Beautiful patio with heaters, wonderful sweet plate with delicious home baked breads and almond cake, WONDERFUL attentive service by Joseph!!! Highly recommend this wonderful dining experience, even just for treats and cocktails, right across from San Diego cruise Broadway pier!

You may easily have a drink at the beautiful bar and have dinner next to it, enjoying the view over the harbor and the city. I recommend the fabulous Roasted Steelhead fish, crunchy and soft inside! A real treat! A great chef!

UPGRADED TO FIVE STARS, with pleasure!!! Since my last review, almost 5 months ago, which I detailed my reasoning for 3 Stars, I have returned to Vistal twice more. Both experiences were most positive, and nothing at all like what I experienced during last summer. Reception greeting by Reyna at the host stand was warm and genuine, and heightened my positive expectations for the evening ahead. Service by Brittany was most attentive, helpful and professional, without being over-bearing. And of course, the food was delicious, as I had experienced and commented on in the past. These last two positive experiences, and the positive reactions by my dinner companions, have me looking forward to return.

At Vistal everything was tasty. The view was beautiful. The server was professional and attentive and had great suggestions.

We were staying at the Intercontinental and had to pay $30 plus taxes ($34.02 per day with taxes and fees, if I got them all?), but we receive a $15 credit toward the restaurant or the mini-bar as one of the perks!!. We all know about mini-bar prices so I didn't even consider using my credit there. We stayed 4 nights so I got $60 in credits for the rip-off resort fee. I have status with IHG and receive internet and such anyway and to charge for pool access and other items is nothing more than highway robbery. I also get $20 per stay for my Ambassador status so I had $80 to spend. I had breakfast the morning I was going to the zoo since the Club lounge doesn't open until 8 am, but we wanted to get an early start so we could be at the zoo when it opened. That was $44 with tip, and the tip wasn't reimbursed on my hotel portfolio, just the $44 less the tip??? I didn't realize this until after check out! We spent just over $36 for lunch the last day. Lunch is different because you order at the bar, receive a number, and then wait at a table. For those orders, a 15% tip is included in the bill so I didn't leave any additional tip. Be warned and don't double tip! I double checked my breakfast receipt to verify that tip was not included, but technically with the really high prices for the small portions (one piece of toast, for example), one could assume tip was included. The sad thing is the wait staff deserved the money but probably received very little! Breakfast was tasty, and I did request sausage in the lounge the next morning because they only had the Applewood bacon, which I also enjoyed. They only had two types of bread available in the hotel: Sadie Rose ciabatta or sourdough toast-no whole wheat, nothing else! I did receive sourdough toast in the lounge the last 2 days as well because they only had bagels and a few hard muffins in the lounge. The limited food in the Club Lounge was due mostly in part to the limited food at Vistals; the good was the I didn't have to pay any more when they brought it to the lounge. The restaurant should be packed because of this $15 a day partial rebate of the amenity fee that each room incurs, but I think most just choose to forfeit it since it is mostly empty! Some do drink their $15 worth as there are a few enjoying libations on the bar side of the outdoor terrace. If it weren't for the credit that I had to use or lose, I wouldn't set foot in Vistals. Food was the most overpriced in San Diego and not that great anyway. The servers did a decent job and kept my water refilled. Coffee was $5, but I could get that in the lounge anytime! I know that part of the reason the hotel charges the outrageous fee is to provide an incentive for guests to dine at Vistals, but I think in the long run, it just turns out to be extra easy profit for the hotel and less for the deserving staff!!!

Had drinks here twice in a weekend, the first time was better, a nice night for drinks and an appetizer. The second night we received drinks and no one came by again. It wasn’t as busy as the night before, so I don’t think that was the issue. Just felt inconsistent.

We stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel and decided to enjoy a light dinner at the bar. My wife had fish tacos and I had the tuna bowl. The bartender recommended the seafood and we were not disappointed. The fish was fresh, tasty and very well prepared. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. We would definitely recommend dining here.

My boyfriend and I decided to stay at Intercontinental since it was open couple of months ago. The first morning we came down for breakfast. The hostess wasn't very friendly but sat as down pretty quickly. One of the orders came wrong. The server didn't check on as at all since the breakfast was towards the end. His name was Diego. The next day we decided to have breakfast again just because it is convenient for us. We had to wait 15 minutes to be sat, because non of the tables was clean. We asked the host to sit us outside but she said the tables are dirty with no estimate time to be cleaned.. Three more tables were sat a little after. Unfortunately for us and fortunate for the 9ther tables they got serviced first. Our server Mia didn't even apologize for coming late to the table. We had to ask for sugar and salt, because they didn't had it on the table either. Both days we had to ask to give us water, it was an extra that they don't offer as a normal restaurant. One star for the restaurant because the food is good.

We thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks while enjoying the views of the San Diego Bay. Staff was very friendly and gave great suggestions. We told the bartender our preferred booze, flavors, etc and they kept crafting different surprise cocktails each round. All the food was good but I enjoyed my Wagyu Beef Burger and Fries the most. Patty was very juicy and flavorful. Table seating, bar seating, or deck tables all provide great views of the San Diego Bay. Highly recommend!

Great place to start the day with coffee and breakfast out on the patio. Great views of the USS Midway and the bay. Whether you are sitting outside or inside the staff is friendly and attentive.

Very good choice for breakfast, the food was very delicious and the service was excellent. With a beautiful view of the bay.

Simply fantastic! David the waiter was fantastic! Food was divine! Sunset, to die for! My husband and I were walking the pier and watching the sun get ready to set. We found a bench and thought, dinner with this view would be wonderful. We look up and see a balcony restaurant and stop in to see if there was room for 2 more. They were fantastic! Made us comfortable in a little lounge corner with some wine and fabulous service and as soon as a balcony table was available we had the best dinner on our vacation! I had the chef special which was a local fish and it was fantastic! My husband had the duck and ate every bite! I highly recommend this spot. If you can make reservations as I can see where it could fill up fast!!!

we ate there a couple of times and always enjoyed the friendliness of the team. Food options were good and drinks selection satisfying. Prices were slightly higher than anticipated, but the team was very much trying their best in a new environment

We spotted this hidden gem during a walk along the harbor and so glad we did! Even though we arrived in between lunch and dinner, the cocktails, atmosphere, and service were all that we needed to post this rave review. The SoCal Sour and Passion Tea Collins mixed up and served by our bartender, Nick, were out of this world delicious and almost too pretty to drink (but of course we did) while the lounge areas on the third floor patio are cozy and perfectly situated for prime people watching below or just melting into. Being an afternoon it wasn’t overly crowded but by the time we finished our second round the bar began to fill and we decided to continue on with our downtown adventure. All in all, an awesome time, and with multiple fire pits and heat lamps, we’ll certainly be back to check out the scene at night!

Went here for lunch and everyone really enjoyed their meals. It's located on the 3rd floor of the new Intercontinental Hotel with fantastic views of San Diego Harbor and Point Loma. I don't even know how my coworker knew the restaurant was there because I've never seen any signage for Vistal from outside the hotel (although I had noticed the balcony), but I'm glad he knew about it. It opened in the fall, so everything is very nice and new and it has a good layout. There's also a full bar in the restaurant which looks like it would be a great place to hang out -- especially if you time it right to catch the gorgeous sunset. There is also outdoor seating available. I had the "black kale" salad with added grilled salmon and it was unique and very good (it had farro, papaya, avocado, cashews, etc.). Several people had the cob salad and they loved it. Someone else had a cod sandwich and was impressed with it. Also, it was not at all busy -- likely due to the fact that it's basically hidden/not well-advertised. I look forward to my next visit.

Visiting for a technical certification and staying at Intercontinental on the bay. Beautiful new hotel! Ultra modern, breathtaking views of the bay!

I wanted to find something near the water and had seafood. I found this gem which I belive is part of the intercontinental hotel. Im usually hesitant with hotel food but this was soooooo good. I had an amazingggggg server. She was great with recommendations and very knowledgeable about the menu. I am weak with oysters. They were fabulous and fresh. Then I got the tuna steak with cabbage and a buerre blanc. It was heaven.

The view is fantastic! The bar staff was amazing, @Siyovush and @Daniel were hospitable, friendly, and knew how to make every drink we asked! Lovely happy hour!

Dinner at Vistal spared no attention to detail for your palate. All the dietary needs of the individuals at our table were catered to with no compromise to a satisfying meal.

My wife and I were invited to a birthday party the other night at Vistal and can't say enough about the experience. The sunset views from the deck were incredible, the private room was modern and airy, food was outstanding, and the service provided by our bartenders, Nick and Carlos, was first rate. They were very attentive to all the guests while serving tasty cocktail libations. The intercontinental is definitely on our list when looking to host our own event! Thank you again to the staff and bartenders that made this night not only possible, but absolutely memorable!

Brittany is FABULOUS! This hotel is great & right on the water. Stayed at the hotel a week ago. Planned to stay again, but weather caused us to take the red eye home. Great views, service & drinks. Brittany is so sweet & took superb care of us. Ask for Brittany!

I was a hotel guest. I went down for breakfast at 8am with my two little kids. The restaurant told me they had no tables for us, even as hotel guests, as they were waiting on reservations. So we got room service from the restaurant - the food was delivered not only cold but inedible and flavorless. I had to order seamless. Coffee also served cold from the bar. 0/10 for hotel service and food!

Mia is an excellent server. She went above and beyond and even gave us a list of things to do in San Diego. The view was incredible and drinks were top quality.

After fleeing an unsafe setting, we came back to our hotel dejected on our 22nd anniversary, unsure what to do & looked into Vistal. To our delight they welcomed us and invited us to eat on the beautiful terrace after placing an order at the bar. We had a pizza (which was what my spouse was craving anyway), a waygu cheeseburger, deviled eggs, a cheesecake for dessert and copious amounts of alcohol. Everything was delicious, and the setting was romantic as we watched the sun set from the terrace remembering our many ears together. Lots of social-distancing was observed and mask-wearing and hand hygiene & we felt totally safe! Thank you to the staff of Vistal, the Hotel Intercontinental and my friend, the GM Chuck Abbott, for a great anniversary !!

Flashy looks but awful seafood cocktail! We ordered two Mexican seafood cocktails based on the nice description in the menu. The dish was a huge disappointment and made both of us sick to our stomachs. The seafood cocktail included large prawns that had been sliced lengthwise but obviously had not been cooked. They were floppy yet required knives to cut their elastic-like texture. They did not resemble anything like Mexican ceviche. Worse...the menu did not mention that it had any raw seafood!!! My partner was hardly able to eat any of hers. I ate half of mine. We both got sick to our stomachs within about 3 hours. Waiters asked if everything was okay ... we said no, asked them to take the uneaten meals away and yet there was no reaction from the either waiter. We were disgusted when we left...even before we got sick. We also had to turn away taro chips that came with the seafood because they were absolutely foul from rancid oil. They were awful. Instead they brought us tortilla chips and some pico de gallo. The pico de gallo was fresh and nice but the tortilla chips were a big step down from what you would expect from a decent Mexican restaurant. Overall this was a huge disappointment and I cannot recommend this restaurant at all.

Was in for just dessert. Alejandro went well above printed dessert menu. Made some suggestions. Great desserts, moccachino and service.

nice deck, nice restaurant, very friendly staff, and an extremely good chef. a slight hiccup - limited choice of menu, especially for vegetarians. But talk to the chef , and they will be able to customize the dish for you, the way you want it.

Friendly bartenders , nice beer selection( Ichose an Alesmith Nut Brown) and the Tuna Poke Katosan which was very very good made for a surprise enjoyable meal in this great hotel restaurant and bar!

We were very disappointed with this restaurant. Inside the new Intercontinental in San Diego, it felt like we waited forever for food and there were barely any other customers. The drinks during dinner were average. We asked if we could sit outside and we were told that the tables were set up (despite obviously being able to directly see others enjoying the outside deck). Compared with other awesome options in Gaslamp and Little Italy, would caution on wasting precious time at this overpriced joint.

One of the nicest hotel bars in San Diego, very good selection of cocktails, draft beer and very good happy hour eats. The view is magnificent,

We ate here whilst staying at the hotel. The outside terrace is great, with views over the bay. The cocktails and day menu are great and then for breakfast there was a really good choice.

I recently visited the intercontinental for a conference and frequented Vistal. Enjoyed the live music and gin cocktails during happy hour. Lastly I wanted to give a special shotout to our server Katie. She was funny and accommodating throughout the evening. She also gave great food recommendations and was really spot on with her flavor descriptions. Bravo vistal.

Our selection of gluten free restaurants was somewhat limited until we dropped in to the Vistal. A server came to the desk to explain that 90% of the items were or could be made GF. We returned later in the evening and was seated promptly. Our server Brittany explained all the options and refereed to the kitchen when there were questions. What impressed us most was the hand-ff to Carlos when Brittany went on break. The food was fantastic and the views out to the harbor were an added bonus. Upon leaving we were greated by the food manager, Jose Velazques. Very nice to see this restaurant thought it important enough to request positive and negative feed back. Left us with a very positive experience.

Whenever our organization is in San Diego we always choose the Vistal restaurant at the Intercontinental San Diego - from the service to the food, everything is always absolutely perfect. An added bonus is the beautiful setting both indoors and out. Definitely a great option for business networking dinners!

We flew down to San Diego from Sacramento and arrived after lunch on New Year's Eve. While waiting to check into our hotel across the street (Residence Inn Bayfront), we had lunch here. The entire staff seemed very busy preparing and decorating for the evening celebration and weren't too interested in attending to us. We were seated at a table where the floor was covered with food everywhere (looked like a small child had sat there last). There was so much food under my feet, I moved to another chair at the table. The views were very nice as others have noticed. Although the restaurant was completely empty, we weren't offered a table near the windows. So the service was just ok, and the food was just ok too. I had a salad that was good. My husband had a pannini sandwich and fries that were made out of polenta (or something similar). His meal was also good, but not exceptional. We stayed in San Diego for a week, but didn't make an effort to return here.

My wife, daughter, and I visited Vistal (for the second time), while sightseeing in the harbor area. Our cocktails (regular and espresso Martinis and an El Padre) were well-made and promptly served with good appetizers such as crab toast. The interior of the bar is well- decorated, but try to sit near the windows for great second-floor views of the harbor area.

We went once for drinks outdoors for happy hour. Beautiful view and very creative drinks with a gin focus. We came back for restaurant week. It was a great value and we both loved our choices for dinner. Katie really knew the menu and offered honest opinions and timely service that made the entire evening wonderful.

Wow. The view is spectacular. On the 3rd floor of the new Intercontinental Hotel. The food delicious. We wen for our 20th anniversary dinner. The beet salad with burrata was fantastic. I had pork cheeks that were melt in your mouth. My hubbie had the NY strip which was delicious. Our waiter Antonio was attentive and delightful. A lovely, romantic evening.

As we were staying in the hotel for 7 nights we decided to have dinner in the restaurant for the first evening after arriving. Wrong decision! The food is typical hotel food, the servers have no clue what they are doing, only my third pick of wine was available (after 20 minutes) and the prices charged were outrages. However we tried the following day again for breakfast, same thing. Rest of the week we went out, this is also the best advise I can give you.

Vistal has the best two egg breakfast! The ingredients are fresh and local, unbelievably good! The entire menu is fantastic as well. The atmosphere and team members make the restaurant very comfortable and enjoyable. Everyone that’s been with the restaurant since opening is kind and friendly! A special shout out to Shirin, Diego, Yves, and Joseph!

Food was amazing customer service was extraordinary. Alejandro Q was our server he went above and beyond. Ask for him he is super attentive and profesional. The restaurant is super clean with fast service and a killer view. Over all in love with this place and will be back hungry for more.

We went for celebratory drinks and the whole experience took the air right out of our celebration! Our waitress started out stellar but then things went south and deteriorated from there. They were out of non-alc beer, so my husband ordered a Virgin-Mary and after 30 minutes we still hadn't received his drink. Other tables were receiving food and drinks which were ordered long after we placed our order. We asked another waiter if our server was still on duty and he said he was happy to retake our order. Our server appeared and said the bartender made a mistake and made a Margarita instead. At that point we just said to cancel the order She then brought the virgin Margarita and the Virgin Mary (both of which were on the house) but her demeanor changed like this whole thing was somehow our fault. We also had ordered a flatbread which never materialized, even though she brought the plates and utensils. Then the check shows up with just my wine on it and nothing else, we hadn't asked for the check and were quite surprised when she brought it. Not a great first impression at all. We live very close to Vistal and thought it would be a great new place to wander to for cocktails, but not so sure now.

We stayed at the hotel and were happy to receive a daily food and bev credit. Vistal is a great place to go! We initially sat outside but it was surprisingly cold and windy so we moved inside — the staff was very accomodating. The drinks are solid and the views of downtown San Diego and the waterfront are excellent. Would be curious to see if the food is just as good as well.

Great views and a great appetizer menu with and excellent wine and spirits selection with excellent service

Stayed at the hotel. Made the mistake of waiting until the end of my stay to eat in the restaurant. I had three meals and one order of room service from Vishal. The atmosphere, the food, and the servers are exceptional. The socal eggs benedict is worthy of the Myers lemon mention in the description. The poached eggs were perfect, even when added to the avocado toast. I ordered oatmeal from room service. Large portion and all of the sides, including the portion of fresh fruit and granola were generous. The coffee was very good. They have wonderful focaccia bread. The hosts and the servers smiled and seems genuinely happy to be at work.

I came in for brunch a couple of Fridays ago and had the pleasure of having Diego as my server. I had the Benedict and a cappuccino to start off my day, both of which were fantastic! Eric then made me a fabulous mimosa. By the end of my visit I was pleasantly full and in a great mood! Thank you guys for a wonderful experience.

Beautiful view of the San Diego Harbor. Service was rather slow or non-existent. I came in for brunch not many people seated yet had to wait for water. Waitress Reyna finally popped over “meh” attitude, took my simple order, parfait which they served with out a SPOON… sat at my table for 15 min for someone to come over and ask me if I needed anything else, finally stopped a busser and asked for a spoon and he brought one and sat it on the table. (Outside birds walk on the tables). 20 more minutes and Reyna finally comes and ask if everything was okay????? CHECK PLEASE!

Quality drinks, great bartenders. A very very nice view. Ocean view. You can see the USS Midway from the place.

The citrus-cured steelhead tartine was a feast for the eyes and taste buds. Side of twice cooked potato wedges were perfectly salty and crisp on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. Superior meal was matched by superior service from hostess Shirin, and manager who offered his favorite dessert, off-menu.

When you arrive there are separate elevators on the outside of the building to take you to the restaurant so you do not need to go through the lobby of the hotel. The view over the ocean from the outside dining area is pleasant and can be seen even when seated. The staff really went out of its way to make sure everyone in our large group had everything they wanted. Everyone agreed the food was excellent, although it was not totally consistent. For example, they forgot to put avocados in one of the salads and the size of the salmon portions differed enough to be noticeable. No one really cared because the overall experience was outstanding. They even moved heaters around to be sure everyone was comfortable on a chilly evening.

A perfect San Diego Bay view sunset at Vistal. A must see for anyone visiting downtown San Diego. Our bartender, Nick, made excellent cocktails. I had the ‘Bubbles’ cocktail; blood orange and Champagne. Beautiful and delicious. We didn’t try the food this time but we will be back!

We were staying at the hotel and the restaurant read very well. Lovely views from the outside patio. Good looking bar. Great looking restaurant. Great sounding menu. The hostess at reception was always great. Sometimes getting seated took a while. Breakfast buffet was very good. Breakfast menu was excellent. Children’s menu was excellent. Service at breakfast was always good. Dinner was another story. Menu was very good. Food was nicely presented and good variety. Staff in the evening need to improve. Some are good, some can be a little disinterested and some need more attention to detail. Christy (with red hair) and Staci, breakfast staff were excellent. Love the Wiki Stix for children.

4 colleagues from around the world that were serving as planning chairs for a large meeting at the Convention Center met at Vistal. It was perfect. The setting was casual and fun, the view spectacular and the food (several different dishes that were shared) was excellent. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Prices were what I would expect for a hotel restaurant in SD. I like to explore when I travel, but this is a restaurant I would definitely return to- particularly for a reliable meeting place. As an aside, I accidentally left a gag gift (pair of socks declaring me the coolest guy on our conference calls- very proud) and the staff rescued them from oblivion and left them at the hotel desk for me. Thank you!

Thank you Vistal Restaurant TEAM! SUPER shout out to our main Server Melanie and her assistant Efren. We felt EXTRA SPECIAL when the Birthday Dessert was brought out for me. It was a beautiful sunset dinner. Mahalo AGAIN! Kirk and Ginny

I came in last Friday for an early business meeting. I was happy with the ambience and food, but the great surprise was our server Diego. He was charming, polite, and extremely professional.

As hotel guests, we came down for a Saturday breakfast but without reservations, we were offered only seats in the bar area It was a decent table by the window but we had to place our own order with the bartender and to flag down staff for coffee refills. The food was decent but nothing special.

Vistal is the complete package - amazing food, a breathtaking view of the San Diego Bay and exceptional service. We dined here several times during our stay at the Intercontinental Hotel where the Vistal is located and one of the reasons we kept coming back was the top notch service from servers Mia, Jaz and Alejandro. They were so welcoming and attentive to all of our requests. Be sure to order the Crab Benedict entree, which is the standout choice on their breakfast/brunch menu.

We hit this up several times during our stay, including breakfast and cocktails. Views were great from the restaurant and pool deck.

We went here for breakfast on a recommendation for the food. We were staying in a nearby hotel; we had no idea that we would have such GREAT FOOD and excellent service. The next time we go to San Diego, we will stay at the Intercontinental. We were impressed all the way around. When we arrived there was no one at the host/hostess station. We waited a few minutes, then I approached one of the servers. He was very friendly; we asked if we could sit outside and he said sure. He also said he would get menus for us and let the hostess know as she was in the back getting coffee for someone. It was a little chilly with the breeze off the water so we put our windbreakers on. But what a view!!!! WOW, we hit the jackpot with our table. We could clearly see the water from where we were as well as attractions like the U.S.S. Midway Museum. Our server was at our table right away. He treated us like royalty for the whole time we were there. We started with coffee ($5 each) and cream, and the Sweet Bread Plate ($12), which included Almond Tea Cakes, gluten free pumpkin bread, banana nut bread, citrus curd, and whipped butter, along with fruit garnishes (kiwi, blueberries, and strawberries). OMG that was good! The Almond Tea Cakes were out of this world good! Everything was good. The coffee was rich and mellow and we got several refills while we enjoyed ourselves. My husband ordered the Smoked Short Rib and Brussels Sprout Hash ($15), which included crispy shallots, horseradish crema and sunny side eggs. I ordered the Pork Barbacoa Eggs Benedict ($15), which included avocado, charred onion, masa cakes, and chimichurri hollandaise. We could have easily split one of the entrees! They were HUGE! And loaded with meat. We could not believe the amount of short rib meat in my husband's breakfast. And GOOD... I would like to have this breakfast as a lunch after I've been working all morning! All of it was fantastic. This is a terrific restaurant. We had wanted to come back for cocktails but ran out of time with everything we wanted to do. We will definitely be back!

The all new breakfast buffet is a must for everyone who values healthy food and delicious recipes. The price of $33 per adult is very reasonable, given the fact that all products are fresh and of high quality. Our server Diego was very attentive and polite and made the whole experience even more rewarding.

Great food and views at this hotel restaurant. Great, creative food. Went here later day for cocktails as well and they were pretty and delicious! Beautiful views!

Today my wife, daughter, and I stopped by Vistal for cocktails and appetizers before dinner. My bourbon cocktail, guacamole, and shrimp toast were excellent, and our server appropriately attentive.

Went to this fine establishment on Valentine’s Day and boy was I impressed!! The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, the service was great, the staff were inviting and most importantly the food was fantastic! I will definitely be visiting again.

I had the unfortunate experience of dining at this restaurant, and I must say it was nothing short of a disaster. The service was abysmal, with waitress, Chemy, seemingly indifferent to our presence. To make matters worse, not only did I have to endure the dreadful service and tasteless food, but the wine selection was equally disappointing. I'm not an expert, but even I could tell that the wine they served was subpar. Asked to change it and the server's response is "oh wow". We then ordered oysters, didn't come with a little spoon for the horseradish or for the vinegar. The salad was a sad mix of limp lettuce, a dressing that tasted like it came from a bottle, and an abundance of poorly prepared radicchio that added a bitter, unpleasant taste. It's astonishing how they managed to ruin such a classic salad. Inedible and a complete waste of money. I almost forgot to mention the fries - they were a disaster too. They arrived at our table cold and drenched in an excessive amount of salt. I understand that some people like their fries salty, but this was beyond excessive. It felt like they were trying to cover up the fact that the fries were stale and had been sitting around for ages. Cold, salty, and stale - a trifecta of disappointment. This restaurant clearly has no idea how to prepare even the simplest of dishes. To top it all off, our waitress, Chemy, had a horrible attitude. She seemed annoyed by our presence from the moment we sat down and was incredibly rude throughout the meal. It was as if she resented having to do her job and serve customers. Her lack of professionalism and hospitality only added to the overall terrible experience. I wouldn't wish this restaurant's service on anyone.

Booked through Open Table and selected outdoors. It did say due to Covid that there was counter service and you enjoy your food at your reserved table. Not what I expect in a 5 star hotel, but OK. Instead, we were told you order at the bar and then go to one of the reserved tables they are marked outside. We looked outside and there were NO available dining tables. One large group gathered most of the chairs around one table and had one end of the small patio area. There was no where to sit and eat, so we had no choice but to leave even though we had a reservation. We were going to tell the person who checked us in and directed us to the bar, but she was nowhere to be found. Definitely will not be back. A major disappointment.
Not another ho-hum hotel restaurant
Vistal really made our stay at the Intercontinental wonderful. We booked the room/breakfast package and were lucky enough on our first day to have Christa as our server. My wife and I had an instant connection to her. She really brightens your morning. We requested to sit in her section all week long. Fun, sweet, infectious, genuine. By the last day, she’s running up to the hostess stand with a silly wave the whole time. She is a gem. How many times do you hug your server goodbye when your heading home later on? The whole team there seems so connected and dedicated to service. You have a great team there. The food is so good, too. The buffet in the morning is very good and comes with eggs any style. We also liked the Ham, Egg & Cheese Breakfast Croissant. I highly recommend the Snake River Wagyu Cheeseburger. OMG. We split one and both of us walked away full. Even if you are staying somewhere else, stop in for great food and great service.
