Great food and great service

By N C |

We were traveling through TX and searched for food places and this came up with great ratings. The food was great, absolutely loved the brussels sprouts and we were able to order our pizza exactly as we needed it. Our server Ryan was awesome. Will be back again if ever in the area.

Excellent Pizza, but Can You Make the Booths a Little Bigger?

By jim6918 |

This is the second Via 313 Pizza restaurant I have eaten at in Austin, and if I could muster any complaint, it's that the booths are just too damn small. I have a healthy waistline, but this is ridiculous. We are usually a party of six, and both times have ended up being seated at a booth. I don't mind close quarters, but trying to eat with my stomach lapped up over the table is stupid. This time, the server gave me a chair to sit at the end of the booth in the aisle. Somehow, tiny waistlines and pizza don't seem to go together. All that aside, the pizza here is excellent. The crust is just thick enough, the toppings and sauce are among the best I have ever had. I didn't recognize any of the local craft beers on draft, but the server knew just what to suggest when I described my preferences. I had the beet salad, which was really very good. Our server was very good. My wife likes this place, so I guess I better get used to sitting at the end of the booth like some kid in a high chair; or lose weight, which doesn't look promising if I keep eating pizza.

Taste was about average

By A_TX_Traveler2013 |

To our liking, the overall experience was not worth the price. Service was not that great and the taste was not something out of the ordinary.

Oh so good

By Phil G |

Ate here after visiting the Austin rodeo. Ordered a salad, a deep dish pizza and a thin pizza. The pizza is awesome. The service matches the food. Very accommodating. Very friendly staff. Move to the top of our pizza list.

Wow!

Came to Austin for a wedding. Met a friend and we went to eat something. Not knowing anything about the area, we stopped in a strip center and went into Via313 pizza. The wait staff was so friendly and explained the different types of pizza-Detroit style. Loved the food and the service.

Good Pizza

By Sue F |

We thought the pizza was good, solid. Wasn't wow'd. The prices seemed a bit steep as well. The atmosphere was okay but again, nothing we would run back to.

A must go for Detroit style pizza!

By Javier O |

Just had a chance to go due to a work sponsored lunch and I was more than pleased with what I found. Pizzas looked and tasted pretty good. I would suggest the Detroit style one, deep dish squared shaped ones. I would consider it to be on the expensive side compared to places I have reviewed like Pizza Garden local to the area. Not that far in fact, just across the intersection. Dessert was good as well. It looked like it took a long time to get the food out, but we were a big party, 8-10 people, so it wasn't that bad. The facilities looks nice and clean. Have a nice varieties of pizza toppings to choose from. For a different taste, I recommend the Cadillac. My ratings: Flavor: 8 Price: 6 (A bit on the expensive side) Environment: 8 The service was amazing even on a busy lunch time.

Great Food, Even Better Service

By Jeanie |

I think Via 313 is underrated in Austin. Their pizza isn’t traditional so be prepared for something different but it is DELICIOUS. Service is wonderful. I mentioned it was my first time there and the manager brought over complimentary cheesy bread right away. The wait can be long but I always enjoy myself when I’m there.

Delicious deep dish pizza

By Jaime D |

I've eaten at the original pizza place in Detroit and I have to say... the one in Austin is better! I love getting a small 4-square deep dish pizza and sharing with a friend. They let you do half of the pizza in one style and have in another, so it works out perfectly to have 1 slice of two kinds of pizza. The pizza is dense, so my husband and I are usually pretty full by the time I eat 1.5 or 2 slices. I've tried the Detroiter, the Cadillac, and many of the specials, but my favorite two are the Omnivore and the Hawaiian.

Not my kind of pizza. Nice place. Popular.

By RogerReady3 |

There has been so much talk about Via313 pizza that I wanted to try it out myself. It is located in a tediously high traffic area at the corner of Wm. Cannon and Rt. 290/71 at the Y in Oak Hill. The recent restructuring of turning lanes have improved things dramatically but it is still a tedious place to get to. The restaurant has a full bar and seating at the bar as well as large tables, several of which are large enough to be shared. The place tries to evoke the good old days of Detroit. You can not just walk in and grab a slice. They make everything to order which can take a while. They sell two kinds of pizza, their specialty which is thick, Detroit style and the thin style. I must say, I do not like big, thick slabs of food of any kind, much less pizza dough. That being said, the thick stuff did look pretty good. We ordered a thin style with bacon and jalapenos. My wife liked it but I was not impressed. The crust was thin but sort of droopy with lots of cheese. The cheese was good but it dominated the pizza so that it overwhelmed the bacon, the sauce and almost the jalapenos. I like a crisper approach. They have lots of local beer options on draft and in bottles/cans. Service was good but it does take a while to get your food. Prices are in line with the competition.

Great pizza and service!

By Colin R |

We got the Ambassador Bridge and some meatballs for our toddler. The waiter was friendly and helpful, especially with a young child at the table. It's my second time getting the Ambassador Bridge, and it's been delicious both times.

Great pizza

First visit, will be back. The pizza was Awesome! Both thin & thick crust. Picked it up, but will try it there soon.

Detroit Style Deep Dish Pizza

By franij210 |

We had their za catered to our office for lunch. It was delicious, hot, cheesy, flavorful and unique! The Cadillac: Gorgonzola, prosciutto, fig preserves & balsamic glaze. Simply, delic!

Amazing Customer Service!!!

By JCG8802 |

We went in because we were craving pizza and we already know how delicious Via 313 is. I'm even more in love with this place now after they gave us a brand new pizza because they said they weren't happy with the cut on the first one they brought us. We still got to eat the first one and then they gave us a perfectly cut one to go!!! Now I have something to look forward when I get home after SXSW! You guys rock!

Fantastic pizza

By TrixieBelle |

I tried the Detroit meat style pizza and it was unbelievable. The outside crust had a sort of carmelization on the crust. It was like eating a really good savory pastry. The food truck is right outside a sort of bar area that has some seating. I think they were selling beer and wine from the bar. I would drive out of my way to eat there again.

OMG Their pizza is amazing!!!

By MtnMommi |

Their pizza is so, so good! See dish, very fresh ingredients. Salads were ok, nothing special, but the see dish pizza is some of the best I've ever had!!!

Truly Delicious

By JHtoAtXmom |

Disclosure: I am Italian American and from NY, so I am used to having great pizza, but years ago I found out I can't eat gluten. I miss good pizza so much. I have had gf pizza in a lot of places, but it usually disappoints me. That was not the case at Via313 last night. It is not NY pizza, and that's OK. It was delicious, the sauce was delicious, and the service was great. I will definitely go back. I had the four cheese and my husband had the omnivore. We both really enjoyed our food, the service and the music. We're told a 55 minute wait but it was only 20 min. Will definitely return.

Never have an order ready on time

By Candace B |

The pizza and everything else I’ve ever had here is delicious, but we consistently have to wait for very long periods of time for our food. In the past, we have waited over an hour for our. And today, we made an advance pick up order at 3pm to be picked up at 6:30pm....to avoid having to wait. We have now been sitting in the parking lot still waiting for our order.....Kinda crazy. It’s now 6:50p I had to call them and ask if we could get our pizza yet? Later that night......We just received a text that our pizza is ready...it is now 8:27pm.....🙄Ok.....

I can't believe the food in Austin I am talking about is Pizza

By Mommaanna16 |

I am from California. I eat a lot of Pizza. I have even had pizza in Italy. This was - by far - the best I have ever had. All the food in Austin was great, but this place rocked (we are still thinking about it). My Aunt and I shared a Cadillac, but our group ranged from vegetarians to carnivores and everyone was impressed. (*Note*I am not sure if they are all the same but I am reviewing the one on Guadalupe - I could not find it in this system) Please, 313 come to 707, or 510 or even 415...I will be waiting

If your a pizza aficionado, your gonna love Via 313's "Detroit Pizza"

By jagenovesi |

Growing up Italian American in the rust belt, I've had lot's of pizza! Some is more authentic Italian, (like NY Style), others are USA adaptions from Italian immigrants whose goal was to leverage local ingredients and satisfy local populations taste, (Chicago and Detroit Style). That said, Via 313, a clever name using Detroit's area code, and this is a GREAT pizza. It took me back to some of the best pizza I've had made by local Italian ladies whose style was to produce deep dish style. In addition, there is a nice local beer collection that pairs great with their product. Don't just focus on the pizza, try an appetizer as the artichokes and meatballs were very nice openers. In summary, I ate way to much and think you will too. Good Job 313, I shall return as you are now marked as one of my favorite Pizza stops...

Excellent Pizza - As long as you are prepared to leave the couch!

By ATX_Golfer_n_Foodie |

Was surprised when we decided to try Via 313 that you couldn't place an order over the phone for either pick up or delivery - but had to actually come in to place an order for take out. We ended going over there for lunch and ordered a small "The Detroiter" as well as a small "The Carnivore" and it took about 15 to 20 minutes for our order to arrive at our table. Both were excellent but I'd have to say we liked "The Detroiter" best and between us we left with only one piece for leftovers. Two days later I gave the leftover piece "the test" and was pleasantly surprised that it was very good cold (not reheated) - so next time perhaps we'll just order a large Detroiter!

Best Pizza in Austin, Hands Down.

By Heather V |

We visit Via frequently, and its not just because it's in our neighborhood. It's due to the consistently good Detroit style pizza, delectable flavor combinations, and laid back, great staff. A few pro tips for visiting the Oak Hill location, which can have SUPER long waits: - Use the NoWait app and get in line before you even walk out the door of your house. It will give you an estimate of the time until you sit down, so you can do much of your waiting at home! - Monday nights and Tuesday nights usually have much lighter crowds - go at 8pm, and you can usually walk right in! - Sign up for the loyalty program and get more bang for your buck. My two favorite pizzas? The Detroiter and the Cadillac.

Yes, yes, yes, yes...

By Tanya J |

Yes. This place is so gooooood. The dough is so delicious, generously topped, great service, good drinks. This place is great for dates, or dinner out with friends; we take our kids here, but opt for earlier in the day since the wait can get pretty long later in the day. The wait is bearable since they allow you to take your drinks outside and there's some pretty good people-watching. Three thumbs up!

Detroit style pizza and killer service

By 112bouree |

I took my brother, who doesn't live in Austin, here last week. The staff knew it was our first time and gave us the royal treatment. We ordered a delicious Detroit-style pizza and the flavors were perfect. We shared a kale salad to start, and it was well balanced as well. But then the waitress brought us ANOTHER pizza. "We know you didn't order this, but since it's your first time, the chefs really wanted you to experience our bar-style pizza." What she brought was a thin-crust masterpiece with cheese from edge to edge, Canadian bacon, and maple syrup lightly drizzled over the whole thing. "Syrup on pizza?" I thought. "Yes," I answered after the first perfect bite. Both pizzas were great, as was the horchata cocktail we shared.

Wonderful little place for excellent pizza

By 1234texas |

I have a strong feeling that I will be raising the rating on this restaurant after a couple more visits. We really liked (there is table service) it but I struggle to give it "4" based on just one meal. It is VERY casual and laid back in a strip mall. The ambiance is nice, but a bit on the "trying too hard to look industrial" type of decor. The one big open dining room with picnic tables in the middle is also a strike against it. However, the food is really good and filling. The small pizza really is enough for two people, but we noticed that most of the "regulars" were ordering the large pizza and taking home the remains! This is a very good sign! By the way, the pizza is "Detroit Style" and means it is square--they do have a thing crust round option, but they are know for the square one. A friend told us that this place was special for the food and it is--one of the best pizzas we have EVER had! THe thick crust has lots of yeast to "blow it up" and make it almost like toast. The toppings are great. There are a number of other options we want to test to see if they all meet the same standard. if so, we will have found a new favorite pizza place in town. We were very surprised to hear that they have been in business for 4 years, and we had never heard of them--not much advertising to alert you to them. Minor details: parking is a bit tight in the srip mall lot. There was a good lunch crowd and they do take up spaces. We like the table service--very helpful for "newbies." Allow 25 minutes for cooking of your pizza. They have some salad options as a starter and some limited appetizers. There are a lot of craft beer options for dinner (we didn't see any drinkers at lunch) and they have a few decent wine options.

Great Pizza!!

By Likeness |

Grand daughter recommended on our visit. We like Sicilian and this comes pretty close. Loved the place! Everyone was so friendly and the service was excellent. I had the Cadillac, others got the Carnivore and the Rocket. They wound up liking mine the best and it was outstanding! Love the deep dish crust. Best pizza we have had in a long time.

THE BEST PIZZA!

By Donald H |

Our daughter took us to have pizza at Via 313 and I went along just to be nice. WOW! This is the best deep dish pizza anywhere!!! They also have the best Gluten free pizza!! I also would like to thank Jeremy who is one of the best servers !! He could write a book about customer service!

It's Detroit Style, and it's awesome

By Travis H |

Pizza you eat with a fork, unless you want to get messy. It's thick and full of deep flavor. It's a beautiful Detroit Style pizza. Tons of combinations and order speed has picked up considerably from their open. They also have beers on tap, and a fun interior vibe.

Ok

By RWG2020 |

I guess being of Italian heritage from NY I have a different yard stick than other reviewers. I was In the neighborhood so I stopped in and ordered the thin crust ‘bar’ style pizza. The crust was about the thickness of a piece of cardboard and about as tasty. The sauce and toppings were ok. The ice tea was weak and not recommended.

Well managed! Great for families.

By Travel is life! |

This was our first visit to Via 313 Pizza. We were a little worried the kids would be bored since they do not have a play structure (many Austin restaurants do) but as soon as we sat the server brought over pizza dough for the kids to play with. Such a small gesture but a huge win to keep the little ones entertained. We tried the cheese bread, it was good but we would not get again as the pizza was huge! When we were done with our meal the manager dropped off Cinnamon Sticks. He heard it was our first visit and wanted to drop off a treat for us stopping in. The manager visiting the table to check on things is always welcome, the food offering was an over the top gesture. Our server was great, just the right amount of attention. Food and drinks were really good. We will definitely add this to the favorites list.

Yum Yum Yum Cadillac

By Melody B |

All I have to say is if you are a foodie and like pizza that isn't typical chain pizza, GO HERE!! So yummy. I celebrated my 40th in Austin with a group of girlfriends...there were 9 of us total. We went to NB and spent the day on the river and this was just the ticket afterwards. Casual atmosphere and amazing pizza. The cadillac is amazing...it is a beautiful blend of flavors. We had a few other flavors that were yummy as well. You can't go wrong. It is thicker crust but not greasy and not super heavy! We live in the Dallas area and I can't wait to take my husband down to try it!

Delicious

By yasminr73 |

A Wide variety and choices - the sauce is so tasty - good for special occasions. The deep dish is filling.

Second Time's The Charm

By Kyllito |

Pizza was great the second time I tried Via 313. The Omnivore was crusty, cheesy, dense, and delicious. I enjoyed the stuffed artichoke hearts and house made sangria. I am still not a fan of the pineapple rings on certain pizzas (that's just me...it's the reason I wasn't a fan the first time here). Looking forward to my next visit.

Square in size

By juvlemm |

The pizza is fresh, cheesy and tasty. Takeout is permitted. Service is fast. Rates are also reasonable.

Via 313

By 1234texas |

As much as we like this pizza parlor, I have had to lower the rating because of the CV 19 issue. Eating outside on the front porch overlooking the parking lot and a busy highway is not my favourite dining venue by any reasonable measuring stick. The pizza we had was delivered far too cool, but it was still tasty--just the wrong temperature. The artichoke appetizer is excellent--a good way to start the meal. The staff is taking the virus seriously and is very careful to clean the tables after every use--there are only 10 tables available at the present time. All guests enter wearing masks as well as the masked staff. I am certain the next time we eat here (it will be when we can eat inside), the rating will go up, but I have to call the rating for what the restaurant currently is--average. However, an average rating really means that we would still eat here.

Loved it.

By Tracy S |

I have been to via 313 several times now and the pizza is great. I'm not a huge fan of the deep dish style pizza but this made me a fan. It is certainly worth checking out. You may have to wait an hour plus if you get there past about 7 o'clock.

The "D" is here in Austin!

By Dangie123 |

Since moving to Texas last fall I've been extremely disappointed with the pizzas here. Functionally correct they were missing something. It didn't matter NY Style, Chicago Style or other... Blandness and too "artsy" seemed to be the norm. Today I visited Via 313 Pizza and that opinion changed!!! While not from Detroit originally, I lived there for 6 years, met my wife there and now consider it home. This pizza is as good as almost any in Detroit. Detroit style pizza originated at Buddy's and a few other locations close to old auto plants and is made from Sicilian style dough in a deep dish. I feel like I could look outside after eating this and see the GM Tech center off Vandyke! If you're a Detroiter, northern transplant or just love a good Pizza... Visit and enjoy. Faygo is available but no Michigan beers (tisk, tisk) which is the only thing lacking.

Dillon’s Birthday Bash

By Jeffrey S |

Pizza was taking a little longer to get to us so Paul, the general manager, provided us two meatball appetizers free of charge for our patience. What makes it more special, we didn’t even complain. It was just attentive customer service. Give Paula a raise. It is what makes your restaurant special.

We LOVE this place!!!

By JDrisk |

My hubby and I will drive 1.5 hours to eat here. The food is always great! Hot, fresh and flavorful. He likes the beer, Thirsty Goat to be exact. Our server, Rob, was attentive, friendly and so positive! Ask for him!! Can’t wait for next time!

Detriot Style Pizza! Didn't know there was such a thing. De-Lish!

By DallasLaurie51 |

This was my first time to Via 313. We were told it was THE best pizza in the world.....TRUE!!!! We had about a 45 min wait but no problem. They have a FULL bar and we ordered appys while we waited. The order of meatballs were fantastic. Best red sauce ever. We also shared roasted broc and cauliflower. (there were 3 of us) We ordered 2 large pizzas (thick crust) because we wanted leftovers...and we had them! We shared the arugula salad with goat cheese. The best word to describe it.....FRESH! We had one "Detroiter". Superb. 2 types of pepperoni...one under the cheese and one over the cheese. We also had the "herbivore". My fave! The sauce is to die for, the veggies crisp and the crust thick but light. Not at all like Chicago style. Two thumbs up!!!!!! Pizza was great (cold) for lunch the next day!

Love this pizza & the atmosphere at Craft Pride on Rainey Street

By fbeA |

YUM-MY pizza! This is my favorite pizza! Thicker crust than I usually like but this just has great flavor. I've been to 2 locations (both food trucks) but my fav is the one at Craft Pride on Rainey street. A bit of a wait especially at busy times but the patio is great & there is usually music & of course you can get a drink. Such a great time when the weather is cooperating.

The pizza is worth a visit

By GStroud |

Had a large pizza, it was delicious. The service lacks. There were tables open while we waited. Lots of wait staff standing, do not see that often. Was a disappointing visit, have been there before. Prices for the pizza good. Had a beer, it was $8.50 - I ordered without seeing a menu, my fault. BTW, the beer was not a special high alcohol beer, it was a plain draft.

Family Lunch

By John M |

On our recent trip to Austin we had lunch at Via 313. If you like Detroit style pizza this place is a home run! I grew up in the Detroit area and Via 313 prepared their pizza just like the pizza I grew up on! Whenever I go back to Austin, I'll have a meal here!

Next time, takeout

By JJTOH |

We had dinner here recently because I like Detroit style pizza and it was located near our hotel. There were no tables available, so we sat at the low bar. Our bartender/server was outstanding: friendly and helpful, on top of her job. Our salads were good. I don’t like much dressing on salad but what they use here is skimpy even for me. Our pizza was just what we expected although a bit greasy. Being from out of town, we did not realize that the restaurant was so family friendly. The place was overrun - literally - with children. The people closest to us had several small children including one who screamed at the top of his lungs throughout our whole meal while his parents looked on. We would get food here again but would pick it up rather than dine in.

Best Detroit style

By Komal B |

Great service, v warm welcome. Loved pizza different style. We tried cheese sticks, stooges Detroit style and classic pepperoni . Too much food couldn't finish it and didn't had any space for dessert which was bummer. Loved their sauce.

Great Pizza and Service!

By AusTourist |

We are thin pizza fans but wanted to try this place because of the great reviews. We went last night, Saturday, and had a 15 minute wait. It is a small place and was crowded but we found room at the bar. We sat by the To Go area which got a lot of business. They certainly put out the pizzas. When we were seated, our waitress immediately made us feel welcomed. One of the best waitresses in Austin, no doubt. She helped us navigate the menu. We wanted to try the deep dish but they also had thin. We ordered the cheese sticks and a basil, onion and mushroom thin round pizza. Both were excellent. They also have a good beer selection on tap. Highly recommend for both service and food.

Pizza with Pizzazz!

By TexasPisces |

There are many new "gourmet pizza" eateries that have come to town, many of which are great, and which i have had the pleasure of trying. This New Yorker is pretty picky about pizza. But Via 313's utterly delicious "Detroit" brand pizza bakes the cheese (baked but so good, it tastes like fried) right into the crust of this mouth-watering pizza. I've tasted alot of pizza in Texas and this one is far and above the rest. One wonderful thing is you can have your choice of deep-dish or thin-crust. Try the 4-cheese or the "Stooges" a veggie pizza that has just the right amount and kind of veggies, unlike other places that overload the pizza with slippery artichokes and mushrooms that land in your lap. the staff is very friendly, the service is great and the wait is no more than 15 minutes or so. They also offer fresh salads, house or Caesar, which you can even split between two people. The place is full of light, has regular tables and booths and is not noisy. i think i'll head over there right now!! Yum!

Not your average pizza place

By t4689 |

An adult pizza place. Good food, good drinks. Nice salads if you upgrade the greens. They can make a really credible gluten-free pizza!

Great Pizza! Very cheesy.

By Seth F |

I think this pizza is some of the best pizza around. It is very cheesy and we love the way they make the crust so crispy. I'd recommend any of the pepperoni options, especially the one with two layers of pepperoni. Others have said it is greasy and cheesy, but isn't that what pizza is supposed to be? We love this restaurant and will definitely be coming back in the future. They never disappoint!

Good pizza

By vetfun98 |

We always have to have this pizza once when we visit Auston every year. We love the different options of thin crust yay and Detroit style which is thick. Pizza is always full of flavor, I don’t think you will be disappointed.

After Church Lunch

By Warren John P |

Have now been here three times on Sunday after church. Have very good salads, great pizzas and desert pizza rolls that are awesome. Can be a little crowded for lunch on Sunday...but the service was great all three times.

Did not disappoint!

By treasurecoastFL |

Had always heard it was great, finally tried it! Did not disappoint! Finally!!!! Pan pizza the way it was intended! Piping hot, cheesy, delicious! The bottom getting perfectly done. Why did I wait so long to go?

Great meal, great service and definitely a place to return to!

By Tom T |

We had lunch here after a friend recommended it. Fun atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff and wonderful food. The flavor of the pizza is so good and the crust is great!

Wonderful Pizza

By Delissa K |

This place is my favorite pizza in Austin. We love both the thin crust and the deep dish. The crispy edges of the deep dish is so yummy. They have great cocktails and beers. If you go in the evening there is usually a wait but it is worth the wait.

Drove 50 miles

By duffyg48 |

Don’t do it all the time, but have driven from Horseshoe Bay several times to get pizza - it is that good. Highly recommend.

Absolute best pizza we've ever had!

By georgia d |

Heard that this is the best pizza in Austin. Gave it a try. OMG. Who would have known that pizza could be so different from the norm. It's amazing. We got the regular deep dish pepperoni. I think it's the one they are known best for. Not sure what they do to get that crust but we've never had a crust like it, it's so airy and buttery. It's not heavy and gooey like the typical deep dish is. Then they put on the cheese and pepperoni. After that, then they drizzle the sauce on the top. Delicious. We won't be eating any other pizza. It's just amazing!

Simply GLORIOUS!!!!

By Kirki G |

"Top Notch" does not begin to describe how great this place is. The pizza is an emotional experience, to say the very least. But for as great as the food is the staff is the best. This group of young people really have it together. Every single contact has been genuine and refreshing. Whoever is doing the hiring is a true leader and great mind in the business. Thank you for all you do and for making every pizza the best I've ever had!!

Good PIE.. drops microphone

By Jensoid |

Holy Pepperoni Batman.. Living in the hood we now have a third contender for pizza. We enjoy both Mangieri's and Austin Pizza Garden which serve very different style of pie. And now we got Via 313 and we are stoked. Popped in last night around 5.15pm and it was already filling up. Having no idea what to expect we sat up at the bar seating area and was introduced to Sam, our waiter. He was from Montreal, I thought he was german, but hell what do I know. Great banter and service. We started with the stuffed articokes. Excellent. For the pizza we opted to try the Detroit Style, which is deep dish and will be back to try the thin shortly. The omnivore seemed about right for our taste buds. We finished the evening with a ridiculous concoction called pretzels and ice cream I think. That was insane and very addictive. The atmosphere was very industrial. They have a full bar, which is going to be very dangerous for me. We ate, stayed a while, and had an opportunity to visit with one of the owners. Nice chap. Can definitely see this being a regular stop for us.

Great pizza

By FlyingStew75 |

This food truck offers Detroit style pizza and it is delicious. Sauce is placed on top of the cheese making it a bit different and oh so good!

Dont miss it

By Marie T |

We had to wait 30 minutes for a table at 6pm. But well worth the wait. Had the carnivore, oh my goodness, it was wonderful. The manager brought us a free thin crust that was unreal, because it was our first time there. The service was excellent. I had a spinach salad with goat cheese, it was very good too. All in all, very glad we went. A must return

Detroit Style Pizza

By MIchael G |

Enjoyed the sausage pizza, not exactly Chicago style but one of the better pizzas in the area, blows Pieous Pizza away completely. If your torn where to go between the two don't waste your time driving the extra distance go to Via 313

Great choice for takeout

By Nancy SC |

We needed takeout, and my daughter suggested the Detroit style pizza at Via 313. We ordered the Pepperoni and the Omnivore, along with the beet salad and the arugula salad. The food arrived and looked fabulous. I’m totally hooked on Detroit style now! The crispy edges - the buttery crust. The amazing toppings! The pepperoni was fabulous ! One layer below the cheese and one above. Heaven! This is now on my list of go-to places in Austin! I can’t wait to try eating in!

The BEST crust

By Hoggee |

This was our second time here and my daughters first. The most friendliest people around. The crust is the BEST. Its crunchy and tender at the same time. If you like cheese, this is the one. As you know, there are different types of pizzas and this one is deep dish with lots of cheese and a crunchy crust. This pizza is so good and everyone in my family loves it, we drive over 100 miles (one way) to come here.....its that good. Just went yesterday and already planning another trip. Until next time..........

Best pizza without a doubt!!

By CandyLAG |

Detroit style pizza--not thin, but not a thick as Chicago deep dish. Perfect crust. Absolutely the best pizza in Austin!!! Very reasonably priced items. Usually a long wait during prime dining times. Skip the antipasto salad--disappointment.

Best pizza in Austin!

This is my go-to pizza place in southwest Austin. Detroit/Sicilian pizza. Always delicious. Everyone I've taken there has loved it.

Absolutely delicious pizza! Love the option of trying two different types on your order. The Ambassador Bridge with sausage, pepperoni, garlic and fresh ricotta was amazing. Nice margaritas, good service and reasonably priced.

Pizza is good just overpriced

By Manu |

We were looking to eat some kind of different pizza and found this one in Trip Advisor. Flavor, style and quality were ok, nothing out the ordinary, little bit overpriced.

Great pizza

By Daddioiii |

I had never tried "Detroit" style pizza before this, it is amazing! Got the eight slice and ate it for lunch and dinner. The place was a little crowded and service was still impeccable. The only drawback to this place is parking stinks. I will eat here every time I'm in Austin.

Best Gluten Free Pizza Ever

By mountainhiking11 |

I used to live in Austin, TX and Via 313 is one of the things I miss most. Their gluten free pizza is the best I have ever had!! So good that it’s worth a visit to Austin just to taste it again…I’m starting to plan my trip!

Mama Mia their sauce is good!!!

By Pamela R |

I am on my 4th visit to Via 313 and have not had a single thing I didn't absolutely love!! The sauce is my favorite, I could drink it with a straw!! The owner says it is just hand crushed tomatoes, but I'm sure it has crack in it because I am addicted! People have mentioned wait time for their pizzas, it does take a little longer but that is because each one is handmade when you order and they take a bit to prepare. It is WORTH the wait!

Quick service

By Pintya |

The pizza is localised with top up cheese available. The service is fast and rates are reasonable. Deserts are also nice.

Better than Sicilian

By caron c |

Wow--what a surprise. This was one of the best pizzas we have had in a long time. I am very hesitant eating pizza anywhere than NY but this was very very good. The waiter suggested a Detroit style pizza so we ordered the Omnivore. It had sausage bell pepper, pepperoni and mushroom. There were 3 of us and we ordered a large. It was very good the crust was EXCELLENT! We told the waiter this was our fist visit and the manager came out and gave us complimentary breadsticks--- YUM!! When visiting our daughter, we will get out pizza fix here. A word of note. It was a Tuesday night at 6. By the time we left there was a pretty long wait.

Delish!

By ERG0716 |

Wow! What a great treat we just had. Randomly drove into a nondescript shopping strip and found Via 313. It was busy on a Sunday afternoon with families devouring amazing looking pizza. Three of us split a Caesar salad and the broccoli, cauliflower appetizer while waiting for our pizza. Great healthy appetizers. We split 2 small pizzas among us and had some left to take home. The Detroit pizza was new to me, but definitely delicious. The square deep dish four cheese pizza was stellar. They also served lots of local brews, and what looked like delicious desserts. hope you stumble across this place too!

Love love love this pizza

By Amy B |

Friends, family, casual date, this place wins! Low key atmosphere, small bar, and DELICIOUS pizza. My preference is the bar style which is thin crust, and I'll just say their crust is the best ever. BUT, the Detroit style, deep dish which is what they are known for is also really really good. Try the artichoke appetizer or the spinach salad if you're extra hungry. They also do take out - you can order online, specify a pick up time, and boom, pizza at home!

Excellent

By karen h |

By far the best pizza I’ve ever eaten! They have a great choice of pizza and drinks and the staff are relaxed and attentive. Love the interior and they have a great outside seating area. Definitely will be returning.

Excellent Detroit style pies!

By Howardmac |

Don’t miss out on this one. Superb Detroit and thin crust pizza. And the meatballs! Great beer selection and worth the wait if there is one.

Great Place and Great Customer Service!

By Ms. Piano |

I love a restaurant where servers, greeters and management are polite, friendly and apologetic when something goes slightly wrong. Though we have been here several times, tonight was noteworthy. I placed a take out order, and when I arrived there was some confusion from the server as to why my order was slightly delayed (by, like, 2 min... no biggie). Right away, the manager came over to tell me that there was a mistake, and that my GF pizza was made non-GF, but that it would only be a 5 minute wait, and that the GF pizza was well under way. I ended up with the extra pie at no charge, and the manager also gave me a card for a free alcoholic beverage on my next visit. NICE! My gluten filled hubby was very happy to have an extra pie all to himself. That's good customer service!

CRUST

By Janice V |

I met friends there and was pleasantly surprised. I'm not a fan of the thick, heavy detroit style crust, but was happy that they had alternatives. They offer GF crust and a nice thin crust. I think they call it "bar style" crust and it was very good. The 3 of us got all very different styles and flavors and were able to sample.

Must try pizza

By dineshkuruganti |

I found out about this place from pinterest as one of the must visit places in Austin and it lived upto the expectations.

Not quite sure what Detroit pizza is supposed to be!?

By Alice W |

I was looking for gluten free pizza (out of towner looking for good food)...the square pizza was $18 (on the pricy side). Can cut into 4 square pizza....The toppings were yummy, however the gluten-free crust wasn't too good. I had much, much better ones else where....will not go back for gluten free pizza. Very nice staff.

Cool Neighborhood Restaurant

By CarrieS11111 |

Via 313 is a great find, whether you live in Oak Hill or another part of Austin. With families dining and people enjoying themselves at the bar, the atmosphere is welcoming for everyone. The house salad was good, but the roasted broccoli and cauliflower was amazing! The thin crust on the Bar Style Pizza was excellent.

So so Pizza, nice salads and pretty pricy

By Gary T |

We tried this place for the first time tonight. We ordered three thin crust pizza's and two salads take out for a total bill of ~$65. We ordered thin crust pizza- a "Temptation" that was anything but that, a "Stooges" and a "Pepperoni Bar". They were decent, but to salty and quite small. Also the online description of the "Temptation" leaves you believing you are getting a meaty pizza but it isn't. The salads, a "Large Caesar" and a "Antipasto" were quite good. For the price this was an average to disappointing experience. We're unlikely to try them again.

One of the best in Austin

By Kelley |

Excellent, enormous salads that two can share and the BEST thick crust pizza in Austin! Full bar too.

Hmmm...Was That Pizza?

By AntK13 |

I've been hearing about Via 313 for some time now so was looking forward to trying it for the first time. First let me say the service was really good, refreshingly so. Wait staff was friendly, held the doors open for us, and even gave us a free appetizer when they heard it was our first time there. We ordered the thick 313 style, half one topping, half another. Yes there's a bit of a wait to cook it but that was ok with us. The pizza that came out was pretty good - but IMHO, it wasn't pizza! It's cheesy bread with sauce spread on top. The crust is more bread-y than dough-y and the sauce tastes good, a little sweet. I will say the toppings were very, very sparse - perhaps only 5 lonely olive slices per square, so I found that odd. And I liked that I could scrape off some of the excess sauce if I wanted. But again - this was not pizza. It was bread with cheese and some toppings melted on top; good bread, but bread. And, sorry, it wasn't $22-worthy bread. I'm glad I tried it, and kudos for great service, but a bit pricey for my taste.

Great pizza, as good as in Detroit

By Dave G |

This is excellent pizza. Make sure you order the "Detroit-style" square pizza not the small round "bar pizza." And if you ignore this advice, don't submit a 3-star review on TripAdvisor! (Yes, someone below did exactly that.) My wife and I always order the Detroiter - cheese and pepperoni, but they make lots of fancier alternatives. If you eat here, it may save you a trip to Detroit, for those who need to renew their enthusiasm for Buddy's Pizza every five years or so. It always seems crowded at dinnertime, for good reason. So I generally try to go at lunchtime or late afternoon. Any time is a good time for Via313 pizza.

Awesome pizza, drinks and place

By GoodJeanne |

Thank you, Via313 for teaching me how good Detroit-style pizza is! Our favorite time is mid- to late-afternoon to avoid the crowds, or take out during busy hours. They have two styles: thin crust and Detroit-style thick crust, so you can find something for everyone in your group. The baked-artichoke appetizer is delicious and our little one eats that up before the pizza even arrives. The salads are big and fresh and perfectly dressed. The specialty cocktails are delightful, and the extensive beer menu is always a perk. The manager (Josh) and our favorite waitress (Sterling) are solid gold. (Hope we got those names right!) If we owned a place, we'd try to poach both of them!

Fluffy, Addictive Clouds of Pizza

By Bailey Gaddis - Intrepid Travel Tribe |

While this Detroit-style Pizza is super filling, it’s so delicious we often push ourselves a rectangle or two past our stomach’s limit. The crust is light and fluffy, while being perfectly crispy on the perimeter. Adding to the goodness of the base is the creative toppings like prosciutto and fig preserves, which you can find on the popular Cadillac combo.

WOW this place is legit!

By 220michaelc220 |

2 years in Austin and we have never made time to visit Via 313...wish I hadn't waited so long! First the place is pretty cool looking and seeing a local food truck do well as a brick and mortar is always great! Our server, Morris was pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive. He took the time to ask if it was our first time and described their Detroit pizza well. After ordering the manager Alysa shows up with an appetizer of meatballs and tells us she brought them to us since Morris told her it was our first time and she wanted us to try them. The food....The meatballs were very good in a nice sauce with fresh baked bread slices...the pizza (omnivore) was out of this world. Crunchy, gooey, fresh veggies, highest quality pepperoni and sausage topped with zesty marinara. Nice casual atmosphere, friendly attentive service that goes above and beyond and outstanding food...we will be back often!!!

Great pizza even for those with food allergies/intolerances

By Apanda8 |

What does a person deserve after finishing a semester from hell? Pizza and a drink of course! My husband and I stopped here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. I have been wanting to try this place out ever since I have gone dairy and gluten free (due to food intolerances). The place was busy around noon but we were seated right away. I had looked over the menu beforehand so I knew exactly what to get. We started out both with an order of a side salad. I ordered the house with dressing on the side and my husband ordered the caesar side salad. The salad was nothing crazy but still good. Now on to the good stuff, the pizza!! I was raised in the Ohio/Michigan area and know all about the Detroit style pizza. I had called my mom up about this place the next day and she was like so the pizza was square and thick crust? Yup! Anyway, my husband and I ordered the gluten free dairy free small Detroiter pizza. The Detroiter is listed as: Smoked Pepperoni under the cheese, Natural Casing Pepperoni on top. When it came out the pizza was divided into 4 slices. At first, my husband was a little taken aback since he said it looked like an old school lunch pizza. The pizza was really good and it pleased my picky eater of a husband. You could barely tell it was dairy free and it certainly didn't taste gluten free. I would definitely come back because I have more dairy free gluten pizzas to try in my future.

Lunch

By Tbone.RF |

My first visit to Via 313 and I will return. The pizza was very tasty. My waitress, Julie explain the menu and made recommendations. Other members of the staff that I talked with were very friendly.

Not my cup of Pizza

By barretta |

Exclusively Detroit-style pizza, without the polluted water, but with beer and wine. A bit too greasy, slow, and could do very well in the location they occupy if the overall experience was one of good food and value. 3006 & 3007 posted, too. Sad.

Great Pizza

By smile4you |

I had the omnivore and it was awesome. Love the bar at the Guadalupe locations. The Bartenders are very fast, friendly, and great!

Perhaps Austin's Best

By AustinEEE |

My six year old daughter and I had dinner here and it was just all around excellent. Service was wonderful, pizza was amazing and even the kale salad was fantastic. This may well overturn pieous as Austin's best pizza. The atmosphere is nice but causal and comfortable. We'll be back, and probably very soon. Highly recommended.

Dinner visit

By 1234texas |

We have been here numerous times for lunch, but this was our first time at the dinner hour--after 8PM. We were surprised to see how crowded the place is and were lucky to get a table for 2--not at one of the big picnic tables! We always order the small portion at lunch because we are going to other places and do not want to have "take home" pizza in the cooler. Tonight, we could have the big one (and it really is BIG) to share and some to take home for the next day (it tastes great a day latter!). It looked very nice and was just as tasty as at lunch. The service was good and the crowd friendly--more casual than at lunch. The nice thing about the dinner is that you can have a drink with it. They have a number of good beer options. However, the wine list is a little too thin, but it does have a few decent options at reasonable prices. There are no upper end options, but that is probably appropriate for their market. Remember, this is a pizza joint--not fine dining! The pizza really bis good--best in town! There are limited appetizers, but they are not needed with a pizza this good and this filing! There are 2 options for the thickness of the pizza--the deep dish is the best! Parking at night is just as much of a pain as it is at lunch. The parking lot is rather tight for the number of stores in the strip mall. It is also a ratner dark lot with narrow spaces. The dress code is very casual and kids are welcome.

Friday night dinner

By evachapman4 |

This is was our first visit for my husband and me, and we were not disappointed. We knew it was a great place to eat because we had a 30 minute wait and it was well worth the wait. Everyone was very friendly and were sure to explain to us the favorites on the menu. We ordered the Detroit style carnivore. It was delicious. The crust was thick and airy. Did I say it was delicious? The Manager surprised us and brought us desert, which was so good and a sweet surprise. Will definitely be back.

Best pizza ever - at least the best deep dish pizza ever!

By Lstew55 |

The place is in a strip center - and caters to a young/hip crowd - nothing to soften the noise so it was REALLY loud - but let's talk about the pizza....WOW....I had the deep dish with sliced meatballs. Words cannot do this pizza justice. It is so very good. You need this pizza. Everyone needs this pizza. I anticipate ALL the deep dishes are good. I hope to be able to try more and let you know.

Great 'Detroit' style pizza

By 70buick |

Pizza is thick square crust with whatever toppings you want. Served out of a trailer, very clean. Seating is in a fenced in area under trees connected to Craft Pride (beer on tap bar). Nice deck area, very relaxed atmosphere a couple of blocks north of the lake.

Only average.

By Scott J |

This place is highly reviewed and I don't see why. The pizza is only average and not worth the price. Parking is difficult. I must say my friends rave about it.

So very good

By Lyzz D |

Our neighborhood was in need of a good family restaurant and this one is just great. The pizza is unique and delicious and the environment is relaxed. While it's not a kid's pizza joint, there are always families with little ones in tow and the restaurant offers a fun placemat to color with a small jar of crayons. Food takes a while (I know they are working on ticket times, it has definitely improved since they opened a couple of months ago but it can still take a while to get your pizza) so if you have to wait before you are seated (and there is almost always a wait) I suggest you choose your entree and order as soon as you sit. Large booths and a neat community table in middle made from an old bowling lane. Outdoor waiting area with benches. No reservations or call-in orders but you can order in person and carry-out. If the pizza were any less delicious I'd be annoyed by the wait but imho, it's worth it. Welcome to the neighborhood. I hope it sticks around for decades!

Never heard of Detroit Pizza...and now it's my favorite

By audrasena |

This pizza is exceptionally different and delightfully impressive. It is not OVER filling which you expect when you hear deep dish, but they bake the pizza in heavy metal pan and make it crispy. Putting the cheese on the bottom and the sauce on the top is phenomenal. We will be BACK!

Just another pizza place

By Norma B |

Our family loves all types of pizza & eat NY pizza very frequently. It was good, but it is a bit hyped up. Not worth a wait for an evening. We were expecting a better pizza. Will maybe eat there again.

Fun place, great food and service!

By TC R |

We chose this pizza place for lunch while vacationing in Austin due to gluten free options. The staff and manager were very friendly and helpful, providing a complimentary appetizer when they found out it was our first visit. The waitress was knowledgeable about beer selections and offered several samples to try. The pizza exceeded our expectations and was delicious! I would highly recommend this place for visitors and locals.

Best. Pizza. Ever.

By MyZiggyMan |

Let me start by stating that I have never been a fan of deep dish pizza. Too doughy. Too thick. Too saucy. Blech. Imagine my surprise, then, when we ordered a carnivore deep dish on a 'why not' whim, and it blew my mind. Thick, yes, but somehow light & fluffy. The dough had a perfect texture and unbelievable flavor. It was not too saucy, either. I have never been more surprised by a pizza. My husband, who loves deep dish, asked me what I thought and almost fell out of his chair when I said it was the best pizza I've ever eaten. No one was more stunned than me. Move over, thin & crispy. I've met someone new, so I'm breaking up. It's not you. It's me. I love you, Via 313.

Detroit style pizza

By carla4jc |

Today I'm having the Bar style pizza. Really, you can't go wrong with anything featured on this menu. But definitely try the Emerald. Best pizza in SW Austin.

Wow!

By Nyoung486 |

We had a Cadillac pizza tonight and it was awesome! Our son had a cesear salad that he really liked! We took it home. Although it took 45 minutes to be ready for pickup, it was worth the wait and was ready when they told us it would be.

Good pizza

By Doug L |

This place has good pizza and a good atmosphere. Prices are reasonable, staff friendly. Keep in mind, no fault of the establishment, that you may run into people who are extremely rude due to its trendy status. We had bar seating and the couple next to us set a phone up against the bar and started cranking techno dance videos. Staff did nothing. All the other times we've been there it was great but there seems to be a different customer base now. Hopefully they'll move on or at least management should move them that way. The "Detroiter" is fabulous and so is the Caesar Salad.

Detroit style 4 life!

By Geoff D |

Really great food and drinks! Detroit style with any kind of pepperoni is a win. Also, the cheesy bread for an appetizer will not disappoint.

Expensive lukewarm pizza. Bad service.

By MJSpock |

Went for my first time today for lunch. For $15.00 you get a pizza that is about 8x10 inches. This means you are paying twice as much as you would at any other pizza place in Austin. So for double the price I expected something good. My lunch companion and I each ordered a pizza. They were not busy, as there maybe four or five empty tables. Thirty minutes after ordering our food had not arrived. A manager stopped by our table and said she would check on the food. She came back and said they had to 'crisp it up in the oven'. This means they made it, let it get cold, and then tried to reheat it. In most restaurants this is a violation of the food safety rules. It is also a violation of good cooking. Anyway when the pizzas finally showed up they were just room temperature. The sauce was nothing great. You can get better sauce almost anywhere. The toppings were extremely skimpy. I can't begin to understand how Via313 stays in business. Maybe their goal is to serve the most expensive crappy pizza in Austin? Who knows?

Pizzzzzzzza

By akr444 |

If you haven't had Detroit style pizza, go to Via 313. It is so delicious! If you enjoy a good Carb-Coma, like I do, start with the cheese bread. You won't be sorry!

Tasty meal

By FreundlyTravels |

Had the hot honey pizza and a basic pepperoni one. Pizza was good, interesting shape and edges. We are used to Chicago pizza, but this was a solid pizza place out here!

Delicious pizza - must eat!

By biddle04 |

We ordered pizza for takeout, so I did not go inside, but it was delicious. I had both the deep dish and a thin crust, and both were very tasty. The deep dish is very thick and I did eat with knife and fork, but it was not too greasy either. The flavors were great and the pizzas actually looked very nice all lined up on the table with the different flavors. Great for out of town guests to get something a little different!

Nice to have in Oak Hill

By noodlehouser |

They are known for their deep dish thick pizza...which I have never liked until here. Good number local and other craft beers on tap

Amazing pie in Oak Hill

By Zamigaos |

Ok, I was skeptical of another pizza place. I found it hard to believe that any pie would beat the pizza eaten on the streets of Italy...but this was a really good runner up! We had heard it was tough to get in here, so we went at lunch and had a great server in Bree. She was very helpful in making recommendations and suggestions. We were a party of three and wanted to "sample", so we started with a shared spinach salad....which was plenty for the three of us at lunch. Then, we shared a small Carnivore (lots 'o meat) Detroit style. Yes, it's square and oh so cheesy good. The crust is soft in the middle, yet crispy on the outside with lots of great tomato sauce. Wow, this was yummy goodness. And, we also shared a Stooges "bar style"...spinach, artichoke, shallots and cheese on a thin, crispy crust. Plus, Bree suggested the addition of goat cheese and she was spot on! These were great pizzas and I'm anxious to try some of the other great offerings. But, the meal was not over. We had to try "Beer and Pretzels" for dessert. Layers of Salted Stout ice cream (really creamy and with a true beer taste) plus salty pretzels and whipped cream. Wow...that was superb. Anxious to go back and have beer or wine with a pie. And, for sure, more dessert. Glad to have you in South Austin!

Moneymaugel

By Moneymaugel |

Some of best pizza in Austin! Friendly service, wide beer selection, wine not so much. Shared Caesar salad and a small Detroiter pizza enough to fill up 2 adults-though I could have eaten another piece but would have been stuffed instead of pleasantly full.

This Pizza is excellent *** vegan friendly ***

By i_am_brendanc |

I try to fit Via 313 Pizza into my trip anytime I'm in Austin. Luckily, it's so good, nobody ever minds when I mention it. We like the Detroit-style with vegan cheese. Delicious! Something to please everyone / anyone. Careful, you can create your own $40.00 pizza pretty quick.

Hey gluten free eaters....BEST DEEP DISH PIZZA EVER

By Kelli M |

I am so sad I live too far away. This pizza is delicious. The gf deep dish crust is truly wonderful and tasty, and leftovers actually hold up and are still edible and tasty. My husband says the regular crust is fantastic too. The place is casual, open and busy. Their side salad was very fresh and wonderful too. If you are gfree, in Austin and you miss good pizza, you should seek via 313 out. What an awesome place, thank you!

Great Pizza

By BigPick |

It is the very best pizza I have had. Tops many spots in Chicago, NY, or anywhere. Good beer selection. Only issue is the place is kind of small, so be ready to wait!

Excellent Food & Service

By Johnathan L |

This is a great place to dine in alone or with a group. The restaurant has a chill atmosphere and the staff is very friendly.

Yummy Deep Dish Pizza

By Heidi K |

Fast service at the counter/bar. Ordered half meatball and other hat carnivore....delicious. Busy and loud. Great wait staff. Will go back!

Best Pizza in South Austin

By FoodfanUSA |

Good location. Great service and decor but loud and packed with little kiddies so be ready for noise but it's worth it (although I don't know why parents bring kids to adult places?) Started with the Motown Manhattan with Apple Cinnamon whiskey and loved it. Might be the best Manhattan out there. Great selection of local and non local craft beers. Had the antipasto Salad which was very good along with the Detroit style Carnivore pizza which as exceptional. Their red sauce is sweet and spicy and should be bottled and sold as its that good. Can't wait to come back and try their thin crust and other offerings.

Great Pizza, great service!

By swTXSU |

Not much to say, this is my new favorite pizza joint. Finally had the opportunity to try Via313 and definitely was not disappointed. This is a Detroit style pizza restaurant and does the motor city proud. They also offer thin or “bar” style pizza if a Detroit deep dish isn’t your thing. Waitress was great, manager came by our table and brought complimentary “Superman” ice cream since two people in our party had never been there before. Definitely recommend and will be back soon.

Detroit style heaven

By Lynne B |

Stopped in today for the first time & via313 exceeded expectations❣ Got 1/2 The Stooges & 1/2 detroiter. Stooges has artichoke, spinach & Parmesan crisps. The flavors are so good, I will definitely be back. You can mix crusts & pizza types too.

Great Deep Dish Style Pizza

By LonestarSpartan |

We ordered 2 pizzas from the food truck behind Craft Pride. Both were excellent, freshly made and quite hot. We ordered the Cadillac and the Hawaiian and both were delicious. This is not thin crust pizza. It has a thick crust with most of the ingredients under the cheese. Although I lived in Michigan for a few years, I really don't know exactly what Detroit Pizza is, but if this is it, we loved it.

CHICAGO STAY PIZZA

By BASSY |

STOPPED HERE WITH A FRIEND. She called in a take out order. It was ready and amazing. Thick crust but so crusty all around the edge with plenty of toppings. We both inhaled a piece on the way back home.

By way of Detroit, this is our favorite GF pizza!

By Joseph |

Search no further, GF pizza doesn’t get any better than this! Their gluten-free pizza has a thick Sicilian style crust, with perfectly baked cheese, crispy around the edges to bring out the flavor. With few exceptions, nearly all GF pizza crusts that we have tried are somewhere between cardboard and really awful chewy cardboard, so finding Via 313 was a delight. They make their own GF crusts, and it is the best we’ve found so far. What does Via 313 mean? In this context Via means “through” or “by way of”. The number 313 is the telephone code for greater Detroit. Put these together and you have pizza “By way of Detroit” What’s it like inside? Think Motor City. Think cool. Think rock and roll. Via 313 décor uses steel and industrial materials in a creative Detroit factory theme. Don’t be deterred by the tattoos, staff was perfect, friendly (but not too friendly) and all aspects of this experience were much better than expected; It was a great family-friendly stop for us. We would return again and again whenever we are in Austin.

Really Good Pie

By Beenaroundtheworld2x |

I was told to make sure I stop here while in Austin. Very good pizza! We ordered 2, the Detroiter and Carnivore. The cost came to $28. Plenty for us to share and eat. Really liked crust with crisp edges, buttery taste, good sauce, cheese, and meats! Hard to believe it came out of a food truck! Will go again when in Austin. #Hookem

BEST Pizza

By Patti S |

I always thought that Home Slice was the best pizza in Austin. WOW, Via 313 beats any pizza around. The Detroit style is think crust but not heavy at all. Great sauce and toppings. The thin crust tastes like the crunchy cheese around the edges of a grilled cheese. HEAVEN! Don't let the wait scare you, it's worth it!

Pizza that is good

By justsod |

The pizza was wonderful. We ordered one Detroit style. Both styles are great. For kids or adults. Pizza lovers will enjoy this good food. Wish we had room for more!

DETROIT DOES PIZZA

By micyer |

Bring from NJ, I know good pizza when I taste it. This is good pizza. Normally when I take my grandchildren, who all eat gluten free, it's a bad experience waiting to happen, not here we had gluten free, in some cases dairy free, and it was all great. Served by a lovely lady named Bree

Our new favorite pizza joint!!

By Deb M |

Having moved to South Austin recently, we are always trying new places to eat. Via 313 has hit it out of the park! We have had great pizza in several states and their Detroit pizza it up there with the best! Also had Caesar salad and Garden Salad. Everything is very fresh and high quality. They also have bar style thin crust pizza, veggie appetizers and interesting desserts. Detroit's favorites, Faygo Pop and Vernor's Ginger Ale, are both perfect pairings for Detroit pizza! We are fortunate to be near the south location, but it is definitely worth a trip!

Killer Detroit style pizza

By Mr. E |

And thin crust bar style too! I do recommend the Detroit style. Any pizza is great. I think we’ve had almost every one and they’re all amazing. The place gets crowded and the parking lot fills up fast so it pays to call ahead and reserve a spot or order to go.

Oh how we've missed Detroit Pizza!

By BIC57 |

We've lived in a lot of cities around the country, but we fell in love with Detroit pizza modeled after Shields and Buddy's. This pizza joint provided extraordinary flavor with an outstanding crust. Yum!

Great Lunch

By Kevin C |

Took the family and had the Detroit style pizza(s). My 12 year old loved the Detroit Pop and my wife and I loved the local beer list. This is how a local pizza place should be. The service was great and the pizza was quality and tasty.

Best pizza I've ever eaten

By Sara K |

Via 313 specializes in Detroit style pizza;I have never been to Detroit and honestly didn't know they were known for a style of pizza so I can't say if it's authentic but I can say it is the BEST PIZZA I have ever had the pleasure of eating. I generally prefer a thinner crust pizza but Via 313 has the perfect crunch to the thicker crust, square pizza. The salads are also good but let's be honest that's not why you're checking out a pizza joint. Nice local beer selection and good wine list, not a huge variety but what they have is good. I frequent this location and can say the staff is great, I have never experienced any customer service issues. The only negative I can come up with is there's usually a wait but that's to be expected at a place that's this good; just grab a drink at the bar and I guarantee it will be worth the wait.

Detroit's Nice, but don't forget the bar pizza

By Counterweight |

I had lunch here with my two kids recently, we have been trying to visit the top pizza places in Austin and Via 313 was on Austin Monthly's Top 10 list. I'm not a big fan of Chicago deep dish pizza, so I was a little skeptical going in about Detroit-style pizza. We ordered two cheese pizzas; one Detroit-style, and one bar style (more traditional, thinner crust). They both took about 20 minutes to come out, and they were both very good. I preferred the bar style pizza, the cheeses they use are really good and the crust is nice. I liked the Detroit-style a lot as well, but to me it seemed like the ingredients weren't as balanced due to the larger, fluffy, thicker pizza dough. They have a nice selection of beers (including many Texas brews on tap), as well as a full bar and some Detroit sodas. We left some room for dessert and decided to try the "Superman" ice cream. It was very colorful and tasted OK, must be a Detroit thing but it was a fun way to end the meal. Our server was great, the staff was very friendly. I thought the prices were very reasonable given the quality and quantity of the food. Definitely one of the 10 best pizzas I've had in Austin, but probably more in the 5-10 range for my taste.

This is Detroit Pizza IN NAME ONLY!

I am from Detroit and the originator of Detroit Pizza is Buddy’s. As the story goes, Shield’s stole the receipt. Both are the very best and the Via 313 does not even come close. When I moved to Texas, I was excited to find Via 313 and gave it a try. VERY DISAPPOINTED! The crust was heavy, the sauce was spicy and overall lacking an Italian tomato flavor. Even worse, it was $27 for a large cheese, pep, mushroom and olives. Will not buy again.

Good choice for vegan pizza

Visiting my brother and his wife in Austin, we decided to get pizza. They knew of this nearby place. Looking at the menu we realized they had vegan options - bonus. We ordered a custom Detroit Style Pizza with dairy free cheese (Brand: Follow Your Heart). We also got a Bar Style Pizza with dairy free cheese. Neither of these pies were disappointing, but the Detroit Style one was absolutely delicious.

Great Pizza

Excellent Detroit style pizza. I didn't know there was such a thing until I tried theirs about a year ago. It's not quite as deep dish as Chicago style, but it is definitely deep dish. The dine-in experience is community seating whichI am not a big fan of, so we order online. If you order before 5:30, the wait time is around 30-40 minutes. Any time after that the wait time goes up.

Love the Detroit style pizza

We're from Chicago and love the original deep dish pizza from Pizzeria Uno and Pizzeria Due, and from Lou Malnatti's. Never heard of Detroit style pizza before, but now we love it too, at least the way the make it at Via 313. The crispy cheese at the edges of the crust are especially good.

Oh so good

Ate here after visiting the Austin rodeo. Ordered a salad, a deep dish pizza and a thin pizza. The pizza is awesome. The service matches the food. Very accommodating. Very friendly staff. Move to the top of our pizza list.

One of the top pizza joints!!

We ate at Via 313 after reading an article about the restaurant. We were not disappointed and we quickly made a return trip for another meal. I am a thin crust pizza fan but the deeper dish “Detroiter” was one of the best pizza’s I have had. We arrived by 6 PM and there was already a long wait. The service was really good. The prices are on average with what I expect in the area and the atmosphere is very Austin like (even for a Detroit themed establishment). You should give it a try

Grace My Lips Again

Pizza from a food truck????????????????? Not just yes but heck yes when it is pizza this sensational. Since pizza is one of my favorite food groups I have eaten it all over the US. That includes Chicago and the famous one (Pizzeria Uno) there. Yes I loved it but this food truck was better. It is behind a craft beer place on Rainey Street here in Austin called Craft Pride. Friends told me about it so I went there to try it. I swear it is the best Pizza I have ever let grace my lips, tastebuds and pallet, oh how I loved the response. Just writing this makes me want more so badly that is where I head tomorrow night again for dinner. I am already salivating my tastebuds are so excited. PS today I saw the signage for a storefront that is on the UT west campus (Guadaloupe St.) that is under construction.

Best Pizza hands down

My sister recommended us visit Via 313 pizza while in town for my birthday. We ordered the Cadillac pizza, it is the best pizza I’ve ever had. I was skeptical at first from reading its ingredients. It was So surprisingly awesome. I highly recommend ordering it.

Superb pizza. Maybe not your mama's New York style, but still excellent

We had a couple of different ones, and got a free one as well. They threw in the free one because it had been overcooked, but it was our favorite. The outer crust had better crunch and contrast with the soft interior, and all the cheese around the edges crisped up in a most appealing way. The topping also seemed to profit from a little more oven time. The normal pizzas were also very fine and flavorful.
