Excellent music every Tuesday night!

By e e |

The food is not the main attraction here. It's the music, especially every Tuesday night . This is one of the best jazz nights in town with Joe Gransden and many other excellent musicians that come to sit in. Don't miss it!

Loved the food! Great restaurant!

By Bluebird909 |

I was recently in Atlanta unexpectedly and decided to go to Venkman's after looking at the menu online. I'm a northerner and wanted to try their southern cuisine. I went early as I was alone, and they were totally welcoming. I loved this place, and I highly recommend it.

Brunch with friends!

By 2happi |

Brunch on a very hot Saturday with friends from NJ and a surprise...live music!!! This is a relaxed environment with courteous wait staff esp Somer. She pleasantly explained our choices since this was our first visit. The food was a bit different from regular fare but very wholesome and tasty. Bottomless mimosa is a must!!! French toast was not the usual but still good. Enjoyed the veggie omelet.

Music, good food, and fun

By Tennisbeachgal |

Went to Venkmans for girls night birthday celebration. The average age of the crowd was a bit younger than us. We were definitely their parents' generation. That's ok, because they played the music from when we were their age in the eighties. Very good mix of music, everyone sang with the band because they were the classic songs everyone knew the words to. Our server was top notch. Cocktails were very good. The food was also very good and not too pricey. Would definitely go back.

Good service, interesting menu

Went for early show on Saturday. Very friendly and attentive staff. Food was good and far from ordinary without being too trendy. Acoustic solo act added too comfortable atmosphere.

Wedding After Party

By Emmy Palmish |

Venkman's is in my neighborhood and I have been a dozen times. Great spot to meet someone for drinks and listen to live music (some amazing talent) and a great brunch spot. The reason I am writing a review is because these guys gave the best wedding after party anyone could ever ask for! A few weeks back I had called management and asked if they would be okay with me inviting my guest to Venkman's after my wedding reception that was taking place in the park near by. I told them it could be 25-50 people and that I did not want to pick up the tab, but wanted to meet up with some guest after the wedding for a few more drinks. First off, over half of my guest came to Venkman's, (which was about 100 people). YIKES! Secondly, they set up entire area on the patio with a full bar for my guest! RAD! Third, Venkman's had wrist bands for ALL my guest which allowed them to go inside to cool off with the air conditioning or use the restroom without a cover charge. AMAZING! We partied so hard its a little fuzzy, but the next day at brunch everyone raved about how great the service was at Venkmans! Thank you again guys for topping off the night!!

Love it!

By kitajenn8709 |

I have been to Venkman's three times now and each time it has been wonderful! The service is always great and the food is delicious! And who can top bottomless mimosas at brunch! The last time I went it was for a Princess Brunch in which my niece loved. Check out Venkman's if you haven't already!

Not your average, run of the mill meal out

By Donald W |

With a unique menu, inside and outside dining, and a great music variety, this place is worth seeking out. I believe it was once a beverage bottling facility and now hosts music acts on a rotating basis. The food does not disappoint either. We went for 2 generations of Mother's day brunch and all three enjoyed different meals after splitting a "Big _ _ _ sticky bun." Sorry, its name (paraphrased), not my writing liberties. Although not on the beaten path of restaurants in Atlanta, this is one location and experience which is worth seeking out.

Elf movie night

By Jennifer K |

Great food fun times. Went to an event the movie Elf was playing in the background people where singing along. The food was amazing everyone enjoyed their meal. Great drinks good atmosphere

Very Tasty

By Bonnie |

I had the noodles and peas, very delicious and creamy. The staff were friendly and help my grandson pick something he would like. Not really kid friendly menu.

A lovely outing..

By shumphrey_atl |

Was invited to attend, had never heard of the place, but oh my I loved it. Great entertainment, very tasty and presentation on the food was superb. A must attend if you are in town or looking for skittle something to do.

Great Venue

By darhma |

They have a jam session like event on Tuesday nights. There must of been 50 different musicians who played through out the night. Great times.

Great Brunch Location

By pfrabbit326 |

I had brunch with a few friends and family on Sunday at Venkmans (Old 4th Ward) . We each ordered something different on the menu, and glad we did! The Breakfast Poutine was delicious and cheesy, the Huevos Rancheros has smoked pork perfection, and the chili lime slaw through it over the top! For the traditionalist there was the Tall Boy breakfasts, with the fluffiest pancakes ever! Oh and did I mention the live music that played throughout our meal! Venkman's is a must see, must taste brunch hot spot...with friendly and helpful staff, delicious food, and great atmosphere...Fun times.

Feels like New Orleans, on the Beltline

By EdRigdon |

On Saturday morning, I was at Freedom Farmers Market at the Carter Center, and then I walked to two blocks down Ralph McGill to Venkman's, on the Beltline. This was not my first visit. The place takes me to New Orleans, just like that. There is always music--this is a hopping place, NOT a quiet place. Staff are friendly--they seem happy to be there, and they make you want to stay. I ordered the duck egg hash--duck with local sweet potatoes and lovely greens, topped with a delicately fried duck egg, and a wonderful sauce. It was awesome--my whole day just got that much nicer. And then for dessert, I took a suggestion and ordered their blueberry donuts with lemon curd. Substantial, warm, and the lemon curd made it special. To justify it all, I went for a hike along the Beltline, with some of the donuts in a box for later. I can't wait to go back.

Great first visit

By Francie |

First visit to this establishment. Went for brunch on a Saturday. Menu is very interesting. Everyone in our party of 4 was pleased with what they ordered, including a vegetable omelet, the chicken biscuit special, and breakfast tacos. I also recommend two cocktails: Eat a Peach and Gingerly Garden Way--both great drinks for warm weather. We all liked the ambiance of Venkman's and were pleasantly surprised to hear live music part way into our dining. The only drawback was that the noise of the restaurant was drowning out the live music a bit. Overall, a great meal and looking forward to trying Venkman's for dinner soon.

Pretty cool place

By Suz |

Pretty cool place, great atmosphere, great service, great food, great cocktails and great live music. This place was somewhere a little different for a team dinner, enjoyed by all.

Superior Brunch Spot!

By Brian Sinyard |

Delicious brunch options, bottomless mimosas, and live jazz all contribute to an enjoyable Sunday brunch experience at Venkman's. I have been a frequent patron and the service and food are very consistent. Highly recommended!

We're regulars at Venkmans!

By jenniferharrelson |

We are basically regulars at Venkmans right about now...and it's because of the music. The person in charge of getting the awesome cover band gigs lined up, knows just what my demographic wants. Music from our youth (played not too loud), reasonably priced tickets, tables, interesting food, quality drinks, all in a non smoking environment! The bands we have seen include Saved by the Band, The Smith's cover band, Blondie cover band, REMakes, Beastie boys cover band, Yacht Rock R, and others. The only complaint I can think of is they sometimes run out of fries at the end of the night, and the manager never called me back after I inquired in person about fundraising last fall. We will continue to frequent this venue if they continue to book great live music. Well done!

Good brunch Loud venue

By Carol V |

Place was nice for a get together. Food was good and service was good. Nice music but it was too loud for conversation.

Enjoyable Dinning Experience

By BuffettBrink |

Venkman's offers a southern inspire menu with a modern twist. I recommend the filet of trout with black eyed peas and grains - just one of the many creative entree options. Evenings offer live music as well. It is a warm, family friendly environment. Enjoy!!!

Who ya gonna call?

By Ustravelrt66 |

Venkman's if you want an ectoplasm slushie. Really, this is a thing. I've never been to. Ghostbusters-themed restaurant, and I must say that Venkman's has wink and nod inspirations throughout, but even if you had no idea about the movie connection, you would think the decor is cool. Parking is not too plentiful. The food is good. The waiters are attentive but not in your face. I will say that Chris' bread appetizer will make you feel like a fool for paying $7 for about 5 half slices of sourdough bread, but the waiters speak highly of Chris and say that they are lucky he is there--- so if you want to support Chris, get the bread.

Wow! Winner!

By luckiest1 |

Recommended by our hotel, and what an excellent all around experience. Somer our server was excellent, the food spectacular and the music great! Go! Ask for Somer, have the muscle's and have a great night!

The Old 4th Ward has another excellent venue!

By Tony S |

We went on a Tuesday because it was a live jazz jam session. We were surprised to have needed a reservation, and so chose to sit at the kitchen bar next to the expo station. What a great choice. We were able to see all the various food items as they were prepared and served. Chandler, the Executive Chef and Chef Chris and the expo gave us descriptions of the items. Nice beverage selection, as we had a frozen gin beverage and a gin and sparkling wine mimosa, so we could decide what to eat. We were far enough from the stage so we could converse easily. We just really enjoyed the entire experience.

Great neighborhood bar/restaurant!

By bathos13 |

We walked here from our rental in the Old 4th Ward. Pleasantly surprised! We sat at the bar and had appetizers and drinks before heading the Fox. The food was very good and worked well to share. Very friendly staff. It looks like they have live music most evenings.

Great venue for dinner and music!

By emalday68 |

I love this quaint place for music and dinner. The staff was so attentive and was able to steer me towards the perfect beer. Good menu to choose from......I'll go back!

THE.WORST.

By Katie C |

Horrible service, mediocre food, and appalling management. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. The server acted like she wanted to be anywhere but at work. She completely avoided our table. We had to scavenge for service from other employees. We were told by the manager they had had this problem with Kendra before (our server) until later on when we were told we were difficult. The service and argumentative management ruined my girlfriends 30th birthday brunch. Don't go!

Great Jazz and good food

By NeverEnoughGolf |

My wife and I have gone here several times recently on a Tuesday to listen to the fine Jazz band. Dinner has been very good, I really enjoy the burgers and my wife has had the mussels which are really spicy and tasty. They have free entertainment most nights and I think the diversity they offer with it is great. Give it a try, by the way the wait staff is very good!

Blue Grass music night on Wednesday was awesome!

By Lolita D |

We love country and Blue Grass music and hadn't heard of any place in Atlanta playing it until we heard about Venkman's. Hubby and I turned up on Chicken Pickin Wednesday with the Georgia Mountain String Band performing. Oh what divine music! We were there from the start of the show right up to the last song! Loved, loved, loved the music! The band was soooo talented and they created magic on stage. The restaurant itself was lovely. Great ambience, great service and great food! We had the delicious chicken wings, avocado salad and roasted trout. yum yum! We will be back! (Note: There is a charge of just $5 per person for the show which is so worth it!)

Great small concert venue

By sasob3149 |

Have been to Venkmans several times for concerts. Terrific small venue for dining and entertainment. Every seat is a great seat as you're never more than a few yards from the stage. Wide variety of musical genres to choose from. Menu is varied enough though not large, but food and service are good. a good time is always had by all!

Our new Atlanta favorite!

By Janice D |

We happened to stumble upon this place for brunch and loved it! Great live music and great food! The menu is eclectic southern - we LOVED everything we ordered. Huge portions. A great addition to Old 4th Ward and worth the bike ride ( right off the beltline) from Virginia Highland.

Delightful!

By Ejordan75 |

Our first time here, we just saw the restaurant on our apple maps nearby and went to have brunch. Unbeknownst to us, they were hosting the movie Frozen. We were surrounded by adorable princesses and their mimosa-sipping parents. It was such a great idea and cool atmosphere! The duck hash is to die for. They make a stellar bloody mary. I'd love to go back and try more dishes!

Very good

By K R |

The brisket patty melt is like a Reuben. Best Rueben type sandwich I have ever had. Staff is friendly and attentive. Live music is always great when there.

Loved the LiVE music!

By CeeeCeee631516 |

The live music is the draw to this place. It was great! I would say that is the #1 feature to this restaurant. However, when it is hard to hear because of other very very very loud patrons (laughing, talking and screaming), it becomes a turn off. The staff are friendly and attentive. However, when we asked to ask the other party to quiet down a bit, they did not follow through on our request. Disappointing! However, after another party complained also. They acted on the second or maybe third request when the show was almost over. Extremely Disappointing! Because from what I could hear the singer sang very well. My party and I had a variety of appetizers and dessert and they were good.

Great place for music and food!

By dddeb2 |

Always something going on and a buzz abounds in this music/cafe venue. A large variety of food for this type of establishment and everything I had was good. Also, have wonderful champagne brunches.

When Music and Great Food Collide

By Wendy G |

Brought to you by guys behind the smoothest band in Atlanta, Yacht Rock Revue, be sure to check out Venkman's in the Old Fourth Ward. Band front men and owners Nick Niespodziani and Peter Olson deliver a tasty and rockin' hybrid of restaurant and live music venue - a perfect destination for a fun night out or Sunday brunch. Chef Nick Melvin, the founder of Doux South Pickles, has created a unique menu of traditional comfort foods with his own personal spin. Some of my favorite dishes for brunch include the Big A** Sticky Bun paired with the bottomless mimosa, and the Chicken and Grits. For dinner, start with the Smoked Chicken Wings or BBQ Shrimp, paired with the tasty Avocado Salad if you want to go light or "The Burger" or the Cast Iron Fried Chicken for those wanting a more hearty dish. Sides worth digging into include the Roasted Okra and the Crispy Brussel Sprouts. The menu is seasonal, so expect something new each time you visit as fresh fruits and veggies come in.Wash it down with their signature Ecto-Cooler cocktail/slushie or a great local craft beer. In addition to the tasty eats, one of the bigger draws is 7 nights of music for diners. In addition to the occasional YRR concert, great local musical acts and DJs dot the calendar. Even the owners themselves get in on the action, playing their favorite tracks during the week. You'll see (and hear) everything from Bluegrass to Fleetwood Mac, with some Beatles and Jazz thrown in for good measure. Some shows have a cover charge, so be sure to check out their list of upcoming events list for pricing. Overall, a great addition to the Atlanta food and music scene, so don't miss out on all that Venkman's has to offer!

Fun Place To See Bands

By Chia404 |

A fun intimate venue to see bands play. The drinks were reasonably priced, staff was nice and the venue itself is nice. I hear the food is good but haven't tried it myself yet.

Great place and staff!

By ljsmith |

This is one of the best new places in Atlanta. The food is great and the service is terrific. You can sit at your table and watch a great band whether it is Yacht Rock or one of their other shows. The staff goes over and above what they need to do to make things right with customers. The manager, Scott completely made it up to us for a mix up with the reservations. I have seen Yacht Rock many times but being able to do it at a table with dinner and drinks served to you and an opportunity to get up and dance when you want made it the best time ever.

Fabulous place for brunch

By Maria G |

Venkman's is a fabulous place for lunch. The jazz band added to the wonderful atmosphere and the scrumptious food. The service was very good. The sour cream scones melted in my mouth. The famous burger deserves it's reputation.

For food, drinks, or a show, this place is awesome!

By DanTheMan |

I’ve been to this venue to see many shows, movie events, like a Frozen singalong for kids a few years back, and brunch. The staff is always friendly, the bar offers great options, and the food is delicious and reasonably priced. This is a really cool intown place and they host some great bands.

Great food and live music

By jdespain47 |

We tried a variety of different dishes and none of them disappointed. We went on Tuesday and wine bottles were 1/2 off. Had a great bottle of Italian wine. Once the music starts it is loud, but the musicians are very talented. Glad we were able to visit. We did have slow service, but if you’re looking for great food you should try it. I’m sure it was just an off night for our waiter.

Venkman Valentine debacle

By EricAndLatrice |

After carefully researching for a nice restaurant to take my wife for the weekend. I chose Venkman for our Valentine weekend kickoff. After being seated by the hostess we waited patiently while server after server walked pass our table without so much as a nod of recognition, 25 minutes later I approached the hostess again and asked that since this was our first time visiting their establishment was there some sort of protocol to recieve service? I then requested to see a manager and was shortly greeted at our table by a server who we could barely hear, give us a half-hearted apology and the excuse that there was confusion on which section was hers. Finally a manager, whom we had observed standing idlely close by, approached us with even more excuses and yet another half-hearted apology for our disservice, but did not once offer a comp of anything. What upset us even more is that neither our server nor the manager greeted us by offering their name, we had to ask as if it were a secret, unacceptable. Let me be clear, to avoid the rush we booked our reservation for 6:30, and called ahead to inform them we would arrived 15 minutes late because of traffic on Freedom Pkwy. The hostess said that was fine because the next reservation for our table was not until 8:30. So when we arrived there were more empty tables than occupied ones, the live show wasn't scheduled to began for almost 3 hours. We could almost forgive this seeming oversight if it were packed, busy and loud, but none of those conditions existed. Their attitude seemed to suggest that they didn't care whether we stayed or left , so we left never to return. There are over 3400 other eating establishments in Atlanta so we proceeded to find one that valued our patronage with a warmer and more professional approach. You can't miss what you never had so we won't miss this place at all and recommend that you bypass them also.

Delicious Brunch

By KellyAnne H |

This place put me in a delightful carb induced food coma. I was super bummed that the Caramel Bacon rolls were no longer on the menu, but the Blueberry Lemon Ricotta donuts our table shared as a brunch starter almost made up for it. I was looking for a non-fussy start to the day so I just had the Cheddar Biscuits and a side of Bacon for my breakfast. Everyone else's meal choices must have been good because our conversation deteriorated into oohs and ahhs and grunts of pleasure. By the time the band was set up, it was time for Sunday morning cocktails. Bloody Mary's got mixed reviews and my mimosa was pretty much what you'd expect. Our server wasn't the most engaged, but other staff stopped by and checked in on us with a little more enthusiasm. We'd come back for the food and music.

Nice Restaurant in Midtown

By Suria_Nataadmadja |

We were here for a brunch. We were at the right place. A place where young people hang out but that day the man at the piano played old jazzy tunes and the wall showing movies from the old mute era. Foods were very nice, service also okay but seemed understaffed. Good choices of meals on the menu.

Friday Night Music and Food! Fun!!

By JoelTifton |

Great music with owner, Nick performing John Lennon acoustic review and some really great food. We had a couple of appetizers with warm feta skillet and pita with hummus. My favorite was the feta with warmed cheese, nuts, beets and strawberries. Oh, man!! My wife had the crunchy salad which was excellent and a good match to the heavier appetizer. My daughter and I shared a burger that was crazy with slaw and cheese and pretzel roll. Pretty heavy dish and I got the fries with it and these were excellent. My other daughter had the noodle bowl special which was very interesting. We really enjoyed the acoustic music with Nick doing all the Lennon and old Beatle favorites. Fortunately it was loud enough in the restaurant to not hear my song along! This is a great place with some great talented chefs.

Brunch, dinner, music - it has it all.

By IstanBucket |

I've been here on every trip home. What an amazing menu! There is a lot of variety here and the food is always fresh and yummy. The brunch is phenomenal and the music is always excellent. The staff are friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this friendly local hangout.

Dinner with friends

By Scott M |

We met here for an early dinner on a Saturday night with another couple. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The menu is small but with some real gems. We started with the eggplant and Brie- excellent for a group. We had the wondeful fried chicken and lamb Cuban sandwich. Both were amazing! We could not stay later but Yacht Rock Review played here later that night.

Musical Haven

By Candeeluve |

Stumbled in Venkman's on a Tuesday night. Was working in the area and was looking for a place with good food/atmosphere. Googled and saw rave reviews for this place. What I did not know was there would be live music. However, Venkman's takes it a step further because the audience is filled with so many singers and musicans who bravely join the performing band. Great experience and highly recommended if you are looking for an extraordinary time. Had the pan-seared salmon. This restaurt is on the Old Fourth Ward district and has private parking.

Great music, food, and cocktails

By CaptTrouble |

We went here on the first evening of our short vacation to celebrate having some time off and to see Joe Gransden's Jazz ensemble. We were seated to the side of the stage away from the bar. Although servers took awhile to get to us through the crowd, it was a great view of the musicians. Plus, when they were off stage, they were standing right next to us. We had very good sound even though we were on the side. We weren't terribly hungry so we had a huge salad and another smaller dish that was more like a stew. Both were great. Service was good even though patrons made it difficult for servers to get through the crowd. We definitely plan to go back.

Great time!

By rob r |

Visited venkman's for the first time last night with a couple friends, and got to enjoy their live music. Great food, awesome service (from Jessi), and delicious drink (down yonder on the chatahoochie)! Five stars all around, be back soon!

Brunch!!

By JoelTifton |

We stopped here on way through Atlanta and had a great Sunday brunch. This is a new restaurant in Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward retaking the space of the former NuGrape Soda Factory. The restaurant is managed on the food side by Chef Nick Melvin and co-owned by him and some members of Yacht Rock Revue. The food is serious and not just bar food though the evening hours appears to combine music, food, drink and good times. We ate at their first Sunday brunch and our group had cornmeal pancakes, chicken and grits, Indiana State Fair Breakfast, Georgia Hot Brown. Please see the photos, but these were large, filling dishes with a lot of ingredients for the palate and other senses. The waitstaff was excellent and food was brought out fresh and hot. The dining area is combined with sit down counter service that overlooks the kitchen, as well as another corner area housing their bar. They do have their pouring permit now and the bar is well stocked. There was no live music on Sunday, but music was provided by one of the band members spinning vinyl 33's. One downside, (or upside, depending on your preference) is that the place is open and somewhat noisy for big table conversation. The parking is adequate, but I imagine would get tight on a busy night. Give it a try!

The best brunch in Atlanta

By David H |

Great service and amazing food. Our family had a wonderful brunch on a recent Sunday and the food was stellar. Fresh, inventive, delicious. The Huevo Rancheros, the blueberry donuts to start, etc..... all perfect. Staff was friendly and efficient too. Great place.

Great service and meal

By Deborahhanna |

Saturday night music with great drinks and service. It was a sold out show which meant the place was packed. Our waitress Sparkle was great. At no time did we need and want for anything. The experience would have just been average if it wasn't for the service. Sorry we had dinner elsewhere earlier so did not really look of he entree menu. We had the cheese cake which was great, The live band was fun and everyone had a good time. I was on the fence about the place to begin with but was won over with the service. Will be back again soon!!!

Business Dinner

By HCJACC |

Local Beer and Food restaurant. good vibe and atmosphere in this restaurant that has a center stage for music and other acts appearing. Food very good, service was good and the story telling time on Tuesday night was a great experience. Devil egg appetizer was very good, 3 entrees 1) pan fried chicken with a honey glaze was Excellent, Ma ?? Chicken Special was very good and the Burger plate was very good. drinks were excellent as well. Friendly adult atmosphere, the night we were there due to story time subject matter, but could take family there and would recommend for any family, group etc.

Great Brunch

By Mari M |

We had a lovely Easter brunch at Venkman's. Our party of four split the sticky bun (a cinnamon roll with a sweet topping and oecans) and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Two of us had the poutine: a potato dish with cheese curds, maple syrup, and mushrooms topped with a yummy thyme gravy. One tried the champagne breakfast: two over easy eggs, sausage, roasted potatoes, a tender biscuit, and a dollop of house-made strawberry-balsamic jam. One had the gooey, wonderful bacon jam and cheese (goat, gruyere, and white cheddar) on sourdough grilled sandwich with house-made pickles and a salad. We also split an order of their thick applewood bacon. Coffee was strong, tea was good and served with honey, and service by Dan was friendly and professional. The decor is comfortable and aesthetically pleasing, noise level acceptable, and the staff seems dedicated to ensuring that guests enjoy their meals. We had a great experience and look forward to returning.

Who ya gonna call?.... Venkman's takes center stage

By rocco21 |

Recently opened Venkman's is a very promising Restaurant and Live Music Venue in the heart of Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward where the artsy and the eclectic elements of this city are finding new fertile ground! Go for just drinks or just music or for the full monty: eats, drinks and music! Atmosphere: unique, spacious, upscale-comfortable. Subtle lighting, notable wood craftsmanship, open chef’s station and a cool theme of VOX Amplifier grill-cloth set into side panels of the warmly spot-lit stage. Felt in place being dressed in "nice casual” (dressed-up jeans), but would have felt equally in place dressed-up for a special occasion. 2 of the 3 partners, both members of Atlanta’s most popular live music band, "Yacht Rock Revue,” along with their 3rd partner, a notable local chef, are giving music lovers AND foodies a place to come together. I believe Venkman's is on its way to being the new Atlanta "place to be seen" and no doubt Atlanta's growing film industry is going to find their cast and crew wanting a table here after a long day on the set. MUSIC offerings are excellent - all types featured EXCEPT the tired and worn out type. Loved seeing Yacht Rock Revue and other musical artists performing here, each hand-picked to give you a truly unique experience. SERVICE was outstanding. FOOD was outstanding (American comfort classics with a modern twist): Shirmp and Grits (cooked to perfection), Roasted Brussel Sprouts (crispy yet cooked thru ala dente vs raw, burnt, or overly sweet as many chefs err) Smoked Trout Beignet appetizers…NOT a fish lover, so very surprised how light and delicious they were (even the dipping sauce was a taste sensation), Mushroom Lettuce Caps (complex flavor without out-performing the mushroom headliner), addictive French Fries, (which came with my friend’s) Pastrami-Wurst Sandwich on Pretzel Bun, (which he reported was very good) Menu offers 3 portion levels of delights: eating light ($5 sides), appetizers/small plate sharing ($7 - $11) and full meal entrées ($11- $25). Brunch offered now on weekends (with music) but I have not been there for this yet. If you are SMOOTHLY “HIP ," you are going to feel right at home here whether you come just to sip spirits, hear music, dine, or all 3. if you aren't so smooth or hip yet, you WILL BE after you come here...it's a feel-good vibe. Looking forward to more smooth moments at Venkman’s.

My hubby’s bday and he decided

By Julie R |

My hubby’s bday and he decided to go here to listen to live music in a cozy atmosphere. It was great. Music selection was awesome with songs from the late 70’s. We had the hummus dip with very fresh veggies and chicken wings. Both were very tasty. We ordered a few cocktails which were great also. Our waiter was very attentive. We will definitely go back again.

Watering It Down

By Brian M |

I was excited to finally check out Venkman's, as I am happy to support businesses that promote musicians. It took about 30 minutes to get a server to help us, things happen, so no big deal. It was so hot, we were not given water. Not a big deal. The food was pretty good. I think aside from the difficulty getting service was the watered down drinks. The drinks are not cheap, so when I ask for a vodka on the rocks from the bartender and different staff, I was surprised that a lot of soda water got added everytime. At least 50% soda and 50% vodka. It's a great way for them to make money, it's not very smart if they expect customers to return after being taken advantage of. If you go, stick to beer.

Live music

By Strifez28 |

We went to Venkman's for the live music, which was enjoyable. I wasn't a fan of the menu and had trouble finding something that fit my palate. I did enjoy the Honeysuckle Gelato Peppermint Patty Sandwich.

Great food and live entertainment - unique in Atlanta!

By 699JaneM |

My husband and I are big Yacht Rock fans, so we were excited to try their new restaurant concept. I was expecting it to be a concert venue that served food, but it's actually a really good restaurant with a stage/dance floor in the middle - so equal parts food/music. It was Beatles night, so we basically got to see a free concert while we dined on some super tasty cast iron fried chicken and smoked trout beignets with celery Slaw, apple Ketchup. They just opened, so no liquor license yet - so BYOB for the immediate future. We will be back!

Live music and amazing food

The atmosphere, performers and overall dining experience is top notched. I suggest people follow their social media for updates.

A delightful brunch with live terrific music!

By annetteKramer |

With friends, we truly enjoyed our "Breakfast/Brunch" @ ~~ 1pm@ Venkman's which is located in the heart of Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward. Such an upcoming area which is exciting and lovely. We all enjoyed the Champaign Breakfast and even though we all had our eggs prepared differently, the bacon, potatoes and biscuit was so good. The music was an added delight ... even watching the energetic dancers! :)

Covid altered atmosphere and food offerings

By Rock Star Traveler |

I went to Venkman's on regular basis before the pandemic. Loved it. It was an intimate, sophisticated and down-to-earth spot for great live music. There was a small stage, tables for dining, a bar area and a great menu. It was a dinner- and-a-show kind-of place, which is very lacking in Atlanta. The pandemic was obviously hard for restaurants and performance venues, and as a result, Venkman's was closed for a long time. I just revisited and was a bit turned off by the flashing lights and new/larger stage that felt more like a club than cozy neighborhood music hangout. Plus, it was really crowded when I was there and didn't feel comfortable being inside the building for various reasons. With that said, I do like the owners and support live music. But just further disappointed that the great menu at Venkman's has been replaced with Mexican catering from a restaurant down the street -- including for brunch. There's just something unsettling about listening to jazz while eating a taco. I'm sure it is hard to find kitchen staff and maybe the owners are keeping expenses down for now, just not feeling new scene or food, and unlikely I'll be back anytime soon. And not to drive a nail in the coffin, it was also really difficult finding parking on a Saturday night, which wasn't an issue before.

Great unique find

Not your ordinary place but worth the visit. The mussels are so good, hush puppies, carrots great to share and I had the trout. Served in a light corn meal dredge and a nice assortment of pickled peppers with nuts and black beans, unreal. And the the goat cheese cheesecake and a great port. Yes I am happy. We were a party of six and everyone had a great experience. I did not try them but me friends said the toco dish was very good. A five minute ride from downtown and well worth it!

Lunch was not good/Music was great

Ok...Father's Day Brunch...ordered Dad's Bucket of Fried Chicken. Horrible is the best word for it. The breading was harder than a medieval suit of armor. The meat inside nothing special. One leg and a thigh.....what happened to white meat. Pickled veggies were fine. Side of potatoes average. Ice Tea terrible.

Great jazz but mediocre food

Venkman's has great jazz on Tuesday nights at 8 pm till close, with no cover charge. I highly recommend it. Unfortunately the food is disappointing. The brisket melt sandwich, although highly recommended, had very little meat. Fries are good. The house charcuterie snack plate also was disappointing, with a limited selection and a poor presentation. Service is good. I recommend this venue for drinks and the jazz. Please remember to tip the musicians generously.

Don't miss this gem

Sunday Jazz Brunch was amazing. The food was excellent the atmosphere was enticing and the service was great. They also have music venues throughout the week as well as trivia. It's a local Neighborhood Place and a must go to. There's outside dining and it is pet friendly.

Dinner and a show!!

Brunch

This is a great, local, unique hidden gem in Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward. They have an open concept, warehouse/industrial feel dining room with a large stage on one side that utilizes the space perfectly with live music. They also have a patio outside for dining. It can be a little loud if you are trying to have a conversation, but the musicians do break. You can check their website for future scheduled performances. We went for Saturday brunch. They asked if we had a reservation, we were told we didn't need one, and they were able to seat us, but maybe would be a good idea in the future to make one. The brunch menu was a little small, with about eight options, but they did also have an a la carte menu with side items. That being said, the portions were generous and you will not leave hungry. I had the Champagne breakfast which included sausage or bacon, breakfast potatoes, eggs any way, a sour cream biscuit and Miller High Life was a $2 add-on so of course I did that along with the bottomless mimosas. The sausage was a little spicy, I liked it, but not for everyone. The eggs were bland, and the biscuit and potatoes were delicious. The service was a little slow, but our waitress also was sat a large table of 12 along with her other tables. It wasn't her fault, just could have used a little more staff. She was friendly, personable and down to earth. I would definitely come here again and try something else or at dinner time for other options.
