Good sushi

By Chabu H |

We were able to order some happy hour items as well as had sushi and they were both very fresh and definitely a place to eat again

Creative Sushi Rolls

By GregsHay |

Thankfully Shiro was booked solid for the night and we had to go for a walk in this great Belltown area. Sitting outside we could enjoy the local scenery wandering by, and opting for some of the house specialty rolls, we were pleasantly surprised and delighted. The Sinatra Roll with its lemon wedge on top was my favorite, while the White Rabbit that they forgot with the order and offerred up last, made for a perfect sushi dessert. The sushi/sashimi was very good, but eating at Shiro the night after showed me how good sushi/sashimi could be, but compared to anywhere else, it would still be very good/excellent.

The best Sushi in Seattle

By Devas |

This place was strongly recommended by locals to us and boy they were right. I have in all my travel over the world never tasted Sushi with so rich flavors. I would actually return to Seattle just for this whenever I can

Great Birthday Celebration Spot

By GazzaGirlSeattle |

We helped a friend celebrate his 40th over a 3 hour dinner at Wasabi Bistro. They were able to get all 20 of us at a large table in a semi private, beautifully decorated room in the back. The service was excellent, drinks & food flowing and server successfully (and graciously) keeping track of multiple separate checks. But the best part was the food - all 20 of us enjoyed our meal. One guy just kept ordering more! There is something for everyone on the menu. The sushi was excellent and they had the most inventive, delicious rolls I've ever tasted. The place has a warm & vibrant vibe - great spot for a big birthday, date night or simple bite.

Overpriced & Under Impressed

By netia1128 |

This place is a rip. I figured with the great reviews it would be a good place to grab some sushi in Seattle. What a mistake. The menu is overpriced and the sushi was bland. Worst part though by far was the terrible service. Seriously, I had some of the worst servers I have ever had, anywhere. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

We visited Seattle for our mini-moon.

By slothstravel |

We visited Seattle for our mini moon and decided to walk to Wasabi Sushi for dinner from the Aquarium. It was a quick 15 minute walk. We had reservations and were seated promptly. The ambiance was nice and customer service was excellent. We ordered the mushroom dumplings (deconstructed dumpling, packed with flavor), crispy rice appetizer (delicious!), and a few rolls. The rolls were delicious! They are all very light, generous with the fish, and easy on the rice. We’d highly recommend this place for a date night in the city!

Decent Sushi Place

By Phillip D |

This is a visually pleasing restaurant. Sushi rolls are nicely presented and good value for the $$. The service is a bit uneven (we sat unattended until a very good waiter did acknowledge us) and cc's were incorrectly charged. Work on the service and details and I think you'll have a winning place.

Great food, Great service

By David C |

We were recommended Wasabi by reception in our hotel and we were not disappointed. All night happy hour on a Thursday so very reasonable priced food and drink. Up there with the best sushi we have had and would recommend to anyone passing by. Decor very trendy and staff very friendly.

Terrible service

By Nikki C |

I mainly rate the service when it comes to restaurants. I am more likely to revisit a restaurant that has mediocre food but EXCEPTIONAL service, than a restaurant with decent food but terrible service. Our waitress spilled 2 cocktails over my jacket, purse, and there were pieces of broken glass on our table/chair. My jacket and purse were dripping wet so I moved it to another chair. The waitress apologized and said "I'm gonna be back to clean the mess. No actually, I'm gonna get someone else to clean it." So someone else came to sweep up the broken glass from the floor. They didn't wipe down the chair nor table. I had to ask for some napkins to wipe off my drenched jacket and purse, they didn't offer to help. I understand that mistakes happen and serving tables can be overwhelming at times; but the reason for my 1 star rating is due to lack of courtesy, no attention to detail, terrible customer service, and not showing that they are actually sorry. So after I wiped off my jacket and purse, I left the napkins on the table and nobody came to clear our table. So we just had wet napkins sitting on our table throughout the entire meal. Towards the end, my friend mentioned that it was my birthday and if they can put a candle on my dessert. The waitress wished me happy birthday then brought the dessert out with no candle. My friend had to ask for a candle again, then the waitress said "oh sorry, I forgot it was your birthday." And that was just a few minutes after she wished me happy birthday. When the bill came out, nothing was comp or discounted. It's not entitlement that I expected a discount. A restaurant with exceptional service will own up to their mistakes and make sure they make it up in some way. I have been to several restaurants where they automatically remove something from the tab after making a mistake, without me asking or making a big deal. They just did it, even though I said it was ok and smiled. Because they knew that it was not ok and they made sure they take care of their customers. Now that, is what you call GREAT service. Can't say the same about Wasabi though. Unfortunately, good customer service is rare these days. Workers end up like this when management doesn't carefully train nor reinforce good customer service to their employees. Overall, food is 7/10. They have a good happy hour but service sucks.

Go for happy hour

By shortdirectflights |

Excellent happy hour specials - you can get 3 items for $14 including some great sushi. We loved the spicy crab roll and wagyu beef sliders. We had plans to stop here for happy hour, then go to dinner elsewhere, but we ended up getting multiple rounds of happy hour food here. Bartender was not overly friendly but still great food overall. Not to be confused with the adjoining restaurant next door with the enclosed patio, which serves chicken skin and liver and hearts(!).

Best Sushi in Seattle AND $14 3roll happy hour!

By Meg W |

I'm a Seattleite, and my weakness is sushi. I've tried countless sushi restaurants around town, and Wasabi, is BY FAR THE BEST! fresh, fast, and FANTASTIC service. Recently they remodeled and it's very classy :) HAPPY HOUR = best in town, cheep drinks and for $14 you get 3 choices of amazing sushi or side, I normally get the LAS VEGAS TEMPURA ROLL (my favorite, I wish I could order it 3x), Seattle tempura, and Alaska roll. oh and, they don't skimp you on sizes! They're the same sizes as the regular priced! (3-6 and then late night 11-12) All of they're employee's are fantastic, professional and always on top of it. I just wish they wore name tags! (The 2 Ginger's are my favorite) Go there and devour the freshest and most delicious sushi in your lifeee!

Excellent

By Murphysjsr |

Im in Seattle and not that familiar with the area. I wanted a place within walking distance of the Marriott Waterfront. This place came up on a search. I decided to give it a try. Lovely decor and a subdued hip vibe. I had two vegetarian rolls, the cowboy and green decadence. I shall return! Great wine list, not your standard fare. Several wines from right here in state of Washington. I had an excellent sauvignon blanc. I highly recommend you give this place a try. I think you will be pleased, no thrilled.

Great sushi

By Phillips J |

Ate there twice during our stay. It was just around the block from the Belltown Inn and food is great. Recommend reservations on weekends

Excellent experience

By seattlepat2015 |

Really good udon and sushi. Great service. Good ambiance. Recommend this place if you want good sushi. They do a nice job of offering classics and new interpretations of standard dishes. And there are alternatives on the menu for the non-sushi eating amongst us.

Nice romantic setting, good food.

By chris h |

We go here about 4 times a year. Nice clean restaurant, good service, good quality and quantity for the $. Happy hour is a great time for drinks and specials on certain rolls. If you like sashimi and are adventurous then ask for "omakase" and tell them to go for it. Sometimes special items will be there and the chef will include them with it such as smoked fish liver, fresh raw shrimp and fresh raw clams. Yum! Try something new, live a little. Enjoy 🙋

Go During Happy Hour! Great Value!

By lobaker1 |

Wasabi was the best restaurant we ate at during our Seattle stay for both value and quality. The prices for the Sushi, Appetizers, Ramen during Happy Hour were very affordable for a place like Seattle. The Sushi Rolls were very large and delicious. We got the Calamari, Nigiri, Spicy Yellowtail and Ramen. Service was very fast and the ambiance was also very nice here. I recommend making a reservation on OpenTable to be safe.

Yum Yum!

By HoosierKiwi |

I can only comment on happy hour here. My husband and I attended happy hour twice here. I believe its everyday from 4-6 pm and 11pm-1am. At least on the weekdays and maybe on weekends, not sure on that, check the website. Seriously awesome menu items, 3 for 14$, WOW! This option allowed us to try lots of different items when we would normally not get such a variety. The quality was high and the atmosphere pleasant. A bit more upscale than we usually dine, but hey who want's to eat sushi in a dive? I will always come back to this place! Thanks for a few great and filling meals!

Simply Stunning

By Jeff S |

Everything from the atmosphere to the drinks to the sushi here at Wasabi is AMAZING. 5/5 isn't enough. My daughter loved the miso soup, the gyoza was great (and authentic), a d the NY strip tataki was delectable. The drinks were amazing, from the Lavender Lemondrop, to the Tokyo Mule, to the Lychee Blossom, to the Empress Kiss (the Empress Kiss was the best one). And the sushi... wow. Everything we tried was perfect. As a note, for a special treat, try the O-Toro. It is worth it, and just melts in your mouth.

Beautiful restaurant and great sushi

By cjlbseattle |

Wasabi is a great sushi restaurant with a bar, patio, and raw bar. I love the ambiance of this restaurant. The decor is very modern and the restaurant is very clean, something you want from a sushi restaurant. The prices are a bit steep but with top notch service and a separate vegetarian menu I'm not complaining!

Best ever!

By Aejay_12 |

I love Japanese food and by far, this is the best restaurant I have ever been to other than the restaurants I dined in in Japan. Fresh and taste so good. Ask for the Chef's specialty dishes, some of them are not even in the menu. For the oysters, they prepared already a salt mixed with spices and others and it was perfect! No need for hot sauce, lemon/lime, and whatever you eat it with. We also ordered Isuzukara and the sushi boat. Scallop just melts in your mouth! A bit pricey though if it was just me but I'd be happy... Sharing it too with my cousins was just as fun...Two thumbs up!

Great spot

By Tamarakruse |

Great spot. My now go to sushi spot in Seattle when traveling through. Wonderful sushi, fabulous drinks, and great happy hour pricing. Don’t change a thing! Thanks to all for making it a personal experience too, and the kind offer of an umbrella.

One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle!

By Helen K |

They have exellent happy hour menus! This is a place where I take my friends and families who come from different states or countries

Great Sushi, Wonderful Happy Hour!

By bigolbagger |

This is one of my favorite stops in Downtown Seattle. And if you can get there early enough, they have an outstanding Happy Hour. Wonderful drinks, a nice sake selection and great value priced food specials make this a wonderful afternoon stop. I had also visited for dinner a couple of times. The service is absolutely top notch, fast, friendly and very polished. The food has always been above average on my visits, it is one of the best I have been to. This is a nice place to visit. It has all the allure of being right downtown, great service and delicious food served up with great cocktails. What more could you ask for...other maybe some easier parking.

Unique take on traditional dishes

By Laurinska |

We arrived in Seattle on Sunday and drove directly to Wasabi for dinner. Being on the road, we were dressed casually, but soon found out that it didn’t matter. Wasabi has a contemporary, but warm atmosphere. We were the first in the door, and we were pleased to hear they have happy hour pricing. We were really impressed with the staff (so friendly and helpful), and the food was outstanding. Everything was presented in a unique way; slightly different than how sushi is normally cut, but it was awesome. We will be back!

Great sushi and people!

By SeanomadAK |

After a wonderful dinner, I left my credit card at the restaurant but didn't realize it until the next morning when I was getting on the plane to fly back to Alaska. When I called, Edgar Carbajal, Wasabi's General Manager, told me: no problem he would mail it up to me right away - and he did. I am so thankful to him and his Wasabi team. Looking forward to going back the next time I am in Seattle!

Excellent!!!

By fano71 |

Sushis are incredibly tasty... It's an open kitchen so you can see the cooks working and you can also see the fresh products they use. A very good place to have a nice dinner...

A good mid-range Sushi Place

By warren D |

The quality of the sushi here is good, the price is right, and the location in Belltown also good, within a short distance from the Crocodile, where Nirvana once played.

Glad we found this place

By Jason B |

Very good sushi that was fresh and served quickly even during super busy Friday rush. But the star of the show was the appetizer fried oysters (obviously super fresh) and especially the appetizer short ribs, SO AMAZING!

The Best

By aletoppi |

One of the best sushi ever! We really loved it and the waiter was really nice to us. Nothing else to say! I will come back, look at the pictures that I uploaded

Not worth it

By The Girl With Nine Lives |

I've been here a couple times over the years and I've never been they impressed but last night was downright disappointing. The service was terrible and for me to say it was terrible... It was really terrible... The food was terrible... The seafood wasn't even fresh! We're in Seattle!!! There's no excuse for not having fresh seafood! Seattlites are going to notice if it's not fresh! The wine selection was below average. The music was too loud and the whole atmosphere was too loud. There are so many better sushi places for much lower prices Wasabi is just not worth it if you know you're sushi.

Delicious Japanese cuisine

By Juli M |

Beautiful and cozy place! Tasty cuisine! Romantic setting! Polite staff. I want to come here again. I will definitely visit this place again!

Average and expensive sushi

By Saleme |

It's hip and nice, but for the price, the sushi is just Ok in my book. It may be good for some others, but I'd go somewhere else for the price. But if you want nice drinks and to be seen on the street, then hit up Wasabi.

Yummy dinner as always

By CaseyJ |

Had a great dinner, just missed happy hour which was a bummer. Has the Las Vegas roll = super yummy. Hubby had Asian Armageddon which was about as spicy hot as he could handle.

Happy hour here is unbeatable

By Hallie D |

If you haven't been to a Wasabi happy hour, you haven't happy hour-ed right. The food is always delicious, the options are incredible and it's all super affordable. Sit at the bar and ask for Vasil. His service is top notch and he will take care of you!

always interesting

By Ronald C |

we started with SUSHI TACOS that were fresh and flavorful, then 2 exotis rolls that were outstanding.

You don't know what you're missing.

By Chris J |

I have to be honest, I completely ended up here by default. My party and I really wanted to go to Shiro's. Fortunately for us Shiro's was packed so we ended up walking up the street to Wasabi. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive, took our oder for both drinks and food and we had drinks in a flash and the food arrived shortly after. This place is a must try! We did the medium size sampler 👍👍!

Outstanding experience

By Robert K |

5/5. Outstanding experience. Stopped in for a bit of West Coast sashimi on my way through Seattle and had an outstanding experience. The omakase platter was excellent, the presentation was over the top and the chef’s selection of fish got top marks. Highly recommended.

3.5 Stars for Just a bit better than Mediocre Menu...unclear menu/website for Happy Hour...

By LHOVancouver |

We were trying to join Wasabi for Happy Hour. If we had been successful, the Value for $ would have garnered a better score. But the Menu and Website are a little deceptive in their potraying of their Happy Hour which starts at 10p. SO Sorry can't give a better score for pricey/trendy Sushi/Sashimi. Relatively easy parking on street and in back lane. Nice indoor/outdoor patio, but chairs/tables were wonky. Good luck and enjoy.

Wow - great sushi, great service!

By nd826 |

We went for dinner on a Wednesday - not super crowded, but a nice vibe. All the sushi rolls we tried were some of the best we've had, and the outstanding service from our waiter was the cherry on top of the experience. We tried the mochi for desert - excellent. Well worth a visit if you want top-quality sushi and great service!

Solid Sushi Experience

By jdohare |

Went here for a business dinner. The service was excellent, the servers were friendly, attentive and fast. If you like rolls this place should definitely have something to suit your taste as they have quite a selection. I tend to like things on the hot and spicy side so I ordered the "Kiss of Fire Roll" and the "Inglorious Bast... Roll" both of which were excellent and I will definitely go back and order them again. Overall this was a good solid experience and everyone at the table agreed they would come back and so would I.

Delish - great variety, fresh!

By ChristinaM41_12 |

Wow! We're only in town for a day (unfortunately) because you could eat here every night for two months and have something new every time. It's a great variety of sushi - the typical rolls plus really creative and delicious rolls, too. Other menu items as well and fair prices. Everything tastes fresh and well prepared. If you're in Belltown/Seattle it's worth a try.

Great sushi and service

By Fonda B |

Absolutely loved this restaurant , just walked in and discovered the best sushi in Seattle. The server was so polite and helpful in suggesting the sushi and sake

That is one big bowl of noodles!

By cdflash |

Solo diner with no reservation, just a casual visit and dined at the front bar. Timing was good (for me) as game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final was on and I think many people may have been watching that elsewhere... lucky for me it was on at the bar. Ordered a happy hour Nigiri set, a bowl of Seafood Ramen, and a serve of Spicy Tuna rolls, along with a couple of glasses of Asahi & Kirin. The Nigiri was a good starter and a great way to clear my sinuses - my own fault, I applied far too much wasabi to them - but the noodles - plentiful... tasty... seemed to keep going... I could have ordered just that. The spicy tuna rolls are completely removed from what an Australian from my part of the world would expect (a completely different style roll) and once again I blew my own head off with the application of wasabi, again my own fault. If I'm back in Seattle... I'll be back for the noodles!

Perfect Meal!

By mjg20143 |

While a few of the other sushi restaurants were closed, or otherwise put off by someone asking for a same day reservation, Wasabi was more than happy to have us. Atmosphere, employees, and most importantly the food were all fantastic. Had an absolute blast sitting at the sushi bar!

Really fresh Sushi and good rolls

By ArendJS |

Umi and Wasabi are closely located. I do prefer Wasabi over Umi due to the quality of the food, although Wasabi is more expensive. However if you are alone you can use the happy hour that is available for people sitting at the sushi bar.

Delicious!

By arnonyogev |

This was one of the best meals we had in Seattle. The taste is great and portions are big. I especially liked the green tea ice cream tempura.

Good atmosphere, good food

By arnonyogev |

Had two vegetarian rolls and both were delicious. The service is great and the atmosphere is fun and relaxed

Hip place, excellent service, nice presentation

By TravelLily007 |

This is a hip place from its decor, ambience, music, hostesses, waiters, etc. Beautiful presentation with a wide variety of selections. Great service and fun and friendly sushi chefs. Prices can be a bit high but you can go during Happy Hours. Nice bar. Lots of young professionals. Convenient Belltown location on 2nd Ave.

Exquisite sushi

By Lynne A |

We loved the delightful miso soup. The tuna poke was delicious as was the spider roll. Everything looked amazing. The service was excellent and prompt.

Enjoyable Dinner!

By Valerie Heide M |

Very convenient downtown restaurant with a very diverse and interesting menu. Sidewalk patio seating is available; however during rush hour it is a bit loud. The food and service was great.

Delicious!!!

By Trina C |

Another fantastic trip to Wasabi! The sushi is fresh and the presentation is spectacular. The avocado kamikaze is a must try-fresh and flavourful!

Great sushi

By EconomistTravels |

The sushi and other menu items here are incredibly good. The selection of sushi and other Japanese food is great, and the service is attentive without being intrusive. The menu is also really creative. I ate here twice, and our whole party was made up of Californians who live on sushi. Everyone raved. The decor is modern and sophisticated, but the staff is very kid friendly as well

Average sushi in a nice environment

By Vitalina V |

We came here for sushi in the evening, it wasn't super busy and we were able to get a table without a reservation. The sushi was alright here but not good or great. They have a fairly big menu and we had a very pleasant waiter.

Poor Service

By Judy A |

We go to Wasabi because the food is amazing and happy hour is terrific. It’s always a treat for us. That being said, we had the worst service in all the times we have been to the restaurant. We waited ten minutes before our waiter came back to ask us if we needed anything else and then he brought half our order and then never brought the rest. When I looked at our bill, he was charging us for food we never received. He changed it and seemed put out by this. The restaurant was not that busy either. I’m sorry I left a tip. We will probably not go back for a while. Very disappointed. Judy Aloisi

The best sushi.

By Steve C |

We sat at the chef's bar to watch Chef Pedro prepare the BEST sushi We've ever had, never been to Japan so,,,,,,,,. Isaac was our guy for drinks and to make sure we were doing ok. Great service. Super fresh, we ate until we couldn't anymore, just delicious. Definitely will do again on our next Seattle trip. Overall in my top 5 outta-town places to eat.

excellent experience with attentive ( and hot) manager--

By travelguy2006Miami |

love this place!!! excellent waitstaff, great menu, excellent food, trendy/ beautiful decor and restaurant manager was very present in dining room-love that!!! I am from Ft a Lauderdale/ Miami area and would highly recommend this restaurant.. Thom Stewart/Concord Hotels

Wow

By Tim G |

Even though we are from South Florida and eat Sushi frequently, this is honestly the most fresh tasting Sushi we have ever had. The service was friendly and efficient. The Sushi was cold and fresh with a lot of different flavor. Can’t wait to go back.

Great place for happy hour

By DTravelDiva |

We came here for happy hour. We were very happy with the food selection and the prices. We came right after 5pm and we sat at the bar at first. Slow to no service because it was so busy for 1 server/bartender to handle so we were seated at a table. Our server was fast and courteous. We ordered 3 orders sushi for 15.00 and additional dollar for sashimi. The quality, presentation, taste and price was to our liking. Very impressed. The only thing about this place is the challenge of parking. While there are some parking on the streets, sometimes it's never available. Then you park at one of the lots and make sure you look at the rates because it might cost you more than the meal itself. Overall, this place got my vote for the one of the best sushi places in Belltown.

Great sushi and happy hour

By James B |

We had a great time here and really enjoyed their happy hour. Great selection of sushi, drinks and apps, at very reasonable prices. Service was also tops!

Yum!

By jbig_kauai |

Great Rolls w/ fun names. Beware if it's says its spicy they mean it! Great atmosphere. Only complaint is a friend ordered a 12 piece sashimi and they brought very thick cuts of Salmon. It was delicious but $42. Server should have clarified what she was ordering.

Great quality and value

By GeordieGirl99 |

Just happened to be passing after a long day and didn't want to eat in. As it was happy hour we got a great value 3 dishes for $14 to take away. It was ready in 5 minutes and the bar staff were great while we were waiting. Spicy crab roll - spot on.

MEH!

By tcck55210 |

I've always heard about this place, but when comparing to other options in the area (Shiro's - the best! or Umi), why go here? The ambiance is filled with middle-aged people going here to trying to be hip and overly made-up younger people trying to be something their not. So maybe you don't care about the ambiance. The food is decent, but pricier than it deserves to be. And where there are much better options in the area, I would never choose to come here again. But that's just me.

Good Sushi and Good Warm up if you are going out on the town

By Craig K |

I used to go here as a primer for going out for the night. On Friday and Saturday nights its packed so get there early! Good food and good people watching.

great appetizers, good sushi

By Northern German guy |

The wasabi is located in Seattle's night life district, where you can find many restaurants, but also easily an after dinner bar to continue. The service was very good, attentive and friendly. The appetizers were delicious, you MUST try the Oyster shooter with spicy pineapple ponzu, tobiko and quail egg! But simply all appetizers we had were great and special. Unfortunately, the sushi is nothing special. Don´t get me wrong, it also tastes really good, but just as good as you would expect it from a decent Shushi restaurant, nothing spectacular, nothing surprising, nothing for what I would say "I have to come back". Prices are quite high in my opinion.

Excellent sushi!

By lmitravel |

I am a sushi snob and having tried a couple of places in Seattle this past week, I wasn't sure if I would find one that would satisfy my taste. But Wasabi did not disappoint! Great izakaya, interesting, delicious rolls and nice cocktail as well! Will be back again when in Seattle.

Unsure

By gemmal85240 |

Food was really good but not sure at all about the rest. Lots of empty tables in the restaurant but we were told maybe only tables at the suchi bar but with questioning this were sat at a table in the bar almost on the floor so asked to be moved and were seated at a proper dining table. Service was good and food excellent. Enjoying our meal with still half a glass of wine to finish and were presented with the bill without asking for it and also without being asked if we wanted anything more, desert or saki. There was no one waiting for a table so were a bit annoyed about this. Would of liked some saki but felt like we should leave. Overall an overpriced meal with the feel of being pushed out. Think there are better places around to be honest.

Extraordinary quality and value

By Ryan Hubris #1 in Vietnam |

We took advantage of the happy hour for discounted food and our expectations were exceeded in term of the quality of food and value. We had about $150 of food and paid less than 1/2 that value. We will definitely be coming back.

great sushi

By Ron T |

Had a wonderful meal here on a THU evening. 5 in our party, all ordered different items. Portions fairly large - we were stuffed.

Enjoyed cocktails at the bar

By UckfieldSue |

We met up with a friend (a local and regular visitor to Wasabi) for cocktails. Very pleasant atmosphere, very trendy and modern. Our friend hadn't eaten and had a couple of dishes, she eats only the healthiest and raw. Her food looked beautiful, but it was expensive. The service was great and the manager was very visible, personally seeing that his customers were happy - but discrete. I'd definitely go back - at happy hour if it was to eat.

Delicious sushi!

By jdunn57 |

Excellent food, service and kid friendly! Easy walk from downtown hotels and family friendly. The Happy Hour menu was great1

Great sushi not so great service

By MeggersS |

We waited forever at the sushi bar to have our order taken and even longer for the food to arrive. The food was delicious, but the wait staff was inattentive to say the least. We would definitely go back, but we'll sit at a table next time.

Outside sign

By Madelyn |

We loved this restaurant! The eel sushi was delicious! The food took a long time to arrive, but it was amazing. The mushroom dumplings were also really good.

Cool vibe & great food!

By jordy12 |

As a Family of five we were looking for Japanese to eat as we strolled through bell town . We were welcomed in to this very lively and beautifully set out restaurant, and walked away very satisfied. There is a great variety to choose from and we ordered a variety of starters that were all delicious and mains etc. everything tasted great. The vibe of this place is also trendy and catered to a variety of ages. The service was excellent and the manager was present on the floor and attentive to the patrons. Highly recomend

Nice food worth to try

By Celien G |

I like the food there. All what I had ordered were super delicious. I would like to come again and will recommend it to my friends

Music is way tooooo loud for a Japanese restaurant

By ABZ |

Pros- -Delicious food and very fresh seafood -great prices after 10:00 pm -friendly services at the bar Cons- -electronic music is counter to Japanese ambiance and WAY TOO LOUD -service is WAY TOO SLOW -martinis should be served in real martini glasses

Awesome little find

By Jim K |

Great little surprise ... ultra modern decor, small plates or full meals ... bar was a mess .. out of almost everything for their specialty drinks ... manhattan etc., but food made up for it along with free desert!

Great sushi

By Sophie W |

Food was great, service was good. Only disappointment was we got our calamari after our sushi but it was the best calamari (salad) I ever had (and I eat a lot of calamari). Everything was priced reasonably for the city and the food was on Point. My boyfriend and I sat at the bar so I am not sure if table service was as good but it wasn't packed even at 9pm on a Friday.

Our favorite stop!

By Michelle D |

This was our favorite restaurant on our trip! Even tho it was restaurant week, food was great, and we got the deal on 3 appetizers, which our kids loved! 8 year old loved the yakitori and the potstickers, and my salmon sushi was fantastic. Loved the tempura too. Service great, atmosphere very nice and an easy walk from our hotel. Would definitely go here again on another visit and wholeheartedly recommend it, for dining and for sushi!

Fantastic Date Night

By Sierra G |

My boyfriend and I got the Rockstar and Barbie roll. The Rockstar is by far the best sushi roll I have ever had, the perfect amount of crunch and fresh fish with fantastic sauce to finish it off. I was incredibly disappointed with their sashimi however. It did not taste fresh at all, I definitely wasted money on the sashimi. The atmosphere was mature and club-like with dark lighting and upbeat music. It was a great date night overall.

Great quality and selection

By MostafaPajouyan |

We had Sushi and Sashimi. 5 orders of special Sushi and 1 medium Sashimi Chef selection. Quality and taste were great. The “faty” Tuna sashimi was amazing! 2 of our re-orders came very late (very busy) and the waiter was very professional to have them on the house as compensation. In short: good quality for price. And great selection.

Great option for sushi in Belltown

By whicheall08 |

Tried this at the recommendation of my hotel. Belltown is a trendy neighborhood with lots of restaurants and bars to choose from. The Nigiri Yellowtail was awesome and the Spicy Tuna roll was excellent. Convenient location, good service and great Sushi.

Fresh Fish, Fun Specialty Rolls

This was our first time dining at Wasabi. Food was great and server was attentive. Our server helped us navigate the menu recommending the Ka-me-ha-me-ha roll. All the rolls were delicious, but the Ka-me-ha-me-ha was by far the best! We finished the night with the Green tea tempura ice cream, another fantastic dish. Overall an amazing experience. I will definitely return.

Truly a great experience

Great Sushi. Beautiful presentation. The taco was amazing as was the otoro was over the top. The only thing is it was very bright in the restaurant. Hope they lower the lights for our next visit.

Cool place

By Steve Lewis |

I was extremely well taken care during my dinner. Always available and attentive, they help selecting food without being hard seller. The rolls were great and other sashimis were also excellent

Trendy yupi kind of place

By glfseattle |

Nice location in Belltown, the area has a lot of food options within a 6 block radius. Food however is average to a little above, demographic is young professionals in mid 20 through late 30's.

Great sushi

By Jashade |

Sushi was delicious and very fresh. Had chirashi and variety of nigiri. Everything we had was good. Also had tofu, pork belly and ribs which were very good as well. The staff was friendly. The only downside was the very very loud music. It was hard to have a conversation through dinner. The restaurant was handicapped accessible

Decent food, terrible service

By SimeyTravels |

We needed a late-night dinner, after a long day of drinking. A quick Yelp search for highly-rated restaurants within walking distance of our hotel, open at 8:30 pm led us here. When we arrived, there were two groups waiting ahead of us, and the hostess told us that the wait would be 45 - 60 minutes. We put our name on the list, then stepped outside to run another search, but alas, nothing else looked appealing. Lucky for us, the hostess either grossly overestimated their popularity or grossly underestimated the staff's competence, because not 15 minutes later, I got the text saying our table was ready. We were led to a small high-top table towards the back of the restaurant. Our waiter approached us to take our drink order, then vanished. It took a bit of time for our drinks (hot tea, which ended up being two individual pots) and a small plate of edamame to arrive. He dropped the pots and the pods and then vanished once again, after warning us that the teapots were hot. It took a bit more time for us to flag our waiter down to place our order. We ended up going with a spicy tuna roll and a salmon skin roll to start. For our entrees, I went with the Tempura Udon and my husband got the Shoyu Ramen, extra spicy. I won't belabor the point - our waiter was not present and the wait for everything in that place was horrific - but let's just say that the tea was no longer hot by the time we got our meal. Oh, and noodles came out first, long before the sushi. The udon was delicious, lots of good flavor in the broth, and the tempura was perfectly crispy and crunchy. My husband did love his ramen, even though he said the broth was super spicy (he always seems to be surprised when soup broth is as spicy as he wants it to be). We were halfway through our soup when the sushi finally arrived, and I instantly regretted the fact that we'd ordered it. Not that it was bad - the salmon skin roll was delightful - but it was way too much food at that point. I'm giving the three stars for the food, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. He was nice enough, but it was almost 10 pm by the time we got our food, and the restaurant had mostly cleared out by the time we got our first dish, so I'm not entirely sure what kept him, or what kept the food. I'd recommend bringing your patience and planning on spending a bit of time here.

Trendy & friendly

By Wmelinda |

I came with a group of friends in April, to celebrate a friend's 21st. We have already been here several times, drawn in by the reasonable happy hour sushi prices, delicious rolls, and trendy decor and ambiance, but this visit in April was exceptionally fun! Our friendly waitress was excited to help my friend celebrate her 21st; she helped us choose drinks to buy our friend, and brought out birthday tiramisu. Then the manager came over to wish our friend a happy 21st and brought a QQtini, which I hear was delicious...the bday girl downed it in about two seconds. The fantastic service made this a memorable night for all of us, and now we have some new favorite drinks to try for next time! Thanks to Wasabi Bistro for being so welcoming to us!

Excellent for happy hour

By Anya R |

After not being able to get into Shiros around the corner, we decided to get our sushi fix at Wasabi and so glad we did! Amazing happy hour until 6 pm- great variety of food and drinks available then. Great flavors, value, and ambiance

Loved it. You can make a reservation, didn't receive my requested window table. Not sure why. Overall good experience. 3 people $146 before tip.

Delicious sushi in beautiful restaurant

By Monika P |

Visited Wasabi on a Saturday evening and took advantage of happy hour which is very good value. Good choice of food including vegetarian and very nice cocktails as well. Highly recommended.

Great service, but it is definitely over-priced with food like this

By euromun |

The restaurant has great design with nice and friendly service. However, the Sushi here is just OK level, Udon doesn't taste that good. But there's not too much choices in Seattle. A bit more expensive than many European cities actually.

good option for Japanese dining in Seattle

By Dan R |

Wasabi is a good option for Japanese food in Seattle. We enjoyed dinner - food and service. Menu includes many of the Japanese specialities we know from Japan and Japan-fusion cuisine. Rolls are huge, much more than rolls in other places. Udon and Ramen soups are also copious. The service is fine. Our party had a 3 years minus person and although they are not really a family place they did their best to accomodate her needs, including drawing a hand-made giraffe.

Gotta try this

By 5576miked |

Went there and ate the best sushi that i have ever had. can't be better than this. the green tea tiramisu is truly an amazing experience. great service and great food. loved it.

Delightful supper

The best sushi selection in Belltown

By KeyVentures |

Wasabi is a great spot for sushi in the Belltown neighborhood. Prices can be a bit high, but you get quality fish and relatively quick service. unlike many other good sushi place in Seattle, Wasabi has an EXTENSIVE list of rolls and other sushi dishes to choose from.

Sushi-ish

By MickeyDavis |

We may be getting jaded since there are so many great sushi choices in Seattle, but we just thought Wasabi wasn't trying hard enough. There wasn't anything "wrong" with the food, but it wasn't inspiring. We'd probably return with a discount coupon, but unlikely to if we're paying full fare.

They ruin good food by adding Mayonnaise to fresh crab!!!

By MikeRock23 |

Went last night and the late night happy hour should have been my first clue. Walked in at 9:00pm and the place was empty and the hostess said there was a 45 minute wait! Asked if we could sit at the bar and they were like sure any table. Service was ok, brought us our drinks but didn’t bother to pour our Sake. Had to put our dishes on the next table for them to be cleared. Food was not fresh hence why they have a late night happy our to get rid of it! Had a California roll that tasted like Tuna salad when we asked what it was made with the Manager told it was fresh crab so I asked what else was in it and he said Mayonnaise. This is where it got horrible the manager insisted that California rolls had Mayonnaise in them but then said that he doesn’t eat crab anyway. I have eaten Sushi all over the world and this place was a joke. I will give the Manager credit he offers us another roll and took it off the bill. IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT YOUR SUSHI DON’T GO HERE!

Best sushi I've had

By Steve L |

Was walking by while on a trip to Seattle and needed a sushi fix. This place did not disappoint. Complementary Edemame, fresh fish, good Sake list. My wife had the Ramen noodles and she claims they were the best she's ever eaten.

Good happy hour!

By Michael T |

We came her for happy hour. Staff was very friendly and everything was reasonably priced. The chirashi bowl was delicious and cheap. The rolls that we had were over fried and didn't taste too great, so don't get those.

Deeply recommended for Sushi and sashimi lovers

By Myriam Vitasse Frichet |

Very very good The food really good and fresh Nice sushi choice Very nice lounge atmosphere with a patio Not too expensive Perfect service A very nice cocktail selection

Best Japanese restaurant ever!

Try the crab sushi, its just crazy! I dont like raw fish, but this restaurant really converted me! The price is not so high as I was expecting. Good to go with spouse or friends. In a great location!!

What was once a great restaurant, is now quite poor

By SeattleBasedVagabond |

Over the years, we have been to Wasabi Bistro about 20 times. Originally it was easy for us to get there as we lived in Belltown. When we moved a few miles away Wasabi became a destination, something we almost dreamed about. Yesterday we visited w/o plans and were quite happy that we could get in w/o a wait. By the end of dinner, we realized why the restaurant was half empty. Wasabi has declined dramatically. Food: The California roll and the salmon sashimi were appropriately yummy. The spicy tuna roll (formerly quite good) was a bit off and something I couldn't finish. The butter fish (black cod) wasn't buttery. It looked right, but tasted fairly bland, a bit fishy, and definitely not what it should have. Service: Each time we wanted our server...she was no where to be found...or was busy chatting with colleagues by the bar, ignoring us. When she did come, she was cold. Towards the end of our dinner, someone dressed and acting like the manager stopped by to ask "How was your dinner?". My response, while not damning, was of the sort that in most situations would have led to either an apology or follow-on questions. In this case, the manager basically just walked away. Prices: Wasabi has always been moderately expensive, thus in the past we've tried to get there at happy hour. But even when we missed happy hour, the quality of the food has always been worth the price. The prices are higher now than they've ever been. E.G. $3.50 per piece of Salmon Sashimi. So, let's summarize: Expensive, Poor Service, Some Good Food but Some Not So Good. Wasabi Bistro...what happened to the place we loved? We are sad for the loss...as we won't be returning.

Great food at reasonable prices

By Dark city |

This is a lively restaurant in Seattle. Good crowds, great staff, and the food we ate was delicious. Nigiri, rolls, yes all good. Great place for a late bite

Great Happy Hour!

Best Happy Hour! Perfect day date, the food was so tasty we will definitely be back next time we are in Seattle!

May Be The Best Izakaya In Seattle

By Philip G |

We had an amazing dinner at Wasabi with another couple. One half of the couple was very familiar with Japanese cuisine. She thought the food was incredible, and that's someone who should know. I always enjoyed the kitchen at Wasabi, especially after I was in quarantine with Covid. My wife brought in food from different Izakayas in the Downtown, South Lake Union, and Belltown neighborhoods of Seattle. She did not tell me where they were from. After my ten day blind tasting, (quarantine) I told her which night was my favorite. It was the evening she did take out from Wasabi Sushi & Izakaya. Alex, the finest bar manager in America, always takes good care of us, but he takes good care of everybody. Ask for him! He reminds me of old school Maitre d's in my hometown of NYC. Alex is always welcoming, but in addition to his gregarious personality, he's hard-working, competent and knowledgeable. In the restaurant industry, that combination is priceless. He advises us on the menu, and he's spot on. Wasabi, although well known amongst the weekend partiers on 2nd Avenue in Belltown, is a hidden gem for foodies. The flashy decor belies a serious kitchen. Wasabi may be the best Izakaya in Seattle.

Tasty fish

By warren D |

The “cooks“ here or not as well trained as those in Japan, but the fish is tasty and some of the rolls are unique. Worth a try

Delicious

By arnonyogev |

I return to Wasabi's every time I visit Seattle. The Green Decadence is the best vegetarian roll I had, and the shetake gioza is also delicious.

It was okay

By rytag |

Food was okay, it was pretty generic sushi you can get at a all you can eat! The place was very nice looking but the service could have been better, the waiter didn’t tell us his name nor did he recommend anything.... He kept nagging us about drinks making us feel obligated to buy a drink. I would only recommend this place for the atmosphere but not the service or food!

have the mushroom dumplings!

By N D |

Had a lovely dining experience. I enjoyed my food, especially the mushroom dumplings which tasted wonderful! They were able to accommodate my friend's power chair and allergies. The lighting was rather low, but the service was excellent.

Great Sushi!

By John Mark S |

I dropped in alone while on a trip for a job interview. The service was great and the Volcano roll was delicious. It was one of the best rolls I've had in years. I would happily return.

Excellent sushi

By Ian H |

Great service and excellent food. Not cheap but well worth it. I wanted a bourbon and ginger ale and they made it but it tasted terrible because they did not have ginger ale and tried to fake it.

Fish quality was good but rolls were made too large to fit into your mouth

By Eliza |

My shrimp tempura roll was wrapped in such a way that it was too thick to fit into your mouth comfortably for a single bite, but you also could not bite it in half because the seaweed was too thick. It made the roll really hard to enjoy as you couldn't get the benefits of all the flavours at once. The salmon sashimi was excellent, and service was quick.

Excellent

By isa |

Excellent Japanese food, authentic and fab quality. We order gyozas, mushroom dumplings, Hamachi carpaccio , edamame, sushi, miso soup and ramen.

Great Sushi

By JezGreen |

Went to Wasabi with some friends and the food was great. The avocado kamikazes were a great dish. I also had a flight of Sake which was great to try and surprisingly got a good measure of each. Disappointingly the service could have been a bit better. The waiter forgot a Miso soup and didn't return to take further drink orders as promised. This being said the staff were busy so may have been understaffed tonight. That being said the great food made up for it and would definitely recommend

Excellent quality and imagination in the plate.

By DanInFrance |

Excellent service and nice trendy decoration but the best was the excellent quality and choice of food. A place to return to.

Great food!

By Jennifer C |

The sushi was awesome! Large portions for the tempura rolls (beware)! Modern atmosphere. White table cloths. Average service though...the guy had no recommendations (or told us we were ordering WAY too much for a couple); he maybe said five words the entire time. The manager was friendly and capable, though!

Top notch

By lesliebauman |

We are big sushi fans and hadn’t been here in years. Pleasant rediscovery. The hamachi carpaccio was as good as any we’ve had. Sashimi platter excellent. Cucumber rolls instead of rice was a nice touch. And the mango cheesecake delicious. Fresh cuts. Good wine and sake too.

my favorite Seattle sushi

By Wetwater |

there may be newer and trendier sushi restaurants in Belltown, but Wasabi is consistently outstanding. the food, the servers, the atmosphere - all top notch.

Great every time

By Dan Straiker |

I've been coming here for years and it remains a staple. It can get pretty busy sometimes and the wait can be long during peak hours. Regardless, it's worth it. Excellent quality and great service!

second choice turned out ok

By janeteshaw |

We planned to eat at Shiro's but 2 of us arriving at 5:30 with no reservations didn't work out, so we tried Wasabi. Happy Hour prices made it good value, the food was OK but service quite slow. Busy evening here too. Spinach salad was great. Tempura good and sushi OK. Staff friendly and well behaved celebrating Seahawks fans. Love Seattle! Really loud.

Good food but over seasoned

By mcuktravel |

The food offered here is above average value for money with generous appetiser portion sizes. Fantastic beef short rib appetiser, would recommend it. Spicy tuna sushi was okay, although the texture of the tuna was unusual. We also had a belly pork roll which was tasty but over-seasoned. Service was good however chaotic atmosphere from the bar area let the experience down. Dining area and bar area felt weirdly divided.

review of wasabi resturant in Seatle

By ivarper |

This resturant presents itself as a sushi bar. Wasabi is not a sushi bar but a mixture a noisy bar and a sushi bar. The sushi is dreadful, thick old fish and can barely be digested. If you want a margarita, it is fine, if you want good sushi, stay away. I think it is one of the worst sushi bars I have a visited and I have visited a lot.

Come here for Happy Hour

By Huyzee |

I only come here for happy hour when I'm craving some late night sushi. You can't beat what's on the menu. $14 for a combination of 3 dishes is a steal! $7 for a sashimi set is awesome, escolar, salmon, and tuna, its doesn't get any better when they give you huge juicy cuts. They only thing that is disappointing is that ever since the renovation a few years ago, they took cocktails off the happy hour menu.

Tasty belltown sushi!

By Lynn N |

DELICIOUS!!! We loved the Tokyo trio! It's a must! Lots of selection and unique offerings! Service was a bit lacking. But besides that we had a great time.

Great food great service

By Kim-Lock Pang |

The atmosphere at the restaurant was comfortable. The service was excellent! The food outstanding! The crab soup was really delicious. Sashimi was very fresh and the noodle dishes very tasty. Highly recommend!

Amazing Sushi & Delicious Entrees

Nothing beats the happy hour at this restaurant I went with my fiance and we had so much fun and the location, staff, food all 5 stars for us. We will be making a reservation again.

Tasty Sushi

By Bhajji |

A good place to eat before going to the Moore Theater or to the movies. Very tasty sushi and the seaweed salad was also tasty.

Good happy hour menu

By Tommy72A |

Great service, friendly servers. Happy hour menu item is decent. I though it lacked authenticity but i think they are going for the fusion style. Give it a try.

Best Sushi and Awesome Happy Hour

By Tori Hendricks |

The sushi here is insane and the happy hour is awesome. 10/10 recommend for anyone visiting Seattle.

Excellent sushi - worth the short hike from downtown.

By Planeredrabbit |

This place is a bit of a walk from downtown Seattle and certain routes can take you through some ‘interesting’ streets but boy is it worth it. Beautiful sushi, sashimi and more. Whilst it can feel a bit like sitting in a club for dinner (loud music, dim lighting) again, it is 100% worth it…..especially if you can hit a happy hour time slot…..it makes such good food a bargain! Our waiter was excellent providing good advice on both food and drink choices and pleasant to talk with too.

Good Sushi - Tired Decor

By Samantha |

If I could, I would give them a 3.5 as the waiter I had was really wonderful and the food was good but not spectacular. The decor was a tired modern take on, well, I am not sure what. They have high chairs and I actually asked to be moved to a typical height and they accommodated me. I travel a lot for work and often, being a one can mean a crummy table and poor service. That was not the case here. I have only been here once and would try it again and likely try some other sushi but I was surprised they didn't have more unusual choices. My uni was not the freshest but everything else was really fresh and well presented. I would suggest having the basics before jumping in to the tricked up rolls. I did love the outdoor seating and I was there around 9:00 and never felt rushed or ignore. It was good, not great.

Nice Restaurnt!

By 2012J_R |

Love Wasabi Bistro! Great ambiance, drinks and of course Sushi! Their Saki Martini's are so good and another favorite is the Spicy Crab Soup! They also have a great Happy Hour.

Great Food and Friendly Service

By sfarley |

We were in Seattle for an overnight stay while on vacation and couldn’t get a seat at Shiro’s. As luck would have it, we were within walking distance of Wasabi. My wife wanted Ramen and we confirmed they had some on the menu. We made reservations for two and then... After a 20 minute walk and a stop by Pike’s Market we arrived at Wasabi. They have a small number of tables outside and then a medium-to-large dining area that has a bar as the center of the space. We ordered some Sashimi and two Tonkotsu Ramen soups. The sashimi was very fresh and came in large pieces. We ordered 12 pieces, so when combined with the ramen it was way too much food. We ate eel, salmon and tuna sashimi, which was very fresh. The ramen was also great. A good sized bowl with traditional ramen noodles and some large pieces of pork belly. Taste was a little spicy, but delicious. Also the service was good. The manager checked on us a few times, and we never had to wait too long to move onto the next phase of our meal. I would definitely eat here again and I think we were pretty lucky to be able to find this place with a google search.

Great Japanese fair and service

By Brenda J |

We had so many choices in Seattle but wanted good sushi and liked some of the reviews we saw here. It was my husband's birthday and his first time in Seattle and he is of Japanese decent (second generation). We were thrilled with the food, especially the spice level. It was great low lighting and ambience and great food. Thanks to Casey H for great service and the wonderful dessert for my husband. Would highly suggest you check this place out!

Excellent value

By Bernard B |

Great happy hour for nigiri sushi and drinks. Party of three, 3 plates each, 2 drinks each. $80 including tip. Can't beat that!

Fantastic Fresh Sushi

By Coastal_NC |

We went for dinner after a long day of meetings and based on a local recommendation. Since we were on east coast time, our dinner time was their Happy Hour. They have a great Happy Hour menu and the prices can't be beat. We ordered a sashimi B platter and it was so good that we had to get a second. We also ordered a number of rolls that were each fantastic in their own right. I would highly recommend if you're in the area for some really fresh and amazing sushi. Service was also spot on.

Slick and tasty-pros and cons

By ducklakedaniel |

We were in Seattle for show, and we’re looking for something special and different. We certainly found what we were looking for in the wasabi bistro. Pros-this place is everything one would expect from the menu and the décor. Not too fancy yet definitely higher end. We each had a martini, of sorts. My wife’s pineapple version of a lemon drop and my cucumber wasabi “fareaster” were almost worth the trip themselves. My wife opted for a taco-ish form of sushi and I went for a special roll. Both dishes are unique, tasty and classy in their presentation. Everything balanced well and the service, table and atmosphere was classy without being stuffy. Cons-I suspect that such fancy drinks in downtown Seattle often carry a hefty price tag. I am not complaining mind you, but the prices are a Tad on the higher end. The only other thing that could possibly be considered a con, would be something to say for most places in Belltown… And that is that if you’re looking to make a spontaneous decision you may be out of luck. They were able to squeeze us in and I do appreciate that. Bottom line, for a foodie, Belltown is nirvana (pun definitely intended) and this place is just as it appears, higher end, fancy, yummy and a real treat.

Good Sushi, Terrible Service

By JohnG36 |

Felt the food was very good, especially a few of their tempura rolls. Pricing seemed high and so did their drink prices. Based upon the cost it wouldn't have been an issue if the service was good. Everything about the service was slow and somewhat rude.

Really good place

By Luisa B |

I am here at a suggestion from a friend and local of Seattle and I loved it. We ordered the calamari and some beef and it was great, the rolls were delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful as well. Great sushi place with fresh fish in Seattle.

Awesome!!! Even on a busy Saturday

By jejri418 |

From the start, Wasabi looks the part of a cool sushi place - modern decor with clean lines. We sat at the sushi bar and watched the staff create masterpieces for a few hours. They interacted with us and were gracious in explaining their craft. Our server was polite, helpful, funny & competent! The sushi was some of the most beautiful & delicious that I have had anywhere. Dinner included Miso soup, grilled chicken yuanyaki, California roll, Asian aristocrat roll & promiscuous princess roll (terrible name but a phenomenal non-traditional roll). Drinks included Sapporo on tap, sake & shochu (loosely described as Japanese vodka). Try the sugarcane style - Jougo. I would definitely return to Wasabi.

Happy hour!

By Foodie4Life1982 |

This restaurant claims to have an amazing happy hour and they are RIGHT! We ordered a few rolls and some miso soup, which were all amazing. The complimentary edamamme were tasty and they had a great selection of whisk(e) ys. Service was also wonderful! We will be back!

Best Sushi in Seattle

By Sarah |

My family loves sushi and Wasabi takes the cake! This is an amazing restaurant that deserves your business. I highly recommend hitting their Happy Hour for unbelievably amazing food and drinks. The sushi was extremely fresh and the cooked items were cooked to perfection. If you go here, make sure to get the pork belly appetizer! It was so good! And for dessert, do yourself a favor and get the mango cheesecake! Side note, this place has an amazing vibe as well. Great music, upscale design and decor, and extremely friendly staff. 1000/10

Very noisy place

By Natalia A |

We were there for dinner but we did not have dinner!!! The ambience was so noisy, unbelievable! We couldn't not hear each other sitting face to face . So we just ordered a one shrimp tempura roll and just left ! Btw , the roll was not fresh and the rice from roll was sour :(, very disappointed

We came to this restaurant NYE for a early evening snack and were blown away by the fresh and amazing selection of sushi... the sashimi taco and the spider rolls blew my mind. Great service and atmosphere. will defiantly come back on my next visit to this wonderful city!

Great sushi and good service.

By Mvanting |

Came here to celebrate my son’s 15th birthday and he wanted sushi. We got a nigiri special and some rolls. Their California roll was really good and the other was good too. Wine list was ok. Service was good and fast and they offered free dessert for the birthday boy but he was too full from the sushi

Happy hour treats

By Hakimom |

TA reviews got us here for our first visit to Seattle and the first meal of our trip. No disappointment here! Nice modern setting, clean and located walking distance in the heart of Belltown. Top notch service from a friendly server who was attentive without being overbearing and kept our table full of food drink. We sampled several happy hour items, many upon recommendation. Sliders, wings, dumplings, poke ahi tuna, assorted drinks. Everything was fresh, tasty and served hot. Good portions and good value priced happy hour. Will definitely return to try the sushi. Give Wasabi a go.

Best. Sushi. Ever.

By elfortune |

Amazing food. Seriously awesome. The white rabbit roll was soo good. And the green tea tiramisu was excellent too. My fav sushi place. Fun atmosphere too. I took kids and it was fine. Highly recommend.

Very groovin sushi!

By 24theworld |

I had the Godzilla eel and avocado roll which was very delicious. I also had the Salmon skin roll which was very good. I ate at the bar and it was not too loud so the atmosphere was good.

Excellent Japanese food and sake

By Theo B |

Looking for a nice intimate Japanese food experience? This is it. Wonderful selection of sushi and soba. Various sake samples and Suntory to top it off. Place is small but cozy. Within walking distance of most downtown hotels.

Amazing sushi. Gluten free friendly!

By restless1ne |

The restaurant was busy on a Sunday night at 8pm which tells you something. We sat the bar where you could watch the chefs work on preparing the sushi. This is a nice new restaurant with chic furnishing. The menu was excellent - a large variety of affordable sushi rolls to choose from for anywhere from $7-16 and an entire page of gluten free sushi options! I ate with my girlfriend and after 2-3 sushi rolls each, a glass of wine each, and a large dessert (the apple roll), our meal was $80 including tip. Having been a long time sushi lover I can honestly say that this was my best sushi experience for both taste and value and I'd be back tomorrow if I could.

Good food, great ambiance & my kid loves it, so it's a plus!! No long waits, waiter was very helpful in giving me ideas on their specialty.

Scrumptious Sushi

By bamajewels |

We ended up here because we couldn't find a parking spot at the place we'd intended to go. Lucky us! Our food was very good. The menu is extensive! Our waiter was helpful as we made our selections. The atmosphere is nice - upscale downtown, but there were families with children in the restaurant.

Great Happy Hour!

By dralbertfish |

This has become my favorite sushi restaurant in Belltown. The restaurant is very well decorated with outside seating, a nice bar area, and a lovely dining room. It also has a sushi bar. We go there for happy hour and it's nice that you can enjoy that in the entire restaurant and not just the bar. The service is always excellent; special kudos to Nicholas who always makes us welcome and is attentive. The food has always been superb. My favorite is the Nigiri B and the volcano roll. My wife has tried several different rolls and been pleased with all of them. On a hot summer day, the IPA or cider is served in refrigerated glasses. It's a great sushi value, especially for happy hour.

Early dinner before a show.

By Eileen D |

The service was excellent and over and above what was expected. At the end of our meal, the Maitre d went outside to hail us a ab so we could be on time. We enjoyed our selections and totally appreciated the waiter's advice. The creme brûlée was exceptionally good. I will return.

Everything was so amazing.

By DC Cohen |

Wow! The udon noddles were brilliant so delicious! The pork ramen was incredible, the noodles just so tasty, so well cocked. The mushroom dumplings were so amazing, we haven’t had this dumplings before and it was so delicious, remind us a bit of Ravioli. The Gyoza, just amazing.. I really love the way it served, very tasty! The pork belly just unbelievable, just make the perfect bite with the caramelized onion, spicy mayo inside the lettuce, just epic. About the sushi, it was tasty. The restaurant absolutely surprised us so much, we haven’t expected for such an amazing food. So creative. I would definitely recommend. Also, the atmosphere is great and the prices are much cheaper than I thought. Great place to have a delicious Asian dinner.

Loved the Seattle Roll

By Chuck R |

Very nice Japanese Restaurant. We loved the sushi and particularly the Seattle Roll. The roll itself was half rapped in fresh salmon. It was excellent. They were nice enough to squeeze us in on a Friday Night without a reservation, but I would recommend a reservation on the weekend.

Divine Japanese in Seattle

By Shanku02 |

Cold and hungry, we entered as we were walking past the restaurant and the warm welcome made us stay for dinner. That was just a start. Attentive service and brilliant food really made the evening special for us both. The black cod, fried tofu and the hamachi ceviche were the highlights on our table. Totally worth a visit!

Great sushi & service

By Meia C |

After relocating from Seattle to the Southeast. I never knew how different sushi is. The seafood is fresh and perfect to the taste. The calamari salad and I switch between spicy rolls. My favorite delicacy is the green Tiramisu. Lovvvvvveee! I basically almost ordered that first before my food. I couldn't wait to get to my dessert. Great sushi

We tried several appetizers and maki and enjoyed all of them. I would definitely come back to try more sushi - the quality of the food was great and service was good as well.

The atmosphere were very good, the layout colour contrast was well done, service was quick and didn't take long to take all our orders. There were alot of people fasting including myself and the food was given just in time and warm. Food was delicious. There was an annoying kid screaming alot behind us but Im not gonna knock points of this place especially it's service.

Great sushi!

My wife and I went here on our way walking to the space needle. We came in spur of the moment. We got a seat right away and the sushi was actually really good! Miso soup was tasty. I like that in the endamame was free - most sushi places I've been have that as a menu item. We got California roll, spicy tuna roll, shrimp tempura roll, and the Seattle roll. spicy tuna roll was very spicy but All were very good. Would consider coming back here if we are in Seattle again.

Best for Happy Hour

By Carol Banks Weber |

We arrived after 10 p.m. on a random Wednesday, following a show. The late-night Happy Hour (10 p.m. till closing) menu was very welcome, as was the air conditioning on a hot summer night. Everything I look for in a Japanese restaurant was in this Happy Hour menu, save one or two items. (Nobody does yakitori anymore, and where is the soba?) They had my spicy tuna roll, steamed, seared gyoza, and tonkotsu ramen. Before we even ordered, our serve set down a small plate of lighted salted edamame. We also got a large bottle of iced water and two glasses. Like someone else mentioned, though, the rolls tend to be large. And the small plate had a section on it that was too small for the wasabi/soy mix. Otherwise, a nice mix of sushi if a tad on the fancy side.
