Pure awesomeness!

By iJenNaustin |

First, the menu is outstanding. What a great combination of flavors and super healthy options. You'll find a wide variety of yumminess. Love that this restaurant reflects our creative city! Second, the decor and design is so warm and welcoming. Love the modern farmhouse style.

Enjoyable Healthy Food

By Dan_Yucaipa_CA |

I liked the the review that compared the food to Chili’s for millennials. Inventive dishes, funky/informal atmosphere, good service, and reasonable prices. The most amazing dish I tried was featured sweet potato glass noodles. I am suspicious of non-grain based pastas, but this was really very good! The edamame dumplings were okay. Butternut squash on pizza? I’m not sure why, but the crust was delicious. Overall, a pleasant experience with healthy overtones.

My new Fave Place to Eat

By Victoria O |

Such a great restaurant ! Some of the most interesting and original dinning dishes. Our fave was a dish called Ancent Grains and it is an interesting combination of grains, pesto, mushrooms, onions, and sweet potato, with your choice of protein, along with a long variety of other interesting dishes ! A must for your visit to Downtown Austin

True Food Kitchen- Downtown Austin

By Michael E |

Incredible menu of fresh and beautifully prepared food. Excellent environment and decor to have an enjoyable experience. The service was impeccable and it was easy to get a reservation. I highly recommend this Downtown Austin location. The Seaholm Power Plant district has an upscale industrial vibe.

Great place for lunch

By SabrinaC411 |

Service is excellent and wait staff is professional and accommodating. The Mediterranean Chicken pita is a favorite as is the chopped salad. Will validate parking up to one hour in the Seaholm garage.

Healthy Dining in the Seaholm District

By Gail M |

Our women’s lunch bunch selected this restaurant for our November gathering and we all enjoyed our food. We started with guacamole dip for the table and it was dressed with pine nuts that added a lovely crunch. Our bottle of Pinot Grigio was served properly chilled and enjoyed by all. The favorites of the table were the Poke bowl, the grilled salmon, sea bass tacos and grass fed angus burger. My burger was served with a sweet potato hash which could have been warmer. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and happily answered any questions we had. The food here is clean sourced and we all felt healthier after lunch!

A good lunch

By Elephantastic |

Great allergy-friendly menu that is easy to navigate. Server was very knowledgeable about what is in each dish. The starter (asparagus) was mostly greens with only a few bits of asparagus, though it was all VERY delicious. My entree was fish tacos (gluten, dairy, egg free) and it was yummy and the fish was cooked to perfection. It was a great lunch, but I wasn't "five-star wowed" here, and I don't know if it was the food, service, menu, or a little of everything. I had a tasty meal that was allergy free, and I would love to try other items on their menu in the future. Maybe next time will knock my socks off!

Good food, nice open atmosphere

By Melissa P |

I went here with a group from work. It probably wasn't a place I would normally pick myself, but we really had a great time. We ordered several appetizers, which were very fresh. I ordered the Mediterranean chicken pita, which was really good. I opted for iced tea instead of a cocktail and it was delicious. I do like a good iced tea! We ordered several desserts to share. They have a flourless chocolate cake. It was good, especially if that flourless-ness appeals to you. But don't expect the usual sugary decadence. We also had some of the strawberry-rhubarb crumble. It was good as well. I really liked the open, airy ambience. Wait staff was attentive.

True Food Kitchen - Seaholm -Downtown Austin

By Michael E |

Fresh healthy food at it's best... The Chefs create the most unique combination of flavors and tastes that makes everyone smile... The incredible Seaholm location in downtown Austin is amazing. The service was perfect and they went out of their way to accommodate everyone. Highly recommend and a must visit...

Great ambience and tasty treats

By Om Maniyar |

Visited this restaurant with family friends. It is right by the Austin public library and opposite to Trader Joe’s. It is huge with both indoor and outdoor seating. Food is fresh and delicious. Prices are reasonable. Service is great. Will be here again.

I had the turkey burger!

By tamjan |

I had the grass-fed burger with caramalized onion, arugula, parmesan, vegenaisem on a flaxseed bun. it was 860 calories and very tasty for $16! i also had a glass of chardonnay for $10 from California and my bartender was very courteous. the restaurant was sanitized nicely and got busy from 7:30pm at sunset. tons of people were eating pizza so i guess those are good also! skinny margaritas are great!!

Fresh & Healthy!

By misopiso88 |

If you are looking for upscale, fancy, fresh cuisine, this is the place! I visited a True Food Kitchen in Naples, FL earlier this year and it was DELISH so I was excited to see one in Austin. Four of us went for lunch and shared several different dishes. Highly recommend!

Just Great!

By Atchers |

On a warm evening this place is just great, good outdoor space, attentive service and a nice broad crowd. The food is truly excellent as well, a good balance of veggie with some meat, so one of your guests doesn't have to compromise! It a clever formula and deserves all the positive reviews. Stand out memory was a beetroot and rocket flatbread. I want it again as I write this!!

Great healthy options

By LocalAdventures |

I’ve been to the Scottsdale and Orange County Locations and now am happy to say Austin as well. True Food Kitchen never disappoints. Everything on the menu is great!

Stay away!

By usnamom2001 |

This place was a waste of time and money. We were seated opposite the doors and froze the entire meal. Every time the door opened to the outside seating or when people came in to eat were blasted with cold air. The menu was small and the food not good at all. Waste of money!!!

Amazing!

By marinalcsw |

One of the best vegan restaurants I’ve been to. The butternut squash pizza, the seasonal ingredient salad and the panang curry were to die for. The service was friendly and efficient even though restaurant was busy.

Loved the gluten free pizza!

By Laura m |

We loved the gluten free, soy free, corn free, sugar free, dairy free pizza and delicious! I added tofu to the spinach mushroom and kale vegan pizza. Even the meat eaters loved it1

Very healthy and flavorful; first-come first-serve seating at bar area is problematic

By MichaelTheWanderer |

Very healthy lunch with many options for vegetarians or vegans. We definitely plan on returning. I marked down one star because we had a thirty-minute wait over lunch, and the host told us we could get first-come, first-serve seating at the bar. The bar area is expansive, and although we were obviously waiting (standing in the corner), several different parties cut by going to other areas of the bar and hovering behind bar stools or high top tables. The restaurant should have a better mechanism for managing the first-come, first-serve seating, perhaps with a line on the side.

Very fresh & lots of options but a little hit or miss

By Madison S |

Overall, I really enjoyed this place. We went during the lunch rush on a Friday afternoon and were originally told it might be up to a 40 minute wait, but ended up getting seated after about 20 minutes. I was really impressed with the cocktails- the strawberry rhubarb margarita was absolutely delicious. I don’t usually like to spend more than $10 for a margarita but this one was so refreshing and tasty I felt ok about the $13 price tag. The other drinks were also very good. We ordered several entrees and shared around. The chicken sausage and fennel pizza was very good. I ordered the spinach mushroom pizza with ricotta and that was a little underwhelming- it just lacked a lot of flavor. However the crust on their pizzas is really good, very crispy and fresh and not at all doughy or soggy. The teriyaki quinoa bowl is also very tasty, as was the Panang curry bowl. I thought it was really cool how they let you do 1/2 and 1/2 on the bowls if you can’t decide between them you can get half of one and half of another. This is definitely a pretty trendy place to eat and is very loud, probably not a great option for those who prefer a more quiet or intimate environment (at least during peak times). Our server was very helpful but not overbearing, and we only waited about 15 minutes (maybe less) for everything to come out. I liked that the kitchen is open to the restaurant floor and you can see out to the courtyard around the restaurant. They do have covered outdoor seating as well. I would have loved to have given more stars but for the price, some of the food was just a little lackluster. But everything else was pretty good. I would definitely go back and would recommend to check it out if you’re not too worried about prices.

Meat Eaters/HealthyEaters/Pescetarians/Vegans/Chow Hounds In General REJOICE There Is A Place You Can All EAT Together!

By ItalianTara |

What an amazing dinner... Beautiful restaurant, cool location, great service - and we had a large party and really good cocktails! Loved this place - I think we all did! I absolutely suggest having a meal here when in Austin... We had every type of eater at our table and ALL WERE HAPPY! I had a unique Quinoa Inside Out Burger that was very creative - different than what I thought it was going to be and SUPER AWESOME! My Husband had the Lasagna and thought it was AMAZING - and we have Italian roots so he is used to good Lasagna! LOL. Hey, seriously I hope this review motivates you to try this place, everyone loved it - hope you do too!

Excellent fresh food concept.

By hbear4593 |

Excellent fresh food concept. The edamame guacamole was full flavored, the salmon and the sea bass were full flavored with layers of flavor. All served efficiently. Great experience !

Addictive

By Jane J |

First sampled their food at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena California at a restaurant tasting event. Found the restaurant the following day and had lunch. While there, discovered they have a restaurant in Austin near Trader Joe's Downtown by the new Central Library. Have been there twice since my return to Austin. Fresh menu options that are sourced locally as much as possible. Herbs grown right on the premises. Meat and vegetarian options. Have not tasted anything that didn't send me into orbit because it was so good. Creative drink options and outstanding service. Go there when you are feeling bruised by the world and you will leave refreshed and empowered. Too much?.........just telling it like it is!

Healthy & Vegetarian options

By Pravayana |

Menu is great with lot of healthy , vegetarian & vegan options. There is also outdoor seating, There are also options for kids, good to visit for families, friends, couples or even for office team lunches

Great healthy and tasty variety

By rhpatt29 |

This place is very busy on a Friday evening. It is in an area that has a mixture of new condos/apartments and redeveloped space. The restaurant is very good. It is a diverse menu that ranges from vegan to steak. Lots of new seasonings and taste combinations. We had three different entrees plus kids meals. All of them were very good. I had the Panang curry and it was very good. I didn’t pay attention to the other dishes as I was busy watching the flow of people, families, etc. it is an exciting, pleasant atmosphere.

Highly Recommend This Restaurant!

By ABQJean |

Dined at this restaurant for lunch on 10/05/18. Excellent food & service! We dined on the pet friendly patio. I enjoyed the yummy Fall Ingredient Salad with Salmon. My husband enjoyed the delicious Fish Tacos. Would definitely return to this vibrant, friendly restaurant!! Hunter was our server & he took very good care of us. He provided us with information about Austin & the surrounding areas. Obvious that he enjoys living/working in Austin!!

True Food Kitchen is Super Healthy Food

By Michael E |

The tastiest, freshest, healthiest, most delicious places I've ever been to. Located in the uber hip industrial Seaholm Power Plant district, it is a must visit photographers dream. The open concept kitchen and overall decor make it so inviting. They have a huge choice of indoor and outdoor patio dining. So impressed and can't wait to go back.

Consistent Food and Service

By BojanglesAustin |

After dining here three times in the last month, I can honestly say that the quality of the food is very good and the menu is interesting and diverse. The service has been consistently excellent with informed and conscientious.

Great Fresh Food

By David B |

We really enjoyed True Food Kitchen. The food was fresh and tasty. The only complaint I would have is that the servings are on the small side. In adding chicken to my ancient grains bowl, I got a quarter to a third of a chicken breast. The green ice tea was great and the cauliflower and eggplant appetizers were delicious. We'll be back.

Great meal, attentive service

By Bill H |

Well seasoned, well proportioned, interesting offerings. Lively atmosphere contributed to a great experience. I’ll be back.

Soooo tasty food (& healthy!)

By Martyjojo |

We were after a healthy dinner, although even here seeing the calorie count on all the food brings it home as to what you might be consuming elsewhere! We shared the chicken satay and the charred cauliflower, just gorgeous, for starters. For main I had teriyaki quinoa with shrimp and my husband the Turkey burger. We shared a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc (rickshaw from ca), we loved it all and service was fab. Lovely decor and design to this place, looks pretty new. Well done!

Great healthy and delicious choices!

By hermilo1987 |

We stopped by looking for a healthy lunch option while in Austin and were not disappointed. This place has a contemporary decor and sitting arrangement, with both inside and outside options and a full service bar. I had a lemongrass margarita, which may very well be my new favorite drink! I also tried my wife's watermelon mojito and consider it just as good. For lunch I had their inside-out quinoa burger - spoiler alert - it was awesome! Two quinoa patties sandwiching your typical burger ingredients made for a hefty, yet healthy lunch. Would definitely return for both the food and the overall vibe of the restaurant.

Dinner

By Sorcha_a |

Tried this place whilst in Austin recently. I had the vegan pizza option with butternut squash which was really tasty my partner had steak tacos which he enjoyed but said the portion was a little on the small side (we both have healthy appetites)! Disappointing that they don’t know whether their wines are vegan or not when the rest of the menu is well marked up. I’m sure it wouldn’t be difficult for them to find out. The waitress didn’t even know that not all wine is vegan which surprised me.

Excellent fresh choices

By jpbportland |

Grabbed lunch here while at a conference. Great selection and they take reservations. The restaurant is large but has great service

Healthy And Tasty Food

By Mela_World |

Enough of street food? Enough of fast food? Want to have nice place with reasonable prices for lunch or dinner. So you got to come here. This is great place for vegetarian. Really tasty food, very good drinks, great service and very pleasant place. Highly recommended!

Fantastic food

By RoosterBlue |

Very fresh, delicious food. Dumplings are amazeballs. Bowls are my favorite. Also 'seasonal salad' They desperately need to increase their bar staff. Drinks take forever to get to the table. The apology is always, "the bar is really backed up, they are busy" Really, that's a surprise? There are 2 people supplying all of the drinks for a huge restaurant. But, alcohol is apparently not their focus - if you want speed, go to a regular bar.

Great food and service

By Never Lost; Just Looking |

Enjoyed a great evening with 5 co workers at the location in Austin. Staff excellent and the food wonderful. Save room for dessert

Great food. Don't plan to have a conversation!

By Mystic1000 |

I love True Foods but I can't tell you how many times we decided NOT to go there because we'd have to sit inside (too hot. I'm in Texas) and when the place is more than half full the noise is just too much. If the weather allows it, we go there because you can sit on a lovely patio and noise is not an issue. Like I said, the food, drink, and service is fantastic. So go for that and not to talk!

True Food, Great Food

By Timothy T |

Located only a walking distance from the Capitol, True Foods offers a great selection of diverse, healthy foods for all to enjoy. The restaurant here is fairly large, so a reservation is not necessary but I wish one could reserve a parking lot - it was not easy to find! The service was a little bit slow, but it may have been due to the large number of customers that day. The food was excellent; it was a pleasure to eat. Overall, I felt it was pricey for the smaller portions, but nonetheless I definitely recommend whenever visiting Austin!

Reliable Choice

By susangoodson |

The service was a little lacking, but the food was standard to the True Foods Kitchen quality. It is a chain type restaurant, but there isn't one close to me and it was a reliable choice for our first night on an Austin weekend getaway. Every thing tasted very fresh.

Great Casual Dining in downtown

By ronaustx |

Fresh ingredients, friendly waitstaff, good location, really good food. Pizza and lasagna were our choices, and we were very satisfied with the lunch. Hummus really good too.

Always excellent

By Allan P |

I have visited the location in Houston and now Austin. The consistency is excellent. I really enjoy everything they make.

Loved everything

By Paradise733637 |

We went here for the first time last night! We had about 8 different dishes and loved them all. Simple food made in a delicious way!

Great yummy healthy

By MiRkA_j85 |

This is a busy place for a reason. Very yummy, healthy. Had the curry and pizza. Yum! And people who work here are fun carrying and helpful.

Amazing food!

By Jessica |

I enjoyed this dinner with my wife. We were both surprised by the service and food gave! I will be coming back here shortly.

Delicious

By Debbie Q |

Absolutely superb! A treat For the health conscious amongst us! Cauliflower delicious of avocadoo toast superbe spinach and mushroom pizza delicious Enjoyed the sangrida and dessert a candlelight holistic restaurant is a welcome treat for Houston!

Good food and service; noisy atmosphere.

By Brad H |

We dined here twice this past week and were content both times. Reservations are recommended. We were seated and greeted promptly on both occasions. The room is very large with high ceilings and lots of hard surfaces, so conversation must be at a near-shouting level. At our first visit, Savannah talked me into 2 or 3 additions to my order that increased the price. I didn't fall for that tactic at our second visit. The vegetable sides of charred cauliflower and roasted Brussels sprouts were delicious. I had Pad Thai and the Margarita pizza while she had the redfish and the salmon. The food was very good, but not great. Service was attentive. Dinner for 2 totaled $88 plus tip at the first visit, and $70 plus tip at the second visit. All in all, not a bad value. Our only real complaint was about the noisy environment.

Healthy food that tastes amazing!

By Sam Elderman |

I honestly love coming here! There’s so many healthy options that honestly taste amazing! I’m not vegan nor vegetarian and 90% of the time I just order everything veggie here! It’s simple and freaking delicious!

Neat place

By codymack2 |

We stopped in at the True Food Kitchen while traveling to Austin for fun recently. The food and staff were both excellent. I had the steak street tacos and was really impressed. I would definitely recommend stopping here.

best quinoa bowl

By Apucciarelli |

this place is the most healthiest food that i have ever enjoyed, there are some times in the past where the food was too plain, but this restaurant exceeded my expectations. I would definitely come back to try other food on the list. I had teriyaki chicken quinoa bowl and it was to die for, but my girlfriends said that spaghetti spinach casserole was best on the list.

Consistently great food!

By cjs4 |

Healthy food that taste good... what’s great combination... and True food does it well! I have visited the restaurant many times and had several dishes from the menu. All have been great! The service is always good too!

Worth the Walk

By EJ1020 |

Was looking for a good meal before heading out of Austin and so glad we found this place. It is a bit out of the way, but still an easy walk from the middle of downtown. Service was great and every plate we had was high quality. Kid friendly, but good for business or even a casual date. Would definitely go again.

Pretty good food, but the staff is not too interested

By ginafoodie |

We sat outside for lunch. Unfortunately it was very windy, felt like we were in a windtunnel of sorts. The staff didn't really care to help out with that by suggesting another table or bring us a replacement for the food that had literally been blown off our table. Afterwards we had to wait very long for a cheque, eventually went inside ourselves to pay. Anyway, the food was pretty good, though portions were not as big as they could have been. May give them a second chance some time, but then I'll be sitting inside.

Great concept - dishonest promotions

By Dreamer171137 |

Ate here in July 2018. We were encouraged to complete a card for a $10 off our next meal. Never received it. Emailed the company twice. No response. Refilled the card over a month ago - still no $10 coupon. Called the restaurant today. Answer: my first card must have 'got missed' second attempt "we probably haven't had time to process it' (a month ago?) Food was good. Expensive, table service was good, hosting staff not so friendly nor whomever answers the phone, parking was very difficult. If you are staying downtown and don't mind spending plenty of money for very little food and SOME of the staff being ok then it's a good experience. I won't go back.

Reliably Good.. Solid Food, Great Service, Atmosphere+

By SJWolf66 |

We got into town late and starving and didn't want to take a chance and have eaten at True Food Kitchen in SoCal. It was a slightly different menu, but the same excellent food and service. Crowded, definitely not "intimate" but you can count on a very good meal. Walking distance to a few interesting spots, really enjoyed it. Highly recommended esp if you are food-conscious (allergies, health, weight, whatever...)

Something for the toddler

By Fathima I |

We were at the library and little one was hungry so we decided to step into this restaurant which had a modern bar wibe It’s more of a heath food venue but as you are in the USA you had to have pizza in the menu :) We ordered a pomegranate drink a kale smoothie and a lemonade tea with ginger the last of it was my favourite of them all Kale drink wasn’t for me as I’m not that much into drinking grass lol my sis in law however loved it (I could taste the kale ! Though I love vegetables not in my drinks I guess) We ordered kids pizza which the kid loved so for that reason alone I have given it 4 stars ! The adult pizza was also good came with a thin crust and could taste the fresh basil really nice I guess they source their ingredients from around Austin which is also a plus The waiter was friendly.

AHMAZING!!!

By Fuhrmjo |

This restaurant was truly awesome. The most creative menu I have seen in a long time. Great food that was truly wholesome. You could taste the freshness. The waitstaff knew exactly where each ingredient was sourced. Loved that!

Best dinner out of 4 days in Austin

By Jerry O |

We visit Austin several times each year - to see our daughter and now, also her fiancé. When in town we enjoy the food scene in Austin - particularly the vegan / vegetarian options and venues. True Foods is not strictly vegan or vegetarian but they rocked it for us with a late lunch / early dinner on a Sunday. Our line up included the vegetable crudité, with hummus dips (as the others did not meet our dietary restrictions), some pita bread to go with the crudité, an ancient grains bowl (delicious and different in a great way than the one we get at the TF in Denver), two non-alcoholic yummy drinks and a chia seed, banana toasted coconut pudding. Our meal was complimented by a great server and friendly guests next to us. 3 hours later we left - very satisfied.

Group dinner

By John F |

Contemporary fresh open restaurant. Healthy menu that has good variety and options. Very good friendly service. Excellent cocktails and it is not necessary to go for all healthy options, there is also a good desert menu. All my group throughly enjoyed. Definitely recommend

What's not to love about TFK?

By CSE18 |

After days of eating at food trucks around Austin, my daughter and I needed a good healthy meal. Healthy, tasty options - such a good menu - hard to choose. Service was wonderful.

True blue!

By Dawn B |

If you're looking for a sure bet for really good fresh food with a delicious mix of flavors, this is your place. The room is lovely and has a nice vibe, and the bar is always busy, plus there's a huge outdoor, covered patio for alfresco dining. I love the fresh greens juice with a shot of Tito's vodka. Perfect!

Great restaurant at fair price

By Chi Yun W |

Visited with friends and we all enjoyed our food and time. The food and service were both good, and we loved our seat outside, it was chill with breeze, they also have indoor seats with TVs that you can watch ball games. The price matched the quality and portion of the food, the only downside from our previous experience was the rather long food waiting time. The four of us received our first dish after 30 min, which was a pasta, but then the rest of the food was delivered promptly.

Great food, great people!

By Steve H |

The food is fantastic. Everything we've had there has been top notch. Highly recommend the pizza and the salmon. Decor is really cool - very comfortable and welcoming. Fits perfect with their food. However, one thing that really stands out, though, is their people. In particular a wonderful lady named Adara. My fiance and I were out on a long walk (in 110 degree heat!) and we happened upon this restaurant. It looked interesting, and neither of us had ever been there before, so we stopped in just to look around and see the menu (planing to come back later in the week as I didn't have a wallet with me). However, Adara was super nice telling us about the place and even brought us two complementary cold drinks! That act alone told me this is a place we want to frequent, and we have - many times. I can't recommend them enough!

Yummy healthy food

By juliewulie2018 |

Always love to eat at this restaurant when I am in Austin. I always get a meal to go to take on my flight home.

Perfect Brunch!

By Nicole W2015 |

We enjoyed a perfect brunch at True Food on a cool and crisp February morning! We had the Organic Tuscan Kale, the TLT, the Grass fed Burger, and the Mediterranean Chicken Pita. Everything was deliciously prepared and beautifully presented! Very cool vibe and great service!

Healthy eating never tasted so good

By TXDave55 |

We tried the ancient grains bowl with chicken, the grilled fish tacos, chicken noodle soup, and the charred cauliflower. Everything was really good. I'll say it again....every dish was really good. The cauliflower was just right. The fish tacos had the perfect toppings and really fresh fish. The ancient grains bowl was great, and the chicken noodle soup was really fresh and flavorful. We also tried the pomegranate chia limeade and it was delicious. Perfect amount of sweetness with no added sugar!! True Food Kitchen has definitely found a place on our short list.

Delicious food and great ambiance

By electric7 |

We visited this restaurant with 2 other couples. Cocktail menu was great and we tried a couple of delicious options. Two of our group of six had issues with gluten and one had a fish allergy. We all managed to eat without any worries. The crudité plate was beautifully presented. I had the lasagna which was delicious and gluten free!

Great Food

By Traveler from OH |

This restaurant has a great selection of different foods. We had a salad and a quinoa bowl. Both dishes were excellent. There is indoor and outdoor seating. While outdoor seating is preferred, the indoor seating is light and airy. We had very good service as well. Highly recommend 5his restaurant.

Great food for special requests!!

By Drtaxman |

We had a group of five of us eating at the restaurant. The waiter was extremely nice, patient, and offered suggestions. Then, when we ordered, we each had our own special requests, and he did everything he could to accommodate us. The food came out perfect, and we were all happy and full!

Very good salads

By sweetiesPennsylvania |

We have been here before for lunch and always liked the salads. This was our first evening visit.Charred cauliflower in a tahini sauce excellent.Redfish entree just OK.

The Ancient Grains Bowl is the BEST MEAL EVER

Make a reservation! And enjoy! The flavors in the ancient grains bowl are amazing. Really a treat and I can't wait to go back.

I love this place.

By annekabjorkeson |

I love this place. Needed a fresh meal after a weekend of drinking. Lots of vegan options & incredible juices.

Very spacious and warm environment

By maherakh |

Excellent place, wide open and welcoming. Waitress was awesome and super friendly. The menu is full of options we came in around 2 pm on Father’s Day and had option for brunch or regular breakfast or lunch.

Perfect!

By cary s |

Delicious healthy food, wonderful harvest salad and great turkey sandwich. Excellent service and comfortable environs.

Delicious and healthy!

By Shan B |

My son and I ate here with friends that live in Austin. The food was not only healthy, it was delicious. We left full but not miserable. My son had a noddle bowl and I had a sweet potato bowl. The sparkling drinks were good also. We will go back!

Good food, long wait

By carlosgranja |

Food is different\good. In our visit, we experienced no wait for a table, but once at the table the food took quite a while (at least 50 minutes). Luckily as a group we had things to discuss but everyone was already running out of patience and about to eat each other's arms :) . Loved the poke, curry, and the pizza.

Fun atmosphere

By Eli |

Not a very large menu but very delicious! There are more glinted free options than the menu specifies so definitely ask if you want a gf meal. Gluten free pizza and fish were very good!

Great fresh food with outside dining when the weather is nice

By Bill B |

My wife, daughter, son-in-law, and I ate lunch here after going to the library. Nice menu selections, with fresh ingredients. Friendly wait staff.

True to form

By Motrippers |

I love True Foods in Scottsdale and if I visit a town with one I always try to go. Very healthy, clean food and good service from happy people. This one was no exception and we enjoyed the meal even though one of my guests is not entirely on board with mostly vegetarian food. He had the grass-fed burger and loved it. I had the panang curry also good. The hummus was excellent and our fruity ice tea perfect for a hot day in Texas. Kale salad is great, lots of garlic and one is enough to share. All in all a real treat when you are away from home.

Great, healthy, innovative food

By Surfingfamilyadventures |

We went to this place twice. One of my favorite restaurants in America. My wife and I love healthy farm to table food made with fresh ingredients. This place has all of it and more. The service was great and food was even better. It will be the first place we go to eat on our 2019 trip to Austin.

Chi-chi it place with average food and average service

By Robert R |

Chi-chi it place with aveage food and average service. A place to be seen and have frufru watermelon drinks. Not a place for good food though.

Test your “Curry”age!

By Nathan B |

I’ve tried a decent amount of curry’s around town, this is in the top 10. I wouldn’t say it’s extremely spicy, but has a pleasant burn that I’ve been enjoying minutes after. Well done!

My new favorite

By Shannon2235 |

This is my New favorite restaurant! Its healthy food with great flavor. I could eat here every day. I wish I had taken a photo of my food to show. If your not a healthy food conscious person, you wont like this restaurant. Overall the food is great, service was wonderful and atmosphere was perfect. They will also validate your parking if you park in the garage.

Delicious with a A+ service

By YNWA |

True Food Kitchen was just a delight to visit. We were looking for some creative food with good quality and they delivered. The service was great from the first minute until we left. Out food arrived quickly, we were very happy with the amount of food and the options in the menu. The restaurant itself is also very nice. We preferred to sit in the patio, with the heaters, it was perfect. Inside it was a little too noisy than I prefer. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're trying to eat healthy as well. They have several choices in the menu for every taste and diet.

Delicious healthy food

By allison1236 |

We shared 1 salad and 1 bowl and both were delicious. They split it into two portions which were both reasonably sized and filling. Would go back and try the rest of the menu if I️ had the chance!

Lunch with family

By Peggipoo |

I enjoyed my Chicken salad and husband ate a teriyaki bowl. Our meals had a lot of favor. The portions were a little small for the price but were delicious. Not a fan of water with no ice when it is a 100 degrees outside. Would go back again.

Thoughtful service

By Maria 🪷 |

We enjoy True Kitchen back home and, exhausted from traveling, we just wanted something familiar and healthy. So we got a table in the large outdoor seating area. The server was really great when an item was made incorrectly. They quickly remade the dish and didn’t charge us for it. The margherita pizza was delicious!

SO FRESH AND SO YUMMY

By Ashley |

I am a clean eater and always looking for a restaurant to cater to food allergies and clean eating. This one was a HUGE hit with a large menu and so many fresh options. The staff are also wonderful and accommodating!

Great place to have brunch

By aguirja1 |

Great place to have brunch. Good ambiance, terrific service, fantastic food. Avocado toast, blueberry muffin, spaghetti squash and cauliflower appetizer were very tasty. Pizza for the kids great as well.

True Food Kitchens are consistently excellent

By MesaSB |

This is the first TFK that I visited. What a great surprise. I really had no idea what to expect but as soon as you walk toward it, you see that it is a really fun place to have a meal. Lots of people sitting inside and out but because of the layout, it doesn't feel crowded. It feels busy but it's really open so it's fun to sit and people watch while drinking beer or wine and just relaxing for awhile while you figure out what to have off the menu. The menu is excellent if you like creative health oriented food. The portions are generous so whatever you get, you will get plenty of it. If you have never been to a TFK, just try one. After that, you'll look for them in every city that has one.

Excellent food, excellent service in the bar, great flavors

By cunorbust |

After the server never arrived in the dining area for over 5 minutes we moved to the bar area and then enjoyed great service and food. Would definitely return to the bar area. Sampled 3 wines, nothing special on the first 2, but the Sardinia Cannonau was great.

Delicious and healthy food!

By CRGATX67 |

I've been here several times and I'm always very pleased with my experience. The menu is unique, the staff is attentive and the vibe is perfect for any occasion. Food/Drinks: unlike anything I've seen at other restaurants. They combine healthy ingredients to make appealing entree and appetizer options. I'm not a person who enjoys healthy-eating, so the first time my friend asked me to go with her, I was a bit skeptical. This place changed my perception of health food restaurants! The dishes are beautifully dressed and flavorful. I really enjoyed the different cocktails they offer. There seems to be something delicious for everyone -- even the non-drinkers. They don't overdo the sugar in the drinks and you feel like they're also part of the healthy experience. Full bar as well! Environment: the restaurant is visually appealing -- very neat and clean. The interior design fully captures the health food concept in my opinion. It's a little noisy at times, but very classy at the same time. *There is usually a wait, so I would try to get there before the lunch crowd! There are indoor and outdoor seating options, both which provide a great dining experience.

Delivery

By Betty C |

The delivery is bad ... they don't secure the food. I'm pretty sure my soup had something extra in it so i just poured it out. Other restaurants put in a secure bag or at least put stickers on the containers

Fantastic Fresh Fare

By 182jr |

As a family we had lunch here on a beautiful sunny afternoon so we enjoyed dining on the patio. They have a great menu with lots of healthy choices. I had the Teriyaki quinoa bowl, my partner had the Panang Curry and another family member had the red chili noodle bowl. All were excellent choices and very much enjoyed. We started the meal with the edamame dumplings which we great. We can’t wait to return to this delightful place.

Disappointing .......new bowls are tiny sized.

By Margaret O |

Their bowl sizes have become very small and prices are up. What is the rationale to skimp on a few noodles ( pesto) and charge almost $18 with no protein. We thought we received the side dish. It was that small. Time to cook at home.

Always True to You

By Food Oficianado |

True Food Kitchen is my favorite place to dine in Austin. The most unique and Healthy drinks and food in town. Service is always very friendly and knowledgeable about their products.

If you have not tried burger

By David Miller |

If you have not tried burger fuel yet, you are missing out alot. This is probably the best burger place ever. The flavor and the taste are amazing. Prices are fair and portion is good.

Delicious Meal close to Austin's beautiful downtown library

By Michele78722 |

The food was great; we got a parking voucher; the service was great; location is perfect; prices were especially good for downtown Austin.

Great, wholesome food

By ladybugsmiles |

Had dinner here on the zipper-in patio on a chilly night. Waiter was knowledgeable and helpful. Food was superb. I had the chopped salad which was medjool date, dried cranberry, jicama, apple, manchego, farro, marcona almond, champagne vinaigrette. It was fresh, different and tasty. Would love to try other dishes.

First Visit

By jerryg1955 |

Met up with a business associate based on his recommendation. In a newer development west of downtown. Interesting menu choices with lots of health but filling dishes. I had the Korean Noodle bowl, with Redfish on top and it was great. Good flavor and just enough to fill you up! The lady at the next table had a butternut squash casserole ( I had to ask her cuz’ it looked so good) and she said it was hot and outstanding with lots of cheese. I may try that the next time I am in town on business.

Absolutely delicious!

By Jannah K |

Our lunch at Trust Food Kitchen was such an unexpectedly pleasant surprise. We popped in after shopping, just looking for a healthy lunch. Everything we had was well executed, but the star was the Sea Bass. As a person who is very particular about fish, I took a big chance ordering this... and was blown away! I could eat this every day. The cocktails were great also. My only criticism is that most of the food had a heavy sweet element. My sauce was a Verde sauce, so I was confused why it tasted sweet. Also the Panang Curry was too sweet, as well as the Flatbread appetizer.

Flavor and Zing

By bobbo0115 |

If you are looking for a place that serves healthy flavorful meals then True Food Kitchen is the place for you. The meals are full of flavor and have a zesty zing to each bite. You can taste the herbs and spices in each bite. The soup : Curry Broccoli Ginger was totally tasteful. The Bowls are the best with all of those veggies and spices with tasty sauces or broths. You really need to go here to experience for yourself the great tasting food that these people prepare. All done to perfection...

Burger and kale salad

By drmader |

We always enjoy this chain. Food is fresh and delicious. I like their tacos and the burger w mushrooms and arugula is a fav. They do a wonderful kale salad you can add your choice of meat to..the dressing is lemon and delicious . Easy for take out and their dine in environment is nice too. This is a standard for us

Very good

By Jero52691 |

The hamburger and turkey burger were both very good, sweet potato hash was good but a bit undercooked, casual place, ok for families, server could have been more attentive, overall the food is good

Casual moderate priced elegance in downtown Austin

By Adan_Lerma |

Today my wife and I and a friend of ours experienced one of the nicest lunchs in downtown Austin in quite awhile! Where as most places have over-priced themselves with shrunken serving sizes, True Food Kitchen is exceptional in the quality of their food for the money. It also didn’t hurt that our server, Olivia - a recent transplant from Connecticut it turns out - effortlessly went out of her way to adjust the umbrellas around our seating for best lighting and warmth plus provided continuous gracious service with excellent food recommendations (that panned out true!) and even paused for moments when we wanted to chat. The food is as fresh and appetizing as advertised. Our turkey wrap was exception, our vegan pizza delicious, and our side of specially prepared cauliflower yummy as a desert (which we also had - smiles). As the enclosed pics show, we sat outside under heaters and enjoyed Austin’s version of winter :) Verly highly recommend! Oh, and I should add, the variety of folks having lunch attested to this restaurant’s overall appeal - causal us, lots of mommies with little ones, and snazzy dressed office folk (smiles).

Amazing Food and Fun Atmosphere!!

By Eileen S |

I have eaten at True Food Kitchen in Austin on several occasions! Whether for lunch or dinner the food is always incredible and the wait staff exceptional. You can't go wrong eating at True Food!

Fine food, wonderful service.

By Jeff |

Went to meet a friend here for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. Hadn’t heard of this chain fore and there seems to e one in Dallas where we live! We got into a table quickly and the food was good for chain type dining. Service was excellent ad would go back.

Fantastic All-Around

By Brent B |

First visit to this restaurant for my Wife and I but won’t be the last. Reviewing the menu it was apparent that the philosophy of this place was spot on. Fish tacos and Lasagna bolognese were wonderful and the albacore appetizer was fantastic. Our server AJ was friendly, helpful, and his service was flawless! A must do in Austin!

Great tastes at True Food.

By Cal E |

True Food brings together fresh ingredients, prepared in unique dishes, that offer the diner a lot of choices certain to please everyone at the table. While vegetarian and gluten free options abound, you can also get a hamburger or enjoy the catch of the day. We have recently enjoyed the Margherita Pizza (one of several kinds available), Poke Bowl, Panang Curry, and the Seabass. All of these dishes were first rate, served hot and quickly by enthusiastic wait staff. The wine list offers selections that complement a wide variety of tastes. Good idea to make reservations if you're dining at peak times.

Great food and Vibe

By Escape742086 |

I heard about True Good Kitchen on a podcast with Dr. Andrew Weil! We were heading to Austin so tried it for Brunch! We were seated immediately, and the whole vibe was awesome! We had the edamame dumplings to start which were so fresh with delicious fresh herbs! I had the Korean Salad which was so fresh and delicious! My boyfriend had a pizza which he enjoyed! Loved everything about the experience including great drinks! Probably my favorite restaurant so far in Austin!

Predictably Good

By MLB |

I have visited True Food Kitchen in various cities and the Austin location was as expected - very good. Broad choice menu with seasonal choices to add variety. This location had nice outdoor seating and a good bar area. Can’t go wrong

Unique, delicious flavor combos!

By Shannon K |

I've been to True Food many times, and it remains one of my favorite restaurants! They're food is composed of fresh, seasonal ingredients, and each dish is unique in its own way. I love their twists on more common dishes. Also, it's great for vegetarians! It isn't overly fancy, but it's a great spot for drinks and apps w friends, business dinners or date nights. Both theor lunch and dinner menus are superb. Lastly, their juices / cocktails are to die for!

Big smiles, hearty plates, healthy food

By rconcepcion |

We had dinner at True Food just hours after arriving in Austin for the first time. It was probably the healthiest meal we had for the four days we were in town. Glorious greens, delicious dishes, fresh breads, great drinks (yass to full bar) and a warm, friendly Texas smile to help us navigate the choices and attend to our needs. Bravi team!

True Food Kitchen - Wonderful

By Utahtraveller_8 |

This is a big restaurant with a cool young vibe. The food is fresh and original and delicious! Great for dinner before the Zach Theater. Only drawback is parking is not easy, but there is a garage nearby for which the restaurant will give you a voucher for the first hour.

Lunch

By Steve G |

I am not a full time vegetarian. I do enjoy eating at vegetarian restaurants on occasion. I ordered one of the vegetarian bowls with tofu. It was delicious. A lot of flavor and texture. It costs $20 for the bowl itself, but it was worth the price.

Reigns true to its name

By Lorenzo E |

The harmony of flavors is not found anywhere else. Had the Grass fed Burger on the first visit and the Sustainable Sea bass today, both were amazing. Great ambiance without being too noisy.

Great vegetarian menu

By Caf80 |

Really appreciate the full menu for vegetarians. My fall pesto pasta was delicious, the pizzas looked great, well, all the food looked great. Will definitely come back for more.

Refreshing..

By Italy with Bella |

Colleague of mine suggested we have lunch here. With the start of fresh lemonade with honey to the kale salad to the grass fed burger everything was great. Just a refreshing menu and environement to eat.

True foods

By marcia m |

Always delicious!!! Fabulous service. Welcoming environment and cheerful staff. Love the healthy menu. Plenty of gluten and dairy free options. Convenient parking in the Traded Joe’s parking garage.

Fantastic Meal

By Laura S |

Three (50+) couples had lunch at True Food Kitchen today, and it was wonderful! In town for a family wedding, we were all tired of barbecue and longed for healthier fare. Everything was great—the ambience, the service, the healthy drinks, the appetizers, and the main dishes. We couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant dining experience. If I lived in Austin, it would be a regular choice for me.

Fresh, healthy and beautiful space!

By sheff99 |

This is the place my daughter and I come when we want to treat ourselves. The food is always great and its such a fun location and beautiful space. Love the employees too, always friendly and fun.

Excellent meal at True Food Kitchen

By williamt51678 |

My wife and I brought a friend here for dinner recently. All three of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

Best Gluten Free Pizza

By Clean Foodie |

True Food Kitchen follows the Dirty Dozen/Clean 15 rule. Their beef is 100% grass fed and their chicken is organic. We ordered the Tomato and Arugula Pizza on a gluten free crust. The pizza was good overall and we were quite impressed with the crust. Definitely one of the best gluten free pizza crusts to touch my palate thus far. We also ordered a Pomegranate Chia Limeade and a local dry cider labeled Eastciders Original. The Limeade was really good, quite refreshing and delish. The cider was nice and light. True Food Kitchen does a good job of delivering pretty clean food that is pleasing to the palate in a super nice space.

Love this place's menu and they have my Favorite Frogs Leap Chard!!!!

By Stephanie E |

I can't find Frogs Leap Chardonnay anywhere but here!! This beauty goes with literally everything on their menu!!! I have been here 3 times now and this last time was I was super impressed! No matter who I bring we share all items ordered because the menu is so fun. The 2 main lunch items, without asking came out of the kitchen already split and ready to go. Not only where the portions so generous it was art on our plates! Thank you for having incredible customer service here!! You are proven that in some way all three times we have been here. I love this place and appreciate always being able to get my favorite Napa Chardonnay in a glass and not the bottle!!!!!

Something for everyone

By Susan and Phyl T |

This restaurant cannot be beat in terms of food quality. We went here for a family outing in December and there was something for everyone, whether it was our vegetarian niece or the big meat-eaters in the family. The appetizers were tastefully done and portions were controlled. They had a great wine and beer selection as well. Excellent choice for the discerning diner.

Good food, limited menu

By ALAN W |

This is the first time we went here. We were in Austin visiting relatives & heard this place has good healthy food. For me it was limited menu. So much of the dishes were odd for my taste. We settled on edimame dumplings & margherita pizza. Both were good. The service was good as well. Not sure I would go back because I had a hard time finding things I would like.

Tasty drinks!

By Jen78703 |

This is a chain that specializes in fresh seasonal food and drinks. Portions are sensibly priced so you'll probably not have leftovers. Our waiter was super accommodating and helpful. You can pretty much customize anything here- even your drinks. Yes it was noisy and crowded- welcome to the new Austin! But it was a good experience.

True food kitchen is not true

By Daphne |

I have been here several times and referred people to the restaurant but they have totally lost me as a customer now. The quinoa burger labeled veg has eggs. So you can’t trust anything thevmeno says. My hungry vegan 13 year old boy looked at the remaining few options on the menu of a restaurant we chose to have vegan options and he knew he would go to sleep still hungry. The unbeatable burger is not that great and so he ordered a grain iwlnwhich was not sufficient food and not very good either. I had the cauliflower polenta which is just ok, having no flavor but at least sitting well on the stomach. If you are vegan in Austin, skip this place, Instead gonto Mr. Natural or Counter Culture or have veggie tacos at any of our 100s of taco spot.

Consistently Awesome!

By sicboy |

Fantastic service from a friendly staff, fresh (and healthy) food with many choices. I have been many times and never been disappointed. Near a small park area where dogs and kids play. Sit outside if the weather is nice (inside can get loud when crowded).

Great food!

By Ruthx4 |

We went for a quick dinner before a family event. Service is attentive and careful of any food allergies or sensitivities. We had the chicken satays, hummus and pita, poke bowl and margherita pizza. All was tasty. Prices are decent and the atmosphere is lively (a bit loud) and open air—we had a bird dive bomb us! Highly recommend this place for its fresh ingredients and prompt service!

Definitely on the expensive side and very good!

By rtmidland |

Went with girlfriends to this very cool restaurant in downtown Austin. My sister and I ordered both the fish and the steak tacos and shared. I think we both enjoyed the fish tacos the best. The steak was a little over cooked yet still very tasty. The side of Anasazi beans was delicious. They are very much like our Pinto beans and seasoned similarly yet they stated they were easier to digest. I could have eaten a bigger bowl!! Some had the HUGE burger, salads, also very large. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We also visited at the bar and had some cocktails until the whole party of gals arrived. The service was great. Very contemporary atmosphere, not romantic or a place for a date really. The menu is unique and VERy Austin so you might take a look before you go to be sure there is something on there you will like. We also enjoyed the flourless chocolate cake and it was devine. I would return without a doubt! The wait staff also has great tee shirts however, they don't sell them there. if they had I would own one!!!

Good food despite being achingly hipsterish

By masaccio |

The restaurant is clearly trying too hard with the whole food thing and screams hipster in a way that would normally turn me away. That said, the food was delicious and the dips as good as I have had anywhere. Big eaters and lovers of lardy food should probably stay away, but the food is delicious.

Great Brunch

By OneLaker2 |

Stopped for brunch and really enjoyed the menu options. The hot tea special - ginger, lemon, honey- was unusual and very refreshing. Their kale salad and roasted sweet potatoe sides were very good. We enjoyed all the food and recommend this place , but suggest making a reservation on weekends, very busy! Prices are mid range but expect to pay around $20 per person with tips.

A solid choice for health food

By yogimamacita |

The restaurant is bright and airy with pleasing arrangement of open kitchen and reasonably spaced tables. It did not feel crowded even though there were many people dining. The location downtown is great; convenient to so much that is going on. The food was very fresh, the juices were inventively combined, and the wait staff was truly helpful and cheerful. Our waitress was named “Sunshine,” and she lived up to her name. Park at Trader Joe’s & they’ll give you a parking pass upon arrival to the restaurant. Rainbows aren’t shooting out of my ass, but it was a positive experience and I’ll go back when I’m in Austin again.

Excellent food, great service

By shelingas_sis |

My husband questioned me when I made this reservation because it is labeled a "health food" restaurant and he wasn't sure he would like it. Let me start by saying that he loved his food and ate every bite. The menu, while healthy is so tasty, you wouldn't know it was healthy. Great food, excellent service, we couldn't ask for more.

Great Food and Decent Ambiance

By SirDrankalot |

I sat at the bar since the restaurant was so crowded. I found the food to be pretty good and so was the service. They offer many different beverage options including juice/veggie concoctions.

100% would fly back to Austin just for this food!

By E1493XQthomasb |

I can honestly not say enough about how amazing this place is. I started with the soup of the day which was cauliflower and tai green. Tasted wonderful! For the main had the vegetarian pasta casserole. Again tasted wonderful! Thank you to the 2 serves. Could not fault the service.

Food is truly innovative, sophisticated, and delicious. KETO and PALEO options at your request!

By Kristin P |

Their website describes them as a "passionate collective of accomplished chefs, visionary restaurateurs and a renowned doctor of integrative medicine, who believe delicious dining and conscious nutrition can go hand in hand, without sacrificing flavor, creativity or indulgence." We were sold and couldn't wait to check it out on our trip to Austin, Texas. The food is fresh, unique, customizable (yes you read that right) truly innovative, sophisticated, and delicious.. The decor designed and constructed with emphasis on space, light, and beauty. I had the grass fed burger with caramelized onion, umami and parmesan. My date tried the spinach and mushroom pizza, who knew lemon almond ricotta would be so damn good on a pizza! It had a bit of spice to it too with the aleppo chili! We shared the charred cauliflower and it was nothing short of outstanding and I don't fancy cauliflower all that much! The food was so amazing, we returned the next day for Brunch! Try the bright eyes smoothie and the smashed avocado toast and don't you dare leave without trying the watermelon mojito and blueberry lavender martini! It's 5:00 somewhere! True Food Kitchen, I cannot wait to see you again!

Fun, bustling, with great food and an adaptable menu

By Laura Marie |

When I describe the menu as "adaptable," I mean that people with all sorts of dietary preferences and needs will probably be able to find something scrumptious. The vegetarian options are clearly labeled, there are gluten-free dishes, there are a variety of ways to modify dishes by adding different proteins, and it seemed like the staff would be very accommodating to substitutions. We visited on a very hot Sunday afternoon for brunch, and our waitress was attentive and friendly, even though it was very busy. She kept our water glasses from every running empty without being intrusive or hovering. The food was delicious. When my egg scramble came out, I suddenly felt like adding toast, even though it wasn't on the menu, and a member of the waitstaff brought it over within minutes of my asking (and it was delicious). I highly recommend this restaurant for a casual brunch or lunch, and I would definitely return.

Dinner place

By ashokjhaveri |

Excellent restaurant for vegetarian and non vegetarian food. Very good ambience. Perfect view from the restaurant.

Healthy delicious lunch!

By Asatkins |

Eating healthy is so hard when you are traveling, however True Food Kitchen was incredible and left us feeling full and healthy! Located in downtown Austin, their menu was unique and delicious. The service was wonderful and they made great recommendations. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We’ll be going back!

Healthy and tasty

By Heather V |

I've dined here a few times over the past year and have truly enjoyed the experience - tonight was no different! Leaving out processed ingredients and focusing on fresh produce and meats truly does the trick. You feel nourished while satisfying your tastebuds, but never having that heavy meal feeling. The service is wonderful as well - I usually ask the staff for their favorite meals on the menu at that time, since it is seasonal, and have never been steered wrong. Make sure you get the crudite platter - it's a must!

Good not great

By Elizabeth |

Overall I’d say our visit was okay. With it being our first experience I’d be willing to go back and try something else. We made reservations for a Sunday afternoon, greeted immediately and taken right to our table. Waitress came over and asked if we had ever dined there before, and we let her know we had not. We started with the charred cauliflower and my husband got a peach tea and I a Dragon fruit limeade which was a seasonal special. Cauliflower came, no drinks, no waitress, entrees came, no drinks, no waitress. Finally half way through entrees she came over to refill our water and I asked about our other drinks. She said ohh the bar should have them ready by now. They were finally brought out. The limeade was great and refreshing. Cauliflower was good, very potent sauce. I had the chicken avocado wrap which was tasty, nothing super complicated. My husband got the special double vegan cheeseburger. He said it was good, lots of flavors going on and quite messy, as expected. As our meal was complete the waitress said they had a great dessert menu with key lime pie, chocolate cake etc. she said scan the QR code on the table and u can view the whole menu. There was 4 desserts. The one my husband wanted was the Avocado Key Lime Pie which the waitress mentioned. When she came to take our order she said they were out of it. So we just asked for the check at that point. Price point was average. Food was nothing so outstanding. Good yes. But I’d say nothing over the top. But I would go back to try something else. This is likely a place a vegan/vegetarian would appreciate.

Delicious

By Jacqueline P |

My daughter & I went there for lunch on a day trip from Houston. It was very busy but we didn't have to wait long for a table. I ordered a fig & feta tart. Not what I expected as physically flat like a pizza but absolutely delicious. Service was excellent & servers very attentive (I was given a few spoons of soup to taste as I wasn't sure if I'd like it), and prices reasonable.

Nice Meal - Great Menu and Tasty Food

By CharlieinTexas |

Ate dinner with my wife and some friends. Really varied menu with very good food across-the-board. We had, and shared, two pizzas which were small, but very tasty, loaded with fresh tasting ingredients. The poke appetizer was really good. Mediterranean salad was also good, my lasagna was full of flavor. My wife really enjoyed the spaghetti squash entrée and has gotten it before and looks forward to getting it each time we don’t here. Delicious Argentinian Malbec at a reasonable price for a restaurant. Friendly server. Not inexpensive, but good value. We prefer to sit outside, but the weather was really cooperating with that idea. Inside is fine, but when the restaurant is full, it’s fairly noisy.

Heathly, yummy, fun food!

By Sondra W |

I love this place. Everything is healthy and yummy. The dishes are creative, and bring in new ingridences which are fun to try! The cocktails are fresh, low cal, and creative. Everything I have had on this menu is delish!!! Great location and price!

What a gem!!

By djeps0n |

Just enjoyed a fantastic gastronomic experience at True Food Kitchen in Austin TX. We were looking for a spot with vegetarian choices for the wife and meat options for the carnivores. True Food hit every mark! From the edamame dumplings, hummus & margherita pizza to start to the spaghetti casserole, teriyaki quinoa bowl and 50/50 panang curry/ pad Thai bowl combo it was all superb. I think the Panang might have been the best I’ve ever had. Service was excellent, wine choices varied & reasonable & overall dinner was well worth it!

Fantastic healthy food

By glencoetraveler |

Boy were we impressed. Our daughter lives in Austin and we were visiting. We both eat very healthy foods, and my wife's diet is fairly restricted. True Kitchen had an amazing variety of foods to suit any health regimen. The 3 dishes we had were outstanding. Service was friendly and fast. I'd recommend this to anyone.

Would go back

By RodgerMJones50 |

Good menu, good food, excellent service from bartender who waited our table (evening of 10-27). One fault: The place projects a farm-to-table vibe. Yet Texas wines are missing from the menu. Some are produced a few dozen miles down the road. The menu has many wines flown in from thousands of miles away. Farm-to-table needs to be more than lip service. Stay local.

Consistent

By drmader |

Stopped in for a kale salad ..delicious citrusy dressing w Parm cheese , we added spring , chicken or beef patty . Clems well spaced interior .. always enjoy good service and good food

Really nice food and atmosphere

We've been here a number of times with extended family and the food has always been very good; fresh, nice presentation and tasty. Nice starters, solid mains and good service.

Honeymoon visit

By Josh C |

We walked to the restaurant from Barton Springs. It took about 30minutes and followed along the river and over a couple of bridges. The restaurant itself is in an unlikely location. We booked and were pleased to do so as it was very busy. There was an excellent selection of different and inventive alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. The service was good and the food was fresh, vibrant and full of interesting flavours. This really is an excellent place to eat and very different to offer places Austin is more famous for. Go and check it out.

Honestly, not worth the time and money.

By Stephanie D |

My friends and I had dinner here recently. We had a reservation for 8 and were seated right by the door (and it was freezing outside). We all wore our coats for the entire meal. I ordered one dish and they were out of it, ordered a second dish -- same thing. Finally ordered a shrimp noodle dish and it was forgettable. Very disappointing all around. Sadly - I cannot recommend.

Nice place to be with friends

By Maria Eduarda B |

I got the chance to go to True Food in my last visit to Austin and I really liked the environment. Is a place to have nice drinks and some light meals. Plates are well served, I would just say prices are a little bit higher compared to the other restaurants around but it was definitely a nice experience!

Chili's for Millennials

By Robert H |

The restaurant has a nice, open, rustic modern feel. It also is very large, serving mediocre food, with a nod toward being a healthy addition to your good diet, Consequently, the food was different than one would find at Chili's, But like Chili's, it serves not-bad but not-outstanding versions of the food on its menu.

Great weeknight dinner!

By Sebastian S |

Had a great weeknight dinner at True Food Kitchen in Seaholm! My friend and I started with a round of drinks and shared the edamame dumplings, which were incredible. He had the trout entre and I had the original crispy chicken sandwich--both were excellent. Even better than the food, however, was the service--Carleigh was kind, attentive and made our whole evening so much better! Will definitely come back soon!

Fabulous First Night in Austin

By debrafvl |

We arrived for our first visit to Austin last evening after a long day of travel from our still snowy Portland, Maine home. Hungry for a quick but substantial meal, we found True Food Kitchen on an internet site, and Ubered on into the city. The food was amazing. Healthy and oh so tasty. What made our evening absolutely perfect was the outstanding customer service. From the greeter to the server to the meal delivery person, we felt truly welcomed and cared for.

Delicious great service relaxed atmosphere

By Arthur A |

Read the title of this review...all good things. Their drinks were tasty although the kale based one was a little too Jake-tasting ie not enough of the apple lemon and ginger coming through. The food was delicious - we had 4 dishes in total inc one off kids menu. Server was nice, service efficient and atmosphere bright and breezy outside.

Awesome Lunch

By Arthur H |

Our friends from Austin met us at TFK and I thought "Health Food". But they KNOW the best places in to eat in town. We are from Ohio and have similar restaurants, but nothing like this. I had the ancient grains with chicken and it was terrific (and healthy). Did not really need the chicken though. I also had the Ginger sparkling water and it complemented the food very nicely. Other people felt the same way with a variety of dishes.

Love the outdoor patio and the food is top-notch!

By SkyGoddess77 |

I've been here twice, for lunch and Sunday brunch. Each time the food was exceptional. There is something for every taste! I highly recommend this place, and the location is fun.

True Food Kitchen - Seaholm District

By Michael E |

Unbelievably healthy food and a great atmosphere with exceptional service. This menu is perfect for vegetarians or vegans that will accommodate a wide variety of tastes. The juices and smoothies are unbelievable. Pact with kinds of nutrients and vitamins and all natural ingredients. You can order from the full bar as well. Located in the ultra-hip seaholm district, the outdoor patio out looking the industrial complex right in the heart of downtown Austin. This is a must go to spot if you want healthy food and you're anywhere close to downtown Austin.

Meal great parking not great

The turkey burger was very good and so was the cucumber salad I. Got with it as the side . Can always get a very nice glass of wine here . My wife got a type of veggie burger and a seasonal salad that was good . Nice to be so close to Trader Joe’s and get two for one . Great service . However the parking under Trader Joe’s is now 9.00 per hour . Very steep for an evening when the. Garage is not very full. Even with the free hour from the true food kitchen this is excessive .

Good atmosphere and food!

Fish tacos are amazing! I have craved them ever since. Loved the outdoor setting and reservations were quite easy. Will visit again!

The kids really loved their hamburgers. On person had the soup which was served lukewarm.. Not too good. One person had a great looking salad, but the best by far were the tacos. I would definitely get them the next time.

Good wholesome food

Went to this place with conference colleagues and had some of the best food in Austin. The appetizers were delicious, especially the kale guacamole and the cauliflower. The crudités vegetables were served like an art piece. Food options available for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters.

Ask for Maegan.

I always like the food at True Food, but this experience was exceptional. Our waitperson Maegan was so knowledgeable about the menu and was so personable, we had to tell the manager. Maegan suggested some additions to the regular menu that absolutely was spot on. We also roped in Chef Ben into our compliments. What a great team, environment and experience. Thank you True Food!
