Excellent service &food

By KLHUsa |

We went for sunday brunch.I liked it all. Good food ,excellent service, and connected to the hotel and mall. The service was fast but no one rushed us to leave. We sat and had seemingly endless cups of coffee and great conversations. Our waiter was very enthusiastic with a great smile.

Not a "Galleria" quality restaurant.

By NicolePG123 |

I've done a lot of catering from this restaurant and the catered food was great. When I dined in the restaurant, it was not the same. Service was slow and food was not great. My husband ordered a burger, I think Red Robin makes it better. I ordered fish tacos. The fish was hard & bland. A better dining option would be the Cheesecake Factory. I was not impressed here at all.

Good food, Slow service

By Homero M |

If you like huevos rancheros this place is for you. Really tasty. Unfortunately the service is too slow. I mean, you have to hunt down the waiters to get more coffee or the check. If you have plenty of time to spare then I guess it's ok.

Great Deal for Houston Restaurant Week!

By vmgreene1027 |

Tried this place for the 1st time with a group of friends and it was wonderful! Large portions, great drinks and a meal I loved. I had the hummus and tried some of the meat and cheese plate as well and both were great to start, for the entree I got the stuffed chicken and it was a hit! Filled with spinach, tomatoes, spaghetti squash and more it was very filling, flavorful and enough to take half home...ended the meal with the smores bread pudding and I was one happy girl. Giving 4 stars cause some of the people in my party had the ribeye and weren't big fans...

Great customer service

By kamounts |

We were recently in the Galleria area. We decided to have breakfast here. The food came out just the way we ordered it and the taste was great. Our waitress, Sonia, delivered the best customer service I have experienced in a while. She continually made sure that we had what we needed and our cups remained full. This industry could use more people like her. Hats off to the cook and big props to Sonia. Anytime I am in the area, I will be sure and eat here.

Great Breakfast

By BMJSMT |

Protein breakfast omelet, housemade and delicious jelly, freshly squeezed juices. Waitor was incredibly attentive and polite.

Lovely service, great food

By Emma B |

I went for here by myself as a treat at the end of a business trip, sat at a nice little booth and my waiter was very friendly. I had steak with truffle chips and it was beautiful!

Weekly Breakfast Pre-Number Break

By NattyGas |

A group of us that work in the Galleria area eat breakfast here weekly. We receive a great value breakfast with excellent service. Our fantastic server Lupita, is our phenomenal regular server. She knows our orders by heart and provides us fantastic service. We would not eat there weekly if she was not there!

I'm torn

By travelbee500 |

I experienced excellent service here and it had a nice atmosphere but the food was horrible. I didn't even bother finishing my food. I just paid and left. I am big on service and this place had it, they just really need to work on the food!

Delicous

By Allie S |

Wow! I was blown away by the food at this restaurant. I couldn't believe a hotel restaurant could be so good. I had the steak BLT salad with some Parmesan fries. The steak was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. The fries were delicious and crispy. The best part of the entire dinner was the S'mores Bread Pudding. Holy cow. I could eat that every day, and I don't even like bread pudding. The marshmallow on top was perfectly melted and the chocolate and graham cracker inside was so delicious. Definitely worth the trip!!

Awesome Brunch

By Taylor M |

Great brunch with my wife who decided to spring on me that we were getting a new puppy...they joy. Anyway the food was great but I just kept thinking about the new puppy...

Great experience

By Berj G |

Very enjoyable experience. Excellent meal. Fresh and tasty. Great service, I will definitely come back.

Breakfast was good but a limited selection

By STeyes |

The salmon Benedict was good but I could not order a side of toast. The service was good. It would be good if they were more flexible.

VERY slow service

By Joann B |

I ate breakfast at the White Oak Kitchen, and both days took an hour from the time I got there until when I left. After being seated at my table and waiting for 17 minutes for someone to come over to take my order, I stood up in front of my table so someone would see me. After I ordered, it took 21 minutes until the food arrived. After finishing my meal, I waited another 10 minutes waiting for someone to bring the check. No one did, so luckily I had a voucher, which I put on the table and walked out. A person could easily leave the restaurant without paying.

Dinner Group

By 917carlc |

I'm a member of a dinner group of 10 to 12 people that meet once a month. August is Restaurant month in Houston in which participating restaurants offer a price fixed menu. Part of the proceeds go to the food bank. The food was excellent. I had the Fried Calimari and the Shrimp Pad Thai. The location of the restaurant is in the Galleria so it was a little cumbersome to get there unless you're staying at the Hotel or are shopping at the mall. Although the restaurant does validate valet parking at the Westin Oaks Hotel. I definitely recommend this restaurant. Service and food were excellent.

Gimme some green goddess...

By maybeitsthebeertalk |

Relaxing atmosphere and some great healthy options. Waitstaff was attentive and remembered what we ordered the following day. Loved the Green Goddess drink!

Good food

By Backtowork |

Ordered Zucchini frites as starter and it was very very good, crispy crumb and not very greasy, came with two dips both were good. For entrées we took pistachio crusted salmon and wok beef. Both were excellent. One starter and two entrees no alcohol $60.

Good, healthy food in the mall...what a concept!

By Brandi A |

We stopped here for dinner and I was pleased at the healthy options they had. Their kids meal menu was (blissfully) missing mac n cheese and pizza. My youngins did a little grumbling, but eventually settled on the chicken kabobs and they really liked them! The hubby had a steak and I had a gluten free pasta dish made with zucchini instead of pasta. For dessert we had the bread pudding, which was AMAZING. Defninatly worth stopping by if you're looking for some healthier options.

Small and unflavorful

By Heidi E |

This restaurant was accompanying for our 9 person group however the menu is very limited. I had the burger with egg and it seems a bit dry. The service was friendly and efficient. But so many more options in this area for a better selection.

Lifetime

By GuillermoGH |

I've been coming here since I was a baby twice a year on medical checkup. I love having breakfast here as I feel in home when I'm here.

Hungry and Disappointed

By BadGyalDre516 |

This place looked so cute. I thought it was going to be one of my go-to American Bistro places. I really wanted to like the food but it was very average. The zucchini frites for starters had no seasoning at all. Not even the aioli could save it. When you tell me "pistachio crusted" salmon, Im sorry, I have expectations and they were not met. I had the smores bread pudding and I was disappointed. Its just my opinion but bread pudding should be warm and my slice definitely came right out of the refrigerator. Well it was on my checklist. Check. Doubt I will return.

Lovely lunch. Fresh food.

By ReginaH |

My sister and I tried White Oak for lunch this week. Wanted to sit at a table and be waited on after shopping. So glad we picked White Oak! Seated right away. Waiter was great. Several things on the menu looked good. I had the pick 2. Food was fresh - fruit, chicken salad, cheeses and chips. My sister had the Pad Thai and was very happy with it. Will definitely come back.

Just an average hotel restaurant

By tgrdecker |

Typical hotel restaurant. Food was mediocre and the service was poor. Had to constantly get the waiters attention for coffee. After a big rainfall the ceiling was leaking, yet the sat people in close proximity to the leak. Ladder in the middle of the restaurant with nobody using it.

Breakfast

By andrea |

This restaurant had the best French toast that I ever had. Crispy in the outside moist on the inside. Do delicious. Andrew my waiter at the bar was very attentive. I also ordered the weekend mimosa. My children had the pancakes. One order can actually feed two small children. Very happy with the service. Only thing is the Orange juice tasted a bit stale.

Perfect for brunch

By Angie V |

I’ve been visiting this place since I was 15, now I’m 27, I love the quesadillas and the shrimp pad thai, also the green goddess juice! People are so nice!

OK for breakfast--service not so great

By reddytogoDallas_TX |

This restaurant is part of the Westin Oaks hotel in the Houston Galleria. I stayed at the hotel on business and went here for breakfast. The food was OK--I had eggs benedict. I did not like it served on toast instead of an English muffin but it tasted OK. They seemed to be understaffed. I waited several minutes to be seated--no one at all was at the front of the restaurant at 7:15 am and I was the second guest in the restaurant. Surprising for a breakfast service. Overall, the food was acceptable, service was mediocre. The atmosphere was nice but hard to really appreciate given the other shortcomings. I would have been just as happy with an egg mcmuffin.

Overpriced Continental Breakfast

By Saben7 |

Went for breakfast after staying at the Westin Galleria. We had 1/2 off vouchers from the hotel which with the vouchers the cost was equivalent to the price you would pay say at iHop or similar. Pancakes tasted premade (frozen), scrambled eggs tasted like the powdered kind you add water to, the potatoes were bland, dry and chewy like buffet style, bacon, coffee and juice were fine. Basically this breakfast is equivalent to a buffet breakfast in a cheap hotel. Wait staff were very friendly. They are the ONLY reason I do not rate this a ONE. Save your money and go to iHop or Cracker Barrel. Much better, home-cooked breakfast.

Very Disappointed...

By cdh713 |

Went with friends (party of 4) for HRW. Made a reservation and were seated on time. Waited 20 minutes in our booth, no service whatsoever. Finally flagged someone down, asked for menus & water. Took 10 more minutes to get these items. Granted, they were busy, but service was ridiculously non-existent. Finally got our food orders placed (which was an ordeal- were told that we all had to do either lunch OR brunch, couldn't mix the 2 meals- then, magically, we could), waited even more. Food arrived, no silverware... Underwhelmed by food. It had potential, but almost all of it served cool or cold, not even warm... Very disappointed. Took us over 3 hours to eat brunch/lunch. And when we asked about validating our parking, the server told us that the person up front would take care of that... Asked up front and were told that they "didn't validate on Sundays"... Really?!? That would have been nice to know. So $15 for parking on top of a $100 food & drink bill (for 2 of us). Totally not worth it. Will not be back and would not recommend. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars rather than 1 is because the gentleman who finally did end up serving us was trying very hard. They were understaffed and chaotic. Not his fault, but a very bad experience overall. :-(

Houston Restaurant Weeks

By Megan T |

I had the pleasure of eating here for Houston Restaurant weeks. The food was delicious- there wasn't a thing I didn't like. Honestly, you get A LOT of food for a super reasonable price. The waiter was attentive and accommodating for my friend who has food allergies. Overall, I would definitely come back especially if that meant I got to eat the smoked salmon Benedict again.

Another HRW hit!

By Marg02013 |

This is my third HRW dining. White Oak Kitchen did not disappoint! The food was great. There were three courses. I started with the fruit salad then Huevos Rancheros. We wanted the French toast for the third course but they were out of it. They kindly allowed us to select from the dessert menu. We chose the brownie which was to die for. We'll definitely return.

Great food and Atmosphere

By atlmichelle4571 |

You can't even tell your in a mall honestly. The food and atmosphere was wonderful. The restaurant is more on the quiet side during the week and it was perfect for a business dinner. I had the steak frites and the steak was perfectly cooked and the fries were crispy and really really good. My only complaint is that the wine by the glass was $14 and the glass wasn't' even close to half full. I've had many glasses of wine through the years at restaurants and I'm pretty sure a restaurant pour is at least half full.

😍Omg loved our first dinner here!!!

By MamaC |

Stopped in at this restaurant after going on line to look at Galleria Mall eateries. Nice quiet restaurant with comfortable seating. Sat promptly. Waiter came soon after seated. Took orders quickly. A little slow to get food out of kitchen. OMG the crispy chicken and macaroni was to die for!!!! I didnt want the sauteed kale so i asked for something else and was a couple other choices and took pureed cauliflower yummmm😁Wish i had room for dessert. But honestly meal was amazingly delicious!!! Colleague had seafood linguine but she said it was hard to find the crab in it. Prices were extremely reasonable. I would eat there again for sure!!!!🌹

Great Service! Fantastic Hummus!

By MimiSTL |

I went to the White Oak Kitchen and Drinks for a business dinner! The server suggested the Hummus and it was fantastic! A nice blend of hummus and pepper! I had the Shrimp Pad Thai for dinner. It was quite good! I would return!

Nice place. Accessible from Westin hotel or attached mall.

By tempsc |

Good range of dishes a a decent price. Had to remind the waiter that he had only brought 2 of the 3 coffees ordered. An easy mistake to make. No issues.

Breakfast

By alfaros4252 |

They give great service and treat you very well. They staff is very friendly. I highly recommend this place. Their kolache is very fresh. It's very spacious and a nice place to hangout. I would definitely go there again!

Chicken & waffles Bliss

By 1HollywoodAngel |

I'm from the South. Let's just say this restaurant was beautiful and made my 16 friends and I comfortable. Of course I got the chicken & waffles and macaroni and cheese. Great food selection and confidently located in the mall. Shopping + food is a win win for me.

Last call at 10 pm

By SHTexas |

This restaurant is also the 'restaurant / bar' for the Westin Oaks hotel. The food and service is excellent, but if you check in late to the hotel and want a drink... know that the place closes at 10. The hotel does have 24 hour room service, so you can have food / drinks delivered to your room.

Brunch

By Lorr |

As we were shopping at the galleria, we came across this place. First time we have been in here and I must say we had an excellent brunch there. Things a little different on the brunch menu than the norm. I had fried chicken and my husband had the pistachio encrusted salmon. Both meals were tasty and very nicely presented. It was not too busy and the the staff were pleasant, defiantly will go back.

Great food

By GLENDA R |

I had a great lunch at White Oak. I had a burger with no bun and sweet potato waffle fries. It was just the right amount of food and the price was reasonable. The waitress was pleasant, quick, and efficient. I couldn't ask for more for a business lunch.

Good, but not what we expected

By Jays911 |

We booked for a Christmas Day brunch for our party of five. We arrived at one, only to find out there monger any breakfast items available. There was a 3 course "brunch" menu for $45, but the three course menu didn't fit our tastes. We thought about going elsewhere, but didn't. Good choice. Our choices were all excellent. One had beef and veggies from a wok. Very tasty. The steak salad was also a hit. I enjoyed the gluten free burger, served in lettuce wraps, with onions, pickle, and bacon, and served with chickpea frites and horseradish aioli. My wife enjoyed her Santorini shrimp salad, and my daughter enjoyed her grilled cheese with squash soup. Not one bad or off dish. Service was good, and they have complimentary parking at the Westinghouse Oaks, attached to the Galleria, and where the restaurant is located. Prices are fair. Glad we stayed.

Great lunch spot

By Kathryn H |

White Oak has a great variety menu, but I have to say that they make some of the best homemade soups in town. Their minestrone, chicken and vegetable and tortilla soup is to die for. They have a different soup everyday, so if that is what you are after, call first to see what they have that day. I go about 3 times a month.

I ate here three times in one weekend and I have mixed thoughts on the place

By Ckethley |

I have to say, I really wanted to like this place. I wanted to be able to give a glowing review, but I just cannot do that. We had a company function here and I ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at White Oak over the course of 4 days. The dinner was outstanding. Not over priced. Not too "foo-foo." The drinks were tasty. The lunch was about average, and a little over priced. However, the reason I cannot give a great review is because of the $78 breakfast for three. We all had the eggs and meat plate. Two coffees and three OJs. I added avocado to mine. So all in all, it should've cost AT THE MOST $45. Again, I really wanted to say great things, but all I can say is, go somewhere else for breakfast.

Very good food

By DdeKerf |

The menu of White Oak is limited but the value for money is really good. I had the pig and breadpudding and was very pleased with what was on the plate and how it tasted. For sure something to try if you do not want to spend lots of money but still crave for nice comfort food

Make up service

By Phillipsr1323 |

Thanks to Qiana, she made up for the not so great experience on our first visit to white oak. Over all the food and service were great. As while as the drink Qiana recommended.

Nice inside, staff friendly, food average, music too loud

By spangle1 |

Visited this restaurant during Houstons Restaurant Week for lunch. Restaurant inside very nice, not too bright, not a fan of the cutlery, knives awkward in the way they rest. Music was way too loud for lunchtime chatting, we asked for it to be turned down, which it was for a while, so we moved tables but it was loud in the new location too. Eventually the music became more tolerable. Considering the age group of others in for lunch also at the same time, this was not a place where loud music would be expected at this time of the day. Our server was excellent, he did a good job. The zucchini fritter was nice, Tortilla soup ok, burger with kale very nice, beef & rice, average, cinnamon bun with ice cream huge but would have been better served warm. Serving it cold made the bun a little dry. Generally a nice place to have lunch whilst out shopping, the staff did a good job but the food we had just average.

Great Food and Amazing Service

By ilgarza03 |

From the moment we walked in the service was great. Greeted and sat promptly and held a good conversation with our server and provided many food options. Really enjoyed the overall experience and will be back.

Breakfast

By Tammy Y |

Breakfast was good service excellent. I visit Houston a lot for business every time I go to this restaurant food always good. This time an associate name Helise helped me a few times and so was awesome. She gave outstanding service and has the most pleasant smile.

spotty soemtimes good and sometimes you leave without ordering

By Cynthia U |

since i have had some good experiences here will give a 3 instead of -1 of my last visit where i literally did leave without ordering

That cinnamon roll though!

By enkaufman |

This place was awesome! I am lactose intolerant and they double checked all the ingredients for me so I knew the food was safe (which doesn't happen very often). The waiter was super attentive and the food was AMAZING! They even had a vegan cinnamon roll that was delicious. You should go!

Two Thumbs Up

By quiche_kishhh |

Happened to be in the area and our first choice was closed for a private party. I googled happy hours in the area and White Oak popped up. I called the restaurant to confirm the happy hour details and to get more information on where to park. White Oak offers complimentary valet through the Westin Hotel which is so convenient. The restaurant validates the ticket. Now for my happy hour experience...They had $3 beer so that's awesome. The bites were delicious. We had the chicken quesadillas and calamari. The bartender was so hospitable; so friendly and accommodating.

Excellent food!

By Christina M |

We had breakfast at this place a couple of days ago and it was pretty good!!!! The place is nice and comfortable, service is good and the food was delicious!!!! I recommend it a lot!

Great food in the Galleria

By onebigfamily |

During my stay at the Westin Oaks Houston Galleria we had brunch here. The food was delicious. We also got breakfast to go the day before and it was just as good. Yes, it us very pricey. But you are paying for convenience. The staff was very friendly and helpful both days. My girls are fancy eaters (12&17) and loved both their meals and food left over to travel back to Mansfield with. Would definitely eat there again.

Great breakfast!

By ddsmom90 |

We were staying near the Houston Galleria and wanted to start the day with a delicious breakfast. White Oak Kitchen did not disappoint! The cinnamon roll was delicious and one in our party had the huevos rancheros which was wonderful. Also had a Nutella French toast- yum! Would definitely dine here again. Would like to try the dinner menu. $$$

Better than expected

By Amy C |

I was reluctant to try this restaurant after seeing some reviews that really bashed the place, but I was pleasantly surprised. We tried the fajita nacho's and lamb sliders, both of which was very good and filling. The sliders came with truffle fries, they were really good. And the smoked mac and cheese was tasty as well. The portions were large and the service was good. I wouldn't mind trying out their Sunday Funday brunch!

Upscale Mall Restaurant with mixed menu

By johan6688 |

We learned that there is two Westin places in the Galleria. The restaurant is located close to the ice rink. We were a larger group having dinner in the restaurant. The menu is mixed with dishes from South America, Asia and the US. I tried the Salmon starter and the Pad Thai. Both were good. Service was ok. Compared to the fast food places, White Oak Kitchen is a full restaurant. Prices are mid-range

Welcome lunch group of 6 for a new employee

By Kim M |

Dixie took care of our table and was very courteous, informative when asked questions, made us feel like we were her only customer. Wonderful lunch was had, tasted great!

Enjoyed the Beef Nachos

By C W B |

Ate here twice on a recent trip to Houston. Once on a Friday (Oct 25) and again on Sunday (Oct 27). Had the beef nachos the first time and returned to enjoy them again. 12 loaded tortilla chips were enough for the two. (we were having large dinners both evenings so we didn't want a big lunch) The nachos are $13. Soft drink (with refills) was $3.35 and a glass of Seaglass Sauv Blanc was $11.00. Service was good and the restaurant has WiFi. On our 2nd visit we were seated underneath the speaker and the music was load. They were very accommodating when we asked to move.

First Meal in Houston

By JamiesonR |

After perusing the Galleria Mall, this restaurant offered delicious food, quiet environment, and excellent service. I ordered from the 'Date Night' menu which offered a three course meal. I had the Chicken Pot Stickers, Shrimp Pad Thai, and Cinnamon Roll. From arrival the staff was attentive, and my waiter Luis ensured that the different courses brought out when required. I strongly recommend anybody visiting the Galleria, and is looking for food without any hassle to visit White Oak Kitchen + Drinks.

Excellent for business

By Leandro G |

Excellent restaurant and bar inside the Hotel in connection with the shopping Gallery next to Louis Vuitton, overlooking an ice skating rink

Three Times in a Row

By SandBetweenMyToes007 |

I was attending a training at the Marriott and we had 90 minutes for lunch and typically I end up eating at the same place, boring. But not so at White Oak Kitchen. The menu was so diverse that I ate there every day for lunch and ordered something different each time and so did my two friends so between us we ordered 9 different dishes and everyone was delicious.

Omelette with arugula and berries on the side

By ranaqueretana |

Superb and healthy breakfast...the omelette was great, smoothies tasty and fresh, service phenomenal. A must while in the iconic galleria!

Can't say enough great things about White Oak

By 1914jamyv |

I had brunch today with my son and his wife at White Oak Kitchen in the Galleria today. It was our first visit there. Thought you might like to hear a positive review. All of the dishes we had were amazing. I had tortilla soup, huevos rancheros and cinnamon bun. The soup was just okay but the huevos ranchers are definitely something to brag about as was the cinnamon bun. My son had a plate with pita and cheese, mushroom (I think) burger, and French toast. He loved the kale and the burger. We love challah French toast and again a dish to brag about because yours was right up there with our homemade version. My daughter-in-law had the fruit bowl with rose water, stuffed chicken and blueberry pancakes. She enjoyed the flavor of the fruit, the chicken looked like the skin was crispy (something I love) and the pancakes were a perfect way to finish the meal. April was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu. There was a staff member, a busser I think, who also attended our table. I had a chance to walk around the restaurant while looking for the restroom and got to see many of the dishes being served. Next time, chicken and waffles for sure!! Although, the huevos rancheros are worthy of having them again. I just finished off my leftovers, so with a full and content stomach, I say thank you.

Brunch to celebrate newlyweds

By johrene |

My expectations were exceeded!! The service was fantastic for a group of 24 people!! The food, every individual dish, was great! I would do this again in a heartbeat!!

Nice for a quick lunch

By Peter N |

The White Oak Kitchen is right inside the Galleria Shopping Mall but it is not a food-court eatery -it is on the top floor of tge mall and has a slightly more formal setting than those on the court. It is good for a sit-down chow or just to grab a takeaway. Decent lunchtime fare; nothing too fancy but quite kind to the palate.

Nice but expensive

By eduardops60 |

It's a pretty good alternative specially for breakfast if your staying at the Westin Oaks. Food, service and ambience are perfectly find. A bit pricey though.

Business lunch

By prissywanderlust |

This place unlike all the tourist ridden mall traps is actually a nice atmosphere to have a business lunch. They have great lunch specials where you can try multiple items . The service was great and food was prompt. The lemon dressing was amazing try it .

No taste plain and simple

By redbenamar |

Just went in for lunch, had a chicken wrap that had no flavor whatsoever..I mean none...employees behind the bar had no clue... I am sure they were hard working and trying but needed training... Salt shaker had dried up ketchup for a few days back... I got outa there quickly ... After spending 40 for lunch.

Great food

By RhondaB |

The bison burger was amazing. My waiter was very patient with my many modifications...(no bun, sub butter lettuce for arugula, no onions, sub salad for fries & potato salad) & my food arrived exactly how requested. The menu is not extensive but there are a few more things I’m going to try during my stay in Houston.

Excellent service and great food

By Yara88 |

We had a lovely diner at White Oak Kitchen, the staff was very attentive. The food was really lovely. My partner had a burger and I chose the squash spaghetti with salmon, which was just delicious!

Breakfast for Champions

By angeliquevancamp |

Enjoyed a delicious breakfast of Green Goddess Juice, Upside down corned beef hash with Challah Bread, Bacon & Egg Quesadillas. Service was near perfect except maitre'd was busy having a coffee and not at her station ready to receive guests - everyone else was brilliant. Food was delicious and served on hot plates.

Brunch!

By NDaoud1024 |

Went here for brunch on a Sunday morning. The mimosas and food were AMAZING! Quick service and very good breakfast.

Great Breakfast!

By CherylhHomerGlen_IL |

This is not your typical breakfast. They had interesting omelets and all kinds of organic dishes. The fruit was so fresh. Fresh juices. The tea selection was great. We went here with the family. Everyone was happy with their food. Service was great. It was nice that all the servers help each other so you are never left unattended. Really good.

Best service

By Tammy Y |

like to visit this restaurant every time I'm in town. Very good service especially from a lady call Lupita. She has been the best ever. Always go an extra mile to give the best service. Definitely recommend to friends and family.

Sunday Brunch experience

By Teryn_LLGT |

My friends and I had a large party so when White Oak was able to take a reservation for us we were extremely pleased! It's a little pricey though, but the mimosas are $5 or $15 for a pitcher so great price for that. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and side of hash browns. The pancakes to me were extremely dry and the centers were weighed down by blueberries. I had to drown my pancakes in syrup to eat them. The hash browns were tasty but only the top of them were crispy, the bottom didn't seem cooked. Was pleased with my visit, but unsure if I will return because of the price and quality of the food I had.

average

By veer sagar s |

the quality of the food was very average. There was almost no choice for vegetarians. The service was good

Best Egg Benedicts in Houston

By David S |

I have been eating here since I was 16. I am now 55. The eggs benedicts have been and are consistently the best in town. I have also had the same waiter who has been there all these years - Francisco! I appreciate his ervice and attentiveness. And I appreciate a restaraunt that is professionally managed and keeps its wait staff decades later!

Lunch with coworkers

By Pierce K |

The chicken was juicy and tender. Coworkers enjoyed their lunch as well. Bison burger, salmon toast, and salad were all good meals. Will visit again.

dinners and lunches review

Have been coming to Twin Oaks for several years especially eating at the bar. Its the best place to eat because ROBERTO and LUPITA are the best. They make my experience eating so pleasant, I only come when they are here. Great atmosphere

Poor service, overpriced brunch

By Txtnk |

The best thing I can say about White Oak is the appearance of the restaurant. Aside from that, there were not many redeeming qualities. We had Sunday brunch (party of 2). We were seated quickly, after that, nothing occurred in a timely manner. We waited ten to fifteen minutes for someone to take our drink order, another ten to receive the drinks and take the food orders. We never received water that was requested at the time of the drink orders, despite asking for this at least four times throughout the meal. We had checked the Sunday brunch menu online, but this was not the menu being used in the restaurant. They were instead using a "weekend brunch" menu, which had very different options. I ended up having waffles with Nutella and strawberries. This consisted of 3 quarters of a waffle with some Nutella on top and a total of 1 and 1/2 strawberries cut in quarters. This cost 13 dollars. I also had a glass of diet coke for 3 dollars that no one was willing to refill despite several requests. The service was absurdly slow considering the restaurant was not at full capacity. And the server seemed almost inconvenienced to be asked for anything. We remarked while there that we should have simply gone downstairs to La Madeleine. At least there I could refill my own drink when I ran out. I would happily pay the prices if the service was on par, but it was not worth the experience at all. We would definitely not return. There are ample choices nearby for brunch that would be better options.

Great for a quick breakfast... And close to the Westin Oaks

By GB_InTexas |

Had to have a quick breakfast while staying at the Westin Oaks Galleria, and popped in to this place. I asked if we could have easily a quick breakfast and they were great. Robert our server took care of us. Had eggs bacon and a chicken sausage which was quite tasty. Coffee was Starbucks brand Will be back. Appreciate the quick service.... Now got to rush to the airport

Good food for being in a mall

By jfreder96 |

Went here for dinner a few months ago and the food is pretty good. It is part of the Westin and is hard to find, but definitely worth the effort.

Great food and atmosphere

They meals are very tasty, not too big as per some other chains, however filling. Great variety of food as well for everyone. All at very affordable pricing. You also cant beat the Happy Hour deals!

Need a Quick Meal?....Try the White Oak Kitchen in the Galleria In Houston

By el2041 |

Need a quick and tasty meal? Try the White Oak Kitchen. It's located in the Galleria near the Westin Oaks Hotel. I believe it is a part of the hotel although it is located outside of the hotel on the 3d floor. I had two delightful and delicious light dishes that were moderately priced that tickled my taste buds. Try the Crunchy Chicken Salad and tortilla Soup...also the Wok Beef and Shrimp meal. These were great meals on the go and in a hurry to attend my convention. Atmosphere is open and pleasant. As a convention member of a 13,000 crowd, it was a convenient choice being so near my hotel.

Quality food when you need a shopping break

By SarahElizabeth2015 |

This is one of my break places when I’m shopping at Galleria. The food is very good with excellent, attentive service. Usually I’m not there at the height of lunch hour so I can also seek out one of the tables with nearby electric outlets so Can use the break for phone charging as well. Considering the lunch menu, it’s not that easy to find something particularly suited for those who follow a ketogenic eating plan, but in this regard I can recommend the BLT salad, which is basically a stacked salad with alternating layers of tender grilled steak slices, a nice variety of lettuce, beefsteak tomatoes and crispy bacon with a vinaigrette dressing, which is delicious. If I’m eating some carbs nonetheless then I will get the calamari, which is chewy and comes to the table quite hot and with a crust that has been nicely salted. Relative to the restaurant options at Saks and Neiman’s (both of which are good), the atmosphere is a bit more chill and compared to Neiman’s, you don’t face a 3 pm closing.

Expensive

By BarbaraSS |

Breakfast for 2 - $44.90. Ok, it's in the Galleria and the restaurant for the Westin Oaks Galleria. But the food was eh - eggs benedict (not runny) and bagel and lox - had to ask for more cream cheese and tomato. So not worth it.

yummy plantain chips

By laidbackinthesun |

as a vegeterian, these were delicious as I ate them like fries. =) For a nice portion, they were like $4.00, to me, not bad for something healthy. They were served with salsa. So good.

Trifecta of food, service, and atmosphere!

By David L |

I just love eating here because the management has done such a great job of ensuring the customers experience the absolute best. From the food and atmosphere to the service - it is all so polished and thoughtfully organized. I would recommend this to anyone for any occasion. If you do come, I recommend asking for Sonia to be your server. She is so thoughtful, genuine, and kind. I attribute this to obviously her character as a professional and person but also to the restaurant that helps promote this kind of kindness in their employees to show through.

Nice Option in a see of fast food options

By Mark S |

I enjoyed a very nice steak and drinks at this restaurant, located in the Houston Galleria Mall. Prices were very good (literally half of the high end steakhouses: $31 for a NY strip) and my steak was excellent. Nice atmosphere and family friendly. A fairly small operation - the chef came out periodically to check on folks dining. That was a nice touch!

Handles large groups well

By Wildflower01945 |

We were in a large group (about 50 people) and the White Oak Kitchen did a great job of feeding us and individually billing us. I'm not sure if we got the regular menu or a large group menu. There were several people who were vegetarian or vegan and there were also children. This restaurant accommodated it all very well!! They also attended to people straggling in by taking their orders almost immediately. Everyone was served as their dishes were ready. This worked for our group. We were divided between several tables and had several waiters. I got the chicken and shrimp pad thai and it was good, though spicier than I have ever had it. The shrimp were shelled, the chicken ground and the dish also contained tofu. If I had thought about it I probably would have added vegetables as this did not contain hardly any. If you found this review helpful, please press thank below.

Excellent service

By Tammy Y |

Visited white oaks for breakfast had breakfast. Outstanding service from a server named Lupita Reinoza. I will definitely be going back! Every time I visit Houston I had to go back to this place service always outstanding, no disappointment.

Better and chill then other places in the galleria

By leehamilton2017 |

Good eats, chill service, good dive. I would recommend this place over any in the galleria because it relaxed and foor is good and their no fruit files like in Peli Peli.

Great break from shopping, great service

By ORD-TGU |

I visited White Oak because it was connected to Mall and Hotel. I really liked that after a lot of shopping in mall, we had a great meal. The waiter was great. The manager stopped by to ask if all was ok. The food was also delicious. Overall a great meal. Good to know is that the restaurant validates for free valet parking at the Westin.

Far better choices

By TraveLotsnLots |

The price of the food overshadows everything else. The food is your average bar food that doesn't have much taste and is so over priced it's ridiculous. It is no wonder the place seemed nearly empty all of the time.

Food is left to be desired

By Darlene P |

We ate there with 6 other people. Our Steaks came out well done after we ordered them Medium. It took forever. The food was not very good and the service - well lets just say we hardly ever saw our waitress and the place was empty. The manager did graciously recook our steaks - but by that time we were done and did take that charge off our bill.

Fine for a quick bite

By Jason T |

The food was OK, but the ambiance was not great. Alarm bells rang when we sat down and the waitress dropped two plastic straws on the table. The person who served me should be working at McDonalds. Sorry, but she could not have cared less. But the food was quite nice and well presented. Given that it was presented as the Westin's restaurant I expected much better.

Friendly service

By vicki h |

Everytime I visit White Oak Kitchen + Drinks, I always get amazing service and greeted with a warm smile and friendly hello. Lupita and Edward work on the morning shift and have always taken care of me when I visit. I visit there for food for co workers birthday and they have always helped me. Being going here for a while but always asked how everything is going and treated like family. Love the employees.

I have eaten here multiple times during my stay food is great

By Richard J |

They have my favorite item Allen's Fried Chicken! I know that may not be what most people look for when eating out but it is hands-down the best chicken I have ever had.

Quick bite

By Francisco G |

Very nice happy hour menus and drink options. Great atmosphere and nice layout. Food was tasty and in good proportions.

Definitely go here instead of Cheesecake!

By Jason A |

We were hungry and most places were closed at 9 at the mall. So we were resorting to Cheesecake, but they had a 20 minute wait. Luckily I found White Oak. No wait and MUCH better food for similar prices. I don't know why it wasn't busier. Great selection of chef prepared meals. Waiter was awesome, helpful, and funny. Too bad we go home soon or we'd be back! Highly recommend White Oak!

nice option for lunch in the Galleria

By clf27 |

We were looking for a place to eat lunch at the Galleria that was better than fast food and less than the $$$ and $$$$ restaurant options. My husband and I got the tuna salad sandwich on nice thick wheat toast with the choice of a side - he got a gorgeous large fruit salad and I got za'atar chips which I had mistakenly assumed where potato chips but were pita chips. The sandwich was just what I wanted. My daughter got Shrimp + Chicken Pad Thai which looked delicious. It had ground chicken rather than the sliced chicken she was expecting. We didn't realize until we went to the restroom which is out in the hall that the restaurant is part of the Westin hotel.

3pm Happy Hour

By samhwhite |

If you're significant other is shopping at The Galleria, White Oak Kitchen has a 3pm happy hour with $3 beer.

Dinner with family

By Fathima I |

The dinner was pad Thai and beef steak with rice both mains were too sweet :( Disappointed , even with Tabasco sauce the pad Thai wasn't good But the service was great .... They were very polite

Nice Restaurant with Tasty Food

By iraSmurA |

Went for lunch here last weekend with my friend after our shopping spree around the Galleria. The restaurant looks classy of brass and glass similar to the other restaurants at the mall. Yet, when it comes to service, I gave this restaurant two thumbs up! The Chinese lady who served us was very nice and friendly. She kept her smile on her face while serviced us the whole time. We order something with grilled salmon. The food was tasty. Although the food presentation could have been improved with a bit of garnish here and there on the plate, but well, if you don't mind about the food presentation, you got heaven for your taste bud.

Handy place for good food

By Graham H |

When shopping at the Galleria, there are large distances between decent eating places. The White Oak is a very handy spot for decent food & wine. They have an evening happy hour and "guilt-free" (low calorie) food options. Start with crab and avocado tower followed by "street tacos" or seared beef and shrimp. The latter comes with a spicy hot sauce to taste. It's convenient, quiet, comfortable and good value. It's just the job for shoppers, lovers or business associates. Give it a try.

Good Brunch, get there early

By ARose |

We came here for Sunday brunch and by 11 there was already a wait. Lucky for us, there was space available at the bar, but if you have a group of 4 or more coming for brunch, its advised to make reservations. White Oak is actually located in the Galleria mall under the Westin hotel. This makes it very convenient for shoppers and hotel guests. Truffle Buffalo Burger has been the best thing ive had on the menu. Their menu may seem pricey, but look at the convenience of the location. It if seems expensive, try to go during restaurant week in August and you'll find they have very good lunch deals. All of their ingredients are fresh and organic too, i think.

Best omelets ever created

By Michael M |

The White Oak Kitchen is tied to the Weston Oaks Galleria and is located between the hotel and the shopping in Galleria through a secure door that can b3 opened with your hotel room key. Restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, and full cocktail bar. .....great service.

A good place for breakfast

By eric j |

We used to have breakfast in this restaurante every time we travel to houston and stay at the westin oak because the healthy food is very complete and good price, i recommend it

Amazing

By LuckyKS |

It was a quiet relaxing dining experience. Xindi was attentive, friendly and seemed to have great experience with alcohol.

Galleria Gem

By Karla L |

I was in the Galleria for a shopping visit and heard that it was, "Restaurant Week" in Houston. My friend and I liked the look of White Oak Kitchen and went inside. I am so glad we did! The food and service were outstanding! We were seated quickly by a friendly hostess, and we were well taken care of by the very friendly Sonia as our server. She recommended the calamari appetizer which arrived hot and perfectly breaded and seasoned. I ordered the chicken fried chicken and my companion ordered the lamb burger. They were both filling and tasty. For desert we split a bread pudding that may well be the best I've ever eaten. I would definitely come back to dine here again. This place is worth a trip to the Galleria. Good food and friendly service is hard to come by these days, but we had both at White Oak Kitchen....a big thumbs up!

Expensive

By eduardops60 |

It’s an expensive cafeteria. The food is average and not worth it. There better choices around the galleria for food. I would totally avoid it.

Good.

By MarkD30031 |

Went here for a late dinner and the restaurant was not busy and food was very nice and service was excellent because we were one of the only 3 tables.lol

Brunch before shopping

By perthprecious |

This restaurant is located at the Westin Oaks and situated in The Galleria shopping centre. We were here for a brunch on Sunday while waiting for shops in the mall to open. It has a nice Weekend Brunch menu but the food was really ordinary. Nothing really special that we can say about except for the waffle. It was perfect. Light, well made and delicious. Not much of atmosphere inside. A little stale I must say. I'm sure the management can look into improving the decor and interior to make it more inviting. Also to be more creative in presenting their food. A little extra thing goes a long way! Service was fine. Staffs were attentive and helpful.

Quiet place to escape the mall for dinner

By creaghzy |

We visited during Houston Restaurant Week and took advantage of the special menu for that. Our server helped us with choices and we were pleased with everything. The salumi cheese board starter was great and was enough to share. We had the ribeye, stuffed chicken, and salmon with almond joy sundae and cinnamon roll for dessert. While I didn't have anything that I would go out of my way to have again, it was all fresh, properly prepared, definitely better than what I expected in a mall restaurant. It was a nice dinner away from the noise and crowd of the mall. Watermelon margaritas were also delicious. Service was great.

Surprisingly Not Bad

By Ann M |

After making a reservation (in the spirit of Houston Restaurant Weeks - HRW) and then reading some pretty negative reviews, I was afraid to be disappointed. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I enjoyed brunch there. From the HRW brunch menu, I ordered the mykonos fruit salad, the farmer's market plate, and the cinnamon roll. My SO ordered the "orange you glowing" juice, the chicken & waffles, and the blueberry pancakes. "Surprise" really comes into how I felt about all the dishes. Normally I hate fruit salads that come in any kind of syrup or juice; I think fruit is sweet enough on its own. Thus, I was surprised I liked the mykonos fruit salad; the lime juice added a nice touch, and it wasn't syrup-y in texture or sweetness (although I still think plain fruit is better). I was further surprised by my farmer's market plate; I was expecting to receive a few triangles of pita bread, a blob of hummus, and maybe a few carrot sticks or other banal veggie crudités. Instead, an enormous pile of nicely roasted and versatile veggies (zucchini, mushrooms, sweet potato, spaghetti squash, kale, tomato, red bell pepper) appeared before me, with really soft pita and a few spoonfuls of a paprika-heavy hummus. Lastly, the cinnamon roll--it was warm and sweet but nothing outstanding. It was missing the thick, gooey cinnamon swirl that is usually in between the layers of dough, which was disappointing. My SO said he liked the juice, as the beet & carrot flavor wasn't too overpowering as in some other juices. The chicken & Belgian waffle--I tried a bite of the waffle, crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, great flavor. He seemed to enjoy the chicken as well. The blueberry pancakes, however, were like the cinnamon roll in that they weren't bad, but they just weren't anything special either. The waffle was the best 'pastry.' We both really liked the coffee and the seemingly endless refills. Service was generally nice and attentive. Atmosphere wasn't too loud, at least at the time we went (9:30AM). I'm giving it a rating of 3 because some of the food was just average in flavor or was something I could have easily recreated at home for less $$. I'm glad I tried it, but since the location is not that convenient for me, I won't go out of my way to try it again.

Stayed nearby and grabbed a quick dinner

By tber |

Stopped in and plenty of tables for a Friday at 7pm. Good food, very comfortable environment. Drinks and meal good, nothing special but a nicer meal than the nearby food court in the mall.

weekend breakfast/brunch

By ScottEP |

Located at the Westin entrance to the Galleria. Friendly, attentive service. The avocado toast and the yogurt parfait are recommended for breakfast. Coffe was very good, too.

Very Good Food

By bajathecat |

This charming little restaurant serves a very good breakfast. The waitstaff is quite friendly. My only complaint is getting the attention of the server after the food has been delivered. While staying at the Westin Oaks, I had breakfast here daily. Same issue during each visit. But, I would go back for the tasty food.

Dixie is awesome!

By Ana R |

While their Mexican breakfast are great, Dixie (our waitress) was the best! She is super friendly and helpful.

Perfectly good

By Tom R |

Good standard American fare. Nothing amazing but if you need a burger, some fries and a few happy hour beers after you land from a longhaul flight then it is perfect.

Hotel Breakfast

By TravellingSiepens |

We ate here many mornings and enjoyed the fact that the restaurant would let us tailor our breakfast to our liking. Service was good although patchy depending on who was on and how busy they were. The only downer was the coffee (it was terrible) however it appears that this is how the locals like it :(

No passion

By Abdulkarim A |

In my stay at Westin Galleria this is my first breakfast.. a big disappointment.. waiters didn't show any passion in serving or being patient to get my order.. ended up ordering something flat without looking at the menu properly.. no water was offered like other restaurant.. !! I don't want to come again although the place is amazing .. hope staff change their willingness to be more inventing :)

Hotel coffee shop

By misha r |

Had no idea it was a part of the Westin, but between that and the mall it's in, you pretty much get what you expect. Service was ok, food pretty average, overall a decent in and out experience to break up the shopping.

Very good food in good location.

By Plane4Me |

This small restaurant is within the Westin Hotel in the Houston Galleria, and serves a very elegant brunch menu. It was very crowded when my family and I visited, but the servers and managers circulated with proper thanks for our patience during a rather long wait. I'm sure it was due to the Thanksgiving crowds. The servers go out of their way to be sure you are taken care of and get what you like, even if you want to tweak something on the menu to your own preference. I had an item prepared especially for me, as I can't eat some foods, and it was wonderful, with very gracious service. Other than the probably holiday-related crowd and slower service, it was marvelous food and I would eat there again anytime.

Pretty good. Food good. Reasonably priced.

By nodrama1 |

Overall a positive experience. I had the lamb sliders which were great. I sat at the bar on a Tues night and there were 5 other patrons eating at the bar. The restaurant is right on the galleria and so gets passing traffic. I was staying in the Westin Oaks and the White Oak seems to be one of the hotels' restaurants. Service was good.

Very good Southern food with a twist.

By Michael D |

Decided to go to White Oak after reading some of the TA reviews and on the advice of a coworker who was from the area. Was in town on business and had dinner with a business associate. After cruising the menu we decided to go with all small plates as they all seemed very intriguing and the entrees, well not so much. Had the Beignets which were outstanding. Great balance between shrimp and Beignet. The Pork Belly (which seems to be on the menu everywhere) was probably the best pork belly I've ever had (BTW my dining partner agreed). Melt in your mouth with just the right amount of smokiness. Perfectly matched with a bracing country mustard and nicely acidic tomato relish Pimento Cheese was good served with a perfectly crisp (if somewhat under seasoned) fried green tomato. Grits, probably our least favorite dish. Now being from the North I will not pretend to be an expert on grits but I have traveled and have had them a number of times. These seemed to be somewhat dry compared to the creamy texture I have had other places and the mushrooms where totally overwhelmed by the blue cheese. We also had the Pheasant. One of my favorite dishes of the night. The pheasant was cooked perfectly and the Apricot marmalade which was incredible was perfectly balanced by the crushed olive salad. Lastly we had the Oysters. Another very good salad. Oysters, again, cooked perfectly. We finished with the Goat Cheese cake- Outstanding and the Lemon Chess pie which was OK ad the shell seemed to be very hard. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall White Oak came very close to 5 stars but it's definitely worth a visit. And yes the place can be very loud, even when it's not full.

October 25 dinner

Sedate and pleasant dinner, excellent drinks and able to have conversation with guest without too much ambient noise.

Nice Restaurant in Galleria Mall

By Wesley C |

Very nice restaurant in the upscale Galleria Mall. On lower level near ice rink. Had Chicken Fried Chicken with jalapeño pork belly gravy, corn fritters and mashed potatoes. Was very tasty except the fritters were too dry. No photo of the food.....my phone had a temper tantrum. Full service bar. Good food -- decent prices -- helpful servers.

It was OK....

By tnantx |

We went here rather late on a Tuesday. We used Open Table to make the reservation so that was convenient. We did it more for the points than for the actual need. There was one other person in the restaurant. The place is located in the Galleria mall. It is sort of near the Ice rink if that helps with directions. The hostess was also our waitress, which she found out after she told us someone else would be serving us. No biggie, she was friendly. I got stir fry, spouse got some form of burger and colleague got a crab tower. Spouse and colleague both enjoyed their meals. Mine was not particularly great. The flavors were ok, but the steak was dried and over cooked and the shrimp were sort of shriveled and all of it was cold. All in all it made me not want to eat anymore. Maybe it was just the hour of the meal (8:30 arrival time), but shouldn't food be done well all the time if you are open? I don't think we will be back. There are simply too many other choices in the area.

Really fantastic service!

By FiveSpears |

Our server catered to our needs as a party with small child. They went out of the way to make sure we enjoyed our food and experience. The haystack style fries are AMAZING. We couldn't stop eating them. Everything was pretty tasty.

Breakfast at the White Oak

I have had breakfast at the White Oak many times in 2013. The food is always good and Lupita provides outstanding customer service, always cheerful, service is prompt, it is just a pleasure and I look forward to breakfast at the White Oak. Max Varner

Good food

By Lynn M |

We made reservations on Open Table to get 1,000 points for lunch. We were on our way to visit a store in the Galleria around lunch time, so we thought, why not try something new? We had been to this restaurant in the Westin Hotel when it was another brand, but not in a very long time. We asked if we could dine at the bar and the hostess was fine with that. A small negative was that the seats we chose, at the end of the bar closest to the entrance, had a draft every time the door was opened when a new customer came in. It was in the 40's outside, so that cool air was making its way to us. Fortunately, we were well dressed with winter "fluff", so it was okay. Our bartender, Andrew, was a bit slow in service at the beginning, but the experience still turned out well because the food was good and the drinks were good. We went for one of their new menu items, the Steak & Blue Cheese Quesadilla for $14.00 and it was very good. We were going to try the Japanese Calamari (I believe that is what it was called), but Andrew said it was a bit too fried and the item he liked the least. When asked about the Blue Crab Tower, he recommended it. It was also $14.00. The bottom was crab meat with lemon flavoring, the middle avocado and the top chopped tomato. It was delicious. I had two glasses of the BV Century Cellars Chardonnay (each $10) and it was quite nice. The husband had a Stella Artois beer. The hostess on our way out was very friendly and when I asked if they had a business card as I wanted to do a review, she had a business card for the restaurant which promoted Trip Advisor and doing reviews. Well....there you go. Done.

Houston Restaurant Week Brunch

By marymorr |

Had a great three course brunch using the Houston Restaurant Week menu. Enjoyed, Tortilla soup, Houston dairy made plate, huevos ranchero and Nutella Waffle. Dixie our server is family favorite at White Oak. Recommended reservations during this busy month.

Great breakfast spot

By Charles V |

Love the service and food at this spot. The staff has been around fir many years and offer great service while making you feel at home. Recommended

Great Appetizers

By greaume |

Not being overly hungry I stopped in for a couple appetizers. The wings were very good (salt and pepper). Nice and crisp with a good dipping sauce. They were a tad pricey but worth it. Also had some dumplings and together they hit the spot. Perhaps a quicker although more limited option than the Cheese Cake Factory down the hall.

Green salad recommended for lunch

By Staidthere |

We had lunch at White Oak because it was not so full as other restaurants in the Galleria at lunch time, and the seating was well-spaced, affording privacy for each table. My wife had a shrimp and mango salad which was very good. We recommend the green salad with cilantro, taco chips, chicken, corn, cheese, and a vinaigrette and peanut dressing which was excellent. Service was very good. The prices were a bit high but commensurate with the well-spaced setting and the convenience of being at the Galleria.

Nice Lunch Options

By Michael B |

This place is located in the Galleria, which is always crowded, by the ways.I decided to make a selection from the lunch menu since I would have a larger meal later in the evening. I selected the Chinese chicken potstickers and the smoked Mac and Cheese. Both were really good, but the plum sauce for the potstickers was really amazing. The menu is a more modern healthy cuisine so may not be best for families with little ones.

Mixed reviews - some food great, some so-so

By Pamelita7117 |

The salad with steak was great and plentiful, quesadillas were very good, bison burger just so-so, but truffle fries were excellent. Seemed we waited a long time for food, but there were 8 at our table.

Delicious and very affordable prices

By WeLoveTuscany2 |

Went here three times and had good meals each and every time. The skirt steak and truffle tries were excellent. Not over the top, the steak was cooked perfectly, the battender knew how to make real drinks from scratch. Second time was the bison burger. Didn;t enjoy that too much. Rather bland and could have used some seasoning to offset the lean meat of the bison. Third time I had the fried chicken and that was worthy of licking the plate.

Delicous Food and drinks

By Kathleen A |

this is open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. I ate here on four occasions and found the best buy to sit at the bar and order from the bar menu. Drinks were reasonably priced and you could get a delicious bar lunch for 9.95. And the service was friendly and helpful and food delicious.

Nice Place for brunch or lunch

By keacsanford |

Pretty and quite and the food and service were really good. Nice mid level restaurant in the Galleria for lunch or brunch. Have not had dinner there.

Food very good, service needs work

By dbinhou7511 |

Went here for Houston Restaurant Week. The food was very good and the portions large. However, the restaurant was obviously not correctly staffed. There seemed to be a shortage of wait staff and it took way to long (>20 minutes) and several inquiries to get the check (and the check was wrong when it did come). Otherwise I would go back

Great restaurant at The Galleria

By Anchises M |

This is a great option for a good meal at The Galleria. The decoration is nice and clean, service is polite and helpful and food is delicious. While most of the restaurants have an extense menu, with various sorts of foods, The White Oak focus on a handful set of appetizers, salads and sandwiches. At lunch, try the Lunch Menu, so tou can choose 2 or 3 half-portion specialities among the signature dishes. The falafel salad plus fried calamares are a must-try.

Sunday Night Delight

By Hal O |

With almost everything in the Galleria closed Sunday evening, it was great to find the White Oak Kitchen still serving. MELISSA was a great server, pointing out variations that weren't available on the menu. She was extremely attentive, keeping hot and cold drinks constantly refilled. Separate checks were no problem

Brunch

By Jamila370 |

Very nice food. Great service. Fantastic coffee. Downside: it is expensive. Asked to add an avocado to my Egg Benedict, they charged $3 extra. Not the best way to keep a new customer coming back.

Fantastic breakfast this weekend

By Charles V |

We throughly enjoyed breakfast here twice this weekend. The service is fantastic and while the menu is small it speeds service and the food is excellent. Highly recommended

Bridal Shower

By Ashley L |

My sisters had my bridal Shower here. The room was very nice for a small group. They were able to play a slide show on the TV as well. Everything was Wonderful. The brunch punch was tasty. The French toast had just the right amount of crisp around the edges. I had the smoked salmon Benedict and oh my was it DELICIOUS!!! Others had my table had the chicken and waffles and they all talked about how good it was. At the end the manager came to talk with us and she was so sweet. She asked about the experience and wished me well on my upcoming nuptials. We were able to valet at the Westin Oaks and White Oak Kitchen validated our ticket. Before we left my mom and I were already talking about when we could come back. Bottom line this place is great! Amazing food and drinks, wonderful service, and a beautiful atmosphere! You won't be disappointed!

Steak Nights

By 19goSkins |

I took advantage of their steak nights promotion on a recent visit. Solid ribeye with 2 sides (they let you sub out any 2 for the 2 offered with the meal, although I would definitely keep the marinated mushrooms). The restaurant was a bit quiet on the night I visited but there are lots of other high end places within earshot of this.

Great lunch, very fresh and quick!

By djroose |

Food was great. Came for lunch while in town for work. The burger was great, very fresh and cooked perfectly. Great flavors. Came with truffle fries. Good flavor on the fries but they lacked crispness. Otherwise very good. Would definitely come back.

Nice restaurant

We enjoyed a lot our meal at white oak. The food was very nice, the restaurant is well decorated and the service was really good.

Peaceful lunch escape from mall madness

By Ashley H |

A friend recommended White Oak Kitchen for lunch and a 'trendy, hip, delicious escape' from typical mall food. It was that and more! Kimora was helpful and extremely pleasant from the moment we walked in. Service was the perfect balance of attentiveness and space to allow for a peaceful lunch. Both my sister and I ordered the green tea honey lacquered salmon and loved every bite! Just the right touch of sweetness, but not too sweet. It was fresh and flavorful while still being a healthy option. The waitstaff and bar tender went above and beyond to make our experience so nice that we hesitated to even return to shopping. We would most certainly return for another meal here!

Houston Restaurant Week

By Casey H |

Smoked salmon Benedict is so yummy! A lot of bang for your buck during restaurant week! I will for sure come back to White Oak Kitchen + Drinks!

good food but pricy

By Dispalzz |

I had breakfast here. I got the eggs and chicken bacon plus coffee. The eggs were good but I did not care for the chicken sausage. The plate was $13 before tax and I think the coffee was around $3.50 or so. I thought that was too much for a plate of eggs.

Good service

By houstonnative47 |

Went here for lunch with girl friends for Houston Restaurant Week. We were seated right away as we had made reservations. Our waiter showed up soon thereafter to take our drink orders. We enjoyed either the dumplings or tortilla soup and most enjoyed the wok seared beef. I was not a fan of that myself. Most of us ordered the cinnamon roll for dessert which was quite good too. Several things stood out here. Our waiter kept up with our glasses needing to be refilled. I LOVE that! The portions were large for lunch. Most restaurants serve smaller portions during this time frame.

Brunch

By Michelle C |

Visited this restaurant because of the reviews and it was within walking distance from our hotel. Good was great! Only disappointment was on the menu the guacamole toast states it was on sour dough and also had tomato slices. The bartender said he was new and wasn't sure about the sour dough so he asked the chef and was informed that they needed to update the menu. I got whole wheat but when it arrives there weren't any tomatoes. Our bartender was able to get some for me. Our daughter had the Nutella waffles and the presentation was beautiful and they were delicious! Hubby has the salmon eggs Benedict and loved it. We will definitely go back. Can't beat the $5 mimosas!

Excellent mall food

By chellye |

We had chicken Caesar salad, steak and pineapple fried rice and Cubano sandwich. All were tasty and service was very good. Definitely would eat there again.

By Elizabeth C |

Very good food and excellent service. The only comment we have is that in 2 of our visits we wait 20 minutes or more for our food.

Great breakfast

This restaurant is conveniently located as you enter the mall from the hotel. Delicious breakfast and really excellent, attentive service. Would certainly visit again for breakfast.

Bravo

I’ve stayed in Galleria Hotel for the whole week and out of 15 meals I had in the restaurants 11 were in White oak kitchen. I’m into healthy eating and very soon I’ve realized that this place offers me the best options. Loved everything I had. Reasonably priced for the quality of food they’re offering. Crispy red fish is excellent and for 2 of the dishes they offer mashed cauliflower side. Delish!

Good food in a comfortable setting

The restaurant drew us in by the "+ Drinks" in its name, but it turned out that both food (we were there for a late dinner) and the wine selection were excellent. It is located on the second floor inside the Galleria. It was busy, but not noisy, and the service was perfect. Prices for the main course were very moderate--in the teens except for rib-eye steak--and the veggies with the meal were willingly substituted without fuss or extra cost. (Does anyone actually like kale?) This restaurant is a good choice for the hungry shopper at the Galleria, or visitor at one of the nearby hotels.

Amazing food and staff

I was there during the restaurant week. We been there other times but we had no idea how packed it could get during restaurant week, our server Sonya or Sonia..... was very good at keeping up with the crowd we ask for suggestions appetizers were a hit with the kids and kept them busy while food arrived, food was a little late but so worth it juicy, jucy steaks .Not crazy about the bread pudding a little too much egg taste for my family, we settle for the nut brownies.

Great Food

This was my first time eating at this restaurant. Everything on the menu looked so good. I went with the Kitchen Burger. The meat was so fresh and the truffle fries were delicious. Will be going back to try other menu items. The prices are reasonable as well. You definitely get your money's worth.

My favorite convenient lunch stop!

I've been to White Oak Kitchen more times than I can count now and have always had really great food. The servers are attentive and when they realize that you're there on your lunch break they are quick to address your needs. I really enjoy the detox salad, but I haven't had anything on the menu that I did not enjoy. Prices at White Oak are good too, which always helps.

Breakfast

Enjoyed our breakfast here. Located right next to the Westin oaks and can charge your room for the bill. The breakfast menu wasn’t huge but had what we needed.

Migas for brunch=happy tummy!

Migas plate was outstanding. It included eggs, potatoes, and jalapeño sausage (the best part of the dish) Also ask for a roasted jalapeño on the side, adds great favor to the dish :) Our waiter Valentin was amazing.

Fine for early breakfast

The food is not bad but there is few options, fine for early breakfast (before 10:00) since it is into the Westin Hotel but for lunch and dinner there are better options into the Galleria Plaza and around. It's expensive.
