This place has been around for decades and food has devolved.... but still better than most around here.

Decent food great service but pricey

Food was decent but super pricey. Awesome service feels like you are eating at home. The TripAdvisor Menu should be updated to reflect the correct pricing kinda misleading not sure if it’s restaurant responsibility or TripAdvisor’s.

Very good Chinese in a quiet setting

By Michel_J_L |

Very good traditional Chinese food (mix of Cantonese and Szechuan cuisine). Outstanding Mu Shu Pork, Mongolian Beef, and General Tso's Chicken are among our favorites. Friendly staff. A comfortable neighborhood hangout with great style and no parking problem. This is the same team that used to run China Village in the same location. After the death of the owner and a lengthy and thorough remodeling, the team reopened under the new name, honoring the previous owner. A place we patronize in a regular basis.

Great Lunch...

I stopped in with a business associate for lunch at Uncle Lee’s. A first time visit but it won’t be my last...first we were greeted by Mr. Lee who warmly welcomed us to his establishment. Second the place looks freshly remodeled and very clean. Third, the food was great...the Hot and Sour soup was just right, my lunch combo was Mongolian Beef with Phad Thai and both were moist and hot....fourth, a nice quiet place away from the U-Village....I will go back!

Everything was delicious!!

We had chicken lettuce cups, sautéed string beans, and prawns with snow peas. Everything was delicious and wonderfully seasoned! The vegetables were fresh and crisp. Definitely going back

Great service, food not impressive

By Sandy N |

A friend and I went there for lunch. I was impressed with the friendly, attentive service. I ordered the garlic scallops, and was pretty disappointed. There were about five little scallops and a ton of broccoli and zuchini. I didn't taste any garlic. The friend I went with eats there often and really likes it, so maybe I just picked the wrong dish. The egg flower soup was very good.

even frozen dinner Chinese tastes better

We made the unfortunate choice to try China Village on our recent Seattle trip. We were staying in the Univ district, and were tired, so we were looking for a close spot to our B&B. No crowd on arrival on a Friday night (maybe a clue?) and seated quickly. Table was sticky, and bits of rice clung to the seating. Well, sometimes "dives" have great food, right? Nah...not this time. Seemed like only two people working the room, and it took forever to order. Ordered individual cashew chicken, beef lo mein, sweet/sour chicken, and brown rice. (steamed rice and brown rice are offered- not fried rice. Fried rice is an entree choice with a nine dollar price tag) Portions are large enough to have leftovers, but after eating them, we didn't want our leftovers! Cashew chicken had too many bits of dark meat, and very chewy, rubbery bits. My beef lo mein was tender but I had to add a lot of soy sauce for taste. The s/s chicken was OK but nothing special. Again, too much use of junk chicken bits. The brown rice was a clump and added nothing to the eating pleasure. Our bill was over 35 with tip and we really felt ripped off. They have combo dinners for 2 for $31, 3 for $47, and 4 for $63- but for that I suggest you take your family to a real restaurant and don't just take whatever jumped over the fence last. I'm glad some of the reviewers liked it. Hopefully they'll go there and leave the other restaurants to me...

Hidden treasure

My husband spotted Uncle Lee's restaurant, as we were driving to Seattle Childrens Hospital. You said Chinese sounds good, let's eat there. I had steamed vegetables with their appetizer chicken satay. Full of flavor! My husband ordered the coconut walnut prawns and pork fried rice. He could not talk about how good and flavorful that shrimp was all night. He said it was quite possibly the best he had tasted ever. If ever in the neighborhood, we highly recommend that you stop in and try it.

Better Chinese places exist close by, such as Chiang's gourmet on Lake City Way.

I thought this restaurant was very nice. Small, and intimate, and EXTREMELY fast service. Food was a little bit pricey, but the dinner for two was exceptional!

Excellent food and great service

This is a solid and reliable choice for Chinese food, with a little bit of Thai food thrown in. I’m a regular here for lunch. Uncle Lee or Amy are usually there to greet and serve. They are very attentive and really care about their food and service. The restaurant is immaculate and the prices very reasonable. The food is consistently good, fresh, flavorful and the Phad Thai is better than 95% of the Thai restaurants in the area. This restaurant seeks to please and I always leave satisfied.

Everything was excellent

Three of us had lunch at Uncle Lee's. The dining area is very comfortable and beautifully decorated. Very clean. Service was excellent. The food was excellent also. We ordered off the lunch menu and got plenty to eat. Prices were what you would expect for Seattle.
