Great spot for a different kind of sweet treat

By Keith B |

Been reading about this place for a while and it's been on my list of places to try. Finally got there today for dessert after my daughter's 20th birthday dinner. We ordered the raspberry/chocolate/coconut dessert crepe, but subbed out strawberries instead of the raspberries. We also ordered the lemon curd/strawberry crepe as the three of us could not agree on one crepe to share. The lemon/strawberry was served with fresh lemon curd, fresh sliced strawberries, strawberry coulis and whipped cream with fresh mint on top. The lemon curd was tart (very tart) and sweet and the fresh mint paired beautifully with the strawberry. The strawberry/chocolate crepe was served with shredded fresh coconut and an awesome vanilla ice cream topped with toasted coconut. Hardly a drop was left on either plate when we were finished. They were not busy, but there was steady stream of customers in and out while we were there. The crepes are fresh made to order and service was running about 10 minutes when we were there. Service was very good, everyone there was friendly and seemed eager to help. Overall, very good experience and we will be going back as soon as we can.

Very nice crepe restaurant with an every changing eclectic menu.

Innovative selection of crepes with new selections at every visit. The owner follows-up with the patrons to ensure a satisfactory experience. The food is good, reasonably priced, and the staff is friendly and accommodating.

What a find! Perfect crepes and great coffee

By mkenneth |

We were looking for a location near an upcoming business meeting for breakfast and stumbled on this place. After a little difficulty finding it in the apartment complex we were delighted to find a wide crepe selection both sweet and savory. We were both delighted with our choices: ham and Gruyere and a smoked salmon. The buckwheat crepes were perfect - crispy outside and light and airy. In addition to the crepes being of a wide selection, the coffee was excellent with a great crema. This is a definite add in to our rotation.

A hidden treasure

By Ray C |

Go off hours or be prepared to wait as there's one chef- the owner preparing one crepe at a time. We went for a light dinner & ordered the buckwheat salmon crepe that came with salmon, salmon roe & pesto. My wife inhaled hers while 20 minutes later I was fighting to swallow the last bite. A few glasses of wine later we decided on a desert crepe & modified The cookies & cream by holding the cookies and adding every other topping known to man. It did not disappoint! The only drawback to this establishment is its size. Few tables and one cook means you may have a wait for something to open at popular times. You can almost eat here from the change in your pocket so it may be worth the wait!

Incredible crepes!

By Shannon M |

This little crepe cafe is wonderful! The crepes are made right in front of you, and there are lots of options for both savory and sweet crepes, as well as build your own if you want a particular combo. We went at an off hour and did not have to wait at all. This was our first time here and already can't wait to go back. Excellent, friendly service. Definitely recommended!

A little taste of France!

By Nina |

These crepes were delicious and the restaurant itself was very quaint. I ordered both a savory crepe and a sweet crepe and it reminded me of all the crepes I had when I lived in France. I will definitely be coming back!

Gluten-Free Crepes!!!!!

By AABerry |

My daughter had the normal crepes with eggs, bell peppers, spinach, and cheddar bechamel and really enjoyed it, particularly the delicious béchamel sauce. I had the buckwheat crepes with eggs, mozzarella, mushrooms, and pesto. I don't think I would mix pesto with the buckwheat again, but I am SO happy to find gluten-free crepes I am not going to be overly critical based on my failure to pair it with the perfect complimentary sauce. I do think the buckwheat crepes would be better with the sweet ingredients rather than savory though. My only complaint is that since there was only one person actually cooking, it took a while to get our crepes.

Great and authentic flavors, a trip back memory lane. Try the Paris Texas Crepe, perfect mix between France and Texas.

Great Light Breakfast

By Maria J |

This is a great place for a light breakfast. There are both sweet and non-sweet options of crepes. You can even build your own crepe. The coffee is nicely strong and served in a small glass. Even our coffee-drinking companion who drinks his coffee black added a little of the real cream to his cup. Especially recommend the smoked turkey and mushroom crepe. Order at the counter and then seat yourself. Place is small and fills up quickly. You can watch them make the crepes while you wait.

French crepes in Dallas!

By Jennipool |

This little place is everything you want to taste in crepes. They have a “build your own” style or some tried and true combinations. Wow! My chicken pesto buckwheat crepe was perfectly crisp and our strawberry, lemon curd sweet crepe with real whipped creams was good to the last bite! They also have a wide selection of espresso beverages. So glad we found this gem!

Crepes done right!

By Priscilla T |

My husband and I came to Dallas from SF Bay to visit some friends in town, and they recommended this place for breakfast. It is located in a pretty chic strip mall with plenty of parking. Menu includes both savory and dessert crepes, with drinks and some sides. Their mimosas are only $5! You can also get a glass of Chandon for just $10, which is quite a good deal. My husband ordered a shakshuka crepe while I got the smoked salmon crepe. The shakshuka one has beautiful harissa flavors. Both crepes were adorned with perfectly cooked fresh eggs, the buckwheat crepe skin was nutty and crispy at the edges. The only downside was that my crepe was more on the salty side, and there was very little smoked salmon in it.

Yummy

By Sharon H |

Wanted something different for late brunch on a Saturday on the way to a museum. Boy, did we come across something wonderful. We had crepes, coffee and Mimosa. The menu is limited to crepes so be ready!!! I had a "make your own" with creamed spinach, mushrooms and gruyere with typical crepe but my hubby had one with prosciutto, figs with gruyere on buckwheat crepe. Both were so good but the one with figs was so unusually good. Mimosa was good and coffee is French in style. A real treat for those looking for an authentic French experience. The restaurant is small with no frills but service was adequate with ordering at counter and then brought to table. This was a wonderful, yummy adventure.

Just OK

Pros: Novel breakfast/lunch Something fun Good selection Fresh, made to order Cons: Cramped space Limited seating Food was average Slow cooking process A little pricey

A much need creperie in Dallas!

By jdpDallas_TX |

Enjoyable place to get a nicely made crepe. Small dining area inside and two small tables outside. Savory and sweet crepes. Good choice for a casual, light weekend brunch. I will be going back!

Unexpected Surprise

By kseim |

We went on a late Saturday morning and found this small cafe to be overcrowded. I was tempted to leave but was glad we didn't. We both went with savory crepes even though I normally prefer sweet. I hate to say it was the best ever in a review...but I can't remember eating a better crepe. It was hipster. I needed an expanded drink menu but that was a small price to pay for a delicious breakfast. We spent $30 for 2 people.

Definitely Worth The Visit

By Aleesha |

Residing in Shreveport, LA leaves little variety and opportunity to eat a variety of food. When traveling to Dallas, I wanted something different. I decided to try Whisk Crepes Cafe. I am glad I did. The Crepes were light and delicious with a variety of sweet or savory. There are few options to choose from like Cookies and Cream to Smoked Salmon. The cafe is cute with a nice vibe. The owner and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The sound of French music in the background, a delicious meal and a satisfied appetite was worth the visit.

Crepes for all!

By Bruce T |

The service and food are great. The monte cristo and La Complete buckwheat savory crepes are delicious. The buckwheat flower is flown in from France.

Classy & Delicious

By Geo H |

Enjoyed my lunch chicken crepe & apple cinammon dessert crepe so much, I bought some to take home to the bride. Chef was helpful on telling me what travels well for a few hours, till dinner time. Reasonable price, and every morsel is scrumptious!

Very chill breakfast Cafe!

By Lauren P |

This place has a very cozy atmosphere. The crepes come in savory or sweet varieties and you can see the cooks making the crepes. Everything I've tried here is absolutely delicious😍 can't wait to come back and try more!

Disappointing...

By iva207 |

We had a reservation at the Whisk to enjoy French crepes... The service was really bad, our table wasn't clean, the waiters were not very friendly and barely talked to us. Nobody offered us drinks when we sat. Crepes were heavy and not tasty. I wouldn't recommend this place to discover French specialties.

Best crepes I've found in Dallas!

By gep2 |

After having lived almost nine years in Paris, France... one thing that one misses after returning to Texas are real, authentic, Parisian-style crepes. So I was intrigued to hear of a place here that would satisfy that longing. BINGO! Here, at last, is a wonderful crepe place, run by a wonderful guy who grew up and lived in Paris until moving to Dallas a few years ago! They have a wide variety of offerings, including both savory and sweet types. You can choose the type of base crepe, if you have dietary restrictions. It's not inexpensive, but if you are seeking out a great French-style crepe, it's a whole lot cheaper than flying to Paris to get one!! :-) As for table service... we ordered at the counter and then sat down at a table (it's a small place!), but they did have menus at the tables, so perhaps we could have ordered from there too.

Unique and delicious

By Catherine |

What an awesome addition to the Dallas dining scene! The crepes are made to order with quality, fresh ingredients. Not many tables and parking can be tight, and no restroom inside. All of those inconveniences and still totally worth it!

Delightful Crepes!

By CBArnold |

Whisk offers the best sweet and savory crepes in Dallas. We recommend the buckwheat batter for the full French experience. You must have a sweet crepe for a finisher!

Best Ive ever had

By brownard |

Amazing place. Julien chef is amazing. You have to get try the smoked brisket crepes. I will be here again.

Staff is unsafe, definitely do not recommend

By Daniel K |

Food was okay, but when it got later the staff were extremely questionable. My friend got uncomfortable and we left immediately.

Crepes to die for

By Vivian H |

Buckwheat crepes were just the right thing for Breakfast. A lot more than we could eat. We also had the Sweet strawberry crepe. Will be our go to breakfast from now on.

Tasty buckwheat crepes for breakfast

By scott46 |

The crepes are all done to order and the kitchen is very small (in sight from all the tables). So, depending on how many patrons are there, food service can be slow. But the breakfast buckwheat crepes were very tasty. We'd go back for the sweet crepes too. The coffee was good too.

Fantastic, authentic French crepes

By Catherine |

If you love everything or anything French this is the place to go. It was actually better than some of the crepes I have had in France. We will be going back, a lot. Price is right. Only drawback is the bathroom, one stall for each gender for the entire building. Needs to be unisex and more of them.

Wonderful breakfast crepes!

By lin959 |

All 4 of us enjoyed these fresh and tasty crepes...creative and healthy...then we had the dessert crepe. WOW.

I have eaten here well over 30 times.

By Dustin D |

Since they have opened, I would estimate that I have eaten here a little over 30 different times. Where else in Dallas can you get an authentic French crepe from a real French person? Whisk is the answer. The owner works at the store a lot, he can be found in the kitchen making your crepe. They have savory and sweet crepes. They have crepe combos you can order off the menu, or you can build your own. I recommend the peanut butter and Nutella with strawberry sauce. They also have coffee and various types of wines and sparkling wines. Besides the food, the ambiance and atmosphere are perfect. I absolutely love this place and everything about it.

Excellent place for perfect French crepes

By Skruggs |

This small place is the result of native Parisian Julien Eelsen's passion for the food of his home city. Both savory and sweet crepes are made here and a variety of very inexpensive French wines are also available to pair with them. These are among the best crepes you'll find in Dallas.

Feels like France but nicer!

By Robyn G |

The owner is very friendly and helpful. The savory crepes are all gluten free. They make them with buckwheat. It was hard to choose which one to get! I had the BBQ and it was absolutely delicious. They get their BBQ from Smoke across the street. Parking was not problem. You place your order and they bring your dish to the table. No numbers. They remember you and your order. Great service. Clean place! This is a small place so sometimes I bet you have to wait a bit but totally worth it! Please support our local crepe restaurant! I can't wait to go back.

Like Being In New York City :)

By ghancock77 |

We love the crepes when we visit NYC. Finding this place has been a great experience. My wife had the brisket crepe and just raved about it. The sweep crepes are out of sight as well... Great place...

Surprised

By Diane L |

Looking for something different! While walking around came across a crepe place. Excellent sweet crêpes and you have the option of building your own. The portions are large .

Awesome and Unique Breakfast or Any Time!

By Stacey S |

Visited with a friend and dined European style. Expect to wait a bit for service and just enjoy sipping on the water. We could not decide between savory and sweet so went halves with a choose your own toppings; bacon, cheese, and spinach. Then finished off with a sweet crepe dolloped with whip cream and tart lemon curd and drizzled in raspberry sauce. Not as sweet as the traditional American fare you would find at IHOP but definitely a grade above in my book. Over all a very yummy breakfast experience!

National Crepes Day

By KrisHundt |

I went for the sweet crepe, Nutella to be exact. I'm looking forward to a savory one but it will have to wait till my next visit. It's a cute little space, the owner is charming and helps do it all from what I can see as well as being very attentive. There is nothing particularly fancy about this place, including the food. But it has a charm that makes me want to just hang out for a while.

One of a Kind

By Sofia U |

This was so incredible. They have both sweet and savory crepes. I had sweet crepes with fresh strawberries and Nutella. The crepe itself was perfect. So light and fluffy, and it tasted incredible. The place was small, but nice.

Fun to watch them make the crepes

By Teresa R |

Arrived just as they opened so we waited a bit while they set up. Ordered a savory and a sweet so we could have a "balanced" meal. Perfect for sharing. These things are big! Nothing fancy but good food.

Amazing... Simply Amazing

By Houston I |

Get here early; this is a really small restaurant with a small kitchen... This place will fill up fast. The crepes are phenomenal; perfectly textured and not over-filled. If you order a savory crepe, it will come with the traditionally French, buckwheat batter (although you can order a savory crepe with white flour batter, you probably shouldn't). While sweet crepes are made using a white flour batter. My wife and I split a savory and a sweet crepe. The savory crepe had beautifully smoked brisket, fresh jalapenos, onions, and cheese (I'm unsure of the variety... it was very subtle), and a barbecue cream sauce. Our sweet crepe was a simple strawberry and banana crepe that was just fantastic (even though the strawberries were not quite at their ripest). The service was great and the prices for our meals were more than reasonable. Would we go back? Absolutely! We just need to remember to get there early!

Different and Delicious

By Dale P |

I came here at lunch with family. Whisk is a small space that feels very urban. While it centers around crepes, there is a wide variety of available dishes. Our lunch was filling and delicious. We left feeling satisfied. Ee both felt like we had traveled to another city somewhere. I highly recommend this place.

Crepes... Be careful how & what you order!

By Carol L |

This was our first experience at Whisk Crepes Cafe. We are in our 70's. We have traveled so we had high expectations of trying this little cafe for crepes. We arrived Tuesday for brunch around 10:30-11:00 am. They were not very busy. We ordered 1 savory & one sweet crepe to share. The savory was a big disappointment!! The crepe was fried hard, like cracker consistency...dry & crumbly with no flavor! It was also served lukewarm. The sweet crepe was a little better. However, we like our crepes soft & tender, not soggy... where you can still taste the uncooked flour! This place & staff need improvement, plus there are no bathrooms!! This restaurant needs better quality food control & better communication from staff. We would rate this crepe cafe 1-2 stars. We also noted no current reviews since 2020 ?

Delicious Crepes

By ENFerguson |

I went to Whisk Crepes to celebrate my friend's birthday. It was my first time eating there and I loved everything about it. The restaurant offered buckwheat (gluten-free) and wheat crepes. I had a savory buckwheat crepe and it was amazing. There are plenty of options no matter what your dietary restrictions may be. The cafe is also BYOB so feel free to bring a bottle of wine or champagne to go with your meal.

Yummy

Nice little place, French music playing in the background, Gallettes authentic taste & flavours. - some interesting Texan spin offs on the menu but definitely going back. Highly recommended.
