Well, I'm ecstatic about this new place. Philadelphia has a wealth of great Chinese eateries, especially in... Chinatown. But there have only been a few totally vegetarian places. The regular restaurants typically have a small selection of vegetarian dishes, but they are often bland and uninteresting. But now, in the museum area, we have a huge menu of fabulous choices, all exquisitely made and presented. My head spun from choice angst. My wife and I started with Hot and Sour Soup followed by braised "Lion Head" (veggie meatball and Bok Choy) and crispy sesame seitan with broccoli. Our companions had miso soup, braised "pork Belly", chow mei fun Singapore-style noodles, and General Tso's tofu. We finished with wonderful sorbet and mango sago. Oh, will we be back! Unit Su Vege is steps away from the Barnes Museum at 20th and Hamilton.

It’s always a treat to return to a restaurant that does not disappoint. Consistency of flavors, ambience, and atmosphere no matter the time of day. Today it was one of the lunch specials. Miso soup, a main course which included rice and a crispy spring roll, and finished off with crunchy fortune cookie all for a terrific price. The staff are attentive and delightful. When we left the waitperson checked to make sure we did not leave our phone behind. Once again….YUMMMMMMMMMMM!

Man... this place. I seriously love this spot. Vegetarian / vegan heaven. Love that there is street parking right out front (if you get lucky) The food is amazing. You get little bites and small plates but that way you can try SO MUCH. Seriously, amazing vegan food. Cant go wrong with Unit. Some faves of this place- Dumplings- any of there dumplings are amazing! Bao buns- super fluffy & dense buns filled with vegan meat! 🥟 Seitan sesame chicken- wowwwww. Such a large portion with the most crispy seitan you can dream of with tons of sauce. 🍚 Scallion pancakes- I’ve had a nice amount of vegan scallion pancakes at various places- but they make it the BEST! There are no words for how amazing these are. Beautiful inside. Friendly staff. Meat free food. Delicious & large portions! Huge menu. What can go wrong? Typing this review makes me want to come here again very soon.... the dumplings are so good here.

After a day at the Rodin we walked over to Unit Su Vege, short walk, for dinner. Amazing Seitan and Tofu dishes, nice surprise. We started the meal with the Vegetarian Hot and Sour soup which had a heck of a kick but tasty. My partner ordered the Vegetarian Chicken Roll with Red Pepper Sauce and loved it. Very tasty combination of wheat and soy protein and a huge kick from the pepper. I ordered the General Tso's Seitan and enjoyed every bite. The Seitan was so fresh and breaded lightly cooked in a sweet and sour sauce with steamed broccoli. Amazing! Service was great and the atmosphere is relaxed. We will definitely return the next time we are in Philadelphia. Highly recommend the healthy plant based dishes.

On my way towards WholeFoods to purchase ingredients for veggie soup I noticed a grand opening banner to a new Chinese restaurant. The menu posted on the window was intriguing. Satisfied diners leaving the restaurant shared their tasty experience with me. The moment I entered I had already dismissed the idea of preparing my own soup. The ambience is warm and welcoming, soft earthen colors and architectural details enhance the open yet intimate space. Although several large groups were seated close by, the atmosphere was conducive for quiet, thoughtful conversation. Soft jazz played in the background. The vegetarian menu is extensive and creative. My request for no salt nor soy was not an issue. Service was attentive and precise. Yes, I will return soon and often.

We decided to order takeout from Unit Su Vege for dinner. We arrived around 7pm and was told the wait for takeout would be 10-15 minutes. We waited over 30 minutes. The restaurant wasn't even that busy but we noticed that most tables were waiting a while for their food too. We ordered Veg meat shumai, shanghai dumplings, bbq veg roast meat, mapo tofu, veggie fried rice, and a stir fried mixed vegetables. I believe they were all vegan. The best dishes by far were the veg roast meat and the shumai. Everything else you can get from most Chinese restaurants but the 2 dim sum dishes were really delicious. Prices were decent for being downtown. Wish the take out didn't take so long.

In the past few weeks I've eaten at this restaurant and also ordered takeout. The food was amazing! The staff is very friendly and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. I will definitely be back! It's one of my top five favorite restaurants!

Stopped by for lunch at this newly opened restaurant near the Art Museum. I had Broccoli with Garlic sauce. It was served with soup ( I ordered hot and sour) and a spring roll. Food and service were very good. Interior of the restaurant has a very nice decor. Menu is extensive. I will be back for lunch or dinner.
Vegetarian paradise in Philly
I was so happy to come across this vegetarian Chinese restaurant in downtown Philly (a 15 min walk from the Center). Exhaustive menu with lots of new things to try helped by friendly staff . I highly recommend going here.
