I visit this joint every time I visit Atlanta. Been doing that since 1995. It's a great spot for breakfast or lunch. Service is friendly and warm but not overly so. Often you will get a greeting from the owner. It's away from the trendy overpriced joints over by Lenox and Phipps. Today I had the grouper for lunch with black-eyed peas and slaw. It was nicely seasoned and not overcooked. Generous portion, too.

My first visit to the venerable White House restaurant. With an election coming up, it seemed like a funky thing to do. What a surprise...I loved it! It's a small diner-type restaurant in a strip mall, but with a 2016 Lexus parked in the lot! The wait staff was warm and friendly, as well as helpful when we asked for suggestions. We settled for a basic southern breakfast: eggs, grits, biscuits, and bacon. (Yes, they have country ham) Everything was perfect! The price is very reasonable. We arrived about 11AM and were seated immediately, but I imagine there is a line outside at times. They are open from early morning to 2:30PM. They also have T-shirts, baseball hats, and aprons with The White House Presidential Food Service seal.

Great food, great service. We moved away but always try to visit at least once when we are in town and it hasn't changed a bit. It's full of nostalgia for me which sometimes leads to disappointment but the White House has never disappointed!

Just back from Saturday breakfast and honored to discover a landmark, same owner 45 years. I see that some reviews are scoring it low and that's wrong. "Old and Tired" Yes like the pyramids. Maybe we should judge something within its group (diners, 4 star, street food) so a diner like this gets 5 star for what it is and not because its the best restaurant but its the best in lasting power, same ownership, smiling waitresses that have been there for decades...

Better for breakfast. Lunch is only so so. Wait staff was ok since had to flag xown someone for more sweet tea.

This is a little diner that has been around forever and has such a cool atmosphere. The owner works there along with the rest of the friendly team. The french toast is fabulous, grits are good, eggs cooked perfectly, sausage links are great,... I suspect it’s all good. Some parking available. Inside and outside seating. Large portions. Expect to spend $20 per person. I loved this place and highly recommend.

breakfast is great, lunch buffet is massive and delicious. small place with mostly locals. booth seating with a few big tables.

Great Breakfast with wonderful service and reasonable prices. Parking can be a little iffy but if you can find a space pull in. It is worth the stop. The eggs were absolutely perfect. They were so fresh you would thing there is a chicken coup in the kitchen.

Good breakfast with a wide variety of choices at reasonable prices. Very hospitable staff and quick service. May be a little tough to find a parking spot but worth the effort to get a nice breakfast.

A classic what we would call in England a greasy spoon. Good food and great service . I had eggs bacon and grits. My partner had a cheese omelette. Coffee very good.

The food is absolutely amazing! I had an egg biscuit and a chicken gyro (I wanted breakfast and lunch) with hash browns. The biscuits were fluffy! The hash browns crispy. Eggs scrabbled well. The chicken was seasoned sooo good. And guys they have BANANA PUDDING! It was a great end to our meal and it’s made by the owner. 😍 Come here you won’t regret it!

The service was slow but the food was good. What made me most upset is that my sister paid for her food in cash and I used my credit card. The restaurant charged her bill on my card which I found out when I got home. Thankfully I challenged it with my card company and the restaurant didn't get a second payment for my sister's food.

I have lived in Atlanta for 38 years and this was my first time in this restaurant. I had a bowl of oatmeal with sliced banana and my guest had 1 scrambled egg and 3 slices of bacon. I had water and my guest had a cup of coffee. The bill was $26.00 including the tip and I wondered how....Obviously they have been in business since 1948 so they must be doing something right...BTW the oatmeal and banana were very good..

We read about this place on Trip Advisor and thought we'd check it out. What a wonderful place! The service was fantastic, the portions were HUGE, and the food was delicious! Would definitely come back again!

We met some friends here early on Sunday for breakfast. We got seated right away. By the time we left there was a long line waiting to be seated. The menu is quite extensive. Once we ordered it took quite a while for the food to come out, but it was fine since we had time to catch up with our friends. I ordered 2 eggs over medium with bacon. When the food came the eggs were closer to over easy but I didn't return it since it took so long to get. The bacon was delicious. Everybody at the table enjoyed their meal. It was a good meal.

I will yield to the critics whose reviews tell me this place has much to offer but as far as "Biscuits and Gravy" are concerned, one must love bland gravy and below average biscuits to recommend this place for this particular dish. The hash browns are nothing special either and are not worth the price.

They have been in business over 50 years, so you know it must be good Our waitress today has been there 26 years .It closes at 2;30 pm, so get the day started here. Breakfast is our favorite, but the lunch selection also good..

Always a great fast breakfast meal. Perfect Greek Diner like food. Good for business meetings but also come here a lot on weekends for a lower cost full breakfast option

I stayed over week-end in Atlanta, so I had some time. I had enough of hotel restaurant breakfast. So i looked for alternative and found this one. I was thinking it is american because of the name. But this restaurant is greek. Food is excellent as well service, I can recommend.

Eat healthy. Eat unhealthy. The White House serves either and with a bit of the Southern style charm hard to find around the other White House, especially at breakfast time. Our President wouldn't be eating burgers and fries if this White House was anywhere near his. We entered on a Thursday morning thinking breakfast. It was 10:30. At 11:00 lunch service opens. But thanks to Ella, our wonderful server, she was able to fetch a most delicious broiled grouper with sides of a junior Greek Salad and Greek Green Beans. My wife and son went the traditional route with eggs, hash-browns and pancakes. They were equally satisfied. Everything was very fresh and tastefully prepared. The table got a little crowded and is an indicator of their plentiful portion sizing. Don't let the little strip mall location fool you. This place is first class in food, service, cleanliness and value without concern for the overstated signs and marketing designs common in their competition.

Went here for a Sat. breakfast. Both inside and out it looks like your basic non-descript strip mall diner. But ooh, the food. Smoked sausage cut from a 12 inch link; the huge omelet stuffed like home made; hash browns that covered half of an oblong plate; and best of all the cheese grits with "real" shredded cheddar cheese. A repeat visit is definitely in order.

Came to this restaurant again after a long time away. It is still a great place for breakfast! It’s an old school diner with lots of hot coffee, classic dishes, and my favorite; the Greek omelet! Great with tomatoes on the side. Not cheap, but a great alternative to the chains. Come early for a short wait or no wait at all.

Here we thought that the main draw was the great southern breakfast items, until I decided to try the lunch items, such as the greek chicken, musaka, lamb and was I wowed. Now I realize the gem; greek food as it was meant to be ....great texture and seasoned perferctly. What a dilemma.....breakfast food or greek luncheon. Well, there is always take out for later so why not both. And Demos, the proprietor, is a real gentleman. Yes,it is in a small shopping strip on Peachtree St....., which makes it a bit of a secret gem of the area.

Very unassuming restaurant with extremely friendly staff and super food- especially the pancakes! Extremely pleased with the whole experience.

The White House in Buckhead is one of those older establishments where the locals go for a good simple meal while either discussing the latest business deal, family secrets, or planning their next run for political office. Having been a regular visitor for breakfast, most Fridays for the past 24 years, other than the decor and obviously, increases in prices, little has changed. That's a good thing by the way. By the way, it will cost you about twice as much to eat as compared to a McDonalds, but definitely worth it. This is definitely not an "all you can eat" pancake place. Don't be affraid if you have to wait in line to be seated - usually never more than five minutes, and if a place is open, you just seat yourself. The building is located in an older strip of mixed shops just north of the split (Roswell Road and Peachtree Road) on Peachtree. You can take a seat at one of the booths or if you are a loner, a stool at the counter in this "shotgun" layout facility. Is there anything special about the food? No, not really. It is reasonably priced, great and friendly servers who rarely leave. Ella has been serving me for 22 years if that gives any idea of employment length. This kind of staying power in the restaurant business should, by itself, speak volumes about what people think of the establishment. For me, breakfast is the time to go and you will see anyone from joggers who have just peeled off the street from a run, to blue suited executives talking six figure deals, to the Governor or event a family with all of the kids in tow. If you are a visitor to the area, avoid the typical hotel or fast food breakfasts and visit the White House. By the way, as a side note, a friend of mine once bought one of their Hats and when pulled over by a small town cop while he was wearing the hat, he was let off with just a warning. He swears it had something to do with the hat, but we'll never know. : )

The White House Restaurant is a diner at its heart. Good food with tables and booths and a counter. Open for breakfast and lunch only. Has a little bit of a New York vibe but with Ya'll people and grits. Good menu. The only negative maybe its location in a small group of stores on Peachtree where the parking might be limited.

One of the great things about living in Atlanta, and in some proximity to Buckhead, is enjoying breakfast here multiple Saturday mornings each month with a longtime friend and foodie. From the grilled chicken omelette to the White House breakfast (with the french toast, country ham and eggs over medium), this Atlanta icon has served up wonderfully prepared, delightfully served diner fare since 1948. Perhaps "Foodie Buddha", in a 2009 review, describes the place perfectly..."the restaurant [sits] comfortably in a cookie cutter strip center on Peachtree marked by a truly bland facade. To put it another way, there is nothing about the place that will remind you of its presidential namesake, save for a handful of pictures of past Commander in Chiefs and some knock off presidential seals." The White House reminds me of the weekly delight of visiting another similar place as a child growing up in Orlando in the 1970s. Keep up the great work...and keep the coffee coming, Kimberly!

Classic real Atlanta restaurant. This is where Atlanta residents eat breakfast and lunch. Great service and freshly prepared meals. Expect a crowd, as this place is great.

Surprise! Surprise! Small place, cozy. A nice combination between American and Greek seasoning. Not a desert place but Burgers are incredible. Pork chop seasoning (Greek Style) . Very friendly staff, Ella was attentive and ready to serve you with a smile.

Started off when I walked in, like going back in time, the old school diners!! The waitress whose name was Kimberly was great, introduced herself right away, top notch, the coffee kept coming and folks the crowd was from every walk of life, I'm not native to the area so the grits were a no go but the BLT was huge!

Hello, my husband and I needed a quick place to grab breakfast this morning in the Buckhead area. He is a no-sugar vegan and I eat whatever. LOL. At first glance, the place looked a little old and outdated, but once we got settled in it felt like a Waffle House. I ordered 2 eggs, grits, toast and country ham. My husband order the oatmeal with everything on the side and coffee. All of the food was 'breakfast good'. Grits and oatmeal were smooth and creamy. Eggs cooked just right. What I was most impressed with was the service. Zoe was the server and she was very friendly and willing to answer any of our questions. Watching her interact with other customers, made me realize she had a heart for service. No matter how much people were running her back and forth she still smiled. GREAT JOB young lady!

Always enjoy the large selections of breakfast items.Their lunch vegetables are great too.Fresh vegetables each day.Parking in rear of building is free.

We were in Atlanta for a Braves game and always stay in Buckhead when we come. We don't like eating at chain restaurants/fast food when we're on trips. We always look for local places. We came upon the White House Restaurant which was listed online as being within a half mile of our hotel (Hyatt Place Buckhead) so we went to check it out. They close at 2:30pm and we made it about 2:15. This was in our favor (I'll explain later)! I'm rating this restaurant 5 stars primarily because of the service! It was the best we've ever experienced, and most genuine. They gladly accepted us even with them closing soon. The waiter was great! Very friendly, personable, and attentive. We also met the owner, who was wearing a U.S. presidential White House apron. He was the nicest person who we enjoyed having a conversation with! He wanted to also make sure our food was to our liking, and noticed my girlfriend had goosebumps on her arms so he turned down the air conditioner for her without us saying a word about it. Another lady, possibly the owner's daughter, brought us FREE homemade banana pudding and sliced watermelon with our meal! This was very generous of them and much appreciated! We ate it all (and the banana pudding was indeed amazing and just like she said it was...homemade!). They probably gave us these items because they were closing, but very few restaurants will ever do this. The food: it was all good! Nothing that I would get super excited about, but definitely a good, decent meal. It's not fine dining, but just an older family-run diner. I ate every bit of food they sat on my table! It looks like a classic American style diner, but it's actually Greek with all of the employees being the same family. I was told it's been there a very long time, and is extremely popular with the locals. Even 15 minutes before closing the place was half full. The breakfast menu (which is served all day till closing) is pretty much American. The lunch items are more so Greek. But they cook everything their way, and not like everybody else does. My scrambled eggs were great! My girlfriend loved her gyro pita too. Location: very close to all the hotels and the business center in the heart of Buckhead. Parking isn't great at all, but there's spots around back too. All in all, I will most definitely come back here when I'm in Atlanta again for Braves games! The service is unbeatable with good food and decent prices. With a place that has been open this long of a duration with such a huge following of patrons must be doing everything right! Be sure to eat here while in Buckhead!

My family and I go to the Whitehouse Restaurant almost every week. There is something for everyone-- breakfast- great pancakes and biscuts, eggs, etc, veggies, sandwiches and salades. The service is friendly and they try to be fast but it does get crowded on weekends. Great food. Love it!

Very small "New York" style diner with great breakfast / brunch options. We stopped by with friends after church on Sunday morning. We were greeted by the owners who took our drink order while we were waiting to be seated. We were a party of 6 and they were very accommodating to make sure we could sit together. Service was very attentive and the servers were all pleasant, Great feeling of a family operated diner. We will be back when we are in Atlanta again

Went here for lunch with co-workers and everyone was overly satisfied with the quality and portion sizes. The owner came to our table several times asking how everything was, and went as far as bringing out extra gravy for food, and finally our waitress who was very attentive brought us all out some complimentary banana pudding. Great experience and will be back next week.

Haven't been to the White House in years so we drove in to Buckhead to give it a try and glad we did. It was pouring this wet and very cold December morning so I'm very glad we found a parking spot right at the front door. More parking in the back if needed. The place was pretty crowded but we found a booth immediately and as we were sitting down, the waitress was already asking if we'd like some coffee. Wow! That was fast. I've seen some previous posts about unfriendly service but we found nothing but southern charm. Our food came out pretty fast but hubby sent his French toast back to be reheated. No problem but the waitress did seem surprised at the request. It came back hot. He ordered the White House breakfast which also included two (fried) eggs and some ham (or bacon or sausage) I really enjoyed my poached eggs (poached perfectly even though some restaurants have a hard time poaching eggs) with oatmeal and wheat toast. Good breakfast but husband remarked that he thought it was pricey for what we got. I think the bill was about $25 plus tip. Since we live up in Roswell, I'm not sure when we'll be back but I'd recommend this place to locals and tourists if you're in the area.

Easy eating in Buckhead, Atlanta's trendiest section of town. Can go through buffet or order from menu. Prices keep on going up, but food pretty good. Not great. Breakfast is fun because so many movers & shakers. City & business leaders.

Enjoyed a tasty breakfast here with friends and family. I had eggs, bacon and French toast, all of which were delicious. My sister also had a fresh fruit cup which had a really nice array of fruit. The service was friendly and efficient, and the prices were very reasonable. The owner even came over to see how we liked our food. I love supporting family owned places like this over chain restaurants whenever I can. I would definitely come back here to eat again!

The breakfast was exceptionally delicious. Especially the french toast and sausage! The staff were nice too.

The White House is a very old Atlanta restaurant. I went for my first time recently and will not be back. With the majority of their clientele being repeat business the service is not used to serving people who do not know what's on the menu. The food was cold. I will not be back.

Keep walking as there are much better options right down the road. Food is very greasy and the staff could use some training. We sat at the first booth by the window and we told our server that it was freezing, so her recommendation. Move to the booth right next to the one we were sitting in! Really? Also she said that the whole place was cool and that it would not make much difference. Thank god I went to the rest room as I walked toward the rear of the restaurant and it was MUCH warmer. We got up and moved and boy did she get an attitude. WE SHOULD HAVE WALKED OUT RIGHT THEN. The food was average at best. Keep walking as there are two breakfast restaurants just south of the place.

We stopped by for breakfast on an Atlanta road trip from SC. It was really crowded, which says good things about the food. However, they either need more help or need to have the current help pay more attention to their sections. We never got any refills on our coffee though our cups were empty. The food was tasty and hot, so that’s a good thing, but my eggs were not cooked to my request. I might give them another chance if we’re in town again.

The food was good. A little overpriced, but otherwise good. The service was good. The atmosphere is ok. It looks a little sketchy but it is good!

Today our family tried White House. The food was good and the service was quick. I had the gyro omelette which was very good. The grits and biscuits were just OK. The place was packed but we did not have to wait and the service was very friendly. We will definitely be back again!

White House is on our lunch list, and it is a step back in time for me. The old "meat and three veggies" is alive and well at the White House, and the crowd always diverse. Old and young, worker and retiree, you will see everyone here. Nice, warm service and a broad selection for lunch.

We had out of town guests who wanted a traditional ATL experience with some members wanting healthy fare. I called ahead to save us a spot for 10. We had a delicious meal and 10 happy customers.

Going back in time with just plain and good food! Loved it! Biscuits right from the oven, perfect eggs! Pancakes looked great!

Very friendly staff, consistent food quality and breakfast is always available. I will definitely visit frequently.

Looks are deceiving. Of course we all hanker back to an easier, homier time and seek out places like White House Restaurant. But don't be fooled. This place is not warm and fuzzy. As soon as the last bite of egg touches your lips, the woman server and her assistants are eyeing you with a nod toward the door. The coffee is awful and the potatoes are cooked in way too much grease. I truly wanted to like this throwback to the past. I just didn't feel welcome. And that was just the beginning.

Best ever waiter service by Kim , Food is like home cooking, delicious! Price is right! Place is super clean. Hidden jewel of Atlanta

We were wandering the streets looking for breakfast when a kind local in a Ferrari recommended the White House. I believe it's been a family run restaurant for 50 years and it shows in a positive way. The staff have obviously been providing great service for many years. For a pair of Brits this was the perfect diner for the famous American brunch and we weren't disappointed. Tried proper grits; we won't need to go there again?! Eggs any which way you want them, bottomless coffee. Just great.

This is place is good for casual lunches on the week and the weekend. Family style ambiance. It is a hole in the whole but the owner makes a unique place where people have a smile and service is always good. Food is very simple southern food with a Greek touch. Do not expect burgers or BBQ ( better places specialized for that in anyways) but you will find meatloaf, pancakes, greek plater, fried chicken etc... Cost varies from 7 to 12$ for lunch ( portion are generous) parking in front of the restaurant is limited but you can park at the back.

Great breakfast and lunch diner in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. Southern & Greek dishes. Very busy on the weekends.

We had breakfast here on the recommendation of the hotel we were staying at. The service and food were both very good. The prices are reasonable and our food was hot and tasty and the service was good. No complaints. We liked the White House and will be back.

I was looking to be wow'd based on other reviews. I wasn't. The food was decent; nothing to "write home about". I had the white house special with cheesy eggs and a side of grits with water. That was nearly $18 (including tax and tip). In all honesty and no disrespect, but it reminded me of food I can get from the Waffle House at a fraction of the cost. I most likely will not return.

Located on Peachtree Road near the heart of Buckhead, the White House is breakfast and lunch dinner that is very popular among both young and old. They serve a traditional breakfast with a southern influence. Be sure to try the biscuits and gravy. The grits a terrific as well. This a family run operation with great "down home" food. The staff is very friendly and most have worked there for years. Keep in mind, this is a diner. If you want a fancy breakfast, this is not the place.

Clearly good when you see the locals. Had a nice big breakfast. Staff was great. A little busy so waited a while. But very good

On our way out of town we were looking for a "best of buckhead" breakfast spot to visit. I highly recommend this restaurant. I had a gyro omelet and my wife had the hotcake with scrambled eggs. The omelet definitely had fresh veggies and I loved having gyro meat with my eggs for the first time. My wife really loved the hotcakes as well. The absolute best parts about our visit were the impeccable service and the banana pudding. It's a family owned restaurant and I could tell that they have a steady flow of regulars on Sunday morning/afternoons. The daughter took care of us and she did an excellent job! Last but not least, the banana pudding. Being a Greek restaurant, I was hesitant, but it is hands down the best banana pudding I've ever had. It was warm, perfectly sweet, tasted like it was made 10 min before it was brought to the table and one of the main reasons why I'll be back.

Solid breakfast and we were lucky and didn’t have to wait for a table. Service was very attentive. We all had an enjoyable meal/experience

Always a great meal! They have a great lunch menu too. Waitress staff are always friendly!! This place has been here for years!

You can’t get more authentic than this—a real, independent diner, in business since 1948, all except six years under the same owner (Greek, natch. The moussaka and gyro are among the giveaways). This homey place, in the heart of swanky Buckhead, is clean, quietly efficient, organized, affordable, has a retro feel, and seems slightly frilly due to the unexpected pinky-salmon color of the leather upholstery. Copies of the local newspaper and USA Today are laid out for sharing, there is a choice of counter stools, booths and tables, and service is fast (but not pushy) and friendly. My husband and I came in just before noontime for breakfast. My portion of French toast (with a choice of bacon or sausage) was huge and I added to the guilt by dousing it with maple syrup (although the consistency and taste were more like a maple substitute). His ‘eggs over medium’ were cooked just right, and accompanied by grits, toast, and sausage patties. Coffee cups are on the dainty side—none of those thick, unwieldy mugs here, thank goodness—but unlimited free refills of caf and decaf were always forthcoming. Our tab was around $22, so not as cheap, perhaps, as IHOP but a whole lot more atmospheric. I wished I’d ordered lunch after seeing the huge—and I mean HUGE—serving of meat and three being carried to a counter customer. The piece of baked chicken was mammoth and the collards, limas and rice were piled higher than a Sahara sand dune! Open from 6:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. weekdays, 8-2:30 weekends. PS I read other reviews just before posting this and saw that some customers had been offered free homemade banana pudding, even with breakfast. I wasn’t. I feel left out.

Fantastic area,a really quaint neighborhood diner, friendly owner greeted folks, our server was super nice and efficient offered complimentary banana pudding, lots of locals which is a good thing. So it had lots of promise, but found the pancakes unremarkable,no taste and pretty high priced for a short stack and sausage.Maybe other stuff was better

There is good reason why there is always a line and a little bit of a wait (well worth it!) at The White House. Classic breakfast diner with exc omelettes, French toast, pancakes, and breakfast meats. You can also eat healthy here too. Great food and quick friendly service

The service is top notch at this restaurant located in the heart of Buckhead. I had a ham and cheese omelette with grits and raisin toast. The omelette was tasty, raisin toast very good and grits were runny and bland. At $18 not including tip I felt it was rather expensive considering the other nearby options.

We went to the White House for breakfast as we normally do when we stay overnight in Atlanta. As far as a place to get in and out, it is hard to beat. It was the best value but food was good and it was convenient. We had a mixture of grits, omelets, eggs, pancakes, and toast - all good.

went in right as they opened. Had not been in 20 years. had the biscuits with some really good country ham and huge bowl of grits. The grits are so good. perfectly made just needs a little butter. I was having dental work done so order the pancakes to take home for later (soft foods) best pancakes I have eaten anywhere in Atlanta. big fluffy homemade pancakes that all you need is a little butter - no syrup necessary. Best flavor. I would go back just for the pancakes. Service was really good. Nice lady waited on me both times. Will not wait another 20 years to go back.

My husband and I brought my parents to White House Restaurant on their last visit to Atlanta. They absolutely loved it! They are originally from NY so this restaurant reminded them of some of the restaurants they went to when they were growing up. They said that they definitley want to make the White House Restaurant a place they visit each time they are in Atlanta.

My husband and I dined at the White House Restaurant for our second time this past week. The first time we ate at the White House was for breakfast and this time we had lunch, it was soooooo good. The food and the service cannot be beat, and all at a great price. We are so happy that we do not live far from this restaurant, as we absolutely can see ourselves coming here often.

Myself and three friends went here on Thurs. for lunch. This restaurant has been here for decades. Always excellent home style food with a Greek flair. They have banana pudding to die for. Always a great experience. Great fried chicken!

My husband and I were looking for a nice place for breakfast to complete our Buckhead weekend. Our hotel's concierge desk (@JW Marriott) highly recommended this restaurant. It's located in a shopping strip and very simple from the outside. Inside there are booths and some tables in the back. The style is diner type. The staff are very nice and friendly. My husband ordered the smoked salmon omelet and I have the chicken, biscuit, and gravy. The omelet was delicious and my dish was very filling. They offer everyone complimentary banana pudding....vey yummy. The restaurant may be family owned and you will feel like family as they welcome you with a smile.

Great food and great staff! Decor straight out of 1960s. I had a gyro omelet (because of the Greek roots of the diner) and the biscuit was amazing as well.

A great place for just good food. The prices are wonderful and the food is home style. This place has been around since 1947. The service is excellent. It is a diner and not fancy but for a good meal with great prices, this is the place to go in Buckhead section of Atlanta.

You`ll do much better for breakfast here than at the $35 breakfast buffet at the Intercontinental Hotel with as much food as you could possibly eat cooked fresh to order for no more than $15 including tip. A very busy diner located three blocks down from the Intercontinental, you won`t go wrong at any meal here -- not glamorous but safe and clean

Visited this place the weekend of August 5th. Really average breakfast at best. I had the "presidential breakfast" but it was lacking to say the least. The rib eye was barely seasoned and the eggs and grits were no better. And to top it off the soda and the service were very flat. This place better hire some better cooks fast. The only thing that saves this place is the location.

It was Sunday morning, we figured on waiting interminably, but NO, we were seated almost immediately while staff assessed options for us. Even thought it was very busy, we got our menus and food in a timely manner. The food was hot and very tasty.

Great place, good food. Friendly, fast service. This is a wonderful little diner, clean, comfortable with wonderful customer service that make you feel very welcome.

We went for breakfast twice on our two day trip to Buckhead, the feta cheese on elate was yummy. Very busy at breakfast time lovely atmosphere. Will go back.

Over the years I have eaten many meals at The White House on Peachtree Street in Buckhead (Atlanta). It is a small, family owned diner that always seems crowded. I actually ate their twice last week, once for lunch and again for breakfast this weekend. The lunch menu always features favorites like meatloaf and fresh veggies and that is what I had for lunch. It is also served with jalapeno cornbread or home made biscuits. And the always wonderful wait staff is always on the spot refilling a tea glass or coffee cup. The Greek owner is a kind, gentle and very friendly man who always takes time to greet and check on his customers. There are many "regulars" who eat here frequently and he knows most of them by name. He always makes guests feel at home in this lovely, old school diner adorned with photos of the beauty of Greece on the walls. For breakfast, you cannot go wrong no matter what you order. Omelettes, French toast, biscuits and gravy or good old fashion grits are always outstanding and usually served quite quickly. The only bad news is that parking can be problematic at peak meal times but there is parking in the back for those unfamiliar with the restaurant. Love this establishment and the warm and genuine ownership. The wait staff is like family too and many of them have been there for years. Wonderful place to dine and a great counterpoint to some of its glitzy restaurant neighbors.

We are building a house just down the street. So on a Sunday we were taking a family member to see the lot. We stopped by in the middle of the afternoon and some got breakfast and I got my favorite. I follow a gluten free diet. So, I was able to order chicken livers that were coated with corn meal. I also ordered collards, beans and a potato. I was living large. This is a family restaurant and it was well staffed. Don't be concerned it is in a strip mall.

I work at a hotel around the corner and i stop at this cafe once in a while and order an egg sandwich to go. On one occasion there was no love put in my sandwich, it didn't really bother me as all the other sandwiches were perfect. Today I ordered my usual sandwich to go, I mentioned my last experience not because I wanted a free sandwich but because I'm in the hospitality industry and that's the right thing to do. Boy was I blown away.....the owner/Manger personally wrapped my sandwich added a coffee to go and gave it to me on the house....it's Friday and this has made my day start right. I skipped to my car like a little girl running to the school bus. If you are in the buckhead area please stop in and have a bite. You will be pleased....

The White House Restaurant in Buckhead is a diner-type restaurant that has been around forever -- at its current location in a little strip center on Peachtree for several decades, and prior to that, it was located just a few blocks away. I popped in there for lunch today and was reminded how good their food is. Menu items are similar to two of my favorite places for "home cooking," Mary Mac's & The Colonnade, but it's less expensive, and THE FOOD IS REALLY GOOD! I'm going to have to stop in there more often. They're only open for breakfast and lunch. My waitress was efficient and nice, and I also chatted with a nice man who was probably the proprietor. He even served me some complimentary banana pudding for dessert! I found a free parking space right at the door, but there is also free parking behind the building. I'm going to work The White House into my regular rotation of lunch places.

My husband and I are going to be relocating to Atlanta in the next few months and while we were visiting there, I wanted us to have breakfast at the White House Restaurant. I had seen great reviews on Tripadvisor and it seemed really good. The reviews were very true, we had a very nice breakfast and great service there. It is definitely a place that the locals know about and so you know it has to be good. We will definitely be back when we get to call Atlanta our home town.

This was my first visit to The White House. The menu is quite extensive. We went for breakfast. I had 2 fried eggs, English muffin, & gravy. The gravy was delicious. The English muffin & eggs were cooked perfect. My wife had a fried egg, 2 pancakes, & hash browns. Everything was just perfect. The prices are reasonable. The service was not so great. The waitress messed up our order, otherwise it would get 5 stars

One of those places you have to go back to, over and over! The breakfast menu has everything you need to start a football weekend. I especially like French Toast or Biscuits and Gravey, (best in town). The great service is best dish however, with some of the friendliest service staff anywhere. You will feel at home and appreciated in this longtime family owned restaurant.

We stopped here based on reviews and so glad we did. Service alone was 5 star. Everything we ordered was great and they had 80's music playing ( my favorite).

We go to the Whitehouse Restaurant whenever we are in the Atlanta area. The food is good, fresh and inexpensive. Its a diner not at all fancy but delis food I have never had a bad meal at the whitehouse and the service very friendly.

On a recent trip to Atlanta, and after a disastrous first breakfast at a local chain, we discovered The White House. Their breakfasts were delightful with cordial and efficient service. Pancakes were light and fluffy. Oatmeal actually had texture and taste. Thanks for your service!

From the moment that you enter, you are welcomed with a warm greeting and smile no matter how busy it is. We went for breakfast, and not surprisingly, it was packed. Our orders were taken quickly, and although we waited a little longer for our food than expected, it was hard to fault the kitchen, especially when you can see them hustling to fulfill orders. Both of us ordered the White House Breakfast, which is the best breakfast deal in my opinion. With the breakfast, you either get two large pancakes, or three pieces of French toast. It also comes with three strips of bacon and two eggs cooked to your specifications. The diner's décor is somewhat dated, but everything is clean. Service is top notch as well.

I've been eating in the White House for many many years and by the way in case you're not familiar with it they have a fabulous breakfast in there as well. The meals are all homemade, vegetables and everything in there is fresh. I do recommend this place, it's really the Who's Who in Buckhead. It's a little bit pricey but it's worth it you'll never have a bad meal there. Demos the owner Is a real gentleman and don't forget to have The banana pudding.

This restaurant provides excellent and friendly service and has the mom/pop feel that does the heart good. I ordered the grilled chicken omelet, hash browns, raisin toast and a side of ham which was seasoned to perfection and had huge pieces of chicken throughout the egg. I really felt at home and even though the restaurant was extremely busy I did not feel annoyed or uncomfortable. I will definitely make a return visit when I am back in Buckhead. The wonderful service even included a sweet pastry treat surprise in my takeout bag. How wonderful is that?!

This place is a gem! Loved the service and the food. The roast Greek chicken was my favorite. Can’t wait to eat here again.

The White House is a Buckhead institution in the classic Greek diner tradition. I've only had breakfast here, but have on many occasions. It is one of my "go to" places for an early morning business meeting because it is an easy and convenient place to meet. The food is standard breakfast fare (e.g. eggs, omelettes, cereal, with the most exotic item being the Greek omelette) Preparation could be improved a bit (breakfast sauage would be better fried that cooked in the fryer and omelettes should be removed from the grill before the eggs begin to brown). That said, this is a place locals love, including me.

The food and service were great. I had Chicken and Biscuits & Gravy, my husband had Fried Chicken. The prices are low and the portions are huge. Very cool 1940's post-war diner. The only thing that was a little off-putting were the political signs out front; I'm not a Georgia voter, so I don't have an opinion on the races. Just didn't care for it. Will go back for more biscuits and gravy.

The White House has a great selection of food and is perfect for breakfast/brunch/lunch. The coffee is great. The servers, cooks and host are all very nice.

Well most of the staff seemed really friendly our waitress didn't seem to care very much. We had breakfast, just your average bacon and eggs. Nothing special.

Convenient location, friendly service. Kinda pricey, but not really bad.

Recent health score 90. Dating to 1948, this is one of Atlanta's oldest continuously-operating restaurants (it's been in the present location since the early 1970s). It was one of Atlanta's first "Greek" diners. It's not complicated here - breakfast and lunch 7 days a week, still a family operation, a very basic menu that contains most of the expected comfort items. Breakfast probably is their best meal. All that being said, one can see why the reviews are all over the place. The service can be a little inconsistent, and some of the servers have worked there for many years and perhaps they sort of like to have things their way. It's also somewhat pricey, and the parking is rather tight. However, recommended if you're looking for this type of food and place.

Great place. A Buckhead diner - an institution around these parts. The White House has been around FOREVER. It is like wallpaper to me. I rarely notice it., or have breakfast there (my normal spot is the more upscale Corner Cafe), but I am glad it is there. So I shocked myself by stopping for breakfast today and was pleasantly surprised. It's bigger than I recall it. Cleaner (no longer a greasy spoon). More up-to-date than I recall. Big, pleasant counter. Nice tables - and plenty of them. Good menu. Full of people. My experience was affected by the ditsy server who took my order for a breakfast sandwich and delivered me an omelette. The cook overheard the confusion and came up to me and asked me what I wanted, and immediately cooked it up, which was a good save. Don't expect to be amazed. It's just solid and good diner food. All in all, it was great to get reacquainted and I will definitely return.

The staff were friendly and the service good...the food was not as good as I hoped. I had breakfast for lunch and was not impressed.
Good ok, service lousy
Had heard good things about the White House and stopped for our first visit. It looks like an old style diner. The problem was most likely our waitress. She was very slow and inattentive. It was not just our table she was this way with, as I noticed. I ordered the White House breakfast and the best part was the French toast, which isn't saying much. My bacon and eggs were both cold and the bacon was poor quality. She never refilled my coffee until I practically had to trip her walking by. Overall, I would not recommend this place nor will I return.
