He was very attentive and even joined us in making my bachelorette card game more fun! We really appreciate his service!

Good Cocktails and Beautiful Nighttime Views of the Dallas Skyline

By volcanogirl |

We were staying in the hotel where this rooftop bar is located, so we came by for an after dinner drink. The inside of the bar is dark and moody; the outside patio area has a stunning view of downtown Dallas. There are couches, chairs, and tables set up, but you'd have to arrive very early to get a place to sit as it gets crowded. I had the Bunny Byer cocktail that consisted of Western Son grapefruit vodka, Watermelon Pucker, simply syrup, and lime juice served over ice. It was light and refreshing. The service was good. There are small bites available for purchase, but we didn't try any since we had already eaten. Drinks cost about $20 each which was a bit pricey for us, but you're paying for the beautiful view. If you enjoy rooftop bars, you would like this spot. We'd come back again the next time we stay at this hotel.

View can't be beat

We went up on Easter about 5pm. We were staying at the hotel for 2 nights. Thankfully, but disappointing, we had one expensive beer each and enjoyed the view for 30 minutes, but we were starved and went to eat. The bar closed at 8pm due to Easter. We knew we would watch the sunset and the lights come on the city the next night. To our disappointment and my tears, B/C we had booked this specific hotel for the city bar view, it was closed for repairs with NO sign or notice from the hotel employees. It would've been nice to know B/C we would have come for the lights on Easter Sunday.

Great views but that’s about it.

Really great views but bar very average. Inside is a sports bar, outside has heaters but nothing special. Drinks and food again just average.

Chardonnay on the roof!

Great interaction with personable staff. Brianna was the “right” first encounter after a long biz day. Rooftop lounge is awesome. I’ll be back as a hotel guest and customer

The best!

I live in both Dallas and New York and Upside/Canopy is always my go-to here in Dallas. Regardless of what day it is, Upside always has a fun vibe, and Shakina is super attentive and thoughtful - she really makes it feel like a custom, tailored experience when you arrive, and she's very proactive when it comes to making sure it's a great experience. Highly recommend!

Great restaurant with a marvelous rooftop view

If you wish to enjoy a nice night with friends, alone or with that special someone then Upside West Village is your place. A rooftop restaurant located in the Hilton Canopy Hotel, this little gem is great for cocktails, small shared plates of food and a beautiful scenic view of Downtown Dallas. Our server, Oscar, was very professional and detailed about the menu and drinks. He made sure to assist us in truly enjoying what Upsidd West Village had to offer. The Manager, Shakina, made sure to reserve a wonderful outside seating spot to truly capture the scene of Dallas. I recommend reservations if possible as this is a very popular place among Dallas. I suggest getting the Tina Tatare , meatballs and Flatbread pizza. For the ladies you must try the chocolate tasting of truffles. I will definitely come back here. Please note that due to popularity the service is slower than normal. I suggest coming at night if possible to enjoy the view while you wait. ENJOY!

Date night blast!

A tired hotel bar with a great view

We made a reservation on opentable and had a hard time to find the place, It is on top of the Hilton, the elevator was broken and we had to use the hotel elevators (who wants to do that in a pandemic). Even though there were plenty of tables outside in the shade, we were told that we couldn't have either and had to sit and eat lunch on a couch. The small bites menu was completely not congruent and would have resulted in a non-cohesive lunch. When we were asked to start a tab with a credit card, we had enough and left. This place lives on a captured audience- the hotel guests and even though the view was great of downtown Dallas, we are not likely to return.
