The Worst Dining Experience

By Aleka G |

The service at this restaurant was truly disappointing. Our server rarely checked in, frequently made mistakes with our order, and was often seen chatting with others rather than being available when we needed assistance. We had to search for her multiple times, and our food arrived cold and overly salty on several occasions, adding to our frustration. To make matters worse, we were charged for water without prior notice and weren’t informed that substitutions weren’t allowed, despite no mention of this policy on the menu. Communication was lacking at every step, and when we asked questions, the staff responded defensively instead of offering help. They seemed more interested in shifting blame than taking accountability, leaving us feeling unheard and frustrated. While the food was good once corrected, the poor service overshadowed the experience, especially on a special occasion. The high prices make it hard to justify a visit, so if you’re coming for the food alone, be prepared for subpar service. Our second server, although initially helpful and polite, became a bit defensive when we asked for clarification on the check. She seemed hurried, gesturing close to my face as she explained that the check should be fine due to added gratuity and that her manager had adjusted it. She also mentioned that our previous server should have informed us about the no-substitution policy. However, she seemed rushed, as if she needed to move on to another table, which made the experience feel even more dismissive. Unfortunately, despite her assistance, the check still didn’t add up, leaving us uncertain about the final charges. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences we've had.

COME CUTE! There are photo opps at the door and throughout the restaurant. LELANI was everything!! She had great energy and was an amazing server! It honestly felt like I was chatting and interacting with a friend. She's beautiful and has a welcoming smile. It's clear she cares about her job and the service she provides. She also praised her fellow staff members, mentioning how well the bartender handles busy requests. It was refreshing to hear her speak positively about her teammates instead of the usual complaints you hear at other places. The food is great! I tasted something from everyone's plate, and it was all delicious! There were lamb chops, smoking drinks, and amazing desserts! Seriously, just give them a try. And the fire show was interactive and entertaining. For my birthday celebration, this was a great choice. I made a reservation about 2 weeks in advance, was late, but was accommodated within 2-3 minutes.

We wondered in here to get a bite and had a very good meal. Our server (Kimberly) was really nice and helped us determine what items we wanted. We would definitely go back if in the area.

Bucket List Check: Tulum Kitchen & Bar

By Deidre Rowe |

My best friend and I finally had the chance to visit Tulum Kitchen & Bar in Atlanta, GA, and it was everything I dreamed of! The music, the vibe, and the security guard's warm greeting set the tone for an amazing night. Our host welcomed greeting to us with a smile, and we knew we were in for a treat. Our server, Allen recommended some delicious mocktails. The snapper bites appetizer was TO DIE FOR! And for dinner, I had the oxtail pasta alfredo, which was rich and creamy, with plenty of meaty chunks. My friend's salmon pasta alfredo was cooked to perfection. However, there were two issues: our server didn't check in on us during dinner as it had been delivered by a different staff member, and the food was a bit salty. BUT, I must say when I made eye contact with the manager he stepped in, apologized, and turned it around! He explained that Sundays are usually slow nights, and we appreciated his transparency. Despite the minor hiccups, the atmosphere, entertainment, and food were top-notch. We'll definitely be back for that snapper dinner (and maybe a second round, too). If you're a foodie like me, add Tulum Kitchen & Bar to your bucket list! Rating: 4.5/5 stars The manager's intervention and the restaurant's overall vibe made our experience shine. Can't wait to go back!

Must Visit!

Oxtail Tacos- Delicious! Visited this establishment for the first time and I must say it is a nice vibe and the food is delicious and an unexpected treat of a “Fire show” Would definitely recommend to visit if you are in the area. You will need to make a reservation. Parking is the only negative. Very little parking and $20.
