Really Good

By C and L L |

Staying at Hyatt and stopped in for dinner and food was very good and price reasonable. Nicole our waitress did great job.

Great Pre-theater Stop

By Jeff P |

Within walking distance of the Paramount Theater, it's convenient & pleasant. We shared some small plates that were nicely presented as well as delicious. Modern decor and great service too!

Great bar -- but you pay hotel prices

By Yosef S |

If you're looking for top shelf liquor and a modern chic vibe, then this is a great place to start or end an evening. It's well lit and more spacious than it looks from the outside. Isn't a "must see" Seattle spot? Probably not, but it's a really nice bar!

Disappointing

By 898frank |

Would have expected a much better quality. Way overpriced for what you get. It ain't bad but it ain't good eithe and in a Hyatt you expect a must better price/performance. Staff seem to be trained to give default answers.

Morning Breakfast

By Aaron F |

Connected to hotel, we went for our morning breakfast. The seating is nice with the glass on the street. Standard breakfast fare for us, eggs on one side, biscuits and gravy on the other. We ate the breakfast and service was friendly and efficient. Standard 20% service charge applied.

good hotel restaurant

By steve m |

Urbane is the restaurant in the Hyatt Olive 8 hotel located in downtown Seattle. Fairly casual restaurant and bar. I had a nice dinner and a couple of glasses of wine. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was tasty, prepared well and delivered promptly. Wait staff was attentive. Menu was mainly American food with a slight focus on regionally-prepared or sourced food and wine. Prices were moderate.

Excellent hotel brunch

By ReluctantGeek |

This place is in the lobby of the Hyatt at olive and 8th, and to look at is your fairly typical hotel restaurant. The breakfast selection was superb, and the service was prompt, friendly, unpretentious, and unobtrusive. Prices were about as you'd expect - around $25 total for a scramble, potatoes, and toast with bottomless coffee and a service charge.

Clean, solid food choices. Tasty.

By Troy V |

Very good place! Whoever is doing the cooking there knows what they are doing. Well executed and presented dishes.

Very Nice Restaurant

By Nory Y |

I had a few wonderful meals here, and everything was reasonably priced. The service was top notch. They had a couple great local beers on tap, which is a big plus for me. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is that my wife had an entree of Alaskan King crab that was not great. Otherwise, all the other seafood I sampled was top notch.

Breakfast is Outstanding

By Greg Fine |

This hotel restaurant provides a unique twist on traditional items. Had the biscuits & gravy one day and the eggs benedict the other. Both were outstanding. Service is good and the coffee very good. This is one hotel restaurant that can and does stand on its own merits.

Stay away

By Mike F |

Poorly prepared salads with stale croutons. Over priced for quality and small portions. To add insult, mandatory 20% service on poor attention from servers. HUGE MISTAKE to eat here and it takes a lot for me to write a negative review.

Late night gem!

By CraftyChick063 |

After a recent Mariner game, my husband and I had a light meal after 10:00pm. We each ordered a glass of wine and a caesar salad and the chicken wings. It was just the right amount and the service was excellent.

quick bar bites before calling it a night

By kurk26 |

I had a quick bite after a long day of travel at the hotel restaurant. The food was good the service was friendly and hopeful. What really helped me relax was dessert. I had the ice cream sunday . and it was yummy.

Good option if staying at the Hyatt

By Donna S |

Had drinks and breakfast at Urbane while staying at the Hyatt at Olive 8. Our breakfasts were very good, but it took a long time to get coffee (my husband was getting testy).

???

By Alonzo P |

I’m certain it wasn’t a full moon and so I don’t know how to explain the stunningly poor service we received. Besides the attitude of doing us a favor, our server rarely returned to determine whether we needed anything, and then was greatly lacking in promptly returning with it. Moreover, they brought an appetizer we didn’t request, received it back, and then placed the cost of it on the final bill! Which of course we didn’t pay. The food was good but nothing special and in no way justified the excessive expense. Fortunately, I am a person who learns from my mistakes and this is one never to be repeated. Note too that they included a 20% service charge for three people!?

Fun atmospher

By DAWG68-WA |

Very good restaurant with great views to people watch on the streets. Great for food before going to the paramount. Even though it has lots of glass, you never feel cold

More hype than substance

By Ghostrider5408 |

I am sure there are some that will disagree with me but I have not been a fan of the Urbane in the time it has been a part of the Olive 8. The menu is limited to what appears the chef thinks we should be eating. Breakfast is ok, I dislike the breakfast potatoes for the massive amount of seasoning especially that early in the am. Again fairly limited in offerings. The service is excellent, bar offerings are the better part of the Urbane but it is pricey, so remember that. But then what isn't getting more expensive.

Good hotel restaurant

By Chel1304 |

We were staying at the Grand Hyatt & they recommended their sister hotel for dinner. The restaurant was just off a busy bar. Nice, clean & modern our server (who was previously from Hyatt's Phoenix hotel) was welcoming & knowledgable about the wine & menu. We had a selection of starters between us & they were all flavoursome & tasty. Especially the crab cakes & artichoke dip. Good Pinot Noir, even though local wine was offered. Only negative was the check having 20% added as a standard. We of course would have offered this, but very presumptuous.

Food was Amazing

By Sheri G |

I'm a really picky eater, so when I saw the menu, I wasn't too happy. However, the food was fantastic from start to finish. The soup, salad, steak, wine, and dessert were all scrumptious. Good kid menu too.

Very Disappointed

By chris w |

The new trend in Seattle in the restaurant industry is to automatically include the 20% tip. Urbane is one that is doing this. To me, tipping was a way to communicate with the wait staff as to the quality of service rendered. This wasn't our first time in this establishment, Urbane is located near our Seattle time-share. The food is good, and quality products are used. The level of service that is offered by the wait staff is diminishing, getting close to that of the typical Denny's. The setting is nice and up to date. The prices are typical of most downtown finer dinning. The portions are modest size. If you are really hungry you may need two meals. When the common basic level of service is disappearing but the overall cost remains up there, well not to worry because the wait staff will always get there 20%.

Great service

By wingsofman72 |

Super service from everyone from the waitress to the bar manager made our visit exceptional. The slight problem we had was taken care of and left us with a great experience.

Delicious Brunch!

By esorensen85 |

My husband and I came to brunch at Urbane this morning before seeing a show at the Paramount just down the street. We have walked past it before, but this was our first time eating there. The decor and layout of the restaurant seemed very swanky for a hotel-based restaurant. I really liked the light fixtures and the decorations on the walls! The booth we sat in was very comfortable as well. We both had coffee - it was good and strong! They have bottomless mimosas for $18 during brunch, but we decided to forego the alcohol since the menu was a little pricey on its own. My hubby had the smoky sausage hash and said it was very yummy, albeit a little spicy (but he loves spice). I splurged and got the crab eggs benedict and I could not have been happier! I've had crab benedict before where the crab was a bit fishy, but NOT here. It was obviously freshly picked and the flavor was amazing! The hollandaise sauce was yummy and there was even a layer of spinach on the english muffin. The eggs were cooked to perfection. I cleaned my plate! It was pretty pricey, but I would come back for another splurge brunch because the food was so good. Every now and then you have to treat yourself, right? Also, the location is pretty ideal if you are seeing a show at the Paramount Theatre. It took us 5 minutes or less to walk to the theatre after eating. Don't pass this place by, at least for brunch!

Way too expensive

By Studio69 |

Food only average. The manager needs lessons in customer service and manners. Breakfast costing $50 for two with tip is way out of line. Menu confusing to read...

Thanksgiving Dinner

By Ana Brown |

I searched online before my trip to Seattle for a restaurant that would do a good thanksgiving dinner and I'm so glad I decided on Urbane. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic, it is not the cheapest of places but worth every penny.

Good happy hour menu!

By Bryan H |

While the red wine I had for happy hour was hard to stomach, the food we ordered (spiced nuts and the macaroni & cheese) were quite tasty. We were impressed with the portion of the mac and cheese for only seven dollars! We came half way through happy hour, and it was virtually empty on a Saturday, although by the time we left, things were starting to heat up. Service had been fine up until we asked for a check. They gave us the wrong tab, and when I drew it to our server's attention, his reaction was odd. Not apologetic ... a little aggressive or deceptive. I'm not sure what that was about. I got a weird vibe from the whole experience.

It is a limited menu focused on potatoes for breakfast

By MrPKI |

Do not get me wrong, it was a delicious breakfast with good service at a reasonable downtown Seattle price, but I felt the menu was heavily focused on potatoes being the primary ingredient in most of the breakfast dishes.

Average quality and prices on the high side

By ARATT_SG |

My breakfast there was quite disappointing. No breakfast combo options, and when you add one orange juice (not fresh btw) and one coffee, you end up with a breakfast at more than $30. For comparison, in Boston at the Marriott you have access to a large buffet breakfast for $20.

Mainly fine

By Gary D |

Everyone enjoyed the food but no one raved for it. Service was very good-shout out to Allen for it. I enjoyed the crab cakes and the mac n cheese from the small bites/starter menu. I think their wine selection is decent but price per glass is steep.

Delicious Food with Good Service

By MaureenRiley44 |

I hosted a work dinner at Urbane and the food was excellent. I hosted 15 people and we had two long tables in a back section, which was perfect because we had our own space. I had to present some information and didn't want to bother other diners. The service was very good too. I also eat there when I stay at the hotel and every meal that I had was delicious and the atmosphere was pleasant.

Lacklustre service, interesting menu

By beachbummer75 |

Bar was full , dining area was largely empty It took more than 10 minutes of waiting to be attended by someone before being shown to a table And then another 10 minutes of waving in the air to get attention for food and drinks order The menu had interesting selections including smoked duck with noodles, bok choy, mushrooms and some fried stuff The duck was fatty - too hard to chew and swallow though it was flavorful Noodles and mushrooms were really salty. There was no place to put my wet umbrella - was told to just leave it lying on the floor. Considering Seattle rains a lot this is quite odd as I really didn’t want to wet the floor. Service was sullen. Really would have appreciated even a tiny smile to end my work day on nice note

Gluten Free options

By WkndBoudreau |

I had the gluten-free toast. It was surprisingly amazing. The best GF toast I've ever had. It was also surpringly expensive. I couldn't believe it! However after eating it, I would buy it again.

Good eggs benedict

By Pambomatic |

Stopped in for a bite during Emerald City Comic Con in full cosplay. They didn't bat an eye! Service was very good, food was delicious. Atmosphere was pretty good. They are a bit more expensive than I hoped, but it is in downtown Seattle, where everything's a bit more pricey. Nice place.

High price for average breakfast

By Thomas T |

I was staying at the associated Hyatt hotel on business, so tried the restaurant for breakfast around 7:45 AM. I was seated immediately and the water brought coffee and took my order right away. I ordered the simple bacon and eggs. It took 15-20 minutes for the food to arrive. Instead of fried potatoes or hashbrowns, I received unpeeled potatoes that had been sauteed. Two were rather large, bigger than golf balls. Not what I expected. The eggs were cooked perfectly (over medium) and the bacon was crisp as I requested. Bread was a standard english muffin. I also had coffee. Total bill was more than $23, which seemed somewhat overpriced. Next morning I had a light meal imn the grab-and-go facility which was better (especially the almond croissant) at 1/3 the price.

Try it for breakfast

By steve-h132 |

Went twice for breakfast, not crowded and good service. The french toast was much better than the eggs.

Marty made it magnificent

By Beth A |

Our first at one of the plethora of new places downtown. And being suspicious of restaurants attached to a hotel chain we came dubious. But the eco friendly vibe and easy seating led to a lovely evening with friendly wait staff (Marty), great food (try the mushroom risotto!) and generally great ambience.

Close to the hotel & a great NW breakfast

By J_n_G_n_AZ |

While visiting friends in Seattle and doing a little touristy stuff, we wound up going to Urbane since it was really close to the Paramount Hotel and our friends have a 3 year old to keep track of at all times. Needless to say, wandering downtown Seattle for a breakfast place with the little one would have added unnecessary stress to the most important meal of the day. We were seated and taken care of straightaway. The coffee was fantastic and delivered promptly. The servers took care of the little one with crayons, etc., quickly as well. I had the NW Omelet, which was chock full of salmon, shrimp and some sort of whitefish. A really tasty dish, indeed. It's a little on the pricey side, with my dish going in the $13-14 range. Still, I'd recommend Urbane for service and quality alone.

Great food service is a WEAK point

By Flare A. |

Repost for people to understand what's going on For the food I would give 5 stars but a restaurant is more than a meal its service too. So short the food is perfect and was very enjoyable but the reason why this review is not 5 stars is below. Our night started with us being greeted by the hostess and she was lively and got us a perfect table for my husband and I to people watch and enjoy. (Though there was a lot of empty tables but being a Monday that is understandable) One gentleman came and gave us water letting us know he was not our waiter but our waiter would be with us shortly. (I would like to say his name started with a J but I cant be positive) Our waiter (I believe was Alex based on the ticket since he never introduced himself and didnt wear his name tag) came a bit later and he pointed out the drink menu and said he would be back soon. When he came back he asked if we wanted anything and I responded that water would be perfect for me and the waiter shut down and didnt even take my husbands order. Which then my husband decided to have just a diet Pepsi. Since we had a late lunch we decided to have split meal but still ordered 3 courses. We ordered the cheese plate, which was a chef's choice. Which was fantastic. We had a blue cheese, a hard cheese and one with herbs we believe was basil, but honestly we could not tell you because we were served it not telling us anything about it and not a single recommendation what would be best. At the very least I wish we could have had an idea of what we ate. Or even have our waiter ask if we enjoyed it since it is a chef choice. We split the fish and chips which has a great flavor (yet their tartar sauce is very sour) but overall was great but I think our waiter failed again not informing us that it is one piece of fish for the 2 of us to split. At the end our waiter was ready to get rid of us and was surprised when he asked if we wanted dessert and we said yes. And just placed the menu down and walked away. We ended up ordering the strawberry rhubarb cake (which again was great) Overall the service was slow (for only having max 3 tables the whole time we were there including our table) and the wait staff needs a lot more training. Especially since our waiter who was helping maybe one other table couldn't even keep our drinks filled. The most disappointing part for it was that their is a mandatory 20% tip since our waiter deserved max 18%. (Which says a lot because my husband wont give below 23% but he was upset too) Overall the food is fantastic, but the wait staff is needing training on basic serving. -introducing yourself -keeping drinks full -talk to the patrons of the restaurant At bare minimum

Great food and a good experience

By Strommc |

A nice restaurant with very good food. I was staying in the hotel and ate at Urbane two nights in a row given how convenient it was. The menu was diverse enough that I could have easily eaten here more than I already did and still had new experiences. The service was very good and there was a decent drinks list (a little light on draft beer for a Northwest restaurant). It is a hotel restaurant so prices were a little high relative to a stand alone restaurant but at the end of the day the food and service was great so being slightly over priced wasn't an issue.

Enforced service charge - Poor service

By Paul_H_Ldn |

I begrudgingly accept it is becoming regular practice for restaurants to automatically add a high service charge to your bill. What I don’t appreciate is when there is a direct correlation of poor service due to the waiting staff knowing irrespective of their efforts you will be ‘rewarding’ them handsomely anyway. This restaurant in particular appears to employ a number of staff that apply very little in way of true customer service, and so create a real sense of frustration at being ‘charged’ for their lacklustre attention and approach to their role. The food itself is reasonable, the cost of wine is not. Its a pity the rest of the experience is all so mediocre. Can I suggest the restaurant manager starts to actually ask clients about their experience at the point of service, perhaps then he may better understand the issue and approach the obvious training needs of his team.

Good food, slow food service

By sandyldavis |

We enjoyed our breakfasts three mornings in a row (and our servers) but two of the mornings we waited close to an hour to get our food.

Delicious food and drinks

By Elena |

I love coming here and getting some food after a crazy hard work day. Their food is fresh and delicious!

Pleasant restaurant at the Hyatt

By Bo Abrahamsen |

Sleek, modern yet friendly. I don't think you can go wrong with the food here (dinner was certainly good) and the menu even had some surprising elements like greasy Canadian comforting Poutine. They do cocktails well and the wines were great too. Good central location near the Convention Centre.

Very poor service but still the audacity to demand a tip

By Paul M |

The service in the bar here is terrible. I've no idea where the bartender was trained but it was not anywhere good. The hotel is acceptable but avoid the bar. I had no intention of adding service but they had added it already. I had it taken off. I assume that when a bar knows their service is awful they add it anyway in an attempt to intimidate customers into paying. Poor!

Breakfast was okay

By marvtv |

i ordered the pancakes and bacon side with coffee. The coffee was nice and strong and tasted fresh. The pancakes tasted good and nice proportion. Bacon was crisp and did not seem to be old. Staff was very good and attentive to my needs. I'm only giving an average for the breakfast because there wasn't anything particular that made me want to say very good, but the food and service was good.

Mid-Tier food at Top-Tier Hotel prices

By Dean B |

Ate breakfast in the restaurant and room service dinner. Scrambled eggs were nicely done, but Eggs Benedict were a bit undercooked and the hollandaise was way too salty. The English Muffin had an off flavor like it was toasted with some other highly aromatic food, and it kind of sank the dish. Couldn't finish it. The room service burger was quite good, but the fries were cooked to a deep brown shoe leather and about as tough. Judging by the other reviews, I think I too must have visited on an off day. I wouldn't ding the food at Urbane, but I certainly would first suggest you try one of the many other fine dining experiences just a short walk away.

Great restaurant in Hyatt

By Ann K |

We ate here twice on our trip. Breakfast was incredible. Original food with some flare. Dinner was also good, a bit pricey but this is common in downtown Seattle. Nice atmosphere with great service

Great Fries.

By Carrie H |

They have GREAT fries -and a fry sauce with horseradish in it. They were SOOOOO good. Very good service and accommodating late at night.

Super spot for a quick drink or bite!

By Ohiofamily |

Urbane is located in the Hyatt Olive 8, which has one of the best locations in the city for weekend visits! We only had drinks here this time and can say that the atmosphere is sleek, sophisticated, modern and welcoming to the casual visitor. Great selection of local wines and spirits! Super friendly staff and really fun vibe. Highly recommended.

Fast and good food

By Gilson284 |

I visit for lunch and the meal was perfect. I loved the peach lemonade. I ordered the smoked salmon and it was perfect.

Good Food, Terrible Service

By Ashurina |

I came to Urbane for brunch because the menu looked good. The food was very good but not worth the terrible service. Of course, 20% gratuity is included in your bill. The server took so long to greet us and take our drink order that we decided to order everything right away, sensing how the service would continue for the entirety of the brunch. The food took forever to come out and on top of that my boyfriend had to wait half an hour to get a refill on his coffee. We both agreed the pancakes were delicious but we wouldn’t come back nor recommend Urbane due to the service. No one greeted us or said anything as we walked out either. The food is great but truly being ruined by the service. Either hire more servers or train them better.

Food OK, Service & Cleanliness Poor. Not recommended.

By Lisa B |

Bad start when I arrived for my reservation, said I was meeting 2 other people and they still didn't seat me with my party. We had to find each other eventually. After our salads came our server kept asking us if we wanted to see a dessert menu and trying to give us our check. We told her 3 times that we still had our main courses coming. Finally, she trealized that she forgot and had never put our food order in. The food finally came, it was fine, some things better than others. Good wedge salad. Women's restroom was appalling. Standing water on the floor in the stall, no toilet paper anywhere to be seen, garbage strewn all over the floor and in the sink. Awful. Yet the restaurant was quite empty at that time. I normally don't mind an automatic service charge, but in this case the 20% required was nowhere near earned. It's a good location, but I don't plan on returning.

Never a bad breakfast

By QueenTraveler22 |

My husband and I ate several breakfasts here, and they were all good. He explored the sweet/decadent side of the menu, while I alternated between steel cut oats and eggs/sausage.

Yummy Breakfast

By MissML1 |

I would recommend checking this place for breakfast or brunch if you are staying at the Hyatt. The restaurant is convenient and has yummy breakfast and great customer services.

We had a drink and appetizers

By Ellesbells742 |

We did not eat an entire meal here, but did have drinks and appetizers. The service was great. The bit we had was fine. Was convenient to our hotel, as it was attached. I think there is an elevator down, but we walked down a flight of stairs.

Nice breakfast!

By Lynda C |

We were surprised that we had to walk a block from the Grand Hyatt for breakfast after our stay there, but we did enjoy our breakfast at Urbane. A good selection of breakfast items, and efficient service. Too many fried potatoes, though.

Great location and service

By Coachdoc |

Stopped in the night the Beach Boys were playing in 45 minutes across the street, so was crowded. They asked if our group of 6 minded sitting slightly up the stairs in what appeared to be the Hyatt lobby area, and they served us drinks there. Even after the crowd left, we stayed where we were and were very comfortable!

Reviews don’t mirror actual service

By jennnn531 |

We made a reservation for dinner because we had read the previous reviews about wait time. We got there are there were maybe two tables full. Our meal was good, I had the mushroom risotto. Our server forgot our drink order so we had to wait extra time for that. They also charged us an additional gratuity charge.

Great Drinks and Service

By sadie155Leland |

Went here for Happy Hour after a show at the Paramount and it was decent. Can be pricey if you don't order the items on Happy Hour.

Disappointing

By Gbemes |

You would think that being in the Northwest they would have a recipe perfected if it was anything with fish. I had the Fish and Sticks and it came out overdone on the verge of burnt. I tried to pull all the fish out to make an edible dish and left all the scraps on the plate and when the waitress came over she didn't even bother to ask if everything was okay. Now I have been a server myself and if I had seen that I would certainly ask if everything was okay. Their was fish stuck to all the pieces of so called breading so it was obvious that I did not enjoy my meal. On the other hand my wife really liked her hamburger and the fries were unique and tasty and the Salmon chowder was worth it. Which brings me to the question of if they are going to automatically add a 20% gratuity to your meal then why the hell wouldn't they be the best service oriented place in town? Well that's because they don't give care because they already are making the 20% and so they don't really care. Will not return

Good food - other aspects not so much

By Nancy H |

OK, the food was good. I would even say Very Good. Tasty, well-presented, generous. But, the automatic gratuity put me off right away. For four people. For one person. I guess that makes it easy, but I yearn for the days when a gratuity was just that, and not a gimmee. When I asked about breakfast breads, our waiter told me that she would have to walk across the hall to check with the bakery. What - why did I need to know that... Excuse me for troubling you. And then when the food came, it was not delivered by our waiter or by someone who knew where the food was going. It was delivered by staff who asked, "Now who has the..." I expected better. I would not go back.

Very Overrated Dining

By TheNCGeechieGal |

Stayed at the Hyatt and stopped down to grab a bite for dinner. Ordered the Mac and Cheese and the Stuffed Mushrooms, both of which were overcooked and bland. The shrooms were burned to boot, but I was too tired to take them back down so I just ate what I could and threw the rest out. Perhaps it was an 'off' day considering the other reviews but there was nothing impressive about either dish...

Seems to be more of a bar then a restaurant.

By Harring10 |

I appreciate that the kitchen was still open for my late arrival after 10 PM. However, the menu is a bit limited and the food is prepared with a lot of salt that is typical of much bar food. I guess to get everyone to drink more. The happy hour from 9 PM to close is nice with $4 draft beers, I which can help wash down the salty food.

Good Restaurant

By lordfaust |

I used to take my breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Very nice service and I loved the continental breakfast.

Nice American Breakfast

By Keith O |

Sometimes you want a good american breakfast - two eggs cooked to your choice, some bacon or sausage, potatoes, and a cup of joe. It is even better when it is not some greasy spoon. Urbane has a great breakfast service in a great setting. It might cost a bit more than a greasy spoon, but it will be better. There are some other specials on the menu that look good too. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was done well.

Excellent

By Keith O |

An excellent choice for American Bistro in Seattle. We enjoyed our Valentine's day meal and really enjoyed it. The food was great. The portions were realistic (not too big or too small), the wine selection was good, and thgthge service excellent. We would go back!

Good Food, Good Service

By RBoyleJr |

My wife and I arrived to the Hyatt in the evening and went to this restaurant because it's conveniently located inside the hotel. All of the staff we had contact with were friendly and fun to chat with. The food was good but yes, it's on the pricy side. They have a great location and style; with widows along two sides. You can tell they're trying to appeal to the locals as much as the hotel guests. I read some of the other reviews and a lot of people are complaining about the price for the food. If I were a local, I'd probably consider it too pricey for the food / service and go somewhere else. Buts thats the freedom of being a local. For frequent travelers, the pricing is comparable to what you'd pay at other 4 star hotels, but to me, the food quality far exceeds most hotel restaurants. So, depending on whether your a local or a business traveler, will greatly affect your thoughts on this matter. For me, the food was very good and not out of line for my situation. My wife and I wen't back to our room full, happy and satisfied with our meal.

Don’t go there

By Laurent |

Went there for breakfast. Food is expensive and less than average service is Weak So many other places in Seattle

One of the best breakfast dishes that I have in Seattle.

By Lauralee627 |

I had classic Egg Benedict with Grapefruit juice. I loved their local hot sauce (it is purchasable!) and the side dish (smoked tomato with herb was the bomb!). Egg Benedict was good, too! Great service and the food! Fresh ingredient and Nice servers~!

We had coffee there

By Pamela L |

This is a nice spot in the city of coffee to relax and enjoy a few snack while staying at the Hyatt Olive 8. The lines are not long, even during their Thanksgiving Macy's parade

Do not eat here!! Waiter was

By l4travel |

Do not eat here!! Waiter was rude and forgot to put in drinks order to start. All food and drinks where brought out well after everyone around us. Food was over priced and mediocre at best. I had to send food back as it wasn't edible the first try. I hate doing this but at $30 a plate, it's just too expensive not to ask it to be cooked a little longer. Overall it's a nicely decorated hotel restaurant. Maybe good for drinks or appetizers. There is also a mandatory 20% service charge. Thus the waiters attitude. UPDATE: we asked for our food to be boxed as we just wanted to leave and the next day found that parts of the dinner were never put in the box. The waiter had taken it. What kind of immature person does this is and what kind of restaurant allows this? For a $150 dinner it’s insane how bad this all was. Clearly this place has issues. It's a nicely decorated hotel restaurant. If you want a drink and some apps it seems fine. Don't bother with more. What waiter steals food from to-go boxes because you asked to have it correctly cooked?

Warm lunch on a chilly day - perfect!

By Mthebaker |

After a morning of shopping we stopped in for a warm soup and grilled cheese. The grilled cheese was lusciously melted and yummy. Perfect meal for a cold day.

Contemporary decor and delicious local food

By Axel8807 |

We really enjoyed the cuisine in this "Restaurant in a hotel" which does not always attract us at first. The beet salad hit the spot really. We had the black cod for main course and we both agreed that this was a delicious preparation of a great fish. The French fries are very tasty but the portion can be shared easily as it is huge! (or you skip the dessert!)

Good but expensive

By Steven L |

The breakfast/brunch is delicious but the two of us dropped $50 before tip the first time we ate here. I'm not saying it wasn't worth it, but it is hotel prices.

Gourmet Breakfast

By dillydally77 |

Came here for breakfast as we were staying at the Hyatt @ Olive 8 and it was convenient. Hotel restaurants can sometimes be hit or miss but this one is definitely a hit! I had the dungeness crab eggs benedict and was pleasantly surprised. Best gourmet breakfast that I've had in a long time.

Good Breakfast

By TravelbyXingby |

Had both dinner and breakfast here. Dinner was light with just soup of the day (mushroom), which was way too salty, and the crab cakes appetizer (3 smallish medallions), which was quite tasty. Breakfast was more enjoyable. The pancakes were huge and delicious.

New Years Day brunch

By Spencer Jove W |

Tracy was the best!! My five friends and I were staying over for NYE and we came down for brunch in the late morning. Get the biscuits and gravy. You won't be disappointed.

Great surprise!

By 24lorraineS |

Never too sure about hotel restaurants - usually just handy in a pinch however, Urbane turned out to be quite a surprise - the food was fresh and very tasty. You can hardly go wrong with restaurants in Seattle but give this one a try if you are stumped.

Amazing dinner!

By Crystal C |

My colleague and I had dinner here one evening during our week long stay in Seattle. The food and service were awesome. After reading the menu online I was a little hesitant because I am a picky eater. However, we decided to check it out. I am so glad we did! I only wished we had been in town longer so we could have dined here again.

Fresh Simply Prepared Fish

By RosanneF-B |

I had the salmon and my husband had the halibut. Each dish was fresh, the fish simply prepared and perfectly cooked. We had Creme Brûlée with stone fruit compote for dessert. We loved this combination. My only criticism would be that we felt a little rushed by our waiter. Though, he was very attentive and pleasant.

Worst breakfast every

By kafka399 |

I ordered fried eggs and they came as whole mass mixed with mushrooms, cheese and greens. Aside I got overcooked, fatty, few days old potatoes and browny toast full of butter. Awesome breakfast, not...

Great lobby restaurant for a drink and quick bite

By Andrea G |

Urbane operates the hotel's room service as well as a full service restaurant. I ordered both room service and ate in the restaurant. Great cocktails and local farm to table food options but the menu was somewhat limited. Perfect spot for happy hour or a late night drink. Try the mac and cheese made with Beecher's white cheddar :)

Delicious Food, Delectable Environment

By Nocternal345 |

Ate breakfast here while I was staying at the Hyatt at Olive 8. Much like the hotel itself, Urbane has a luxury modern feel. We were quick to be seated and served, which was nice considering my schedule that day. What made this notable was the services was not done in a rushed manner, but more of an understanding manner based on my needs. Often you go to a restaurant and the speed of service does not match what you really want. Example: Being rushed on date night. While I can only vouch for the Eggs Benedict, my meal was delicious and made with high quality ingredients. Also the prices were not out of line with what I was getting. Next time I am in Seattle I will be coming back.

My Seattle go to away from home

By Blessed2Bmarried |

We recently spent 4 nights at the Olive 8 and found ourselves at the hip restaurant connected to the hotel 2x for breakfast and 1x for dinner. The food was good and the staff very nice.

Great Breakfast, Great Meet-Up

By CaNative07 |

Modern decor in the bar area, happening sidewalk seating scene in the evening. Great place to meet up with traveling companions, wonderful breakfast menu (bacon, tomato, goat cheese scramble = yum). A little pricey, but worth it. Great service.

Delicious every day

By LosAngelesTraveldiva |

Have breakfast here for a week while stay at Hyatt Olive 8; as well as a few lunches. Very convenient when staying at the Hyatt but also worth the trip if not. Super fresh, farm to table concept. Every meal was delicious and the service was great. Great meeting spot in the evening as well, with nice bar, and indoor and outdoor seating with elements of privacy.

Breakfast after Hyatt 8 stay

By DrDaveMaui |

We checked in after midnight to Hyatt Olive 8. Had breakfast at Urbane conveniently in lobby. We were hungry, and Sam at the Front Desk told us that all the nearby spots in the neighborhood (even the night owl ones that used to be open until 2 a.m. now closed at midnight. Room service from Urbane ended at midnight). He suggested some selections from lobby cafe, and we enjoyed/appreciated the kale salad, ham/cheese sandwiches. And the chocolate bar in the room. We had breakfast at Urbane the next morning. I had gravlax salmon on a bagel; Olympic omelette with Dungeness carb/onions/sweet peppers d rye toast; coffee and cappuccino. They were fine. Everything was local farm to table and fresh.

Tasty food, for a price

By Malcolm_Heath |

I dined here several times as it was in the hotel I was staying at for a work conference. The prices are high, even for Seattle, but you can't fault the quality.

On site at Hyatt Olive 8 Hotel and near Paramount Theatre

By enjoytravelnj |

Served a very good supper. Certainly much better than most hotel associated restaurants. Also the breakfast was delicious with regional and traditional favorites. Enjoyed our window seats but also booths looked inviting. Seemed popular with locals.

Nice lunch spot

By M Z |

My experience here was very pleasant. The decor is interesting and pleasing to look at. I was meeting a friend for lunch and the server was charming. The prices are on the higher side, but everything was of good quality and the bartender made me a most excellent cocktail which honestly was worth every penny. One thing I really appreciated was that at no time were we made to feel rushed.

Excellent food, excellent qualilty

By Karlynda B |

My friend chose Urbane as her restaurant of choice for her birthday dinner. She had been there before but I had not. I LOVED it. The menu isn't huge, but is diverse. I had the fish & chips, which was excellent. The fish was breaded, perfectly cooked, and wonderfully flaky on the inside. The fries are excellent and the horseradish tartar sauce was phenomenal. My friend ordered the Mac & cheese with crab added and she raved about it. (note, it's listed as a side dish but its a large portion and can easily be a main dish). We ordered the Poutine as a started, and holy cow was it good. (God bless you Canada.) One thing to note: when they bring you the bill, there is a service charge already added for gratuity. Some have noted that in their review and they don't like it - it didn't bother me, as it was a little lower than I would have tipped anyway, so I added "additional gratuity" on top of it. One thing I can say about that, though, is our server pointed it out when he gave me the check. I generally look at the total, add tip, and don't look that closely otherwise. He could have easily gotten a double tip from me and I wouldn't have been the wiser. That said, unless you are a...uh...cheap tipper, that service charge shouldn't bug anybody too much if the service was excellent, as ours was.

The place gets busy for a reason

By Charles T |

Hotel restaurants are usually somewhere between "oh gawd what have I done" to "meh". But Urbane is actually pretty great, and I really can't say more about the benedicts without sounding like an addict

Some what disappointed to say the least.

By Anne F |

We were vacationing in Seattle and opted to eat at this restaurant based on a recommendation to my husband from an on line acquaintance who lives in the area. The service was ok. My husband started with crab cakes that he said were very good. I had the beet salad. No dressing or seasoning with very litttle flavour if any. For an entree my husband had the duck breat which was very small for an entree and cold. I had lemon brined chicken that had no flavour at all and the corn kernels were black and as hard as a rock. We had to ask for salt and pepper. One glass of wine only and no other drinks dessert or coffee. My son was with us and had the chicken as well. The bill was 137.00 US dollars and they had added a 20% service charge. Not impressed and would not return. The room is very large and very noisy as well.

Great food; Great staff; Not so great coffee

By Todd C |

I've eaten here a few times. The bar staff has always been great. Drinks were good. Food was delicious. Coffee was not good. I've tried it a few times and it wasn't good any of the times -- but I'm a coffee snob (aka connoisseur). :) It takes like coffee from a Keurig or stale bagged coffee, so depends on your taste. I recommend the mac-n-cheese or the grass-fed burger. (Writing this review makes me want to go back to Seattle!)

Decent

By Glendyne R |

We came to Urbane for both a late night drink after a show and the next morning for breakfast. We enjoyed hanging out with friends for a drink. Our server was friendly and even though it was close to closing time (about 30 minutes prior) she was polite and attentive to our party. I had the Summer Delight drink (Vanilla Vodka, cream, lemon Juice, Solerno Blood orange Liqueur, simple syrup) and quite enjoyed the unique flavors of it. My husband had a mojito and it unfortunately fell short of his expectations (he didn't think they put enough mint in it). We were staying at the hotel and had breakfast here the next morning. The breakfast was lovely. Great portion sizes and freshly prepared food with good flavors. We really liked the breakfast potatoes.

Huge

By tonypH1142LK |

Had breakfast twice here as it was convenient to accommodation. Menu has variety, staff friendly and efficient, relaxed atmosphere and huge servings. If size is your thing then you’ll love it.

Excellent food and excellent service

By Joe Harjadi |

Our family had breakfast here and everything is fresh and top notch! There was no wait and service was unequalled! We definitely will come back here next time we visit Seattle.

Fantastic fresh and delicious

By 478debrac |

Fantastic fresh food. My husband ate here every day, tried something new. Fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation.

Great menu and service

By Seattle1313 |

I want to love this restaurant but I can't. At the end of the day, it always feels and looks like a hotel restaurant. The menu is fantastic, the service is always great, but the food (especially breakfast) tastes fine but ... like room service (and not in a good way). It can be quite chilly near the exterior entrance so try to be seated away from that.

Ok in a pinch

By metroman48 |

Went here because it was in our hotel and couldn't really go out that night. Had calamari as an appetizer and it was good nothing special but well cooked, disappointing that they only gave a ranch type aoli and not the traditional spicy marinara. Dinner I got the grilled King Salmon with asparagus and greens, I loved the asparagus it was just perfetly done not overcooked, but not to raw. However, the salmon was was too crisp and almost burnt flavored, not the best. My wife got the side of Beecher's Mac & Cheese, and it was good and definitely a dinner serving in itself.

Some good, some great

By Mel10901 |

Staying at the Hyatt Olive 8, had a long day of travel so we decided to eat here. I had a yummy grapefruit/vodka drink and some very yummy blue cheese truffle popcorn. Started off great. I had a kale/apple salad with Beecher's flagship cheddar which was so good I wished it was entree sized. My crab cakes were good, but disappointing- not great. My father had the iceberg wedge salad which was good and the burger (no cheese)- also, just good. The hand cut fries however, were great. Dad also had vanilla ice cream with sugar cookies which he thoroughly enjoyed. In summary, some good, some great.

It could be great... but

By Susan H |

They are in a great location, the space is very nice, full of light, nice decor and the menu reads interesting and inventive.. But the execution of service is where is falls down. They just never get the order right if you tweek and often the details of the entree are missing or served cold. They seem to have a lot of staff turn over so the regulars are never recognized anymore. To give them a plug... their Migas for Breakfast are great.. really great but don't order if the tortilla part is critical for you because they are often stale and cold.

Very disappointing New Year's dinner

By l3tsg01 |

We made the unfortunate mistake to choose this place for our New Year's eve dinner. Zero charm, zero festivities and probably one of the worst food we have had in Seattle. What a depressing ambiance. With the very limited choices and the very few patrons, they still had no prime rib ready at 9pm. The wait was another '20mnts in the oven'. The alternative was a ribeye. The plate arrived and it looked like a child's meal. About a tablespoon of mashed potatoes smeared on the plate, three asparagus spears and the smallest ribeye I have seen. This was a $36 plate. All very bland. The appetizers were all meh for the exception of the bisque which was very tasty. With so many choices of restaurants in Seattle and the good food to be had, I will stir clear of this place. Let alone for any kind of special occasion.

Great for breakfast, but loud at lunch

By Robert H |

We ate here several time breakfast, as my hotel was just near the Hyatt. They offer really good food, but it is quite expensive. The staff is very friendly, and they serve the dishes quite fast. We were also once here for lunch for a business meeting, they also serve dishes, but quite small portions. It has a contemporary look, and there is enough space for everything....

Good food!

By MJ_JR00 |

Pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant in my hotel. Several good vegetarian options, a nice wine list, emphasis on local products. Worth a visit!

Decent Food

By DunkmanEdmonton |

Conveneint if staying at the Hyatt at Olive 8. Reasonably priced for downtown hotel. Good kids menu with healthy choices.

Delicious!!!

By rpisces |

Both my lunch companion and I had the Croque Madam, without the egg. It was so delicious we ate the whole thing. I will go back for seconds!!

I liked it but I didn't love it (3.5*)

By LadyLuxe14 |

Perhaps I would have liked this place more if we came in on a "regular night/day", since everyone seems to be raving about the happy hour and the brunch. But we came in on Valentine's Day...the menu was themed and set at $65 per person for a four course meal, which seemed like a pretty great deal (compared to other culinary experiences on the same trip- not so much). Everything was quite delicious, and I thought the set Valentines menu was very well crafted- there was something for everyone. From appetizer to dessert- I enjoyed every bite. But why only 3.5 stars then? Well...The place was packed (on rezos) until way past dinner time...yet it was understaffed, especially for a Valentines day. Our poor waiter did his best, but we were sometimes forgotten. Even though I have a lot of sympathy for restaurant Staff, I also find that the places that have mandatory 20% gratuity included on the bill have lower service levels. Curious to see how it would be on a regular night. The music choices for the night were pretty horrible- didn't really help the ambiance...on Valentines Day...when you do want a little bit of romance in the air. But perhaps this was our bad...the place is ultra modern as shown on their website, so it doesn't exactly scream romantic. It was a lovely night, nevertheless, made even lovelier after being presented with a single white rose and Valentines gourmet chocolate at the end of the night. Classy & sweet, Urbane! Final verdict: I will give it another shot on my next trip...the food was pretty great and all these people who gave it 4 & 5 stars can't be all wrong. Can they? I just wasn't wowed and I felt like I should have been...perhaps my experience at Shaker + Spear has ruined me for all other hip Seattle restaurants? Perhaps! That's why I will be fair and try it again for brunch or happy hour (and review again)! There's definitely something there...

Good breakfast

By mpicchioldi |

Had breakfast here before heading out to explore the city. Selections were good as well as the food.

Modern decor restaurant.

By podrozniczka60 |

Like many establishments in Seattle the 20% tip or service charge are not optional here but added to your bill. The place looks good with its modern simple, somewhat trendy decor. We came for lunch. The prices rather high. The service was very slow and we ended up having to spend more time than we initially wanted.

Good pre-theater cocktail and snacks

By UnrepentantFoodie |

Needed a little pre-theater nourishment (we planned dinner for after) and a cocktail to get in the right mood. Urbane met all our requirements! From the list of house signature cocktails we selected the Columbia City and Walnut Manhattan which was local Woodinville Whiskey, dry vermouth, walnut bitters, and a walnut half. Loved both, and with that we gnoshed on an outstanding plate of poutine with mushrooms (crab and short ribs were also available) absolutely nailed our requirements.

Delicious food & Enjoyable atmosphere

By KSL888 |

We had a great dinner here with friends and children the other night, before heading over to see a show at The Paramount Theater. Our server was attentive and pleasant, and mindful of our deadline to get out to our event - which was very helpful. The food was delicious - the steaks were wonderful and my husband raved about his lamb dinner. And the kids were very happy with their mac & cheese -- and so were the adults when we stole a bite. We'd definitely come here again!

Excellent breakfast

By Shelly97060 |

We enjoyed a breakfast here during a recent stay. My husband and I each had the Crab Benedict and shared a fruit plate. The crab Benedict was well prepared, the crab was fresh and the potatoes were well seasoned and served along side very spicy tomato relish ( too spicy for me). The fruit plate was not your typical melon plate- it was grapefruit, blueberries, cherries, strawberries and apples. We had no complaints and would eat here again.

Ok for a fast lunch

By NabilBKK |

Convenient when in a hurry to have proper lunch. This place is nearby AWS offices and service is fast. Food choice is ok, but not really tasty.

Good breakfast

By Shamim |

Enjoyed my breakfast here. The Crab Benedict was great. Awesome roasted potatoes. Like a couple other downtown Seattle restaurants, I noticed these guys also add a mandatory 20% gratuity (bummer), however, the service is good.

Not Many and Good Veg Options

By savvyuec |

As some else has mentioned its more of bar rather then a restaurant. There were only 2 veg options. Of the one that i tried the bread was half cooked and then the taste was very bald. Service and rest of the things were ok though.

Happy Hour Stop

By Carolee B |

We stopped here for a happy hour drink and a light snack. Actually, the Mac & Cheese we had was the best we've ever had. Chicken wings and drinks were also good.

Best hotel restaurant ever!

By James F |

From appetizers to sandwiches to breakfast to entrees, this restaurant has the best food I have ever eaten in a hotel restaurant. It also has a great bar.

Breakfast becomes brunch!

By StormCentral |

Urbane restaurant is an amazing place to enjoy wonderful fare at any hour but it is the best way to begin your day. The breakfast entrees offer so much variety it is like visiting a smorgasbord. Even my finicky family was thrilled with the selections and even more pleased with the food and the service. You need to fit this into your plans.

Disappointed

By callensberg |

We stopped in here for a later night (9:30) appetizer and a quick drink after a Show at the Paramount. The Server took our order and other people served the food. She had missed one order completely and the missed order of food came when we were almost ready to leave, so we waited for one person in our party of only three to eat. No biggie, but when our checks arrived they had added a service charge to all three checks in the amount of 20%. The server overheard me discussing that with my friend and decided to argue with me about how they are not paid a livable wage and how the restaurant adds the charge automatically. She said it was highlighted on the bill;. We all looked at the bill and no highlight. She said "well you can't see it." She told me that "all restaurants in Seattle do it"...no I've lived her 40 years, no they do not. I'm a good tipper, I think servers and all people should be paid a livable wage. I don't like a 20% tip added to a table of three, and I don't appreciate it being added to the bill of the person she forgot to place the order for. The appetizer should have been comped. I don't like having a server argue with me at the end of a nice evening out with friends. I don't like 20% added to our bills and I don't like a server arguing with me in front of my friends over her not being paid a livable wage. This restaurant is a part of Hyatt, talk to them about a livable wage and yes, I will continue to tip my 20% when warranted, but don't force it on me when the service is sub par for only a small group..

Good food and service

By Georgie |

Had dinner here on the first night of my stay in Seattle. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The meals were well presented and tasty - I had the grilled salmon and highly recommend.

Great food and service!

By Heidibrarian |

I am gluten free and a very sensitive Celiac. This restaurant's offerings for breakfast were extensive and I enjoyed getting to choose from a variety. The food was excellent and I felt well-taken-care-of.

Great food at a Steep Price

By WayneAnderson |

Urbane offers a strong menu of local fare, sourced from nearby farms and seafood. Always good for an upscale, quality meal, customers need to plan to enjoy the experience as it can be a bit slow at busy times and you pay somewhat for the location in the Hyatt Olive 8. A key highlight of Urbane is the vibrant bar experience in the evenings. I have spent many an evening enjoying a whisky mixed drink. In addition to a great array of liquor options, Urbane focuses the wine selection on local OR and WA options, as well as locally sourced beers. If you can afford the prices, its always great for a dinner during your trip, or a stop-in for a semi-casual date night in the city.

Excellent Breakfast

By BijayBNI |

Whilst staying at the Grand Hyatt, 2 blocks away, we chose to have breakfast at this restaurant which is part of the Olive 8 Brand of Hyatt. They have an excellent menu choice and best of all we could charge it to our Grand Hyatt Room!

Great light dinner

By David N |

We dined here on Friday night, 6/16/2017 during "Happy Hour" We had a great beer, a lovely wine and our waitress found us some Short Rib Sliders which satisfied us and allowed my spouse to stay "wheat free" Several large groups were there, but didn't not create a problem for us to be able to talk to each other at our table Great atmosphere, lovely decor I'd go there again!

fresh local fare

By Adam F |

fresh fresh local fish, meats from western washington, alaska, oregon. paired with local washington and oregon wines and you have a friendly hotel restaurant with a small bar to handle even the most discerning traveler. prices are a bit heavy.

Nice and relaxed

By Deanvz |

Had the grab cakes, slightly too much salt in the sauce, but was nice and crispy and hearty starter portion. Apples on top of the mushroom risotto was quite out of place, but a good al dente cheesy risotto. Service was attentive and friendly.

Delicious, fresh food served with a smile

By Alice W |

Enjoyed fresh and tasty salad with grilled salmon fillet. Not on the menu but they let me add salmon to a standard salad. Great food, lovely service at a reasonable price.

Lovely "Happy Hour" munchies!

By David N |

We had a light "Happy Hour Dinner" here on Friday, June 16, 2017 We walked the short half block to Urbane from the Paramount Hotel and found out it was "Happy Hour". We went with drinks and appetizers and it was quite sufficient for us for the night! Our waitress found us a way for my spouse to stay "wheat free" and brought us some Short Rib "Sliders"! They were delicious! We had enough room to share a lovely dessert as well! Even though it is very open and obviously a bar we were able to have a conversation while several people were there for a wedding or some other family gathering. We'd go to Urbane again!

Wonderful breakfast!

By Joyce S |

Breakfast was fresh, wonderfully prepared, and tastefully presented. The only downside was the price, which was about twice what I would ordinarily have paid for the meal.

Only had breakfast but would not hesitate to go again.

By williamsm |

Had breakfast at Urbane because the Grand Hyatt does not have a restaurant(?). The food was excellent and service was quick and friendly. Nice, modern setting with plenty of window seats for people watching.

Could be so much better

By Karen D |

Went here after seeing Hamilton at the Paramount, it was the only place in the area that had reservations still available, now I know why. The waitress was kind and polite. We were the first ones in the restaurant because we were there when they opened at 5. Placed our drink and appetizer order and both those came within a reasonable about of time. However, we placed our dinner orders and we waited well over an hour, almost hour 1/2 before we were served. Then some of us received our meals while others still waited another 10 minutes. The food came out luke warm, like it had been sitting under heating elements for much too long. We had a party of 7 and we each ordered something different. I was told the chicken and duck were ok, the risotto was bland, the pork tenderloin had certainly sat much too long (this was the friend who's meal was served last) another friend had the frites and another the burger. They said it was ok, but not great. I had the filet, I ordered it medium and it came well done, even the broccolini tasted slightly burned and the mashed potatoes were flavorless. The location of this restaurant is perfect and the price was average. However, the food and time for service was terrible. I asked for the manager to come out so we could discuss, he did apologize and comped a bottle of wine and the tenderloin dinner. Definitely will not be in my list of restaurant rotations.

Great food and beer

By Paul B |

This is a nice restaurant with great tasting food and a good selection of locally brewed beers. The dungeonis cab poached egg breakfast was excellent. Meal prices tend to be on the expensive side as are many restaurants in Seattle.

Happy Hour Rocks!

By SoCalValleyGirl |

Happy hour is apparently a big thing in Seattle which makes sense as it's home to so many successful companies employing a smart, young and enthusiastic folks. As a traveler, happy hours make me a little nervous. Have no fear, Urbane is here. Great pricing, yummy treats and a comfortable atmosphere. It rocks!

Delicious

By Robert M |

When we arrived that evening at the Hyatt 8, we dined at the Urbane Restaurant. My daughter and son-in-law enjoyed the fine selection of drinks available. We all enjoyed the food. The meat and fish were cooked to perfection. The vegetables were fresh and tasty. And our waitress was special and made sure our small grandchildren enjoyed their macaroni and cheese with coloring place-mats on the side. A fine start to a great vacation in Seattle.

Not the standard hotel restaurant.

By Im_a_travlin_fool |

A high quality of breakfast experience at the restaurant and a nice non-hotel feel with a creative menu. A nice change and the staff are also attentive.

Great central Oxford apartment

By golfoscar1 |

Ultra-chic modern and an excellent location. Being in the City Centre, I could walk everywhere within 10 minutes. It had a nice contemporary finish. Definitely one to consider.

Great spot close to Paramount Theatre

By deebk |

We attended a matinee and we looking for a restaurant close to the theatre. This was an excellent choice!! Our kids ages 15 and 19 also enjoyed it!

Good Breakfast

By radx4 |

We grabbed a quick breakfast at Urbane while staying at the Hyatt at Olive8. It was a good breakfast if a bit pricey. I had some eggs that were nicely prepared. My wife had some tasty french toast. Oddly, the eggs were cheaper as a side dish than if they were ordered seaparately. I'm not sure why this is the case since it's literally the exact same dish. Nonetheless, we saved $4 by ordering it as a side. Overall, Urbane is a good choice for a quick breakfast.

Breakfast

By R F |

Breakfast is always fabulous here. My kids love the pancakes! The service is consistently great and they are attentive to my children's food allergies.

Food was served cold..

By Grace C |

My bf and I ate there just last night (on a Sunday @ ~9pm). We ordered wings, crab cakes, and the beef burger along with 2 orders Moscow mule. My bf and I were super hungry because we drove all day.... So when our food came my bf complained it to me it wasn't even served warm but I told him to just eat it. Staff just stood around and talked. Mind you, it wasn't busy at all. I was like whatever we can tip 10% since the food/drinks werent great and the staff didn't seem like they wanted to be there.. but nope! It was only my bf and I and we were charged with "service charge" of 20%.. which they so did not deserve. We were tired and left. I would definitely not go back again.

Great food TERRIBLE service

By SammieA |

In a nutshell, the food is good but the service is diabolical. We waited 35 minutes from ordering (2 adults and 2 young children) for our food to arrive. Our waiter was appalling. He didn’t smile once and to be honest, working seemed to be a huge inconvenience for him. He brought us our bill when we were still eating, even though my husband wanted to order a coffee at the end. To add insult to injury there was a mandatory 20% service charge added to our bill. I was appalled by this, given the fact that we’d practically been ignored for the duration of our meal.

Excellent

By Michael D |

It was our last night in Seattle and after walking all day we decided to stay close to the hotel and eat at Urbane. Our server Nicole was terrific. I have some diet restrictions and before I let her know, she asked. She was very helpful and attentive. The food was very good and I highly recommend this place.

Such Potential...

By DeanfromSeattle |

What others have said - we went because the location is so convenient to Paramount. The food is good. Service was mediocre but not terrible - Allen, our server, had a habit of asking questions - "everything okay?", "are you finished?" and walking away before we answered. I focused on service, since it has been flagged negatively on so many reviews, and it was timely and not bad. We had tasty soups, good crab cakes, good fish and chips with unique seasoned fries, and shared an ice cream dessert. All worth trying out. Again, because of reviews, I knew that the 20% mandatory gratuity would be coming. I'm not a fan, but they ARE up front about it and tell you that gratuity is included (it shows on the detailed bill but the credit card charge slip doesn't say anything and has a line for gratuity so it's easy to double pay). What I found to be unacceptable is how the tip is administered. When I asked about it at the desk, they said "I'm sorry, we don't set the policy". The bill shows the subtotal, then the Service Charge, then the tax. THEY CHARGE TAX ON THE TIP!! Ironically, this could be better than many restaurants that incorrectly suggest or charge tips on the post-tax amount, but that's a different debate. Since the desk people wouldn't give me any names of people to contact at the restaurant, I'm curious if they read reviews and if they wish to comment on mine.

Late night wine and appetizers

By Tara R |

We arrived late after a flight from the East Coast and headed straight to Urbane in the Hyatt at Oive 8. The staff made a great Pinot Noir suggestion and the appetizer were half price. Food was delicious and nicely presented even at the late hour.

liked the decor and atmosphere. The staff is also very pleasant. The food is average tasting, some unusual choices and very overpriced

Good local, fresh food

By Jessica A |

We stayed at the Hyatt Olive 8 and ate here several times. Once a late night snack, once for breakfast and once for a drink before heading up. The food was pretty good and they asked up front if we had any food restrictions; they substituted some delicious sauteed veggies in place of something I couldn't have, probably potato. Had a decent wine selection. It was just good and convenient for us.

Brunch good but plain

By RALPH M |

Attractive clean restaurant. He had buttermilk pancakes, crispy with soft center yet plain tasting. I had the spring salad with goat cheese, almonds, & strawberries. good but wilted leaves due probably to the kitchen dressing it too soon

Suberb in every way

By Stewsview |

We were given a table at the front of the restaurant amidst Chagall art, very private and spacious. The server was intelligent, freindly, professional and efficient. The salads were fresh and delicious, and the mains were as well - and perfectly prepared and presented. This would be our first choice restaurant when we return to Seatlle. 'Wish it were located in our city!

Best food in Seattle!

By AJCC1 |

This place has the best food in Seattle! The caramel apple French toast on brioche bread is exquisite! The poutine is definitely top 3 that I have had and that is including the ones from Montréal. They use fresh cheese curds from beeches which are delicious! The Mac and cheese is great as well. The staff is phenomenal! David and Carson were fabulous! I ate here everyday during my stay in Seattle. You should also try their some of their homemade infused alcohol.

Good food but service can be improved

By atan48842 |

My review is for the breakfast time only. The breakfast selections are ample. The price is reasonable for a downtown hotel restaurant. The food tastes good, but the speed of service & food can be improved. We ate breakfast at Urbane twice and the average wait time for the food after ordering was 20 minutes or longer.

Not on my weekend favs rotation

By Kwan G |

This visit was a first time visit for me and was to celebrate our wedding anniversary. So I had high expectations. Urbane is nicely decorated. Modern, interesting light fixtures and overall a lovely place. It is downtown but there is plenty of public parking around the restaurant. So you ask why am I starting with the decor and parking well because I have to say the food did not meet our expectations. My mussel starter was very good and if I had realized my main was not going to be as exciting I would have just had the mussels with a salad. My husband had the Pork Belly starter. That was a bit disappointing. It had really great flavor infused in the pork belly but the cook on it was like jello. As we know a beautifully cooked pork belly should have a beautiful sear. While, the infused pork belly tasted good, flavor wise, it was like eating jello. Completely off putting. Most importantly my husband never turns away good pork belly but this one he did. Tried to give it to me. I couldn't even enjoy it as it was. My main was Tea Smoked Duck Breast. The infused duck breast was very nice but the cook, again, on it was not right. Duck breast, for me, should be a rare cook(pink in the middle) and this was way over cooked. Should have a good sear on the skin side...nope. Over...well over done...! And with this dish you really don't need the noodles. The duck and veggies should say enough. My husband had Steak Frites...the steak was chewy. And he swears the frites were pre made, frozen, and not freshly cut and cooked. Hummmmm! This will not be on our weekend fav rotation. Sorry.

Just a 2 star.

We picked the Urbane as it was within walking distance of the Paramount. Went a bit early, and a good thing as it took an hour to get our order. I thought we might have to skip lunch to make our show. And this during a Sunday AM brunch spot which I thought should be well staffed. With only average food, it gets a 2 star from me.

Brunch on Father's day

By LanCReviews |

We were in Seattle for an Alaska cruise and came here for brunch. We were a party of 5. Everything each of us ordered was excellent. The Dungeness crab egg Benedict was delicious. So were the French toast, oatmeal, salmon salad and pancake. Staff was very helpful and friendly as well. Highly recommend. The setting was bright and airy and there was the New York Times to read as well. Pricey.

Seahawks opener

I'm not sure if it's just our luck or if restaurants in downtown just have bad service. Food was great, awesome breakfast menu, staff is friendly but slow especially for a game day and this is the hotel where the teams stay. Be prepared for a 20% automatic gratuity on your tab..maybe this is why they can get away with slow service

A Great Place for Lunch

We came to the Urbane during a tour of the downtown Seattle area. The restaurant is in a busy location, but was not overly busy. The restaurant itself is low key, with normal table service equivalent to a Denny's. However, tables are set off with area dividers, allowing for group privacy. The food was quite good, moderately priced, and the service was friendly and responsive. I see this as a restaurant that could rapidly become a working local's favorite lunchtime getaway.

Service poor

We arrived in time for dinner, important for my hungry vegetarian children. 25 minutes later a waitress swooped in and swooped up our menus, announcing that they would no longer be serving supper, just the bar food menu. 25 minutes later, my kids still hadn't gotten their French Fries, about the only appetizing vegetarian item on the menu. Disgusted, I went to my room. The restaurant should know they're going to get a rush after Seahawk games and staff accordingly. The opposing team is staying here, for crying out loud!

Great brunch!

Check out the Dungeness Crab Benedict in the brunch menu. You won't regret it! The restaurant is great for a business lunch or a romantic dinner in the hubbub of Seattle.

Lunch while staying at Hyatt at Olive 8

By magicconnch |

While staying at the Hyatt at Olive 8 after a fun night on NYE, we decided to forgo heading out into the cold harsh Seattle weather, alright I'm joking.. We really just didn't want to go out quite yet, so we decided to order from the Urbane seeing how it was in our Hotel. Based on our timing we were ordering off of the Lunch menu, which features a number of sandwiches, and a few specialty items. We were asked how we wanted the burgers prepared, I opted for medium, while my partner opted for well, both came out well which isn't a huge deal, the burger was still juicy. The garlic aioli was a great addition, as was the pretzel bun. The fries were great as well, I know it seems small, but often times fries are soggy, wet, etc, but not these. We ordered to our room, so I can't speak on how the service was in the actual restaurant, but they were prompt in preparing my food, and the hostess was nice as I picked it up. The menu overall is a bit on the pricier side, I enjoyed the burger don't get me wrong, but for almost $20, I would have expected a lot more. To be honest I probably would not eat here unless I was staying at the Hyatt at Olive 8 again.

Overpriced and not much ambience

By Mats G |

This restaurant is attached to Hyatt at Olive 8. Service was slow for us and pricing was fairly high. We were surprised to find out that a 20% service charge was added automatically to the bill. But seems to be common in Seattle. The cappuccino was horrible. Mainly milk, and this is supposed to be the capital of great coffee.

Elegant Breakfast

My daughter and I were in Seattle on her Spring Break and it turned into a Foodie Trip, looking for Foods we'd never had before. For a weekend brunch we tried the crab omelette - heavenly big chunks of local fresh crab! And the French toast had popcorn on it! That was new! I subbed fruit for the toast, and it was very nicely done - no cheap melon!
