Thoughtfully prepared dishes delivered by friendly servers

By M H |

I ate seven meals here during two different two day stays at the hotel and was blown away by the friendliness of the serving staff as well as the thoughtfully prepared dishes. Other than the very good but overpriced breakfast brunch, My husband and I really have nothing but praise for this restaurant. We liked that we could order from the appetizers/first courses for our main dishes and that the main dishes included Asian as well as Latin choices. My favorite dish was the Shaking shrimp, an Asian influenced dish with chili paste. I like a little hot, but not a lot, and I was impressed that the chef got my request just right. The Drunken Noodles, and grilled salmon entrees were also excellent. My husband mostly stuck to the meat dishes and he enjoyed all of them. One night I had the scallops and papaya to start and the shrimp ceviche as a main. Delicious! Once we tried the waffles with caramel sauce for dessert we couldn't help ourselves and indulged a couple more times. This is a real hidden gem for dinner in the LAX maze of hotels and restaurants. I would come back and stay at the Hyatt because of this restaurant- it was that good.

great food

The salmon burger is absolutely delicious! Lightly spicy and full of flavor. The pozole is also fantastic! Great wait staff and nice atmosphere.

Great waitstaff, food ok, flavors and quality so-so

By PETER H |

Like the title says. Hate to not be able to rave more, but I write with the intent of constructive criticism. Decor fine, staff great, presentation fine as well. Only issue was flavors and I think they could do well by hiring someone to fine tune the quality of the ingredients (chicken breasts for example) and flavor profiles (some very bland, some too sweet) and better garnish. Also healthiness of choices.

Yummy

A place to get a taste of Los Angeles cuisines

By Pattithediva P |

The chefs here provide their own takes on the many cuisines of Los Angeles that people who are passing through the city to catch a flight or cruise don't usually have the time to sample. The results are delicious dishes of many ethnicities. You can do Asian, steak, fish, Japanese or California and it's all good, especially the fish. For dinner there's a nice room to enjoy a leisurely meal. Lunch or snacks are served in a food court-like area with take out food or tables and bar stools in the lounge. The service is good and as fast as you want it. The restaurant is in the Hyatt Regency at LAX so many customers are en route to somewhere or there on business.

A Nice Restaurnt in the Hyatt Regency next to LAX.

For an airport hotel restaurant, this is quit good. I didn't expect it, but we were pleasantly surprised. The food was very nice. We had the Ribeye and the New York Steak. Both were cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The salads were good and they had a good wine selection.

Quite likeable

Quick & friendly service, limited menu, good food, good portion size. The ambience is your regular hotel cafe kinds.

Very good!

This is in the LAX Hyatt Regency. Nice design and good athmosphere. Service was personable and friendly and the prices better than I expected. Food is very good and they have a pretty good choice of beer and wine. Highly recommended!!

One of the best in the LAX area

By FM6565 |

It is unusual to find a really good restaurant in an hotel. Unity LA is the exception. It is fairly quiet, it offers just a few options. But they are beyond good. The slow-cooked spare ribs were some of the best I ever had. Modern American cuisine at its best.

Dinner at Unity LA Restaurant

By Susan S |

Not many vegan options. Had the rice noodle dish that they did make vegan, but it was pretty greasy. Pricey for what it is. Unfortunately no real other eating options within walking distance of the hotel.

Fast!

By PortableWheels |

This is an airport hotel restaurant built to accommodate real travelers. They open at 5:30 am, the waiters are very available, broad buffet as well as a great menu. Brightly lit - white tables - is is extremely comfortable and welcoming. And efficient enough to have breakfast and get to the airport for a 7:00am flight.

Friendly staff, Nice drinks

Visited the bar while staying at another hotel without liquor license, was very pleasantly surprised with the kind staff and good cocktails and small bites.

Hyatt hotel restaurant at the airport

By Michael S |

The restaurant within the Hyatt had limited but very tasty options. the service was friendly and helpful. the prices were not unreasonable for a hotel venue.

Okay option if you have the time for a sit-down breakfast

By dahead |

It offered a buffet or menu option. We ordered the mushroom omlet, and huebos rancheros and everyone was satisfied with their meal. Server was polite and it was quiet enough to carry a conversation/meeting.

Fantastic coctails, good variety of beers and tasty food!

By Elisabeth W |

We went to this place twice during our stay and it was really nice. The food was really tasty, the coctails yummie, and one of the waiters, Dion, made our dinner really pleasant. He was interested, attentive and quite fun to talk to.

Quaint place to eat

By FirstClass001 |

I loved the decor and choice of place settings. Quaint restaurant nestled inside the Hyatt LAX. Nice place to get a good meal. Limited menu options but what was available was well thought. Excellent service. I had the drunken noodles but would have liked to have seen more vegetables. Overkill on the tofu.

Unity LA - Unique hotel dining

By Paul A |

My favorites are the Skuna Bay Salmon, the Steak Frites, and the Papaya Salad ( don't let the tile fool you ). The house burger is a no-brainer too!

Great steak!

By mcordry |

We weren't staying at the Hyatt, but at a hotel about 1 block away, and they recommended this restaurant. We had the Ribeye, and it was great. The drinks were spot on. And our server (I believe his name was Jose), was so attentive. The bad thing was there wasnt alot if people there, and I dint know why. It is as little pricey, but most hotel restaurants are.

Restaurant at the Hyatt Regency Lax

By newfoundlovefort |

Unity LA is the restaurant located in the Hyatt Regency at LAX. We stayed for four nights (which is probably a lot longer than the average guest stays). We had dinner twice and breakfast three times at the Unity. The breakfast buffet is great, but a bit pricey (USD 30 per person). The dinner menu is short but the quality of the food was good. The staff at the restaurant was exceptionally friendly. Someone even remembered us when we came back after a two week round trip (and she also remembered what we ordered the first time around!). The atmosphere is nice and they have funky tableware. I read that they offer 24/7 room service and saw some tasty looking burgers be delivered to rooms. Overall, if you are staying at the Hyatt for "airport reasons", the Unity is a good place for breakfast or dinner after arrival. If you are staying for more than one day, you will look for other options in the area (we walked approx. 1 km to the Marriott. Breakfast buffet there is USD 26 per person. They also have a Starbucks and a great steakhouse, so a lot more variety).

Breakfast

By localgirl334 |

We stayed at the Hyatt LAX in July. The location was great as it's very close to the airport. We had breakfast at Unity LA and we ordered the Avocado Toast. It was very delicious and nice portion as it came with potatoes. The restaurant offers a breakfast buffet as well. Service was excellent.

Passable breakfast, expensive

By finesilver |

Had breakfast with some colleagues this week at this hotel. We walked over from our hotel to eat at another place not our hotel. Food was good, passable, not great but not bad. Expensive, two eggs with potatoes and ham were $17 and $4 for iced tea. Service was good, perhaps a tad standoffish. Not sorry I went, I guess that there is a buffet too at $32 per person. We opted to order off the menu.

Excellent quality but small menu

By weiss782 |

Stayed at the Hyatt Regency and had dinner at this restaurant. Food was excellent and the service first rate. The menu, however, is somewhat limited.

Ok for a hotel restaurant

By hooamihere |

The menu is set up by district and the food coincides - East LA is mexican food - you get it. That was kind of cool. But that's about as original as the place gets. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great especially for the price!

Always Good

This little restaurant in the lobby just keeps amazing us. We cone thru here 3 times a year and absolutely never dissapointed. Breakfast items, lunch and friendly staff! Worth spending your dollars!

Great service during corporate dinner

By MH |

Didn't expect much from a restaurant at an hotel by the airport but it was actually a very good meal with great service.

Simple late evening take out

By DavidG897 |

The food choices were limited so we started with hearty soups being chicken noodle and minestrone. These were good but having to sit at uncleaned tables was not pleasant.

Mixed cuisine, good eats, great service

By TravelingSuz |

Our flight was delayed and the airport set us up at the Hyatt. We decided to try the restaurant out of convenience and the menu looked different and tasty. We weren't disappointed. The service was wonderful. We ordered the Thai tofu noodles and ribeye steak. The noodles were better than expected, very flavorful and a large portion. The ribeye was slightly tough but delicious with the accompaniment of sweet and sour sauce. Would recommend if you didn't feel like leaving the hotel.

Good Job on New Year's Day

By Edmundo_de_ABQ |

Met a friend during a long layover at LAX; this was one of a few open in the area due to it being a big holiday. We had buffalo chicken wings and a pepperoni pizza which were all very good. Service was pretty good as it was busy, but they did pretty well. Nice comfortable place to have bar food and wait for a flight

Weared menu but Fabulous staff !

By monacoguy1 |

I am sharing the room of my friend who is a flight attendant at the Los Angeles airport Hyatt Regency . I will not review the hotel here but it is a very nice totally refurbished hotel. I want to report about that Unity LA which is the restaurant of the hotel. Honestly the menu is disconcerting and unappetizing when you read the lust of weared dishes they felt obliged to create most probably to get some attention but certainly not the appreciation of the guests... for instance the chicken... difficullt to spoil normally... well they almost succeeded by serving two chicken breasts grilled on a bed of corn and something else which i never managed to identify... together with mexican mole.... very weared combination. So not really my cup of tea... i would have preferred a gond chicken roasted in the oven served with mashed potatoes ... But the most important thing that I want to say here is that the service which I received from the waitress on duty tonight was just outstanding and so so rare... She realized that I was not quite enjoying the dish and she asked about it. I said that this was not exactly what i expected but that it would be ok. She insisted and offered me to bring me something else. She said that she wanted me to be satisfied and happy when i would leave the table. I did not want to create a problem and although the food was so so i was eating it. She insisted to bring me another drink for free and also a good salad with green salad , pears, nuts, cheese and dried cranberries also for free. That lady went out of her way to please me and to give a good impression of the restaurant. I was shocked at all the efforts she made and her friendly behavior. That lady is a very valuable asset for any restaurant which would hire her. Her name is Paula Jean. Thank you so much Paula!

Expensive but good food.

By funnyfarmwest |

Unless your financed like Jeff Bezos leave the breakfast buffet to those with 7 figure incomes. $31.00 and the food was only so so. However I was there for lunch and dinner, the Scallops and Papaya was Excellent perfectly cooked scallops and tasty papaya. I ate lunch at the Unity cafe snack bar the Chicken wraps were tasty.

Food is good, service not so good

By Simon |

Staying at the Hyatt regency and checked out this place.. food was very good but waiter was lost and could not be found all night

fair at best

By MarkCharney |

For an all night place, this restaurant isn't awful. But it's not good. The ramen I ordered was tepid, really tepid. Took a LONG time to get the food, and it didn't taste fresh or innovative. The doughnuts are good, but they are outsourced. The folks who work there are nice and they mean well. But man, the food is one of those hotel places that is serviceable, but not worth driving anywhere for.

United we eat!

Great place for bfast via its buffet or a la carte. Did not do lunch or dinner but enjoyed it. Very friendly staff.

Good Breakfast Spotty Service

By BugattiBoi88 |

Unity LA is located inside of the Hyatt Regency Los Angeles International hotel. I ended up here by default because of course I was staying at the Hyatt! Being apart of the Hyatt membership they are currently offering for it's members to eat here while the regency club is in the renovation stage. Prior to visiting I didn't have a chance to actually preview the menu so I was a bit caught off guard by the odd selections that they had to offer for breakfast. The selection that you may find here will be based on whether you want the buffet style or just simple al la carte. After making my rounds and looking at the breakfast selection I quickly decided I would be ordering something fresh from the kitchen! Our server was interesting in the manner that he was a bit clueless on the menu. My friend and I asked questions because some of the descriptions on the food was odd and we were looking for something more traditional. For example the eggs benedict that they serve comes with Togarashi Tofu, Chinese Broccoli, Chive Hollandaise? Like huh? Random right? This didn't have to be the case because we were able to actually get the umm normal eggs benedict. At some point I was interested in the avocado toast but when I saw something about "braised dinosaur kale" it threw me for a loop. Keeping it safe I went ahead and ordered the HUEVOS RANCHEROS consisted of Crisp Corn Tortillas, Pinto Bean Ragu, Over Easy Cage Free Eggs, Jack Cheese, Pepper and Onions. Overall the breakfast itself was good the service was spotty and the server could've been way more attentive. We never even got a refill of our juices. I'm guessing they were more concerned with going home for the day. If I'm back at the Hyatt I may try them out again!

Adventurous menu; acceptable quality

By Alison S |

Had a late dinner here when spending the night b/4 an AM flight. The menu is short with an international flare. Service was prompt and food quite good.

Fantastic steak and service

By Smoltman |

I was down for a business meeting just outside of LA and I stayed in the hotel where this restaurant was. The service was fantastic and the menu had enough in it to peak my interest. I decided on the steak and it was absolutely fantastic!! Cooked to perfection and the Cab Sav I had with paired perfectly. For a hotel restaurant beside the airport I was very pleasantly surprised!

Mixed opinion

By DeavBBQ |

I stayed at the Hyatt and ate in the restaurants bar area one evening. Good atmosphere. Nice local draft selection. Food was average. Hotel pricing, but excellent menu selection when staying in is just easier.

disappointing experience

By globtrotteuse |

Professional but impersonal service, ridiculously expensive Awards for food quality, watery cocktail, in short a disappointing experience.

Great and interesting food.

We had dinner at Unity LA on our layover at LAX. The menu is an interesting Latin/Asian mix which combined to make rich and tasty meals. We had 2 different plates and dessert, all of which were flavorsome.

A Nice Place To Grab A Quick Meal Near LAX

By apatejr |

On my last night at the Hyatt LAX a few weeks ago, I decided to avoid the horrific LA traffic and grab dinner from the express restaurant in the hotel. I had the most delicious veggie chili I have ever tasted, and the serving was quite generous. It was so filling that I didn't have to order anything else. It was a great find the night before my flight home, and it allowed me to save some extra time for last-minute packing. I sure hope that veggie chili is on the menu at this restaurant on my next visit to LA.
