Always a blast and great food! The East side scene is fun and lively. All food great: po boys, shrimp and grits, fried chicken, shrimp cocktail. Cocktails great as well! Service was fab.

We were in Austin for our anniversary. While there we wanted to visit the Uptown Sports Club for lunch. My wife and I split a roast beef sandwich. It was awesome. We weren’t charged $4.00 for splitting the meal like we were at the Moonshine Grill. The food quality and service were exceptional, and a welcome departure from our experience the night before at the Iron Cactus. Our waiter was Colin (with one L). He provided fantastic and friendly service. We plan to go back in the future to try other dishes AND ask for Colin to serve us! Based on the images of the building prior to renovation, it’s obvious the owners realized they had a diamond in the rough. The restoration and upgrades are beautiful to see and experience. Whether you live in or are visiting Austin, do yourself a favor and enjoy a meal at the Uptown Sports Club!

This place is the BEST! Super-delish food -- we love the po' boys (the bread comes from New Orleans!), and gumbo, the wedge salad (decadent!) AND the amazing Banana Foster bread pudding. This place has both a great story AND a great menu, and you can count on excellent food and drinks. Their drink menu (alchoholic and non) is creative and fun. Extremely friendly service, too. They also serve breakfast, and have a late-night menu. Can't wait to go back!

My husband and I were visiting Austin for a few days so I made it a point to do some research. Uptown Sports Club was on my list because not only is it co-owned by one of the owners of Franklin Barbecue, it serves Louisiana inspired food. My husband is from New Orleans so I thought he might enjoy it. We trekked from our hotel to East Austin, which was quite a walk, by the way. We made it for Happy Hour and checked in with the hostess as I had made a reservation. We opted for some drinks from the HH menu. I had the Le Figue Rose and he opted for a dirty martini. He was disappointed that there was no catfish po'boy on the menu. I was ordering a patty melt from the HH menu so he opted to do the same. We saw on the menu that it said Texas Toast was used. But what we received looked more like prepackaged thinly sliced wheat bread. It was covered in house made potato chips and it was quite good but it wasn't the thick toast I was expecting. Service was pretty good. My husband even asked our server if there were places he'd recommend to go see some live music. He couldn't even tell us despite being a local. He said most of the bars and clubs don't do live music like they used to so he was the wrong person to ask. I guess so. For the most part, it was a fun treat to check out Uptown Sports Club, but we were kind of underwhelmed.

Randomly walked in for a bite, ended up being the highlight of our night. Ordered the Shrimp Po’boy, Uptown Burger, and chicken salad. 10/10. Food was outstanding, cooked perfectly. Atmosphere was warm, cozy and inviting. Special shout out to Rob behind the bar, who was super attentive and showed us a great time-everyone at the bar really. He rules. Will be back! Thanks for a great evening Uptown.
Don’t miss out on this gem!
Had learned of this restaurant on social media and wanted to stop while visiting my son at UT as I love Cajun and noticed their bread is delivered from New Orleans. They had only been open about 3 weeks. Service was quick and attentive, atmosphere is fun and cocktails were refreshing! Started with a cup of the gumbo — delicious — and followed up with the shrimp po’boy. I will definitely make this a stop anytime I visit Austin!
