Delicius and cheap food! We had a plate to share with rice, naan, salat and two kinds of chicken. It tasted great. Definitely worth a visit if you are around walk of fame

We discovered this gem on our visit to LA last year when we stayed on Hollywood Boulevard. We were surprised as the food was fresh, tasty and authentic with a lot of variety in vegetarian dishes & nans at a reasonable price. This time also we had food there and happy to see that the quality has improved and the sitting area has also improved. You can choose the vegetables on your Thali. We even ordered home delivery on Postmates from there. But if you go too late sometimes their nans get over. The Samosa chat was delicious. The quantity & quality both are good. Keep it up guys!

We went for quick lunch. Location is great near Chinese theatre. Place is well layed out..have a choice of tables or high stools. Good choice of Indian meals at great prices. Choose the non veg Good variety clean & fresh food.

Worst service and worst food. The taste is pathetic. The cashier guy is totally waste. Not even have basic manners!! Be careful. They can ask for Money using their restrooms. Keep change in your pockets.

I visited here around 9pm alone on a random whim because it smelt awesome and I was starving. It did not disappoint! The guy serving me (should have got his name to give him credit) was awesome! Really friendly and attentive and couldn't do enough to help me. I wasn't sure what to order so he offered me free samples which I thought was very nice. I opted for the chicken tikka masala which was really cheap $6.95 for that and basmati rice. Food was absolutely delicious and I'm really fussy, especially with curry! Quick, friendly service and unlimited soft drink refills for $1.50 which was awesome.

Amazing indian food. Best chicken tandoori outside India. You get here best beer, Kingfisher, i was feeling the same like in Mumbai :) strong recommended!!

Good Indian Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian food. This is near to Hollywood walk of fame. Food is authentic North Indian.

Great Indian and tasty food with good portion size. The meal deal/menu is a bit confusing for first timers so we just ordered what we wanted which probably worked out more expensive. Overall would recommend this place for a tasty Indian fix

Good to see an indian cuisine in hollywood! Had a fresh menu, but the food wasnt all that great. Quantity was not enough as well. Their naan rolls are a little misleading, ordered a paneer masala roll, and most of the filling was just lettuce, with just a little to none paneer. Not very impressed, but these guys have a lot of potential with their fresh menu, and being one of the only indian cuisines in hollywood. Hope to have a better experience next time. :)

Found it while walking. Food was delicious with a few vegetarian and vegan options. However service wasn't the best and they don't offer wifi.

Atrocious service! The facade of the restaurant looked appealing, so entered the place which had a warehouse like look. Picked up a vegetarian dish with rice, only to find it too salty to eat. I informed the people serving food about it - and the response I got was "It is like that only"! They had no courtesy to even say sorry, leave alone offering me another choice. I left the place leaving the full plate on the table, and once again while leaving, told them about the food. "Thank you Sir" was the response. Don't go near this place!

We ordered a bowl of basmati rice with two curries: chicken, paneer, potato, and gobi. All the curries looked delicious. The staff was very friendly and responded quickly to our inquiries. They served the naan and rice hot, but everything tasted great. The only downside was that the rice portion was quite small, so we had to order extra rice.

This little gem is in the heart of LA. It’s nothing fancy. Doesn’t serve alcohol. Very casual. A metal tray with two curries, rice and nan. Around £20 a person. Nice staff. If you’re a bit fed up of up market restaurants and want good value this is the place!

Amazing Indian dishes, with choice for vegetarians and vegans. Plentiful portions and the food itself is beautiful - we visited twice in our 4 day stint in LA!

We've had a lot of Indian food in our lives, though this is the first time we've had "fast food" Indian and the experience, overall, was not our favorite. We're used to ordering and sharing dishes at a sit-down Indian place so we were looking for guidance from the staff member on how to order here and he, we think, steered us in the wrong direction. My wife and I both ended up getting Masala Bowls (A single dish over rice). The Saag Paneer and Yellow Daal. It was too much of both. We easily could have shared a single "Bombay Plate" which comes with 2 entrees, rice and salad, and had plenty to eat. OR we could have just ordered sides of what we wanted. On top of which the food wasn't particularly good. The Saag Paneer (which is my litmus test at Indian places) was good enough although not anything to write home about. The Yellow Dal was way too salty and my wife didn't want to eat much of it as a result. I also had a vegetable samosa which was fine, but again nothing particularly special. The air conditioning doesn't work and it's been awfully warm here in L.A. so it wasn't particularly comfortable dining in there either. The staff member let me know it had been out since early summer. :/ If you're in a hurry and you're looking for Indian, this place might do the job but I wouldn't expect anything too memorable.

Eat in or take away, the food is very good, not too spicy (they will let you try a sample of curry before you order) , nice samosas and garlic naan bread that is absolutely delicious. You can buy a beer or cask wine if you eat in, good service and reasonable prices. One of the better establishments along the boulevard.

love this place , proper decent selection of indian food at a good price , I like the old school canteen style trays open until late and can get busy but worth it

Tasty Indian food at reasonable prices. The service was quick. The staff very good. Located conveniently on the Hollywood Blvd near the metro Ⓜ station. Will recommend this place definitely

Was walking by and decided to check out the restaurant. I saw cheap prices....and asked to taste something......whoa...after tasting, I ordered a number of combo plates to go (I'm a local)...All was delicious and soooo cheap !!!! I will totally go back there and am happy to recommend.

Had Indian food everywhere but this one is super delicious and fast food. The naan is soft and tasty. You can pick from the masala bowl to the Bombay plate.

I stumbled upon this great place and decided to give it a try. I had the vegetarian tray and it was wonderful. large portions at a very fair price. Plenty of room to eat right on the blvd. Lots of selections and the service was fantastic. They offer free samples. I can't wait to go back.

Excellent quality Indian food, with large selelection of curries, dahls, vegetables, crisp salads and refreshing sweet delights. Best Chicken curry and korma we've had since visiting LA.

we were walking along hollywood blvd looking for a place to eat & this place drew our interest. while it wasnt our first time to try indian food, but it just appeared interesting enough to come in. since my worry was that the food would be too spicy for my kids, they provided us with a couple of small cups with samples of their chicken tikka masala sauce. after tasting it and found it to be of the right spice level, we ordered 2 masala bowls & 1 chicken curry, just to be different. i must say, their sauces were very flavorful & had just the right spiciness for us to keep eating. my wife's only complaint was that the quantity of sauce poured over the rice was a bit too much for her. for me? however, it was just right. flavorful & cheap, we enjoyed eating here

This is a find along the Walk of Fame that is, well, less than glamorous. In fact, we first stumbled upon this restaurant as a last resort in looking for something to eat when we were a little lost. I'm glad we did. Now we make a point of going to this fast food Indian restaurant. Just walk in and place your order. There's nothing pretentious: metal stools and wooden tables with self-serve soft drinks. (You can also order beer or a lasse.) The server was very patient attentive and offered suggestions so we got the most for our money. Spinach tofu was fantastic, chicken tikka masala was great. Got a good portion of nan as well.

Situated in heart of Hollywood boulevard near Hollywood show case, and it is ideal for quick lunch or dinner. You can taste any sample from the menu and I was informed that they do not use nuts (ideal for people suffering from Nut allergy) The restaurant cum take away, is simple in décor and few chairs and tables (no fancy clothes) And no waiter service, Hence the low price. For 10 dollars we had any two meat dishes or vegetarian dishes and rice (Portion are big sometime enough for two) PS and try the fresh mango Lassi Yummmy

Urban Masala is a great idea on paper - a quick service Indian restaurant serving complete meals for a flat-fee cafeteria style. Put in to practice however the execution of this restaurant is terrible; the staff were inattentive and the food was unidentifiable. I waited at least 15 minutes before my order was taken, during which I painfully watched the two members of staff on duty clumsily fulfil the order of the single customer inline ahead of me, it seemed that the staff weren't listening to the customer, giving him several wrong items which then had to be changed. When they finally got around to serving me I opted for a Masala Plate which for around $9 lets gives you your choice of two curries or sides, plus rice, salad and a naan bread, I chose chicken tikka masala and beef curry, and to be fair I was served pretty quickly, although there were no naan breads ready, and was told they would bring me one over once ready, something which never actually manifested. $9 for all of this would actually have been pretty good value had the food not been so terrible. The beef curry was unlike any curry I have ever eaten in my life, made with what must be the lowest grade beef ever. It was like eating lumps of fat in a curry sauce. The chicken tikka masala was equally bad with gristly chicken cartilage. After eating about half the meal I abandoned it in fear of ruining my vacation in Hollywood with a bout of Delhi Belly. By the time I left the restaurant the line had grown considerably and was being serviced as slowly as ever. I felt sorry for those at the back of the line.

Thank you Praveen you are a really authentic sweet person your service and patience is unprecedented! Food is delicious we ate there twice and took out food for the third day! Portions are huge and price is dirt cheap! The best Indian food ever tasted anywhere! The butter chicken the vandaloo chicken the basmati rice the tandoori nan bread! Awesome awesome awesome!

So in LA and had done some research before hand, and really fancied some Indian food after been here a few days. This place had 4.5 rating on Trip Advisor, so went with that - no regrets! Not much to look at as its a buffet style behind counter, and old Indian style served in metal tray (Bombay Thali is what we ordered) plus Punjabi samosa. The food wow, very authentic Punjabi (we can vouch for), my favourite were the chana, and kids loved aloo gobi too. It came with boiled rice, pickles, salad and fresh naan. We also had Indian sweet after after, both Ras Malai and Gulab Jaman again excellent. Portion sizes excellent, we had 4 Thalis between 9 of us plus some extra naan and had left overs. Daughter had samosa chaat and again the blend was excellent, like being at an Indian wedding. Around $18 a person which found great value. A shout out to Don who was really great and looked after us, no end.

The food served at Urban Masala is excellent. We're from the UK - where Indian food is a big deal - and it lived up to the some of the better Indian food we have tasted, which has not been the case for many Indian restaurants we have visited in the US or Europe. There is a good amount of choice and the portions are just right. There is also a good choice of drinks. The staff were excellent - very friendly and helpful. The place itself might be basic, but it's perfectly fine. If you're in the area - which you probably will be if you're on holiday in LA - visit this place.

Very friendly staff and generous and delicious Indian food. You line up and order. They have a deal that is about $10 and it comes with two entrees, rice and naan. We tried a bunch of different things since we were three people. All of it was very tasty. Would absolutely recommend this place.

After discovering Urban Masala on TripAdvisor, I suggested that our family (who love Indian food) should try it out. We all very much enjoyed our meals! There was a great selection for both meat eaters and vegetarians. It’s very affordable at around 8 dollars for a main in a rice bowl and 11 dollars for a plate which includes two entrees, rice, naan and salad. We enjoyed it so much we went back a second day when looking for cheap eats! Highly recommended.

Best Indian ever , and we have traveled everywhere, the service was excellent and friendly Hollywoods best kept secret

Popped in for dinner tonight whilst staying nearby. I had the Bombay Plate which comes with 2 curries, rice and naan. The garlic naan was amazing and so soft. The rice was great. In terms of the curries, the korma was really good. Much more flavoursome than a lot of places go. The butter chicken/ chicken tikka masala was less good, probably because it didn't know what it was. A butter chicken and tikka masala are two very different things- one comes from Dheli, the other from Glasgow so there's a fairly big difference. This peculiar attempt at making one dish out of two curries really doesn't work!

Oasis in desert, just on Hollywood walk of fame, humble staff, very reasonable prices, quantity is more than sufficient in any dish, love their platter and bowl, vegetarian friendly, delicious combination of spices and aroma, visited twice, tea was awesome, very satisfying when you are looking for some home food.

Cute little spot. Great and I mean great chicken tikka masala and naan bread. They have this Indian beer that was so tasty. Fast and friendly. Must check out!!!!!

We are visiting LA for Spring Break and ended up here for a quick dinner. Everything was exceptional- the food was outstanding (we had Chicken Tikka Masala, Chana Masala, and Vindaloo), and service and prices were great. Highly recommend!

Food was great and the service too. They help with the selection and we even try an Indian beer. Haywards 500. Really good. Restomroom was clean.

Nice place. When you enter, on your left sorta like buffet you pick food they give you. $8.95 gave us two entrees with rice, naan, and salad or raita. I had paneer tikka masala and chana masala. Paneer tikka masala was delicious but had no paneer in it. Chana masala was ok. Naan was not good back was fully burnt. Had tv but could not really hear people were so loud. Would come back though but like no parking nearby.

You're in the heart of LA and its a place where getting something which actually fills up your belly (and in a decent place too) is definitely gonna burn a hole in your pocket. Forget any recommended places you saw on a guide book or any pamplets and sighboards. THIS is the place to eat. You have a huge variety of indian curries, gravy, sides, & generously served with basmati rice or naan. For an Indian restaurant in los angeles, this is super authentic & just so good. Fresh, yummy & worth every penny.

Very good quality/price relation. I completely recommend to take away. Very quick and tasty place in LA

We came here with teenage kids after a long road trip where we mainly ate burgers. This was a welcome relief and we enjoyed the casual nature and Bollywood movies on the screens. Highly recommended!

The food was good. Nothing amazing but they have solid good food that we enjoyed. The guy at the counter was very friendly and helpful.

Called in here last night on the way home from pub and rams game. Food comes served on a tray like your in the slammer. I had lamb curry and vindaloo. Both were very good as was all extras. Worth a trip and for price excellent value.

I was staying in the area for 6 days and visited on my first and last day. It certainly does have an urban feel and being Indian Sikh I can say the food was authentic! I ordered the thaal (tray) (approx £9) which included 2 dishes, rice and naan. I had saag paneer and lamb madras - superb and melt in the mouth! I'm from the uk and rarely come across good indian restaurants in usa so this was a find!

This was the first restaurant I went to when I got to the Blvd. The price is reasonable so I did not have high expectations. The food was just alright; enough fuel to burn when going down the Walk of Fame.

Well , one word fabulous . A kind of home made food , reasonable taste and good size and proportion . If you are around you can have a thali (platter) with veg or meat your choice but authentic Indian food . I also tried mango lassi which is also good in taste . Overall 16 usd for one platter food and one lassi . Only thing is they can improve on is sitting area

Excellent veg platter.I ordered palak paneer and daal makhani with rice , naan and salad. The portion was big and it was very tasty and satisfying. The platter costed 15 dollars. It is about an 8 minute walk from Hollywood highland metro.

What a great place to eat when on Hollywood Boulevard. The food was very tasty and it's served quickly. I vacation for five days in the area and ate here twice during that time. What a great way to save time and money. And it's licensed!

Urban masala has the best naans I have ever tasted in all of USA. Fresh tandoori garlic naans with Aloo Gobhi and chana..yum. Don't try their dal makhani, it sucks.

This restaurant is one, not the best restaurant in Hollywood and LA area... The food is fresh and tasteful... The staff is friendly and remember there customers... Every time I go there, they remember what I ordered before... The staff goes above and beyond to make your visit memberbal...

What a great surprise. I was looking for a fast take-out. This place was super friendly and super yummy while also being inexpensive for a Hollywood eatery. Their nan is fresh and homemade and the Chicken Tikka Masala was incredibly tasty and flavorful. Also, the place is sparkling clean, and not every joint on Hollywood Blvd. can say this! I will definitely be back when I'm in the hood next time!

After craving Indian food for a while we really enjoyed our Thalia here. It was huge. Enough for me and my husband to share with extra naan. Very tasty and worth a visit

Great food. Large portions. Very inexpensive. Staff was very friendly. My coworker and I ate there two nights in a row.

$10 for two mains, basmati rice, and two good size pieces of garlic naan. Chicken vindaloo and chicken curry, vindaloo was better. This was enough for two people. The mint chimichurri was fantastic, naan was very good. samosa was ok.

Tourists definitely travels in Hollywood area of Los Angeles and it is always a question what and where to eat. We decided to try Urban Masala and we never found any restaurant like this in whole of West Coast. First of all the quality of food is amazing and it comes at a very decent price. The quantity they give sometimes feels like sufficient for two. My recommendation specially to Indian tourists is that if they are looking for food in Hollywood there is no match just blindly go!

One of the locals told us about Urban Masala. It is 3-4 blocks from the center of action on Hollywood Blvd, but well worth the walk (only about 0.3 miles - it can be walked in 5-7 minutes or so depending on your pace). We had a party of seven, and six of us tried the Bombay Plate for $9.99 that came with 2 entrees, basmati rice, salad and nan. Most in our party tried the Chicken Korma, Chicken Curry and/or Chicken Tikka Masala. All three were quite good. Most in our party preferred the Korma and Masala but the curry was also a hit. The Urban Masala offers vegan dishes as well as a variety of other entrees. Be sure and ask for some tamarind sauce if you want some for your salad which is served without any dressing (Urban Masala - how about offering a light ginger or similar dressing?). One of our party ordered the Masala Bowl which was a medium sized tin with basmati rice and one entree. For smaller appetites or those ok with trying only one dish, this is an economical choice. This is a fast-serve, casual restaurant that offers delicious slow-cooked food at reasonable prices. If on Hollywood Blvd, it is a great option for those looking for something different that your typical fast food or chain restaurant.

Easy to located on the main road of Hollywood Blvd (or so called Hollywood Walk of Fame). From the Hollywood Highland Metro Station walking would take 10 mins. The food specially tandoori chicken was good (almost matched Indian taste, but still long way to go). Somehow I didn't liked the sweet (Gulab Jamun). Had a mango shake and it was good. Otherwise food taste was good but spices level were less.

You get a Good chicken ticka marsala for a low Price. Just Nice and the staff was friendly aswell. Clean and tidy

The food was really good. We shared a plate and there was more than enough food for both of us. We had chicken masala and the chicken tandoori. The naan is freshly baked. The staff was really friendly. Not bad for a random stop as we were killing time before heading over for our play.

This Indian was great. Food is very tasty and is excellent quality. We loved it so much we went back a second time. Lots of seating. You order at the counter and staff very friendly

Family had lunch there today, we had chicken Tikka, Chicken Korma , rice, salad, Garlic & plain Naan bread, good food and an honest serving at a reasonable price, very happy with service

I discovered this gem while walking Hollywood Blvd. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is outstanding. I loved it so much I visited twice during my 5 day trip to LA! I was pleased that they had Mango Lassi to drink. I choose the two entree plate - aloo gobi and saag paneer, comes with basmati rice, salad and naan bread. Delicious!

This is not your typical dine in restaurant. They got a good variety of dishes. We ordered off the menu not the plate. I would recommend to order the Bombay plate and choose your two entree, and then just add a few other dishes as the sides. There are good options for vegetarians also.

I frequently travel to LA and stay in the Hollywood area. Urban Masala has become a regular place for me to visit for lunch one of the days I'm in town. Everything I've had there tastes delicious so I'd recommend it to everyone, especially someone looking to try Indian cuisine.

This was a great find. Right there alongside the expensive tourist traps on the Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame, there is this Indian cafeteria-style restaurant. We first noticed several Indian families eating there, which is always a good sign for ethnic restaurants to be able to meet the standards of the people who know the food best. The food was great, and huge portions on a big tray for only $10. Thanks for a great meal!

The food quality and quantity was excellent and the low price was a bonus. I liked the Palak Paneer and channa masala. The naan was fresh and yum.

After returning from Fremont we wanted to visit Hollywood Walk of fame and when we reached we all werw hungary and Christmas parada was about to start and we found this restaurant. Very nice location we're able to watch the parade while taking the dinner. Surprised in this location was not much expensive and food quality was also good.

The quality of the meat was excellent. I had lamb curry and chicken tikka masala and chicken was good white meat and lamb was excellent no fat. Food not spicy my husband had vindaloo, it was mild but lovely taste and quality. Would definitely recommend. Great value

Nothing fancy but good value for take out Indian. Had tikka masala and korma - came with rice and naan bread for $10. Would go again.

Loved d food n service... Staff ws very friendly.. Informative n helpful too... Real indian taste n very economic... My kiddo loved d food so much v ate daily during r 3 day visit

If you want to have good simple fast Indian meal this place is good. Especially Channa and dhal are outstanding. Very normal Resturant.

If you are looking for a quick unpretentious meal while you are strolling Hollywood Blvd, but don't want fast food, this is the place! Clean, fun, just a bit exotic, and delicious! Indian fare from an authentic Indian family, with american attention to cleanliness and high quality food. It is served cafeteria style with nice booths and tables. Clean bathrooms.

We should have ordered the side as they gave us lots of quantity for the unflavorful channa masala and chicken gravy. The chicken was all broken into its pieces. If you like quantify more than quality this place is for you.the food was bland, premade and not flavorful The naan garlic and plain were light and tasty. We were glad to eventually share the food with a person who was open to trying i this as we hate wasting the food.

Yummy food, options for people who prefer no spice. Great customer service, even let me try a menu item before buying it to make sure it wasn’t too spicy for me.

To escape from junk food in the heart of Hollywood Boulevard we had a great Indian meal at this authentic and friendly place. Vegetarian, vegan or just a regular eaters have many choices. Served in canteen style trays, you may choose various dishes and also enjoy lassies, beer or wine together with your meal. Must visit if you want much more than a a hamburger or a pizza.

Go the lamb curry. So tasty. The saag paneer was good too, but the lamb was hands down my favourite. Chai tea was so different to what is served in cafes. Light, softly spiced and not sweet at all. Warming and delicious.

The best of Indian food we had out of 5 Indian meals we had in our almost 3 weeks journey between Las Vegas and LA trip. Such a soft naan bread … just melt away. Thank you so much

Good wholesome Indian food at convenient location. Veg and non veg both r good, plenty of options. Cherry on top fantastic raita and excellent tea. We went there 3-4times during our 3days stay in LA.

Was stuck in a meeting so tried Grubhub from Urban Masala. Had the combo plate with Chicken Tikka Masala and Kapoor. Combo came with garlic naan and salad. Food was still nice and warm which was great. Food had great flavor and not too spicy for a me. Next time I would like to go and try the food at the location.

The food is really good, the quantities are nice and prices are cheap. Service was nice too. I definitely recommend!

If you want ambiance, keep walking, because Urban Masala is definitely a no-frills establishment. But if you're in the mood for cheap, tasty Indian takeout, this is your place. We tried Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, a Chicken Tikka wrap with fresh naan made to order, and a mango lassi and were happy with everything, not to mention shocked by the low prices for our masala bowls (rice + entree) that could have served for two meals. No complaints here.

Tired and hungry we came in here not expecting much as the prices were so cheap for LA. Had the $9.99 meal of two curries, 2 pieces of naan, lots of rice and salad. The food was FANTASTIC, seriously good curry, naan and rice and the best I've had in a long time (and at home we live in an area of lots of Indian restaurants). I had chicken tikka masala, lamb curry (an extra $1.75), rice, naan and salad. The chicken tikka masala was creamy and you could taste the coconut. The lamb was lean and tender. Generous portions and really friendly staff. Take out or eat in at the wooden refectory style tables. Go, seriously, go - you won't be disappointed.

A ggod place to have good indian food, ambience is not so great, one can not sit & enjoy. But if you want take off food its very well organised & well made

The food was nothing special- served on a cafeteria style tray with a 'salad' without dressing, the tikka masala was flavorful but very gloppy. The curried lamb was a $1.75 up charge, and had all of three pieces of lamb.

If you are looking for a tasty n economic meal go to Urban Masala on Hollywood Blvd. You can have a BOWL consisting of rice with 1 topping of your choice (chicken or lamb gravy, spinach with cheese, cauliflower/potatoes) for under $8 or you could have a meal consisting of rice, naan, and 2 of the above choices for under $12. The wraps of naan, too, are tasty n filling for $8. The mango lassi is delicious. They also have beer and wine.

We were craving for Indian food after spending 6 days in LA, so we landed in Urban Masala after a studio tour. We ordered the Bombay Plate for 3 of us, which consisted of 2 entrees, some rice and half a naan. We upgraded 1 plate to have a dessert (gulab jamun) and 1 plate to have 3 entrees. The entrees we selected were Aloo Gobi, Chicken Tikka Masala, Egg curry and mixed veg. The naans were freshly made, super soft, went really well with the tasty chicken tikka masala. The veg sides - aloo gobi, mixed veg and egg curry were all quite tasty. Overall a great meal, definitely worth visiting again. As a side note, the bathroom condition was a little rundown, hopefully it gets renovated sometime in future.

I wanted to walk to H&H to eat lunch, but since it was a half mile away and I was on a break on my appointment today, UM was just located conveniently around the corner from there (next to Shiekh Shoes, so I had to check out the shoes). I got the Bombay plate which costs the same as most Indian AYCE places...with chicken tika masala and saag paneer, i was a happy camper for lunch along with the garlic naan and salad. I also checked in on the Y site and got free gulab, so it was a nice touch that filled me up as much as a lunch buffet. The cashier ran out of tape and it did take me a little while to get my receipt, but that wasn't too bad.

We stopped over here for a quick lunch, had some rice and chiken, samosa and salads, everything was ok but this place is canteen style, not expensive, more like a fast food place. Dont expect a good serving service here, overall for a quick bite is ok.

Good variety of assorted Indian dishes. Ordered some Chicken Tikka Masala and vegetables. Tasty but not outstanding. Salad was poor and basmati rice just OK. Minimalist decoration, fair price.

This is a great place to eat, for value, location, convenience and taste- for $5.95 or $8.95 you can get set servings of various meals, or you can order dishes you want separately as well. We had, for $5.95, a paneer tikka masala, with basmati rice, and a chicken tikka masala with the same rice, a small, fresh serve of diced peppers, onion and cucumber, a raita in other words, and we also ordered a naan bread, as extra- you get different types of bread, and yoghurt etc, all for a bit extra, but it's all good value. The serves are big and they taste good. The mango Lassi is also delicious. We went back another time and had the $8.95 option, we had the above plus a dahl; there's a good variety to choose from, all good Nortern Indian staples, and the place is clean and ambient, with high ceilings with exposed wooden beams and dark wood bench seating. It's counter service, you see the food you want, select it and take your plate to your table. There's cool clothing and show shops all around it as Hollywood Blvd ( the less frantic bit) slides past your window as you eat.

As a Vegetarian Liked all the vegetarian curris here. You have choice of curries. And naan was also soft and hot. Going to visit again if have the time

Just few blocks from the Hollywood walk of fame, in walking distance, is this fair Indian. It's a good cheap eatery with several main choices and you get along a naan and a salad for around 11 $ pp. Portions are fair, enough for an average person. The ambiance is not that good, should be improved, as well as the cleanliness, but if you're in the area, if you like Indian, want a quick bite and don't want to spend $$$$ for food that's the place.

Excellent Food. Very authentic flavor. Ideal for everyone at an extremely affordable price. Very courteous staff

excellent place close to hollywood boulevard. food is authentic Indian food and is pocket friendly. you can customise your own meal as per your choice.

Great Indian place. Good sized portions and sandwiches that fill you up. The staff were incredibly friendly as well.

Great food, quick delivery. The paneer is especially delicious. Make sure you request the vinegar soaked onions- they really elevate the taste of the food.

I have tried this place twice. First, I asked if they could split a plate half and half with two different entrees. Since it's a build as you go and the portion is the same as if you got just the one I was surprised to be charged an extra $1 for this. I tried several tables to sit at, but each table was sticky with previous guests' garbage still at a couple of the tables. I also noticed the servers do not wear gloves when serving up the food which is rather gross considering they are also ring the cash register, handling money, and sometimes wiping down behind the counter. As far as Indian food goes, it was acceptable but with so many other choices in LA for top notch, authentic Indian food, I suggest to just say no to this "tourist food" on the Blvd.

I enjoyed this restaurant completely! My first time trying the Indian food and I love it! The cashier was amazing, super friendly! I will see you soon! 😍🤘🏽

Interior of this restaurant isn't really comfortable or tempting but the meal looks great and tastes even better. We decided to order the plate, where you can choose two different main dishes and a few sides and it was enough for two people. I can recommend.

We weren't sure what to order but the guys were really nice and offered us samples so we knew we made the right choice once we ordered! The food was great and the price was low compared to other places around.

While in LA we were craving for Indian food and thats when we found this place. This was our best bet. The food was great..out of all the indian restaurants we tried in the US..one of the best was this. Their bowl system just worked out fine for us. The price was reasonable too. Loved their paneer tikka masala and dal. Definitely worth a visit.

Completely fresh food and if you choose just chicken and vegetables you will have a great bodybuilder meal.

The Bombay Plate has generous servings of rice and side dishes. Taste is authentic. A very good place for lunch in a good location.

Tried their Bombay Plate. Took Chicken Curry and Chicken Tikka Masala. Both tasted superb with chicken well-cooked and gravy with right mix of spices.

Great food, served fast and simple. One of the best meals we had in Hollywood. And where else would you eat a curry alongside Superman,Spider-Man and Zorro?!!

This is a nice fairly big takeaway located on the Hollywood boulevard, not too far from the Hollywood vine metro. The food is just ok, nothing too fancy but they have a quite a variety. The service was quite good!

Can't fault the choice for the price. Ordered the plate and they were VERY generous with their portion sizes. Food was delicious. Went on a Tuesday afternoon and it was continuously busy with very helpful and attentive staff. So handy for the Chinese Theater etc too.

This fast-food Indian place is just wonderful for either lunch or dinner. Right on the main drag so parking takes a little luck and searching. Great service and food. Something here for everyone if you love Indian food. A good drink selection too.

Again a Punjabi man behind the scene. In India the guest is forced to eat more even he has finished and its just to show him respect and care. Imagine this situation happening in this restaurant. Yes if you are in a group it will gona happen. Variety of food 9/10 taste 9/10 non veg 10/10 staff 10/10 , ambiance - the weakest thing in this restaurant. The wall colour is the biggest problem, they are just dull.

Urban Masala Fresh Indian is an appropriate name. Located in the heart of Hollywood. Not the highest end neighborhood. But worth going. Restaurant's decor has an industrial feel similar to Chipotle. Very clean inside. All items are ordered and served from the counter so you can see exactly what you get.The staff is very helpful when asked about dishes unfamiliar to me. The food is as good if not better than restaurants that charge twice the price. Generous portions. What a find! I will be back!

These folks have great tasting food but sometimes the flavour goes little over the board. I am guessing (and I can be completely wrong) that they probably add essence or flavours to make their food more savoury which doesn't ruins the things but slightly takes out the authenticity. Don't get me wrong, I liked the place and went their twice in a single day. I enjoyed the food because that was probably the best indian food you can get on that street. I will recommend going there if you are craving indian food or just want to get a tasty party started for your taste buds.

I eat here every time I visit my son in Hollywood. Very tasty, fresh and affordable. It's great for a quick bit, although you can sit down and have a proper meal. I usually get take away.

We were looking for our favorite Indian food on Hollywood Boulevard and came across this small buffet style place that didn't look particularly spectacular but decided to give it a try. So glad we did! Food quality, size and price was outstanding. They have several meat curry dishes including chicken vindaloo, chicken korma and lamb curry along with more vegetarian dishes plus several appetizers. We ordered a Bombay plate which allowed us to choose two main dishes to which was added basmati rice, naan bread and salad, all for $9.95. We added a veggie samosa but couldn't eat it there was so much food. We took the samosa with us and enjoyed it later. The best was the lamb curry- great flavor without too much spice. The vindaloo was just what it should be- rich and spicy. Staff were friendly and polite and place was clean. Value for money, probably the best Indian meal we've ever eaten. Will definitely go back when next in LA

Let's face it, this is a fast food Indian restaurant. They have a serving line where you place your order and pick it up to take to your table like in a cafeteria. The seating is counter spaces with metal stools. Overall clean and practical. The server was very attentive and made some suggestions on sides. There was a line out the door and it was after 7pm! The food was really good, especially for the price! The chicken tikka masala has won awards and we could see why. The vindaloo had a nice flavor as did the chicken curry and the chicken korma. The nan was really good and not burnt. The cucumber salad was fresh. You cannot beat the portion size for this price. They also serve beer.

Good indian food and nice atmosphere next to the walkmof fame. Seemed to be a popular place. Friendly staff.

LOVED this place!!! Soooo delicious. Great variety of both vegetarian and meats and everything was so tasty and rich.Although i got the 2 entree plate, i love that they have options for bowls or wraps. This is fantastic Indian food for an extremely reasonable/cheap price. I cant believe this place is on Hollywood Blvd! I HIGHLY Recommend Urban Masala!!! oh and i have tried Saag Paneer, Paneer Tika Masala, Chicken Korma, Baingan Bharta- all delicious!!!

The food was fresh and tasty and it was good value. You can definitely share a plate because they give you so much food! Loved the Mango Lassi and garlic Naan. Would definitely come here again when I am in the area!

Great place to grab a quick bite. The food is tasty and the staff is decent. Recommended if you are hankering for indian food.

It was my very first time when i tried indian food. I was so impressed. Very friendly and helpful stuff! I think, that we will go back again with friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We saw the reviews in Trip Advisor and decided to try this place. we were not disappointed. It is situated in the heart of Hollywood Blvd. Food was great and the service also nice. This is not cheap but not expensive worth the price. I will visit this place again. I have posted the menu card with prices for your reference. Please see the photos.

I found this place by luck after a day out exploring around Hollywood Blvd. My Girlfriend were walking back to out Accomodation while talking about what to have for dinner and I spotted this place across the road. I'm glad I did. We popped in a ordered a chicken tikka masala, Chicken Korma with Rice and Naan Brad. Not the best indian I've had but definitely not the worst. Food was good. Plenty of flavour. We didn't eat in just got a takeaway to bring home. If I had been staying for Longer I probably would have come back here.

Great choices for all types of Indian you want, including mild western Indian and proper spicy Indian! Very good prices, especially for Hollywood blvd. friendly staff, and free drink machine. Lots of space to eat.
Great Indian food after a 30 minute hike
My wife and I were in Hollywood celebrating her birthday at her daughter's over the weekend. On Monday, we were on our own and they suggested Urban Masala "which was only a 30 hike" from where they lived so we decided to take it on. Well, it was at least a 30 minute hike so we were tired and hungry - quite hungry. It's a cafeteria style place, smallish and intimate. We shared the two-entree order of Chicken Tikka Masala and Paneer with a pile of rice and a salad. The food was nicely spiced and very flavorful; we liked the Paneer better than the Trader Joe's boiler bag - and we like the TJ's Paneer a lot! We have been sharing entrees for many years now and, as usual, there was a perfect amount of everything for the two of us. The meal plus a bottle of water to get us back home cost only $13. Nothing fancy, but we'll probably go back on one of our Hollywood trips in the futre.
