We had the most amazing avocado toast at the waterbar The service was very good they have really good coffee and the views are amazing This restaurant is right in Pacific beach looking out to the ocean M

Nice view of the ocean with local music. Food was OK but nothing spectacular. Water Themed Interior but nice and cool also.

we stopped off for a drink whilst walking the Ocean Boulevard. great venue sat in the window overlooking the beach and ocean. decided to have a snack and had the fried sprouts, fantastic!! great service from Kelsey.

PB has gone upscale with the introduction of the Waterbar, next to the divey Shore Club and where Joe's crab shack used to be. The location is great, with views of the ocean across the parking lot, especially with the main area on the second floor. The menu is extremely pricey and everything has a spicy flair to it. As with many places here, the restaurant turns into a club at night with lots of teens and twenties. The bottom line is that it is vastly overpriced and slick, which does not make for an enjoyable PB experience.

Had the fish sampler for 4. Crab Legs, oysters, white fish ceviche. Great selection, with a perfect view. More upscale than surrounding spots. I’ll be back.

The Waterbar opened a few months ago and is a popular spot. Definitely make a reservation! Food was good. Service is slow because this place is jumping therefore noisy. Lots of young people!

Great views and right on the boardwalk. 2 bars with cocktails and general drinks Good seafood options . Prices are good our server Alyssa was lovely . Good quick service. Sports on the tv. Good crowd. Enjoyed our dinner. If your from out of town worth a look.

Ate here with a group of out of town friends Food was very good and service was excellent. Recommend all of the fish dishes and the Waterburger is excellent!

We came here for a drink after lunch and the place was packed - we were here during holiday season, so...... plenty of drinks to choose from, lots of different sports on tv, great view

Great place for dinner after watching the sun go down. The tacos were $2.50 each and amazing! My steak was amazing and my wife’s burger very good!

We enjoyed our first night in San Diego by having dinner at the Water Bar. We chose it for the nice selection of food choices on their menu and the spectacular view of the sunset!

We visited the waterbar whilst staying in Pacific beach and loved it! The location is incredible for sunset overlooking the beach, the food was excellent (squid and fish tacos were amazing) and all staff were really welcoming and friendly. Definitely go here if you’re in Pacific beach!

Not the biggest bargain on the beach but arguably one of the best views and outstanding quality food. We were seated promptly (made online reservation and asked for ocean view). Affordable wine choices and the food and service was excellent.

We stopped here for a drink while walking around this area. They have $6 Kettle One Moscow Mules during happy hour. Good bartenders. The atmosphere is great - the space is huge and clean, has lots of windows, and overlooks the ocean. Didn’t eat here.

The bartender overcharged me for my Prosecco. When I asked him about it, he said it was because of tax and surcharge. But the numbers did not add up. I suggest you review your receipt carefully. The surcharge an extra 4% for "inflation."

After a stroll along the promenade we found this bar near the pier. First impression is of the fabulous view of Pacific Beach, followed by the television screens on sports channels. I had the traditional seaside fish'n'chips, very tasty, my lady went for the Market Veg Curry which she thoroughly enjoyed, so if you want good food, friendly staff a great view of Pacific Beach this is unbeatable

Watched playoff football game there. Lots of tvs and great ocean views. My wife enjoyed her burger and I enjoyed the wing, although I wish they were more spicy. Overall I say with checking out!

We have local friends who suggested meeting at Waterbar. We lucked out with parking on the beach in front of the door. There is an elevator for the second floor location. We were warmly greeted and selected our table. We ordered drinks and after our friends arrived we had poke, cevechie, and grilled octopus. Everything was very good and the octopus perhaps the best we've ever had.

We visited them on their third day open. The calamari was excellent and the clam chowder. It was unique delicious and great. The service was excellent. For a new location they were very well staffed and prepared for customers One of the nices new locations on the beach. Strongly recommend them

Popped in on a Friday. It was early—around 6pm. The bar/restaurant was already full of the after work crowd and tourists. The place for the beautiful people. Aren’t we all? All age groups and social class appeared to be enjoying themselves. Didn’t eat any food, but friends said it was good. Decent portions. Cocktails were strong and there was a good selection of local craft beers. Two bars within the big open dining room. Bar at end had TVs above. Above them was a catwalk for access to other liquors. Service was okay. Could have been better. They did open the windows facing the beach. I’d definitely return. And maybe try the food.

1st place we stopped for the cool view-had some tacos specials-the fish tacos were great. The view was amazing. It was the 1st time we had seen dolphins off pacific beach-we could watch them from our seat-they were so close to the shore. Service was decent but the bartender kept getting distracted when we asked for something. Def worth a visit.

We came on a Sunday evening just before sunset which was beautiful. We were seated at a table by the window but even if you're seated off the window you can see the ocean and the restaurant is open and airy with great energy. The sweet potato curry was delicious, and my husband had the fresh fish which he said was cooked perfectly. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend!

Massive bar in Mission Beach on Ocean Blvd. Great selection of beers on tap and bottle. They will make any drink you want. Visited twice. Both time the burger was amazing. Second time had the chowder, and crab cake. Soup fantastic, but the crab cake was lacking. Saw we didn’t eat much, asked why and took it off the bill. Service great!!

Its was a really hot the weekend we went and despite being across the beach and steps away from sand, the interior was still very warm. But it has a high ceiling, a huge bar in the center and lots of seats by the huge windows (to better appreciate sd's blue waters). Food was good too and midpriced i think. The calamari was so yummy our table ordered 3 plates of that. There are plenty of long tables for bigger groups like ours (8 people) and staff are friendly and very helpful (we didnt encounter any snobs). We were there for a birthday and our server even helped me serve my small cake, and provided us with small plates to eat it on. She even split the bill into 3 groups. Vibe here is relaxed. More of boardshorts and flipflops and no heels. Alas, no advance reservations are possible and parking can be a matter of luck if you don't wish to walk far.

This has become a favorite place for me in PB, because anytime I come in, night or day, I'm always treated well by the staff, and I love the vibe and atmosphere in general. The food is always on point as well.

The wife and i had dinner there one evening. The food was good, but the costs are expensive. We had the calamari appetizer and then fish and chips and shredded chicken tacos for mains. The sunset was amazing, as the resto is right on the bech and on the second floor.

My husband and I went here with our son during our visit to San Diego while we were relocating him out here. Waterbar was recommended by one of his peers. This place was hopping on a Sunday night. It's an open air restaurant bar and we were able to see a beautiful San Diego sunset as we were eating. There were two bars situated in the place with high tables all around to eat and/or drink. There was even a live DJ upstairs. Great place for a young crowd. Took a star away only because my fish (and chips) were really soggy. All in all...a fun place to go.

With a magnificent ocean view, this is a great meeting spot. The bar is clean and well run. I haven't yet tried the food.

We knew nothing about the place when we went for dinner; it was very convenient to where we were staying at The Beach Cottages. Looking online, there was mention that there was live entertainment, and that's what made us decide to go. The food was good, service was excellent, and there was a good selection of beer and wine. We did like the entertainer, and obviously made sufficient impression on her that she commented on having noticed us applauding when we spoke to her as she was leaving. Definitely a place to keep in mind if you're in the Pacific Beach location. It's huge inside, and I'm sure there's a fabulous view when the sun's up!

The food, the service and view were all spectacular . The restaurant is on the second floor and is tiered so you can see out the large open windows from most seats . A great place to eat and watch the sunset . The menu was seafood and California fare and was reasonably priced and very good . The service was quick and efficient without being pushy .

The location on PB is amazing and the food is not bad at all. I loved their calamari that you need to try. The servers were very friendly too.

Great food with an incredible view! We had a great meal for lunch with the family. The food was great, our server was awesome and the location was incredible. We were able to sit at an open window right off the ocean, doesn’t get better than that!!!

The 2nd story restaurant provides a great location for sunset dining and the menu allows for a wide spread of price ranges. The service was quick and friendly and the food was very good. Portions were even bigger than we expected. The scallop ceviche appetizer was HUGE and very fresh. Fish tacos, fish and chips, wedge salad and shrimp tacos were all a hit.

We were there for the 1st time on Sunday for the Mother's Day Brunch. It was fabulous! The views were great! The service was excellent and the food was delicious! It was nice because it wasn't a "zoo" and it was reasonable priced. We were a party of 12 and they accommodated us really well! I was impressed! I'm truly looking forward to frequenting it even more. For cocktails, etc........ Thank you!

I was here visiting a friend and we did dinner and drinks. Food was great and service was also good. Very pretty view if you get a seat by the ocean. Would definitely return

The host who was a security guard was nice which is why we decided to eat there. The waiter was not very friendly and was staring at my chest the whole time. But mostly the one-star is because it was so bad. The clam chowder tasted like thick gravy and not like clam chowder at all. They did not even have a blended margarita. tmThey had "a special $15 watermelon margarita" that clearly came from a machine and served in a plastic cup. The whole meal was just horrible. It was over $70 for: 1 clam chowder, 1 fish taco meal, 1 kids meal 1 beer and 1 margarita. I would pay that if the food was good but we will never ever ever go there again. What a joke.

For a place that could survive just being a fun, trendy bar, this place also has really great food! Lots of people of all ages at the two large bars. Food was really good: pork belly toast, corn fritters, chowder were all delicious. My husband had a steak that was cooked perfectly and really good. Another couple had the rockfish that they said was delicious. Drink specials on one of the nights we were there. Service was great: server knew the menu and was very helpful explaining it. Highly recommend.

This was my first time here. It was my husband and I, my mother in law, and our 8 year old. Our dining experience was amazing. The atmosphere and views were great, the sever Molly was friendly and hospitable, and the food was delicious! Highly recommend!

Just wandered in late at night looking for a nice dinner and went upstairs. Great drinks and great service (Thanks, Makena...we own a restaurant in Mexico and we wish we could take you back with us...you're excellent!). Wife had carnitas tacos and I splurged and had their nacho french fries. Evil good. Thanks for the nice evening!

We enjoyed our food, the view, and the very helpful serving staff at Waterbar. The only concern was the noise level, which was high.

The music very loud. It's hard to carry on a conversation with the music going. The food was very good, and I had the Catch of the Day which was Seabass. My husband had the salmon and he enjoyed it also. Turn on the table. Portion size was appropriate for most people. None of us had anything to take home in doggie bags. The wines on the menu were tasty and complemented the meal well. We chose a red blend. The server was pleasant and helpful in choosing wines give us a sample before we ordered the wine.

6 couples walking the board walk and stopped for lunch at the waterfront. Got seating on open window side facing board walk and ocean. Service was great and everyone’s orders were great. Quite a variety from white fish sandwich to turf and surf fries you won’t be disappointed.

Came here for dinner and shared a selection of appetizers and tacos. We had delicious food. Loved the beet salad and the fried Brussel sprouts, the shrimp was good too. Tacos were fine. Bar was a bit loud for dining but the service was great. Our server recommended her favourites on the menu and we were really pleased with our meal. Worth a visit and would be really fun with a group of friends!

Wha a nice spot! Great view with large windows that open up for fresh air. You can see and hear the sights of the boardwalk below. We had breakfast and was very good, reasonably priced. I will go back for sunset and happy hour.

Saw an ad in a flyer or paper. We were intrigued by the menu and went one evening to try it out. It was so loud that we didn't even stay. We had to yell to communicate with the hostess. Since we were not interested in yelling at each other over dinner, we left. This might be a good place to go for drinks and appetizers but don't expect to be able to communicate with each other. I've decided to start reviewing restaurants not only for their food and service but also for their noise levels. My hope is that the restaurants will start to pay attention to the noise levels that they are exposing their guests and employees to.

Can't say enough good things about this place. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was perfect. Very nice and laid back. We will be back! Wait staff could be a little more attentive. They were very distracted with the younger crowd and was hard to get their attention.

Great spot to meet friends, have a drink and view the surf. Food was spot on and service was just right. Totally stoked to go back again soon!

We were there right after the AFC championship had ended. The music was very loud. We had the seafood platter for two appetizer and broccoli. The broccoli was barely warm and raw. The crab was tasteless. We did enjoy the ceviche and oysters. The service was mediocre. The busboy was the friendless employee in the place.

If you are looking for good food with a view this is the place at PB. We went in a Friday night and were told the wait for a table at the window would be 45 minutes. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks and an appetizer. Our table was ready before the appetizer came. The service was good. The food came out fairly quick for a Friday. My husband had the lobster roll which looked amazing. I had fish in chips which was also tasty. The drinks were good and the sunset was spectacular!

Stopped by while walking the beach. The food was unbelievable!! Eggs cooked to prefection!! Devon was the best in wait staff.

First impressions were good. All those we met were friendly, happy smiley helpful people. There was a great atmosphere. Lots of happy people enjoying themselves. We ordered an array of food across our group of seven. Everyone said their own meal was excellent. Choice of draft beers in particular was impressive. The venue is on the second floor and overlooks the Pacific. Stunning! Overall it was the perfect New Year's Eve for all. Thank you.

Rema was our waitress and she was wonderful! First time for us here and it is a great place! Waterbar is beautiful! Calamari and the wedge salad were terrific. Sat by the window for an excellent view!

Excellent food right on the beach. Friendly waitstaff accommodating of our crazy kids. We had calamari, beet salad and fish and chips. All delicious.

Terrible hospitality. Was polite as could be as I waited for friends, but all my coworkers wanted to leave due to poor treatment, Tried to be nice but security wants to look tough. Good Luck if you just want to chill out!

The atmosphere was really cool. Love the windows that open to the ocean. They had live music playing as well. We had lunch on a Friday and were able to get right in. Drinks were ehhhh but the food was delicious.

Great place to wait out the rain. Upstairs. We were there about 3pm, not many people there. The Louie was very different, fish n chips not real good, I would go for the ocean view, not the food. Kelsey was very good waitress.

Unfortunately for us, we tried Waterbar on the day after July 4th. They were only serving items off of a special "July 4th weekend menu". Not a day menu, but an entire July 4th weekend menu. Bummer! There was 4 in my party, 2 adults and 2 children. The kiddos ordered a cheeseburger meal and a fried shrimp meal. The shrimp meal was favored a little more then the burger. The kid only ate half of the burger. The adults ordered fish tacos to start. Delicious but small and overpriced. Dad ordered the Shrimp Po Boy with a side salad. He LOVED his Po Boy, in particular the French bread it came on. He also opted for a side salad instead of fries. His side salad was scrumptious. The romaine lettuce was super fresh, it featured chopped asparagus, tomatoes, cucumbers and onions. It was sooo good. That brings me to my entree. I ordered some sort of entree salad for $12, added what I thought would be a skewer of grilled shrimp for $11. My salad was the exact same salad as my partners (the side salad) with the exception of the size and my salad having little chunks of aged white cheddar. Everything else was the same (lettuce, asparagus, tomatoes, cucumbers). I asked the server before ordering if the grilled shrimp came on a skewer because I did not want them all over my salad. I wanted them on the side to ensure the lettuce wouldn't wilt from the heat. When I received it, the shrimp were indeed all over the salad and the majority of the lettuce was wilted from the heat. I ate it anyway, it was good but I wouldn't order it again.

I came to this place based on a reccomendation and it did not disappoint. Excellant food. To start with I had the pork belly on toast which was visually very appealing and tasted great, albeit the cheese rather overpowered the taste of the pork belly. Next I had the tuna poke which tastes really fabulous, delicious and fresh. The toasted seaweed it came with was an excellent accompaniment and I will definitely be using that idea in future cooking!

Everything was delicious—Hearts of palm salad, avocado toast, burger and mamosas. Great service, great view and wonderful friends made it a great brunch. I highly recommend Waterbar.

I had the sea bass, which was excellent. The initial service and food deliver was good. We then waited forever before getting asked about dessert. But when the dessert was delivered, after another lengthy wait (a scoop of ice cream), the desert was comped. Not quite all forgiven, but they realized they'd screwed up and tried to make it right.

Had lunch here in March 2018, and my family enjoyed it. I started with a cup of clam chowder...with chunks of fingerling potatoes and pork belly. YUM! Also had a house specialty, the Waterbar Burger which had crabmeat (a lot) and crispy pork, with an ancho remoulade. The flavors married nicely, it was quite good. Our party also had a shrimp po'boy, and a lobster roll. All items prepared and presented, and served in a timely fashion. Good service is important to me, personally, and it was top flight. Go. Now!

Fantastic view of the boardwalk, the Pacific Ocean, great bar and decor, friendly service, broad menus ( huge green mussels from NZ). Perfect for lunch or sunset.

Right on the ocean with Fabulous views Beautifully decorated with an open atmosphere. Bar has a huge beer selection Only tried an appetizer fish tacos They were grilled and very good. Prices seemed average for the beach. Will definitely be back to try more food.

Impressive food for a bar/restaurant. Ahi Poke was fresh, ample, and paired well with Nori chips. Viking Skein cocktail is delicious! Happy hour (starting at 8pm) gives $7 cocktails. Definitely worth it.

This place was a great stop for our group of 20 who wanted to watch the sunset during happy hour. We had no clue where to go upon our arrival to this beach area and we found this place as we strolled the boardwalk. They have a huge space with great tables set up to watch the sun go down during happy hour. We did have some food and everyone enjoyed their meals - I highly recommend the brussel sprouts. The live band was a great touch when we watched the sun disappear into the ocean. Fun place with very nice staff and accomodations!

I came for dinner, solely due to a gift card for this spot. They have a good location, right on Mission Beach, at THOMAS Av. This is a bar that serves food. Dont go here expecting great food treats or fine cuisine, They serve your typical menu for a bar and grill. This place is loud, with about 10 TVs going, and no buffers for noise. I ordered scallops, which were very satisfactory, but certainly not worth$32. Glad I had my gift card! So, come here if you want to party or like the party vibe for drinking, don't come here for good food. Their food is mediocre, or average at best. NOTE this place is loud! Expect high noise, not able to converse much at dinner, PLUS About 7-10 TVs going, all the time

Our party of four had everything from beef to fish to vegetarian options, and everything was delcious with wonderful eye appeal. Located "upstairs" the dining room windows provide magnificent views of the ocean, especially at sunset. To add to the great dining experience, you simply couldn't ask for a more efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. You can be assured that on our next trip to San Diego, we will again visit the Waterbar!

We had brunch here while we watched NFL games. Brunch and drinks are great! Can’t beat the view of the Pacific or boardwalk if you sit by the window either. If we only had this meal would have given 5 stars. We came back for dinner another night and it was only ok. To be far it was getting close to time that they were changing over to be a club but I wouldn’t go back for dinner from my experience. We didn’t stay for it to turn into a club but a lot of younger (20’s) were coming in. Seemed to be the place to be if that was what you were looking for.

Great happy hour! Beautiful sunset view. Had the oysters and mussels and they were fantastic! Especially loved the broth with the mussels. Great cocktails

We went here to celebrate our Anniversary. The bar was fully stocked and even had some speciality drinks and the waitresses were very friendly and quick. We had a beautiful view of the ocean from our table. We both had the rockfish with coconut rice and mushrooms, excellent. Our waitress Christy was so sweet and she even brought us dessert to celebrate our special day. We will visit again when we come back to San Diego.

Great Louis salad with a glass of French rose. Service excellent and great view of the beach. Good variety cocktails

We stopped by for lunch, and everything was very good. Great service and very good food. We went back in the evening, and service was slow. The bartenders “short pour” the drinks. When mixed drinks arrive, they are in small glasses, mostly ice, and filled about 2/3 full. Nice view, and very clean. I would probably go back for lunch someday, but not for dinner and drinks.

Nice place to relax, people watch, watch the waves!! They have a large selection of beer whether draft, bottle or can. We had the fried seafood appetizer. It was delicious!! The service was great!! Will stop in again next trip.

Waterbar recently opened. The atmosphere is fun and upscale, the service is amazing, the food is delicious and the view is amazing! If you find yourself in the area, you should definitely plan on having lunch, drinks, dinner, or all of the above!

Nice place, top service, good and plentiful food, with a beautiful view of Pacific Beach. Two notes: at the beginning the place was a little noisy because there was a football match going on, and a little cold because the large glass windows were all open..

Gorgeous upstairs restaurant and bar. Large, open windows overlook the beach, Crystal pier and the setting sun. Ambiance is spot on. Two bars, beautifully kept and speedy service. Food was yummy!

FINALLY!! What a great feeling it is to go into a restaurant and get impeccable service. Our server Julia was friendly, communicative, thoughtful and present! Hats off to the management of this place to have made such a great hiring decision. I get so tired of service being downright bad- when it’s good it’s GREAT!! Thank you Julia! You will be seeing us again soon!

Went on a trip with friends for a long weekend & enjoyed the fish bowls along with one lunch. The sweet potato curry with coconut rice was heavenly. We sipped on the gingery taste of Poseidon’s fish bowel. Highly recommended! The views of the ocean are a little piece of paradise

Great option in pacific beach, where they converted their roof into a beautiful outdoor dining area (bi-level), with fantastic views and really good food. Pacific beach can be a bit sketchy with twenty-something bars and vagrants, but this was a clean, safe place right on the beach. We had a nice meal with 4 adults and 4 kids, who sat at separate table and were treated great by our nice waitress. Highly recommended.

Loved this seafood restaurant. Ordered an IPA with Lobster Roll and a Sushi Roll. They were both delicious. Nice view of the beach too

Came here for dinner and was impressed with the size and the view. We had a table by the window and could enjoy a bit of the ocean view, even post sunset. I ordered the seafood appetizer and was impressed with the size but the seafood seemed like it had been previously frozen as it had that wetness to the crabs. The oysters were outstanding and would definitely recommend!

This is a decent place to eat on Mission Bay/Pacific Beach. It is on the boardwalk. Music is loud, as is the ambiance. But if you're up for that, you'll enjoy the food.

We ate here for lunch while on business in San Diego. All of the window seats were taken so we sat at the bar. This would be a good sunset spot. The food was really good and prices were reasonable except it is $2 extra for an egg and $2 extra to add bacon to your burger. This seemed a little much. The service was a little slow because we sat at the bar and the bartender was very busy. It seemed like everyone in the restaurant was constantly ordering drinks. I would recommend eating here while in Pacific Beach.

Restaurant and bar steps away from the beach. Valet parking is $5 for 3 hrs. No reservations during the weekend so wait can be long for the tables overlooking the ocean (an hour). Menu includes seafood, poke, calamari, soups, salads, burgers. 2 bars inside with DJ, cocktails ($11-15) and beers are plenty. The poke was really good but small quantity. Fish tacos were ok. Seafood platter has a bit of everything ($54) includes 3 oysters, 3 clams, ceviche, small poke, 3 shrimp and small lobster tail. Calamari was ok also. Good place to cool down after spending all day at the beach or good spot for people watching.

Waterbar is a great bar and restaurant on its own. The service is good, the menu is diverse, the drinks and beer tap options are numerous. It would be pretty difficult to come here and not find something that you liked. But what really makes the bar special is its location and view of the water. That alone makes the bar worth a visit.

I have been to this restaurant multiple times for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have always received great service and excellent food! The ceviche is amazing as is the harvest bowl! The options are great for all meals! The restaurant has a great design and atmosphere, very clean and the large windows overlooking the ocean provide fresh air and a great view. The staff are so very nice and they go out of their way to be certain you are pleased with your food and drink. Can’t wait to go back!

Great lunch spot with open-to-the -sea tables. Service was great (well done Ash 😀). Food is yummy!! Seafood great. Loads of great beers. Good atmosphere. Would return in a heartbeat.

Love their upstairs dining area. Open windows allow for fresh ocean air and a gorgeous view of the sun setting on the Pacific.

Like to come here with friends... especially those visiting from out of town— the beachfront is great seating but gets pretty full quick. Great view, great bloodies, great time! 👍👍 love the brunch here

This is a great place that is a bit more upscale for the PB location. servers were so friendly and helpful . the views are spectacular ... right on the ocean !

Went with family for dinner while in San Diego for a visit. The view was amazing, literally on the beach. You can go in shorts and T-shirt’s, but not bathing suits. It’s a little more upscale than that. The seafood special was very good, but came with a few bites of broccoli and not the asparagus described by the wait staff. Also, the rice and sauce with the halibut tasted bland and you couldn’t tell why it was greenish/gray. The color was unappealing. Worth going just for the view!

Stopped by Waterbar after a walk on the beach for a little Sunday Funday drink and fell in love with the place. Amazing beachfront location with amazing views. Our bartender Jessica gave us some recommendations and the drink was spot on. We will be back soon for the Sunday Brunch. Beautiful place for a drink or food.

Ate lunch here on a Thursday afternoon in March, party of 5, everyone loved the food! This is a great place to have a cocktail and sit and watch the ocean or people watch. We did not have a reservation but got a table with no wait.

Our friend, who lives in the area, brought us here for lunch. The view is beautiful, right over the beach. The food was great, yet quite pricey (guess you're paying for the view?!) and our waitress was very friendly. It's a modern clean space and I'm sure it's even better when the weather allows them to open up the windows.

The Waterbar is a completely redone restaurant. Former site of Joe's Crab Shack ,nothing remains but a great location. Service staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Craft beers on tap, custom cocktails and lots of small plates perfect for sharing. I will stop back every visit to Pacific Beach!

We visited Waterbar last evening and were surprised that the food was so good for it’s PB location - right on the oceanfront with great views. Everything we had was fantastic - even the English Fish and Chips! - and the mussels and special (Mahi Mahi) were great, The wine / drinks list was excellent and the staff made our visit. Our server, Ali knew the food and drinks menu inside out and the duty manager managed a potentially difficult situation involving some other guests brilliantly. The only reason i didn’t give it 5 was that the reservation facility isn’t up and running - it wasn’t a real problem for us as we walked down to make our reservation but others may not be able to do this - great evening

Wonderful food... more adult than kid friendly atmosphere but they accommodated nicely regardless!! Staff was attentive and friendly.

Our server, Julia, had excellent recommendations for us. From drinks to appetizers to entrees, everything was wonderful. The catch of the day, Ono, was outstanding. Julia also recommended the Poblano Burger... absolutely delicious. We had the manager, Luke, visit our table so we could tell him how much we enjoyed our meal and how terrific Julia was. Luke shared with us that the restaurant had been seeking to appeal a bit more to the over-30 crowd. We assured him they are succeeding! Highly recommend both for the food and the service!

Great place for a date, ocean views, free street parking close by. great food and ambiance. Reserve a window seat and order a nice meal and walk the promenade afterwards. Recommended MeuterMedia

Stayed nearby for 5 nights always lively spot when we would walk by. Liked it so much went twice for supper. Yummy rock fish and coconut rice. Get spot by the window.

What a great find! Ten plus kinds of oysters. Wide ranging seafood selections-all kinds of apps. White Clam chowder was top of the line. Lots of vodka and brown spirits choices. We ate at bar and were comfortable. Dress warm in winter months as they open windows.

Great lively atmosphere in a large open restaurant. Food was good, really liked the calamari with chorizo. Prompt service with a wide selection of drinks and craft beers.

The food is relatively good, but the drinks are weak. You can't taste the tequila in the margarita. Clam chowder is great, the shrimp was good. Strange that I liked the salt and vinegar fries.

Waterbar is right on the beach with excellent views. Just a short walk away from the pier. It was really crowded, but we were able to find seats at the bar since we didn't make a reservation. The service was a little slow. Perhaps the didn't expect such a large crowd on a Sunday night and were understaffed. It has a bizarre atmosphere. There's a DJ playing pretty good music, and then it seems some of the overflow from the other bars were there creating their own dance floor with not so subtle PDA. I ordered a couple of drinks, Queen Anne's Revenge and Volturnus. Unfortunately, I didn't care for these drinks as much as I had hoped. I had the fish tacos, which were good and filling. They were a good value compared to some of the other menu items. I don't plan on coming back though.

We ate here twice during our last stay in PB. The UK Fish and Chips are really nice- great batter. Also the Chowder is really nice too- but small bowl for the $ 10 price. Tuna sliders were nice too. Great wine by the glass selection; great service. This place is a little upscale and nicer than some of the other options in the area. I would come back.

This was an amazing restaurant! I had the lobster roll that was "out of this world" and generous in size.

My bartenders were great, special scenery, clean, hugs bar(s), clean restrooms, nice music, and fair pricing.

Taco Tuesday was great. Food was good. Briana was great. They even put the Chicago Cubs game on for us.

Huge abundance of TV monitors ser around the eatery. Small tables or bench seating here is a norm. More appropriate for a pub atmosphere, not a sit down meal. Majestic views and a great late night happy hour from 10pm on with live music, must be their current recipe for success. The food is underwhelming and overpriced for what bland food you receive. Stale butter lettuce salad and undercooked under seasoned potatoes not what I had in mind. Service is slow and very spotty. On second floor, doesn't look accessible for everyone disabled. Not a kids hangout. First come first serve seating. Let hostess know where you want to sit. One high note: their pumpkin panna cotta is a winner to share .

Went to Waterbar 4 times at different times of the day and figured out that lunch time works best for us. They have the same menu for lunch& dinner. Dinner is just so busy and much louder. They just started serving breakfast too, so we'll try that next. They have very good food and take it to heart, if you have complains. Service was always good you can't beat the sunset views form their giant windows.

Really liked this place-noce vibe, good service and overall enjoyable evening. Food was very good and nice selection.

This restaurant is right on the beach. Food was good, not great. Location would be the reason to go. Very busy, lots of noise but fun.

Recently, a new trendy restaurant opened overlooking the beaches of Pacific Beach - The WaterBar. One of the Best Beach View in San Diego with very Good Food. We decided to visit for Mardi Gras. It was not overly crowded. Plenty of TVs and a long modern bar. The service was very good given the number people. The Quality of the food, especially the seafood was very good. you should come for a drink, and if you like it, stay for the food. Enjoy.

I can’t say enough about this place. Food, atmosphere, open windows or ocean loved it. Going back next time in San Diego

We were 5 for dinner. We started with appetizers: fried calamari and a raw fish ceviche type dish I don’t remember the name but they were quite good. I had the Shellfish Piperade with pasta. There was an abundance of mussels in a lovely, light broth with bits of tomato infused with herbs. The pasta was a thick bucatini, not a good choice for a delicate shellfish dish. It was just too heavy. A capellini or angel hair would have worked better. My stepdaughter had the Pozole with clams. I tasted the broth and it was really good. I will order that next time. My husband had the Rockfish as did his daughter and they both loved it. The ambiance is nice with a good view of the ocean. It’s a little noisy but not too bad. This has become one of our favorite spots when we’re in town.

New bar. Opened end of December, I think. They still have some fine tuning to do. Hamburger was okay. Shrimp Po Boy on too much bread. Flavor good after digging out the filling inside of very large hoagie type bun. French fries needed to be more crisp as they were doughy. $$$ for area. Miss Joe's Crab Shack that used to be there. Better places to eat kn the area.

We found this place just because it was next to our hotel. It was surprisingly GREAT! The staff was awesome! Food was awesome! View was great! It upstairs and not directly on the beach which we were skeptical of, but ended up being a welcome break from the wind and sand!

Great location to our hotel, just steps away! Even though it was raining and cold outside the atmosphere inside was warm and cozy! Waitress was very sweet to my autistic son! Ordered Fried Calamari to start the meal and arrived piping hot and very fresh! Yummy! Son had shrimp and fries kids meal and it was excellent according to him! Shrimp were very large. I had a bowl of clam chowder and a side of salt and vinegar fries and they both were excellent! Our other companion had the fish tacos and was also impressed. We went on a Thursday night so got to enjoy the live music as well and it was very nice! Overall, great place, great food, reasonable prices and fantastic views!
Everything was delicious
Went here for anniversary dinner. We had reservations and sat by the window with a nice view. All the food was delicious. We had the pork belly toast and salmon. Service was excellent.
