Excellent salad with just grilled chcken in the wasteland that is Concourse C in DFW Where are all those eateries that supposedly are not in airports? Nothng to eat except this one.

Stopped in here for an little pre-dinner snack. It's across the street from Hotel Palomar where we were staying. Husband had steak tacos - delish. I had a little lettuce-wrapped shrimp taco - tasted fresh and flavorful. The service was great and restaurant/bathrooms were spotless! Felt like the manager and employees actually cared about doing a good job. Would definitely eat here again.

Prepared fresh. Served quickly. No the typical college area taco joint. No free chips and salsa was why I rate it 4 stars. At these prices I expected that courtesy. Will try competition next time.

Went here for brunch this morning with a girlfriend and thoroughly enjoyed the "Eggcellent Tacos." They were a fun way to have eggs and the patio was beautiful. We sat and enjoyed each other's company and, even as the place filled, we could still easily hear one another and the feeling of intimacy in our space was not ruined. Would recommend for any meal or occasion.

The latest Urban Taco on McKinney near the West Village in Dallas features a great patio scene, great drinks and extremely good food. This is NOT your average Tex-Mex dinner. The food is solid and the ambiance is terrific. If you valet park DO NOT forget to get your parking ticket validated or the cost of this meal will move from reasonable to OMG.

For good food, nice environment and fast service give this spot a try. A bit on the expensive side for taco's but they are tasty and the atmosphere worth it.

We ate here for lunch. They didn’t have a kids menu so we ordered two meals to share with my family of four. Portions are small but packed with flavor. We ordered 6 different tacos and 4 sides. Everything was delicious. I’m not sure what all the baked goods were that they brought to our table before the meal but they were fantastic. It was like dessert first! My daughter informed me she wants to return here for her birthday meal.

YES! in terminal C :) I was thrilled to find a great taco in the airport. With an hour layover in DFW, I went in search of something to hold me over... After looking all through this darn place, nothing seemed to appeal to my taste buds until way off in the corner of the food court, I found heaven in a tortilla. I wasn't starving but in no way wanted any airline food. When I ordered a single soft taco with Asada, the girl raised her eyebrows and said.. Are you sure only one? I smiled and said and nodded yes. She handed me my taco and said.. you will be back - see you later. I chuckled and sad down to eat. Wow - real carne asada served on a soft corn tortilla and a wedge of lime.... in the airport? FOR 3 BUCKS! I was shocked! And she was right! I had just enough time to try the chicken tinga - Another winner for 3 bucks. Seriously, a great taco with great flavor an freshness in an airport. You just wont believe it until you try it so remember this... Terminal C - food court. Keep looking! Its the best kept secret in that terminal :)

I took some out ot town clients and they loved it. They have a variety of tacos and other food. Will definitely come back and my clients said they would too.

I have been in this restaurant a couple of times to have a drink. The atmosphere is great. The menu list for drinks has one specially good for me "cojito" what I consider a delicious cocktail. They have a very nice terrace too. On Thursdays they use to have happy hour, so you can order the cocktails for a half price.

Thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant on a recent business trip to Dallas. The cocktails (I had the Paloma - a refreshing margarita like drink with tequila, lime and grapefruit juice) coupled with house made chips and guacamole were really incredible. For my main course, I enjoyed their taco combo meal, which allowed me to try a variety of tacos, each one better than the last. I enthusiastically recommend their AL PASTOR A LA TUMA taco...chile rubbed pork, roasted pineapple, salsa verde cruda, onions & cilantro in a fried manchego cheese shell with roasted habanero salsa and avocado. Definitely worth a trip if you're craving good Mexican food in Dallas.

Delicious Mango Swirl Margarita...yum! Friend went w/the Traditional on the rock and was very pleased. Food was good too, but we were enjoying the relaxing margaritas the most!

Must have = chicharron de queso.... get two!!!!

On a visit to Dallas my siblings took me here. My first impressions were great, granted it was great weather and we were seated on the patio. Their chairs are so comfortable I wanted to sit there and just drink margaritas all day. Service was great, tacos were some of the most delicious I've ever had, margaritas were good too. The price was so reasonable, like $7 for 2 tacos and beans and rice. We started with the sampler of salsas/dips, the creamy jalapeño guacamole was so good. I had 2 different chicken tacos, they make their own corn tortillas- you should go with corn over flour for sure! The beans were black beans which I loved, the rice their own concoction too- both were superb. Their margaritas are made from scratch and were perfection. Everything I ate was wonderful!

Seriously overpriced compared to competitors with far tastier tacos. Clean & spacious. Bland food, which may be why some return. I will not.

Every time I hit Dallas I must visit this spot! The sauces , the ceviche , the guacamole , the different chips are over the top ! Try the imaginative margaritas , different ingredients and beautiful presentation . I love the fish tacos here .

I went to the Uptown location on a Thursday night and waited 45 minutes for a table... so we knew it must be pretty good. Great $4 margaritas and free valet. Modern and airy feel, tasty food, and live music. The prices are quite reasonable considering the upscale feel and location. The people are beautiful and well-dressed. Its a great place to people watch. Try the creative variety of tacos!

Enjoyed the crowd and atmosphere. Waiter was slow and disinterested in doing his job. We really liked the variety of different salsas. I would recommend ordering a large variety...the jalapeno pesto and chipotle peanut were our faves.

Go to the location on McKinney rather than in Mockingbird station. The menu is a little better ( but both are good). Try the 3 mini tacos. You can choose from a wide range of tacos and the mini sampler is perfect. Their salsas are to die for. Everything on this menu is great really. Never had a bad meal here. It is casual dining which I like a lot.

Urban Taco has great tacos. Every time I have been the food has been delicious. You definitely need to try their green rice. It is my favorite! However, the service lately hasn't been very good. It has been pretty slow. Excellent lunch place!

I stop there every time I go back to dallas. Homemade cuisine and a very friendly atmosphere. They know how to make people comfortable

Delicious mexican food served up by friendly, efficient staff in chic surroundings. Go for a table on the terrace to get the best of both worlds inside and out. Baby friendly too with high chairs available.

Hotel recommended this place-I was skeptical at first since it's in a trendy shopping center, but it did not disappoint. Waiter recommended the chicken and steak tacos, both were outstanding but the chicken was my favorite. I also ordered some different salsas as well-delicious and the chips were home-made. I also got a mango frozen margarita which was very fresh and not super-sweet like some places make them. The only thing I would suggest the restaurant can do is make sure the waitstaff brings utensils and napkins before the main course arrives. I had to hunt some down on my own, but it wasn't that big of a deal since the waiter steered me correctly on the food and drinks. Will definitely be going back next time I am in the area.

We ate here on a whim and did not regret it! All the other places near by were hour or more wait and with hungry kids, we had to get food stat! Great servers and cool laid back atmosphere. Breakfast was AMAZING

Enjoyed all the food options. Guacamole was amazing. Jicama slaw and roasted corn were perfect sides to the taco trio. Modela Negro on tap

Fresh food and excellent service - liked the made to order options and delicious sides. The $3.50 chips with three "salsa" options is a great deal - the chips were refilled and the avocado lime salsa was amazing!

I had the lunch special which was a choice of any two tacos with rice. I chose the Chicken Tinga and the Poblano and Zuchini tacos. Both were good and flavorful, I preferred the Chicken Tinga over the other. I also received black beans along with my rice which I wasn't expecting. Both were good. Serving sizes were on the small size, so don't expect a lot of food but they satisfied. It's probably more what we should be eating anyway.

I absolutely love their breakfast tortas. A must for me every time I connect through dfw. Even if I don't connect through terminal C, where they are located, its always worth the extra walk to get there. Very tasty food.

Sunday brunch after church. Table outside. Cool on the patio even though air temp was 90. Breakfast tacos were excellent and taco plate was also great. Yucca chips also unexpectedly good. Service efficient and friendly. Last time there, they served a basked of Mexican pastries. This time, they said they had run out. Just as we were leaving, the waiter said they had arrived. I told him to not bother since we were leaving. Instead, he brought over a bag full of the fresh pastries and even cookies. We thought that was a very nice and unexpected treat. Definitely going back.

Great margaritas, dips and real nacho chips. Loved the yuca chips flavored with chile and lime brought to the table. Pick the taco trio and take advantage of the ability to choose your favorites - I would suggest the pork and fish and skip the chicken (it's shredded versus whole meat.) Pass on the mojitos and stick with the margaritas - MUCH better.

Delicious tacos and Mexican food. The avocado crema "salsa" should not be missed. Staff is very helpful and the price is right.

My group was staying at The Highland in Dallas which is within walking distance to Urban Taco. A friend and I went over on Thursday night because we were craving Mexican food and a frozen margarita. We were so delighted by the delicious authentic Mexican food and to discover that margaritas are half price on Thursdays. Do get the guacamole and chips - both are home-made and to die for. Service was great and prices were extremely reasonable.

I wanted a small lunch between flights and headed to the food court near my court. I was happy to see a local place next to McDonalds, Au Bon Pain, Annie's and Red Mango. I ordered a chicken taco - at $3, it's a pretty good deal, especially for airport mark ups. There was a yummy looking pic of crunchy corn tortilla tacos, so I ordered w/corn tortilla. But when I got it, it was flat and soft. I asked about it (I don't like soft corn tortillas). The counter guy said that they don't have crunch corn tortillas. They made me another w/flour. Points for making that change! The taco was really good. Great flavor. Two considerations: 1) the size was perfect for me, but if you're really hungry, one taco probably won't cut it. 2) If you're a chile wimp like me, it's a little on the hot side. My mouth is burning a bit, which is just at my tolerance level. But the chicken and taco as a whole was delicious. I wonder how the restaurant compares to the airport fare. Glad I gave it a try!

We ate outside with another couple, but the music was so loud we could not hear each other talk. We left after dinner and went to a wine bar down the street to talk. However, the food was good and our waiter (Sabastian) was great!

I love this place! A group of us went for lunch and everything we had was delicious. They have a wide variety of tacos so there is something for everyone. The service was great as well! This is the second time I've been there and I have been happy with my visit both times. I will definitely come back next time I'm in Dallas!

Very trendy little place. The food and the wait staff are very friendly and fast. We were in a hurry to hit a movie. The next time I'm here I will definitely get a margarita.

We ordered a variety of tacos...beef, chicken mole and seafood. Everyone was spot on...delicious. It is a small, crowded place, but comfortable. My only complaint was I thought it was expensive, considering the size of the tacos.

Oh my - a must have!!! On my many trips to Mexico I always wondered at the amazing smells coming from the street vendors carts but could not sample! Urban Taco does that for you! Start with an amazing trio of salsas - unusual choices such as Avacodo and pine nuts make this s delight! You won't go wrong with any of the taco choices although the pork is my personal favorite. The sides are the most unique choice you'll make! The cornis to die for, but then maybe the slaw? Try them all by ordering a platter and adding a couple of sides! But - save room for the most delightful churro and ice cream! Cocktails are served as well.

Recently saw the movie "Chef' and went to Urban Taco afterwards - great choice! Mango margarita - one of the best ever! Tacos are small for the price but delicious - should have had the Cuban sandwich instead - a lot more food for the money!

This is not a place to get Tex-Mex tacos. Although a bit pretentious, the tacos are flavorful. Try the peanut habanero salsa; nothing like it elsewhere.

If you are looking for "Howdy Pardner Tex Mex" this is NOT your place. I didn't see a refried bean in the place! FRESH ingredients with incredibly innovative ideas - like fried vegetable chips served with the guacamole. FANTASTIC guacamole. Super roasted tomato and red pepper salsa. As an appetizer - we tried a "queso" creation: a rolled crepe-like construct of melted Machengo cheese. Incredible. We had the tacos with barbacoa, chicken and steak. Sublime. The corn tortillas are to die for. They make them there - right on the spot. The steak quesadilla (unfortunately with flour tortilla) was excellent - with lots of small-cut veggies and plenty of steak. THEY USE HIGH QUALITY CHEESE….hmmm, do the most of you know what that even is???? AND DID I MENTION THE GUACAMOLE??? GO there.

Delicious food! Available for take-out as well. I always have their guacamole and chips..amazing. Very fresh! Shrimp tacos are awesome, as are the chicken tacos. Love this place! Great people too! Accidentally left my credit card there over night, completely forgot it! Called the next day, and they had it waiting for me. Always eat here when I'm in Dallas!

Everything is yummy here at this upscale taqueria -- and don't miss the jicama slaw. It's wonderfully crisp and fresh, and very good. I've been there (Mockingbird Station) twice -- once with friends and once with colleagues from work. Both times everyone was completely pleased with whatever food they ordered and the service. It's a perfect spot for lunch or dinner before heading upstairs to the Angelika Theater for an indie movie. Portions are somewhat small, so don't be put off by the 'three taco dinner,' it's just right for one person. Prices are not bad either -- not too upscale, not street prices. Sorta like Goldilocks....it's just right. I'm always looking for an excuse to return.

I ordered the 2 taco lunch special $8. It came with 2- 3"round corn tortillas. I had a choice of six different kinds of tacos, each unique. THIS IS NOT TACO BELL There was also great rice and some refried beans. I wish the tacos had been larger, but mine were great!

This is a nice step up from some of the taco bar kinds of restaurants. Table service, creative margaritas, funky feel. Really liked the mole chicken tacos. Shrimp tacos also very good.

Stopped at Urban Taco before a play at Fair Park with my daughter. Enjoyed eating on the patio. Their tacos are tapas size with many varieties to chose from. Liked that you could have three different tacos with two sides for $11 or so. Or you could select any number of tacos and any sides individually. Some kinds of chips were brought to the table free of charge more like homemade potato chips. We would have enjoyed complimentary chips and salsa like we do at our favorite Mexican restaurant in Grapevine. But this was a nice change. We also enjoyed the Happy Hour margarettas and militia. I would definitely return!

We went into Urban Taco hoping for great authentic Mexican food and weren't disappointed. Everything we ordered was tasty and NOT Tex-Mex (that's a good thing!). What we didn't expect was how delicious the churros were! They didn't offer dessert and the picture in the dessert menu didn't look that great but we tried it anyway. Heaven on a plate! Crispy on the outside and filled with carmel deliciousness on the inside and drizzled with warm chocolate. Go for this if nothing else!

Food was good. Place was small clean and nice location. Plenty of other shopping and dining around it.

It was nice to sit outside and enjoy the weather, and the mushroom tacos were fantastic. But if you want to drink wine you are out ofluck, because they only have poor house wines, so no good wines here. It would be great if they would add a wine list.

I was in town on business and was tired of the hotel food. An associate recommended Urban Taco. A group of 6 of us went and were seated right away. It was a Wednesday night. We sat outside since we had been cooped up in meetings all day. They served is Yucca chips to start off. Kind of like potato chips, not as greasy but still very good. I ordered the Avocado Ceviche Tower. It was humongous! Unfortunately, I could only finish half. The fish and vegetables were so fresh. It tasted delicious! I just wish it had been a little spicier, as I like hot & spicy food. I also tasted the cheese quesadilla. It had cheese inside and on top of the tortilla. It was also very good. I would recommend Urban Taco. Prices are reasonable, food is very good, service is quick and the atmosphere is nice. Make sure you go with an empty belly!

Urban Taco is not a typical Tex-Mex place - but as a Texan taco expert (self anointed after years and years of experience), I gotta tell you that the Chicken Tingo Tacos on corn tortillas are among the very best tacos you can have in Dallas. They are moist, rich with flavor and the corn tortillas are beyond good. Get the sides of poblano green rice and the corn and you, my friend have had a fantastic taco experience. The atmosphere here is friendly but the the place itself looks out on a parking lot in an upscale but kinda ugly, lets be truthful, Mockingbird Station location. The house margarita's are only $5 during happy hour and they are above average. But let me assure you that the Chicken Tinga tacos will be on your regular taco rotation once you've tried them!!

I was taken to Urban Taco by a local and I was definitely not disappointed. The tacos were very fresh and full; the side of lime cream corn was excellent and I highly recommend; the slaw was very good and we also enjoyed the different salsa options for our chips. The service was quick and efficient.

There are taco joints popping up around Dallas like weeds. This one is very good. We enjoyed a variety of tacos and the margaritas are very good - like fresh lime juice and not too sweet. My only complaint is that everything is al la carte - even the chips and salsa. A plate with 3 tacos was $10, plus $1 for each fish taco. That's pretty steep. Still, we would return and recommend if you want to go upscale from the usual neighborhood joint.

Really great Tacos. After walking on the katy trail, I walked back to mockingbird station near the dart train and stopped in. $12 plus tip for 3 tacos

I found this place through Trip Advisor. Really fun place. I had a Mango Agua Fresca, one Ahi Tuna Taco and one Potato Zucchini Taco and a side of Refried black beans. The agua fresca was amazingly good. I chose a corn tortilla for each of the tacos. The Tuna Taco reminded me of maguro sushi - delicious! and the Potato Zucchini Taco was a taste sensation! The refried black beans were a nice complement to the meal. And quick! It took only about five minutes from ordering to my food arriving. Waiter was quite friendly and on the ball. A really wonderful meal all the way around.

Can get pricy with the select your own tequlia but they have a great selection on hand. Drinks are good to many frozen drinks for my taste. Food is great, we have eaten here mutliple times actually prefer the Mckinney location between the 2, but both locations have great food and very good service.

OMG! The best frozen Margarita I've ever had... And the food is just amazing, you must come here!!!! La mejor frozen Margarita que he probado y la comida es increíble, tienen que venir.

Awesome Mexican food. Loved it. Casual and fun. We just landed in Dallas and came here by way of hotel concierge recommendation. It was awesome

First restaurant we visited in Dallas. The food and service was excellent. Cilantro and lime everywhere. Spices were very good. Taco's are excellent. Must do. First timers so chips for free.

We had dinner outside while waiting for our movie to start. They serve way more than tacos with a Spanish type of meal (Mexico City style) Great and unusual drinks. A very diversified menu. It's on a pedestrian mall so you can people watch while eating. Small tables for romance. Parking is free in the West Garage. I would definitely go back there again.

If your looking for a moderately priced solid taco place for a quick lunch this place is perfect. Taco plates come with 3 tacos and 2 sides. You have about 10+ tacos to choose from (they do up charge of you pick a seafood taco). Attentive and friendly staff. Easy to get in and out in under 30 minutes, and the quality of food is not compromised at all.

We were staying at a nearby hotel and this was recommended by our concierge. We ordered the chips and guacamole for an appetizer and it was very fresh and delicious. I had two tacos, they are a good size if you don't get any of the sides with them it's not too much. if you get more than that and sides it's a full meal. We tried to have the churros and ice cream but we were to full. They were delicious! The red sangria was very good. This looks like a place that has a lot of local families and not just a place for tourist.

I really enjoyed the food at Urban Taco. Both tacos I ordered were unique and very delicious. The chicken tortilla soup was excellent. I stopped in not expecting to be overwhelmed by the food but was so pleasantly surprised. If you're in the SMU area and need a nice meal, try the Urban Taco, you won't be disappointed.

My wife and I are from the south west and we have eaten about every kind of Mexican food there is, and we know the great, the mediocre, and the bad. This place is great. They do a really great job of coming up with their own nuances, and the different aftertaste you have when you eat this stuff is amazing. I’ve never had anything like it. Highly recommend to pretty much any type of eater who loves Mexican food or just loves really good food especially in Mockingbird Station it seems there’s a lot of mediocre food but this place is a stand out . 😀

This is a modern, Americanized Mexican food place with a bright, open, almost cafeteria-ish ambiance and good, fresh food. The company that owns this restaurant has several other restaurants and I don't think Urban Taco is the star of their lineup. However, the presentation of the food is great, the flavor combinations range from good to borderline great and I have no complaints about the service. If this review sounds a little average it's because I can't think of any WOW factors to focus on with regard to Urban Taco. It's good food at a decent price but lacking something, in my opinion, with regard to ambiance.

The place is not amazing but it's pk and the terrace is good enough. The food was relly nice. A kind of sleek texmex, tasty and fresh. The service is a bit quick and not super nice, but yet ok.

Loved their food! Amazing flavors, selection of salsas. The street tacos that Have corn shells with cheese on them and fried are sooo good. Yucca fries and the hibiscus water all good. Can't wait to try other menu items. Will definitely be a regular customer!

The look and feel of the restaurant was great. The service was average and the food was good but not great. The meat in the tacos al pastor and carnitas was a bit on the dry side. The tuna taco was better than the pork. The waitress or the kitchen botched our appetizer order. By the time we recieved our appetizer our dinner was already on the table. Chicken tinga empenadas..... even drier than the pork.

A great place to get your taco fix that has amazing drinks and great service! Do not forget to order the chips and salsa! I like the avocado salsa but the star of the show are the tortilla chips that are seasoned to perfection. Easy location near SMU

Wife and I had dinner after the movie. Service was quick and the food was delicious! Recommend not having the app due to the quickness of the food coming and I'm also glad we were hungry! Will return!

Hip fun layout - the food was pretty ho hum. Best of the bunch were the fish tacos.

As the wall says, I love tacos so much! But these tacos are something special. Steak marinated in Dos Equis? Pure heaven. I'll be dreaming about this place for a long time.

The waiters and bartenders at the Urban Taco may be the friendliest in Dallas! They brought out some fresh tortilla chips and a salsa sampler gratis when they found out it was our first visit. Btw, only the brave will try the habanero salsa!

My new favorite! I hate that I can't go when I'd like, (everyday), now that I'm back home. Sebastian Jesus, the GM and his entire crew made my visit to Dallas for week-long business well worth it. I must say one of my go-to favorites in my life is Mexican cuisine, my personal comfort food. The variety of flavors range region to region here in the US as in Mexico. After connecting with a friend whom I hadn't seen in 10 years on the day I arrived, I suggested we go to this little spot I researched days earlier. Also, having spent

This is a place to go just for decor ! The food is always good, and the locals like it, too. That's how you know a good restaurant. The locals come often.

This place had fresh ingredients in their dishes. Not your typical taco place...so much better. The service was supurb and patio was delightful.

On a recent visit to Dallas some family members took me to Urban Taco to grab some drinks and a quick bite. They have an awesome outdoor area and luckily we were able to get a table there. They have some great margarita combinations and I ordered the Ginger Jalapeno Margarita. it consists of ginger & lemongrass homemade infused tequila, muddled jalapenos & cilantro for a zing, gran gala, fresh lime juice, sour & agave nectar. WOW! It was simply delicious. We also ordered the Chips & Salsa Trio which came with a choice of 3 sauces. We got the Jalapeno Avacado, Rooster Pico, & Tomatillo Serrano. All of the sauces were good and each had a unique distinct flavor. I did not order any tacos but tried some from other people's plate. The tacos were very good and from what I heard it is their most popular item.

On my first night in Dallas, my son took me to Urban Taco. We both love Mexican food, and he raved about the place. We scored an outside table and it was a beautiful night. We ordered Margaritas - mine was the ginger jalapeño margarita, with muddled jalapeño peppers, fresh lime juice and crushed hot pepper on the rim of he glass. WOW!!! As long as you can take hot stuff, this is not to be missed. The flavors are extraordinary. Next came guacamole, prepared just as we like it, chunky style with tomato, cilantro, and great avacado flavor. Not that Mexican chain restaurant Exorcist-green puréed junk. For my entree, I chose the shrimp diablo with chorizo rice. The shrimp has a spicy seasoning and is served over a deep bed of chorizo rice, mixed with spiced onions, all topped with a layer of melted cheese. I would go back for the exact same dinner! Great service, great food, great ambiance.

Enjoyed a great lunch at reasonable prices with good service as well. Lots of choices & we really enjoyed the tacos. Interesting drink menu as well. Highly recommend it for a nice leisurely lunch or dinner or just enjoy a few drinks on the patio.

This place has great ambiance. Very modern. Airy. Outdoors. And in. Ordered a sandwich that was served really tasty with chips (potato chips) beans and rice. Not just ordinary Mexican rice. It had a spice. Same with the sandwich. All day happy hour on Thursday so my lunch time meal left me with a couple of great beers for five bucks! I would go back. They try hard and serve great, interesting Mexican food. Not the standard boring fare. Plus if it's a great Dallas day, sit outside. Kill a few "happy" hours. See if you have a job when you lose track of time and get back to work.

Every Friday night is Mexican night for us, and Urban Taco stands out for its fresh ingredients and unique offerings. The chips were extra thick (almost too thick) and the three salsas were excellent. Best was the avacado. Shrimp taco was one of the best I've ever experienced.

A great spot for some truly authentic Mexican food. I had two tacos: al pastor & chicken al carbon. Both had great flavors and didn't leave me feeling too full. The salsas are out of this world - I highly recommend the three salsa sampler. A great casual lunch and easy on the pocket as well! My only complaint is that the music is just too darn loud.

Had the chips and salsa which come with you choice of 3 salsas. I chose the peanut habanero, avocado lime creek, and the jalapeño avocado - they were all delicious and a lot to eat. I ordered 2 tacos as well - the al pastor al tuma and the pollo con mole. The al pastor lived up to its award winning status of top 10 best tacos in Dallas. I wish I would have ordered 2 of those. It blew my mind.

We found the food really good, and a little different. Very flavorful, well cooked, helpful waitress with good recommendations of food and drink. Helpful in getting us in and out in time for a film screening. I would definitely return - there are many selections I'd want to try. You can get a light snack or a full meal - really a nice little spot!

Urban Taco is a name I hear bandied about in taco discussions of Dallas. I decided to finally check it out. This Urban Taco location is located at Mockingbird Station with lots of high-end stores and cramped parking. There are quite a few parking structures in the area, but one must drive slowly to find a parking spot and avoid pedestrians. The interior is well-lit with the large windows and more mood-lighting farther back. A tiny bar in the back has the cash registers and where the staff congregate. In terms of service for take-out, the waiter was very nice. He was patient while taking my order, took care while packaging my food, and even opened the door for me while my hands were full. I think service was quite good for take-out. Onto the important part: food! I ordered take-out for one three taco combo and two other separate tacos. We tried the pollo con mole, the al pastor, the roast corn, and the chicken tinga. The pollo con mole and al pastor were deemed OK. The chicken tinga was very mild and and the queso fresco went well with the chicken. The roast corn taco was my favorite with the avocado-lime crema sauce complementing the roasted corn and fresh avocado well. The ingredients and the corn tortillas were clearly fresh and one of the better made tacos I have eaten. However, the size was almost minuscule. They were the smallest tacos I have ever seen. The tacos were tasty, but nowhere close to being worth the price in terms of size and quantity. For the sides, we tried the cebollitas or grilled green onions and the mango-jicama slaw. The grilling did not seem to do much for the green onions and we got about 4-5 half-stalks. The mango-jicama slaw was pretty good, but we only got a couple tablespoons worth to try. Enough to garnish the tacos, but no more. Overall, I enjoyed the food and its freshness, but the extremely small quantities made me unhappy about the price I paid. I will probably not come back again, but if you're in the area and dying for a taco close by, this is an option.

The food is wonderful and it's nice to see some creativity with something that could potentially be very boring (tacos, tex-mex food).

This place is a trendy well decorated restaurant located in Dallas' Uptown district. Parking around here can prove difficult but luckily we arrived early and parked behind the Patio Grill with permission since we were going there for drinks that night. I dined here with 7 people on Saturday evening around 6pm, 3 of them were children and they did provide a children's menu. There is a good selection of tequilas though I did not see my favorite Patron there. They infuse the tequilas with different flavors if you wish and have a wide variety of Margaritas. I had a pinapple maragrita at the servers recommendation and it was very good. The service here was excellent. We started off with a trio of guacamoles. There are several kinds of quac on the menu, each garnished with their own toppings, some were sweet, some more savory. The chips they serve with this are thick and prefect for guac. The also served some fresh made potato chips with a savory seasoning on this while we decided on menu choices. The entrees were great, my husband had the "any 3 tacos" they include interesting choices such as al pastor, tinga, ahi tuna. I had the Alambre de Bistec. I thought it would be a plate of steak on a bed of pablano green rice but it was served in a bowl already cut up with onions, mushrooms and cheese. It was greasier than expected but tasted phenomenal. It came with 4 flour tortillas to make tacos. The sides here are also great, the roasted corn con crema lime, the pablano rice, the jicama mango slaw all great. We were stuffed and had no room for dessert.

this was a deliscious experience and the staff was extremely friendly. I loved the hot salsas and the tacos. In Germany mexican restaurants are really bad, but this was outstandig gourmet food for a reasonable price! Thank you soo much! I would love to have that food again, but Dallas is too far away just for having lunch ... :-(

The food here is good but not worth the service. I asked for no pico on my tacos, and what do I get? Pico on my tacos. When I confronted the waitress about it she simply said that I hadn't expressed that so she couldn't redo my dish. She was just very mean in general.

I was in town on business. Finished for the day, I was walking around Mockingbird Station. Decided on an early dinner here. Awesome service. Chips are unique and delicious. Tacos were great, sides were amazing. Definitely give this place a try!!!!

Haute without being pretentious. Absolutley delicious. The antidote for Tex-Mex.

This restaurant I feel tries too hard and is just not good. The place does look amazing, but the food is too expensive and not worth it. The desserts are absolute carp. The dulce de leche tasted like it was store-bought and the churros are the worst I've ever had. This is really bad Mexican food. You're better off going to a taco stand, last time my friend and I almost paid 100 bucks for dinner for two. Not worth it. Their chips are nice, but that's about it!

We stopped in because we were originally going to another lunch location, but Urban Taco caught our eye. The place is nice and quaint and the wait staff was really friendly and helpful as it was our first time visiting the establishment. The food was brought out within a reasonable amount of time and it was hot and fresh. The salsas were good. We will definitely return to try out some new dishes.

In from out of town. Needed a late lunch. Urban Taco was the perfect choice. Three tacos and two sides meal was great. Amazing selection of tacos. Staff was very friendly to help decide in taco choices. Get the nachos; 10 types of salsas to choose from. The whole meal had amazing flavor, right amount of heat (if desired), tasted very fresh and authentic. Do yourself a favor and order the Roasted Corn con Lime Crema. I will return.

This place is apparently owned by Hook, Line and Sinker and brings a fresh take on tacos. The name would make you think it's a taqueria but it is a sit down restaurant. The tacos are small but so full of flavors. Pick three and two sides. It doesn't come with complementary chips but they do have five different salsas if you do order chips. All very fresh and flavorful. A good place to stop before hitting a movie at the Angelika.

We walk by this place a lot making our way to Rockfish a few doors down. I happened to see a Groupon for it and decided we should give it a try since it's always crowded when we pass by. We had a queso appetizer called Chicharron de Queso. It was thin, flat fried cheese rolled up like and ice cream cone and served with a couple salsas. The salsa verde was good. But, then again, just about anything with tomatillos is good in my view. We didn't care for the fried cheese though. I had the tortilla soup which was extremely salty. We also got the trio chips and salsa. The chips are a little thick for my likely. The salsas were decent. We both got margaritas which were very good, but also rather expensive (between $9-$12 a piece). We got a total of 5 tacos which were all decent but rather small for $3 or more each. The total bill came to over $80 before tip. I think we'll stick with Mariano's in the future when we need a Tex-Mex fix.

What a find! The regionaly Mexican offerings are simply delicious! My fave: the chicken tinga torta with rice. Desserts are also expertly made, with the churros some of the best in town.

At around noon today I had the roasted corn tacos at your airport location which I liked very much. My husband had two tacos with some meat. I don't know exactly what kind. I would ask him, but he is finally asleep after severe vomiting and diarrhea for the last five-six hours. All was fine for a while after we ate at your Dallas Airport Urban Taco and then boarded our plane. An hour into our three hour flight, he turned white and ran to the bathroom at the back of the plane. This continued for the rest of the flight, the ride to the car park, the hour and a half drive home, and continuing for a while after we got home. I haven't seen him this sick in 20 years. You may want to consider checking your food handling policies. I hope no one who came in on a flight today and grabbed a quick bite had a similar experience while trying to attend the super bowl.

My wife and I stopped in for our second visit before taking in a movie at the Angelika. I am a big fan of Mexican food, especially authentic Mexican cuisine. I had the three taco plate. The carnitas, pollo en mole and taco al pastor were awesome! But the real star of dinner was the salsas you can choose from here...we had the habanero peanut butter, guajillo and a salsa roja. They were first amazing and second very hot, especially the habanero. While you are there make sure you take in some of the authentic beverages such as the Chelada and Campechana. You will not be disappointed!

Elevated Mexican food (not your basic Tex Mex), every dish was tasty and unique, lots to choose from. Would recommend a visit.

Stopped by for breakfast and it was very good. Similar to the one in San Antonio in regards to quality and service. Overall, a good experience.

A nice variety of tasty options ranging from traditional to super healthy. The tortillas in their tacos are excellent-- maiz, harina and lechuga! The mango jicama slaw is delish. Life is short so be sure to start dinner with their churros -- they're amouthful of bliss!

As a mexican, I can only say that drinks and food there are just excellent and also good prices. Wide variety of Mezcal

I can't believe I had never eaten here. As a self-proclaimed authority on tacos, I can tell you that this place is the real deal! I mean, everything here was great. The service was excellent, the location is great, and the food was fabulous. You must go.

I had the pricey el pastor and Arrachera steak taco! They were very flavorful and tasty. Get the 3 taco special cause the waiter won't let u add in to ur order! Oh well, he didn't get a good tip from me! The seating next to the street was very elegant and urban! The atmosphere will keep you coming back everytime. Your are paying for the atmosphere and location, just remember that when you pay your tab!

Food was great! Service was excellent -servers were very knowledgeable about food & how it was prepared -ingredients, etc. Many different types of salsas & tacos. Prices VERY reasonable. In a very nice part of town. We took the Dart to Mockingbird station so didn’t have to park or walk very far either. I highly recommend Urban Taco for low price & good Mexican food while visiting Dallas,Tx.

We showed up at Urban Taco, with 3 small kids in tow, Having walked several blocks in 105 degree weather. The natives (children) were very restless and I found myself saying "why did I do this?" I set up the lunch date based on a friends review, I did not factor in small children, heat, and general tourist ignorance. This cafe is such a cool little spot, Great interior design, filled with slick Dallas-sites on their lunch break. But my fears slipped away as the staff did everything they could to make us feel welcome, even our little whiny ones. And the lunch crew did not even bat an eye at our arrival, i am not sure if they are extremely hospitable or just incredibly self-focused, but no one seemed to notice us. This allowed us to check out the menu: The food was exceptional and creative and surprisingly cheap! Start right away with the chips and salsa trio: you get to choose three gourmet salsas (such as avocado creme) to go with home fried chips. The rest of the menu was refreshingly creative. A lovely place with lovely service!

Very good upscale taqueria..love the choices of tortilla including the lettuce wraps..Theres like 9 differents sauces taht you can try i had the red snapper and trips tacos on lettuce ,,very fresh and tasty ,,,prices not bad at all......

This place is a cool, hip find with cutting-edge Mexican cuisine--no Tex Mex here. The owner in from Mexico City and he has brought the city's cosmopolitan dining to Texas. Get the sampler of guacamoles and prepare to be blown away. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Service is friendly and staff is knowledgeable.

A very cool and hip resturant in a fun shopping center. The food was excellent and be sure to check out their margarita menu!

Visited on Saturday Night at 6:30. Table on the patio but closer to the interior dining more like on the porch under a ceiling fan which made for a very comfortable evening. Free Valet which is nice for the area, there is a big $30 sign on the valet which makes you think “no way I’m parking here” but that’s just if you loose your valet ticket. Attendants were very friendly. Hostess just stared at us when we walked up, she is outside the main door probably to deter self- service seating on the patio, but a server was quick to chime in with a Hello and welcome. Service is slow, not in a bad way. You dine here for a nice leisurely meal. I ordered the Urban swirl $9 it was probably a 10oz frozen margarita with sangria and mango swirled in and they rim it with this savory mixture that I would serve with a bloody mary. Friend had modelo especial on draft ($4.50). They serve yuca chips when you arrive dusted with a chili mix of sorts. Very Tasty. Chips and salsa are ordered, not given, as with most tex-mex but I would not call this the usual tex-mex. More of a South American Latin fusion. We ordered the chip and salsa trio with jalapeno avocado (ok), avocado, lime crema (the best of the 3 light, fresh, yummy) and black bean and roasted corn pico (very good and fresh also). Queso- Panela Asado Masaryk- roasted panela cheese served with roasted red onions, oven dried tomatoes, roasted squash & grilled serranos - which is more of a friend cheese square, not a dip. (Tasty but made me think of cheese pizza) Ala carte tacos - Arrachera Steak- adobo marinated steak, avocado, roasted red onion, cilantro, avocado jalapeno salsa, garlic chips and Chicken al Carbon- garlic mojo grilled chicken, tomatillo Serrano salsa verde, manchego cheese & pico de gallo. Would highly recommend the Arrachera Steak but the Chicken al Carbon was fair, but you should of course try for yourself. Chicken was best with a salsa versus plain. The Jalapeno zuchinni salsa served on the side by request as a substitute was very good. The location is about the “scene” – basically seeing and being seen. Lots of beautiful people, muscle bound men, in tight t-shirts and flip flops and skinny blonds with tight jeans, high heels and lots o cleavage but that’s a real snapshot of the area. Total tab $44 which was 4 tacos, chips & salsa, queso dish , 2 beers and one margarita so I would put this at $$. Very filling and this was more than enough to keep me satisfied all night long. Service was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable and able to make recommendations and suggestions based on our specific requests. We will go back to try more.

Visited 1-6-19 after seeing a movie with my daughter. I had 2 pastors and a taco with fish or shrimp(I cant remember), my daughter had the zuchinni taco with corn. I had coleslaw too. the restaurant was pleasant the waiter also. I asked for chips and salsa because I was hungry but the tacos came very fast afterwards. did not drink, there are many restaurants nearby and everything was good.

We go every year now when we are in Dallas - the marg and salsa trio is a great way to start. The food is delicious, you can't go wrong. The atmosphere is amazing. Grab your girlfriends, start out at Urban Taco and do a little shopping. You too will be a regular.

Ordered chicken tacos with wacamole and churros for dessert. It was delicious. Excellent service great environment

The food is nothing special, kind of bland. The shrimp taco was better than rest of the food we tried (quesadillas). The service is good.

Liked the vibe in and out of the restaurant, service was good as well the food. highly recommended to enjoy a day of good weather

You can't beat the location for fun. It is located right in the middle of the nightlife action of McKinney Avenue. The patio is great on days where the temperatures are not 900 degrees like they are this time of year, but even now it could be tolerable. Their food is really good. I gave a less than excellent rating because the taco's are very small, the average person probably need three to have a complete meal. The three taco's I had (XX Barbacoa, Fish Taco, and Tinga ?? Chicken) were, I would say, between good and very good. However, I have to say that I would go back if only for the side dishes. The green rice is incredibly delicious, but the corn is simply indescribable. One of the best things I have eaten in a long time. Just amazing. The chips (they serve what I think are plantain chips?) are very thin and served in a really small bowl. They taste okay, not bad but not really anything to write home about. And they are not served with salsa, which was a disappointment. It is a departure from the standard corn tortilla chips and salsa, but some traditions are traditions for a reason: people love them! Being different just to be different is over rated. I would recommend this place to someone looking to try a new restuarant in Dallas, but not necessarily someone who is looking for the Best in Dallas.

My wife and I had dinner late on a Sunday. The location is small and was obvious it could be super crowded. We were their late, so lots of people were leaving, but if we were there an hour earlier, I am not sure there would have been a table. The food was excellent. There is a large selection of salsas, and you get a "flight" of three. We had a red, a green, and a corn/black-bean. All three were fresh and addictingly tasty. The corn chips were thick and crunchy, with some seasoning, just the way I prefer. Between my wife and I we had four different tacos and one variety of empanada. The carnitas tacos are probably one of the best I have had anywhere. The beer/beef empanada was right there with the taco, from a flavor and preparation perspective. Although this place is small and super casual, the food was amazing.

Our party of six enjoyed a variety of flavors from margaritas to tacos. With casual surroundings and attentive service, we enjoyed chips & choice of salsas, tacos, quesadillas, and Mexico City tortas, on bread or in a bowl with rice. Favorite sides were the poblano green rice and the roasted corn, very tasty. Be warned, margaritas are short but powerful!

I’ve had their catering before and it was awesome so I wanted to try the restaurant itself. The space is very small and cramped. It was a 30 minute wait on a Thurs night. Parking is a nightmare. Service was slow. They brought appetizers and entrees right on top of another. The tacos were tasty. The chips were fresh made and the salsas were fresh. But for some reason the food in the restaurant was not comparable to their catering...not sure how.

We came here after our movie at Angelika. We were seated right away but it took about 10 minutes before a waiter came to our table. We placed our drink orders and waited... and waited... and waited. Finally I went up to locate a manager whom I informed of our dilemma. All he could say is that they are very busy and was very unconcerned about the poor service. Needless to say we left... and I will never patronize this eatery no matter the location, although we used to frequent the one in San Antonio.

Our first night in Dallas walked across the street to the Urban Taco. It was bright, clean and offered a wide variety of specialty tacos as well as other Mexican food. Our waitress was all smiles treated us like a million dollars. Our food arrived quickly and displayed wonderfully. We sampled four different tacos—Ahi Tuna, red snapper, beef steak and vegetarian. We also had the jicama slaw and the black beans. For starters guacamole and chips, a must for the table.

I was a regular here until I moved away and I try to make it back any time I am in town Not tex mex by any means but good light fare. They have several tequila infusions to offer with some daring combinations such as mango habanero or cucumber jalapeño And their seasonal margaritas are inventive But I go for the clasica with whatever tasty top shelf tequila they have on tap. The ceviche tower is to die for The chips are made from real tortillas so they can handle any of the ceviche or guacamole combinations The chips&salsas are not free but they selection is varied and I always order more than just three for an appetizer. I love the avocado lime crema, rooster pico and the guajillo piquin best The tacos are taqueria style and you can get them in a lettuce wrap if you are watching your carb intake or filled up on the fried plantain chips they serve upon arrival. The roasted corn con crema is my favorite accompaniment to my tacos of choice, which are too many to mention. Great lively yet chill atmosphere with attentive but relaxed service. Awesome place to enjoy good Texas weather and fresh Mexican food. Try coming to one of their many sports and holiday parties throughout the year if you enjoy a good fiesta too!

It looks really good, smells really good, but no taste to speak of, save a salty finish. I was really disappointed, I had to add hot sauce to the existing salsa to get some flavor. I am not one to add salt or hot sauce before I take a few bites. The presentation was nice, smelled good, service was pleasant. Just not tasty.

The food here was amazing, and the presentation excellent! They had a good variety of vegetarian options, fresh ingredients, and great service.

I gave this place another chance after they screwed up and WOW did they disappoint! I brought my whole family here and they did not even flinch at the bait and switch happy hour rip off. They advertised "half priced margaritas" (see photo), but the bill showed up with full priced drinks. After calling out the accident after we paid the bill, they claimed that we should have known better (somehow). Basically they squirted some pepper juice into a margarita and claimed that exempted our drinks from the advertised price. They screwed me once on the same scam several months ago, and I totally agree that it is my fault for being so dumb to give them another chance, but I figured that maybe it was just a bad waitress last time. Clearly I was wrong and this is actually a calculated scam. I am fed up with this FALSE ADVERTISING and ripping off of tourists at Mockingbird Station. The shopping center is friendly and attracts good people. This restaurant is going to ruin the reputation that all of the good places have worked so hard to build the area into a fun safe place. STAY FAR AWAY.

Take everything you know about tacos and throw it out the window when you walk into this place. The menu, although somewhat limited, will take your pallet on an adventure. I suggest getting the combo, which allows you to pick three tacos of your choice to enjoy. The menu is chalked full of intriguing pairings that are worth a try. The service is prompt and friendly. They also have a great happy hour; 1/5 off margaritas.

We popped into Urban Taco before a movie at the Angelika. This is a cute little place with a neat interior and neon-colored decor. Our server was fast, friendly and quite funny. We told him we were in a time crunch and he did his best to get us in and out of there on time, which we greatly appreciated. The guacamole was delicious! It was served with a good hint of lime, which made it taste very fresh. The chips were fresh and well seasoned. We then tried a couple of the street tacos - one was grilled chicken and the other was fresh corn and they were both deliciousl Our other entree was the Cuban torta (sandwich) which was quite large and was served on fresh white bread with yucca fries and jicama slaw. We had a most enjoyable meal, fresh ingredients, really good service, and decent pricing. We will definitely be back!

My second time here. One of my favorite places to stop when I make it to Dallas. The taco sampler is my go to dish. A choice of several tacos and they are all good. Nice happy hour with good margaritas as well.

I came into Dallas for a two day business conference and found this little gem when I searched Trip Advisor for something close. My first trip I had tacos and the second trip I had Empanadas. Both were great choices as they were flavorful and fresh. Highly recommended, I’d come back again.

We have tried countless taco places in Dallas. Urban Taco, Diggs, and Taco Diner are our favorites. The al pastor is wonderful. The margaritas are delicious.

The best part has to be the chips. They are so unique from any other tortilla chip I have eaten before. I love the seasoning on them. Then you can order the salsa trio, and pick from their like 9 varieties of salsa. They are all delicious so you can't go wrong there. I got a taco too, which was good. I would definitely go back!!

Johnny and I went after a long plane ride back to Dallas. We NEEDED the tacos. They were always good. Busy. But the night was nice and I still need a tshirt. I will walk down from the house one day to it!

Small little casual restaurant with great Mexican food and salsas - not just your basics but lime cilantro crema and corn relish, etc. I had the street tacos and they were excellent - very fresh ingredients and unique options. Very reasonable prices and fast service.

They offer a variety of made to order tacos, served with tasty house salsas. We got warm house-made chips and salsa as we made our choices ... unlike what a previous reviewer said. Everything was delicious.

This resturant has the best guacamole I have ever eaten. They make there tacos in such a gormet style with original recipes. I am not sure that I am spellng guarcamole coreectly, but their's is so perctly tart and creamy with a hint of spice. The atmospehre is comfortable a great place to have lunch with a friend or even study. This location is at the Mockingbird station in Dallas TX.
So so
I was at Urban Taco on McKinney during the TX/OU game. My sister and I used the "Complimentary Valet Parking" but as soon as we got out of the car the guy charged us $5. I'm not sure if this is the restaurants fault, but I'm sure complimentary valet parking means free. We were meeting her friends there and apparently they kept getting moved around the whole restaurant because other parties who arrived later suddenly wanted the table my sister's friends were sitting at and so they were forced to move. The projector broke right as the game started. I definitely was not wowed by the food. $13 for a tasteless regular sized - nothing fancy about it - quesadilla. I forced my self to eat it because I did not want my money to go to waste. I ended up not finishing it. During the time we were there, the waiter was pretty attentive even though he had to deal with the drama table. The problem came when it was time for our checks. On our check he added a drink that neither my sister or I ordered so we asked him to fix it. When he came back the drink was still there but he had added something he had originally forgot. When my sister told him that she ordered the $5 HOUSE margarita, he just kept saying that is not what she ordered, but at the time she ordered he repeated it correctly. It may have been a difference of $3 but it's still the principal of it all. And for some reason, I guess a party of 5 is a large party in Dallas - so he added gratuity?! He had screwed up so bad on our friend's ticket that the manager ended up waiving their check. Maybe if we were there on a regular night the atmosphere and the service would be different, but I'm sure the food would still be the same. Way overpriced for regular mexican food. The only difference was the fancy plate.
