I came here for lunch with friends. We all ordered different sandwiches except one of us ordered the roasted carrot pizza and everyone enjoyed their choices except pizza girl. I think she was expecting a pie with a red sauce. My sandwich was the pressed salumi and the filling was a house made salami but also had kalamata olives and other condiments. I added dijon. What made it so good was the awesome fresh crusty bread on which it came. Oh my! Our waiter was very accommodating and friendly. We visited the bakery before we left. Several of us bought sweets which they reported to be excellent. The loaf of bread I took home was very good with a nice crunchy crust. I would revisit, but I think I'll try the breakfast menu next.

The location is a bit sketchy, with homeless hanging around on sidewalks nearby, but the fact that approximately 100% of all diners here arrive by car and park in the lot renders that issue moot. The atmosphere is really cool--a kitschy farm-to-table vibe that all the best restaurants are doing nowadays. We came for breakfast on Easter Sunday and it was not terribly crowded. The service was good but not anything out of the ordinary. The food was fantastic! I ordered a unique take on chicken-and-waffles: fried chicken in between a donut. See pic. It was awesome. My wife got a benedict with a pulled pork topping. Also great. Highly recommended! I'm very happy to have eaten here.

Just arrived in Houston after a long flight. Our host recommended this place which was close by. Had Gnocchi, followed by coffee and pastry. The coffee (flat white) as one of the best we had. Staff was friendly. Atmosphere - busy and many young professionals.

At here with son and his wife's family. Everyone had a variety of things. It's a big and varied menu. They have excellent drink options, something for everyone. The pizza's are unique and tasty.

A large group of us dined here - the food was great, great, great. Service was very professional and cordial. I enjoyed our waiter but there were a few very minor slips in service but I expect that was because the place was mobbed and we were a big group. I do not take any points off for that. It took us a bit more than 2.5 hours start to finish. I didn't care because the place was so great but don't stop in for a quick bite. This is quality, good tasting food. Really, please make a point to go here, you will enjoy it!

My husband and I visited this same restaurant about a year before when we were in Houston to visit friends. Once again visiting our friends, this time with our adolescent children in tow, we offered to take them to dinner here because we loved it the first time. Unfortunately for all of us, the experience this time around did not even remotely resemble the first visit. More than 2 hours went by from the time we sat down until the time our party of 6 left, and all we ordered was one round of drinks, one appetizer, and our meals. The restaurant was not busy, and the kitchen staff, by our observation, was standing around for a great deal of our time there (the kitchen is open to the dining area). When our meals were brought out nearly 90 min into our visit, one dish was missing and no extra plates were brought to us (we were sharing food and the server was told this). After waiting for several more minutes, my husband got up and got us plates from a shelf nearby. When I asked the server in the midst of waiting another 10 min for our last meal to arrive what was causing the hold up her reply was, "we are short staffed, and we'll take care of it." It's worth noting there were only 5 tables of patrons and 2 servers serving them at this point of the night. It's also worth noting our server did not "take care of it." She did not check back in again until after we were all done, and then she asked if we wanted dessert. Considering the service was terrible, something we already politely indicated, there should have been no asking if we wanted dessert, because at that point it should be offered for free. When she finally brought us the check we were presented with the full cost of the meal. Because we did not want our friends feel uncomfortable, we chose not to speak up further, we instead uncharacteristically significantly docked the server's tip - usually we don't do this because we realize it is more than the server that is involved. However, in this instance we do believe this was mainly the server's responsibility, at very least to communicate what was happening and apologize. It if wasn't mostly her fault, then her manager owes her the difference, because the manager should have been aware of what was happening, both by our server's complaint and by the manager keeping an eye on things. We never once saw or spoke with a manager and our server did not offer to get him/her when I questioned the delay in getting our meals. I'm so sad that this is the review I find myself writing, as the first review I wrote a year ago was all about how wonderful this place is and how I couldn't wait to return. I can't even compliment the food this time because the service ruined it. Should we visit Houston again, we will not make a 3rd trip.

Very interesting, delicious food. Our more adventurous choices turned out very well, with outstanding flavor and texture combinations. Pizza quite good. Kitchen stays open later than a lot of other places. Helpful staff. Space is pretty, but a bit noisy.

Great menu both for food and beverages. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, service good, great location and atmosphere and the onsite bakery doesn't hurt. Have returned a couple of times and will make this regular stop.

Went for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. A varied and intriguing menu with good service. Doubles as a bakery. We had the chicken Brest, BLT, and salmon sandwich. All were very good. I look forward to trying their famous burger and pizza.

Order the green pea spread w/ garlic and cheese in it. It's served with a wonderful home made cranberry bread. I know what your thinking... huh? IT IS AWESOME. When we return we will get 2 orders of this with some nice white wine. I'd go to this place for grazing and sharing. Go early - they get very busy. We went early since we were heading to a downtown show afterwards.

My daughter & I joined our mother-daughter friends for Sunday brunch. We all had different entrees and everyone was pleased. We all got pastries to go on the way out.

Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and knocked it out of the park while suggesting items to our table of 9. The service was quick, especially considering the size of our party. The drinks were wonderful and had fun names. The main dishes and appetizers were absolutely phenomenal. I was unsure about this place upon first looking at their menu online, but now that I've experienced it- I will definitely be coming back. Not to mention, a spot in midtown Houston with FREE non-valet parking is going to earn major return-points in my book. They offer a very large lot that even at 7:00 on a Saturday night was no where near full despite the fact that there wasn't an empty table in the restaurant.

Ate here in July of 2018. The food was pretty good not sensational. I was underwhelmed with the portions but overall our food was good. Steak was slightly overcooked. The drinks were not too bad. Location was kind of off the beaten path on a street by itself but so goes most things in Houston

I was looking for something different during my and my boyfriend's trip to Houston. I had seen this restaurant had gotten some great reviews and decided to try it out. Definitely did not disappoint! I had the s'mores Latte, which is a huge latte served with little graham crackers and two huge marshmallows. For my entrée, I had the Gnocchi. One of the best Gnocchis I've ever had! It had a sweet, tomato sauce and the portion sizes aren't too large. Hopefully I will be able to go back again soon!

We visited on a Saturday night and it was not busy, which be due to the location. We had to drive through a sketch hood to get there. The waiter was friendly and knowledgable about the entrees. We got hummus, which was creamy and came with spicy peppers. The bread was part soft and part crispy. SO had magherita pizza. We liked it but it could have used more cheese. I had the parpadelle. The scallops were huge and briny. The tiger shrimp was also big. Liked it quite a bit.

Went for brunch today. Could not decide what I wanted so I ordered the polenta and French toast. The polenta was amazing the French toast was average. My son ordered the chicken and donuts and said it was a little too sweet for him, but he doesn't do sugar very often. I thought they were wonderful. He is a coffee connoisseur and thought the coffee was phenomenal! Atmosphere was nice and they offer mocktails, which I love. Staff was very helpful. Strawberry jam and sauce were extremely tasty. I love the way the bill was presented comma in a cassette holder. For those of you that don't know what that is you can google it.

Had the Caesar salad with chicken and it was outstanding. Other person in party had ahi tuna salad and it looked pretty good. Service was impeccable. BEST part though was picking up some croissants from the bakery along with cranberry walnut bread to take home. Both were out of this world good-make sure you peruse what they have before you leave OR just make a visit for the bakery itself. Not real big but was worth it for me.

Loved the architecture and concept. Bakery, Bar and Restaurant. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the food so much. From my latte, to delicious eggs benedict (with a twist!), to the delicious mocktail I had. I would like to come back for dinner or to buy some delicious bakery items. Lovely staff.

Great menu with most of their top items. Large portions, especially the appetizers! Large bar selection of wines, beers and spirits, relatively well priced. Food was fabulous and everyone in our group of 8 enjoyed themselves. Service was friendly and very well paced. No feeling of rush. Server was happy to split checks for us. Lamb chops were excellent and cooked exactly as requested.

My husband and I had dinner here before an event, so we were there about 6-7 p.m. when the restaurant was less than half full. We were seated at a table near the door in the center of the room. I find the atmosphere very cold and industrial perhaps due to the high concrete ceilings and sharp angles everywhere. You should like eating MEAT if you eat here. We enjoyed our salads and then shared an eggplant pizza. The pizza was really boring in the taste category and was inexplicably arranged in a rectangular overlapping pile. We guess they dropped it or ate a piece before it arrived at our table..... The Willamette Valley Pinot Noir we ordered was excellent, and the waiter was good.

I've been to Weights + Measures several times now and never left hungry. The food and drinks here and great and the atmosphere is very trendy for Houston. The gnocchi and carrot pizza are a must and any of their deserts are delicious!

I've been here five times over the last three years and never had a bad bite. The sandwiches, soups, and sides are all amazing, topped off by the bread they just made in their on-site bakery. In the cold weather you cannot find a better soup and sandwich, and their pizzas are amazing. This is a truly excellent restaurant.

This place is an awesome restaurant in Houston. It has an amazing and phenomenal brunch. The dishes are very unique and very tasty. The pastries are awesome. The Decour and environment are lively, chic and classy. The staff is super friendly and their unique selection of cocktails is very good. They're freshly squeezed orange juice goes amazing in there mimosas. It is a bit pricey for what it is but the Decour and food are well worth it.

It has a very nice crowd, the "pretty people" that often look for the place to see and be seen. But this foodie only found the food average.

This place totally swept me off my feet. I went with two friends and we split a few different things but the winner was hands down the chicken and donuts...omg.

Tried this awesome place for a casual business lunch. All the food looked great. Got the grilled cheese. Outstanding with the home made potatoes chips a salad. Carrot cake is scrumptious.

Very comfortable place, good atmosphere, good service, great food and wonderful price. Unbelievable cost benefit.

Had dinner there twice in the last month. The menu is varied and modern with a mix of small and large plates. All the dishes we choose were tasty with nice presentions; the waitstaff was knowledgeable and attentive. Once we sat on the patio which was also pleasant. The noise level was moderate inside, and it was quiet on the patio. The wine list is not huge, but well selected and the prices not outrageous. They also have some craft cocktails. Its not cheap, but I think it is good value. They are good bakers as well.

Had visited the place for avocado toast and mushroom toast for breakfast and immediately wanted to come back and try dinner. We were not disappointed. While we did have to send back a blackberry cocktail for "tweaking" (which they did both willingly and successfully), the dinner choices of a cress, burrata salad with olive maple dressing, duck ravioli with a delicious parsnip cream, and bittersweet chocolate cremeaux were all dead on. Can't wait to try the owner's other two places on our next visit to Houston. Cool vibe, educated waiters and the owner is close at hand to make sure everything is running like clockwork. Congrats W&M on a great restaurant!

This place is a little gem. I enjoyed the food and the service. I had the octopus for apetizer and it was very good. My friend ordered the caprese and it was delicious too. the braised rabit with polenta was my dinner. The rabbit was good but I like the polenta better than the rabbit. Overall it was a good experience.

Three of us had lunch from the Houston Restaurant Weeks menu. Of course we expected the limited choices, but we also expected smaller portions. Wrong. After a wonderful onion soup, I was served a Wagyu short rib sandwich that could have fed all of us, accompanied by delicious house-made pickled vegetables and chips. I'm hoping next time they'll offer the pickled vegetables as an appetizer, they were that good. I also had a glass of a wonderful prosecco. My friends had kale salad and haystack fries, and also took their main courses home. I'm looking forward to leftovers. Will definitely be back.

I've enjoyed several meals here and decided that I needed to actually write a review. I usually make a reservation for a Wednesday or Thursday - ask for the "dough room" if you're planning to visit after 7 pm. It seats at least 4 people and is much quieter than the normal dining room. The menu is inventive but not scarily so. If you aren't adventurous, have pasta! It's made in-house and is always sooo good. I have never had a bad meal or poor service here - but I usually eat at off-peak times. I like that the server has time to actually wait on me without being harried. Every part of the meal is delicious, including dessert. Don't forget to buy some baked goods to take home with you!

The space was very nice and renovated. The food was decent and came quickly. It was busy and if you don't make a reservation you have to wait about 25 minutes. Overall it was a good experience and I would come back.

Went for lunch on a Sunday. Made reservation day a head as restaurant gets very full. They do have limited outdoor seating, but we did eat inside. Service was OK, our server was very helpful in describing different menu options, but after the food came we never saw her again until she brought the check. No water refills or asking how food turned out. My husband go the CHILAQUILES which is a good portion and my husband like it OK, said the meat tasted good. I ordered the MARGHERITA pizza. The crust was good, but very little cheese or basil on it. The pizza are enough for two people if neither are very hungry. This is a very popular restaurants and their coffee drinks looked amazing as well as all the breads at the baker. We were not however that impressed with the food. Would not go back

My wife and I enjoyed a delicious dinner here, our first, but hopefully not last, visit! One of Allison Cook's Top 100 restaurants in Houston, it was on my list to try, and we finally got around to it. We were definitely not disappointed. The ambience was pleasant (rather urban), our waiter was excellent, and the food was beyond delicious. Our appetizer of lentils and veges on toast was very tasty, with little nuances of flavor that kept surprising me. Then we had a couple pasta dishes featuring their house-made pasta noodles, and they each came with wonderful sauces and toppings. And finally we had a couple desserts that were very good. Overall experience was A+.

Mildly more creative than a typical breakfast place, but I spent north of $300 for 8 people. Only went because some of the party were foodies, and won't be back unless one of my foodies wants to. I won't be suggesting it.

Food = Average / Just Ok Service = Slow and Pretentious This was our first time there, and my BF and I went there for Sunday brunch. I was not impressed with the variety of menu items. Also, the descriptions on the menu were overdone. I am a total foodie, and there were things on the menu that I could not identify. I know...I can hear you saying - if this person calls themselves a foodie and can't identify menu items - then they are not a real foodie and are uneducated. But that is the point... I am a Foodie. I am educated. So if I don't know what some of this stuff is, how in the world is Jon Doe off the street going to figure out the menu. I felt like they were intentionally alienating a large segment of potential customers. I ordered eggs benedict and my BF ordered a croissant breakfast sandwich. The restaurant was not crowded, but the food took a long time to come out, and it was quite difficult to get a refill on coffee. Both our entrees came with a side of potatoes. They were nicely cooked, but we felt they needed salt and pepper (there was no seasoning on the potatoes as is). I looked around that there were no salt and pepper shakers on any tables. Ok...maybe they are cleaning/refilling them? At the waiter station behind me, I did spy one set of salt and pepper in mills. It took some time to get any server's attention, and when my BF asked for salt and pepper, the server have him a look like he had just asked for a bowl of dead kittens. I actually think the server would have been more accommodating and less surprised if we had asked for dead kittens. Really, you are going to hold the S & P hostage? Well, if you are going to do that, then you better make sure everything you send out of the kitchen is beyond reproach.

This was my first visit here and based on the reviews, I was expecting quite a bit. The food and the menu were both as expected. The one thing that wasn't expected was our half assed server. We sat down and waited for about 10-15 minutes for someone to greet us. I finally asked the hostess if there was a server for our table. Turns out it was the girl who had been walking all around our table the whole time. She took our order, brought the food and dropped the check. Drink refills, coffee, dessert? GFY. I want to try this place again because the food really was good but I hope the next server is a little better.

This was my first time here and it looks like a great place to eat and drink. It has a coffee bar, bakery, restaurant and bar. I had a latte to go and it was good but expensive. Wish I had time to stay and eat. All the food I saw looked great. They also have an area with couches and chairs to sit and have your coffee. I'll try to get back to eat and maybe I'll be able to give it more stars.

Weights and Measures has some unusual dishes, variations on classic american plates. Everything that was tried was excellent. The atmosphere is quiet, even when it is busy (which is common) and I appreciate that conversation is possible. There is also a bakery there and they have some interesting baked goods. We will go back to this one.

Never knew they served brunch and was pleasantly surprised by their menu. I had my favorite - poached eggs which the restaurant served with hollandaise sauce and kale over a brioche. It was delicious. Their OJ was fresh squeezed. The barrista was amazing at making cool designs in the latte's and hot chocolate.

Cute modern place for brunch. All the waiters wore floral button up shirts which I though was a cool idea. There’s a fresh bakery shop in the corner that you can get pastries to-go. We ate there and requested for a patio table since the weather was nice. We ordered the s’mores latte which was delicious and not too sweet. For brunch, we had the salmon with truffle eggs and the French toast. Both were good dishes and reasonably priced ($18 and $16). Would definitely come again. We made reservations on OpenTable ahead of time.

First of all, Anthony is an amazing server. They were super busy with V-day overflow but he took his time to tell us all about his favorites on the menu. He knew the wine menus very well and had good descriptions and suggestions. We were visiting from out of town and had our daughter with us. He put together a great meal for our daughter which was Not on the menu, spaghetti and meatballs which she inhaled! My husband ordered the lamb and absolutely loved it. I ordered the snapper and liked it. Would love to come back and order the tenderloin or the gnocchi. We had the German chocolate cake for dessert. It was dense, delicious, not to sweet and a perfect portion for us to share.

Went here for brunch with 3 friends and it was thoroughly enjoyable. The waiter didn't rush us, was cordial and explained the menu and drinks. We all tried something different. I opted for poached eggs, bacon and spinach...and it was all perfectly cooked. One friend order the breakfast pizza and it was not only quite large, but beautifully presented. My only ding would be the price. For my plate and one grapefruit juice, it was just shy of $20. They also make their own dough for the pizzas, which we discovered when we heard constant pounding. We thought someone was banging on the door! We had reservations at 10:15 and it wasn't too busy. By the time we left at 11:45, there was a LONG wait. The parking lot fills up pretty fast as the restaurant shares a building with a Yoga/Dance studio. But plenty of safe street parking.

Great brunch; elegant setting; fantastic service; delicious food from high-quality ingredients, in creative combinations. Bakery is also killer, with serious bread--not just sweets. Will definitely be back!

I was not expecting much, got more than what i thought. Great food, well cooked, great prices, will go again in a couple of weeks.

We like the food enough, but we really come for the great service and wine. The restaurant is generally above our price range but on special occasions we splurge here. The waiters and waitresses are incredible - all have been knowledgeable on the wine list, and it seems that they've tried everything on the menu so they're able to recommend food from personal experience. We feel like kings and queens when we come here because we are always treated so well.

Party of 4 seated immediately, had reservations for Sunday brunch. Most items were egg oriented so selected the Cheese Burger. Great choice, it was done medium well and it came as ordered but nice and moist (most medium well I order tend to be dry and kind of crusty around the edges, this one was perfect). It came on a just made in house bun, big enough to cover the Burger but not too much to have the bread overwhelm the meat. Had my choice of cheese and it came with the requisite pickle, lettuce, tomato and onions plus condiments of choice. This was casual and comfortable, service was good, food arrived without a long wait. My tablemates were all happy with their choices. This is my new go-to spot when I want a just about perfect cheese burger, it was excellent.

It was "Oh So Good" don't miss It! Everything was excellent. The atmosphere was hip and buzzy, we had a 3 course lunch which is available until September 1st for $20. I had the liver patte (It was good but not my thing), salmon and kale, and dougknut. I also had a slice of the carrot pizza and a taste of the rasberry bar both were very yummy!! Give yourself time the service takes a little while but not too long. After 2 the bakery items that are left from the morning go for 50% off. Enjoy if you have the opportunity to go...Go!!

Amazing dinner. Staff went out of their way to ensure we had a good meal. Food was a bit slow but they compensated with some free wine :). Had pasta and chicken, both tasty.

Visit this new restaurant, for lunch with girlfriends. I like the location, not crowd as some of the downtown restaurants are in Midtown(location of restaurants and bars and parking during lunch). Enjoyed the food. Had the first salad item on the menu ( some kind of celery salad) it was unusual but glad I tried it. The bakery is soooo good! I had to have the blueberry muffin. It is large so you may want to share. It was a good experience!

Our party of six with two young kids had a good Sunday brunch here. The only complaint is that we were seated outside by the sidewalk shaded by two patio umbrellas, large enough to cover only one side of the table, due to the angle of the sun. I like the marguerita pizza, really good, with toasty edge and chewy dough. Other breakfasts are also good. Coffee however is weak.

Wonderful atmosphere for lunch spot to meet friends in Houston. On site bakery where you can watch the bread being made and take some with you when you leave, fresh made potato chips, wonderful tasty sandwiches, attentive service.

The food and location are good. If you are in for the food, go. Good flavor and portions that are not either large or small. My husband and I ordered an appetizer and entree. The food came fast - Halloween night and rained a lot. But no appetizer! Server was nice but don’t care for lack of attention!

Met some friends for brunch here on a saturday afternoon. Someone else in our group chose the location and I wasn't too thrilled after reading the menu. I honestly found it kind of boring myself. The mimosas were good and made with fresh squeezed OJ, though they were closer to room temp than cold. I chose the Oaxaca Scramble which was basically just a croissant sandwich with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese and bacon with a small amount of salsa on the side. It was fine, but pretty basic. I'm still trying to figure out what was "oaxaca" about it? The only other dish I tasted was my husband's fried chicken and cake donuts dish. He was actually looking forward to that, but I think was a little underwhelmed by it. Again, it tasted ok, but nothing spectacular. My favorite part of the meal was probably the bread basket that we ordered as sort of an appetizer for everyone. The breads were tasty with the house made strawberry jam. So really, the meal was average, and it's a bit of a drive for us so I don't think we'd jump at the idea of returning unless we happen to be in the area and it's someone else's idea again. On a positive note, the service was great.

This was the first time I have eaten at W&M. The food was very good overall. They have a good wine selection and a great beer LIST. Whether they actually have great beers is another issue. They did not have 5 of the beers we ordered. Our server was great and gave me a complimetary beer after they did not have the first four I ordered. If you are going to have a craft beer list, you need to keep it updated/keep the beer in stock.

I have never felt so belittled in my life. From the beginning, my friends and I felt unwanted. The waiter wanted us out of there ASAP. He was so rude and obviously wanted us out of there to make money on his next table. THEN the Hostess came and asked us if we could move to the bar as she needed our table. I will never dine here again. Rude People.

I had heard of Weights & Measures before, but didn’t think it sounded impressive enough to make the trip down there from the Galleria. I was very wrong. I had ravioli, bruschetta, a donut, and their bread. It was all outstanding, and so was the service. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, not too in-your-face but never had to waive him down. The whole experience was pretty much perfect. I will go back for sure, and a lot!

We booked a table for the first time at WM for a dinner with friends. The place is comfortable and nice, good for a child of 8 years old too. They don’t have a kids menu but the plates are quite good for kids too. I had a roasted chicken in an indian way, very nice and the appetizer were good too. On the contrary I don’t recommend pizza, it’s too soft and wet.

Great spot for all types of food. Great pastries, breads, and sweet deserts. Very interesting menu choices with a great variety. The ambience is really very nice too.

Went there because some friends thought it would be good. I can't speak for their dishes but my GF and I weren't pleased. Highlights below: Charcuterie special wasn't that special (had better at bucees ) Pork belly was cold Caesar salad was bland Grilled prawn pasta was way too salty Bread pudding was cold We would have told the server about it but he came by once a year. Won't go again

My daughter selected W&M for brunch - great idea. Located in midtown, we arrived about 9:45am and were able to be seated immediately. When you walk in, the small bakery is to the right. Modern decor - high ceilings, lots of light, comfortable chairs. I started with a light and fresh mimosa, others had juice, coffee and a pumpkin latte - yum. Irving our waiter suggested the Mushroom sandwich, so my Mom and I selected those, my husband had the avocado toast and my daughter tried the chicken and donuts. As a side you have a choice of sauteed spinach or breakfast potatoes. My husband selected the potatoes and the rest had the spinach. OMG - the spinach was delicious - fresh with a bit of garlic. The mushroom toast was topped with the perfect poached eggs over onion jam on pumpernichol toast - very filling and great flavor. It was the first time my husband had tried avocado toast with a fried egg and bacon - he loved it. He also had 2 glasses of fresh orange juice and Mom said the coffee was delicious - she had 2 large cups. The fried chicken tenders were layered between a sliced cake donut - crisp tenders and the donut was not too sweet. All in all it was a great brunch, excellent service and a good price. Can't wait to go back. Of course we had to make a stop for fresh baked goods on the way out - yeah! Our waiter also informed us that at 3pm each day all baked goods are half price - good to know. Plenty of parking and very casual dress code. All good combinations!

W&M has become our go-to midtown restaurant in Houston. Their daily changing menus are exciting to look forward to and an adventurous wine list makes for a satisfying dining experience every time. I agree with another patron about the tenderloin. It was overcooked beyond medium we had ordered so had to have it redone at medium rare. But we have made other discoveries on the menu to keep our interest level up. Highly recommended for a casual and classy experience. Cheers 🍷🍷

We were extremely disappointed in this restaurant. I had business colleagues in from out of town and I had never tried this restaurant so decided to give it a go. We booked through open table for 5 people. They didn't have a table ready and the place wasn't crowded. They attempted to sit us at a table configured so that one of us would be in a spot where they could not have been in the conversation. When I asked us to be moved, they next table was literally 2 inches from the next table so it felt we were combined with another party but we stayed there because they didn't offer any other options. And while I respect restaurant uniqueness this one offers it but with such snobbery you feel shamed for asking questions like "I'd like a Titos Martini" . They don't serve brand liquor which is fine but they treat you like you are an idiot when you go to order. Our waitress also had to be explained what a dry martini meant. Then it took over 20 minutes to get any drinks served. Our appetizers were served first. The drinks are tiny which is fine but they don't come by often to see if you would like another. But the final straw that convinced me not to ever return was that one of my out of town colleagues asked for chicken added to her pizza. The servers response was that their chef doesn't like special requests or to change menu items. She said she would check but that she should probably pick something else. Later I noticed my out of town guest was eating shrimp so clearly there was no accommodating the restaurant patrons request. Snobbery plus bad server make it really hard for me to recommend this restaurant when there are so many other great choices in Houston.

I used to enjoy all the delicious food on the Happy hour menu plus dinner items, but they made so many changes that its not worth me going anymore. They had wonderful salmon sliders on Happy Hour Menu, but took them off the menu. Thank God they still have Cheeseburgers on their happy hour menu that are to die for. My favorite dish was delicious braised short with perfectly cooked handmade couscous, but WHY is it no longer on their menu? Yummy Tender Wood Grilled Spanish Octopus is still on the menu, but it takes 30 minutes to cook & needs to let be ordered ahead of time & Sometimes they run out. I like the CAKE DONUTS + FRIED CHICKEN & MORNING CRACKED EGG PIZZA. I have had the Hand Cut Papparedelle Dish with Grilled Scallops + Tiger Shrimp but I don't like the pasta (it would be better with a different pasta). The atmosphere is nice with chairs to fit oversized people. Free Parking with handicapped parking in their large Parking lot is good.

We popped in here for a stop before the theater and since we didn't want to go off to the show on a heavy stomach, we shared several small plates off the happy hour menu. Each plate we received was delicious and well presented. The oysters were unique and wonderful, the butter lettuce was fabulous and we had to order second plate of wood corn and zucchini fritters because they were simply amazing. All this was served by a fabulous waiter (thanks Roman!) and a staff who never let our glasses of water go empty. We immediately added Weights & Measures to our list of places we will return to soon!

As a consultant that is what I have heard a few times. Unfortunately, this visit to Weight + Measures should have me never return! I’ve been a numbers of times, but I believe this time the restaurant over estimated Houston Restaurant week! The first tow course had absolutely no flavor. I Choose the 10oz tenderloin filet for the entree that has an excellent flavor but Jesus Christ that one smallish steak was rare, medium and well done all in one piece of meat! Someone at the grill should be looking for a new job. The finish was a berry cobbler and was very good. The portion of the dessert was huge considering the portion size of everything else on the menu. I just could not wait to get out of the restaurant since it took use 2 hours and 45 minutes for the service! It was not that we stuck around talking the service took forever. One issue I had was during my meal I like to have a soda. This crap they served as a Diet Coke was down right awful! I don’t think I will return! There are way too many restaurants in Houston to have to endure another night like this!

Best croissants! Ever!!! Actually, all baked goods are more than amazing. Just amazing!!! A must stopover in Houston.

Many culinary treats - meatballs, pulpo, quail, fried polenta cubes, gnocchi, pastas, salads, desserts. All handmade with care and attention to detail. Good service, nice location convenient to downtown. Excellent bar with many interesting choices ( Dia del Sol was very good. ) Desserts were quite good - doughnuts, creme brûlée and carrot cake were the best. Would return with family and friends.

A group of 11 of us stopped by after a concert for drinks and appetizers. They told us no tables were available but yet half the restaurant was empty. We went back to the bar which was almost empty and put a couple of tables together. They reluctantly sitted us. I don't eat gluten and the menu was devoid of anything I could eat. My friends ordered a couple of pizzas and I ordered the bacon appetizer which came out 45 minutes after the pizzas and was unedible. Don't waste your time trying this place. I have one word- horrible.

Our family stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday morning around 10am and were seated immediately. The restaurant has a charming ambience with bakers on display kneading dough, much to the delight of my daughter. On first glance at the menu, we were intrigued by the variety of breakfast/brunch offerings and I decided to try the Lucky Charms Latte in lieu of a regular coffee. We ordered a few things from the menu to try. The Peanut Butter + Nutella is a delightful combination of the aforementioned with bananas, bacon, fried eggs, atop a brioche toast. The Morning Cracked Egg Pizza was a decent sized pie with pancetta and basil and definitely worth trying. Cake Donuts + Fried Chicken is the equation that adds up to deliciousness: drizzled with maple hazelnut syrup, the fried chicken breasts are sandwiches between the sliced cake donuts. But our favorite were the Chilaquiles: braised wagyu shortrib, ancho chile mole, refried black beans, fried eggs, queso fresco, pico de gallo, all atop fresh tostada chips. There is a lot more to try on this menu, and I understand the dinner menu is another thing entirely. We’ll definitely be back to tackle that challenge another day.

This place has excellent service, the best coffee I have had anywhere, and food that is not only beautiful but tastes excellent. The baked goods and other breakfast items were the best in town, and when anyone can make spinach great they are hero’s in my opinion!

There are so many great restaurants in Houston - service OK, food OK, although the "small plates" are rather pricey as was the wine. There is nothing special or outstanding that warrants a recommendation or a return trip. The chairs are too big - it is awkward for people to get in/out of the chairs

Today a friend and I decided to eat brunch at WM. What a disappointment! First of all, we were unaware we could only order brunch on Saturday but the menu was decent and they had a couple of off menu items to choose from. She ordered the avocado toast and I ordered Benedict 21. The food cam out super fast and was lukewarm at the most though I was warned about a hot plate. Food was okay but overpriced to say the least! Service was ok nothing special!

We got some pastries in early July and were a little disappointed. They were ok, definitely not bad but for $3-5 each I was hoping for delicious. There were lots of options, I got a sprinkle donut and a ham,egg and cheese danish in the same box. If you just need some pastries and money is no object, this place is a good choice.

Went here with two out of town friends and was initially happy. It is a bit on the loud side but good atmosphere and our bartender was capable and friendly. The drinks he made were good, not great (no innovation), but worth a solid four star rating. Reason for deducting a star was another bartender who decided to shake a cocktail a few meters from us and sprayed us with orange juice. Had she been apologetic the accident would have been forgiven but instead her response was arrogant and she seemed annoyed that we dared to be unhappy to be sprayed with drinks. Only reason for only deducting one star was because of the apologetic manager. Quite annoying though was that the spraying bartender was scowling at us while the manager apologized on her behalf.

My first visit to this establishment and it won't be the last. Easy place to get to and plenty of parking. Contemporary space with high ceilings and an open kitchen. This is not a place for a quiet dinner. Lively group of dinners and fun atmosphere. People here are celebratory. Begin with a cocktail from their varied selection and choose from a nice assortment of appetizers, salads or even pizza. Some are traditional with a twist and others are originals. The entrees they offer have something for everyone. The pork was delicious! End with a yummy dessert and you've had a wonderful evening.

I really liked this restaurant but a few things were a little off for me personally. The decor inside was unique and interesting and everywhere you looked was something different. The staff was pleasant but our waitress was a little slow and made a few mistakes for our table- but no big deal, it happens. The food was really good, but I had a bite here and there that just did not match the rest of the dish but the flavor combos were interesting and fresh. Everyone else enjoyed the food and drinks as well. Highly recommend the bread as they bake it in house and have a variety of flavors. Something to keep in mind if you’re planning on going- if you go at night, the lights are not super bright and the menu may be more difficult for some to read. Also sound travels easily and some members of our party had a difficult time hearing us talk and being able to contribute to the conversation. For the location, the prices are about standard.

Weights and Measures" - What a great place. This, somewhat hidden in plain sight, cafe/bakery on Caroline can be easily missed as the signs are small. For a midtown location, the free parking is appreciated. The restaurant, on Sunday morning, had efficient, friendly service and an eclectic menu. Food appears quickly from the kitchen and is plated looking like a work of art. Attention to detail, lovely room, good food, fast good service - what more could you ask? Will be back for lunch and dinner. Added bonus - the small bakery on site is terrific. Bagets are exceptional.

My daughter and I were looking for a good place to have brunch on Sunday and decided to try this restaurant. I've had lunch and dinner here, but never brunch and it did not disappoint. I had an eggs Benedict to die for! the sauce was perfect, the eggs nicely cooked and the bread they sat on was fresh and delicious. At the end of my meal, I ordered a hot chocolate and it arrived with a panda bear face made out of the milk. Fabulous.

Parking is the only negative comment I could conceivably make. Even though the spaces were narrow, and number of spaces limited, we were able to locate a spot quickly. The open environment does have any of the echo or noisy distribution of conversations common to that layout. The seats were comfortable and tables distributed to allow a measure of separation from neighboring groups. Several recognizable public and media figures came in while we ate and they seemed to be able to enjoy their meals without disruption. The staff were all welcoming, helpful, and proactively engaging. With minimal prompting our server offered taste-based recommendations and some backstory for the dishes. The food was filling but not heavy. We still had too many leftovers to avoid a to-go box. I won’t waste space with my plaudits. Just go for lunch and enjoy the food and atmosphere yourself. I can't speak for their dinner fare, but the location, in my view, is better suited for lunch, especially if you plan to use the rail.

We had lunch at this restaurant. I tasted both a pasta with wild mushrooms and a pizza margherita. Both were good but not great. The pasta sauce lacked some flavor but the mushrooms were good and plentiful. The pizza crust was a little on the limp side and again nothing really noteworthy about the sauce, but quite good.

Visiting Houston and was staying close by so went for a solo dinner here. Noticed the attentive service and beautiful restaurant walking in. Got both the Spanish squid and grilled sausage because the menu looked really interesting. The squid was cooked masterfully: it was tender but also had the most amazingly flavourful crunch on the edges. The potatoes and pesto that came with were similarly spot on. Perhaps the only complaint is with the toasted bread chips that the whole dish was pilled on top of: satisfying crunch but also left little cuts on the roof of the mouth for alcohol to find. The sausage was smoky and again had the beautiful grilled crust. It was close to a polish sausage and was leaner than expected but still delicious. The lentil, carrot and onion cheesy base it came on was divine. My server made a great beer suggestion after I finished my super girly ("smashed berries") cocktail. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Excellent evening overall. The small plates we had were all outstanding except for the relish tray which was non-descript other than the olives which were tasty. Our entrees, both specials for the evening, the pork chop and a whole Mediterranean Sea Bass were prepared perfectly. I teased the waiter that my companion was provided a steak knife for his chop but I was not given a fish knife for my bone in sea bass. The waiter, 21 years old, didn't know what a fish knife was and had the manager come over. The manager brought be a steak knife, which provided some humor for the evening. The ambiance was great, food outstanding and service perfect. I will be a regular. They do advertise a bakery, restaurant and bar at Weights + Measures. Definite hits on the bakery and restaurant, but the bar is really a small waiting area before dinner, not a destination in and of itself. If I were in midtown looking for a bar only Weights + Measures would not be the stopping place. W+M is definitely a great addition to the Houston midtown restaurant scene.

First, I would give Weights and Measures a 4.5 rating if we could. Not perfect, but really close. We went for Sunday brunch, very crowded, so make reservations! The food is very, very good. We had the Americano breakfast, Steak and Eggs, and a cheeseburger. Portions are large, so come hungry. Service was just right, filled glasses frequently. The cons, the tables are far too low for a tall guy. Knees hit top of table and legs in way of others at our table, an uncomfortable seating arrangement. The other big con, parking. The parking lot is way too small. Construction on road nearby leave little street parking too. So beware. We will return for a lunch or dinner to try the regular menu. Enjoy!

Went to Sunday brunch. Had reservations for 6 people. The place is very popular. It was very crowded. Could not hear the people we were sitting with. The menu was very trendy. Food was good and plentiful. Bloody Mary's were so spicy they were undrinkable. Service was spotty. Our server disappeared.

Pizza, salads, pasta sandwiches. Well made, maintained well. A bit pricey but not bad. Impossible to find parking and so you are dependent on their valet service. Sometimes you cannot find the valet for over 5 mins. We left our key in the desk and walked in. . Food is great- vegetarian and vegan options avail.

This is an attractive space just a bit west and south of downtown. It's both a restaurant and a bakery. The bakery smelled great but was closed so I can't tell you how it is. Given that this is at a higher price range we expected better food execution than we got. The chicken dish that I ordered was badly oversalted. When I sent it back I ordered a duck dish instead. It was way too tough. I was informed that this is how the chef intended it; if so someone should tell him that this is not a good intention. My daughters duck tortelloni was quite good. I ordered a dessert because it featured dark chocolate ice cream, so you can imagine my suprrise when it arrived with vanilla. When I asked about it the waiter checked and returned telling us that they were out of the chocolate. It might have been better had someone let him know so that we could have known and not ordered it. When I shared all of this with the manager he comped us both a main course and a dessert, which was nice. I'll give it another shot, but certainly wasn't impressed with the first one.

Great food and service! First time here so I went with the pizza which was fantastic. My husband got the pizza special of the day and was blown away by the flavor. Interesting menu that changes seasonally it appears. My daughter got the homemade gluten free pasta and loved it.

So. Not only is the food, and the bread, fantastic here I must note that for the first time in my life my waiter perceived that the bread provided with the (heavenly) mussels had run out and brought more. If you like pizza you must have it here. 'Nuf said.

This is a place where the owners really care about everything they do. The design, the layout, the food, the drinks and the service all blend to provide an excellent atmosphere and a great meal. This time for brunch we had the rose Prosecco with their Hamburger and potato chips. It was delicious and just the right amount to set us up for the day! Try also their bakery, just excellent. There is superb car parking (but no valet). It looks and feels like an Aussie place, with smashed avocado on toast, and good coffee. Try it Houston, and bring your Aussie mates!

Decided to check out this place during our stay in Houston. It was Sat morning so there was a 30 min wait. We found some seats at the bar and had a couple of drinks while we waited. Very good/spicy bloody marrys. I had the milk punch....could be the wrong name. But it was there version of a white Russian, very good. We had the french toast. All 3 meals were very good at our table. A little warm inside, but other than that a delicious spot for breakfast/brunch. I will def be back again!

My boyfriend and I like to try new brunch places and we have gone to this restaurant 2 weeks in a row! They take reservations only but if you walk in, sit at the bar-that's first come first serve and they turnover pretty quickly. You get to watch the cooks make your food too. Highly recommend the French toast, breakfast pizza or the eggs Benedict. On your way out grab something from the bakery. It does NOT disappoint.

My husband and I stopped in St Patrick 'a Day for an afternoon coffee and a sweet . On a whim I asked if they could do an Irish coffee? They have a full bar. Cordial counterperson said sure and handed me a cup of black coffee to take to the bartender . He proceeded to give me a vial of Jameson's - I had asked for Powers- and some Irish cream liquor which promptly curdled. in the cup. No lightly whipped cream. Took back to bartender who said their coffee was too acidic. Did I want another (of the same) ? I leave that to you , dear readers. Cost of 1 cheese danish and 1 linzer bar of average quality , a short pour of Sauvignon Blanc and the dubious Irish coffee- $30.

Had a business lunch here. The service was impeccable. The menu is a creative mix of old favorites with a new twist. They have small plates as well. The food was amazing. They also have a bakery and coffee bar. Look forward to returning for brunch in the near future!

The food was delicious and I arrived too early on Sunday to enjoy a mimosa. I was by myself and the my server was a little too attentive, stopping by my table ever several minutes to strike up conversation. I would've preferred my meal in peace but was not disappointed with my meal.

Two of us tried the restaurant menu. The chicken livers were good but the pretzel/chip served with it- not! Maybe they can consider toast points again. The salmon fantastic as was veggie kale salad- wish portions were just a bit bigger. Be prepared parking is nightmare and you might have to use valet.

Wow. The bakery goods were all fantastic. You can choose items there and they will bring them to your table. The brunch menu is incredible with lots of choices. I had the mushroom toast, which was great. The waiter said that the mushroom toast and the avocado toast are 2 of the biggest draws. My husband had the scramble which he really enjoyed, although the menu didn't mention jalapenos and there were lots of them so it was pretty spicey. My son had the sausage pizza and I think he enjoyed it as well. It has a small patio area. The place seems to be very popular so we went early (around 11) and were able to get in without reservations. Our waiter was very helpful with recommendations and was always keeping an eye on keeping our drinks filled. I would definitely go back if we were in Houston again.

The four of us really enjoyed our dinner at this trendy restaurant. The main dishes were excellent and we also enjoyed dessert. Our server was very attentive. The only problem we had was the noise level and there were not many people there because we were having an early dinner. We moved tables three times until we thought we could at least have a conversation. Wish they could do something about the noise level. Other than that it was great. I would eat there again.

went to W & M on Sept 10 & 11 for pastries, and Sept 11 for Pizza. the fresh made donuts/pastries 5 star, enough said, outstanding. we got several kinds of pastries/donuts, all were PRIMO!!!!!!!!!! super fresh. my daughter and I ordered 2 different pizza's, the carrot & sausage/pepperoni. the pizza's were pretty good, worthy of 4 stars because of the price, a tad bit too pricey @ $18 & $21 for slightly larger than a medium pizza.

Was in Houston to see the Degas exhibit and a friend told us about this jewel of a restaurant. From being greeted at the door by a wonderful hostess, to the suggestions from our server, to the delicious food placed in front of us this was an excellent choice. The russet potato chips with blue cheese fondue and the steak salad were delish. My friend had the donut/beignet dessert and she said it was wonderful, too. the next time I am in Houston I will head back to weights and measures.

Great place to grab lunch. Took my girlfriend and mother after seeing the Van Gogh exhibit down the street. We had the tortilla soup, potato gnocchi, pesto papparadelle, and one of the sandwiches (can't remember the name). Everything was great and the staff was friendly. We will be back again soon!

We had our first visit relatively early on a Saturday night before a show. The decor is sleek and modern but with family style tables in one central section. There is also a living area with couches and a small 6-8 table covered outdoor seating area with radiant heaters for cooler evenings. There is a separate bakery counter inside where they also serve coffee. It was closed when we were there but the bread on display looked great. Foodies will appreciate that one of the prep areas is behind a floor-to-ceiling glass wall so patrons can watch pasta and other items being made. It was not terribly busy, being early, and we enjoyed attentive service. The small plate selection was broad, but the wine and cocktail menu was even more extensive. We had GF fried cheese and roasted octopus. The combination of the house special salad and Cape Cod mussels was delicious, as was the lobster in brown butter over fresh pasta. Had to pass on dessert, but we will be back.

Our experience was a nice meal, some tasty and cold drinks, and a fun place to dine. Weights and Measures is probably not going to become our favorite spot in town, and while the food was pretty good it isn't something we are running around raving about. That being said we really did enjoy our meal here. The building stands out amongst its neighbors, and is a chic, very modern style. The décor inside is warm and inviting, while maintaining an intimate feel with low lighting. The menu has some interesting dishes, and a great selection of sharable plates. We tried the RIbeye meatballs which were very tender and seasoned well, the chicken pate was also very good. Our third dish was clearly no stand out as I cannot even remember what else we ordered. Also, we did not have a reservation, so we were able to sit in what is considered a common area. This actually turned out to be a really fun option. We were seated at a low bar table with one side lined with chairs and the other facing the window out to the small patio area. This table seats about 7 or 8, and is a mix of various parties, so you will dine next to strangers. The set up of the table and chairs make it easy to still have a private meal here, but you could also potentially make some new friends. So, good choice, happy we tried it out and would certainly return.

Sister brought me here before an Astros game. She'd visited while on a date and wanted to get back ASAP. We ordered from the Happy Hour menu. Meatball sliders-they were good. A little heavy on the fresh basil for me but still good. Zucchini & Corn fritters w/truffle honey- These were OUTSTANDING! Order them, you will not be disappointed. Roasted Carrot Pizza- Sounds strange, tastes amazing. Everything is made to order from scratch. The atmosphere is unique and fun. Service was very good and I will definitely be back!

My husband and I have dined here a few times and really love coming here. I love the fact that you can dress up or come casual. You will usually see people dressed both ways. Inside, the restaurant has an industrial kitchen kind of look and offers tables both inside and outside with a wrap around bar and lots of seating as well. The food is always good, imaginative with good presentation. We have yet to find anything that we did not really enjoy. The fact that they offer a wide range of "Small Plates" which are almost like tapas or appetizers plus soups, salads, full dinners, desserts and a great fully stocked bar is only a bonus because the chefs and bartenders are so creative with the food and drink offerings. We love to sit at the bar and enjoy the friendly, hip young bartenders who are always entertaining to visit with and to watch as they mix their varied concoctions. If you hope to purchase one of their wonderful baked items on a Saturday, be sure to get there before 3 when the bakery closes. We will definitely be back at the bar.

This restaurant has a relatively limited selection of excellent dishes on their Sunday Brunch menu, all of them good, and supplemented by some special dishes every week. I had the Morning Cracked Egg Pizza, a dish composed of eggs, panchetta, basil, potatoes and cheese. The promotion good for two, my wife a traditional eggs and bacon, on a croissant, our neighbor, skirt steak and eggs, and the rest of our party numerous other dishes -all excellent. Service was great and prices were reasonable for what you got.

Ugly delicious! Sunday brunch knocked me flat - first, try the cardamom dough-knots. Hubby had Eggs Benedict - best he’s ever had. I had soft polenta and ate every bite with incredulity. Such a simple, phenomenal meal. Lots of groups, families, kiddos - we like that, and the atmosphere and friendly staff means 5 stars from me! YUM!!!

After a long day of walking, my husband and I were grateful to find this gem a bit off the beaten path (a few blocks away from the train we were riding back to our hotel). When we perused the menu, we both had a difficult time choosing what to eat. Everything sounded so good. My husband ended up getting the short rib sandwich, and I ordered a chicken sandwich (I do not believe the version I had is currently on the menu). In any case, both were delicious. With so many delicious options, we were eager to return. Alas, the remainder of our trip did now allow for it, but we hope to go back to Houston in the near future, and if we do, this place is at the top of our list.

Our dinner was a lovely experience all around. Service was good, timing was good, food was excellent. We ate early to avoid too much room noise. A fun energy throughout. I look forward to returning.

i have gone to weights and measures numerous times and it never disappoints. our server, Christian was friendly and and real pro. the food is so delicious there, got the mushroom soup yesterday and beer battered fish and chips, outstanding. can't wait to go again.

I was a bit skeptical because the place looked a bit like a hotel cafeteria to me at first. I was wrong. The French toast with chicken was great, but I expected that. What I didn't expect was that the Birria pizza would be so amazing: packed with meat and mozzarella and served with consommé. The portions are also very big. Frankly, just the pizza or the French toast would be enough for the two of us, but I'm happy we tried both. The coffee was surprisingly good too. I'd expected something smoky, but it was very fruity—another nice surprise.

I had dinner at W&M and was pleasantly surprised. The menu is interesting but still good and unpretentious. On this night I had the Honeycrisp apple salad. I was very surprised to see the salad was primarily apple with a little celery, nuts and dressing arranged along the center of a large white plate. It was plated beautifully and it tasted good. Before the salad we had the haystack, a mountain of onion strings with an interesting twist of sesame seasoning. I didn't like the sesame surprise. We split a sausage pizza for the entre. It was good but not outstanding. The service was good but we had the minor hiccup of the appetizer and drinks being charged at the regular rate when we arrived in time for happy hour. I'll definitely go back. This place is very popular and in a good location just south of midtown.

Very modern but warm mid town restaurant with bakery! Under the disco ball that gave pleasant ambience and not glaring intrusion we had a very nice dinner. Our waiter was efficient and helpful with wine selection and gave very good suggestions which we glad we took. There are some very good appetizers such as scallop risotto and a duck on crisp bread with very tasty and unique flavors. The pizza is top notch and so was the eggplant steak. I definitely will come here again.

I had the lamb chops with lemon yogurt sauce, the margherita Pizza and the parpadelle with scallops and tiger prawns. The lamb was amazing and a very reasonable for $18. The pizza was from a wood burning oven and was very good. The parpadelle was amazing. The rose sauce was amazing, almost like a bisque/broth. I highly recommend the lamb and parpadelle

Stopped in for a bit of mid afternoon lunch and found it was Happy Hour. Bartender Seth was very informative and quite entertaining. We'd been there for breakfast a couple months before and found their luncheon fare to be at the same high standard of quality.

Wife and I decided to try Weights + Measures after reviewing their menu online. Food was great as well as the service. We plan on going back next time we are in Houston to try some of the other great sounding dishes.

What a great meal. After taking the waiter's suggestion for cocktails, we started with the ribeye meatballs, which were delicious just by themselves. Then we tried the pate and bread. We should have stopped there: those were both delicious and really, quite filling. But we also ordered the day's special pizza, which had a fried egg for dipping: so good. We couldn't pass on dessert: we went with their dessert of the day, a homemade ice cream and cookie. We left the restaurant stuffed. The price is about what is expected, though we took the offered second round of bread to go with the pate and were charged for it. Of course, even then, we took a loaf of bread with us as well as some sweets. This is definitely a place to return to.

My daughter said they have the best vanilla cream donuts, she was not kidding! They’re all gourmet hand-made, it really is melt-in-your mouth delicious. The cream filling is definitely mousse-like and not overly sweet. I got both choc. dipped and powdered types and both are awesome. The pecan roll was piping hot right out of the oven and also a top favorite too. They rotate varieties - get there early, opens @7:00-11:00am. Don’t pass this one up, book mark the site!

This is a combination bakery, restaurant and bar (open until midnight) that serves unique pizza, coffee based drinks, salads, sandwiches, and entrees, and has a bar. The bakery is part of the facility as well and creates breads and pastries in an glass walled kitchen. Both meals I've had (lunch) were top notch from a taste, freshness and creativity perspective. Service was excellent both times. The ambience is industrial / transitional. I've not experienced dinner there but would do so. Recommend.

The food was wonderful and even on a very busy night the wait staff did a great job. The food was first class. The only faults was we did not get the welcome cocktail and the bar was slow. Also the coffee was cold. But given the volume of customers it was minor. We return on a less busy night.

Our second trip. Last time the service was off, but the got it right this time. We had reservations for six and they sat us immediately. The food was great, pizza shrimp short ribs and steak. Everything was cooked well and very tasty We had a cou;le of breadboards for an appetizer The doknots were actually more like beignets, but they were good. We also had a few cocktails and a bottle of wine. The price was about what you would expect, not cheap, but not over the top either

Four of us went to Weights + Measures to celebrate a birthday. Two members in our party had been to W+M before; two had not. The two that had been love the restaurant. The two of us that had not, now love the restaurant!! A really nice start to going to W+M is that it is 1) easy to find and 2) they have lots of FREE surface parking in their own lot. (That is becoming more rare in Houston these days.) Upon parking, I wasn't sure if I was to enter to the left or the right of the parking lot. Being closer to the right side, I entered here, through the bakery side, which connected to the restaurant. (You can also enter and exit from the other side.) To start with, we ordered three small plates, including the chickpea hummus with wood roasted mushrooms and flatbread (very nice portion; the mushrooms were beautifully sautéed, and the flatbread was delicious); the ribeye meatballs (very good and, again, a nice portion size); and the Mediterranean mussels cooked in a white wine/butter/herb sauce and accompanied by two large pieces of their semolina bread. This was a nice way to try a number of items by sharing with friends. Note: Although the mussel dish was nice to share, one might want it on their own so they can "slurp" the butter wine sauce which gets left behind when you share. The mussels were quite large, and surprisingly from P.E.I. (which are normally quite small). In terms of wine selections, Peter was more than happy to let us have a "sip" tasting before we made our final selection on any wine by the glass. For dinner, two friends split a pizza (not sure which one, but they said it was excellent); the pizza was very large and placed on an unusual wood pedestal. One friend had the Iceberg Slab, which was a large half head of lettuce with pancetta and a green goddess dressing. She did not realize it came with two nice pieces of grilled citrus skirt steak which looked delicious! I chose to have a small plate of the ahi tuna tartare with shaved fennel. When it was served to me, at first I thought it was a very small plate, but when I knocked it over to eat it, it was the perfect amount and just what I wanted! For the birthday girl, we ordered one dessert to share. She selected the apricot almond bread pudding which came with quite a candle decoration (see the photo). Peter, our server, was absolutely the best, anticipating our every need. He was always there when we needed him, but was careful that he was not there too much. He was a very interesting young man, so we enjoyed bantering with him throughout the evening and our celebration was made all the better because of him, so, thank you, Peter! Lastly, they serve the bill in a old cassette plastic box which is a very clever way to reuse something that might normally end in a landfill. Kudos to recycling!

This place is brunch-extraordinaire. It is a super chic/hipster place. Seems like the prime spot for young professionals. The food is amazing and the prices are not too bad if you are on a budget. Definitely stop by and bring your best hipster attire! :D

Lovely space although they may have overloaded on the orange accents. Fantastic menu choices for breakfast we had the avocado toast and another egg sandwich and agreed that one sandwich would have been plenty. We also had the sautéed spinach which was excellent. Lattes were well made-- mine had a bear on it instead of a heart or flower. Great wait staff everyone worked well together and you will want to stop for some bread to take home at the slo-dough counter.

here with friends on a recent visit. felt this was a good choice for midrange dining. the pizza's are good. we shared several small plates, all good. Gnocchi was my favorite. ordered the rabbit tortellini, tasted great.

Weights & Measures is a modern, clean, bright and attractive restaurant in the middle of an old, somewhat modest midtown neighborhood that is undergoing slow but persistent gentrification. The restaurant doubles up as a bakery, and a competent one at that. For lunch, you are offered a few delightful appetizers (try the Russet chips with blue cheese dip!), soups, salads, sandwiches, pizzas and a few mains. The pizzas are to share and are great: thin crust, plenty of toppings and delicious. The list of wines by the list is very good and there is a full bar. Prices are quite reasonable. There is free parking and valet parking on site.

Great place to have a business lunch near downtown. Menu has nice and tasty options from salads, sandwiches to main entrees. Service is attentive and food comes out quickly if it needs to be a short lunch. Don't forget about the outstanding bakery for pastries and bread before you leave! Will go again!

Really cool place. I went for Houston Restaurant week and got there early so I could check out the Happy Hour. Their happy hour is really good, got an excellent pizza for $10 and a swanky listing of drinks. For dinner, I had the homemade pasta, very good. My hubby got the pork and lentils. The lentils ARE TO DIE FOR. So good. We'll be back for the happy hour.

I really enjoy going to Weights +Measures for their Happy Hour. They have a great wine selection and great appetizers and pizza to choose from. The music and the bartenders are also great.

Baked brioche and strawberry syrup was mouth watering! Early bird special of eggs ackley was perfect! Fresh squeezed orange juice was sweet and cool and refreshing. Bacon was perfected cooked and delicious! Cant wait to return for brunch.

What a lovely surprise! Fun bar area and delicious dinner. We had the citrus salmon and the seared ahi tuna. Both were Perfectly prepared. Staff was helpful and attentive. Nice place-

Weights and Measures is located in an emerging neighborhood, but there is nothing emerging about the menu. The food is consistently excellent. In the back of the restaurant there is a small bakery that offers excellent sweet and savory items and excellent coffee is available. Stop by for a snack or a meal: you will not be disappointed.

Two of us ate here for lunch during Houston Restaurant Weeks. It was a new place for both of us. We both ordered different items on the special menu. The crab cakes were unique and okay and the mahi mahi was a tad overcooked. The tagliatelle primavera was enjoyable. We enjoyed the magic bar and bread pudding desserts. Service was good. It might be fun to go try something else next time.

We stumbled upon this place after we decided that we didn’t want to wait in the massive line out the door at the Breakfast Klub a few blocks away. I liked that they had a big parking lot. Very up-scale, fancy, trendy. Our waitress was great. She was informative and friendly. All of the plates were huge portions! A little too expensive for me...tip and all ended up being $50 for two people, but it was a good experience.

It's not hard to pull a pint but I'm sick of complaing about ordering a pint and getting less than half a liter pic included get a grip and train staff I'm sick of telling them

Went there during Brunch on Sunday. Had a reservation so we where seated pretty quickly. Loved the pizzas we ordered and the apple drink I had. Would go there again. But, wasn’t very impressed with the service for the price we paid.. Would have given 5stars with the waiter didn’t keep making mistakes and also screwed up on the bill, which usually we never check.

Great menu and atmosphere! The bakery in the back might have the best bread in all of Houston. This restaurant is great standing alone, but don't miss the Bakery in the back!!!

Went there with a group of 7 people. Had to beg the bar tender for our drinks because the wait staff forgot about us. I understand large groups have automatic gratuity at places but when the service is not up to par you definitely should waive this. There’s absolutely no incentive for the staff to do a good job when it’s a automatic 20%

The ambiance is cool. The food is creative and delicious. The waitstaff is excellent. Bar has interesting as well as classic drinks that are well prepared. The only miscue- they do a poor job with separate checks. But I’m going to let that slide. Everything else there is so great I just don’t care. You will love it.

My companion and I had lunch here and were very impressed. We started with cocktails, the Almost Paradise and a gin/cucumber drink (I cannot remember the name and it is not on the online menu), both were excellent. Our starter was the sesame haystack onions, a pile of slim, tangly, sweet and perfectly fried onion rings. My companion ordered the Roasted Carrot Pizza, which was amazingly flavorful, meat eaters should give this one a try. I had the Wagyu Short Rib Sandwich, which tasted like a Yankee Pot Roast Sandwich that died and went to heaven- delicious! All of the dough and bread is baked by the Slow Dough Bakery, which I think makes the best bread in Houston. Now for the bakeshop, we bought a variety of pastries on our way out and all of them lived up to my expectations, some of the best pastries I have tasted (including ones in the pastry capitols of Europe). Two nice lunchtime features of this restaurant/bake shop is they have plenty of parking and the pastries are restocked during the day so you don't get slim pickings.

Strong coffee, great menu for breakfast. I usually get the daily omlet, trying smoked salmon with dill mascarpone today. Polenta with seeds excellent vegetarian option as well.

Came here for Saturday brunch and cocktails with friends whilst we were visiting them from the UK. Great service and atmosphere with a good selection of dishes on the menu - some of them slightly left field which is always interesting. Chicken and doughnuts anyone? Why not - it's great. Stop in if you're in town - it's a great place.

We aren't locals but visit Houston often and have wanted to eat here for some time now. On our way from Houston Methodist to the Hilton Americas last night, I was looking for dining options. W+M popped up on our path so we just walked in. Although it was a Friday night during happy hour, we were seated quickly by the friendly hostess. We ordered the Tuscan Kale Panzanella salad (pear, bacon, port vinaigrette) and a pizza. Both were delicious and flavorful. Our server, Ramon, was attentive throughout the meal and helpful with options. Nathan (manager I believe) as well as another gentleman wearing a blazer constantly monitored the restaurant and meal prep in a very polished, professional manner. We loved the vibe and atmosphere in the restaurant and had a wonderful experience. We will definitely return!

First, I like the owners for committing to an area of town that needs more activity. Second, on a week night this week my wife and I ate at the restaurrant. Lots of energy inside . Food was good. Pizza crust flavor was excellent but a little undercooked. Should have been wood oven crunchy but was limp. Pretty l9oud inside so we opted for the small patio and irt was very nice. We will go back

Really enjoyed this restaurant. The food was very fresh and delicious. Service was brilliant and drinks (cocktails) delicious. Only odd thing was the humous - it was warm and a bit slimy! Overall fabulous though.

My husband and I had been walking Nasa, the aquarium and then walked from our hotel downtown to Weights and Measures. We were a little underdressed and windblown by the time we got there. However, the staff was incredibly busy and still wonderful. I would show you a picture of the ravioli, but I inhaled it. The smallish room cocktail was lovely. My husband enjoyed the rabbit immensely. I lovely ending to a long day. Our hotel shuttle picked us up from there. So if your staying downtown, I'm sure your hotel will do the same. Next time we are in town, we are getting the pizza. We may make an excuse every time we're in town to drop by. Call ahead if you want patio seating. It goes quickly on a nice night.

That was really the only challenge...what to order from so many yummy sounding items. My friend had the salmon Benedict special. All good!

I got in town early to be on time for the Rockets game I decided to check this place out. I have been researching a few different spots to eat at in Houston and this was on top of my list. The food was pricey but i enjoyed it and the place was nice and quiet. This a good place for a quiet meal for one or a friend or two. It's not a sports bar but the vibe is real laid back. I will go back in the future.

On a hunt for the best croissants in town, we visited Weight + Measures, which, in addition to being a delightful restaurant, is also a bakery. We read some weeks ago that the bakery made it a goal to create the best croissants in town. It was not an empty statement: the croissants were truly delicious: the dough was perfect, the taste buttery, the texture, flaky, and it all melted in our mouth. This croissant is second to none, and better than most croissants in town.

The menu is definitely tapa style and expensive. Portions are very small. Three of us had apps and a few glasses of wine and the bill was over 200.00. I didn't feel the service or food was worth the money and would not go back.

Weights + Measures is an eclectic eatery which features an outstanding on-site bakery, a vibrant bar scene and a contemporary American bistro offering an tempting variety of food choices. We visited for weekday lunch and they were very busy but still provided friendly, efficient service. 3 of us ordered their luncheon salmon sandwich and one in our party ordered the pork cutlet -- we were all very pleased with the taste, quality and presentation. We would certainly return to try additional menu options.

Houston has some good spots for brunch but this was by far the best in terms of food. The menu is very creative and caters to all tastes. And the ginger bellinis are to die for...! Make sure you have a designated driver and brunch away! Top marks. Will definitely be back.

We walked over from a friends place. Even at 6 pm on a Wed it was busy but we were lucky to get seated right away. The tables are VERY close together so it's hard not to eavesdrop on the people nearby and but also a little difficult to hear your friends across the table. It's eclectically decorated- like industrial "lite" but fun and not too sterile. We ordered an assortment of small plates and then a pizza and entrees. The small plates were incredibly tasty- the special that night was salmon tartare and it was divine. As advertised (small) not a lot of food but what was there was amazing. But the haystack of onions was a good size and light and crispy. I didn't have the pizza but the the others all ordered different pizzas. They ate them in record speed and said they were incredible. They had a wood fired oven and apparently the dough is aged for days. I had the evening special entree of seared tuna and my goodness it was so tasty. But holy mackerals it was EXPENSIVE!. I didn't think to ask the server and it wasn't mentioned! We didn't have dessert. Not a cheap meal by any means but it was really tasty and the service was good.

This hole in the wall mom and pop place will amaze you. The drink menu and cocktails will blow your mind , and the food is spectacular! We have never had a bad meal, the chef and staff are amazing and the food is 100% fresh and cooked to perfection. Leave room for amazing deserts. In addition their brunch and bakery is to die for... We will as always be back!!!!!!!

The Father's day brunch was a great way to celebrate with our youngest adult daughter and Hubby. If you bought a whole bottle of prosecco (or other bubbly) you received a carafe of OJ with it to make Mimosas, which was fun. We split a margherita pizza which was EXCELLENT and we split Oaxaca scrambled eggs which is a croissant, with scrambled eggs, cheese and bacon with hot sauce on the side, accompanied by sautéed spinach (which was also great). This was enough food for lunch for three of us but we had to have dessert - the bakery attached to the restaurant sells cookies, cakes, and breads. We had a large - easily split by three- delicious carrot cake. It was so moist and tasty. The service was great, too. My only complaint is that it was VERY loud and I could barely hear our conversation at the table. There were several selections of salmon dishes (not my cup of tea but I know it is very popular). The costs of meals were reasonable.

I love the bakery here and often pick up baguettes and sourdough bread for home. If I have time I stop for breakfast. Dinner is marvelous too and recently they served a chorizo dish that was absolutely phenomenal. The pizzas are fantastic.

We hadn't visited since just after the restaurant opened. We enjoyed it much more this time. They have found the right direction for the dishes. Good wine list, too. We stopped in on a Saturday with friends. Two started with a cocktail, Summer Loving(?), which would have been better without ice. I had a Rosé and my friend, a Sancerre. Great options by the glass. Two of us enjoyed the Dried Olive Pasta—unusual, light and flavorful. One person has the Crispy Pan Roasted Chicken Breast which was okay; the other had the mussels which got rave reviews. We shared a bottle of Sancerre with dinner. Dessert was very good, we had Salted Chocolate Cremeux and Flourless Chocolate Cake. The presentation and flavors of the second one were outstanding. It was good to visit again and have a much better experience this time. It was nice to have a parking lot without dealing with valet. Service felt a bit rushed. The only criticism, which is purely a personal one, is that several people tried to clear my plate while everyone else was still eating. It's a pet peeve: the other dinners may feel rushed and I feel awkward, as a quick eater, to be sitting there with an empty spot in front of me. I realize they aren't trained in this type of service and it probably doesn't bother most people. The servers were very friendly. I'd go back again.

A group of 10 of us were celebrating a friends birthday. They would not allow us to bring in a birthday cake. We ordered a margherita pizza, the kitchen must have ran out of cheese because only 3 slices had any cheese on it! It's $17 bucks for a glass of house wine, so we only had 1 glass each. The onion rings and the service was great, total bill for 2 people $120, I did not see the value in that, could have gone anywhere else and had a really great meal!

We have tried Weights & Measures a couple of time. It's been busy, so we sat at the "community table" which was fine. Large portions, so think about sharing your meal or taking home some leftovers. Interesting people watching, as most of the dinners are young residents of the midtown area.

This place was very trendy...The waiter was wonderful, however I thought the food was mediocre. The atmosphere was not that noisy. I do not think I will be returning. Location was too far away.

The place has a restaurant with "proper" lunch and dinner but also a small bakery on the side where you can have a variety of freshly baked goods. I had a fat free cappuccino and a delicious scone. Service was very nice and prompt. Highly recommendable!

Just a great place - community feel, impressive menu, quality food and service. I just loved everything about it from the small plates (peas!) and my entree (perfect fish dish) to the server recommended wine.

Oh my we tried it for the first time yesterday and beyond impressed. My husband had the pork special. It is pork covered with the best Mac and cheese I have ever tasted. I dreamt about it last night I swear. I had the wagging short rib sandwich and it lacked seasoning , but melted in my mouth. Donuts were a miss for me, but everything else was basically spot on with a little help from salt and pepper and pepper flakes. Parking is tight, but they do have valet which we did not realize. I will definetly be back!
It was okay, was hoping for more
The food here was okay. The portion size of the pasta dish we ordered was small. The three food plates were good though. The service while friendly was a bit sluggish. We may return if in the neighborhood but would not make a drive to return here.
