Loved this place!!!!, Huge burgers, prepared to perfection. The only thing we will miss in San Antonio!!!

Walked over after late arrival to town and found the homeless bothering people on way and in restaurant. Didn’t see any of that last year. Onion rings were worth it but the rest waste of time and money. Walk back to hotel was fine no problems. I did feel safe at all times. Police riding bikes in area and driving around. I’ve been here two years in row once two females and once husband and myself. Always feel safe walking around at night.

We do not have Whataburger in our area. We did stop, it is good and a little bit different from McDonalds! Try it!

My wife and I were in San Antonio last week and we stopped by this Whataburger for a quick lunch. Our meals were very good and the staff was friendly and helpful. This particular location is clean and modern and it gets very busy at times with the downtown lunch crowd. If you're in the area and you're looking for a good burger then you may want to give the Whataburger a try.

Love whataburger food, especially the #4. Ate there 3 times while visiting San Antonio. I gave this review 3 rating because when got there Friday night (10/13/2018) a bit past 10 pm there was a line outside and a policeman holding the line to a customer in as one came out. This is totally ridiculous! Even more annoying was the policeman’s attitude acting like patrolling a nightclub line saying things like show me your ID and $20 cover charge. Also wouldn’t let my girlfriend go in to use the bathroom (said had to wait until our turn to enter the restaurant). Disgusted with the wait and attitude we left. I suggested if thinking about eating there on a Friday night or maybe even a weekend you might reconsider the worth of a Whataburger.

On my way to the Alamo and I happened to stumble into Whataburger. Friendly service and a tasty burger at a reasonable price! The place was constantly being cleaned. A very good first meal in San Antonio

I was here with my kids. We waited in line for about 15 minutes. When we got to the front the lady said it was a 45 minute wait to get the food. So we left. That’s not fast food. Also she was pretty rude but her job has to suck.

Don't usually stop at chain restaurants when traveling....but they do make a great burger! If your pressed for time or like fast food, then you'll like any of the restaurants. Burgers were HUGE!

Whataburger has given me a new definition of what a great burger should taste like. I had a burger with jalapeños, and it was the best burger I’ve ever eaten. To be honest, it was pure happiness wrapped in a yellow paper. Whataburger is the best burger on the planet!!

Double cheeseburger and fries with a drink just under $10. Made fresh, even at lunch rush pretty quick. This is a much bigger burger than the typical Wendy's or McDonald's. Good stuff!

I love whataburger and the food was on point but the atmosphere made me glad I took it to go. Overall I would definitely go back.

We had plans for a late dinner so wanted a quick snack and decided to grab Whataburger - glad we did. It was exactly as we remembered. I had the patty melt, crispy bread, excellent flavor and the boys got bacon burgers with jalapenos. It didn't disappoint.

I walked in with a group of people around 10pm and there was only one cashier. There were several people in line waiting to order. My friend asked for the manager. She asked him (David) to open another register. he stated there was no one available. I asked him to service his customers, he told me he could not do that. Whatever, Whataburger!

We came here twice. The burgers are good. The chicken sandwich my wife had blew her away it was so good. The fries are very good. And then there's the shakes - they're very good and massive - you have to have one - full size or not at all. Do it. I dare you. Oh, and when they deliver your freshly made food they come by with a tray of condiments and ask what you'd like. It's sort of quite cool that they do this. We got extra ketch-up on our second visit just so I could bring some home, it's so good.

I've eaten whataburger for years and it used to be good. Went to this location to pick up and go. The burger was cold and soggy the fries stone cold, despite the place being a bit busy. Walked back after a couple bites and the line out the door made me take one more coldmbjiteband threw it all away. Will be a while before I ate there again. PS, dirty restaurant. How can they rate so high?

Service was fast and efficient. Staff friendly. Facility exceptably clean. Food served warm. Very tasty. Eating area well lit and temperature comfortable.

Our entire group stopped and ate at Whataburger for the first time. We all loved it and would recommend this place for lunch or dinner anytime

It was as remembered............Yummy..every last bite of burger and onion rings! I was so tired coming from AZ to San Antonio in one day; on my way to the Marriott airport, I turned right into the lot where there was a drive thru and ordered. Service was fast, order taker very pleasant and the food; well, the food was excellent.

Food was good. We were told not to miss this place but I found it average. No complaints though. Would I go out of y way to go there? Not much

Grew up in Texas and a high point is always getting a whataburger when we go home for a visit. But I'd skip this location unless they make some MAJOR improvements. The staff were friendly, the customers ranged from tourists to local law enforcement. But the burger has been shrunk. The beef patty was 20 to 25% smaller than it was 2 years ago. It was also cold. So the cheese didn't melt. The bun was cold, stale and crumbly. The bacon (2 skinny strips) was limp. The fries were cold and soggy, undercooked. The coke and spicy ketchup were the only items that were at the standard for a whataburger. I was also turned off by the environment. There was a guy panhandling outside of the restaurant and while I sat there trying to choke down the cold, dry mess a guy (homeless/drug addict) walked in past the line of people ordering, took out a dirty cup and filled it with ice and soda and walked out drinking it from the rim of the cup. I immediately wondered how many other drug addicts filled their dirty cups in the soda fountain. I also wondered why a place as busy as this didn't have security? A real shame. I'm going to miss what whataburger once was.

I think What-a-Burger makes the best burgers of all the fast food chains. I will drive bast all the others to get some of this

Food very tasty. Service reasonably fast. Sweet tea yummy. A little dirty - tables not wiped off after customers left. Prices good.

We had heard about Whataburger for years and so, now that we were in San Antonio, it was time to try it. I had the regular burger, no cheese. It was good, not great. But the ketchup (both the regular and the spicy) were fabulous and that made the burger (and the fries). My daughter is a vegetarian and there were no options for her at all (fries for lunch).

Stopped by on a rainy afternoon for coffee. To our surprise was told coffee free for senior citizens. Much appreciated!

was a very good fast food restaurant in Tx. I enjoyed the grilled chicken combo. they give you a # and bring the food to you and then bring the condiments around for you to pick what you need. my son loves their honey butter chicken biscuit that are served for breakfast.will go there again when in TX

Having had dinner at a local restaurant, we asked our waiter for recommendations of other places to eat while we were in town. He raved about Whataburger so we decided to try it for a quick lunch. Seeing a long lineup to order, we decided to persevere thinking that it must be good if so many were willing to wait to order and eat. We got through the line in good time and our food was delivered promptly. What a disappointment. I ordered the regular burger and was shocked at the thin meat patty. The burger tasted exactly like on ordered at the "Golden Arches." Big let-down!!!! We had eaten at another place with burgers a couple of days prior and they were delicious. When in San Antonio there are better places to satisfy your burger yearning.

Came here for burgers after a performance at the Majestic Theater. I had heard people in the South rave about Whataburger, so wanted to give it a try. My companion and I agreed that the food was just pretty average, almost like McDonalds or Burger King, just larger burgers. Kind of a disappointment.

About all the things I've known in US, whataburger made it's best and marked me with a taste that I've never found at any other place. Even burger and french fries had a excelent flavor which I do recommend to everybody!

There is always a line at any Whataburger I see so I had to check it out. If you go after the lunch crowd there's no line. I grabbed the junior and it was perfect! Fries are salty but what fast food chain doesn't have salty fries?

Food was acceptable. We ate there remembering days gone by when we had this restaurant in our home town. There was only one staff member on duty up front at the register, also cleaning area & tables, when the line was clear. Our visit took us here 3 times.

Born in Corpus Christie, this chain is South Texas's answer to LA's In and Out, except better. The key to Wataburger, is look for the menu specials. I find the japaleno burger to be one of the best on the menu. Don't expect fine dining, but you will get a great lunch or dinner.

You have to love a place that will make you a cheese burger with avocado and the fixings but hold the onions and not bat an eyelash. They are also concious of food allergies and can assure a non-dairy product or non-peanut one too. Various locations around town but we like this one. Excellent service, spacious and very clean.

I've never been to a Whataburger and was surprised. Located on corner of Presa and Commerce. It sits on corner with wrap around windows for people watching . First it's a fast food burger place but my A-1 burger was hot off the grill. Great portion of fries and I also had onion rings. Staff friendly and place was clean with someone spraying down tables. I didn't use bathroom so no idea. They have a good spicy ketchup. One thing is they give you packets of Ketchup so no pumping a gallon. I would come again. A1 burger meal and an additional side of o rings was $10.86

It is fast food but wow! really good. And the people are SO polite and helpful. We were out of state visitors and had to try them. The food was good and hot and very yummy. The place was clean and like I said, they were very polite and helpful. Gotta try it!

Our grandkids love this place even more than any of the national chains and they are very picky. Hamburgers are very good and definitely a cut above the one served by the billions....

Always a great burger when I go to Texas! Service was fantastic as well - the gentlemen bringing condiments was awesome. Easily a great stop in downtown SA.

I only ate here because it was close to my hotel and I wanted a quick meal. Nothing special at all. The burger tasted just like any other fast food joint and the fries weren't fresh.

I’d never been to a whataburger before so we gave it a try. May sound strange but the bun was fresh enough that it tasted and smelled fresh which is a new experience considering it’s fast food. The burger is thin like most fast food spots but actually was good size and tasted good. I liked how they brought the food out to you and some of the history is proudly posted on the walls. Overall good experience particularly for a quick and inexpensive meal.

This place was one of my favorite places for breakfast in the early morning until this morning. The place was nasty dirty at 0645 and when I get my usual breakfast, I got a nasty surprise. Never again I will stop my foot inside. The place needs a lot of attention.

I did not eat the food, but I sat with my son who raves about the burger being the best he has had. It’s fast food.

I wasn't impressed with the burgers. Very thin, little flavor in the meat. Fries are not fresh cut. Had to try it based on daughter and son in law's recommendation. Once was enough for me.

They mostly sell burgers. The flavor is as the other restaurant. The time at the Drive Thru is a bit slowly.

Double cheeseburger and fries with a drink just under $10. Made fresh, even at lunch rush pretty quick. This is a much bigger burger than the typical Wendy's or McDonald's. Good stuff!

Loved the burgers and the staff so much we returned twice, once for lunch, and a quick bite for supper. The manager was working hard and when the store was not busy, the staff was cleaning. The burgers were so good and the onions rings were too die for! It was a treat on vacation. The food was hot and made to order.

We were told by our Uber driver that this was one of the highlights of San Antonio we should not miss. Was supposed to be "burger of all burgers" .. its not. I have had plenty of special burgers through the years and this was just another burger. johnny rockets has a better burger. With that said it was clean and pleasant. food was plentiful and arrived quickly. Service was very good.

Typical takeaway similar to Burger King, service was very good though and food was nice. Would return if I wanted something quick.

This was my first ever visit to a WhataBurger. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich which was pretty tasty. Service was quick. Good place for a quick bite to eat.

I'm from Socal where In and Out is the last word. I found this place to be just as good and is definitely just a matter of taste. Like the spicy ketchup

I found nothing special about Whataburger, I was told by some people that while I was in San Antonio we had to try Whataburger so we did and I'm not sure what the big deal was.

Visited around midnight after an evening out with friends. Service was prompt. Restaurant was well-lit and safe. Food was typical Whataburger: a nice burger and fries at a good price.

Whataburger in airport. It’s Whataburger. Love it miss it glad I hit it. Good burger. Good fries good spicy ketchup. So much better than in and. Well u know. Only drawback bit disorganized and busy but it’s in the airport so not unsurprising

Popped in to get breakfast for myself and pick up something for my wife back at the hotel and aside from the food, which was pretty terrific as I expect from a Whataburger breakfast, the place as great. Almost spotless and there were still two people and the manager cleaning windows and the sidewalk outside. The manager stopped by my table to make sure I was happy with my food and asked if he could do anything else. Everyone on staff was cheerful, friendly and busy. Maybe it's the jalapeno cheddar biscuit with egg and sausage clouding my memory, but this may be the cleanest, nicest fast food place I've ever been.

Coming from Chicago, I have a strong love of food. After hearing how amazing it is from numerous people, I had to try it. It is ahhmazing. There will be more of a wait than McDonalds or other fast food.

I didn't think whataburger is as good as In N Out but I still enjoyed my meal. The coffee shake was very good and the fries are top notch. Loved the spicy ketchup.

More expensive than Wendy's, cheaper than Five Guys. Since I'm from CT, I had never been to a Whataburger before, but I wasn't disappointed. The burgers were decent and the fries were great. Also the large drinks are huge! I got one and had to save half for the next day.

Great prices. We opted out of pricey hotel breakfast and walked a few blocked to Whataburger. Fast,, steaming hot, friendly personnel, great coffee. I highly recommend!

I can't be in Texas without a Whataburger! This location lived up to my expectations. The burger was perfect and the fries were fresh. The service was outstanding!

i had not seen one in years great to be able to find one again, very clean and the food was freshly cooked,Great

This place is filthy. Went in for a burger late night after being out late and was so disgusted. The line was backed out the door with one girl working and she was so slow is was ridiculous. The police presence in the restaurant and surrounding the building was somewhat reassuring but it was still very dirty and scary. The burgers were room temperature and the fries were cold.

We missed dinner and this was in walking distance to our hotel. It was really good! The place had a really busy late night crowd.

Had the Whataburger, my first time to a Whataburger and it was very good but it reminded me a lot of Sonic Drive In's. The taste was good but it was nothing extraordinary and the meal took a long time for a "burger". I would not go out of my way to get this again but worth the try and I would definitely eat at a Whataburger in the future but not out of the way to eat at one.

I usually don't eat "junk food" because i'm a man of sport, but today it was my cheat day, so i wanted to try WHATABURGER, in Italy we have only McDonald's and Burger King, so now that i'm living/working in the US why don't try something new? It was a big surprise, the burger was BIG and TASTY, a little too spicy (On the wall there was written mildly spiced...whatever) for my tongue, the onion rings were really good and the coke with free refill is awesome (in Italy refill doesn't exist). The cost is really cheap and if you want to eat good and spend few money this is the right place.

Ordered lunch in since we don’t have this chain in our town. It was good and fast. I had a chicken sandwich and it was good mins the last two bites weren’t fully cooked.

This was our first visit to a Whataburger and we were impressed! Was it the "best" burger and fries I have ever had? No, but it was delicious and fresh. Extra points for not being greasy. The real highlight was the customer service we received. Staff were extremely friendly and chatted with us during our stay. Would definitely recommend!

I visited San Antonio with relatives from Illinois. They loved this place and wanted to keep going back. Great quick inexpensive meal to share with people who have never been.

Went to Whataburger. They offer a huge variety of food. Burgers and fries are good as are the fish sandwiches. It’s good, but not as good as In N Out.

Easy access for a quick stop to refuel. Food is good for fast food. Service is quick an plenty of seating.

We have no Whataburgers in Colorado or Minnesota, so when I went to San Antonio it was one of my first stops. The dinner was great. The bacon cheese whataburger was good, fries were good. IT was all good. Breakfast was good too the next day. I cant get this where I am so I made sure to get a dinner and a breakfast on my trip. I think they could have done better with the hashbrowns. Cold, I felt a little cheated on the amount I was given too. Other then that, it was good to eat it again.

Went for lunch. Waited at least 10 minutes for meal during a slow period after 1 pm on a Thursday. Plenty of open tables. When food came I asked runner for a packet of Mayo. She said there was a charge. Really ?? Sounds like they are run on the cheap. All other fast food joints offer condiments for free. Not whataburger. Food taste typical of fast food. No big deal. Won't be back.

So we kept hearing about Whataburger and decided we had to try it. No idea what the fuss is about. Basically another McDonalds or Burger King but with a different name. Only good thing about it is that it is open around the clock and since we were there on business and didn't get back to the city until 9:30 at night, at least we could have something to eat. Pretty much all restaurants close at 10pm in the city, FYI. Over-rated and over-hyped in my opinion.

This particular location is key as many tourist from out of town get to enjoy a Hamburger restaurant that many San Antonio locals enjoy

My husband popped into this Whattaburger to buy a bunch of burgers for the homeless people we encountered on our walk to and from the convention center. The staff were cordial. We had extra burgers and we ate them when we returned to our hotel. I thought they were better than any McDonalds burger and is easily the size of a Whopper. Fast and decent food.

We stopped in for an iconic burger while in San Antonio. The food was nothing special, but I don't think we expected more than that from a fast food joint. I was surprised that we had to wait almost ten minutes to get our food, even at 2:30pm in the afternoon.

This was my first time at this location and I’m very impressed. As soon as I walked in I was greeted. The food was really good and didn’t take long to come out. I’ve never seen a Whataburger do such a good job as they do here. Im definitely going to recommend this place to anyone.

For being all over the place I was expecting a little better burger. I felt like mustard was the primary flavor of the burger I received and it took forever. The burger was pretty dry too, even for fast food. The fries were very good, however. Maybe I just needed a regular to advise me on my order as it was my first time eating at a Whataburger.

CRAZY Sat am breakfast rush! Only 1 register open! Lines extended length of restaurant. Cashier (mgr) stated staff on vacation. Clearly understaffed & OVERWHELMED with what I believe, unexpected spring break BOOM! Food quality a bit lacking but understandable under such circumstance. Felt bad 4 overextended staff!

Don't bother wasting your time or money at any other fast food burger joint. This is the best. California can keep their In and Out burgers!

This was our first experience with Whataburger. Two in our group had the bacon, BBQ burger and fries. It was really good. The food was hot and I like the fries, (they're without the potato skin) I wish we had one in our area.

Food is standard fast food burger joint. The star here (compared to Mcdonalds or burger king) is that they serve the food to your table and they offer a delicious spicy ketchup. Service was great and the food tasted good too.

The burgers were fine nothing special about them. The overall restaurant was fine in light of the heavy traffic that was passing by that evening. It’s a great people watching site.

Very unimpressed with this burger chain - look a little harder and trying one of the many, many better restaurants that line the Riverwalk.

Whataburger serves a big, tasty hamburger thta is sure to meet the expectations of anu burger aficionado. Burgers come with fries and a drink. Fast food, yes; but worth it.

Don't be deterred by the police officers standing out front! They are keeping the peace! This is our 2nd visit here after 2:30am in the morning. Expect a wait, there will be a line, but it moves quickly! Always good food after late night drinks, this and McD are open 24 hrs, but hands down Whataburger WINS our vote! For those of you that don't know this they have SPICY KETCHUP! Mmmmm

My teenage son was beyond excited to try his first Whataburger, which we don't have in our region. We were a little underwhelmed, maybe we expected something more than your typical fast food restaurant burgers but we didn't love them like we thought we would. Our meal wasn't bad and the service was fine, just not the Holy Grail of Fast food that we had been expecting as Midwesterners.

Although atop the river walk, this is definitely not a tourist place. Most of the crowd are downtown employees (lunch) with a mix of disabled thrown in. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is very pleasant including the cashier and guy that delivers the food. The manager circulated to ask how everything was. The burger was made right and provided a typical tasty whataburger burger and fries.

This location is big and can seat a lot of people. Went here for a late lunch around 2 on a Monday. The people behind the counter were a little distracted as I had to repeat myself a few times because they were speaking to each other, but they were otherwise polite and got the order correct and brought our food quickly. I have not been to a Whataburger in a decade, and I was pleasantly surprised. You get a gigantic hamburger and the toppings are fresh. They had a jalapeño burger that was wonderful.

We were excited to try a new restaurant, but was quickly disappointed. Burgers and fries were tasteless, and we ended up trashing it all. We were told later that this place is hit or miss, so depending on the day you visit you might get a good meal.

We know what to expect when we order here since we have eaten at Whataburger before. I recommend the hatch chilli burger. The place is well kept and clean.

There was a line. We waited. No where near worth the wait. Burgers were not good. French Fries were ok. Milkshakes were just mixes. Not remotely impressed. Definitely not as good as Fuddruckers or 5 Guys

Terrible experience... queued for ages! Waited for ages for my order .. finally stone cold burger delivered.. warm fries.. no napkins!! Worst burger experience ever.. sort your selves out .. !! No manager around to ask for refund!! Truly truly bad!

had a double with grilled onions. no wow factor. not that great. reminded me of a mc d's single but larger and doubled up. Will not return for another. I guess it a good late night grab is one has been drinking a bit but i would not go out of the way to get one of these burgers. Fries were just okay as well .

Great food and styrofoam cups are the only way to go. Better than overcrowded restaurants in the same area.

Just a typical location, but extremely busy late night and after the bars close as there is nothing else open down town.

First trip to Texas & first trip to a whataburger. This is a review of the whataburger located at 1118 Roosevelt Ave San Antonio, Tx. Sadly their location isn't on Trip advisor for me to submit. So hopefully someone at Whataburger will see this and give an acknowledgement to those who went so far above our expectations . We were tired and our GPS took us off our course. Tired and hungry we spotted the whataburger. Not a lot of cars in the parking lot but we decided that's where were going to eat. It's in a little neighborhood . We went inside and there was a group of young people placing their order so we had time to look over the menu. Davian greeted us and asked if this was our first visit to a whataburger. Of course we said yes . Davian then said I hope you'll let me help make this a memorable experience. He answered our questions, placed our order was pleasant and welcoming. Our food was ready and 2 other folks brought it to the table. Both focused on customer service , telling us a little about the area The lobby began to fill up with families coming in and having a meal. Well done whataburger. The food was good, hot & the service is what every retail organization should strive for. Come to Virginia !

My first time ever visiting this chain, but it was highly recommended by an acquaintance. While this chain is similar to most fast food burger joints, it does offer a slightly different menu including patty melts, jalapeno burgers and the like. The burgers are not mass produced, and they appear to be hand-shaped and cooked to order. The delivery model is different as well. You take a number, and when your burger is ready, they bring it to you. The attendant also brings a tray with condiments for your convenience. My burger was a bit messy as the bun fell apart as I was eating, but it was also tasty.

The burger is delicious, with very good taste and generous portion. The potatoes are crispy and tasty, just what you expect in a good combo. The soft drink is refilled and stands out for its quality: it is not reduced and retains the authentic flavor of the Coca-Cola of the United States. Note: if you like jalapeños, and want more, those portions are charged as extra. It's worth the experience.

We all enjoyed our wide variety of lunches. My sis & I had great salads. The burger people were happy, too. I liked the way they hired older workers to bring out the orders on a tray with condiments.

Typical Whataburger. Visited for luch for 2 days. Waslking distance from hotel. Impressed with fast service and employees. Very friendly.

Really cannot complain about this place! My first true Texas burger really packed a punch. Taste delicious. Right in the heart of downtown San Antonio TX.

Judging by the advertising Wahatburger does everywhere, we just had to try it... Not worth it at all... and bizarre concept altogether

Went to a drive-through at Whataburger they gave us the wrong order. Went back through the drive-through 30 minutes later because it takes 15 minutes to get home 15 minutes to get back. They gave us the correct order but eating the Patty melt it had weird crap on it, hot sauce allsorts of stuff. I don’t know if anyone spit on it or not. but it was not good. $20 later threw everything in the trash. Nasty, not good. Store 734 at 3130 Broadway in San Antonio. I lived in Texas all my life and I will never go to a Whataburger again.

There aren't very many Whataburgers in my home state (Missouri). I've heard of them and was eager to give it a shot. I was disappointed with an unremarkable burger on a tough bun along with mediocre fries. I eat too much fast food when travelling and I doubt I'll bother again with Whataburger. Made me miss my visits to Wisconsin and finding a Culver's!

There isn't a Whataburger within 1000 miles of where I live. After eating a double-meat burger here, I will be haunted by it's wonderful memory anytime I eat another fast food burger. None shall compare.

As soon as you enter, you are greeted by smiling employees. The food was delivered to my table by a smiling employee who wanted to get me anything I needed. After eating another employee asked to take my tray and asked again if I needed anything. Great hamburgers!

I have heard folks tell me how good the fast food chain of Whataburger is but having not had the experience was skeptical. It is fresh, hot and delicious with a variety of choices. This location was excellent as it was next to a parking garage right near Riverwalk, and was large, well lit, and comfortable with lots of windows.

The food was so-so, It was clean and service was fast.. We heard it was good but it just was not very good. The burger's were just flat tasteless patties.. The fries were not good to me but our daughter liked them. Just not a lot to say about our visit.

I wouldn't dare go in the bathroom here. Lots of transients but there was a Cop working off duty here most every night we went by and including when we ate here on our last night in town. The what a burger is kinda plain. I prefer Inn N Out in California or Dicks in Seattle.

Come hungry leave full and it won't break the bank. We were surprised what you get for the money. More food than any other fast food and cheaper.

Had not eaten at Whataburger for many years. And after this experience, I'll try to choose some other places first. It's not the worst burger, but far from the best.

If you were traveling in the state of Texas, you owe yourself at least one meal at a Whataburger. Burgers are good and it's just a touristy thing to do.

This restaurant is just outside Randolph Air Force Base and sees good patronage all 24 hours it is open. All Whataburgers have the same menu and the food is always top tier. I particularly enjoy the Monterey Melt .

We ate lunch there on a Saturday after a morning at the Briscoe Western Art Museum. The food and service were up to Whataburger standards. Handy location, situated on the corner of a parking garage on N Presa & Commerce.

Have been to these in other states this is right there with the rest never a bad experience food is great for burger place located in downtown San Antonio so many people wait was minimal bathrooms were clean within walking distances of hotels by the river walk was here late the dining area was for most part was clean

Never heard of the franchise so thought we should try it. It was okay. Had burgers, fries and chicken wrap. Lots of condiments available including Salsa Verde!

I always feel back home when I see a giant orange W. Great burgers and fast service, even during Fiesta.

Don't understand what is the hype of this place. Tough bun with burger flavored only consisting of mustard. Dirty and bad service.

Everyone told me to eat here. You have to try it. Great burgers. It was just ok, did not have anything special on it, fries weren’t that good. Just a fast food place to me. Decent priced.

Four of us went in for breakfast and ordered. went to get coffee, none. told staff, they brought out one carafe of coffee and poured it in urn, we got coffee then the old mans coffee club setting there went and drained it. Thus no coffee for refills!!!! Food came, one order was wrong, told staff who brought food, they would not reply to our saying incorrect order, simply stood there with the tray of condiments. Would do nothing. I was there on December 17th

This place is similar to In-n-out Burger. There is a lot more selection and the food is good for fast food. I recommend to try it out if you are from California and want a quick burger. Large variety of food to choose from.

We've traveled all over San Antonio. we have visited all the Must See places. We have seen all kinds of restaurants, but All we wanted was a hamburger. There not 2 blocks from the Hotel was WHATABURGER! It hit the spot. All the eateries in SA are not expensive. It was a refreshing pause.

Whataburger offers a great menu at reasonable prices. It is centrally located on E. Commerce Street, easily within walking distance of the major downtown hotels (Drury Plaza, Weston, Marriott). Their fries and well done (not greasy or limp). This is a popular location, so be prepared for an approximately 5 minute wait to place an order during rush times (lunch and dinner). The in-house service, however, is worth the wait. An attendant will bring your order and carries a tray of napkins, utensils, and condiments (their spicy ketchup is worth trying). The location is 24-hour.

My daughter said I had to try this place, although the sweet and spicy sandwich was pretty good I can't say it was the best burger I had. They were pretty busy and didn't really have any personalized service at all it was pretty much a cattle call. Not too impressed but all in all I can say I had eaten here.

This is a restaurant that I must eat at whenever I'm in town. The whataburger is huge reminds me of the size of the Burger King whopper from back in the day try it and see if it's worth the taste.

Nice, clean and helpful service. Picked up some food and a box of wine at CVS a block away. Who could ask for more?

We stopped for a burger because we were famished. Had been walking and looking for a place. A good old American burger sounded just right. Good service. Good food. Reasonable price

Not having been a whataburger customer, I thought that them bringing the burger to my table was a bit of a surprise. Also a surprise was the time that it took to do so. Otherwise, a nice experience.

We were told it served the best burgers in town but it was only average. Our burgers were really good but not knock your socks off...the fries were not real fresh but taste was good. Service was great and everyone was organized. Easy walk from the Riverwalk.

Smartest thing Whataburger has done was open this place downtown. It's convenient, inexpensive, and have Whataburger goodness.

Whataburger....not! My friend and I needed some food around. The good....GREAT service and it was open. The bad....the food. I would recommend unless you like soggy bread and bad tasting burgers.

known in the lower midwest for its special hamburgers, this Whataburger does not disappoint. think juicy hamburgers and excellent customer service.

If you want to eat a good Burger or a Grill Chicken breast sandwich. This is the place. Nothing fancy, nothing sophisticated but if you are between Mc Donald's or this place, I recommend Whataburger

Our group had out sightseeing & decided to stop in for something cool to drink & use the restroom. As food service people ourselves- it was very disconcerting to see the staff people taking money and then handing you a cup with their fingers inside the cup. Even when I politely asked for a different cup- the young man did it again. As another employee washed off tables she just wiped it off onto the seats but didn't wipe the seats. And the restroom was totally digusting. We had talked about eating there during our trip but changed our mind after that. Sorry- I think more sanitation training is needed there.

For a fast food burger joint, this place is excellent. The burgers were huge with lots of toppings including coarse chopped onions. Very good. And when was the last time a fast food joint took your order and then you sat down and they brought it to you with condiments?? And when you were done, they cleared everything too. This is no crappy McDonalds or Burger King. When in Texas and looking for a quick, GOOD burger, give this place a try.

We were so excited to be back in Texas and get a Whataburgers, and we stoped in, they were not to busy and we ordered 2 Whataburgers, 1 large fry, and a soda. The burger was greasy, the fries were cold and it was horrible. Service was friendly. The tables were dirty as well as the area where you get drinks. We were bummed.

To start, NEVER was i asked to pay for condiments at any point and i visited this location on 5 separate occasions while i was in SA Sept 8th through the 14th 2018. I went 4 times for the Breakfast Fajita Taco (amazingly delicious) and once to pick up burgers for dinner. Every meal was delicious, the staff was super friendly and it came out in what i felt like was a descent time. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this particular Whataburger while staying in SA.

The restaurant was very crowded, howeverwe didn’t wait long and our order was correct when delivered to our table. Food wasn’t anything different from your typical fast food but the Dr. Pepper shake was great.

Best fast food burger ever. The beef was tender and tasty and the seasoning just right. Can't wait to go back.

Whataburger is hands down the best fast food burger in San Antonio. Always fresh. Good fries. Great burgers. Try it with jalapeños. Yum!

We totally loved our first Whataburger so to find one so close to our hotel and in the area we were touring was perfect. This one seemed to also have a bit of a pull to those just needing to find refugee from the cold as well but we were not bothered by them and enjoyed our meal.

Phil here again, me and the Misses had to enjoy Whataburger on the Riverwalk. This is a nice clean restaurant just up the steps from the Riverwalk. The service was excellent, the cashier was very friendly, and the food was good. If you're looking for a quick and inexpensive alternative on the Riverwalk, swing by and enjoy.

First time trying this burger chain out and was not impressed. This was the location close to the Riverwalk. The burger was lukewarm with the cheese hardly melted. The fries were gross.

I have been wanting to try a whataburger, and was finally able to check this off of my bucket list. Very good fast food, a better burger than most places. If you are in the area this is a must visit.

As we traveled around Texas, we kept seeing these restaurants so we decided to give it a try. Kinda a cross between a Burger King and a Culvers. You order typically fast food burgers, which seem bigger than traditional fast food burgers, and then they bring it our to you with all the fixing you might want. Overall very good service, food and price.

Certainly up to Whataburger standards, very busy, but very efficient. I needed 25 gift cards, and they took it in stride with no issues, while they were busy

It was a big hamburger but that is just about it. I wasn't overly impressed, but that is just my opinion and everyone should try it once.

The problem is they cook the ground beef before you order. Now this gives you fast service, but it's not the same as it being cooked after you order. Not my cup of tea!

the people standing around look scary thank god the police were standing out . the food was great but they fried the tortillas 2 hard.

I grew up with Whataburger but have lived outside the chain's geographical reach for many years. I excitedly drug my husband there more as a 'trip down memory lane' but we were both delighted with our huge, delicious burgers! We were also impressed with their spicy ketchup.

This was one of the coolest Whataburgers I've ever been to. THe food was hot and fresh and the staff were nice and helpful.

Due to issues with our flight, we arrived at our Riverwalk hotel around 1am without having had dinner. We were starving and the front desk clerk suggested the Whataburger, which is a very short walk from the Riverwalk. At 1:30am, the place was jumping, and we enjoyed the usual Whataburger quality of burgers and fries. Be aware that there are a lot of panhandlers on the streets in this area during the wee morning hours, though we felt perfectly safe walking there at that time.

This location is within easy walking distance of the River Walk and the center of downtown. It was my first time at Whatburger and I wish they had them in my area. There are many options for burger toppings and even a chorizo burger. Drink sizes were very large. I had a basic cheeseburger and it was delicious. Lettuce was crispy, which was surprising for fast food. Fries were thin and crispy. They bring the burgers to your table, along with the napkins and condiments. Prices were reasonable.

Well this was our first experience with Whataburger and OMG was it delicious! My kids ranging from 21-12 all loved it. We need one here in south florida asap!

Fast food chain but sooooo much better than a McDonalds!!!!! Burgers were HUGE and so delicious!!!! You order and they give you a number and your cup. Grab your drink and find a seat. The food is brought out to you by a friendly staff member. They even have a tray to offer you napkins and condiments. It was clean! Loved it!!!

I'd been hearing about Whataburger forever and was finally able to experience this Texas mainstay. Service was fast and accurate, cooked to perfection and really hit the spoy

My first Whataburger experience. Even though nobody was in line in front of me, staff were milling around cleaning tables and delivering orders to customers' tables. I appreciate things may be busy but an acknowledgement that I was there from staff would have been good. I mentioned this to the manager who took my order and he apologised profusely. As most of us already know real service can only be gauged how businesses manage service recovery situations and the manager did well. He took about a third off my bill. I chose to east in the restaurant. Food is delivered to your table. It is certainly totally fresh and the food tastes good. Quality ingredients are used. When leaving, there is absolutely no expectation for you to remove any of the trash from your own table to the bin provided but I personally cannot just leave it and go. Most people do not have this issue thankfully though which keeps the staff in a job! All-in-all I would definitely recommend Whataburger when compared with some other perhaps more mainstream burger restaurants.

Best burgers of any chain. Forget about the rest if there's a Whataburger in the area. Fast service and easy carryout.

Placed orders for four, received three after a long wait. After discussion we received the fourth order other three were finished eating before fourth arrived.

I have been to Whatburger locations in numerous locations in Texas and Oklahoma, but this was my first to the location in downtown San Antonio. The place was very clean, and the food we ordered arrived quickly. The server with the condiments was very nice. The only issue I had was that my burger was a little dry. Other than that it was as good as I expected.

Late arrival in town so walked on over. I had the patty melt burger and it was very good for a hungry appetite. Typical side fairs of fries and pop. Service was a bit slow and the later the night the more interesting the crowd.

Ate several times at this location. Whataburger is your usual fast food but the nice thing is once you order, you can set down and they bring your food to you. This place is very clean, the wait staff are quick to clean up and pick up your trash and even refill your drinks for you. Rest rooms are clean and this location is easy to get to. Just a short walk from most of the River walk Hotels and the Riverwalk itself. If you are just wanting a old fashion burger, the place to go.

Okay, being in Texas you have to try Whataburger just if it's to compare it with In and Out Burger. The service was pretty solid and the place was pretty clean. I suggest sitting by the window to people watch.

This was a nice and clean burger place. They had a good variety of burgers and it is a nice change from McDonalds when you are having a busy day touring.

If you're in the mood for a good hamburger, go to Whataburger. It is not expensive and what you see on the menu for how you want your burger is just a little hint of what you can have. You can add 2 different cheeses, choriso, more than one patty etc. Hard to beat.

Staff were super helpful, but burgers were run of the mill (Burger King Style). Not sure why I hoped for more....
Busy spot
Busy spot near the riverwalk. If a cop is at the front door of place, you can imagine how shady the spot can be. It was very busy when we got in. It took them an eternity to get our orders ready. I had to ask twice to make sure that they are aware of the unfulfilled order.
