Love the Airport locations for wine tasting

By Sheryl F |

I was unfamiliar with Vino Volo- and just popped into the DFW (American Airlines terminal) location during a 90 min layover. I was very impressed with the level and quality of wines. I purchased a white wine flight, and a glass of red wine. I also ordered the meatballs as an appetizer (they were ok. Nice compliment to the red wine). I also purchased 2 nice bottles of wine (for my trip to Los Angeles). My total tab was $135- and the server recommended that I join their frequent customer club (because I was halfway to the freebie :-) I joined and can't wait for my return trip to an airport to continue to try new wines. My layover quickly changed from boring to exciting- and I had a couple of great bottles (Truchard Chardonnay and Turley Zinfandel) with me for my Los Angeles trip. I purchased the Truchard Chardonnay for $40 at Vino Volo and when I priced the bottle at my local grocery store it was selling for $33 (not too bad of mark-up). Very fairly priced wines!! And Vino Volo is located in a great number of airports :-)

Quit whining with a Glass of Wine

By Dan |

Experiencing the hustle bustle of the DFW airport, you can sneak into a corner table or sit at the bar for a glass of wine to help you deal with the craziness when travelling through busy airports! Vino is a mini get away for a lot of hectic travelers looking to unwind a bit when having to deal with airlines that are constantly late or have bad customers service. It seemed like everyone in here was dealing with delays. We had the Avocado Salad with added chicken for protein, it was just ok and a glass of Cab ... 2 salads 2 glasses of wine $80.10.... to lessen the airport stress!! :-)

Favorite airport stop

By miniviolet |

This is my favorite place to stop when I have time to kill at the airport. Great wines. Food is good (not awesome, but good). Definitely overpriced, but it's a nice quiet place to relax.

Way better than the Admirals Club

By casualcharacter |

Due to an unexpected delay, I found Vino Volo and the great people working there. For nearly 3 hours, I wined and dined myself under the guidance of the VV team. They were all very knowledgable of their products and how to pair them. And, they share their knowledge in such a friendly and unassuming manner. If you are stuck at Dallas International Terminal A - or any other terminal, seek this place out! With more and more loud and inconsiderate people using the Admirals Club, I am about ready to end my 20+ year membership and opt for Vino Volo and other great options found in most airports now.

Great find in DFW

By John S |

I travel a lot and connect in the DFW airport 10+ times a year. I have a membership to the Admirals Club so usually spend my time in the lounge. This week I decided to try something outside the lounge and went to Vino Volo for a light lunch and wine tasting. Enjoyed a flight of wines and discovered one that I had never heard of before. Liked it so much I bought 2 bottles to take home. The salmon dish was amazing. I look forward to going back here on future connections.

Waiting In DFW

By Joe V |

We were in DFW today with a 3 hour wait so we decided to find a place to eat and unwind leading us to Vino Volo. Right from the start one of the features we liked was the lack of a packed crowd as most of the other eating establishments at the airport were experiencing. We enjoyed a bottle of Los Cardos Malbec, Kale and Blueberry salad and roasted tomato soup which was delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. The establishment was clean. So in summary if you have to spend some time at DFW Vino Volo will help you enjoy your wait for the connecting flight

Good selection of wines...

By goodtravel T |

We enjoyed a relaxing lunch, with wine, while we waited for our flight. The service was excellent and we loved the brie sandwich and chicken salad!

A wondrous airport oasis!

By Jeff S |

If you happen to be at DFW Airport in terminal A, and you like wine and nice food, this is the place. A great selection of wines. You can even choose tasting flights of three. Really nice food choices that accompany the wine selection. Yes, these are airport prices - but if you can handle that, you gotta give this place a try.

Great attitude adjustment for a missed connection

Enjoyed a lovely cab, pulled pork tacos and salad. Download the app so you are eligible for wonderful wine at a $2 pour. Will return, regardless of missed connections

Great Option for Enjoying a Long Airport Layover

By yrlesru |

My first Vino Volo experience was at Dulles Airport in DC. There are 29 locations around the US and Canada. Make sure to download the Vino Volo app for Android or iOS. The concept is a wine club for those who _really_ enjoy wine drinking. But if you find yourself in an airport with one of their locations, it is a great way to spend a long layover and the choice of wines by the glass beat the poor offerings at most airport bars or restaurants.

We're in an Airport?

By hotelmotelholidayin |

Not sure if this chain exists outside of airports, but for an airport, this place is terrific. First, the prices are totally reasonable. And by reasonable I mean compared to other airport options like $4 bottles of water, 2 for $9 packs of snack mix, and $10 salads that at half the cost you'd pass up scornfully at your local 7-11. That being said, I still think Vino Volo is a tasty, relatively healthy and less expensive option vs. other airport eateries. I had a layover in DFW and for $15 I had the mixed green salad with goat cheese (which was made with real spring mix) and a glass of Temperanillo. The salad was a nice size, fresh and perfectly dressed. The wine was good and an entire Bottle would've cost only $23! When was the last time you went to a bar or restaurant and ordered a decent bottle of wine for less than $25?!? I can tell you that if you did, you weren't in Miami, NYC or any other major metro area. Bottom line, if you want fresh, Mediterranean-style eats, good wine, and reasonable prices (for the airport if nothing else), ViNo Volo is a good bet! BTW, enjoyed it so much I had lunch at the SNA location days later on my return. The green chili was delish! And, I ordered the salad again!

Great selection of wines snd more...

Super Server and Great Atmosphere

By gary c |

I’m sitting now in Vino Volo in the Dallas Airport in Terminal A, Gate 17. I had the California Cab flight along with some home baked almonds from this establishment. Great wines but the most amazing thing is my waitress, Liz. Liz was one of the nicest and best servers I have ever had the pleasure of working with….. We had talks about different AVA’s and the terrior of different areas, her travels to different wine areas in the world and mine…. She is very, very knowledgeable about many things in the world and it was such a nice, refreshing respite away from the travails of travel!!! I highly recommend this place if traveling through Dallas and hopefully Liz will be working!!!!!!!!!!! Also this place might be the nicest looking Vino Volo I have ever seen. Super clean and a wine lovers dream!!!!!!!!!

Good place for a layover

By Ellen H |

Such a nice relaxing place to spend part of our 3 + hour layover. The wine choices are interesting and in most cases excellent, it is not often you get to compare wines at your leisure and decide which are your favorites! We tried a couple different " flights" and were not disappointed. We also shared the olives and the cheese plate and it was just right with our wine! Staff is friendly and knowledgable!

A perfect gourmet meal while waiting for your flight !

By Joselyn Chanes de Avila |

This is the second time I visit this place and the experience is gorgeous ! Forget about cheap fast food and enjoy this place: the ambience, the wine variety and excellent service. My meal recommendation: Mixed greens & goat cheese as appetizer (or they have the large version with chicken breast and pinenuts), truffle penne & cheese with a glass of sweet white wine (Waugh cellars, Riesling)

wine and DFW

If you have extra time at DFW airport, go to A17 and you will find a quint restaurant that has a great wine!!!

Truffle popcorn and good wine

Great service good wine and truffle popcorn is a must. The Pinot Noir Bouchard Père & Fils 2011 is excellent.

fine little jewel

By CRUISEREADER |

Looked up places for dinner stop over in Dallas airport. Found this and thought what a good idea. We tried a flight of taster of wine. I had Texas reds and. They were tasty tasty tasty. I had the cheese board with flat bread and fig jam and loved it. It was worth the effort to find out how to get there and just do it. Go you'll love it.

A Welcome Refuge

By Kim H |

Three-hour layover at the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport? No problem, thanks to Vino Volo. I had a wonderful glass of champagne and a prosciutto and brie sandwich on ciabatta. Great service, comfortable setting, good food and great wine.

Perfection

By DLogsdon |

I had a half hour layover, was starting to become a bit hangry and just outside of my departure gate, I located this lovely gem. When I alerted the staff that I had only a half hour to get some food, I was politely informed that's a lifetime for an airport venue! So, I plugged in my dying cell phone in one of the MANY outlets and quickly chose the penne and a white flight. The food was delicious and a perfect (smaller) portion perfect for a 2 hour flight. The wine was wonderful and complemented my meal. My only recommendation to the diner, ask for the short pour on your least favorite varietal. I read, after ordering, that the flight is a 5 oz pour. 3 glasses = 2, 2 oz pours and 1, 1 oz pour. Had I known, I would have asked for the sauvignon blanc to be the short pour as this is a varietal I almost never order. Next time! I will go back when I fly through DFW again. Great service, friendly, good food and wine and fast as a flash to make the next leg of the trip!

Quiet club-like atmosphere soothes the harried traveler.

By nst2 |

If you are waiting for a flight in Terminal A at DFW from gates 6-20, consider stopping in at Vino Volo for a light snack and glass of wine. You can also purchase a bottle to carry with you to your destination. The prices are reasonable, and the food options vary from salads to charcuterie plates and more, including a few dessert options. The kale & blueberry salad is appealing visually, as well as to the taste buds. Also, their signature dish, smoked salmon rolls, is a delightful light side plate.

This place rocks: peace, quality healthy food, friendship, and an amazing Wine offering!!!

By ANYPLACEISGOOD |

The Vino Volo at DFW airport, gate A17, is an amazing place. I am so glad that this place exists: the staff is so friendly, so caring, so loving, they know so much about wines, they make you feel so well, wow, there is no other place at DFW that is any close. I always wished to be waiting a flight on a relaxed, balanced place, with no hurries, no amateurism, no gigantic unhealthy dishes, .... Vino Volo is a great experience. They have this loyalty program that allows you to have a bite for free and a zip of wine , top quality, that makes you feel like the real guest in the airport. If Vino Volo did not exist, someone should invent it. Thank you very much guys for doing such an outstanding job every time that I am blessed with visiting you.

Great find at DFW

By DCGuy2013 |

Finding Vino Volo at DFW was a pleasant surprise for a three hour layover. Staff was welcoming and knowledgable. There's a good selection of food to complement the wine selections. Prices are fair for an airport location with this ambiance and service. Definitely recommend that you find Vino Volo at DFW.

Great place to kill time if your flight is delayed

By too_few_trips_1 |

I like this chain and have visited several of their locations. One location isn't that distinct from the next. On my most recent visit, in Dallas, I had the pinot noir tasting. I very much enjoyed one of the three and liked a second one -- probably not a bad batting average. Light food is available to accompany the wines.

Great place to escape at the airport

By Zamigaos |

There are times when you just need a place to escape from fussy children, fighting spouses and loud business folks on their phones (and since I am a mom, a wife and travel for work...I know of what I speak!) I was traveling through DFW and missed a flight to Austin so had nearly three hours prior to the next flight. I was looking for a place to get a glass of wine, charge my phone and relax a bit. Vino Volo was perfect. Lots of small tables with charging outlets available. Staff is great if you want suggestions. I did the Christmas cab flight - a good pour for a flight and just enough with three tastes and a cheese board. I was able to put on headphones, do a bit of work and relax. I will definitely keep this in mind if I find myself in Terminal A and a couple of hours to kill.

A Very Expensive Habit

By Dr. A. Luciano Stroia |

Notwithstanding the fact that it remains one of my favorite stops regardless of location, the title says it all. It is difficult for me to comprehend what other reviewers mean by "the prices are totally reasonable". The prices are insane, unless you're part a a very privileged crowd enjoying resources that the immense majority of us do not. I'm not trying to complain. Despite the rating, I don't want you to think this is a negative review. I'm a member of the Vino Volo Club and I have brought this to the attention of the patrons. I understand very well that real estate inside an airport can go very steep, when prices are concerned. The wine selection as well as food is excellent, no matter how limited. So, once again, I will continue to support the establishment even if, many times, a glass costs more than an entire bottle (retail).

Great place to go in the airport

By Michael C |

The concept of Vino Vollo is that during your layover at the airport you can do a wine tasting a grab a bowl of pasta, sandwich or dessert. You can select tastings in groups of three for about $15 to $18 dollars and if you really like one of the wines that you've tasted you can buy a bottle or two packaged carry- on to the aircraft! A great way to shop for wine! The Oregan Appolini Vineyards Pinot Noir is terrific! You get a card that gives you all the info you need in the selection process. There are 34 Vino Vollos in airports around the country including DFW and John Wayne in OC California.

Not the end of the world its a Destination!

By Hobietim |

Seemingly at the end of the world with DFW A concourse construction this is a destination. Classic VV pairings with scrumptious edibles, go enjoy. TIP, You can walk here as well as taking the train, all four A, b, C, D join at the ir nearest corners with walkways that dont take you too long, if you ahve an hour stretch your legs and enjoy several flites before your flight!

"from left to right"

By chefCreg |

This is an excellent place to pass an hour at DFW Terminal A. The map on tripavisor shows the location at Dallas Love Field, It's not.! DFW is not DAL. My friend and I were departing on AA flights near the A17, the gate location of Vino Volo. She loves dry cabernet wine and coincidentally I do too. I'm not a wine collector, or an expert taster, but I lived in California wine country, and I should know what good wine taste like. We ordered 2 samplers of cabernet. I was very impressed at the clever way they display their wine for tasting. The wine glasses are perfectly balanced, easy to handle, and very thin and clear. The server only had to gave us one little instruction. "Start from the left to right". Important instructions, when selling wine to amateur tasters. I would agree with the other reviews... all good.

Great food and wine at DFW terminal A

By Joni P |

Had I known about this place ahead of time I could have saved myself the money buying a sando at Starbucks! Wine and appetizers before my flight! Perfect! And they have a good selection of wine. Very cool to find this at the airport. It's after security so you can even buy a bottle for the road! Gotta love Texas!!

Nice Stop during Layover

By HappycuriousWanderer |

This is the second Vino Volo location I've visited and it was perfect for my layover. I had braised pork tacos and deviled eggs with the Makara Sauvignon blanc. The food was good and the wine was delicious. I would definitely stop here again.

Disappointing experience

By Rich_Sandy |

We recently stopped here for a bite to eat while waiting to make a connection to another flight. We had enjoyed this place a year earlier and hoped to make it back to it. The waitress advised us that the chicken salad that we ordered was too small to share --- that it was only "tapas" size. She was quite wrong. It wasn't a huge plate, but nevertheless easily shared with satisfaction. But when we asked for some bread with our order, we had to wait more than another 20 minutes before it came --- despite repeated requests for it. The waitress was busy, but this was ridiculously unacceptable as service. Our recommendation is: try somewhere else if you want to enjoy the experience.

Relax and enjoy!

A long layover was made delightful with Vino Volo. They offer many interesting wine-tasting flights, wines by the glass, or by the bottle ( a $12 corking fee does apply). The food selections were great; kale and chicken salad, olives, charcuterie board, chocolate lava cake....what is not to love?

Adult Snack Time

Great way to try different wines. And love the cheese and meat board. Perfect size for a light snack. Everything delicious. Great venue. Quiet and comfortable.

Interesting concept

By KatieE |

We visited Vino Volo whilst waiting for our flight. The concept of tasting small trios of wines is a good one, however, didn’t quite live up to my expectations. The bar overall was clean, and the bartender friendly and enthusiastic. Always a good sign when someone enthuses about what they do. Where for me overall things could be improved is in the quality of the glassware that the drinks are served in, and as an avid fan of good quality red wine, the drinking receptacle is as important as the actual drink itself. The overall experience was ok, and would certainly choose another establishment to have a drink and await a flight if I was in the same airport again.

Watch out for the cost of specials...

By truecooks |

We're big fans of Vino Volo and have visited them at other airports. We were thrilled to see that there is one at DFW as we had a 4 hour layover. The menu is the same as at other locations and it complements the wine list perfectly. It's refreshing to be able to order half portions of most of the dishes and sandwiches. That said, we were offered a taste of a wine that was on special at the rate of $2 per taste because we have the Vino Volo app. It was excellent so I ordered a glass. When it was time to reorder, my husband and I were both going to have one but thankfully my husband asked how much it was per glass. $28. Yes, $28. $2 for a taste and no glass price posted anywhere nor were we informed by the server until we asked. Of course I should have asked sooner but there's no way I assumed that the cost of my glass of wine was going to cost nearly the same as some of the bottles on the wine list. I'd like to suggest that Vino Volo be more transparent about the pricing on its wine specials. Next time I'll know to ask and I want to be sure that other patrons do too. I'm giving a poor rating because of the duplicity. Regular menu and wine list are all good, and I'm sure I'll be visiting other locations in the future.

Layover libations

By Damian A |

What could one ask for on there layover than to have a wine bar directly across from there gate heading home. It was like a sign from above, so we indulged. We did the samplings and the cheese platter. Perfect.

Very Nice Way to Spend Unplanned Layover

By Maureen M |

On a recent business trip I found myself on an unexpected layover at Dallas-Fort Worth international international airport. Thank you maintenance problems and bad weather! Lucky for me my departure gate situated across the way from this place. It's a great concept to have in an airport it invites you to order wine flights which gives you a nice sampling of wines to taste. If you like one of the wines you sampled they have them there for purchase. Vino Volo also has a nice menu with sandwiches and other lite fare. I had the cheese plate to go along with my champagne tasting flight. The cheese plate came with all the usual accompaniments. This place is definitely a calm respite from the hustle and bustle of the airport and a great place to soothe frayed travel nerves and frustrations.

Glad they an outpost in DFW

By too_few_trips_1 |

I've had the pleasure of visiting this chain in other airports and am very pleased that they are now at DFW. The wine flights are well curated. It you have time between flights, Vino Volo is well worth a visit.

Best place to wait for your flight!

By Travellover6128 |

What else do you need when waiting for your flight but a great wine selection and some tasty nibbles! We were really impressed with the wine selection - also a great selection of prices. Something for all budgets
