The food was good. Did a lot of sharing. Enjoyed several appetizers and a good salad. The service was above reproach. We will return.

I scheduled this restaurant for a low key business dinner after reading reviews on OpenTable. It was excellent. Everyone had different dishes and it was all excellent. Friendly staff, great wine and cocktails. Would go again!

Taylor Street in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood, adjacent to the University of Illinois-Chicago campus, is known for its outstanding Italian restaurants. One of the best is Phil Stafani's Tuscany, located at 1014 West Taylor Street in the heart of Little Italy. It features inspired seafood, pasta and wood-fired pizza. On our most recent visit, my wife and I opted to try some different items, like the antipasto for two (prosciutto, speck, salami, grana, parmigiano, olives) and Tuscana salad for two (mixed greens, provolone, hearts of palm, chick peas, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, blue cheese vinaigrette). But we chose two perennial favorites, veal scaloppine and grilled veal chop, for entrees. You never can get enough of a good thing. And how many restaurants offer veal scaloppine? For dessert, I tried something different that sounded irresistible (and it was)--Crostata di Cioccolat, which turned out to be pecan crust with white and dark chocolate, fresh berries and strawberry glaze. My wife chose another old favorite which is a rarity on most menus, chocolate profiteroles with puffy pastry and Chantilly cream filling. The dessert menu is exceptional with such options as chocolate cannoli, chocolate mousse cake, gelato (pistachio, chocolate, vanilla), sorbet (lemon, coconut, peach) and cheesecake. At Tuscany, there is always something to look forward to.

Tuscany is part of the Stefani restaurant group. The food quality was had a 'chain' feel. We sat on the outdoor patio on a pleasant evening. Our veal scaloppine dish was acceptable with not outstanding characteristics. Another member of our group ordered eggplant parmagian. It was slathered with a large glob of cheese and an undelicate dropping of pasta. Another member ordered Mahi-Mahi over a dry vegetable cake.Wait staff was attentive but not professional. They wanted to be urban 'cute'. We would never return. With so many great dining options in Chicago, we would recommend skipping this Stefani failure.

These people are pros. The food is excellent, though sniffy "foodies" might find it slightly less so. What makes it for me is the service. I've never been treated coldly there. Never. And if I am fortunate enough to get a table with Big Mario, I am home. The place is at the edge of an old Italian neighborhood that, though transformed over the years and by the University of Illinois - Chicago as an adjacent presence, still retains a genuine sense of community. Tuscany fits comfortable in that tradition.

Authentic Italian spot just outside downtown. Valet parking is nice touch and they let us park after dinner while we grabbed a can to a Blackhawks game at United centre. Food was fantastic from salads to paster to the T-bone steak special and Italian beers. Very good service from friendly staff. Will return.

Got to eat outside on beautiful Chicago night. Excellent service. Good selection of appetizers, pastas and 2nd courses. Enjoyed flatbread pizza, Calimari, eggplant parm. Excellent fresh desserts (cannoli). Worth the trip away from downtown.

Tuscany is our New Year's Eve restaurant and as always it was flawless! The food, staff, drinks were all exceptional. Always a pleasure

I was at Tuscany yesterday having dinner with my family. The food was good , but the service was terrible. The bar tender was very rude and treated my family and I as if we were outsiders. I had a very unpleasant time and will never go back to pay money to be treated unfairly.

Our daughter and her husband brought us to Tuscany and so glad they did. We really enjoyed the food. I had the Melanzane Parmigiana and it was excellent. The service was just to our liking - not too intrusive but attentive when needed. We'll definitely will look forward to going back when we're in Chicago.

I haven't been back to eat here since retirement, and the food is as good then, as when we would pop here for dinner or lunch 4 or 5 years ago. Our waiter's tip on a malbec which I had ordered for my wife was right on the money, so I had it, too. The pulpo (octopus) salad was as we remembered it from before, and the pasta a la Bolognese was good. On a Wednesday evening, it wasn't as full as on Fridays or the weekend. Thank God!

On a visit to Chicago, a friend brought me here for dinner in Little Italy. We shared a salad of grilled calamari (amazing); I had the fagioli (enough for a meal when you add the garlic and bread); and then ordered the agnolotti on the special. It was all fresh and flavorful, and the profiteroles for dessert capped off a great evening. The bartender is generous with the drinks and the little patio outside is a nice option for a warm evening. I can't wait for my next trip!

Serve a baked garlic clove which they mash into a spread. My friend took me there after pick up at ORD. The service was very attentive and the prices very reasonable

I was with a party of 15, it was Administrative Assistants Day and I took them all to lunch. Everyone enjoyed their food. I had the crispy chicken and it was excellent! The service was swift and attentive. A comfortable room, clean fresh and bright. Easy to get to and in the Little Italy neighborhood just south of downtown Chicago. Clean amenities, friendly staff and a quick valet service. Overall excellent experience!

We had dinner at this charming restaurant for a special family occasion. We made reservations on a Saturday for a party of eight, just twenty minutes before arriving. We were seated in a quiet corner with a friendly waiter with an Italian accent. When my daughter asked if he was born in Italy, he confessed he was born in Chicago. The food was delicious. Two of the adults had the specials, pork shank and veal tenderloin, which were fairly expensive, but very good. The rest had soup or one of the delicious salads and pasta dishes. The bread with a made at the table garlic spread (roasted garlic mashed with oil and parmesan cheese added) was so good, everyone who had the pasta had food to take home. Even though they were very busy, they did not rush us, since we wanted to visit for a while. The decorations reminded us of Italy. We had wine, but several tables around us had cocktails. I understand that many of the waiters have been with the restaurant since it opened. There is reasonable valet parking, necessary because of the limited street parking.

Beautiful place, super staff and a very good meal. Would go back here in a heartbeat. Seems others would too since there are about 25 private wine storage lockers. That is always a good sign.

First off the service was the best we've had in a long while. Everyone was to attentive and eager to help out. My husband had the spaghetti di mare and I the pollo montecarlo. The Pollo was fantastic! I'm not sure I've ever had anything like it before. My husband really enjoyed the seafood options in his dish and said he would definitely order again. I would recommend making reservations. There is no dress code but I would suggest a collared shirt (only cause hubby didn't and he felt out of place).

I had the pleasure of brining some very good clients to this restaurant. Everything was perfect! The service the food-everting! Thank you!

Taken here by customer, good atmosphere service OK starters amazing and a great Veal chop, excellent wine list. A little pricey for an Italian but very good.

Went here again tonight after not having been here for years, and the food was ever bit as good as I remember. One of the perks here is roasted garlic on the table and you mash it up and put it on bread, which is delicious. Another great thing here is that they can accommodate a gluten free diet and my wife had a delicious pasta dish with tomato sauce and grilled chicken. I had a caesar salad, which was good, and the amazing Pear Ravioli, which is ravioli stuffed with pear, pine nuts and ricotta. It has a mascarpone sauce with sun dried tomatoes. It is truly exceptional, very unique and both of our entrees were served steaming hot, which gets extra points in my book. The only negative at all about the place is that it was very loud in there. Still worth it! One of my fave places in Chicago for sure. Try it!

Excellent food at a fair price point, portions were huge and everyone in my group took home leftovers. Service was prompt and courteous. I had the pear ravioli which was unique and so delicious. Overall feels like a classic family Italian joint, will definitely be going back!

What a wonderful surprise! Ended up at Tuscany's because the place we had planned to go to was closed. This is a very quaint, authentic Italian restaurant. Everything we ordered was awesome! Our waiter Mario was funny and helpful. I am so glad the other place was closed!

I have been here several times always with colleagues and always for dinner and just as always I found confirmation of excellent cuisine. Excellent fish or ham and mozzarella appetizer, as well as ravoili and tiramisu really similar to the original

We have dined here for lunch and dinner on several occasions and we've never been disappointed. We recommend the dinner specials. Some eclectic Italian wines are offered.

Recommended by concierge at Fairmont. Sat outside. Two attentive waiters who spoke Italian as their native language. Our waiter made excellent wine and food recommendations. Homemade Tuscan sausage was tasty. Pasta, seafood, and chicken dishes authentic. Overall a fantastic experience in Italian section of Chicago.

We had reservations in the early evening on a Saturday before an event we had tickets for at the United Center. We were seated promptly at a table close to the entrance/door, against a wall, and jammed close to everyone else. The way the four-person was situated on an angle yet against the wall meant that we were constantly getting bumped into (in fact, at one point a water bumped into my husband's arm so hard he spilled his food a bit as he was eating) because the staff used a very tiny area in between our table and another to get by. We commented to each other that simply having a two-person table could've solved this problem. Indeed, it was so crowded in there and we noticed it seemed that all couples were seated at four-person tables as there didn't seem to be any two-person tables to alleviate the cramped space. We kept moving our table as close to the wall as possible until finally we asked the host before seating the next party behind us if she could move that table behind us back farther so we could move our farther from the man-made aisle. It was also very frigid in there. I had to wear my coat during most of the meal and I commented that I wished I had brought my fingertip-less gloves to wear while I ate. And I wasn't the only one as I witnessed two others (men) complain to an employee about how cold they were. We ordered calamari and caprese salad for appetizers, both of which were good, but we've had much better at other restaurants recently. I ordered clam chowder soup and cesar salad as my main dish. My husband ordered spaghettini di mar for his main dish. Both were tasty. Our server was really great at coming by to ask us if we wanted refills on our drinks and how the food was.

We enjoyed a very nice meal here. Classic Italian done right. Service and food both very good. We recommend this restaurant highly.

Other reviewers can tell you about the food. As for me and mine, we were seated in the back room where larger groups are stuck, and the noise level had to be a constant 90 decibels. Forget having any sort of table-wide converstion, despite this being a reunion dinner. Really unpleasant experience overall. Yeah, the food's good, but breaking bread in the equvalent of a subway tunnel with all tracks running is not how we like to experience friends.

Authentic setting. I always love white linen tablecloths. I had the halibut special. Everything was good about it. My husband ordered the veal vesuvio. It was quite tender and tasty.

Wow, what a difference since we were here last time. A cold welcome from manager Alex and even colder, truly rude welcome from hostess. Reservation was made for party of four and we were on time. Since one couple was behind to park their car, we were told that if all four of us are not in we cannot be seated. That it will be, I quote, "waste of place"! The other couple was late a total of 4 minutes. When you have that many tables open, this was really unnecessary and unpleasant, having in mind we have been coming here for years. Our server Alfredo was great as always.

This is the classic restaurant chain, nothing is horrible, but nothing is good either. Food is just ok and I wouldn't go there if it wasn't down the street from me. So I end up going when I want Italian food, but don't feel like cooking. Fortunately that doesn't happen every often. Service is not that great either, it's actually pretty bad. If it was for me, they would get 0% tip, luckily for them, tipping is mandatory in this country

This was a very nice family style Italian resturant. Food was great and service was certainly with a smile. The food is served family style and in large quantities.

The food is very fresh. The calamari was excellent. Spaghetti with clams were outstanding fresh fish. The chicken with potatoes was very good and very well cooked. The location was great plenty of seats in the dining area. Service was excellent. Definitely will go back.

My husband and I were recommended to this restaurant by one of our business guests. We had a wonderful lunch time meal with everyone enjoying their selection. The portions were satisfying and the wait staff were on hand, but not obtrusive. Two of the guests had *special* orders (requesting something on the side), and it was honored. It was not terribly loud as some others have stated in their reviews, but we were there right at the opening time. It was however, starting to get very crowded by the time we left. We would definitely go back if in the area!

After a downtown focus group, we decided to head over to Taylor St. in Little Italy, just west of U.I.C. We found parking on the street and headed in to Tuscany on Taylor, where we were seated almost immediately. It was too cold to sit on the outdoor deck. Our server, Juan D., was right there and among other things provided us with a loaf of warm bread and some roasted garlic which he crushed up and added oil. Delicious with the warm bread! We ordered spaghetti with red sauce and scallops which was by far one of the best tasting sauces. I ordered the short rib ravioli which was light and very tender & tasty, though a little bit more would have been nice. For dessert, we ordered the crostata dt chocolato. Everything really did taste fantastic. Our server, Juan D., was efficient and was friendly and attentive. The total price was very reasonable.

This is our favorite place to eat. The food is very good. The service is like being at home with family. This is our neighborhood jewel. The from the bread to dessert there is nothing you can not eat except if you do not eat beef and pork. I do not eat beef and pork, yes the is my place. I find they we make you favorite dish. They will do it we pleasure. The menu changes and you can describe you previous menu and if the ingredients are available, it will be on your plate . Ask for Alex, he is the best. You can tell the Mc Gee sent you . Shalom

First time here and enjoyed dinner with family. Everything on the menu looked delicious, including the wine list. It's not too busy during mid week dinner time, but I'd imagine on the weekend it would be packed. Reservations are recommended.

On famous Taylor Street. Owner is really from Tuscany. Has a "local" feeling, even though the area can be a little touristy. Even though I prefer Rosebud sausage & peppers, I prefer this food. Valet, you will not find parking!

Excellent pear ravioli, Chilean sea bass, fried calamari, and veal marsala. Attentive service, good bread

The food is great! Love, love, love the roasted glove of garlic they serve with olive oil and bread ....... Ummmmm, ummmmm good!! If you've never tried this place it is worth the trip - yes, even if it is off the beaten path for you.

I have always had a great experience here. The wait staff is attentive and friendly, helpful with recommendations and engaging, a perfect balance. The food is always fresh and the best!

I wanted to enjoy Tuscany, and many people do, but my first visit, after many years of hearing good things, did not merit a return trip. I'll state my reasons in detail, because most other diners seemed to be enjoying themselves. The service did not have significant glitches. I booked a table for 2 on Open Table. It was a chilly with snow flurries falling last night, and the young host offered us a nice table on the window near the front door. The lady said no, fearing it'd be drafty and cold, and the host quickly and graciously escorted us to an interior table, which we appreciated. The waiter arrived quickly, with a basket of fresh Italian bread, and focaccia, tasty olive oil, and a saucer of roasted garlic cloves. We shared an appetizer of grilled octopus, and ordered linguine with clams in a white sauce, and agnolotti. The grilled octopus was excellent, served in a balsamic vinaigrette, a bit pricey at $14, portion size was satisfactory, but not generous. The lady's agnolotti was excellent, but very rich. One cannot complain about that. My linguine was good, but not great, because, the portion wasn't very large, the sprinkling of clams was spare, and this dish, which is usually made with a pinch of red pepper flakes in the pan, to add zip, had much too much pepper, and also, a lot of whole garlic cloves mixed in. Many people would like this, but it was eminently garlicky enough without the whole cloves. I have long believed that an Italian trattoria which claims to be upscale should offer patrons freshly grated real Reggiano Parmesan cheese, not Kraft's pre-grated sawdust from the green Comet Cleanser can. Tuscany served a little plastic shot glass of the latter. We shared a chocolate cannoli for dessert. It was delicious, but the chilled chocolate exterior was so hard, and so thick, we had to ask for a steak knife and try to chisel it in half. Why couldn't they set the chocolate cannolis out at 4 pm so that people could the chocolate could soften? It was delicious when we finally were able to hammer it into bite-size chunks. These are not major problems, and the waitstaff was attentive. Tuscany on Taylor is surely a great place to have a bite to eat out on the patio in summer. The salads and rack of lamb servings on tables nearby looked delicious, and I bet they serve a terrific Bolognese sauce, which I should've tried last night. However, nothing happened last night to make me anticipate a return visit. Chicago is awash with good Italian restaurants. All of that said, those who visit Tuscany on Taylor will probably like it. It's very noisy and hard on the ears, even without music, but festive, and valet parking is offered for a bargain $6. I'll go back again sometime, but not for quite a while.

Neighborhood diamond that has great people and good food. The place is welcoming, friendly, and the foods are on point. The staff from the parking lot to bar and to watching the end of game after dining is more than just good. It the Italian disk is no menu, if you can describe your disk, they will make if for you; if the ingredients are available. Shalom

10 of us came for dinner and oh, what a dinner it was! My husband and I split the caprese salad with the imported Bufala mozzarella. Oh my! That was the best mozzarella I have ever eaten. So smooth, creamy, and moist. Wow. I had the cinghiale as my entree which was wild boar ragout and fresh pasta ribbons. My husband had a pork chop and our friends had a variety of dishes. Dessert was chocolate cannoli for me. Another good choice. The service was good for a literally packed restaurant. The wines were good. The food was outstanding. We all enjoyed our meals and I will definitely be back when I return to Chicago. Such a great meal!

I hadn't been here in years because I wasn't impressed then. I'm still not. The food was marginal, the service was fair, and the ambience was awful. Not somewhere I'd go back to. Not sure what others rave about.

Do your drinking at home. Although the cocktails are generous, but they are pricey. I took my brood of 7 there, in the hope that I would get away with a reasonable bill; I'm sure you can imagine the rest (not so much). The service was above par, food always excellent and moreover reasonably priced and they never rush you. We love going in summer, when we can eat outside!

Great authentic southern Italian experience. Even my Italian friends thought many of the dishes were excellent. Started with a wide range of appetizers including bruschetta, octopus, Parma prosciutto, calamari (neatly spilt and cut), and carpaccio. My main was the veal piccata - perfect! Had a nice sampling of excellent Italian red and white wines. Finished with an impressive sampling of desserts and a lavazza espresso. Service was personal and awesome.

Great Italian food. Great Service. Great atmosphere. Very authentic Italian restaurant. Looks and feels just like they do in Tuscany. The food, wine, desserts and service can't be beat. Valet parking is a plus.

Fabulous food and company for a pre-game dinner. May jerseys present. Sauces are fantastic. I had Penne with Scallops and it was among the best I've had, anywhere. Bill for two adults, two teens and wine was $110. Our new fav pre-game restaurant. Vallet, too, but check your car when it comes back - ours had a scuff.

Outstanding, real Italian cuisine. Excellent wait staff and great service. Very nice location in an old Italian Chicago neighborhood. We were in a party of 10 and had the service of 3 servers taking care of us. Top notch treatment from start to finish.

I haven't been to Tuscany since retiring but it seems not to have changed. The food is excellent, the noise level is High, the room is crowded, and the prices are HIGH! We had wine, and basic dinners, and the bill was over $200 for 4 adults. The noise and prices are why we didn't come here while I was working in the area.

We our wedding rehearsal dinner at Tuscany for about 30 people. We were delighted with the Marivel who worked with us and with Gina Stefani herself who helped to guide us. The food was delicious, the room was set up as we desired, and the service to our guests was outstanding. Thank you, Tuscany!

Saw this place when we passed it on the Untouchables tour and went back for dinner. Well worth the taxi ride there- lovely atmosphere at an al-fresco table with delicious food and relaxed friendly service

The academics and staff at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) frequent this place for lunch. I is located on a quiet street just south of the campus We went there for dinner with a group of twenty. They handled our large party, seated in a separate room, very efficiently. The vibe is a bit 1970s. The service was great and professional. The thinly-crusted pizza was a total success. I also appreciated the squid appetizer. On the other hand, many of the main dishes might be appealing to American Italians but not to me. I asked for a rare cook on my filet mignon, but had to eat a huge medium steak instead---excellent meat, but the medium cook made it dry and less lively. My neighbour had a yummy shiny white fish, but again, the plating and choices of veggies and sauces were rather American. My negroni cocktail eeked out a B- by UIC standards.

My extended family went to dinner. There wasn't a bad meal for anyone. The margarita pizza was good. The pork chop Milanese was very good. The Lobster ravioli special was very good. The pastas are home made and very fresh. The porfiteros are excellent. The waiter was very friendly and helpful.

Full disclosure I'm a very critical 'foodie'. Honestly the service was solid. Our waiter really tried considering one of our kids was being cranky. I was turned off by the canned olives on the salad. Also, I felt like my pasta had been pre-cooked and had been sitting in a warming tray- with seafood that was fair. I think years ago they put out high quality food now it seems to be a chain and not sure food quality is much more than Olive Garden at what I would call 4 star restaurant prices. In fairness my wife and kids were happy with their meal. I left disappointed.

We dined here for dinner early on a Friday. It's in Chicago's "little Italy," on Taylor St., and is one of the long-established restaurants on the block. We had a really enjoyable meal. Service was excellent -- friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the mix of patrons -- it was a real neighborhood feel, with teens and parents from a local high school, some long-time patrons of the restaurant, and people affiliated with the University of Illinois-Chicago. A huge menu of Italian classics -- antipasto, salads, pastas, and mains. Very easy to find something to like. I appreciated that the menu appealed to those who wanted fairly straightforward dishes but also had some dishes with twists. A caesar salad was great and kindly was split into two bowls. Pastas hit the spot -- an orecchiette with sausage, vegetables, and a broth was well-balanced, and a noodle with sun-dried tomatoes and lemon had a wonderful tang and a great texture. Prices were reasonable, too -- actually, very reasonable compared to some other establishments with similar food. Will definitely return.

Food was cooked to perfection. Service was decent. Great place to stop for a bite. I had squid, clams and pasta. All of them were the right consistency and temperature. Very happy with the visit.

Fantastic food and drink. Authentic Italian food. Close your eyes and you will think that you are in Italy. Tell them what you want to do, A quick dinner before the Blackhawks or Bulls game, and they will get you out fast so you can see the National anthem! Or a Slower multi-course dinner where Kenny, or other waiters will divide up and share as many dishes you want to within your group. Tell your waiter what type of dish you are looking for and he will help you. Or I say, "Kenny! what should I order today?" And Kenny does not disappoint! He is spot on! Thanks again Kenny for a great night out!

Awesome linguini vongole and focaccia bread. Went in for lunch did not have to wait long. Will definitely visit again.

Excellent authentic Italian dishes, homemade pasta made anyway you want. Helpful and very friendly staff. I highly recommend it. Try the veal ravioli. Bread with garlic dip is fresh and tasty.

We were vacationing in Chicago and picked this place because it was in little Italy. Everything was good until one of the waiter brought our food and spilled part of a dish on our friends head and down his back. I know accidents happen but the dish that spilled was still served and the manager would not comp any part of the bill. I spoke to the manager about the fact that there waiter had burnt our friends head and back but still he had no concern.

We found Tuscany on Taylor online when we were looking for a place to eat before attending an event at UIC. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived for our 4 pm reservation but was lively by 5pm and absolutely packed by the time we left at 5:30. OMG, the food was AMAZING! My wife and I ordered the filet and the salmon entrees and split them between us. The filet was so tender, it just melted in your mouth! We order salmon a lot. This may be the VERY BEST salmon we have ever had. Besides the wonderful bread, EVOO and parm, we had a Caesar salad and the pasta e fagioli soup. Everything was delicious!! Next time we are in the area, we are absolutely going back to Tuscany on Taylor! You have to go there, too!

We had a lovely dinner here with friends. The decor is pretty, tables are spaced for privacy, there is a very nice wine list, and the food is delicious! I had gnocchi, which was wonderful! That with a Rodney Strong cabernet -- yum!

Chicago visitors note! Here's a place we locals love. Looking across the filled-to-the-brim dining room, it is easy to tell that most everyone has been here before. And we come back because the food is great and service makes us feel welcome. The old Italian neighborhood along Taylor Street looks spiffier than ever. And, what's that? A Thai restaurant? On Taylor? Still Tuscany never disappoints. It is a bit noisy but that's just the sound of people having a good time. You'll likely labor over your menu selections. Don't worry, you really can't make a mistake.

This place exceeded my expectations. Since it has multiple locations, I was kind of expecting it to be a generic Italian restaurant only a step above Olive Garden. I was so wrong. This is an exceptional and unique dining experience. The atmosphere is great: predictable Tuscan-inspired decor, but still very cozy and charming. The service was top-notch: our waiter was ready with wine and food recommendations, and was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. The service was quick too, even though it was a very busy Sunday night. I went here with my husband and my parents. I sampled everyone's entrees, and all were equally delicious - how rare that EVERYONE's meal was above par! We started with a bottle of chianti along with our bread. Our server cracked a garlic clove on a plate, poured olive oil over it, and topped it off with fresh parmesan, which was for dipping our bread - outstanding. I ordered the veal-stuffed ravioli in four-cheese sauce, and I wasn't disappointed. My husband ordered a pasta that was on special, which was small crescent-shaped pasta pockets filled with cheese, peas, and artichokes in a vodka cream sauce. My mom ordered the chicken Monte Carlo, which I would probably order if I ever went back here again: chicken breast covered in prosciutto and fontina cheese in a chardonnay reduction. It was divine! Finally, my dad ordered a lamb t-bone that was on special that night, which was magnificent. All four entrees were original, tasty, hearty, and exceeded my expectations. All four of us also indulged in dessert (my parents were visiting from out of town, so it was a special occasion). All of the desserts were amazing, but I recommend the cannoli. Overall, this place was great. I would recommend it for a nice night out, a date, or even a special occasion. A top-notch Italian restaurant in Chicago's Little Italy neighborhood. A+

After a professional visit to UIC our host took us to Tuscany, where I have been several times over the years with good memories. This time did live up to the previous times. We were greeted and got ample time to select our menu item. My dish a 'today' special ravioli in creme sauce was good, the amount plentiful.Ended with expresso. The reason I do not give excellent is a matter of taste- the menu is more american-italian than Italian, but it is good. Quite busy at lunch, which to me is another good sign.

For those who have never been to Tuscany on Taylor, don't look to the Pilsen neighborhood, as you won't find Tuscany on Taylor in Pilsen. But as you start westbound on Taylor St., past Morgan St. in to Little Italy from University Village the very first restaurant that guards the gates to Little Italy is Tuscany on Taylor. One of several Phil Stefani Signature Restaurants, not only does Tuscany on Taylor have great ambiance, but they have a wonderful staff and the food is fantastic. Because the weather had improved (considering it was the 1st day of June), we decided to sit on the patio. Our waiter, Manuel, was right there and was very personable and helpful on menu choices. He was so personable, in fact, that we learned that he had actually started working at the Como Inn (now, that's a blast from the past). He brought warm bread, olive oil, parmesan cheese and an entire garlic bulb that he proceeded to crush for us. We probably could have eaten the bread like that all day. After checking out the menu and their specials menu, we made our decision. We ordered a bowl of pasta e fagioli and when it came, Manuel added some ground pepper. Absolutely creamy and delicious. For our entrees, we ordered off of the regular menu, as well as the special menu. From the special menu we ordered the short rib filled ravioli with a mushroom beef demi and shaved parmigiano cheese on top. Our second entree was the penne e capesante or scallops with penne pasta. Both dishes were well presented and were hot right from the kitchen, but more importantly they were superb. We left a bit of room for a dessert and after reviewing the dessert menu, we decided against the profiteroles and the crostata di cioccolat and chose a piece of cannoli cake. There is some parking on the street and there is a small lot with valet parking.

Had a train layover in Chicago giving us enough time to go out for dinner. Amtrak staff recommended we try Tuscany on Taylor. Best recommendation, ever! Short taxi ride from Union Station. Beautiful restaurant, staff was spot on, and the Italian food was as good if not better than the North End in Boston. Prices were also very reasonable. Loved it.

Best Italian food we have had in the six weeks we have been touring in the USA. Menu was extensive as was the wine list. We enjoyed our meal so much we came back again the next night. Service was spot on

Tuscany graciously offered a complimentary entree to veterans on Veterans Day and the meal was really outstanding. My wife and I shared a crab appetizer baked with cheese and served with toasted baguette. She had excellent halibut. I started to order a chicken dish and the waiter encouraged me to have the veal chop since it was comped. That turned out to be an delicious choice, perfectly prepared and including a lovely sauce and fries. We'll certainly be back.

Had dinner there last week. Great Italian restaurant. The table service was excellent. Our waiter was right Ion the ball with drinks and dinner selections/options. It was our first visit to the restaurant and we would definitely return. We were not rushed to have the table turned over. Had dinner reservations for 5:30 and we left shortly after 9:00. We sat and chatted with friends and ordered another round of drinks.

We really enjoyed the food and service at Tuscany on Taylor. It was just EXTREMELY LOUD. The restaurant was full and we sat near the front windows are were a bit too cold in February. Maybe a different table would have helped? Not sure as I wouldn't suggest sitting in the center of the room. MAYBE sit near the kitchen? I had gluten free pasta with seafood which was excellent. My husband had a wide noodle and sausage dish with cream sauce - he loved it. Fresh bread, olive oil, delicious food and great waiters. If I had earplugs, it would have gotten top rating. ;)

I was pleased with the service and underwhelmed by the food. Great bread and garlic dip but the entrees were less enjoyable.

Okay, previous reviews indicated noisy and we almost didn't go because of that and a couple of reviews that dinged the service. Yes it was noisy. Why, because lots of people were there, the place was packed by locals, not tourists. We were probably the only ones there venturing from the safety of Michigan Ave eateries to Little Italy. The service we felt was good and the wait staff was attentive to our needs. We had no issues with these concerns expressed by other reviewers. Our meals were well prepared, we had no issue with what we ordered, the preparations were good. We thought that the bruschetta was as good or better as any we had in our recent trip to Italy. The basil was very fresh giving a great start to our meal. The wine selection was reasonable for the locale. The price points seemed reasonable to us for Chicago. We would go back again. We would also like to explore some of the other Italian restaurants in little Italy on future trips to Chicago. I don't think that this part of Chicago gets its fair share of coverage and should be explored more by visitors.

We are looking for a venue for our son’s rehearsal dinner and will host it at Tuscany on Taylor. Great service and food.

the waitress had no patience in describing what foods were good to order. She had no respect and was beyond horrible. The food also sucked, definitely not as good as maggianos or villagos. I would highly not recommend this restaurant. They charge you so much and the pasta tastes like hard plastic

I have eaten here several times now and always try something different. I have been very happy with my dinner every time I have dined here. The restaurant is very loud but the service pace is slower how a nice restaurant should be. Service is good, is my point. Back to the food. If you spend lots of time in Chicago, you know by now there are too any food options. Tuscany is a neighborhood gem tucked away on Taylor St in Little Italy. You will be pleased with food and overall dining experience. It's one of my favorite places to eat in the city because I know it's always consistent.

Booked a reservation @ the last moment after visting Navy Pier & we're sure glad we did. Parking was paid valet. Got seat fairly quick since we still early @ 5:45. For apps we got grilled calamari & cozze guazetto, and both were superb. Entrees ordered were linguine w/claim, chicken estiva, seafood linguine, all superb. For dessert we ordered cheesecake & tiramisu, and those were great. Service by Roberto were also excelletn. Definitely worth the visit.

I sure wished I lived closer. The main dish was wonderful but since we were traveling, I couldn't take my unfinished portion home. I'd ordered the Penne E Capesante - the sea scallops were cooked perfectly, the penne was great and the sauce was heavenly. It broke my heart to have to leave some of it. We started with the roasted garlic, squeezed onto the plate by the waiter who mixed it with EVOO and Parmesan cheese to spread on amazing bread. Two garlic cloves-worth and I could happily made a meal of just that. We each had the Toscana salad (mixed greens, provolone, hearts of palm, chick peas, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, blue cheese vinaigrette) - YUM!! I was so full, I ended the meal with just a glass of Limoncello but hubby had the Cannoli Cake. (I did sneak a couple of bites - it was very good.)

Went here for a quick business lunch and was really impressed with the quality of the lunch menu. The pasta portions were generous and were delicious. They have a great spicy pepper and oil that they serve with good bread - a must try for those who like it hot! (I even put this on my pasta I liked it so much!) Service was prompt and attentive. Parking was a litle bit of a challenge but that's normal for the city.

We return to the place that is like our table at home. The warm hand shakes and fond greetings of Happy New Year and belated Merry Christmas abounded. The octopus salad was on point, and very tasty...... The duck breast was prepared very well. The tenderness was nearly like butter. The sauce was uhhhhhh! The desserts were good and they have added carrot cake and key lime pie and the whip cream and sauce created jollification in the month... Shalom

I went to college at UIC and first are at Tuscany in 1996. It is as good now as it was back then. The location can't be beat in Little Italy. Valet parking was $6 plus tip. They added an outdoor deck and the late May weather was perfect to sit outside and watch life in Little Italy go by. There were six of us and we split antipasto for two, bruschetta, and the prosciutto and mozzarella appetizer - they were all delicious. I ordered the shrimp scampi which had a slightly spicy red sauce. The shrimp were very large and tasty. My two young daughters split a margherita pizza. We skipped dessert and headed down Taylor to Mario's for Italian Ice. I highly recommend Tuscany.

Last minute decision to go to Tuscany one night when we were looking for an Italian restaurant. We had no expectations, but were very pleasantly surprised. Could have sat and eaten the roasted garlic bulb and bread alone. I asked the server to recommend a sauce to go with my ravioli and I told him what I like and he had the chef customize the sauce and it was perfect. I very much enjoyed the food as well as the service. Next time I'm in Chicago, I will be sure to go back!

I ate for the first time at Tuscany a number of years ago and have been many times in between. Nice atmosphere, wonderful food, have the Gnocchie and add the cut up Tuscan sausage. Its a Phil Stefani Restaurant.

We have gone to this place for several years now, since sonny boy lived in the neighborhood attending UIC. The food is always excellent Italian, the house wines are very good and the place is vibrant.

My husband & I went to Chicago for a romantic getaway in December. Unfortunately since we visited on a Monday thru Wednesday there really wasn't anything to do, but eat. And eat we did! A friend recommended Tuscany on Taylor & we both agree that it was the highlight of our trip. The fresh pasta is unmatched! We ordered a few different dishes to share so we could do a taste test. The ravioli alla pera with the marscapone cheese, pears, & nuts was absolutely amazing! We were fighting over who got to eat the last ravioli! The next time we are in Chicago... We will be there!!!

Love the ambiance and service, but the food is always the star, fresh, tasty and nicely presented. It's one of our favorites.

Went for dinner celebration of dropping son at college. Ordered calamari app which was very small and undercooked. Asked for additional bread as we had to wait nearly an hour for table and were starving, flagged down the waiter to ask again - he informed me how short staffed they were…we then waited and had to ask a third time when he came to table and asked if we needed anything!! I understand being short staffed these days, but we walked out at 10pm..restaurant clientele thinned greatly and we still experienced poor service and not amazing food quality for price paid.

This by far is one of my favorite restaurants. There are other Tuscany locations but this is the one to go to. The restaurant is charming. The wait staff is pleasant...some are fun to have and many have great singing voices. The food is wonderful! In all the times I have eaten here, everyone in my party enjoyed their meal. If you are visiting and want a great experience, then this is the place for you! You won't be disappointed!

We went to Tuscany last Friday before a Blackhawks and were very excited with our choice. The seating was right on time, the service was wonderful, and the food was great. We appreciated their ability to make sure we had everything in time and didn't feel rushed at all. The restaurant was packed, the valet was efficient. I will return again soon.

This is a good restaurant. I enjoyed the roasted garlic with eco and parmesan and fresh bread. My entree was fine, it just wasn't something I really enjoyed. The chocolate mousse cake was excellent.

I have been a long time diner at this restaurant. I have spent THOUSANDS HERE!! Brought a birthday balloon in. Phil Stephanie was at the next table, HE IGNORED ME. A table next to me had happy birthday sung to them...INSULTING!!! I live in Chicago and can certainly find a restaurant that will make me feel happy not leave me crying at the end of a lunch that I spent over $200 on! BYE BYE, PHIL! Never again!’too many other cool spots that are not a chain I can spend my money at,

from the moment we entered the restaurant with the hostess on the phone while checking us in, the entire evening was a disaster. our server acted like it was her first day on the job. she brought 3 of 4 drinks and 2 were not the way we ordered them and the 4th was brought out 10 minutes later. we ordered 4 different entrees and 2 appetizers and none were worth the prices we paid. the pizza margherita was limp and soggy, the lamb chops were thin and flavorless, the fish was not prepared well and the 2 different pastas were bland. this used to be a favorite, but, there is no need to ever go back with so many other choices for better food at less expensive prices.

Mashing up the garlic for the garlic bread on the table, in front of us - lovely, as was the service. Sitting on the terrace on a less than busy, beautiful night (rather than in what looked a bit barn-like inside) probably helped. We had a couple of wines each and a few tapas - plenty to fill us and consequently not costly. Much better than other run of the mill Italian places in Taylor street.

A hidden jewel on the west side of Chicago. Two business meals and two great experiences. Recommended by a client, the ambience is true Italian with great service. Had the veal special today with soup of the day which was wonderful. The service is very good and will remind you that your dining in a Chicago Italian restaurant. Will definitely dine here again.

Haven't had a bad meal here. It's a nice neighborhood place near Little Italy and the University of Illinois Chicago campus. The service is always great, and the food is wonderful. There are a lot of Italian restaurants to choose from, and we've tried different places but keep coming back to Tuscany. Our only complaint is that the inside of the restaurant is loud.

This was a private party of about 15 people. Their service was excellent. A restaurant owned by Phil Stefani. There served a variety of dishes that were perfect for a party our size. A wonderful selection of wine is available as well.

Three couples got the only table for six. The waiter-made the garlic paste for the breads which were excellent (both the paste and the breads!). Two of us ordered ravioli, two ordered spaghetti with seafood, one ordered chicken and sixth ordered just soup. Everybody enjoyed their dinner but not screaming outstanding. Good...very good...but not superb! Restaurant was full and exceptionally noisy.

We had a great graduation lunch. All of our pasta dishes were out of this world; the Italian bread was too good. The service was excellent, too. I wish I lived nearby so we can go again soon.

It's a chain but it's really good. Nothing beats the Pear Ravioli. Very attentive waiters. Fast service if you need it or take your time and spend a few hours. Everything is delicious.

Very good food, and wine list. don't miss the tiramisu. the staff is friendly. has it is own parking lot. which is very hard find in the city

Great service, great selection, and great food. We tried an appetizer special and two different pasta dishes. The roasted garlic and parmesan with bread was divine! The wine was good, and everything about the meal was pleasant. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or visit again. Simple and comfortable atmosphere, not too loud to have dinner conversation with a colleague.

Haven't been to Tuscany in a while. This restaurant is to noisy for me. I had the Eggplant Parmesan and it was way too cheesy. Had to yell at the person sitting across from me through our whole dinner. Looks like other people like it, but it's really not my favorite Italian Restaurant. There are many more better than this in Chicago.

Roberto was a fabulous waiter. Knowledgeable about the food, funny with antidotes and very very courteous! We will come again! Bravo Rorberto!!!!!

Although we were multiple times before and liked the place including food selection and service. It’s sad that hostess, instructed and supported by Restaurant Manager will not seat you despite having reservation. Another couple in our party park a bit further and were not on the door at the same time with us. We are not allowed to take a seat before all four of us were on the premise. The Manager was rude and unpleasant making other guests including some servers rolling eyes. We walked away.

The waitstaff were very good, very professional. I had the sea scallops in marinara, it was fine, not great. The scallops were perfectly cooked. The chicken with spinach was very good, well portioned.

The veal parm was very good- took half home. The salmon was excellent. Service very good. The house salad was large enough to share. A great spot on Taylor Street.

I have the RAVIOLACCI TOSCANI which was great. My wife had the SALSICCIA which I will order on my next visit. Very tasty and a large portion for the $$$.

Tuscany is not very expensive. And the amount is very much. The waiters are very nice. Need reservation in popular holidays (need to wait even if you reserved)

My last review, over two years ago, stated "consistently good" but now it's a little closer to average. The Caesar salad was a real disappointment. The pasta nothing special. The waiter would consistently abruptly interrupt our conversation without hesitation or request. Parking still conveniently available next door. Just doesn't seem to be the special restaurant it once was.

Like Italy in Chicago..we dined alfresco under wonderful large umbrellas. the service was first rate and the food as usual exceptional. Recommend the house salad, the antipasti, the linguini and clams, the pork chop and the scallops. Make this a stop when you are in Chicago. Mario is an exceptional server if you have the chance, ask for him. You won't be disappointed.

I had the Linguine con Scampi and it was faultless, well seasoned, came hot and the shrimp were done to perfection. No overcooked rubber shrimp here. Breads were wonderful and service quick and curious.

Wow. So delicious. I loved the salmon and artichoke dish. Beet salad was excellent too. There was a nice selection of both domestic and international wines. It was a treat to be able to dine outside in the mild temperatures of early July.

The food here is not terrible but it's not great either. The pasta dish was acceptable but no more. The veal chop was good. The wine? Ok. Everything was just ok.

It was a warm evening and we choose to eat outside. The table of 8 next to us was a bit noisy but that goes with the territory. We were started with a nice breadbasket, oil, freshly grated cheese and roasted garlic (yum). Unfortunately they did not have any gluten free bread for my wife. We found that surprising since smaller and less distinguished restaurants seem to carry it quite often. We ordered the prosciutto and melon and thought it was very good. Since visiting Italy and having Cinghiale (boar sauce), I order it whenever I see it. The fresh pasta and sauce were both excellent. I could eat that all night. My wife ordered the gluten free pasta that came with scallops. The scallops were good, but the pasta, and even I tried it, was just not every good. My wife has been around the gluten free rodeo for years. No GF free pasta will never quite taste like real pasta, but if you going to charge $23 for the dish, PLUS $2 for gluten free pasta, at least serve a good GF pasta that doesn’t taste cakey. Le Veneziane cost more, and is worth the extra $2. This was not. Anyways, Juan our server was good and took care of the issue and I appreciate that and will net out the review because of that. So if management is reading, GF bread and better pasta would bring my wife back. I would return with clients and enjoy the boar sauce again. Tips: Valet parking is $6, but you can find street metered parking for half that. Mario’s Italian ice down the block is a must in the summer time.

Tuscany's is our favorite when we want reliably excellent Italian food at a good price. The lobster linguine was delicious. Outdoor seating was very nice, and COVID measures evident, including using large part of their parking lot for tented seating.

I was in town for a conference and wanted to spend an evening out with my wife and another couple based on a recommendation of a friend. We called for a reservation and were able get one without much delay and upon arriving slightly early we were seated and the service began. Great service from multiple staff and the food was excellent all around the table! Of course we had to force down desert, both the regular and the chocolate dipped cannoli's, and we were not disappointed! The prices were good for the dinner hour and considering we were in Chicago.

Travelled to Chicago and our teenage daughter requested a chance to do dinner in Little Italy as we had such a great time in NYC in Little Italy for dinner. Booked this on a Sunday night for our anniversary based on reviews. Average -- no more. Beautiful Sunday night and the patio was empty. Had reserved a table, asked if we could be seated on the patio and host was extremely rude communicating he had no staff presently to wait on anyone seated on the patio but hoped to be able to open it in about 15 minutes. Asked him if we could grab a drink at the bar and sit out on the patio while waiting and was given a rude lecture that "I cannot provide you service if I don't have staff so no". Patio finally got open and we moved from the bar area outside with several others. Was not impressed by the food at all...have had much better Italian meals in other places. Waiter was good but ticked off our teens right away by referring to their virgin cocktails as "kiddie cocktails"...not a good start so was hoping the food would impress/change our opinion .. it didn't. Although my dish was quite tasty (pasta with speck), the other dishes ordered were unimpressive.

After a day on the west side of Chicago we were 4 colleagues that went for a rather early dinner. We had a modest meal, but the special I had (grilled shrimp and scallops) was excellent and the other were happy too. Service was good. I was very happy having visited there again.

If you are a visiting or live around the Chicago area, Tuscany's on Taylor is a really great Italian restaurant to go to with friends and family in Little Italy. The menu is really strong with variety and delicious offerings. The pasta and seafood offerings are really great. As a starter, go for the tasty beet salad. For my main course, I typically go with the Linguine con Scampi, which is really delicious. They have an excellent wine list by the glass or bottle. The Tiramisu is one of the best renditions of this classic Italian desserts that I have ever had. I have consistently had great meals here with very attentive service.

My daughter and I had a great lunch at Tuscany on a beautiful Chicago summer day. The special of the day was a fantastic seafood linguine dish. Combined with their excellent service and chocolate cannoli, really, what more can you ask for??

I used to love this place. The menu is limited and they use far too much garlic. What used to be a great, traditional Italian restaurant has lost its way in trying to become a nouveau, trendy joint. Big fail.

Came back again and I still agree with my first rating. This restaurant is a nice Italian restaurant in the middle of Little Italy and definitely one of my favorites. It is a good place for a date night, as it is a quieter, more intimate atmosphere. This time, I went with my boyfriend for an early dinner, which consisted of red wine and a few different appetizers. We got the Grilled Calamari appetizer and the Prosciutto & Mozzarella appetizer. Both were really tasty, but I thought the grilled calamari (which was a special) had too many chick peas in it. However, the prosciutto and mozzarella was delicious. It was so simple, but the meat was perfect and the buffalo mozzarella was the perfect texture. I can definitely see myself coming back again for dinner!

I'll cut right to the chase. I had the Seafood Spaghetti. Every time I think about it, I want to get on the train to Chicago, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. The dish was done to PERFECTION !!! The wait staff was excellent, atmosphere wonderful, and the cabbie didn't need an address, just wanted to know which location (Little Italy). If you haven't guessed by now I fell in love with Tuscany on Taylor. Almost forgot, we order what I would consider a house wine and it was good, a lot of house wines at other restaurants aren't.

We were one of only two tables in the Resturant - the food took awhile to come out but was very good. Wait staff was nice but I don’t think there were many Italians working there and the music was light 80’s rock. Not quite what I expected.

Had the zuppe di cozzie and the mussels were awesome. I had the spaghettini di mare with mussels, but they weren't anywhere near as good. Very good service

We liked it. Their gluten free pasta was good. Loved the prosciutto, buffalo mozzarella and rocket salad.

We had dinner at Tuscany on Taylor before a concert at the United Center. The location was perfect. We dropped our car off at the door and were soon seated inside. The restaurant was decorated nicely and had a great neighborhood feel. The service was excellent. We all ordered different items and they were all so fantastic, that we had to share. Great restaurant, reasonable prices and just a couple of minutes from the United Center.

Eating at Tuscany is like being in the middle of a party. The room is crowded and noisy, but it is because everyone is having a good time. The mean starts with outstanding foccacia and fresh bread, with olive oil, a head of crushed roasted garlic, and cheese for dipping. A major problem is not to eat too much bread before lunch or dinner. Minestrone is very good, and the pasta dishes (particularly the ravioli) are very reliable. A pizza oven was added several years ago (replacing a large rotisserie full of chickens), and this is a nice touch. Very friendly service -- we seem to get the same waiter almost every time we visit -- he has probably worked there for 20 years. Just a short distance from downtown, and worth a visit.

The spinach on the side was fantastic. My pasta was outstanding. I am vegetarian. I really enjoyed the Penne which was cooked to perfection with a very flavorful sauce. The hot peppers in oil were great! The Lavazza espresso to finish the meal outstanding! The wait staff were knowledgeable and always seemed to be around when you needed them. Just the perfect meal on a snowy day in Chicago!

The food was very good and the atmosphere was welcoming as we had a nice table by the window. However, we felt very rushed and in and out In little more than an hour. If not for that, I would have rated it a 4.

I have been to Tuscany three time in my life and they all pretty much stick to the same menus over the last 10 years. Why change things if it ain't broken? I had the dinner special Salmone which was cooked perfectly and accompanied by potatoes and veggies. My daughter ordered Macaroni, which was a little different twist of mac and cheese, that my daughter was expecting. Atmosphere is little uptight considering the location (close to UIC campus and housing). Regardless, we both enjoyed our food and would love to go back again.

had a great lunch with a client - ravioli was excellent - great dessert choices and coffee was worth the trip! Little on the high side for lunch - but you know this going in - great service and worth the drive to eat - another great restaurant for this famous family. 3 lunches, 3 ice teas, 2 desserts, 3 specialty coffees - $100 plus tax

Tuscany is on taylor street or the talian village of the chicago. This is a beautiful restaurent wth a wonderful and lovely staff and food to die for. The entire experience from the beginning to the end is amazing. The garlic bread is made in front of you and is so tasty that you might actually eat it till you are full :) The ambience of the restaurent is italian american with the decor that of italy and the TV showing american football. The staff is pleasing and helpful in deciding the best food to order, we had ravioli and it was simply superb.

I had a voucher for a meal as part of a package with Amtrax. Decided to use it as I had paid for it in the package. Bad decision. Tuscanys have a menu for this deal and was given it to view and select fine at this point. Wait. The meal arrived dead terrible waiter ground some stale cheese over it and poored some cheap oil over the salad, enjoy. No. The salad looked like it had come from a lawnmower and was crap. Main was reheated from when !!! tasted old food. I wished I had not tried to eat this mess, bad taste. And more, the next day I new it with trips to the toilet. Taxi fare was $20 to get there. Would have been better to eat where I was staying.

The Italian 'peanut butter', the Cabernet, the atmosphere.....all wonderful.

We stopped here while in Chicago, and taking the train to New Orleans. We had a very good meal, I had the Ravolini Pera, and hubby had the pizza. We enjoyed both, it was worth the trip over to Little Italy.

Always a good experience. Start off with roasted garlic spread over good bread. Dishes that are not on the menu but if you ask they will make them for your, pear ravioli and macaroni Cipriani. Veal is always consistent and the Chilean Sea Bass, when available is very good. Skip the dessert and take one block west walk on Taylor St. to Mario's Italian ice.

Had been to this restaurant 15 years ago and really liked it. So decided to take my daughters with me for my 60th Birthday celebration. Our food was average at best. Had to ask for butter for my bread. The waiter did the olive oil and parmesan cheese thing for the bread but that is so yesterday. Anyway in Chicago there are better places to go for a better experience.

The food here was better than I expected, the pasta dishes are really good, and the staff is very friendly. We went a little late so the restaurant wasn't very full, I would have liked to sit in the patio since it looked nicer than inside

The service is impeccable at Tuscany. Many of the waiters have worked at the resaurant for a long time. The decor is old world italian. The food is great. You cannot go wrong with the pizza or pasta. If you go early street parking is easy or you can park with the valet.

Recently visited this restaurant for our first time. Comfortable and relaxed. Delicious meal and nice wine menu. Bread with fresh roasted garlic, mashed with olive oil and Parmesan cheese right at your table. So good! We will certainly be back.

We went on recommendation by a friend and glad we did the itilain food is excellent here. I had short rib filled ravioli with brown butter sauce and it was off the charts great. One of us had the veil parm and said it was the best he has ever had. Would highly recommend this restaurant and I see me coming back whenever I am in town.

We went to Tuscany on Taylor the Friday after Thanksgiving. We did not have a reservation but we were quickly accommodated. Our wonderful server Mario provided outstanding customer service. We started with the fried calamari, some of the best any of us have ever had. We then moved on to the caprese salad and the toscana salads...both were excellent choices. The salads were so fresh and light and flavorful--we would definitely get both again. For our main entrée we tried the pizza margarita. Although it was good, the crust could have been crispier. The flavors were nice, but we have had better. We topped the meal off with homemade tiramisu. Delicious! We would definitely visit again. The ambience was comfortable, the service was excellent, and the overall experience was memorable. The food was a very, very good. We would not order the pizza again but everything else was outstanding. We are looking forward to trying other menu items on future visits. It is worth a repeat visit for sure.

Went in for an early dinner with a client and his family I was very impressed with the waiter and the friendly service all the staff looks over you and makes sure you are taken care of. Food was in a good portions and very fresh and delicious. Also enjoyed the open kitchen design.

Located on the Main Street in Little Italy, Tuscany offers a nice atmosphere, good service, and fresh excellent Italian cuisine, at a reasonable price. I had the penne pasta with sea scallops and both the pasta and scallops were cooked perfectly. In a city with so many great restaurants, this one is no exception!

I really can't find a bad thing to say about this place. You can start with a cocktail at the bar, The service is outstanding. I have eaten here now 5 or 6 times and everything I have tried has been the best.

We had a family dinner with 8 people and no one was happy with their meals ! Not the same restaurant as it used to be ! Food was expensive and no up to par , save your money and visit any restaurant except this one !! Very disappointing

The atmosphere is very nice. Make us feel like going to have dinner with friends in Italy. The waiter gave us good advice to choose the food in the menu. My personal favorite is pasta. Very tasty😊

The prices at Tuscany on Taylor are very reasonable AND the portions are more than adequate. I had to bring half of my meal home. The atmosphere was that of a high-end restaurant and the service the same. The food is outstanding! They have a very good chef there. You will want to Valet Park, so prepare for that.

We took our entire party of 14 to this place for my Daughters graduation from the Navy. No ONE and I mean no ONE in our party was disappointed with their service or food. Maybe that is because we paid for it, but here's the thing... No one knew we were paying for it until the check arrived. But still, no one had complaints. It was wonderful food, everything from antipasti to secondi. With all of us combined, it seemed like we had everything on the menu. The cocktails were even very good. They had us set up in the back room which was perfect for us. I will have to admit this was not my first choice for this dinner, but I am glad we got it. Make sure you get reservations in Chicago. Any where you go make them well in advance. I wish I could remember our waiters name. He was the only one for our party (14) and did a phenomenal job and should get his own shout out. He keep everyone's water full, didn't bug us to much, and tended to everything we needed. and for that, even though gratuity was included... I gave him more. I couldn't have asked for a better experience for my daughters graduation dinner. Thank You Tuscany.

I had the Pear Ravioli which is no longer on the menu, but they will make it for you. No better anywhere in Chicago! Mouthwatering. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Wander down Taylor Street after dinner and see the old neighborhood.

In the middle of lunch rush and all the helpers couldn’t be more helpful or pleasant. So glad we chose to meet there. Great food, people and parking in a great city!

5 for dinner with reservation, seated immediately on a Saturday night. Reasonable valet parking at the site. Waiter took drink order then a drinks were served appeared with roasted garlic cloves he squeezed out of the skin & mixed with olive oil & parmesan to go with a basket of crusty bread, excellent touch. Pasta & individual pizza for the kids, adults had a veal chop & pork shanks. Chop was grilled & vegetables substituted for the starch, pork shanks were served with polenta. Starter courses of carpaccio, crostini with mozzarella & toasted red pepper, fried calamari, & beet salads with hazelnuts & goat cheese began a very nice meal. Desserts were in order and wonderful. Everyone was pleased with the food & service.

Friendly service, efficient waiters, comfortable neighborhood "joint"...food is always reliable and often outstanding. Staff is always willing to customize requests. Can't beat it for value and I always treat it as one of my "go to" places as I know it will deliver.

Tuscany is always a sure thing. The food and service are impeccable. For a taste and the experience of the finest of Chicago's little Italy come here! Valet parking makes your visit effortless.

Used a Groupon on a Sunday night. Minestrone Soup - delicious - used the crusty bread to mop up every last drop Chicken MonteCarlo - huge portion of two chicken breasts covered w/fontina and proscuitto in a white wine sauce, sitting on top of a huge mound of spinach. I really enjoyed it, but took 1/2 of it home. Asparagus w/Brown Butter sauce - average Chicken w/Tomato and Fresh Mozzarella - very light and tasty - could have used more tomatoes Skipped dessert as we were too full, but it was a nice dinner. A little pricy without the Groupon so we might hold out for another type of discount before we go back again.

The staff here are quite the characters. Friendly and accommodating but with a little edge, you know? We were seated outside on Belmont Stakes Day. The manager(?) was handing out envelopes with a card that had a horse in the race. If your horse at least placed you got a little something off on your next visit. Kinda fun. Anyway, the outdoor seating is nice. The food is always above-average at Tuscany. The table service was very good. I had a Moretti Red beer that was stronger than usual beer and very tasty. This place has a great atmosphere. ALso, the location is very good- it's actually at the point where "Taylor St." as we think of it meets the edge of the UIC campus. It's only a minute off of I94. Great place for a pre-show diiner as we were doing there. We then went on to Thalia Hall for a concert.

Had a nice lunch on Friday Feb 2nd. I had calamari along with a Caprese Salad, my husband had a shrimp pasta dish and our friend had a choice from the "special" restaurant week menu. We all enjoyed our choices and had a very nice visit. Would recommend this restaurant, they also have valet parking for 6.00 which is good since parking is at a premium on Taylor. Waitstaff was great!

Spent the weekend in Chi Town. Needed a fine Italian restaurant for 10 family members for my wife's 70th birthday. Tuscany is what you would want and expect from an Italian restaurant in Chicago. Nice menu, moderate prices, great service , a real gem. Anyone visiting Chi Town looking for gray food, this is a must stop.

Great food and atmosphere. Very large portions! The fans and AC were turned on high, so it was a little cold for us.

I have eaten at Tuscany's a hand full of times over the years and have typically enjoyed the experience. The last time I ate there (about a year ago) it just wasn't up to it's usual par. I thought maybe they just had a bad night. Tonight- ugh. Upon entering, we were surprised to see that they were not very busy at all, especially considering it was a Friday night. None the less, with all sorts of tables open they wanted to stick us over by the wall. They did accommodate our request to be seated more out in the open. It took forever for the server to get us started. We then ordered wine and that took ages to bring as well. We told him we wanted separate checks (2 couples) and our friends then ordered an appetizer. Before we could order one, the server rushed off, never once asking us if we wanted anything. He did not come back until the other couple's appetizer was ready, so we just tried to order the soup on special but they were out of it. (Seriously, there was hardly anyone there, so we were a bit surprised) They typically have a roasted garlic and bread which they bring while you are waiting for your appetizer, but that wasn't ready- it took about 20 minutes before it finally appeared, and was brought well after the appetizer. Dinner came and 3 of the 4 of our dinners were very bland and had no flavor at all. Our friend almost always orders the same thing, which is typically spicy and she said it just tasted like tomatoes. My pasta was under cooked and had a poor flavor as well as the sauce being bland. Dinner alone had me thinking I wouldn't be rushing back. However, everyone has an off night, so we weren't too upset until it came time to pay. We had asked for separate checks as our bill was a good $25 dollars cheaper than our friends. First the server came over and asked for our credit cards, but he did not present a bill. Catching us off guard, my husband handed his to him and our friend gave him a $100 gift card. I mentioned I thought it was odd that they wanted payment before they gave us the bill and as he was walking away I said, we asked for separate checks and he nodded and mumble something about it being a new computer. He returned and gave us a printout. He had taken the $100 off the check total and put the balance on my husband's credit card! Then he sloughed off quickly. We were in shock that there had been no bill presented and even more so in how they had handled splitting the bill. No apologies. We will not be going back anytime soon.

In Tuscany you can feel as if you were in Italy. Most of the waiters speak Italian. The ambiance remind us an Italian "cantina", the food is tasty, prices reasonably for what they offer. Nice place far from downtown and "The Loop". It is a good chance to go to Little Italy in Chicago.
Perfecto
Visiting Chicago for the marathon, and needed a solild pre race meal. Upon recommendation of a local friend, made a reservation here. Not disappointed, incredible meal, prompt service, in fact so fast, that we were in and out, with an amazing salad, in a bit over an hour. Many around us were wearing Chicago Blackhawks jerseys having a pre-game meal. Very attentive waiters, and wait staff, sous chef brought out our meals. The kitchen is open and you feel almost like you are in with them. Wish we were local, because we would surely become regulars. It has a very homey feel, and was a great value for amazing food. Make sure you sample the roasted garlic on freshly served bread, WOW! I can still taste it.
