This was a wonderful meal. I went with two female family members. All our meals were great, the atmosphere was casual ambience to romantic vibe. We did make reservations but I do not think it is necessary.

Very plush, high end restaurant. Staff were great. Friendly and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal which is prepared and presented at the highest level. There are expensive dishes but plenty of reasonable choices as well. Our only constructive criticism would be please upgrade your coffee. Probably the worst ever. Sorry. Overall worth the visit, Thankyou.

I was looking for a nice restaurant for a business dinner. I really wanted steak – since I am/was in Texas, after all. I decided on the restaurant Wicked Butcher because it looked nice. So, let me start by saying that the ambiance and the service cannot be faulted. Our server couldn’t do enough for us – she was lovely. My problem is with, of all things, the food. Appetizer: we decided on the Prawn Cocktail. We each received a bowl of ice topped by five huge prawns. They were the size of one’s palm! I don’t think I’ve ever before seen such huge prawns. They say everything is bigger in Texas – and this proved the adage to be true! The accompanying sauce was lovely. Five huge prawns were a bit much as an appetizer. Four would have been quite sufficient. As it turned out, my fifth prawn was not properly cleaned. I don’t like the idea of eating prawn poop, so I was happy to not eat it. Main Entrée: I ordered a bone in filet. The bone was quite burned, which imparted an unpleasant bitter flavor into some of the meat. I enjoy the charred flavor of barbecued steak, as much as the next person, but this was unusually and unpleasantly bitter. I was disappointed because I’d expected more from this venue. Unfortunately, the meat was, effectively, flavorless apart from the bitterness of burned bone. What a shame! I had such high expectations for it. I’d ordered Au Poivre sauce to accompany the meat. That, again, was lovely and served to mask the unpleasantness of the bitter parts of the meat. Now, in Wicked Butcher’s favor, my guest ordered the Rack of Lamb, which I was told, was really nice. For the table we’d ordered Mushrooms and Brussel Sprouts. The Mushrooms were ok – you can’t really mess them up. However, disappointingly, the Brussel Sprouts had a similar burned and bitter flavor. Dessert: I was really disappointed with my Entrée, so I determined to order something indulgent and chocolatey to take away the unpleasant flavor of the main entrée. I asked for a Chocolate Souffle with Crème Anglaise sauce. I cannot fault the texture of the souffle – they did a good job with that, however, the flavor... oh my! It tasted as though someone had swapped out salt for sugar. I have never had a chocolate souffle that tasted as salty as this. (Yes, I’ve had salted caramel, but that is very pleasant in comparison to this.) I took a couple of bites to make sure it wasn’t my imagination. Anyone who knows me knows that I love the flavor of salt – but not in this particular dessert. I felt that it was inedible, so it was returned to the kitchen. I paid a few hundred dollars (before tip) for a meal for two. I feel that the quality of this particular meal was definitely not worth the price paid. I am not vindictive enough to say, “go elsewhere”, but I would strongly suggest you choose alternate items.

A stunning restaurant, in a busy area, great for groups, couples or solos. A magnificent bar space, beautifully designed and unique spaces - dark and moody lighting and furniture create an eclectic atmosphere.

This location just opened about three weeks ago, I'm told. Decor is very nice. We sat at a booth in the bar section. Service was quite attentive but not intrusive. We ordered the petit filet and rack of lamb, with creamed spinach and cacio pepe sides. Everything was really great. Presentation was beautiful, meat was perfectly cooked, and it all tasted amazing; the vanilla Worcestershire steak sauce was criminally tasty! The ONLY knock (and not a big one, just a pet peeve of mine) is a martini served in a tiny, tiny glass. The first round came in a normal sized glass, but the second came in the old Nick & Nora style glass. I know this is the trend, but c'mon - I'm an adult, give me an adult sized drink! Won't stop me from coming back next time I'm in town but I'll order beer or wine instead.

so good we came back - the steaks in here are to die for... Nine of us and all thoroughly enjoyed their steaks - some had fillet, some rib eye and some the cowboy ribeye (all were cooked to perfection). Will definitely be returning next time in Dallas. The staff are also excellent and lovely touch the glass of champagne for everyone on entry.
Always a Unique Touch On the Classics
Wicked Butcher is within the Comerica Bank Tower in downtown Dallas. I’m going to call the ambiance as cowboy and farm ranch art deco. Its coloring is sleek navy with a dramatic bar and interchanging art/designer versus cowboy wall coverings. Wicked Butcher boasts a menu by Culinary Director Richard Triptow, replicating the success of its Fort Worth sister restaurant. I had the wedge salad unique with pecans and the hamachi unique with oranges and roe. I also had the sea bass with miso and basmati rice. All were very good. They have popover bread for bread service with rosemary butter and I could have eaten maybe 5 of these. Despite setbacks from the pandemic and unexpected mishaps like burst pipes, the team led by restaurateur Nafees Alam persevered and was patient to finally bring this modern steakhouse to fruition.
