I love the flagship whole foods store ; this IS where the "whole" thing began and its spectacular !! I love to eat lunch there outside and sometimes a local band is playing; the food bars, coffee, tea, really whatever you want is Yummy ; and it's all organic or fresh made !! It's a must visit while in Austin :)

This is a beautiful store in a very nice area. This was my first visit to this store and the staff went above and beyond to help me find things. I had a very pleasant experience and would definitely come back again.

Whole Foods in MA are not like the ones in Austin, with several Marche style food options with great food and service. I had fish tacos that were very well prepared. Love the concept.

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for a few things, and other than the parking situation outside, the store was perfect on the inside. The employees were super helpful, everything was neatly and thoughtfully arranged and presented, and checkout was a breeze. Really clean and nice. Excellent experience.

Whole Foods, the "'Mother" of all Whole Foods Markets, should not only be listed under the food category, but also as an attraction. If they only had a little hotel inside this wonderful place, well, I would just be in heaven. You may think that If you've seen one Whole Foods, you've seen them all--not so. This one is HUGE, with restaurants inside , a geat seating area outside and inside. The selection of delicious food, bakery items, bread, etc. to take out or eat in is just amazing. There are actual sit down and order little restaurants inside. We recently ate at the Italian one and the pasta was fresh and so tasty. The prepared food, hot and cold, is always fresh and the selectin, well, there is something for everyone. Actually, you'll want to keep going back as there is so much from which to choose. It is fun just to wander the aisles to see all that they have and this can entertain you for quite a while. I have hardly done Whole Foods Austin justice in this short review. Go and see and taste for yourself and you too will say, "WOW!!! AMAZING!!! I WISH THEY HAD A PLACE TO SLEEP!!!!

Whole Foods has made grocery shopping in New York so much more civilized and enjoyable. The Flagship in Austin is amazing...wish I had more time there. Definitely worth a visit while you are in town.

Great selection but a little price anxious. Deals are found at Fiesta too.. Sam's even if you have a membership. No one beats the quality though.

My vegan friend who's moved away just HAS to make her regular pilgrimage to this great farmer's market type store which has every type of fruit, fresh food and even spa type items. It is a GREAT way to spend an afternoon and you might even see a LA-now-in-Austin celebrity as they like to shop here, I'm told (why can't I ever run into Sandra Bullock?). Great place to shop even if you're just seeing plebeians.

I expected to stop in for a quick snack as I was wandering through the streets of Austin and found the mothership! Holy whole foods this location is great!

You must try the Barbacoa wrapped in tortilla that they serve at breakfast! Smoked in house and has a little kick! Also, this location has a large juice bar and beer selection. I loved that this was within walking distance from my hotel.

I really like this market. It's got a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. They have meals prepared every day. Lots of organic stuff, even diapers. Plus, if you're a cheese lover, this place must definitely be on your list. The prices are not as low as a regular supermarket but some things, like the soy milk are and those that are higher, are worth the price. It is good quality.

You can find healthy food cooked or to be prepared. If you are alone, you could get portions there..I love it...you don't need to go to a restaurant to look food...

NIce look to store but food spoils quickly. That is the way it is without preservatives Expensive too

There are more Whole Foods markets in Austin per square foot than anywhere else in the nation I believe! Whole Foods and Austin go hand in hand.

If you aren't in the mood to cook Whole Foods has a great selection of pre-made meals. Not sure if all locations have a "happy hour" but ours does and its fun to stop and grab a glass of wine and some appetizers before heading home.

I highly recommend the place, BC of the quality , all so fresh and so tasty . The ambiance is very familiar and nice . Very good attention of the staff . The sandwiches are a MUST and the gourmet food is delicious . Try it, you will love it . All its so clean !!

Great assortment of prepared foods. The sushi m is excellent and the staff are wonderful. Check out the olive bar.

Amazing selection, great food place...stop in here just if your hungry, believe me its worth it. And its a grocery stor too hah!

Can quick a quick breakfast taco to go in a matter of minutes that is tasty and inexpensive!

I always love going to Whole Foods for breakfast tacos. The selection of items to include is vast and the line is always quick. It is a great way to start the day.l

It was fun, sensory-overload experience to visit the flagship Whole Foods. Food stations were everywhere, and there's even a small bar in the middle of the store where you can order draft beer or pop a bottle that you bought in their walk-in cooler.

Great place to grab food and take with in a rush, Got fresh soup and salad here! Love their fresh margarita pizza in teh deli!

My sister wanted to take us through Whole Foods to see what a real grocery store should be like. I had to buy a draft beer to have the experience of grocery shopping with a beer in hand. We decided to have lunch while we were there and my wife and I decided to split a bison sandwich. It was just delicious. The meat was rare and so tender. I only wish we had a Whole Foods in Gastonia NC

My wife and I find a nice bottle of wine. then sit at one of the counters and eat a wonderful meal and drink a great bottle of wine at a very reasonable price. It is a good way to people watch and talk about what you will be doing later in the evening and you don't break the bank

Went and ate with a friend for lunch. Food was great, healthy and what a selection. Hade a great time and loved the atmosphere.

Awesome wholesome food and it has the best sloppy joes in town. It's an experience since you're eating in the middle of a supermarket but it's also kind of cool.

Just love this place. The food, displays, general goods and wine, beer selection. Even my husband loves going into here and he is allergic to supermarkets!!

The lobster chowder and cornbread were a great combination! Lots of great samples being handed out. Fast and courteous checkout.

loved the beverage taste testing and food samples. Friday eve they had wine and beer tasting and lots of yummy snacks.

Nice everything, not cheap but not pricey, good lunch buffet, friendly staff. Pretty much have everything a weary traveller needs.

Consistently good quality but very pricey. Don't like the store layout very much. I'm more of a Central Market fan.

This is a great place to eat! I know its a grocery store but it also has at least 10 places to eat! You can eat in or take it home!!

Great salad chose, yum hot pizzas and sandwiched. Cost per person for a meal would be about 10$.there are fresh juices available and you can buy from the supermarket and eat at their restaurant.

Stopped for lunch here again this afternoon. I enjoying stopping in at Whole Foods because of their good selection of hot foods and fresh salads. The Kale / Cranberry Salad is awesome!

What an experience. From the organic foods to the chocalate bar this 80k sq.ft.store is like going to an amusement park. It was fun just wandering through the store looking at all the goodies and taking in the aromas of all of the foods being prepared. The bakery section was as large and inviting as I have ever seen. The fresh meat and seafood counters presented a variety of products that I wouldn'timagine possible. A must see when in Austin

Please wear a mask people, over the nose. Other than that the quality of the product is good, the layout is kind of weird, but it’s a downtown grocery store so it’s expected

One of my favorite grocery stores. Great organic produce, baking goods and they always carry fresh lamb!

My son works downtown so when we can we meet here. Not a normal resturant where you sit down and order. They have many grills and areas you can order what you want. The only thing I ever order that did not like was the London Broil. I got that about a year ago and it was so tough I am still chewing on it. I still love going there.

Loved it! Purchased gourmet takeout entrees for romantic dinner in the hotel suite, ahhh ended up being so much better than expected!

Coming from a place that doesn't have Whole Foods close, I was blown away by the number of employees and sheer quantity of options on every aisle and meal options for a grocery store. They had everything from sushi, juice, BBQ, and salad bar and so much more. It was like a giant, elite cafeteria with every taste covered. I know I probably said out loud "OMG look at that olive bar!" (Seriously, there were about 20 different kinds of olives.) Then the bakery section was where I made plans to come back for dessert sometime because you could pick out exactly what you wanted by looking at all the choices. There were lots of great samples from apples to fresh bread. I thought it was a great stop and borderline attraction for Austin. Worth a stop even if to just look around.

One of the largest Whole Foods in Texas. Love going here when I'm in Austin to browse through the aisles!

I love the way each whole foods is a surprise, yet wonderfully familiar. This salad and hot food bar does not disappoint and is a healthy alternative to heavy restaurant food when travelling for business.

We were down for the USGP when hurricane Patricia came through and dumped 7" of rain on Saturday alone. Coming back drenched from the knees down a steaming cup of Joe was what we all wanted. The coffee area helped revive our chilled bones, the wine area, helped with prospects for the evening, the sushi provided a late lunch a few bits of cheese, crackers and pesto brightened the spirits. This is NOT a large Whole Foods but since we were staying at the Staybridge Suite it was 1/2 mile away allowing us to access quality products. Oh, if you think their coffee is expensive be glad you weren't at the Circuit of the Americas. $5 for a small black coffee.

Came here to perform for SXSW, The best experience of my life. Wholefoods can throw down! There was so much fresh food available and the staff was so nice and supportive.

My experience at Whole Foods was good. Good fun, helpful staff and I got everything I needed. The staff are well knowledgeable in their specific areas and gave me guidance on where to go!

i love to go here to get fruits for my smoothies. more than that, their food selection, if you don't want to cook nor go to a sit-down place, is just awesome. love their kale salad.

One of the best whole foods! Great to visit after a long walk in the park.

This place has everything. If I would have found it earlier I would have had lunch and dinner here. It has virtually anything you could think of to do with food. Gourmet, With lots of organic and specialty foods. seafood, a chocolate counter, cheeses galore, bakery, a huge selection of ready to eat there or take out foods. Staff were very helpfull. A handy downtown location

I shop here all the time for the best organic foods. I can depend on the products to be of top quality as well as to not contain unhealthily ingredients.

This massive whole Foods is well worth the visit. As the Whole Foods Corporate Headquarters is in Austin, it makes sense that this would also be the place they house their biggest market. Walking from one end of the store to the other will definitely give you a workout. Better yet, there are a number of cafes within the market that serve dishes to meet everyone's varied taste!

This is much less a market or store than it is an eating experience. There are seafood, barbecue, pasta, wine, beer, vegan, and other mini restaurants within Whole Foods. Each had a chef or sommelier with a food bar and high chairs for individual specialties. One can eat an appetizer of seafood, a main of barbecued brisket, a side of pasta, taste several wines, enjoy a dessert and coffee...all under one roof. It is fun, delicious, and so flexible and varied. We live near a Whole Foods store in another state with many varied things you can buy, even prepared foods, but definitely without the sense of chef prep, style, and eatery. We even returned a second time and found the moist barbecued brisket to be the best we have tasted through out the city. BRAVO.

This is where the Whole Foods revolution began, and it's a trip (and worth the trip) to visit their downtown headquarters location. It's food heaven: food to buy, food to eat, food to gawk at. Be sure to go around mealtime and try out one of their numerous cafe/restaurant areas in the store, where you can get everything from barbecue to fine seafood. We had lunch at the seafood area, and I watched the young chef lovingly prepare fresh scallops and crab cakes that were as good as any I've had at the finest seafood restaurants in the country. I know that sounds like hyperbole, but give it a try: you won't have the fine dining experience in terms of ambiance (far from it), but you will nonetheless have truly outstanding food.

This is a typical Whole Foods. I enjoy stopping by and grabbing something healthy for dinner when I don't feel like cooking. You can also pick up Amazon packages at this location.

I have had them cater numerous event at my home in Lakeway. Food always arrives in a van that heats and cools appropriately. Have never been disappointed. The staff are amazing and read your mind. I like that.

One awesome place with a multiplicity of food venues inside the store and great for people-watching too! Often has music and special events as well! Oh, and I guess you shouldn't forget great organic food choices, etc.

Incredibly high pricing. Whole Foods started here in Austin, but it has become the incredible most current generation of kids and yuppies favorite place to be. It can be crowded and noisy. The in store food is usually good. The gelato very good. Plenty of parking in the basement. Rating is solely on value for money

The Chai Latte I ordered was so bad that I only tasted once. It was hot water with some kind of odd flavor. A very good grocery store, damage by this kind of bad service. What a petty...

We enjoy wandering around WF as much as we enjoy eating there. Clean, with a good variety of prepared foods and indoor and outdoor seating areas. Always find something new and interesting to try there!

several different islands to get food. Salad bar with lots of variety, hot food, cold plates, and desserts. So much to choose from. Grab your food, pay and sit to eat inside or outside. Tables are close together with shoppers walking next to you. Shopping is good here. Locally grown fresh flowers, fruits and veggy varieties. Spices, lentils, and rices by the ounce. Hand made soaps and bath products. Hard to find teas, coffees, and just about anything you can imagine. Fresh baked bread and desserts. All that we bought was reasonably priced and worth the cost. Free parking garage for shoppers. We will definitely go back.

Bigger and better than the Portland Oregon stores, which I like. I browsed the store for long enough that I wanted some lunch. I bought a custom-made smoothie, not off the menu, with just fruit and juice. And I tried the day's taco special. Yum! No wonder the prepared food counters were so busy.

When was the last time you heard of a concierge at a food store? Whole Foods has one and they answered an Email question within minutes. At 80000sq.ft. This store has everything. Several people asked if we been to Whole Foods while we were staying in Austin ,so we figured we had better see what it was. WOW. Besides an amazing selection of groceries there is a food bar for everything! From sushi to tacos to wine to hot dogs! A huge salad, hot food bar where you make your own salad. Then a large seating area with Wifi to enjoy your choices. We could have spent hours browsing the aisles. If in Austin swing by for lunch at least.

Great beer selection, great meat dept., great veggies, always a wide variety of side dishes and an always helpful staff. What more could you want?

It is not just a healthy supermarket - it is more than that it is an excellent experience. The variety of food, the friendly staff and the whole atmosphere that says : 'come back and buy more!'.

They pretty much have everything organic that you could think of. Just be ready to pay for it as the prices are a bit steep compared to other places that offer organic food.

The best part about WF is their amazing welcoming environment staff is always happy the know me by my name everyone is always happy. And of course the quality of their products is like no other :)

Overpriced and unfriendly. Run don't walk to Central Market if you want good food and good service.

Gorgeous, delicious and healthy food everywhere. Lots of energy in staff and patrons. A fun destination for tasting new foods. Wonderful spot. Soooo Austin!

this is the oldest whole foods and worth a look you can get all types of food and drinks here beer to smoothies and food well be careful as they weigh it. if you like whole foods you will be in heaven here

It is nice to eat delicious food that is also good for you, and that will happen here. The food is fresh and so full of flavor, you don't even realize it is as good for you as it is.

One of the nicest Whole Foods Markets I've been to. Great atmosphere and location. A "must visit" when you're in town!

They don't call it Whole Paycheck for no reason, but the selection and service are unparalleled. We go because there are many things we can't get elsewhere and with multiple food allergies and preferences in our family, it's a great fit.

austin is headquarters for Whole Foods so this store is a must see. WOW! everything. had a great VEGAN lunch, a healthy dessert with no additives and it's about a 15 min (one way) or 1.6mile (round trip) from convention center. a little exercise never hurt

Dozens of soups, salads, meats, prepared foods. Crazy the number of choices. Between four of us, we had soup, couscous salads, paninis, Chinese, baked chicken, pasta, gelato... This is the flagship store and very much worth a visit. Don't know what you want? Stop by here...something will look good-honest!

I do believe this is the only small Whole Food store left in Austin. It kind of reminds me of the old days when Whole Foods was just blossoming into the huge global business it is today. Love the staff there and the fresh produce and meats. Great take away meals as well!

Very very nice mall and store, congratulations! Food court is very complete, and the variety of products is amazing. We ate pizza which was at a good price and very tasty. We also had salads, which resulted ridiculously expensive (sold by the weight), and this last item may be an improvement opportunity. Thanks!

It was huge, and fun! We sat at the bar, had a mystery drink for $1.99, the meat department had every kind of meat, every kind of seasoning you can imagine! This was an awesome store, there's and upstairs loft eatery, and roof top seating with a view.

Whole Foods Market is an experience. You need to go to the smoothie bar first and order up your favorite healthy drink then I like to start at the perimeter and look at all the yummy dishes and cheeses. The wine and coffee area are also my favorites as you can smell the coffee as you come down the aisle. Wonderful fruit so fresh and organic as well as a beautiful floral area. If you have anything that ails you they have people in the aisles to help you pick out a natural remedy thru herbs, vitamins and tonics. Great for people who want Organic or Gluten free food. A little pricey but worth it.

I am a big fan of Whole foods lunch. Its healthy, quick and I never feel drowsy after lunch at work.

Do not understand the attraction of this brand or Trader's Joe, Why do you want to shop for items which are overpriced and you can get at other grocery stores. The salad bar is like a kids bulk candy store, you go into sticker shock when you weigh it and see the price. Not for me, I like my non Whole Food markets.

It's almost a day out if you have never been before. I have never seen so much organic food under one roof, an Aladdin's cave of goodies. Go hungry, eat in one of their various food stops, then shop, then eat some more!!! Not for those on a budget though. If you are a visitor the to USA staying in Austin and care passionately about your food and the environment it's a real eye-opener.

It is worth a trip to visit the store - it is not just another grocery. Offers a great assortment with good quality. Enjoyed lunch on the patio in the sunshine and enjoying local flavor.

Whole Foods are really quite inconsistent as to the food quality at the take out food bars. Have to say that Austin store is worth a visit as the food bar was splendid and tasty. Whole Foods needs to revisit how they manage this section of the stores. They are getting top prices so every store should have a top chef managing the daily food production as they are charging high prices.

Whole Foods has big offer to buy. Fresh vegetable and fruit looks like from magazine. And also its inside restaurant is really good place to eat.

the store has all of the great stuff we cannot get in our grocery store and the food and drinks are always fun and fresh.

If you want gourmet food, this is the place. We eat here too as they have a good selection of healthy food to dine in or to go. I always enjoy browsing of shopping at this place. The staff are great and they are always there help you. Some of the items are pricey than a regular market but the quality is impeccable.

Go to the flagship at 6th and Lamar. My friends came to visit and thought I was crazy sendng them there until they went. Lots of places to eat within the store. Great outdoor dining area.

I go to this location about once a month. (Arboretum) I had a discount card for vitamins, and get good advise on specific ones. The employees are very nice and ask you if they can help often. That way a customer is not search an employee out. A beautiful design store with the method they display food. Very friendly and helpful meat counters. I enjoy getting a meal to eat there and just pause for a minute on the benches outside before loading up my car. Go early on the weekend as it can be like Grand Central Station! Unless you like that-LOL. Tasty Gluten-Free products in the bakery too.

Austin's Whole Foods has a variety of choices for EVERYONE. Fresh veggies and an extensive gluten free selection.

could not ask for better customer service , knowledge, enthusiasm, and product variety - I have many stories of the staff going way overboard to make sure I walked out with a big smile

This was within walking distance of the hotel and very convenient. The salad bar was great and the cookies were amazing.

Huge Selection ...well labeled...well staffed....helpful management...staff really seems to enjoy working there and knows their products. Staff has gone above and beyond in helping me. Fresh and Healthy food. An enjoyable shopping experience.

Staying at the nearby Residence Inn I was looking for a grocery store and they recommended Whole foods. The variety in this store was great. I bought some fresh shrimp, veggies, rice and a six pack of Belgian Leffe beer (I love Belgian beer!) as well as items for breakfast for the whole week. It is cheaper to cook in my room than eat out. They have a deli selection of pre cooked food which is very extensive. Gotta check that out before I check out of the hotel. The people in the front of this section were three deep so the food must be good!

Whole Foods knows how to do a salad bar. They have a huge number of fresh items. It is great to be able to take a small amount to try out something new. You do need to be careful because the weight in the container adds up quickly and you can get sticker shock at the register, but it's so worth it!

It is the best place to go shopping in Austin... the downtown facility is awesome and you can find anything you want. I look forward to the opening of their new store in the Domain.

Our friends took us to the Whole Foods in Austin, which is the headquarters of Whole Foods. It was so large and the selections were endless! While some of the items were really pricey, if you are looking for healthy organic food and raised right meats you have hit the motherload! Everything in the store seems to have local and organic all over it! My friend and I bought two desserts from there and shared- soooo good! (carrot cake slice and vanilla/berry cake slice). You can try samples of many of their products before buying. Some great looking food and looking forward to go to our local Whole Foods in Cincinnati much more!

We found the Whole Foods market in the large shopping center across from the Marriot and after a long day of travel, we were happy to be able to pick up something for dinner and other snacks for our stay.

I really LOVE this new store! The size isn't overwhelming as the store downtown. It has a wonderful bistro and meals to go section, its easy to get around. the bar and seating areas upstairs were so inviting! I will be coming here often to shop and have fun with friends :)

The home of Whole Foods, one of the pioneers of healthy food stores is located in Austin on Lamar street near downtown. If you like the stores, or even enjoy foodie experiences, its worth a trip to this store. Besides all the normal foodstuffs you can buy, at this site, which is their corporate HQ, you can find several different restaurants serving the food. They also do cooking classes at this site and have special events going on all the time (in winter, you can ice skate on the rooftop patio (yes, ice skating in texas).

I don't know why all grocery stores cannnot achieve what WHOLE FOODS has. It is always stocked and very clean. I especially like the prepackaged salads and the bakery. A little pricey, but worth it.

This is a great place to find an assortment of delicious vegan food. They have vegan hot plates as well as to go order vegan food. Review by Gabriel A Culiat

amazed at the large assortment of everything...great fresh food bar and bakery. especially convenient is the parking deck and conveyor belt for rolling carts up/down from the store.

Familiar with the whole foods chain but this was the largest times 4 whole foods we had ever been. Ate breakfast there one morning - it was excellent - then went shopping there. Was overwhelmed by the selection of prepared fresh foods. If we lived in Austin - would probably go to Whole Foods 5 or 6 times a week to eat.

ate at the seafood area....had wonderful scallops...then got adobe chili chocolate bar and espresso and sat outside.....terrific....

Personally I find trying to eat at these stores like dining in the center lane of a freeway! So I don't, BUT I do shop there. The flagship store has great departments with knowledgeable staff. Cheese, excellent! Meat, coffee/tea, bread, deli, etc. all great! And it is a ton of fun to walk around this store and just feast your eyes. But the North (Gateway) store is a totally different story. Ask for almost anything not on display at the meat counter and you are told "we have no call for that here"! IMO that is an unacceptable response. And there is never an offer to get it for you. Cheese dept.? Don't bother and don't ask as they don't seem to know what they have either. Staff at both stores USED to be better trained and more customer-centered than now, but I guess that's the price of success: it used to be about us, now it's about them!

Whole Foods is a high end grocery market......overpriced but good quality......for me, paying extra for food just isn't justified.

The place was amazing! Great products yet all the stuff is a bit pricey. I mean I went there and saw that a small bag of gummy bears we like 5 or 6 dollars. But the stuff they have there is amazing. If you are planning to shop there (which I would) just be ready to spend large bit of money

I love that I have so many options that I know are healthy and if I want a treat, it is there, too. Recently, I indulged a bit and had some fish and chips and a pint before I went shopping. That did make a more pleasant shopping experience!

The Hemp bagels are filled with protein and this is the only place to find them. The produce is fresh and great. The vegan pizza is tasty and so good.

It's as good place to buy food to go. It has variety, and the food is pretty good. After a couple of days you may get tired of the same food.

Awesome fresh produce, bakery items and prepared food. .Sure wish we had a Whole Foods Market in Temple.

I thought the satellite version of Whole Foods I've visited in Vancouver was great and it was. But this, one of the Originals, it jaw dropping. We simply don't have a wine / sushi / seafood / etc / bar built into the market. I've heard -- and maybe it's an Urban Legend? -- that people choose to come here on a date : ) Makes sense if you enjoy anything about quality food and wine served up fresh. Bottom line is Austin Texas' Whole Foods is urbane in ways that were unanticipated. Throw in the best quality foods available and you can easily see yourself as a return customer.

the richest variety of cousine almost all are natural and fresh any group will be satsified because there is always something for each person I wish there were more tables outside

Found the Blood Orange juice we needed. Had delicious pizza, sandwich and veggies with a n enjoyable place to eat it. Parking was very convenient.

We love Whole Foods pre-made wraps and sandwiches, they're the best and not too expensive. The day we went my husband was their live music for the day and they have a pretty area to sit outside and eat while you listen to live music.

It's great to be able to visit Whole Foods to stock up my hotel refrigerator for the duration of a business trip. Saves money vs. going out to a restaurant every evening.

Since Whole Food is based out of Austin, their downtown store is a destination. It's nice to look at the array of food (rather pricey), but the in-store "serving stations" are what makes it fun. Go there to window shop, but plan to eat lunch. Good food!

Wow, the downtown Austin location has so many wonderful food choices, you have a hard time choosing what to eat here. Nice patio, too. We enjoyed the San Antonio Northwest location, too. I only wish my city had a Whole Foods!

It' is the original Whole Foods so it's obviously the best! There are so many food choices from tacos, to pizza, to sandwiches, to dim sum (occasionally they have a cart). My favorite is the Thai food in the hot bar (samosas are my fave!). If you have a group of people and no one can agree on what to eat, this is the place to go. Everyone can enjoy something from here. I go here to eat when I'm downtown.

We love to grab a fresh and yummy seafood dinner at the seafood market at Whole Foods on S Lamar & 6th St. There is always a daily special as well as many different types of fresh seafood available. The menu changes every so often to keep it fresh and there is even an option to pick a fish, pick a sauce & two sides. You can either sip on a $5-7 glass of wine or just grab a bottle out of the wine dept and watch the grill masters work their magic. Best deal in town.

We just love the selection of Whole Foods!!! Everything is fresh and you find items that are hard to locate.

I have a Whole Foods a couple miles from my house, but the flagship Whole Foods in Austin is not likely any grocery store I've been to before. It offers an enormous variety of pre-made food items for takeaway or dine in, everything from salads, to sandwiches, to Japanese noodles, cheeses, crackers, olives, pizzas, you name it they had it. And everything I tried had amazing flavor but with the healthiness that speaks the Whole Foods brand. It was such a positive experience, we went their twice!

This store is smaller and offers fewer options than its nearby Domaine sister store but it offers a reasonable range of options from soup to pizza to more. I opted for the Spinach Stromboli which was very good. And lot cheaper than a restaurant. Recommended.

I love Whole Foods Market but this one doesn't have the variety that I've come to expect. Don't get me wrong, the food is great, just not enough to choose from. To to the corporate store in town. Wow!

Liked it all. Disliked nothing. Had to require help from staff to reach an item too high for me to reach. They were quick, and very friendly with their assistance. I go there to shop every trip to Austin

I always seem to end up here after biking when it´s super hot outside. It´s a nice place for a quick bit as well as a place to seek some shelter in the blistering heat. This place is huge, and has almost anything you can think of. Only negative thing is that it is a bit pricey.

Deli food poorly cooked. But it's a Monday... so you try again on Weds and its ok. But you go back on Saturday and it's terrible. Undercooked Bloody Chicken. yecch. Twice. Then, I go to the Vitamin section and everything I look to buy is $5 higher than at other stores. We all know WFM is pricey, but it is a bit insulting when it is on an item that has direct comparables. And some of the staff is

Fresh food already prepared to go. Always has beautiful produce and quality meats and produce. Austin homegrown company and really happy to find one in Portand, Maine while on vacation this summer!

Good selection of natural foods. Good place to eat lunch, lot of things to pick from. But expensive.

Short distance from the The Pond Hockey Club. Was able to run over and get my son some great food off of the salad bar in between his games. Great sales. Fresh foods. I got him turkey and tomatoes from the fresh salad bar and it tasted great. Also got another son a slice of pizza and it was very tasty as well. Great market!

Great concept. Planked seasoned shrimp ready to grill. Tons of gluten free. Vegan. Vegetarian. Paleo. Etc. Cheeses and just about anything you really could ask for. $$/$$$. Too many items to list. If your in Austin Texas check it out.

Not my kind of store, but it was neat. Found a few things, but my family is not into the all natural, all healthy. If that is your thing you would love this place.

This place has food for any palate to grab and eat at the park or wherever! We couldn’t resist all of the options at the cold/ warm bars. My husband rarely eats salad, but got it both times we went to Whole Foods downtown. The best part is the parking- it’s plentiful and free!

I come to this Whole Foods a lot for a quick lunch and eat the made to order ramen. I get to choose 4 veggies, a protein and broth (veggie miso) along with wide variety of condiments such as fried garlic and shallots for $5! What a deal! It is really delicious and I have always been very satisfied until two days ago... The guy who took my order was unfriendly and was very stingy with the portions. Normally, I am offered free green onions, cilantro and lime but he told they count as the 4 veggies... Then, I asked for sriracha sauce and he put chili oil instead. I noticed that my bowl was very light and only about 2/3 full. I sat down to eat and the broth was too oily from the chili oil he mistakenly put in and the ramen noodles were undercooked. Anyone who loves ramen knows that undercooked ramen noodles taste doughy. I got my money back and felt very disappointed. Maybe he was new and didn't know much about customer service or ramen. I have had several different servers make ramen for me and they were all wonderful. I will continue to eat ramen there but will avoid it if I see that particular guy there.

This Whole Foods store is smaller than the flagship store in Austin, but still has everything for a quick grocery stop as well as lunch or dinner. It has a great selection of organic foods, non GMO products, supplements and other grocery items. I stopped here for lunch and had some in house smoked chicken, which was delicious.

As a self-acclaimed pizza snob, I was very pleasantly surprised. I was in meetings nearby and decided that pizza at Whole Foods would be a good lunch. It was. Not the best pizza, but good. All ingredients were very good. The slice folded nicely and it had sufficient toppings and cheese. I opted for the vegetarian slice. Service was fast and very courteous. I will go back.

Really nice grocery store with a good food bar - can find almost anything you might be interested in - very unusual from your chain food stores & a lot more interesting.

A member of my family works there and loves it ! It has really good produce and really really good service...its nice to be able to find organic items.... i am talking about the mother of all whole foods

salard is very fresh and plenty of choice. As a forgeiner, it might be difficult to know all the food on the shelves. But, i still manage to get myselve a good meal

Went to Whole Foods to buy some quality meats for New Years Eve snd for a dinner party and had lunch at the noodle station. Had ramen noodles with brisket, broccoli, mushrooms and bok choy. It was very very good - and only $5. A great deal!

This is one of least liked whole foods in the area. Hot goods and salad bars are very small. I like the Lamar location and Cedar Park store much better.

If the new Domain WFM is a bit cray-cray for your tastes, and let's face it, it is, especially on Friday nights or the weekend mornings, when it seems everyone and their mother is shopping there, then head over to this Gateway location. This was supposed to close when the Domain location opened (which is like less than 2 miles away), but miraculously, it has been kept open, and not only that, it has been renovated inside and now seems more spacious. The best part is that you can walk around unfettered, since the foot traffic isn't as cray-cray as at the Domain.

Beautiful, huge and new, with a fun patio in the front for Austin see and be seen ambiance. The healthy Austinites who jog and bike like to come here and relax with a carrot juice and a great salad. Lots of great bins of nuts and trail mix, great bakery and foods to go. Fun place for kids also to dine outdoors. Pizza on whole wheat crust with two toppings is only 12.99 and is great!

Not only can you find unique food items....you will find a great breakfast, lunch or dinner....save room for dessert from the bakery

This is the best Whole Foods I've seen, and is a definite must visit for a food loving traveler! I believe this was the first one built? It is definitely the largest of the 5 I've been in before.

I love the fresh produce at Whole Foods. Check the sales flyer online for great weekly sales. They also take coupons! Also check out the 365 brand of products. It is the store brand and prices are great!

Hundreds of options and great variety of foods and drinks. First class

Forget the tie-dyed shirts and bulk health food. That was then. Now, slip into your Versace jogging suit and cruise down in the Porsche. You can eat well here and it's still fun to look at the variety of stuff. The staff is friendly and will cheerfully wrap your $30/lb. salmon for you. You should visit the mother ship on Lamar. Ask them how they feel about joining the union, just for fun.

Literally the best place in Austin to stop for carry out or dine in quick meal. Pretty much anything you crave you can find here and unlike the grocery area the prices are reasonable!

First, I love Whole Foods. That said, I found it a little over the top to pay almost $7 for a 4" square tub of gummy stars. OK, maybe they were the healthiest gummy candies in town, but really now!

The food is natural, organic, plentiful and delicious. While shopping take the time to dine in on their well prepared array of dishes. The prices are a little high but the quality justifies the cost.

The crowds are always friendly at the Whole Foods restaurants--it is a bit of a cult in Austin. What it lacks in atmosphere, it makes up in the banter between the patrons. The food served is good and the drink options are great.

Love prepared foods at Whole Foods market; love their catering service--have used them many times for parties.

You will find all organic stuffs here: Organic veggies. Organic fruits. Organic spices. Organic oil. But but but the price is a bit on higher end compared to Walmart. Location is good you will get good service and they give all the stuff in paper bags which is disposable.

I am very comfortable with the organic collection this store has. If I have to buy any food items while I am at Austin, this is my place always.

My fiance and I did not find the item we wanted in stock. The customer service department helped us tremendously finding and sourcing the item we wanted. Even going as far as taking our name and number and giving us a call within a few hours once they'd tracked it down for us. Above and beyond employees!

We have a new one out on the South side of Austin. Very friendly employees and you can get things there not found at Costco or HEB like High grade truffle oil.

Many excellent food choices are available when you take a break from buying groceries. Or you can have a beer and keep on shopping. Food is surprisingly tasty and at reasonable prices. I like it.

I found the Whole Foods while walking down 6th Street on a recent business visit to Austin, TX. Wow ..... this Whole Foods makes the newly opened store in my area look amemic in services and goods offered. While walking through th store, I found several restaurant/eating food opportunities. Seating was availabe in an attractive outdoor patio and areas in the store as well. I sat at the Whole Foods bar (yes, a bar in Whole Foods), offering several draught beers and wines (yes, draught wine). Of course, they have some wine selections from the bottle as well. A NFL football game was on the bar TV. There was a food cooking station nearby where I ordered an order of cheese/bacon popovers and an order of pork belly served on chile grits. And yes, I did purchase a 'Wine Growler' and had it filled with an Italian red offering 'on tap' and brought it back to the hotel room for later consumption during the week. The experience was fabulous. I had fun.

I go there a lot to shop, usually purchase many things. They have a large variety of foods and well as other items.

If you are in the area and need a place to stop in and pick up something unusual for a dinner party, hosting event, or just to impress the family with something new and different, this place has some cool stuff! Their bakery department has unique breads and cookies, the tea selection is large, there's unusual dips, appetizers, cheeses and wine selections. I love just perusing the isles and see what strikes my fancy. Their smoothie bar has some good to go drinks to make the trip an adventure. Don't forget your recycled bag!

Just love this place. The feel is how food shopping should be. Visited Austin for 4 days visited Whole Foods 3x's. And still ate out at 7 restaurants Great place

It's more than a standard grocery store. Check out all the unusual things that you buy at the Whole Foods Headquarters (downtown). There are also Whole Foods stores in North Austin and in South Austin. If you're there around lunch time, grab something to eat in their buffet area. It can be pricey, so watch what you get (especially at the salad bar). The Headquarters also boasts an awesome dessert selection in the back of the store. YUM!

This is a nice US retail chain - offering so much bio food. Great for shopping. Prices are somewhat up market. They also offer a very nice and fresh salad bar.

Several areas where cook will prepare meal for you. Good value. Decent food.
Greatest WF ever!!
It was wonderful Ate there. Love all the different eating areas. Takes forever to wander around though..might want to set a limit on time spent here - unless you plan to spend the day! I'm not saying that that might be really fun!
