Italia šŸ’ÆšŸ‡®šŸ‡¹

By Chuck C |

What a great Italian dinner, the ambience, the food the location, and above all the service. My parents migrated from Italy in 1959 to NYC, I grew up on Long Island American Italian style 100% . Italian food is my heritage. so I’m here in Miami with a friend, first time at Vero, and the best part about the experience, other than the food was our server, Fedarica!100% percent Italian from Italy, very polite, courteous, very friendly, she made me feel at home the way I did when I was growing up. very prompt. Does her job very well!! she made me feel like family and that’s what it’s all about with Italians. Thank you so much Fedarica, and Vero . I will definitely be back. ā¤ļøšŸ‡®šŸ‡¹ā¤ļøšŸ‡®šŸ‡¹ā¤ļø

Best Italian restaurant in town

By Oliver S |

Love that place. Authentic Italian dishes in Miami. Great people, great food, awesome place! Come here once a week for lunch or dinner!

A Hidden gem

By Tom W |

Tucked away in a small arcade setting, the restaurant is just 2 blocks from the heart of the downtown shopping district. Very comfortable ambience with an attentive staff. The food is very authentic Italian with a great range of dishes to meet all tastes - and on a very easy budget. Portions are doggie-bag big! The pasta dishes are over-ample for lunch and everyone in our business group - especially the single folks - knew they had another great meal to re-heat at home. Topped with Italian-style espresso, we felt we were back in Verona.

Great food and service

Great little spot for lunch downtown

By SiBow33 |

Eat here at the start of August with a couple of friends while on vacation. The restaurant has a nice relaxed vibe without being cheap or shabby, the staff were very friendly and the food was fantastic. I recommend the swordfish fish pasta!

This restaurant is a hidden gem. The food is amazing period. The hospitality from the staff specially the manager ā€œSalarā€ was really good. Very recommended

finally found my hidden italian treasure in Miami

By Gregoire M |

Who knew. I have come to Miami for business for 27 years. This was hands down my best italian dinner ever. I've always been disappointed by italian restaurants in the US in general (picture tex mex for a mexican). I had a fennel and rucula salad, just avoided the too sweet candied walnuts (sweet is a GRINGO thing, natural walnuts or pinenuts would have been perfect). I almost never order pasta. I had the most AMAZING linguini neri di sepia with Lobster in a creamy lobster-bisque like sauce. Best restaurant pasta I have ever had in Miami... Will come back just for that! You can notice it is a Family run, friendly waited and family cooked authentic italian restaurant. Hope this does not ruin it with crowds.

Lunch

Went in for lunch and was blown away by the level of service. The Regina Margherita! Pizza was amazing. I will definitely be back with the family for dinner very soon.

Great Italian food and servide

By Nellyboy39 |

Visited with family and made the booking ahead on trip advisor From the moment entered to leaving the service was great, from I believe the owner of the establishment Starters of octopus and bruschetta the food was really good and fresh For mains we had a carbonara, wife had the chicken which was beautifully presented and in taste , and I had the lamb cutlets which were cooked perfect and really good ! Tirimisu for a shared desert and a great end to a lovely meal The restaurant is near 3 metro mover stops for access , would recommend to any Miami visitor

Fantastic

By mmcr1 |

Came across this place one Saturday afternoon and were welcomed in. Little did I know that this entire alleyway is rich with cuisine and service. Food was great and the service even better. This is one of the only places that remind me of a type of Greek/Italian/Spanish ambiance. Highly recommend and will be back.

Excellent Food & Service

Slower Service, but a Hidden Gem

By nikki D |

Very yummy food and has a great reasonable priced lunch menu, but the service itself is pretty slow and not so much attentive. We had a late lunch here and though the place had a few patrons and lots of staff members, our waiter was just not very "focused" we were never asked for refills on our beverages and maybe checked up on us once when our food was received. maybe it was the timing or a new waiter, but we will give this place a try again

Lunch

Excellent italian food, cordial service, nice ambient. I recommend the tomato bruscheta. Real expresso Coffee.

Over rated

We were rushed to order by an unfriendly waitress. Food arrived very fast but was not happy with the quality of the pastas . No taste and very cheesy. Very limited vegetarian on the menu. I personally would not go back.

Delicious Italian Food in the Heart of Downtown Miami!

By Cassy W |

This is an incredible Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown Miami! We were in Miami for a bachelorette trip, and Vero was amazing. Our server, Nicole, did a great job handling a large party. The focaccia bread was to die for, and each of our entrees were delicious. I would definitely eat here again!

Yummy

Very yummy pasta. Great cooking, seasoning and decoration dish-wise. They also have a good selection of wines!

Incredible

By Paul N |

There is a reason this place is rated so high. The service, food and atmosphere are all impeccable. We enjoyed every second at this restaurant and can’t wait to go back. Get the Oslo Buco, melt in your mouth deliciousness.

A little gem in the heart of Downtown!

By Jesse L |

A little gem in the heart of Downtown MIAMI. Great pizza (try the P&P), great handmade pasta, and great bread. If you’re looking for great service, and authentic Italian, don’t go any further.

5 stars!!

I absolutely loved this place! The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was so flavorful. Great ambiance too. Can't wait to come back!

Wonderful Italian pearl in Miami! Super recommended

By Ada |

Amazing location in the heart of Downtown. The food tastes amazing,as if I was in a normal italian restaurant back at home. It was my fiancƩe birthday and the service and attention to detail was extraordinary. The waiters were very kind and helped me organising a beautiful surprise. Their Italian wine list is also gorgeous, if you like fancy wines and tasty food that reminds you of Italy! That's your place. I will be back soon

Nice Surprise in Miami

By Maxine M |

In town for a cruise and needed somewhere to have dinner. Courtyard just a block away recommended Vero Italian. Our server, Paolo made suggestions. We had Rigatoni Carbonara and Lasagne. Fresh made pasta, food was tasty, served piping hot. Spoke with Paolo for a bit. Very friendly staff, loved the accents. Felt like we were in Italy. Happy with the recommendation.

Best Italian in town

Went there last night for dinner, AMAZING!!!! The fresh pasta is a MUST HAVE!!! Me and my family are Miami local and we so glad we found this hidden gem. We will defenately go back as pizzas looked stunning!

Best Italian restaurant in Downtown Miami

By Eva C |

Vero Italian restaurant is a super cool Italian spot ! Everyone there has that thick Italian accent that makes you travel straight to Rome ! I had a pizza with goat cheese and it was honestly one of the best authentic Italian pizza I've had in Miami, the crust was exactly like in Europe ! The little alley with the bar at the entrance is super cute and the inside room does not have too many tables so it really is cosy. Also no loud music which is very enjoyable when catching up with friends or when you had a long busy day and just want to grab a quick bite in a pleasant atmosphere. They told me they have great happy hours which I will definitely check out sometimes soon !

Special night

My visit to @veroitalian was amazing... The Ravioli Zuca was delicious, made by the executive chef Paolo. Beautiful place, excellent service and environment. I recommend it

Great food and service

By oarias001 |

We had a big family for lunch and we all enjoyed the food we ordered. The restaurant looks very nicely decorated. I'm sure it look really cool at night. The service was great. My only complaint are the prices from the menu items. A bit high. Overall a great experience!

Authentic Italian ambiance

By Dr. Javy Medina |

Excellent Italian restaurant. Sara was our server has only been in the United States for just 5 days. We ordered Polepette Panna E Fungui. The servers and the bar staff all had Italian accent rendering an authentic Italian ambiance.

Great Pizza

By Andres D |

I found this place in the TripAdvisor app as I was staying in a hotel nearby and wanted to try something Italian. It is a small place with nice AC (necessary for a hot Miami day). I asked for a glass of wine and a prosciutto pizza. Probably one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Really good taste, fresh tomatoes and delicious crust. Must go!

Great pizza!

By Craig F |

The piri piri pizza was very tasty! Nice and cool out the heat and pleasant to look at. Generous with toppings. Pasta carbonara also tasty(verging on indulgent)

100% Italian

100% Italian menu with excellent seafood and meat dishes. Wide choice of traditional first courses and some gourmet ones. Very welcoming and friendly staff.

Quaint little restaurant, nice staff, average food

By Lisa D |

Looking for some Italian cuisine we stumbled upon this restaurant online. It was late and upon calling they indicated they were still open. When we arrived by cab we were a little taken back by the surroundings, so be aware but don't let it discourage you, it appears to be safe. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The chef gave us a couple of glasses of wine for waiting for our table. The atmosphere is very quaint and rustic. Could serve as a romantic evening out. You can dine in the courtyard or inside the restaurant. There were what looked like authentic dishes on the menu but we requested meatballs with spaghetti ... For me this is true test of an Italian restaurant. Suggest really read the ingredients of each menu item because we ordered Caesar salads and to this day can't tell you what the extra chewy bits were in there...no not bacon. The food we ordered was average...taste didn't really stand out like...OMG have to have this again, but it was ok. Meatballs were a combination of different meats that were a little unexpected but tasted ok...like I said read the ingredients to know what you're getting. Would I suggest this place? Yes if you're looking for a quaint or romantic restaurant. Like I said for our tastes it was average...living in Chicago there are several Italian restaurants that in comparison are so much better but that's my opinion. The staff, the atmosphere all made it a worth while visit, so yes...try them out.

Authentic Italian

By ndh |

We made reservations for a family dinner for 14 - 10 of us are vegetarian. We had just been to Italy and were craving some homemade pasta and savory sauces. We were thrilled with the food and service. Sauces were beautiful and rich, pasta was authentic, and the service was perfect. PLEASE don’t miss this place when in Miami!

BETTER THAN IN ITALY!

By ugo |

It's not easy to eat better abroad than in Italy, for us Italians!! So big surprise when you find all this. A magical place, friendly atmosphere but above all food of unique goodness, to make you forget that you are thousands of kilometers away! Well done, amazing... keep it up!!!

Truly great and accommodating

By Il G |

Truly great and accommodating venue, I came here with a vegan friend and she was super happy with her custom made meal, I had the greatest lamb chops I ever eaten, lovely bottle of Italian Sangiovese complemented our meal. We loved the coconut panna cotta as Deseret, highly recommend this lovely Italian restaurant!

Visiting our son who lives in Miami. I love Italian food and thought we'd try Veros. Decor was pretty average but the food and service was top notch. Would go back again if I had the chance.

Thank you Trip Advisor!

Traveling in Miami and unsure of where to eat and turned to Trip Advisor and found this gem! Excellent food! Caesar salad and salmon! Bread was delicious and topped it off with an amazing piece of Tiramisu!! Service and staff were great too!!

A good dinner

By Nadia |

Pleasant location. The typically Italian dishes were good even if perhaps a little too abundant in the seasoning. Excellent service from the waitresses, we recommend it.

Average Italian Food

By Bobby M |

Bread and salad were very good but pasta was just OK. Neighborhood is dicey with a lot of homeless people. Service was excellent and pizzas at table next to us looked very good

worst restaurant in Miami

By Jane |

The worst place , restaurant was empty , the pasta was uncooked and cold.Portions are super small, comparing to others Italian places in Miami. They don’t offer fresh bread and olive oil , they don’t have a fresh parmesan . The prices are very high for what they offer. They website menu has different prices from the restaurant menu. You will expend around 100.00 for just 2 pastas and two deserts. For the price you have a huge good options . Poor customer service, Unfortunately,I don’t have a reason to return or encourage the others.

Excellent restaurant

By Claudia Elena M |

I went on the recommendation of a friend. The food is delicious and the waitress and chef's attention was excellent.

Italian food at Brickel’s area Miami

Absolutely delicious food ! This is a hidden gem ! Cozy and calm atmosphere with an excellent service !

Total Surprise

By Lino D |

I typically, and foolishly, avoid restaurants that are too close to my home here. Fortunately the collective wisdom of a group I recently joined is changing my perceptions by introducing me to a host of restaurants in downtown Miami. Vero Italian is clearly one of them. Quality service from Paola and delicacies from the kitchen made for a perfect evening among newfound friends. The menu is extensive with appetizers, salads, pasta, entrees, pizza, and desserts. I had a delicious, crisp, anchovy covered Caesar's Salad forllowed by some of the tastiest lamb chops I've encountered anywhere. Dessert was a delicious lemon cake, clearly home made. All in all a perfect evening in a neighborhood that improves on a daily basis. Thank you.

Italia a Miami

By FASCINO I |

A charming, romantic little restaurant, adorned with all the Christmas decorations. Today, my children ate for free because of the Epiphany celebration. The Amatriciana was excellent, and the Carbonara tasted just like in Rome—perfectly al dente pasta and incredibly tender, flavorful meat. The wait times were a bit long, but it's worth it since everything is fresh and prepared on the spot. Highly recommended.

A mint plant that is tiramisu

By Getaway17339645009 |

After a long cruise with international cuisines, we were recommended Vero Italian as a true Italian restaurant, and it's true! We felt like we were eating at home in a festive atmosphere with two Christmas trees and only Italian music playing. The menu is extensive, especially with the pasta selection featuring dishes from Rome, Naples, Romagna, and many others. An excellent experience. Exquisite is the word for the tiramisu, which arrives in the form of a mint plant in a terracotta pot.

Oh my God Italian food doesnt get better than vero

By patrick j |

We stumbled into this place after a gallery event for art Basel. And I couldn't have been happier! The smell of pizza off the street got me and to the last bite everything was sublime. There wasnt a bite left on any of our dishes from the appetizer through desert. The waitress and her husband(the chef) own the place and are just wonderful people. Listening to her yell at him in full Italian only added to our enjoyment and authenticity of the experience. I forgot I was in Miami for a minute! 10/10

Absolutely rubbish

By Roger A |

This is on this website as no 2 in Miami.. ha ha. The service was like extras from a Godfather movie and the food was amateurish. No atmosphere and staff couldn't wait to take still half full plates away. They knew it was poor. Think Trip Advisor have been had with this one. No 2 my......

Great dinner experience !

By Alana H |

I work in the neighborhood and was intrigued by their menu and cute little alley so I decided to try it out with my boyfriend. We started with an antipasto plate to share, which we finish to the very last bite (not even one olive left lol). For main course I had the branzino and he tried the lamb. The fish was one of a kind ! I cook a lot especially Mediterranean style, and I gotta say I was impressed by the flavors, I loved it !! The portion was very generous also and the fish itself had a great meaty texture. I didn’t try the lamb as I don’t eat meat, but my boyfriend said it was perfectly cooked and the bechamel was ā€œbombā€ (his words). The service was very courteous and discreet, our server was Paola, she knows every dishes and was very helpful. We had a great time and will definitely be back to try some other dishes !

Nice night out

By Queen Bashi |

Came here on a Tuesday night. We got greeted and seated right away. The two server ladies were super nice and let us choose a table. It started getting packed after around 8 pm. It’s a nice spot with a very cute ambiance perfect for a first date! The best part about this place is that they have an open kitchen so you can actually watch your food getting ready ! The menu includes a lot of authentic Italian dishes including a large seafood option. They do not have hard liquor which I personally appreciate because it keeps it a little bit more on the higher end of family Resteraunt. They do have a nice champagne and wine options so you will definitely find something you like. We got the salmon and butternut squash ravioli. Both of it delicious. But the best thing was the tiramisu desert. Maybe also because it’s our favorite but this Resteraunt has one of the best ones I have ever had. We had a great time and I would come back here anytime.

Authentic Italian

By horasy |

The food was delicious. The waitstaff were very friendly and had true Italian accents. The pasta was delicious, I especially liked the gnocchi- sauce was outstanding! My husband had veal and enjoyed. The cappuccinos were recommended and were enjoyed by all. The area seemed fine, we walked from our hotel.

Family friendly

By QCao009 |

You can always tell a good southern Italian by its simmering sauce, whether on a pizza, or overlaying the meat and pasta. The eggplant Parmesan was excellent and I love the crisp salad.

Not All That

By M P |

The worst service ever. There was one server. We were patient but it was a 3 hour meal for 4 people. Charcuterie board was canned black olives, jar Gardenia and deli cold cuts. Not impressed,. Gluten free pizza was disgusting.

Excelept

By soxnation |

Had dinner here with a large party. They were very accommodating and the food was great. Menu included some great traditional Italian dishes, beer and wine. Atmosphere was quiet and charming being downtown.

Stellar food and service.

By Bakersfeld M |

We hardly ever go to downtown Miami, but my wife insisted we try Vero's on a Saturday evening. She was right. Well worth the trip (we live in Broward). Overall quality of the food and service was stellar. Fresh home cooked dishes, with an authentic Italian touch. From pizza to pasta and desserts, everything here is well worth trying.

The PRUFE

By Vlorzano |

Greeted by Paola (Owner) Ambiance: rustic romantic Background: Open 5 years, family owned & operated Beverages: wine, Diet Coke Appetizer: Octopus Salad: Cesar salad Entree: Ribeye Dessert: Coconut Panacotta Note: Parking lots and garages are aplenty! Paola greeted me at the door when she noticed me hovering while taking in the vibe and layout of the restaurant. I asked to be seated inside with a full view of the restaurant as I am a people watcher, and like to see the different types of people from all backgrounds that were coming through. I want to start with the wine which is a Murphy Goode out of California. It was divine as I mentioned because of the rich and fruity flavors that was an explosion for my normally unenthused tastebuds! How marvelous to have found a wine made in the USA! The appetizer was the Octopus alla Puttanesca, which according to the menu was "overnight sous vide" in their Puttanesca sauce. I would have preferred less olives, however, that's just a personal taste, I am sure its popularity isn't because many other patrons hated it. Now, I'm an absolute lover of CƩsar salad and theirs was oh-so creamy and rich! It's tangy sweetness had the French mustard alioli to thank, and I have never had prosciutto cubes (thought they were bacon bits, I'm such a plebeian in some instances). I did enjoy it very much, however, the generous heaping of chunky parmesan cheese may have been a bit much, since my tongue felt a little rough after eating the whole plate. So, don't say that I didn't warn you of the richness and let me just say YUMMYNESS of this salad! I had pizza for lunch, so I was not in the mood for that or any of the pasta entrees. I was in the mood for a ribeye after reading it was An Angus ribeye and sous vide cooked for 4 hours. Flavorful with hints of rosemary, garlic, and a tangy sweet flavor. The temperature was a little off at the ends of the steak. It's not the best steak, but I didn't expect the best steak from an Italian restaurant. Next time, I will be sure to try the pasta dishes which are aplenty. ***Keto recommendation*** Desert was a Coconut Pannacotta served with wild berries compote. Absolutely delicious and my favorite dessert for 2019 thus far from a new restaurant!! This decadent and oh-so light tasting heaven on a plate, is the perfect finale to a satisfying meal. I'm a coconut-a-holic and let me just say, this made the meal for me! Paola was super attentive throughout the meal and as the traffic increased, as it got later, she still presented herself to each table and gave that personal touch to each and everyone. This is what makes a meal memorable for me, is being welcomed and nurtured as if we were in your home. Great restaurant to consider for gatherings, as the inside is spacious and ambiance relaxing. Thank you Paola!

Amazing!

By Wanderer82038 |

Vero Italian remains downtown's best Italian restaurant. Charming ambience, authentic regional food, a great wine list. It is family owned, and you are welcomed like family. On this last visit, I had the duck ragù-insane! Homemade pasta, to die for sauce.

Still the best

By Manuel F |

After three years, we came back in one our trips from PR. Boy is it good! I can't say enough for the quality of the food, the attention, the romantic ambiance. Really worth the trip!

Great service, average food

By pcbermudez |

Cute spot but there was too much silence. Food was good but not incredible, must say that the best thing was the service. We had Pomodoro Bruschetta, not what we were expecting, just some toast with tomate and onions, no pomodoro sauce as we were expecting. Lasagna was good as same as Pumpkin ravioli. It was a good meal but not sure if I would go back

True Italian Kitchen

By Anthony K |

Vero has become my favorite Italian restaurant in Miami. Having spent many summers in Italy and enjoying home cooked meals, it's hard to find Italian food that lives up to my expectations, especially in Miami. Vero is the first restaurant I have ever wanted to try every dish on the menu... and I haven't been let down yet. Amazing food, great value, and excellent service!

High quality Italian restaurant

By Martin M |

It is a nice treat to find a family owned restaurant beside all the chains. This particular restaurant is owned by an Italian family. And they go to great lengths to give you a genuine Italian welcome. The food is authentic Italian, as are the wines. It was a pleasure to experience 'Bella Italia' in Miami!

Always Wonderful Service and Amazing Food

By Jax |

Whether having lunch with friends or going solo Vero never disappoints! Style and service is always impeccable without it being pretentious as it can be in some places. The owners are friendly as is their staff. The food is always delicious and the wine selection is one of my favorites. One of my favorite dishes is the Arugula e Finocchio salads as well as the Branzino If you’re ever in the area this is a must!

Downtown Miami’s little secret

By Bill H |

Wonderful service by Alvaro along with a super friendly staff in the back & the front who want to make sure you have everything you need and are enjoying the food. Get the pizza

Fantastic Italian

By Delatorrellc |

This family operated Italian restaurant serves up deliciously authentic food. The husband and wife, chef and hostess duo outshine the countless mediocre restaurants in town. Located in the heart of downtown Miami just a few short blocks from Bayside. Bread brought to the table was warm and fresh, the pizza was delicious and the the pasta was infused with flavor. We also had the burrata - delicious and a wonderful bottle of wine. The menu has just the right amount of selection and the prices are fair. Enjoy..

Great Italian food

By Marilu G |

If you are looking for great Italian food, Vero definitely has that! Being from Miami and knowing the restaurant is located in downtown, I chose to visit on a Wednesday afternoon. There wasn't many people and my guest and I were seated right away. The server even asked whether we preferred to be seated inside or outside. Since Florida actually had cool weather that day, we chose to sit outside. The outside seating is located in a small pathway with dim lighting, which made it feel very cozy. From the moment we sat down, our waitress made us feel comfortable and poured us both a glass of water. A little after settling in, the owner (Paola), approached us and asked if it we were familiar at all with Italian food and made a few recommendations. My guest ordered the pizza Diavola, which is a pizza with spicy Italian salami and some chili oil drizzle over the top. I, on the other hand, ordered the Linguine Nere, which is linguine made with squid ink, giving it a black appearance on the pasta. The linguine was made with shrimp and calamari, but included some arugula, tomatoes and some chili as well. Needless to say, the food was incredible. I can definitely say our taste buds were blown away. Unfortunately, being that the restaurant is located in Downtown Miami, parking is a bit of a hassle and can be a little pricey for some. On the bright side, there is a parking garage on the same street in which Vero is located and it is really only a couple of steps away from the garage.

Amazing italian restaurant!

By Diane B |

Delicious food! We loved the Parmigiana di Melanzane and the seefood pasta, the quality is as good as in Italy. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. We did not try the desserts

A good Italian restaurant in Miami

We had good time there and we had gluten free options for my daughter. The restaurant was very nice but the area was less good

Recommended!

Incredibly pleasant atmosphere inside the restaurant. We took the carbonara and the amatriciana, and they can definitely be recommended! They have their own gluten-free pasta, which was also very good.

Great after work

By Adrea C |

I absolutely LOVE Vero Italian ! It’s officially my favorite downtown’s spot. I work in the area so I discovered it one day while looking for a cool place nearby the office. They have a great wine selection, but also make sure to try one of their delicious pizzas ! Place is really cute and would probably be a great pick for a date night as well.

Good

By loqueseaya |

This restaurant has good food, and decent size portions. Recipes quite basic, but good. As every other place in Miami they include 20% service fee without asking.

Top quality Never Disappoint!

I borught all my family here for pizzas last night, i must admit once amazed by the quality of the ingredients and the friendly service. Had a selection of pizzas and we happily shared them between us, two really fantastic bottle of wines completed our superb experience!

Authentic & Gorgeous

By acuteangleeats |

This is easily the most beautiful locale on the block- a restaurant situated in between concrete pillars of downtown buildings, Vero Italian stands out with its glass panes and natural lighting from its many windows, as well as the wooden accents and greenery decorating the entrance. Owned by a husband and wife from Italy, the menu boasts authenticity and genuine Italian flavors and service. This lovely restaurant hosts indoor and outdoor seating- and we chose to sit indoors, where casual elegance is the theme. We were greeted warmly by the owner and offered a drink immediately. My mom opted for a wine and was recommended the Chardonnay, which she claims to be some of the best she's had. After looking over the menu, we were somewhat at a loss and ended up relying on some suggestions for our dining experience. We ended up choosing the Involtini di Melanzane e Ricotta- a delicious dish with ricotta & provolone that was cheesy and saucy, and paired perfectly with the complementary bread. The owner highly recommended the Rigatoni Alla Carbonara as one of their true authentic dishes from home, and my mom chose that as her entree. I went with The Linguine Nere- as I've been dying to try a squid ink platter for some time now. Our appetizer was served quickly and we devoured every bit of it, dipping our bread in the cheese and tomato. The server was very attentive and often came around to replace our waters and clear any used cutlery and plates. Once our pastas were brought out, we were ready to dig in. I LOVED my linguine- there was a perfect amount of chili to give it a hint of spice and it was a gorgeous plate. The rigatoni was also incredible and the pancetta was savory and gave the whole dish amazing flavor. For dessert, we opted for the Panna Cotta and the Tiramisu. This was easily the best Tiramisu I've had thus far. The coffee flavor was perfectly balanced to the sponge, and the cream was amazing. We had never had Panna Cotta before and we loved it- a mild sweetness, which perfectly topped our meal! We truly enjoyed our visit and I want to come back to try some of their pizza- I saw a Peri Peri pie calling my name!

Fantastic!

By PCUTMom |

Our family of 5 enjoyed a wonderful meal at Vero. The polpo appetizer and Branzino were perfect! Our group also gave rave reviews to the gnocchi and the carbonara. We finished by sharing two servings of the delicious torta al limone. The service was fantastic. We were not rushed and enjoyed a lovely meal together. We will be back!

Authentic food

By Twoandahalffoodies |

Paolo - the owner is a genuinely nice guy. He treat us like we were family and made sure everything was perfect. He recommended the gnocchi and paired wines to our meals. We had the Bruschetta and Gnocchi for appetizer. Yum! I had the squid ink pasta with lobster, this can be spicy, I opted for minimal spice, the pasta is made fresh in house and you can totally taste that. The wine was delicious - Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio & Mosacato D’asti. And my favorite desserts were the coconut panna cotta & the lava cake (best I have ever had, it was on the bitter side which I love, so if your not a fan of dark chocolate you should pass on that). Outdoor seating is a little noisy, if you prefer the quiet you should sit inside.

Very romantic

Great italian restaurant , very good service , the food was real good !! I will deff come back with same friends !!

Great Lunch

By James M |

My partner and I visited for lunch in June. The restaurant is located in a breezeway with several other interesting restaurants. In addition to the regular menu, they offer a luncheon special for $10 which includes generous portions of pizza, salad, pasta or a panini sandwich plus a drink. My partner had lasagna, and I had the panini sandwich. Both were outstanding. The sauce on the lasagna was especially good. We both took home enough for another lunch. A real bargain for downtown Miami, plus exceptional quality.

Elegant Lunch!

By MDC |

Very nice Italian place. Bright, clean, and food was good and fresh. I ordered the lunch special pizza which was delicious! Lots of business folks here on their lunch breaks, or holding informal lunch meetings. Also some ladies out for some shopping and lunch. Highly recommended!

Great place for Dinner

Out to Dinner with my son (Mom and Dad) and his Boss and family. We had a wonderful time. Good selection. The service and food was great. I had the Duck which was prepared just the way I like it. Other had Rib Eye steak, Salmon and Fish. All were well prepared and tasty. A bottle of wine to complement the meal. The restaurant was clean with a nice decor. No rush to eat. Turned out to be a very enjoyable evening..

Authentic Italian

Paola and Paolo from Rome run this restaurant. Such a great lunch spot with $10 combos. Please be patient as you cannot rush quality. Loved the authenticity of the food!

Omg so good!

Stumbled in this cute restaurant after a work meeting today. This is really great Italian food here and service is also very caring. I had bucatini pasta with spicy pork belly and it just was out of this world. Looking at they're proud showing of TA frames I took the time to download the app and write this review. Thank you Vero you made my day see you again soon

Exceptional Lunch Special for the Area!

By kfitzeats |

My experience here was amazing! I came in for lunch with my boyfriend as I saw that they have a great lunch special deal for $10 including a soda or unlimited sparkling water. The lunch special menu includes whole pizzas, their delicious house made pasta, or a sandwich with soup. My boyfriend decided to try the Neopoltena which was a remarkably delicious pizza with anchovies and kalamata olives. We absolutely the pizza and I think its one of my new favorites in Miami. I decided to try their spaghetti alla amatriciana which had crispy pork belly diced small with their red sauce......it was perfect! My meal truly reminded me how good spaghetti can be when its hand made.......nothing at all reminiscent of the spaghetti we keep in our cupboards! I can't wait to come back to try more out of their lunch special menu. A must try for those that live in or work within the area! Who doesn't love authentic Italian food?! IG: KFitzEats

A perfect evening

By W0lfpackm0m |

We stumbled on this cozy restaurant just half a block from our hotel. We were warmly greeted by the owner and she helped guide us to the selection of one of the tastiest Italian dishes and wine we have ever experienced. She and her husband, both from Italy, operate this gem of a restaurant. A memorable experience and not to be missed!

Great Italian

By Ny trees |

Very good food. This is not cheap. Expect to pay $30 a plate and $15 a glass of wine. That said the food is first rate. Served and prepared hot. I have done 900 reviews. This was one of the best restaurants I have been to. Enjoy.

Awesome Italian Find!

By Andrea P |

Hidden Gem in the Downtown area! Happy to have heard about Vero because it might've been. Hard discovery for me. Italian restaurant with a romantic and dim setting. Had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners. You can really tell this restaurant is her baby. She was greeting all customers as they walked in, seating them, and taking the orders. That's something you don't always see! She also mentioned that the chef is from Rome, so you know it's the real deal! We started off with two glasses of their Pino Grigo, very light and crisp. For the entrees, my boyfriend ordered the Bolognese, and I was a little more adventurous with the Linguine Nere. Both plates came out hot and fresh. Loved the Linguine Nere, but maybe could've had a little more seafood. My boyfriend also enjoyed his pasta. Service was great, always very quick and checking in when needed. Would love to come back with friends to try some different dishes!

Stronly recommend it

By llamurtad |

I'm not a fan of going to Downtown Miami, but this one is well worth it. Cozy place, well decorated and good vibes. One of the finest Italian restaurants in Miami, featuring many options for health conscious people, like gluten free and veggies. Service is very good, and they also have a wide variety of liquor and wines. Not too loud, but cheerful place. I will come back !

HORRIBLE SERVICE - FOOD NOT MUCH BETTER

By mak562017 |

Party of two on 2/19/23, a quiet Sunday evening. Seated right away. Placed order - mine was pork loin. Waiter asked if I wanted it done "medium or well". I asked for well done. Pork was RARE. Waiter NEVER came back to the table to ask if everything was ok, to refill drinks, etc. Had to flag him down for the bill. Over $100 for basic food - no alcohol was ordered and only one ice tea. They also added an 18% gratuity automatically and then had the nerve to leave a place on the bill for and ADDITIONAL TIP!

Clean and good

I enjoyed a meal here last December, it was a pretty standard menu and the staff were very friendly.

Amazing Italian Restaurant in the Heart of Downtown

By martinezc613 |

I had the pleasure of visiting Vero for the first time the night before Valentine’s Day for a Galentine’s Day dinner. As you can imagine, it was pretty busy but that didn’t hinder the quality of service I received. Upon being seated, we were greeted by a friendly server. One thing that stuck out to me was how authentic the restaurant seemed. Living in Miami we tend to find a lot of Americanized restaurants but it seemed this restaurant stayed true to its Italian roots. I had the lasagna and boy, was it delicious. The lasagna was a very large portion and it was so good, I finished the whole thing! For dessert my friend and I split the tiramisu and the coconut panacotta. The coconut panacotta, was unlike any typical dessert I’ve ever had. I wish it would’ve been bigger because it was so delicious! I’m very familiar with the downtown area and am surprised I hadn’t tried Vero before. Overall, I had a great experience and would say it’s among the best Italian restaurants in the area.

Real FRESH Italian

By Ali S |

This Italian restaurant is a diamond in the rough in the middle of concrete downtown Miami. If you’re looking for an authentic and really fresh Italian meal, look no further than Vero. My sister and I were practically the only ones in the restaurant speaking English, so immediately we could tell that Vero was The spot for Italian locals. It’s storefront, what looks like a wooded hole in the wall, starkly contrasts the rest of the Miami views. We had the gnocchi as an appetizer. I’ve only had gnocchi a few times before, but their combination of gnocchi and tomato sauce and cheese is now my favorite. The tomato sauce and basil garnish was so fresh that I wondered were their garden was hidden. I love tomatoes, and I could really tell that these were not out of a can. My sister and I split a plate of pasta as well as a pizza, a very good serving of food for the both of us. The food took quite a while to come out, another sign of just how freshly it is made. We got the Vero Italian downtown pizza, which I HIGHLY recommend. This pizza was covered in sausage, mushrooms, goat cheese, and truffle oil—a combination I was hesitant to try at first, but it was incredible. The pasta plate was the bucatini a amatriciana spaghetti, and the sauce was a bit spicy, but very smoothly done. This was another dish you can tell is super fresh. The thick spaghetti noodles were difficult to fork into your mouth gracefully, but hey it’s Italian food! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful when it came to choosing a plate. You can clearly see that Vero takes pride in making their dishes authentically and from scratch. This restaurant has a very romantic vibe and is perfect for date night and intimacy. If you are visiting the Miami area and want to try some of the cuisine variety that Miami has to offer, Vero is a must!

Outstanding Italian restaurant!!

By Diegole58 |

Outstanding Italian restaurant!! I went in this place with my wife and another couple of friends. The restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Miami with a close easy parking. All details in the restaurant come back is to Italy: color, furniture, dishes, plants and light were as a typical Italian lounge . The foods delicious and authentic taste of Italy. Outstanding wine list. I ha e to be back soon

Simple & Superb

By Sid K |

Had made a reservation for 2 @ 6:30 on a Friday and expected the place to be busy. It was not yet and our server-to-be, wonderful Paolo, invited us to sit wherever we liked. We chose a table in the covered outdoor area across from the open kitchen. It had a gentle breeze. For our meal we ordered the Napoli Pizza as an appetizer instead of bread. The kalamata olives and anchovy toppings were great counterpoint to a bottle of Chianti Classico. Our entrees were a perfectly prepared Rigatoni Alla Carbonara and a special of butterflied, grilled Branzino accompanied by two Lobster Ravioli in a Pink Lobster Bisque sauce plus a lovely measure of Arugula salad. A grilled half lemon, juiciest I’ve ever seen, spread additional sunshine to all components on the plate. We finished our meal with a shared salad of romaine, tomato, red onion and delicious olives with vinaigrette, simple and delicious. Vero is a tucked-away gem that truly brings Italy to Miami.

They don't have pizzas on the menu.

By Diana |

They don't have pizzas. The ricotta and spinach ravioes are rather filled with just ricotta, they were cold and needed a little overcooking. The friendly attention. Bad quality-price ratio

Amazing Experience and Meal!

By Kaitlin S |

What an amazing restaurant to visit while On vacation with our family from Boston. The owners are husband and wife and hail From Italy and it was no surprise their food and it’s presentation was top notch. We started with the Antipasto Platter- amazing roasted eggplant, peppers, mushrooms meats and cheeses. We then had the Veal pasta and the carbonara did NOT disappoint. Homemade pasta and fresh made to order food. Definitely a must visit! We will be back!!!

Pizza PAOLO: your paradise pizza

By Willypau80 |

Today I decided to try their new pizza !!! Paolo the chef asked me which one I preferred and I told him: Diabola, caramelized onions and arugula. 5 minutes later I got my exquisite pizza pairing with a glass of Vermentino calasole from Tuscany. WOW what an amazing pairing. Good job my friend and see you soon !!!! Ciao ciao

Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Special prices for lunch reasonable based on the quality of the food.

Great atmosphere for dining

By Stian P |

If your looking for a cozy place with great atmosphere in the downtown area, this is the right place to visit. We had a lovely Italian meal here, and the wine we got recommend by the staff was exactly what we wanted. I will definitely revisit next time I’m in Miami.

A little underwhelming

By HoboDiner |

Based on the all the high praise of prior reviews, I stopped into Vero to take a break from all the great seafood and Latin options in Miami. At 8:30 on a Tuesday, it was so dead that I had to ask if they were still open, never a great sign. I just had a simple pizza which was well executed with a generous helping of chili oil, which was a nice twist. It was good, but pretty much in line with your typical brick oven joint in NY and NJ. The crust was not very crispy, but the ingredients were definitely fresh. Service was solid and the warm baked bread served upfront may have been the highlight of the meal. I sat at the small bar to watch a game that the bartender was kind enough to put on. For some reason the owner won't shell out for cable and has ROKU which reloads every five minutes and requires an advanced degree to operate. Seems like a small expense to give time back to your waitstaff and improve the customer experience.

Cozy romantic place in Downtown Miami

By Mamita Sin Culpa |

I went with my husband to this restaurant on a Saturday night and we really liked it. We loved the ambience, the music and the lightning were very romantic. We started with the grilled octopus and it was the first time I tried in a bed of tomatoes it was really good. Then my husband had the meat lasagna and he said he loved it, I don’t eat meat so I didn’t try it but I believe him. I had the gnocchi with truffle (a vegetarian dish in case you don’t eat meat) and it was insane. We didn’t have any dessert because we were full but I’m going to have to come back to try one. The only negative thing I could say about this place is the parking. It was kind of hard to find so I suggest to take a Lyft/Uber

Bad food

By OnAir582693 |

They don't have the specialty, it doesn't look like Italian food, the change is not like before, the noodles needed to be cooked, they charged for things we didn't ask for, the service was very slow, the food had a 40 minute wait, terrible service in general.

Great service and food

By Christopher G |

My wife and I had supper while on a work trip. Had great service and the food was very fresh and the wine recommendation was spot on. The tomato sauce was some of the best we ever had. The sauce makes the food in a lot of Italian dishes. I would recommend a visit.

Thoroughly enjoyed our late dinner.

By rob k |

What a pleasant find! In town for a cruise the next day we were looking for something light. Great atmosphere, charming decor, friendly staff. We split the Pappardelle Veal and Fantasia salad. Mmmmm... tasty! Chatted with Chef Paolo, who was born in Italy... which explains why the food is soooo good.

Good dinner

By Lizloo |

We went to the Italian with a couple of friends and the kids.It was a very cute little Italian. The service was outstanding and the woman was so nice and at the end of the meal she gave us a free cake! The food was outstanding and have quite a few different choices. It was abut cold and there was no fries and only one toilet shared and it had contact rappers in it and wasn't that clean. But overall it was great !

Lovely spot for dinner

Has pizza and 2 pastas entrees and some bruschetta. All delicious, great service as well. Little pricey for pasta would be my only complaint.

A awesome casual italian food

By cjpgomes |

You would not stop there if you were passing by, late in the evening. Maybe you would not even turn your head if you were passing by during noon. But they deliver an awesome food. All dishes were perfect. Service is quite attentive. You will get back to try other dishes, for sure.

Authentic Italian and great Environment

I requested for the Chef to surprise me with my meal. Started with a burrata and flavors were amazing. Followed by a Ribeye steak that could be cut with a fork wow wow wow. Finished with a chocolate lava cake (A must). Make sure to ask about wine pairings, they have a great selection. Will for sure return

Spectacular!

The experience was spectacular. I am a lover of carbonara! The home made pasta with his mix of sauce was out of this world. Two of us had and confirm. Parking is a bit of a challenge……don’t let that stop you from making trip. Bucatini A Matriciana was out of this world! Great work and service

High-End Pricey Italian, Excellent Gnocchi

By Nupester |

I had an excellent plate of gnocchi with pesto sauce, one of the best I’ve had. But it’s very pricey and relatively small portions. The pizza was just fair, meatballs were good, marinara sauce very good. It’s in the city and has charming decor including semi-outside covered seating. Our service was good.

Family run, family friendly and good

By ReedSpeed |

Vero is a neat little family run authentic italian restaurant. It has both indoor a/c seating and outdoor seating, which can be a little warm in summer but there are fans. Service (the wife) was very friendly and accommodating. The food (chef is husband) was excellent. The Amatricana, gnocchi, and bolognese were amazing. They also have an espresso bar and good desserts. Enjoy!

Solid Italian Fare at a reasonable price.

Greeted by owner/hostess Paola is a pleasure with a warm smile on her face. Paolo, also owner is an excellent chef with a solid formal 4 year education in the culinary arts. They have everything going for them: Service, food, atmosphere and pricing. If you want to enjoy authentic Italian fare, Vero is the place!

Great pasta.

By Jorge D D |

Great pasta. Super service. Family owned. Commitment to quality. Every time the same; simply great. Last night we had the best past we ever had anywhere.

Terrible experience

By Ameena |

Had dinner at Vero with a group of 10 colleagues last week...here are our thoughts: The not-so-great ambiance started things off on a bad note. The restaurant had a terrible smell (not food related) and wasn't very clean. The bathroom was absolutely filthy. We sat upstairs in a private room which was nice but honestly the smell was just worse up there. Service was rocky at best. There appeared to be one waitress for the entire restaurant. She was nice but also stretched very thin. It took FOREVER to place an order for drinks, appetizers, and food took 2 HOURS to get to us. She later told us this was because of a stove issue in the kitchen but why not tell us that in advance so we weren't waiting interminably? We could have gone elsewhere. Also, appetizers came with dinner so what was the point of ordering those? Food itself wasn't too good...my pasta was super al dente and almost inedible. The side of roasted potatoes was partially burned. Complimentary bread was tasteless. Others enjoyed their lasagna and other pasta dishes but someone said their dish was overly salted so things weren't too consistent. Sorry I don't have good things to say about Vero when so many other Yelpers do! But truly this was a terrible experience and I'm being generous with the two stars.

Good, not Great

By gabymak |

The staff at Vero is very nice, accommodating and efficient. The bread is outstanding! The bruschetta appetizer was also delicious! The Arugula, Endive salad with nuts, shaved chicken and fennel was quite good. The Bucatini Amatriciana was very good, a bit spicy. Unfortunately, the pappardelle with mushrooms dish was inedible. They used a very bland mushroom and even blander clear sauce. While good, we could not rate it as best.

Lovely atmosphere

By Jan Fredrik M |

Was dropping by after reading about it on TripAdvisor, it didn’t disappoint. Friendly staff and the food was very good too.

MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN MIAMI.

By Angela Daniela R |

This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Miami. To start, service is great. The staff is very pleasant. When they assign you a seat, immediately they give you a menu and another staff member serves you water. Then, the server approaches the table and explains you the menu and their weekly special. I usually order one of their delicious appetizers like the burrata (this is my favorite) or bruschetta. Followed of a beautiful pasta, the Lobster Ravioli, this is my favorite main course from the entire menu. I always finish off with a chocolate lava cake. Also, they have a good selection of wines and the server are very knowledgeable of wine pairing options. Appreciate that they are constantly making sure everything it's ok. Other top picks are: Papardelle al funghi porcini, Gnocchi di Carote, Bucatini a Amatriciana. Their pizzas are very good too. I could say they have one of the best pizzas in Miami hands down. Lastly, the ambiance is ideal, they have the right music at the right volume.

Best restaurant in downtown Miami

Vero Italian is located in midtown Miami an easy walk from my hotel or uber. Welcoming both the enviroment and the staff extremely helpful. My boyfriend order a parmigiana pizza and I order paccheri sicilian way with swordfish, all really tasty and delicious, and a good glass of red wine recommended by the owner Paola. For Italians how miss a good real italian pasta or an American who wants to eat really italian this is the right restaurant! :) It was nice to talk with Paola and we can't wait to coming back! Hopefully soon! Thank you! Gaia e Davide

Incredible. Amazing. Deliciously Italian

By I_fly_frequently |

Very unassuming small restaurant in a converted alleyway, but don't let that fool you. The service was very good and very friendly. The main thing is the food! Everything from the bread to the soup, to the starters, to the mains, were absolutely authentic and truly truly delicious! My compliments to the owners and the chef! So good I went back the following night!

An oasis in Miami

I stayed in Miami for more than one year now and Vero has alway been my Italian oasis... came here for amazing pizza twice a months and enjoined with a whole bunch of of true ā€œveroā€ Italians. If you visiting miami you must try Vero! I’m leaving on Thursday and I’ll bring vero with me back to Italy

Authentic Italian

By GattoViziato |

As the name would suggest (Vero -means real Italian food), the owners are from Milan Italy. So, I was very excited to try some authentic Italian food down in Miami. The large appetizer dish with assorted tastings did not disappoint. From cheeses, to prosciutto, to egg plant parmigiana. Overall not bad. Then I decided to order a signature pasta dish, perhaps that's where it went wrong. The matrichana pasta dish order is a typical Roman pasta dish, and on the menu it stated that the dish would be a little spicy. Well the dish was spicy but the red sauce did not taste like a typical Italian sauce that one would get in Italy. The sauce was really sweet and the spice seemed like it was hot sauce mixed into the pasta dish. I was a little disappointed. Overall experience was very nice thanks to the owners but a little disappointed on my pasta dish selection. Next time I will have to try one of their non pasta signature dishes.

Delicious food and warm welcome

By CaroJane |

We visited and had bruschetta as a starter followed by the chicken in a mushroom and white wine sauce. We chose a delicious Italian white wine, which I had not heard of so the waiter very obligingly gave me a taste to see if I liked it. Overall very nice food indeed and charming service, I would recommend it

Molte Grazie, Vero Italia!

By cristina_maria1978 |

Quite possibly THE most hiddenest (is that a word?) gem in all Miami! Now I know Downtown Miami inside & out, having worked in the area many times over the years but having dinner there is very unusual. Downtown virtually shuts down at nightfall so it was difficult for me to visualize where it was. Once we walked in, we were completely transported to another place. The hostess/waitress/all-around doer, Erica, welcomed us warmly, although we could tell she was a bit frazzled. The restaurant itself is lovely. Split into 2, very distinct areas, we were seated in the bar area, in a sort of outdoor (yet roofed) atrium separate from the "indoor" area, with grape vines dangling throughout. Our hightop-table was made out of a wine barrel to further carry the Italian rustic vibe. One of the first things I noticed off the bat was how PACKED it was... People waiting for 20 or so minutes just to be seated! Definitely a good sign in my opinion but poor Erica & the ONE other waitress were crazy busy with a completely full restaurant! I felt so bad for them but they handled it with grace & professionalism. We ordered wine, asked for bread & began to look through the elegant menu. For starters, my friend & I decided to share the Burrata Salad (mozzarella, oregano, roasted tomatoes, apple balsamic reduction). It was SPECTACULAR! So much flavour in each of the ingredients & together, a wonderful, welcoming dish that only got us more excited for our main course! My friend chose the Black Linguini with Lobster & I had the Rigatoni Puttanesca. The pastas were absolutely delicious, perfectly al dente & packed with flavour. SO good! For dessert, we chose the classic Tiramisu (at Erica's suggestion) which was divine! So happy to have discovered this delicious place & can not wait to be back! Bravo, Vero Italia, BRAVO!

Exploring pasta-bilities

Authentic Italian restaurant tucked away in downtowns hidden village. Very cute decor, perfect for a date night. Came in for lunch and was greeted and seated immediately. Service was amazing and the food delicious! Loved the fresh Burrata with roasted tomatoes. The squid ink linguine with shrimp and calamari was phenomenal and OMG the Tiramisu was the perfect end to this amazing meal. Can wait to visit again! Parking can be a little tricky, I recommend the garage next door which is only about $3-5. They also deliver through Grubhub

Great place to enjoy a delicious meal

We were very pleased with the selection of this Italian restaurant for a fine dining experience. The waitress and staff were attentive and not obtrusive. We sate outside because the weather was so nice. We were very pleased with the menu selections and the entire experience. We had the beet salaud, Calabrest Duck and the Cornish hen.

A Slice if Italy in Downtown Miami

By Michael S |

Recently I had the pleasure of dining at a quaint gem of a restaurant called Vero Italian. The moment I walked into the establishment I was greeted with a warm welcome from the staff as if I was family and I immediately knew I was in for a treat. This was my first time eating here so I asked for a suggestion from the incredibly friendly and vivacious Paula. She definitely hit the mark with her recommendations. For my appetizer I had a deliciously fresh octopus that was just the right firmness and seasoned to perfection. My main course I devoured the homemade truffle gnocci, which was light and airy in a fresh white sauce with cherry tomatoes. As satisfied as I was I couldn’t refrain from indulging in the most mouthwatering chocolate lava cake I’ve ever tasted in my life. This place is a triple threat. Between the brilliantly talented chef Paolo the wait staff and the family like ambiance I can’t think of any other place I’d rather eat in Miami. I’m hooked.

An ok Italian dining experience..

By Adam S |

To start, I wanted to give a background based on my overall star rating: -Service: 1 star -Food: 5 stars -Overall Average: 3 stars My partner and I came to Vero on a Saturday night at 8 PM and it was slightly busy (about 7 or 8 tables). We had a reservation confirmed a week in advance. When we arrived, one couple was waiting with us at the restaurant entry and no one greeted us for about 10 minutes. When we finally were greeted by owner Paula, she said they were too busy due to the Miami Marathon and couldn't accommodate the reservation (despite having at least 2 or 3 tables open). After mentioning once again that we had a reservation, she then sat us at a dirty table which remained dirty for the duration of the meal. From the way it appeared Paula was the only server and also was seating people as well. They had at least 2 or 3 support staff bussing dishes from your table and taking food from the kitchen, but it looked like she needed additional support taking orders, etc. After being seated, we were very patient, we waited about 20 minutes and then had to flag down Paula to acknowledge that we were ready to place our order. She then showed up at our table and just said "What?" and was pretty cold to us for most of the meal. For drinks, they offer standard options (tea, coffee, soft drinks, and beer and wine). We ordered a bottle of Italian Chianti ($38). Fortunately, the food really made it up to us. For food, we ordered the Il Plato della Casa ($26.90) to start. This is a must order for starters! The shared plate had a variety of sliced meats, cheeses, eggplant parmesan, olives, and mushrooms. Everything was very flavorful and the food quality was amazing. For entrees, we ordered the Fettuccine Bolognese ($18.50) and the Bucatini a Amatriciana ($19.50). Both pastas were very large portions and had great flavor, and all pastas are made fresh in house. The Bucatini was a little spicy due to chili in the mix.. so if you're sensitive to spicy foods, ask for it to be modified. But I loved it, it gave it a nice little kick! :) We were full by the time we got through with the tasting plate and entrees so we declined dessert, but all of the dessert options looked great as well! If you drive to the area, there are a number of private parking lots in the vicinity, expect to spend between $10-25 for parking. Would I come back? Probably not, the food was good, but service lacked. There are many other great Italian restaurants throughout Miami with better service.

Outstanding food

Have not experienced this quality of italian food in the many places i visited in Miami. The quality of the ingradients used in this little retaurant really stands up, we look forward tho ne next visit when we are coming back to Miami. Definitely reccomended.

Small, intimate Italian restaurant

By Lori B |

Simply loved this place! The bread is homemade and delicious! We ordered the bruschetta and it was the best I've ever had. The tomatoes were sweet and the balsamic was very high quality. We shared the rigatoni carbonara and it was tremendous! The portion was so big and the dish so rich, we couldn't finish it. I highly recommend Vero! The servers were so sweet!

Excellent food delightfully served

We enjoyed a most pleasant meal at Vero. It is a small, welcoming place and the staff were friendly and attentive. Our meals were delicious, we could easily converse, and we were never rushed. Highly recommended.

First one star review

By David D |

While a comical experience it is not about the food which was good. We had a 6pm reservation and were served our meal after 9pm. In the 3 plus hours we were there our server came by only 4 times before receiving our entree. Asked for tap water and got bottles. Ordered wine and it was the worst I have ever tasted (this was my choice so I am to blame but couldn’t believe it was on the menu. Water bottles, glasses and plates which were empty and pushed to the side were not removed until we requested them to be (something I have not experienced even in a diner). After 2 plus hours and tables that were seated after us already being finished with their meals we were told food would be out in 10 minutes which was a horrendous estimate. Will never return and had to pay an automatic tip on a bill that clearly should have been a case where the restaurant vehemently apologized for their failure.

Again a great dinner!

How do you run out of pizza

By John H |

What a horrible place to go to. I made a reservation a week prior for my sons birthday for him and 8 friends right after fox in the box next door. When we showed up the owner who acts like she only talks Italian and not English was making faces when she saw we showed up.then I asked to order the kids pizza and she came back to tell us that the table before us ordered the last two pizzas and there wasn’t any more and so to order pasta. BTW it’s a Saturday night 8:00 pmHow does an Italian restaurant with maybe 30 items on there menu and pizza takes up about half run out of pizza?? I won’t pass by here or even drive in front of this pathetic restaurant again.

Great authentic Italian meal.

Loved this place. Super cute outdoor seating area that you would never guess is there. Food was absolutely delicious. We had the bruschetta, 2 pastas and dessert. Pasta was so fresh. Service was excellent.

Excellent pasta

Vero means "True" in Italian. Chef from Rome, wife from Milan. Brought recipes with them that are unique. Sat outside and watched chef do his work. Walking distance from Langford Hotel. Linguine, inked pasta with lobster, shrimp good. Lamp chops alittle tough. Ceasar salad was uniquely different and great. Reasonably priced.

Excellent food and service

By BB1938 |

This restaurant is not too far from our apartment, so we decided to try their pizza and other Italian dishes. We had pizza Margherita and pasta carbonara, both were very good. The place is not easy to find if you have not been there before but it is well decorated as a restaurant in Italy. The staff is Italian, so it has a very nice European atmosphere. We enjoyed dinner and the service very attentive and prompt. We will return.

Great italian place

By Jake R |

The food is definitely why I regularly visit this place, it is very tasty and constant, especially their pasta dishes that are just perfect. I like the friendly yet professional service, not pushy though unlike many places in Miami where you’re constantly encouraged to order more. If do stop by their bar before dinner, make sure to ask for Javier, his special cocktails never disappoints!

An Amazing Taste of Italy

By Julie Q |

Vero is a go-to lunch spot for me and it never disappoints! The food and atmosphere are authentic Italian and I look forward to every meal I have here. The food is always fresh and delicious and I would 100% recommend Vero if you're looking for an authentic Italian meal in Miami!

Melrose Abbey in Scotland

By hectorfrommiami |

As an avid photographer my reviews are mainly focused on photo opportunities as well as historic and touristic issues. This Abbey was part of a tour that also covered the countryside, the estatue of William Wallace and Rosslyn Chapel. Melrose is in ruins but what a det of riuns!!! Beautiful place, majestic and royal. The standing structures are breathtaking and the chance to go upstairs to the roof to admire the view from above is a must. Been an open place in ruins

Delicious burrata salad at Vero Italian

By Princess C |

I went to the gym next door and i was gladly surprised by an italian conner with very friendly owners, i tried the burrata salad witch was delicious. They gave it a whole new twist with a worm tomato layer between the burrata and the lettuce. A beautiful combination of balsamic vinegar, all around the plate, and the flavor of the fresh spices in the salad just was perfect. I had a taste of the ravioli with pear and nuts from the owners they where having a tasting and got me involved ... it was just unbelievably delicious. That will be my choice for next time.

Not a good experience

Food was cold and watery. It appeared to have been frozen and heated up in a microwave. Wine had a vinegar taste like it had been opened for a few days. Service was rude.

Vero Date Night

By Dailenys Ponce |

Pretty good experience overall, just had a few weird moments. First of all the place is very beautiful. It was a little hard to find at first because there were no big signs amidst all of the other shops so i had a hard time at finding it. This place does not match it's surrounding at all. While it is located in a harsh part of south downtown Miami, it is beautifully out of place. The inside has a great Italian vibe to it, everything was nice and clean and you also have the option to sit outside, perfect for date night. The food was pretty good, we initially got 2 pieces of bread to the table which were very warm and delicious but when we asked if we could have more bread we were told by the waitress that she did not know if we could, she had to "ask" the chef. I found that a little weird that you have to ask the chef if the guests can have more bread, especially when i realized that the waitress was also the owner of the place. She was not very communicative, the most we spoke was maybe 3 times. I had the lasagna which was pretty good but could be better, maybe with some ricotta instead of mozzarella. We also the truffle gnocchi which were delicious with the honey drizzle but i wish the portion was bigger. The plate was devoured in 3 bites. The only huge disappointment was the dessert, we had the chocolate brownie with ice cream and honestly i was expecting more. The ice cream was great but the brownie tasted like those you can make in the microwave. Really dense and dry and not flavorful at all. Overall it was a pretty good experience, there just needs to be better communication between staff and guests and maybe upgrade a few things on the menu. My last advice that has nothing to do with the restaurant is be careful of the area, they are very strict especially with parking. We were 20 minutes over on a Thursday night and we got a ticket which spoiled the mood.

We were in Miami for vacation and staying right nearby this restaurant. The food was delicious and the portions generous. The atmosphere was also really good šŸ˜ŠšŸ˜Ž

Nice Italian

By Troels J |

Living 85 meters away you have to try and I was not disappointed. I had my doubts, even after the bland bread basket but when I got my carbonara I was 100% sold. A very good Italian lave but in European standards it is average; in Miami standards I can understand it is the 3rd best in town(???)

We chose this restaurant as

By Matth |

We chose this restaurant as the reviews we read were really good... it turned out the food was even better than what we’ve had expected!!! The house pizza ( the Vero downtown) was delicious and the tomato sauce on it was probably the best we ever had (and we are from Europe). The gnocchi al tartuffo were amazing as well. Great place to eat delicious italian food! We definitely recommend it!
