Quality restaurant with great atmosphere. Many unique items and daily specials. Prices are high but taste and service out weigh the cost.

Excellent service and a great atmosphere. I was here with a large group and seated in a private dining area. The drinks were fabulous and a great variety. I had the grilled shrimp skewers, petite fillet mignon, mashed potatoes and the chocolate cake. The shrimp was flavorful and the mashed potatoes were creamy. While my steak was cooked to perfection the cut of meat was not the best which was disappointing. The chocolate cake was really delicious and a good ending to the meal. I’m not sure if I would go back again but glad I tried it.

We were celebrating a birthday in Chicago and my brother made rez here. None of us had been here before. It was a rainy crappy Saturday night in the Windy City and thank goodness Wildfire has valet parking! We didn't even ask the price because it was raining so hard, we didn't care! Appetizer: calamari- perfectly fried, came with Ranch dressing and Cocktail Sauce....really?!? Yuck! We asked for marinara and got some. Soups: Baked French Onion - very good, especially is you don't care for too much broth, very cheesy; Chicken Tortilla - tasted like tomato soup to me, had a couple of tortilla strip and chunks of chicken on top (I sent it back); Seafood Bisque - exquisite Entrees- Horseradish crusted Filet - husband said it was delicious and cooked properly; Ahi Tuna- Mom said it was also cooked perfectly and delicious; Filet Wellington- adorable single serve pastry, sister in law said it was excellent and properly cooked; Caesar Salad with grilled Salmon- niece said salmon was perfect and salad was good; 3 Filet special each crusted with your choice- brother got horseradish, blue cheese and parmesan, his favorite was the Blue Cheese, all small filets perfectly cooked; Macadamia Nut crusted Halibut special - OMG delish!!! Crunchy nutty crust, perfectly cooked fish WOW Sides- Roasted veggies - zucchini, brussel sprouts, peppers, onions. Brother said they were fabulous; Au Gratin potatoes- wonderful! More casserole-like than soupy, which I was very happy about! Cheesy yummy goodness. Service was excellent Place was completely packed when we sat down but the noise level was surprisingly low, thankfully!

We had a family dinner at this nice restaurant and we all enjoyed it very much! The steakes where excellent, all sides tasted very good and desserts where very nice (especially the chocolate chip cake..). Worth to mention is also the very good service provided by our very nice and friendly waiter Marcos M! We recommend this place!!!

We had a good value pleasant dinner at Wildfire in Chicago. The menu is large and varied. The prices are reasonable. The wait staff are charming and professional. The décor is pleasant. The location is excellent. This is a "lettuce entertain you" restaurant. We recommend Wildfire

Good value for the money with a nice atmosphere. I started with the asparagus salad. The asparagus was nicely cooked with a nice mustard vinegar dressing. Chopped eggs were piled on top. Those could have been left off in my opinion. I had the swordfish. It was a bit overdone and greasy but had good flavor in the center. I had the roasted vegetables. They looked like a pile of gray mush. Good service. I'd go back if I was in the area but would order something different. We arrived at 7 pm and they were already out of the special.

When the hostess blows you off despite mutual recognition from a previous social gathering you might be inclined to chalk it up to a busy Saturday night, but when the waiter gives you the bum's rush just because he wants to close out it's unacceptable. We expected so much more from Wildfire. It won't be our first choice for a special occasion again.

A group of us went to this restaurant last Saturday night and had a great time. It's a big place inside and well decorated with photographs of a time gone by. It was very busy but we had booked and were quickly shown to our table. After ordering our drinks we decided on our main meals. Our salads were served in a timely fashion as were our main courses. I had a half rack of ribs and thoroughly enjoyed them. Everyone thought our meals were wonderful and it was a night to remember. I would thoroughly recommend Wildfire Restaurant to anyone who enjoys good food, service and somewhere to leave feeling rather special.

If you've ever been diagnosed with gluten intolerance or celiac's late in life, you know how hard it can be to enjoy dining out ever again. Not here! Most restaurants have a designation for a few items that are safe, or a super short list of items you can eat, which always leaves you dissatisfied and envying other diners. Not here! My friend and I are both gluten sensitive and were thrilled to be presented with a full menu of perfectly indulgent options, just as any other diner would receive - even French onion soup, as gratin potatoes, and a bread basket! Combine that with the stellar service and it really can't be beat! As part of a business group we went to another famous, high end chain steakhouse the next night that *claimed* to have a GF menu. It didn't even come close. Wish we could've gone back to Wildfire.

Some same high priced. But the quality is much higher than other pizza places. Just want a cheap Pizza? Go to Pizza hut. Want highest quality dough for the crust, imported San Marzano tomatoes for the sauce. Best imported cheeses and meats, go to Wildfire instead.

This is a chain restaurant that I enjoyed very much ....1st time I tried it was in DC and that was very good...well this place is just as good , consistency always makes me happy....they have a very good menu , plenty of choices...Parking ... they have valet parking which I feel is over priced $11 for Lunch , $15 for Dinner is a high price , and why is dinner more money... Dont let the parking discourage you its still a good value

Excellent food! Also great gluten free choices. I would recommend the gluten free goat cheese pizza. My husband and I left very delighted with the service and meal.

Food was very good and the quality was delicious for the price. Highly recommend if you don’t want to dig deep for the pricy steakhouses all over the city. Only got pics of the onion soup and calamari. Steak looked too good to wait.

My husband and i celebrated our 2 year anniversary here! Food was awesome. Atmosphere was good but to my surprise there were a lot of kids during our visit! Unfortunately we were seated right next to a table with three wild children. Other than that everything else was great! Definitely going to visit again!

Visited with a friend for lunch today, the venue is beautiful, and the menu options are plentiful! I had the tomato and mozzarella stuffed burger, and my friend is gluten free and there was a whole menu available for her to choose from. She also had a GF burger. The food was delicious, and service was great. For dessert I had cherry pie - heavenly. And my friend had GF chocolate cake - really lovely and light. All in all great meal - would highly recommend.

It was an unusually cold and rainy April night that we were treated to dinner at Wildfire while visiting family in Chicago. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the atmosphere, service , cocktails and food. Best Grouper I ever had ! Servers Corrie and Wilson were over the top with their professional attention to every detail. The only negative we could mention is that the booth we were seated in was very tight between guest and the table. We felt a bit squeezed in. Even with a bazillion restaurants to try in Chicago, we will definitely return on our next trip to Chicago and visit other locations when we travel !

What a great find!! The food was excellent. Nick our server very professional checked in on us many times to make sure we were happy with everything ordered. Have to try the Greek salad and the macadamia nut halibut to die for. Best meal we have had in Chicago!!!!

We are Lettuce fans for a LONG time. Wildfire in Oak Brook is our favorite, but we live downtown. Halibut season started on April first and Sue was craving it. We walked over, sat down and they did not have it. Other local restaurants do (Devon) and they said they would not have any until MAY. MAY? We ordered other things and were kind of satisfied. The seafood platter was okay but jsut too much fried stuff. Sue just had a salad. Meh.....

Had dinner with a few associates and loved the cozy, classy atmosphere. Our waiter was amazing, he was an expert on the menu and provided great suggestions. The bisque was great and my small sale could have fed 5. My drink was Old Kentucky and it was fabulous. Friends had a great looking steak and a aromatic pizza. Again loved the jazz and atmosphere.

Trust your server, bartender, and multiple hosts - let them take care of everything, ditch your phone and connect with others! Business dinner at a cool, round table became a fun, connecting experience. We evolved as a group and kicked butt the next day! Hosts and servers super-professional. If I were travelling alone on business, I'd comfortably eat at the huge bar or a quiet table and feel safe and taken care of. Clean, Safe and Perfect.

Not sure how is that I've been here quite a few times and my food is always subpar. I went there last night knowing better but thought hmm maybe this time it will be decent. Especially since this was my first time at the Erie location. The salmon was oh so tiny and just okay. Side of spinach was good but not sure how they could mess up a side of spinach. Staff and service are great but I'm kinda paying for and expecting the food to be grand as well. They won't get me here again. There are a ton of other Lettuce Entertain You restaurants that are excellent so I'll resort to those from now on.

Looking for a wonderful meal after arriving for the weekend. Hotel we were staying at recommended this establishment. We were not disappointed! They were very busy so we opted to sit in the bar which overlooks the main dining room and open kitchen at the back. Great view of the restaurant and we didn't feel secluded from the scenery. I ordered a flight of martinis they were delicious! We had tuna tar tar as our appetizer, it was incredible. The special of the evening was filet medallions. We both ordered those with different choices of crusts. They were to die for! I only wish I had room for dessert. We will definitely return we visit the city again.

We have been to Wildfire many times before while visiting Chicago. We love the atmosphere and the food is always consistent. We decided to do it again this time when we went. It did not disappoint (for the most part). We started with a chopped salad and split the larger filet. We also shared a double stuffed baked potato. Our filet and potato were both excellent. The only marginal item was the the chopped salad. If the management of Wildfire reads this review, that would our only suggestion to “up your salad game, Wildfire”. A wedge or regular Ceasar salad would have been great to have as options. One item that truly surprised us was how great the house wine was. It is a good price point and tastes delightful. If you are in the area and want to give Wildfire a try for a consistently good steak, you should. We would recommend!

We’re in Chicago often. Not sure how we’ve missed this place. We loved our dinner here. It’s an easy walk from many Mag Mile hotels. Staff were welcoming. We were taken to our table a few minutes before our reserved time. Wait staff was superb, attentive, helpful with our choices. Martini flights were creative, fun and delicious. Crispy fried calamari to die for. Best we’ve had in years. Definitely fresh. The fillet trio was delicious. Sea scallops were exceptional. Everything was perfectly cooked. Pecan pie was disappointing. I’d recommend trying a different dessert if you’re getting dessert. If we hadn’t gotten dessert, I’d enthusiastically give it a five.

I went as a friend had been before and really wanted to go again. Well the ribs were horrible - dried out not ANY moisture and the sauce was hard on top The baked potato was HARD - when I make mine they are soft and you can see the butter melt - NOT here. For the cost very disappointed :(

I had visited Wildfire a few years ago and took some friends for dinner. First, it was so chaotic in this restaurant that I had a bad feeling. I am not sure if they were understaffed or if they just operate at this pace. The first thing I noticed was the layer of dust on the wood work surrounding the booth we were in. Service was slow and inaccurate. The server never returned to the table, once we received our food. The steak was overcooked and cold....the wrong dressing was brought for the salad...the baked potato was so cold, it would not melt the butter. The drinks were not refilled. NO condiments were brought to accompany the steaks. One steak ordered medium rare was well done...it was returned and the second steak was cold and also improperly cooked and delivered by a manager. It was as if this restaurant was so busy and chaotic that there was a disconnect between the ktichen and the server. I would not recommend it ...no attention to detail. PURE SCHLOCK.... It was embarrassing to take guests there.

I really enjoyed this place. First, their own craft brew Porter was excellent. I would put it on par with Belle's Double Creme Stout and Founders Breakfast Stout. My cedar plank salmon was prepared perfectly. I had two guests with me that both ordered chicken breast of some sort. Each received two large chicken breasts. They could not eat them all and raved about the taste and juiciness. I also had cherry pie which was also very good. I would definitely go back to Wildfire when in Chicago.

While visiting Chicago, we went to Wildfire with a large group of family for dinner. We were seated at a round table that allowed for easy conversation and the wait staff was very good with all the different ages present. As with any steakhouse, the beef was quite good, and others enjoyed seafood dishes. The kids even loved the hamburgers. While there were a few miss steps (a steak cooked properly but not hot) they were corrected immediately and without further issue. A good job by the staff!

We came here for my wife’s birthday. Our server Phillip was terrific bi loved his attitude, happy demeanor and attentive service. He was the best! We had their chopped salad always cold with just the right amount of dressing and filled with chicken, avocados, tomatoes, and lettuce. We loved the Alaskan Cod with green beans and broccoli as the side. No room for desert.

We decided to kind of "wing it" and stumbled onto Wildfire. The restaurant was busy, so we asked if we could sit in the bar area. The gentleman at reception was very kind. We got a great table where we could see the bar and dining room. Our server, Nick, was very efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly. A great start! My wife had the Caesar salad and Lemon Chicken. I had the crab bisque soup and tenderloin medallions. The food was spot on! The sides of creamed spinach and mash potatoes were delicious! I would recommend Wildfire for a great night out!!

Since we arrived and gave the name to the lady she said we have 3 people in front of us which is fine , in spite of that there were a few empty tables as We were waiting we noticed people giving there names after us and seated before us. We approached the host ( lady and a guy) they were very rude and aggressive.we were really disappointed and felt discriminated. I will make sure everyone know this.

I attended a dinner meeting on a Sunday evening. Surprisingly the place wasn’t crowded. The staff was attentive and the food was delicious. The small Cobb salad dinner plate was enormous! Enough to feed 2-3 people. You may want to consider sharing that meal. My prime rib was cooked to perfection. My veggie side was not warm but in the waiters defense we were a large group and veggies don’t stay hot for very long. The desserts were to die for. Another item you can share! Overall I recommend this place.

We ate at Wildfire as part of a rehearsal dinner/private party. The food and service were top notch. They were very attentive to our guests, and accommodating to our late comers.

Wildfire Chicago is a great restaurant/steakhouse, and is consistent in quality and value! It is always a great place for me and the “guys” to get together, have a few cocktails, and enjoy good food and conversation! They do have booths around the dining area for a bit more quiet!! Great specials and wine pairings are available, but save room for dessert!

Four of us went there for lunch and were quickly taken to our table. Our waiter showed up and took our drink order right away. We started with the small "Chopped salad" which we all shared. It was excellent and there was plenty for four people. I would suggest that you give this a try as you will not be disappointed. Two of us had the halibut. I was cooked and seasoned perfectly and was one of the best pieces of halibut I ever had. The steaks were also cooke as ordered and full of flavor. The service was great the food outstanding so you can appreciate why this place gets a 5 star rating. A must try when in Chicago.

Last night in Chicago and we went to Wildfire as a group of 20. We had prior reservations and a limited menu for the group, but everything was great. Strip Steak, Chicken with Avocado and greens or Salmon were the 3 choices and all looked fantastic and there were many clean plates after dinner was over!! Twice baked potatoes served family style as well as grilled vegetables were very good as well. Prior to the entrees we had the chopped salad and several appetizers. Dessert was Vanilla Ice Cream with seasonal berries or cheesecake. Verygood service and a great meal !!

I hate to say this, considering this is one of our meeting host's favorite restaurants, but it was only OK. Either that or she built it up too much. I am Chicago often for business and have had some of the best meals of my life in this wonderful city, but Wildfire was not one of the time. The flavors were mild and I had to cut around a lot of fat on my steak. The apps and sides were just not overly memorable. The service was very good though.

We went for Apps after we played some Escape Room across the street. Great place for some apps and some beers. Just skip the attraction across the street.

Wildfire is a beautiful old school Chicago restaurant. We had dinner for 7 on Friday night. The service was excellent in a very crowded restaurant, but the food was average. Three of us had the Friday night grouper special. It had a lot of potential, but tasted like the specials had been plated in the start of the dinner rush and sat under heat lamps until someone ordered them. My daughter had the Friday night cod special, which was the size equivalent of a fish stick. I don't mind paying a lot for a good meal if it is in fact a good meal, but almost $400 for an average meal was disappointing.

I think this place is great! The lighting is dim for romantic evenings but they also have large tables for family and friends. The portions are not too large. The servers make you feel right at home. Steak, sweet potato, and wine are my go-to.

There are so many steak houses its hard to choose. This was close to our hotel so we were in. they accepted and took reservations on line. Fast, easy and accurate. It has a nice open ambiance where you can see and be seen. an open kitchen gets you in the mood with tantalizing aromas and sights. Service is always on in this place. Many servers and assistants checking on you. Marvin made our evening all go smoothly as our server. My wife and i shared the Goat cheese and the Calamari as starters and were very happy. The Calamari light and crisp as it should be. For the Mains we had the Petite Fillet and the Skirt steak. Bother were done to order coming hot and tender to our table. Nice presentation and flavor throughout the meat. I like the open wide tables and space in this steak house. Formal and old school openness with enough light for the menu but cloaked to make you feel you are in a top notch restaurant.

Old fashioned, classic style steak house heavy with the dark wood trims. The atmosphere casual and relax with a lively vibe. We had Happy Hour while waiting for the rest of the group. Highly Recommended to get the Premium Red Wine flight and the Martini flight. The complimentary bread basket was delicious, corn bread was my personal favorite. The Filet Mignon was awesome. Melts in your mouth like butter. The mashed potatoes was creamy and fluffy. Porterhouse steak was another favorite as well as the Cedar Plank Salmon. Save room for dessert! One of the best Cherry Pie I've ever had. Definitely a very memorable experience. The service was attentive and friendly. Even with a party of 9, they managed to give us a personal attention. Wine, cocktails and water glasses filled. Highly Recommended. My new favorite restaurant in Chicago. Looking forward to coming back on my next trip to Chicago.

HIGHLY disappointed with our experience. we had a group of more than 10 people. one member was late, no one came over for a drink order, then they brought out salad that we didn't order and that had no dressing, then we had two people that ordered Medium steak that came out as shoe leather. our scallops smelled old and the bread was stale. service was very untrained and slow. i have done many reviews for trip advisor, this was the absolute worst. Let Us need to seriously get on this, we will never go back. Now, in the spirit of fairness, i have also been to wildfire in Lincolnshire which has been excellent.

Our family enjoyed The Wildfire very much! The atmosphere was very nice. Menu had a large variety to accommodate varied tastes in our party. Beer flights available. Bacon wrapped scallops were amazing! Prices very fair.

Several reviewers have said this place is a bargain in Chicago. My opinion is if you want bad service and cold food at middle of the road prices, then come on in and set down. But be careful and don't get your clothes dirty. There was so much dirt and filth on the back of our booth that I took my finger and inscribed "Please Clean Me." I ordered the prime rib, supposedly their "house specialty" and the highest priced item on the menu. It was ordered "medium" but was served extra well done and COLD. Once we flagged down our missing in action waitress it was returned to the kitchen and a new thinner slice was served that was cooked rare. Our waitress never returned for refills or to inquire about ANYTHING. We noticed lots of floor managers walking around with their earplug communication system but they are oblivious to problems and customer service. Just bad--food and service. We should have just gotten up and left. I assure you NO ONE would have noticed or cared. Grade: F.

I absolutely love crab cakes, and their oven baked cakes did not disappoint. The salmon was a bit overcooked, but that won't prevent me from giving them another try.

My son and I had a great experience at Wildfire. We were in Chicago for his birthday and our server immediately asked if we were celebrating anything. Nice touch....which resulted in a birthday brownie/ice cream treat. He really enjoyed the kids burger and i had the shrimp and crab bisque followed by the scallops. They weren’t the biggest scallops, but they give you plenty...probably 8 or 9! Overall outstanding! Will be back.

The food was good-my filet minion was very good. The service was efficient and attentive. It is pricey but it may be on par with Chicago prices.

Visited here yesterday - my partner had the fillet minion which was apparently perfection. Can also recommend the martini flight which gives 4 mini cocktails - fabulous !! Great service, nice atmosphere - my only criticism would be there is only one vegetarian option - would be nice to have a choice but that wouldn’t stop me going again or recommending it .

We visited here on Sunday night and the place was booming. The service was excellent, I was given samplers of a couple of the beers and when I finished my beer was quickly offered a refill. We had the crab cakes, French onion soup, rib eye steak sandwich and coconut shrimp. I'm told the crab cakes were excellent but the shrimp was a bit dry (I don't do coconut or corn so neither good for me!) and the soup was nice (really overloaded on cheese!) and steak sandwich fantastic. Would return again...

The drinks and food were wonderful. Great service. Quiet, laid back atmosphere. Everyone very friendly. Would definitely go back!

My expectations were high before eating here, which often means the experience will fall short, but expectations were met and exceeded. Our server, Sandy, was a consummate professional and helped with our selection process. My New York steak was done to perfection and my husband was pleased that they offered a gluten-free menu and he was not made to feel a nuisance, which sometimes happens. We shared their delicious chopped salad and for dessert, an amazing flourless chocolate cake. Nice ambiance and attentive support staff. I highly recommend!

Amazing food and service and great gluten free menu and advice Prime rib was amazing and server was really good Well priced wine options as well

We went on Mother's Day so I was anticipating a wait even tho we had a reservation for 5:30 pm. We arrived about 15 minutes early, ordered a drink at the bar but had to take it with us because the table was ready at 5:30! Also, there were some reviews that said the service was slow. They were super busy but our service was excellent! Might have been the great server we had (wish I could remember his name). We didn't wait for anything! Food was outstanding. I would definitely return to Wildfire.

Such beautiful restaurant and excellent staff. This place offers a delicious variety of steaks and delicious onion rolls. The staff is excellent at people that suffer from food allergies. I contacted the restaurant a few days beforehand and they were prompt and very helpful with response to things that they could offer or change to accommodate my needs. Suffering from allergies to just about everything makes it very stressful when trying to go out to eat . But this restaurant made me feel at home for the first time in almost a year from suffering from spontaneous hives. They didn’t treat me like a burden or a problem customer. They came to my table and walked me through each step and checked on us through out the meal . We left feeling like we were welcomed and that means a lot. They were very knowledgeable and very precise in the execution process of this. Thank you so much we will definitely be back anytime we are in Chicago!

We had a 25th Birthday lunch for my cousin and this was the perfect spot. We went on a Friday afternoon. Although we made a reservation, there wasn’t much traffic. The maître d’ told me that lunch on weekdays is usually pretty quiet. Our server was attentive and the lunch menu was both tasty and satisfying. We munched on corn chowder bisque, barbecued shrimp, calamari and such. Can’t wait to go there again.

Wildfire, although a chain, is fashioned after a speakeasy and is a fun spot for dinner. Black and white photo's of days gone by adorn the walls. The menu, focused on steaks and seafood, offers additional options for everyone's taste - even a handmade black bean burgers, for example. Enjoy!!

We love eating here. The food is always very good. The coconut shrimp is delicious. The black bean burger is very good. They have great desserts.

Wildfire offers food and drinks in a classic dining setting of the 1940s/1950s. Prepare for Frank Sinatra and the likes all dinner long. Good choice in menu and wine/drinks. Service is good: my plate took more time than expected to arrive at my tabel - the manager offered out of his own a free dessert.

As usual food was delicious, service was impeccable, & birthday dessert was comped & it was great (not just a scoop of ice cream)! We always celebrate here as it’s my daughter’s favorite restaurant!

Wildfire's chain of restaurants in the Chicago area have been members of the Chicago-based Lettuce Entertain You empire since the first location was opened in 1995. My favorite destination, the closest to my home, is a 159 West Erie Street, in the city's bustling River North neighborhood. Open from 11:30 to 8:30 Monday through Friday, 3 to 9 on Saturday and 3 to 8:30 on Sunday, it is a steakhouse, an upscale eatery featuring prime steaks and North American fare in a spacious and polished interior, a modern day 1940s supper club. I started with a bowl of shrimp and crab bisque with corn and peppers, a jumbo shrimp cocktail with zesty cocktail sauce and a Caesar salad with Romaine lettuce, parmesan cheese and garlic croutons. For my entree, I chose a filet mignon Wellington with bearnaise sauce, mushroom stuffing, broccoli and au gratin potatoes. A different but very satisfying approach to steak. For dessert, I opted for key lime pie with graham cracker crust and fresh whipped cream. Other Wildfire locations are in Glenview, Lincolnshire, Schaumburg and Oak Brook.

Eating at Wildfire is like eating in a fancy study with the heavy booths and darkly colored atmosphere. It’s kind of cool. The food is really good. I had a lobster soup and a cauliflower crusted flatbread which I really enjoyed. The service was attentive, and prices are high but not unreasonable.

Here is the issue: you cannot hold the stick from both ends. Are you “fine restaurant”? No you are not. Are you children / family restaurant? No you are not. Are cheap / everyday restaurant? No you are not. Are you high quality yet relatively expensive restaurant? No you are not. So you are “look worm” restaurant and I don’t likes it. Nothing was “bad” but on the same time - nothing was “great” or at least “very good”

1st of all it was so cold in the restaurant I had to ask for multiple napkins to cover myself. We asked to have the air conditioning raised a bit but don’t think that happened. It felt like a meat locker. So uncomfortable. Then the food was below mediocre. Definitely not worthy. Way too many restaurants in Chicago to try, unfortunately we wasted our time, money & energy on this one. Bummer. They need to raise their game to keep up.

Loved my experience here. The whole 1940’s vibe/decor, the service and of course the food. Loved my special day there.

Just about everything is always perfect. Service, food, choices, specials, dessert. Yummy. I live in Colorado and am in Chicago at least once a year. I go to the Wildfire Grill almost every year. You can make this a huge spend or a smaller spend if you choose. It has been the same every time since 2005, my first meal here. Yummy!

A very cool old school Chicago steak house. The menu is the typical steak house fare. Wonderful meats, potatoes, mushrooms, creamed spinach etc. fast, friendly and efficient service. Food was good. I ordered my petite filet very rare. It did not come that way. It was rare but not very rare. I didn't say anything and it was delicious and tender anyway. But it could have been rarer for my taste. Loved looking at the old pics on the wall!

Hadn't been to a Wildfire in over 10 years since we moved away from Chicago. Glad to see it still earns it's high ratings. Service was exemplary with Ivy. She was ON IT. And kept us posted on when food/drinks would be coming out. Really great, well timed service. The chopped salad. Get it. My son doesn't even like salad much and ate it. Perfect mix of flavors and textures. Two ordered the skirt steaks. Excellent. One ordered a burger - Excellent! Good mushrooms. The only let down was the filet, while not bad, wasn't as flavorful as I was expecting and had quite a bit of fat. And the roasted vegetables, again, while not bad, were ok, many but many better options. Great dessert choices. Off menu GF option. Oh, and the cocktails?!? Yep, so good. Go on Wednesday for a good selection of 1/2 price wine bottles.

We stopped in for a drink and appetizer (we were going out later for a fancy dinner), but we have eaten here several times. I would recommend this restaurant and we come back when time permits. It's a good upper average steak house, not crazy expensive but not a cheep place. I usually get the filet but for this trip we got the goat cheese appetizer along with some martini's. We'll return to this or another location every so often. It's in the same class as Coopers Hawk for food and drinks.

I only heard about the Wildfire Grill our second-to-the-last-day in Chicago, when I immediately booked a quiet table. Our maitre d’ Tim clicked with us right away, and the rest is history! If you love a great steak or fancy a juicy fish filet with the perfect macadamia breading, visit the original Wildfire Grill!

I travel a lot and I go to Chicago quite often. I've dined many places, but this remains one of my favorites. They have a superb menu selection and wine list. I have Celiac disease, and this restaurant has a fantastic amount of gluten free choices and they are all delicious! If you're in Chicago and are in the mood for a fantastic steak dinner; Wildfire is an excellent choice!

Steaks were tender, flavorful and cooked to perfection. Special (Beer-Braised Short Ribs) was also tender and delicious. Good sized portions for salads (I'd suggest a split if you have a date) and sides. Wine list has a lot of good choices.

Wildfire in Chicago has been one of my favorite restaurants for over 15 years. We go they at least 6-8 times a year even though we live out of State. We had dinner there on Sunday night and found that while the food was great, they are having some problems getting the steak temperature right. Last night one of our party asked for a filet to be cooked medium rare +. While the other 5 steaks came out correct, her filet came out well done. The food runner took her steak back; however, it took well over 15 minutes to get a replacement. Everyone was finished before the replacement came. A manager brought the steak in a carry out bag, as requested, and apologized for the problem. He also too the steak off of the bill. We were there about 6 weeks ago on a Sunday night and had the same problem with one of the steaks being overcooked. The only other issue we had last night was that one of the party ordered soup, it never came. I'm not sure if the server didn't order it or the expo person didn't put it on the tray with the salads. No biggie - the server didn't charge for that either. Other than it was a very good meal. Salads and sides were great. We split 2 deserts (apple pie and chocolate brownie) and they were also wonderful. I'll continue to visit Wildfire regularly and hope we have better luck with the steaks. I can't wait until the Halibut comes back - it's terrific!!

There was a great buzz to this place as soon as we walked in, even with it being a Tuesday evening! The service was very efficient and friendly. We shared a starter and dessert, which was perfect as the portions are large! I had the white wine flight and my husband had the beer flight - both really good value and a great way to try different options with different courses! I had the salmon main, which was delicious and the cookie dessert was incredible!

We were a group of twelve and everyone enjoyed their meals. A very nice menu and excellent food preparation. Service was superb. It is not often a restaurant can serve a large party and everyone gets their food at the same time....very impressive. Our waiter was extremely accomodating. I really enjoyed the beautiful decor as well. All in all, a great choice when in Chicago.

If you like steak then this is the place to go in Chicago. Perfect service if a little pricey but it's worth every cent.

We had 7 in our party. Made reservations a day or two in advance. Our appetizers were the crispy fried fresh calamari and the jumbo shrimp cocktail. Both were very good. My filet medallion trio was delicious. The tables were very close to one another. But, our waiter was phenomenal. We had a wonderful time!

We were looking for prime rib on our first night in Chicago and we found it at Wildfire. Everything about the place was GREAT!!! The service was excellent. They took our temperature when we got there, which we appreciated, and asked us to keep our masks on when the servers came up to our table. Again, we thought this was a totally reasonable request to keep everyone as safe as possible. Tim, the host, was very friendly and made us feel right at home. Our server, Allan, was also very friendly and helpful. My husband's prime rib was very flavorful and my crab cakes were some of the best I've ever had. There were actually big lumps of crab in the patties instead of the mushy cakes you get elsewhere. The prices were very reasonable for such great food in a city where eating out can be very expensive. When Tim found out it was my husband's birthday, he sent a special dessert to the table, on the house. We are so happy we found this place and will definitely come back if we ever get to Chicago again.

The bone in ribeye was cooked to perfection, the flight of martinis a great addition, the beet salad was amazing! Good service along with great food! We would definitely come back!

We had a family dinner for 6. Kids menu worked great for pre-teens and the adults split between steak and seafood specials. The meal was well prepared and served. Nice job handling food allergies.

As one of our favorite places for special days (birthdays and anniversaries), we know that the food, service and atmosphere will be top notch. Our server, Philip, was very knowledgeable about the menu. The grilled halibut he described was even better than we expected. We also had our favorite appetizers, grilled shrimp and french onion soup! While we were enjoying some coffee after our meal, Phillip surprised us with a little anniversary cake! What a thoughtful touch! We will be back again very soon.

We met friends for dinner and drinks. The food from prime rib to the scallops was all very good and well priced. I didn't care for the house Cab but that's my problem. I highly recommend visiting.

Seated in the cozy back dining room is always quieter and more pleasant than the center (noisy and crowded) room, so we felt lucky. Although we gave drink orders in the first 15-20 minutes and actually got them, the evening went seriously downhill after that. It took about 30 minutes for our waiter to report back that the special was no longer available (and this was at 7pm). We reordered and nibbled bread for about an hour. We did receive our appetizer and more drinks, but no food. After about 90 minutes, we begged our waiter for an update and he was certain the food was coming soon. After almost an hour, we requested the manager. People had been seated, served, and were ready to leave and we had no food. He was apologetic and went off to check. He did not return, but food for some of us arrived after about 10 min. The potato was cold, the steak overdone and tough, and one person never was served at all. We finally have up and left. Although the manager and server apologized (and of course we had no intention of paying anything), what a disappointment. It was the annual holiday visit to Wildfire by one couple and it is usually a lovely time . The manager additionally failed by not offering a gift card to return. There are excellent steak houses on most street corners in Chicago and one would assume they need to protect their business. It will be a long while before we try Wildfire again.

I love the martini flights & great bar but just spent $225 with my wife but the ribeye was totally filled with sinew and was inedible. Wife’s petite filet is good, service is good but avoid the ribeye.

Another great LEYE (Lettuce Entertain You) Restaurant. It is a little off the the main area of Michigan Ave, but easy walk or short ride. Food was delicious, nice big salads. Their speciality is steak which we did not get but they looked great. Large menu with lots of options, so something for everyone and prices are reasonable. Will definitely eat here again and service was fast.

the service was excellent , very attentive. Food was tasty, fresh, served hot. A wonderful setting for a birthday luncheon

We learned about this restaurant from friends, and we really appreciated the recommendation. I ordered the halibut special and my guy had a beautiful seafood platter. We both had small salads, as well which were fresh and tasty. We then shared a piece of strawberry rhubarb pie which was the perfect ending of a lovely meal.

Service was very nice. Locally very loud. Eating so well. Soups set too thick and too much cheese on them. Potato gratin had a very strange taste. Meat great quality but taste a zero number. The tiny thing that was really good was the salad. Wine too warm

We went as a family. They were very accommodating for my teenage boys. The steaks were cooked to perfection and very tasty! The filet was fabulous and the prime rib was equally as good. The au gratin potatoes were my favorite as we all got a different potato to share. Service was excellent. We will be back on our next trip to Chicago.

Our table ordered filets, scallops, turkey, and fish for our entrees. All were exceptional. I ordered the macadamia encrusted halibut special with rice as the side. It was wonderful, crispy and lightly sauced. The portions were generous. The apple pie dessert was awesome. It was so good that I didn't want to share it. It was an easy, no hesitation 5 star rating for the food. I hope to go back to Wildfire next time I'm in Chicago.

We really enjoyed our meal at wildfire. Hubby had trio medallion filet special and I had the turkey burger. Burger was excellent and steak was cooked perfectly. Server was super polite.

Stopped by to have a nice meal while on a trip to Chicago for a few short days. The bread, steak, fish, and martinis were excellent. Our server was nice but seemed sick of his job and not very enthusiastic. He did not deliver our food and only checked on us once. I know they are busy and are trying to give space but for the cost I like a little attention. While I did not love the customer service by our server I did love everything else and will come back the next time I am in Chicago.

The only marginal item was the chopped salad. If the management of Wildfire reads this review, that would be the only suggestion I would have, "try to up your salad game, Wildfire." A wedge or regular ceasar salad would be great to have as options. One item that truly surprised us was how great their house wine was. It is a good price point and tastes delightful. If you are in the area and want to give Wildfire a try for a consistently good steak, you should. We would recommend!

This was a great choice after a long flight to Chicago, meeting two friends who were equally tired. None of us wanted a giant meal, but the concierge at our hotel recommended Wildfire. "I took my Mom there and she loved it," the young concierge said, reminding me that I probably looked like an elderly parent myself. The atmosphere at Wildfire was delightful - a 1940s steakhouse. They had an excellent selection of soups, salads, and appetizers so that each of us in our party found something we liked.

By combining an excellent job at rejuvenating a classic 1940’s era restaurant and delicious food, Wildfire in Lincolnshire was able to land a spot of one of my favorite restaurants. But, this restaurant was had to struggle before it could be great, having to push forward to a successful career after an onslaught of poor meals during my first few visits. The first few times I ate at Wildfire, I was quite disappointed. Firstly, much of the food we ordered was not cooked to our specified liking . For example, a steak ordered to a medium well, which had no trace of being barbequed, braised, or broiled besides a faint grey coating around the meat. Also, the applesauce I usually ordered was accompanied by pieces of plastic. In addition, MichelinReviewer on TripAdvisor states, “My opinion is if you want bad service and cold food at middle of the road prices, then come on in and sit down.” This quote sheds light on how Wildfire had some poor attributes that detriment its experience. However, Wildfire began to excel as I got older, focusing on great service and food. The halibut I ordered the most recent time I’ve been there was cooked excellently, accompanied by a savory glaze and buttered asparagus. Topped off with thick and creamy potatoes. This meal did not need any assistance from the amazing servers who were routinely coming around the room. They excelled with small talk and asking if we needed anything. In conclusion, I would give this restaurant a 4 out of 5 stars, because of the poor service and food in the past and occasional mistakes, I would take 1 star. But, I would give this restaurant 4 stars for the exceptional experiences you can have now. I would recommend this to a friend because of the good service and food at this restaurant and the experiences and fun you can have while there. We ate at this restaurant on Easter Sunday evening. We were in Chicago over easter visiting family and have ate at Wildfire on previous trips and the food has always been first class. It started off well and then our starters/appetisers arrived. My crab cakes were great however my husband order a chicken Caesar to start......this is where everything took a big down turn. after the first bite of the chicken he went to take a second bite and realised the chicken wasn't cooked. Not under cooked but RAW. It had been seared on the outside but was absolutely raw in the middle!! We called the waiter over and showed him and he took said sorry and took it back to the kitchen.....that was it, no one came back! When the plates were being cleared we complained again and told the guy that the chicken was completely raw and that it was totally unacceptable. again no one came over until a while later. The manager (I believe) came over and loosely apologised but not in the fashion you would imagine. we got our main course which were fillets and they were ok not anything like we have had at Wildfire before. We didn't have deserts. I don't thin that we were the only ones complaining as the two tables beside us were having issues also. Our server came over at the end and did make an apology about our experience and they cancelled our bill. It was such a disappointing experience as it is normally one of our stand out meals when we visit Chicago. They did say that they were having a seriously busy night but I don't think that is an excuse for the standard of food served.

Each year, our daughters and teenage grandson come home to Valparaiso Indiana for Christmas. We make it at point to go to Chicago for an event and dinner. This year, we met at Wildfire after some shopping the day after Christmas. We could not have picked a better restaurant. Gluten-free options for my wife, bacon wrapped filets for my daughters, Parmesan fish for me, and even some pizza options for the teenager were big hits with each of us. The atmosphere was very comfortable yet elegant for this special occasion. The cost was great, too.

Me and my boyfriend came here for my birthday dinner last Friday. I had the "Stormy Night" (can't remember if that's what it's called or not) Martini and it was the best cocktail I've ever had. I was so happy with my drink choice, considering I usually don't like the mixed drinks I order. I ate the New York Strip Steak, and it was, hands down, THE best steak I have ever had. My boyfriend ordered the steak that was a little less cheaper, and it was still phenomenal. We both got the Au Gratin potatoes as our side, and it was so delicious. I got a free dessert for my birthday, which was a hot brownie with ice cream in the middle, topped with a candle (: I am SO VERY satisfied with our visit. The service was top-notch. I would definitely suggest this steakhouse to someone else.

Had all three courses (mini pretzels, steak and cheese cake) and found them to be well done. Decent ambience, beer and service all make for a good location for a business meal. Nothing really stood out as exceptional with the evening, but equally a good time was had by all and would be happy to go back.

We ate early as we had a long drive home. They have a great menu at affordable prices and nice atmosphere. Our waitress was great and knowledgeable. I had prime rib and Grace had halibut. Both were wonderful. The problem was the sides. wild rice and hand cut fries. Both arrived cold and the rice was a mix, not wild rice. They were replaced, but It drives me crazy when chefs don't pat attention to potatoes, rice, vegetables and other side dishes. Waitress and manager were lovely and comped our wine, but do they ever sample ALL the food. Small stuff keeps me from coming back☹️

Food is correct, nice scallops, but the ambient, the furniture and the service are great. Wood, and learher... thanks.

Celebrated a DePaul graduation here. Arrived at 4:00 and stayed until 6:30! great service to our party with children. Food was tasty and varied. Prime hamburger, barbeque chicken, strip steak, veggie pizza... Wait staff sensitive to the varied needs of our party...

We met friends here whom we hadn't seen for many years and all four of us had delicious food, well prepared and interesting. The service was absolutely impeccable – the waiter accommodated all my allergies with a smile, and my food was every bit as delicious as everyone else's even though they had to accommodate several restrictions. Our friends arrived late, and there was never any hassle about hurrying up. My husband and our friend really enjoyed the "flights" of beer and wine. I can't wait to go back.

I don't write reviews. We have been to wildfire several times over the years, every time we come to Chicago. The last time being 2017 so it's been awhile. The service was completely awful. We were ignored for the first 15 minutes of being seated, and then after our drinks and meal were finished we waited minimum 20 minutes before the plates were taken away. Both filets were overcooked. We used to look forward to our Chicago trips specifically for this, and we will absolutely not be returning.

Ate lunch here. I had the mushroom-crusted pork chop with broccoli side, all very good, and my friends had bison burgers, which they enjoyed. Service was great, atmosphere comfortable, quiet. Prices a bit higher than we are used to, but not bad for Chicago. Would return.

Went here for a business dinner. Service was good. As for the food, the rolls were great (best part of my dinner). The salad was ok but completely uninspired. The only vegan option offered was a rather dull penne primavera with red sauce. With so many restaurants thinking creatively these days about vegan options, Wildfire was disappointing....at least if you are a vegan.

Four of us went to celebrate a birthday. We went to Wildfire as it is a Lettuce Entertain You establishment, and we had a number of gift cards and coupons. This was the first time we had visited the Chicago location, but we had been to the one in Glenview and were not impressed primarily due to how loud that facility was and the really poor service. Here we were seated in a booth around the perimeter, versus in the large center area, and this was very nice, and not loud. We ordered the fried Calamari as an appetizer which while not spectacular was finished quickly, so no one was complaining We had four separate entrees, a couple of filet dishes, short ribs and a chicken and ribs combo.Nothing spectacular, the three filet medallions were not that tasty, but I ordered them with out one of their specialty crusts, so maybe they were designed for a crust, versus simply with a side of Bearnaise sauce. The problem was again the service, especially after the entrees were served. Getting deserts and after dinner drinks took for ever, even the check was slow. At least in Glenview while the overall service was slow, they were very quick to bring the check! The worst was the bulldozer buss person. Although most of us were finishing up, we ask to not take plates away until all parties are finished. Although we tried, to tell him to slow down, he went ahead and started gathering all of the servings. We were temped to stay STOP, but should that really be necessary. Worst was when he asked one in our party if they wanted more water. Thinking he was asking if he should pour more water into the glass on the table, they said no, there was enough left for our needs. He took this as we were done drinking and removed the water glasses! The individual did not look like a new hire, so I have to guess that it was a matter of training versus understanding what we were asking, though that may have been a contributing factor as well. Overall, given the many alternatives in Chicago, I won't be rushing back.

While the waiter was terrific and cocktails delish, the cod special was just okay. Didn't knock your socks off and the side green beans were over cooked. The dessert was yummy, though. I'd go again, but not for special occasion.

There's something for everyone on the menu here. Friendly and attentive service. Really like the sauce and crust options for the steaks. Fun, high energy vibe on a Wednesday night. Highly recommend.

Brought my family for a wonderful steak dinner and was not disappointed. The service was excellent and the food as good as I remembered - prime rib queen cut perfectly medium rare, beef tips seasoned wonderfully. During the meal, customers behind us decided to pick an argument with the manager, Jonathan. (I say this because he visited the table to address an issue with the bill and the customer's completely jumped on him, even though he was completely professional. Seriously, I couldn't believe what I was hearing from this older couple. They were outright rude and if I hadn't been raised better, I would have turned around and gave them a piece of MY mind.) Jonathan was GREAT! Kudos to him for keeping his cool. Too bad OUR meal was disrupted. Just try and save room for dessert - I never can!

Went to dinner with friends and the meal and service were outstanding. We all shared a flat bread(pizza) mushroom and onion, delicious. Then our friends shared a bbq chicken and my wife and I shared a spit roasted chicken with a baked potato side.. It was enough for two and delicious to boot. We all had desserts, our friends had the chocolate cake and we had the cookie in a pan covered with ice cream, to die for!!!

I made reservations through OpenTable and added a couple of requests. They exceeded my expectations. I mentioned we were celebrating my husband's birthday; they surprised him with a Lava Cake. Beautiful atmosphere. Great service tableside. Fast bar service, great food. Highly recommend.

Order a prime rib mediums and fillet medallions medium week, didn't come out correctly. Flavors were good, but certainly disappointed about the under-cooked temperature. Environment is nice and drinks (martini flight) were good. Too many other options in Chicago to return here.

Went here for a later dinner. Great steaks and amazing wine flights! Servers were very nice but took forever to get our main course and the restaurant was half full.

We stayed at Godfrey Hotel and decided to try this place out since we could see it from window and reviews were good. It kind of reminds me of Maggiano's. Great old bar, cavernous room, and atmosphere. Here's a view pros and cons from my perspective, but overall I'd probably go back. Just not first choice. Pros -romantic atmosphere -service was good -food was tasty Cons -kind of noisy -pricey -close tables, packed Good food and experience. Just not my first choice, but I'd go back.

-Warm and welcoming lodge atmosphere. There are lots of rich woods and exposed stone-work. -Bartenders are always friendly. -They poor a nice cold martini in a generous-sized glass. -The bread rolls are good although I miss the warm loaf of onion bread they used to serve instead. Seems like they started skimping a little by eliminating this. -I used to always get the filet trio--but I've noticed the portions on these have gotten smaller and they don't have as many options for crusts on the meat. -Their signature bacon-wrapped filet with horseradish crust is still phenomenal--served with a delicious horseradish cream sauce. -Creamed spinach is some of the best I've ever had. -Giant baked potato with sour cream and chives is exactly what you want with your steak. -Price is still reasonable for what you get--especially compared to other local steakhouses.

Wonderful restaurant like the old supper clubs. Always busy good food. Background music is nice. Good service. Like Oak Brook the best.

Came here with my fellow Road Scholas. Dinner served family style, 2 appetizers, two salads, two entrees, two desserts More than enough food. Blake was an excellent server. Too busy eating to take pictures

Goodmorning my favorite Audience, My GF n I joined her friends for dinner. Greetings were nice at entry of restaurant. I didn’t pay attention but our server was a Lilltle blah, the reason I say that it was a party of 5 and 4 of us was there, he really didn’t want to seat us because of fifth person wasn’t there and it’s showed thru his actions n body language. I told him the person was running late by a couple of minutes. SO here we start, our waiter said “everyone at this table has to put face covering on when I take orders bring drinks foods, condiments etc etc.. “THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER” I n my sweetie have been eating during this pandemic, But “Alan “with the glasses took The Cake Some our orders were messed up, brought us less condiments with our loaded baked potatoes, had to to keep asking for water, napkins. But I noticed a lot of tables when their server came to table they wasn’t heckled but putting face covering on. And this is “ THE KICKER when Alan brought the check he didn’t mention or stood there for a minute or two before EVERYBODY put face covering on. I’ve dined there before and spent aleast 350-400 easy food n drinks and never received such unattentive server. Somewhere after bring there for maybe 20 minutes or so I brought up you guys “ Fogo de Chao” is right here walking distance and “ Cíte” is not to far both have EXCELLENT SERVICE and you won’t feel as You don’t want you here. Food was good SERVICE was UNSATISFACTORY . And I had to ask another gentleman that worked there what our waiter name was Ridiculous..

I really enjoyed Wildfire... the menu has great options, it was lively without being overbearingly loud, and the prices were a lot more reasonable than many other steakhouses in the area. The host who "greeted" us must not enjoy his job because he was far from welcoming, but the lounge service was great, and our dining room service was efficient. Overall, would definitely return again.

We had dinner with five businessmen and me. The food was absolutely fantastic and all of us enjoy every different item we had, from steak, fish and chicken. And the sides were really good as well. Unfortunately, the gentleman that waited on us did not know to serve the only female at the table first. He did not ask me for my drink order first and the men at the table had to point that out to him. Then when it was time to order our meals the same thing happened again the men at our table had to stop him and ask me what I would like to order. That was a bit disappointing in such a nice restaurant. But other than that we had a very good experience.

Such a delightful and delicious dinner! Tried both the filet and the prime rib, both were excellent. Our server, Ivy, was terrific and made us feel like a king and a queen Price was very reasonable for a Chicago steakhouse: 2 drinks, 2 appetizers and 2 entrees was $145 ( without tip).

The service was good and so was the food. Over the years Wildfire has become a bit more expensive. At these prices, I would recommend Gibson's over them.

Good enough steakhouse. Nothing wrong with the food or service, but know there are just others nearby that are better.

Friends had selected this restaurant, and we went because we wanted to spend time with them, not because we were interested in going to a steakhouse. Much to our delight, Wildfire was much, much better than we’d expected. One of our friends has some severe dietary restrictions due to life-threatening allergies, and both the waiter and kitchen could not have been more accommodating. Some menu highlights and things to note…..They run out of specials quickly; I had to have my third choice (but I was still very satisfied). The shrimp and crab bisque is especially wonderful; it’s so good you’ll want a bowl instead of a cup. The steaks are fantastic—as they should be. Wildfire not only serves flights of beer, they serve generous flights of both red and white wines—something I’d never before experienced.

Great drinks, atmosphere, location, food selection, and customer service! Steaks were cooked perfectly. Definitely recommend putting a crust on your steak!!

Terrible service. Every time came right at opening and waited a long time before we were greeted. Multiple servers standing around talking to each other and no one cared to acknowledge us. Waited a long time to receive drinks. Unpleasant experience, will not be returning.

Wow, we had such high expectations for Wildfire and were very, very disappointed. We came to celebrate my daughters birthday, and what was supposed to be a special meal, became a major fail. Service was incredibly slow; I honestly think our server was overwhelmed, he seemed to have a lot of tables. We waiting a very long time for everything. Asked for kids waters, none ever came, so we had to ask to 3 different people until we finally got water. I will say our appetizer was delicious..however our steak came out well done, when we ordered medium rare, was sent back and we had to wait while everyone else got to enjoy their meals because they had to remake it. Super disappointed. No manager offered to fix or compensate anything. We again had to wait for drinks and refills. Lastly we waited over 30 minutes for our bill to come, after flagging down multiple employees. Our entire dining experience lasted a total of 2 hours, but NOT BY CHOICE. All due to poor service. My poor daughters birthday dinner was ruined. Would not recommend, would not be back!

Very good food and a hearty meal but light options as well. So Wildfire while a steakhouse like any good one, has other just as good options, and they did not disappoint. I actually got the fish - which I do lots of times - at steakhouses. It's what the crab covered rainbow trout. Very tasty! There was almond covered halibut also ordered at the table and then the true carnivores ordered all manner of steak and were very pleased. I got this mini sampler dessert that had key lime pie and peanut butter pie.....wonderful!!! We had good wine and mixed drinks as well.

The ambience was excellent, I felt like I stepped back in time to an era gone by. The service was very good, our waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful. The food was okay, I felt the ribs could’ve been better, the cookie dough skillet was excellent. The burger was nice.

Had a wonderful dinner last night to celebrate 6 years together with my husband. I had made our reservation on Open Table, and “checked in” to the restaurant on Facebook commenting that we were celebrating our anniversary. Shortly after our entrees were done, our amazing server Cory came out with a complimentary dessert with a candle, stating “a little birdie told me you’re celebrating something special”. We were blown away! Such a (relatively) small gesture and we were just floored. That is customer service right there! Kudos to your social media team and to Cory for providing outstanding service all night. We will be back!

Three of us had dinner and enjoyed the food and service. I had the coffee rubbed bison filet and it was excellent. My wife and mother-in-law had herb crusted chicken and they were very pleased as well. Priced as most chop houses are but the food was very good.

We came here after our daughter's bootcamp graduation and they made this very special day even more special! Our waiter was patient and so nice, the food was delicious and they gave us a nice round table with plenty of room. Definitely recommend this place

One of the few steak places to live up to the hype, I chose Wildfire for our four guy foray into Chicago steak based on this having the highest ratings (on Google) for ~$50 average cost. This is a legendary Chicago chain that deserves all the accolades given and will get me back. Our group didn't wait long on a Wednesday evening and enjoyed a prime spot to look out over the whole restaurant. The relaxed and friendly server was on his game throughout the whole night and made good recommendations. Coming from the cornfields, dropping $8 just to park is a bit stupid but at the end of the day definitely worth treating myself to a big city dining experience. I ordered the horseradish bacon-wrapped filet mignon and even though it is the most expensive menu item I have ever purchased was made perfect along with the others orders. It's experiences like this that need built up to - should I come here once a month I would become spoiled rotten and probably turn into a horrid piece of self loathing carbon! Probably inevitable since I've since fallen with love with Fleming's Prime Steakhouse with its better steaks and value. However, Wildfire maintains an essential downtown dining experience savored best as a treat just a few times a year and boy does it leave an impression.

Our group of 10 adults went for dinner on a Saturday night. We had a reservation and were seated right away. Our server was attentive throughout the meal. The menu has many options - certainly something for everyone. The food was fantastic and the portions were generous. Everyone enjoyed their meal, which were all cooked perfectly. I opted for the filet wellington, which was so delicious. I highly recommend the mangotini, as well. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed. Can't wait to go back!

We look forward to when they get their Alaska Halibut. It is Macadamia crushed with a lemon butter sauce served with asparagus and one side. The chopped salad is a great start. Try their Martini or beer flights for samples of great drinks.

Several went for a business dinner. Several had been before and recommended the steak. It was ok, nothing special. Okay dinner in a city of opportunity.

4 business colleagues for dinner. First tip -- eat at the bar counter for best service and just fun! We had steaks and a house specialty - almond encrusted halibut. Amazing portions and perfect preparation. Great wine list - California wines well represented. Big meal and great dining experience overall.

My girlfriend and I had lunch at Wildfire Chicago. She had the Romanian Skirt Steak and I had the Macadamia Encrusted Halibut. The food is excellent and the service is exceptional. The Stormy Night is a very tasty and unique beverage. The dessert tray has a variety of tasty options. Just a great restaurant.

The food from Wildfire is absolutely delicious! They never disappoint. The crab cakes & salmon are highly recommended.

We were visiting Chicago for one night the day before Thanksgiving and wanted to experience a good quality dinner meal that would still be welcoming to children. Our family of five (mom, dad, kids ages 9 and 12, and grandma) made a reservation through Opentable. We were pleased that when we were running late, we were able to use the app to move our reservation time without penalty and had no problems doing so about 90 minutes prior to arrival. When we arrived to the restaurant, the host greeted us by name. We were seated at a round table. The dining area was mid to low lighting, but certainly enough to see properly. Our waitress was professional and relaxed - not hectic or obnoxiously formal at all. I ordered a trio of steak medallions, which tasted very good. They were perfectly cooked and flavored well. If you like horseradish, I highly recommend the horseradish crust on the steak! I offer a slight recommendation for improvement that these medallions could probably be priced around $35 instead of $40 and customers like me would find them to be a much better deal. I think I feel this way because you only receive the steak plus one veggie, so your plate has “enough” in quantity of food, but you might be expecting a potato/pasta AND a veggie, or two veggies, or a soup or something else with it for a $40 meal. We also ordered a chef’s special of fish (flounder?) was very good, as was the coconut shrimp. We also tried the kids cheese pizza - which was adult flatbread appetizer quality. Our meal all together, with the 2 kids ordering milk and the 3 adults ordering water, came to $150 plus tip. With that said, the complimentary bread brought to the table is beyond good - you get three varieties - onion rolls, pumpernickel rolls, and soft cornbread - all warm with creamy butter to spread! Overall our meal was very good, and while we might order different (less expensive) choices for the adult meals in the future, we would still return to this restaurant - the quality of food and service was excellent.

Had a great dinner here. Impressed that despite what at first seems very upscale, very kid friendly with a kid menu and even brought out his food first. Bread promptly brought to table. Corn bread was great, if you like actual corn in it. Pretzel appetizer was good. Range of choices for the meat eaters and some vegetarian choices too! The salad as a meal is HUGE. The filets were great especially with the bernaise sauce. Desserts were wonderful especially the warm cookie with ice cream. The only glitch was getting cold coffee, however, the waiter was great and promptly fixed it. He was very attentive and mindful of what the kids should or should not have and when.

As Wildfire is a Lettuce Entertain You Restaurant, it’s no surprise that’s it’s superb. The menu is extensive with something for everyone. They even have a gluten free menu. I enjoyed the fish, and my friends went crazy over their steaks. Prices are a bit high but with it. There is valet parking, although we were able to pay to park on the street. A great place to come to celebrate a special occasion.

Wildfire was suggested by a local for a typical Chicago steakhouse. The service and atmosphere were great. They have a huge gluten free menu with many choices. Very impressive. I wasn’t super hungry so I skipped the appetizers and salads. I got a small filet and a twice baked potato. They were good but nothing special. The steak had a flag that said “allergy” on it. It tasted like the steak had absolutely no seasoning. I guess they were being abundantly cautious, which I appreciate. But given the large gluten free menu, I would have expected them to know they could use basic seasoning - salt, pepper, garlic, butter - which would have gone a long way for some flavor. Glad we went, but my steak was better at our hotel restaurant. The rest of my family enjoyed their meals - turkey special, scallops, and pepperoni pizza. The flourless chocolate cake (GF) was amazing!

One of the best places to eat, our waiter was fabulous and the device was impeccable. A definite must if you are in the mood for a good steak/prime rib.

Drinks were generous. Calamari was A+++. Chops and Salmon were excellent. Good value for downtown. A must eat stop.

Downtown for business - by myself; what to do for dinner. Wildfire was PERFECT. described by the waiter as a 1940s streakhouse - it was so good. Try a wine flight - always a fun way to explore new wines! Tre filet medallions - fantastic!! Service was outstanding (you need to feel a little special when it’s just you, all by yourself).

We had excellent service and food here. Atmosphere is nice, even though it's one big room. It wasn't noisy.

Had the opportunity to have dinner with my brother the day before Thanksgiving at this well known steakhouse. My brother recommended this place as he had eaten there on several occasions and I’m so glad that he did! Since it was the day before the big holiday, the restaurant was not very crowded so it was much quieter than normal (from what I was told). We were seated in a nice comfy booth above the main floor. Our server was very attentive and took very good care of us! I had the house salad bowl to start. A nice variety of fresh vegetables with hard boiled eggs, croutons and a red wine vinaigrette dressing that was so good! For my entree I had the petite filet mignon that was perfectly prepared. I ordered well-done and it came out perfect! It was tender, moist and melted in your mouth! I didn’t need any kind of au jus or anything else.it was the right size too. Being that the next day was Thanksgiving, I decided to skip dessert but had a bite of my brother’s home made pumpkin pie and it was light and so yummy. Besides steaks, they offer a wide variety of other selections such as seafood, chicken, barbecue, pizza, salads and appetizers. The next time I’m in Chicago, I will ask my brother to take me back!

The food was mediocre, the service marginal, it was cold and noisy. Some may like it but they can have it, we won't return, there's so many other much better places in Chicago.

Great option for those who are not looking to spend a fortune for good steak dinner. Prompt service and pleasant art-deco surroundings. A good night out.

We live for the Macadamia Encrusted Halibut when it comes in. The service is excellent here and the food is served quickly and hot. They have the best baked sweet potatoes and great deserts to finish off the meal.

To whom this may concern, just my opinion Wildfire Restaurant would be a great investment Out in Las Vegas along the Strip , I really enjoyed the atmosphere, great customer service , food was delicious, drinks were great, not very expensive , I found another new 5 star rating to attend in the Midwest

We had dinner on a Saturday night with a reservation made about two weeks in advance. Only one person had soup for an appetizer and that was very good. The prime rib was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The au gratin potatoes were also excellent. The Wellington beef dish was also perfectly cooked. We shared dessert and that was a great decision. Server was a bit absent at times but we were not in a hurry so it didn’t really matter to us. Restaurant is what you expect to find in an old time Chicago steak house. Great meal.

Over the past 10 years of going to Chicago at least once per year, I only missed going to the Wildfire one trip. I regretted it for the whole year and felt like I was home when I walked in the door. This time I was with one other person who had traveled with me to Chicago. I built a picture of perfection for her and she agreed after dinner that I was more than accurate. Mindy was wonderful and answered every question with authority and guided our choices. This is just a wonderful, old style (as in Sinatra) steakhouse. They have a gentleman who takes care of the water and who has been there every time I've dined at the Wildfire. Wonderful as always!!!

Wildfire was an excellent choice. The service was exceptional and I do mean exceptional. Right off the bat, they were extremely aware of one diner’s gluten allergy (mentioned in my reservation note). They handled GF issues better than ANY restaurant I’ve seen yet. Every person starting with the hostess, including servers (Anna was absolutely great) and bartenders (we moved to the bar because we were originally seated between two large parties that arrived right after us, in the middle of the dining room, despite my quiet table preference, but we declined trying the booths on the edges). The food was excellent, in my case the NY Steak Alforno was flavorful and tender. Au gratin potatoes a bit cold. GF bread as a starter, wow. And quite the GF menu options, make it so easy to navigate the menu. My wife enjoyed the bison burger on GF bun (not the best bun in the world but it’s a gf bun and an excellent bison burger) and her baked potato was excellent and large. Where I really have to commend Wildfire is the way they handled my wife’s gluten allergy. Every person we interacted with on the staff was aware of the gluten allergy and helpful and accommodating - particularly Anna, even AFTER we’d moved to the bar, if she walked by and heard us discussing a menu item, she’d offer how to make it gluten-free, which I really liked. And the gf menu is posted online. Some steakhouses claim to be gluten-free and it’s really weak in my opinion, simply because they offer steak and seafood. Anyone can do that. What Wildfire does is much much more than that. Not only is the staff awareness well above what I’ve seen from other restaurants, but the gluten-free bread offering is great. That way you don’t have one diner who gets the nice fresh hot bread while the other diner sits there. And offering the GF bun for the bison burger (ok, it’s not the best gf bun we’ve had but it’s not bad, and heck, a bison burger is a great menu option anyway, nice choice!). Of course, the food was excellent as well. I found the NY Steak Al Forno really flavorful and loved the shallots and garlic and herbs, the sauce was great. And a sizable portion (lots of other restaurants would give you less for that price) as well. Other than the minor seating issue, this was 5+ stars!

Wildfire has become a usual culinary stop in Chicago and we have yet to be disappointed. We had a nice booth on a Saturday night and everything from great cocktails to the warm chocolate chip cookie dessert was great. I was hoping to try the weekly Saturday night special of a Filet Wellington but after ordering the server circled back to say they had run out. The crusted NY Strip I ordered instead was perfect and so good as were our side dishes. It's a fun atmosphere and very good food. We will be back as always!

Nice and peppy feel to the place.. Bright and sunny smiles all around.. and with some good food.. we had scallops wrapped in bacon - absolutely superb and the fresh halibut- soft and nice crispy breading.. cut into sheer white goodness. Salmon was perfectly done - medium rare.. and the best thing.. Craft Belgian Beer-- high alcholol content but what a superb taste must must try..

Wildfire is big, buzzy and traditional. Good service, extensive menu - it was a little hard to pick but we did the right thing by sticking with what they do best: steak. Portions are reasonably generous, the meat done perfectly and fork tender. Great sauces, sides, etc. The Caesar salad is enough for 3, fresh and crisp. Good martini, too! We did not have room for dessert. Would definitely return.

Food and service was very good although the drink order took about 15 minutes as the bartender was overwhelmed. The food came as ordered and was served quickly although the entrees came almost too soon after the salads were delivered. Our check was $384 for 5 adult meals and 3 cocktails and one bottle of wine. The check included an annoying 3% surcharge (which can be eliminated upon request) "in lieu of increased menu prices". Raising prices another 3% would be less offensive to many diners for an upscale restaurant.

I came here with friends for a birthday and were not disappointed. The service was superior to many other restaurants in the area. We started with the large chopped salad, served family style it was enough for all five of us. The ribs were excellent, as were the filets and Manhattan Steak special. A place not to be missed!!

is the best that I can say. Place was empty on Sunday night around 7PM and had a sign on the door that they were closing early due to Mayor's request (holiday weekend, I guess). None of the 100 other places we past had signs or were closed or were empty, so maybe it was a "no walk ins, we have no reservations so we are closing early deal" Food was fine. I had a bison burger that may have been beef. Steaks were enjoyed by those who ordered them. Salad with salmon was good. Their dinner rolls (onion) could be great it they were warm. As we were one of two or three parties there I thought maybe they could get warm ones to us but they couldn't. They were out of one of the desserts

Had a wonderful family style dinner for Thanksgiving! Plenty of food and all was delicious! Nice restaurant!

I like this restaurant a lot as they have a variety of entrees (from beef, game, chicken, and salads) in a casual atmosphere. My biggest complaint is with their bison, my favorite dish on the menu, as it is cooked inconsistently. I always order medium rare/medium and one time it came medium well (overcooked game is dry) and one time it came rare. A steakhouse should no better.
Daddys' Day
Found street parking a block away. Always make sure to book a reservation and be on time, especially on special occassions or holidays. There were some that hadn't booked, juat showed up and had to wait a while. There were some that was late and missed their Reservation and had to wait. Reservation was definitely needed and helpful with the gathering crowd. Upon arrival we were seated. Food and service was amazing. We didnt feel rushed and the food was on point (delivered in time) as ordered.
