My best meal in Miami

By zarknyc |

Although it was raining cats and dogs during lunch, and the staff was running around trying to accomodate all the patrons, they put us in a dry location, where we had our best meal in the 3 weeks we spent in Miami. First we warmed up with a bowl of soup. Then we each had our own entree (see bill) which we enjoyed. Service was excellent. I'd go back without question.

Verde

By 387indy |

Verde is located at the Perez Art Museum. It sets on Biscayne Bay, with beautiful views, a good staff and good food.

Unparalleled setting with excellent food.

By MFT12371 |

Perez Museum in Miami is exceptional. Tropical and urban setting with delicious food. The service was above average but not exceptional and a very minor point is that they should sell Florida lobster and not Maine lobster but this is a very minor point.

Great Brunch

By zacharytegtmeier |

I will start by saying the only reason I didn't give this a 5 was due to my feeling that there should be a little more food for the price. Great drinks, great food, exceptional view, just somewhat pricey.

Tasty food and wonderful views

By Joseph C |

The restaurant in PAMM offers very tasty food and wonderful views, We highly recommend it even as a destination for dining when not visiting the museum (which itself is a fantastic collection of contemporary art.)

Excellent brunch

By SusanMochnacs |

Even if you're not planning to go to the museum, this restaurant is worth a visit. We had an excellent brunch there and then afterwards, enjoyed the park-like grounds and swings overlooking the bay. I had the gazpacho to start, which was fantastic. The goat cheese and squash blossom pizza was very good but the crust could have been cooked a bit longer so it didn't get soggy toward the middle. But the dough was perfectly fermented-- just a touch-- for a nice sourdough flavor. My husband had the pancakes, which-- no joke-- were probably the best we've ever had in a restaurant. The portions were also very generous, which isn't too common in Miami. I also enjoyed a guava margarita. It was a touch on the sweet side, but mmm-mmm, guava!

Terrible greeting, overall service terrible......

By Andrew R |

As we arrived we asked a man at the front desk for a table he was extremely rude, serious and showed no care for us neither the rest of the people around him... He was more concerned about whatever he was looking on his phone, He took us to the table placed the menus on top of the table and walked away without saying anything, the server saw it and tried to make us as confortable as he could but the experience was already ruined by the guy the is according to the server a Manager... The food and view was great but again if you don't enjoy what you do change your job!!!! A smile, a genuine hospitable smile makes experiences.... I never write reviews but I had to do it because he made my clients and I feel like Burger King was a better choice and that's not what we expected....

Nice brunch with great views. Have a Bloody Mary!

By TravelBoomerang |

We enjoyed brunch here today. As others have posted, the Bloody Marys are quite good! Spicy and full of flavor. One (or two) of these will cure what ails ya! For entrees, we opted for the Lobster Benedict (excellent!) and Chicken Under a Brick (good). Seating is inside and outside on the covered, sprawling terrace. The restaurant was busy - make a reservation to ensure you get a table. We each had 2 Bloody Marys, the Lobster Benedict, the Chicken Under a Brick and 2 espressos. The bill, before tip, was $106. The location does not require admission to the museum

Lovely restaurant and food, so good we came back

By Celtic Passport |

We ate twice in Verde on our recent Miami trip. The cafe / restaurant is located as part of the Perez Art Museum and over looks Biscayne Bay. The whole building is an architectural triumph. There is seating available inside and out and we tried both on our visits. The servers are friendly offering water and tap water straight away. The menu is clear and well presented with vegetarian and vegan items clearly stated. The food is lovely and fresh and we tried a variety of salads, pizzas, soup, sides of grilled broccoli with lemon, sweet potato fries and regular fries. There is a cafe attached with coffees and snacks available. There is an ice cream freezer display which contained vegan ice cream! Food was well priced and we enjoyed both visits. We will definitely revisit when in Miami again.

Place is located in a beautiful area by the biscayne bay, views are stunning Food is delicious, service a little slow but it is worth it. After brunch you can visit frost museum and Perez museum, convenient parking

An amazing surprise!

By romazzino |

Tried Verde during a recent visit to the Perez Art Museum Miami. I must say, the food and service at this restaurant is what ended up elevating the overall museum experience. The outside setting and views are great, the buttermilk pancakes unbelievable! the Mediterranean Mezze and grilled Halloumi delish. I would visit the museum "building" just to dine at Verde!

Lovely!

By Reluctant_Traveller2 |

We escaped Miami Beach for a little culture at PAMM. Stopped by this museum bistro for lunch on a whim. It was lovely, the food was delicious and the service was really very good. One of the best experiences I've had of eating in a gallery or museum. I would definitely recommend - oh and lovely views!

Delightful with a great view!

By SharonHum |

Went to Verde for Brunch on a Saturday. I wasn't expecting much because it's inside a museum (Perez Museum of Miami), which normally means it will be adequate for the moment. I was pleasantly surprised with excellent cuisine and a fantastic view overlooking the Port of Miami, the park and the bridge to Miami Beach. For brunch, we ate Lobster Benedict, which came with a small greens salad and the most scrumptious home fried potatoes I ever ate (and I am not a potato freak). Worth a try and every second Saturday of a month you get free admission to the Museum! Both were thumbs up!

Beautiful location

By Kim R |

Had lunch here with a client. We sat outside and enjoyed the view of the harbor. It was spectacular. The restaurant also offers indoor dining too if you prefer the air conditioning. The menu is limited, but there are some nice choices. I had the roasted beet salad with grilled chicken and it was very nice - large and filling. My guest had the chicken under a brick and he really enjoyed it. They offer wine, but we stuck with water. The staff was attentive without being bothersome. My salad was around $20 with the chicken and his lunch was about $25. Not too bad when you consider you're in downtown Miami and at the art museum.

Great venue

By Pineapples-a-Plenty |

While the setting is hard to beat, the menu is pretty basic. A little bit of a fast-food feel. The chardonnay was excellent! We sat outside, and it was delightful. Suggest lunch elsewhere, and then the museum.

Great View Great Service

By Issiah O |

The service was very good for a Sunday on Mothers Day, The view is great and food was also very good.

As good as the museum

By IraAllen |

We planned a visit to PAMM so we thought we would try Verde for brunch. Not knowing what to expect we were not dissappointed. Outstanding service accompanied creative and delicious food. Portions were large. We enjoyed a welll crafted cocktail and an above average chardonnay.

Nice Views, Good Food

By Bobtor1 |

This is a casual restaurant that is part of the new contemporary art museum and is a nice place for brunch. The views over the bay are loveley but the outside tables may be very windy, so you may wish to eat inside if it's not quite warm. The menu is not very large but has adequate choice. Service was a bit iffy. At times there were six servers standing and chatting with each other, suggesting the kitchen may have been having issues getting the food out. It was perhaps half full when we sat down and got busier within the hour. It took longer than expected for our meals to come out but we were enjoying the conversation with friends.

noise

By tarantilla |

avoid outside tables. Expressway is litterly right beside you. Unless you enjoy traffic, eat inside.

Gorgeous view but the food is average

By Naddia's Favorites |

I went for a Sunday brunch, it was convenient as meeting some friends that were leaving on a cruise ship so a perfect location, in all honesty I was expeting the food to be a bit better, I had eggs benedict and they were almost cold and nothing special to it. Convenient if you are going to the PAM museum but would not go back just for the food.

Great restaurant at Perez museum!

By nabeab |

I took my husband to Perez museum and made reservations to eat at Verde. We liked it very much. Perez salad was great, the squash, kale pizza was delisious and dessert was a chocolate bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. The view is beautiful and there was a dj on terrace that was great too! We will definetely go back!

GOOD SERVICE AND AMBIENCE, MEDIOCRE FOOD

By cmschw@comcast.net |

We had lunch today here and found the ambience very nice and the service above average. The pizza was watery and not tasty. Thus our experience here did not meet our primary objective which was to eat good food.

A museum restaurant of exception

By Ruth L |

I took lightly the recommendations about this museum restaurant, by my experience they are rarely as good as Verde. Casual and unpretentious but a varied menu and good service. I had the mussels with chorizo and my partner had the fish tacos, both excellent.

Scamming customers

By Bryan N |

Adding 20% tips in advance for a service you haven’t received or a food or drink you haven’t consumed, it is a scam. Not to mention that they ask for additional tips when paying. I didn’t realized until the end. Certainly wouldn’t be buying there again.

A little taste of heaven

By Americanflygirl |

I loved Verde! I learned about it while touring in the art museum. So glad I ate here. I has the butternut squash, fig and macadamia nut pizza with gorgonzala and fontina cheese. It was amazing! The view here is also amazing when you sit outside! The patio is artistic in itself. The hanging gardens cool the patio and the view of Biscayne Bay is so beautiful! I look forward to going back!

Good place for brunch

By AntoSavarirajan |

The food was good. Both my wife and I liked our dishes. Looks like some of their menu was diff from what we saw on the net. Not a biggie. The place outside the restaurant is very nice with picturesque views.

Horrible

By Danielle M |

Save yourself the time and money, it’s a poor poor experience and extremely overpriced. Bad service too!

Delicious vegan burgers

By Irina K |

Loved it. Not a lot of raw options but good choice of vegan burgers, bowls, salads, etc. Burger tasted great, salad was wonderful as well. We enjoyed our experience there.

Dine artfully al fresco

By JamieRoss |

We made an Open Table reservation for lunch and were seated and served with quick dispatch. We chose to eat outside overlooking the bridges and Bay, and beneath the story high topiary that sways in the ocean breezes. Lunch was exquisite. I had warmed shrimp salad. We shared home made, warm beignet (actually little dollops of doughnut) with two sauces. My guest had thin as air carpaccio. Our Bloody Marys were barely alcoholic, so that's not a recommendation. But you can get intoxicated by the site and the food alone.

Extremely pleasant lunch

By Renata_Figueiredo |

Super nice place next to the Perez Art Museum. Overlooking the lake and very wooded outdoor garden. Food excellent presentation, tasty and excellent place to have a wine. And it has good prices. We loved the place to eat!

Good food and service but a tad pricey

By atman239 |

The views are beautiful and the service was very good. Tomato and watermelon panzanella was delightful; light and clean and perfectly dressed. Chicken sandwich was tasty and the sausage, broccoli rabe and pine nut pizza was very good albeit a little salty.

Perfect

By AstroBoy2012 |

Saturday afternoon lunch by the water in the beautiful Perez Museum, Service attentive, food had some minor flaws as they were getting ready to close, tho it had flavor and presentation, so I consider it a very nice setting for lunch and certainly will be back.

Good food, good place by the Bay

By D'Arrigo |

Nice restaurant, the food is really good, the ambient is casual, but chiq, small, but tables outside. Service very good.

Great for Brunch

By MrGoodEats |

Can't beat the scenery overlooking the bay and to the cruise ship port. Now to the food portion. Everything here is delicious. Period. I usually get the eggs Benedict; perfectly seasoned and flavorful. Staff is friendly and prompt. Go for brunch on a Sunday but do make a reservation as this place gets quite busy.

Great view, great food

By Andres J |

Part of a beautiful build, the PAM Museum in Miami, this restaurant has a great ambiance, fantastic food and wonderful service. Sunday brunch is also very nice.

3rd thursday

By chlene36 |

I had the mahi fish tacos. the chipotle dressing has a bite, so you'll want water or a cold beer on hand. the food was delicious, sitting outdoors was really nice because this is a beautiful building in a great location.

Modern and casual restaurant with a view

By sinfantep |

Verde is a casual restaurant inside the Perez Museum in Miami with inside and outside sit options. Food was simple but good and what I liked the most was the view to Biscayne Bay. Don't forget to ask for an americano at the end of your meal!

Delisious

By A W-B |

The menu has a good selection of light, fresh and healthy dishes. Very tasteful and balanced. Sitting outside there is a noticeable traffic noise from MacArthur Causeway. Otherwise a refreshing breeze from the sea makes you want to stay and have another dive into the menu.

Good service, food just not up to snuff

By Annette F |

To add to our afternoon at the Art Museum we decided to eat at the restaurant, Verde. My daughter and I had enjoyed a crispy margarita pizza several months ago, so I was looking forward to our lunch with friends (who eat there frequently). The waitress was great, well spoken, responsive, and concerned about my husband's needs. My husband ordered the special - a short-rib hash - a favorite of the week. Well, it tasted like it had been sitting for a week. The usual flaky short rib bits were hard and chewy. He was able to find something suitable to substitute it with. I had the chicken under a brick. My friend shared that it's tasty, but oily. Yes, the boneless chicken with smashed potatoes and some green with chimichuri was much too greasy/oily. Our friends decided to share the pizza and a Perez salad. Strangely, the salad had a very bitter aftertaste. When we left, we passed a table where all, but the Perez salad remained uneaten. Again, the server were able to replace our unsatisfactory with the faro salad. Either I don't cook my faro enough or this was way overcooked, mushy. I think the latter. Our conclusion was that something was off with the oil being used in the kitchen to make the chicken too oily, the hash dry and the salad a bitter aftertaste. Next time, we'll bring a picnic and enjoy the veranda with views of the port.

Bad service, worst welcome!

By Conquelo |

The place is nice, the best view in Miami! The food is fine. When it comes to service... They make you feel like they are doing you a favor.

Oasis with a Water View

By shermusa |

After an hour viewing the exciting art exhibitions in the Perez Museum on a very stormy day, we went into Verde knowing nothing about it and hoping for an acceptable lunch. What a surprise to find ourself in a first-class eating venue with attentive service, an exoticish selection, well prepared food, good coffee and a great view. The museum (and restaurant) is easily reachable on the free transportation line called Metro Mover.

Highlight of a Gold Coast art tour

By Ann Hicks M |

The menu was perfect for me...and not the kinds of choices that are easy to find in a beautiful setting outside of art museums, in my experience. A wide variety of choices (see photo) and a beautiful view. The broad covered terrace was perfect on a hot day. Our group of 21 received good service, although it was a busy lunchtime and we would have liked it a little quicker.

Worth seeking out.

By TravellingSMH |

Perfectly complements the Perez. A museum restaurant that has great service and better than you would expect food. We have gone several times and plan to return. Pros--outside dining, make a reservation to avoid a wait. Chicken under a brick, pizzas, mussels. Cons--salads a little dull.

Chopped salad is a rip-off

By Thelonious_G |

We ordered the chopped salad for lunch. It was a bad sign that there were no vegetarian protein options available to add to it. Chickpeas or baked tofu would have been a nice addition. It showed up, with about 6 pepitas on it and a tiny sprinkling of small squares of avocado. It was almost entirely salad greens. My husband said it was "a rip off" for $14. Other tables had crackers, but none were brought with this salad. Big disappointment.

I suspect I would write a better review if I hadn’t had to wait 45 mins for a club sandwich.

By TourMD |

After a disappointing visit to the museum we decided to have lunch there to cheer us up. Apparently you should get a reservation as the place was pretty empty but the host seemed to be having difficulty finding the three of us a table. Pleasant waiter (Philippe) took order. 40 mins later he was apologizing to us. The kitchen lost the order. It was only for club sandwiches! Asked for hot tea (can get cold even on a hot day in the shade at the outside tables) and was surprised all three pots of hot water had large cracks in them. Time for some new pottery! Philippe your politeness and the way you handled the situation saved the place from a really lousy review!

delicious perfect meal

By RifkaRM |

What a delight! Even if you don´t visit the museum (which you must) you have to come to this gorgeous delicious restaurant. Food is so fresh and recipes are original (the pizza is to die for) and the service is great. The view is spectacular, we could sit there all afternoon... everything was just perfect.

Verde for brunch

Very nice location with good food and drink for brunch on Sundays. Wonderful setting and location.Very recommendable for a change in brunch location in Miami, away from the city noise and rumble

Inspired Chews + Views

By Jane H |

On a recent visit to the museum to see exhibitions, we made a special date of Sunday brunch to catch up beforehand. This elegantly designed restaurant can fill up quickly, especially during the season, (Thanksgiving through Memorial Day) so I highly suggest making advance reservations. We arrived early, cruising through PAMM’s fabulous gift shop on the way. Our delightfully cool, indoor (air conditioned) table was ready without a wait. Plentiful seating was also available outside on their patio, with both dining areas offering sweeping views of Biscayne Bay. The waiter saw to us immediately and was thoughtful enough to bring a water bowl for my small service dog, without having to be asked. I’ve always had excellent service here and this trip was no exception. Verde offers a selection of handcrafted cocktails which feature fresh ingredients and top shelf labels, in addition to fine wines and ales. I rarely eat eggs or meat, so brunch can be a tricky meal for me. I opted for a starter of tuna tartare with horseradish and potato crisp — which while fresh, was a very small portion (even for an appetizer) and a little too spicy for my taste. My friend ordered the Pérez Chopped salad, a melange of Romain, radicchio, corn, pepitas, garbanzo beans, cucumber, carrot, avocado, and Parmesan, with a Green Goddess dressing. All just okay except the chickpeas were MIA. Her husband chose wisely and enjoyed one of the various pizzas featured on the menu. His was a sausage and Ricotta with kale pesto and chili flake. You just cannot go wrong with one of Verde’s artisanal pies. The very best item however, was the dessert of a Greek yogurt Panna cotta drizzled with a fresh mango sauce flecked with chili, and topped with micro greens, which was extremely tart and very tasty! I’ve had inspired meals here in the past, and although this was a good one too, I’m not sure I will return for Sunday brunch again.

Great overall experience

By Annette F |

Verde is the restaurant in the Perez Art Museum in downtown Miami. Welcome the new chef and her tasty and beautiful food. I was there with a group and our meal was preordered. Truthfully, the food, the serving, the atmosphere were amazing. Just a sampling of what we enjoyed were the artist's palette, a sampling of colorful dips served with really good bread; Street Corn Arancini, they kindly brought me a serving without the bacon; the brick chicken was delicious; one in our party thought the short rib ragu served on pappardelle was the best ever. My favorite was the Mojito Cubano Tiradito, a ceviche with jello shots. The desserts are a sight to be seen - I'm partial the pavlovas, this one is delicious, though a touch too sweet. Get lunch here when you visit the museum or just make Verde your destination and enjoy the views of yachts and cruise ships at the port.

TERRIBLE! DISGUSTING!

By jaquelinexxx |

The hostess didnt know how greet customers - were just talking to each other. The girl at the cafe didn't know how to explain the menu. All acting like "doing you a huge favor by stopping their chats with colleagues and helping you". I just left and didnt eat anything! NEVER AGAIN! I will bring my own food ans sit by the pic nic/park next time.

Good healthy food, great service, nice views

By RICARIZA |

A place in Miami with a calm atmosphere. Good for brunch, lunch and night drinks. It has the ambience of the museum, modern, quiet and contemporary. The menu is not big but with excellent options. The service is excellent, prices are very reasonable and the food very good. We recommend the under a brick chicken and the red snapper and both were excellent. I will definitely return many times.

Verde

By Nancy W |

We had a nice morning / afternoon. We started the day at Miami Museum (parked corner of West Second Avenue and West Flagler - 2nd floor Walkover to Museum). Used the metro mover and went to Verde and after lunch, visited PAMM. Verde - Service was excellent. Beautiful location overlooking Bay. Afterwards, we walked along path toward Heat/American Airlines and jumped back on the Metro Rail to head back to the Museum, where we parked.

Great location, very good food, innovative menu and stellar service.

By Rebecca D |

After viewing the various exhibits and some of the permanent collection at the Perez Museum, it was another work of art to have lunch outside on Biscayne Bay. Verde had an innovative menu while covering some of the favorites with a good, modern twist. They have a nice wine selection as well to complement the dishes. We shared a pizza that had both seasoned sausage and ricotta cheese with a drizzling of a kale pesto. The crust was that happy medium between too thin and too thick and had a wonderful flavor as well. We had decided to split the chopped salad that had chick peas, hearts of palm, carrot with very fresh greens and sprinkled lightly with a nice sweet red pepper. The salad is good sized for one person, so keep that in mind when ordering. Great service - it helps to know some French as several people working at the restaurant and the museum are native Creole speakers. You won't likely know Creole, but they will understand and appreciate your French!

Good Espresso

By Reasonable50 |

Ordered a double espresso from the counter. It was very good. I was told I had to sit out away from the restaurant in the public seating if I only wanted coffee, but that was OK. It was a lovely day. Banishment was beautiful : ).

Mmm

By BigoBoca |

Delightful wait staff and a very current menu make this a destination restaurant. The menu has something that should please anyone. From burgers, to pizzas, and tasty salads, Verde uses great ingredients and it all feels fresh and healthy. If that's not enough, the setting completes a great meal.

Great spot,horrible customer service!

By l0urdes6 |

Horrible customer service although the waiter Alberto was great and the food was good. Hostess and manager were rude, after we missed our text because of terrible signal.Anyway, stood there in front of her and she never thought to ask can I help you. Made us wait an additional 10 min. after waiting 40 min for a table. Spoke to the manager which never made eye contact. I stated not a fault issue, rather poor attention to the customer. Very disappointed. I did not receive an apology even for the long wait. Staff needs better training on how to treat people, especially paying customers.

I would happily eat here every day!

By OAFB |

I have eaten at more museum restaurants than I can recall, but have never had a meal as memorable as the one my friend and I had after visiting the extraordinary Perez Museum. We decided to have lunch at Verde because it was raining and the place was convenient. Well, thank goodness for the rain! Not only was the service excellent and unobtrusive, the food was some of the best I've ever had anywhere. We shared a zucchini, goat cheese, gruyere and squash blossom pizza with a very fine crust that was the stuff of dreams - and about which I will probably continue to dream about for a long while. We also had a pickled beets, goat cheese, arugula, pistachio salad that was the perfect compliment to the pizza. Pickled beets! I didn't know anybody could make those better than the ones my grandmother has made from a recipe handed down through generations. You don't have to pay for admission to the museum to gain access to the restaurant, which if I lived in Miami would mean I would be a regular at this little jewel of a restaurant. If you are in the downtown area, you can easily get to the museum via the Trolley or the Metro Mover, free methods of public transportation.

lovely spot outside the Perez on the water

By MikeBirdman |

Sat outside on the water. very pleasant. Good service. I had a pizza of fig and hazelnut and butternut squash. was lovely. a bit too large for one which did not stop me eating it. Surprisingly not expensive for being attached to a museum.

Good food, good service, good views

By Angela C |

Stopped in to chill out after a visit to the PAMM. Decided to get some drinks and some snacks from our great waiter, Dan. My husband LOVED his Bloody Mary. I really enjoyed the tuna tartar and mini doughnuts. Highly recommend a visit even if art museums aren't your thing.

Get the style right for heavens sake

By Kate G |

This restaurant has an expensive menu for the amount of cooking that goes on. Pretty lame. Our salad for example included brown lettuce edges…just bagged greens with some dressing. Weird? Not restaurant food. And the service! We ordered happy hour wine and it took ages for them to deliver it to the table. Something about having to go to the basement. Unacceptable. But worst of all they had hired a rock band to accompany our dinner. When would that ever be appropriate? So loud you couldn’t talk outside! And real rock! Boom boom boom rock! Dinner requires at most acoustic guitar with soft bossa nova. Not rock bands. But when I protested to manager she claimed some people came just for her award winning band. Stupid. Concerts at the Arscht might provide a preconcert dinner crowd but not with teen band culture. Are you out of your minds?!?

Delicious food and beautiful view

By Jennifer D |

I went here twice and definitely enjoyed the amazing view and delicious food, the staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is just so relaxing! Big thanks to the Manager John!

Ahhmazing

By Tracy S |

First off the views and space of the restaurant are amazing! Such great atmosphere. The food runner answered every question as he would bring food to tables. Our server was friendly, accommodating and just really wonderful. Danny the manager, was even more amazing. He was so kind, friendly and gave us lots of info on the menu. The food…..everything we had was better than the next! Tuna Carpaccio, Butternut Squash, the Mushrooms, the Salmon Benedict, the Blueberry Pancakes!!! I could go on and on! Definable must do for brunch or lunch!

An Immaculate Scenery and fantastic Brunch

By Kerlyn W |

We stumbled upon Verde during our trip to Miami. What can I say ... Magnifique!!! As usual my boyfriend and I shared our meals so we can both critique each other's meals. My boyfriend who loves Ceviche of course chose the Shrimp Ceviche which was absolutely delightful. While I'm not a huge fan of Ceviche I will say I did take more than my sample one bite. My boyfriend however has said that Verde's shrimp Ceviche is definitely one of the best he has had. I on the other hand had a grilled chicken sandwich (because I'm a bore). However, I must say that all of the flavors of my sandwich were delightful. We also ordered a Margarita Pizza for my nephew and it was quite lovely. But of course what was the icing on the cake for this location is a the immaculate view you enjoy during this dining experience. We did have quite a wait for our meal and so I have given this location 4 stars, however, we will definitely be back on our next trip to Miami.

Great food, incredible views - amazing service.

By Alessandra P |

This past Sunday, my husband and I enjoyed brunch at Verde. Our server Ralph couldn't have been nicer, more welcoming or attentive. The restaurant is located at the Perez Art Museum which offers water views expanding from the McArthur causeway to the port of Miami, which is lined by cruise ships. The food was delicious and even though it was a little pricey ($12 per cocktail, $16 for their burger), we'll gladly pay it again for the ambiance and top-notch service. Ask for Ralph as your server!

Fabulous Food, Views and Staff!

By Tammy K |

I can't say enough about this restaurant. From the food to the staff, everything was excellent! They have a new menu and we tried many dishes from a variety of the veggie dishes (mushrooms, tomatoes, butternut squash - OMG SO GOOD!) to salads, tuna carpaccio, roasted salmon and salmon eggs Benedict, and let's not forget the pancakes and fresh berries and cream. Our server was wonderful but the manager Danny was INCREDIBLE!! Not to mention the views! We will be back!! Thank you Danny!!

Tastefully Simple - Hidden Kitchen

By Dmelul |

This place is hidden tastefully kitchen. Dishes are simple but very well done. We got their special chicken chimichurri, fish tacos(our favorite), "zetas" or mushrooms as an appetizer and dessert. The atmosphere is really nice for a date night with open spaces, bridge/water views, cool swingers and nice distance to walk and talk... I strongly recommend this place for an early afternoon date night, as it close at 9pm.

Poor food and poor service

By Lockmk |

This was not very enjoyable, from start to finish. We got seated but our server didn't provide a drinks list until asked, twice. She also forgot to mention the specials. The food for our party of 4 arrived plate by plate. First my daughter's grilled cheese. Then, after a couple of minutes my plate and my son's burger. My wife's salad (the quickest to prepare) was nowhere in sight. Our server returned a couple of times to say it was 'on it's way' and, eventually, it arrived. It was a mess. It has been hastily assembled and was very unappetizing to look at. The shrimp she had added as an option looked barely cooked and had been sliced in half. This was not 'butterflied', as our server described. Then another server dropped a full glass of water while cleaning up the table adjacent to us and half the kitchen staff descended to clean it up creating an enormous fuss; totally unnecessarily. The manager appeared and removed my wife's plate from the bill and we paid and left. None of the food was very interesting and the place seemed barely organized. It's a shame, as the location is perfect for lunch while visiting the museums.

Delicious but expensive food

By SLynnS03 |

A great location overlooking the bridge and bay. The menu selection is very small however the food is great. There was a band playing on the balcony and the ambiance is wonderful.

Terrace Luncheon

By Steven S |

Lunch on the terrace is great for the view but the noise from the highway made it difficult to hear the conversation at our table for six. Sit inside by the window for a more peaceful environment. Potato soup was a bit too thick for my taste, but the salad were all great and the fish tacos were a hit with our group.

Great View.

By Barrett |

Fabulous open outdoor space… Hanging gardens and a view of the bay. Not necessary to pay to enter the museum or even to eat in the restaurant to enjoy the large area which also has sporadic seating. This is a good thing since the food is mediocre and, as such, over-priced. There is also indoor seating as well as a casual coffee bar. Indoor access is through the gift shop so you can add a little shopping to your lunch or brunch.

OK but ....

By Catherine |

Service was overall very good. Pizza was tasty--thin crust. We didn't have too much luck with a couple of our salads. The Verde Farro Bowl with cucumber was a big bowl of farro, and hardly any visible cucumber to speak of. The Perez Chopped Salad was rather tasteless. Fortunately I ordered chicken for it, so that made improved it. They did not provide enough salad dressing for the chopped salads and we had to request additional dressing which even then was not enough. I cannot comment on the other dishes, which look good on the menu, however, if I ever visit again, I would not have a meal at the Museum. There's a coffee, juice and pastry counter which I would recommend visiting after touring the museum and then enjoying the cup of coffee outside in the seating area that overlooks the bay.

Very family-friendly & vegan-friendly, fresh dishes

By HungryHoneymooners |

We stopped in on a busy holiday afternoon for lunch and were quickly seated outside on the lovely patio. Our toddler was given a high chair, crayons and kids’ menu instantly and we were able to enjoy the nice ambience. Vegan-friendly options are Actually denoted on the menu and they are plentiful! I will be trying to recreate the brussels sprouts dish for months now! :-) Great, tasty, fresh food for both vegans and omnivores.

Delightful Saturday Brunch

By asora10066 |

It was a beautiful day with a fabulous breeze with great food and conversation. What more can you ask for!! Our waitress recommended the short ribs which we shared along with French Toast and a side of grilled Garcia sausages which are a local brand. I would have given the restaurant 5 stars but the French Toast came way before the savory dish. Nevertheless this is a fantastic restaurant with amazing views. Afterwards we strolled through the museum; A perfect way to end the day.

Amazing View, Excellent Service.

By Guadalupe777 |

This restaurant is a must for special occasions! Can't beat the amazing view of the bay with Miami's skyline altogether. Nice cocktails! Excellent Service (Thank you to Rocio -our waitress- for making a b'day celebration very special!). This one time I found the food not to be as good as in previous occasions. I will come back though.

A true gem

By CristinaAtlanta_Ga |

Located in the not-to-be-missed new museum for Latin American contemporary art, the Perez, in wonderful structure designed by Swiss architects Herzog and de Meuron, on the water, with simple but inventive food. Both indoor and outdoor seating. A terrific addition to the Miami offerings in culture and gastronomy. Go for it!

Good & Will Get Better

By omegaet |

So, this is our second time dining at Verde and we'll likely tray again in a few months. The menu, fresh and light, is limited and may not suit demands for fine dining in Miami. Currently, the focus is on lunch (only serving dinner on Thursday evenings, when the Pérez Art Museum Miami remains open until 9:00pm) and weekend brunch/lunch service. In speaking with restaurant management, it is obvious the menu is still in a state flux, and subtractions and additions will be made as the market dictates. One aspect that will likely continue to attract new customers as well as keep experienced diners returning, is THE VIEW! What an impressive waterfront vista, whether visiting day or night. Even a marginally acceptable glass of wine or a beer is substantially improved while gazing across the waters of government cut at cruise ships or the dancing lights of Miami Beach in the far distance. Stephen Starr, operator of Verde, has a strong track record in catering and restaurant operations and will continue to demand improvements. Looking forward to our return visit!

Easy and relax

By Angus L |

The restaurant is located right inside the Perez art museum in the museum park. There are seatings inside and outside , which is a god idea as the weather could get humid often in Miami. The staff are friendly and good service. The busiest time of the restaurant is during the bunch time on the weekend. Very simple menu offered for breakfast and lunch. However , you can get quiet full since it's nice portion. If you are the museum member , show your card and get 10% off discount. There's also a take out coffee bar right next to it and you can grab a quick bite. It's a must visit museum while you are in Miami , and the restaurant offers a great place to relax and to recharge.

Good

The sweet potato pancakes were very moist but they had no flavor of sweet potato. The cranberry topping is a nice complement to the pancakes. I received 3 large pancakes for $14 so the menu is pricey.

All About the VIEW....

By Michael A |

Wow....what a spot. A full 180 beautiful view of the bay at your feet...you have the option to eat in, or order from the coffee bar and take out to eat on the steps overlooking the bay (the view is also amazing from the indoor dining room). Great espresso coffee here if that's all you're in need of, but lunch is a pleasant and healthy experience. A very accommodating friendly staff, fresh salads, good sandwiches on decent artisanal bread, and the pizzas (which I haven't tried) are a bit off the chart, covered with raw greens as they are, but likely fresh and interesting tasting. Really GREAT parking. Covered from the sun, under the Perez gallery and reasonable at 2$ per hour.

This Starr NOT shining bright

By byMT305 |

The outdoor setting behind the PAMM (museum) overlooks Biscayne Bay and is gorgeous. The interior space is like a nice cafeteria. After hearing SO MUCH about Verde, we were very disappointed. The service is pleasant but disorganized i.e. entrees arriving before appetizers, etc. Re: food/drink items that we sampled: passion fruit caipirinha - bitter and unpalatable, margherita pizza - fresh hot thin crust, but bland sauce and subpar cheese, club sandwich - dry chicken breast, not enough avocado, mediocre whole grain bread & french fries too salty, chicken-under-brick - very average entree & under-seasoned. There really was not a single food item that we tried today, that we would want to order again. No doubt, Verde is superior to most museum (or stadium) food, and while it might compare favorably to subpar "chain restaurants", it does NOT compare favorably to restaurants which actually serve very good food.

Food and Art!

By madamsusan |

Before we entered the Perez Museum we were enticed to have our lunch at Verde, the museum cafe. The décor is modern and spare which complements the modern atmosphere of the museum. I decided to try one of the very interesting cocktails - the Cachaca Aperol Spritz, which was a more bitter version of the traditional Aperol Spritz but very good. With so many tempting menu options, my husband still ordered a cheeseburger, which he was completely satisfied with. The rest of us opted to share some of the more creative choices like squash blossom pizza, watercress salad, tuna tartare and crispy brussel sprouts. Everything was delicious! Service was professional, friendly and attentive. Prices were very reasonable. Then it was off to view the art.

We just arrived in Miami and we're hungry for lunch.

By Juliede |

I am on some dietary restrictions. Gluten free and dairy free and a few other things so I needed a healthy place to eat that I could eat at. Verde was great! It's located at the rear of the Perez Art Museum. The wait staff is very nice and accommodating. I had a grilled chicken with bacon and avocado and these incredibly thin French fries. My husband had a delicious bacon cheeseburger. Both were excellent! We were feeling so good that we decided to have dessert too. He had a key lime cup that was good and I opted for a lemon popsicle that reminded me of lemon Italian ice. It was a very satisfying lunch. Highly recommend it!

Great Biscayne Bay views with nice brunch menu

By CocoGroveMike |

Had a beautiful day to visit the Frost Museum and then have waterfront outdoor brunch at Verde. Many good dishes including their classic or crab cake eggs benedict dishes. Located on the bay side of the Perez Art Museum.

A good option…

By EvandroCesar |

Restaurant at the Perez Art Museum in Miami…. It has a pleasant atmosphere with an indoor and outdoor area. The dishes are quite tasty. The service in turn is just reasonable…. But it doesn't compromise... Reasonable prices.

Love this place

By kikadee27 |

Such a clean chic ambiance, with a very tasty and simple menu. Highly recommend for a date or anytime....you can sit there all day taking in the views.

Saturday in Miami

By Pbacco |

After bicycling to South Beach and back, on our way home we stop at this lovely restaurant, part of the Perez museum of contemporary art. If you are in Miami it is worth a visit. Great view of the bay and the port.Menu selection is quite unusual and good variety. Food is overall very good. This is my second visit and they are pretty consistent with service and food. Only drawback the traffic noise from the 395 causeway. You probably will have a wait to eat outdoors, but worth the wait .

Bloody Mary's (YUM!) and Good Brunch Food

By Christine M |

We came here for brunch and it did not disappoint. The Bloody Mary's are made fresh in-house each day and are VERY tasty. This will now be the new standard by which I will judge all Bloody Mary's.

Evaluation

Bad..very bad. We did have to drink our beberages outside because they didn't permit us to use the inside tables and the outside neither..

Very Good!

By Jennifer G |

We met friends of our here for lunch recently and I thought it was excellent. Such a great place to sit outside by the water and enjoy conversation and chat! I had the Verde Farro Bowl and loved it! My husband had the burger though and said he didn't enjoy it that much as it was dry and overcooked. I'd come back though!

First time = happiness

Bravo to manager Lio & his staff for outstanding, and reasonably priced food with GREAT service. Eat outdoors overlooking the bay and fabulous lush surroundings. Best tuna tartare! Great selection of gourmet pizzas.

A wonderful restaurant attached to a nice museum

By brwydave02 |

We sat to on the deck, enjoying the view of Biscayne Bay, and shared a tasty pizza and beer. The service staff worked well as a team. Even if you don't care to visit the Perez Art Museum, Verde is worth the visit.

Stay in was full so... decided "to go" option which was soo good! Goat cheese sandwich slaw and radish, mmmmm spicy! Eating at hamocks fresh windy day and such a nice view of harbour and park!!!

We ate lunch outdoors and it was beautiful but basically empty. I had the Ceviche and my husband had the steak tartare. We shared an order of french fries. The food was exquisite but pricey.

after Art Basel at Perez stopped in for snack and was pleasantly surprised. Excellent coffee, simple interesting good quality menu but the venue did it.Sat outside watching the bay with a drink and it was most relaxing

Awesome Food and Sangria

By Prepro T |

Had the Veggie Burger! It was sooo good! If it’s not on the menu ask for it... I had to ask for it because it wasn’t on the menu. My wife had the Pesto Salad which was amazing also.

Good museum lunch

By Dennis D |

This is a nice restaurant in the Perez museum. We shared an order of their grilled brussels sprouts, which were excellent. I had mani mani tacos. They were ok, not great. It is priced a bit high, as expected for a museum restaurant.

Nice lunch....

By Patrick C |

My girlfriend and I went here for lunch and we are both vegan/vegetarian. We had 2 salads and a side of Broccoli Rabe---all of it was very good. She had a Pear Chicory salad and I had a chopped salad. This is our first time here to dine and we would come back, nice views as well.

Sunday brunch

By Alamills |

Brunch for four. Luckily there were a good number of empty tables. Sitting outside gave us a better view. More space between tables made it more comfortable. The Spinach Omelette was good though it could of had a little more "personality" if you know what I mean. The pancakes were much more tasty. Service was friendly/normal.

Needs better service,poor hostess

By J F |

we were here in a Sunday so I understand it's probably the busiest day but unfortunately on our second visit to this restaurant things did not go right. We did not feel welcomed, service was impersonal. We had asked for a table outside, and even tough there were several empty, as they were still with dirty dishes we were told it was not possible. It would have been so easy to clear them....but obviously that's not their priority. Food is ok,nothing to brag about. Ok you will say it's a restaurants museum, but after dining at the Moma at NY you get spoiled. We asked for the salt several times and we're finally given the salt....but the container was empty,so gave up. Asked for olive oil...took forever. It's a pity because with the view ,the dining experience at this museum could be great. The people running this cafeteria should really evaluate what's going on. This could be a fantastic place to have a lunch at Miami irrespective if you are there for the art or not. But it needs to elevate their service a lot, beiging with the hostess attitude. The service staff is friendly but disorganized. Will go back, maybe it was their bad day. Miami needs this place to be outstanding, not only average.

Verde - a beautiful foodie experience at the Perez!

By Joseph S |

Awesome setting and food will not set you back lots of Verde ("green"). No need to leave the Perez Art Museum for a light nosh or full blown meal! Worthwhile as a stand alone venue too! Enjoy...

We like this place very much!

By Fernachis |

The outside tables are the best! All that I have try here was delicious, we go back very often. The whole family love it!

Delightful Cafe Experience

By DelrayJack07 |

My wife and I were visiting the Perez and decided to stay in the building for lunch. One of the great benefits of retirement is to visit places at times without crowds. We were seated at a table for 4 but sat side by side to take full advantage of the view to the bay. Visiting the Perez is being surrounded with beauty in design and looking out at the MacArthur Causeway disappearing across Biscayne Bay is a view that goes forever. Being outdoors beneath the "hanging gardens" was quite comfortable while temps in the sun were surely close to 90*. We had a shrimp salad and a sausage rabe pizza accompanied by a German Rose. Each was delicious and we took out time. Our waitress was just a little too quick clearing dishes but otherwise very pleasant and available. Extending the event by ordering coffee which we seldom do at lunch, we sat and talked about the art we'd just seen and about the delightful place in which we were ensconced.

Good Pancakes

By FPAdventurer |

The location is very nice since it over looks the intracoastal waterway. The food was ok. I was not happy with the options on the menu so I ordered the pancakes which were surprisingly good with a side of scrambled eggs with white cheddar. It is not on the menu but it was delicious. The service was ok.

Sister Lunch Birthday

By Maggs1976 |

We had lunch at Verde before our Frost Museum visit. Eat outside, the views are amazing. It was very windy and at times raining. But still beautiful. Now, for the food and service. The lady at the front, no smiles, no welcome. As a matter of fact she was arguing with the couple in front of us (who had a reservation). And no table available with a wait of 35 minutes. The man “kept asking you will call us”, she kept saying first come first served. She did not take his name. What’s the purpose of a reservation. She needs better training and attitude. The food. We ordered several dishes and two drinks. The drinks were terrible, @ $14 and $15 way overpriced. I don’t mind paying if they are good and well prepared. You are better off ordering a glass of wine or a beer. The ceviche was delicious and so was the tuna poke. The Tuna Poke is enough to share. We also ordered a pizza and the Verde salad. Pizza was burned underneath. The salad was good. The service was OK, but slow. It can improve. My bill was $120 for lunch. Again the views were magnificent. Anywhere in that area they are amazing. You are better off going to one of the restaurants nearby. Or you could bring your own food (picnic) or take out and sit at Museum Park for free. Parking is not that much at the garage.

Nice lunch at PAMM

By Brion C |

Verde is the restaurant at the Perez Art Museum of Miami (PAMM). It has a pretty varied menu with appetizers, salads, pizzas, and sandwiches. It also has a nice wine list. We had pizzas - the Margherita, and the Butter Nut and Fig. Both were excellent - lots of cheese and tomatoes on the Margherita and lots of squash, dried figs, gorgonzola and hazelnuts on the other. We sat outside and, while it was pretty empty, the views and comfortable temperatures made for a nice couple of hours. This was my 4th or 5th time there and I will definitely go back. The restaurant is also convenient to the new Frost Science Museum and Museum Park.

Pricy inside museum great views coffee like $5 inside and out side seating my like a cafe stuff nice no toaster

Chill out terrace with great views

By Phillip G |

Situated at the rear of the Perez Art Museum, this restaurant was a great find. There is both outside and inside seating and this is a great place to chill out, watch the world (and boats) go by. It is a busy establishment and we were fortunate to get a table outside. The menu is not extensive, but there are some unusual choices, especially the salads. For example they make their cesear salad with Kale and not Romaine lettuce! We shared a chicken club sandwich and a Perez chopped salad, which were delicious and plentiful. Beware the side dressing with this salad is very spicy! This is not a cheap eatery and the drinks, especially the wine are expensive. As a one off we thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

Good food, great view, amazing building

By Traveler123020 |

We had low expectations based on the reviews and were pleasantly surprised. Chicken sandwich, pizza and burger were all very good. There is a lovely outdoor area with a view of the Biscayne key. In addition, there are outdoor swings and benches. The museum building itself is stunning.

Perfect end to the day!

By Kekelley528 |

Spent the afternoon at the Perez art museum.... Stayed for dinner at the Verde restaurant. So glad we did! Dinner started with a white wine sangria .... delicious! Tuna tartare for appetizer... Red snapper and chicken under a brick for entrées! Food was amazing ! The waitstaff was attentive and helpful and friendly! Highly recommend!

Skip it!

By pattib22 |

During a visit to Perez Art Museum we tried their onsite restaurant Verde. Food was marginal and service bordered on non-existent. It was early afternoon on a weekday so not crowded but we had to flag down someone to fill our water glasses. Our Perez Chopped Salad (priced at $14) with bacon, red onion, green pepper, cherry tomato, baby spinach and romaine consisted mostly of lettuce and a few hard to find bits of bacon. We patiently waited for our waitress to bring salt and pepper and had to ask twice. The pepper shake arrived empty. We should have known better than to ask for coffee and tea to follow the meal. Again, waiting and asking more than once. We enjoyed the museum but in the future will skip the restaurant...

Would recommend

By Zoe R |

We stopped here for lunch and would recommend it. We had the Mediterranean sampler and sweet potatoe as sharing plates. Good service, nice vibe and surroundings, great food that we felt was value for money.

Noisy Freeway

By KRH |

What should be a delightful view is spoilt by the noise from the traffic on the nearby bridge Food choice was limited but nicely prepared Brunch only available at weekends was disappointing

Bad experience

By Daniela |

We arrived at the restaurant at almost 14h. It was empty and almost all the tables were available, no waiters, so we just chose a table and sat. Then a waiter came and said we should have waited to be seated, but that he was going to get the menu for us. But the hostess came and, in a very rude way, told us to get up and ask her for a table. So we had to get up, walk to the restaurant door and then she made us walk back to a small table near the one we originally sat.

Good food, spotty service...terrific views

By PuzzleSolver855 |

We had lunch before going into the museum and it took longer than we planned because service was a bit slow, nice but slow. Both of us enjoyed our food choices and we relaxed taking in the view of the bay. After lunch we went into the museum then we dropped back by the quick take out section of the cafe to get a coffee and a $4 cookie to share on the patio. We plopped into comfortable adirondack chairs and finished out the day.

Terrible

By cristidel |

Terrible service & food. It’s really gone downhill in the past several years. The Bloody Mary was terrible, the Eggs Benedict awful-potatoes cold & English muffin hard as cardboard-sauce watery & cold. I sent food back. Took a long time to bring new meal & it was hit but mediocre. The service was almost non existent-had to ask several waiters. We waited 5 minutes for salt & pepper. There are much better brunch places in Miami. Only redeeming quality is the view of Biscayne Bay.

Mediocre food, overpriced

By 411ClaudeB |

My wife ordered a red snapper, I ordered shrimps with pasta. Our friends ordered salads. Salads were OK, nothing to write home about. My wife's snapper, tiny, had some taste. As for my dish, also tiny, shrimps were notoriously absent ( except for a couple of miniatures) and the pasta sauce, very simple, was tasteless and unimaginative. Prices were well above those to be expected in touristy places in Miami for that kind of food. The settings were very simple, cafeteria style. It was like eating in an expensive school cafeteria. The only good news is that the waiter was able to explain some of the dishes being offered. Shall we return and eat here again? No!

Just a delightful, fresh lunch !

By Marty M |

Wound up at Verdi a bit by as it was restaurant selected for a hospitality group networking lunch - and what a delightful setting! For starts (with the setting), Verde is located inside the stunning Herzog & de Meuron-design Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) although you don't need to go to the museum to eat at the restaurant. For food starters, our table had a trio wonderful salads (sliced heat of palm in one; quinoa in another), followed by a sampling of their delicious chicken in watercress, a light pizza with tomato sauce and basil, and grilled asparagus. Each plate tasted distinctive and you could pick out the individual ingredient with your taste buds. A sensory experience! Finished everything with a key lime parfait. I'll be back!

Great food and drinks

By cazu247 |

The view of this café is awesome. We ate salad and pizza which was very good. The specialty drinks bloody Mary Guava margarita and Ciaperinia drinks were great.

Nice spot

By chilliwilly007 |

Was there yesterday with my girl and had to wait over an hour and a half for a table once we got sat service was good a little crazy for the server running around the restaurant and sweating badly..the food was very good mussels, tuna and pizza. Beautiful views from Miami and the museum I'll suggested to any one just make sure you make reservations

Beautiful decor, excellent pizzas

By marujatarre |

Verde is the restaurant of the beautiful Perez Museum. An excellent place to lunch and rest after visiting this new Museum. The pkace is minimalist, in shades of beige. Rustic and nice decor. Very good service with a waiter very willing to help us choose. We decided to share 3 pizzas among 4 persons and it was mire than enough. We had the zucchini blossoms with goat cheese, the spicy rock shrimp with aragula and the wild mushrooms with truffle oil. The three were really good. Impossible to decide which one was the best. As a dessert we shared a deconstructed key lime pie. The flavour was good. But why now all the restaurants want to "deconstruct" something delicious as the original key lime pie?

Good Food, Artsy Location

By Bobtor1 |

Airy space, efficient and pleasant staff, good food and a delightful view make this the perfect pace to go when visiting the Perez. We had a great brunch with all in the party enjoying their different orders.

Delicious little gem inside of PAMM

By Gracia L |

For a city on the water, there are so few places to enjoy a meal on the water (indoor seating also available). Verde offers a great menu (though the small plates are very small) from pizza (fabulous) to sandwiches, burgers and larger entrees. Excellent service to boot. And when it's Spice season, their menu is a must too.

Awesome spot for lunch

By WorldTraveler_and_Co |

This place has a beautiful view and awesome food. It’s great just to go and hang out even if you don’t go inside the museum. The food is really delicious and there is a large outdoor area to take a stroll right by the water. There’s parking on site but make sure not to lose your ticket (it’s a whopping $40.00 if you do)

Brunch with a View

By Nicole |

If you are looking for an affordable, relaxing weekend brunch with a great view... this is the place. Try to make a reservation if you can as Verde usually fills up around 12:30 PM. Steak & eggs are delicious, juicy cheeseburger and fluffy pancakes with fruit. If you have kids, I think they only have two hi-chairs. Outside dining is covered, but inside does have nice air conditioning which we all need in the summer. Walk around after, there is plenty to see, and you can relax on the hammock swings outside overlooking the water.

Service is really really bad

By mexican |

Minimal portions, no bread, food average, noise from freeway. Setting is nice, breeze in the afternoon. Seems they are doing you a favor serving you.

A Delightful Lunch at the Perez Art Museum

By Art W |

Overlooking Bicayane Bay, on the terrace of the Perez Art Museum, was a delightful and surprisingly delicious luncheon experience. My "chicken under a brick" couldn't have been better. Moist and succulent, it was perfect! My wife enjoyed their excellent club sandwich. Prices are moderate to high, but we'll worth the cost. If you want an unusual dining experience, this would be the place to go. The ambiance and decor can't get much better for a museum setting. Service is a bit slow, so be prepared to with the flow.Reservations are suggested as this is a busy environment.

Delicious lunch, even better view

By oenotraveler1 |

We enjoyed a brunch outside on the patio overlooking the water after our visit and tour of the museum. The omelets were big and fluffy; the potatoes were cooked perfectly and had a wonderful flavor and crunch to them. The salads were lightly dressed, which suited us just fine. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable; she offered some suggestions and double checked our order to make sure she had it correct. A smart thing to do when the restaurant is busy. The restaurant gets full at lunchtime, best make a reservation to get an outside table.

DELICIOUS FOOD

By syan0vich |

The café is casual and its menu is also nice for a light lunch. The best part is that it was all beautifully served and delicious. Do plan to have a very good lunch in the back terrace of Perez Museum

Verde is the perfect compliment!

By Heather S. |

Every museum needs a restaurant like Verde. It was the perfect end to a perfect day with a beautiful ocean view at Verde. The wait is long, so put your name on the list early. A must try is the proscuitto pizza. And the burger is amazing! Oh and don't forget to try the Kale Caesar, YUM-O! Uhhhh and the house pickles. I could go on and on and on...

Pre mother's day

Had a great time, the food was fresh and delicious (had the chicken sandwich). It was a fantastic day so we sat outside and watched the cruise ships and waterway. Service was ok, but this place gets my vote. You will like it too!

Great food; great view; lovely ambiance

By LynnCactusWren |

My husband and I had lunch here twice while visiting Miami. We thought the food, ambiance and service were excellent. Our first visit we split a Perez Chopped salad with chicken. I had a Coke and a nonalcoholic Honey Mule Gingerbeer. We sat on the lovely outdoor patio overlooking the water. We were first time visitors to Miami, so we especially enjoyed looking at the Miami skyline. Then we toured the Perez Art Museum. We liked this restaurant so much we decided to dine here again when we visited the Frost Museum of Science, which is next door. This time we ate inside since it was raining. We split the delicious Perez Chopped Salad and some toast. This wonderful restaurant was recommended to us by a longtime Florida resident. We would be happy to dine at this restaurant even if not visiting the museums.

Great Views and Food

If you want a lovely lunch or late lunch with a nice view and a museum you can visit afterwards...this is the place for you. I take all of my friends here for lunch. The food is good and it's a nice atmosphere. all of the staff are professional and pleasant.

Great End to a Museum Visit

By Amy T |

Enjoyed the restaurant after a great visit to the Perez Art Museum. We sat outside on a beautiful day and enjoyed the bay view. The food and drinks were really good including the bloody mary, kale salad, tuna tartare and mussels with chorizo. The only complaint was the slow service. The server was very friendly but drinks coming from the bar and the food coming out of the kitchen took waaaaay too long.

Great service

By Miamkd |

I am first time at Verde at Perez museum. So far everything is great. Ruth the hostess was really nice and kind, My server Maria also, she was really helpful and familiar with the menu. The food was really tasty! Awesome place to visit!

A must !

By BlueBsAs |

Since they opened, this restaurant keeps delivering a great menu and excellent service. I love the ambiance and the view. We went with out towners and they were delighted. We ordered chicken, farro salad, maní tacos and sprouts. Every dish was perfectly well done. The service was impecable. Reservations are suggested as it gets crowdy.

Service charge at the bar 20% with no service

By michael b |

So we arrive and the host told us if you want just drinks go to the bar and carry own drinks outside and sit in the space where is not for lunch so we went to the bar to order cappuccino drinks and pastries they give it to us and they don’t give you a seat they don’t give you a service. They don’t take anything for you to the table, but they want you to pay 20% service charge if there’s no service where we have to carry our own drinks to take it outside what would you charge a service charge so we were eight of us And we decided to leave if you don’t consume here because this is abusive if you don’t give a service why would you charge a service charge?

Fresh is Best!

Healthy menu in this restaurant attached to The Perez Art Museum. Alexei looked after us very well and was helpful when we asked about other restaurants for us to try. We enjoyed the Tuna Poke Bowl and Falafel Salad.

The view was great....but...

By pepper000 |

What was to be the redeeming factor for visiting this museum, the food at this restaurant was mediocre at best. Two of us had the ravioli and it was so al dente and salty it was not worth eating. Wish I had been served the glass of rose that I ordered! The view is beautiful and hoped the food would have matched!

Charming restaurant with great views of Miami

By Gilberto O |

While visiting the Perez Art Museum we had brunch at Verde. The restaurant is located at the end of the museum facing the ocean . It has nice views of Miami Beach with both outside and inside dining. The décor was just right given the nature of its location. The menu was simple and varied with the standard staples. We both had the hamburger with very good fries and salad. The service was very good, and the pricing was ok. Strong recommendation.

Complements the museum nicely and loved the view

By PearDr0ps1 |

I'm a brunch addict, and in quite a few cities now you can get brunch every day. In Miami... not so much. What drew me to Verde was the brunch menu but it was only available on the weekend... **sad face** But serendipity works in mysterious ways... If I hadn't been craving brunch, I wouldn't have googled "good brunch near the Miami Perez Art Museum" and then headed there, and I would've missed out on a really lovely lunch in really gorgeous surroundings. Some of the other reviewers have raised concerns about the nearby motorway, but that was not a problem for me. My friend and I sat outside and really enjoyed the waterfront view of Biscayne and the museum's beautiful architecture and plant features. The lunch was nice and the venue is more casual. My friend ordered the Chicken Under The Brick, which gave me food envy. I order the classic grilled club, which was MASSIVE. I had to take half home. A really pleasant afternoon. PS The museum is fantastic <3

Great place for lunch

By Dwyer |

June 2023, came here after walking around the Museum, but we did have to wait 15 minutes to be seated inside. The inside has plenty of tables and I loved the bright natural light coming into the restaurant. They do have outdoor seating but it is too hot for me to sit outside even though it is a shaded area. Our Server was wonderful, she took great care of our table. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Club that was delicious, and my friend ordered the Hamburger and fries that he really enjoyed. Honestly, it maybe a little pricey for lunch but the food was good. Do yourselves a favor and go on Open Table to make reservations, just don’t show up and expect to be seated right away.

Good food and excellent service from Lilliana

By Yachtjudge |

We went in for lunch on a Saturday. Quite late - it was 2p.m. but still very busy. Welcomed immediately. A table was found and our waitress asked how we were doing. Next question from our waitress, water, bottled, spring, fizzy or tap. No hard sell there then. Cold, eminently drinkable tap water came immediately. After a little time to consider the menu we were given a description of the day's specials, asked whether we wanted any other drinks and then left alone to consider. At an entirely appropriate moment we were then approached again. We still hadn't made up our minds about food but ordered cocktails. A margherita and a blood orange juice and prosecco. Drinks appeared at the right moment and we ordered food. Being British we wanted the best of the USA. The speciality brunch burger sounded great so we ordered that. We also wanted to share the pancakes (with rhubarb compote) and were were asked whether we wanted them before the burgers or after as a dessert. We chose after. The burgers came - cooked rare, exactly as requested. They came with bacon, cheese and a fried egg on a soft bun and were delicious. To be picky I thought that the fried potatoes were less than impressive and the salad leaves could have done with more dressing. Whilst still eating the burgers another waiter brought the pancakes , but having seen that they had appeared early there was an enquiry from our table waitress, we said yes we needed more time, the pancakes were whisked away. So we finished our burgers and our waitress brought over extra plates and cutlery so we could share. We were going to be given fresh pancakes and the others were scrapped. after a short wait the fresh and absolutely delicious pancakes appeared. And again at just the right time the plates were removed and coffee orders taken. And the espresso was good. Oh, and he says, during the meal Lily had time to drop my, chat about what we were doing in Miami and quietly monitor that were were enjoying our meal. I have been to lots of restaurants in lots of countries in my life. It is difficult to get the right balance of customer care - visible and caring but not pestering, reacting to situations professionally, delivering the right food in a timely and professional way. The service we had today was superb. I hope that Lily is commended for it. Verde aspires to good modern food and seems to achieve that, the view across the harbour is lovely. Judging by the families there it is a favourite weekend lunchtime venue for the citizens of Miami. So it should be. We had a very enjoyable meal.

Fabulous

One of the best lunches we have had…I had the chopped salad…wow…fabulous…my husband had the kale cesear salad and loved. Pricey but well worth it. Great view of bridge/water. Service not so great but we were on vacation and in no hurry (sat for 15 minutes before anyone offered us even a glass of water). We will be back!

Amazing food, friendly service, and beautiful views

My boyfriend & I visited Miami from November 15-18, and we had the opportunity to eat at Verde- Perez Art Museum for Sunday brunch. The hostess and waitress were extremely welcoming and we were seated outside with a gorgeous view of the water. I started off by order the spicy verde margarita, which had a nice kick to it, and my boyfriend ordered the iced irish coffee. For food, the pizzas caught my eye and all sounded so good but I really wanted breakfast food so I went with the eggs benedict with smoked salmon. My boyfriend wanted the chicken under a brick but ultimately ordered his favorite breakfast food: steak & eggs. The eggs benedict with smoked salmon was so fresh and delicious, I am craving it again as I write this! The steak & eggs were also great and my boyfriend was impressed with the tasty red pepper puree. I highly recommend eating here for the friendly service, delicious food, and beautiful view.

Great view..but that's about it.

Came for brunch on a Sunday prior to checking out the museum. I was pretty excited as it is a Stephen Starr restaurant and unfortunately I was not as satisfied as I was expecting. Service was a little slow and we ordered the squash blossoms pizza (which was actually really doughy and very greasy) and the Perez Chopped Salad which was good. When the check came it was obvious that the bill had been jacked up due to the 3 glasses of Rose we ordered..to be expected. The terrace itself is gorgeous and the views are spectacular. Hopefully they were just having an off day because it'd be sad if this wonderful concept didn't succeed. I'm willing to give it another shot.

Totally recommend!!

Wowwwwwww experience!!!! I have been to this restaurant in the past but the new menu is AMAZING!!! LOVED THE FOOD!! Can't explain how much I loved the Caracas Egg Benedict. Thank you Erick for your great service and to the Chef: Valeri Fuentes, you are a true artist!!

Delicious food !

Delicious food and gorgeous views, perfect place to have a nice lunch in a casual setting. The chicken is outstanding and also the pancakes!

One of our favorites for weekend breakfast/brunch

By Rodolfo Paiz |

We've become very attached to Verde over the last few months. Having it as part of the Perez Art Museum is great (I think we'll recover our entire museum membership cost just from the 10% discount at Verde!), and we've had a meal at Verde followed by a leisurely tour of the PAMM collections a couple of times. The ambience is informal, but of high quality. Wooden tables and cloth chairs work well, the outside deck has a great breeze of the bay and is shaded by the extremely-high overhang above, so you can have an outdoor meal without being in the sun. The hanging gardens contribute nicely to the atmosphere. Food is informal and simple, but extremely well made and of consistently good quality. I'm still vociferously asking them to put the pancakes back on the menu, since those were some of the best pancakes anywhere. But the rest of the food is great too: sandwiches, fries, salads, eggs, finger food... just a nice place in which to spend time with the family without worrying too much about what the kids are up to. Finally, service is a bit weak in the sense that many of the staff seem to be inexperienced or not well-trained. Little mistakes and oversights, like not getting our water glasses refilled, happen often. But in the end, they're friendly and they get the job done, and we're not the type to get too hung up on little things. Prices are slightly high for the kind of food they provide if you're judging them against any normal restaurant, but then they're quite low for a museum restaurant. We find that our average check is about $22-$25 per person. Happy to give a five-star "excellent" rating to a place where we now go at least 6-8 times a year. :-)

Perez Art Museum water front restaurant

Great place for a light lunch during a visit to the Perez Art Museum. Food is fresh and the staff friendly. Outside seating even in the hot temperature is pleasant owing to a constant cool breeze. The view over the water is an added bonus.

Mussels with chorizo!

My family and I (me, my wife, and two grown daughters) loved our day trip to Miami over the Christmas holiday, and the visit to the Perez Museum was a highlight. But as much as we enjoyed the collection (we caught a very interesting Dara Friedman exhibit), the highlight of the highlight might have been lunch at Verde. Great food and a menu that catered to the full range of our habits -- from omnivore to veganish.

Convenient when visiting PAMM

After a visit to Perez Art Museum Miami we had a light lunch at this cafe. We had a sandwich which we ate sitting on Adirondac chairs on the beautiful patio overlooking Biscayne Bay.

Nice lunch

We came here whilst visiting the new PAMM. The restaurant certainly fits the style of the new building and the menu goes beyond the usual museum cafe staples. My mahi mahi wrap was delicious, with a nice sushi flavour and a hint of chilli. My wife's club sandwich was harder to posh up, but the ingredients were good. Service is OK, if rather indifferent to your presence. Our waiter paid rather more attention to the pretty blonde on her own!

Excellent View with Very Good Food

By Lorraine M |

We visited the Perez museum and thus included lunch. The outside seating is better than the inside tables, due to the view of the Bay. The inside is very jam packed with tables utilizing every bit of floor space. It is also a bit loud. They do not have a vast menu, but certainly something for everyone's tastes. You can do brunch items, sandwiches, entree sized salads with added proteins, and a few entrees or big plates. There was a decent wine list with the least expensive glass being about $9.00 as well as cocktails and beers. Soda was $3.00 with refills. My hubby had the burger with fries for $15.00. It was cooked perfectly at med rare with plenty of delicious skinny fries. I choose the Perez Chopped Salad for $14.00 which came with a spicy Chipotle dressing. I was able to get a champagne vinaigrette that I liked better. I added the market fish for $9.00. I felt the portion was way too small for $9.00; barely 4 oz. The salad was quite large and tasty. No bread was served. There was also a pizza section, with 5 types as well as a large selection of juices, coffees, and other drinks. They did offer a kids menu. Lunch for two came to $44.00 before a tip. Service was smooth and efficient. There is also an Express Bar where you can grab and go, which might be a bit cheaper option. They also had desserts but we did not inquire. This restaurant is certainly a complement to the museum.

Rude staff and noisy outside - nice view

By Adrien M |

Had a cookie and a coffee, which were both goods. Because of covid, you can’t sit inside. Outside, the view is nice but it’s extremely noisy since you’re very close from the highway bridge. The staff is not welcoming at all, they make you feel like you’re annoying them.

Good french fries...shame about the rest

By Anya N |

I went for brunch on Sunday, and although the place looks good and cosy, i was very disappointed with the quality of the food (bread was stale and cold, hollandaise was dull), minimum food presentation, and service (obviously no training). To top it up, the bill was very expensive! Would not go back!

Great setting, mediocre food.

By Nester |

Located in the Pérez Art Museum Miami Verde is good for a museum restaurant but mediocre for other eating establishment. The staff are friendly but do have a tendency to push those not after full meals outside to the coffee stand.

Wow, great food under the "hanging gardens"

By Manny A |

Surprised at how good the food was here. Had a great hummus plate and delicious grilled club sandwich with fries. Everything was nicely presented and tasted fresh. Definitely eat here if you are visiting the museum. Really nice to sit outside right by the bay and under the "hanging garden".

Bad hostess

By Roundabout1959 |

I am a very fair reviewer and do not like to say bad things, if not warranted. On a recent and first visit, we entered Verde and asked the hostess if we could sit outside. There were plenty of empty tables. She said they were all reserved. Ok. We sat inside. Same view, same food. My daughter and I kept looking at the outdoor tables and no one used them, the entire time we were there. We felt it was unnecessary to exclude us from sitting outside when none of the tables became occupied even when we left. Maybe we are not from the upper crust of Miami (thank goodness) but we can certainly afford to eat at Verde and then some. We have been treated much better at Prime 112. Food was very good as reflected in my review, as was the atmosphere. I will not rule out visiting Verde again.

Beautiful view, lunch on the terrace then enjoy the museum

By sobevip |

Yes, the view and ambiance are the best part!! We went here for a couples lunch. Thankfully we had made a reservation, because our chances of sitting outside that day without one would be a gamble. Our waiter, although busy, was very nice and willing to make suggestions and describe items on the menu. We all had blood orange mimosas, which were amazingly delicious! Everyone at the table was happy with their food. I had the Chicken Under a Brick at the waiter's advice and wasn't disappointed. It was seasoned well and served with chimichurri and potatoes. It was a generous serving and I had to have my husband help me with it. After lunch, we enjoyed the museum for about an hour, and then relaxed on the terrace outside. It was a very nice way to spend an afternoon.

Disappointing...

By Eugene D |

The restaurant is located at the Perez Art Museum. The fine art on display and the Herzog & De Meuron-designed building couldn't compensate for very slow service and worse than average food. Thirty minutes after having placed the order, our pan-seared salmon was brought to our table. It seemed it was deep fried, and the whole dish was at room temperature: it must have sat for quite a while before being served. In short, the culinary experience was nothing to write home about, and when you factor in the cost, then it definitely becomes a "no recommendation."

Poor food quality

By MissyP1000 |

I live directly across the street from the restaurant so I go to the museum and restaurant often but today's brunch was terrible. I ordered the chicken sandwich which was huge piece of bread- tiny one old looking piece of chicken and salad with very little dressing. My friend's shrimp and grits was so terrible, she could not even eat it. I have had better experiences here before. It was not a busy Sunday and there seemed to be no shortage of staff. Very disappointed in this visit.

Poor Management..

By Jorge P |

What's going on with the service industry in Miami? My family and I had a late lunch, the place had only a few tables, the restaurant was recommended by a friend, the music was load for some of us and we asked for it to be lowered, a guy with an upset attitude passed by us nobody bother to ask if was better, the food was ok, the server was good but for a light fare restaurant good enough.. The greet was not even close to what you would expect any restaurant, I wouldn't go back... The guy at the front desk looked more like a hitman, not a host..... Smile more we pay your salary!!!!

Surprisingly great lunch

By HMSLondon101 |

Happened to be at the Perez at lunch time and so decided to sit and eat in the restaurant - and what a great decision it was! I do not have hugh expectations of museum eateries - in London and New York I generally avoid them where possible as they are usually crowded, poor quality and overpriced - but the ambience here is great and the food a very high standard. Had the Mahi Mahi crispy taco, which was really delicious - the best fish taco of my whole three week trip to the US, and I had quite a few! - followed by the freshly made mini-doughnuts in a berry coulis... so yum! I left a happy boy!

Plan to lunch here on your visit to the Perez

Another great meal at the outdoor seating. Asparagus salad, salmon, mussels, and a cheeseburger kept three very different diners very happy. Prices are high ($16 for a cheeseburger with fries), but you're paying for the location and the VIEW.
