I always love going to Whole Foods, admittedly there was too much meat in display for my liking but the veggie / vegan offerings are plentiful and the salads are beautifully presented! Such a great place to go with a hang over after I have been DJing somewhere, it is a bit dangerous though as you can spend a lot more than you bargained for!

Love foods!

By Frankay85 |

This is wher I fall in love with american foods... the perfect market, they take care about everything, nothing out of place, colors and quality for first. Paradise of fruits. You find very big choice of take away foods, hot, cold, vegan, sweet or salads, and big and beautiful space (inside or outside) to have your meal just there. Many services available for a great rest. Prices not so low but it doesn't matter, quality is very very high.

It's a whole foods - big one though

By Duncan P |

Dropped by to grab dinner from the food bar. Loads of options although I found that the food was a bit cold - should have been warmer.

Great selection

Great selection of food. Good open bar for food anytime of the day - Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Only downside is that it is pricey.

Interesting place for food

By Irit YE |

It has so many different options of food for every person to choose from. You can also buy meat and fruits there. The line for egg sandwiches was long. Probably it's good.

Great location! 90 minutes free parking! Get your parking validation at the register!

By Yehbut |

We found this location in the heart of LA! Great customer service with plenty to choose from. Everyone who we ran into that works at this location truly seems to like working here. We had the pleasure of cruising around LA on New Year’s Day so there was no traffic at all. Great location close to China town.

The seafood department and the cheese bring glory to this whole foods market

By RKZ90027 |

I've shopped in Whole Foods markets throughout the country (NYC, D.C. SF etc) and I find the people who work here to be the friendliest and the most knowledgeable. I always recommend a trip to Whole Foods for folks who are from out of town-because there is something magical within. The people who work in the seafood department, Rich, Miguel, Nelson and the others, bend over backwards to help:I do believe if I asked them to find me a husband they would try their best. But in the meantime Im more than satisfied with the quality of the fish-especially when its on special. In the cheese department, Amicar, bends over backwards to help me: they sell parmesan rinds at a bargain price and he often has cut some to order. (They are great in soup cooking Italian sauces or just chomping on). I am always amazed at the number of security guards who are on duty, some of whom, well never mind. They have a job to do and the store is immaculate both physically and no one asking for .....well you know. The staff really has it together here-it's a very well run operation. And worth a visit just to see what you CAN buy, even tho you may find the prices not to your liking But the specials are always attractive!!

Clean DTLA Location!

By MG3 |

This Whole Foods location is close to a lot of condos and hotels in downtown LA. I walked over for breakfast and was surprised at the size of it. There's a little restaurant inside with some patio seating, etc. but it was closed when I was there early in the morning. It's got a good selection of vegan items, which my family found helpful, but also caters to every other type of eater. Nothing bad to say about it. The staff were friendly and there were no big lines to check out.

A fantastic supermarket

By AndrewandMichelle |

Every time we travel to the States, we look for Wholefoods. It is more expensive than most supermarkets, but is a masterclass in how products are displayed with the focus on healthier (but not always healthy !) options. If you are self catering, you can't go wrong in shopping here, whether it is for prepared meals or raw ingredients. The one in LA on the corner of Grand Avenue and 8th Street is relatively new, so is probably better than most. Having said that, we haven't found a bad one yet !!

Super Busy, center of downtown LA

By KRTravels62 |

This whole foods was extremely busy, but you are still able to find everything you need. it has a parking garage and you literally enter through the garage once you park, super convenient. perfect place if you are going to host a dinner. picked up some cheese, crackers and wine and my guests were extremely satisfied with the mixture of flavors. love whole foods, location is great- gives you a break from all the fast food around.

A nice place

By Cloe A |

Great selection on food and deserts. All fresh and tasty I must confess this is my new favorite place to eat fresh and healthy

supermarket and buffet

By jamilla A |

We stocked up here on fruit, water and cookies for our hotel room. There is a hot buffet section that looks tempting and facilities in the next door bar and on the balcony to eat that. The display of fruit and veg was good and customers could weigh out their choice of nuts, dried fruits etc.

Excellent!

By rduinc |

When traveling to another city we try to explore the food scene as much as possible, but at the same time, we're always happy to be staying near a Whole Foods so we can have at least one, good, easy, and fast meal when we don't have time for anything else. Whole foods consistently delivers on providing plenty of meal options, along with some fabulous cookies and brownies. At this location we enjoyed pizza by the slice. There is a small counter section along with some tiered steps if you want to eat in the store.

Grocery

By ladhybug |

This is conveniently located down town, breakfast lunch dinner. clean and well stocked. I went here every day during my stay and found everything I needed. Staff was friendly and very helpful. I found everything I needed and more. There is a pub attached that I had dinner at and was able to sit outside. Even if you are familiar with Wholefood I would recommend this place.

Whole Pay Check

By Thomas V |

A good food shopping experience but the prices are as extreme as ever. Since there is no competition in downtown LA, they have a corner on this market and can charge whatever. And we paid. Good quality. Nice pretty store. Quick check-out. But expensive. But we had no alternative.

Happy Hour left me sad

By Thomas S |

Whole Foods happy hour left a lot to be desired. All food and drink orders are taken at the bar making for a slow process to get served. We had the oyster special with accompanying drinks. It had the potential to be nice, but the service was slow and there was no one to check on getting refills, only the ability to stand in line again. Once WF adds wait staff we may try it again, but for now we will go elsewhere for happy hour.

Some Food Products

By Thomas V |

We were staying downtown, so this location was convenient for buying some food products for our rental. We could walk here, so we came a few times. Always good quality.

Lunch treat

By Snakedoctor321983 |

My girlfriend and I went here for lunch. Massive selection to suit everyone including vegetarian and vegans.

Everything you need

By Bill G |

Whole foods is the absolute one stop shop for all things food and drink! Ready made food and everything you need to prepare a fancy dinner. Great place in DTLA when staying at The Level Furnished Living!!

Eye opening range of healthy foods

By urbanite88 |

If you are into the food scene and you aren’t from the States this is a fabulous store to visit and just have a look at all the dazzling array of healthy food on display. I loved the salad bar where you could just buy a pottle by weight. We were staying a 5 minute walk away at Level Living apartments and it was ideal for taking food back to have in the apartment. Prices were on the high side at Whole Foods but I thought for the range offered it was worth going there. You will really get the feeling of the health conscious ethos in downtown LA.

Very expensive for what it is

By elpaladardepauli |

This supermarket is a good option to buy ready-made food. They have many hot food options, plus you can make yourself the salad with the ingredients you want. The prices are very high.

I love this place

By CAdreamer |

Whole Foods Markets are good and this one is tops. I love their Hearst meats and local fish market. We create great meals when you get such great quality from them. Yes it's pricier than most but the value is there. Same with fruit, vegetables, eggs and cheese. They're doing a good job during Covid19 keeping things sanitized, masked but they need to control the shoppers a bit better by perhaps one way arrows. We're all over the place. Everyone that works there is masked and gloves. If visiting DTLA go here instead of Ralphs. Thanks Whole Foods for the nice shopping during this gloomy era.

Party Central

By ejksantafe |

I have never seen a Whole Foods like this one. There is a bar with restaurant and a DF on Friday nights. The market is fun too and has lots of prepared food that is really good.

Great place for a smoothie and snacks

By EliteTravellers |

We stayed at the Sheraton next door so this was a safe great place to pick up snacks, lunch or mid-afternoon snacks. Plenty of space, fast registers and good pricing.

What's not to love?

By mizeryztool |

Good size whole foods in DTLA- great hot/cold food offerings in a convenient location. They've got Roy Choi's Chega in there and the beefy t bowl wasn't bad although I'd try something different altogether next time

SO yummy

By Reviewer813 |

Highlight was definitely Roy Choi's Asian fusion part in the shop. Cannot completely remember the name clearly, but 100% recommend visiting as the pork belly was the tastiest I've ever tried! There is a whole range of other delicious foods here as well including many vegan options. Fantastic!

Great food

By Bec C |

As a gluten free vegan, travelling can be tricky. This place had everything from groceries to an in store buffet! Take away or eat at the benches. Loved it.

Very expensive

By mike b |

Stopped on a visit to l.a. for quick grab. I know that the chain is overrated and expensive but this one was out if this world. We ordered chicken and rice and some veggies and we payed $28. And the quality is nothing special to justify that. It is a trend but people need to be aware that there is absolutely nothing that they cannot find in other stores. Why double pay??

Best Place For Healthy Food

By Hannah13517 |

Whole Foods is the best place to buy healthy, vegan and organic food in the US. Pastries are great, you can choose from everything. I love the blueberry muffins. Excellent quality. They also cater for holidays and special occasions. Their Christmas turkey with side dishes and cranberry sauce is very good. WF also has pies, hummus and salads. It's a good place to buy beauty supplies, such as shampoos and moisturizers. They also have great wine from all over the world, and are very willingly to help you choose the best wine for each occasion. My favorite place to buy good food.

Convenient for downtown

By KaylaB874 |

The location is really awesome! They have all the hot food options I could want along with smoothies and desserts. I really like that they have a bar connected to the store as well.

Fantastic selection

By Tash Lees |

Was glad to find this place In downtown LA. Massive selection of meats, cheeses, deli and wines. And a huge buffet to make your own salads or hot food. Really great produce and healthy options

A great shopping experience!

By K G |

OK, we already know this is not your budget market but if you stick to the categories where they excel (meaning no one goes to Whole Foods for dog food do they?), you will be very happy! - GREAT meat and seafood selection with a terrific staff - Poke station with fresh made bowls - Beautiful bread and cheese selections - Pizza - 2 slices for $6 - Great hot food and salad bar (watch the weight!) - Gorgeous bakery - Roy Choi station for hot bowls - Coffee stand - delish Really, how did anyone live in downtown without it?!

Hot Spot

By ProfAragon |

This Whole Foods is the place to go in this neighborhood. People congregate outside and inside...it's likely one of the most hipster Whole Foods that I have seen or maybe it's just the neighborhood!

7/24/16

By Roxana Gonzalez |

I like this whole foods but what I did not like was that people were inside the store with the dogs walking around like nothing and they are no service dogs. also I did not enjoy seeing the homeless people walking inside the store like nothing just to go inside the restroom while the security guard was to busy trying the cheese selection,

It's huge lol

By Mayaa A |

I love this Whole Foods it's amazing. But they're macaroons aren't fresh when I try them ): but it's a great place. Their salad bar is so big n full of many options/

Brand new is good...you know your neighborhood has made when...Whole Foods moves in

By Sabrina N |

There are a lack of breakfast restaurants in downtown Los Angeles...probably for good reason. It is primarily the business district...but now that old office buildings are being converted to condominium lofts and apartments, some place is needed to get groceries and a bite of food in case you don't have time for a restaurant and even less time waiting in line at a packed McDonalds. Whole Foods downtown serves that purpose. Sure, a lot of people call it Whole Paycheck, but I found the buffet to be just what I was looking for...something different I could eat right away in a nice cleanly cafe-like environment. The store is new and you certainly feel the love for the store from the employees because WF created jobs in an area where none existed on that level before. I would go back.

My favorite place to go

By Carlos Soberanis |

When i travel to USA it's a "must" visit to buy all the great organic and nourishing products that they have. I really like the variety, the quality and the customer service. So when i have the opportunity i stock up myself with as much product as i can carry in my luggage because its very difficult to get that kind of products in Mexico. I really dont mind the prices that they have because i know i am buying the best quality. Please open Whole Foods in Mexico!! Looking forward to my next visit

Good for lunch

By amitgreen |

Loved the food. Its fresh and lots to choos. Also for vegitarian. You can eat there or takeaway if needed.

Great food

By kmee06 |

We stopped by for a small snack at the bar. The food was simple but good ! Great service. I would eat there again.

Whole pay check

By Diana R |

"Whole pay check," but good. I like the food it's just heavy on the pocket and I only go for specialty items!

Different

By Kirby P |

Stayed next door and got hungry. Walked over here and looked around. Very different from what I expected. But not in a bad way. A lot of healthy stuff and not a lot of “fried chicken, etc”! I finally got some kind of rice bowl with chicken and it was really good. Nice grocery store too.

Shop Downtown

By Thomas V |

This is where we bought some yogurt and breakfast foods for our temporary apartment downtown. Liked the convenience and cleanliness.

Whole Foods as good as ever!!

By Effie P |

We knew Whole Foods from our visits to Honolulu but the LA store is even bigger & better. It sells everything you'd desire & it looks fabulous... Just don't go there feeling hungry... Great range of products & excellent standard!! We love you WHOLE FOODS!!

Horrible Amazon making us wait!

By Oliver A |

Staff forced me and 7 other customers to use an Amazon kiosk to return items instead of helping out. The staff completely ignored us. Some of us waited 30 minutes or more to return items at the damn kiosk. Disgusting behavior and disgusting that Amazon is off-loading their work onto the customers. 🤬 Kiosk is hard to use, no place to put your phone while performing the acrobatics of putting your item in a plastic bag and slapping a sticker on it. Very poorly designed. 🤬

Sandwich Only

By allnines1414 |

Yes people either love or hate Whole Foods but I just wanted to comment on there sandwich station. Really really good. Great value for a wide variety of sandwiches. I had a tuna sandwich and the size was awesome. Highly recommended for a sandwich on the run.

The best lunch break..

By Valerio P |

Just few words to describe it. Are you looking for healthy and tasty food? This is your place! All is fresh and really delicious. You pay the food by weight and you can eat there....many different things to choose...cold or hot...also interational food. Simply the best.

best flower selection in LA

By Robb Cox |

energy surrounds Whole Foods experience in thus newly-minted heart of downtown LA with everything anyone could want

Just across Freehand Hotel

By Naomi N |

Large Whole Foods market with plenty eating space. Open 7AM-10PM so that makes quick bits or getting snacks easier. Chilled wine, cold brew coffee and other regular juices etc. Deli section includes poke, pizza slices and regular Whole Foods deli sections.

I love you whole foods!

By Jessica |

This store is my dreams come true. Insane amounts of styles, cuisines and meals. Hot to cold, all the salads you can think of. Amazing. Loved the sushi 🍣

Natural and healthy products

By chveiga |

It is a supermarket of more natural and healthy products. It has good quality (fruit, mainly), but is more expensive than other places. It also has a few tables to eat sandwich or pizza that they make themselves. If you want something special, buy at Whole Foods, but if you want to buy normal items from the supermarket, go to Ralphs (it’s nearer and cheaper).

Everything Under the Sun and Stars

By hakccmd |

Super impressive store with more pre-prepared food than most stores. Ideal for the millennial crowd flocking to new apts and flats in downtown LA.

First time in Whole Foods, Incredible visually.

By chsnhvn |

If you are a foodie, and love perusing through interesting shops, Whole Foods is your place and is awesome! I have never been in WFs before and I was in Los Angeles for a conference and didn't want to eat at another restaurant. I ultimately made a salad and some Salami to go and even though it was good with lots of choices, It wasn't worth the cost...the taste just wasn't there. Yet, WFs is spectacular and I could have made a 100 different choices which may have been far better! I was tired and in a hurry and my ability to make great choices was definitely impaired. The place is busy, and is very urban with a diversified clientele but everyone seemed polite enough if subtle hints of standoffishness was prevalent. When I was finished purchasing my order, and was waiting for my partner to finishing paying for his, I noticed that they had lots of employees and at least 3 security officers...all of which were on active alert! They didn't smile and they didn't commit to small talk. I actually liked that...WFs means business and even though their prices are absurd for many items, I want to go back, I want to stroll and really see what's available!
