Was wanting Nashville Hot Chicken after seeing it advertised on tv. My wife suggested Whistle Britches for lunch. We arrived at 1:15 on a Sunday and had a 30 minute wait. We had the pimento cheese dip as a appetizer. The seasoned crackers paired well with the dip. We had the chicken tenders Nashville Hot. The tenders were tender and crispy. I was disappointed with the sauce. It seemed like it had been dipped in wing sauce. Not what I was expecting for hot chicken. The Bloody Marys were good. But the fried chicken on top was a little greasy. Not sure if it was worth $60 for lunch.

Fried chicken is the base item here. Everything is bigger in Texas, and chicken breasts and tenders are no exception. The deviled eggs had a great presentation far beyond the backyard picnic. I chose a side of mac and cheese that was excellent. I misunderstood when ordering that the coleslaw was on the sandwich, and not a side item. I easily picked it off, but some may not like it, either. I usually can finish large portions, but I left some behind on my visit. While tasty, my mac and cheese was just not needed. With a group, I suggest creating a plan of attack before ordering so you can share sides, or even entrees, if needed. The portions are just too large. Overall, the pricing was a little high, but the portions make up it. The staff was generally fine. I always appreciate when my drink is kept full.

I've been to the other location and it was amazing. This Frankford location is closer so we chose it for a birthday dinner. It was odd to walk in and there was nobody in the restaurant and a few staff standing around. That is not at all how the other location is. We were seated in the air conditioned outside but it was FREEZING cold so we asked to move. So, our visit started out a little off. Honestly, the whole dinner was off. It made us wonder if there was new management. The service was meh and food was fine. Our appetizers (deviled eggs and the pimento cheese) were delicious. I ordered fried green tomato BLT and it was fine but needed more seasoning on the green tomatoes. It all kind of tasted like mush though a great idea for a sandwich. I think at any other restaurant it would have been a normal dinner experience but because Whistle Britches usually has such stellar service and food, it just fell short.

This was my first visit to Whistle Britches. I did not realize it was a chicken restaurant, but that was a pleasant surprise. This is not your ordinary grilled and fried chicken shack. They have a very good selection of a number of interesting chicken dishes. I tried the buffalo Chicken Sandwich with a side of Mac and Cheese. Now this sandwich is not for those that want a light delicate meal. The piece of chicken was really large, but extremely succulent. It had plenty of spicy buffalo sauce with blue cheese to complement the taste. It was a very messy sandwich to eat, but it was so good I ate every bite and licked my fingers as well! The waitress was so sweet she actually brought me some wipes because she knew how messy it was. The Mac and cheese was very good with a panko bread crumb light crust backed on it. The rest of the menu looked attractive with chicken and waffles and other interesting chicken dishes. I think the portions are healthy here. Very simple décor, nothing fancy. This restaurant location used to be a sonic, but you would never know that. Prices were reasonable. I will be back to try some other dishes!

I saw Whistle Britches on Diners drive Ins and Dives so when I was in Dallas for business I figured I would stop in. I had the Aunt Luann sandwich and garlic fries. They were all good the chicken breast was huge and the fires abundant I could not finish them. There is a big drink menu and full bar along with the quirky restaurant. Good food good service I will stop back with some of the guys from work

We are traveling on vacation and decided to hit as many restaurants as we can that have been featured on diners, drive-ins and dives. We found this little gem and decided to give it a try. My husband’s sandwich, the auntie Louann was fried chicken, jalapeño pimento cheese, thousand island dressing, beefsteak tomatoes and homemade dill pickles and he cleaned his plate. My daughters sandwich, the Don Chingon, was fried chicken, hatch green chili queso, smoked bacon, caramelized onion, loaded guacamole on a brioche bun. She said hers was delicious as well but could only eat half because it was so huge! I had the PEPITOS SUMMER SALAD that was TX WATERMELON, ARUGULA, CHILI SPICED PEPITAS, CHARRED SWEET CORN, GOAT CHEESE, and a light SHALLOT VINAIGRETTE. I added grilled chicken. This is one of the best salads I’ve ever had. We were seated, ordered, received and ate our meal in less than an hour and we are not fast eaters. We will definitely visit again the next time we are in Dallas!

My family and I went for brunch this morning at the Whistle Britches in Dallas. Let me tell you... we were not disappointed at all. Service was great and fast for a busy sunday. I ordered the mother clucker with egg white and chicken. Chicken very moist... Yum yum yum, Delicious! Everyone was happy with their food. You must check it out if you are in Dallas.

Came for lunch. Found our new fried chicken and biscuits place. The chicken is perfectly brined, crunchy, hot, and just dam good. The biscuits are fluffy clouds of butteriness! Highly recommend. Must-go!!!

Seriously - you have to try a place called Whistle Britches! We were first timers and grabbed a late weekday lunch after reading great reviews on Yelp (Trip Advisor restaurant reviews are getting better!) I ordered the Cobb salad which was great - with large chunks of Blu Cheese / bacon / avocado and great marinated chicken. Deviled Egg appetizer was super "foodie" - but really really good! Family had biscuits and chicken that everyone thought were light, crispy and really tasty. Full bar - beer was cold. Ordered one wine from a wine tap that was not cold - but our energetic server replaced with no issues. Cool, trendy location and great food - worth a stop!

Had been wanting to try Whistle Britches for a while. Had Sunday Brunch this past weekend and liked it a lot. As I said get there early. They are open on Sunday from 1000 til 1500. We arrived at 11:00 and it was nearly completely full and while we dined the line got longer and longer. Had Sir Mix a Lot which was 1 piece white, drumstick and wing. The chicken was super moist though the crust wasn't up to par as far as I was concerned. It could have benefited from some seasoning. The Cole Slaw was just ok. The biscuit was fantastic. It weighed about 1/2 pound. Sadly, the service was quite hurried and we had to request butter for the biscuits which a server brought a small pat for our table of four. Otherwise they were quite friendly. Had a Bloody Mary that was just so so. No garnishes. I would maybe eat there again but look for a time that is not as rushed.

We were in the area, it was late and we wanted a quick meal. Found this place on Trip Advisor, the name caught our eye and so we went. There was only one other couple in the place and we were ignored and eventually had to wave down a waitress, all of whom were sitting at the bar. We both had grilled chicken sandwiches, fries for my wife and I had the coleslaw. Once they came around the staff was attentive, our orders arrived quickly but $44.00 dollars was a bit steep for something that is average.

Although a little on the higher end, this restaurant is great for it’s fried chicken and sides. They also have a lot of alcohol options and variety. It’s a little pricey but I think it’s nice to at least try it.

This was our second visit to whistle britches. The chicken is very good. Some of the dishes that I saw coming out of the kitchen did not look very appealing. It's best to stick to the signature items on the menu. The deviled eggs are not good. They definitely need help with them. Our main complaint is the noise level. It is deafening and leaves me thinking that it will be a while before coming back. Hopefully the 2 new locations planned will be more pleasant dining environments.

They have awesome chicken and their biscuits are to die for! I've been to both locations and they were equally good.

A buddy and I went to Whistle Britches the other day for lunch and we were both really glad that that was our choice. Kind of a fun little diner sort of place, with a bar (decent draft beer selection) and patio (it was a little chilly, we ate inside). Seating is in booths and a few tables, the place is not overly large. Our lunches consisted of a chicken salad sandwich with "apricots, cashews and living sprouts on hippie health bread" and the O.G. sandwich, which was a fried chicken breast with pickles (homemade?) and mayo on a brioche bun - both came with potato chips. I had the O.G. and the chicken breast was large and moist, with a nice coating. Add a little of their hot sauce and it was just what the doctor ordered - it was the bomb. Our sandwiches were $8 and $9, which I thought was very reasonable for the quality and amount of food. I will definitely be back!

Had lunch with a ladies group at 11:00 on a Wednesday and was glad we got there early. The place was packed by 12:30 and parking is a little limited. The lunch meals have generous servings and we all took a "to go" box. The crispy chicken is not greasy and the pieces are generous. Biscuits are huge, and come with jam and butter (the way they should). The 3 cheese mac n' cheese is worth the trip from anywhere - could taste the cream. The meals come with biscuit, a side of potato salad or cole slaw, and a large serving of chicken. We all enjoyed the potato salad, which has a hint of mustard. Lunch plates were reasonably priced from $10-$14. We also tried the fried green tomatoes and enjoyed them - not greasy at all.

We saw this place last week while driving home and decided to give it a try last night. It was a great night to take advantage of their large patio dining. We had some ham and jalapeno hush puppies to start. My wife had the whistle britches sandwich. I had the pitmaster and our son had the shrimp and grits. Everything was fantastic. We will definitely be coming back.

The WB Sandwich is delicious - fried chicken breast on a huge biscuit served with pepper jelly...my mouth is watering! The patio is great and service is usually fairly quick. The macaroni and cheese is super creamy. It can get loud inside when it's crowded, so I recommend the patio if the weather allows.

If you want perhaps the best chicken you've ever had, get your tush over here. Everything we had - every entree, side dish, dessert...delish! The Hot Dang is, indeed, hot! Beware! The chicken is excellent and the Oreo custard is "da best"! This just made our top 10 list.

Really enjoyed this place which has been on my "Dallas To Try" list for some time now. Had no trouble with our online reservation we were seating immediately in a packed full dining room. Great service with a touch of personality and a lot of attentiveness. The Pimento cheese was amazing...traditional with a burst of flavor from the pepper jam on top. The Whistle Britches biscuit was perfect...I loved the biscuit and I am picky! The chile mangorita was a highlight in this perfect little spot for brunch.

Family dinner for something new. We all love fried chicken, and my wifes birthday. Nothing but good things to say for all we had. Drinks good, food great. Try the corn fritters, all liked them. Server was great, Plano location has a nice vibe. We will return!

I really had to think before assigning stars to this. I was going to do 4, but then I started thinking. I really wanted to like this place because I love good fried chicken. But while this restaurant is unique, it is because, except for a few salads, the only thing they serve is fried chicken in numerous iterations and combinations. That being the case, it should be the best fried chicken around, and it really isn’t. It’s good, but not great. The coating is nice, the chicken is tender, but the flavor is blah. Meh. Bland. They have a bunch of toppings and sauces for various plates, from traditional southern honey and butter to Mexican and some that include everything but the kitchen sink and not in a good way. It’s the myriad topping combinations on any given dish that have all the flavor, and so many/much that you hardly taste the chicken. But, if you order it stripped down, it’s just the blah fried chicken. The buttermilk biscuits tasted okay, but are over mixed and perfectly square as if they were machine made. Mc Donald’s biscuits look and taste more like authentic southern biscuits. The potato salad made with red potatoes, sour cream and scallions was very good. The Savoy cabbage cole slaw was different in appearance because of the Savoy cabbage, but the dressing was really non-descript. Another meh. It is not an inexpensive place to eat, on the high end for lunch, and too many “not that great” dishes to warrant it. It’s also REALLY loud. So, I’ll go back if a friend really wants to eat there, but not of my own volition.

Not enough words to describe! If you like chicken, it’s the bombdiggity! Start with the Pimento Cheese dip then work your way through a Chicken entree. You won’t be disappointed.

On a whim, we decided to try a new(ish) spot in the 'hood. We visited the once-Sonic-then-Spork-now Whistle Britches. Delightful transformations. The atmosphere is family-friendly but not to the exclusion of adults-only guests. It is low-key, with an emphasis on doing just a few things -- right. And, they do. It is chicken. And, good at that. We had the deconstructed deviled eggs -- fiendishly tasty. Our sides did not disappoint either: Grits --oh, yeah-- and, Mac-n-Cheese --uh-huh, and the coleslaw --all grown up and delicious with some of the specialty table-side sauces. We opted for the sandwich options - Aristocrat (juicy chicken avocado mayo, bacon+arugula) and the Hot Dang (crispy chicken served open faced and dressed to perfection). Utensils needed. Our next visit will likely include the Shrimp N' Grits, and if we are there on a Sunday, probably the Chicken and Waffles too. We heard strong recommendations on those. The full bar boasts some signature cocktails -- we had a "Nice Pear" -- all in the naming...good drink, but for this reviewer, a bit too sweet. It was reminiscent of a Slurpee (w/a whisky kick).

I work a short distance away. And have wanted to stop in at lunch to see what is available. I tried the "Chicken of the sea". It simply a fried catfish filet in a sandwich. Very nicely cooked. Ended up a large sandwich. The plate also came with crunchy potato chips. ... also good. We will be back. A lot of the sauces are house made, so it is really good

Fun place for a casual brunch with the family or a friend. We love to meet our daughter and her boyfriend on occasional Sundays for brunch as we live at 2 ends of the Dallas and surrounding area. I was hoping for a relaxing fun place with different offerings on menu other then the usual eggs and pancakes. Yummy! Fried chicken tenders (served with 4 distinct sauces to choose from) and biscuits seem to be their niche. We did start with the deviled eggs for fun and they were served with a twist. They offer wonderful morning starter cocktails and well as several different specialty coffees. Service was wonderful. MIsha (spelling probably not correct) was very attentive and pleasant. Although were were there on a cooler day the outdoor patio looks nice. Ordered a chocolate pecan pie to go for another family member and it looked yum as well. Plan to return once again

We dined at Whistle Britches this past Sunday. We were actually en route to our regular brunch spot and saw this new establishment and decided to give them a try...best decision ever! We sat at the bar where we found the bartenders to not only be extremely talented in their craft (of making great cocktails) but very engaging and personable. The female bartender provided suggestions on our menu selection...we enjoyed the chicken n' waffles as well as 'the Whistle Britches' entrée. I can't express enough just how delectable the 'WB' dish was from the crispy chicken breast, homemade biscuit to the tantalizing pepper jelly...I had the leftovers for breakfast the following day. We have found ourselves a new, great brunch spot!

Why have I waited so long to go here. I met a friend here for lunch and it was wonderful. We started with the pimento cheese appetizer which is to die for. Then we both chose the Whistle Britches chicken sandwich. The biscuit was flaky and butter was melting all over the chicken. The chicken was delicious! I will definitely be back. I want to try the deviled eggs and grits at some point. The portions are large so come hungry. Our server was helpful and kept our tea glasses filled. We were there 2 hours just visiting and eating and no one hurried us at all. Great place!

We stumbled across this place for brunch on my birthday weekend. Fast service, great location, and yummy food! The menu is so unique and we both loved our dishes. Classy and chic (chicken)!

We stopped by Whistle Britches after seeing some online reviews about how good this place is. We went at about 8:30pm on a Friday night and it was busy, but they were able to get us seated. Service time was normal for a place that was this busy. It was fun looking at their menu and looking at what other customers ordered because it all looked good. I ordered the Whistle Britches sandwich which was a large piece of chicken in a large biscuit. It was really good. If I'm back in the area again, I would love to come back here and bring the rest of my family.

Had seen WB on a recent episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and when I realized where it was I determined to give it a try. Not exactly sure why, but I've had sort of a thing for fried chicken ever since I found Streets (which is killer by the way), and then Mike's Chicken on Maple in Dallas, so when I heard Guy Fieri talking up WB I figured I'd give it a try. And I was not at all disappointed. They have a fun, broad menu with all kinds of great stuff. Chicken and Waffles is a specialty and my guest had that. Said it was great and man it sure looked good. I had the two piece lunch with thighs. It was terrific. Cole slaw was great, biscuit was the bomb. I will admit, their deviled eggs did not hold a candle to those at Street's so if that is your thing, stick with Street's. But when in northern Dallas, if you have a hunger for some great fried chicken, for sure you should give this place a try.

Tried for first time. First the good...the deviled eggs were great and very good value! The not so good...I thought the biscuits were average at best and approaching mediocre. The fried chicken was excellent but I thought overpriced. Three pieces of chicken, one average biscuit and small coleslaw for $15 was a little excessive. I judge restaurants by do I want to go back the next day...I'll have to say no.

Very good place...nice staff, server was knowledgeable and very hospitable. Very clean environment and the food was good. They have a very large selection, I would suggest they cut down the menu so it's easier for customers to choose. But the deviled eggs were good

We ate here during TX OU weekend. The pimento cheese starter is fabulous. Super rich and filling, so don’t over order. Deviled eggs were good enough but I wouldn’t get them again vs the pimento cheese. I had the “hot dang”. Its a Memphis hot chicken sandwhich. It’s huge, so again, it’s enough food. The chicken was fried perfectly with the right amount of kick. It has some sort of nice creamy dressing to cool it off a bit. I also ordered a biscuit. So damn good. I took half of it home and toasted it for breakfast. Very good meal and I would return. Good beer selection.

Some of the best fried chicken anywhere. I had chicken fingers and my companions had the fried chicken and it was all perfect. My plate came with 4 large, tender, crispy fingers and was plenty for dinner that night. Good potato salad but cream gravy has a funny taste. They said they put tarragon in it. Maybe they should try another spice as no one at our table cared for it. Chicken is so good it doesn't need gravy. Patio looked like fun for dinner.

Flavors explode in your mouth with irreplaceable delicious flavors! Neveah’s service and attitude was second to none!! Highly recommend the CFS, Buffalo tacos, and the Sir, Mix, A lot was also great! Don’t even get me started on the drinks! Froze was so gooood! So was the MUCHACHO MARG!!

The Nashville chicken is absolutely spectacular! It is a large portion of brined white chicken breast that is tender enough to cut with a fork. The Nashville sauce is spicy but balanced heat with a cool dill ranch dressing. The chicken sits atop a piece of thick cut Texas toast making a beautiful open face sandwich. I also got a side of the Cole slaw which was so unique and delicious. I think the secret ingredient is horseradish. Delightful! Service was also great and I'll definitely be going back.

Went here this week for lunch with a friend who suggested it. Glad we went early (11:30) as it gets very crowded. Line. Service was very good and the food was amazing. Chicken was very tasty and tender. Food came out quick. Highly recommend.

We went with 4 adults and 2 toddlers on a Saturday early evening and were seated quickly as the restaurant was about half full. Although they seemed to cater to families there were no booster seats or high chairs. After a lengthy monolog from the waiter about their focus on Southern cooking and his favorite menu items, we ordered water and drinks. He had to come back because one of the draft beers was not available. After the drinks were delivered by another waiter, our original waiter came back to get our food orders, where we ordered 2 starters, 4 adult meals and 2 kids meals. After a lengthy wait without seeing the waiter even to refill our water, most of the adult meals were delivered. The appetizers had been forgotten. The rest of the meals arrived shortly and we were told that there would be a delay on the appetizers, so we told the waiter to cancel them. The food was hot and delicious, but the street corn was still on the cob, which was odd and the biscuit on the Sir Mixolot was served without any condiment, ie butter, honey, etc. The waiter was extremely attentive while we were eating, asking whether we needed more drinks or water, then he disappeared again while we finished eating. Someone bused our dirty dishes, but our waiter was missing again. When he finally reappeared, we asked for the check which he brought quickly then promptly disappeared. He finally came back picked up the credit card and he processed the payment quickly. While the food was good, I don't know if we would give them another chance.

If the biscuits hadn't been good i would have mark it at 1 star. Empty at lunch time should have been a sign. I had tenders and garlic butter fries not even warm, flavorless tenders ok fries. 3 appetizers were ordered. The chef needs to read the definition of deviled eggs, what we were served was halved boiled eggs topped with a sauce and some garnishes. Hoe Cakes saturated in sweet syrup, pimento cheese also topped with sweet jelly, just wierd. Last person in our group had a Southern Charmer Salad with chicken and said it was good.

We stopped at Whistle Britches for a late Saturday lunch and found the place packed! We chose to eat at the bar rather than wait for a table and found it a fun option. The chicken tenders were DELICIOUS and the huge biscuit complete with butter and preserves or honey is a must try! Glad we tried Whistle Britches - we will go back!

This really is a fried chicken place & that's about it. We started with the palmetto cheese & crackers, which were great! We had a table of 5, which 4 of us tried different types of chicken that they offer, it was all good but there isn't a lot of variety. I think its a little hard to bring groups here unless you know every single person wants to eat fried chicken. Of course I knew this was a friend chicken restaurant before I arrived but I guess I expected there to be something more to their menu. FYI we tried to go on a Friday night around 7 & there was a 2.5 hour wait, we went at 6 on a Monday & got right in.

In town for business and we try to pick different places for lunch. Read the reviews and came here. Let us say now we have been here twice. Great service and food was great. Chicken is the theme and they make great fried chicken. The "Whistle Britches" was a favorite. I would skip looking and go here again.

Dinner with a few business friends. Service was great, food was good. Mostly chicken options, they make a few other options. More food than most were able to eat. Good value for the price. Open dining area, not much privacy.

I went here with a mate last week at his recommendation. We had put an order in advance to pick up, thinking 20 minutes should be enough time to prep during a non rush time of the afternoon. That was incorrect and I waited another 20 minutes after arriving at the restaurant. 40 minutes to prepare fried chicken for 2 people? That seems a bit long. I compare it to Bubba's in Dallas which I love and it would take Bubba's at most 10 minutes to prepare your meal to go. Whistle Britches is much longer waiting and about 1/3 more $$$. Don't get me wrong, it is great food, but almost $50 for two with tax/tip.

Whistle britches is our local go to for an incredible chicken and biscuit plate. The biscuit is to die for. The chicken is lightly battered and the house made sauces are delicious. Coleslaw is freshly made and has light ingredients. The staff is quick and the food is says hit! .

Their were 4 of us who had dinner here. 3 of us had indigestion and the screamers. My chicken was the last to be served. The batter/crust was too thick and had a taste like it was burnt. The chicken itself was tough and tasted as if the oil it was cooked in was rancid. Biscuits were dense & gummy.

This was our second visit to WB. A much better experience this time although the service was a little disjointed. Was served cream gravy way before our food arrived. A little confusing. The chicken tenders were crispy and full of flavor. Very good. Had the LouAnn open face sandwich, a crispy fried chicken breast over tomatos and brioche bun topped with a thousand island dressing. Opted out of the pimento cheese. Very tasty. The green bean casserole was a flavorable side, served with fresh al dente green beans. Of course the garlic fries did not dissapoint. As mentioned before the service was a little sketchy with three servers asking if we had placed our order. In all though, our server, Udume, smoothed things out and made the dining experience enjoyable. We dined on the picnic-like tables on the patio. Could have used some form of lighting(candles??). Had to use our cell phone to read the menu. We will be back

This Dallas County location had better food and most importantly customer service. At the Southlake location we ordered every item and it was okay/good. At the Dallas location we did the same and it was night and day. Excellent chicken being 100% moist and everything else tasting 100% better. Thank you Dallas. No pictures to save embarrassment. Maybe Southlake is a newer store still working things out.

First, let me say I had the City Boy salad with pears, white cheddar cheese and smoked pecans topped with nicely fried, moist on the inside, chicken fingers. Was very good and filling. The appetizers were very unique. We had pickled jalapeño pimento cheese served with crackers, sweet corn hoecakes, more like a dessert and deviled farm eggs, not your momma's deviled eggs! The eggs were served on a bed of sprouts and shredded cabbage and the yolk was topped with mayo, pickeled mustard and shaved ham...tasty but was very different. My husband had the three cheese mac and it was very good. Our service was slow, but they were very busy on a Saturday at 2:00. Probably because they serve brunch with bottomless mimosas! The manager apologized and made sure we were compensated. They only serve chicken dishes, you can get chicken fingers but try something different. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

We were looking for a new place to eat and found that the old Sonic was a new Whistle Britches. It is decorated very nicely and was easy to get to. We saw the menu and it was unique so we had to try several side dishes. I also had the Love me Tender and everything was very good. The pimento cheese appetizer was excellent. Just wish we had more crackers! I also had the watermelon margarita. Thought it could be just a tad sweeter but it had a nice flavor. Overall, we were very excited to have this nice place in our neighborhood!

Whistle Britches General Manager Wes offers a new take on the rudeness as he insults his customers as he walks away, “…thank you for never coming back,” he said in a snarky tone. Confronting him, I asked why he said that because his comments were very rude and insulting. His response was, “your husband was rude to me.” I guess we are back in the first grade dealing with children. Unwilling to discuss the matter of poor customer service, he hid himself in the kitchen. So, we exited, caulking it up to poor management. This mess started when we sent our three under-cooked biscuits back to the kitchen. And it went downhill from there: no refills, we had to get our own to-go containers and then had to get our own check. We were totally neglected as customers. Even after we had told them that we were supporting them throughout the pandemic, didn’t seem to matter or care. The sad part, we were told that the oven broke down, so we never got our delicious biscuits. Normally great food and service worthy of Chef Flores’ restaurants. This time, very disappointing, and they obviously don’t want us back.

We had a business lunch here during the week. Nice decor. Looks to be a nicely stocked bar however being a business lunch we did not get to enjoy. Service was excellent and the food was great. Everyone tried something different and no one was disappointed. Will be back

I took my two sons for a delicious meal of spicy chicken tenders with a special sauce. I enjoyed my Salmon with a very unique blend of spices I'll come back for. The atmosphere was full of people having a great time. Our waiter was very helpful and kept filling up my glass of refreshing tea. So glad Whistle Britches came to our neighborhood. We'll be back soon!

They have excellent chicken in several dishes plus a great Cobb salad. Their deviled eggs are also phenomenal. The service is hit or miss.

Stopped by here for Brunch one Sunday because it was close to the area we had an event to attend. I had not heard about it before my friend mentioned it. We made reservations which was good because it was crowded! Overall it was a fun, nice meal with friends. Drinks were excellent and I think priced well for Dallas. Our entrees were very big! Easily sharable, but we enjoyed having the variety on the table. All the dishes with the fried chicken were excellent. We had dishes with Tenders and they were so good. We had a salad, two orders of chicken and waffles, and the Colonel. Ordered biscuits as an app to share. Very flaky. Again, overall it was great. Some downsides? But it did not ruin the meal for us. Very slow waitress. And we had to ask for everything twice. It was busy so maybe she was overwhelmed. Don't go for fine dining service, it is more like casual diner service But it was ok. Also- very loud. Like you can't hear most of your table guests loud. I know this is the kind of place this is, just be prepared. The biggest deterrent for me going back on the regular?? The parking is horrible! So take an Uber, get there early so you can drive around the parking lot for a bit, or walk and park across the street. They need to work out a deal with the car wash right there for washing your car and then parking it till you are finished. ;) Again, chicken was great and it was a fun time with friends.

The food is ok. We made a reservation for 9 and got seated right away. Servers were friendly and nice. However, if you want to have a conversation you cant because it's so noisy! I couldn't hear the person sitting across the table. It's so loud the servers cant hear you when you order and someone got the wrong food. Not reccommended.

Great chicken in an old Sonic Drive In. Good honest fried chicken with out too much foo foo. Good service and quick delivery. Go before the hipsters take it over.

This is the way fried chicken is supposed to be. Juicy inside and flavorful batter outside. Delicious! The garlic butter fries are just what they are named...Crispy fries with melted butter w/ garlic poured over them. NOTE - If you get a dish served with a biscuit, t hen be prepared to waddle home. These are real biscuits, fresh soft and dense....these will definitely weigh you down with yummy goodness.

So for the second time our family tried to get in to this restaurant and today after an hour and a half wait with a reservation we left without eating. We’ve been on the fence about this place for years and finally my husband made a reservation for 11 people for 1:30pm. If this is known for breakfast and brunch 1:30pm according to open table seemed like a good time. It was freezing out and the line was out the door. I made my way inside to let them know we were there and the guy said great a table for 12 is getting up well clean it and get you sat right away. Other people with 7, 8, were coming in and out no reservation because I was standing there and heard every conversation were getting tables. I finally said what happened to our table you were going to sit us 30 mins ago. He slipped and said we gave the table away. It went downhill from there. He said well we don’t guarantee tables anyway. What??? I have a reservation you acknowledged when I walked in but your not guaranteeing my table. My mom has cancer and was really weak she goes for chemo and blood tomorrow did they care nope! My daughter was becoming unglued watching this scene. Another employee from another whistle britches apologized to us and he was annoyed they made him wait 45 mins without reservations. Other family members said this place is hit and miss we’ll never know because we won’t go back. I got a call an hour after alerting them we were leaving asking if I was still waiting for the table. Are you kidding me. We were at another restaurant sat for 20 mins and orders taken and now three hours later you want to know if I’m still waiting. She offered no real explanation other than to badger me for showing up early for my reservation and they still didn’t serve us. Why did you call me. Your employee didn’t take care of me. You are not taking care of me and it’s my fault three hours later. I was told at the restaurant they over booked not my fault. If your sitting people without reservations over those with reservations no excuses. DISAPPOINTING!

Awesome meal with the family. Dined early on a weekend night. No wait, plenty of seating. Attentive service. Great selection of drinks. The food was awesome! The three adults had the Whistle Britches, Hot Dang, and Pitmaster. Hot Dang was my favorite. Great spice. Like an amazing buffalo chicken sandwich. Start with the Hoecakes!

Recently ate at this establishment for the second time. Beware! Compare your credit card statement with your receipt! Discovered that someone had altered the amount authorized so that I was billed for more than I had approved. Called the store manager, Stephen, and he promised to look into the matter and get back. Never heard back from him. One is left to wonder what might be going on. As a result, we will most certainly not be back.

The ambiance outside is great- it would be a great place to have a drink. The staff, although definitely shorthanded, was excellent. But the food was just off... Bests- Garlic Fries, chicken tenders, jalapeno margarita. So much of it was too trendy that it didn't make sense. The potato salad was the saltiest I have ever tasted- it made me cringe- and I like salt. The pimento cheese was left mostly on the plate, which is a shame... I had the chicken tenders, which were great- but not $14 great. I don't mind spending money for great food- but Chicken Express has great tenders for $7. The Mac and cheese had no flavor... so we left most of that, as well. I cannot even explain the thought process for the Hoe Cakes. We had 7 people there and we all said "mehhh" Anyway, I would go back for a drink on a pretty day, but they are seriously overthinking their food and understaffing their restaurant. We stood up for 10 minutes waiting on our check.

All three of us ordered something different. It all came with beautiful presentation, and cooked just right. Oh, they did forget one item, (the chicken!) on one order but it came shortly after we mentioned that. Frankly I’m not a big biscuit eater and theirs were not that memorable for me, but the wait staff and other employees were lovely. The place is fun and pretty, and I’d love to go back in the spring or summer because it looked like it would be ever more pretty.

We ate a Whiskey Britches last Saturday. Had a 7 pm reservation. Was seated around 7:15. The place was packed. We ordered "The Whole Bird". Our son ordered the Gochujang Wings with a side of Garlic fries. The fried chicken is very good. Seasoned perfectly. The sides were potato salad and coleslaw. I loved the slaw. It was very basic. Not too tangy. Not sweet. Didn't like the potato salad. It was a sour cream potato salad. The biscuits that come with the meal are HUGE! and delicious!. Served with a side of soft butter and fruit jam. It was a dessert all to itself. Son loved the wings. He didn't like the garlic fries. Too garlicy. Our waitress was "T". She is very good.

Well, it's not too big on the inside, but there is additional seating outside. We went with a group of 12 for brunch and everyone really enjoyed the food. It gets pretty loud inside, but there's bottomless mimosas for $10 so, tradeoff...The chicken is really good, it's kind of their thing. The problem here is parking. Like really, they will sticker your car and tow it. The Wendy's is ruthless with the stickers so be careful. I'd suggest carpooling or taking an Uber/Lyft if you plan on showing up before 2.

The restaurant was ok, waiter was friendly, service was fast. I think it was probably me and my taste buds. I ordered chicken and waffles with syrup on the side. The chicken has a pickled taste due to either the brine or marinade, not sure which one. It was placed on the waffle in a large puddle of butter. I tried removing the chicken from the puddle then the butter from the chicken. The best thing was just to remove the skin because chicken in butter was just gross to me. The syrup was a sweet jalapeño mixture but I would have preferred a simple maple syrup. So like I said, the restaurant was good, just not my taste.

Looking for something delicious while in Dallas. Found this from Triple D. Loved the Fried chicken plate that Kevin the bartender steered me to. Loved the sauces. Loved the staff. Loved the atmosphere. It's easy, fun and yummy.

This is a new restaurant being talked about a lot around town and a group of five of us decided to try it recently for Saturday lunch. This is primarily a fried chicken place: fried chicken on the bone, fried chicken sandwiches, fried chicken tenders, etc. with southern sides. And the bottom line is that all of the chicken we tried was very good. I had the pitmaster chicken sandwich and it was excellent and so large that I could only eat half of it. My husband had the fried chicken and said it was amazing. The biscuits are also not to be missed, they will melt in your mouth! The sides were hit and miss: beans and cole slaw were good, the fries and mac and cheese were nothing special. The portions are very large and most of the food is very fried and very heavy. Bring your appetite because the food is very filling. The service was a different story entirely. Our server ignored us for long periods of time. The restaurant was full, but it’s a very small place with not a lot of tables. People around us seemed to be having the same experience - looking around hoping someone might start to pay attention to them. We were told when ordering that separate checks were not an option and were charged an extra $4 for substituting a side. My son was charged $2.50 for a kid’s cup of milk that was never refilled (same price as the adult drinks) even though he ordered off the adult menu. In addition, it took 30 minutes to get our food with no explanation of why it was taking so long or when the food would arrive. It’s also very noisy when the restaurant is full and difficult to have conversation. I also noticed that anyone entering the restaurant from the rear entrance or visiting the bathroom walks by the area where the food is plated before being served. This seemed unsanitary and just weird as anyone walking by had access to the customers’ food sitting out in the open so to speak. This restaurant has not been open long, so hopefully they will work out the issues with the poor service. If the service matched the quality of the chicken, I might return.

Chicken is good, properly cooked and juicy, but bland without applying one of the two sauces. Hoecake was very good with some nice jalapeño flavor and just the right heat. As a personal preference, the biscuit was too light for me, but I know some folks like them that way. Full bar, which is nice, and the service was very polite and friendly.

This place is fantastic. The taste of their chickent and waffles and their chicken sandwiches is scrumptious. and the quantity is massive. The serving can easily be divided a fully satisfy two hungry diners. Also gret pecan pie

Experienced a very enjoyable evening family dinner which included our two grandsons. They specialize in a variety of chicken dishes which are all well prepared. Very helpful waitstaff. We were even able to sit outside. Well worth a visit.

Good place for lunch and good comfort food. The menu consisted of a lot of chicken dishes which were good.

We ate here on 11/10/16 around 7pm. The restaurant was not crowded but the hostess seated us outside. The deck/patio is beautiful. This restaurant definitely needs heat lamps because it was a very cool November night. We ordered our food immediately but the food took forever. We waited so long that when our food arrived, I was no longer hungry. I know chicken takes time to cook but the wait was unbearable especially sitting outside in the cold. We didn't get our food until about 8:30. When the food arrived, it was just okay. There was nothing special about the biscuit, fries, or chicken. Honestly, I could've just went to Cane's or Chick-fil-A. No one should ever have to wait 1.5hrs for food let alone mediocre food.

This was our first time to try this restaurant. We went out with friends for an affordable dinner and wanted some southern comfort food, Texas style. The restaurant is in a convenient upscale neighborhood area with suburban shopping and restaurants nearby. The location is in far north Dallas convenient to north Dallas, Carrollton and Plano. The atmosphere is pleasant and informal, with a full bar and lively, fun feel to it. The service is friendly and efficient. The food was pretty amazing - Trisha Yearwood would be proud, Fried chicken, creative chicken dishes and sandwiches and southern style sides, Try the hoecakes or the pimento cheese for appetizers. I like Ida Claire, but I gotta say that the food at this place is amazing if you are in the mood for some down home comfort food.

Thought this would be better than I thought. Probably should have had the Chicken and Waffles, but had the Hot Chicken sandwich and was disappointed. It wasn't crispy or hot. Service was friendly but slow, but there was a couple of large groups.

I've passed this restaurant on a daily basis since it's opening and wondered how good and how different can a fried chicken place be? It's that good and that different. I perused the menu on line and read many reviews and wondered can this pricey chicken be worth the money? Yes. Yes it can. The interior of the restaurant is kitchy. The wait staff all wear plaid flannel shirts and it's charming. I'm even obsessed with the dinner ware. After much debate with my husband, he reluctantly agreed to go. We just never thought it would exceed our expectations. On our first visit a few weeks ago, I got The Whistle Britches sandwich. It's crispy chicken on a homemade buttermilk bisquit with honey butter and pepper jelly. They make all their bisquits and gravy and sauces themselves. The bisquit is large and delicious. I weigh all my meal choices by "is it worth calories"? It is. The combination of the honey butter and pepper jelly and the out of this world bisquit and juicy chicken haunts me. My husband got the chicken tenders with gravy. I can't say enough about the tenderness and how juicy the white meat chicken tenders were. Seriously good. We also got the deviled eggs which were good with a unique presentation and preparation. Last Friday we went back to try it again. This time, I got the Korea Town sandwich, which is new to the menu, and my husband got the shrimp and grits, also new on the menu. My sandwich was juicy, spicy and mind blowing. It was the size of my head and we ended up splitting it. He enjoyed the shrimp and grits, but said I out ordered him. They have craft beers to wash it all down and other fun libations. The caramel custard was equally as delicious. While it's pricey, it's worth the money. A sandwich can easily be shared, the calories too. We are fans, big fans.

Stumbled onto Whistle Britches while running errands the other day. Decided to give it a try. The atmosphere And design were quirky and fun. The menu had me shuffling to make a decision. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to my expectations. Everything was extremely salty. Wasn't a fan of the pickle brined chicken. Need another visit to give it a second chance.

Visited tonight with my sister , her fiancé and daughter and the beers were good and the majority of the dishes we ordered were good , one was too salty , a chicken dish with a sauce on it as a main entree . It was noticeably too salty . The chicken strips were great, appetizers were good had the wings ,deviled eggs, and chicken oysters and their biscuits . My observations is that the chicken dishes are majority of the dishes , and if you want a chicken dinner ,, is a great place . Service was good . Again relatively new and feel their doing a good job in their start up. Wish they had a little more diversity in dishes outside of chicken .. My opinion . Overall give it a thumbs up

We went to WB because we saw it on Guy Fieri's Triple D. Not disappointed at all. Appetizers and lunch selections we're all finished without any complaints. Servers was top notch and readily available. Only feedback was on the Chicken N Waffles where the chix tenders were already spicy with out adding the Jalapeno syrup. That should be corrected on the menu.

I just moved from the mountains of Western North Carolina to Dallas, TX with my family. Whistlebritches is down the street, and was exactly what I was looking for to ease the transition. TX unique with a Southeastern flair, great beers & drinks, and insane fried chicken. The first time I visited was with my 4 year son on "boys night out". He loved it, as did I, gorging myself on the "Hot Dang" Nashville chicken sandwich. On the dessert, he asked " how do they make it so magnificent?" On our second visit, watching my pregnant wife crush the "Pitmaster" and street corn... all I could think of is that Diners, Dine-Ins & Drives simply has to come here. The quality, uniqueness, and style of eating is perfect for the show, and this place is a true gem in suburban Dallas. Absolutely fantastic.

We made reservations on a Saturday for 1:00 for 7. We were seated right away and served quickly. The portions are huge and the chicken was delicious. I had the whistle britches and was a little worried about the big pile of seasoned butter on top but wasn’t disappointed because of the flavors. The chicken was crispy but not hard. The meat was tender but not soggy. Nothing was greasy. Everyone in our group enjoyed what they ordered. Bill was $90 for our whole group.

First time at this restaurant, and even though I live out of town, it won't be the last visit! A nice evening on their patio was perfect! We started off with the Sweet Potato Johnny Cake Appetizer, which was delicious! We also had chicken wings which were good too! Portions were generous! I had the Fried Chicken and Biscuit which was great! At our table, we also had The Wedge Salad with Chicken Tenders and a Fried Chicken Breast with Buffalo wing sauce! Our server was awesome.....very helpful and very efficient!

The meatloaf was exceptional. I never order meatloaf at a restaurant but the description caught my eye. I was not disappointed. It was served with mashed potatoes and green beans. Both were fresh and delicious. The chicken tenders were typical but better than average as was the potato salad. I wasn’t fond of the biscuits.

Stopped in for a quick bite and we lingered sampling everything! Everything was incredibly delicious - best chicken we have had in a long time! Service was great even during a busy lunch time. The jalapeño corn bread was mouth watering, the biscuits absolutely delightful, the chicken melts in your mouth. If you are in the neighborhood, you should stop in!

I'm always on the lookout for good fried chicken and decided to try Whistle Britches for lunch on a Thursday. The mid-sized restaurant is located near a busy corner and the inside is bright and colorful. Lots of seating inside, with colorful retro metal chairs, wooden tables, a few booths, and a long bar along one wall. The interior is bright, with window walls on three sides and exposed ceiling and A/C duct work, painted white. There is a nice patio area with additional seating. The day was cool and it was uncomfortably cool inside with the A/C running full blast. At 11:30, there were only two other diners in the restaurant and I was seated immediately and my order taken by a very friendly waitperson. I was concerned about my order when 20 minutes passed without a word from the staff. When it finally arrived, the waitress apologized and then started working hard as the place filled with noontime diners. I had the Sir Mix A Lot chicken meal with potato salad and the chicken appeared to be straight out of the fryer and had to cool before I could try it. Started with the chicken leg, small, as were all the pieces, and found the breading tasty, but the meat stringy. The white meat portion was tender and tasty. The potato salad was not to my taste at all. The best things in the meal were the big, square biscuit and the white meat chicken piece. At nearly $18 for the meal, with ice tea, I was disappointed. If I return, I will stick with the signature Whistle Britches Chicken Sandwich, which appears to have a combination of the best items on the menu.

Decided to finally try Whistle Britches for a date night without the kids. I've read many good reviews over the past couples of years since they have opened and have just never made it in, until now. I honestly didn't even know they made it to Triple D until our waiter told us once we sat down. We had a reservation for 8pm. We were seated right away. It wasn't packed but it was steady in the restaurant our whole time there. They have a pretty decent bar I tried their Blackberry Mule can't remember the exact name and it was pretty good. The wife and myself are big mule drinkers and we liked this one quite a bit. For supper I had their version of Nashville hot chicken it was good but I expected more from all of the hype I have heard about this place. I can honestly say I've tried Nashville hot chicken now from about 5 places around the Metroplex (not in Nashville) and I still contend the one at KFC is the best I've had. I got a side of Mexican street corn and again it was good but I make this at home and it wasn't any better than what I make. I thought the drinks were priced well, but in all honesty the food seemed a buck or two more than it should have been for each item. Again while it was good I expected so much more after reading reviews and this left me a little disappointed.

Loved the quirky, but yummy variety of tasty food stuffs! Starting with a name like “Whistle Britches”, “Deadpool” seemed to be an appropriate descriptive.) I ordered the “Twice as Nice” ($10) - a plate of very good and extra-crispy, although somewhat smallish, pieces of fried chicken, which came with 1 wing (I was given 2 wings) and your choice of 1 piece of dark or white meat, plus a very large, and equally tasty, flaky biscuit, and your choice of coleslaw or potato salad. 2 bottles of sauces are for your chicken: a very peppery carrot (yes - carrot) sauce, and a somewhat milder than expected buffalo sauce. Plus, bottles of ketchup and honey (for the biscuits). The 3-cheese and toasted panko macaroni & cheese ($7) was very nice, if a bit small, and tended to dry out very quickly due to the downdraft of the overhead air conditioning vent; excellent brioche sandwich buns, and some of the best skin-on, red potato salad - worth the trip just for that! A friend ordered the “Yankee” sandwich ($13) - a huge fried chicken breast sandwich, which appeared to have been totally dipped in orange “buffalo” sauce, topped with a generous amount of coleslaw, on a very large brioche bun, and served with an adequate amount of potato chips. Said friend didn’t read the sandwich’s description on the menu, so he didn’t recognize the sauce, as he had never had buffalo wings! Plus, he doesn’t normally like “hot/spicy” food, yet he downed everything but the bun and didn’t complain once! (I gotta try this sandwich next time.) Plentiful parking in front, on one side, and in back. Entry doors front and rear. Interior seating much larger than expected. Surprisingly plentiful outside seating, much of which is covered. Friendly, efficient staff.

Following a business conference, 20+ of the group invaded on a Wednesday evening. Though I was one of the "locals" in the group, I had never been here. I looked at the menu before going and was glad I liked chicken! We started with 3 appetizers- biscuits with blueberry jam (my favorite), wings, and deviled eggs. Those were so tasty that we all knew we would be even more delighted with our meal, though questioning how much room was left after all the appetizers. A variety of menu items ordered and everyone loved their selections. I chose the city boy salad with pears, pecans, and shards of white cheddar. The chicken tenders were crisp on the outside and moist, fork tender on the inside. Many in group had various craft beers and commented about their satisfaction. Wait service was attentive and took care of our large group well! I can't wait to introduce this restaurant to friends and family.

First visit a few months ago was very good. Food and service were great despite the packed restaurant. Revisit mid-week last week was bad. The restaurant was nearly empty but the wait for our food was very long. The half chicken dinner was very small portions and very dry and over-cooked. I also think the menu is a bit over-priced.

The salad portions here are huge and more than enough for a meal. This was my first time here. I arrived for lunch at 11:45. We waited a while for a salad and two pieces of chicken with fries and a biscuit. Considering they specialize in and serve mostly chicken I would have expected a quicker kitchen to table experience. Our service person, Carlisle, was most attentive and friendly. The food tasted good. Again, get your chicken here because they don't serve very much else.

I've driven past this place for the last year not quite sure what it was. Then someone told me they serve chicken and waffles. So I gave it a try today. All I can say is... The best chicken and waffles I've ever had. The best! It's the only dish I've had... I'll be back.

Whistle Britches Tried Whistle Britches after reading many good reviews. Got there at 7 PM on a Saturday night. The place was packed. I was seated after less than 10 minutes. I ordered the Sir Mix A Lot. The offer was one piece white, one piece dark, and a wing with a biscuit and a side of potato salad. At $15.00, I expected something great. Boy, was I ever wrong. The chicken consisted of a breast, a drumstick, ad a wing. Gotta tell you, while the wing was ok, the breast and drumstick were from a Lilliputian chicken. The smallest pieces of chicken I have ever seen. The crispy coating covered minute portions of meat. The taste was OK, but you know chicken is pretty much chicken. The only thing special about this bird is the price. The biscuit was ok. The redskin potato salad was tasty. The ambiance is crowded and New York noisy. My advice, go to Babes' if you can handle the Texas shtick, or go to KFC and fegggedaboutit! Like Diogenes, I will pick up my lantern and continue my search for an honest fried chicken..

Perhaps my favorite biscuits. Barbeqs are in the running, but Whistle Britches are so flaky and rich and decadent. The chicken is quite good. Crispy and juicy. I go with a sandwich (so boneless) but husband orders bone in and likes it. The pimento cheese dip is good. Different but tasty. I was happy that on our last visit we had food service. The food is good enough that even with mediocre service we kept going back. Glad the service is starting to match the food. The frozen rose was a perfect summer drink.

I have eaten here twice, once for lunch and once in the late afternoon. Lunch was crowded and noisy. Late afternoon was good. Service both times was spotty with our waiter. We had to ask for refills on tea. Management staff is attentive. I had the Whistle Britches sandwich, fried chicken on a biscuit and the sour cream potato salad. The sandwich does not come with anything. You have to pay extra for the side. $17 for sandwich and potato salad. It is very good, even though expensive. The 2nd time I was there, I had the Chicken of the Sea, a fish sandwich. Also very good. I work in the neighborhood and came with two other of my co-workers who are on a budget for lunch. This is out of their budget range. The menu is a bit pricey as was the previous restaurant there, Spork. I would suggest they include something with the sandwich or lower their prices.

Try the chicken in any item. Well done. The Auntie Louann was southern lunch overload. Boneless chicken breast over pimento cheese and Texas toast topped with homemade pickles and thousand island dressing. So good! Hmm, wonder what the biscuits are like.

This is our fifth time coming here and as usual, everything was delectable. I ordered the Benny (spicy fried chicken on homemade biscuits with pimento cheese, perfectly poached eggs, and mustard hollandaise), my husband had the soft scrambled eggs with thick cut bacon and biscuit. These decadent brunches paired perfectly with Community’s Mosaic IPA. If you like southern style food, you HAVE to try this place. ❤️ We bring all out of town guests here and they love it.

Great chicken. Biscuits are out of this world. The watermelon salad with elote, queso fresco, pepitas, was awesome.

My first thought as the doors opened was, “Wow. This is really bright and open!” I loved it. It was a much lighter and inviting atmosphere than its previous space owners had created, and we absolutely loved the outdoor patio. To save time while everyone arrived (and mostly because it says it’s a 30 minute wait time), we ordered “The Whole Bird” for the table and some appetizers. Let me tell you; even if you just want a little afternoon snack, get your whistle britches over there and order the “Pickled Jalapeño Pimento Cheese.” Their saltine crackers are house-made, very on-trend at the moment, but there was nothing “trendy” about how those crunchy chile-flaked wafers of deliciousness worked magic in combination with that pimento cheese to transport me directly into a huge wooden rocking chair on somebody’s grandaddy’s front porch somewhere in the South. North Dallas was not the vibe that app was rockin’. It was a tip of the hat to Southern cuisine in one unassuming countrified bite, and it was amazing. There was a definitive note that really separated this fried chicken from what one would expect. And, I’ve had me some fried chicken, my friends. This was special. The crust adhered so perfectly to the chicken, and the wonderful aromas circling the table were intoxicating. Even thinking of it now, I can recall that herbaceous note of the crust without being heavily crusted with herbs. It was certainly memorable.

If you want a great hot piece of fried chicken eat here. The portions are huge and the chicken is seasoned to perfection. Sides were large and on point. The food was so good, the power went out after they brought my plate and I kept right on eating! I was not leaving that big biscuit and that Yardbird!!! Good eats!

On the recommendation of a friend, I stopped into Whistle Britches to pick up dinner for my family. $34 for a chicken with 2 small sides and 2 biscuits. A bit pricey, but worth the price for good chicken. But our chicken was anything but good. In fact, it was bleeding! Hard to believe a restaurant who’s staple is fried chicken would serve undercooked chicken. First time-last time at Whistle Britches.

This comfort food place was touted as having amazing fried chicken. Ah, not quite. At best it was fried chicken ordinare! Nothing to write home about, sorry I've had much better and have had much worse.

Half a chicken and half a bottle of Wycliffe 3.99 champagne is not worth $50 very friendly staff though and no parking

It is a sunny Spring day in Dallas, and Whistle Britches was a great choice for lunch. The restaurant is medium sized but the outside patio area more than doubles its capacity. We were seated at a "group table" and almost immediately our server appeared with water and menus. The menu is chicken and biscuits made in a variety of innovative and delicious ways. There is a full bar and many Craft Beers on tap. They offer several interesting sounding appetizers, but we went straight for our entrees. The chicken tenders and biscuit were enormous--4 large tenders, a 4" square biscuit and a generous scoop of potato salad ($13). Three side sauces and honey are available. The service was quick, friendly and our food was served fresh and hot. The patio is dog friendly and has a corn hole game available to pass the time. This was a great find, looking forward to our next visit.

This place was e everything I heard it was. Great chicken, brisket big and good. Will have to make a return visit before I leave Dallas next week. I had the Colonel, chicken, ham and egg, wonderful! Just enough kick on the chicken to make it wow.

I’m happy this place is close and available for some tasty food and drinks. They have some interesting cocktails, good local beers, and more on the drink menu. Food wise there is a brunch/lunch menu and a dinner menu. For starters, the corn fritters are so good. Crispy and full of corn with a nicely spiced sauce. I didn’t try the skillet cornbread on this visit but have in the past and it’s delicious. Perfect with honey butter and the honey available at the table. For lunch I couldn’t pass up the Love Me Tender with four good sized, crispy tenders, a giant biscuit, and potato salad or slaw. I was torn as I love them both but went with the potato salad. Good choice. It was creamy and mustardy with nice chunks of potato. The biscuit wasn’t as tender as usual but still good. Especially with some butter and honey mixed with their in house hot sauce. Service was good. She was friendly and food came out hot. Drinks were refilled as needed. It’s a good restaurant with many delicious items on the menu. Enjoy! 🍗 🍺

I had heard this was great Southern cooking. We drove from downtown Dallas for my Birthday. What a disappointment! ! I ask for the music to be turned down 3 times, we couldn't hear each other talk. You sit on metal outdoor furniture. Service was average. The southern cooking was......not southern. No greens, no corn bread, no mash potatoes, etc... Someone needs to teach them what a deviled egg is, there's are a joke, didn't care for the potato salad, cold slaw, mac & cheese, chicken. Bubba's puts this to shame.

Miss Virginia declared this as the best she has ever had...and she has had fried chicken! Fresh, moist, tender and crispy crust. We have never seen this combination. The potatoe salad was good, deviled eggs innovative and good, pimento cheese out of this world. Tell your friends, and yes, we will be back. Heather was our waitress and she was amazing!

Just got around to trying this place out. We were all skeptical because the previous place was not a keeper. Well, Whistle learned from its predecessor's mistakes. Amazing service, delicious dishes and great ambiance. First, the service. We were served quickly and checked on often. Whether it was our waiter, another waiter or the person I assumed was the manager, each came by and checked on the table without interrupting. The menu has all winners. No odd items here. We had the creamed corn hoecakes which sound different but have a very familiar taste. Delicious! So was the chicken, the biscuits, even the salad. Had the watermelon margarita which was good and strong! And lastly, great ambiance. The tables are nicely spaced apart. Decor has a nice vibe. Noise level was just right. Outdoor space will be awesome when it's not 98 degrees. Bathrooms were clean and in great condition. Will definitely be coming back. Even with a small bar, I would stop in just for drinks.

Tried WB on a Saturday for lunch. I’ve been wanting to return here for a long time. Will be longer before we return, if we ever do. Cole slaw was outstanding. And the biscuit with strawberry jam a treat. But the fried chicken? Very disappointing. Not much flavor. Needed salt. Crust was crispy but bland. My wife, who doesn’t normally eat fc, tried it but immediately said it was fairly tasteless. Now I love fried chicken which is why we came here, but I remarked to my wife that Tom Thumb’s had more flavor than this. Oh dear. And the service. They weren’t very full but we waited several times. Eventually I had to track down my server to pay the bill; he was playing catch with the bar manager. That’s more fun than waiting on customers apparently.

I was going to take my six-year-old grandson on a lunch date and he told me about this place. He literally showed me where it was as well. I had the chicken and waffles and shared with him and they were amazing!

Went on Saturday for brunch. Was seated immediately. What's brunch without a Bloody Mary! It was devine with the half boiled egg, olive & warm chicken wing! Very tasty indeed. Had the chicken & waffles with the warm jalapeno syrup. OMG! It is a must have. Can really not find anything bad at all. Hope to go back soon & try the dinner menu.

Space was a Sonic in prior life but only the parking lot gives that away! Cute but simple layout works well with comfort food like this. Chicken "oysters" with special sauce are really good. SIR MIX a lot dinner was well worth the $15 price tag. There were 4 sauces for the chicken and I used both the honey and the spicy vinegar one. There was a ketchup and an ultra spicy fourth one. The char grilled chicken wings presentation was great with the spiralized twisted cucumber. Really liked the purple hull pea succotash with sweet corn and jalapeno. The buttermilk biscuits with homemade jam and butter were so tasty and buttery and flaky. We had plenty to take home and our bill for 2 without drinks was just under $50 before tip. We'd go back! It's right in our neighbourhood!

We were a party of 10. I understand it is difficult to serve large parties during a Sunday brunch, the only thing i ask is that my FOOD was COLD. Not acceptable. I had the Benedict. Disappointed. I will try back to see if the have the kinks ironed out.

I found out about this place because it was reviewed by the Dallas Morning News. Boy am I glad I took their recommendation and visited. We actually went the very next day after the DMN review. The place was bustling yet our service was excellent and the food was fabulous. It is small and casual but neither the staff or the kitchen take a casual attitude toward what they are doing. The "bucket" of fried chicken was cooked to order, arrived piping hot and was delicious. We ended up taking the sides home having filled up on the chicken. The bartender (who preferred not to be called a mixologist) takes pride in his craft and served up some tasty speciality cocktails. Worth a visit.

I was in town for the first time in 25 years and found this gem. The menu looked interesting so I stopped in. I had the C.F.S. but with chicken and a side of three cheese mac. I think I had Coconut Pie to go, but I don't see desserts on the menu and it has been a few weeks since I was there. The chicken was moist with an awesome crunchy outer layer, the gravy was good, the mashed potatoes were creamy and green beans cooked just right. The three cheese mac was great but this was all too much food for one sitting. I would definitely return if in the area again.

Wow! This place is amazing! Some of the best fried chicken I've ever had! There isn't a bad thing here! Great atmosphere! Great quick service! Will be returning!

The biscuits are not bad, they're more firm and crisp than they are fluffy but still, not bad. They were excellent for use as a chicken sandwich but as biscuits alone, they were just ok. The chicken was excellent; well seasoned, juicy, and high quality in the way it was cooked. The chicken is better than sissys southern kitchen chicken and streets fine chicken. (Nobody can compete with streets fine chicken biscuits) Excellent experience in great atmosphere with a great waitress. Get the hoecakes, get extra sauce and butter so you can saturate them all in it.

This is has down the best chicken I have ever had! I got the chicken tenders and they were AMAZING! The biscuit was fabulous and the mac and cheese was really good....but the chicken!!!! So good! This is my new go-to for dinner when I am in town. The best chicken ever!

I have wanted to go to this restaurant for quite a while. It is virtually impossible to find a parking spot on weekends and after several attempts we were able to have lunch on a weekday. The chicken is flavorful with a crisp coating. However, the pieces are quite small. The biscuits are delicious and the potato salad is very good as well. Pretty expensive for what you get. The service is spotty at best and I never really knew who our waiter was. I had to ask several times for butter for the biscuits. Very ambivalent service and they weren't really that busy. I hate to see what it is like when they are really busy. The decor is very casual and you do sit on metal outdoor chairs. I am doubtful I will return because it isn't worth the hassle and there are many more southern style chicken places in Dallas!

This is a very casual place with a specialized menu but well worth your attention because there's some seriously good food here. It's chicken and more chicken, but better than you will find anyplace else in Dallas. We didn't eat everything but the three of us tried a variety from the menu and highly recommend every single thing. Deviled eggs are being done at a number of casual restaurants but Whistle Britches holds its own with any of them. They not only taste great but the presentation was clever and beautiful. Make these a starter for your table. We moved on to entrees and sandwiches. Sir Mix a Lot is a three piece fried chicken entree with a huge biscuit and slaw. Love Me Tender was four chicken strips with biscuit and slaw. In both cases the chicken was cooked perfectly - moist, tender with a delicious crispy crust. The biscuits are nearly worth the trip all by themselves. They're so big they are really the equivalent of 3 normal sized biscuits. And perfection inside. The Pitmaster was a massive sandwich. Fried chicken breasts drenched in a barbecue sauce coated in melted cheese on a big bun with slaw and bacon onion jam. Even though it's big enough for two, you will want to eat every bite. I am usually disappointed in Mac and Cheese at most places, but I was delighted with this. I definitely rate it best in Dallas. We had no room for dessert, but they looked intriguing. So maybe another time. If the weather is good, the beer garden in the side is very appealing. Especially with a good selection of draft beers. Make sure you give this place a try.

Came here for a birthday brunch. Food was average and not worth the price. Atmosphere was nice and had a good crowd. They wouldn't let us split the check which was bothersome.

I was a bit skeptical, I've been eating fried chicken all my life. I helped my great grandma fry chicken in her cast iron skillet. This is the best fried chicken I've ever eaten. Period. They served it with a flaky, tender biscuit that I dipped in white gravy. The potato salad was wonderful. I'll go back, and bring as many people as I can, because this was greatness.

The waitress had a great personality but food, drinks and everything else took absolutely forever. Chicken (pieces-fried) was good. But NOT outstanding. Pieces were very small especially the chicken breast. The manager came over but did not offer to take care of anything or speed up the service. Very disappointed and absolutely will NOT be back.

Quaint atmosphere and best chicken and waffles in DFW! Chicken is moist, tender and juicy! 3 large strips/ tenders of all white meat fried to a crunchy delicious brown atop a buttery, soft & fluffy waffle! The jalapeño syrup cuts the richness with a nice kick! We also ordered a side of Mac n cheese! It was ooey, gooey and was served in a mini iron skillet with a crispy, crusty topping! Certainly delicious! For a family of 4 or more, I’d recommend “the whole bird” option! Was a little too loud to chat, or hear our waitress but that’s because everyone is having a terrific meal and a good time! Saw this place on the Food Network and it didn’t disappoint! Now a family fave!

My wife and I visited with a couple friend of ours on a Wednesday night at dinner time. Not busy at all/only about 10 other people there total. Service was good (the waiter did knock my water over but it didn't get on the wife and I-only in the fries.). He offered to replace fries but I had already eaten most of theme I had chicken strips with the spicy seasoning with fries. The wife had a chicken sandwiches. The biscuits are great with the honey and butter they serve. Good little place of you like chicken!

Unique, electic, and broad menu for a place focused only on chicken. Family enjoyed a wide variety of plates, appetizers, and drinks. Not one single complaint. If you get any side, get the mac & cheese.

Another mediocre visit. I keep trying. Every 4 months or so I coax the wife back. Now they have wine on tap only. No bottles. Not a bad selection. But barely cool white that we had to return twice. Never did get a cold glass so we finally went with a red. Which was good. But really, if you're going to have wine on tap make sure it is cold. And may i suggest an upgrade to a decent cut rim glass please? So we wanted to order some apps. The 3 on happy hour are only available at the bar. Where they have 9 stools. So if you are not one of the lucky 9, you pay full price. Ridiculous. And realize we ordered them anyway. From our table within 5 feet of the bar. Silly. The stuffed eggs are excellent as they always are. Fried green tomatoes were new and very good also. Chicken oysters have such a crispy breading it hurts to eat them. Unfortunate because the meat was juicy and tender. But my mouth still hurts from that overly crisp breading. So, I think I'm done with the place. At least for 4 more months. Whoever is in charge needs to review the program. A ton of potential never yet met.

The food was wonderful and our waitress was excellent. This place is popular so very crowded. As long as you know that going in and either are prepared to wait or go at a not busy time it's worth a visit. Buttermilk Biscuits with butter and seasonal jam are to die for.

Found the restaurant very busy with an estimated 30-minute wait that turned into 50 minutes. Wait staff was very good and the food arrived quickly as we ordered direct from the menu with no real changes. Food was hot. Chicken and country ham very, very good. Biscuit and gravy OK. Pricing just above moderate trending toward pricey. I would go back and try a different dish.

Whistle Britches has a weird name and a off the beaten path location but don't let that deter you. Everything else is amazing. There were two of us who wanted to eat and watch the beginning of the Monday Night Football Cowboys/Detroit game. We sat at the bar and were helped by a super friendly and knowledgeable bartender. We were served quickly and had a dinner of the best fried chicken on the planet. We had read that they had some of the best chicken in Dallas so we were determined to order some version of it. We ordered the Pitmaster Chicken sandwich, the Wedge Salad with chicken tenders added and a side of the green bean casserole. The Pitmaster had a large piece of white boneless fried chicken, cilantro cole slaw, BBQ sauce, cheddar, carmelized onion, bacon jam, and pickled jalapenos on a large tasty bun. It was a crispy chicken spicy flavor bomb. Each component was so, so good on their own, especially the pickled jalapeno. Definitely order this. The Wedge Salad had the usual ingredients but executed perfectly - blue cheese crumbles, bacon crumbles, purple onion thinly sliced and grape tomatoes. It was easy to get a bite of all ingredients with each bite, one of my requirements for an outstanding salad. You can add chicken strips, which we did. I will never come here without ordering the fried chicken in some form. The pickle brining is genius. The interior of the white chicken is more tender and moist than any white meat chicken I have ever tried. The crust is super, super crunchy and flavorful too. The green bean casserole is not your grandmother's version. Small, fresh cooked perfectly green beans are in it, along with cooked perfectly mushrooms, a light mushroom sauce (definitely not mushroom soup) and crunchy onions on top (not from a can). Very good. Servings are huge. They have a good bar with strong craft beer selections. The staff is super friendly and engaged. The interior is attractive. We will be back.

Good food, prepared well, without the gimmicks, would have suited me better than this trend toward "if it sounds good it must taste good". Check out the menu on line to see what I mean:" PITMASTER | $13.00 CRISPY CHICKEN, CAROLINA TREET BBQ, WHITE CHEDDAR, CARAMELIZED ONION BACON JAM, CILANTRO SLAW, PICKLED JALAPEÑOS". Service was OK, portions were large, and we took ours home for a second day. They do have Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale on Tap plus a fair number of local craft beers. Would give it a future try, but not break my neck doing it.

Went here for a business lunch. Was a little loud for that but we adapted. Loved the country style plates. Had the auntie Louann. Was very tasty. Service was timely and friendly. Want to go back and try the signature chicken sandwich on a biscuit.

My wife and I dropped in for lunch and had a fabulous meal. The chicken options were very creative and I had the tenders and she had the salad. Both meals were outstanding and the tenders had just the right amount of coating and did not taste greasy at all. they were great with the different sauces and the biscuit was to die for. Full bar and great service. Definite return visit soon and a place not to be missed in Dallas.

Visited for lunch 9/17 based on Dallas Morning News favorable review. Split a "Whole Bird" of fried chicken, cole slaw, and potato salad ($32) and two buttermilk biscuits with honey butter and seasonal jelly ($6). This is very good fried chicken and the biscuits were even better. Good beer selection and I ordered the Pineapple Express which was tasty and not on the menu ($8). Service a little uneven but totally acceptable.

My wife and I visit this place every few week when we want amazing chicken. There menu is perfect for pleasing everyone for brunch and lunch with the selection of items from salad to tacos to chicken and waffles! Sometimes service is slower when crowded but it’s worth the wait. One visit is all it will take to become a fan.

The food was absolutely delicious and the service great! We enjoyed the Hot Dang and The Colonel, a side of Theee Cheese Mac and Corn Fritters...outstanding! Mouthwaterung, served piping hot. We will be back. DDD Favorite!!!

From out of town for a family visit and this Sunday Brunch did not disappoint. Had a reservation for Sunday Brunch (highly recommended). The meals we had from pancakes and chicken to Biscuits and Gravy. All the food was awesome and timely which was saying something since the World Cup finals were on all of the TV’s. They have a FULL bar and that added to our meals. Highly recommend build your own mimosas bar was a great great. Lastly the burbon milkshake was the best (hint) mix it before you take the firs sip :)

I had the fried chicken and waffles, overall very good. Once I tasted how rich the honey butter was, I should've scooped off the excess, but that was my fault. The jalapeño infused syrup was very tasty.

Wanted it to be better - sandwich (fried green tomato BLT) was prepared correctly but the flavors ran together. Biscuits were dry. (Of all things!) and Mac & cheese was runny and tasteless. Really surprised. Really bummed for $85. Will try again but maybe stick to chicken tenders :-)

Classics with personality and a slight twist: the sour-creamed potato salad with green onions, the square crazy flaky biscuits, the bed of sprouts and finely shredded cabbage cushioning the deviled eggs and complimenting them with crisp clean flavor. Did I mention yet that the fried chicken is perfectly crispy and succulent? Yeah, it is. Will be visiting Dallas again soon -- can't wait to go back.

I had seen the reviews online of this brand new place- and were excited to check it out. The watermelon margarita was yummy with the salt! My husband said he didn't like the size (too small-lol). My son and I split the Sir Mix a lot for lunch. The chicken is uber tender! The coleslaw was delicious. The biscuit is ridiculous - (large! And more like a desert.) My husband had the Hot Dang. He enjoyed it very much. My husband loved the crunchy/ crisp coating on the chicken. My son and Are not fans of that. Next time we will opt for chicken without the skin/ crisp. Very happy to see the building has been taken over and in use! The reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5- it felt like it took 5-10 min longer to order than it should have. Our waitor was not quite as attentive in those moments. Also our table was a bit wobbly, despite the Mgr attempting to fix it. It worked out fine and did not detract from our enjoyment - it's just the reason I didn't give 5 stars.

My friend and I love to try new places to eat. I’d read about Whistle Britches a few months ago. We went for lunch early this week. It took nearly 25 minutes to get our food. I ordered the lunch with a wing, choice of a second piece of chicken (white or dark)and a side. I requested a drumstick for my second piece and selected potato salad as my side. My friend opted for chicken and waffles which normally comes with chicken tenders, but she asked if she could have wings instead of tenders. The waiter (Philip) agreed. When the orders finally came out, my second piece was a THIGH (which I can’t stand). I called this error to Philips attention. He apologized and took my whole plate back. In the meantime, my friend’s lunch came out. The two wings were on top of the waffles (which were soaked in syrup) and the chicken was drenched in melting butter. I waited several minutes and my waiter brought my plate back, still with the thigh on it, and said he didn’t want my food to get cold while I waited on the drumstick. I asked him for some butter for my biscuit. The wing on my plate was still so hot I couldn’t eat it. Grease RAN out onto my plate. I waited about 6-7 minutes for a dab of butter. It took about 15 minutes to get my drumstick. Again , so hot as to be inedible. The chicken lacked seasoning. Tons of grease when you bite into it. The chicken was tough and “chewy”. My potato salad had way to much dressing on it. Needed seasoning. I had to ask for salt and pepper.Service less than stellar. This was a $27.00 lunch! With only water to drink. We won’t go back.

Food was fantastic! Flavor explosion in your mouth. Chicken was tender and crunchy. Def a must stop spot. Googled and found that this place was on Diners, drive-ins and dives. Make sure to stop here!

My bff and I are more into sides and favorites than into ordering an actual entree so we ordered sides. They were all amazing!! It has been months since I was here and I still can’t get this place out of my mind. The location, decor, service, food—it was all exceptional!

Returned to enjoy their awesome food!! From pimento cheese to hoecakes to Deviled Eggs...all appetizers were GREAT!! I could make a meal off of them! But, the Chicken is so yummy, you must try it too! Chicken and Biscuit sandwich was great.....large portions...we shared(especially after all the appetizers)! Waiter was very attentive and very helpful! A must visit in the north Dallas area!

If you love fried chicken, biscuits, and southern sides, you've come to the right place! A very casual but cute atmosphere. Servers are very friendly. I get take out a lot, which stays delicious on the ride home. The Pimento Cheese is an app and not to be missed. Very spicy. Very delicious. I prefer the chicken pieces over the strips. Juicy and very tender due to their brining procedure. Biscuits couldn't be more tender and tasty. I can pass on their sauces. I stick with honey. Like both slaw and potato salad. Everything on the menu looks tempting. It doesn't get better than this. I hear that cocktails are good as well.

They do all things chicken well. Open bright place with tons of windows and a patio. We didn't have reservations on a Saturday afternoon and had to wait 20 minutes. It never slowed down the entire time we were there. The corncakes ($8) were so good and were covered in tiny popcorn. The syrup has candied jalapenos in it. We split that as an appetizer. We both had chicken and waffles off the brunch menu ($15). The fried chicken was moist and tasty. Waffles had that same syrup and I wanted a more traditional taste, personally. The portion is huge. Lemonade was nice. It was my friend's birthday, so we ordered the banana pudding custard. Beautiful presentation. The plate it was served on had banana slices, nilla wafers and carmel. I was expecting custard like creme brulee, but it was a frozen custard. Nice surprise. We had a few bites of it, but were stuffed. I didn't eat the rest of the day after lunch - was so full. Waitress was pleasant. My glass did go empty a couple of times. They have bottomless mimosas, too.

3 words: We Shall Return! Well, maybe 3 more- Best Food Ever! Oh, and just 3 more: Phenomenal Customer Service! 1st time eating out in a year due to pandemic, other than take out. We met another couple (our BFF’s) I selected WB based on name & photos of food. I can honestly say that everything was perfect. Fast, courteous service; unbelievably flavorful food; and drinks as ordered, ice cold and ready for consumption. I can’t remember the last time a restaurant actually surpassed my expectations! Happy hour appetizers are just $5. We tried the pimento cheese served with crackers. Unbelievable. We also tried the deviled eggs. OMGosh! Devoured in minutes. My friend & I couldn’t decide on dinner, so she ordered chicken & 🧇, I ordered the Cobb salad 🥗 and we spilt the dishes. Every bite was better than the previous. Plus, we both took home enough for lunch the next day. Everything is fresh, & sourced locally. This is not bar food. This is a restaurant with a fantastic bar. Do yourself a favor. Go to Whistle Britches Plano. What are you waiting for?

Strange location for a restaurant but don't let that detour you. Menu is 90% chicken. Waffle machine was broken when we arrived which was heart breaking but there regular chicken is awesome. The house made hot sauce is some of the best I've had. Love the habanero sauce mixed with honey. Great spot we will be back.

Had dinner at the former Spork location, now Whistle Britches. They still have the outdoor space/patio and thankfully eliminated all the games previously available for the kids. Allows for a little(way little) more of an adult atmosphere. Had the fried chicken which was very good, flavorful, crispy and perfectly cooked. The service was inconsistent with long waits between drink orders. Disappointed the noise level inside the main dining room was not addressed. Still very loud and almost cavern like. I guess the old Spork customers with kids are now dining at WB. Kids not in their seats, line dancing and running around between the tables and noisily playing with toys on the empty tables. Annoying. Not sure we will be back because of the noise level and the unattended, rowdy child behavior.

Went to Whistle Britches for dinner with friends last night and as usual it did not disappoint. The pimento cheese as a starter is AMAZING. We tried the desserts for the first time--they were awesome. Frozen custard with all types of toppings. Chicken sandwiches were very good.

Most occasions, a three-star is pretty average for a restaurant; a two-star this visit. Pros: * garlic fries, nice flavor * mac & cheese, creamy * salmon [only the salmon as part of the Southern Charmer dish] Cons: * Southern Charmer [onions were provided even though we didn't order them; too much arugula] * Pitmaster [the sandwich would've been ok, but the bbq overpowered all the ingredients; it needs balanced flavors] * Margaritas [inconsistency in recipe - flavor, but ok] * A view of the street and parking lot isn't the best; an addition/continuation of the privacy fence would be cool.
Quirky restaurant with good food
We went with some friends last night to Whistle Britches. The floral print on the booths reminded me of a grandma's home-in a good way. The host and servers were very friendly and quick with our orders even though it was fairly busy. We started with the hoecakes and deviled eggs. The hoecakes were covered in the jalapeno syrup which cut the sweetness of the rustic cakes. As for the deviled eggs, they were bathed in mustard and topped with a slightly sweet-sour melange. Pretty good, but I've had better. Everyone chose the chicken and waffles, they were lightly doused with the jalapeno syrup and red pepper flakes. The chicken was a bit over-done but had just the right spice to it to pare with the sweet waffle. Our over seventy dollar bill (only ice teas no drinks) flummoxed us. On the whole, good food but overpriced for what you get.
