Best food, best service...a dinner experience on another level!

By DayTrip60199303359 |

The food is amazing! From the wonderful Caesar Verdadera Salad to the world's best Fajitas. We had both the beef and the chicken and would be hard pressed to choose one over the other. Flavorful, tender, with complex guacamole and salsa and perfect molle. Wow. Mexican food elevated to its best self. And then we had the trio of desserts because who could pass on 6 Leches Cake, Margarita Lime Pie and Burnt Milk Candy fudge. Just do it (And ask for Brandon as your server! Friendly and professional.)

Unique Mexican menu in a trending locale

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful third-anniversary dinner at the opening of the newest restaurant at The Grove at Shoal Creek! With the unique menu options, we decided to go vegetarian. We selected the Mole Tasting and Huitlacoche & Wild Mushrooms as appetizers, and for entrees we had the Verdura Mixta Fajitas and the Vegan Relleno. Dessert was the Verdad Burnt Milk Candy. All the items were so delicious and flavorful! And the staff were very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back to try the other selections!

Amazing Vibes

Absolutely loved the vibes and great food. Went for a birthday dinner and service was fantastic. Fiesta board is the way to go cuz you get all the meats. Added the lobster quesadilla and was flavorful but light on lobster. 😊 Loved the leches and chocolate dessert. Mexican Hot Cocoa was different..... wasn't a fan but the burnt milk candy was good. There was a issue with drink served but was addressed immediately by manager. Glad to see it resolved easily. Can't wait to see new additions in the area. Will be back.

Excellent mexican food

we went out for a business dinner on a Wednesday night. We had reservations and we were seated immediately. We had different types of drinks - a couple of us tried the Silver Margarita which was made table side, a ginger/tamarind margarita and some chardonnay. We got different types of fajitas. relleno, guacamole and moles. All awesome - we got a couple of dessert plates - they were good not great. too sweet for my taste.

Wow! We didn’t know what true Modern Mexican food is but now we do. Verda’s is in a great location in an older area of Austin. The lobster fajitas are one of my favorite meals ever! So many choices and all delicious. The service is so welcoming ! Great meal with our family. We will go back

Wonderful Mexican Restaurant at the Grove!

By CharlieinTexas |

Perfect Dining Experience at this recently opened, upscale Mexican restaurant at the Grove in Central Austin. Incredibly inviting menu, lots of seafood and meat offerings, all plated well (see photos), served at the right temperature, and truly delicious. Adam, our server (see photo) was incredibly knowledgeable regarding the menu, accurately described each of the dishes we ordered, and did so in a manner that left my wife and me eagerly anticipating arrival of each offering. The service, beginning with Adam, was fantastic. Water glasses filled in a timely manner, dishes delivered and taken away in a non-intrusive manner, that had impeccable timing. The food? Wow, simply wow. Grilled oysters and zucchini octopus fritters to start. The oysters were nice size, covered in a tasty cheese, and had a tasty, not overpowering seasoning (sauce-like, but not really). The fritters could have been a bit firmer, but were still tasty, and the slaw with the fritters was superb. We ordered the bone in cowboy ribeye — three cheers to the chef — , with bone marrow canoes, and a grilled veggie variety (as a side order). Served with a trio of tasty pico, guacamole, and a smokey (yummy) spread with a slight kick. Yes please. Corn tortillas were the best tortillas, served hot, I have had in recent memory. Really. Good coffee too, bold and served hot. Should add that the margaritas to start were great too and my wife enjoyed her pinot noir. The restaurant is roomy and comfortable, good spacing between the tables, and has a very welcoming (separate) bar area, with some dining table seating too. Any complaints? Nope. Great venue. Great service (thanks Adam!). Truly fantastic food. Candidly, however, this is (on a busy Friday night) not a quiet, romantic venue (although perhaps sitting in a corner might reduce the noise level), nor was this an inexpensive meal. But, that was okay for the two of us, as the delicious food and great service justified the price in my opinion. Valet or garage parking make arrival and departure easy. This restaurant is a great addition to the Austin restaurant scene (and a welcome non-downtown and non-Domain location).

One word: TRUE

True to its word Verdad was a very good experience for my family and I. I went there with my father and girlfriend, and we really enjoyed the food. Thomas what is our waiter and he did a spectacular job. My girlfriend and I shared the garlic shrimp fajitas for two. Not only where we fall but we had leftovers to go. Afterwords, we ordered the churros which were to die for. Highly recommended for anyone that’s looking for very good local Tex-Mex. Please review pictures for more.

Missed the Mark

The food is good, but the experience and amount of food never lives up to the higher prices. The service is average and the drinks are not high quality for the prices. They put a lot of ice in the drinks and fill them up 3/4 of the glass. The drinks are pre-made so the taste is not authentic.

Good if you are around

Upscale restaurant in a hip, new part of Austin. I enjoyed the delicious chips and guacamole and also the high end drinks. Worth it if you are in the area but don’t go out of the way.
