Memorable wood-fired pizza. Best i have tasted on the West Coast. Authentic with flour imported from Italy! We enjoy the place so much that it is always our first stop when we travel to Seattle. Good salads and wine list, well. Try the Amarone grappa at the end of your meal.

We really enjoyed our meal. The Burrata appetizer, Caesar salad, and pizza were all very good. I wish I had more room to order more to try. The service was great.

One of my favorite pizza places in Seattle!

We are pretty boring, I guess, in that we always get the same Arugala salad, and the same Tony Luppino pizza, but we venture off into their lengthy and fabulous wine list. They have spent a lot of time making the selections they have and their staff are all so knowledgeable about every wine and so helpful. We love them all, and I didn't really want to do this review because if it gets too busy we won't be able to get our booth! B&K, Seattle Capitol Hill

Probably one of the coolest Italian places. Authentic pizza's- watch them make everything.

Awesome Italian pizza.

Yes, it is a lot to pay for "pizza". But it isn't really American pizza, it is closer to Ny/Italian pizza-- which is a culinary art, not a melted mass of doughy cheese. the wine is excellent, salads are lovely, atmosphere is very romantic and hip.

Thin soft wood-fired crust, fresh ingredients, fantastic wine selection, what more could you want? Service was great and our waiter was very funny and helpful with the menu. Cozy cool atmosphere and fair prices. Will definitely return.

We were in Seattle the night before our wedding and need a place for 18 of us on very short notice. Via Tribunali hooked us up with the family style dinner that was simply amazing, some of the best salad and pizza I have ever had. Great decor, phenomenal service, everything was awesome.

Wow! Our 12 year old is on a quest for the best pizza in Seattle. At present, this pizza is tops on his list. " Best pizza since we left Italy, dad!" Wife and i had Tuna (really!), he had Margarita pizza, and we split meza Luna for desert. Highly recommend

Great food, slightly dark environment but I used my iPhone torch to see the menu :-) Delicious pizza, great wine too.

The atmosphere is calm, perfect for a date although I wouldnt recomend for a party bigger than 6, the place isnt really big but its really comfortable. the pizza is one of the best, the crust is amazing!

Excellent thin crust pizza...great with one (or two) of their stout little shot-like glasses of wine.

While in Seattle we made a reservation at Via Tribunali. We originally made the reservation for 5:30 expecting to hit happy hour and their $5 pizzas. It took us 45 min. walking to find the location. Once we found it, it was after 6. We ordered a large pizza with a salad on top. It was fresh and light. This was a wonderful little dive in Capitol Hill.

best authentic Italian pizza in Seattle

We wanted to have a simple pizza/pasta lunch so Via Tribunali seemed like a good choice. The restaurant (in Gerorgetown) with its rather dark, rather simple décor fits into the neighborhood. Service was fast and attentive. We had salad: my Caesar was excellent; the Di Parma my son had was also nice. The Prosciutto e funghi pizza was quite all right, but the Lasagna was not one of the bests. The Tiramisu was also quite nice. All in all, it was a decent lunch, but nothing to write home about.

Four adults, three children had excellent pizzas in this attractive restaurant. A little dark so a smart phone helps. Great choice of pizzas & other Italian favorites. Extensive & fairly priced Italian wine list was superb. We had a fine Banti Morrelino for $41 that was great with the food. The tiramisu was incredible - do not miss it. Service excellent. A very good family spot.

Reservation at Capital Hill Via Tribunali for a group of 10 for post-game tailgating - √ Great ambiance/nice semi-private area - √ Excellent wait staff tending to our every need - √ A couple bottles of tasty house Montepulciano wine (preferred over the Barbera) - √√ A couple trays of delectable "Misto Salumi" (this is the really good stuff) - √√ A trio of "Tricolor" salads topped with basalmic v.- √ Tried 4 different pizzas (x 2) and all were outstanding & cooked to perfection - √√√ Excellent experience had by all - √√√√√

We happened upon Via Tribunali and were so happy we did. Pizza made from scratch and cooked in a pizza oven. Yes please!! The lighting and architecture gives you the feeling you found a family run restaurant in Italy. The service was excellent. Our pizza was delicious and we saved room for the dessert calzone with nutella. Looking forward to going back.

This is the best pizza place in Seattle. The Neapolitan-style pizzeria has only the freshiest ingredients.. fresh buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula and sea salt. All baked in their brick oven brought over from Italy. The entire menu is in Italian and they have some wonderful Italian wines on the list, that are reasonable priced. The second best thing about this pizzeria is there imported Italian Tiramisu. It is also the best in the city .. so save room.

Algjörlega frábært. Magnificent. Got a great service, wonderful cocktails and the food was delicious. Totally worth it.

Nice wines, pizzas and pasta, pleasant to sit in tables at front when the weather is pleasant and they open the "garage door" to the street; good service; a bit dark farther back but romantic. Reasonably prices. Good wines.

Lots of choice and good service. Perfect doughiness with extra oil of you want to mop up with the crust. I had one with sweet coppa - get it.

Still the best of the Neapolitan style pizzas in Seattle. Dough is exactly salty and chewy enough, toppings are simple and delicious.

Stumbled upon this spot. Atmosphere is cool and different. Pizza was really good!! They do a happy hour after 10pm for food, $6 pizzas. Thomas was our bartender/server, we sat at the bar and he was awesome!

The Funghi Pizza was amazing, very fresh. The salad had a very good mix of greens. The house wine was very good.

Ate at the Georgetown restaurant as we were staying around the corner at the Georgetown Inn. Walked from the hotel and just loved everything about the restaurant. Pizza was so good and then for dessert got the Chocolate/Hazelnut Calzone-yum! Great service, it was our best dinner on our week trip through Washington!

Hands down my favorite pizza in Seattle. I have never ordered anything I didn't like at Via. The combinations are plentiful, the meats are spectacular and I can end my dinner with an espresso affogoto. At the end of the night I really don't care if I just spent $30 to go out for pizza - and those few time I do care, I just wait for late night happy hour. The atmosphere is spectacular at both the Capitol Hill location and Fremont (the only two I have been to).

It's a very nice place, cozy and beautiful. There are good options in the menu. I liked the 4 cheese pizza. Very nice I recommend.

Cool atmosphere. The pizza is decent but it's not the kind of pizza I typically look for.

Probably one of the better pizzas I have had here in seattle. Really fresh I had mine with smoked mozzarella it was great.

Via Tribunali was here before Serious Pie and Delancy started serving Neoploitan pizzas. It's kinda gritty, kinda dark, but open really late and has great pizza and pretty good salads. This is a happening spot late at night, and it is really noisy with lots of hungry partying hipsters. It's a happy spot just don't expect quiet fine dining -- that's not why you're here :).

For a few years this provided Seattle with the gold standard for pizza. Along came Serious Pie and that title was shared. Depending upon our mood, pizza ordered and the phase of the moon our #1 pizza choice went back and forth from Serious Pie to Via Tribunali. After years of waffling on our part we are, at last, prepared to declare Serious Pie the winner of the best Pizza in Seattle without any close contenders. Out of towners will find at least 3 Serious Pie locations within easy reach. If looking for a good pizza try it. How did Via Tribunali fall so far on our pizza scale? A few recent disappointments in pizza and in service. We'll use last night as an example: here is what the menu offered: PROSCIUTTO E FUNGHI 17 prosciutto cotto, oven-roasted mushrooms, pomodoro, fresh mozzarella, basil, grana padano Reading this you might think as we did, there will be some interesting oven roasted mushrooms instead of maybe two (at the most) of either button or crimini mushrooms thinly sliced and sparsely delivered. I guess it is the use of "funghi" that lead us to believe in some tasty and interesting mushrooms to be on the pizza. As for the prosciutto in the title you need to read the small print. It is prosciutto cotto. This is a boiled process for making prosciutto. Much cheaper than cured prosciutto and much less flavorful. However, our pizza appeared to have bits and pieces of thinly sliced sandwich ham. Here and there were chunks of it still stuck together that we could separate into little pieces of ham. Grana Padano is a common substitute for parmesan reggiano. On this pizza there was not enough of it to provide the saltiness expected. No nuttiness. This cheese was not apparent. Oh, by the way, there was no fresh basil on this pizza. Since this was a take out order we did not return this pizza. And, we will not be personally returning either. PS: tell that bartender not all the men sitting around that bar are his "Little Brother."

Really enjoyed this location. Thought the pizza and salad were really good. I would have wished that the pizza had some more toppings on it. Maybe they should offer a price of $3 more for more toppings as an option.

pretty darn authentic!

Both the Capitol Hill and Queen Anne restaurants are great. Queen Anne is more low key with a neighborhood feel. Capitol Hill a bit noisy but fun for the young crowd. The pizza is great, prices reasonable and consistent with Seattle.

Seattle has some wonderful fine dining, but sometimes you just want a pizza. This is real Italian style. Served unsliced, eat it with a knife and fork. The quattro staggione (four seasons) is my favorite. Each quarter has a different topping (prosciutto, mushroom, artichokes, tomato and cheese). The salads were also good, but the salad special seemed overpriced compared to the regular salads which were just as good.

Excellent pizzas with crisp crust, delicious sauce and fresh cheese. Some apps, salads and 3 pastas also available. Veal meatball app was tasty. Service was engaging and knowledgeable. Took longer than expected to get meal and was told they were short-staffed in kitchen. Setting-decor is retro-grunge-hip combo on busy Capitol Hill strip.

On the expensive side, but authentic italian pizze!

Went to Via Tribunali with my wife this weekend for dinner. Was a Friday night, so busy time of week. Were it not for my wife's persistence, I would have left- the hostess seemed to be dissuading us from staying - yup- very strange I know. Initially gave us a wait time, but when I asked if we could wait near the bar, she told us that was full. Anyways, we went in, hung around for a few minutes, till we found a seat at the bar where we ended up eating as well. The bartender was in a completely different league to the hostess and went out of his way to make us feel welcome, quick to get us drinks and explain the menu etc. Pizza was very good/excellent, but the list is longer then usual for this style of pizzeria, and I personally prefer that they separate the red/white etc. The dough was not as chewy as I prefer and the toppings were heavy.I liked the fact they give you scissors to cut the pizza with. The pies are also larger then the typical for this style and one was enough for me and my wife with an appetizer. Will go back and would have rated them higher were it not for the cold reception.

This is for what was an amazing happy hour. I ducked in out of the rain and was greeted by the rotund and warm Neapolitan oven. The happy hour menu was excellent and I am pretty sure we had just about everything on it! The stand out for me were the Margherita pizza - thin crispy crust, fresh tomatoes and runny beautiful mozzarella, olives - yumm, and a Nutella calzone that was super generous in size and incredibly tasty. There was nary a crumb left on the plate. The drinks were generous pours and very nicely served. We sat at the front window and watched the rain come down, traffic and people pass by in a warm and comfortable food haze. I highly recommend the happy hour at Via Tribunali - wonderful - check them out!

I came to Seattle for a baby shower for a friend. I had moved home from Naples, Italy a couple years before where I fell in love with the food, namely the pizza. I have often mentioned the provalone, smoked mozzarella pizza when asked what I miss the most about Italy or what food I liked best. My friend said, I picked the restaurant for you. We had a party of 15 headed that way. I'm a picky eater so she said, I know you will like it. The ambiance walking in was beautiful and the Puccinella screamed Napoli, but still, they could be a typical imitation. BOY WAS I WRONG! Man, oh man! They have all the Neapolitan classics. I ordered my pizza with smoked mozzarella and basil, the classic margarita pizza. It was perfectly cooked and heavenly. I was consumed with my long lost favorite flavors and even had thoughts of moving to Seattle just so I could eat this more often! I talked with the owners after who happily told me that they ship everything in from Naples. They even shipped the bricks and the guy who is a master pizza oven builder here to build the oven. I was impressed that this restaurant didn't go to Italy and then come home to build their interpretation of a pizza place. They didn't try to meet the American tastes and just decorate it to look like it would be in Italy. No, they are the full deal. Just thinking about it again makes me want to cash in frequent flyer miles!

My FAVE pizza place

At the insistence of a client our small group of two headed to a quirky part of Capitol Hill. We arrived before our clients and found a brick restaurant about the size of two bowling lanes with comfortably dim lighting creating a warm atmosphere. The hostess was welcoming, and even helped us play a little joke on the rest of our party while seating them. So, the people are friendly and the space welcoming... And that's not even the good stuff. After enjoying a plate cheese with Italian meats we got into our main course: pizza. Everyone had a different selection and we shared - but only a little. I had a simple Margherita pizza - all ingredients were fresh, and it was simply delicious. I didn't leave a crumb. I had a chance to try the others, with the most unique being the Tonno. I'd never even thought of a tuna based pizza before , but I was pleasantly surprised. While it isn't inexpensive, the surroundings and food make the cost seem reasonable. I'm looking forward to my next visit to Seattle, and a return to Via Trib Unali.

We are in town for an Alaskan cruise this week. We had two pizzas and the meatballs. Shared a ceaser salad. All food was phenomenal. Chaka was super super nice and gave great service. Glad we stopped by. Thank you for having us!

the pizzas are thin crust and if you like them Italian style with light weight toppings then you'll love these. Lots of salads to choose from in this small restaurant, but the salads are also small and tasty, but just average value. a pleasant italian style eatery, but you need lots of dishes if you are hungry. An innovative kids menu is available and a moderately priced wine list, again with a real Italian flavour

Really enjoy the pizza... but hate the wait.

my fav za spot in town. mmmm green olives

We stayed in this neighbourhood while in Seattle. We went here for dinner one night as we wanted something more casual. The veal meatball appetizer was amazing. All the pizza was amazing. Great wine menu too. Service was outstanding.

delicious but need some help translating the menu, staff is excellent at breaking it down for you!

Favorite pizza in Seattle. Blows Tutta Bella out of the water.

I flew home to be with my mom, who had heart surgery at Swedish. Needless to say, it was important to get food quickly so we could get back to the hospital. Nixing the "fast"stuff, we chose this little gem instead- and wound up at a happy hour where we could order pizza margherita for 6 bucks. But-I would pay more for what I got- perfect, light, crisp, piping hot and so amazing, I thought I was back in Naples. Our server was so enthusiastic and knowledgable about the authentic cooking methods. I cannot wait to get back here-

I have been to Via Tribunali on many, many ocassions and I have been to several different locations. With that said this Pizza never disappoints. There is a great variety or you can take it easy and go with a classic Marguerhita pizza... my partner loves the lasagne (baked just like he used to have when he lived in Milan) The prices are fantastic but the only downer would be that they are often busy so you will have to wait for a table or ask your hotel concierge to call them and make you a reservations.. We have taken several groups of friends and family there through many visits to Seattle and somehow we always drop in for a pizza while we are there or passing through on our way to the airport. Tip: Go later, it's easier to get a seat & happy hour begins around 10:30ish!

Excellent , pizza very tasty, and especially nice and thin crust . More than wide varieties of pizza and salads and tremendous variety of wine.

Went during "Negroni Week" and this place did not disappoint. Re: pizza, this ain't Pizza Hut! Each pie is approximately a serving for 1, and it doesn't come sliced. Ingredients are either local or imported from Italy.

I love the decor of the restraunt and looked very promising but was a floop. Poor service and bad timing with wine preping and when the food came out.

Ok, it is a nice enough place. The pizza is good (not great, but solid). The tiramisu is acceptable. But: the staff rush you from the moment you step in. Not a second to sit and think or talk to your friends. You haven’t even finished eating your dessert and the ever-fake-smiling member of staff throws the bill at you “Just getting this ready for ya” meaning “please pay and leave don’t even think of enjoying yourself” Go somewhere else, or at least go to a real fast food place rather than a pricey pizza place that makes you feel like you’re at one.

Authetic Italian pizza. Not for Pizza Hut fan as this pizza is on a cracker thin crust. The sauce is only crushed tomatoes. Fantastic with a bottle of red and sit out on their porch during the summer. The only drawback is the wait. Come before you're hungry or you'll starve in line!

Great pizza, good late night place

Good pizza. Every time we've gone it has taken at least an hour longer to get a table than they predicted - I don't mind long waits (in fact that's my metric for finding a good restaurant), but this was ridiculous.

We just arrived in Seattle and were looking for some pizza, we found this place close by and we don't regret it at all. The service was great, however, I found it strange in a place like this to have grunge music playing instead of nice Italian music. But this is beside the point. We all ordered pizzas, and I had the specialty Via Tribunali, what a gorgeous piece of calzone. I am not usually a calzone fan, but I like trying signature/ specialties in places so I decided to try. The others in my group had regular pizzas and loved them, but they absolutely loved mine. I mean who can resist smoked mozzarella, ricotta, rapini, sausage, and spinach? I am still thinking about this wonderful creation and hopefully, I can have it again soon. A highly recommended place with nice atmos and friendly servers.

Great attempt at incredibile pizza...but only an attempt in comparison to the ones I ate in Croatia

Between the four of us, we had pizza, calzones, and the lasagne, as well as some appetizers. All of the food was very good. However, this is not a place to go for a budget pizza dinner. Pizzas with meat toppings are $15 or $16, and if two people are both hungry, sharing one of these will not fill them up. (The full menu is on-line, including prices.) Despite the VERY loud music coming from a club just two doors down from the restaurant, the inside of the restaurant was not overly loud -- at least not in the booths near the back. A small quibble about the menu: The menu has numerous terms in Italian that are not translated. I personally understood it; but a diner who does not speak Italian should not have to ask the server to translate the menu.

Great thin, thin pizza. Very cool atmosphere.

Great pizzeria to have the authentic Naples experience in Seattle. I especially liked that the owners made wise decision not to play Italian music there - that would create cheese, face atmosphere...

This was one of my favourite restaurant in Seattle, but las night I was really disappointed. Even thought the pizza crust is still amazing, I found the rest of the ingredient not as good as they used to be. We ordered the cured meat plate as appetizer and the quality of the meat was not good at all. The prosciutto was defiantly a cheap domestic brand, not Parma anymore. The salame was inedible and the coppa very mediocre. The staff was not as attentive as it used to be. They had a very relaxed attitude that wasn't particularly enjoyable. From our table we were able to see the entrance of the restaurant and we noticed the Maitre Di playing with his cellphone all night. Unfortunately I am not looking forward to go back to this restaurant anymore.

The real deal. REAL Southern Italian pizza. Thin crust (the only way pizza should ever be made). Authentic Italian toppings. Great taste. Lots of Italian wines on the list. Very nice people. Visiting Seattle and my nephew took me there. Great!

The salads were nothing special, in fact, for the price they were bad. Both pizzas that we ordered were under cooked. How can you under cook a pizza? This is not the place for good food. The decor is well done and the wine was very good.

I say this is the best Italian pizza since I went to Italy. Very fast to get your pizza. MUST GO!!!!!

The interiors are great. The cocktails are good but very poor food. We ordered a Pizza and pasta Rigatoni both were absolutely bad, probably the worst in seattle. My last day in seattle after one month. Really spoilt our mood. Absolutely no no

5 of us split 3 delicious pizzas plus we had two salads...worked out so well. Enjoy the booths, great wine, fun atmosphere. After dinner stop at Molly Moon’s for ice cream and stroll to Kerry Park...overall great evening.

Good italian pizza, thin crust if that is your style, quaint atmosphere and casual. Sometimes the crust is a little watery. They have a nice selection of meats and cheeses that you can explore. The staff is very friendly.

I'm not one to give away 5 stars but this place was amazing. I thought the service and food was outstanding. We also had a great deal from TravelZoo which was 2 starters, one pizza to share and one dessert to share for $29. The deal was a fantastic deal and even if I didn't have this voucher, I'd still would be a fan. For the starters we chose the prosciutto and melon, and the veal meatballs. The melons were nice and cold, complimented the meat. Stephen really enjoyed the meatballs, commenting the meal was hand chopped and mixed as the consistency of the meat was not even, making each bite different. The pizza we ordered was the Margherita D.O.C, which is the one with the buffalo mozzarella, and the pizza reminded me of my time in Italy. Typically when I visit a gournet pizza place, my go-to choice is the Margherita, because its simple and the fresh ingredients should ideally mix well together. This pizza was simply perfect! The pomodoro tasted like it was literally just pureed minutes beforehand and the ingredients made my mouth smile. A few yelpers complained the middle of the pizza is a bit soggy, which is true, but the crust is thin which can't be helped, unfortunately. For dessert we shared the Mezza Luna, which is a nutella calzoni. A perfect dessert, not too sweet, but just a hint of the nutella to compliment the dough. We added 2 coffees (americanos) and left very satisfied. Perhaps 5 stars may seem overly generous, but I truly can't complain about my dining experience here. The food was amazing, the service was very good, and they even accommodated us without a reservation. I may have thought $3.00 for my americano was a bit high (tiny cup, no refill) but since my experience reminded me of my European trip, its almost like having a cup in Italy, and there's no refills there either. Toss in the Travelzoo "groupon" and this became the best deal in Seattle!

The pizza is thin and fire baked. The wine is delicious, and the service is great! I love the Queen Ann location. The only thing that saddens me about this place is how they don't serve brunch any longer...that was delicious!

I am a pizza connoisseur. I hope that my last meal on earth is pizza. My mother nicknamed me, "her little pizza pie". I have had pizza all over the United States as well many places in Italy. I am of Italian descent. I grew up on my Italian mother's homemade pizza so I feel compelled to say, I know good pizza when I have had the honor to taste one! I usually keep my opinions to myself and in fact this will be the very first review on anything. For me to write this review means I believe I have had the best pizza in the United States! I recently indulged in a pizza at Via Tribunali in the Capital Hill area of Seattle, Washington. My husband and I were not extremely hungry since noshing at the Seattle Market earlier in the day. We asked our waiter Ben if we could share a pizza. He explained the pizza's were 8" pizza's for only one person as prepared in Naples, Italy. Having been to Naples several times and experiencing a Neapolitan pizza I knew how large an 8" pizza really is. In Italian terms - 8" means just a suggestion - really a little larger. I knew one pizza would be enough for the two of us. We shared the Salsiccia. A Italian sausage, tomato, fresh mozzarella, basil and grana padano cheese. The pizza was amazing! The taste of all the ingredients and the smell took me right back to Naples, Italy When you can take a bite of pizza and truly taste each ingredient on the pizza without one overpowering the other that is truly a blessing for your taste buds. I can't say enough about each ingredient that is used - fresh and authentic! We shared the Insalata Di Parma which was perfect size and the right amount of olive oil and lemon - not over powering. I think American's overload salad with too much dressing. In Italy the salad is served after the dinner. The greens are meant to aid in digestion of your dinner. Ben our waiter and wait staff were wonderful and very attentive. We did not have a reservation and they fit us in promptly. The only negative experience was it was a little too dark for our aging eyes but it felt romantic. We enjoyed our experience so much we went back the next night. We had the same salad and this time shared the Margherita pizza. Again, the taste was truly amazing! For those of you that are in love with Nutella, I would recommend the Mezza Luna - a chocolate hazelnut calzone. The pizza was paired with a glass of Chianti and a delicious cup of Coffee with desert. Two nights in a row with my favorite meal, the love of my life, great wine, and wonderful people who work at Via Tribunali on Pike Street in Seattle. I couldn't ask for anything more!

Ate here for dinner with my family several days ago. Had read about how great it was so we decided to check it out. We were seated in the open area in the front of the restaurant, which was nice because we could people-watch and enjoy the fresh air, along with the view of the run-down building across the street, and as it got darker outside we could still see our food. We first ordered drinks and some water. The first thing that annoyed us was when water was brought to us, it was lukewarm and no ice, like drinking out of a city water fountain. When it was refilled, same thing. When the table next to us was seated with three attractive young guys, our waitress brought them water WITH lots of ice. My son and husband got ice with their tea and soda, but when I ordered a lemonade, it came in a bottle with a straw that was nearly too short to sip out of. I asked for a glass with ice so I could pour the lemonade over it, and I got a short bar glass with some ice. Our waitress seemed to have an attitude, as if we were lucky to be eating there or she simply couldn't really be bothered to be helpful to a family there for dinner. My son liked his caesar salad - they don't use traditional caesar dressing, instead they use an olive oil base with cheese, pepper and anchovies. We also had an arugula salad with lemon, cheese and olive oil dressing that was very good. Our pizzas were very good as well, - typical wood-fired Neopolitan pizza which is thin crust and a bit soupy in the middle, and of course our waitress brought the pizza shears to the guys' table and didn't even offer them to us or clear away our extra used dishes. The pizzas had good flavor and the ingredients were fresh, although the proscuitto on one looked and tasted a lot more like Krakus ham than real proscuitto. My son had pasta which he said was great, but when he asked for more shredded cheese and I ordered another lemonade, it took her forever to bring them. She did finally bring them, though we were all finished eating by that point, and told us she had forgotten about it. Which was interesting because the three attractive guys next to us seemed to get their orders and extras pretty darn quick, and she was quite attentive to their table, while we were basically ignored. Now for the dark bit - as you go inside the restaurant, it gets darker and darker and darker, with minimal lighting and a lot of candles. It's all very gothic and medieval and so forth but, seriously people, the bathroom?? OMG - first, it's nearly impossible to find the place, what with the small letters "WC" hand-written with a black marker on the door, and inside there is a dim reddish light and two little candles. You can barely see inside while you are in there and when you come out, it's like "follow the blinking neon light at the front of the restaurant!" All the candles are real flame votives, I might add, not the fake flame battery-operated candles, which combined with the extreme darkness seems like at some point something is going to catch on fire. Whatever - we won't be there because we won't ever go back. We can get great Neopolitan pizza here in Chicago in a well-lit environment with a server who cares about her job. Very disappointing - if we had had better service, our experience would have been dramatically different.

Via has the most authentic Italian wood fired pizza outside of Italy. Take a bite of their Margarita style and you're transported back to Naples. Any of their food items are incredible and they have a full service bar to complement your food. Btw - they know how to make a real Negroni.

I have eaten at this restaurant in 2 different Seattle locations...both times were about the same. The pizza is good but nothing spectacular. There are a lot of unique options on the menu. I recently tried there Via Tribunali "house special' pizza. It was more like a calzone and the sausage in it was not good at all. It had no spice or flavor and ruined the taste of the whole pizza. My boyfriend ordered a regular salami (aka pepperoni) pizza. It was ok, but pretty greasy. I like the atmosphere and the wine list but the taste is a little lacking.

Excellent authentic pizza in the Naples style. Although not on the menu, they have a wonderful Ceaser Salad. Lunch specials are very nice and reasonable. Their site in Georgetown is a little hard to find, but is worth the effort.

Great Pizza, sometimes worth the wait

Really enjoyed our pizzas at Via Tribunali. Long wait on a saturday night, but to be expected. The pizzas arrived quickly and were yummy. A real treat to get authentic Neapolitan pizza!

great ambience (albeit very noisy), great pizza

Best pizza in Seattle, authentic Neapolitan style. And the brick and stained glass interior reminiscent of a Romanesque abbey totally rocks!

I am a huge fan of Neopolitan-style pizza and this was among the best. We visited the Queen Anne location which is very inviting and cozy - especially on this cold, rainy night. The four of us each had a different pizza and they were all excellent. I am not very knowledgable on Italian wines and asked the waitress to recommend one in the $40 range. She brought us a $36 bottle that was outstanding. And they had Stella Artois on tap. I only get to Seattle several times a year and this is my new go-to pizza place. Everything about this place makes me want to return again and again.

I have to say that I had never had pizza you can cut with scissors before. Dining at Via Tribunali was a very unique restaurant experience. Located close to downtown Seattle it is easy to locate and a fun experience. The waiter was very helpful in explaining the menu and making suggestions. We tried two different pizzas and the salad was excellent. The staff is very proud of their restaurant and are willing to take the time to explain the details of how the restaurant originated and the history of the Italian oven. The wood fired oven was purchased in Italy and shipped to Seattle and assembled there. The taste is unique and provides you with a genuine Italian dining experience. The lighting was a bit too low and made reading the menu difficult.

I must have passed by this place over 100 times and never really saw it until my date recommended it. We went and were glad we did. The Neopolitan-style pizza is baked to perfection in a wood oven making it perhaps one of the best pizzas in Seattle. Light crust, lots of healthy ingredents - a definite hit for all of us. Like another reviewer we asked the server (who was quite knowledgeable and kept steering us in the right direction) and she recommeded a crisp white for me and a rich red for my date. A perfect dinner -we even ordered another pizza we liked it so much. The ambiance was dark, cozy, and romantic - a great place for a date, for business, for out of town guests, or just solo. Not cheap but this is not your hole int he wall pizza parlor - a real find.

Such an incredible location. The rustic brick, wood beams, and pizza oven provide a very authentic feel. One aspect of this experience that really stuck with me was the exceptional service. Great wine and pizza selection. I walked in around 5:30 and had no trouble finding a table, however, a reservation would not be the worst idea. ALSO...HAPPY HOUR COCKTAILS AND FOOD FROM 4-6PM AND 10PM TO CLOSE!!! $6 Happy Hour Pizza

This wood-fired thin crust pizza is truly the best I've ever had in Seattle. The Sausage Pizza and the VIa Tribunali Special were both so delicious. I am fortunate enough to live within walking distance of this wonderful restaurant. Decorated inside with rustic exposed brick and soft lighting the mood is evocative of an Italian country villa. The pizza is just bubbly perfection out of the oven. You know something is good when you can't stop eating it !!!!

Having traveled to Italy, I never expected any restaurant in the United States to come close to the flavor of true Italian cuisine. I am pleasantly surprised to say that Via Tribunali gets everything right. The pizza was excellent. They prepare their food in an authentic wood-burning oven (rumored to contain bricks from Napels, Italy). The wait staff was excellent. The restaurant seems to be family run, with the owner and several employees conversing in Italian. If you stop in, be sure to have a glass (or bottle) of the vino rosso della casa (Red House Wine). It goes perfect with anything on their menu and tastes just as I experienced in Italy. Simply stated, if you are in Seattle and are looking for good, authentic Neapolitan pizza then you owe it to yourself to visit Via Tribunali. You won't be disappointed.

I visited here with my parents for a dinner while in Seattle. Each of them ordered a pizza and enjoyed it and its super thin crust. I ordered lasagna and enjoyed it a lot. Everything was so fresh! The food was prepared and baked in a wood-fired oven. The house wine was standard wine in quality to that of comparable restaurants. I would give the service a high score! The only drawback was that the restaurant was so dark it was difficult to see even the menu.

This is the real one folks. Anyone that has savored a Neopolitan-style pizza in Italy will be very happy here. Thin charred crust, FRESH tomato sauce and toppings bursting with full flavor. We had the Quatto Stagioni (4-Seasons) pizza that has 4 separate sections with toppings. The salame knocked my socks off, the prosciutto tender and flavorful, the mushrooms earthy and the fresh basil fragrant. We also really loved what the wood oven did for the Sautee di Vongole (Oven roasted clams) and their tender flatbread. I ordered a simple salad of arugula with lemon and shaved parmesan, put it on the flatbread and then drizzled it with their good quality olive oil. We felt like we were back in Positano. I need to mention also that the waitstaff was excellent..attentive but not intrusive. This will be the first place we eat on our next trip back to Seattle.

Awesome pizza, wine, and ambience. Just have the Nutella calzone and thank me later. Also recommend happy hour choices.

We had dinner @ Via Tribunali while visiting Seattle. Got a recommendation from Germany. What should I say? It exceeded my expectations. Delicious pizza, great wine, lovely pasta and great dessert - it felt like eating directly in Italy. The waiter was very attentive and friendly, we felt so comfortable all the time. I am really happy that we ate @ Via Tribunali and I am really looking forward to the next visit. Thanks for such a lovely experience.

We stopped by for a fairly early dinner. Overall was a good choice... the salads were a nice surprise, the pizza was tasty, and the cocktails good enough.

Great pizza!

We go to the location on Queen Anne and love the ambiance in addition to the Quattro Stagioni and Primavera... so fresh... so authentic... it's heaven.

went with friends, service was very good, nice atmosphere, food was just average, there were 2 pasta dishes, neither were vegetarian. when I asked for a veg option on the pasts, the only thing they could offer was pasta was insipid red sauce- a little disappointing as they offer pizza with pesto and lots of veggie toppings - somehow these couldn't be applied to the pasta happy hour is a good value

Nice service, great pizza, good beverage, and å very Nice atmosphere. First stop om Seattle and We were happy with it. One minus regarding price level

Absolutely authentic using imported ingredients and a custom wood fired oven ... fun place on Capital Hill, Seattle and a wonderful taste of Italy ... I want to try everything on the menu ... Highly recommended and I know you will love it ... we had the Toni Lupino, Piazza Dante and the Pizze Lasagna ... split the three thin crust delights among three and it was the right amount to satisfy everyone ... Followed up with the Profiterols and the Tartufo Affogato (coffee sauce coated gelato) ... Wines, beers and four caffe choices ... menu is in Italian so ask ... wait staff is fun, attractive, and near Goth but perfect for the location ... Loved it!

Please eat here so that restaurants like this thrive. By "like this" I mean authentic cuisine (this is REAL pizza, peeps) at good prices by people who love food.

My favorite pizza in Seattle and they're open until late. And I love the atmosphere, but it's always crowded.

We have been eating at the Queen Anne location for about 3 years now and it really is a lot of fun. You feel like you are eating at an authentic Italian little Tratoria. It is lively, friendly, and a little funky. The pizza is wonderful, thin crust and just the perfect amount of fresh toppings. The salads are always good too. It can get a little crowded, and a little noisy, but that is how Italy is, no?

This is a typical bar / restaurant with untypically friendly service and good food. We ate here twice while staying in Georgetown. On the second night, we had actually gone to a Mexican restaurant in the area that was recommended to us but the host was so rude, we decided we’d rather eat at a place that would appreciate our business, so we came back and were glad we did. The first night, we had a bruschetta as a starter and shared a Margherita pizza. They make authentic Italian style pizza with a nice thin crust and without the gobs of synthetic cheese you get at so many places. It was good! Anthony, our server, was also great. On the second night, a Friday, the place was much busier but we got a table within 5 minutes. That night, my wife went with the Margherita pizza again and I went with the clams and spaghetti. If you go there, you’ve got to try this dish! Lots of clams in a good spicy sauce. This is the kind of place I wish we had in our town.

Nice pizza

This is an outstanding pizza joint, with great pizza, great attitude and great location

The location, in the up and coming Seattle area called 'Georgetown', was a bit hard to find, but the incredible Happy Hour deal was worth it. We now want to return and try one of their full-size pizzas!

Via Tribunali on Pike is my go to place for Neopolitan Style Pizza in this neighborhood. The atmosphere is rustic Italian with wooden tables and chairs in the front and booths along the wall in the back facing the bar. They have a great wood-fire oven in which they bake their pizzas, which are true neopolitan style and that I think are up among the top 3 or 4 in the City. The late night happy happy hour is perfect for me because I can get a decent glass (or half caraf) of wine and one of their individual sized pizzas for about the cost of a Quarter Pounder Meal Deal, and really. who wants to eat that anyway?

High temp, wood fired ovens Do make a difference! The 90second cooking time on this fine , thin crust pizza is evidence of the oven's performance.. Delivering a blistered flavorful crust, which is topped with a light, bright simple sauce ( on the marinara), and additional quality toppings on the delicious putanesque variety. Fresh salad was good and topped with zinging Parmesan shavings, and my veal meatballs were good, not great. We were very pleased we stumbled upon this neighborhood gem. BTW the ice cream place next door does a super job with unusual flavors and fresh made waffle cones.

Was really looking forward to this dinner after all the raves. We tried a couple different pizzas, albeit simple choices, cheese and the pepperoni and both were good. Also had a caesar salad and lasagna. I guess for the price and considering this is an Italian Restaurant would it be too much to expect a piece of bread with a pasta dish? The lasagna was okay, I would not order it again. Also didn't get the items that were suppossed to accompany my kids meals and didn't realize until we were done with our meal, but no offer of the caprese salad on a stick or fruit plate??? To me that is the servers job--to bring you the items that accompany your meal, I shouldn't have to police what is or isn't brought to the table. Anyway, okay and we'll probably go another time, but I was not blown away. And guess I'm spoiled that most italian restaurants (and I'm not simply talking Olive Garden, which I wouldn't really count as a true italian restaurant) usually provide bread or breadsticks or something along those lines either just after sitting down or at least to accompany pasta!

The pizza was excellent and the atmosphere wonderful. I was a little worried I would be chastised for not eating it in the "proper" way but I am a folder anyway so I must have passed.

I just love this place. Thing the pizza is delicious, the salads are amazing and the wine selection is awesome. Been here a few times and always enjoyed myself. The last time was a late night with a friend who was in town, and we tried some different things on the menu and couldnt believe how delicious everything was. Its VERY dark inside - perfect date night setting. Somewhat pricey but reasonable.

A great place to end a 19-year relationship.

The experience at Via Tribunali is just so much fun. How often do you get to cut your pizza with a pair of scissors?? The pizza is very traditional Neapolitan style and the buffalo mozzarella is to die for. There are several locations throughout the city and all have been very consistent.

2nd best pizza in the city

Great place

Last weekend, I went with a group of six people to Via Tribunali for the first time. Loved the feel of this place. It has a cathedral theme with seating like pews and stain glass designs on the walls. Perfect date night place with the mood lighting. Pizza was awesome! Could be shared or eaten on your own. We tried out their house red. It was a special blend. Different but good. Worth a try if you enjoy Pizza!

We usually go to Italy twice a year and find the pizza almost everywhere very good. This Seattle pizza establishment has other branches in the city all of which are just as good. The pizza here is the best outside of Italy. They also have great salads, clams and pasta and the wine list is unbelievable.

My sausage/basil pizza had the same # of random hairs as it did leaves of basil: ONE! The pizza was not very filling and this place is way overhyped. Never going back.

We met friends here for dinner on a Friday evening. Finding parking was difficult. Once we found parking it was expensive to park. The restaurant is quite dark - it's the ambiance. Bring a flashlight or your cell phone if you want to read the menu. I had pizza which our friends said would be personal size. It was way too much for one person so we had some to take home and enjoy the next day. The smoked mozzarella and prosciutto pizza was wonderful. My better half had a calzone which he didn't share and really enjoyed. We shared a Della Casa salad which was enough for two. They have an interesting wine list - Italian wines - and we each enjoyed a glass of merlot/cab.

Went to Via Tribunal on the recommendation of a restaurant owner friend in Atlanta and it was wonderful. Pizza was truly authentic to what we recently ate in Tuscany, and just amazing Tiramisu. Took a taxi due the uphill trip to get there, but the walk back to the Hotel Monaco was great....good way to walk off that spectacular Tiramisu. Highly recommended!

The girlfriend had heard great things about this restaurant so we decided to check it out. Upon walking into it, we thought that perhaps there was a power outage since it was quite dark and all the tables were candle lit. Turns out that this was how it always is! Honestly, it's a bit too dark. I get the whole "romantic candlelight" vibe they want to give. But when you have difficulties reading the menu and need to pull out your cell phone and use the light from that to read it.. it's too dark. Food itself was great. Ordered some tomatoes with fresh buffalo mozzarella and then a pizza to share. Tasted similar to pizza I had while over in Italy, but not quite there. Definitely worth checking out, though I would suggest to go earlier on or at least at some point where it's still light out so you have some natural light coming in!

This place is REALLY good. If you like Napolitan style pizza then this is your place. It is very authentic and done the Italian way. Everything in addition seems so fresh and that is perhaps why this place is so good. The building has alot of character. Really an old space that has been converted but maintains all of the originial character. There are 4 other spots so this pizza place is popular. When we got there they were moderately full but by the time we left people were waiting by the door for a table.

From the first Via Tribunali and I got off to a bad start. As we sat down, we noticed it was massively dark. I went to the restroom and came back to find my gf reading her menu with her candle held close to it (this tends to burn your fingers if kept up long). I tried holding my menu up to catch some little light coming over the edge of the booth and then settled for the candle technique. I asked my gf how she was doing and she said ok except she had put her hand irritatingly into a pool of liquid while reaching for her candle because looking at the edge of the table was like looking into a dark box. I spilled water on my lap and enjoyed the rest of the meal wet down there -- the waitstaff filled the glass to the very brim and in the darkness if not paying attention it's easy to make this mistake. I asked the waitress about the dark and she told me "the owner wants it this way". Later I found grease spots on the back of my pants -- no chance to see what I might have sat in because . . . it was too dark. For other parts of the ambience, I felt the music choice of heavy rock kind of like Slayer with overly loud mind-numbing washes of screech guitar was rather out of step with the attempted decor -- bricks, wood, and wood fired oven,in an apparent attempt at a dark, perhaps out of door seating (?) Italian trattoria. As for the food, my gf's salad was not very interesting, but passable, pretty bland lettuce with not a lot else. When my sausage pizza arrived, I found it soggy and limp to the point of drooping readily when a piece was lifted, not to mention held aloft, and the sausage on it I felt was the type I would buy in bulk at the supermarket. The scissors they supplied to cut my pizza did nothing for me; I'd rather they cut it. My pizza was something like $16, which I felt was not a great deal for the quality received. My gf and I talked upon leaving and agreed there was nothing to bring us back to this restaurant, when so many other great choices abound in the location.

The pizza is delicious...reminiscent of time spent in Italy. The only thing that kept it from getting an "excellent" was that the person with me was not "allowed" to add mushrooms to his sausage pizza...being told "no" to an addition we were willing to pay for certainly affected our experience, and we haven't been back since.

We had a lovely time, eating two classic pizzas, the Dante, and the Quattro Stagnione(?). Our server, Justin, made sure to put more arugula on the Dante, which was good. Pizza is classic Neopolitano. The house wine....well, not so good, and not cheap. This place is a bit overpriced, but maybe, since I am not from the area, it is average. Overall, a good time, recommend you to try it. We paid about 60$ for two pizza, three servings of bruschetta, and a half liter of house wine.

We stumbled upon this place in a store front when we were there with our grandchildren. It is some of the best pizza with the freshest ingredients we have ever eaten. So many good choices and our grandkids said it was fabulous. I would agree. We have been back more than a half dozen times. They are also in NYC and Portland, OR and get rave reviews in each of those cities. We live near Portland and have been there twice. It is the same pizza there, too.

Just tried the new Queen Anne location - excellent pizza and even better tiramisu.

This is truly an authentic Neaopolitan pizza place. On a recent visit I had the prosciutto e funghi, or tomato, fresh mozzarella, Italian ham, and mushrooms. We went at dinner time on a Wednesday evening. The place was about half to three quarters full. We were promptly seated, and upon placing our order the pizza was out in less than 10 minutes. From this standpoint, the service was exceptional. We were served by an Italian gentleman who was very attentive and polite. Our pizza was only 15 bucks and it was enough for my wife and I for dinner. Keep in mind, however, that we are both semi light eaters who prefer taking several smaller meals each day as opposed to gorging ourselves at dinner time like many people. The pizza itself was second to none. An authentic thin crust, cooked in a very hot wood fired oven, with in tasty pomodoro sauce. Fresh mozzarella was dotted on the top along with diced ham and fresh mushrooms. The flavor of the sauce and each ingredient came through, which was helped by the fact the pizza was not smothered in cheese ala "American style" (not that I don't like it, but it is a different experience). The atmosphere was great. Large wooden booths lined one wall with tables lining the adjacent. The place was dimly lit creating a nice, relaxed, romantic atmosphere. My wife and I each enjoyed a glass of house red and our bill came to just over 30 bucks. This was not bad at all for what I considered to be an exceptional pizza. I will certainly be back, maybe several times, the next time I visit Seattle.

I had a tuna pizza--first ever--made with imported from Italy canned white tuna. It was an exceptional dish. The tiramisu was memorable. The happy atmosphere with good swervice complemented the cuisine.

pizza is good. via tribuanali is better.

seriously good pizza

The pizza is great, I wish it weren't always so crowded. Some of the staff have a little too much attitude

Tasty quality pizza. We've recently moved from the East Coast and have been sorely disappointed with West Coast pizza. This is the real deal. No kale on it, no quinoa or vegan meat. Just really good brick oven thin crust pies. Go during happy hour and the prices are great.

Right up there with the best crust I've ever had: thin but with a nice chew. The room (and bathroom especially!) is very dimly lit and the service is polite and unobtrusive so the restaurant may be best suited for a date night or a "sharp casual" night out. We had our 22yo and 17yo daughters and while we loved the pizzas the vibe wasn't quite right for us.

Decent beer but the antipasti plate had no cheese. When asked the waiter he just said that s the way is served. Not so professional

I'm still a very picky pizza-person. Since I make my own pizza dough, it is difficult to please me. I most enjoyed the blonde pizza (no red sauce ) with fresh greens (uncooked) and large shaved pieces of cheese. Although I prefer a thick crust, this pizza was delicious. We got there right at 5 p.m. on a Sunday evening. By the time we left there weren't any empty tables and it was definitely a family ristorante. The mushroom pizza was also very good.

I lived in Italy and Rome for several years and think I know a good pizza when I try one (I'm picky). If you like Round Table pizza, you may not like this pizza. But if you like authentic thin-style mid- to southern-Italy pizza, you'll like this pizza. We had a four cheese pizza. I'll go back to try the others when I can. The caesar salad (w/o anchovies by choice) was delicious. And the bruschetta with Kalamata olives (and I believe Kalamata olive paste) were good too. If you're a vegetarian, you'll find plenty of choices to choose from.

Who popped this place right out of the box from Italy? Great atmosphere. Pretty good food.

Great thin crust pizza that's worth making the trip for. Only regret is we got takeaway because the restaurant had a great little vibe going.

Is this address correct? There is one at Queen Anne also. Great thin crust Italian pizza. Buffalo cheese, Salumi peperoni etc...

We happened across this place on April 20th when we walked across I-5 up Pike Street to find a restaurant. The place is an old stable/carriage works and the building is characterful. The pizza was divine, the best I have ever had. The house speciality is most recommended. It is not cheap, but the food is excellent. Service was really good too.

DELICIOUS pizza. Fresh, Neapolitan-style, authentic. Yum.

Visiting Seattle on summer get away, and walked by on our way to Pikes Place. Saw the sign for Napoleon pizza and decided to come back for dinner. BEST DECISION EVER! App’s FANTASTIC! Highly recommend the meat balls! Pizza lives up to the standards of Napoleon and is DIVINE! A real slice of heaven!

if you like Neapolitan style pizza this is the place to go. I'm italian and I love pizza, this is my favorite Pizzeria in North America!

The pizza was great, though this is a Neapolitan style place- my favorite, but not the case for everyone. We went on at peak time- around 7:30 PM on a Saturday- were initially told a very long wait of an hour or more, but then decided to eat at the bar. The bar staff were very friendly, atmosphere great, and pizza made right in front of us. Word of warning for those with children- this place is somewhat compact inside, so not particularly easy with kids, but can be managed if you're motivated enough. Only reason I took a star off is that the hostess appeared a little aloof, and we got the impression she was disinterested. However, once we were seated and met the other staff, we were much more comfortable. Having said, the small group of 3 ahead of us left because of what they may have sensed.

True Neapolitan Pizza. Great Salads. Good Wine and ambiance.

inattentive and rude service, bad pizza, overcrowded and cramped.
Great pizza for a pizza...
Great pizza for a pizza lover
