Great!

By Mary S |

Angela our waitress was very helpful as we had not been here before. She also kept our water glasses filled and requests taken care of promptly with a smile. The place wasn't busy which concerned us for a Saturday early evening. Well let me tell you.... the food and service was EXCELLENT. We'll be back. Great Mediterranean food and relaxing dinning environment. We had Beef Kebab, Chicken Kebab, Turkish rice, Cilantro Fries, Baklava, Kunefe (mozz cheese, crispy goodness and sweetened with honey) ice cream on top. We felt our meals were reasonable priced and delicious!

My absolute favorite restaurant in Atlanta.

This is a local eatery where are the chefs are actually Turkish and the food is simply outstanding. The service is fantastic the bartenders are friendly and they have several homemade cocktails that are delicious! This is by far the best Mediterranean restaurant I’ve been to in Atlanta.

A pleasant ethnic surprise in Virginai - Highland!

If you're looking for a great spot for lunch or even a nice dinner in Atlanta the search can be challenging to say the least. With so many choices it's a daunting task at best. Well... If you live inside the perimeter or even if you don't, you must check out Truva in VA-Highlands! The ambience is nice, the service friendly and efficient and the food is FANTASTIC! I've been to Truva a few times for lunch and enjoyed their tasty, diverse and healthy selections but the real joy came when I joined a dear friend for dinner. I won't bore you with all we enjoyed but the beef short rib with roasted vegetables was culinary perfection! Although billed as a Turkish kitchen, I view it more as well executed Middle Eastern fare that possess broad appeal whether you seek ethnic or non ethnic cuisine. Along with very tasty lamb, beef and chicken, the menu also has a number of vegetarian dishes. Great food without equally good service and can fall flat but that's not the case with Truva. The service is friendly, efficient and well completes the experience. Truva is not a "fancy" place but the food, service and ambience work well in concert for a memorable dining experience.

Unique and delicious

We enjoyed lunch here on a Saturday. There were also brunch options available. The restaurant has a lovely outside area, both covered and uncovered. It was too hot for us to sit there during our visit but we look forward to going back when it's cooler. Service was amazing! We started with the complimentary bread and sun-dried oil dipping sauce. We then ordered a selection of spreads and mezzos to share. Everything was delicious! Our entire party was vegetarian and there were more than enough options from which to choose. The portions are generous. Some members of our group also ordered entrees and most of their food needed to be taken home to be eaten later. The decor is lovely.

Best Turkish Food in Atlanta

By mzdpendent |

This is by far the most authentic Turkish food in the city. They changed the menu over the years but when I visit Atlanta I have to stop and eat here. The atmosphere is relaxing and the staff are welcoming. The food is on the pricey side but you will want to eat all of it. I was disappointed with the baklava when I took it to go and there was a piece of hair in it.

Would not recommend

Today we visited this restaurant for the first time and I don't think we want to visit it again or recommend it. At the time of our arrival, the restaurant was not busy and our waitress took more than ten minutes to come to us and offer us drinks . We ordered the lychee Martini and one apple margarita and both drinks were nasty ! We tried tabbouleh and it was very bad, tasteless. I think that in general the portions of this restaurant are too small for the price they charge for them. We ordered some specialties and exactly the same! All food tasteless! In addition, our food took more than 40 minutes to arrive at our table, the food was cold and the only thing we wanted was to finish and leave. There is no customer service in this place and the servers make you feel like they are doing you a favor by serving you. Personally, this time we do not recommend this place despite the fact that the building looks nice and makes you think that it is an excellent place.

Really enjoyed! Great new find in the Highlands.

We really enjoyed Truva. Great Turkish flavors. Juliette was awesome service too. Enjoyed the sampler of "Turkish Tapas" spreads, breads, and more. Grilled octopus was perfect...looking forward to going back and trying more on the menu too. Brunch menu looked good.

Great spot in downtown

I had saved this place on our trip due to all the recommendations and then my friend who lives in Atlanta recommended we go there. It was fantastic! Great food at atmosphere. The service started out great but our waiter got in the weeds and it waned. My husband got the mixed grill plate for two and it was delicious. They also have an extensive wine list and fun cocktails. We did bring our 12 and 8 year old with us but they were the only kids there. They have two options for kids but not a formal kids menu. I’d say bring them if they can handle a swanky adult vibe.

A must every time we visit Atlanta

My wife and I find ourselves in Atlanta at some point every time we travel out of Tallahassee. We always make time to have a meal at Truvas. It is always a great time! You can’t go wrong. They have a lovely vibe with a great bar. You gotta do it!!!

Fantastic food!

Absolutely spectacular food - so flavorful! The service was great too. Free parking at lunch. The mezze with the three dips was a great start with fantastic warm pita. Loved the liver (spiced, fried, fresh onions), zucchini pancakes (crispy on outside and creamy inside), adana (lamb skewers with rice and salad), and vegetable moussaka. The mousakka was divine - one of the best ever!! The lamb was soooo juicy and tasty. Highly recommend!!! Everything was delicious!! We will be back!

Perfect Spot!

I’ve been here three times, twice for dinner and today for Sunday brunch. All three times, I was overwhelmed by the quality of the food and the service. Upscale but comfortable. I expected the perfect hummus but today was more surprised by a perfect waffle. Also great wine specials. This is such a great addition to our neighborhood.

Mediterranean Deliciousness

By rfreeman2015 |

This was my first time at Truva Turkish Kitchen, and I was quite impressed with the high caliber of the food. It was among the best Mediterranean cuisine I have experienced. I started with the Truva salad, so fresh and topped with the restaurant’s signature Pomegranate Vinaigrette dressing. My main course, the Lamb Stew, was full of flavor and delicious. What Truva lacks in atmosphere, it more than makes up for in great food and stellar service.

Very Good Breakfast, But Service was Terrible

By Illinois_John |

Went here for their weekend brunch service. The four of us were immediately seated upon entering the restaurant. Then it took a while for someone to show up to take our drink orders. After we got our drink orders it once again was a while before the server returned to take our food orders. Then we needed to flag down someone else to get coffee refills. Our server was just hard to track down even though they were not very busy. Three of us got the breakfast sandwich and one got the scrambled eggs. Sides of grits, cheese grits, and grilled asparagus were ordered. All of the orders came to the table as ordered. The food was very good and I appreciated the fact that you could get asparagus with breakfast. The prices are high for breakfast and if the service was as good as the food, then I would say that things overall were very good. But, the poor service did not match the atmosphere I am sure they are trying to portray with their prices. Nobody in our group will be returning.

Business dinner

Very nice environment, not loud when it came to discussing strategies over dinner for work. The food was delicious and made to order. Dessert was amazing, can't remember the name but it was sweet coconut and cheese and it was amazing.

Great food and drinks, friendly service, good for gluten-free

By Jean H |

We have eaten here several times since moving to Atlanta in the fall. Nice covered patio so good for COVID times. Delicious cocktails, excellent food (big portions) and easy to do gluten-free for celiacs in the family. Very friendly and competent service. A favorite.

Expected more flavor

By Marti B |

We had the appetizers and then the mixed grill. The appetizers were the highlight of the meal--the bread and its accompanying red sauce are great! The hummus and lamb lahmacun were delicious, but the mixed grill was so-so, with most of the meats pretty dry and tasteless. Skip that.

Comfortable spot tasty food

Very enjoyable. Nice redo of the previous space. Reminded us of a typical Turkish restaurant in Turkey. Great flavors. Bread is fantastic. Pleasant staff. Terrific addition to the neighborhood.

Great flavor

By Wendy L |

We had lunch but were also in Time Saturday to peruse the brunch menu. All the dishes we had were flavorful and very well prepared and plated. The lamb was perfection, juicy and just the right blend of spices. Babaganush and hummus were served with homemade bread and sliced veggies. The eggplant was smoked which gave it a great deep flavor.

Great food and excellent service

Ate here with a group of 8 friends. The combination platter was really tasty and very filling. The lamb chops were amazing. All the sides were really good. The bar area is great too. Looking forward to having to eating here again. They have breakfast and even kept some of the Roadhouse (previous restaurant) menu items. The owner chatted with us for a while and we got to try Turkish Raki. Good thing we weren't driving.

Do not order with delivery. Ever.

By Carlo G |

Do not order with delivery. They cancel their orders with no notice after 40+ you are waiting for the food. They blame courier and suggest to use a different carier... and re-do from scratch the order ending up again in the cue. Willingness solve the problem zero, to help zero, courtesy zero, the manager ever more bad mannered told me clearly it was not their problem but now mine on top of that. They frequently out of items. Very disappointing experience.

A Neighborhood Gem

By Judgefoodie |

My husband and I and a friend walked to dinner the other night and had a delicious meal here. This was our second visit the first being in January when the place had just opened and was packed. Food that night was delicious but service was a bit iffy. So we went back and are so glad we did. Had a great waiter—attentive but not intrusive. The beets and burrata was good but the lamachun was outstanding. Spicy and just right. We then shared some lamb and chicken kabobs—superb. Both were cooked perfectly. Half price wine was a nice surprise. Great meal at a reasonable price. Hope the neighborhood supports this delightful restaurant.

Incredible dinner

By DJS8874 |

I met a friend here recently for dinner. He’s been several times but it was my first and when I arrived he was waiting so I immediately went to the table where he was seated chatting to the server. The server shook my hand, introduced himself, welcomed me and thanked me for visiting them. What other restaurant can you honestly say offered such a greeting? After some small talk he took our drink order and then offered a variation of an appetizer that wasn’t even on the menu yet but will be on the new one soon to be introduced! (It was incredible btw, I ate a bit too much of it🤷🏻‍♂️) I had stuffed cabbage for my main, again, delicious! There’s a great selection of unpretentious Turkish delights....it’s quite like Mediterranean, if you’ve never had Turkish. The entire night several staff members came by to see how I liked everything and shared some jokes and laughs with us at the table. It was so comfortable and not forced, like family. Truly one of the easiest, least stressful and tasty dinners we’ve had (we meet and try a new place weekly so there’s been a lot!). I won’t hesitate to return or recommend to everyone I know.

Excellent variety. Best mussels

Excellent variety. Best mussels ever. The Truva dumplings were delightful as well. Great ambiance and service.
