Everything a stunning "Mistress" should be.

By Tricia D |

From the way she treats her guests, the music she plays, the food she serves from her kitchen and the man that owns her heart, Billy Allen has created the "Perfect Mistress". Whiskey Mistress, like her owner, draws people to share in the excitement and beauty of a perfect night of great music, or a Sunday brunch on the patio. I have truly enjoyed my each and every experience. I take clients there to wine and dine them, the customer service and food all that I would expect from one of the best kitchens in Buckhead...an area that boasts some of the best kitchens in this part of the country. It is a sophisticated hangout in an area known for its dive bars and saloons and a much needed escape from the ho-hum options that have gotten old. I have been welcomed with open arms and the owner knows most of his guests by name..Great energy, awesome staff, and a winner in my book. Trissy D.

LOVE this place!!!

By Lisa B |

You are greeted by the friendliest bartender, Jeff Lee....who will remember your name all night long and introduce to other bar patrons. We ordered a couple appetizers, which were good along with great drinks. Music Man, Johnny, before the band comes on is fun and entertaining. The Friday night band that played when we were there was awesome! Dancing to 70's 80's music!!!

Nice evening out

By SoloTouristB |

I went with a few friends on a Thursday evening. There was a very nice mixed crowd. The music was good, a selection of R&B & older popular hip hop songs. Also, there was a live band that would sing renditions in between the music. They have hookah if you like that and I believe there were some cigar smokers but they went outside. I only went on the main level as you walk in so I didn't get to see the entire establishment but I will be back.

Whisky Mistress is one of the best places in Atlanta to go for great music, great, friendly atmosphere, great drinks, and terrific service. Billy Allen, Owner, is by far the gracious host that makes everyone feel like they are guests in his own home. I highly recommend this place. I love going there and look forward to returning.

Bad Service Excuses Excuses Excuses

By Maria L |

I don't know where to start, Prosciutto wrapped shrimp was on the menu, but when ordered we were told they wouldn't be ready until 2hrs - excuse our kitchen didn't prep for that. The drink cocktails were small and weak. Our party was moved downstairs to the newly designed basement, not a big deal so we thought. The basement was cold, low music and did not have enough chairs to accommodate our dinner party. We were told we would get more heat and more chairs; never happened. When the food finally arrived, everyone did not get their complete order. We had to ask for silverware and napkins, then water and then lemons --geez. The last person to receive their order was more than an hour later. The waiter asked did she want to cancel order, but asked never to comp the meal. Others just decided to cancel any remaining items. The waitress was confused with dinner receipt - didn't know who ordered what. The cash out process was extremely too long we waited over 30 min to get credit cards back. One person went to go get their credit card and was scolded for entering another area. One waitress told the owner we had gotten smart with her, the owner confronted the birthday person and stood over us as if were going to be taken to the principle office. To later find out he had the wrong group.

Best Night Spot in Buckhead

Fantastic experience! Great service from the door, to the bar, to the valet parkers!! Great drinks served by the best bartenders in Atlanta....Jeff and Frank are icons in Buckhead. The food and live entertainment was excellent as well. This place is awesome!!

Awesome time

By Karmaray |

This Sunday was as perfect as you could dream it. The weather was amazing and the music was concert perfection. Last but not least the food and the service was 5 star.

Good spot for music

By CaliLeo |

Went here on a Thursday night and enjoyed some drinks, good food and good music. The vibe was spot on, a more professional crowd with a mixture of old school and current R&B songs being played. The service was great, find Jeff he will take care of you. There are three floors with the top and bottom levels being more like small chill rooms. Seating is a bit limited so reserving a table is recommended. The tempura shrimp and loaded skins were delish!!!!! The only downer was limited bathrooms.

Ridiculous

By Alan J |

So, after being at Tiffany's at Phipps Plaza, the lady recommended this place. Arriving with friends, some hack at the door advised us that the gentlemen had to have jackets on. Let me clarify as to how we were dressed. Myself, very nice, expensive jeans, $150 roar shirt, and a $7,000 Rolex on my wrist... Women classically dressed also.. We were rudely advised at the door, we didn't make the cut... Huh? People coming out with jeans and sweatshirts, some even going in after my party similarly dressed... Oh well suppose my money is not good enough there. Fine, plenty of places are!! Enjoy your short tenure in Atlanta!!!

Not a whiskey bar

By Blake E |

My first ever negative review. Don't come here thinking you're going to drink decent whiskey. The worst whiskey in my house is better than the best whiskey here. Not to mention they have 5 options (angels envy, gentleman jack, and 3 other poor options).

Packed

By Lil_msbeautiful |

I was here on a Thursday night with friends and we had a blast! After 11pm it was packed with people on all 3 floors. I suggest arriving early. There was a live band who was really good and the DJ was spinning good songs.

Terrible Customer Service!

By Stephanie H |

My husband and I, along with 6 friends, visited Whisky Mistress a few weeks ago and immediately fell in love. They had only been open about 4 weeks and were clearly still working out some kinks and we didn't have a problem with that. Today, I have a problem. My husband called to reserve an area for us and 10 other friends this weekend for my birthday. He was asked by the owners wife, who we were, if we were cool and if we wanted to pay for the table. Excuse me? I'm bringing 12 people to your place of business to eat so, so food and pay for overpriced drinks and you need to review your notes on who we are.....I will gladly take my large party to the private club we belong to right down the street.

Do not be fooled

By Desirae B |

I went with a couple of my girl friends and noticed that at the door the younger girls in front of us were simply only asked their birthdays not for ID's or a cover. However my friends and I were asked for birthdays and a cover charge of $10 each. We let it slide and went in. We sat at the bar but bar staff was paying no mind to us and seemed overly engaged in conversation with other guest rather than interested in greeting new ones. One of the servers noticed that we had been there for a while so she got one of the bar tenders attention I believe his name was Dan and he then told her " I can see them there don't tell me how to do my job worry about yourself" she seemed discouraged apologized to us and assured us he or one of the other two bar tenders would be right with us. Needless to say we did not feel very welcomed and we left after only having one drink each. The same server whom attempted to help us with the bar staff noticed us leaving and never caught her name but know she was tall with shorter brown hair said "bye ladies I hope y'all have a great rest of your night. Sorry to see you leaving so soon " she even offered to get us a table if we would like! And though see seemed nice after paying at the door and one drink being $12 as well as being brushed off by bar staff we were ready to call it a night. I don't how they got these positive reviews but from the experience I had I do know my friends and I will not be back.

Fun Night Out

By BallDawg |

My wife and I took advantage of a kid-less night. We wanted to go somewhere we had not been and remembered seeing Whisky Mistress in some publication. The piano bar/singer was funny and very entertaining. The bartenders Jeff and Danny were awesome and would probably be the reason we'd go back. The food was more like apps, but good. The drinks are overpriced. Tried the upstairs and downstairs bars, but not the mood we wanted. Overall, it was a cool place we go again. The house band was not bad, but not memorable either.

disgusting

By Angela P |

Please never go to this nasty place, no bathrooms for 150 people inside and a cover charge if you are not in the MAJORITY race there for sure , and a cover charge at 9:15 pm on my birthday , really? This place used to be nice and upscale 3 yrs ago, wow so shocking it has gone down to the ground, doubt it will survive much longer. Same ole 60 s music with a washed up hooker crowd. WE left within 10 min. even paying the cover fees , rather not even drink here, it was that dumpy, save ur money and go anywhere in Buckhead area but this dump.

Great, packed, we had fun!

By LindaS99212 |

I’m visiting Atlanta for the weekend with my friend. We wanted to check out the nightlife. I looked online at a couple of places, and I found this one. It was great- it’s a multilevel establishment and every floor was packed. I was surprised that it was so full on a Thursday night. The drinks were good and the vibe was nice. My friend and I had a great time. I only gave it 4 stars cause I don’t smoke (they offer hookah) and I had little elbow room to dance. But I’d rather go to a packed place than an empty one. When I’m back in town, I’ll come here again.

Terrible service - rude manager

By Donna M |

We were looking for a hip place to eat and listen to some live entertainment and headed to Whiskey Mistress at the recommendation of a friend. We were seated in a small room after being told we could have the table until the later party arrived. The waitress took our drink orders, which was three glasses of rose wine and a Tito's on the rocks. When she returned she said they didn't have rose but instead brought a bottle of Moët. We were never offered a drink menu and never told the price of the champagne. It wasn't what we ordered but since it was a birthday celebration we agreed that it was ok. After having very average food, the check arrived. Needless to say, it was quite a shock. The champagne was $225! I am a champagne drinker and fully expected to pay $100-125 for the bottle, but not $225. When we questioned the fact that they never informed us of the price of a bottle we didn't order, the manager was extremely rude and condescending. Said she was going to "pull the tapes" and get back to us. After waiting for another 15 minutes she never returned. Definitely ruined the evening. I definitely feel like a place that serves $15 entrees should inform you their bottle prices. But worse than that was the attitude of the manager. She was the worst! Will never go back and will never recommend it to anyone.

Let's Get the Party Started!!!

By MrFino |

A great club for mature folks who want to party to old school music. The DJ was excellent playing hits from the 80s, 90s and 00's. The drinks were reasonable $12, atmosphere was very chill, we danced from opening until closing, never done that and I'm 52. Highly recommend.

Live music!!!

By 327911 |

One of few places in Buckhead for live music. And,the band is great. Been there a couple times and that place gets packed. The property has 3 floors and a couple patios. The back patio is a must see with the Atlanta skyline in the background it makes for some great pictures. The food is good, just a little pricey. There's a couple knooks for private parties but there's a cost. The decor very nice and the employees all terrific. The proprietor is very accommodating. We all enjoyed ourselves and will be going back very soon. A must see when in Buckhead. There is a dress code which is fair. Call if unsure how to dress. You will surely have a nice time.

Sexy Elegance right in the heart of Buckhead!

By htsolcorp |

WM is not your typical run of the mill Buckhead restaurant/lounge, the variety of small bites to choose from are simply amazing. Definitely, a favorite is the Mac & Cheese/Bacon Balls and the grilled Shrimp wrapped in Prosciutto with the tangy/sweet with kick sauce -- it will have you ordering a second plate. The various rooms create a sexy elegance perfect for a girls or guys night out, or a perfect date spot. Stop downstairs and visit the craft drink mixologist tucked away at the corner bar and allow him to create a mouth watering libation fit for a King or Queen. Well this past Friday we held a Professional MBA school celebratory night out and both Susanna and Billy pulled out all the stops for us, which is usual for them it's all about ensuring they are providing you with an experience that is second to none. With advance notice for a special event the Chef can create a special menu and perform magic in the kitchen for all your guest to enjoy. We topped off the evening listening to an incredible pianist/singer who took requests. For the guys we went out on the patio and enjoyed cigars and single malt scotch--a little heaven on earth... All in all, a perfect evening. Kudos to the Whisky Mistress staff, owners, chef, and entertainers Thank you for a wonderful evening and ensuring that we all enjoyed a perfect event. See you soon!

Fun times at Whisky Mistress

By WandaL5 |

Bring your friends or your date and have an enjoyable time at Whisky Mistress. I love the different rooms throughout out this bar. If you are a Marilyn Monroe fan u have to check it out. It's a total oldies/mobster theme decor. Great music and the young brunette waitress ( I will get her name next time) makes the best drinks.

Don't beieve the hype

By Sarah C |

We showed up before 10pm and were told its $10/per person. I looked at my group of 6 and said no way. This isn't a huge club I was shocked. Bouncer cut us a deal to $5/per person. We were promptly greeted at the bar upon entering. There are stools around the bar and very few tables - most that we reserved. Small dance area and a band. Lower level - private party...upper level - private party. So we felt stuck with no where to go. Even after the parties left it was never announced that the roof was open or other areas. Finally we get a table after a hostess/cocktail server noticed us holding up the wall. The band that was playing had a good variety of tunes. Not worth it - so many other places to visit.

Worst Birthday Experience Ever

By Delta H |

Worst experience ever!!!! Never to return...I frequent many bars in Buckhead and this place certainly does not live up to the high standards of Buckhead meets Atlanta. The band is the best thing going, but the service is the absolute worst. Shame on you Mr. Billy Allen for being in the restaurant and bar business in the city for over 16 years. You really missed the "bar" with this one. And...Why is Ameritis, only 19 years old and inexperienced, working as a waitress serving alcohol to patrons when she is only a minor? The legalities here are in question too. I'll give this establishment about another 6 weeks before their retirement doors shut for good. No need to waste your time. It will be a memorable experience that is less than stellar by far.

A Warm Old Fashioned Bar With Style

By michael p |

This place just opened a few weeks ago and I think it will do well once it finds its crowd. When you walk into this multi level bar, restaurant, lounge, speakeasy you step back into the 50's and 60's. With several levels and many rooms you are surrounded with leather and mahogony and pictures that make you believe the Rat Pack is just around the corner. We ate small plate food like meatballs marinar, roasted black bean hummis and deep fried mac & cheese and they were all tasty. There are Hirshfield cartoons all oveer the place and photos that take you back. My favorite room was the one dedicated to Marilyn Monroe. I think the words Retro and Elegance and easily be applied. Everyone was warm, friendly and very welcoming. I can't wait to come back and try their late night breakfast. The fact that they have intimate live music add to the overall charm. Worth checking out if only for a well mixed cocktail.

Unprofessional, Inflates Prices & Discriminates towards African American people

By chopes07 |

Based on the website you are suppose to contact Suzanne to reserve tables. Suzanne took weeks to respond and then she responded back via text. She asked me questions on what I do for a living....Really??? We were told we could have the table on the main level. When we arrived we were placed in the basement. THEY PURPOSELY PUT BLACK PEOPLE IN THE BASEMENT OR UPSTAIRS. The food is horrible and they inflate the prices based on who you are. DONT SUPPORT WHISKET MISTRESS.

Hidden Gem in the Heart of Buckhead

By josephbV9319RH |

Great spot off the beat and path of Buckhead. Great live music, super tasty food and some of the best bartenders in Atlanta. Really enjoy being able to grab a bite late night serving until 2 am. Highly recommend checking it out!

Always a good time

By Lil_msbeautiful |

I've visited here twice on a Thursday and Friday. Two very different nights. Thursday is more of a party scene with the live band covering old school r&b and Friday night less of the party vibe and more relaxed with other types of music. Food and drinks are ok but this is one of my go to spots in ATL.

Excellent Spot For Drinks and Conversation

By ddmullis |

Located off the beaten path in Buckhead this bar offers a great change of pace. They have a nice patio with excellent outdoor seating where you can enjoy the nice weather and have great business conversations. The drinks are made to perfection and the staff is top notch As an added bonus they have a live band which does a great job.

Really fun night at Whiskey Mistress

By COZ79 |

Old style speakeasy environment. Urban Legends band best I have ever heard, service is superb. Excellent selection of small plates. Billy, owner, is there nightly. He has lots of stories and is a lot of fun!!! He has been in the business in Atlanta for many years. A first class evening. Will definetly go often in the future. One of very best new places and you will not find a better band anywhere!

Right on!

Great late evening here with friends. From the live music to the friendly service and excellent quality of our drinks and food - this place is right on!

Horrible Service...Rude Staff

By socialiteAtl |

They were improperly staffed and did nothing to accommodate for their poor planning. They then put an inexperienced waitress in charge of multiple large parties and between her and the owner wife who lacked class messed up payment tickets by overcharging, charging wrong cards, mixing up the two different party ticket, and the list goes on. If you want to bad service and rude staff then that's only way will enjoy.

Horrible customer service!!!

By Camper25253 |

Whisky Mistress was a huge disappointment. The establishment is a complete failure at customer service. Giving it one star is actually very generous. I heard about its popularity and went with a group, to celebrate a friend's birthday, over the preferred Rose Bar. We sat at one of the reserved tables and placed our orders. After receiving our drinks, our once seemingly conscientious waitress disappeared. After an hour had passed, we wanted to close out our tabs and move to the downstairs area. We looked for our waitress but could not find her (and neither could her fellow employee). Finally, after waiting an additional half hour, I saw her and requested everyone's checks. She seemed to kindly comply; but, then proceeded to do other tasks without bringing the closed tabs. Two friends then approached her about the checks again. Somehow, she took offense to being asked a second time. She snidely addressed one member of our party, to which my friend responded by challenging her inappropriate behavior. Afterwards, the waitress finally brought our checks. Since 18% gratuity was already included, she received her full tip despite her lackluster service and inappropriate behavior. We paid the bills and put the situation behind us. Understandably, we were well within our rights to report our waitress to management. However, we chose to let the incident go in the interest of our friend's birthday celebration. As we finally made it to the downstairs area of the lounge, we saw the waitress again. It was then that were stopped by her manager and a security guard. The manager proceeded to tell us that "our evening was over". She informed us that we were being escorted out by security because we had been rude to her waitress. It was unbelievable and appalling. As manager of the establishment, she never asked us what transpired with her employee. Observing no altercation, she decided her waitress had been insulted and we needed to leave. Ironically, this was AFTER the waitress was rude to a member of our party; and, yet, we still paid our tabs without fuss or complaint. We quietly left the lounge with the guard. Outside of the venue, I approached management, who was repeatedly dismissive, to express my dismay over their lack of professionalism and customer service. The bottom line...all the good drinks, live music and entertainment at this place is lost by its total lack of character. A business, like Whisky Mistress, only remains relevant and thrives in a competitive market by balancing loyalty to its employees with excellent customer service. Based on its horrible service, this place WILL NOT survive in an industry filled with lounges far superior in quality and service. And, the nail in its coffin cannot come soon enough. It will be good riddance when it finally flops.

Hottest Buckhead Hang

By Deborah B |

Whisky Mistress has such wonderful energy. Great staff, yummy food, delicious drinks, awesome music, not overpriced, and a mix of rooms for every one. They made our event super special with balloons, VIP seating, champagne and so much more. Have already been back several times!!! Love this place.

Saturday night

Great place to sit outside, have a really nice bite of food and listen to a wonderful live pianist as the sun goes down.

Fantastic Night Spot

By prudnick |

Whiskey Mistress is an exciting, high-energy night club right in Buckhead with attractive, interesting people and world-class live music. From the moment you walk in, until the moment you leave, there is southern charm and hospitality, making each guest feel like the owner and his team are happy you are there. I don't know of another night spot that has the same electricity. I highly recommend this experience!

Nice place for a date

By Pouya-Khodadadi |

I came here a few weeks back on a date. It has a casual feel to it with a great food selection and service. Everything was to the point and we both had a great time. Will be definitely returning here in the near future.

Excellent After Dinner Spot For Adult Beverages

By ddmullis |

If you are seeking that off the beaten path, eclectic wine bar look no further. This is an outstanding old house that has been transitioned to a neat bar. Complete with live music and full outdoor patio that overlooks Buckhead. It's now my go to spot when I have business guests in town. Excellent service and reasonable prices as well

Found It By Accident - Definitely Will Return!

By RCHallSr |

This venue is less restaurant and more nightclub / lounge / special event venue. TripAdvisor may want to re-classify it so that families don't get confused. I was in Atlanta with friends for our annual golf trip. We went to our usual Friday spot, and were looking for a new place for Saturday. One of our group lives in Atlanta and his wife was here with 'the Girls'. After checking out a couple of spots, we decided to drop in. We should have started here and saved a couple of hours! Easy location in Buckhead, affordable Valet service, decent cover charge. The band was playing when we arrived; the crowd was really into a good time. After the band stopped, the DJ kept things moving well. Dance floor was never empty. Bar service is prompt and very professional. Floor wait staff are equally professional and friendly. Drinks are good quantity; decent prices. NOTE - if you go dance, leave your drink with someone. Unattended drinks can be mistaken for 'left' drinks; the bus staff strive to keep the tables clean. I'll try the food next time. -RCH Sr-

Great House Band, Excellent Venu

By Valerie W |

I visited this establishment with a friend and was pleasantly surprised. From arrival at valet, all staff were friendly and professional. I loved the layout and decor of the establishment. There are 3 floors each with a bar. The main level has the house band and the basement had music as well. The upper level was more ideal for Lounge and conversion as it didn't have music. We were seated at a table near the stage, which was perfect because my date and I danced the entire night. I had lemon drops for drinks which were made just right. We had an order of hot wings which were the best I've had in a really long time. The band were excellent. The music ranged from 80s rock to The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, John Mayer, Stevie Wonder, etc. The establishment was very clean and well kept. I'm looking forward to another fun night at this establishment real soon.

Find Everything You are Looking For at Whisky Mistress

By kim p |

The soft friend's and family opening of #WhiskyMistress was a huge success tonight, wowing all that attended this at capacity event. Billy Allen and Jim Klauber's new Buckhead evening destination venue will fill a long-vacant void for those seeking high quality food and spectacular music in Atlanta. From the moment I stepped into the place I was seriously taken aback with the quality of the live performers filling the air with spectacular sounds. And hearing others saying what I was thinking, "Is that really a live performer?" was commonplace all around me. Seriously people, when was the last time you hit a club, if you could find one, with live music, just to hang, not to see a famous musician, and were blown away by the talent...in Atlanta? Those of us who were lucky enough to experience Beluga in it's prime may say it was the last time we were there. The seasoned bar staff was cranking and managed tending in the new environment like champs, at both the substantial ground floor and intimate second floor bars. So comforting for many of us to see our old friends from Beluga back on this team! Both bars are staffed by some of Atlanta's finest and best of the best. Downstairs boasts a long, beautiful, delicious beverage counter, not to be upstaged by the upstairs, intimate-friends destination bar, so clearly reminiscent of the long-ago, back bar at Beluga, this girl was misty when she first viewed it. One of the most impressive feats of the night that need serious mention was the performance and quality coming out of the kitchen. Aaron Anderson deserves a gold star for tonight's performance. We've all been to new venues and really, I for one, assume the kitchen will most likely struggle in the heat of the first run events. Not so at WM tonight. All who attended were treated to ordering 1 item off of an abbreviated menu. We took a seat midway through the event, and all seats were full at that point, so the kitchen was in full swing. We were served in the exact amount of time expected from a seasoned kitchen and what we were served was spectacular: Applewood Smoked Bacon Mac & Cheese Fritters Pulled Pork Carnitas Tacos Farm Fresh Deviled Eggs (chef's daily creation) were among our choices. I am on the no carb kick so I ordered the deviled eggs and this very tough critic was blown away by the stand out, unique flavor that I could only guess was driven by hickory smoked egg yolks (I'm guessing about how they were prepared). I also grabbed a fork full of the generously stacked, high pile of lean pork and veggie tacos and they were delicious and fresh and light. The Mac and Cheese Fritters were being devoured by my friends and the sounds of appreciation for the taste gave me all the info I needed to give them a two thumbs up, too. I heard from others who had sampled the Pancetta Meatballs Marinara and the Roasted Garlic Black Bean Hummus that were similarly impressed with not only the flavors, but the timeliness, the generous size and beauty of the presentation of the items they had been served. This place is a home run. They have taken what was best about their long running, best of the best destination bar from years past, and one-upped it with a 3-story venue that answers all that was missing at the original Beluga. More square footage, a true stage and dance floor, outdoor balconies, and an accomplished-chef-driven kitchen. But way beyond that, by providing all this combined with the spectacular live music performers they gave us back in the day at Beluga, they fill a void missing on the Atlanta night-life scene and take the definition of Night Club in Atlanta, up a notch.

Thursday night

By Craig H |

I went to this place for the 1st time for a birthday party for a friend. Nice atmosphere, even nicer set up. It's a quaint little spot, nice for some drinks and to listen to some good music. Thursday is their busiest night, with either a d.j. or the band Gritz and Jelly Butter. This will be a good place to wind down after traffic, good for happy hour or to even watch a game without all the noise of a sports bar.

Looked good online

By Ross M |

Looked better online. Very cramped and oddly configured. There an upstairs bar but not very appealing. Main floor loud and difficult to see band on tiny stage

Great after dinner spot

By Maynard A |

This new bulkhead spot is the place to be. With wonderful adult libations being served, you won't be disappointed. Our server made my wife an amaretto sour and made it the original way; beating an egg into it. Our mixologist just made us drinks without them being on the menu. It was a fun evening I would highly recommend it.
