I had heard so much about this restaurant. I was told they had the best Trinidad Chinese food ever. I was in NY on Wed. and popped in this tiny little carry out type place. The place was filled with regular old men on the bar stools and others at the counter. I had the house special since that was suggested and it was a huge box full of lots of food. I had fried rice, low mein, vegetables and chicken. I wasn't quite sure how the chicken was prepare it seemed to be in between fried and baked. I love veggies so that was my favorite part of the meal and what I consumed all of. It was a bit greasy for my taste and nothing to rave about to me. Other than loads of great veggies cooked nice and crispy I cannot say too much more about the food because I didn't eat much of the other items do to lack of taste and again greasy. Nice people and many locals seemed to love it. Not sure if the other dishes were more appealing I think the next time I am in NY I will try it again and select a different dish. Hope this helps.

I’ve been going here for years. They have great tasting bread and Trinidad pastries. They only take cash and the lines can be long on weekend. Their food is made fresh to order and is always delicious. There pound cake is amazing along with their chines style fried chicken. There is no competition in the crown heights area. This place has baked good and great food. They are closed on a Sunday and people normally pre order their hot bread and roast bake.

Visiting NY and I heard about this place from friends. I had a Roti and it was pretty decent. My sister had a wonton soup. I tried the soup and it was fantastic. A lot of food for the money. The staff was pleasant but very busy.

This happens to be one of my favorite things to eat when I go to a West Indian Restaurant. Well, it was 9PM and my wife was hungry. We had just finish an in-home presentation for the Ambitvip.com team. We parked outside and walked in. The owner actually took our order. Goat, Pepper Shrimp fried rice with chow mein and lo mein. Delicious and Hot...hot...hot. I i am not Trinidadian however married to one. She can handle the spice. Wonderful food for a very reasonable price. Enjoy and hopefully you don't get stuck on a line that is usually outside according to the locals.

What can I say, I love this food! A lot of food for the money. The food is as authentic as you can. We just picked up the Bake and Salt Fish, Pone, doubles and Chinese food. Amazing!!

The line is always out the door, and the food is the reason. I love the house special and the currant rolls. The wontons are also a favorite. They only accept cash, and that is my only complaint.

2 stars..... Customer service is sorely lacking! The man decided to serve someone else mid order because we asked questions. The second staff, female, her face looked like we were bothering her! The currants roll were burnt! Crispy and dark brown. Wish I got a picture before getting rid of it! I am very disappointed. They're may be long queues but at this rate it wouldn't last. Needless to say we would not be back! It's my 1st time there and I was unimpressed. My sister says that level of disdain to customers is a regular occurrence. I'm big on customer service because I'm paying! I'm paying for good products too so it was an overall let down!
THE COCONUT BUNS ALWAYS SELL OUT! Get them while you can!
This bakery stocks delicious bakery and roti items. It's a cheap eats spot that never disappoints. Locals are always in trying to pick up their favourite food so if you see something you like, buy it before it sells out.
