Our group of 4 shared 3 appetizers, had separate entrees and shared 2 desserts. The crab and sugar snap salad was especially good and a good value since it was loaded with crab. Everyone enjoyed their entrees, but I think the pasta with pork shank was especially good. We only had room to share sorbet and gelato, which were excellent. There were no daily specials and only 3 pastas and 3 items on the entree menu (cod, salmon and steak). Wine list was similarly limited.

Cute madrona neighborhood restaurant definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend the Chef’s tasting menu - it’s always a gamble bc you may get that one pasta or protein on the menu you don’t want, but there’s so many great dishes in menu you really can’t go wrong .

My ladies group visited this quaint, quiet, small restaurant with open kitchen and bar. Great wine list by the glass, wonderful service.. All our dished were wonderful. We shared the scallops.. Very tasty.. Will order these again. The Chicken wild mushroom Ravioli.. Yum... We had two desserts.. Raspberry sorbet and Chocolate Carmel.. Wonderful evening. Highly recommend. PS - Park in the pay lot on the corner by Union. Come early to visit Glass Baby down the street. Make it a destination for shopping and fine dining.

We just ate dinner for a 2nd time at Vendemmia. Both times have been remarkable experiences, especially if you like great food with an Italian emphasis. We live nearby in the neighborhood, and are so proud of the success that this restaurant has had since its opening. The bread is from Columbia City Bakery, and it is the best. Not to be missed is the snap pea, dungeness crabmeat and endive salad. The grilled green beans were well flavored as were the baby beets, goat cheese, rye and pear. Spaghetti and ravioli dishes rounded out the meal. What I like about the restaurant is that the portions served are not huge, but just right.

I am lucky enough to live in the Madrona neighborhood where Vendemmia is located. The restaurant is new (May 2015) and has already worked out its kinks (if it ever had any!). It is small so be sure to make a reservation. The restaurant is extremely open - when you walk in the door the first thing you see is the chef! It is so inviting with the open kitchen and big windows. The food, though, is the real reason to go here. I can't say enough about the wonderful plates that come out of the Vendemmia kitchen. They change all the time depending on what's fresh, and what's always fresh is the pasta. The menu is fairly limited with a number of salads and small bites to start with, then there is a small pasta section and small entree section to choose from. There is a full bar (with seating) and they have a respectable wine list, though I do wish it would grow a bit. The pricing is very reasonable for the area and cuisine - it's far from a bargain restaurant, but it's not over-the-top, either. I'd say around $20-30 per person with a starter.

Went with daughter and son-in-law. The menu is fairly limited, but had a favorite of mine, steak tartare as appetizer. Main meals are tasty pasta dishes with generous portion. Chose a brown sugar ice cream which was somewhat tart, so would go with tiramisu next time.

Had dinner here in June with a friend and we decided to do the four course tasting menu because we couldn't decide what to order. Oh my... for the people, we got soooo much food. While it was four courses, we received multiple items for each course. And it was all delicious. Everything was fresh, flavorful and well prepared. A bit pricey for a weeknight meal, yet a decent price for all of the food we received and enjoyed.

Expensive for value delivered. Regret having gone to dinner at Vendemmia. Three scallops with a mere tablespoon of side veggie was a shock, so that the cost of each scallop on the plate was $10 plus tip.

I live a few blocks away and was happy to see the new restaurant open a few months ago. My partner and I tried to walk in shortly after it opened but they were full (good sign) and could not take anyone else that night. So we promised ourselves to make a reservation and give it a real try. That happened last Friday night. I was excited because we had family in town so it was going to be a fun night to try this new hot spot. Unfortunately, all of us were disappointed. The food was hit or miss. We had some good appetizers and some not so good appetizers and the entrees were very expensive considering none were at all remarkable. The food was bland, especially the pasta with black truffle, which my partner and her son both ordered. I had a cod dish and it was OK but not great and the portion was so small I felt it was more appropriate as an appetizer. Apparently the ravioli was tasty but another linguine dish was not. It was noisy too but we could have overlooked that if the food was better. The website also says it is priced $30 and less but that was not my experience. We had to book two weeks in advance to get in and to be honest I don't get it. Why does everyone think this place is good? I am very familiar with fine dining as were our guests so I don't think we were being too critical. Maybe it was just a bad night in the kitchen. If you are intent on trying this place I recommend you try it with one or two before you bring a larger group or the whole family. It is not a place for small kids. Even though we live nearby we most likely will go elsewhere for our Italian dining in the future.

Delicious, fresh food that's actually well priced in a gorgeous Seattle neighborhood. Most of the produce is grown on the rooftop! Brian is a remarkable chef and the open kitchen is an added nice touch. Walk a few doors down to Molly Moons for ice cream afterwards or a drink at Red Cow.

The menu is set up for 4 courses, but we made it two. To start we had the foie gras, crab and snow pea salad and oysters. Uniformly excellent. Next course two of us had pasta, the spaghetti and the lamb Bolognese tagliatelli. My wife had the steak with wild mushrooms. All of us were very happy. Service was relaxed but efficient. The menu is short but when you are only serving what is in season and available in good quality, that is understandable. I would have appreciated more wine choices, though for Italian wine it had an interesting selection. Also 3 or 4 kinds of grappa. $300 for a party of three, with drinks before and after and a bottle of wine. Reasonable, I think.

My daughter took me to this restaurant on Mother's Day. This restaurant was highly recommended by her friends. We ordered all appetizers to share. All tasted very very good. The presentation of each dishes were also very nice. I will visit this restaurant again in near future. This is one of my favorite restaurant.

Vegetable-forward food from a kitchen of skilled, caring hands. Great small plates and pasta, with kudos to the agnolotti and that smooth eggplant filling and kickin’ cherry tomatoes. Animal eaters in the group loved the hamachi crudo and the salmon; Tokyo turnips with fresh apricot matched the golden sunset glow in leafy Madrona. Strong bartending and service. Nice menu and setting for a group of four, and maybe even better for two at a sidewalk table on a warm summer evening.

Vendemmia is a charming little restaurant, harking back to a bygone era when customers were treated as valued guests, where pride in the menu is as important as atmosphere and decor. I was completely pleased with everything -- beer and wine selection, menu, staff. There are not a lot of tables so reservations are a must. Staff will help you select menu items, so feel free to experiment a bit. If you have a large party, there is a charming separate room in the back which will make you feel like a VIP. The neighborhood is worth the visit for the little shops around there.

We had an outstanding meal this evening at Vendemmia. The food is amazing and deceptively simple. My husband and I shared four small plates of baby carrots, grilled green beans, tuna, and hamachi- each one exquisitely fresh, perfectly seasoned and accompanied sparingly with just the right flavorful vegetables, sauces and herbs. We then shared delicious ricotta ravioli with tiny slices of barely cooked zucchini and cherry tomatoes followed by crispy skinned King salmon on a bed of fresh corn salad. Just the right amount of food for hungry diners and not outrageously expensive. The restaurant is spare and industrial but still pleasant with an open kitchen that is fun to watch. Service was attentive and helpful. All in all, we loved it and recommend it highly.

What a delight. We have been here a couple of times and each time I'm left thinking about the food for days afterwards - remembering the tastes in my mouth! Creative salads, homemade pastas with simple yet sumptuous sauce, delicious beef - everything perfectly prepared. The service is unparalleled and the sommelier knows her wines (I'll refrain from mentioning her name for privacy reasons) and enhanced our experience both times with the perfect wine and champagne pairings. They make you feel so special - like you're the only table in the restaurant! We ate al fresco both times. This is an exquisite restaurant to which we'll return frequently.

Cannot figure out all the fuss about this restaurant. So many good reviews on other sites and in Seattle Times. The ricotta ravioli with sautéd cherry tomatoes and zucchini in a butter sauce had zero taste, the ricotta was grainy. The green bean side dish was mediocre at best; over salted with some beans overcooked and some undercooked. The spaghetti was good but not reason enough to come back. We did like the salmon poached in olive oil on crostini. The service was hectic and sporadic even though the servers did try and were very nice.

First off, did not appreciate immediately being offered bread and olives (YUM, who would say no?), but then find out bread is $5 and olives are $4. Seems like very heavy handed upsale! No mention was made of the price and it was offered before we had a moment to look at the menu and see the cost. First dish came before we even ordered drinks (WAY too early) and then the 2nd dish (pasta), took over 30 mins. They could work on their timing! However, the staff was super friendly and nice. It is VERY noisy! Lighting made it very hard to read the menu and I noticed folks on both sides of us had the same problem. Pasta (what we came for) was mixed. An amazing (!!) delicious pasta with a rich lamb sauce was delicious! Really wonderful and nice sized! The other pasta (tagliatelle) with crab was dull - lacking flavor. The pasta itself was light and nice and perfectly textured, but there was scant crab and it was clearly tossed in at the last moment (it was not hot) and the whole thing needed more flavor -- there were a few herbs..not nearly enough. The crab flavor did not go beyond the crab. Even just salt and pepper (not on table) would have helped and certainly more herbs. I appreciate simple flavors.. but this was too simple. Likely the FIRST time I've even left pasta on my plate. Very good wine! Not sure I would return (since it is across town for us).

This is a fairly new place in our neighborhood that's been getting buzz well beyond the neighborhood. I'm here to say that buzz is warranted. Excellent food. We had eight different dishes for four of us (all shared) and had room for only one dessert. So plenty of food. Didn't order any entrees so cannot speak to those. Five from the top tier of small plates and three pastas. Everything was fresh and thoughtful and delicious. While they may still be getting a few kinks worked out, I thought the service was terrific, too. Just the right tone. (Pacing might have been a tiny bit off, but that's my idea of a kink.) It's a nice space. Can tend towards a little noisy, but in that way almost all restaurants that are packed are. Really worth the splurge. I'll surely go back. Probably many times.

The Madrona neighborhood has one more great reason to earn a stop on Seattle's foodie tour. It does a nice job of balancing a 'neighborhoodie' feel and an industrial upscale vibe. There aren't too many tables or bar spots so make your reservations well ahead of time. Service is very good; they are fairly low key in general which may not suit everyone but is a generally Seattle style. But your server has a strong grasp of menu details, is willing to venture an opinion, and has a great sense of pairings. The main thing making this restaurant great is, of course, the food. Sometimes the menu describes something that seems like it would not be remarkable - like carrots. But when it comes to your table you are transformed. The presentations are visually clean and simply artistic. The flavor profiles are sublime, with just the right complementary tastes. Some people have complained about portion size but I am not a fan of some other restaurants' approach of volume over quality. The menu offerings rotate fairly often, sometimes leaving your favorite dish behind. The appetizers are uniformly outstanding. Most of the pasta dishes are great, and the pasta sauces are fantastic. Occasionally some of the pastas themselves seem past al dente, but usually they are just right. I was skeptical about another italian spot in the Seattle area, but Vendemmia has rocketed to a favored standing in my book.

This restaurant is in my neighborhood in Madrona so we wanted to check it out. Ate there twice. First time we were not so impressed, but wanted to give it another chance. Second time was much better. My husband's salmon was truly delicious. The service was excellent. The restaurant is very small. Noise level was OK. Menu is quite small, but interesting. The atmosphere is very chic..beautifully designed. Will be visiting again with anticipation.

We went with friends and were so impressed. The cocktails are imaginative and so good. They have a good wine list too. Now, to the food which is over the top delicious. Every course was better than the one before as we exchanged bites so as to not miss anything. There is an open kitchen with seating as well as seating outside. We ate and drank ourselves silly and the bill was quite reasonable. Go quickly because you won't be able to get in once the word is out. Such a great find in Seattle.

Dined here twice in past couple weeks. Initially in tiny front of restaurant, last night in ten person private dining room in back. Both times we enjoyed expert professional service, and exceptionally well executed cuisine. Our private room function was day after horrific news on Tony Bourdain. We commiserated with our server Natasha. Talked about how devastated we all were, but that we will honor his legacy and move forward as best we can. Had $50/person tasting menu. It was 10 (yes ten) dishes served family style. Beautifully plated, exquisite balance of tastes, temperatures and textures. Standouts were cauliflower, asparagus, beef tartare, hamachi crudo, pastas (between both visits, had every one on menu, all are 4* or 5*), black cod, ribeye steak. Vegetarian dishes were superb. This may be best small private dining room in Seattle. Limited wine list with interesting Italian wines. Was dreading trying to find parking on 34th Ave in Madrona, but had no problems either time.

We loved the food at our recent dinner here. It consisted of perfectly prepared pasta; exquisite black cod with delicious accompaniments; a tasty salad with crisp, fresh greens; an order of Macrina Bakery bread; and two delectable desserts. Just thinking about my luscious panna cotta with peaches brings a smile. Vendemmia richly deserves all the recent good press it has received about its cuisine since its May (2015) opening in the Madrona neighborhood. Many kudos to the chef! So why I have I given an average rating to a restaurant with such topnotch offerings? That's because dining encompasses more than the food. I've had to drop my rating from excellent to average, mostly because of our server with "attitude." I'll give a couple of examples. When he failed to bring our bread order after 10 minutes and was nowhere to be seen, we asked another employee if we could please have our bread. Our original server returned with the bread and hissed, "You said you wanted this with your meal." Well, no, I didn't say that. When my husband's salad never appeared with his entree, he asked our server if it would be delivered after the entree (which we are accustomed to in Europe). "You never ordered salad," was the response. When my husband remarked that he did, the server argued with him, and this was most unpleasant. At least the salad finally arrived. We had to inquire about desserts as they are not listed on the menu and the server made no mention of them. He never asked if we wanted coffee or tea. The other staff we interacted with, however, was friendly and helpful, from the woman who seated us to the woman who kept all the diners' water glasses filled. The restaurant's small room has choice tables at the windows, overlooking 34th Avenue; a group of tables in the center; and three tables at the back. There is also seating at a bar area. When entering, there is an open kitchen area straight ahead. We found this to be an agreeable atmosphere. But when the lights dimmed halfway through dinner, we found ourselves struggling to see. This detracted from the dining experience; and after dinner, I needed a flashlight to read the bill. We went many miles out of our way to dine at Vendemmia and thought that the food was definitely worth the long drive. There is plenty of street parking in the neighborhood. I highly recommend reservations.

I read a review about this new restaurant and was impressed with the menu and the quality of the food. I was there for the happy hour since I was going out later & needed a light meal. I chose the Dungeness crab salad & pasta w/ basil and tomato sauce, wine & the fabulous Columbia City bread. The crab salad was amazing & I asked what was in it. There are so few ingredients & this brings out the flavor of the crab. The pasta & sauce was subtle w/ a little kick. Portions were generous & I enjoyed sitting @ the bar watching the bar tender work his magic w/ some Old Fashion drinks. I will definitely go for dinner & bring a group of friends. This is a small, intimate & convivial restaurant. I just wish there was a sister restaurant in the northeast side of the city.

Arrived on time at 6:45 Waiter asking for drink requests before we'd become comfortable in the chair. Asked if there was anything we needed to know (no) and then for more time. Checked the wine list, made a choice. Waited. Ordered wine-- they were out. (Did we need to know this before?) Made another selection from the rose and sparking menu, after having said we wanted a rose, waiter repeated name. Brought wine and opened it-- surprise! A sparkling red. (Oh well, my bad). Took orders (we decided to request small plates and order more later)-- ordered the smelt. Oh, they're out. (Did we need to know that?, Guess not). The food was exquisite. Portions are good for sharing tapas style. Bread from Columbia City is good; the portion was small for the price. We ordered pasta after we were almost finished with the small plates knowing we'd have to wait a bit. But we waited and waited and waited. The pasta was delicious. Portions ok size, more than enough for one person as an entree; good for sharing. We ate it quickly, ordered dessert, which was brought to us quickly. The desserts were perfectly executed. We left at 9:30. Admittedly we weren't vacuuming our food down. And, I hadn't known that it takes that long to hunt, dress and prepare a tagliatelle (which we decided must be a very large animal). Admittedly there was a table of 6 who were also being cooked for (but the resto was otherwise empty by then)..... So: Excellent food. Meh service. Don't go if you have anything to do after your meal.

Not far from downtown, the Madrona neighborhood has some nice eateries and is worth the effort to explore. Vendemmia who we were introduced to by a friends daughter is impressive. We enjoyed some creative dishes that set it apart from other Italian restaurants. The snap pea salad with crab was exceptional, green beans flavorful and nicely seasoned. My spaghetti while very simple was absolutely delicious, I'm still thinking about it. recommended.

This is a meal with simple but delicious ingredients. Standouts were the green beans (with olive oil, salt, simply charred), mozzarella with eggplant tapenade, and ravioli. The beef tartare was good but not memorable. Overall, this was a great meal with excellent service. We will definitely go there again - and soon! We went because of the great reviews on TripAdvisor. We expected a good meal but this place far exceeded our expectations.

We had heard about Vendemmia and wanted to check it out so we went to celebrate a bday. We ordered almost everything on the menu and shared it all....DELISH! Highly recommend!

Very modern and clean look when entering with an open kitchen in one corner of the restaurant. We were promptly seated and decided for the oysters and the foie gras as appetizers. The Kusshi oysters were delicious and tasty. The foie gras prepared in mousse on croutons with Mission figs on the side was a great combination of tastes. For the main course, our choices were cavatelli pasta with little morcels of fish and paccheri with petrale sole was the second choice. Great white wine: Abbazia Kerner.

A group of friends and I participated in the Chef's Table Menu Tasting that Vendemmia offers. All dishes were made with seasonal ingredients and showcased some of the best fish Seattle has to offer. Chefs Table consisted of 5 courses (3 shareable plates, a fish board, a pasta dish, main course, and dessert) and each one was unique and delicious. They have an incredible wine list as well, and all the staff seemed very knowledgeable when we asked for recommendations. Another very cool aspect of this experience was that the chefs prepared all of our plates right in front of us, so they answered any questions we had and gave us tips on how to replicate some aspects of the dish at home. I would highly recommend this experience to all my fellow foodies out there as it was truly a one of a kind experience.

Did a chefs tasting menu with a group. They kept bringing on the dishes. SAlad with seafood, caprese salad, 3 other appetizers, 2 pasta dishes and then an amazing black cod dish. I needed to be rolled out the door. Service was great. Must have reservations.

I usually consider "restaurant food", no matter how good, as in a different category from home cooked food. In a restaurant, the ingredients are usually compromised, the seasoning is overdone to suit average tastes, and the food often sits until cold befiore arriving. None of those problems occurred here. We sat at the chef's counter and watched up close as every beautiful fresh heirloom tomato was sliced and placed, pasta was oiled, sizzled and flipped, cheese measured and plated, all minutes or seconds before being whisked to the customer. The quality of the ingredients was every bit as high as one could hope for, making me wonder where they find some of them. The team of cooks was well trained and certainly adequate for the job of serving a small room of happy diners. There were 5 kitchen workers in a small area, expertly chopping, slicing, mixing and cooking, working together smoothly, highly focused, and apparently enjoying the process. All the patrons looked happy, and as they left people routinely commented something like "Great job, thank you!" In my experience this was comparable to what one may get on a special occasion, in the personal kitchen of a friend who is a dedicated "foody", and has had a good day at the market. The wine pairings were good too. My party was certainly more than pleased, and the price was appropriate for the quality and quantity. Well done!

We just moved to Seattle from the East Coast and decided to start eating out - coming from NYC we care a lot about food. We are so happy that we found Vendemmia. The owner is terrific as are the servers (ask for Lauren). We did the tasting menu one night and ordered off the menu a few nights later. Everything was superb - oysters, seafood main, pasta, tiramisu, salads.....everything. We have had both drinks and wine there and I appreciate their help in trying some new wines. It is a super welcoming and charming place in a small Madrona neighborhood. Very popular as it has been full every time we have gone there. We have already declared it our go-to Seattle night out.

Seattle Restaurant Week (3 courses for $30) can be hit or miss. Usually customers get a scaled back menu in a rushed environment. Vendemmia is the opposite. Appetizer course was 4 different plated offerings to share - Delicious Greens and radishes, Steak Tartare on crostini, Yellowtail sushi, and mushroom risottto. Second course choices include the signature SPAGHETTI, with tomato, basil, olive oil, chili PORCHETTA, cannellini bean, fennel pollen, frisée, pear, and LINGCOD, cauliflower, leek, orange, castelvetrano olive, all delightful. 3 desert choices (Blue Cheese, Custard) but we all went with a Chocolate Mousse with Vanilla caramel ice cream. Wine pairings for $20. Service was unhurried, casual, and professional. What a neighborhood gem! Don't tell anyone - except that Brian and Brandon deserve accolades and a full house!

This restaurant is unimposing in a small commercial area of a residential neighborhood. It's basically a storefront. The food sings with vibrant colors & fresh flavors. Maybe it's just the link of summer but I think not. The heirloom tomato salad was divine. Loved the black cod too. Pastas were nicely al sentence & sauced appropriately. Can't go wrong giving this place a try.

We had dinner with friends at Vendemmia this past Saturday evening. Our first visit to the restaurant and we weren't disappointed. The food was amazing. The steak tartar was some of the best we've had and the spaghetti was wonderful. Salad was even better than most. I would highly recommend this place - not a huge space and seemed more of an adult spot than family/ kids. A few outdoor tables for two but there are large windows that are open so it has a relaxing, open feel. We were also impressed and entertained by the bartender. Quality drinks!

The foods are simply good. The taste is well controlled. You wont find any dish salty and oily, but every bite is tasty. Hamachi with mandarin produces a inspiring taste. The pork is a must have appetizer. The steak is special. Its evenly seasoned so you will enjoy every piece. Love this place.

We had a lovely date night here. The ambiance is only so-so with a very minimalist/industrial design and we were seated right by the door which was very drafty and chilly however the food makes up for it. Every dish was so well executed. The sauces and veggie pairings were perfection and every dish we tried was delicious. My spouse had the tuna to start and I had the butternut squash soup, then he had the spaghetti (which seems silly to eat out and have spaghetti but it really was wonderful) I had the beef rib which was tender, fall off the bone with incredible sauce and pollenta. We both finished with the chocolate caramel sea salt dish with the vanilla gellato. Heaven. We will definitely be back!

Generous menu of hard choices. We selected four plates to share. First, half a dozen Pacific oysters, salty and wonderful ( the mignonette, though, was sweet and unappealing.) Next a surprising and terrific salad of sliced fresh snap peas mixed with fresh dungeness crab in a light lemony mayonnaise. A big lump of burrata on eggplant caponata, looked like a large poached egg on toast. The burrata was perfect and savory, the caponata good but tending toward sweet. Best of all were the succulent grilled sea scallops on a bed of farro with artichokes. All so rich I couldn't manage dessert, alas. The restaurant is stylishly spare in design with hard wood benches and chairs and hard wooden edges, in tones of gray and cream. By 7:00 every table was taken, and every seat at the bar. Many elegantly slender servers dressed in black, and followed around by young men, evidently trainees. This was a Thursday night. Clearly a successful place.

Vendemmia much-anticipated opening was last week and Brian Clevenger does not disappoint. The menu offers a wide selection of hand-crafted seasonal dishes - from starters to vegetarian dishes to pasta to meat and fish. The chef created a tasting menu for us, enabling our party to try much of the menu. All the dishes we tried were superb. I was also impressed with the high quality and value of the wine list. And, the location is has a fun vibe with windows that open to the street and the kitchen right on the dining room floor making the chef and team part of the experience. I'll definitely go back again.

Had another great meal at Vendemmia this week. The menu was interesting, drinks hit the spot, and service was top-notch. I really enjoyed my papardelle, and my dining companions were thrilled with their pork chops. I'm sure we'll be back many times - it's become one of our favorite places in Seattle.

An awful service. Staff was rude. Food was good but didn’t make up for the terrible experience we had. They keep rushing people to leave regardless of how much people order. Would never go back again. Dessert was not impressive either. Mon experience était malheureuse. L’équipe était malpoli. La nourriture était correct. Le dessert n’était pas bon. On ne reviendra jamais.

We went to Vendemmia for dinner on a Friday evening. What a wonderful surprise - it's hidden away in the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle and is in a small rather nondescript location, but the food was very fresh and delicious. We were seated at a table near the kitchen and could watch the chef put the finishing touches on each dish before they were served. It's not traditional Italian, but Italian using very fresh and light ingredients in delicious combinations.

Went for brunch last Sunday with my BFF. Food was yummy. I had the bacon breakfast sandwich with avocado and she had a pork dish with eggs and gravy (don't remember the name of it). We shared the greens beans, which were tasty. Everything coming from the kitchen looked really good. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly staff. They just started serving brunch, which is on Sunday's only. We plan to go back.

We came here as the final dinner in Seattle and everything was fabulous. We were greeted warmly and shown to a great table in an open dining room flawlessly emaculate and well apportioned. Everything we had was fabulous but my absolute favorite was the black cod:

We dined family style which allowed us to order virtually every appetizer plus the pastas. The food was extremely good. Each dish was imagined with great flavours and the pastas were especially good. We have the sommelier (Sylvain) pick all the bottles of wine to match the food. We really enjoyed the wines he selected. The service was the only weak area. Our waiter (Jesse) delivered mixed service. Sometimes great, sometimes missing in action and forgetful of requests. I subtracted a star due to the weak service.

Another very pleasant dinner at Vendemmia. Two couples met for dinner and a crazy conversation of personal catching up, families and politics. Couple all that with Vendemmia and it’s a great night! The service was perfect, they let us linger over the menu, explained the specials and brought our drink order quickly. All of our following courses arrived in a timely but unhurried manner and the (very professional) wait person was perfect. Small plates of the crab and greens and the leafy green salad were very nice, fresh and flavorful. Octopus rigatoni, spaghetti with tomato and basil and the other ravioli-like pasta were all great! Good portions provided. Desserts equally great and a good wine list by the glass. And, good acoustics, we could carry on our conversation without shouting. Nice. Perhaps slightly pricey but I thought well worth the food and experience. Only a slight premium over an average establishment. So, easy decision for us.

A small but airy industrial setting with a small open kitchen that puts out some of the most creative and delicious modern Italian food around. It seems to be meant as a neighborhood restaurant in the affluent Madrona area of Seattle, but trying to get a table makes you realize that the word is out. People are traveling cross-town to enjoy the creative dishes. The menu is not extensive, but you can’t go wrong with anything you choose. For starters we enjoyed the Hamachi Sashimi with blood orange, olive & sorrel - which was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, Kusshi Oysters, and the light as a feather Foie Gras with pear mostarda & crostini both spot on. For mains, we decided on pasta. The best was Tagliatelle with morel mushrooms, peas & mint. Also good was the Ravioli ricotta served with asparagus, green garlic and chives. Basic and not as memorable but still enjoyable was the Spaghetti with tomato, basil, olive oil, chili. Deserts were good. Service unobtrusive and professional.

I was very happy to encounter a waiter I loved from the Book Bindery. He is extremely professional and able to read the table. As you know, a waiter can make or break your experience! I love sustainable black cod and it was cooked to perfection. We really enjoyed the crab and snap peas, both in season now. We were very impressed by the amount of crab in the dish! There were even a few lumps, plus it was very tasty! Ah, the himachi! Beautiful sushi-grade cubes served at the proper temperature and beautifully presented with micro greens. It is fun because you can see the chefs cook or even sit at the bar to have a closer look. it's a very small restaurant so make a reservation.

Several Seattle neighborhoods have been lucky enough to have a high-quality conerstone restaurant. Put Madrona at the top of the list thanks to this outstanding spot. Top notch food, friendly consistent service and a casual yet hit vibe all come together to make Vendemmia a must stop for lovers of both pasta and seafood. As a local, I have eaten there nearly a dozen times the past 24 months and highly recommend the spot

This was our first time to this restaurant. It wasn't off to a good start. When I inquired about "pasta of the day," the waitress told us name of the pasta, which means nothing to us as we are not Italians. The puzzled look on our faces should have been a clue. I asked again, she repeated it and offered no additional info about exactly what is in the pasta. We were too embarrassed to ask so we didn't. She had an attitude which was not nice. Ultimately the bartender saved the day. He was wonderful. We had little gem salad, yelloweye and the pasta with pulled pork. The pasta was cooked to perfection. The food is great. Of course you can't end an Italian meal without tiramisu. We were shocked the little piece of tiramisu was $15. We will surely be back for the pasta. Overall we had a positive experience and special thanks to the nice bartender.

I'll qualify that with: food that seemed straight out of our most recent trip to Italy, now in Seattle. A small restaurant tucked in a typical Seattle neighborhood has a superb chef that you will usually see in action as soon as you walk in the door. We sat at the bar just before 6 pm and ordered from the happy hour selections: green salad with piquant anchovie-vinagrette dressing, beet salad with goat cheese and pear, and spaghetti. All plates were big, and serving utensils were provided to enable sharing (I have never had such large happy hour servings). The 3 women beside us ordered a single salad, appetizer, and entree' and all shared...savoring each bite. We loved each item so much, we did share: I was particularly impressed with the quality of the cheese and beets, and the amazing flavor/texture of the spaghetti. My husband then ordered a lamb bolognese with house made noodles--and he felt it was as good as any he has had. Rapturous.

The food and service was good, it just didn't wow me to justify a higher rating. The Madrona neighborhood is a fun little spot where you can head out and grab a drink and pick from a few different restaurants. I'd go Red Cow over Vendemmia, different cuisine but Red Cow is a little more fun.

Great menu choices, fun vibe, delicious food and cocktails. Very good quality, and not very pricey. Noisy inside - but that's true of virtually every restaurant you might want to eat at! Professional, knowledgable service. We had a very fine meal.

This was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had, which if you scan my reviews you will see is very high praise. It started with lightly charred fresh local asparagus, included the spaghetti, and an incredible dessert. However, I'm not saying any more...I want you to go there and find out for yourself! FYI, it's in a little neighborhood, not right in the heart of downtown, but it's a cheap a scenic ride there, so please don't let that stop you. They also make a wide array of creative cocktails; the negroni was just the right blend of bitter and sweet. Finally, I was completely comfortable eating solo there.

Just officially a week or two this is a nice addition to the Madrona neighborhood. The menu is limited but has some variety so you'll find something you would want to eat. The food is well prepared but not particularly innovative which is OK. I just want tasty food so it doesn't have to be weird. Service is a bit slow as they iron out the kinks. Worth a visit.

This used to be one of our favorite restaurants. Not any more. We ordered for delivery tonight. Everything was tasty, but there was next to zero food -- the bill however was plenty big. A tomato and panzanella salad with less than two bites of tomato. A fish main course of two bites of fish and half a bite of vegetables -- $38. Finished dinner and still starving. Never again.

We've eaten twice at this relatively new restaurant in our neighborhood. Menu is simple and not extensive, but nonetheless we were able to find dishes we liked both times. There are maybe 6 or 8 starters, 3 or 4 pasta dishes, and 3 entrees: steak, swordfish, and salmon. All the dishes we ordered were very good. Especially recommend the grilled green beans, beets, and crab starters. (Those are 3 different starters.) The white wine I ordered by the glass was excellent. The service was excellent. I wouldn't call this a quiet restaurant, but you can have a conversation without yelling.

Food and service was excellent. Waitress made good recommendations. Risotto and halibut would be my recommendation with Snap peas salad. Gelato is made onsite.
Tasty, expensive
Service is good, familiar and informal as is the norm in Seattle. The food is quite tasty and inventive indeed, my wife and I had black cod which was excellent, while another in our party had beef that I also tasted and was also very good. This is sort of a fancy-ish neighborhood joint but with high-end prices; but people like it, it's pretty hard to get a reservation on weekends.
