This is definitely a hidden gem in my neighborhood. I totally forgot about it, but thank goodness I passed it on my way to the park and stop to get some yummy food 🥘 I definitely recommend this place to everyone who visiting the neighborhood of Williamsburg Brooklyn.

Not as busy as its sister store in china town however pretty much the same! It could be cleaned while the (spare) cashier is standing at the counter doing absolutely nothing! The sesame pancake was a bit hard (I've visited the china town location at least 50 times and I've never been disappointed) this location is a bit blahhh... However it hit the spot for a quick bite!

The dumplings are fresh and hot and delicious. Good variety. My lychee slush was also good. Will definitely recommend this place to my friends.

Travelling with teens who are dumpling addicts. They dined at Vanessa's twice. Great food great price

The food is decent. Ingredients are fresh, tasty, etc. However, I would not say it was the best dumpling I had in NYC. The dumpling dough is a little too thick, which makes it a bit heavier than others I had tried. I was unlucky to get some very (very!) salty fried noodles, which I reckon it was just a slip-up with the soy sauce/salt. My girlfriend's one had a regular salt level, looked lighter in color and tasted better. I could have asked to change, but I was already too full with the dumplings, so didn't bother. Price-wise it's fine, but I cannot say it's the cheapest option for what you get, as in Chinatown you can get really amazing dumplings and noodles, in huge portions, for much lower prices. Of course, in Williamsburg it tends to be a bit more expensive, so we get it.

Lovely dumplings, speedy delivery and everyone left full and satisfied / great value for money whilst travelling

Sure, this isn't the best place if you are looking for a relaxing upscale dinner. This place is very busy at times and you may have to wait for them to make you your fresh food! But the dumplings are fantastic and really affordable! If you are going to Chinatown don't miss this place!

Delicious dumplings, including vegetarian options. They also have homemade noodles, sesame pancake sandwiches and soups. I had an amazing strawberry smoothie for only 3.50!

This place is worth the whole two blocks to get to to get the BEST DUMPLINGS in all of Williamsburg. It is so affordable too. Definitely worth the wait because they are great.

Good spot for fresh made dumplings, soups are good too! Excellent for a quick in and out lunch along the way!

Our daughter took us here because she loves the dumplings. We were shocked that the place is more like a walk-up diner with very little seating. The loads of people inside though speak to the fact that the food is liked and sought after. The dumplings were very good. The sesame pancakes were a surprise in that they were more like sandwiches between thin sesame bread. A first for us, but we did enjoy the new food idea - sesame pancakes.

I love Vanessa's Dumpling House. They are vegetarian friendly and their vegetable dumplings are the best. Their hot and sour soup is great. They have reasonably priced beers. The place is small, noisy and crowded but well worth it. The staff is efficient but not too friendly. They don't have time to be.

We popped out to Williamsburg for a change of scenery and stopped in to Vanessa's after reading a good review online. It was worth the detour for a tasty cheap eat. We had the small chicken and corn soup (which was a generous portion) and 3 chicken and basil fried dumplings, all delish. Worth a stop if you are in the area

I came here tonight after visiting the Manhattan location many times - while the dumplings are great and it is good value the service was not. My order was wrong twice and I complained the second tone to receive a refund ( I’m vegetarian and was just worried if it kept being wrong if accidentally get a meat dumpling) The cashiers and chef were very very rude to me and would not give me a refund as I didn’t have my recipt anymore (they took it from me when I collected my food) I then had a group of people start shouting and humiliating me in the queue behind - it was so awful I had to leave the restraunt. My friend has to speak to the staff. From this experience I would not say cheap dim sum is worth this level of service or to be around such awful and nasty clientele it attracts

I stay up in this restaurant. The menu is simple but the food is consistently good for what they serve. The place can get very crowded, when it is busy it is hard to get a seat. The dumplings are tasty, sesame pancakes and spicy wontons are favorites of mines.

Can't believe I had such a simple but filling nosh up for $5.50! Had the vegetable dumplings and a mango smoothie. 4 dumplings for $2.00. Very tasty and filling. Oh the mango was soooo fresh and reviving on a hot evening. It's popular so you will need to wait in line a bit.

The place is fast, staff is friendly. They have both fried or cooked. Also you can choose different kind of filling. On top of that they offer more than just dumplings. Oh and did I say they are cheap. Not the cheapest but cheap.

Very dependable quality of limited menu, but what they do, they do well. It's a dumpling house, don't expect anything more, but for the price the quantity & quality is very good. The only flaw is their delivery - for some reason they refuse to come to your door and wait for you downstairs in front of your building.

we got takeout here while in town for a wedding. We would have dined in but the wait was horrendous and the place small. As we waited for our food to be prepared, the customers, mostly young, streamed in. Service was not fast, but understandable, considering. Everything we had was pretty good and the value was excellent.

I've been spoiled by the original one in Chinatown. This one is okay but the food just doesn't taste the same.

We were the only virgins in this joint today. Everybody else has been here many times before.... .....as we experienced single men and women eating, they were moaning and grunting in delight. That definitely says something......

Small (and simple furnished) Restaurant in trendy Williamsburg quarter. Food is great (dumplings, soup), there are possibilities to eat in the restaurant or take away.

I love Vanessa’s! Dumplings are fresh and the soups are good too! I recommend if you’re in Brooklyn 👍🏾

Was in the neighborhood and saw the good reviews here. Perfect for lunch. We ordered a bunch of stuff... liked the dumplings the best. The chix sesame sandwiches were a little dry, but tasty. The soup was good. Very good value.

I tried the noodle soup with chicken dumplings.didnt like it.tried the fried vegtables and chicken dumplings and they were nice. The peach ice tea with tapioca was nice.try it

Were staying in the neighbourhood with the whole family and this was one of the best and at the same time cheapest places we've eaten. Had some boiled dumplings and sesame pancake which were delicious.

We got takeaway pork and chicken dumplings, edamame and sesame pancakes with duck. Came to less than 20 dollars and really tasty. Recommended.

Had a quick sit down here on a Sunday evening. Great dumplings but the best value is the chicken noodle soup. A large bowl full of freshness and lots of chicken meat. About $25 for 3 people plus drinks.

Brought a group of hungry pro athletes who each happily found what he wanted for our take-out feast: Pan-fried dumplings, boiled dumplings, sesame pancake sandwiches, thick noodles in sesame sauce, steamed buns, bubble tea, smoothies. Me, too! Yum.

As a vegetarian it's not so easy to find good inexpensive food. This why I like eating at Vanessa's Dumplings. It is tasty. Made on spot. Not expensive. The kitchen looks clean. Service is usually quick.

This place is great for "I don't know what to do for dinner, but I'm feeling lazy" nights. Walk in, order any combination of soups, noodles, sandwiches, etc for veeery cheap prices (considering its location in Williamsburg) and you'll get a quick and tasty meal! I highly recommend the pork noodles, the broth is so flavorful and really delicious, and the pork sandwich (which tasted great, was a good size, and was only $3.50). I recommend this place as a solid back-up for chill nights with unclear lunch or dinner plans.

This place was really busy which is a good sign and I was happy to find 2 veggie options for the homemade dumplings but disappointed that both were made with wheat flour which made for really stodgy and heavy dumplings.

Best chive & pork fried dumplings I have ever had anywhere. Perfect dough cooked to just the right consistency and the filling is so yummy. I love love love the sauce too. The restaurants themselves aren’t very charming but I suppose that’s how they keep the price so low.

Vanessa's has a wide variety of dumplings, either steamed or fried, and you can even buy them frozen to take home. They also have a very interesting "sesame sandwich" with different fillings.

Stooped here on way to niece's apt. to pick up a little something.Large number of choices. All homemade. We tried an assortment of steamed and fried dumplings as well as a ready made wakame salad and hot and sour soup.LOved the dumplings(I prefered the steamed).Salad was nice an fresh and the hot and sour was one of the best I've had and I've tried hundreds. So its great to find a new one that was outstanding. Can't really eat in,place is meant for pickup and quite affordable.

The steamed bun was very subtle in taste, with a nice schwung in the filling. The edamames were perfectly cooked, and I heard from my omni family that their noodles and dumplings were very tasty too! I definitely recommend this place!

Perfect chive and pork dumplings and soup every time. Pork sesamea pancake is heavenly. Delivery is fast.

Well, I went for dumplings, but found them not to be as good as Vanessa's on 14th Street. But, the hot and sour soup was outstanding. Sounds strange, but it really was exceptional. The dumplings were just o.k.

If you're in north Brooklyn and looking for a affordable and fast bite, I recommend Vanessa's Dumpling House. Exactly what you would expect from a dumpling house! I love their shrimp or basil/chicken dumplings.

Went for a quick snack before a night out with some friends. Quick service and great veggie options, and so cheap as well!

There are few quicker, healthy meals in new York City than Vanessa's Dumplings I suspect. I had the vegetarian dumplings which are 8 for less $2.50 if they are steamed or you get only four of them if they are pan fried. Either way that is great value.
Best dumplings and pork buns!
Driving back from Coney Island, we figured it’d be easier to visit this location rather than the one in Manhattan. The pan fried pork and chive dumplings are phenomenal! The pork buns are delicious too. No trip to NYC is complete without a few orders as a meal or a snack between meals.
