An Amazing Duck Plate that lasted for 3 meals!

By alkeni |

This duck plate was totally unexpected. I was in the food court trying to make a decision on what to eat. The Chinese restaurant there had a picture of the duck plate with about 5-6 pieces of duck. When I received the order, there must have been the whole duck along with rice and veggies. She asked me if I wanted the head of the duck and I say no. It ended up being 3 more meals. What a bargain for $11.00 and that includes tax!

Great variety

By mabinho |

Alongside the Uwajima supermarket, the food court, offers a wide range of Asian cuisine, with a shared central dining area. So if you and your friends have different preferences, you can still dine together.

Fun visit to China town

By 434leilac |

This market was fun to explore if your a foodie and like bizarre foods! I loved looking at their items I normally don't see in Cali. The had Uni and roe in packages. Delicious guava cake and taro root cheesecake. I missed the roasted duck in the food court but their chicken and roasted pork was just as good! I wish I had a bigger appetite to try more!

Uwajimaya

By D Y |

I live in Hawaii where there are tons of these Japanese type of stores that sell knick knacks. This store was very good in the breadth and depth of its goods. I found things here I could not find in Hawaii. As for the prepared/cooked foods? Excellent variety, though I could not attest to the taste of most of them because I only bought roast pork and duck -- good prices!

Food Court

By revsteve |

I eat here two or three times a month. They have several kinds of Chinese food and some deserts as well. They have parking there as well, In lunch time it is very busy as well as Saturday....

Decent variety and prices, not the best

Lunch and shopping

By yeeteacher |

We had lunch in the food court and there were many choices and reasonable prices... This place is with walking distance of the train station. We also went shopping for essentials and prices were good. One treat is that they have a deli with food to take out and you could gather more food for a to go lunch/ dinner for the next day or later that day. Fresh fruits and vegetables also.

Great Authentic Place

By Neta_Avivi |

Wonderful place with many Asian food options. There are many stalls each one offers a different type of food (like sushi, dumplings etc). Located within a huge Japanese supermarket - a great experience.

Good Authentic Food

By James D |

Been there many times. I can usually find something I want. Good place to taste foods from other countries.

Great addition to the supermarket

By F S |

The food court is a nice extension to the supermarket beside. It has a variety of cuisines to choose from and is also reasonably priced. You can also validate your parking ticket with a purchase from either the food court or the grocery itself.

Lots of good food

By rogerjm |

I've been here twice recently and food is plentiful and good. Today it was Sweet and Sour Pork and Orange Chicken. Both were really good. The check pieces were large and real. If you're in the International District and looking for good food for lunch, this is the place.

great market with 8-10 unique food stalls in a food court in the back

By xyliafanta |

We went there with a group of 14 and the food court option was great. open seating everywhere but you could get your exact cuisine from fresh roasted duck (with the head), pork belly, thai soup, pho (Vietnamese), sushi, kongee, paid thai. Then the grocery store had tons of asian trinkets/ceramic dishes/chopsticks, plus cool candy, produce, beer, drinks, etc. definitely a place to check and other shops/boutiques nearby to people watch.small chinatown but still nice.

Excellent Asian, Hawaiian food

By Minnie |

This place has 6 restaurants ranging from American, Asian, Hawaiian and a small store! My favorite is Saigon bistro when I get Vietnamese sandwiches or Pho

Good place for lunch

By Alec D |

Uwajimaya Village Food Court is a good place for lunch if you're in the International District and don't want to take the time to go to a restaurant.

Great food court

By Kyong L |

We were shopping at the bookstore and this food court was right outside and convenient. We ordered a bunch of things from a variety of vendors. Stuffed cream balls were yummy, and we ordered sushi rolls as well as Japanese snow balls. All were good. Prices are a bit higher than other food courts but very convenient location.

Lots of Asian Food Choices

By Turnkey56 |

Stopped in here for lunch and tried the Korean barbecue. It was very good. Others tried different foods as there are quite a variety. You can't really go wrong.

Little Japan in Seattle

By glorifiber |

Fun place to eat authentic Asian food and snacks. Parking is a bit expensive, but it's worth it. Don't forget to walk across to go to Daiso store while visiting the area.

Lots Of Choices & Great Prices!

By misopiso88 |

If you are looking for Asian food at reasonable prices, Uwajimaya Food Court in the International District is a great choice! Everything from Peking Duck to BiBimBap. Highly recommend.

Asian food court

By axs666 |

The Uwajimaya food court offers up a nice variety of quick Asian food joints. Pro tip - this place gets super busy during lunch times, be prepared. The ambiance is not much to speak of, the overall vibe is kinda hole-in-the-wall. On average, the food joints are of average quality and price. Most seating is in a communal dining room in the middle of the court amongst the restaurants. You can find Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Hawaiian, etc here. An interesting location for work lunch.

Money well spent

By jdweller |

I go to uwajimaya village at least once a " month. They have the supermarket/novelty in one section and a small number of places you can get a bite to eat. They korean food ay one place and although you do not get huge potions its enough to satisfy i recommend the pork bugugi here. The next is the uwajimaya kitchen i guess i would call it where they have a variety of different meats and sides chinese food basically. I recommend the mongolian beef here. And lastly the thai place. I always order the thai basil here. Those are the places i have eaten at. There are still a few more i have not tried. If you like asian foods and dishes this is a nice place to go and get your shopping taking care if at the same time.

Great place to buy food.

By SaW43 |

The food court and store are great for both getting prepared food and food to cook. The fish, meat and produce are very fresh and the selection is enormous. There is also a section selling houseware and an adjacent bookstore. Fun to look and browse.

Taste of Asia

By Demetrio T |

Uwajimaya Food Court is a great place with a plethora of individual restaurants that can satisfy your taste for almost every Asian type of dish you may crave. With everything from sushi to entrees to desserts, this place is a heaven for anyone wanting to chow down.

Travel to Asia for a couple of minutes...

By gunillast |

When you enter the doors it is as if you travel to Asia. The food, the people, the atmosphere, everything! Lovely food of course and lots of food and other merchandise. Highly recommend!

OK Food but not quite the level of the Uwajimaya supermarket

By Semibum |

The food court has decent food. Somehow I was a little disappointed however. The Uwajimaya store offers such a fabulous shopping experience that I expected a similar experience in the food court. To be sure, the food was good, but not much different from what you can have in many or most similar places.

clean

By Willeung |

This is a fairly clean Asian grocery store but their prices are a little higher than the rest of the other stores

Lots of Choices

By Tall66 |

We have been here many times but I rarely eat from Uwajimaya's own buffet. Tasty but nothing out of the ordinary and not something I would go out of my way to eat. Many other restaurants in the food court that I think are much better.

Nice Mix of Pan Asian food with a Market in the back

By evac93rd |

We were downtown and needed lunch choose the deli which was straight Cantonese. The price were great, the portions were massive and the whole place was spotless.

Buzzing hive of tasty Asian food choices

By Hellosteph111 |

Cheap, wonderful dim sum along with a variety of other Asian choices. This food court is always buzzing--office workers, kids on field trips, International District grandmas and grandpas. I usually get a generously portioned hum bao from the Yummy House outpost. Sweet and savory for $1.20. Uwajimaya grocery store has gazillions of items...more types of rice sticks than you ever knew existed. A great place to get a feel for Seattle's international district vibe. BTW, the book store has amazing disposal fountain pens. Bonus!

Asian food

By Jd1914 |

I went to the wuajimalja food court, I felt like a kid in a candy store. I love all kinds of Asian food. And you can find them all at the food court, hawaiian, Korean, Chinese, Philippine, Thai, Japanese, I decided to go for a Korean mixed BBQ plate. What a delight! After I ate, I went inside the supermarket, they have all kinds of meat and vegetables and everything Asian. For a moment I tough I was in Korea or Shanghai. I bought me some packaged smoke salmon and a pound of roast pork. ( slow roasted belly pork meat) the best tasting meat you will ever had. My number one stop every time I am in Seattle.

good stop before you shop

By Jeff W |

This can be a real money saver..never shop hungry.... There are a lot of very affordable places to eat in this food court. It is a great place to grab something to eat before or after a little shopping spree at the Uwajimaya Market and they apply meal purchase to your parking cost ...what a deal!!!

Great selection of oriental fast food.

By JohntheFoneMan |

Quick service, but finding a table to sit at can be a problem at times due to limited space. We also liked the grocery store and other shops in the building.

nice Asisan market place

By flaneur99 |

Several choices of hot foods for decent prices are available here. A couple dessert places as well. Bear papa's and others. Interesting little place to have a meal and people watch.

Pre-soccer match regular

By Hollyrik |

We stop by here fairly often during soccer season. There is a wide variety of choices, reasonably priced, and can be supplemented from the adjacent grocery store if you want a particular drink or some sushi for example. Sure its noisy, and the seating is in a busy passageway, but the portions are typically generous and well prepared.

Eatable but not good.

By Ontheroadagian |

Some of the worst Chinese food we’ve ever had. Very little taste. We left the farmers market to come to China town to eat. We wish we had stayed in the market areas to eat.

Variety, with Freshness and Skill

By golfkat |

Where else can you get a great piece of black cod, done to perfection, along with a wide variety of sushi and other Asian delicacies? I wish I could eat here every day!

Order something simple and fast

By TravelLily007 |

We had lunch at the small Korean place. Couple of tables and a few seats at the counter. One dish was good but the other just ok. Took a while for the food to come. Price paid approaching restaurant prices. If there is a next time, we probably will order something quick.

All the fun and delicious things

By Akfiregirl77 |

The food court at Uwajimaya is just amazing! There are little restaurant pods located in the building that range from udon noodles, Chinese food options, island style fare and even amazing crepes! If you have a few people dining and no one can decide on where to go this is the place! It is well lit and very clean. One of my favorite places to stop whenm I am in the area!

Be selective

By Margaret B |

Wide variety of food, much of it excellent. Be selective and get what you're sure you'll like. Some food stands are better than others.

I do all my Asian grocery shopping here - great selection of food and more importantly, SAKE'!

mini trip to Asia

By Marion F |

I loved this place, I'm always looking to try new Asian foods and not spend a lot and this is a great place to do both. not only is there prepared food but the market also me to try what is available to buy in frozen/ dry versions that I can make at home. its a must visit for people who like to cook from around the world

GOOD ASIAN FOOD COURT IN A GROCERY STORE

By ArizonaOn-the-go |

We ate here while in Seattle. UWAJIMA is a food court. It had thai, korean, vietnamese, and Japanese. Also, there was a large oriental grocery store. When you're using your all dat pass to MAX street car stationr, get off at CHINATOWN. it is across from the exit. It is a chain grocery store, so make sure you go to the CHINATOW one. I had KALBI RIBS (Korean). For dessert, was what I saw in Japan, a pastry which she stuffed with a cream center. Go into the grocery store. It is very interesting. Toward the end of the firsr row was what look like a huge fish tank and alot of interesting fish. I finally realized (as it was in the meat dept.) that you point to the fish you want and they net and clean it. They had alot of JAPANESE BENTO BOXE (all kinds of lunches) We bought a couple the day we took Amtrak down to Portland--another adventure. The amtrac train station is down the street. Look for a cloak tower like BIG BEN.

Varieties of Asian Selection

By ThreeLi |

Uwajimaya is the great place to shop for Asian food and items. It has imported food from Japan and China which are pretty good. You should definitely try the different flavors of Pocky. And it has a food court full of Asian Cuisines and a bookstore with plenty of imported books.

great variety of food

By jack m |

Adjacent to the supermarket, lots of cheap and nice instant fast food here, free parking for certain amount of purchase in the market. Part supermarket, part food court, part bookstore, part gift shop....The food court was great for my family. all of us could easily find something we wanted to eat. It was really packed on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, so we had to wait a while to get seats together. They have a Beard Papa, so that's a definite plus. I like to go down for a lunch or dinner once in a while if in chinatown area , to get some Spam sashimi or another exotic food for lunch, and just feel the difference in culture.

Decent food attached to a great market

By Johann8431 |

Most of the food here is good, and it is a food court, so you have a lot of variety. The prices are really good, although the atmosphere isn't the absolute best. Some of the "dessert" restaurants close before the rest of them do, which was unfortunate, because they lost several customers. Shilla, Thai Place, and Saigon Bistro were the highlights of our visit.

great choices!

By CherylBoudreau |

Lots to choose from. Food is always consistent, hot and good. great lunch spot - quick in and out. seems to be cleaner than you would expect from a food court environment. seating could be better.

Good Ramen

By Empearl |

This was a good place to get an inexpensive and delicious bowl of ramen! There were lots of different options and all looked great!

Food coma !

By MLAbug |

Came by after getting off the Amtrak train - this is the place to go especially when hungry and dollar pinching ! I wanted something easy to try and stopped at the TAkO stall - they sell little fluffy balls of octopus meat - Japanese delicacy - yummy and filling ! If you're not that adventurous - he will sell you two pieces for $3.00 - well worth it and give it a try ! Love the food court - from Thai, to Hawaiian, Japanese to Chinese meals ! Plus dessert of Beard papa ! Must stop to eat !

OMG So Busy!!

By Olowalu_Life |

Came by New Years Eve and HOLY so busy!! Great selection of food, groceries and gifts. Great take out sushi and hot deli foods. Nice food court, it seemed but I never had a chance to eat at. Attached to Uwajimaya is Kinokuniya a book store. Has a great selection of Japanese books, magazines, gifts and stationaries. The crowd was overwhelming but overall, neat market and book store!

Great place for lunch or getting some food to take out.

By Alec D |

There is a wide variety of Asian cuisine to choose from at the food court. Try the sushi. The portions are generous and delicious.

Chinese, among a wide variety of international food

By Havefunwilltravel816 |

"Chinese, among a wide variety of international food" On a weekday mid-morning there one can window shop in the Food Court, and of course in the Food Store itself. This latter does sell some packaged precooked foods for meals, like sushi. I made the mistake of listening to my stomach, and in passing up the specialty international food concessions -- like the Hawaiian or Viet ones -- went for the main buffet line that belongs to Uwajimaya Store itself. Its prices for a plate lunch are reasonable, and for quantity. The Jumbo Combo costs the most, $7.95, and already comes with fried rice and noodles, to which you choose two entrees. There are a lot of chicken dishes. At that hour of 10:50 AM, however, the rice dish, and the noodles too, were left over from last night -- dry, and not tasty. The Beef Broccoli did have lots of beef strips in it; the Kung Pao Chicken was so-so, not spicy, nor with any amount of chicken to brag about -- therefore, indistinguishable. I think it is best to treat the Uwajimaya buffet as simply the "Chinese food" concession -- just one of the choices -- and with eyes wide open, consider it as a kitchen that cooks in quantity, for the masses, and out of sight. The other concessions would conform to the cliches: "cook to order", cook while you wait, watch them cook your order, etc. For the bit of price difference... well, enjoy not only consuming, but choosing! It is nice to eat!

Great food court for Asian food

By Paul T |

Since we were in uwajimaya and there was a food court we decided to try the food. One of our family members speaks Korean and was stationed in Korea so I decided to try Shilla Korean BBQ. This was not your typical Korean BBQ stand with Americanized food. He recommended the beef dumpling stew and it sounded good to me. The broth was very tasty with BBQ beef and stuffed pork dumplings. There were also three different types of noodles in the dish and one I didn't recognize. Next time I visit a Korean restaurant I'm going to look for this dish.

Painting course

By Nancy |

The place has a supermarket, food court and a restaurant to the side named boiling point which is delicious.

Large selection of Asian food!

By USN_Seabee_Wife |

If you're looking for a grocery store that has anything and everything... then this is the place. You can even get your meal cooked for you from one of the many food shops located at the front entrance.

Like an Asian "Trader Joes"

By Paul O |

Our tour group stopped off at this "local gem" prior to boarding our flight to Hawaii. What a find! Although we just picked up sushi, bento and other treats to go, you could tell this was the mecca for fresh seafood and Asian items of all kind. On my next visit to Seattle, this will definitely be one of my stops.

A lot of food!

By Scott M |

We always enjoy stopping at Uwajimaya when near the International District in Seattle. Yesterday we decided to also have lunch at the Food Court. We ate at the Uwajimaya Buffet (very similar to a Panda Express, but oh so much better). The proportions were huge. Both my wife and I couldn't finish. The food was hot and even more important the chicken portions (General Tsos), were huge and all white meat. The Sweat and Sour pork was the same. Needless to say we left with enough to also have for dinner. Cheers and happy eating.

Lots to choose some good some bad.

By R0add0g |

Check out all the restaurants before you settle on one. The buffet is IFFY, make good decisions. Beard Papa is always a hit if you love cream puffs

The Holy Grail of Reasonably Priced Asian Food

By John W |

This is one of my favourite places to go when I visit Seattle. So many delicious choices at a low price!

Great budget options

By Kitgordo |

Our whole family was pleased at the food options here- roast duck, hawaiian spam masubi, other hawaiian dishes, orange chicken, vegetarian fried rice, all manner of Chinese stir fry dishes, sesame rice balls, thai food, fresh filled cream puffs with vanilla cream or green tea cream... Delightful and easy dining on a cold rainy Seattle day.

A nice place for asian food

By Janne K |

This and the Bellevue stores seem like nice places to visit for getting asian food. One in Seattle also has a rather nice selection of restaurants in case you become hungry while shopping.

If You Like Asian Food, Do Not Miss This

By FlaHockeyFan |

The food court inside the same building as the supermarket and features Chinese, Japanese, Noodles, Sushi, Vietnamese, Korean, and several other kiosks. I had a vietnamese sandwich with pho broth and my wife had a soba noodle dish with tofu that she enjoyed. If I lived in Seattle, I would eat here regularly, what a treat!

Great selection but not cheap

By anaest |

The selection of Japanese and other Asian food, grocery, seafood etc is impressive. We bought quite a lot as we have a kitchen at our hotel. There are also various cooked food just outside the supermarket plus a Japanese bookstore.

Cheap, decent food. Don't expect anything else.

By Charley |

Not bad for a food court in a grocery store. Definitely the fastest/best way to get food if you're going to the Amtrak station. There's a walkway over the tracks that goes straight to Uwajimaya from the station.

Great variety

By Steve M |

Great number of choices form multiple vendors...but they change and therefore what was outstanding may have changed to something less. Great variety of choices and without doubt, the majority are tasty when fresh made.

Yummy!

By Amy N |

Lots of choices and everything we got was delicious! We were scolded for taking photos though. There was a very diverse and big selection of Asian foods and some cool looking desert in a giant ice cream cone looking thing.

This is where I bought a Hello Kitty toaster !

By Kimberly S |

This is a fantastic immersion into Japanese culture, even for the 30 to 60 minutes browsing. So much fun. It was a weekly visit when I lived there. And don't forget the adjacent Japanese bookstore...gorgeous !

Everything you could ever want

By supergirl717 |

This place is incredible!!! I had the takoyaki and besides it's making being fascinating and mesmerizing it was also good :) The supermarket has everything and more and the book store is fabulous!! I could spend hours gazing at the fun stickers and notebooks and tiny office supplies I can't afford..... Worth a visit!

Worth your time

By Paul L |

Get off of the beaten path just a bit. Authentic Asian food, hot and made right. You can do some shopping first, every kind of seafood that you can think of. What a great place, I go almost every time I am in Seattle . The food court is awesome and packed full of people at lunch so you know it has to be great.

Not much selection

By KarenMooreKerr |

I'm just not wild about the food that they serve, although it's obvious that a lot of other people enjoy it, because they're always busy.

Duck!

By Dan P |

When in the international district, do as the internationals do. This line of restaurants can sate your ring of fire cravings. Thai, veit, Hawaiian, cream puff? You name it, they got it. Inexpensive for the area. Take time to browse the grocery/book/ trinket store while your there. Awesome.

Food court gem

By Norma M |

At the entrance to Uwajimaya grocery extravaganza there are 8-10 food court-style vendors. They are providing a huge variety of oriental foods , and you can see a huge diversity of people enjoying these foods. We had planned on getting an egg roll or something snacky but after seeing the options, wonderful smells, and the great prices we decided to get a Waji Jumbo Combo --- two entries and two sides of your choice for $9.95. We could hardly finish ours. Seating is rather limited. Keep your receipt as on the bottom is your restroom code or just wait until someone exits.

An amazing Asian market

By MikeGPortland |

It makes ours here in PDX (Fubonn, which is good) look like a bodega! An amazing array of prepared foods, sakes, veggies, bakery (get the coconut cream puff and red bean bun), fish, etc.

Good but not best.

By Barbara S |

An interesting food experience. Market has many Japanese and generic "Asian" items. Food court pretty much like every other food court in any Mall with the exception that all the food has an Asian influence. Korean BBQ was good, cafeteria style similar to "Panda Express" was OK. Unfortunately we had recently visited, shopped and had lunch at Umajimay's Bellevue store. Parking, food, market, cleanliness of store and bathrooms, helpfulness of employees and just about every other aspect are like night and day between Seattle and Bellevue. If at all possible go to Bellevue. It is worth the extra time.

As food courts go...it's clean, comfortable

By MK330 |

I've tried their Chinese 'buffet-style' lunch and Vietnamese noodles. OK...a bit expensive compared to what you can get in any of the other restaurants outside (but then you have to tip in a restaurant). Food court is clean (so is the bathroom, so it's a plus). There is also a bakery (which is also on the expensive side). I would get the Chinese roast meats in Chinatown and not here. the best part of this food court is that it's adjacent to the bookstore and the supermarket, so you don't even have to step outside and can easily spend an afternoon here!

Nice find - small Asian food court– 3.25 out of 5 rating

By Bottomshelfhockey |

My plan was to visit Chinatown and have lunch there as we haven’t been to downtown Seattle in years. We just happened to walk into this building complex and surprised to find this food court in the International District. The food court is part of the Uwajimaya complex that also has a book store and the supermarket with the same name. It’s an interesting food court with about 10 fast food outlets including Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai and to my surprise a Hawaiian outlet, Aloha Plates serving comfort food such as loco moco. We were there around 12:30 and the small food court was busy. My spouse ordered from Noodle Zen and I ordered some Japanese food from the Uwajimaya supermarket take out section. I would rate the overall food experience as above average. Having said that you are eating fast food so depending on where and what you eat, “your mileage will vary”. I rate this experience as above average at 3.25 out of 5. Notes & Tips • There is limited seating available in the food court. If you get there before the lunch or dinner “rush hour”, you shouldn’t have trouble getting a seat. • Washroom requires a code to enter. The code is on your receipt. • We arrived via the cruise ship Celebrity Infinity and docked less than a mile from the Pike Street Market. We visited the Pike Street Market and Pioneer Square to get to the University District / Chinatown. Also close by is Century Link Field home of the Seattle Seahawks. • See my reviews of Zen Noodle and Uwajimaya supermarket takeout.
