Super service!

By OregonFan36 |

Dinner here several times for both lunch and breakfast while staying at the Marriott. Wonderful, attentive service. They remembered me and greeted me by name. Enjoyed the All American and the Good Start breakfast options. Passed on the buffet, although it was a popular option. The Turkey Club sandwich was a generous portion. Highly recommend if staying at the Marriott.

Enjoyed Breakfast Here

By Rumples |

We stopped at this restaurant in the Marriott-Marquis Downtown for breakfast around 9:30 a.m. on a Saturday and had a most enjoyable experience, from the friendly greeting at the entrance to the cheery good-bye. In between, we had delicious meals and excellent, upbeat service. The bright, airy, modern room provided a lovely setting. Customers sat at only a few other tables during our visit. Though a buffet breakfast is offered here for $22, we opted to select off the menu and both chose oatmeal. This ample portion came with milk, raisins, brown sugar, one slice of toast, seasonal fruit, juice and Starbucks coffee or tea ($13). Our attentive server came over at one point to offer additional juice and hot drinks. When we finished, the bill arrived quickly and the manager stopped by to inquire about our visit and to chat. This is one of the friendliest places, where we have gone to eat worldwide. Interactions were not obtrusive in any way, just genuine Texas hospitality. Walker Street Kitchen is right across the street from the George R. Brown Convention Center.

Below average

By L B |

The breakfast value was lacking, the eggs had a funny taste and the avocado toast was heavily saturated with vinaigrette. Over priced!

Food was good. Service ok.

By Dotty W |

It took 35 minutes to get a hamburger, but another 10 min to get the fries that came with it. Weekday at noon, but only 5 full tables.

Good breakfast

By Clint C |

Running late one morning, we decided to eat a late breakfast at this restaurant while staying at the Marriott Marquis, where the restaurant is housed. We found the breakfast to be quite tasty and the service was good. It was a little pricey, but on par with most other restaurants in the area.

Slow service

By Caprice B |

We had brunch here on Sunday...nice atmosphere, food was good, but service and food timing was entirely too slow. We were not greeted by a wait staff person for 20 minutes after we sat down and then our food took 45 minutes. There was only about 5 tables in the entire restaurant.

Surprising find

By tequila7brew |

Thought this would be a run of a mill breakfast, but it was very charming and delicious. Great, calming music for the morning. Great selection on the buffett. Will def be back.

Great Company Dinner

By Mark S |

My company arranged for a private room for our group that was in town for a meeting. What a great call on this place. The room was very nice and large enough for us to roam around and talk without bing cramped and tripping over each other. The staff was great- very friendly and attentive. The pre-arranged meal choices were great and I chose the cauliflower "steak". It was a very large floret grilled and topped with a lentil goulash and cherry tomatoes and olives. It was delicious. Great place but I'm sure it did not come cheap.

Delicious Breakfast

By Autumn R |

Our room package included breakfast at the Walker Street Kitchen. We chose to partake in the buffet, which had a wonderful spread. They offer breakfast pastries, cereal, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, bacon, hash brown casserole, biscuits and gravy, fruit, yogurt, omelets and waffles. The food was wonderful, but a bit overpriced. The service was ok. I would eat here again, and would recommend booking a package that includes breakfast when booking at the Marriott Marquis Houston.

Best fish sandwich!

By Ann |

The fish-of-the-day sandwich was outstanding....grilled to perfection, lovely seasoning. With a side salad it was a great lunch. Once the wait staff got on the ball the service was ok. But it took a bit of time for the waiter to first come to the table.

Great breakfast with fantastic service

By Mike M |

Just finished a delicious breakfast made even better by great service from start to finish and welcoming, friendly staff (Tommy took great care of us)

Best place for breakfast

By Marion C |

Had breakfast here many morning with my family as we stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. The food was very good. Loved that we could order our omlette from ourserver and then go to the buffet for the rest. Very good value. Service was exceptional. We were lucky enough to have Lyndis a few times. Very good place to dine.

Delicious breakfast

By shrinkb |

Our family had breakfast here while staying at the Marriott. The $22 breakfast buffet was hearty and top notch, including omelettes, waffles, and pancakes made to order. The shrimp and grits were delicious. Nice atmosphere with a great view of all the action outside. Our kids wanted to eat there again the next day.

Good for breakfast. Not for supper.

By rimsky_kc |

While staying in the hotel in Houston, we ate breakfast one morning at the Walker Street and enjoyed the food and the experience. All was good. Unfortunately, we decided to try the same place for supper one evening. It was a whole different (and not satisfactory) experience. We should have left when we saw the limited menu (only 4 entree choices). The service was haphazard, the food was bland, the fish overcooked. Nothing was terrible, just all sub-par. And it cost us more than the other close-by exquisite choices.

Excellent service and great tasting food

By dtblades |

breakfast was excellent and staff very attentive. Breakfast I had was off the menu and there was lots to choose from, including a buffet if I had wanted it.

Did not even get to eat— no menu option today, even though it is listed on their site.

By trisqit |

I am giving this place a one star review because we didn’t even get to eat here. First off, when my friend and I go to the Astros game Sunday afternoons we like to try new lunch spots around the ballpark. Today we chose this place we looked ahead at the menu for lunch and everything looked yummy so we decided to make our reservation through OpenTable and go. We arrived at 11:45 AM and the hostess pretty much told us that the only thing they have is the breakfast buffet, no menu options at all today. I was like are you sure there’s no lunch menu. She reassured me. No menu options today only breakfast buffet. I added a picture where it has a breakfast menu, breakfast buffet, and lunch menu all at certain times When we went to look at the buffet, it was extremely small and we were afraid the food was sitting out for several hours. And the price was $35 per person. We opted to leave and instead went to saltgrass across the street, which was almost half the cost! I can’t recommend how the food taste here but beware if you go on a Sunday they may tell you you cannot order off a menu and must order the $35 buffet. Disappointed we did not get to try this place for lunch before our game!!

An okay breakfast...

By brad w |

We stayed at the Marriott Marquis and ate breakfast here twice. It was nothing special and in the Marriott Marquis fashion, it was too expensive; $22 per person for a breakfast buffet you would expect at the Hampton Inn. They do have the option of ordering from the menu, but it was even more expensive. If we stay here again, we’ll definitely find better and cheaper outside the hotel. I do want to give a shout out to our waiter Damien, he was awesome!

great breakfast buffet

By ElvisTaco |

you can choose from a large breakfast menu, but we had the buffet twice! If you have the buffet, the server will take an order for an omelet or pancakes, made to order in the open kitchen. Both were very good. Buffet had all the usual suspects, and was kept clean and well-presented. The smoked salmon, meats and cheeses and the abundant fresh fruit impressed us. Great coffee, with one to-go at the end of the meal. Service was friendly and efficient.

Simple but excellent

By Angus L |

Made a last minute decision to try this restaurant located inside the Marriott Marquis Houston hotel. Compare to other restaurants in the hotel, this one is quieter and more comfortable when you want to have a great conversation with companions. Reception was welcoming and friendly. Suggest to sit where the tables with standing chairs , not the couch. Lunch menu was simple, and they have lunch combo, which is to pick items for a fix price. Very attentive waiter and waitress. Food came out fast and delicious. Will definitely go back.

Great Service

By BJ C |

The front desk staff is very polite and we didn't have to wait long at all; I didn't get their names and I thank them now! Thank you Tommy and Igor for excellent service. We enjoyed the food from the buffet and also from the menu.

Great Breakfast by George R. Brown

By Jose Rizal Jr. |

We dropped by this place before going to GRB and I was surprised by the place. On a cool sunny morning, the place was sun drenched with a very homey feel. The eggs Benedict tasted great and presentation was excellent. I don’t usually pay attention to the sides but he hash browns we very creamy. I haven’t had hash browns that great in a while. The meal was a bit pricey, but it was worth it. Our waiter, Tom was excellent. Thank you.

Superb hearty breakfast!

By sraghura |

Super tasty, hearty spread with all the pancakes, waffles and omelets you can eat. The fresh honeycomb was a nice touch - It was a unique experience for sure! We had a breakfast inclusive rate at the hotel; otherwise it is 24$ a person (lesser for kids) but worth the money spent!

Awesome breakfast restaurant

By Joachim P |

Sumptious breakfast buffet that did not leave me disappointed. Also an extensive a la carte menu where the Eggs Benedict are well worth trying. Quick and friendly service and morning newspaper included.

Very Impressive

By VM H |

I cannot say enough about this restaurant. Located in the Marriott Marquis Houston, I ate here five out of the six days I was in town. I was very impressed that they sat me at 8:30, despite the 9:00 closing time. I ordered the shrimp Po'boy on Saturday for dinner. I was a bit concerned about the $16 price, but the sandwich was much larger than I had anticipated. It was actually too much for me to eat. I returned Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for breakfast. Each time I ordered the American breakfast. It comes with eggs, meat, hashbrowns, and bread; as well as unlimited coffee and juice. I believe that the price is $17. Everyone was so friendly, and the majority of the waitstaff was highly attentive. Bre, Marc, and Igor made my trips here especially enjoyable. I very rarely give out perfect scores, but I think that this may be my new favorite restaurant. Keep up the good work!

Ordered the Wrong Thing

By Jane S |

Ceviche Little frozen shrimp not fresh fish. My husband's omelette was good but it was a brunch menu at 12:30.

Awesome experience! Major shout out to Lyndis and Alexis :)

By Steph |

Massive props to Lyndis and Alexis, two staff members who made my stay at the attached hotel awesome. Came here for breakfast and to get my boss take out on my first morning here. Lyndis took care of me and although someone had been told no takeout from their restaurant, she made it happen. I was grateful and came back the next 2 mornings for my breakfast. They were so sweet, Alexis and Lyndis filled up my reusable water bottle on my way out of the hotel and on my last day there, I had missed breakfast- literally showed up at 11am, which they switch to their lunch menu, but Lyndis had the kitchen make an exception. They were both great to speak with and just really made the trip. All the love and appreciation. The food was all great as well and the prices were slightly high, but arguably the best priced restaurant in the whole hotel. The decor is elegant yet down to earth. Great natural lighting, quick service. Favourite place to grab food in the hotel- they can also charge it to your room if you'd rather that convenience. If I'm ever back in Houston and staying in the area, I'd definitely go back. Thanks again!

Expensive crappy food

By DTYoung2383 |

Not sure if it was because we got somewhat of a late start that morning, but we got there at around 9am. We all made our plates, but just by looking at the sausage, it looked like rubber. None of the food was very hot. The sticky buns were really good though. It was myself, wife, son and his friend eating, and when we got the bill, it was almost $70. Just seemed pricey considering how much the my 12 year old and his friend ate.

Great lunch

By Barry D |

There were nine of us for a business lunch. We started with some shared apps: including some very tasty brussel sprouts and the best Deviled Eggs I've ever had. Seriously, they were awesome, and topped with lots of bacon. I ordered the Moo Mi wrap, which is a spicy brisket sandwich. It was good, but not great. A couple of people ordered the the Turkey BLT and it was a huge sandwich that they very much enjoyed. Could have easily fed two people.

Incredible Service!

By cabpatch |

Very good food, but service that is unparalleled. Professional, attentive without being intrusive--a great addition to the hotel.

Good size portions

By Suzannetherealtor |

We ate here twice for breakfast because it was in the hotel. They have a buffet which we did not eat, we ordered off the menu. The breakfast plate was big enough to share with our kid. They aren't the fastest with service but nice. The hostesses were friendly and nice and tried to help. The food was good.

Breakfast / lunch

By JewelryTraveler |

Nice quality service and food great for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast buffet is great! Ordering from the menu is also very good

Nice but expensive breakfast buffet - if you are on business, then go for it

By stephrab |

The Restuarant offers and very nice breakfast buffet. Large large selection with plenty of vegetarian and low sugar and no gluten options. Staff works hard to keep the customers happy. Given the price however, this is an “average” hotel Restuarant. If you are staying in the hotel and need a quick meal and you are on a budget, then it will be good for you.

Very pleased with the food and service

By By_His_Grace |

We ate here twice for brunch. They had limited but adequate choices on the menu. We were very pleased with the quality, quantity, price and service of what we ordered both times

New Menu and Great Cocktails

By Kaymichelle |

Walker Street has started to offer dinner which just adds more to love from the already delicious menu. The cocktails are wonderful and the happy hour time keeps you enjoying them for hours :). Worth a stop in and seat to enjoy anything on the menu.

Average Hotel Restaurant

By Daniel G |

American Food. Average to good, but not very good. Only one server for the entire restaurant. Had a shrimp and oyster Po Boy and shrimp and grits. The Po Boy was good and large. The shrimp in the shrimp and grits were overcooked and rubbery.

Great breakfast

By Sean M |

Stayed at the marquis marrriott and enjoyed breakfast here everyday. Greeted by Chelsea who was charming and offered water and coffee. Arrived on a Friday morning and had the ala carte breakfast with a delicious olmet. The hash brown potatoes were spectacular, On weekends they add an olmet station and serve waffles and pancakes to order. Im a smoked salmon lover and they have a salmon station with whole grain mustard, capers, onions and lemons. Bagels and cream cheese can be found on the bread station. So, very little assembly required. My servers were Mel and Ismael who were very kind and helpful. The buffet has fresh fruit, crispy bacon, scrambled eggs, spicy sausage and delicious small pastries. Very highly recommended. Slainte

Breakfast buffet experience

By mudixon |

I came for their breakfast buffet ($22) which offers made-to-order omelets and the typical buffet breakfast items. Everything was excellent except for the milk in the mini cartons. Mine had completely soured (expiration date was 5 days away) which was surprising. The wait staff brought me a glass of milk and that was fine. $22 seems pricey for this breakfast, but staff was friendly.

Disappointed in hostess

By casauceda730 |

Very disappointed in service by the hostess at Walker Street Kitchen. While staying at the Houston Marriott Marquis, my family and I were looking forward to a nice breakfast. We provided our name to the hostess and she told us it was a 15 minute wait. I was surprised because it was not busy and there were multiple tables available. I received a text notification that we would we receive a text when our table was ready. 30 minutes later I asked the hostess how much longer the wait was going to be and she said “What’s your name?” When I told her she said, “oh, I had marked you off already.” Then she said, “I’ll take you to a table.” I found this very strange. The server was sweet and attentive. We ordered the buffet and the eggs were cold and undercooked. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Great food better service

By mheik01 |

Our waiter, Oscar, was very attentive and friendly. The menu was very small and didn't care for the peach salad. I'd go back if they expanded their menu.

Nice breakfast location

By triotrois |

Had breakfast one morning and enjoyed our experience. Seated promptly. Staff are very accommodating and friendly. Coffee and avocado toast. Lovely. Surprised by the dry crunchy mushrooms but it added an unusual crunch. Flavors were great for me my friend thought it was a little heavy on the truffle oil. We even were provided with a drink to go as we left. Very nice green tea. The place was empty when we went at 7 am but was filling up when we were leaving. An enjoyable breakfast.

Breakfast

By Amy L |

Ate here the last morning I stayed at the Marriott Marquis. First, I love the decor. It is such a homey feel. The white & wood is a perfect combination. Even the buffet setup looks like you are in a friend's kitchen. Great atmosphere! My friend had an omelette that looked great. I had the migas tacos & they were delicious! I'd love to go back!

Fairly traditional

By 463marthag |

Fairly expensive for fairly traditional fare. The breakfast buffet was heavy on the carbohydrates. Great service!

Good food, FOH needs a lot of work

By Mark B |

Been here a few times, today was by far was the slowest service to get seated. Had a table for 2, was told a 15 minute wait. That’s fine but I counted a total of 31 open seats, however the tables were not cleared. Wait and bus staff let the tables sit there without being cleared for 20 minutes. Unacceptable especially when you have 17 people waiting to be seated. FOH Manager needs to tighten the strings.

Great breakfast stop

By 949ww |

Had breakfast at this restaurant several times. Good food, good choices, prices typical for a convention hotel restaurants. Recommended if you have a big appetitie.

Lovely place to eat

By Will R |

A nice size breakfast menu, though possibly the A'la Carte would be a better option. The service was very friendly and chatty, and the food was hot and fresh an tasty. Lynsey the waitress was most helpful and even got me a cup of tea to go. As it opens at 06.30 it is useful for insomniacs.

Breakfast buffet

By Denis D |

We had breakfast buffet which offered a variety of selections of standard breakfast buffet items very clean with ample amounts available. The highlight of the buffet was the omelet station which constructed your omelet to order quickly and expertly. Staff is friendly and available. Price is reasonable, but on the high end unless you are planning on going through several times.

I may move to Houston just for this restaurant!

By RJ O |

While in town working on the Super Bowl, and doing some projects inside the Marriott Marquis where the Walker Street Kitchen is located, I walked in to check it out. I knew that WSK had just opened up because the hotel had just opened only a few weeks earlier. It was around 11:00 and I was still in the mood for breakfast, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had a brunch menu still going. I was greeted by my server who was really nice. Looked over the menu and couldn't decide between the Brisket Hash or the Texas Benny. It was recommended that I try the Brisket Has but come back for the Texas Benny. I took the reco and added an Iced Coffee. While I was waiting, I searched for WSK on Trip Advisor, but because it was so new it was not up yet. I think went back up to the front and talked to the hostesses and went through the steps to get it added. When I got back to my table, my server Jose, had brought me a fruit plate that I had not ordered. He said that my Brisket Hash had come out but that the over easy eggs had broken and that wasn't the way the breakfast is to be presented so he had the kitchen remake it. And in the interim he wanted me to have some fruit. Needless to say this was a nice surprise and the fruit was delicious. In a matter of minutes, my Brisket Hash came out and without hesitation I can say that it was probably the best breakfast I have ever tasted. Everything was perfect. Bottom layer are perfectly cooked hash browns topped with homemade shredded brisket. They add pabloano peppers, then the over easy eggs and top it all over with their signature fresh made Salsa Verde. Believe me when I am telling you that this salsa verde may be the best in the world. Every bite of this dish needed to be savored and I truly didn't want it to end. The restaurant was slow so I was able to talk with Chef Amanda and learn that everything they cook is done there and they use only locally sourced meats and produce. She even brought me out a tin of house made trail mix and a to go container of the salsa Verde. And while I was waiting for Trip Advisor to add Walker Street Kitchen, I went back the next day and had the Texas Benny which is their take on the classic eggs Benedict. Their twist is that the English Muffin is replaced with a southern biscuit, the ham is replaced with brisket and the hollandaise sauce is replaced with sausage gravy. I wasn't sure if it was possible to even come close to the Brisket Hash, but OMG, this breakfast was amazing also. I am serious when I say you have to try this restaurant. I give Walker Street Kitchen my highest recommendation.

Excellent food and service

By Patrick G |

We shared two meals, dinner and breakfast with the staff at the Walker Street kitchen. We were seated quickly, served very nicely, and enjoyed very high quality food excellently prepared. The concierge and waitstaff provided both guidance on our selections and constant, pleasant and professional attention. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Nice place for breakfast or lunch

By GSMIII |

We had a late lunch on Sunday. They were still serving the buffett but the menu was awesome. The banh mi rocked.

Take the buffet or starve

By coyotegriller |

The restaurant is set up with a nice buffet. Don't order from the menu unless you have a lot of time. There are too few servers and I never did get my breakfast!

Breakfast buffet worth getting up for

By John B |

Enjoyed the breakfast buffet twice during my four night stay at the Marriott Marquis. The waitstaff were extremely attentive and informative. Some of the best sausage gravy I have ever had!

Just what we needed

By Alexandra H |

After a long day at the convention center the staff were very accommodating and welcoming, the jalapeño cornbread with cinnamon butter was delicious and food outstanding. Couldn’t have asked for a better meal or nicer service! Will definitely be back next time I am in Houston.

Great place for breakfast

By tnjr2019 |

Great for breakfast, located in the Marriott Marquis. Went to Houston for baseball game an stayed here. After the first day's breakfast there was no reason to go try anywhere else to eat. Choice of ordering off the menu or a well stocked buffet complete with an omelette chef, at resonable prices. We did both. Food was good and the service was excellent. The first day we had a waitress named Ayonna who was great and pleasent. While we never had her again, the next two days when she saw us, she came over and asked how our vacation was going. That's the type of person that makes you want to come back and eat there again.

Delicious but slow

By Weaton13 |

We went for a girls night out. The food is delicious but we did have to wait awhile for both food and drinks.....and there was only one other table at the time. Don't go if you're in a hurry, but a good stop if you have some time to sit back and relax.

Friendliest!

By Inspire750481 |

The morning buffet here (inside Marriott Marquis) was just right - eggs, salmon, fruit, cheese, yogurt, hot and cold cereal, muffins, bagels, smooth coffee...and most of all the friendliest wait staff around. Nice way to start a business trip.

Great service

By PH |

Had breakfast here, from the hostess to our server, everyone is pleasant and nice, which is needed first thing in the morning. I had the Brisket Hash, it was a huge dish but delicious.

Nice Atmosphere

By simplyyetta |

Stopped for a quick breakfast. The hostess was amazing. Our waitress was ok. The mimosas won me over!

World Series Dinner

By pdSixty8 |

We checked into to Marriott Marquis hotel and was a bit hungry for dinner. The weather was a bit chilly and too cold to eat by the pool, and the other two restaurants in the hotel were packed. The Astros were playing a block away so you had fans hanging out here. This place was busy but looked like there was room to dine in here. I was worried without a reservation I was going to be screwed but they said they could seat us. So we sit down on a couch and wait. The hostess was nice and cheerful and showed us to a table. My wife suddenly sees a temporary tv setup showing the Astros game. The hostess then recognizes we may want to watch it so she said will setup another table for us. Back to the couch we wait. I guess it was about 5 minutes later she was back to seat us at another table. It was not a two person like the other but 4 person. It was fine where I was getting hungry and did not care. The tv was about 50 inches and could see it fine. Later in the dinner the signal was lost. Others wondered if it would return and kept going off. Turns out they were getting the signal through an internet service and a person working there had to continue rebooting a laptop. For me I pulled out my phone and watched it on YouTube TV until it was back on. We were given water and menus. The menu had a general variety of choices from vegetarian to meat lovers. I ordered the Gulf Red Fish and glass of wine. Relaxed and watched the game with others around. When our food arrived it looked and smelled good. My fish tasted very lightly with hint of lemon which pared up nicely with the wine. Our server came by a couple of times to make sure we were doing well. This place also serves breakfast in the morning but never tried it. Overall it was a good choice to dine here and skip the large crowd. Afterwards went back to our room to watch rest of the game.

breakfast

By J E |

The only sit down option in the Marriott for breakfast. They have a buffet for $23 that includes your drink. Menu options are also available. I got the fast fare which is scrambled eggs with cheese and a side of hashbrowns. The hasbrowns were salty. The eggs could have been cooked a minute longer. $14 for this plate. Service seems a tad put out or angry. I couldn't decided which. You can charge to your room or put on a card. It was a fine meal but I wouldn't eat breakfast there again.

Reasonable variety

By Brian R |

It is a quick place to eat with good, but not great food. It is quieter than the sports bar across the lobby.

Enjoying the Texans

By Patricia B |

Wonderful food. Lovely waitress. I love atmosphere of the restaurant. Lauren the manager of the restaurant was very personable.

food a little bland, poor service

By jeffv1810 |

Food had no seasonings whatsoever, our waiter was not friendly and un-attentive. Atmosphere was nice, beautiful decor.

Underwhelming

By beach_mom_leesburg |

Great decor and a promising menu. Hostess on the rude side. Food was fair and on the pricy side. Service was awful.

Decent Onsite Hotel Restaurant

By HoustonFoodAndWine |

While doing a staycation my wife & I stopped into Walker Street Kitchen for breakfast. We like the overall ambiance and restaurant design and thought the menu offered a nice array of dishes. Our waiter was pleasant enough but seemed aloof and also had trouble understanding a few of our requests. For example, my wife ordered chocolate milk (which is on the menu) and he repeated back to her, "Hot chocolate?" (also on the menu). My wife then corrected him and he repeated back to her the correct item she ordered. He then showed up with hot chocolate. We explained to him again that it was milk chocolate that we wanted, and he seemed very confused. I pointed it out on the menu and he apologized and brought the correct drink back. Minor inconveniences, really, but his communication skills were a bit lacking. Furthermore, while my food was delicious (All-American Breakfast) my wife's migas had 2 hairs in them, which really dampened a good dish. All of that to say, I'd still eat at the restaurant but I'm not sure my wife would. It's an average hotel restaurant, at best, but that doesn't mean it's not worth checking out at least once.

Best Breakfast in town

By AFPayne |

They offer a buffet and healthy menu items. Igor was our server and very friendly and accommodating. Apparently this is a favorite for the locals, too.

Train the Wait Staff

By Sharron H |

I was seated quickly during a busy morning with a conference being hosted at the hotel. My order was prepared well and served promptly. What I did not appreciate was the server charging me for an Arnold Palmer when my beverage of choice was a lemonade, which cost 40 percent less than he charged me. He claimed not to have a lemonade option on the cash register. That's probably because the lemonade cost the same as a fountain drink.

Ok food, expensive buffet

By Skye Coote |

This is part of the Marriott so I came here thinking I would get the lovely big Marriott buffet breakfast. Instead, there is a small buffet area, with lack luster food, small arrays, no fresh cooked bar (although they do cook you an omelette in the kitchen), but typical big hotel price. The food off the normal breakfast menu was tasty and more reasonably priced

Very friendly staff

By Mile A |

A great selection of fresh fruit. Tasty omelette. From the point of view they could start earlier, 6:30 is not early enough.

Fine dining

By Nasa C |

Great ambiance, service, and food. The servers were quick and friendly. I enjoyed the food. Only went for lunch once and it was good.

Several visits - slow service

By Brad G |

Food quality was good. Service was very slow which is surprising since this is a conference hotel and prompt service should be expected since many are at the restaurant for business breakfast and lunch.

Excellent Service

By Ashley |

We recently dined at the Walker Street Kitchen during our stay at the Marriott Marquis Houston. We throughly enjoyed the Migas Tacos Breakfast and Broken Yolk Sandwich. The wait staff was extremely welcoming, friendly, and attentive. We truly felt the Southern hospitality and it started our day on a such a positive note!

Friendly, informative staff

By Helen D |

The restaurant was surprisingly well priced given how expensive the Marriott was... Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. A pleasant dinning experience.

Expensive buffet

By CBonn57 |

Husband in town for conference so after a long day traveling we woke up hungry. We decided on the brunch for $22 as thought it would be great at this first class hotel. NOT!! This type of buffet is what is normally a free continental breakfast at other hotels we have stayed. Only salvation was they do make omelettes which were okay. Service was good but I do not recommend this pricey breakfast. Walk up the street for a hearty less expensive breakfast.

Good breakfast Stop

By brianrounds |

This place is in the JW Marriott Marquis hotel. It has a good menu for the regular breakfast items. It also has a buffet for a descent price. The waiter was very nice and kept the coffee cup full. Very nice way to start the morning off.

Great burger

By mc5117 |

Had lunch here today. Very nice atmosphere and friendly waiter. Had the burger with fried egg and it was really good - would liked to have had the egg more over easy but that was my bad for not asking. Came with French fries which were crispy and delicious. Right off the lobby of the Marriott Marquis.

Tasty Quick Lunch?

By Winetastindiva |

Arrived for a late lunch and had to wait a few minutes. Arrived the first day of my convention for lunch and they were closed until dinner. Had lunch with a friend on the last day of my convention. The lunch special, gumbo, and Rueben Sandwich was tasty. The service was very slow.
