60 years is a long time to be married and our kids decided to host a family gathering (celebration() for eight of us at Violet. It was exceptionally nice. We sat in the patio area in a small alcove area that was perfect for our size group. Holly and her team of helpers provided exceptional service. The ambiance was outstanding. Heat lamp kept us all warm. They served a set dinner menu that included Champignons a L'Antoine's......Antoine did his job well.....delicious. The Caesar salad that followed was made made with endive, crispy parmesan country garlic croutons (loved it). They served Troll King Salmon and prime Hanger Steak (least favorite for me) with wonderful fried potatoes and delicious vegetables......all served in classy family type style. Topped off with a Chocolate Mousse. A wonderful celebration and dinner. Expensive (not for the two of us!!!). If you ask my kids I think they would say it was quite expensive......once in awhile they treat the old folks.

The food is exceptional as well as a reasonable wine selection. Service is on point and the ambiance is unexpected. Take a moment and reward yourself with this experience.

Wow...a great new place- a Covid Escape! Friends told us to go and so glad we did.Food was amazing-we had an out of this world Burger and delicious Roasted Cauliflower. Resisted the fries and deserts which looked awesome. We sat in a delightful courtyard and the service was excellent! Can't wait to go back.

A friend told us about this spot and we had to check it out. Incredible food, great vibes and atmospher and excellent service. I highly recommend Violet Bistro!!

Tried Violet for the first time and enjoyed our experience. Hostess (owner?) was very warm in greeting us. We had Violet Caesar Salad (excellent), one quiche, one shared glass of pinot noir and duck confit. I particularly enjoyed the confit Cost including tip was $117.29 for the two of us.........expensive, but worthwhile for the quality of the food, service and ambiance. The other couple enjoyed their selections also.

The ambiance is very special; quaint, cozy and hip. Small open kitchen visible from the patio. Service is excellent. Food is above average. We started with Olive and Mushroom Confit which we enjoyed. Main courses:Chicken, Steak Frites & Plantburger. Everything cooked to perfection however, I would have like a more enhanced flavor to the steak. Definitely recommend and will suggest making advance reservations.

Currently the best French Bistro on the West Side. Solid French menu. Very charming atmosphere in a beautifully remodeled space, and very warm staff including the owner. Not pretentious. Great food and service. A little pricey but worth it. Standout is the cauliflower of all things. Cooking school as well. A real dining experience.

The food is always delicious and beautifully presented. The restaurant has a comfortable ambiance. Always eat here when visiting LA. On one visit I attended an event at there separate cooking school that also serves as a small event space.

Charming French Bistro in the heart of Westwood. We had a very nice dinner inside the Bistro as the patio was fully booked. We enjoyed the creative cocktails and moved on to the ceasar salad and onion soup. The half chicken cooked French style was delicious as was the smashed burger and we enjoyed sharing the cheesecake with well done coffees at the end. Glad this Bistro has found a home in Westwood.

We were taken here for dinner by friends who live nearby. We were a party of 8 so were upstairs which was a little gloomy and meant we missed the lively vibe in the main restaurant. Food was good and service excellent but the menu was a bit confusing - some plates were for sharing, others weren’t but it wasn’t clear, and many of the items were more lunch dishes than evening meals. But overall a pleasant experience

FANTASTIQUE.... I felt like being back in Europe. The decor, the food the service everything was a 10...... I regret not having gone sooner because of it location....

Decor, service and food an an absolute 10. The owner at the front door overseas everything which is very important in a restaurant. The staff could not be friendlier. I absolutely love the decor and the food is very very good.

Lovely building, charming ambiance, good food and service. Indoors , outdoors, upstairs or downstairs you can't go wrong w/your table assignment. Our waiter was also the bartender that evening so needed to wave him down a couple of times. The cocktails a nice assortment at $17. a pop. The onion soup not salty which often happens in other places. My husband loved the crab cakes. Shared the delicious pepper steak as more than enough for two if both begin the meal w/a good size appetizer. My only complaint was the $11.00 charge for a small baguette and butter! Truly think that should be changed.

Very warm welcome, very pleasant setting. refined cuisine. reasonable price quality. scallops in divine white butter and succulent half chicken, and real fries, and finally a sublime vanilla caramel ice cream. all served with a smile and as a bonus in French. To recommend

Delightful little place with great food! It’s a very instagram-able place, so you’ll see people with their selfie camera lighting and such. Overall I really enjoyed my visit. It’s a great idea to order a bunch of plates and share with friends.

This Bistro is located in one of the most charming buildings in original Westwood Village. It has a perfect patio for eating. The warm evenings help too! We ate some of everything from appetizer to dessert. All was delicious.

A special place- Very romantic french setting upstairs and down- see through kitchen, wonderful waiter and fine food and cocktails. We had a terrific time. We started with excellent coctails- I had the Violet Spritzer which was actually beautiful- violet colored of course with bright sprigs of mint and very easy down. Everyone loved their coctails here. The mushroom appetizer was gorgeous and the onion soup was earthy and had a crunchy bread at the bottom that added sensation and taste to an already well done classic french soup. I had the chicken which was very good- but the star of the table was the flank steak- magnifique- we all ket stealing it off of our friend;s plate The salmon was good, and the burgers got thumbs up. The chocolate cake needs four people to finish it- its that rich. The cheese cake was of the New York lineage- and very good. I had the afogato and I was happy. Our waiter was cheery, helpful and fun- we loved having dinner with him. All in all, while we were not there with our partners, we enjoyed the romantic abience and it made us long for France. I hope to come back next time I am with my husband and put this place to use as a romantic foodie destination. PS liked the Beaujolais by the glass, a lot.

We had a lovely dinning experience. This is not the place to go for a cheap meal, but it is exactly what you want for a high end sit down dinning. The food, atmosphere and service were excellent.
Lovely ambience, disappointing food
We love French cuisine and had high hopes, but left disappointed. The courtyard was lovely and the service attentive, but the food fell flat. Champignons à l’Antoine tasted processed and smothered in breadcrumbs, the loup de mer was overcooked and drowned in a ketchup-like sauce, and the menu was both limited and overpriced for the quality of cooking. Long waits between courses only added to the frustration. Beautiful setting, but not a place to return.
