We went here cause we had exhausted all other food ethnicities throughout our stay. Per trip advisor the ratings were great. We did not have reservations and we're seated immediately. Friendly wait staff arrived with water and mention their specials and made drink recommendations. We asked our waitress her recommendations and we ordered everything she mentioned from the coleslaw with pepitas to avocado toast everything was delicious. I had a curry Bowl and others in my group had a spicy chicken dish and shrimp tacos. Everything was great - so yummy and great portions. We had the passion fruit cheesecake - it was amazing - we ate every bite. I would definitely go back again as their menu had so many items I must try!!! Great service and decent prices. Clean restrooms.

We were looking for a place to eat after a long day and didn't want to read a ton of reviews but this one caught our eye. Its a short distance from our hotel by LAX yet parking was actually surprisingly easy. It was a nice modern looking restaurant with enough people on a Wed night not to scare us away. The menu was great, actually there were so many things that sounded good it was hard to choice which 2 entrees we were going to get. Rex our server recommended the Onion Jam Grilled Cheese as one. WOW, it was amazing, the combination of flavors made this one of my favorite meals in a long time. I mean so good we will come back during our short stay here. The other was the Sriracha Grilled Chicken Bowl, it was a great spicy bowl, plenty of food and just the right amount of heat, we like spicy food though. Rex was a great server, good recommendations and took the time to speak about different dishes on the menu. We will be back in the next day or so, we will definitely get the grill cheese again but we will go this another amazing sounding dish for our other entree.

Went here for the first time, didn't know what to expect. Wife had an Asian Salad, I had the candied jalapeno chicken plate. Broccolini was the seasonal vegetable of the day, it was the best I'd ever had. Our water and ice tea was never dry, the food was generous and delicious, and Ashley was knowledgable, personable, and a real delight even though she's never seen us before. Highly recommend, we'll go back for sure. Just a few blocks from LAX if you're trying to eat near the airport. The menu is vegetarian friendly and quite different from what you normally see (in a good way)

I was introduced to Truxton’s by a few colleagues, and I could not be happier for the introduction. In the last two months, I have been five times - lunch - and the food is consistently delicious! My favorite food has been the monkey bread, hamburgers, and grilled chicken baguette. You cannot go wrong with any food option. The service has also been top notch every time I have enjoyed a meal. If you have not been, you are in for a treat!

We stayed at the Four Points Sheraton, just 10 mins away. The key is that there is ample parking, which is key for restaurants near the airport if you're driving! Stopped by on a weeknight. I had the ribs, my wife had the fish and chips. The ribs were definitely fall-off-the-bone tender, although the sauce was pretty standard. I ate 'em all, though! The cole slaw was not too sweet, which is the way I like it. They do have a wide variety of foods, so next time I'll try something more exotic. My wife's fish and chips were pretty good, she reports. She also had a cocktail, but I'm afraid I can't remember what it was - some kind of margarita, as I recall. She drank that right down, so it was pretty good, too. The service was outstanding. We had a server named Kareem, and he was very attentive, friendly, and kept checking in with us to make sure it was good. I hope you get service like that - he helped a neighboring table whose kids spilled water, and he took care of that with good cheer, and still made sure we were taken care of. We had a dessert, but only because a service manager asked us if we wanted one as they made an extra one - score! It was a cookie with chocolate sauce and ice cream, and it was delicious. We couldn't finish it because it was so rich, but we loved it. We would definitely stop in again if we have to drop off, pick up, or fly out of LAX.

It's a very nice restaurant, with an excellent ambiance. We went there for lunch and my friend has the Fish & Chips and I had the Tuna Ahi and both were excellent. Great for business meetings.

We have made LAX our last night of our vacation for many years. The hotel staff when asked where to eat recommended Truxton's. We wish we had known about this place years ago. The service was excellent. The bartender made one of the best martinis I have ever had. We wanted a couple to go! Our dinners were generous in portion. I had the Ahi tuna burger and my husband had the Portland burger. Both were delicious. It is a couple of miles from LAX but free parking is provided along side. We have now a new place to eat!

First time to this establishment located about one mile from LAX in the middle of a large shopping center/complex off of Sepulveda Blvd. Dining is inside or outside on the adjacent sidewalk. Standard American dishes with an extensive menu. Fantastic service. Interesting--I had a Arnold Palmer drink which is always standard at resturants BUT the bartender added a squeeze of orange which gave it a unique and delightful flavor. I had the seafood pasta--Great taste and plentiful. My wife had a turkey club sandwich that was HUGE and tasteful. Parking is adjacent to the building, easy, and free. The booths inside are comfortable. They also have drive-up service for take-out--very efficient. Definitely will be going back. For dessert we had the pecan pie--very rich and tasty.

This place was packed and it took us awhile to find a parking spot. We had a 30 minute wait to be seated at a table. Staff was friendly. Our server Rob took are drink and food orders right away, and said he would put in right away so we can get to airport in plenty of time. So we appreciated that. Looking at other customers food coming out everything looked really good. They have daily specials. My husband ordered the Fish Tacos and I ordered the Rotisserie Chicken.

Truxton's is close to my neighborhood and I've been there several times for lunch and dinner - or just for a drink with friends. They have a great cocktail menu with many specialty drinks. I recommend the Hibiscus Margarita or the Copper Mule. Their burgers are fantastic - And when you ask for a medium rare burger .... you GET a medium rare burger. They also have several lower calorie burgers that are served on a bed of lettuce instead of a bun. One of these which I like is the El Paso Plate. There's free parking in adjacent lots which fill up fast. The place is almost always busy - and is generally rather noisy. The service is consistently good - and friendly.

Nice location for near LAX meetings Standard menu with some variations as the Indian Curry which is excellent RESTAURANT: A- Food A Value A Ambiance A+ Location A People A Staff B Scene CLEAN OR DIRTY: A Utensils A Table A Glassware B Bathrooms

yes, indeed, one has to put name on the wait list & hang in the entrance area to get a table anytime during main meal times. This place does not take reservations. The service is dynamite & the food is quite good. The craft beer selection on tap is impressive. I highly recommend this place...and be patient if you have to wait, you'll be rewarded. Oh, you can have a drink at the bar while you wait.

We fly to Los Angeles a lot, and often land hungry. Truxton’s is a great place to have a meal before swimming into the traffic. Everyone is pleasant and the food is good. There are vegetarian options and interesting daily specials. Many options have healthy ingredients and preparation. My husband gives a shout out to the half chicken.

Opened with much fanfare for this restaurant starved community. Unfortunately, it replaced a beloved Restaurant Christine and this combined with a "chain feel" did not bode well for our experience. That said, my wife liked her Bankok Chopped salad and my fish tacos were adequate. They ran out of cabbage for the tacos and threw in a free dessert. The staff were friendly and attentive. Aesthetically, the inside portion of the restaurant looked like a Coco's. The outer area has lots of windows and the sun was setting. Very nice. My wife made an astute comparison when comparing it to a slightly upgraded California Pizza Kitchen. We were expecting a more specialized dining experience. It was average.

If you're looking for a place to eat that's not an airport hotel restaurant, this is it! What a creative menu with unique and varied drinks and entrees! I had a middle eastern dish with farro and my daughter had the yellow curry chicken dish. We were very happy with our choices. The drinks we had were delicious as was the chocolate chip cookie dessert! Only a few minutes from the airport hotels.

Our family has enjoyed several meals here over the years, but we have noticed an increase in prices that sometimes dissuades us from returning. Meals and desserts are often delicious... service is efficient and friendly... but noise levels are generally quite high, perhaps because of the presence of at least one television in a casual bar-area off to one side. Would really appreciate some menu options that are not so expensive, and a quieter atmosphere, to the extent this might be possible. Thanks.

From the great reviews I read on TA, we visited this restaurant to make time on our long layover in LA, it is super close to the airport, Food was OK but I have to say I was expecting more. That's why I give 3 stars instead of 4. While it was good it was not that great. If you are in the area or have time to spare at the Airport ok but its not worth the visit if your staying elsewhere.

This is my Mom's favorite place to eat so it was no surprise that she wanted to go here for her recent Birthday. They have to have tables out in the shopping complex on the sidewalk because the restaurant is closed due to Covid. We were extremely impressed with their efforts during this challenging time. As usual, the food was fabulous and the drinks were delicious but the service was EXCEPTIONAL! Jess was our server and she had to work so hard (tables are much further from the kitchen and bar) but she did a great job! Not only is she extremely hard working but she is so personable, helpful and sweet. Thanks Jess! I think the person who helped her was named Maggie and she was great too!

We went to dinner here. It was one of the restaurants recommended by our hotel's staff. I think it might be the most reasonably priced place we went. I had a hamburger and it tasted chargrilled. It was a really good burger. My husband had a dinner salad and it was huge. There was confusion over who would be our server but once decided, the service was good. Parking was convenient. In LA a parking lot beside the restaurant is a beautiful thing.

I've eaten here before - and reviewed it - but this meal was my favorite. A few friends and I were hungry and each of us found something wonderful on their menu. I had small tacos with generous helpings of salad (coleslaw?) and chicken on top - plus a tiny little frying pan that contained brown rice and black beans. I added these to my tacos and was able to make 4 little ones with the tortillas provided. Absolutely delicious. The service was top quality too - she kept an eye on us and refilled our waters frequently. I also appreciated having the option of 6 or 9 oz in my wine pour - a nice touch.

A bit of a wait on a Friday night but the food was worth the wait. Great fish tacos with a bit of a twist. My husband had the Wild Mushroom Linguine. Generous portions.

We accidentally stumbled across Truxtons on our first night in LA and were very happy that we did! Choice on the menu was really varied, we had starters and mains, couldn't finish it all despite our best efforts! The monkey bread was very moreish and we were also given a complimentary dish of cauliflower mac n cheese which was delicious. If we are in LA again anytime we will definitely be visiting again!

Found this little gem in downtown LA. Had to wait a bit (it was Saturday night after all) but it was worth the wait. Started with the Ahi Tuna appetizer. Wonderful! Wife had Aunt Betty's BBQ Chicken Salad and I had the Kicked Up Mac & Cheese. That mac & cheese.....the only thing wrong is I didn't order 2 of it. Absolutely delicious!!!! Waitstaff was on point for being so busy and the manager topped by and chatted with us for a few minutes. If we're ever down in LA again, we're stopping here for sure!

We have tried them all and now we just go to truxtons. Given the competition there is usually a line which is a pain - but the wait is worth it.

Love this place and will definitely be back when I'm in Los Angeles. We needed a place to get a quick bite before a concert at the Forum. Hostess service was AWESOME! She kept us informed and worked on getting us a seat at the bar so we would have ample time to eat before the show. Food was excellent. Has the Candied Jalapeno Chicken Burger Plate off the Healthy Choices. Ordered a side of steamed broccoli! Super yummy burger and health (left the cheese off :)). My friend had the Chinese Chicken Salad which she said was fabulous! Check this place out!!

It was a 30 minute wait, which didn't feel long as they had a farmers market we walked to and had time to come back once they texted. The food was good, disappointing tres leches French toast, I expected more moisture. They were dry, but still good taste wise. We were too hungry I didn't take a before pick of the food, I did have the potato casserole which was delicious. Cheesescake is not to be shared lol! It was delicious! I would also recommend that management take any coaching to the back, it was very unprofessional to call out the waiter on the floor.

First time was a charm. This great neighborhood restaurant had everything we needed before flying out of LAX for a three-week trip. Great location near the airport. Friendly service. Great food. Easy parking. Wonderful atmosphere.

Truxtons is a hidden gem close to KLAX airport. A short ride from the airport the restaurant is located in a great location. Great atmosphere, friendly, attentive staff. The food is always delicious and served fresh

Excellent food, excellent service. Server (Curtis) upfront with selection advice and always with a smile.

We stopped here after hiking and found loads of great menu choices. Our kids brought us here on a return visit for them, and I can see why. We settled on Avocado Toast, Mariana Sandwich, and Ode to Elvis peanut butter and banana waffle. They also have good service: friendly and prompt.

Good option near LAX that seems to attract a local crowd as well as visitors from nearby hotels. Extensive American menu. At our table, the Gilly burger looked great but the burger itself lacked taste(condiments made up for it), the rotisserie chicken needed more seasoning. The Marrakech Pasta and Daily special Tuna were excellent for flavor and balance. Good service through out, although food arrived at 3 different times.

Off a side street it sits alone... the food is pretty good pub grub... and has a full liquor license.. .parking is available.. and coming or going to LAX it is perfect to stop for a drink and bite...

Didn't expect much of a place in that particular location but the food was surprisingly good - perhaps not for its regular habitues (place was full at lunch). Service was friendly and quick with good meal presentation and flavor. The wine list was extensive and the appetizers were a diverse mix (try the Monkey Bread). Parking was not a problem but expect to park farther away during lunch.

I tend to have long layovers on my international flights through LAX. I have used this time to get together for a meal with friends in the LA basin. But restaurants close to LAX have generally been abysmal. Discovering Truxton's has been a god-send. My wife has dined here on business trips and recommended it highly. She really enjoys their pastas. I opted for their shrimp tacos. They were excellent with good quality corn tortillas, very crunchy slaw and large plump shrimp with a perfect drizzle of a tangy and slightly sweet dressing. Service was congenial, if a little bit on the slow side. I did not have a plane to catch this visit, but it would make me think twice if I did have a tight flight connection to make.

Truxton's is my go to place for good food near me. Been going there since they opened for family meals, business lunches, cocktails with a girlfriend, etc. Had a wonderful Christmas party for business associates in the private dining room a while back. I think I will have to do that again!

Down in LA for a wedding and the wedding couple has Truxtons as one of their favorite restaurants. The restaurant has a room for events and the staff was very helpful. We a a smattering of different foods which were all eaten in a very short period. So good food, good drinks led to a good night.

Truxton.s has a nice selection of what we considered to be California style food. Avocado toast was tasty and came with a large side of fruit. Beach benedict was a local; take on the traditional dish. Service was good.

On our way to LAX we decided to stop for lunch before getting to the airport. Google maps said it was close and rated well, and we were not disappointed. I had the fish and chips with the garlic fries and loved it. Service was great!

Love this restaurant- super friendly staff and tasty food at a reasonable price. Tried the chicken soup (awesome) and chicken baguette sandwich. My friend has the fish taco and chicken soup. Had a difficult time trying to choose from the menu!

Stop to having lunch We order Sandwich was very taste My partner have Gills Burger very very good .we will stop by again

My coworkers and I decided to go to Truxton’s for dinner while in Los Angeles. Upon arrival, we were quickly seated. The waitstaff were attentive and friendly. I ordered the American Sliders, which came with two beef sliders with lettuce, onion, and tomato. It also comes with fries. The food was good, but not overly filling. The food, service, and atmosphere are all good. I recommend giving them a try. Enjoy!

Near the airport so it fit the need of a restaurant that we could eat at that was good food and good beer and NOT @ airport prices. We weren't the only ones that figured this out lots of suitcase carrying patrons. Good selection if food and beer nice atmosphere and sufficient bar stools to eat if you are by yourself.

I was in LA for business and after our presentation, my team wanted a good lunch. We had a variety of tastes, so wanted to pick something that everyone would like. There's a variety of choices of menu items from flatbread pizzas to handhelds to entrees. Nice, relaxed atmosphere and good service. Good choice of beer as well with seasonal and rotating draft selections.

We walked here from the Holiday Inn Express on Airport Blvd @ Manchester, about a 15" stroll. Was very pleasantly surprised by this pub/restaurant. Was expecting a dive bar but it's NOT. Very nice patrons, wide variety on menu for food & drink. I think what keeps the "riff raff" out are the prices: $11/cocktail, $16 for burger & fries. Some creative cocktails on offer and the food is generally "American fare"-check out their online menu. The place was extremely busy when we stopped by on a Saturday 6PM (wait list of 30") but were able to get seats at the bar. Service was good considering the bartender was worked off his feet (hey, hire another bartender during busy times to give this guy a break!). He gave us samples of a liquor I wasn't familiar with to help me decide which cocktail to select. We would definitely return if we're in the area.

Excellent! They make their own veggie burger here that is so good. Recommend this to everyone. You have to try it. Fries and salads and drinks are great too.

Awesome local spot near LAX. Very close to Avis lot and perfect meal pre-flight. Locals spot, friendly vibe. Great service. Excellent menu and great food. Better quality and price than the airport options. Wings, sliders and salad really good.

They have one of the best Fish N Chips entrees in Los Angeles in my opinion. Their Ahi Tuna burger is also awesome. Sine I only eat seafood and these options were available I was NOT disappointed at all. You have to go to the Los Angeles facility as I hear it is better than the Santa Monica facility.

We went while at conference in LA. Everything people ordered was great, my burrito 🌯 was huge!! Great appetizers and service was good. Memo was a great waiter!!

Just what we needed. Friendly casual atmosphere, good variety of food, something for everyone. Good service.

Easily accommodated a large group at night. Great American contemporary food. Waiter had an iPad that made customization and service very efficient. Close to the airport!

I had earned a lunch with my boss & was given the choice of deciding where to go .. I was looking for a nice sit down restaurant with a good variety of options on their menu & Truxton's was the right choice .. well recommended for any ocassion

They apparently just started serving breakfast a few months ago and we are very glad. Everything we had was fabulous, from the big skillet pancake with walnuts and "Bourbon Syrup" to a breakfast flatbread. And super, friendly service.

I had friends coming in to LA for an overnight layover and needed to find a restaurant near LAX. After checking out six restaurants I decided on Truxtons American Bistro and am I glad I did. Walking in the receptionist was warm friendly and took my humor. The server was also very friendly and again took my humor. The food was perfect. I had Pork Bami Mi (Sliced Vietnamese style pork, pickled daikon and carrots, cucumbers, red onions, fresh jalapenos, cilantro & mint with mayo and hoisin sauce on ciabatta bread) and coleslaw. This might not have been a Vietnamese restaurant but the right flavors were there in that sandwich. The coleslaw was not made with mayo and was very refreshing. My two friends each had the halibut perfectly cooked with what they said was the best, creamiest mashed potatoes they have ever had and asparagus. This is not a highbrow upscale restaurant but it deserves five bubbles for friendliness, attentiveness, ambiance and above all the quality and flavor of the food.

My wife and I had dinner here ahead of an event at a nearby bookshop. We'd been to the now-closed location in Santa Monica and remember being pleasantly surprised by the extensive menu and vegetarian-friendly options there, plus cocktails, so we confidently chose this Westchester location to eat as it was near to where we needed to be. The overall experience was good, albeit not quite as great as the 5 stars I gave to the other location. The menu is huge, and they highlight what's vegetarian, so it's easy to go in with that diet and feel like a first-class citizen. I opted for the plant-based Veggie "Steak" Tacos. Kudos to Truxton's for offering serious vegetarian options like this. It tasted really great though the 2 tacos were so over-stuffed with content that they were impossible to eat like a taco and fell apart as soon as I tried to pick one up. On one hand, I appreciate the generous portion size...on the other, the same amount of food in these 2 tacos would have been better served and more manageable to eat if they had added a third tortilla and made it three tacos. There are a lot of other vegetarian options to choose from in every menu category, so you definitely won't go hungry here, and if you're a repeat customer, you can potentially have a different dining experience every time you're there. The atmosphere is upscale for an American restaurant and the drinks look great. We would try it again if we were in Westchester.

Stopped in for a quick bite on the way to LAX. I think we will be doing that again in subsequent trips to LA! I had jalapeño chicken burger and my colleague had the Mexican pork platter. Wow both were delicious. Basil lemonade was not as infused with basil as expected but was still refreshing and good.

This is one of the best casual dining restaurants with lots of menu choices. The service is great and the quality of the food is always fresh!

I try to stop at Truxton’s whenever I’ve got a long flight out of LAX. 5-10 minutes from the airport but feels like a neighborhood, upscale bistro. Service is always spot on as is the food. Great bar.

The portion size is good. The menu was kinds pricey. Everyone's order was correct. We tried popular burger and monkey bread. The atmosphere is great. The customer service could be better. Our waitress was hit and miss in supporting her table. We will return and try something different on the menu.

Truxtons is a great neighborhood resturant for anytime of day meal. Meet for weekend brunch with your friends and or family, the chicken and waffles are yummy. My favorite is the turkey sandwich, I can call my order in for lunch or days when I don't want to cook dinner and I know it's freshly prepared good clean food.

Truxton's is a very happy place. The waiters and waitresses are all HAPPY. They seem like they are about the happiest people on Earth and greet you as if it's your birthday. The food is good, the drinks are strong, and it has become one of our favorite places in the whole wide world.

Very friendly atmosphere with excellent service. We had to wait about 5 minutes at 6:30 PM on a Saturday night, not bad. Large shared parking lot available with free parking. The monkey bread was delicious, as were the fish tacos. Shared the giant cookie/ice cream among three of us - wow! Had a nice strong lemonade/whisky cocktail. This location doesn't have the extensive beer menu that the other location apparently does. I'd make Truxton's a regular destination if I lived in the area.

We went to Truxton on our way back to LAX. The food was delicious and we had the best apple tart "Granny's Apple Tart" for dessert. I would definitely recommend this as a place to eat for a reasonable price!

This restaurant is THE BEST place to go when in Los Angeles. Everything on the menu sound delicious! Must say everything I ordered receives a A+++++. When there try the chili wings and the monkey bread! Don't forget to try the lamb tacos. Yummy Breakfast served all day! This place is a WINNER!! #goodeats

I sometimes join fellow retirees for dinner and wine at this restaurant. The food is very tasty, although a little pricier than other establishments in the area, and the service is prompt and friendly.

So amazing ! Great find near LAX. The staff from the manager to the busboy offered incredible service. Can’t wait to go to Santa Monica location too

Wonderful and unexpectedly great food paired with superb service. We ordered 2 salads that were s real treat.

We were staying at one of the big hotels on Century Blvd outside the entrance to LAX and one Wednesday evening, decided to look for a local place not too far away. As it so happened, Truxton's was hardly a mile north and easily accessable by car (one can actually watch planes landing at the airport, through the south windows). There's a large shared parking lot behind (south of) the building, with two-hour parking; which was plenty of time. We arrived around 6:30 pm and Truxton's was already filling up for dinner. Since we didn't have reservations, we had a brief wait before we were seated, which was fine. Seemed to be a lot of folks who were stopping in right after work. The dining room is larger than it looks from the outside; there is table, booth, and counter seating within. A little noisy when busy, but not a problem. The menu is quite extensive, though finding something non-vegan and not too spicy took a bit of scrutiny. Our party settled on the Wild Mushroom Linguini (with chicken added) and the Tavern Burger, with starter salads. The meals were excellent. The linguini with chicken was a very ample portion in itself. An extra side of sauteed spinach really rounded out the meal. Dinner for two came to about $47. Unusually, a 3% "hospitality charge" was added (about $1.50) to the bill. Maybe that's an LA thing? Overall, Truxton's is a nice find with good chow, and it's a place I'll look forward to visiting again when I'm in the LAX area.

No need to go anywhere else. I have been everywhere in Westchester and there is no point anymore. Just go to truxtons if you want good food without driving to Santa Monica.

Service with a smile and answered questions about menu giving suggestions and recommendations Good food and ample portions. Variety of food types on the menu. From hamburgers to Mexican choices and Asian choices. Something for everyone

I've been to Truxton's a hand full of times in the past 5 years, but this time, not so great. Had the Monkey Bread for the first and it was tasty. I've had the French Onion Soup before and it was great, but not this time. Altho, the server did remove it from our bill. My entire party was not impressed.

Looked and they found this place. Had the French onion soup and it was excellent. Out of monkey bread, so we had the Buffalo cauliflower. Had the beef brisket sandwich and it was great. They had garlic cheese fries and the were awesome!!

The Westchester area has several great restaurants where you can grab a bite before you go to the airport. It's so close you don't have to worry about traffic! Truxton's is one of the nicer spots in the area, with a varied menu, lots of healthy options and a great bar. I had the Caprese Burger Patty - I loved it because of the flavour, but also because it was such a great option for my diet. It is served without a bun with mozzarella, tomato and basil and your choice of side. The beef was very high quality and nicely prepared. It's a full bar with great bartenders - I'll definitely be back next time I'm on my way to the airport.

In LA for training & wanted a place to eat with good food. Truxton’s fits the bill...PLUS great customer service, variety of choices of what to eat, and a comfortable setting.

I come here every 6-8 weeks and am rarely disappointed with the food. It's not cheap but it is, I think, good value. The menu is not, on the whole, a traditional menu. My go to item on the menu though is their fish and chips which, as a British person who has tasted many wonderful fish and chips, I can say that this is the best fish and chips that I've tasted. It costs c$17 and you get 3 decent size pieces of well cooked fish in a crispy but not greasy batter, and it's served with 3 sauces. And the fries are just amazing; they are made with lots of garlic and parmesan. Service is always good and the food is always fresh.

Food was poorly plated. Grains of rice scattered on plate. Black beans running down side of cup. Fish taco was bland. Disappointed. The manager,Eddie, stopped by the table and I told him the above. He is replacing my order with shrimp taco which he says is amazing. Because of his efforts upgraded rating from 2 to 3. The third picture is of the shrimp taco plate. Much better. Taco much more favorable

Exceptional as always. We dine here whenever we are staying overnight on our way out of the country. Food is consistently amazing and the staff top notch

The parking lot was packed so I knew it would be good. Nice dining area and small bar. The staff was friendly and the food and drink was excellent.

Truxon's has the look and feel of what would be a typical diner if you were on the east coast. Now toss the comfort food that would be on the east coast and the food at Truxtons exceptional in its diversity and flavor....nothing like what would be found in an old school diner. I had shrimp tacos which where excellent in their flavor, seasoning and presentation. It was perfect first stop when I arrived in LA last weekend. Good service and excellent food. I will return next chance I have. Well done.

We were taking some friends to LAX to catch a flight and stopped off at Truxton's for dinner. We were seated right away. My wife and I had the Sriracha grilled chicken bowl. Nice heat and flavor. My son had Chili Verde Burrito. Our friends had salads and wings. Everybody was pleased with their orders. The nice part was that we were able to sit and visit with our friends in a nice atmosphere, with good drinks.

We were traveling on Thanksgiving day and needed a place to eat near the LA airport. We stumbled upon Truxtons and were thrilled to find it open. Two of us had salads and they were amazing!! I highly recommend this restaurant!

The fish was fried in a light batter, it was almost like tempura batter. Light and crunchy. The fries were good, but nothing to brag about.

I'm a patient guy, but patience only goes so far. If you are going to have us wait almost an hour for our meal, then the food better be 5 stars worthy!! Well, that was not the case at all. Everyone in our party thought their entrees were good, but not so super delicious that it was worth the wait. Our server was alright, but way overworked. They must have had staff who called in sick or something cause they were seriously understaffed. There were two servers waiting on the patrons. The restaurant was probably about 90 percent full at the time. Monkey Bread was pretty good, and I would order again if ever I returned. My Wife finished her Portland Burger with Sweet Potato Fries which was surprising. She was extremely hungry because of the looooong wait. My Chicken Tortilla soup and my onion jam grilled cheese sandwich was alright. Chances are not good that I would ever return to Truxton's American Bistro. The wait time just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Flew into LAX right in time for Rush Hour traffic. Decided to grab a bite instead of braving the 405 and going home hangry. I have two words … monkey bread. Ok maybe I have more than two but when you look at the title the monkey bread is the primary reason. Served with three dipping sauces. A lover of all ranch dressing, I tried that first and questioned why you would even want to dip in anything else until I tried the garlic butter and then everything became confusing … which did I actually like better. So delicious my husband said it would be dangerous if we lived close by and we did order one to go for dinner tomorrow night. I had a “cup” of French onion soup which was really a small bowl and probably the best French onion soup I have ever had. My husband shared his rotisserie chicken and Parmesan garlic fries. Crispy skin but moist and tender inside. What impressed me most was you could order 1/4 or a 1/2 but if you ordered a half you got a choice off all white, all dark, or both. Smart! Clean. Kind of a rustic chic decor and the nicest people. Seriously everyone that seated, served, delivered, including management that stopped by was just lovely. We live around 20 miles away and my husband said we may need to head back from time to time. Thanks for helping us avoid traffic. Side note I looked up restaurants in the Around Me app, not TripAdvisor which is unusual and picked this place even though in that app the location came up as something else. I think we were guided here 🙏🏻

Looking for a quick meal while staying overnight waiting for a morning flight out of LAX, I found Truxtons. Easy to get to, close decor and delicious, comfort food with a great staff. Everything I needed!

Truxton’s American Bistro offers high quality food offerings in a relaxed atmosphere. I really enjoyed their Thai wings. The service was great. I sat at the bar with Jules, a friendly Australian bartender, and enjoyed my blue cheese encrusted steak. This place is a great place for dinner or lunch!

Our family of 7 all enjoyed our meals here...friendly and attentive server and reasonable prices...highly recommend.

My coworker and I were lucky enough to find Truxton's when we were staying over in LA for a brief business trip. It was a hidden gem in what appeared to be a pocket neighborhood along the main street out front. We came in on a weekday and requested seating in the lounge/bar area. There is a very open space layout to the restaurant but we were happy with the look and feel of the restaurant. Our server, Janel, was an absolute jem. After our long day of client meetings she took great care of us with an upbeat and jovial attitude which was the perfect finish to our day. My companion and I decided to split some food for our meal. We ordered a salad and a sandwich. Both were excellent and we ate every bite on our respective plates. We enjoyed Truxton's so much we almost wish there were one we could go to here in Oregon. If I'm ever back in this area I will not hesitate to return for another meal. I will also check to see if Janel is there & if she is I'll request to be seated in her area!

This place has a very diverse menu. Breakfast items, every kind of omelette you can think of, burgers, bowls, salads, Indian dishes, Good service. Simple, upbeat, ambiance. We came for lunch after lots of exercise and portions are generous. All dishes were delicious. Monkey bread is their specialty item.

The firecracker chicken skewers are amazing, I have also ordered the honey glazed shrimp, Chipotle BBQ skewers and chicken tortilla soup, the reality is that it's all anazing.

Good food, there were 5 of us and all ordered different things. So ranging from the miso salmon to the El paso burger plate to the normal burger it was ll very good and good value. Very friendly service. At the end we were in a rush so asked to have a pumpkin cheescake to take way and it was just amazing!!

The place is small, so you may have to wait for a table, but the food and service is well worth it. The food selection is very good. From late day brunch on Sunday, to sandwiches and creative plates, there is something for everyone here.

We came for breakfast after our flight into LAX. I had the Gilly Burger and hubby had the Cali Burrito. We both enjoyed our meals and would definitely be back when we fly in early!

What an amazing find. We visited here a few years back when we landed @ LAX, dropping off our Duaghter to start at UCLA. I'm a foodie, and I was very satisfied with our visit. So we stopped two years later, June '17 and it was still very good. Great selection, a little of everything.

We had an early dinner at this restaurant and it was just ok. The place itself looks nice, which is a plus, but the food was not as tasty as I was expecting. I was very disappointed because it looked very good but it was lacking taste, like watered. Maybe I was just not fortunate with my election. The drinks were good though. Service was a little slow but polite. The prices were normal, not too expensive nor inexpensive.

Maybe I'm getting tired of the formula - and of formula restaurants in general - but this place didn't excite me. Typical big bar open to the huge dining area filled with clothless tables. At least, while vibrant, it wasn't too noisy to be able to hold a conversation. The recommended Monkey bread was good, but not special, and gained from the melted garlic butter. A fancy grilled cheese sandwich was a step up, with a sweet onion jam adding a pleasant touch. My dining companion's mushroom flatbread had decent flavor, but was overdone and overly crispy - a common problem with flatbreads. Cocktails are a big focus, and profit center, and they emphasize "hand-crafted" ingredients, if you're into that kind of thing. Our server was the best part of the meal; a young graphic artist who proudly pointed out that he had designed the table card, and was attentive but not intrusive throughout the meal. All in all, a sterile atmosphere with decent food and service, but no character or heart. I guess you can't expect more from a formula.

Had lunch here, today. This is a great restaurant, close to LAX in Westchester. We arrived at 11:30 am, so beat the lunch crowd. Our waitress was excellent. Reviewed the menu and specials of the day. Our food was delicious and served quickly. Our party of four had the chinese chicken salad, onion soup (bowl of soup is huge) and chicken/avocado club sandwiches. Husband & I each ordered the chicken/avocado club sandwich and each brought home a half a sandwich. Should've ordered one and shared it - but this way, we each have lunch for tomorrow. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We lived the wedge salad, honey fish tacos and lemonade. They accommodated allergies and server was incredible. During our time in LA it was our go to place. Hope to return someday.

We go o Truxton's when it is our Birthday because they have a special $20 off your bill if your Birthday is either during that month or only a week away. (Check this out first). There is a system to this so contact the restaurant. Once you are in the system that is it. Big Parking lot, Great Food and Good Service. The prices is good, but not cheap. I love the environment and the vibes. They also have a nice sit down bar with a TV. HAPPT BIRTHDAY!

Went here for lunch with friends. A friend and I had the Chinese chicken salad and we both really enjoyed it. The small is an ample amount unless you are really hungry. Since they serve brunch on weekends, the other friend had a Belgian waffle with turkey bacon. She also enjoyed her meal. There is free parking, good service, and a nice atmosphere. Would definitely return.

Great local eatery, specializing in comfort food made with fresh ingredients. Everything on the menu is delicious! Once tried you'll be back for more!

Dined at Truxton's about 5 times now in past couple of years. They have an amazing menu and unique dishes. Of course, you can't go wrong with the monkey bread. I tried the fresh beer battered cod fish and chips, which was superb. The fries are taken to a new level with garlic and herbs. the fish tacos are excellent as well. The dishes taste very fresh and very friendly service staff. I highly recommend.

We were so happy to find this place, thanks to Trip Advisor, when we were looking for a place to eat dinner fast after collecting famiy at LAX. It was only 5 mins away from the arrivals, there was plenty of street parking, and it was nice to sit down and have a chat, rather than stop for fast food. The food was very good and the service was terrific. We will remember this for future airport trips.

We ordered monkey bread which was delicious and the signature brisket sandwich which was tender and tasty. Servers very attentive and helpful with menu selections. Would definitely go back to try more menu items.

Excellent Service & Food, every single staff member was on point and all of our orders were delicious. Extensive menu & portions were generous. Drinks were delicious too! Thank you for a prompt and delicious meal!

Needed place near our hotel for dinner Went at 5 pm on a Monday and was quite surprised at how nice this place is. Easy parking lot behind the restaurant. Hostess offered us several booth locations Kyle H was our waiter and he was fabulous. Explained the menu to us and quickly brought us our monkey bread. Worth the high price with yummy dipping sauces. Had to wait a bit for the wine but Kyle was very apologetic saying the bartender was on a break. Also told us Mondays are half price on the wine and believe it or not the house red was not that bad. One of us had the special seafood pasta. I had the quarter chicken which was very good. It comes with fries but for $1.00 you can substitute a small house salad. Too full for dessert but they looked delicious

My sister decided to have her baby shower at Truxton's. I never would have thought they were available to accommodate such a gathering, but the food was well prepared, the service was seamless, the rented room was well appointed. Kudos to Truxton

We were flying out next day and this place was near our hotel. Well, let me tell you what a find. Calvin, our waiter made this experience unique period. Had the "Al Pastor" Mexican dish. Very tasty as was the house salad. The burger was also tasty. Service, food, setting and especially the price ... makes this a must if you're anywhere near LAX.

This was an extremely pleasant surprise. We were looking for a place in an area we were not familiar and stumbled upon this restaurant. It was truly FABULOUS! The food was fantastic! The service was GREAT! The cocktails were delicious. It's a casual place and big but we were very happy here. We came in for lunch on Friday, Oct. 6th and Andrea was our server. She was great! Actually, everyone that came by was terrific! The Bahn Mi (Pork sandwich) was DELICIOUS! Great place to go with a lot of people because there is so much variety.

Everything was very good. The food was tasty, the presentation was good, the service was friendly, the ambience was warm and inviting, and the prices were reasonable. Recommended.

The measure of a good restaurant is simple. Food, atmosphere and quality of service. Truxtons has it all. If I were to pick out a weak spot it would be the selections of food available. I found it a little challenging because I’m a meat and potatoes guy. Simple is always easy. The quality of food is definitely there. The servers care and are very attentive.. also the bar serves good drinks..people of westchester do adore it

I met a colleague her for lunch for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. There was no wait to be seated, the server was very attentive and the food was tasty. I had the chicken burger with garlic parmesan fries.

My mom and I came here after a 5 hour flight and 7+ hours after a light breakfast. We were not disappointed. The servers (we had two, Mike and Matt) were friendly, funny, and on top of things, even though the restaurant was incredibly busy. We got our appetizer quickly (the monkey bread is delectable, good portion for two people to split). The Berkelee Veggie burger was DIVINE, a really intuitive melding of different flavors. I must recreate it sometime, it was truly delightful. My mom thought the sweet and spicy shrimp tacos were good if you like shrimp tacos (I do not). The sweet potato fries are also pretty delicious. Overall, if you're near LAX and want awesome food, come here!!!!

We were at the Santa Monica location. the food and service are always outstanding. There is valet parking in the back which is good as Santa Monica has very restricted parking

First time diner on advisement of a friend we scanned the Menu and all homed in on the Mussels! Having lived in the Canadian Maritimes I was aware of PEI Mussels and was curious as to how they would be! The chef did them justice...Served in a light Thai Coconut broth they were outstanding and though none of us were keen bread eaters here was the exception when we used the crisp garlic bread to finish off the sauce! Our Server Calvin was brilliant and returned several times to ensure our food was good and that we had drinks on hand. We never felt rushed and yet service was very prompt. There was a buzz in the room but noise level was such that we could easily converse and yet still be aware this was the 'in' place to be. Definitely I shall return as it is handy to hotels near LAX where I usually stay and an east 10-15 minute drive.

I was very impressed by how the staff received us and handled our request to be seated in a particular booth. We had to wait a few minutes while our booth was prepared and during those minutes I noticed a few guests leaving while staff greeted them goodbye and even held the door open. Applause! Also the (very cute and handsome) waiter did his best to accommodate us well. The meal was great and the non-alcoholic cocktail tasteful. So far a perfect night so we left a decent tip. However, after signing the credit card statement we walked out and noticeably said "goodbye" to all 3 staff at the desk. Two of them seemingly did not hear me because they were busy and one girl did not hear me while she obviously was texting on her mobile. Too bad... Stay focused people! This could have been a perfect score for me tonight. Still I would recommend this Bistro. We all make mistakes sometimes.

I visited Truxton in Westchester, Ca last evening and had the Ancho Shrimp with no Mayo Coleslaw, what a treat! Love the atmosphere, full bar and great staff. Price points and variety was great.

Truxton's in Westchester is one of our go-to places when visiting the Los Angeles area. Always a great experience. Great menu options. A good selection of beer. Great service.

This restaurant has the the most extensive and unique menu in the south bay. There is something on their menu for everyone. It is a very busy place, so reservations a re a good idea. But without reservations, but you can always sit at the large bar to have a meal. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. The food we ordered was delicious. The prices are reasonable.

This was a fun and delicious stop for us. We do not live close so this was a happenstance find that we really enjoyed. Try some of their special, they are great.

Got there it was about a 15 minute wait but it turned out to be a little bit longer. When we got seated our service was nothing short of excellent. The food was so good. The monkey bread is something you got to try. My entire meal was really good. This restaurant is a wonderful place to eat. I'm sure Ashley one of the managers will be coming to all the tables to check on your food. She was a very nice woman. If you are in Los Angeles you MUST TRY this restaurant.

We had lunch and dinner in this restaurant several times over the last 10+ years. My friend and I had lunch there last Friday at 11:30AM. At that time the restaurant was less busy and we were seated immediately. Both of us ordered Chinese Chicken Salad, one small and one large. To me both looked about same size and the price difference was also not much (please see the pictures). The salad was great! The service was very prompt and the server was very friendly. This is a great restaurant in the Westchester area of Los Angeles, close to LAX.

We met a friend while flying through LAX. He suggested this restaurant. What a great choice. Food was so good. So well cooked and such good ingredients. Service fantastic. Thanks for making our stop so nice.

We needed a place to eat lunch near LAX and found this place. It had plenty of patrons, but wasn't packed. The wait staff was friendly, but we waited for 45 minutes to be served a burger and tacos. Both were very bland, perhaps because organic? The price was quite high for what we got. Expect to pay 50 dollars for two for lunch with no alcohol.

Have been to this Truxton's on a previous trip to LA & loved it. This visit wasn't quite as good as last time but still great! We asked for our appetizers to be served seperate to the main meals as we were not in a rush. The mains arrived the minute we finished appetizers so we asked for them to be brought back a little later. The time of day (about 5pm) was quiet so there was no need to rush us. Had a great Bloody Mary!! Food was good.

Extensive menu and constantly busy. Some interesting choices. A few dishes such as the taquitos were a little pedestrian, but some flashes of inspiration such as the red quinoa salad and its superb presentation lift it above average. My mango lemonade was not so much infused with basil as promised, but possibly had some basil leaves waved over the glass. Service is good and prices reasonable. You will find something to please

The atmosphere is pleasant and the food is really really good! Nice diverse menu. Dallas was our waiter last night & he is by far the BEST waitperson we've had there! The other staff members haven't been very good, but Dallas is great! We've never been disappointed with any of our food choices.

3rd time here, and twice in one trip! My daughter took me here on the recommendation of a local a few months ago. Every dish during that visit was delicious. Upon my arrival at LAX during this latest trip, I ate lunch there and also ate dinner there 2 nights later before my flight home! The servers were great and lots of locals eating and enjoying the atmosphere. The lunch special srircha bowl was fantastic. My dinner was the al pastor sandwich, the combination of flavors was absolutely amazing. I can't wait for my next trip to LA.

What a great experience from start to finish. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. The grapefruit margarita was perfect! Two people in our party are sensitive to gluten and our severs were on it! The menu selections amazing - very creative. We are visiting LA but if I lived here this would be a regular spot for me for sure!

Menu with variety - burgers, sandwiches, salads, fish, brisket, grilled/rotisserie chicken - all very good, dishes with American, Mexican or Asian flair. Our first time to have the fish and chips and those were UK good - perfectly cooked and even have malt vinegar, in addition to the American sauce options. Garlic/parmesan fries are always good (lots of garlic!), too. Must start with the monkey bread. Finish with any dessert - flourless chocolate cake with salted caramel gelato was a nice ending this time. We love to go for lunch and get the healthy and tasty salads. Always friendly for families and friends - you may have a wait, but it's worth it.

An interesting menu with a lot of slightly different choices. I especially like their burgers and my wife loves their salads. They also have a vegetarian menu and a full bar.

I had the grilled fish tacos, the Birthday girl had spicy shrimp tacos, and friend had an avocado toast. The menu was extensive. Breakfast 9-3pm. Wonderful atmosphere, service, and food. My first time here. I will be back.

I'm not saying worth an hour, but certainly worth 30 minutes. Went there with a group of 4, we waited about 20 minutes. The food was great, especially for the price point. Beer was a little pricey, but considering the location, it is on par. My only negative would be to say they need a few more servers, as service was kind of slow once seated

Great place for American fare with unique choices! Ordered the grilled artichoke (which is a whole artichoke split length-wise, choke scooped out, and chargrilled) served with aioli sauce - I could have ate 10 of these lol. Monkey bread is also a must - cheesy and buttery with the garlic butter on the side! Surprisingly it is also delicious with the ranch side. I ordered the beer battered fish - at this point I was half full from the apps, and even half full, this fish was some of the best beer battered fish. Perfectly salted and flavorful CRISPY crust, and the cod was super fresh and flaky. Not over cooked. May return here before the end of my trip! A must-visit.

They updated their menu and prices. All the portions are big enough for two especially the salads. it is a nice sit down place north of the airport, but hard to find a parking spot since they share with several other businesses. They have a private room for meetings and parties. It is ok, but i would not wait more then 10 minutes. Not for people watching what they eat except for the salad which is large enough for two!

If your near LAX or even if you're not this restaurant has everything you could possibly want, including a full bar. The service is excellent, the food superb and the menu has some very unique choices. We opted for the Monkey Bread which is served with 3 different dipping sauces and wine by the glass. Because we had bread for the appetizer, we selected the burger plates (no bun) which has a generous portion of beef cooked to order & served with various toppings, choice of vegetable or salad. We chose asparagus which was grilled to perfection. You can download the menu to see all they have to offer. They also have a Santa Monica location.

This gem is quietly nestled in an urban neighborhood. The menu is amazing it has a real bar and large group meeting room. The hosts/hostesses are exceptional. The menu is culinary but creative and ‘normal’. You can order burgers, salads, pizza, pasta, bowls or high end steak and seafood. But all have a chef’s touch. They have vegetarian and vegan options too. I had this ‘mocktale’ which is a nonalcoholic fizzy drink DELICIOUS!!! They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. More for adults but it has a family atmosphere. I had a Shanghai bowl, it was yummy. Just enough. Until next time!

Great menu, 30 minute walk from the Crown Plaza airport hotel, Debi knows the menu well. Great menu options. Wonderful flavours - we had the Gills Burger & no bun chicken burger. Very busy place but lots of seating. Nice atmosphere inside. Visited on a Friday at 5pm

Sunday's after church is always a time when family and a crowd of us get together as a group to share a good meal. We oftern find our way to Truxton's! This is a go to; not because its close or because its convenient; but because everytime we go there, the food has been GREAT! Along with that, the atmosphere is good too. Expect a bit of a wait; but once you get seated, you won't be disapponted. If you're looking to have a special event, they've got you covered. Recently, we had a party for my sister there and Truxton's team knowked it out of the park!! Way to go team.

The front desk of the hotel recommended this place. Best advice I've ever been given in 28 years of life. There was a full parking lot, so we parked on the street, not a big deal to me. For starters, we got the garlic monkey bread. It came with 3 dips to use, marinara, homemade ranch, and garlic oil. The oil was a little bland, but the marinara and ranch were both great. Then a side cesar salad for me, and a lettuce wedge for my boss (we were on a work trip). Both were delicious and fresh. For my meal, I had the macaroni and cheese with bacon and tomatoes (I asked them to hold the tomatoes, not a fan) topped with the thinest onion straws ever. My only complaint about it was that it was in a bowl and took too long to cool off (but they gave me a plate under the bowl and I could have just dumped it onto it...) For dessert I had the caramel gelato -caramel stuffed churros. Seriously, there are no words to describe how wonderful it was. I wish I wasn't there on business so that I could have tried some of their drinks, they all sounded wonderful. The waitress was telling me about the brunch they had on the weekends, I need to go back to LA...

I always get to a restaurant before noon so we can get parking and a good table. We got both. The menu is diverse enough to please all kinds of picky eaters and even had things for vegetarians. Service was really good too. We are really looking forward to having this restaurant a lot closer than LAX; they are building one only 10 minutes from us in Palos Verdes.

We were in LA for a visit. Went to Truxton's for dessert. I ordered the Flourless chocolate cake with the salted caramel gelato. It was delicious. I didn't know what to expect but it was a great choice. The atmosphere was really comfortable and neighborly. We wanted something light so we ordered the seasonal grilled asparagus with garlic and cracked pepper, due to we just wanted dessert. They were delicious We plan to come and order a meal. We notice on the menu that they also have a Sunday brunch which looks delicious also. We will be back again when were in LA.

Easy dinner with friends after LA tour, good service and plates. The menu is mix of American and Mexican foods.

We happened upon this place before our late flight. Many options to choose from, nice waitstaff, overall very nice causal dining. Would go again

We were looking for a place to have a quick dinner before dropping off some friends at LAX for flight home. Each of us ordered a different meal. Everyone was more than pleased. The quick and very attentive service was just a bonus. We will definitely be back here.

Met my sister here for dinner while in LA for business. Had the Chinese Chicken Salad (small order). It was very tasty and filling. The service was excellent as well. Definitely worth a visit.

First restaurant visited after landing into LAX and now reviewing after a complete 10 days of touring CA. Still rates as one of the better restaurants I visited with the family. Good is good and not priced through the roof. Worthwhile to visit.

I eat here regularly when in town on business. I like to sit at the bar where there seems to be a regular crowd of locals nightly. The food is always good, the beer cold, and the prices about what you would expect to pay in LA.

They have great food for lunch or dinner. The weekend brunch is tasty too. They only problem I have with Truxton's is that they NEVER have monkey bread! That's one of the reasons I go and they have it maybe 1 out of every 4 times I go. If they know that it is a popular item then maybe they should just make more to meet the demand. Parking can be difficult to find if you go during peak meal times. The service is always great too.

We come to Truxton's about once a month. Dinner is our favorite even though we have been here for lunch. My husband loves the spaghetti and meatballs and hangar steak entrees. I love the New Delhi Curry Bowl. The Monkey Bread appetizer is fantastic! The calamari and ahi tuna/avocado tower appetizers are great as well. We typically have wonderful service. The only downside is the parking can be suspect on weekends. Weeknight parking is much better. And if you have time, the bistro cookie dessert is to die for!

Lack Integrity . . . Order Turkey and receive Chicken with no communication that they switched Chicken for Turkey . . . thinking that the difference would not be detected. Poor Quality Control . . . order Fish & Chips and receive Fish & Asparagus . . . again with no communication from Truxton that there was a switch. Understand that Chips and Asparagus look similar! So, the Chef let that leave the kitchen. Better Double-check the bill to see if they overcharged!

While spending the evening in LA, my husband and I found this great restaurant. The staff was friendly, the food was great. The fish and chips are fantastic! Would definitely recommend.

Truxton's has a big menu. The Bangkok Chicken Salad was good. Truxton's is located in a shopping center a mile from the airport, so it was very convenient.

Visited for lunch. Excellent food. Excellent value. Service was great. Conveniently located less than a mile from LAX

My husband and I were introduced to Truxton's by our daughter who suggested we join her there for lunch. There is a large parking lot behind the restaurant, which is helpful in busy Westchester. We received a friendly welcome and were shown to our booth. The menu at Truxton's is quite varied with many tempting choices. I decided on the macaroni and cheese--large elbow macaroni, 5 cheeses, applewood smoked bacon, roasted tomatoes, and topped with crispy onions--all in a skillet. This dish was very delicious! The cheeses were creamy and the bacon flavored every bite; the roasted tomatoes were sweet and juicy and the onions on top brought a nice crispy texture. It was a very generous serving; in fact, I had to make myself stop before finishing it all--I knew I would very much enjoy some left-overs for the next day's lunch (which I did). I also had a (non-alcoholic) blueberry cooler which was very refreshing. My husband enjoyed his candied jalapeno chicken burger and my daughter managed to finish a generous serving of a spicy chicken breast with couscous. Throughout our meal the wait staff was fun and friendly and helpful. All in all, I enjoyed the lunch so much that I returned to Truxton's 5 days later with my sister! This time I had a very delicious pastrami and swiss cheese sandwich on a pretzel roll. The pastrami was very lean and grilled with crispy edges--Yum! I was concerned the sauce might be too spicy so the waitress brought it on the side...and she did not forget to return to our table to check on me. Turned out the sauce was just zippy and not overly hot. So, another great meal!

My family of five had dinner here on the recommendation of our hotel concierge. Said he sends lots of people here and they've never been disappointed...until now. Maybe my expectations were too high. The food was fair. The menu was a bit limited for my taste. The service was definitely poor although they didn't appear to be overcrowded. Every part of the process seemed to take longer than it should have - from being seated to ordering to being served to getting water refills. We ended up getting a dessert to go (when on vacation, dessert is a must) because we were just tired on being there. Maybe they were having a bad night :-(

This is a busy place and it isn't a bad idea to book. The service is friendly and efficient. The menu has alot of variety and is quite interesting. Both our meals were delicious. Only downsides are, it can be a little noisy and parking can be a challenge.

We have been here many times and always enjoy our dinner and dessert. When they have it the Passion Fruit Cheesecake is to die for. Burgers great and Miso Salmon a treat for those that like fish. A little noisy. Lots of choices on the menu and service is always good. Parking a little difficult.

Los Angeles seems to be a middle class food desert. Lots of high-end restaurants; and lots of lower-tier ethnic places. Truxton's is right in the middle with a wide array of standard fare. So, if you're looking for a great burger, fries, and a beer in a welcoming environment, Truxton's is the place. The food is great as are the staff.

a very popular restaurant that has been in the Westchester area near LAX. The staff were friendly & helpful. The meal selections are varied...try the fish of the day...delish!

Location: LA - Westchester Parking: on-site lot Atmosphere: cheerful, friendly, relaxed Staff: super friendly, really helped us on a busy Sunday Menu: great options Drinks: the mimosa bottle service was great Meal: 14th Street breakfast sandwich was awesome Prices: almost pricy Visit Again: yes Recommend To Friends: yes

I live nearby and come here often. Everything I've tried has been good. I usually get a burger because they're terrific and always cooked just right. I order it rare and it comes either rare or slightly more towards medium so someone is really paying attention on the kitchen. Roast chicken, brisket, charred broccoli... They definitely know how to make vegetables interesting and tasty. You can't go wrong here. Today is my first visit for breakfast and the menu is inventive and extensive.

Went this evening for dinner and were seated within 10 minutes, even though estimate was approximately 20. Had Joel as server. He must have been having an off day as he forgot to bring us our appetizer and someone else brought us our food. He never offered water, but we did have drinks from the bar. Manager came out and apologized, and did offer to give us our appetizer (monkey bread) to go at no charge. We did end up doing that and - get it, folks! Sooooo delicious!!! Manager very hands on, helping out and was very gracious. He is a true asset to the establishment. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. A definite place to stop when in LA. Everyone has off days…we just hit it with our server. Doesn’t change our foodie experience. Just go!!!

2 stars for not giving me food poisoning and for nice enough staff before a flight. Otherwise, I wouldn't go back. I got a burger and tried to order a beer. The beer was out of stock early in the day on a weekend. The burger was extremely bland for $20ish and they missed both order notes: (1) I was asked how I wanted it cooked. I said medium. I got a fully well-done burger. If they hadn't asked, I wouldn't have cared, but they did which irritated me since I was looking forward to a medium patty. (2) I asked the burger to be cut in half, as recommended by other reviewers since the burgers are hard to eat due to size. It wasn't cut and it was impossible to eat. I had to cut it up myself, which was really difficult - I don't think I even had a steak knife. In n' Out is down the street. Go there instead.

We went to Truxton's for breakfast thi past Sunday. It happened to be Valentine's Day and a long weekend, but the wait for a table was quite reasonable. I ordered the 10" pan cake, and that is what is was, one huge pancake that came in a cast iron skillet. It was so good. Be sure to pour some of the bourbon sauce on it. I will definitely be back for that. Although the service was rather slow, it wasn't extremely noticeable. The servers all stopped by to make sure that we had everything we needed, including some extra bourbon sauce!
Most fantastic place to eat
We spent 3 weeks in america and this was the best place. They not only had the best meals (fresh herbs / surprising combinations / perfection om detail) for a good price but we also had a great waiter (thanks Dennis). I wish we lived around the corner :)
