Everything trip to Dallas includes a meal at Truluck’s. Earlier in our trip, we ate at Ruth’s Chris, which wasn’t memorable, so I was really counting on Truluck’s to deliver a great experience.....and that met and exceeded my expectations. We were in town as a celebration trip for our 20th anniversary and they made it memorable. You can’t go wrong trying the stone crab when it is in season, and they have about the best crab cakes that we have ever eaten. Our server was attentive but yet didn’t hover by the table. If you want a great experience in Dallas, Truluck’s would be my recommendation!

Excellent location right in the heart of uptown Love the upscale/ fancy ambiance restaurant with a lot of natural lighting, 2 levels with all glass windows. Very astonishing! Live music Prices are on the higher side but certainty not unreasonable given the quality The service was top notch of course and there is complimentary valet parking The wine list is extensive, but beer selections are fairly modest. They have Stone IPA, one of America's great beers. Pros: Garlic bread - Amazing was fresh and fluffy The Prime Meatball" appetizer, It was so moist and juicy - The rib-eye that melted in your mouth The unami sea bass that was out of this world. We also had the asparagus with hollandaise and enjoyed as well Love the deserts ( carrot cake, chocolate cake & cheesecake) Cons: Shrimps cocktail - (not fresh, taste warm) Lobster bisque - it has a goat cheese flavor and chalky than I had anticipated. Wedge Salad - Ok Next time we will try the 3-course power lunch special for $30 (great price) All-in-all this is a very solid establishment. We would definitely go back for the next visit in Dallas

Wonderful choice of seafood, great wines, huge portions, very friendly service, beautiful dining room.

The scallops were awesome. The tuna tartar was beautiful and great. The shrimp cocktail is practically a show with dry ice smoke coming with the presentation. Lobster bisque was another hit. The atmosphere is elegant and understated and service fantastic.

There are thousands of restaurants in Dallas and you will be spoiled for choice, but very few has such amazing entertainment. I stopped by Trulucks to meet a friend and came across a lady by the name of Shilah Phillips DeShazo. This girl should be on stage as she is that good and I am sure she will be found very soon. Between her talent, great service from the bar and excellent food. Trulucks is the place to be. Call before you go to make sure she is singing as she has other venues.

We had tuna tartare and crab cake for appetizer. Absolutely delicious. For main course my husband had the scallops which was a very nice portion and I ordered the yellowtail, great flavors and cooked to perfection. The wines and bubbles are priced on the high side and the dessert was a bit disappointing, ordered the impressive chocolate tower stuffed with berries and cream - it looked better than what it tasted, not enough cream/berries, cake was dry and the chocolate shell was a bit too thick, too hard to cut. I would go back but next time would have cocktails somewhere else and skip the dessert here, everything else including service was great!

I absolutely fell in love with this place. Omg the atmosphere is so sexy. Saturday nights they have live music I suggest sitting in the bar the vibe is awesome!!! Not only did our food surpass anything I’ve ever experienced but our server Whitney was the BOMB! She was so attentive and patient. She comped our appetizer because it took too long with us even saying anything. That’s amazing service! Our meal was incredible! I’d recommend the scallops. We will definitely be back again and again. Well done with this establishment it’s exactly what I needed on this vacation.

Everything we ordered was great and service was on point. Definitely a place you can dress up for and a perfect place to celebrate a life event. The bar drinks were strong and very good as well. There's plenty of parking or you can choose to valet.

My husband and I come every chance we can for Happy Hour or dinner! This is top notch seafood and service! The drinks are also excellent! Everyone at the bar area are amazing. Also the new restaurant is beautiful.

We ordered crab cake, salads, seabass and salmon. All were delicious. They have an amazing wine menu but we decided to give cocktails a try and we loved them. We will definitely have more dinners here.

Sat at bar. Very nice vocal artist. Crab app was little over cooked. Shared a prime strip which was very good but barely warm. Lobster mashed potatoes not very good and again not warm and extra $25. Creamed spinach ok, again barely warm. Wine was fine. Bartender never even asked how was the meal, fairly disinterested in the whole process. Unfortunate, expensive but not special.

My husband and I went there for the first time for a late Valentines lunch. It was absolutely wonderful and we would give it a clear five 5. The food, ambience, and service was outstanding and our waiter, Juan, was magnificent! We each had some of their crab claws for an appetizer and really enjoyed them. We were not crazy about the mustard sauce, but we asked for some clarified butter and as you can see from one of the pictures, they nicely brought it to us. We loved the warm hand towels they brought afterwards and the light scent with them was very nice as well. My husband had a filet mignon and would clearly give it a five 5. He said it was wonderfully seasoned and perfectly cooked. I had the salmon with crab and shrimp over mashed potatoes, and it tasted absolutely divine to me. I asked him to put the jalapeño Bernaise on the side, and I enjoyed it with it, but I'm not sure I didn't like it better without it. Whatever the case, it was clearly delicious! My husband had their mac & cheese with crab on the top and he said that was absolutely delicious also. He would give the mac & cheese side, a clear five 5. We both had some of the bread and he would give it a five. I was not crazy about the Parmesan on the top, but he was, however, it tasted very fresh and I enjoyed dining on it with my main entrée. We both splurged and each had a dessert. I ordered the petite carrot cake with butterscotch sauce and it was DELICIOUS! I'm not even a carrot cake lover, and I loved that. I was shocked at the size of it, since I ordered a petite size, but it was very yummy! My husband had the cream brûlée and he thought it was wonderful. He said it was creamy with a good vanilla flavor and was the epitome of a good crème brûlée. I also must brag on their water, it was absolutely wonderful! I have to be careful with making sure that I drink filtered water and this clearly surpassed any expectation I had. It was wonderful and was the only thing I even drank. My husband had a French press coffee with his dessert and he enjoyed that too. The ambience of the restaurant was absolutely wonderful, although it was during lunchtime. We would clearly go again and recommend this for a special evening. I think we will drive there again sometime and embrace another lovely dining experience.

I went here twice during my trip. On 12/28 I went with my GF for a dinner date. Our server was Michael, and he was probably one of the nicest and most knowledgeable servers I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Our food was excellent, the drinks were perfect, and the atmosphere was really nice. Mike, the GM, checked on us a couple of times, and made sure our experience was living up to our expectations. I went again on NYE, I was going to meet up with my GF later as she had to work. I arrived around 9:00 and the lounge was packed. I found a table in Melissa’s section. I had a really good meal, and once again the drinks were excellent. Melissa was super nice, and made sure I was well taken care of. Brent, one of the bartenders, is friendly and nice, and takes care to ensure you’re taken care of. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Dallas.

One of the finest crab cuisine I’ve had. I took my wife for dinner during our last trip, warm reception from host, excellent service from Cresencio, our waiter, and excellent dishes, everything we tried was perfect… fried calamari, lobster bisque, sea bass and big lump crab cakes… key lime pie for dessert… everything was perfect.

We have been to Trulucks many times. First time in a year. It was our anniversary and decided to celebrate at one of our favorite places. As always the food, service, everything was perfect. We have never been on our anniversary though and let me tell you they treat you very special for this. Every staff member knew it was our anniversary and always came by to come congratulate us which was nice. When it’s your anniversary they put rose pedals on your table to make sure everyone knows. We wrapped up our dinner with complimentary Baked Alaskan. I will be honest I am not a big sweet eater and have never had one. It was one of the best desserts I have ever had. So I strongly recommend Trulucks. And if celebrating a special occasion I would say these guys will really take care of you

Warm greeting as soon as we checked in and led to the upstairs restaurant. Nice music in the background made the whole evening enjoyable. Food is exceptional , wine list expansive and the service from Jose matched. Personable, engaged but not over the top. It was my wife's birthday and they capped the night off with a complimentary baked alaska. While a bit pricy, it wasn't outrageous for a 5 star downtown restaurant. To me, well worth it to get a great night!

My wife and I dined here on the occasion of our 24th anniversary and we could not have been more pleased! The food here is superb and our waiter Adam had that knack for being attentive without hovering. The Manger, Mike greeted us and made sure we were well taken care of and while the meal was certainly not inexpensive I’ve paid more and gotten less elsewhere.

One of the top restaurants in Dallas. We have never left disappointed. The service is outstanding and consistent. The food is amazing. The ambiance is elegant and romantic - ask to sit by the windows. An excellent choice for a beautiful meal.

The food at Truluck's was absolutely superb. Their wine selection was extensive, however, most of the wines were over $15 a glass. We had the ceviche for our appetizer, it was amazing, but I wouldn't recommend it if you don't like spicy foods. I had the filet mignon and South African lobster tail. The filet was flavorful, tender, and could be cut with only a butter knife. However, the lobster was by far the best part of the meal for me. I can honestly say it's the best lobster that I've ever had. Paired with the lemon butter they bring you, it's to die for! The restaurant is rather pricey; Just be aware that the sides and toppings that they recommend you add to your meal are extra, and the bill won't be that much of a surprise to you.

I give this place a 5/5. The food, service, and wine list was excellent. The ambiance was perfect for our date night. We will definitely be back!

First of all if you come here for seafood you have to get the chilled seafood celebration appetizer! What I believed to be the best part! Fresh selection and excellent oysters! Ambiance is nice and tables are set far enough apart that you have a certain level of privacy unlike other high end restaurants in Dallas. I had the scallops and another guest had the filet and both met expectations. But unlike the other uptown high end restaurants I felt that the vegetables were not prepared as well as the rest of the food.

It’s our last evening in Dallas. We decided to go to Trulucks for a nice dinner. Elegant! We did not have reservations, and yet they were very accommodating. Juan our server was excellent, cheerful and attentive. Our Salmon and Scallops were cooked to perfection, as was the asparagus and broccoli. That’s saying a lot, because we are picky about our seafood. Prices for our meals were under $40 each. It all made for a very elegant pleasant evening.

The food was so good! They offered a summer 3 Course Menu—$59–per person was a surprising selection of great food choices. For the starter we went with the succulent lobster bisque and the perfectly prepared wedge salad. Somehow they’ve found the best bleu cheese suppliers in the region. Oh, don’t forget to order the bread and butter! It’s the best bread I’ve ever tasted at a restaurant. For the main entree my wife chose a medium rare 12 oz filet mignon. It came out hot, perfectly seasoned and you could cut it with a butter knife. I chose the lightly seared tuna. It comes with mashed potatoes, ginger, lemons and a little wasabi. Everything was perfectly prepared and presentation by the best wait staff. Thank you, Lauren for taking such great care of us. Your suggestions were gold. You truly went the next mile with those extra amerretta cookies. Wow! Those were good and paired perfectly with the French press coffee. Simply divine! We opted to take the desserts back to the room. And we boxed up all our leftovers from our wonderful anniversary dinner. The Bread Pudding, topped with peach bourbon glaze was our favorite. So good!!! And my with always gets a piece of Carrot Cake for the road.

We had very good waiter. Wonderful food and service. Waiter knew the menu and specials very well. Was most helpful

I am basing this review on a take out order. My boss chose Trulucks for our company Christmas party. The food was really good, although the order was a bit messed up. Although I didn’t get the salad I ordered, the calamari I did get was delicious. The dessert portions were huge! Big enough to share, although I didn’t. Have reservations to visit later in January. Looking forward to it.

My husband & I were in the bar last night… Dinner/Drinks/Music What a great time. All 3 were excellent. Ariel.. our waitress was charming & professional. We shall ask for her again. Marcos…our wait help was great & gracious. Food (Stone crabs..) Excellent And don’t get me started on Clay The music and his talent should be enough to guarantee a great night

We went to Truluck's in Dallas for my daughter's birthday. We had a nice time. I had the ribeye steak and my wife had the scallops with mashed potatoes. She said it was good. My steak was good and we enjoyed our time there. They brought a baked Alaska for my daughter's birthday, so that was very nice of them.

Everyone in my inner circle knows this is my favorite restaurant in Dallas and this year my niece and her hubby were the first to speak up and say they were treating me to my birthday dinner. Our service was outstanding (prompt yet not intrusive). We had Alaskan king crab legs as an appetizer for the group of four. I ALWAYs get the stone crabs if they are in season (October-May) and they were excellent on this visit. My hubby always gets the miso sea bass as an entree and he did on Friday night and loved it as usual. My niece had a filet which she said was delicious. Her husband was the adventurous diner and had the whole red snapper. He will most likely have a filet or sea bass as usual in the future for his personal taste. The cocktails were mixed perfectly and we had a complimentary Baked Alaska for my birthday meal dessert. I cannot wait to go back for another meal!

My wife and I with reservation. Friendly greeting and immediate seating at the dining room upstairs. Liked the walk upstairs to be met and seated at the table. Dining room is classically decorated with nice large windows. Time for new carpet Trulucks.....Very friendly, attentive, and knowledgable server. Expansive wine list but that was the first mistake, ordered one wine but first served a different year (not really okay for more expensive bottles and certainly with Bordeaux - year matters at lot as it applies to quality/price). The positive is how our server handled it and did in fact find the year we ordered. Great looking menu and specials. We really enjoyed the Ponzu appetizer. We ordered the Petite Filet w/ Lobster Tail and Jalapeño Salmon Béarnaise. Petite Filet and Lobster Tail were on-point but Salmon abject failure. WAY overcooked. Gave over my lobster to feed my wife. Simply put - that salmon should not have been plated and allowed to be served. Act Chef asleep at the wheel or doesn't care. You choose. So....can the chain Truluck's be great? Maybe....but it was not for us and they won't get another chance to disappoint. At their price point and advertised "quality", such mistakes sink the experience.

They have African lobster, catches of the day imported from Florida and other areas, and the best seafood entrees and sides. I ordered the crab mac and cheese, lobster bisque and halibut with pilaf rice. See pics for deets. Service and food were 5/5.

Was out of town on Valentine's Day so my husband and I made a reservation for Saturday evening. This is our go to place for special occasions. The management and staff are always friendly. The lobster tail, scallops and mashed potatoes were awesome. I was feeling adventurous and tried the Kung Pao cauliflower and was disappointed; it didn't taste authentic at all and couldn't finish it.

Starting off with the stinky fishy smelling shrimp cocktail, to the twice ordered and reordered over cooked, commercialized filet. Sadly, The dinner just got worse. Parmesan mashed potatoes with huge scallion chunks that was un-chewable. We replaced it with lyonnaise potatoes that were over fried and over salted...... hummm does that sound like a lyonnaise? After completely being disappointed, the waitress says to me that my lemonade wad not a complimentary refill!!! As a tourist in Dallas this was a horrible dining experience and I am so sad we wasted a $300 dinner at Trulucks!

Walking distance to hotel zaza. Live music in bar with hopping bar scene. Food was excellent and distinctively prepared. Make a reservation and come early if you want a seat at the bar. Overall a great place and we will be back

Seafood was excellent, service friendly but a bit off: my wine arrived after my app and waitress asked if I was ready for dessert while I was about 2/3 through my dinner. But a lovely place.

Friend of mine swears by these but this was my first visit to one. I liked the food: both grilled salmon and salmon Bearnaise were excellent, cooked just right to be juicy and tasteful. The wedge salad was good, but Oysters Rockefeller had too much spinach and not enough herbs and crumbs. Wines were very expensive. Service was good. This place describes itself as “Upscale seafood”. I don't know about you, but on my books upscale dining and loud pop music do not mix.

The ambiance of this restaurant is perfect. We were a party of five - seated at a table with a view. The wait staff was attentive without being obtrusive and our meals were all delicious. Stone crab for three and two different fish dishes for the other two. Deserts were fabulous! Do have the Baked Alaska! I would love to go back to just sit in the bar and have a drink.

Service was spot on, and the menu items were all delicious ! Crab claws, lobster bisque, crab cake, caesar salad, escargot, tuna tower, salmon, yellowtail, NY strip ... it was all terrific !

We’re not seafood eaters but we’re here on business. The food was very good, surprisingly. Our waitress, Amanda, was easy to work with while we found non seafood options. We had the wedge salad, delicious! The meatball appetizer was amazing! Ordered the chicken and Parmesan mashed potatoes, good again. And cheesecake to end the night!

On the positive: Very pleasant and inviting dining room, super professional staff and not imposing. We (couple) had crab claws and oysters Rockefeller, salads and coffee. Superb food execution. On the negative: somewhat slow service (specially the wines), white anchovies filets in Cesar’s Salad were too strong, music still too dominating in volume. A beautiful dining room like this does not need music. We will absolutely be back. Loved the place! Highly recommend!

This wasn’t our 1st dining experience at Truluck’s but was our 1st visit to this location. We arrived 35 minutes early and the hostess sat us within 5 minutes. Our waiter, Ben, took great care of us. My wife and both had the Prime Alaskan King Crab legs and they were great!

Overall is was ok. The stone crabs were pathetic.. on a Friday night they had only the smallest ones available. This place is specifically famous for its stone crabs. Steak was under seasoned! It tasted great but it tasted like it was marinated in pink peppercorn and grapeseed oil. The best thing about this place was baked Alaska and spending time with my family.

I went here for my birthday and it was awesome. I enjoyed the food, drinks and service. We went on a weekday and it was not as busy. We had crab, lobster and everything was excellent. This restaurant is pricey but worth celebrating MY birthday! hahaha I'm a leo...

One of my go to restaurants in Dallas. Great happy hour with live music. The best Sea Bass I have ever had and the staff is amazing!

The food and service at Trulucks is excellent, we have almost never be disappointed. Last trip thought we had reservations for 5 but were made for only 4 and they could not accommodate us upstairs. Had to sit in the bar area. The music was so loud it was annoying. We were one of at least two tables that left. The waitress was equally frustrated as we were not her only table that evening to opt out

Our family of 4 ate at trulucks last night and our experience was a mixed bag. The service, lobster bisque and sea bass were all very good. However, my husband and daughter both ordered the steak filet “medium rare” which should be a warm red center, but they both arrived with a cold red center that looked rare...honestly it looked raw! They both sent it back and it came back only marginally better. The manager checked on us and took one look at my daughters still rare steak and took it again to cook it more. By the time it came back, her potatoes were cold and the rest of us were done eating so we just watched her eat...it was weird and unpleasant. So, we sent food back twice and still paid full price. My husband also paid the price for not sending his back a second time as he was up from 3-4am sick in the bathroom.

Went here to celebrate my hubby's birthday dinner. It was perfect. I had a great area to sit, ambiance was perfect for the occasion, social distancing was fully practiced, the waiter was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, drinks are really good and what can I say.....the food was impeccable. Definitely a must go!

What an impeccable evening. We were celebrating our anniversary; our server, Lauren, and the restaurant made it very special for us. While everything was top tier, the crab cakes and stuffed lobster tails were the big winners…and the Baked Alaska as well. This was the kind of memorable dinner we were hoping for.

I have eaten here many times, and have steered many dozens of folk here, over the years, but have never written a review. first, the bad news: it's a bit expensive. next, the good news: everything else! this place is just so professional, that it is a pleasure. From the person who makes a reservation on the phone, to the person showing you to your seat, everyone is friendly, and very professional. Your waiter or waitress will be great. The food is always impeccable, whatever you order, you can be assured that it will be superb.

The worst restaurant i ever been in Dallas ! The manager and bartender were extremely rude and the food was mediocre for the amount of money they charge . For whoever is reading choose another restaurant if you are out fir fine dining . Trulucks is one of the worst . Avoid it

Trulucks is usually a sure bet at any location but this time it was not! We asked what flavored vodkas they had and the first one was Deep Eddy's Grapefruit. Two of us ordered that. More than 15 minutes went by and we were told they were out. After much discussion about the choices for silver tequila, we ordered Casa Amigos. Again, more than 15 minutes went by and we were told they were out of that too! Meanwhile we were waiting on two of the three appetizers we ordered. We settled for a different vodka and a glass of wine and waited again for those. The appetizers were good and we got our entrees in a reasonable amount of time and they were good. But the evening ended with a cappuccino that took a while to get to the table and was room temp by the time it arrived. In hindsight, the waiter should have offered to comp at least the drinks or we should have asked for the manager.

Ordered the oysters and the miso glazed sea bass. Very poor quality food for the price. Oysters were ok, but considering the reputation of the place, I was expecting a better choice or quality. Seabass was gritty and under cooked, and the famed crab fried rice was greasy. Service was fine, and things looked ok, but...There are definitely other better options for seafood in Dallas.

Great Ambiance! Delicious food! Terrific drinks! Truluck’s has the BEST Lobster bisque I’ve ever tasted!!!! I’ve tasted a lot!

We celebrated a friend’s birthday here. The dining room is beautiful and open with lots of natural lights. The parking lot is huge for being in the Uptown area. We started off with the calamari and crab cakes. The squid was rather on the rubbery aide (ie probably old) and my crab cakes had shells in it (probably a new employee back in the kitchen getting the crab meat out). The clam chowder is different but very delicious. For entrees we had the salmon bear side which was fresh and perfectly cooked. We also had the miso glazed salmon which was also fresh, perfectly cooked and great Asian flavors. Alex was our server and she was very attentive and friendly. I could not ask for better service. Overall the food, service and ambiance was very nice. I would return again for their fish dishes.

My wife and I went to Truluck’s for the first time to celebrate her birthday. Our experience was amazing. We were initially sat next to the staircase leading down to the bar area (which was rather loud), and when I requested a different table, the staff quickly responded to help. Our server, Mike, was very friendly and did a great job making recommendations, presenting the menu, accommodating our requests, and answering any questions we had. My wife had the wedge salad and the surf & turf. The lobster was some of the best she’s had. I had the lobster bisque and the sea bass, which was amazing. We greatly enjoyed our evening and would recommend Truluck’s to anyone looking for a nice dinner or to celebrate a special occasion.

First off, our server, Chance, was absolutely excellent. He was efficient, personable, and anticipated our every need. Great guy! For appetizers, we ordered the Crab Cake and the Crab Cocktail. The flavors were superb, but...there were tiny flakes of the shells in the cake and the cocktail. Major detraction. The Caesar Salad was probably the best we ever had. Wonderful. For the entree, we had the Turf and Surf, with Bordelaise, and the Filet Oscar Royale. The sauces were very tasty; the steaks, however, were void of any taste/seasoning. It's as if they relied on the sauces to carry the steaks. Also, one of the tenderloins had a large string of gristle running through it. The ambiance of Trulucks is great. Fabulous view of downtown Dallas, spacious, and comfortable. However...the main restaurant is on the second floor, accessible only by a long, winding staircase. I'm sure there was an elevator somewhere, but we never saw it and the hostess didn't mention it. Also, the restrooms are on the first floor, behind the bar. A long walk down & back up the staircase in mid-meal. To Truluck's credit, the manager did stop by to see how everything was; we chose not to ruin the moment by complaining. We did get a call the next day asking how everything went; I didn't take the call because the number was suspiciously similar to several spam calls I've received (not Truluck's fault). All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Truluck's is without a doubt the best seafood in Dallas. Steaks are good as well. You need to have the " Crab Fried Rice" , the best !

So I was really excited to go to this place. But admittedly, the weather was really bad. Cold weather can make anyone really cranky. The server was a bit rude-- trying to tell us how to order a martini. After 60 years of ordering martinis? really? The food was good. Not bad, not great. But good. It was my daughter's birthday and so we had a complementary baked Alaska. All in all, the venue was nice. The trio was terrific-- probably the best part of the evening. I would really not go again.

First and foremost, downstairs bar area servers offered outstanding service and were very attentive. However, once seated upstairs for our dinner reservation everything went downhill. Both crab cakes and king crab mac/cheese had large pieces of shell in them that could lacerate your mouth. Our server asked if we were ordering entrees, and we said we were ordering a bunch of appetizers and drinks because we needed to get to the symphony. From that point forward, he completely ignored our table and needed a signal flare to get him to come by every half hour or so. Escargot was under-cooked and nothing ordered with exception of prime meatballs was finished in a party of five because it was all mediocre. It was if the ghosts of Helen Keller and Ray Charles were guest chefs. The Maitre D was notified of the service/food quality and made no effort to rectify the situation in anyway. With a dozen amazing fine dining restaurants within walking distance, we were perplexed with the lack of service and quality. We would have had a better time updating Windows while eating a Hungry Man microwave dinner. The original location in Addison was outstanding, so we were disappointed this location has gone downhill. Our party had both carnivores and vegetarians and both were disappointed. Even the asparagus wasn't good, how is that possible? To screw up Crab Macaroni, Crab-cakes, Escargot, Asparagus and everything but the meatballs is quite difficult.

We were in town en route to Fort Worth for my daughter's colllege softball games, stayed one night at Hotel ZAZA and on a whim decided to try to get into Trulucks. NOT TO BE MISSED, food is out of this world fresh and the staff is some of the best I have had - I wish I could recall the name of our waiter but he made the night!

We celebrated a big anniversary with our son and his wife with our first visit to Truluck's. I generally shy away from large chain restaurants, but our experience was very successful. Several of us started with their justly famous lobster bisque. It was definitely among the very best I have ever tasted. My main course miso sea bass was also truly fabulous. My daughter-in-law had the huge crab leg which she said was delicious. The lobster mashies appeared to be simply mashed potatoes with lobster bisque. A lovely French chardonnay was a perfect match for our meal. We received a comped baked Alaska for four for our big occasion. The views of the art center buildings through the large second floor windows were impressive. We will be back.

Visiting Dallas and had prior great experience atTruluck in Chicago. The Chicago people told us about Dallas so we thought to try. Early dinner at 6:00. Greeter at door friendly and personable. To our upstairs table in minutes. Busy bar by entry was full. Live music at bar on a Friday. Greeted immediately by server. Drinks and appetizers of hot crab cake and parmesan rolls were delicious. Lobster bisque soup followed and entrees of salmon and sea bass. Chocolate cake was six inches high, best ever, and shared as well as part taken back. Ordered drinks were correct and wine by bottle can be corked and can take with if not consumed. Worth a trip to Dallas. Dress for men jeans up to business. Women were a little dressier. Cost for two with drinks and bottle of wine was around $300.

This was a good meal and the service was good. There was just nothing special about it. It didn't seem like there was anything here that you could not get in any other non-costal city at a nice seafood restaurant.

Very cosy and exclusive restaurant in Dallas. Always been my favourite. My visit today was not on same level as before. I wonder if more people think the same, because pretty empty for a thursday evening. Lobsterbisque as starter was good, but not wow. Then fresh crabclaws from Florida was amazing, my main reason for coming here. Ribeyesteak was a big flop. Overcooked and not great meat quality. They only have 1 sauce in this steakhouse, what on earth is that?? The bernaise they had not even good. Where is demiglaze & peppercorn sauce? Service was friendly even my waiter forgot my saucec & sideorder. Its a very high price in Truluck, then they need to step it up an deliver 100/100 like they always did before.

Looking for a real cut above seafood restaurant in Dallas? We’ll this is itI I thankfully decided to choose Trulucks for my birthday dinner. As it turned out, this dining experience was one for the books. First off, the restaurant itself is a marvel of architecture with great interior design. There were beautiful fresh cut flowers everywhere, including our table. These people get service like very few. Examples? The moment we entered, we were greeted by a smiling host genuinely wishing me happy birthday who made my wife and I feel extremely welcome. We were then gently escorted to the second floor where were shown our lovely booth where we would be for the next hour and a half. Our waiter Riley deftly did the honors with aplomb. After examining the menu. I had some questions. He ended up providing thoughtful suggestions to choose the well-known seafood specialities of the house so my birthday would be even more complete. To begin, I opted for a Sonoma Greens salad with spicy pecans and goat cheese, as well as a half dozen oysters on the half-shell. After the first bite, I knew we were in for something special. In order to get the best of both worlds, Riley had rightly recommended half of the prime king crab claw, as well as a medium sized lobster tail. The meat melted in my mouth with divine delicacy, in-between devouring shared vegetable pan-seared broccoli-fantastic! My wife’s Trout Amandine dish was equally delectable and delicious. She was surprised by the rather large portion accompanied by Parmesan mashed potatoes. Then another surprise awaited us in the form of a rare dessert-Baked Alaska that they prepared for us. Furthermore, it was on the house. I must say it was the best I’ve ever had. Not only did Truluck’s and it’s staff exceed my expectations, but it turned out to be the the most enjoyable birthday dinner I’ve ever had. I will be definitely be recommending Trulucks to all my friends and will absolutely return. It was worth every penny. In my opinion, it has the best customer service in the business. Both my wife and I were very impressed by how passionate the restaurant servers and help were. As a hard-core foodie and someone who makes a living in the Customer Service business, I can honestly say other Dallas restaurants could learn a thing or two about how to truly satisfy your customers. Shout out again to our waiter-Riley.

Steak or Seafood. Either way you can't go wrong. We went with the halibut. Cooked to perfection. Great sides. White table cloth service which was very attentive. Sophisticated atmosphere.

We celebrated our 33rd anniversary here. Get reservations early. Super service and excellent wine and food. Sea bass was amazing. We tried to return for a birthday but we needed to reserve earlier...lesson learned. It’s a fabulous place!

At here on Monday and little did we know they had all you can eat Stone Crab Claws. Had kjoq idea a place would even do that, much less a high end place like Truluck's. This place is upscale, but comfortable. We observed several families with kids of various ages and we had our teenagers. Needless to say, the prices are inline with a high end restaurant, but all you can eat Stone Crab for under $90, what a deal. If you've had Stone Crab you'll know. So other that Stone crab, the table had Bone in filet, prime king crab, king crab cluster (yes it was crab night!) and Salmon. For dessert we had their chocolate bag. You'll have to look it up, a bag made of chocolate, filled with various fruit, pound cake and icing. The entire meal was WOW! Servive5 was outstanding. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Expensive meal, so it's a rare treat, but we really enjoyed it. Recommend it, but you may need to say up some change.

This looked like a lovely restaurant to have seafood at. The menu looked tempting and the restaurant was very inviting. The food was excellent quality and a wide selection of various seafood to choose from stop. The reason I’m marked down was that we hadn’t finished our appetisers when the main course was being brought out. So there we are stood with two plates of entrees while starters were only half done. A dilemma : do we send it back, do we accept them, why the rush! A truly, so far, lovely evening was ruined by this. One was expected by high-quality establishment like this to check how patrons are doing with their starters to ask if they were ready for their main course, or at least give them 5 to 10 minutes between courses. For this reason I won’t be returning. In mitigation the food was good.

We celebrated our anniversary here on a Saturday night. Make reservations early as every table filled. Service is fantastic, seafood is excellent and wine list was superb. The bar is downstairs so the dining patrons are upstairs making it a very nice enjoyable not super loud place. I had the sea bass and it was so very tender. We will be back!

If you like seafood, don’t miss this one. Fresh oysters from six very different regions were cold and delicious, as was the Branzino. Had one of the best white wines ever (Hilt), which they were trying out. Lighting is always a critical element for us when dining, and this room was lit perfectly. Service was top notch. Only suggestion--get better cutlery. For the great wine glasses and setting, you need to spend more on silverware.

The food was very good, the service was good, a bit slow though. The price was on the high edge for what we got.

I was in town for a conference and went to Trulucks for dinner which was delicious. Very good lobster bisque, great fish dinner, and great carrot cake. Wait staff was knowledgeable and attentive.

The atmosphere is intimate but not stuffy. Greeted and seated immediately. No less than 3 managers came by to check on us through the course of our meal. Our server was super attentive, but not annoying. I love that they offer you several options of fruit or cucumber for your water, it's a nice tough. Had dinner there with my boss and husband. We bought several things and shared them since we just couldn't decide! My husband and I had the Clam Chowder and Lobster Bisque, which were both great. All three of us shared the Hot House Tomato Salad, Florida Stone Crab Claw Platter, with asparagus and mashed potatoes and the Miso-Glazed Sea Bass with crab fried rice and slaw. Everything we ate was delicious! Prior to my boss telling us about Trulucks, we'd not even known it was there. We'll be going back there to try out that seafood tower!

Service was good. Especially for our large group in a pvt room. Several of us ordered the sea bass and were greatly disappointed. The seasoning was very sweet and intense. I wouldn’t have known whether it was fish or tofu. The crab fried rice bed it was on was incredibly salty. None of us ate more than a few bites before giving up. The folks who ordered steaks were very pleased though. The appetizers were pretty good except for the crab cakes which were very fishy. Desserts were excellent.

I met with a few colleagues here during their lunch break. The service was fast and attentive. Dawn was our waitress. She did a phenomenal job. I had the vegetarian bologenese, which was plentiful in size and very flavorful. A colleague of mine had the the 7 oz. filet. He stated that it was tender and well seasoned. They offered a solid selection of wine and cocktails. They offer valet parking at no charge. I would suggest making a reservation via the Open table app prior to going. Overall, the experience was exceptional.

Now with new management the place has stepped it up a notch. Great Job Mike! the service is great only to be outdone by the food. Then the deserts just top it off!

My husband and I celebrate the anniversary of our first date every year. This was number 60! We always like Truluck's for their consistently good food, service and ambiance. I asked for and got a table near the floor to ceiling windows where we could see the downtown skyline lit up after the sun went down. Very romantic! The main dining space is on the second floor which is quieter than the downstairs bar but still has a nice, energetic feel to it. Javier, the manager on duty came by to see if everything was alright. It was! Ricky, our server was attentive but not intrusive. Perfect service. The food, as always was delicious, especially the complementary baked alaska dessert.

Celebrated our anniversary at Truluck’s and it was wonderful. Greeted and escorted to our decorated table and introduced to our server Juan, who was attentive and gracious. The manager stopped by our table 4 times to make sure everything was perfect. It was! All the food ( shrimp cocktail.crab cakes, trout almandine and drinks) were perfect plus the were beautifully presented. The big surprise was a Complimentary flaming baked Alaskan which was delicious. It had coffee and vanilla ice cream with chocolate cake - the combination was outstanding. Highly recommend.

Lunch was amazing. While it is an upscale it isn't snobby. Their stone crabs were amazing and the tuna was delicious! Service was top notch!

Great live music! Wonderful lobster tail, terrific bread..oh my!! Enjoyed the ambiance, huge bar. Cool bathroom.

The restaurant is comfortable and not too loud to hear conversations. Delicious sea-food.. Crab was marvelous. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was a lot of fun. All delicious, so would recommend. Food was great with it's taste. Will come again. Thank you.

Had been wanting to try this for a long time. Very nice higher end seafood and steaks. Stone crab claws, mac and cheese, scallops, Miso Sea bass. Followed it up with a sampling of carrot cake, chocolate cake, and vanilla cream brule. Everything was impressive including the service.

Service was surprising...the waiter didn't know the main ingredient for many of the mixed drinks on their cocktail list but it doesn't help that many on the cocktail list don't list the ingredients. One party member had the steak and it had so much grizzle on it...and the server didn't notice and ask when the plate was taken away with so much meat pieces left on it. The seafood was awesome but PLEASE don't use so much butter when making the stuff lobster. New bread is tasty.

Went there together with a friend for dinner, and it was an excellent choice indeed! Food was delicious, our server was fantastic, the place is nice and clean, and I enjoyed every moment at this restaurant. Highly recommend this place.

Restaurant came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Food was delicious and the service outstanding. Live music was an unexpected bonus.

Went with my wife and granddaughter. Service was impeccable and the food was amazing. They modified my granddaughter’s steak. She likes it plain with French fries. My wife asked if the crab could served cold rather than warm as they usually serve it. No problem. I had the whole baked red fish and it was spectacular. We have never been disappointed. Try it. You’ll love it.

During a visit to Dallas for her birthday, my mom found Truluck’s on Open Table and we decided to give it a try for her birthday dinner. It was a lovely experience. The food and service was great. Everything was delicious from the Riesling to the exciting seafood appetizers and the deliciously softly warm bread. Our entrees were perfect. Our server Jessica provided exceptional service and went above and beyond to ensure that no dish was served with lemon or lime since my mom is allergic to those citric fruits. The hosting staff was very helpful and Brennan, the valet, took great pictures upon request. We look forward to a Truluck’s opening in Washington, DC next June. This is a jewel in Dallas. Enjoy!!!!

My wife and I went to Truluck's on a Sunday night with a reservation made a few days ahead. We've been here a few times before and love their seafood. We were seated within a few minutes of arrival at a nice booth. Our waiter was great and had small conversations with us. His suggestions were very tasty ( wine and crab suggestion). My wife had the Prime King Crab Leg and I had the Dover Sole. The crab leg was definitely the best we've had. I never had Dover Sole and it loved it. It was juicy and tender. For dessert, we had the Baked Alaska which we loved as well. When it's served, the waiter lit it on fire.

This is a very interesting restaurant. We had never been to Trulucks, and since it is rated so highly, we thought we should give it a try. The restaurant is beautiful in a Las Vegas hotel restaurant sort of way. There is a very large bar area downstairs with live music, and a large, grand staircase leads you upstairs to the main dining room. Our server was very nice, not particularly experienced or savvy as a fine dining server, but pleasant and hard working. The ambiance was the most disappointing. It felt like a very average restaurant trying to pretend to be high end. If you are someone who doesn't go to a lot of fancy restaurants I don't think it would be very noticeable. But compared to similarly priced fine dining restaurants in Dallas, everything felt a little cheap, fake, and put-on to try and seem high end. The food quality was ok …. we were really disappointed in the crab claws. We spend a lot of time in Miami and go to Joe's a lot, so maybe that is why we were disappointed. The fish we had was fresh. The preparations were not the best, but not horrible. I don't mean to sounds so critical and snooty, but at this price point, there are quite a few restaurants in Dallas I think are a whole lot better … Al Biernats, Abacus, the Mansion, Salum, Perrys, Fearings, Eddie Vs, Pappas, etc.

We went to Trulucks after watching Shen Yun at the Winspear I loved the atmosphere. Tremendous bar to sit and have a drink. The service was excellent. The staff was very attentive to our needs. The best of the experience was the food. I had the Pacific Swordfish. It was very good. Don't miss ordering the lobster mashed potatoes. It is a side item but I think that was my favorite. It is expensive, though. It is a place to go on special occasions. It was my birthday.

Right here in the hart of Dallas, fresh crab claws. All you can eat on Mondays, but always great when they are in season. Service is wonderful, great happy hour.

We were greeted at the door and the hostess was very nice. We choose to sit at the bar and the atmosphere was excellent. They have 2 TVs on one side of the bar and live music on the other. The two who were preforming that night were great. My wife and I got the sampler appetizer for 2 and it was perfect. Oysters were amazing and tasted fresh as did all the seafood on that trey. The cocktails were less than steller. The House Old Fashioned was ok, kinda weak but tasted ok, and the Original Old Fashioned was horrible. It started out really good, but all whiskey was on the top and once 1/3 of the drink was gone, it was like drinking syrup. The Ahi Tuna was wonderful and my wife's fillet was cooked perfectly but our sides were cool. Our waitress knew something went wrong in the kitchen because of how long it took and checked on our order twice. The dessert trio was delicious. Carrot cake was the best we have ever had. So in short, the apps, main, dessert, and bar atmosphere were great. The sides and drinks were less than desirable. For a $200 tab, I expected well made drinks and hot food.

We were delightfully surprised at how delicious everything was. Our "tired from days of driving to Dallas" dinner turned out to be a very special evening. We're coming from Maine and were guarded about having seafood mid-country, but really no need. That was the best crab cake either of us had ever had (husband is from MD), and everything else - Sea Bass, Bronzino, Alaskan Crab was perfect. The Crab fried rice with my Sea Bass was more crab than rice! Even the asparagus was remarkably tasty. That kitchen knows what it's about. Our server & staff were also lovely. (No idea what that other complainer was talking about).

My wife and I weren't super hungry, but looking for a great place to relax. We were scanning menus of places near where we were staying in the Vicotry Park area of Dallas. True to it's name, we found Truluck's. We had the Chilled Tower for 2 with Shrimp, Oysters, Stone Crab Claws, and Lump Crab Meat. We followed this with the Oysters Rockefeller and Escargot. We then enjoyed the Carrot Cake, which included an awesome topping. All was washed away with several glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon. Throughout the evening we enjoyed the piano and singing. An awesome two and a half hours. Skyler waited on us, completing the experience. Truluck's is highly recommended.

Enjoyed our anniversary night at Truluck's -- we actually started off in the bar area -- our server was amazing and we hate to leave for dining room - so we stayed put and were so glad we did!! The entertainment in the bar was amazing -- 2 lovely ladies - sang songs throughout the night - they were both terrific. We enjoyed the shrimp cocktail appetizer and the tuna tartare tower - and went to a steak for our main course -- all were amazing ! Finished off with the baked alaska which was inscribed "Happy Anniversary" -- truly a wonderful 16th anniversary - Thank you Truluck's == we appreciated the great service and excellent meal -- highly recommend !!! Reservations a must!

Beautiful location in uptown Dallas! Service was great! And the food lived up to the hype! Will for sure be back!

We were staying nearby and stopped in here for a drink and a snack based on a previous great experience at their restaurant near O’Hare. They have a happy hour at this location but no food is included. They are also state 25% off spirits but that does not include cocktails (or at least our bill was not discounted.) They had an unusually good wine by glass menu price wise though it was unclear if that was a happy hour menu or not. Since we had reservations later on for dinner we just had drinks and an order of the salmon crudo and randomly, some rolls. Rolls came out fresh from the oven in a small pan. They were wonderful but served with the most tasteless butter that had ever existed. Salmon crudo was delicious. Very dill forward, which may put some people off but was just perfect for my tastebuds. Salmon was high quality and the portion was generous. At 15, the cocktails were a deal. The Key Lime martini was just sweet enough and the old fashioned was solid. I also had a glass of cava which was served in the long flutes that have become a rarity.

Riley!! Had a business dinner and we decided not to leave Riley at the bar for our appropriate reservation. What an amazing experience! Riley had very little direction from us on what to cocktail us, but we were all amazed and thrilled. Seriously, walk in, ask for Riley and let him delight. Your welcome. :)

Very nice upscale restaurant. Food was outstanding as well as the environment. Very nice bar area with live music 7 nights a week. Service was outstanding also. The filet minion was outstanding and all reasonably priced Would definitely recommend

Went recently with friends for dinner - what an amazing place - our server Dave was charming and attentive but not intrusive - Everyone’s meal was wonderful - I had the salmon bernaise which had lots of crab in it. The crab legs were fresh and flavorful

My husband and I spent last Saturday evening at Truluck's to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I hadn't been to Truluck's since the major renovation of the place, and I was pleasantly surprised. I feared it would be too large now to have the intimacy and moody classiness that it once did, but I was wrong. The lighting is romantically dim (but doesn't leave you in the dark, squinting at your menu!), the tables and booths are nicely spaced, and the entire restaurant is tastefully appointed. Our appetizers and main meals were exquisitely prepared, and we weren't rushed; that's a pet-peeve of ours at some other fine dining establishments. Customers should never be rushed through a meal, but especially one that they're paying $250 for. The ahi tuna tower and lobster bisque were savory highlights, and the baked alaska dessert is among the best I've had anywhere in the world. What made the evening perfect, however, was the spot-on service. Our server, Hugo, was attentive and friendly, unpretentious and professional, polite and never pushy. He made us feel at home, listened to our questions and concerns, smiled a lot and seemed completely at ease. He was right there when we needed something but was never over-solicitous or hovering. Thank you, Hugo! We've been dismayed by the drop in quality of service at some of our former favorite fine dining establishments in Dallas. Also a lost art in Dallas these days is that of using music to create atmosphere. We loved the jazz. It was magical to hear the live music from downstairs in the lounge piped up into the dining room.Thank you, Truluck's, not only for the great food but for the excellent service and ambience: we'll soon become Truluck's regulars!

...a bit expensive — $16 for a Tito’s is over market. The meal, however, was excellent and the serving was generous. Our waiter was very courteous and accommodating by not rushing us as we visited with friends we had not seen in a number of years.

Came here at 5 pm before Christmas symphony at Meyerson center. We had two great steaks here. The table was by the windows. Waiter was David, he was fantastic. He made several suggestions that were on spot. He knew his wine also. The wine list is long but excellent. Had escargot and lobster bisque before the meal. Both steaks were cooked correctly. The flavor was excellent. Great cuts of meat that was tender. The food presentation was excellent. Everything was perfect at this facility. Waiter was A-1 here. All the team was great. It gets busy on a Friday night so make reservations early. Valet parking here. It was a wonderful first time experience at this place. We will come back. It may be a little expensive but is a great date night out place in the Dallas Uptown AreA. Close to the AT&T center also. Give them a try sometime.

I was very disappointed with hospitality messaging. When we arrived the bar was packed and we were told by the hostess that the seating was first come first serve, not an issue. We were provided wonderful service by the bar staff who were very attentive. A table was leaving so we quickly walked over to secure the seating and we were told that the table was reserved? We questioned the server and we were told that the table was reserved for guests arriving shortly. How you can have different rules for different people is not correct.

Crab claws, tuna tower, yellowtail were all exceptional. Salad was wonderful. Gresh, clean. Service spot on, great place for business meal.

This has been the best place for seafood that I have found in Dallas. it was the only place I could find that sells stone crabs that are shipped directly from Florida. The atmosphere and the service are outstanding and the menu items as well as the wine list are incredible. It is not the cheapest place for the price you truly get an excellent experience for your money.

What a divine lunch!!!! At table and service. Outstanding cracked crab claws- all nicely cracked AnD the most perfect Bellini in the world ‼️‼️I want more please

Celebrating our 35th anniversary we reserved a table at Trulucks. We were not disappointed. Starting with a mix of oysters which were fresh and delicious.. with an added champagne dipping sauce that was delicious. We next had the most wonderful lobster bisque… I believe they have a horseradish goat cheese in it that added creaminess and a bit of spice! Wedge salad was on point. We also had large Stone Crabs that were perfection… along with their creamy mustard dipping sauce.. superb! They were kind enough to bring to our table a baked Alaska to celebrate! A must eatery! The service was exceptional.

We were greeted by the General Manager who opened the door for us upon arrival and acted like we were old friends or his best customers. We have been to a lot of fine dining restaurants all over the country and we have never received such a welcome! He was truly welcoming and it was impressive. We had made reservations for my husbands birthday. This would be our second visit here and probably our last. The restaurant upstairs is beautiful and the ambience is comfortable and the music was great too. Our server was a lady, she was o.k. not as polished as you would expect in a restaurant like this. The shrimp for an appetizer were large and good, nothing to rave about. The Wedge Salad was good, the Lobster Bisque was not hot enough. The scallops were good for my husband and I decided to go for the $99 Lobster Tail that they say is the Rolls Royce of Lobster. Well I would like to meet the person that coined this phrase because I definitely do not agree. When you go all out by calling it the Rolls Royce and that single entree is $99 it better be unquestionable. I've had lobster in many places in Las Vegas and Florida. To date the best lobster I've had was in Ft Lauderdale and it was a Caribbean Lobster from Jamaica. The lobster at Truluck's, had a lemon butter on the top of it with parsley, probably because without it, it has no taste at all. They also bring you a side of the lemon butter and I personally prefer simple drawn butter which I requested. The drawn butter made it better but it was very disappointing to spend that much and not enjoy it It was just blah and tasteless. But what can you do, you don't feel like sending back a $99 lobster. So my answer to this is simply not to return. Furthermore, they are very proud of their Baked Alaska for special occasions. We tried to hint at the beginning of the meal that when it came time for dessert, we wanted a dessert menu. She didn't get the hint. After our meal we asked again and she replied that they had a special dessert for us. We had to tell her we wanted to try something new because we've had the Baked Alaska before and it's not our favorite. I can say when they light it on fire, it does make for an impressive show if you've never had it done but eating it is another matter. We don't like tasting charred meringue. We ordered the Carrot Cake as did a couple of other tables and that was the best thing we had all night except they charged us for it. So you'll give us Baked Alaska for no charge but if we want something different for our celebration, we have to pay for it. That sort of rubbed me the wrong way. So there was just not anything to make us want to make a third visit. There's too many nice restaurants to keep coming back here.

My wife and I recently visited Dallas and I told her that she was finally going to get to eat Dungeness Crab! I called a few days ahead so we were lucky enough that they managed to get some. She was clever to get me to order the Dungeness and do all the peeling and picking while she got the Stone Crab Claws. We also order appetizers--the Crab Cakes were to die for--practically all crab, the way they should be--and the Oysters Rockefeller were the best we've ever had! After all that seafood we topped it off with a piece of their delectable Carrot Cake to go, rich enough it took us two days to consume it. The hospitality and service were impeccable as well.

Great restaurant. Fast and busy but good service. Stone crab claws are awesome. Sunday brunch is top Nichol.

But don't miss the crab claws - best I've ever tasted! They have been a restaurant open here in Dallas for many years. Logivity proves how good it really is.

Was one of a party of 11 for a business dinner. Great variety of appetizers, main menu selection (steak, chicken, fish and crab claws) and sides. The dessert plate was fabulous - best cheesecake I’ve had at a restaurant.

Sea bass is my typical go-to fish if available. I have eaten it all over the world and Truluck's preparation was fantastic! Great service and ambiance.

one of the best meals i’ve had in a long time!!! worth every penny! service was excellent as well. i ordered the stuffed lobster and omg it was above and beyond delicious.

I've always liked Trulucks so happy to see this. Its not as good as Montlake Cut, but its very solid. The Stone Crab claws are amazing. The steaks are solid, not steakhouse, but very good. The wine list is large and typically priced. The service is ALWAYS very good.

We absolutely loved Truluck’s in Dallas. Had been to Truluck’s in another city many years ago, and was not impressed...so glad we decided to give it another chance! The service and food were top-notch, and the crab cake was the best we’ve ever tasted! Would have given it 5 stars but was disappointed with the hostess desk. It was staffed with what seemed to be a few inexperienced young girls, who didn’t greet us and kept us waiting for a while before we could approach the desk. Even worse, we had tried to make a reservation on a weekday for 6:30, but the hostess insisted they only had 6pm open. Changed our plans to rush there, only to find while we were eating that the entire upstairs floor was open at 6:30. Other than that, it was a lovely experience.

The medium crab legs were a good size and tasted wonderful, as did my fish. Often when you choose fish, you get a bland alternative to the meat dishes. Not here. We each had different fish dishes and all were excellent, rather than be jealous of our red meat eating companions, we thoroughly enjoyed our choices.

I grew up on the New England shore and I really appreciate what it takes to serve such great seafood so far inland. The stone crab claws come from their own fishery on the West Coat of Florida and are the best I have ever had. Every entrée is perfectly prepared from the best quality product. It may be pricy but the value is certainly there.

TWO Birthday Celebrations! Yes! My hubby took me to dinner on my actual bday and my girlfriends followed up with a luncheon. The Florida stone crabs are at the peak. YUM! The Chilean sea bass is always stellar. The salads are fresh and plentiful as are the sides. The cocktails and wines come in a wide variety of choices. Service is always wonderful.

Didn’t have a reservation, but got a seat in the large bar area. It’s in a great area of town. They had live music, which was good. It has a great atmosphere. Food and service was good, a little pricey, but worth it for good food. Had the chef’s filet, which was so good. Would return.

Came with a group of people and loved everything. Crab fried rice was excellent. Also enjoyed the Lobster Mac & cheese. Best crab cake since the Chesapeake bay. Wonderfully cooked scallops. I highly recommend this place.

Beautiful place, nice decoration, modern and sober. Food was incredible. We went for crab and lobster and both were outstanding. Well above average. Desserts were also amazing, particularly the carrot cake. Compliant wine list. Service was also outstanding. Definitely a place I will keep on visiting. Ranks top on its league.

Made reservations at Truluck’s for an after church Mother’s Day celebration. The location was convenient as was valet parking. The menu selection was great as was the attentive staff and delicious selections. As a nice touch, they took our picture to commemorate the day. It’s a good spot for a business lunch or dinner as well.

It was my third time visiting Dallas in the past 2 years and every time I wish to treat colleagues or business partners, I go to Truluck. Once more the choice proved to be excellent! perfect crab claws, a wonderful Idaho trout breaded in an astonishingly sauce "à la diable", accompanied by a well balanced Chardonnay from Trefethen, a steal at 40$ a bottle! And a sumptuus cheescake for dessert. The waiter was most competent and attentive to details! The bill is a bit on the high side, but that's the price to pay for excellence! If the management could reduce the nosie level in the dining rooms it would be perfection.

Our group of friends LOVE any excuse to eat at Truluck’s and Florida Stone Crab Season is reason enough. We had a 5 person birthday luncheon in October as soon as the stone crabs became available AND my hubby and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with another lunch this week. The large size Florida Stone Crabs are my favorite while my hubby adores the Chilean Sea Bass. We were treated to complimentary Baked Alaskan desserts on both occasions. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Everything was great! Went there for my daughter's birthday dinner, and it did not disappoint. Order the lobster scampi with linguine, it was perfect. We also had the Alaskan King Crab dinner and it was delicious. The service was excellent, Eric Ho made our dinner/ birthday experience even better!

Everything we ate was outstanding, service fantastic. We ended up eating there 3 x over a short period while in Dallas. Will be back!

This was our first visit to Truluck's on McKinney and it was all positive. We showed up a bit early - without reservations at 11:20 and were shown to a second floor booth with super sight lines of our dining room and the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the immediate cityscape. My wife and I ordered a glass of wine from their very reasonable wine list - Pinot Grigio for $6.50 ea. The $30 Power Lunch option was too attractive to overlook. Three courses: soup or salad, Entree, and dessert. The Caesar Salad was was fresh tasting and tangy with anchovies and shaved parmesan. I ordered the Trout Amandine while my wife selected the Hot & Crunchy Trout plate. Both were served with a side: mashed potatoes for me and rice Pilaf with a Dynamite sauce. The room was elegant - white table cloth and heavy silver dining utensils. The service was attentive and efficient. We were surprised by the serving size of the main course, and took about half of it home. A great first impression. We are looking forward to the next visit.

My family and I dined here for the first time on a weekday evening. The food was outstanding and the wait staff was accommodating, attentive, but not obtrusive. Dining upstairs was a nicer atmosphere than on the bar level. All was fine until our wait staff decided it was time for us to pull up our tent stakes and go home. We were not the last couple in the upstairs dining area; there were three other tables still working on their dinners. We had coffee but no offer for refills and the cream and sweetener were removed from the table without comment and the bill presented. Not a positive parting note.

Nice resturaunt with live music. The bar was elegant with attentive wait staff and friendly to boot. The food was amazing and the deserts rich. I had the steak and it was cooked to perfection. Had a wonderful evening.

We really like Trulucks as the menu has great balance. Had some friends in and went again. Food as always was excellent. The Sonoma salad is a must have as are the has browned potatoes. The few disappointments were in my steak came out raw when asked for Med Rare, and they ran out of the special (at 6:30pm on a Sunday night). Waiter told us we took too long to order. REALLY! It was 6:30 and no advanced notice on short supply. That was disappointing, but it didn't take too much away from the food taste. They fixed the steak spot on, but my wife had to switch to the tuna and that was fairly average.

back in 1957 my sister and I went to visit aunts/uncles in Massachusetts. During that trip Uncle Ed told us that swordfish was as good as steak. And he was right. Especially a piece about 2 inches thick and grilled to perfection with a nice Bordeaux! (very nice wine list). She had the salmon Bearnaise which looked really good if you like salmon. The chopped salad had a very nice horseradish vinaigrette and the wedge salad - you could feed several people from that 1 salad.

My friends and me went to Truluck's for our prom/ gradation when we first got there live music was being played, we felt like we were welcome. The place is beautiful and we love the atmosphere that was set. The service was great and we felt like the server cared about us. I ordered the South African Lobster Tail which was great, it was expensive but was worth every bit of it. My friends got a steak and the other one got the GRILLED WESTER ROSS SALMON, with CRAB FRIED RICE and everything was amazing. We are for sure going back.

My wife and I where looking for sea food and had asked some folks while we were staying in Dallas and we where told about Truluck’s by a few different people so we made reservations and gave it a try while it’s expensive it was truly great food and fresh we had stone crab claws for appetizer and both had crab legs for our meal the crab claws where great and the bread they served was fresh and fluffy but the crab legs and dipping sauce was out standing and the service was great and prompt so I recommend trying it if you truly love fresh seafood that’s cooked perfectly thanks

When I 1st moved to Dallas, I would go to Truluck's occasionally when they were in the old smaller location. Now that they have enlarged, I am there every week I am in town. The Bar is large, open and light. The added touch of the live music is always amazing. And, you couldn't ask for a better bartender staff. Ron, and Brent always friendly, and attentive, no matter how busy they get, and I am really going to miss Brittany, but wish her well in her next adventure.

Food was great. Poor service. We had to ask for drink refills. Didn’t get the asparagus that was supposed to come with my delicious red snapper. Server would disappear for long periods of time. Unexpected for 5:00 on a Sunday. Disappointed this one time.

We are trying out many different steakhouses. We loved the shrimp cocktail, the oysters and the bread. The shrimp cocktail presentation was awesome. The waiter was very good. The only reason I didn't rate with a 5 star is because the steak was just average.

This was the last chance for these folks. First strike was when they wouldn’t allow us in the bar during the Byron Nelson when they had the store in Addison. Second strike was when they messed up my reservations at the Southlake store Last night was a train wreck. 7:45 reservations and the bar had last call at 8 PM. Service was awful, I had to go down stairs and get us a drink because our waiter wouldn’t even make eye contact with us. The food was good but everything else ruin it. When I’m dropping $200 on two sides and one entree I expect a little more

This was my first time to Truluck’s and it met all expectations. The food was very good and presented professionally. Service was what is to be expected at a fine dining restaurant. Prices are a little high, but it was a great experience and made a lasting impression on our customers.

Excellent service & menu — well recommended — would definitely do again — reservations suggested — GREAT MEAL

We wanted to try out a nice seafood restaurant and Trulucks was suggested. Four of us shared the Seafood Celebration for an appetizer and it was more than enough for four people. It was delicious. For the main course I had the 2 lb Alaskan King Crab Cluster which was more than enough food for me and 2 of the men that were in our group. It was delicious. I would definitely recommend Trulucks if you are in Dallas.

You can never go wrong dining at Truluck's. I had originally made an anniversary reservation at The French Room, where my wife and I had dinner the night we got engaged, but after reading a number of reviews I decided to cancel and make a reservation at Truluck's. We've never had anything but a stellar experience there, and Saturday was no exception. We arrived on time and were seated promptly. We ordered a nice bottle of unoaked Chardonnay, which was very good and very well priced. We split the Tuna Tartare Platter for our appetizer. It was plenty of food to split and was fresh and delicious. For dinner we shared the pan seared scallops, served with parmesan mashed potatoes, and the miso glazed seabass, served with crab fried rice and a spicy cucumber slaw. Both entrees were cooked perfectly, were presented beautifully, and tasted great. We also ordered a side of creamed spinach, which was rich but went well with our entrees. For dessert the restaurant comped us a baked Alaska for our anniversary. Service was impeccable, as it always is. We think Truluck's is a top 5 restaurant in a city with a lot of great restaurants!

We actually visited this restaurant based on reviews from here and let me just say it was above and beyond what we expected!! Every single thing was delicious! We will for sure be back!!

I was probably hoping for something a little more memorable, based on the reviews I had read. Not a lot of passion and caring in the service, and the food is pretty average.

Hubby surprised me with dinner here for our anniversary. Went on a Monday night and it was hopping - but not overly crowded. Had a drink in the bar - live music. Dinner was upstairs and what a view. I had Redfish Ponchitrain and it was out of this world. Hubby had Crunch Trout and he liked it, but admitted mine was way better. One point against them - the only restroom is downstairs - go before you head upstairs. Otherwise, loved it all - especially the view!! Oh and service, spectacular!

My wife and I went to dinner at Truluck’s tonight with another couple. It was our friend’s yearly 25th birthday😏😂. Priscilla and Cresencio served us and did great! We never had to wait on a refill, Priscilla and Cresencio were always there. I’m a plain guy so I’ll report the rolls, meatballs, wedge salad, and New York Strip were phenomenal. This place has a GREAT view of the city and is in walking distance of other restaurants and bars. A+ rating here!

We didn't make reservations but we were able to find a table at the bar area. The atmosphere is very nice. There was a woman that was singing and a male playing the piano. Her voice was amazing. Service was great the food was so good. Drinks were good and strong. On the way out with my food the server dropped my entire plate on the floor which delayed our food coming out. But the manager on duty that night was kind enough to adjust the bill for us do to the mishap. I would suggest making reservations before you go. We got there around 10pm and were lucky enough to find a table as a couple was getting up.

The hot appetizer Calamari is the best I have every had. It had such a unique flavor of with a touch of heat from Asia. The two side sauces were very good. Our waiter was very attentive and offered suggestions and accommodated our requests. The red fish Ponchatrain was like New Orleans. Lots of great creole flavor and the crawfish, shrimp and crab was a great compliment. The salmon was also very fresh and nicely prepared. A great place for a special occasion. A nice wine list with many options.

This is a terrific seafood restaurant in the heart of downtown. The food is first rate, the setting is nice, and service is quite good. I had the miso glazed sea bass, which was superb. The stone crab appetizer was an unexpected pleasure.

Just went here for the first time to celebrate my birthday. It was AMAZING from the beginning. I love their attention to detail and having to dress the part for an exceptional evening. Bethany called to confirm reservations and was a rock star from that point on. She gave us the BEST table with a breathtaking view. We even had great live music piped in from the bar. Go on a Monday because that’s when this particular entertainer is there. Our food was great from bottle of German white wine, house rolls, crab cakes, lobster bisque, king crab legs, fish, veggies and over the top complimentary baked Alaska for dessert…..followed by nice glass of ice wine. The greatness continued as Maggie called the next day to follow up on how things were for our night out. If you haven’t already, be good to yourself and enjoy a meal there. Can’t wait to return!

Wonderful dining experience with friends / business associates. Everything was perfect: atmosphere, service, food and drinks. Our waiter was outstanding, and everything ordered was perfectly delicious! Will definitely be back again.

Great seafood, wonderful atmosphere! We celebrated two birthdays here and received two complementary Baked Alaska desserts. The presentation was wonderful, pouring the flaming sauce over the dessert! We enjoyed scallops, spicy fish, etc. the portions were so large we split two dishes and had plenty for four. We really enjoyed the lobster mashed potatoes! The service was excellent!

I really wanna love this restaurant. The staff was very professional. The food just was not great. The ribeye had no flavor. The crab fried rice was not that tasty. It was kind of bizarre with very large vegetables in it. Honestly, the best part was the fresh bread at the beginning, but that’s where it ended. Dessert (chocolate cake) was mediocre. Just too expensive $800 for 4 peoples dinner and only one desert shared among us.

My first time at the establishment. I had a great glass of wine and a wonderful surf and turf salad. The service was very good. The atmosphere was outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant!

From the valet parking, to the swanky, sophisticated bar, to the fine dining, Truluck's is not to be missed. The wine list is extensive and there are always new and impressive cocktails on the menu. Steaks and seafood are awesome and the Baked Alaska is to die for.

Family member's Bday dinner had us going to this fabulous locale. What a wonderful atmosphere. Staff is Attentive & Courteous. The menu is plentiful but the Steaks are their Strong Points! A definite place to visit! GetSome!!

The food was excellent and the service good, with a couple of exceptions. We ordered salad with no tomatoes. We got tomatoes. We each ordered soup. He brought one to share. And every server kicked my chair when they walked by.

This is one of the better restaurants I have been to. From the moment we arrived we were treated like a special guest. I cannot write this review well enough to express how unbelievable this restaurant is. The staff really embrace customer service. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Our waiter was very well informed about the menu and made some great suggestions.

We were in town for a retirement party and stayed at the Hilton next door. How fortuitous! We went for a pre-party cocktail (which had a very generous happy hour policy), then after the party to get some "real food". We arrived 5 minutes before the kitchen closed, but the staff could not have been more accommodating to our party of 5. We had a wide variety of appetizers - oysters, stone crab, meatballs and spinach. All were simply divine and so delicious. As we were staying in the area, we also dined at a few other places that were mediocre at best. This was a great, great find. We would definitely go back.

Wow! Food was great! We were a party of four and we all ordered something different and loved it. From de sirloin to the fish, everything was great! I highly recommend it. A little pricey for a regular Joe like me but worth it. 😊

We love Trulucks! We dined again on March 8, 2025 and once again it was an exceptional experience. It was made better by the fantastic service of our waitress, Paloma. We started with the amazing calamari and then ordered the Petit Lobster Tails and Black and White Pasta. My husband had the shrimp and scallops; dinner was completed with Baked Alaska. Everything was excellent!

I surprised my mom to dinner at Truluck's Uptown Dallas for her 52nd birthday. I made reservations and informed them of her birthday. They had decorated a table in a private seating area. The servers were very attentive and they even surprised her with a chocolate and coffee ice cream mousse cake.

Went to the Haskins theatre then down to Trulocks for dinner. We like to sit at the bar for discounted appetizers and drink specials. Service is quick there. Dinner was sinsational all fresh seafood cooked to perfection. Piano bar makes nice back ground music. It’s a must to go there
Fresh and convenient
Excellent lunch place for those seeking quality seafood in a beautiful location with great views of Uptown.
