The view was nice, service was very good, but the food, not so much. I almost got sick later from eating the blue cheese potatoes. The meat selection was good, but not so much for side dishes, I tried to be a good sport and try and eat the blue cheese potatoes, but they were not good. Even my husband who likes blue cheese, didn't care a whole lot for them. As for him, he ordered the ahi tacos, which were good, but very little meat in them. I will not be returning to this restaurant, nor will I recommend it to anyone

Had breakfast which was good, but the coffee was the best we had in a long time and the restaurant always had people in.

penthouse restaurant serves a delicious breakfast in an uncrowded, luxe but reasonably priced setting

While portions are small, food quality is high in keeping with the pricing. The wine prices are above the expected. It offers a comfortable atmosphere with an attentive waitstaff. The views are worth the price of the meal.

I was here twice during a business trip, for happy hour drinks and snacks. The location is great - the 17th floor of the Angeleno, offers great views of the city and (at happy hour) the completely clogged traffic jam of I-405, where people definitely are not as happy. They have a decent well, so HH drinks are quality and the Pulled Pork Sliders and Fish Tacos are very good and generously portioned, especially at $6 per plate. Five stars for the Happy Hour and the Location. During one visit, a plate was mistakenly delivered to another patron, who thought it was complimentary and took to munching right away. Instead of just writing that off and bringing another plate, the server was questioned and counseled in front of the guests at the bar. Not cool! One star for that management practice, and possibly the slowest elevator in Los Angeles. Overall this is a good location with good food and I would definitely return.

Sitting at the top of the Hotel Angeleno, West proved a surprisingly approachable place to sit and eat. We hit Happy Hour first, relaxing with a nice wine and some generous small plates. It proved enough for the evening so we decided we'd go back the next night for dinner after a visit to the Getty. Food was very good, server very attentive and helpful (good wine recommendation) and we both enjoyed the evening. All the staff was very professional and friendly, if also LA Pretty. The views can't be beat.

Breakfast service is horrible- waiters running around but not accomplishing anything. Dinner service is a little better, but waiters are not educated with the menu (may have been because the menu is new, but have a freaking staff meeting to educate your staff!). Food is blah and bland. The desserts were average. No music was playing like a previous reviewer commented. We ate here because we wanted to stay in the hotel one night and regretted it at each course. Stay away!

During our stay at Hotel Angeleno, we visited the West Restaurant for drinks one evening as well as for breakfast. On both occasions, we were very pleased with the service and the quality of product. Not to mention, the restaurant is beautifully decorated and has gorgeous views of LA. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant during your stay at the hotel.

The food here was very nice, there were limited choices, but sometimes that is a good thing! The steak and salad were very nice, as were the desserts. The staff were very attentive and kept bringing us bread when we had finished it.

Excellent food, superb wines for every palette, professional, warm service. Some of the best food Ive eaten in a long time.

Best hotel food I have had in years. Best server I have possibly ever had - CHASE - you rock. Best view maybe in all of LA. A tad pricey if it weren't a hotel. The Salads are awesome and the Avocado toast is great.

CiCi the young woman who seated us in the lounge was very pleasant and friendly. We ordered the flatbread which was excellent. It came in four pieces, was warm and soft. Very tasty!! We also had hummus and pita bread which was excellent. We really enjoyed the location and the view from the lounge. Altogether a great experience

From the start to the finish we were more than satisfied with West. For a starter I had the clam chowder; my wife had the trio of cauliflower. She had the seafood stew; I had the lamb shank. We shared an order of ricotta cheesecake. I drank glasses of two different California Pinots noirs, both very tasty. Add an attractive view and good service, and the dinner was a success. West is not cheap, but not especially expensive either, and the gratuity is included in the price. Definitely recommended.

I chose West for a business breakfast with a client from out-of-town because I knew she would enjoy the panoramic view as well as the ability to spread out and work quietly even while others were around us. But most of all I chose it for the great three-egg omelettes, among the best and most indulgent around (at least four ingredients of your choice).

We had dinner on a Monday night. We ordered the Filet Mignon and it was $36/each. It was nothing special and rather espensive for what you got. They did not even bring us bread until we asked. We went for Happy Hour in the bar prior to dinner. I had a Long Island Ice Tea and it cost $14. I never paid that much for the drink before. Clearly not Happy Hour prices. The view was best from the seating in the bar.

Delicious food. Great wait staff - recommended dishes and, when a dish I had had previously was not listed offered to have it specially made.

Fish and chips were made with fresh salmon, unusual and very tasty. Staff very friendly...try the selection of local beers, very nice!

We celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary dinner here after a direct flight from Sydney that morning. The service was perfect and the food phenomenal! The best start to our USA holiday.

We enjoyed West Restaurant's more casual side during our stay at Hotel Angeleno. Excellent small plates -- especially the fish tacos and the quinoa salad. Nice small selection of on-tap beers and mixed drinks.

Eat above the busy bustling city of LA, great views of the hills and the city. Service was amazing, food was great!

West sits on the 17th floor of the Hotel Angeleno, and offers panoramic views that stretch as far as the eye can see. As importantly, it showcases healthy, original dishes that are sure to satisfy the most difficult of diner. I so enjoyed every meal I took there during my stay!

The food was good when I ate breakfast each morning, The view from the 24th was also good and it had nice décor.

We just had some sandwiches and soft drinks. The views were great, there was live music. Rather loud for our taste. Friendly staff.

Such a nice dinner!!! It was really good with a nice view by night. The personnal was very kind and professionnal. The menu was research and original. Everything was very tasty. Thank you for this nice moment

While the menu was a bit short, the selections were both basic and adventurous - and delicious. We had a late evening, light meal and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was of very good quality - fresh, tasty, well prepared, and well presented. If you're wondering if you should go find a local restaurant away from the hotel or risk the often lessor hotel restaurant - in this case, pick the hotel restaurant. You won't be disappointed: it's great food right there at the hotel.

I loved my evening meal from West Restaurant, shrimp carbonara! It was gourmet, so when I had breakfast I expected the same level of food preparation. I was disappointed with the Eggs Benedict , the eggs were over cooked, the sauce too tart, and clumpy! What happened between night and day! Also my evening service was excellent in the restaurant, the bar was friendly and took, great care of you, but my morning service was awful. The female waiter disappeared after taking my order and only showed up towards the end of meal. I was thankful a gentleman bring the food was able to refill my water glass.

Started with the crispy egg with bacon jam and arugula - totally amazing. Followed that with three little towers of braised pork on a little rounds of crispy potato and topped with a little horseradish - again really delicious. I had the Hangar steak with creamy polenta and kale with pine nuts and raisins. A completely satisfying dinner. Service was attentive, with visits from both the restaurant manager and the chef ! Dessert was a chocolate terrine with orange slices and a homemade caramel ice cream. Just the perfect end to a great meal. Menus will change seasonally so check out the website before you make your reservation Can;t wait to go back !

We were setting for 30 minutes without being noticed by any staff members, completely ignored, when we asked for coffee they were rude and with an attitude we just stand up and leave. If you want to be treated like crap go here. Worst service in LA.

The view is awesome!!!! we had a great server who guided us as to what to eat--we arrived very late --after 10:00--and she was so nice--no problem she said!!! drinks were very good and salad very fresh--breakfast was o.k.--what do you want from bacon and eggs???? but it was the view and server on both meals that was outstanding--we took our grandchildren for a lite supper in the bar area---they are 5 and 9--again the waitress was outstanding--she was so good with the children---so we ate there 3 times and the food and service each time was exceptional---yes we will go again--and will recommend it--

Had breakfast twice and lunch and dinner once. No problem with the quality of the food or the service. It is a bit expensive but there is no where else near about. The menu was the same every day but we were only staying a few days.

Service was simply awful. Friends and I decided to have a drink after a day at the Getty and thought we'd try the West lounge at the Hotel Angeleno. When we pulled up around 5:30 PM there was a sign posted at valet that said Happy Hour Every Day 4-7, so we thought bonus since it was a Sunday. We then took the elevator to the 17th floor where we were met by this young guy in dreads that looked at us like a deer in head lights. When he took us to our table I said "tell us about your happy hour", to which he said, "every day is happy", but we don't have it on Sundays, to which I told him that there was a sign downstairs stating every day to which he replied "oh, I'm sure I can do something for you". After taking our order I turned to my friends and said, is it me or did he avoid the question all together, Okay, whatever, let's just order off the menu and get some food, we didn't come for happy hour anyway. When we attempted to order he said, "not sure we can do that the kitchen doesn't open until 6:00PM". Okay its 5:45, maybe he could take our order and put it in when it opens in 15 min? About 10 minutes later the bartender (young lady with brown hair in a bun) abruptly come us and says "who had the margarita? We don't have the kind of tequila you ordered. Oh boy, a new happy face. Out of curiosity I will ask her what happy hour entailed to which she said, "well drinks, well Cosmo, lemon drops, beer and wine, no food" and marched off. Okay at this point we all looked at each other and say nice view, but it a shame about the service. So our drinks finally come and the margarita is clearly missing sweet and sour or was made with all lime juice. I asked if it could be replaced with a martini to which the bartender just took it from my hand and tossed it into the trash. No I'm sorry, was there something wrong with it...she said nothing. Bottom line I like Joie De Vivre hotels and have stayed at numerous ones in the bay area, but maybe they have bit off more they can chew with this one, It lacks the personal touch, friendliness and service standards of their sister properties, Hotel Vitale, Rex and Carlton. And perhaps I was so disappointed because I was a big fan and impressed with their service in the past. So it was really disappointing to feel like they no longer "get it". I blame management for not hiring right, training and supervising this staff. It looks like Chip and his team have taken their eyes off the ball and we have another mediocre hotel in the Los Angeles area.

The food here was uneven. The salads and appetizers were amazing, the entrees not so much. Great place for a drink and a snack.

Each morning during our stay at Hotel Angeleno, we ate breakfast at this restaurant. 4 out of 4 days, we had issues. Each day, at least one person in our party received the incorrect food; one morning, they lost our order and we had to reorder after a 20 minute wait; one morning, we never knew who our server was--we simply asked whoever was going by for water, coffee, etc.

The view and the the meal that I had at the top of this hotel at a West Resaurant was the highlight of this facility.

Great service, wonderful views, the chef hit it out of the park. The prices were good. They were just a little more of what you would pay at a good steak house, but they offer dishes that are typically offered at a more expensive restaraunt. Our party ordered sea bass, rack of lamb, and the rib eye. And the chef hit it out of the park!

Unless you love to see cars moving in a freeway the view of this restaurant does not impress very much. Although the food is ok, it is overpriced for what you get. If you are a guest in the hotel, you may go there once, but that's it.

This place has some great views. Make sure you get seated by the window. The food is very tasty, I'd probably easily eat afterwards as the quantity was small. The service is great and the staff are friendly and welcoming. We had our breakfast, dinner and bar food there over three days. Just be aware, they charge $3.50 for English Tea at breakfast.

We tried this place whilst staying at the hotel we couldn't be bothered to go out after a long flight so up we went . There are some great views up there we were seated quickly after a drink in the lounge and both ordered steaks these were great as were the quail and meatball starters. Only gripe I have is they clear the plates to quick before everyone at the table had finished this's to me bad etiquette but that's all. Would definitely recommend and will call again.

Located at the top of the former Holiday Inn at the 405 and Sunset, I was skeptical this place would have the advertised view, but there it was, one of the best in LA! Our server was new, but great, and he took a lot of ribbing by our raucous group. Considering the wait staff did not receive tips (we did not know), he was exceptional! The food was very good, too--fresh and tasty standard lunch offerings of generous salads, burgers, sandwiches, etc., with prices that were fair considering tips were included. If you go to the Getty and don't want to wait in a long line to eat cafeteria food, you will be pleasantly surprised here and probably pay about the same.

Stayed here recently and due to the hotelslocation - not being near anything local - we ate in the West. Steak for me and it was very good and reasonably priced. Good service and lovely views - recommended

The best French toast ever!! Coffee was great and the breakfast was on the money! The restaurant is on the 17 floor and the views were spectacular of LA!! They have a full bar also.Sat morning they have live Blues music and it goes so well with breakfast!! Love it.

We just had a surprisingly pleasant and delicious Sunday brunch with the wonderful view over LA and a soft jazz duo playing in the background. For hearty appetites, the New Yorker breakfast comes highly recommended if you like smoked salmon. If you are a member of the Inner Circle club (free to register at the hotel), you get 15% off food and drink. Additionally, this is now a tipless hotel, so no need to leave added tips.

The entire experience was great. The view from this level was breathtaking. The food was very tasty and service was excellent. The cost was a bit pricey but it was worth it.

Just came to this bar for a happy hour drink and was shocked at the prices. I know we are in LA but for a hotel bar off the beaten path it was over priced. The bartender was also wasted and slurring his words. I don't have any idea about the food.

I have only eaten breakfast here on my various visits, and it is outstanding. Amazing view, and the best French Toast I have ever had!

Delicious breakfast. Yummy dinner. Service at night could be much better- long delays between appearances of the waitstaff to the table.

We went to this restaurant whilst staying at the hotel (not much else around within walkig distance). The food was fresh & well prepared - the fresh bread with chopped tomato & basil to start was a nice touch. Not a cheap eat (the wine was quite expensive too) but overall an enjoyable experience.

The restaurant was great. Unfortunately, I did not have dinner this time around but I was very surprised at how GREAT the breakfast was (fist timer). I always thought of West as a Restaurant / Bar / Lounge but now I know... Egg whites, chicken sausage, toast, potatoes and coffee.... YUM!

I ate at WEST Restaurant LA while staying at the Hotel Angeleno, but have to say, I would definitely come here even if I were not staying in the hotel! The views of LA are UNBEATABLE! Gorgeous! And the food is fresh and tasty with large portion sizes. Friendly service, too. While the menu may seem pricy, remember that it's Los Angeles and everything is expensive. Also, this restaurant is TIPLESS. So all-in-all it comes out to a pretty good value. Don't miss this Los Angeles must-see!

Fresh choices, great selection (especially if you like Benedicts). I loved the pork belly hash on the potato pancake. Great virgin bloody mary with olives & onions.

This is a unique restaurant on the 17th floor of Hotel Angeleno. The views of LA from below the Getty Center are spectacular. The menu is varied and interesting as is the cocktail selection. The restaurant is billed as "upscale" and the prices follow suit. This is one of our favorite LA hotels and we have eaten at West often. Our dinner on a Thursday evening did not disappoint. The only downside was the noise level. We were surrounded by two large parties who seemed to have little regard for other diners attempting to have quiet conversation. The noise level at times reminded one of a sports bar. Hopefully this was an anomaly, but it certainly put a damper on a hoped for quiet, romantic evening during our hotel stay.

Had a very delicious breakfast here. Well-cooked and executed. Good menu choices. Reasonably priced. Friendly, attentive service. Excellent brewed iced tea.

Perfectly ripe breakfast fruit in the morning and the evening amazing entrees and tapas with incredibly fresh ingredients. Try the seared sea scallops with the wild mushroom and pancetta risotta starter!

I held a business dinner for 4 here on a Friday night. The location was convenient to the 405 Freeway, and the view (17th floor of hotel), food, and service were all first rate. I had the seared scallop and roasted cord appetizer and the seared Ahi main course. Both were very well done and well served. Apart from traffic getting there on the 405, I'd absolutely recommends it.

We ate dinner here twice while staying at Hotel Angeleno. The food was amazing and the service was great tool

Like most people I don't normally eat in a hotel I'm staying at--but the food at the West was delicious! My regular old comfort breakfast of bacon and eggs was raised to the level of gourmet treat with tasty bread, excellent strong coffee, and crispy fresh potatoes. We wound up going back to West for most of the meals of our stay just because it was so good.

"Skip the Tip" because gratuity is included...and West Restaurant is exactly the reason why mandatory tipping doesn't work. The food is great, when it arrives, but we spent 3 days hunting down servers whether it was breakfast or lunch and the bartenders were horrid every night we stopped in for drinks. We stay at Angeleno often due to its central location for our clients; however, we try to avoid West restaurant as much as possible due to the lousy service.

Ate there twice, dinner and a breakfast, the dinner was really exceptional, cocktail and appetizers, in lounge area and then dinner for 6, the stuffed meatball starter is a must, absolutely delicious, 3 had the filets temperatures were spot on, good flavor, no one complained and the service was exceptional. Friendly Very attentive but not intrusive. Breakfast on the other hand was somewhat disappointing, service was a bit more lackluster, only 2 of us we both ordered eggs Benedict, one eggs poached hard one normal, both came out basically hard boiled, and the hollandaise Sauce was a bit thick and flavorless, was a bit surprising considering the meal the night before.

I ate both a lunch and a breakfast at the West Restaurant. The restaurant is on the 17th floor and has magnificent views. I was able to see Catalina both times I was there. Breakfast is reasonably priced and fresh. I had fresh fruit and poached eggs for breakfast. It was a large bowl of fruit, and the eggs were cooked properly. For lunch I had a quinoa salad which was delicious. The service was good. Nice to have a good restaurant at a hotel.

We stayed at the hotel Angeleno or we would never have found this cute hip place. The food was all locally grown with inventive combos such as stuffed quail with chanterelles and persimmon salad with grapefruit, Manchego, and mint, The restaurant was also on the 17th floor which allowed a lovely view of all the twinkling lights in west la while we ate. There is a lounge that appeared to be pretty hopping too and had live music.

We like West when we stay at Hotel Angelino. We always enjoy the excellent menu and the view whether it is dinner and drinks at night or breakfast in the morning.

A surprisingly good hotel restaurant that's good, and not just "it's hotel restaurant good." We came for drinks late on a Friday evening, and there was live music (made it a bit too loud to converse, but the performers were good). The next morning we went up for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised to see the reasonable prices and excellent food and nod to local favorites and sustainable menu items. The waitstaff service for breakfast was lacking, but the food nearly made up for it.

The restaurant setting is beautiful on the top floor of the Angeleno Hotel (about a mile from UCLA). One can look at the traffic stalled on the 405 freeway. The food is good, but overpriced. $24 for a hamburger? Our food server was robotic and followed a script; he never connected with his customers. The bar has jazz. The problem is that the bar abuts the restaurant. Difficult to have a quiet or romantic dinner with the improvisional and loud jazz permeating the dining area.

When you’re at the hotel in early evening, the last thing you want to do is negotiate traffic to head out to dinner … which made West, on the top of the Angeleno a godsend on a couple of nights during our recent stay. We’ve eaten on the “formal” side on previous stays, but felt less formal this time, so sat in the lounge area. Service was excellent – friendly and very attentive. Food was very good – we ordered from both the bar menu and the dinner menu. Prices were LA prices, but quality was excellent. If you’re there during rush hour, try the happy hour menu, appropriately titled “When the 405 Stops.” You can look down on the bumper-to-bumper sipping a fun cocktail, like a Road Rage, a @%#! The 405, or a Brake Lights and be thankful you’re not down there.

Food, service, drinks, and view were great. A little pricey but tips are included. Could of used a bit more atmosphere... it was a little quiet.

Again this is from a while back because I'm just now writing this: The food is wonderful but the service NOT. I was staying at the hotel so I went to the lounge after work on several occasions, the drinks were great and the bartender was nice. I liked the lobster mac and cheese and the views of the skyline are great.... The restaurant side was a bad experience. I showed up on Sunday before a meeting, I figured I would get something to eat and since its in my hotel it would be fast. Turns out it took forever. I got there and waited on my food, other people that got there before me were served, one guy even asked for a complicated frittata and his food arrived before my simple eggs Benedict which the waitress told mer were very good. After waiting and waiting I finally left. I went downstairs grabbed an apple and went to my meeting staving since I didn't want to be late. I contacted the manager about it and she was nice an apologized. If you don't have anything to do the food is delicious and i would recommend it but don't go there if you have plans or will go sight seeing as this will take forever to get your food.

Stayed at the hotel and had breakfast (good but a bit expensive) and dinner (ok food, but the some of the worst service I have ever experienced). As a frequent solo traveler, it is not uncommon in my experience to receive a lower level of attention than a larger table of guests, however, in this case, I continually had to stop the waiter to ask him to take my order, refil water, exchange the incorrect entree and finally to receive a check. I complained to coordinator at door who said "ok, thank you". Maybe for drinks, to avoid traffic or watch sun set - but I wouldnt risk a meal here again.

During our 3-night stay at the Hotel Angeleno, we ate at their West Restaurant five times, dinner twice and breakfast all three days. The breakfast menu is varied and interesting, with both standard bacon-and-eggs and gourmet novelties like crab-cake eggs benedict. The dinner menu's choice of entrees was more limited, but what they had was well prepared and well presented. Service was prompt and courteous. Prices are not cheap — breakfast for two with OJ and coffee will cost at least $30, and dinner for two with wine will be at least $100 — but such prices are to be expected in that part of L.A. And of course the view, 17 stories above Westwood and Bel-Air is outstanding, and helps a lot to justify the prices.

I had dinner at West one evening and also had breakfast there twice. The hosts, bar staff and servers all gave friendly service, and the food was consistently delicious. I especially recommend the almond French toast and the Scottish salmon risotto. The view of LA from the restaurant is spectacular and you should definitely try to see the sunset from there - the bar has happy hour every day from 4pm to 7pm; the cosmopolitans are excellent. The restaurant is fully wheelchair-accessible.

Excellent service and great food! We came to West for a birthday dinner and was not disappointed! Our server Eric was amazing & very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed! The food was definitely delicious and worth every bite.

My husband and I were guests on the hotel for a few days (great place to stay) and decided to try out West for breakfast one day. What a mistake!! Right from the person who greeted us and brought us to a table, to our servers all were very unpleasant and rather grumpy and rude! We ordered two regular 'American' breakfasts and coffee. So bland! The sausage looked like a lot at first but was actually just two small sausages cut in half. The toast came out completely bare and I had to ask for some butter and jam for it - to which the server was annoyed and angrily walked away to get it. Who eats plain bread, and pays $16 a plate for it?!? Over priced, bad service and bland meals!

We had dinner on a Thursday during our 3 night stay at Hotel Angeleno. The cocktails were perfect (I recommend the Basiltini). I had the duck entree and my husband had the Halibut. Great portions and wonderfully presented.

Tired after finishing up at a seminar presentation, I opted to try the hotel restaurant where I was staying, at the Hotel Angelino. What a pleasant surprise. I had been in the night before and thoroughly enjoyed a cheese board and a couple of ice cold local beers. My waitress suggested I return and sample the dinner menu. Unbelievable! The scallop appetizer was prepared as well as any I have ever had. Each bite brought a little something different yet special, and the scallops were cooked to perfection. The short rib main course can't be described. If you are a fan (as I am) just get it. Absolutely the best and most flavorful presentation I have enjoyed. Dessert.......no room, but I had to sample the ice creams, and the same quality continued (don't miss the chocolate salted caramel). A fantastic gastronomic experience. And did I mention the view! L.A. to the left and the Pacific to the right. This place should be packed. My server, Carlos Sanchez could not have been better or more attentive, and all for a reasonable price. YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST TRY THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!;

Great drinks, food and the staff was excellent! Views are amazing...we loved this place. The bartender made up a special martini for us and then shared the recipe.

On the top floor of Hotel Angeleno is West Restaurant and Lounge. I had the pleasure of dining at both just recently and have to say that the food and service were just great. I don't know that it's a place to dine instead of one of the great trendy LA eateries, but on a night when you're just tired or if you don't want to get back into a car, West really is a nice choice. Everything was prepared perfectly, and served while hot. All of the servers knew the menu and could discuss the daily specials as if it was their own recipes! Not a bargain, but fairly priced. If you're at or near the Angeleno I certainly would recommend you try West.

fantastic seating- a lot of space in between tables. food is decent and wine list isn't bad either. great views of LA. my new fave for a relaxing dinner

Stayed at the Angelino, and the room and staff were great. I'd made a dinner reservation and ordered a drink. While waiting for my food to be prepared, as can happen at times, a slippery glass slipped from my fingertips and spilled on our dinner the table. We used our napkins to soak it up, no harm no foul. The waitress warmly said: "I'll bring you another drink". I thought.. great. When she came back, the drink was about 1/3 filled from the level of the first drink, and was mostly ice. (Grey Goose on the rocks) I said.. "Excuse me", and looked at my drink. My waitress immediately said.. Well, since you didn't pay for the replacement drink, it's smaller". WOW. So.. I'm not entitled to a FULL drink replacement.. amazing. Needless to say, I smiled and was pretty damn miffed. Look.. I've been to sports bars that would gladly replace your spilled drink without such a classless move. Food arrived and was delicious. Then soon after, the manager came and asked how everything was. Now, I wasn't going to say anything about the drink, but since he asked... I told him I thought it was somewhat humiliating that my spilled drink was replaced with a 1/3 filled one. (right in front of my date mind you) and the manager said: "Oh, no problem.. let me get that for you" and he went off. I thought .. okay that's nice. he's trying to make amends for leaving a bad feeling in the mind of a customer. When he returned, he set the drink down and said and I quote:"Here's the other half of your drink", and walked off. WOW again... In a little while, the waitress asked several times if I'd like another drink and I politely declined. Dinner for two, one appetizer and one drink for each of us came up to over $133.00. Well.. If I'm going to pay premium prices for food and drinks, They damn well better learn how to be more sensitive to the customer's impressions. Penny pinching policies with tasteless and insensitive comments from the manager lead me to this conclusion: I will NEVER dine at their restaurant again.

The food was amazing and the view was great or at least better than my room view. They checked on us regularly and met our needs. The lady serving us was very friendly and congratulated us on our engagement with a little glass of champagne which made our night that much better 😄 the only downside is the pricy plates 😭 but it was overall amazing I would go again.

Had dinner at the lounge which is less formal than the restaurant but offers tasty dishes like fish and chips. Lit by candlelight, it is a good venue for a romantic evening out.

Just off the freeway where 405 crosses Sunset (in the old Holiday Inn tower), West is the restaurant at the top - with a great view, an absurdly cheap rush-hour happy hour, and an easy escape from the freeway. If you want to stay through dinner, be prepared to pay a bit (and be rewarded with excellent fare), but the real attraction is the happy hour. (CLARIFICATION: Prices are really low for happy hour, pretty high for the restaurant. I've sort of averaged these in rankings below.)

I appreciated the prompt service since I was on a tight schedule. Excellent salad. we have always had a good experience there.

We decided to go this restaurant because...1) We'd never been 2) It was very close to a friend we wanted to see who'd just returned from safari 3) Another friend was playing jazz there. It's at the very top of a hotel right next to the fwy in the west LA area. It is a NO TIPPING facility, which seemed quite lovely knowing the staff was being well compensated. The view at the top, so beautiful on a clear fall day...you could see to Catalina! We were told they were busy & trying to catch up, but I noticed when we walked in there were lots of empty tables. We ordered and it took almost 15 minutes for my husband to get a cup of coffee...odd. The food came, there were some mistakes...no one checked back, we had to flag people down, the food was quite tasty (no quite cooked as requested but good & ample). Again took forever to get refills on water, to get the food packaged to go, to get our bill, then to get the bill taken up for payment. When we got it back, the wrong receipts were there...and when we brought it to the attention of our server...no response. No I'm sorry, No Let me fix it...just a shrug. It made me really question whether this no tipping policy was worth it...AND the table next to us were experiencing the exact same dilemma. AND as I counted, there were only 4 tables of guests at this point. Beautiful place but needs some attention to their customer service.

It was my first time in this circular building, although I've driven past it numerous times on the 405 going in and out of the San Fernando Valley. I will definitely stop by the next time traffic is crawling and I want to be above the mess rather than in it. If you stop by during Happy Hour, they have nice bites and drinks with the view and a $7 parking fee. Since I was there in the afternoon, after the normal lunch hour, there weren't many people and I had a choice of seats with a view. I chose the ones with cushions a bit further away from the windows, but there were hotel guests who chose otherwise. I had a glass of Pinot Grigio as I waited for my friend, but as I got updates that the trek from the airport was going to take at least 90 minutes, I decided to order lunch. It's been awhile since I've had the classic salad Crab Louie, and I was happy to see the large portion of crab and vegetables arrive. For a hotel, this was a very correct dish, with real crab (canned), and local vegetables, including heirloom cherry tomatoes. The dressing was a green goddess instead of the traditional Louie, but it was tasty enough for me to use it all with some additional salt and pepper to perk it up. Lunch was fairly priced for a hotel with a view; with my wine and tax, my total was $38; this is a non tipping hotel, so everyone is paid a living wage by the hotel from the maids to the waiters and bartenders. By the time my friend finally arrived, it was time for Happy Hour and since I had only eaten a salad, I got the ceviche. It was a bargain for the ingredients and the unusual green chips made me think it was St Patrick's Day, but it could have used some tapatio or zesty spice.

Granted, it is hard to get excited about an old Holiday Inn - but the current owners have made the best of it. It is stylish, has valet parking, and when you arrive at the top floor, the view is spectacular! The wait staff was strong if not exceptional. The selection of wines was, to my taste, above average. The breakfast menu is simple and quick - and it is a lovely room - sit near a window, and you can see from the Getty to Santa Monica to downtown - and watch the planes from LAX taking off over the Pacific. Dinner was not exceptional, but it was serviceable. My companion and I both had seafood, and it was well-prepared and attractively served, if fully priced. If you're staying in the hotel, it is a fine choice. If your visiting for the restaurant, there are probably better places to eat, but it isn't disappointing, and the view is spectacular!

The restaurant is located on the 17th floor of Angeleno Hotel and offers breathtaking views of LA/Santa Monica. The ambiance is somewhat romantic and all tables have access to the great views provided by a wall of floor to ceiling windows. Waiting service is very professional and well trained. The menu, while offering a limited number of choices is sufficient for most tastes. I have visited West for dinner on a couple of occasions while staying at Angeleno and every time I was satisfied with both service and food. The presentations and food temperature of all items was perfect. The portion size was somewhat on a smaller side, but did not leave me hungry. The menu is rather pricey, but I think it is in line with the restaurants of similar class. Overall I would recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or if money is not an issue.

the selections were both basic and adventurous - and delicious. Professional service! We loved hanging out there as the sunset, watching the city below. We had a late evening, light meal and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was of very good quality - fresh, tasty, well prepared, and well presented.

Zach was a great server and a fun person to be around. Had great food and great time! Fish tacos and Carne Asasa tacos were wonderful 😋

My food was good but my wife did not like her steak with "sauce" on it. They did cook her another one, but it was overcooked and gristly/lots of fat. She took it to our room and ended up throwing it away. Our waiter tried his best to correct the situation but by that time we were tired and did not want to wait for a third steak.

loup de mer, vanilla infused scallops and lava cake - amazing! by far one of the best restaurants in town! i was in heaven :)

I loved the drinks and bar service... but if like me you are not a first class citizen with money to burn you will be made to feel rather unwelcome here. I wanted lounge food in the restaurant as frankly the restaurant menu had no "comfort or basic food" on it... once being told it was a one off event I could eat there.. I was angry i have paid just as much to stay here like everyone else... So I went on to order the one thing which was ok on the lounge menu I ordered a burger no salad and was looked at with disgust and like I had murdered someone how dare I order normal food and not lobster or calamari?? My question is if it was a celebrity or known public figure I would have not been treated like this. So from then on I ordered room service every night!! On the last night I thought id give the lounge one more shot. I ordered sliders.. I was not asked how they would like to be cooked they came out raw.. I returned them and once i was served new more cooked burgers.. medium/welldone they were still raw.. so I left my whole plate.. what a waste of $30. Stunning views, great drinks. Poor food, Poor choice, treated like a second class citizen looked down upon. wont be back

I mentioned West in my review of the Hotel Angeleno (please note that they spelled the word "Angeleno" correctly, as in, "a native of Los Angeles"; tourist brochures that spell it "Angelino" drive me nuts)... but here's a bit more detail. I met my dad here for lunch on a Friday. I arrived a little early and was afraid the place was closed: it seemed no one was there! But within about a minute a host appeared and invited me to choose a seat anywhere, he would return with a menu in a moment. By the time my dad joined me there, a few more guests had trickled in, and by noon West seemed half full. Hard to tell, as the seating areas are all near the knee-to-ceiling windows, and thus follow the curve of the circular building. There isn't a "bad" table in the place, as far as an amazing view is concerned! The West has a strong modernist vibe, tempered with organic touches, including the intrinsic curve of the entire building of course. The host did a good job of distributing diners in such a way that the buzz of conversation stayed muted and we never felt crowded: the sound-absorbing textures of the decor helped too. The lunch crowd felt animated and lively without ever becoming loud or intrusive. I'm sure this would be a great place to take my wife for a date night. I wish I had taken a photo of the menu to share here, and to remind me of the excellent food we tried... but this was more than a week ago, and the details are fuzzy now. But I was very impressed. Yum! The menu's offerings seemed creative & appealing, the food we ordered was plated beautifully and of excellent quality, and although the price seemed high (cocktails were $12 and up, I remember) unlike most pricy restaurants the portions were fairly generous too. I took half of my club sandwich back to the office with me and had it for lunch the next day! (still excellent!) Wish I could remember the soup we shared; we were tempted to order another one, but we would not have been able to finish the second one. It would be a crime to waste food this good. Service was great too, but not in a memorable sort of way. I'm only realizing now how good it was, because in the moment, I didn't really notice it happening. I think that's a particular philosophy of service: an attentively proactive and subtle approach, in which I never noticed my water being refilled because it was never allowed to run dry, that sort of thing. There was never a reason to look around for a server and ask for something, because needs were anticipated and quietly met with minimum fuss. I wonder how consistent that level of service is, here at West? I am not sure. I intend to find out! If I am badly disappointed I'll amend my review, but I am already convinced the quality of my first experience is not accidental!

Staying out away from the hustle of LA might limit the restaurant choices, but the West Restaurant is a great choice for eating and watching the setting sun. This is not a fast place to grab a quick bite, save that for the little store on the first floor. West is a place to linger, talk, view the world, and enjoy nice food.

The food is simple (in a very considered way) and tasty. The price might seem a little high but was generally considered (by my colleagues) to be excellent value. The drinks are sizeable.

I was lucky to be staying at the Hotel Angeleno so I had breakfast there every day and had dinner in both the bar and the restaurant. Sited on the 17th Floor of the hotel the view is fantastic although several morning the view was of dense mist. The Breakfast/Brunch menu is fantastic and although all the food was great but I have to make special mention of the Crunchy Almond French Toast with sliced strawberries and toasted coconut. The bar menu is more casual than the restaurant and it included small plates which I ordered and two is far more than enough for one person. The staff were really lovely and made my visit really special. The restaurant food was also wonderful although, as usual in the States, the portions are huge and I never learn!! The Scallop starter was absolutely gorgeous. This is a restaurant for everything from a intimate special occasion to lone dining. I would really recommend this restaurant as the food, staff and atmosphere are just fabulous!

Yummy drinks, lots to choose from, great food, friendly staff. Incredible views, romantic at sunset, swanky decor.

Great views. Nice bar. good service. Food was good. A little pricey but no tipping so was really fair price. Good choice of breakfasts

Bar/Restaurant with pretty views in the Angeleno Hotel (17th Floor). Came here on a Saturday night to catch up with a friend; it’s a good spot for a date night or one-on-one hangout. You can make reservations online. Valet parking online ($7 after validation at the restaurant). Credit cards are accepted. Bathrooms are available to the left of the elevators when you come out. Masks are currently required. No-tipping policy at the hotel. We had the option for the dinner menu or all-day menu, and the all-day menu is easier for sharing. The portions were larger than I expected, so we went home with leftovers. Food wise: - The carne asado nachos came with a generous portion of meat and nacho sauce (which I loved as it’s been a while since I’ve had some American-style cheese). - The Caesar salad was similarly large and also had a good amount of shaved Parmesan. You have the option to add meat for an extra cost. - The fried chicken sliders were not worth it. The chicken was really dry and bland, and the bread was not soft. - You can never go wrong with truffle fries. - Chocolate lava cake was more individual sized bud you can split it. I really liked the creamy ice cream that came on the side. If you’re on the West Side, it’s a lowkey spot for some nice views and nice service.

I stayed at the Hotel Angelino for 2 nights during a recent conference I had dinner at West which offers great views of Los Angeles. The food was good and I would have given the hotel 5 stars but the prices were high in relation to the food quality.

I've only tried the happy hour menu so can only attest to that but the fish tacos, buffalo chicken bites, and pulled pork sliders were absolutely fantastic and cheap! The restaurant itself is beautiful with fantastic views of .... LA traffic (seriously, you overlook the highway) but still, the views look pretty cool at night. The place is cozy and not too loud, and the service is fantastic. I'm absolutely a fan and would come back here again.

Good way to eat when staying here. Nothing too fancy. Very convenient to eat here before going out for the day or have a drink at the end of the day,

I've passed this building hundreds of times driving on the 405, and finally had the occasion to check it out. And believe me, watching the 405 parking lot with a cocktail in your hand, 17 stories up is a much better place to be than in it. Several of us went to see our friend and her band play on a Tuesday night. We had a great experience all around. Service was impeccable, dinner was delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect for a group of girls after work. Our server was incredibly accommodating, and allowed us to taste before we selected our wines throughout the night. It was greatly appreciated. Highly recommend taking a break from the 405, get off on Sunset and stop for the view, great music and dinner. Stop wondering what it looks like inside the circular building, and check it out yourself!

On our recent visit to Los Angeles, we stayed at the Hotel Angeleno and ate in the West Restaurant two times. Both times our meal was very good and our service was fantastic. Our first server was Vivienne and she was delightful - we enjoyed chatting with her. The second time our server was Carlos and he was equally pleasant. It's a nice restaurant with views of the city and convenient when staying at the hotel. Also noticed that the restaurant was used and enjoyed by locals as well.

Although I've lived within a few miles of this restaurant my whole life and have always wanted to try it out, I never actually made it there until last week (October, 2013). I should've gone sooner! The food was very good, the service was excellent (special recognition for excellence for Carlos), and the view is remarkable (probably one of the best, if not the best, in LA, largely because there are no other tall buildings nearby so the restaurant towers over everything around it, allowing for unobstructed views from Catalina Island to Downtown (with clear conditions!).

Diverse menu with several different options of dishes. The Lounge is more bar type food (Sliders etc.) while the restaurant is considerably more formal. Service is very good with staff friendly and attentive. Definitely worth a visit for the view, which is spectacular!

I enjoyed a delicious brunch at West on a Sunday. This restaurant is on the top floor of a hotel, but you don't need to be a guest there. I wasn't. The food was reasonably priced and delicious, There was live music. They validate the valet parking, so it's free to park. The view is worth going there. I would definitely return.

The view and ambiance of the restaurant/bar are great. Had drinks here in the evening - bartender was friendly and fun. Ate breakfast here as well and the server was prompt, attentive and friendly.

A great place to end an evening or for a nightcap. Views are spectacular on the left side of the bar. Service is hit or miss - have had both amazing and sub-par experiences. Closes too early with last call being around 11:30 PM.

The West is on the 17th floor of the Hotel Angeleno and the views are breathtaking! The food is terrific and we especially liked the lobster fritters and the full bar during Happy Hour. For breakfast, the coffee was hot and bold, the bacon, eggs and toast were made to perfection! Loved it!

go when its still light to enjoy some great views from this top floor bar/restaurant. they have a decent happy hour and also, provide very good food if you want to stay for dinner. but the key, is the view which vanishes when its dark.

there are not many places like this. I would probably return here even if not staying at the hotel. They are tip free and offer fairly cheap valet service if you are just a diner and not staying here, so not need to worry about finding parking. We did not use the restaurant, just the lounge so i cannot comment on the waitstaff. The bartender and cocktail waitress seemed a little overwhelmed even with a less than crowded lounge but were nice. food is fine but the gem is the view and relaxed feel of the place.

Great views of the city. Good to very good food. Helpful wait staff. Food overall was very good but not blow your socks off good. That came later in our 2 week road trip. They have a generous happy hour with much of their main menu available as well as a decent wine selection. First night we just had small plates, a bit of wine, and enjoyed the view.

The first thing you notice as you step off the elevator is the view, fantastic. and the menu. Creative, delicious, enticing. I would have like to try everything on the menu but I was there only 4 days!

This is our second time staying at Los Angelenos hotel, West Restaurant is changing their menu. Food is good, a little pricey but atmosphere is good. We made reservations through Open Table and at end of our meal waiter brought a delicious dessert as an early birthday celebration ( we had not mentioned anything about it being my Bday, so they must have gotten info from my Open Table profile) nice touch and totally unexpected.

First off, the views are fabulous. The food was good, but I was a bit disappointed with my main course--salmon with risotto--which I ordered without too much thought. The salmon was cooked in a novel manner: rare in the middle but seared to a crisp on top. That was tasty enough, but partnering it with a creamy risotto made the entire meal too rich. Fortunately, my wife had ordered a side of asparagus (cooked perfectly) which we shared. She just had the scallop appetizer, which she enjoyed. Service was good but a bit slow.

I stayed at the Hotel Angeleno for a few days and dined at the WEST Restaurant and Lounge approximately a half-dozen times. The view is great IF you can see. The sun can get pretty bright up there. Emilio is the alpha and the omega of what a waiter should be. He works on the top floor in the WEST Restaurant. The food is awesome and so is Emilio. I received a free meal on my birthday. I don't think I even had to mention it was my birthday. I had a meal one day and I don't really care for peppers of any kind. I didn't know the dish had peppers and Emilio felt badly that my experience this particular sit-down wasn't ideal, so he gave me some complimentary fruit... and I'm not talking the equivalent of a fruit cup. This was a big bowl of fresh fruit. He didn't have to do that. The day I left, I wanted to treat my friend, whom actually came through for me, to breakfast. I wasn't really hungry, so we split the French toast. The normal dish comes with two slices of bread. Emilio gave us an extra slice, so my friend and I had three halves instead of two each. Emilio may have been the only person I hugged out there that I didn't already know. haha. I miss him already. The dinner experience was subpar. My waiter seemed overwhelmed and I found the hostess to be none-too-helpful the night of I believe it was October 26th. I really just wanted dessert. As you can probably tell, I highly recommend breakfast. You can't go wrong with the eggs benedict (minus the crab cakes) and the French toast. The Yukon potatoes are also choice. The apple juice is great, but the water is hit-or-miss. Thank you, West and thank you, Hotel Angeleno!

Very few hotels have a restaurant that serves the quality of food served at West in a magnificent setting and at a high value. Everything was cooked and presented to perfection, and the quality of the service was spectacular. If you're staying at the Angeleno, do not miss this restaurant.

I love the vegetarian dishes at West. It's one of my favorite things about staying at the Angeleno Hotel. And if the food isn't amazing enough - the view is breathtaking! They do an excellent job at setting the lighting and mood of the restaurant with the time of day (bright and fresh for the morning, a more romantic soft lit feel in the evenings). Staff is very responsive!

We were in this restaurant for a luncheon catered event and for breakfast as we stayed at the hotel where it is located on the 17th floor. All the food was delicious, well presented and plentiful. The views of Los Angeles are wonderful and we highly recommend this restaurant.

We stopped in for brunch and it is was a great experience. The food was great, the view was great, and the service was excellent. It was a bit pricey, but that should be expected. Either way, it was worth it.

Stopped by after checking into thr Angeleno hotel for coffee and dessert. A little on the expensive side for us, but it was very good and service was very good too.

Dive into the seafood Mac & Cheese for a great comfort food treat. We followed it up with Mushroom & Spinach Ravioli, Salmon, & two split the Filet & Lobster. As we all shared in the feast, I liked the Seasoning on the lobster, and didn't want to share the ravioli. he Chocolate volcano was split three ways and enjoyed. The view with the lights going down is great. Try to get a window table, but even though ours was away, we could all see the city.

Gratuity-free restaurant. Great food and great views in the night or day. Nice vouch seating area by bar. Very good onion soup!

I had breakfast here every day and loved it. The service was fantastic and they dealt with my NY "I like it this way" requests. It was a lovely way to start the day.. I loved the pot of coffee left on the table. I also ordered room service from here a few times, mainly salads which were fabulous.

The view is great, the food was well prepared, but the restaurant is under-staffed and availability of menu items iffy.

I took by wife to the West at the Angeleno for drinks and appetizers in December 2012. The restaurant/lounge is located on the 17th floor of the hotel, at the corner of Sunset and the 405 freeway. The decor is very comfortable, modern, with dark woods, and areas were you can be alone to talk. The view is amazing, on a clear day you can see most of Los Angeles, all the way to the beach. We went for happy hour (4-7) in the evening and loved city the city lights. Our server was very friendly and professional. Happy hour drinks are about $7 per drink and were very good. We also ordered onion rings and hummus. The onion rings were very greasy, and the hummus was very salty. I would go here again for the view and drinks, but not the food. If staying in the Bel Air area and want to impress someone with a fantastic view and good drinks, this place would be perfect. Looking forward to several more evening here with my wife and friends. I would recommend this place to my family and friends for the view and drinks.

This is a must! They have a variety of very fresh and fantastic meals. It is pricey but absolutely worth the visit. I would go even if you aren't staying in the hotel. Yum!!!

view was very nice of freeway and west LA. drinks were decent. food snacks were tasty. service was good.

The food here is terrific; while I did find the wine list a little pricey by the bottle, it didn't stop me from ordering a terrific cabernet to go with my delicious food. Try the scallop appetizer; it's small, but worth it. If you want to share, well, don't--order two, or just savor the one you get (the waiter kindly brought us two plates). While I didn't need the calories, I was wooed by the chocolate lava cake dessert and enjoyed (half of) every bite. After dinner, we also had a seat at the bar, where the staff was attentive and friendly. Great view from up here, and I really was surprised not to see it more crowded (though maybe that was ok for a weeknight). I am not sure what you'd have to pay to park if you are not a guest at the hotel, but if you're in the area and want a quiet meal with great service and terrific view, this is a good choice.

Very comfortable restaurant with beautiful views. There is also a bar area as well. Food is real good. Waitors are professional and willing help you with any of your needs.

Staying at the Angelino is convenient for work in town but its just an ok place. And the restaurant at the top is just an ok breakfast place. The french toast was not eggy enough and the we couldn't get out bacon done as crispy as we wanted. It was early in the morning and the service people seemed out of sorts and disinterested. Still, very useful to have a restaurant there before a big day starts because this is not in a neighborhood with lots of choices that you can walk too. Still, I would say if you want to put out a little effort, you can go over to the Luxe hotel which is a few minutes away and they have a really super breakfast.

Nice romantic place, Amazing food and view, nice experience on the roof of angeleno hotel, i recomended for sure!!!!!!!

We enjoyed this restaurant for its happy hour where the food (fish tacos and pork sliders) was enjoyable and the view (freeway traffic and tony homes) very L.A.

The West Restaurant is located on the rooftop of Hotel Angeleno. We had breakfast there everyday during our stay. Food is good and not expensive. I would definitely recommend the American breakfast (get the potatoes well done) and the pancakes. You have a nice view of the hills. Service was really good.

Meal slightly over priced.....no tipping facility, so things cost a little more. I had the filet, which was good. Nice atmosphere, not noisey, great view on 17th floor

Enjoyed the quiet, romantic nature of this restaurant with stunning views of north L.A. Food was typical upscale, but nothing memorable unfortunately.

Thoroughly enjoyed the views, the bites and I decided to stay for dinner even. The prices were great for wine and other drinks and I loved the flatbreads, short rib sopes, sliders and the rest too:) At dinner I had an amazing salmon dish.

I went to the West for dinner with a party of four. The food was well reviewed and did not disappoint. Paella was a standout. Two issues that need attention. Service: The staff was friendly and helpful. But timing of the service for a restaurant of this price range needs a serious improvement. We had a long wait once at the table, bread arrived mid way into appetizers, and every course arrived with the previous plates still at our table. The restaurant did not seem especially busy as there were quite a few tables empty that we could see. Overall vibe: I'm not sure what crowd the restaurant is going for but it seems like they are trying to cast a wide net and see what sticks. The quality of the food and type of menu say foodie to me, but at around 9pm, loud dance music started from the other end of the floor (bar and dance area are all connected and open to each other). There were a lot of young people at that scene who may have even been prom age, and some business travelers, non of who were on the dance floor. I think a decision needs be made if they are going for fine dinning or club atmosphere, or the West will risk pleasing no one. Views are fun and a nice vantage point (watch people stuck on the 405 instead of being one of them!) but even with the empty tables, we weren't offered the window seat. Too bad but all in all, a good meal.

This rooftop restaurant serves excellent food with stunning views over Los Angeles, with very friendly staff

I rarely eat at Hotel's restaurant but this time I was too tired to go out and went for dinner ...and went back for breakfast! Definitely pricey but the food is delicious, well presented and nicely served! We tasted a mouthwatering duck breast cooked to perfection and an excellent lamb marinated in harissa. We shared a tiramisu that was perfect: not too sweet not too coffee-ish. Breakfast was also in line with the expectations! The view is spectacular, at night even the 405 highway has his charm.

Well the views of the Freeway from Bel Air all the way around to the ocean are great! The restaurant was not very busy for a Sunday brunch time, and there fore the service was rather lackluster. The food was good, but the staff forgot to bring a spoon, butter, etc which is all indicative of a restaurant that is not very busy. The Valet Parking staff and the restaurant seem like totally different entities. There is no "oneness" about the hotel/restaurant and valet staff. This place needs a management overhaul and it could be a special place. They have the location but not a lot more.

High atop The Hotel Angelenoon the 17th floor is the West Restaurant and Lounge. The hotel is "round" so the views from the restaurant are spectacular. Be sure to ask for a window table. Depending on your seating you can see the tall buildings of downtown LA to the east or the Pacific Ocean to the west. The food was very good but seemed a bit pricey to this old country boy. The service was great and the staff are friendly both at night an for breakfast. We thought the portions were adequate (no room for dessert) and presentations were nice . They try to use fresh local fruits and vegetables. The salads were huge and extremely fresh. Save room for your steak!

The fries = amazing. My burger = made just how I wanted it. Service = friendly and courteous. West sits on top of Hotel Angeleno, whose architecture is reminiscent of a lipstick tube. Definitely a destination restaurant: it's uniquely positioned just off of Sunset at 405, and once you've arrived, you've got to journey all the way to the top. A journey well worth it. I was here for a lunch meeting, and there's absolutely nothing I could complain about.

Once you deal with music that is too loud (sit at the end of the restaurant) enjoy a good but limited menu -- good wait staff; no tipping. Our dinners are quite good but not memorable.

Awesome menu! Great bar! Professional service! We loved hanging out there as the sunset, watching the city below.

Stayed at the hotel so restaurant was convenient. Circular restaurant and beautiful at nighttime with sweeping views of the city. Wonderful place to have a romantic date. Food was good. Waiter was extremely knowledgable about dishes and ingredients. Service was better for dinner and lunch versus breakfast.

$5 items are tasty and budget friendly. Also larger than some appetizers on the dinner menu! A great happy hour with a view to gather with friends.

Only had dinner and breakfast once each but the food was great with service to match and the views were awesome.

Hotel Angeleno has a wonderful restaurant and bar/lounge in the penthouse with great views of LA and the surrounding areas. Both the breakfast and dinner menus are spectacular. The food is delicious. The service is awesome. The staff are very polite and courteous. If you stay at the hotel, you have a great place to eat. If you live in LA, you have a great place to visit for a night on the town.

The food was vary good. The price was good. The view was great you can see the ocean and downtown Beverly Hills. I wish we would of had a chance to eat here for dinner to see the all the city lights from here. The West is on the 18th floor so you get to see a nice view while eating.

Food was really tasty, view is amazing and atmosphere is set for great dining and conversation. Just make sure you take the right person there to experience it. My first outing was a doozey!

Visited the West Restaurant and Lounge while waiting for our room at Hotel Angeleno. The breathtaking view from the restaurant, coupled with the awesome service we received, it definitely put me in a Californina frame of mind, (I'm from DC) The ommeletes were so delicious. Coupled with the mimosas, I was ready for a little shut eye, but the manager found out it was my sister's birthday and surprised us with dessert. Tiramisu!!!! I can't wait to return to the West!

Ever wondered about that hotel you see on the 405 near UCLA when you’re stalled in traffic? Well, top of it is a restaurant called West that is absolutely fantastic. Free valet parking as part of the bargain and an extraordinary view of Los Angeles, including the saps stuck on the freeway. But the real draw is the carefully crafted menu: it seems like the usual fare at a contemporary American restaurant, but everything is seasonal, fresh, exceptional. Nice wine list, too.
Excellent breakfast
The best coffee I've had in a long time, and excellent service (friendly but not intrusive) . The American breakfast was very good, plenty to eat, eggs cooked just right, very good potatoes. A little pricey which is why I didn't eat dinner there.
