Always a good place to find fresh seafood in Austin. Location is downtown and quite convenient. Prices are what you would expect for a place like that. Not too expensive however, not really cheap. They have a good bar with a good selection of beers and other spirits.

I've been to the Naples location and was looking forward to this meal. Awesome location with a bar downstairs and a dining room on the upper level that overlooks the Austin city skyline. Service was perhaps the best I've had in all of Austin. Superb! Food was amazing. Crab Louis was excellent. Lobster bisque was sublime. Miso seabass was stunning. I know! Seriously best meal maybe I've had in TX.

Alena was our wait-person. Terrific service. When have you seen a restaurant that offers you a variety of citrus slices for your table water? Or backlit menus (no pulling out the flashlights!) ? Just a terrifically beautiful place, not over-priced. We had calamari, sea bass, steak, lobster & lobster bisque.

Our server Patrick was very nice. Service was very prompt but rushed at all. The food was excellent. I would say this meal was the best we had in Austin.

My wife and I were celebrating in Austin and decided to have our first visit to Truluck’s. It’s a beautiful restaurant located in an old warehouse. I’ll start by saying the service was just as excellent as the food from start to finish. We started with the crab claw appetizer. They came pre cracked and were perfect. I got the scallops for my entree and it was nothing short of flavorful and amazing. Probably the most delicious scallops I’ve ever had. My wife got what I can only describe as the biggest piece of sea bass I’ve seen a restaurant serve. We were surprised at the end of our meal with a congrats dessert from the restaurant. When in Austin Truluck’s will always be on our list for a stop.

Always enjoy dining at Trulucks - love the food, drinks and service. We dined during Thanksgiving at downtown Austin location. Food was very good. Service was very poor. For a top end restaurant you expect good service - and every time we have dined at either this or another location the service has been attentive, engaged, not overly intrusive etc. Sadly this visit we left with a feeling of mediocre service (at best) as our server didn’t clarify questions with us, leading to us having the wrong drinks order taken, somewhat rushed overall and simply left us thinking it wasn’t very good. A real shame as the food was great overall.

While visiting Fort Lauderdale for an evening, I searched for a restaurant that served stone crab claws. We are nearing the end of the season. Truluck’s didn’t have any available reservations until 9:30 pm, but said the bar area was first come first serve. No wait in the bar. Marvelous martinis with blue cheese olives. Stone crab claws in 3 sizes. They were perfect! Cesar salad was yummy too. They even had entertainment—a pianist & singer. This was a pricey restaurant, but it was exactly what I wanted.

Excellent service and excellent fresh seafood. The staff went out of their way to make our anniversary dinner special even with personalized flambe dessert. Also, the live music added to the enjoyment of the occasion.

Truly one of the finer restaurants I’ve eaten at. Seafood was wonderful from the ceviche to the trout and crab cakes with 70% crab. Wonderful piano bar and singer. Great wine pairing by waiter.n will go back

This restaurant is simply amazing. It’s a true five star dining experience. The service was superb, and all of the staff were friendly and professional. The food was fresh, hot and very tasty. This restaurant is highly recommended, and the dining experience is unforgettable.

Best seafood in Austin hands down. Sea bass is life! And I would pick my Dad in the jaw for that carrot cake.

One word, Outstanding. On of the best see food establishment I ever been. I been in Baja, Mediterranean, California an so far the best. Looking forward to be here again. Services just like you expect from a top notch place.

Lovely interior greeted us as we were taken to the bar before going upstairs to our table. We were in a booth seating looking towards the huge windows with a view down to the street below. Our server for the evening was so friendly and very witty. I told him he belonged in the movie The Hangover because he had a wild/funny way about him! We had an amazing seafood platter to start and we shared a main as the platter was so filling. Everything about this night was perfect, food, service, ambience. In my opinion this restaurant deserves the title of number 1 restaurant in Austin.

We really had a amazing meal. It was a special event for us and they took really good care of us. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was very very nice. The manager went out of his way to make our day special. Thank you Trulucks

Went to Truluck with large party for dinner on a Wednesday; we were in the private room. Loved the bar layout and interior overall. The meal, which was pre-set due to the party size, was excellent though service was a bit slow. I thought the lobster bisque soup was excellent and a small but perfectly sized portion. The Prime Meatballs appetizer was very good. I do not know the actual cost per person, especially with wine, taxes and tip, as it was paid by one person that will bill us later. However, here is a link to the menu as of 5.4.2019. The two entree options included a filet mignon (oscar) or Sea Bass, and both were excellent. Desserts included an assortment of various cakes; the chocolate

Truluck's has always been my first choice when visiting the Austin area.My experience on this trip was very disappointing. The service was spotty. Great at first, but we waited over 25 minutes for main courses. Starters came right away. The broiled salmon was nothing special, basically no flavor at all. The crab fried rice was lumpy and bad. We sat in the bar area,

The food and atmosphere are great. Attentive service, live music in the Bar Area. Not mention the Stone Crab Claws!!!!

Need reservations. Even on a Monday night. The place has a nice warm ambiance. Nice music. There's a grand piano downstairs but I don't think it was playing. Orders drinks which included the voila which is their specialty. It took forever to arrive. It didn't have any dry ice giving the Smokey sensation. Let down for $16. They did have Duckhorn Merlot which was excellent. Taramasalata crab for starters. It was excellent and a large serving. The bone in filet was one of the best we've ever had. Dessert was the bomb. Baked Alaska.Lit up by flame with marshmallow and chocolate core. Shaun or waiter did a great job Highly recommended.

We were heading to another restaurant and found out it was closed due to a private party. We stopped here as we were walking back to our hotel and are very glad we did. They fit us in even though we had no reservation. Service, food, everything, just about perfect. I wish it were closer.. As far as price, you get what you pay for,,Enjoy.

Excellent! A great place to celebrate a special occasion or just enjoy a Happy Hour. Delicious food, great cocktails, nice music, friendly service, exceptional experience!

We met for a business happy hour and dinner; the place was really nice and we loved the food, the drinks, and the service. It is a little pricey but company paid so not so bad!

A group of 4 all of whom ordered different choices of seafood dishes so we got to share. The menu is first class as was the service by Donald. He is a pro and sets his service level perfectly with his understanding of the menu and daily offers. The wine choices are excellent and there are some really good value for money picks.

Great food! A little pricey but def worth it. I totally recommend the happy hour if you get early enough to find a seat !

Best seafood restaurant in Austin, love the dishes, love the service they really know what service is, good cocktails and wine list, good atmosphere and city view.

Great food and atmosphere. However, it is a bit pricey regular house not top shelf mixed drinks were about $15. Not somewhere you can just drop in you usually need a reservation.

I’m sitting at the table across from a very attractive person. We decided to stop & eat in before going out. It feels rather reserved here and not the type of atmosphere that primes one for a night out. “Stop now Peter or we will go to the car” sternly says his mother, I assume. The most excitement in the meal place. I’m ready to leave, as is my date. We asked for to go boxes. Finding the bathroom was an adventure. It’s hidden away in the back down a narrow hall. Time to dance right on out of Trulucks.

Had a fantastic meal at Truluck's. The food, drinks, and service were all excellent. We had the calamari, salads, my husband had the fillet, and I had the trout. Everything was great!

Couldn’t have had a better experience! My boyfriend reserved a table for my birthday. That took us upstairs and sat us in a luxurious booth. Wait staff was extremely attentive and even the manager stopped by our table. After a wonderful dinner of appetizers, bottle of champagne and entrees, they surprised me with a dessert for my birthday! They wrote happy birthday Stacey in chocolate and even had a candle for me to blow out. It was so delicious I ‘forgot’ to share and ordered another for my boyfriend. Wonderful ambiance, extremely clean and great location! Would recommend every try this place... all the food is exquisite with the desserts being amazing as well!

After a very reasonable Happy Hour we moved to the dining room for a fine meal. A great place for a special occasion.

Decor and atmosphere is great. Service is top notch and food as well as the raw bar are amazing. If you are in the city for a few days, you must not miss this place.

Trulucks is one of my wifes favs to go to in Austin. form ambience to the select dinner menu. of course, there is nice wine selection which given it is a expensive restaurant the wine is reasonably priced if you know your wines. I was there with clients and the stone cold crabs was something that many at the table had not had before and they were delighted with this appetizer. It got the dinner off to a great start. The dinner took some time but the timing was perfect as the guests enjoyed the banter. Will be back again but not soon enough for the wife!

Booked a table online and was advised upstairs - but we decided to sit at the bar since good live music and a good atmosphere. Good food and happy hour - perfect service behind the bar ! I will be back for sure !

We recently enjoyed cocktails and appetizers at the bar before our anniversary dinner upstairs. Everyone we had contact with knew it was our 35th anniversary. We were treated to an amazing complimentary dessert after our delicious dinner. We even brought home leftovers which were just as tasty the next day. Food and service are consistent ...always impeccable!

They always exceed the mark in friendly and helpful staff. Bartenders remember you and make great recommendations. Stone crab season is a favorite time especially. This is the absolute best franchise restaurant in Austin!

We were in town for a weekend as a group of 7 and had the opportunity to secure a reservation here. Food was fantastic. We had oysters, calamari, crab cakes, shrimp cocktail, tuna crudo, and scallops. Service was fantastic and food incredible. Some nice house cocktails as well

We had a reservation for over months to have dinner Thursday in Austin I got a call wed night less than 24 hours of our reservation that the restaurant decided to accept a private party . What? I asked them that they really sold out for money? Anyway the gentleman did offer to find me an other reservation- and he did. But not where we wanted and so not a Trulucks fan anymore .

Wonderful, delicious, and fun from beginning to end! Drink, apetizers and food was so perfect and delightful, Couldn't be better!

I has 7 of my family met for happy hour. We had a great time, eating, drinking, and talking. The piano player was good and not too loud. Prices are reasonable and service was also good even though is was very busy.

70th Birthday experience outstanding! 50th Anniversary experience outstanding! Mother's Day experience today "meh". First time at new downtown location. Nice table for 2. Appetizers OK. (2) Miso Sea Bass entrees: 1 very good - 1 dry, even tough. Waiter had too many tables. Coffee finally came after we finished dessert. Waiter comped our shared dessert and late coffees. Would have preferred prompt service. Note to chef: Rethink the Lyonnaise Potatoes (not up to snuff for Truluck's). Disappointing "Special Occasion" for us.

We were able to walk in and be seated in the lounge without a reservation. It happened to be happy hour so our drinks were half off. The service, atmosphere, and the food was all really amazing! I ordered the jalapeño salmon béarnaise and it was fantastic! I am so happy we chose to eat here. Highly recommend!

This was a very pleasant surprise when we entered--it was similar to a very upscale NYC establishment. The design is very sleek/modern that still is inviting. As you enter it is on the "bar scene" first floor--with live entertainment. The wine storage racks are really beautiful--they add greatly to the ambiance of the place, you are appropriately greeted in a very friendly manner. The bar was absolutely full when we arrived on a Saturday night at 6:00. The crowd was happy and animated! The food is good (not the best we have had in Austin, but still good), and the service was also above average. They have a large room (40+ people) for private gatherings. For us, the wine list was good and the atmosphere great! This is a place we will absolutely visit again. The good news is that the Lyft drivers know the place well and have no trouble finding it! Parking may be a bit of a problem; however, we did not see a valet and the lots around the area can be full. To make matters worse, they are working on the streets! It is far easier to take Lyft and safely get back home with minimal hassle!

The restaurant is stylish, and very, very noisy. Service is very good, though getting main dishes is slower than it should be. The wines are good. But the food is ordinary, over salted and over priced. There are many eateries that are better and far better priced. We don't plan to return.

This was my first visit to the Austin location. The food was excellent and service top notch. I didn’t realize the location until we arrived, and the views are lovely. Be sure and request and window table if possible. I will go back for dinner for a special evening for sure.

Truluck’s ruined an absolutely special occasion for me. They massively messed up and made me very unhappy with the poor, poor service. Sat our table an hour late, finally ate an hour after that and messed up everything in between. Never go here people!!!!

Very good food, Exelent service. On the pricey side, but worth it. For special occasions and non special dates

This is an excellent bar. The bartenders are usually top notch. However, if you can get one of the male bartenders they usually are better at customer service. I say this because every once in awhile when I visit downtown I like to have a cocktail or a glass of wine here and every time I have had a male bartender, they are usually kinder, attentive, and will talk to you. The females however are a whole different story. Unless you look like a Chad model, they will barely talk to you other than saying "open or closed tab?" without a hint of a smile. I have not eaten here yet and hopefully when I have a date one day I will try out their food.

We wandered in off the street without a reservation and really weren't properly dressed for such an elegant restaurant. We were offered a table in the bar area that serves the full menu. The staff was excellent and so was the meal! Surf and turf and crab legs. Delicious! We did not have room for dessert, but the trays going past us looked marvelous! I would recommend trying to leave room to try at least one of these creations!

Where to begin, the location is beautiful inside! The staircase and bar with a piano player is perfect! Large windows for natural light. The staff is so attentive and know what they are talking about. Amber was our waitress and she was phenomenal!! The food was too good to even describe and the portions are surprisingly large! Which is great! With fancy restaurants I often leave hungry and am disappointed with how much I spent. That is not the case here. Ahi Tuna, yellow tail, oysters and lobster bisque are my favorite go to’s.

The professionalism, the atmosphere, the quality of food, makes me feel that while in Austin you need to make a reservation to eat here. The seafood is terrific and the quality of the meats is above expectations.

When dining as a couple, we usually dine upstairs with a reservation but this is also a great spot for happy hour with friends. Delicious martinis, the tuna tartare, shrimp cocktail - whoa nelly it’s the best horseradish in town. Excellent service and valet makes it very easy. Doesn’t have a “chain” feel to it either.

We went to Truluck's for my birthday. The food was excellent, and the service was the icing on the cake. They make a drink there called the Viola (french pronunciation) it was like a "smoking" cosmopolitan. My filet was a bit overcooked. They removed it without complaint and returned in a few minutes with another, no charge, and no questions. Great place, beautiful, bar with restaurant seating upstairs. Outstanding dining experience.

Made a visit for our anniversary and it was magical. Our waiters, host, and everyone along the way to our table were so nice and accommodating. Table was sprinkles with red rose petals. 😊 The rolls were amazing. We ordered the oysters, calamari, lobster mashed potatoes, scallops, and special osso bucco. EVERYTHING was delicious. At the end we got a lovely baked alaska surprise for our anniversary. Super fun! Highly recommend and was quite the special treat! The live singer was fantastic too. A follow up call the next day was made to us just to check that we had a good time. ❤

We enjoyed sitting at the bar for happy hour. Really enjoyed the modern Manhattan. My friend had the smoking vodka drink. Very festive. We enjoyed the flatbread pizzas. The bartenders were great.

We arrived too early for our 9:15 reservation and they were extremely gracious. Everything we ordered was delicious as always. Unfortunately, two of us ordered crab as our main course only to have the waiter come back to tell us they ran out. It was disappointing. I love Trulucks so 4 stars anyway.

It was a last minute decision to stop and eat in Austin but as soon as we did, I knew where I wanted to go! The matre'd was most accommodating and we arrived to find a "Reserved" table. Best rolls and lobster bisque ever! We split the Caesar salad, which was a good choice because it was quite large. Amazing Shrimp Cocktail and, of course, crab claws. A true seafood lover's dream. Excellent service, too. Valet parking, so no worries about parking.

Almost felt like every member of the staff knew who I was and why I was there! Food was amazing, great wine, too.

Once in a while you stumble upon a place and dwell if you should try - this was one of those places which turned out to be good. A very budget friendly pricing for the neighborhood the restaurant is in. Overall a good place for budget friendly meal if one happens to be in the neighborhood

We dined at Truluck's in Austin at the corner of 4th and Colorado. They cold not have been more accommodating. They greeted our primary by name and made certain all of our guests had exactly what they ordered. Our group of five were picky and split entrees -- which the kitchen did so we didn't have to do it at the table. They were extremely helpful and kind. I highly recommend this restaurant for large parties, business meetings. Our small business dinner was a success. Thank you!

These guys run a top-tier restaurant. The service is impeccable. The food is quite good, but not cheap. Drink menu is solid. I was impressed with their generosity...I showed up with my son from a long drive across Texas and we were under dressed with no reservation. They accommodated us and showed Texas hospitality at its best. I will be back.

Overcooked Filet (that took forever to be served so sending it back wasn't an option) undercooked and cold vegetables. king crab leg (yes just one) was clearly under weighted, and side butter was not warm. Overall presentation was not up to the standard of a cheap chain steak house! Ridiculously over priced for the quality and portion size. a complaint was met with "uh sorry". No offer of future compensation!

Great food and service! Love the no hat rule!! Noise level and ambiance is excellent. Seafood is fresh, steaks are great.

Few places get it right and hit every note with perfect pitch. Trulucks downtown Austin is the exception. Our experience there Saturday evening for my wife's 56th was a symphony of epic proportions, and likely the only spot I can recommend in Austin at this level. From the service to the presentation and preparation of the courses, all four of us left the venue happy, content, and fulfilled. We felt like cast members who were allowed to perform in a 3 hour spotless Broadway production that featured an exceptional and engaging storyline that carried us magically from beginning to end. Kudos to Jenn and Patrick for making it that way. In the words of Douglas MacArthur, "I shall return."

Dinner last night -9/02/2019. Appetizers calamari and meatballs. Entrees: Sea Bass and Salmon. Desert: trio. Drinks: various cocktails + after dinner espresso martini. All delicious. Great service. Impeccable dining experience. Highly recommend!!

Good selection of food offered for happy hour. Food servers professional and attentive. Nicely decorated intimate bar with live music. Good for friends, singles or couples.

Great food, great service....all the way around, exceptional by any standards! Dined with 3 colleagues from work and enjoyed fantastic steaks / sea bass and an assortment of tasty sides! The Thai spiced cauliflower was especially interesting. Paired with some very nice grape juice....a good time was had by all! Thanks for putting out such a superior experience!

This was a birthday dinner...so a special night. The first thing our server asked was if there were any food allergies. One of us has a gluten allergy and we communicated that and politely declined bread for the table. All food items were delicious--cold items cold and hot items hot, but the service fell flat. Water glasses were not kept full, long period of time before our order was taken, longer than expected pauses between courses, only once were we asked how things were (after our mains were served) and then at the end of the night they very kindly brought a beautiful complementary dessert...that was full of cake and crushed Oreo cookies...clearly containing gluten. No other dessert tray was offered to us and we didn't ask for one. We paid the nearly $400 bill (that included our gratuity) and headed to our hotel. We were called the next day and asked about our experience. I related the good and not so good parts. I was told a manager would call later that afternoon to speak with me. No call came that afternoon. However, I was called several days later by a senior partner. He profusely apologized for the service challenges we experienced and committed to me that my concerns would be addressed with the servers. He offered me his email address and insisted to contact him should we plan to visit Truluck's in either Austin or Florida in the future. Summary: great food, expensive, marginal service, delayed, but EXCELLENT management follow-through. This could have been a one-off...but the food was tremendous and management took our concerns very seriously. We would certainly give them another to wow us! https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g30196-d469566-r670768531-Truluck_s_Seafood_Steak_and_Crabhouse-Austin_Texas.html#

Tonight my wife and I ate at Trulucks and last night we ate at Eddie V’s. The top two rated restaurants in Austin. While both places serve excellent food the experiences were very different. The food : I had the lobster bisque, wedge salad and prime rib. My wife had the scallops. While both delivered excellent food, compared to Eddie V’s the lobster bisque at Trulucks (spicier/darker) was my favorite (barely). My wife had the scallops at both places and preferred Trulucks as well. My ribeye was excellent and cooked as ordered. Overall for just the food experience Trulucks was slightly better. The service : This was the big difference maker. At Eddie V’s we had one server who was friendly, down to earth, genuinely cared about our experience and made for a great overall experience. One of the best waiters I’ve ever had. At Trulucks we had two servers. One introduced himself, never smiled and never said another word to us. The other (who took our order and did most of the serving) didn’t even bother introducing herself. They tried to take non-empty plates away without asking first. The first waiter to me was the stereotypical “stuck-up” waiter you sometimes find in a place like this. When comparing the overall experience (food and service) Eddie V’s wins going away.

We went to celebrate our recent engagement. The restaurant gave us a baked Alaska dessert to celebrate.

Truluck's sets the gold standard for food and service. Every seafood dish, steak, side dish, and dessert has been fantastic. For our anniversary they sprinkled rose petals on our table before we arrived. The servers are all knowledgeable, attentive, skilled, and give solid recommendations. What really blows me away is a call the next day to make sure they made our special event special enough.

Excellent food. Great service. Great ambiance. Specials were very good but pricey. Maitre D could have been a little more friendly-he seemed bothered by our presence and yes, we did have a reservation.

My lady and I went there for an anniversary dinner. The service was impeccable and the food was mind blowingly great. I got the swordfish and my lady got the steak and lobster. Everything was cooked to perfection. This establishment has mastered attention to detail.

We had an amazing anniversary dinner here. Everything we ordered was absolutely perfect and flavorful.

Tough to review a place that has had so much said already without repeating. I find the value equation of these high-end multi-city locations to be tilted heavily towards too expensive for the deliverable. I can always go elsewhere and better enjoy the $300 spent here. With big names comes big expectations. Service was predictable but professional. This was the best part -- ALL staff, from the moment we walked in until we walked out the door, took the time and effort to wish us Happy Anniversary. Truluck's knows you have another one next year! Well done.

First, you are greeted by a Maitre D who coordinates with an upstairs hostess. After climbing a curved staircase you emerhe into a white linen table area. The service was impecable. The only disappointment for the evening was the seafood tower - - the tower is the seafood tower presentation. It actually was a seafood platter. The tower is created from food you select. The mediterranean fish was super delicious and a full fish. Fantastic choice. Broiled scallops were nice and large. Rainbow trout was superb. Lobster mac and cheese was scrumptous. Desserts - baked Alaska was a special treat for a wedding. Carrott cake was large and super. Same with chocolate cale.

I had Chilean Sea Bass and it was just terrific. The waitress was excellent and the wine was also excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Mike

We walked in on a Friday night, without reservations, and were promptly seated, from the moment we walked in, to when we left, it was fantastic...

Lovely restaurant with live music, fun crowd and tasty food. But you know what I'll remember the most about this experience? Our AWFUL waitress who kinda ruined our evening. She seemed a bit put off that we arrived to our table with drinks in hand which we had ordered at the bar during our wait, but she was friendly enough. That is until I ordered a bowl of soup for my meal and the fake smile on her face literally fell off and her entire demeanor changed. Mind you, my husband and I had a second round of drinks and he ordered a $50 steak and salad and a side dish. We spent a total of $148.31 on our meal and drinks but apparently you're only entitled to good service from her if you plan on spending much more.... I know that this one waitress and our bad experience shouldn't dictate that we'll never visit again but I'm sure we won't.

Very welcoming place!! Great drinks and even better seafood and steaks!! Great atmosphere!! The manager was very engaging, attentive, appreciative that we were there! I really great dining experience

This is one of My favorite restaurant, excellent food and services the piano live Music Is wonderful , I love this place .

My family often comes here for birthdays, holidays, and special occasions. We love the fantastic service, food, and live music. Highly recommend the Lobscagot appetizer!

Location is fantastic, but a lot of construction was happening. Food was just ok. Nothing bad or amazing! We were a group of friends celebrating a birthday. Waiter was friendly and attentive.

I deliberately chose Truluck’s because I wanted live entertainment while dining (options limited with only others Eddie Vs and the BBQ shack). The moment I stepped in I knew I chose wisely. The main singer was a former American Idol top 30 contestant and she was fabulous!! I ate at the bar and met a regular, named Forest. Nice gentleman who gave me lots of tips since it was my first time in Austin. Started out with Oyster’s Rockefeller (ok), breaded trout (ok) and baked Alaska (not that’s what I’m talking about!). Desert tray is out of this world. I wanted to try everything. I forgot the bartender’s name...one of the older guys but he was awesome. Would definitely come again for a some great company and fabulous music!

Always amazing service and food!! They staff treat you like royalty and make each visit very special. If you are celebrating a special night let them know in advance.

Had an amazing time for our anniversary! Our server Kiara was the absolute best and will definitely ask for her any time we come!!

The attention to detail and the ambiance make it a perfect setting for a romantic dinner. The Florida crab claws were an excellent appetizer, as were the lobster bisque and wedge salad. My main course was the scallops dish and they were perfection. However, my husband’s filet and lobster left something to be desired in comparison to the same meal at lll Forks. If you want ambiance and a very good meal this is the place. If you want over the top, deliciousness, go to lll Forks.

We reserved a table for 9 pm. We thought it would be late but was perfect. We felt a little under dressed as the staff are sharp and put together professionally. We started with drinks at the bar and then went upstairs to our table. Our wait staff was the best I have ever experienced based on my restaurant preferences. The food was extremely delicious. I would give honorable mention to the Caesar salad, which had hand made dressing. It’s was amazing. We followed up with fresh bread from the oven. And by fresh I mean still so hot and perfect you have to let it cool for 5 minutes before devouring it all. Our main course was the swordfish and crab. Just Wow!!!! Not a single improvement to ask for. I would take my spouse here anytime and it would serve great for business meetings or groups of friends. TOP NOTCH!

The crab, shrimp and lobster were all amazing. We had a large group and they modified appetizer portions to feed the group. The desserts were also great. Several in our group loved the baked Alaskan...even ordering another later in the evening. The restaurant had a good atmosphere with a live piano player.

Truluck's serves fine food, well prepared and beautifully cooked. In a word, delicious. The space is very attractive and tastefully designed. Service is definitely attentive. If you enjoy being pampered, Truluck's is your place. The degree of attentiveness, however, left me a bit amused. I received a cordial greeting from the maitre d', as one would expect at a top restaurant. When the table was ready, he asked that I walk to the top of the staircase, where the hostess would greet me, and that she did. She introduced herself and welcomed me, and said to tell her if I had any concerns, before leading me to the table. My server Lorrie was definitely a seasoned pro. She introduced herself and asked what I had been doing that day. Like the hostess, Lorrie said to feel free to speak with her if I had any questions or concerns. She reviewed the menu and presented the specials. She provided excellent service. While I was deciding on my order, a gentleman stopped by and said he was a managing partner. And he made a familiar offer: If I had any concerns, please feel free to speak with him. He then left his business card. The following afternoon I noticed a voicemail on my telephone. It was someone from Truluck's, thanking me for coming and saying he hoped I had enjoyed my dinner. I did indeed enjoy dining at Truluck's. The Hothouse Tomato Salad and Creole Redfish were perfect as was the dessert of fresh berries with homemade whipped cream. Truluck's is somewhat pricy but worth the outlay, and its ambiance and food make it a good choice for a special occasion.

The service is always great, the food is always delicious and the atmosphere is suited to fine dining. Music is muted as is the lighting for dinner. This is where my hubby and I have celebrated may special occasions. Its a must if your in Austin and want great Seafood, flown in fresh daily.

Been coming here for years always as good as the last visit. Can't say enough good things about the staff and food.

Upscale, classy, impeccable service from the moment you step through the door. The upstairs tables all have a window view although the surrounding area is under heavy contruction while we were there in Jan 2021. Winelist has something for every taste and the menu offerings are high quality seafood and steak with beautiful presentations and sophisticated, delicious preparations. I had a nice portion of Miso glazed Seabass perfectly seasoned and cooked. My friend started with cracked stone crab claws with mustard dill aioli and then enjoyed a generous portion of large lumped crab cakes all of which rivalled any Florida waterfront seafood house. The ala carte sides and desserts are meant for sharing - do youself the favor of ordering dessert - the carrot cake was to die for and several tables around us appeared to enjoy beautifully presented baked alaska.

Great place and venue. Excellent service. Trulucks is always great for food and service. Never a bad visit.

Dinner on busy night. Service was great as always. Had the seafood platter. All fresh and filling. Added a salad. Then went right to desserts. Great cocktails. Great wine. All made for a great evening.

Truluck's never disappoints. The service is top notch. You feel appreciated the moment you walk in. Jenn our waitress was funny, personable, and knowledgeable about the food and wine selections. The Ahi tuna is delectable. We also shared a dessert which included a chocolate "bag" with cake and berries inside. We had to take half of it home but my goodness that dark chocolate was excellent with our red wine.

A fine dining restaurant with a very nice and nice environment. Good and pleasant service. The food was tasty and really good. The starter was probably the best we ate, tuna with avocado. Can really recommend the restaurant and especially if you want to celebrate a birthday.

This was a great dinner choice. We were seated upstairs and our wait staff was awesome. We had a large party (12) but everything was accurate and timely. Don't miss the crabs - either as an appetizer or main course.

The place feels like you are dining at a mafia-owned restaurant in New Jersey. There is a "slimy" factor to the employees, in my opinion. For example, we got there, and checked in with host (who might also have been the manager). He comes out from behind the desk, to vigorously shake our hands and welcome us. Despite a reservation and clearly open tables, he tells us "there might be a small wait. I'll have to check and see." I wasn't sure if he was waiting for us to slip him a $20 to seat us, but we just decided to wait in the corner. 10 minutes later, we got seated at a table that was vacant from the minute we got there (on the 2nd floor). Waiters definitely try and "sell up" at all possible instances. Yes, the food was delicious, but the bill, with tip and with a total of 2 glasses of wine and no other alcohol, came to over $300. They did call me the next day and ask if we enjoyed it and if we had any feedback for them. I told them we loved it and no other feedback, as I am not sure how to say "be less mafia-like" to their quality assurance person.

Still one of the most consistently high quality meals and service in Austin Texas, This restaurant offers excellence on everything it serves as well as an incredible dining experience. For a chain, it has established itself in Austin as a great place for romantic dinners, business meetings meant to impress, and such a nice ambience and is never too loud. Obviously the Stone crab claws are amazing and my favorite thing at this restaurant, but I’ve never had a bad dish or dinner ever in the last five years I’ve eaten there.

This is the restaurant we go to every year to celebrate our anniversary. It has incredible food, atmosphere is incredible, people and service are incredible

Yowza! Wifey and I love great seafood and this is amongst the best we've had anywhere. First: the ambiance. Wow! This is upscale and classy. The staff are dressed impeccably, attentive, and personable. There's no feel of snobbishness here, just class. As we ascended the stairs it just felt special. They greeted us by name as we reached the second floor. We sat at a nice table. Service was topnotch. We luckily joined them during the 2-month window when they feature South African cold-water lobster. At $120 a pop, it's not cheap, but hell you can't get stuff like this elsewhere. We started with fried calamari with blistered Shishito peppers and spicy red peppers: world class! The lobster was truly to die for: soft, succulent, delicate and delicious. We paired our meal with a spicy berry margarita for esposa and a barrel-aged old fashioned for me. We left satisfied in every way possible. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

From the minute that you walk in the door, you are made to feel like a special VIP. Excellent dinner, crab leg was cooked to perfection (could have been cracked a little better,, but i did not complain). Hubby had one of the fish specials, it was a tad lack luster.

Has become a tradition to eat here whenever we visit Austin. The service is very personable. The food is amazing. Everyone goes out of their way to make sure everything is perfect.

This place surpassed my expectations. Elegant and classy environment crowned with fantastic food. One of the best lobster bisque I have ever had. We also tried meat and crab and both were excellent. Service was attentive and precise. The wine list is ok.

We’re Truluck’s aficianados. Austin lived up to our expecations. Nice bar; really nice modern two story operation with a lot of glass. Terrific service, and great oysters and stone crab! Reasonably priced wine list.

Truluck’s is a fantastic spot for seafood lovers looking for a memorable dining experience. From the moment you walk in, the elegant yet inviting atmosphere sets the stage for a great meal. We started with the jumbo crab cake, which was packed with fresh, tender crab and had a perfectly crispy crust. For our main courses, we ordered the sesame-seared tuna and the redfish Pontchartrain. The tuna was lightly seared on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth tender on the inside, and paired with a flavorful sauce. The redfish Pontchartrain was beautifully cooked and topped with a rich, savory sauce that made every bite satisfying. Truluck’s offers both petit and large portions, making it easy to choose based on your appetite. The large portions are generous and definitely filling. For dessert, we tried the chocolate molten cake. While it had a deep, rich chocolate flavor, it was a bit too sweet for our taste—the petit size was more than enough. Service-wise, our experience was decent. The staff was polite, but the attentiveness could have been better. That said, the delicious food and upscale yet comfortable ambiance made for an enjoyable evening.

Excellent atmosphere! Went at Happy Hour. There was a pianist! It was lovely and the calamari was fantastic. Great, friendly bartenders.

Before I get started, I just want tell you Austinians what a hip town this is. We had so much fun walking around the town, listening to the music and and lapping up the drinks on 6th Street. Now to the restaurant. It sits in such an entertaining and cool part of Austin with the street of Music (6th), (4th) which is the gay street and the whole warehouse district. I had a friend with me from New Orleans and he said, "wow this is competition with NOLA." The restaurant is both elegant, fashionable and hip. Yet, it's not arrogant and dull. Our waitress was adorable, friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. I had incredible calamari which was not breaded or fried and it was exceptional. My friend had the Ahi Tuna which was impeccably seared pink and scrumptious. I had the ribeye which, again was yummy. Come here for outstanding food and entertaining character and then take a walk down such an awe-inspiring section of Austin. Prices are roughly the following: $15-20 appetizer, $49-55 steak/fish, $13-18 dessert.

Been going to Austin for years. Decided to go to dinner and wanted seafood. By accident decided to try Trulucks downtown. Wow. What an experience! Food was great. I had the scallop dish. My spouse had the salmon. Both were superb. What made this experience extra special was the attention the waitstaff gave to us. We were attended to by 3 different persons. It’s expensive but worth every penny. We will return.

If you love stone crab, Truluck’s is where you need to go. Everything about Truluck's is first class. If you have a special occasion to celebrate, they make it more special.

This is my favorite place to go for Happy Hour when I visit my son in Austin. We were just there Oct. 25. We sat at the beautifully lit up onyx bar. Our drinks were, as always, superb! The meatball flatbread, oysters, largest jumbo shrimp ever and, the highlight, jumbo stone crab claws were superb! Grab a spot as soon as Happy Hour begins. This place fills up fast!

We enjoyed celebrating our son’s 14th birthday together as a family of 4 at Truluck’s downtown Austin on MLK evening. The staff were very attentive and friendly, and the manager stopped by more than once to ensure we were happy. The surface paid parking lot across the street is no longer there but now under construction with what appears to be a high rise, but the valet was quick and easy and worth the $12 + generous tip. It was very quiet downtown, likely because of the holiday, which was fine by us. The food was excellent- we each had a cup of the amazing lobster bisque, then shared the Napoleon tower seafood appetizer. The hot rolls were a hit with our teen boys including the “fancy butter” and were served super fresh and HOT. We each got a different entree and shared tastes - our favorites were the seared tuna and the sea bass. I got the Atomic shrimp cocktail appetizer for my entree as I knew I wouldn’t be very hungry after so many appetizers, and it did not disappoint! This is a place we can only really afford to splurge once a year for a birthday or special occasion, and it was excellent and annual family memories were made. Total bill was around $75/pp + tip, and included 1 bottle of conservatively priced Chardonnay for the 2 adults and many nonalcoholic beverages for the kids (lemon pelligrino with fancy cherries). Highly recommend! 🦀🎉❤️

The cocktails, food, and service were exceptional! I can't remember the last time I went to a restaurant with this kind if service. We even received a phone call the next day to make sure we had a great experience!

Best dinner I’ve had in a long time. The steak was cooked perfect. The sides were paired wonderfully and they have the best wine selection around. The atmosphere is great for a romantic night but it also works for a family outing.

WE just finished lovely dinner at the Truluck"s restaurant ,it is our last night at Austin ,also I have to say good bye to girlfriends# 1 ,she have to going back to work in H.K ,it had been lovely six weeks together, so we want a classy quiet quality restaurant ,so I did read a lot good reviews about the Truluck"s Seafood , the ambiance is very relax and up scale , romantic ,we are dinning upstairs ,great views of Austin skyline , menu is very unique ,lot to choose from , steak ,seafood etc , it is not cheap place to come to ,but very moderate for fine dinning ,energetic staff , we order the Chilled Seafood to share ,,very fresh , I order the Sword fish Steak , ,,very good portion, and broiled it just right ,full of flavour , girlfriend order the Hawaii, Ahi Tuna ,very delicious , ,a very high quality fish , our wine glass never empty ,absolutely one of my top ten dinning experienced I had ,we both enjoy every seconds of it , so if you in Austin looking for a great Seafood restaurant ,this is the place !Truly recommend !

The atmosphere here is very nice. But we suffered a number of misses on our dinner. Two different vegetable sides came out undercooked. Asparagus nearly raw. The seafood was just okay. Not bad, but in all honesty, not worth the price. Try the Roaring Fork if you want a stellar piece of salmon.

THE BEST PATIO IN TOWN> or at least one of them!!!! jejejejeje But you reallly can't beat the views and the service combined anywhere else in Austin!

Fabulous dining experience with highly attentive wait staff. Quality of the seafood is beyond compare!

Truluck's is never bad, sometimes exceptional, but unfortunately often ordinary. Happy hour at the bar when the music is good is great fun!

Came here for a celebratory meal with co-workers. We had calamari for an appetizer and that turned out really nice. Wine options were pricey and hard to find reasonable value options but we settled on an Italian red for the table. Our group had a mix of steaks and seafood and enjoyed all the options ordered.

I took a friend from out of country here for a light dinner before a concert. We reserved a table on the second floor and the restaurant is VERY beautiful. The manager greeted us and we were promptly seated at a very nice table that was more private that most or so it seemed. The light up menus were a first but would certainly be nice for late evening dining. They have a nice wine selection and great cocktails but I do wish the beer selection was a little larger but it worked. We had a dozen oysters from Cape Cod for $4 each. They were extremely fresh. We also ordered the shirmp cocktail which has to be one of the best you can find in Austin. Both were server on a lovely tray on a bed of ice. We also had the yellowtail ponzu which was also excellent. I wish the waiter was a little more attentive but other than that everything was perfect I totally recommend Trueluck's at either Austin location.

We arrived at the restaurant without reservation, Andrew had a 2 seat place in the bar area but was no problem to get another seat. Katherine our waitress was outstanding. We ordered from the menu and everything was delicious. Our table was in a corner but the attentive of Katherine and her associate made us feel that we were the only ones in the restaurant. We are visiting fromCanada and were very impressed by the quality of the food and service

From the time you walk in, you know you made the right decision in choosing Trulucks! Our waitress, Noa was AMAZING and the food was delicious! Management definitely takes time in training and it shows! You will not be disappointed in making that reservation!

The menu was very well thought out and had something for everyone, including vegetarians and those with dietary restrictions.

Trulucks is one of the best seafood restaurants in Austin. The service matches the food and both are superb. Located downtown at 4th and Colorado, the restaurant is in the center of the downtown sector, within walking distance of a number of hotels. It is a great place to celebrate or to entertain.

I frequently dine at the downtown Trulucks and always feel like a valued customer. Food is excellent and service first class.

My spouse and I like this restaurant food and service level. It is my second favorite place for special occasions and that is only because of the menu selection. Every meal here has been top notch.

Terrible experience with the food.SALTY. Steak not prepared MR correctly...twice. Soup cold for 19 bucks and 5 oz. Are you kidding me?. This restaurant has serious issues. Labor problems. Food is really mediocre for the price...and I've been to a lot of fine dining establishments. Looks like a NY decor....out of place in Austin. Go to Eddie V's or Bob's Chop House if you want steak seafood. This place ain't it. I'll come back for the bar....no way on the table and 300-400 bucks later. Bad.

Recently dined at Truluck's in Austin and absolutely loved it! So many options for dinner and plenty of specials. Service was wonderful from start to finish. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

My wife and I went for their New Year's Eve dinner event. Our reservations were for 7:30pm, but our table wasn't quite ready. The people at the host stand were very nice, and offered their apologies and offered each of us a glass of champagne. When our table was ready, we were escorted up the stairs to the 2nd level. I could not have asked for a better table. Romantic and tucked away in a corner. Wait staff was great, recommending a dish to my wife who couldn't decide between two. Food was excellent. It was a prix fixe menu that included a selection of appetizer, main course, and dessert. The chocolate cake is to die for.

wonderful place to go during Christmas holidays - go in the evening and have drinks to the piano music and singer - then stroll down Congress and enjoy the holiday lights and activities.

Lovely spot and lovely food. We sampled some lobster and some great champagne. The lemon drop cocktails are also very good. The atmosphere here is excellent. A super place to get dressed up and have a great evening.

Service was great as was the tuna tower! Drinks are fun in the bar area . Wondful atmosphere with music. They have a great Cocktail hour in the bar.

Great dinner while visiting Austin, easy walk in downtown. Very elegant atmosphere, but at the same time comfortable and friendly. Downstairs had a bar and a piano player with soft music. Meal was excellent and good portions. Managers Chris and Ryan came to our table to welcome us and make sure we were comfortable. Patrick and the rest of the staff were also very friendly and professional. Very efficient service.

As many have said here in reviews of this restaurant it was a great experience from beginning to end. Each and every employee was welcoming from entering the door through dessert. Chris, the manager, seated us and turned us over to Christine who was wonderful to us throughout the whole meal. She was descriptive and informed on the menu and happy to make suggestions all of which turned out to be delicious! We had the chilled seafood sampler platter and it was huge and so good! It set the course for the remainder of the night. I had the Oscar filet and it was cooked to perfection. My wife had their Turf & Surf (not the other way around) and the lobster was one of the best she’d ever had. Ended the meal with the Baked Alaska and the meringue may have been the best thing I ate all night and that’s saying something. While very expensive, I highly recommend this establishment for the food as well as the service.

When coming to Austin, always like to eat here. Usually I'm there for happy hour and eat on appetizers. But sometimes, I do have dinner. Great food and expensive.

We have been to Truluck's about 5-6 times. The reception team does an excellent job capturing your history so when you make a 2nd reservation, they will remember a lot about you. Their martini's are delicious. I am a huge ribeye fan, but they also serve excellent seafood.

I returned to Truluck's and coincidentally had the same meal as a year ago--redfish Ponchartrain followed by creme brulee. It was just as good as last time. I was seated in a separate room next to the upstairs dining room which was nice and quiet. My bill was $45.47. Highly recommended!

The food here is amazing and I absolutely love the staff here!! Their oysters and other apps here are delicious as well!

Our party of 12 was treated to the best in service, food and wines. In our own room with personal service. Ab fab fruit de mer and deserts to die for.

We went for a late night dessert. The cheesecake was just perfect, very light and not too sweet. Great cappuccino as well!! Wonderful service.

Had dinner there at the bar this past weekend. It was late night and I wanted a great meal so I went to my old standby. I was not disappointed. I had the shrimp cocktail which is 5 large shrimp on ice and dry ice (for effect) with a great cocktail sauce. Love it. I then had a bone in filet which was cooked just right and served nicely. I had the bread which is a whole loaf of sorts which is almost 5 separate smaller pieces, but a nice complement to the steak I was having also. All was prepared just to order. Service was great, the team approach mostly, but that was fine. The staff there are all pros and have been there for a while and know their clientele as well as well as the great food and drinks they serve. Friendly and efficient and genuinely interested in their guests. A great meal, as always. Love when that happens.

We had a delicious dinner of all sorts of wonderful seafood. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. We had the escargot, tuna tartar and well as several other terrific dishes.

We went to Truluck’s for the first time and also our first time in Austin for our 30th wedding anniversary. We took part in the happy hours and decided to stay for dinner because we were so impressed with the service. Shout out to Quinn and Noah (sp?) for your excellent services, the anniversary ice cream dessert was a nice surprise and made our evening! We enjoyed the foods and the awesome Entertainment by the piano guy. Everyone is so friendly, welcoming and show us that they love their job which is so important for a great dining experience. We also love the vines and ambient of the restaurant, friendly, warm and not pretentious. We would recommend this place, price is a little high but you’re worth it !

My wife and I made a reservation with a note that it was our tenth anniversary. They greeted us with well-wishes and polite conversation as our table was readied. A few minutes later we were led upstairs to a beautiful table, decorated with flower petals. Every person who stopped by our table wished us a happy anniversary and it was very genuine. The food was perfectly prepared with my tuna being the best I've ever had. And there was a terrific singer and piano duo that kept playing the hits. :) A complimentary baked Alaska was gifted to us to finish off a truly memorable night.

Our server made our meal. He was great. The food was average and feel like you can get just as good a meal at Flemings or Capital Grille.

This is the family go to for special events. You can’t really go wrong with anything on the menu. At all. The carrot cake is amazing dessert wise and service wise they have made each event very special for us.

We love Trulucks happy hour. The appetizers are scrumptious and you get a true pour on the drinks. We try to arrive there around 4:30 because we like a booth and due to the popularity of the happy hour it gets very busy. Excellent wait staff and they have a piano player as well. Very nice atmosphere.

Absolutely the most elegant and lively dinner party. Live music at the bar. Service was impeccable for 50 dinner guests. Food was served fresh and hot as though our orders were for two instead of 50. Wine was perfectly matched with dinner entrees.

This place has the best mussels and drinks money can buy. The staff is really friendly. The prices are very affordable

We spent almost $400 for two dinners and didn't enjoy them at all. The lobster bisque was just OK but was served as a cup and not a bowl, very tiny yet expensive. The steak, cooked medium rare, was so tough you couldn't chew it. The only good thing I can say is that I ordered a drink that was horrible and they changed it to another that was much better without charging for the first one. I don't know. I'd stay away, and I'll never go back.

The best seafood in austin. My friends and I went out for an engagement party and the server was incredible. The apps were a great portion for sharing.

Don't waste your time, food isn't that great. Better food and experience from Ruth's Chris, Flemmings, Del Frisco's, etc. We experienced a manager that was extremely rude, at 3rd street Austin location FERNANDO NUNEZ, zero people skills.

Delicious fresh and good! Pricey but good, great atmosphere nice place for a special occasion. Great downtown location.

Happy hour at the bar is well worth it. Live music. Good specials. Can't beat half off bottles of wine. Crab leg was not worth it. Do the crab cake instead. Servers work as a team and were on top on everything

Amazing birthday dinner. Service and food were both excellent. We had a lot questions about menu items and our servers had all the answers and good suggestions too. This isn’t the kind of place we go on a regular basis, so we really wanted a special experience and we were not disappointed. King crab was good. Wagu beef melted in your mouth. It’s an expensive dinner for four, but worth every penny.

Great food and excellent service. First class dining experience all the way. This restaurant will be on my must list every time I come to Austin.

Food and service remain excellent, but I really miss the old location, the old menu and the old cocktails. The 400 Colorado location had my favorite bar in any city. I’d go several times a month. The new location bar is 1/3 the size, with no live jazz music, lol and no ambiance. I’d often go for the bar and stay for dinner. But no longer. Also, the old menu had better appetizers, but the biggest crime of all is they dropped the chocolate martini (khalua and chocolate liqueur with a Hershey’s rim) and replaced it with a nondescript espresso martini. It was my go to, but I no longer go for the bar and only go to Trulucks once a year now.

Very good, the service was personal and no waiting time for food to come as well as other bread it is worth the visit

Excellent restaurant for a romantic dinner. I loved the atmosphere and the service was great too. Christine was amour waitress and she surprised us with a complimentary baked Alaska to celebrate our anniversary. There was live music in the Lower level. The music was background music where we were seated.

I’ve never had a single negative issue at this seafood and steak restaurant. Excellent service, superb wine list (and wine room dining room). Excellent for date night or family event night. The upstairs tables have an awesome view of the Austin skyline and the downstairs tables have a slightly more energetic vibe. Great by the glass wine equipment that allows a significant wine selection by the glass. Top 10 or top 5 consistently excellent restaurants in Austin. Perfect spot to first eat and then head out to the downtown entertainment scene.

Truluck’s always impresses. My wife isn’t a fan of seafood but she loved the Lobscargot appetizer. I had the Salmon béarnaise which was incredible and she had the best steak in her life. And don’t forget the amazing dessert! Truluck’s is expensive, but worth every penny to celebrate special moments.

This was an incredible experience. We had the lobster bisque and several other dishes. This is a must dine if you are down town ATX. They had a desert called the Alaska something. I had two of them I swear it. The seabass was some of the best I've ever had! Thank you Andrew for taking good care of us. Much ❤️

It’s an old school approach to hospitality, which I can appreciate...but it goes too far. The scripted approach from the host, bartenders and staff was not authentic. It’s forced and uncomfortable. The service is efficient and attentive, good marks there. Food was excellent quality. In the end, I was uncomfortable with the formality of language, service and demonstrative interactions. It’s like I’m having dinner at my rich grandmothers house and my mom is telling me to mind my manners.

The restaurant did a wonderful job making the evening as romantic as possible The table was very appropriate with rises and low light The waiters were very sweet and treated us special
Just OK
The food and service were just ok, not what we were expecting for the price. Do not order the crab stuffed tomatoes ($42!) the tomatoes were hard and didn’t taste like anything and the crab wasn’t good either.
