Dinner Date Night

By LAmusic85 |

Loved our dinner at Wisteria! Our waiter was one of the best, so personable, funny and attentive. So helpful with all the menu options as well! I had the most delicious strawberry martini and I can't remember what it was called, but it was amazing. The hushpuppies were yummy, but didn't care for dipping them in the homemade ketchup. I ordered the Fried Chicken and it was definitely a memorable dish. The chicken was super juicy and full of flavor, the corn pudding was great and I loved that they paired it with collards and roasted mushrooms! My husband ordered the Veggie Platter and got a heaping helping of several different vegetables! I wish we could have stayed for dessert, but we had a show to get to. I hope to return for another dinner soon!!

Great! Try the fried chicken!!

By MacauleyB47 |

We sat at the bar and loved this place. Usually I'm not a fan of sitting at the bar...feels out of sorts like you're at the kids table, but this one actually preferred over a table. Very comfortable. Everything was great. Service, the hostess, the bartender, the food, the wine and beverage options. They had a separate gluten free menu, which is always nice for celiacs, such as my husband. He had the chefs special of the day and I had the fried chicken, collards, and corn pudding. Eat the corn pudding while it's hot!!! Very important. That's when it's the absolute best so don't let anyone start a conversation when the food arrives, wink. It was so good, we went back a week later for the same meals. The wine selection is great and if you're unsure you can get a taste. The bar tender knows his stuff so ask him if you need help. There was something about this restaurant that is palpable that says the staff is happy and the chef is talented. They were always packed on any night and it's a thriving restaurant and atmosphere. Seems a highly successful restaurant to my mind.

excellent reasonably priced restaurant

By 3DGs |

service, food and price were all excellent...had the steak and my wife had the chicken...the only bad thing was a drip from the AC just behind my chair...we had a mother meal with them 2 nights later and sat at the bar (the bar tender was excellent)...will go back

Wonderful job accommodating our large group!

By Keega16 |

We took 10 people last Saturday night. We did have a reservation which was important as this place is popular. They did a great job with our group, joining tables so that we could all sit together. Service was very good and food was excellent. For appetizers we had the black-eyed pea hummus, fried calamari - includes large pieces of fried okra, and pumpkin hushpuppies. The hush puppies were a bit moist for my taste, but others in the group liked them. The hummus and calamari was very good. Entrees included Shrimp and Grits, Beef and Veal Meatballs, Quail and Pork Chops. Everything was delicious! Great experience.

A special celebration dinner!

By turkeypink1 |

We had a fabulous family celebration at Wisteria! The service was great, the ambience was perfect, and the food was delicious! The pork loin, the filet, and shrimp and grits were some of the favorites at our table. Thanks, Jason and crew, for helping to make this a memorable night for us!

Excellent service, good food, great wine/beer selection

By lever8651 |

Our party of five all enjoyed our dinner. My wife said the crab cakes were as good as any she had ever eaten — even those at Ray's on the River. I had the Icelandic Cod garnished with and on a bed of..... all I remember is the Medjool date (sauce?). Maybe the best cold water fish entrée I've ever had. And our waiter: Wow! What an exceptionally pleasant person. He was polite, helpful, and knew the menus and lists like Francis knows the Rosary. Maybe our best waiter ever. My only issue is that of noise, but what can you do when a place has folks standing outside waiting and the bar is packed inside, all having fun and laughing. I recommend ONE EARED STAG when you are in Atlanta — think you'll enjoy the food, drink and ambiance.

Brilliant food...but you'll be back for the bartender

By DavidChipNewton |

Seriously. I don't say this often , but this guy (Brian? - works Sunday and Monday) is really amazing. He knows what you want by reading your face, I think. The food is awesome, of course. But, it's service and personality like his that will make you come back- even if you're a local :)

Very good food and service

By Susan M |

We had a very good experience with Wisteria in Atlanta. The food was very good except one of us had the crab cake which was just so so. I had the skatewing and it was delicious. The management was extremely accommodating in that we were very late due to horrible traffic. They also accommodate gluten free as well as children. Ambiance is nice too. Only complaint which I would have given 4 1/2 stars if option was that the restaurant was very loud.

Intimate and inviting

By Ashley W |

We absolutely loved this little spot. We came for a special quiet celebration and to try out some local dishes. No disappointments at all. food service and ambiance were so well done. Crab cake and shrimp and grits hit all the right notes.

Farm to Table Modern Southern Cuisine

By Judith S |

We enjoyed a very reasonably priced and imaginative dinner. Choices were perfect. The scallop and pork belly appetizer was the highlight of the evening. Very friendly staff too. Fun place.

Great food and atmosphere

By rmnorton2 |

This was the perfect place to celebrate an anniversary. It has a vibrant and lively dining room right next to the bar. Our waiter was efficient and friendly and the reasonably priced food was excellent.

Mediocre

By Geert B |

I visited Wisteria Restaurant in Atlanta GA with two friends. The atmosphere was relaxed, the acoustics suboptimal, the service friendly and correct. The food was a bit a disappointment. The crab bisque was good, the iron skilled fried half chicken with collards, corn and mushroom mediocre at best. The latter dish was 24 usd which is too much. Only one male and one female bathroom for all of the restaurant is not adequate.

Superb!

By Jim M |

Good friends recommended Wisteria and we absolutely loved it! Service was excellent and the food was outstanding. Also, they were serving wine made by woman and they were very good and reasonably priced! Also displayed were paintings by local artists! We loved our visit and will come back in the future!

Wow! Amazing!

By Barbara R |

We chose this place to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Wow! I’m so glad we did. We had a seat at the window, so we could even people watch on the sidewalk. We started with the duck dumplings and the calamari. Both were outstanding!!! Then, I had the flounder and hubby had the pan roasted corvina. Both were cooked perfectly and the presentation was nice. Dessert was the flourless chocolate tart, which was small and dense, tasty and perfect for sharing. Roger was the perfect server. We will definitely return.

Farm-to-table fine dining

By Erika V |

I have now been to Wisteria two times and will be returning again. The food is of consistent superior quality, the seasonal ingredients embrace absolute freshness, and the service is impeccable. Nestled in the beautiful Inman Park neighborhood, Wisteria is a restaurant you won't want to miss.

Looks dated and food was salty

By Travels_by_Anna |

I generally do not review restaurants, however, considering the ratings this restaurant has received I expected it to be top notch. Needless to say it was disappointing. We were a family of 4, one baby and one toddler. They have a children's menu--very expensive ($6 for angel hair pasta and butter, $10 for 5 fried shrimp & 2 small sides) and doesn't include drinks for kids. We ordered 6 dishes, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 2 kids dishes. Everything but the beef carpaccio was salty. The bread is served upon request, was hard from being reheated in the oven. Our server was friendly but didn't describe any dishes, offer suggestions, nor tell us about the restaurant favorites. Service was slow on a quiet, rainy weekday. This restaurant needs an update of its interior. Everything felt dated and worn. It looks like it had its heyday 15 years ago and the people who went during that time still come. There are many restaurants with main entrees of $30-$50 with nice decor, amazing food, service, wine list and cocktails, and a changing table. I wouldn't go back.

Southern charm and cuisine! Excellent choice!

By LisaEddie |

We wanted a finer dining experience while visiting Atlanta but also wanted Southern cuisine. This restaurant was an excellent choice. Delicious meals uniquely Southern. We really enjoyed it! The service was also excellent!

Excellent service and cozy environment

By Jennifer P |

Visited on a weeknight. We were greeted immediately as well as seated immediately. The waiter was superb with great suggestions. We enjoyed a couple of cocktails that were pretty good. Our food tasted fantastic but not much to the serving size. We shared dessert which was also very tasty. Valet parking available which is an added bonus. The best part about the restaurant is definitely the service! Would visit again!

Away Too Long

By Judgefoodie |

This restaurant has staying power. It had been years since I thought to dine here but after a weeknight dinner with my husband which was first-rate, I booked it for a group of friends for a birthday celebration. I could not have been more pleased: the menu had something for everyone and the food was uniformly described by all as delicious. Really nice touch that I could bring a cake and have it served as dessert for the minimal charge if $2 per person. This friendly place will not drop off my radar again.

Exciting upbeat great food

By georgiainatlanta |

The fun neighborhood restraurant. Appetizers unique, pimento cheese deviled eggs. Best vegetable plate ever!!!! A vegetarian delight. The trout was excellent. Crab cake appetizer was just "OK." We all enjoyed the bread pudding. I have a personal challenge to try the bread pudding if it is offered. This one was way above average. Light bourbon sauce, it was NOT overwhelmed with raisins. I fact no rasins, yeah! I would rate this bread pudding 8.5. I am still on a quest for the best.

A Warm & Wonderful Gathering Place

Whether you visit in a large group or small, this dimly lit and divine smelling restaurant offers a wonderful environment to toast life‘s celebratory moments and catch up with dear friends and loved ones over a delicious meal.

Quant and friendly

The best iron skillet chicken ever!!! My wife had the Lamb Shank which was also amazing. The bartender and bar was were perfect. Try there deserts. Small taste of multiple deserts. Delicious!

Tasty, Tasty, Tasty

By WonderWander |

I liked this place the first time I went...and I loved it when I recently went back. Came with a bunch of colleagues and we all adored everything we ate. It's well thought-out, well prepared food, with a menu that isn't replicated elsewhere. They were also great about my co-workers' special diets and requests. Finally...it's just a pleasant place to eat.

Worm in meal!

Nice location in Atlanta suburbs. Good ambiance and drinks. Food only so-so and one meal , monkfish had a live worm! Good customer service and nice welcome but food nothing to write home about

Local, social, & spectacular culinary courage

By StillinLOVEsince84 |

It was late, we were underdressed, and it was our last night to find some local phenomenal food. Wow, were we luckily we found Wisteria! This was the best culinary experience we had in Georgia! We will be back next year and look forward to another tastebud adventure. First, the valet pointed out a convenient spot because he was going home - but assured us they would seat us. Then we were met quickly by a waitress who apologized for our wait and the hosts absence. She escorted us to one of her back corner tables, which made us much more comfortable since we were wearing our last clean t-shirts and jeans and every other female had on a stylish new dress. I ordered an interesting black pepper infused vodka drink, but not before asking the waitress how many people rated this concoction favorably. She reported she found it fantastic. It was as bold as I expected, but it also had a subtle depth of flavor. Because the waitress mentioned the habenero, I was able to identify this flavor. We were struggling to find a starter we could agree on, then the waitress reviewed the specials. Her careful descriptions made our mouths water. When we announced we would split the special salad and chicken because we were leaving town and together my teenage daughter and I are the size of an average man, the waitress pleasantly confirmed it would be plenty. The complimentary BREAD! Wow, it was the lightest soft bread with a crispy crust! We learned we would have to go to Decatur to get the bakery best! The salad with heirloom tomatos, red onions, eggplant, peppers, croutons, and a vinagrette was excellent. Not visually pleasing in the low lights, but dig in! The fried chicken was two large pieces, one dark, one light. Crispy, but not densely coated. Moist. The waitress had told us the corn pudding was amazing. We agreed, but my daughters is even better-the waitress cant wait for her to bring some next year! We were going to skip dessert, except my daughter had a disappointing Georgia peach earlier in the day. We learned from our waitress that their peach tart would fix Georgia's reputation, but needed that scoop of ice cream to top off our experience. I couldnt skip the chocolate, and so we tried the peach and basil granado as our third in the trio dessert. Hands down the chocolate was decadent and our favorite. The basil overwelmed the peach, and again was not visually pleasant in tbe low lights, but made a tasty palate cleanser. I pointed this out to my daughter as she took the fourth spoonful after telling me it was too aromatic and she wasnt sure she would order it again! I mentioned the low lights and others have mentioned the space. We actually really liked the social comfortable atmosphere with high end service. The paintings by a local artist complement the food: familiar, but bold.

Excellent Atmosphere and Food

By Annie123081 |

We were here early on a Saturday night. The restaurant is not large and filled up quickly so I would definitely recommend reservations. We started with the mussels which are prepared in a red sauce versus a typical white wine sauce. I liked them but didn't love them. For our entrees I had the Turbot special and my husband tried the filling but very good meatballs with gnocchi. We would recommend both dishes. Wine list was good and well priced. We would go back.

I normally love this place

By Lmaatlanta |

Fried chicken was inedible. Not cooked all the way through. Super slow service. We are 3 bites and server quickly cleared it away without asking why none was eaten. I’ll come back based on history but this was really a bad experience.

Excellent Gluten Free Friendly Restaurant

By Jeff K |

The food was superb! My wife has celiacs and the large gluten free menu was a welcomed sight. Usually, she has to choose from a handful of bland and boring options. Not here. She had so many options to choose from. As I have already said, the food was SUPERB!!! The service was great as well. We will be back. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys fantastic food, gluten free or not, at a fair price.

Memorable food and fine service

By skkebolt |

We were a party of ten celebrating 2 anniversaries on a Saturday night. Jocelyn answered our questions patiently and gave us the information we needed to make good selections. She presented us with complimentary Champagne to begin our meal ( the three teens in our party were given Ginger Ale in stemmed glasses --Nice touch!) because of our celebration. The starters exceeded our expectations. We had the Calamari, the Arancini, and the Oysters Walker Fellow. The Arancini, perfectly done, melted in our mouths. The Oysters were quite good, and the calamari was just right and served with a few fried onions and slices of okra.. Drinks and entrees were equally impressive, and attractively presented. The mac and cheese is better than your Grandma's. We tried several desserts, but the bread pudding, though not the traditional variety, trumped the others. The chocolate ganache was a bit too salty and the fried peach pie needed more peaches.. The service was unhurried, and we never felt rushed. The wait staff worked efficiently without being obtrusive. The complimentary valet parking is a nice feature in an area where parking can be hard to find. Overall, we enjoyed a memorable evening at Wisteria, a restaurant we look forward to trying again.

A great recommendation

By EssexPhotonut |

This restaurant was recommended by the concierge in our hotel. We took a cab there for $15 inc tip. Great decor, very intimate with a bar. We booked for 8pm, it was quite busy but still some spaces. Our server was Hunter, really nice guy. Beers and. Cosmopolitan were ordered. Dishes looked good sized portions, we had one of the specials, slow cooked lamb shank. It came with mash, peas and carrots and was absolutely delicious. It was a huge portion, I couldn't finish mine! My wife had homemade ice cream for afters as well as coffee for both of us. Hunter was very attentative and chatty, asking us where we were from, what were we doing in Atlanta etc. He called us a cab to go back to our hotel. Great food, great ambiance. Great recommendation by Michael our concierge.

Southern Food in Nice Setting

By machugas |

We were in Atlanta with dinner plans that had fallen through. Thanks to Trip Advisor for sending us to Wisteria. We loved the aesthetic inside and out. The staff was friendly and professional. Food was delicious. Loved the collards. We had a really nice experience and would definitely go back if we find ourselves in Atlanta again.

A Southern delight for the most scrutinizing palate

By CJ B |

While I avoided cocktails the night I dined in, they did have an enticing list of Southern staples (e.g. Hurricane) as well as more creative options from which to choose. The attentive service by the bartender was more than notable. The fried chicken was simply succulent: a perfect dichotomy between the perfectly crisp exterior and the flavorful, juicy and tender center. In addition, I ordered a side of the greens mac and cheese to go with the chicken, and while I had never had greens in my mac n cheese, this combination was impressive and has me salivating as I am writing this, 2 days later. To culminate the experience, their bread pudding left nothing to be desired, as compared to that served by the most popular Louisiana kitchens. Will I return? The weekend cannot get here fast enough to make an encore visit!

Just the Brussel Sprouts are worth the trip!

By Chefsfan |

Our family consists of a widely varying range of palates: Wisteria was the perfect ticket post-Thanksgiving! Every vegetable was a taste sensation but the Brussel Sprouts were beyond delicious, even for the palates that aren't really fans of the little round cabbage-like delicacies. The cappuccino and desserts shared were really well done. It speaks volumes that you must reserve a spot well in advance - but if you know you want to go and didn't make a reservation, give it a go - you may just get lucky and get our fabulous waiter - he clearly knows foods and enjoys creating a great dining experience for every customer we observed him serving!

Clueless in Atlanta

By WilliamDMoore |

First, the good: Wisteria is stylish, hip and happening, and has wonderful food. We were surrounded by a room full of happy people, most, being well served by a highly competent, engaging wait staff. The food was beyond good. I had the arugula and grilled apple salad - fabulous. I followed with the duck breast, which was quite good. Sadly, our dining experience was, basically, ruined by a kind, but completely clues waiter who was, without a doubt the worst I've ever experienced in a top notch restaurant. He had no knowledge of the menu, could not keep orders straight, could offer no coherent suggestions, and seemed completely out of his element. I ordered an entree, which he told me was sold out, then I heard it ordered at the adjacent table, only to hear him say it had reappeared. The tables to my right and left were equally frustrated. It was a sad spectacle - a fabulous meal undone by an endless array of missteps by a hopelessly unprepared (and clearly untrained) waiter. I'm not giving up on Wisteria - this was our second visit, and the food was great both times. My hope is that this was an aberration, not a trend of sending nice, but completely untrained staff into the fray on a busy Saturday night.

Great atmosphere, great food

By Hernan V |

So we get to the building, and the outside of the building is really nice. Coming into the restaurant, we're greeted by our server. Which was a strange that a server was greeting and not a host... I think he just happened to be standing there though. The alcohol list is quite extensive with the wine list alone, fortunately we don't drink so we weren't really bothered with all those decisions!!! In any event, our server "Mitchell" was quite the character, really nice guy. He was actually focused on what he was doing, like tending to us, he had i believe four other tables, so he was busy. He took the time to explain the "specials" especially when he noticed that in his words "before you get too deep into studying the menu let me tell you about it" which was extremely clever. So he kept us engaged while he was with us. Which helped because we ordered shortly after!!! The menu was excellent simply because there were plenty of options, but all the appetizers, or "small plates" and the main entrees all on one page! So for me that's awesome!!! Once that small plate order was in, there were four orders by the way. We didn't wait long to get them, more importantly they all came out together!!! Once done eating and conversation time over appetizers were over, our table was cleared, and out the entrees!!! The best part!!! Again all came out together, everything tasted great, excellent presentations, and excellent service!!!

Hearty and high quality

By Mike S |

Wisteria presents a creative blend of Southern classics with modern flair. Our group thoroughly enjoyed the Low-country stew, fried half chicken, and pork medallions, although the Caesar salad seemed to have a slightly too salty flavor beyond the capers, perhaps from that night’s grana Padano. The two standouts were the kale salad, paired so nicely with butternut squash, and the best vegetable plate ever, featuring perhaps nine inspired dishes including a delectable veg-potato succotash, corn cakes, and roasted mushrooms. All told, this popular Virginia-Highlands restaurant gave us a memorable meal for a satisfactory price.

Outstanding!!

By TravelingFamx |

I have eaten here several times and it is always outstanding!!! The freshness of the good, local sourcing, gluten free options make this a must stop

Best Birthday Dinner!

By Nealfam |

This restaurant is an Inman Park gem! Food was divine, service was over the top attentive. Our party of eleven selected almost all of the main dish choices and everyone was thrilled with their meal. Highly recommend!

Didn’t even tasted the food, just the hostess’ bad mood

By Sofia g |

Worst reception EVER. As we got there the hostess told us quite rudely that we had to hurry because we had 3 minutes left to order since the kitchen closed promptly at 9. Our reservation was at 8:45, we arrived about 10 minutes late. Given that your kitchen closes at 9 why would you allow people to make reservations 15 minutes before closing the kitchen? That means that if we had gotten there at 8:45 we wouldn’t even have time to order drinks before or read the entire menu. But the way the hostess conducted was the worst part. Don’t treat clients like that. Just lost not only 3 clients, but every acquaintance they have. ALSO, when the clients go over and tell you they were unhappy, don’t try to blame them for your rudeness and the weird way you conduct the reservations.

Fabulous food and service

By SDP40 |

What a great local restaurant. From start to finish it was a delightful dining experience. Natalie our waitress was so much fun and knowledgeable, she gave excellent descriptions of everything. The food was fresh, local and yummy. The cocktail list was adventurous and the ingredients carefully chosen. My only minor issue is that the tables are close together.

Terrific atmosphere and Fabulous Food

By Pamela W |

While visiting Atlanta, a friend and I had a bite here prior to a show at the Fox. We sat at the bar and were promptly helped. I'm gluten-free and was provided a generous gluten-free menu. Since we were going to share a couple of meals, we ordered both meals from the gluten-free menu: the Shrimp and Grits and the Pork Three Ways. They were both outstanding! The pork comes with fried pork skins which they were quick to inform me could be cross-contaminated due to the fryer. So, they brought them separately for my friend to enjoy. The food, wine, service and ambiance were all perfection. It can get busy, so make a reservation or get there early for a seat at the bar (it's tiny!) Enjoy!!

Best meal I have had in awhile!

By Treyue M |

I would not usually go to a fine dining restaurant and order fried chicken but I did. IT was probably the best I have ever had. MY group and I shared 3 apps and they have a decent wine and drink selection. Parking can be a little hard during peak weekends but still worth the wait.

Great Date Night Dinner

By BonnieLee17 |

Wonderful neighborhood restaurant! We arrived on a early on Wednesday night without a reservation and were seated quickly. I have celiac so am Gluten Free for health reasons not by choice. They have an amazing Gluten Free menu. I had a filet steak with corn pudding and succotash! It was AMAZING!! My husband had the Lamb Salisbury steak with grits and asparagus. His was wonderful as well! Such a nice and romantic little hide away place.. minutes from downtown and so much better than the offerings downtown! Service was impeccable in every detail. They also have a full bar. Cant wait to return to this hidden gem! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Nice name. Nice place.

By Jim P |

The room is pleasant and welcoming. The drinks are very good. The staff is friendly and attentive. The only thing is, while the food is also nicely prepared, Wisteria’s menu is somewhat limited. Still, definitely worth a visit. It’s a relaxing, unhurried, and tasty experience.

Great Birthday Dinner

By klmaestra |

While visiting family in Atlanta we dined at Wisteria to celebrate my birthday. It was a great choice. Our waiter, Jim, was personable, helpful, and efficient. We shared a variety of appetizers, sea scallops, mussels, and the black-eyed pea hummus served with a house pickle plate. All were beautifully presented and tasty. Main course standouts were the iron skillet fried chicken and the grilled pork tenderloin. Desserts are small portions and can be shared. Our waiter brought out a small strawberry shortcake with a candle for my birthday. The bread puddings with a bourbon sauce is delicious and I don't really care for bread pudding!

Simply Perfect

By Bento1949 |

We've been to Wisteria before but this is my first review. Last night we had a group of five and everyone raved about their meals. I had the pork tenderloin which was cooked to perfection and surrounded by a perfect combination of puréed sweet potatoes, onion strings, apples and walnuts. I thought the textures and flavors were excellent complements to the pork. My friend has a problem with gluten and the waitress provided a separate, extensive, gluten free menu. She and my wife both had fish, which they enjoyed greatly. As always the service was excellent. Our waitress was knowledgeable and friendly and the pacing of the meal was just right. Even with many great restaurants in Atlanta, some right there in Inman Park, Wisteria is hard to beat.

Always Awesome!

By John K |

Wisteria is always awesome. It is one of our favorite restaurants in Atlanta. They have a great selection of wine. The food is always delicious. Definitely recommend the skate (fish) wing.

Amazing Food but Over-Stretched Service

By ah64fish |

We’ve usually gone to Wisteria during the week, and we’ll likely go back to that. We went on a Saturday night, and the place was slammed. Nobody came to even pour our water for 10 min. It turned into a 3 hr dinner due to the slow service. The waiter was doing his best, but I think the kitchen and bar were overwhelmed. The food was absolutely amazing, so I’m rating a 4. I’m giving a little bit of a break on the slow service as I know it’s hard to find workers.

Underwhelming

By Roseann B |

After looking at reviews for great restaurants in Atlanta, we went with this one unfortunately. We were told, because we didn’t have a reservation that our seating choices were outside on metal tables or at the bar, we opted for the bar. The bartender was rude and the food sub par, walk right passed this place a little ways to an array of better choices. A note: on arrival, there were many empty tables inside as well as when we left.

This our first time visiting

By Cheryl A |

This our first time visiting and we took two close friends who are restaurant connoisseurs in Atlanta. We had the most delightful service and the food was scrumptious. We started out with the water melon salad, house salad with radish and granola added a special touch. We also had the roasted beet salad with beets four ways with almonds and fried lemon ricotta beignets— beautiful and delicious! We loved the roasted beet salad so much, we ordered a second round. We all had fish as well as the entree— herb crusted flounder with corn grits, asparagus and fried onions and the pan roasted Fish with fennel risotto and tatsoi cabbage. We added the roasted mushrooms as well as the mashed sweet potatoes. Talk about divine, everyone finished everything last drop on their plates. We ordered the trio desserts. The bread pudding with bourbon and dark chocolate gelato are unforgettable. We had the most attentive server, Drew, who was impeccable. The atmosphere was great. In addition, the hosts were kind, friendly and patient when our patio booking was impossible due to an unexpectant summer thunderstorm. The chef/owner, Jason, is creative; he has a beautiful way of turning southern favorites into new favorites. We will definitely be back. Look I do not give 5s easy but Wisteria was beyond all expectations and delivered exceedingly above promise.

Amazing food and service!

We loved this restaurant, the service, and the very wonderful way they took care of us for a small special occasion. We felt like family and were fed like royalty. We'll be back!

Excellent in All Aspects!!!!

By ttbryan1 |

We made reservations in advance for Valentine's Day and were promptly seated upon arrival. Chef Walker Brown prepared a special menu with some very savory dishes. We started with a nice white wine and three appetizers: Walkefellar oysters, chicken sausage and dumplings and gouda stuffed arancini. All 3 were so incredible and I would recommend all three. Next, I had the lobster rissoto, which was so filling and good. My partner had the ribeye, which was so savory and tender. We wanted to have some dessert, which consisted of red velvet cake, but we were much too full. The service was spot on and the food was simply amazing. We could not have picked a better spot for Valentine's Day. This is a great place for an intimate dinner or small group. The price is very reasonable, as well.

Superb Southern dining

By Geoscientist |

My wife and I are visiting relatives in Atlanta and had the pleasure of dining at Wisteria on a Saturday night. The restaurant was very busy and noisy but not uncomfortably so. Decor is pleasing with comfortable seating and large paintings with bright colours. We very much enjoyed our meal. My menu choices were based on an earlier review by Etfactaestlux. For a cocktail I tried the Highland Hurricane but found it to be too sweet. A Manhattan would have been a better choice. For a starter three of us had the crab bisque and very much enjoyed it. One of our party had scallops which were also very good. For mains we tried the fried chicken and pork tenderloin and crab cakes. The chicken was a large serving and was juicy and delicious, with a crispy golden brown coating, the best chicken I have eaten in a restaurant. The crab cake was also very good but the pork tenderloin was only okay. I was the only one who tried dessert and I had the bread pudding. It was heavenly! I am glad the servings are small as I would have kept eating till it hurt. This was our best dining experience in Atlanta on this visit. I would love to eat here again.

A Serious Delight!

By Judith C |

6:30 on a Friday night ... no reservations - only a sincere recommendation from an old friend who's a regular. Clifford, the Manager, couldn't have been more gracious or accommodating. He said he'd need to seat us in "the corner" (which ended up being adjacent to the waiter bar pick-up opening) ... but every last employee was cognizant of us as guests and careful near us. BTW - the wait staff is plentiful, professional and attentive! Ryan was very personable and we felt like we were his only table! The menu is so enticing, we had a hard time choosing - then Ryan (waiter) added more confusion with the "Specials"! The mussels were recommended by my friend - so enjoyed them, I did! The chef is innovative and masterful. If we lived closer we'd be there often. Highly recommended for good atmosphere, wait staff, food and wine selection. We're already looking forward to our next rush-hour return from the ATL airport to Alpharetta so we can side-track at Wisteria to let the rush of traffic subside.

Southern inspired excellence!

By 73muskrat |

We made our first trip to Wisteria in the Inman Park neighborhood of Atlanta this weekend, and were blown away. It exceeded our expectations. Being from the South, I really enjoyed the nod to historical Southern cooking while experimenting beyond normal borders for the cuisine. Each dish had reference to the Chef's southern roots. My catfish included a ragu of crawfish and okra which was excellent. We also had the grilled skate wing, a classic New York strip, and a beef tenderloin special for the night. We all shared, with all perfectly prepared. By the way, a surprise appetizer of Hawaiian poke' was over the top. We finally finished with small dessert plates. I'll never forget the cornbread strawberry shortcake. You must go here. Food and service made us feel like royalty.

Intimate independent cafe with great food

By Gerald C |

I love independent smallish eateries and this was perfect. The menu was varied enough to satisfy all of our requirements and the food was great. Service was attentive but not hovering. I highly recommend this jewel!!

Amazing all around!

By Andy A |

We are two couples who went to Wisteria this evening and it was amazing! The restaurant was busy and reservations are encouraged. We had a bottle of wine and two in our party had the crab bisque. They loved the pumpkin flavors and creme fraiche topping. For our entrees, two had the clams with pasta and white sauce and had to be stopped from slurping the last of the sauce from their bowls. Another member of our party had the flounder which was the replacement for the skate which was unavailable due to storms in the northeast. He said that it was cooked perfectly. I had the fried quail entree that came with biscuit and gravy and two sides. I chose their braised greens Mac and cheese and the grilled asparagus. I ate so much more than I should have because each and every bite was so delicious. I wish that our knowledgeable waiter, Jim, had taken my plate away a few minutes earlier because I kept thinking just one more bite... although their dessert menu looked wonderful, there was no way that any of us could even try a bite of one! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Top Notch!

By DawnousAtl |

Haven’t been to Wisteria in years. It was convenient before heading over to Horizon Theater. So glad we did. Excellent meal. Fried oysters, Trout, Pork loin. Extra points for having an actual vegan dessert! Warning though, the dinner portions are very large. They have a large wine list, though limited by-the-glass. They have a non-alcoholic menu! Terrific waiter and maitre d. Nice atmosphere.

Special Occasion or Neighborhood Favorite

By Catherine N |

Great food, great bar, great atmosphere. This is a happy restaurant filled with happy people who look like regulars. Still, we were welcomed and received great service. Very interesting- and delicious- southern menu. Obviously the chef puts great care into the food, just as the bartenders put great care into the excellent drinks.

Drinks and Service

By Yvette C |

First let me say, I did read the reviews before making a reservation. They were so mixed I was unsure, but I thought it was worth a try. It's a trendy spot with great service. The drinks were spot on, but the food left too much to be desired. Both my and my husband's meals were bland, and nothing to write about. Food was lacking in any type of real flavor.

Fish a little dry!

By judi2 |

Went here on a Saturday night. Service was fabulous. Server very knowledgeable. I had oysters and they were delicious! Ordered attic char. A little dry, overcooked. Drinks were excellent. Would definitely go back!

Superb

By pirate013 |

Last minute decision so we were able to be seated immediately at the bar. Great service/ atmosphere. Excellent martini. Yummy tuna appetizer. Skate wing was delicious similar to scallops. Banana pudding desert. Definitely pleased with our experience! Complimentary valet parking however you should always tip.

Good food

By TallahasseeWriter |

I enjoyed a veggie plate though a few of the items weren't warmed up sufficiently. My hub liked his meatballs and gnocchi. My daughter's scallops were good and she liked the crab soup. The best dish was probably my son-in-law's shrimp and grits.

Great service bland food

By debmak |

First off , I want to say we had great service last night. Our waiter was Ryan and he was attentive , friendly , and had a great sense of humor . Now to the not so good part , bland food. For appetizers , hubby had crab cakes - they were pretty good. I had arancini - pretty much tasteless unless you bathed it in the pesto sauce. For entrees , I had the catfish - again bland unless you swirled it in a lot of sauce. Hubby had shrimp and grits which was better than mine but still not amazing . We did have dessert which was very good . We had a trio of s'more , lemon sherbet and vanilla gelato. ( dessert is served in small portions allowing to try several if wanted ) So , at least the meal ended on a high note . Would I go back ? Probably but with so many options in Atlanta will most likely be awhile before we do .

Tried and true and constantly great!!!

By KENTGA |

We have been going here for years with family and friends. When I say years, I mean over 15 years. Food and service is great and never disappoints. Valet parking at the restaurant. We go here for both regular and special occasions and will continue to go in the years to come. They can serve a couple or a large group.

Consistently Excellent

By ChrisBaum2015 |

Wonderful cocktails, especially the boots and blooms. Always great food, and awesome service. The meatballs and homemade gnocchi is amazing.

Consistently Fabulous

By Bestboy12 |

This restaurant is my "go to" place for dinner meetings and out of town guests. The menu is extensive and all of it is superb. Went there this week and tried the meatballs for the first time. Should not have waited so long. Go back many times to try all of the great food. The atmosphere is lively without being overwhelming--you can actually talk to the folks at your table. I highly recommend this. PS: Parking is easy with the adjacent valet.

Great food and service

By Philip M |

Ate here in a group of 10. Only heard compliments around the table on food and service. No idea on price as I didn't pick up the bill but I'd happily go back and try a different dish. There stand alone entree of vegetables is outstanding.

Outstanding

By FutureFun |

Don’t know why we hadn’t eaten here before but now can’t wait to go back! Great food, great service. I had the best veggie plate I’ve had in a restaurant- about 7 different items, plentiful, tasty, well seasoned. My wife had a low Country boil and loved it. Fresh, not too heavy a base. Bread service was excellent as well. Hunter was our server and he was outstanding. Attentive, got everything correct, helpful, engaging. Ambiance good, got a bit loud as restaurant filled up but it didn’t spoil the evening.

Incredible!!!

By Sue F |

We were celebrating my friend’s engagement. They kindly put us at a table in the front! I would recommend this if you want to be able to chat. It was rather loud in the back with larger parties. The food was great we had the oysters and fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. For entrees we had the cranked cake, shrimp and grits, and a side of Mac and cheese. Everything was great! Would definitely recommend the Mac and cheese. I also had the mocktail with lemon and cucumber and it was incredible! This place is fantastic!

DELIGHTFUL DINNER!

By cdfs |

Get the fried chicken, please, and the three bite desserts are heavenly. Tucked in a fun little neighborhood with great energy.

Excellent appetizers

By BoCoMoTiger |

We like to go to Gun Show but it was booked on our trip to Atlanta so Wisteria was nearby and tried this place. Great choice - we ordered nearly all of the appetizers and had a great Friday night. Loud, fun, great service - and the food was really exceptional. Will definitely put Wisteria into our rotation of Atlanta restaurants.

Southern charm - must try

By Reina B |

Food was delicious. I had the shrimp and grits. I also had their corn bread pudding. Amazing Would definitely go back The hosts were kind and helpful Valet parking available Good place

Nice for date night - great service - average food

By Shanker B |

This is a lovely and quaint restaurant in Imnam Park. The restaurant is in wonderful old house which is wonderfully and tastefully decorated. The service was fantastic. Our server made lovely suggestions and answered all our questions. We went in at 10 PM so the restaurants was not crowded. The drinks are wonderful. My wife had the rum cocktail and I had scotch. The Aracini was fantastic and so was the pimento cheese deviled eggs. The grilled apple and arugula salad was good as well. However the black eyed peas hummus didn't seem fresh - especially when you serve it with Cold Sweet Potato chips. we ordered a side of hush puppies - however, it was hot and crispy on the outside and uncooked inside. bad hushpuppies. We loved the dessert - we took the 3 flight sampler - bread pudding, brownie fudge and marshamellow - amazing dessert Great ambience, great service, need improvements in food

Neat but Loud Ambiance and Interesting Menu

By Lisa P |

This restaurant was neat, original and interesting inside but even on a uncrowded Sunday evening, quite loud. Be aware if you go during a busy time. The fellow hosting when we first arrived saw a bit on the snooty side; he was not the host later in the evening. The waiter, Gary, had perfect timing from appetizers to desserts and was very personable but was a little pushy with his favorite dishes. The menu was not broad but was really interesting and with something for almost everyone. In that price range, I believe there are better choices though we're glad we visited that spot.

"Over."

By Vanessa C |

Overrated, overpriced and I'm over it. The excellent reviews peaked my interest. The food did not live up to the exceptional standard that seemed to have ben implied by the pricing. Our server was excellent but alas she could not keep us from feeling as though we had been duped. After all we can get average fare at an average price anywhere. Lesson well learned.

Re: Recommendation Spot On!

By ArmySpousechicagoil |

Visiting from out of town. I love to ask people who work in restaurants about their favorite places to eat. This restaurant was recommended by Dennis from B&B at the Lenox Square mall. Service was spot on, professional and friendly. Menu was unique and creative. Crab bisque was tasty with a little hint of spice. Apple salad was delicious and crab cake was made up mostly of crab - unlike many other restaurants I have been to. My friend had the trout and said it was very good too. If you enjoy coffee after dinner this is the place to try it.

Small but great vibe!

By SR148 |

Good choice of southern starters and mains. Good wine selection and the malbec was great. Generous portions and the pork tenderloin and skillet fried half chicken was great. Dessert selection a bit limited but the dishes are well made and tasty. Worth a viait.

A Neighborhood Gem for Romantic Nights

By Marc B |

We eat here every fairly regularly and got engaged here. The food is good and the wines and cocktails excellent. There are some great spots in the restaurants which we find very romantic.

Fabulous Dinner

By Terri I |

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Atlanta. Wonderful food created with food from local farms and businesses. The chef is creative, the atmosphere warm and cozy and the staff friendly and accommodating. Definitely a restaurant to experience.

The food is AMAZING

The food is AMAZING,, we visit here every time we visit Atlanta. Services is Amazing. We absolute recommend this place.

Contemporary Southern Cuisine and Classic Hospitality

By MacAtlantaGa_ |

We celebrated a special family occasion and loved this warm neighborhood atmosphere of Wisteria. The menu is Contemporary Southern and ambitious with a wide range of appetizers and entrees. For appetizers we enjoyed the Steamed Mussels and the Flash Fried Oysters. For entree’s well went hearty with the grilled Pork Tenderloin, the grilled Beef Tenderloin and the Lamb Shank. The side dishes are wonderful to share, especially the Sweet Corn Pudding. The wine list is excellent and featured my all time favorite DAOU Cabernet. The service was warm and professional. The complementary valet parking is a very nice touch. Can’t wait to come back and have some desert!

Nice dinner, nice venue

By tb911 |

Nice, quaint, cozy dining room, one of those friendly waiters that sings a lot of things rather than just saying them and cracks a lot of jokes. Valet parking nearby. Full bar. Nice art on the walls. Had the salad special, blackberry and the peach salad which was on the menu. Both were great. Mains were Trout with succotash and the fried catfish with onion hush-puppies along with kale & poblano slaw. Trout was the more interesting of the two. Fried catfish is fried catfish. Hush-puppies had strong onion flavor, good tasting. The slaw was also good, though wife said could have used more flavor in the mayo mixture. Overall, all the above was very good. We tried the peach fried pie for dessert. The waiter warned us that desserts were small and that we should order two, but we went with one. It was small. Our thought is that it was too doughy. Not enough peaches to balance out the dough. Otherwise tasted good.

Good Southern Fair

By Andrew R |

We have now been twice. Food very good and consistent. Good drinks. We have never been there and had a good service experience. The staff always seems to be overwhelmed. We have never been on a weekend night. I couldn’t imagine what that would be like.

Delicious but loud ! A fun place

By DrRobertRehovot |

The place was packed. We had to speak loudly to hear each other. People were having a really good time, but it’s a bit crowded. Great attentive and friendly service both at the bar and the table. Delicious crab bisque and oven baked trout. The pork tenderloin was tasty but I wasn’t very impressed. Deserts (three set menu items) were fine, but not great. Rolls were not warm. Towards the end of the meal - about 15 people were standing at the bar and inside the restaurant. We left quickly to help ease the crowding.

Upscale Southern Food in America's Coolest Southern City has brilliant, unexpected culinary twists

By Robert Franklin |

This is Atlanta's premier southern food location. There are several strong competitors__Watershed, Mary Mac's__but this is the upscale and hip version. Watershed serves brunch and has live music. Mary Mac's has the feel of a church dining hall. Only Wisteria has brilliant, unexpected culinary twists that hoist it into another sphere that no others share. Must try: Highland Hurricane cocktail Crab bisque Fried chicken with collard greens & corn pudding Mac n cheese w/greens Desserts: bread pudding and brownie. All of these belong on a Michelin list. Other items we enjoyed (skate wing fish) were average. Big, noisy room redeemed by stunning art work. Et facta est lux

Great meal

By James A |

Really tasty, reasonable choice, friendly staff and good presentation. Would recommend this to people.

Great Dinner

By HungryinH-town |

Ate here with son while visiting Atlanta. Parking is easy behind the restaurant. Was not crowded on a Tuesday night. I enjoyed a very good bourbon cocktail, the "Forbidden flour sour". The cornmeal-crusted calamari was the best calamari I have ever had. For the main course I had the molasses rubbed pork tenderloin which was outstanding with sweet potato puree and apple-walnut relish. It was a very well conceived and executed dish. My son said his tenderloin was very good as well. They had a good beer and wine selection to boot. I look forward to trying them again sometime.

Good food

By OKJasper |

We were a party of four on Tax Day, great "tax relief" discount on wine. Enjoyed the meal, skate wing, lamb shank, pork piccata were all very good. Plentiful servings, no room for dessert. Server was a bit aloof.

Good birthday meal but was hoping for a better steak

By Atlg8tor |

My girlfriend booked a surprise bday dinner at Wisteria on a Monday night. We were met and seated quickly and I will give higher marks for service. I ordered the NY Strip med rare but it was not the best cut..was cooked to proper temp but just too much gristle. The mac n cheese was tasty and we enjoyed our mini desserts. NIce place and staff so I'd probably return and dine again.

Early Valentine's Day Dinner with Wife

By Michael M |

First visit. There is not enough room to write how great this restaurant is. I've eaten at many fine dining restaurants all across the country and this is in my Top 5. From the appetizers to dinner, everything was perfect. I had a salad which was a special that evening that was the best I ever had. Strawberries and beets. Out of this world! For dinner, I had the pork loin and my wife the beef tenderloin. Both incredible. Will return often.

Great food!

By ghpierce |

You must have the fried chicken. It is awesome! I eat it every time I go and it is consistently fantastic. If you live here or coming here you must come to Wisteria.

Birthday Celebration Gone Wrong

By phowardhall |

Was so excited to try this place for my birthday based on reviews. I was with my girlfriends and would say this spot may be better for date night or family dinners. The restaurant is really cute. The food was not what was expected. We ordered the Beef Tenderloin (not good), crab bisque (good), Gouda Stuffed Arancini (bad), grilled beef tenderloin (bad), Georgia Shrimp and Grits (average). Overall, the food lacked flavor. The beef tenderloin seemed to be cooked to the right temp inside but the charred exterior made it difficult to eat as it smelled and tasted burned. The red wine seemed to be super cold. Not sure if it’s their glasses or their wine cooler. We sent all of our food back. What was surprising was that no manager nor chef came to check and see what the issue was. I’ve NEVER been at a restaurant where that happened. Not sure if WE weren’t worth the effort but it definitely seemed odd. Needless to say, we paid for the appetizer, soup and drinks and left for another restaurant. I won’t be back. I’ve been to many high end restaurants in the city, this food was by far the worse!

Fantastic!!!!!!

By JTC33 |

Luck of the draw that we came across Wisteria tonight in our travels through Atlanta, fabulous meal and the Brussel sprouts are worth the trip as is the red lettuce salad. You have to come to appreciate the other amazing ingredients in that one. Cozy atmosphere with wonderful team service. Highly recommend!!!!!

Simply Southern fare

By 2happi |

Got the opportunity to dine here one evening and can't wait to go back! It was Restaurant week and we very very pleased with this choice. The atmosphere is so calm and inviting, the servers are phenomenal, Hunter is the Best!!! He took such good care of us even though our menu was preplanned. The food is well prepared and presentation is tops! You must try the crabcakes and the lamb shank. The New York strip was so tender. Of course the desserts were soo good. This is one of the best in town!!!

Great food and service

By Travellingmom18 |

I dined here with my family in March. I wanted to visit a locally owned restaurant and Wisteria did not disappoint. We ordered the calamari and Gouda stuffed Arancini to start. Both were very tasteful and nicely presented. Loved everything about the arancini balls. For dinner we had the grilled tenderloin with braised green macaroni and cheese (unique and delicious), the Meatball entrée and Appetizer scallops. This is a restaurant that is doing unique food very well. I liked the ambiance.

Delicious, remarkable service, and not overly loud

By Susan P |

I had a wonderful trout dish encrusted with nuts...still thinking of it two weeks later. And among the appetizers our table shared were hush puppies that were so good I may have embarrassed myself making groany noises while I ate them. Our medium sized party was all business folks traveling, and the staff very kindly allowed separate checks, which I know was a pain. The place was full up on a non holiday Monday night, but the noise wasn't out of control, which was much appreciated. I'll be back next time I'm in Atlanta!

Always Delivers great Southern Comfort food

By TravelistheGoal |

Been here several times. Will always return when possible. Excellent southern comfort food set in a great old building. Inman Park, where the restaurant resides, is a neat part of the city to check out as well.

Great ambience and delicious food

By kissafish4343 |

Stopped into Wisteria on a Monday evening; the staff were welcoming, the food delicious, and the cocktails prime. The North Georgia Mountain Trout is fantastic and I can’t recommend it enough. I also enjoyed the bread pudding with bourbon sauce. The Gouda arancini were good, but could have used a touch more of the lemon aioli. My bartender, Thomas, was super helpful and offered some great recommendations regarding cocktails and the overall menu. The Roots and Bloom cocktail was great, especially if you enjoy ginger with a kick. If you’re in Atlanta, especially the Inman Park neighborhood, head to Wisteria!

Delightful dinner

By Traveling Coach |

We recently had dinner with friends who are big "foodies." They suggested Wisteria even though it was a bit of a drive for us. We are so glad they did. Delightful dinner in a very happening location (Virginia-Highlands area) with valet parking and a pleasant atmosphere inside. Lots of original art on the walls with high ceilings and a funky, in-town vibe. It is a bit noisy but that was quickly overcome with an excellent meal. We started with and shared the Vidalia onion hush puppies with calamari. It was very flavorful and garnished with a fried lemon peel. Different but a lovely palate cleanser. We all ordered different entrees and they all looked delicious. Mussels, Gulf Coast drum fish and veal meatballs served with gnocchi were perfectly seasoned and the portions were just right. Lovely wine list and delighted wait staff made the evening quite enjoyable. By the way, we topped off the meal with house made vanilla gelato, a perfect way to finish. Overall a very pleasant if slightly pricey dining experience. The ultimate question when trying a never tried before restaurant is, "would you return?" The answer in this case, is ABSOLUTELY !!!

Lovely meal at Wisteria

By Lynn M |

A group of four of us recently ate at Wisteria for dinner. It was a wonderful evening, and we had great service. My husband and I shared their three fin fish special which was delicious. Our friends shared the fried chicken dinner which looked fabulous. Be sure to order their mac 'n cheese and corn pudding. The collard greens were tasty as well. I would definitely make a return visit!

Great food.

By cpdawg |

Great meal. Everything my wife and I ordered was great. It’s in a relatively small space, so it was a bit packed in and loud. Probably not the best if you’re looking for a quiet dinner.

Fantastic Family Celebration

By GlobalPalate |

Who Ate: My wife and I, our two daughters, and our two sons-in-law. What we Ate: - Starter Dish - Blackeyed Pea Hummus and House Pickle Plate - Chef's Dish - Kingclip (Gulf Fish) - Beef Tenderloin - Pork Tenderloin - Iron Skillet Fried Chicken - Vegetable Platter - Chocolate Ganache - Georgia Peach Pie with Vanilla Bean Gelato Our meal could not have been finer, and the service could not have been more attentive and gracious (thank you, Hunter!). This was a celebratory birthday/anniversary combination dinner, and our daughters put this together. They found the restaurant through Trip Advisor, and booked through Open Table. The management knew that it was a special dinner, so they greeted us with some sparkling wine to start. Very nice of them! Each of the six of us enjoyed our dishes immensely, and my kids commented on how the restaurant strikes a perfect balance between 'upscale' and 'southern casual'. They are now a bit jealous, since we live in the area, and can come back often, whereas they live in different states, and will only get to come so often. Hate it for them! ;-)

Graduation Dinner- Outstanding!

By tvdirector |

We traveled into town for our sons college graduation- having been in Atlanta several times, we know many places but wanted someplace different and special. Little 5 Points is an area we visited often, so when I did some poking around and found Wisteria, checked the menu/reviews and so forth, and found it was right there on the edge of L5P, we had to give it a shot... and so, SO glad we did. Off the beaten path a bit, but easy to find and park with their own lot, we were immediately satisfied by what we saw. Cool place and neighborhood... outdoor seating... chill but refined vibe. The menu is not super extensive- but it's all good. We took advantage of the Sea Bass, Grouper, Filet and Scallop entrees, with corn pudding, fritters and other starters- then dessert. All were incredibly well prepared and very tasty. The honey butter for the fritters was out of this world... had to have more! Drinks were fine- a bit pricey and not all overly special, but perfect accompaniments. Service was attentive yet chill- very personable and extensive... didn't have to wait or wonder, but you weren't hounded. Interior is quite cool- relaxed but very well appointed and detailed. My ONLY qualm is that the music was straight out of the bad era of the 80's... something you'd hear at a frat party perhaps, but not what I'd expect. While I certainly like Boston and can take Van Halen in doses, it didn't add at all to an otherwise perfect experience. Highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed it

By Barry S |

The food was excellent (especially the pork tenderloin), the drinks were good, and our server was super-friendly. A very nice experience, all around.

Great Food

By grannyjo204 |

The food and service was very good. There were four of us and each of us had a different menu item. I had the nightly special of Pecan encrusted Haddock with apples, watermelon and more, one had the shrimp and grits and one had the Veal and Meatballs and one had the grilled flank steak with a side of mac and cheese. We also split three small bite desserts, the chocolate ganache Tart w/pecan crust olive oil & sea salt, the banana pudding with nilla wafers, and the bread pudding with bourbon sauce. Everything was so delicious. The tables are very close together and it was quite noisy. Valet parking too. Make a reservation if you want to eat here. The food will not disappoint.

Loved this quaint little place

By tamarajmartin |

What a great find during our stay in Atlanta. Natalie was a great server. Our food was spot on. That peach salad in the menu is a must have. My husband would have like a touch more greens I. It but we both thought the taste was great. We had the pork tenderloin and it was so tasty. And that banana pudding...mmmmm. No words can describe when it takes you back to your childhood. The reason for 4 stars and not 5? The wine list is a tad limited for my taste. I would recommend Wisteria to anyone stopping in Atlanta.

Always spot on

By Meagan D |

My husband dine her frequently since it is just a block away from our. The service is fantastic and they always remember us. The wine list is strong and compliments the menu well. Don't miss the fried chicken or the crab cakes. Both are outstanding. The banana pudding is to die for.

Birthday Dinner

By Mountaineer4ever |

Meatloaf special was excellent, low-country boil was excellent, beef tenderloin was very good, and my pork tenderloin was excellent except for the mashed sweet potato which had very little flavor. The calamari was just slightly overcooked and the fried okra with it would have benefited to have been quartered instead of fried whole. It appeared there was only one server, Natalie. She was very knowledgeable and friendly but not quite as attentive, probably because of the staffing.

Wonderful experience

By mark s |

This is a shining gem in a quaint historic area. The food was excellent. Our server was attentive and we will definitely be back

Nice spot, great music.

By JustBeingHonest |

The music was great! The food came out hot and tasted fresh. Even plates at other tables looked great. The portions were nice for the amount you paid. I am not a huge fan of stacking food and I feel that they could have uses a slotted spoon to serve the greens, as the juice was all over the plate. But all-in-all, it was a nice experience. The table setup is kind of tight.

Quaint, cozy restaurant with excellent food!

By Mike H |

What an absolute gem! This small, quaint restaurant blew us away. We came with a large group of 16, and from start to finish, the service was top-notch -- friendly, attentive, and perfectly timed. We started with the calamari, Gulf oysters, and crab cakes -- all out of this world. Every single entrée that hit the table was phenomenal -- from the trout and sea bass to the grouper, steak, and even the grits. We all shared bites around the table, and not one dish disappointed. The desserts were the perfect finale -- the Key Lime pie and bread pudding were both so good! Excellent cocktails! It was upscale yet cozy. I would 100% come back here!!

THE SPIRIT OF SOUTH!

By carla t |

Nice location, nice service, food a bit creative but real soul south dishes! The quantity is enough for two, I appreciate the taste of white grits super delicious! We choose a dish with fish but the fried chicken I saw looks like very interesting, I look forward to return to taste it!!

I dine out a lot all over the US and Western Europe. This restaurant offers one of the most creative takes on Southern food with fresh and local ingredients. Deserts are heavenly. A must go in Atlanta!

Excellent Food and Service

By Jason |

My wife and I were in town for a wedding and decided to try this restaurant after eating breakfast next door at Folk Art. We arrived for our reservation a little early and was seated immediately. The restaurant was not crowded and we probably didn’t need a reservation. The restaurant never filled to capacity while we were there. We started with the lobster bisque which came out very quickly. It had lots of lobster in it but was very tomato’s. Wasn’t bad but would not order again. For the main course, I ordered the shrimp and grits and my wife ordered the beef tenderloin. Both dishes were great. The tenderloin had a great crust. The macaroni and cheese with the steak was excellent. The shrimp and grits were good but the sauce similar to the lobster bisque and on the tomato’y side. Again, not bad but might go with something different if we dine here again. We had the chocolate tart for dessert and it was good. Portions here are fairly large so could’ve skipped the dessert. My only negative comment is where we were seated. We were seated directly next to the bar in a corner so we consistently had a server standing next to us our entire meal. We would dine here again in the future, just request a different table.

Date night

By A Ernest S |

Simply the best! As usual, when we work in Atlanta, our first night is always date night. Just the two of us in our favorite Atlanta restaurant that reminds us of NYC dining with it’s bare brick walls and good art work. My husband had the Low Country Stew, finished all the broth and then wiped his plate clean with bread that came with the stew. I always have the iron skillet chicken, a favorite, but tonight I had pork tenderloin that more than satisfied. We had a bottle of wine and Wisteria observes the Merlot to Go Law so they bagged our bottle, sealed the bag and attached a receipt without a problem. We are not dessert eaters, but with the kindness of the restaurant they brought us a bread pudding and chocolate flowerless torte. My husband is not a bread pudding fan but tonight he enjoyed it so much he has changed his opinion. How is that for good? So many restaurants in ATL to choose from but Wisteria remains at the top of our list.

Warm, lovely restaurant with yummy food

By CookinTeacher |

The decor was warm and inviting. The service was attentive but not overbearing. We had the delicious fried chicken with creamy corn and collard greens . I opted for the grilled asparagus. Our daughter had the rubbed pork tenderloin with sweet potato or squash side dish. Desserts are small, yummy offerings at $5. each, which is perfect. Alcoholic drinks are worth the price. A lovely meal.

Very good food....Service was spotty

By Gordon |

We took out of town friends here for dinner. Overall the food was very good but we had service issues that should not have happened. If you haven't been here the venue is small and very popular. They do book up. First it was a constant with servers coming around to remove plates, silverware, etc. At times we still had someone eating when they were trying to clean the table. Unacceptable! It was as though they wanted us to rush between courses. All four of us ordered the same Skillet Fried Chicken but we also ordered two extra sides of the Mac & Cheese. When our entree arrived the extra sides did not. We were almost finished with our entree when they showed up. It was evident that our server forgot to put the two sides in when placing our order. We understand that mistakes happen but our order for the four of us was pretty simple. We also ordered two bottles of white wine of which were not properly chilled. It was to the point that we had to ask for ice to place in our wine glasses with the second bottle. No apology from our server for any of the issues but when drop $305.00 plus gratuity for dinner we should not have had this type experience. Our server was very nice and while he received a gratuity it would have been much better without the issues. He should suggested another wine that was properly chilled. Would I go back? Yes but I suggest that the management inform the team to slow down and let the guests enjoy their dinner without feeling rushed. Maybe our server was having an off night but we left underwhelmed.

Valentine's dinner

By Justin M |

Absolutely delicious food, exceptional service. I had the crab bisque with the ribeye steak which was cooked perfectly to order and pimm's snowday to drink. It was all amazing. My wife had the new york strip steak with the French martini also perfectly cooked. We had the chicken sausage dumplings as our appetizer and for dessert we had the southern banana pudding, the bread pudding and the sea salt caramel smore. There was absolutely nothing wrong about anything at Wisteria, it is a delightful and very delicious restaurant. It's is highly recommended if you love excellent southern food and perfect service.

It is almost 9 pm, I am just finished with my last appointment, and I am starving. I know I want a small plate or two at this time of the evening. So, as Wisteria is on my way home, and I have enjoyed meals at this Inman Park restaurant over the last 15 years, I turn into the parking lot. The service was excellent and very efficient. I had Oysters, Ancho Chili Rubbed Scallops and Gouda Stuffed Arancini...all small plates and all delicious. So, the next time you are going through the never ending list of restaurants to choose from in Atlanta, remember, Wisteria is a WISE choice!

Best Chicken i ever had!

Fantastic service in an awesome atmosphere! I had the iron skillet fried chicken and it was one of the best meals i have had in the Atlanta area.

Eclectic and Delicious

By Jennifer T |

While spending time in Atlanta for a birthday and a trip to the W Hotel/Bliss Spa, we ate here to celebrate the birthday girl. Food was eclectic and delicious. Loved the trio dessert especially, which allowed you to really try a variety of delectable dishes! Beware - it's small and crowded, and if you wanted any hope of a quiet dinner conversation - that's not likely. It was difficult to hear and we were packed in like sardines. They did offer let parking which is always a plus in an area hard to find street parking.

last minute, great meal

By sasob3149 |

Last minute change of plans left us no place to have dinner on Valentines day. Called Wisteria at 5: 45 and there were two spots at the bar. Hustled over and had a terrific dinner at an unhurried pace despite the last minute arrival on a crowded night. The risotto special was great and the pork loin was delicious and prepared just right. Excellent sparkling rose to accompany the meal. Very grateful for a beautiful ending to a special day.

Good Place to Bring Visitors

By Linda H |

My husband and I brought colleagues from Germany to dinner here. We all enjoyed the high-quality food with a southern flair, including shrimp & grits and an excellent vegetable platter, and one guest particularly appreciated the wide range of gluten-free options. It’s noisy and they had several large parties but we were seated near the front door and were able to carry on a conversation. We enjoyed sharing a trio of small desserts to conclude the evening.

Best meatballs ever

By anne r |

Everything about this restaurant was first rate. The food was outstanding. I loved the meatballs with gnocchi and the peach salad. Our waiter handled a party of 9 flawlessly. The wine list is good. The only bad thing was that the portions were so big I couldn't even think of having dessert!

Wonderful Engagement Dinner!

By CAKegley |

We ate at Wisteria after our son got engaged at Piedmont Park. It was a wonderful dinner. The atmosphere was very warm and inviting. I had the Gouda Stuffed Arancini as an appetizer and it was delicious; served with a pesto sauce. The fried chicken was very moist and tasty and is a very large serving; I could easily have shared it. Another member of our party had the Braised Lamb Shank and it was so tender it fell off the bone. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating to our large group. We will definitely eat here again!

Great Southern Charm

By FloatWarrior |

We visit Atlanta each summer and Wisteria is a must for each visit. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. The staff is always attentive. The wine list is superb. And the food... always visiting with a larger group, we have the opportunity to share and admire so many of the selections. Never has there been a disappointment - the selection and quality have been wonderful. Even special orders have been beautifully created for us. One piece of advice, don't forget to order dessert.

Extremely Dissapointed

By drlehman |

We relied heavily on TA for our selection of this restaurant. The menu is limited which we knew in advance but did have gluten free alternatives. The menu itself has so many ingredients in each main that it is somewhat overwhelming trying to anticipate what you will get. We order two salads....Caesar which was good and a salad which included grilled apples....quite good. But then the mains.......pork which was basically raw and not edible and a double order of flank steak which was surprisingly tough. The best item on the main plates was the sweet potatoes. When the waitress recognized that we were disappointed.....she offered desert....which we do not eat. No management response or anything.

Great dinner overall

By Avi_Shaul |

I took my Aussie customer for dinner at this place. I found it based on TripAdvisor and I'm so happy I did. Located in a nice neighbourhood next to the BeltLine, this place offers a great ambience for business dinner where you can have a conversation and have great food. Service was good and the food I tried, the trout and salad were fresh and excellent. What is more important is the customer was very happy (and it is not that easy to please a Melburnian when it comes to a restaurant). Highly recommended.

What a gem

By Andrew R |

Our party enjoyed the deviled eggs, hush puppies and calamari for apps. Main course highlights include gnocchi and meatballs, pasta and clams, shrimp and grits, pork chop piccata. Dessert was good but oddly presented on a flights fashion. Great wine list and they pour a good drink. Dress was casual. It was loud but that didn't bother our group. When in Atlanta again we will gladly be back.

Wonderful ambiance, food, service

We met another couple for dinner in October. My wife is vegan and the server made sure she could have a excellent dining experience. The food was wonderful and the server was informative and attentive.

Great food and service!

By lauraty13 |

I was in town with my mom and stepdad for a convention and we stayed an extra day. My stepdad is kind of picky and not always willing to try different things so I wanted to find a good restaurant with somewhat traditional food. Wisteria did not disappoint. It is by no means a plain menu but offers some modern twists on southern classics like fried chicken, meatballs, fish (and plenty of other not so traditional options that I had to google!). My stepdad said the fried chicken was the best he had ever had! Our waiter, Hunter, was top rate and offered plenty of great advice and the mini smore dessert at the end was the perfect size and delicious ending to a wonderful meal. I will definitely return next time I am in town.

Excellent Service, Food and Art

By Rbwood001 |

The service was excellent! The gentleman were very friendly and willing to talk. The food was an epicurean delight. I had the skate which has a very mild flavor and it's a white meat that was served with grits and asparagus with capers. I never had thought about eating skate! As my husband says "it's the trash fish of the sea since we have caught a number of them in the past and released them." Definitely worth trying if you never have. Well worth the price! My husband had his favorite the shrimp and Anson Mills grits in a red sauce. He used bread to be sure he had every last drop! So I know it was just as good as mine. We started with an appetizer of calamari and hush puppies. That too was remarkable. We did not try the dessert because we were so full, however, if we we had, there were some very delightful choices. If your in the area or just passing through, be sure to put this restaurant on the top of your list of restaurants for a quality dining experience. And for the ambiance... art on the walls of this old charming and trendy building (used to be the Atlanta Journal and Constitution building) brings it all together. Apparently the artist is a friend of the owners and it's for sale. Some great pieces with lots of color. Sunflowers, autumn leaves and white birch done in bright colors. This just brings the whole dining experience together! Enjoy!

Southern perfection

By sbranGeorgia |

Celebrated our daughter's birthday last night and couldn't have been happier with our experience. The cozy atmosphere in historic Inman Park combined with phenomenal food and service was perfect. Each of us selected a different entree and all of them were equally delicious. We ended our meal by sharing a trio of small desserts and again each one was divine. I will definitely return and bring friends!

Delicious from Starter to Dessert

By Joan_Crenshaw |

I just returned from a trip to Atlanta with friends. My birthday fell on the Friday of our trip, and my friends chose Wisteria as a surprise. Trying to describe the meal without superlatives and trite well-worn phrases like "delicious," "fresh," and "creamy" will be nigh on impossible because everything was delicious and fresh and in many cases creamy. We shared everything, left so full that we felt obligated to walk through Inman Park, admiring the homes. For starters, we ordered Velvet Cream Corn - remember "creamy"? There is no way to describe is without that word. Not your mother's cream corn. Almost a chowder with perfect pieces of thick salty bacon. The flash-fried gulf oysters were heaven on a plate. Oysters are one of my favorite foods and gulf oysters are my favorite oysters. These were well-fried, neither fishy nor masked in coating, with a sherry cream sauce that made me want to embarrass myself by licking the plate. We also had beef carpaccio under a bed of fresh flavorful arugula, once again set off by a horseradish vinaigrette that kept the horseradish flavor without being too sharp. This was followed up by the iron skillet fried half-chicken and a lamb shank which was the special. Even the chicken breast meat was juicy and delicious, and the lamb shank was tender, spiced perfectly, and fell off the bone. The sides were also worth noting, especially the sweet corn pudding and the braised collard greens. Amazingly enough we had room for dessert and ordered three small bite desserts: pineapple upside down cake, caramel and sea salt s'more, and a bread pudding with bourbon sauce. Where we put these, I do not know Our waiter was excellent. He provided recommendations that proved to be perfect. Service was excellent without being intrusive. It is worth noting that I had a cocktail called Roots and Blooms, that included ginger infused vodka, fresh basil, lime juice, and ginger beer. I'm not sure I can replicate it at home, but I intend to try. My only regret is that we sat near the door and I didn't wander back through the beautiful old building. I guess that means another trip.

Disappointed

By HEATHER6 |

We visit this restaurant with friends at least once a year while on business in Atlanta and always thoroughly enjoy the food, atmosphere and service. On this occasion we left feeling very disappointed and questioning if we would return. Our server seemed a little vague and was inconsistent with the service. Also he seemed to have difficulty with my husband being gluten free. Overall the food seemed to lack flavor and we just all left feeling disappointed and questioning if we will return.

Perfect for Graduation celebration!

By dcb611 |

I chose this restaurant for GT graduation visit to Atlanta and they exceeded our expectations! Everything we had was flavorful and perfectly cooked. Our waiter James had right amount of attentiveness and gave us spot on recommendations. We had beef tenderloin, seafood stew, vegetable plate and crab cakes. We topped off meal with bread pudding. One person in our party was from New Orleans and felt the crab cake and bread pudding was some of best she has ever had. This is saying a lot being life long New Orleanian! Well done! We will be back!!

Charming

By Arnie H |

An out of way comfortable restaurant in the Inman Park section. Southern hospitality, food especially the shrimp and grits aling with terrific fried cornbread. The waiter chose an excellent wine to pair with it.

Unique and worthwhile

By Susan A |

My companion and I both loved the seafood stew. The drinks are creative, the service was top notch and the restaurant is lovely. It was a perfect way to end our visit to Atlanta.

Great dinner!

By jomjr6 |

It's been at least 8 years since I had the opportunity to dine here and wow, it certainly did not disappoint. I had the Veal and Beef meatballs, one person had the shrimp and grits and the other had the Skate. All were wonderfully prepared and our server, Natalie, was one of the best. I'm glad we were in the corner because it does get loud but when food is this good who cares.

Great food, service, and people

By Shannon L |

Last Saturday night was my third time eating at Wisteria. Each time the food has been wonderful, and the service relaxed but professional. This was particularly true on a recent girls’ weekend in Atlanta, where we found ourselves making last minute adjustments to our Saturday night plans. I called Wisteria and spoke to Christian, practically begging for any hope of accommodating a party of five. Not only did he fulfill this request, but he did so happily. We ended up eating at the bar, and the bartender knew to expect us, thanks to Christian. My friends and I had a wonderful time, and I will continue to recommend Wisteria to anyone looking for a dining experience that personifies Southern hospitality in Atlanta.

Excellent dinner!

By Jenna Lynn Warner |

We went here for dinner on a double date and it was very good. The atmosphere is romantic. We were very much impressed. We enjoyed the shrimp n' grits, pimento cheese deviled eggs, sweet potato hush puppies, mac n' cheese and strawberry/lemon granita for dessert.

Excellent food and service, great ambiance

This is a beautiful location with both indoor and patio seating. You can select via the app when making reservations which is very helpful. The food is elevated and tasty with lots of variety.

Still thinking about this dinner

By Lisa K |

I was in Atlanta for business. We came here to meet some friends. This was the best meal I ate during my entire Atlanta trip. First of all... The appetizers were amazing. Scallops were perfect. I ordered the pork tenderloin. I am still day dreaming about it. It was so incredibly tender. The sweet potatoes were to die for. The onions were crisp and crunchy. It was heavenly!!!! Next time I'm in Atlanta, I am heading straight to wisteria from the airport.

Hits all the right notes! Inventive cuisine, great atmosphere and personable service!

By Diane S |

Delicious dinner tonight at Wysteria! Yummy sunflower-crusted Atlantic cod on an inventive bed of summer veggies - squashes and cucumber, along with a dill yogurt sauce and a sprinkling of crispy jalepenos! Chef's trio of heirloom tomatoes was seasonal and unexpected - tomato granita with mint, tomato aspic, and mixed heirloom salad - along with fresh cheese and crispy bread/crackers. Loved how they do dessert - mini dishes provide a sweet finish.

Service and Food Were Top Notch

By Classicsmjr |

I really enjoyed my dining experience at Wisteria. I went with a friend on a Saturday night (note to self may want to pick another night as it seemed date night place). Regardless, we both enjoyed our meal. Our waiter was extremely attentive and gave great suggestions. The chef had changed out the ribeye for a NY strip, but I was set on a ribeye that he was able to have one made for me. I thought it was a top notch place to eat and would go back.

Fantastic meal

By emyjordan |

Who knew I would have such a memorable dinner at Wisteria! Started off with the arugula and apple salad and deviled eggs, then ordered the shrimp and grits as my main dish, and finished it off with a Baileys Irish Creme. The waitress was nice enough to help us order a bottle of white, the Domaine de Viking I believe. We left full and satisfied.

Restaurant week - great food

By dstrick |

I recently visited Wisteria for the first time, during restaurant week no less. I had an 8:00 pm reservation for 3. It's a small intimate space, and the very popular campaign meant we waited 45 minutes past our reservation for a table. The host was ver apologetic, and we were understanding. Once seated, the evening improved. The service was great, and the food was equally good. I commend the front and back of the house for an excellent dinner, for a great value. Portions were more than enough, and the server was attentive. I will definitely return during a regular service.

Down Home Southern Hospitality

By petersan25 |

We were directed to Wisteria by our hotel concierge. This is the place that you want to go to run into local movers and shakers. A relatively small and quaint restaurant. A special shout out to the host, Thomas. Very courteous and thoughtful He offered us a cocktail on the house as a courtesy because of our tight seating arrangement. He took charge and made us feel welcome. We had a great experience because of his courtesy and professionalism. A true southern gentleman. Highly recommend to my fellow travelers.

Great Food and Excellent Customer Service

By 0504Traveller |

We were looking for a nice place to eat on Saturday night and found Wisteria online so decided to try it out. Overall, the food was really good and the customer service was excellent. We had a 8pm reservation and when we arrived we were immediately seated and then immediately greeted by our waiter - Jovanny. He was an excellent waiter. Free bread and water were served while waiting for the food. We ordered the Gouda Stuffed Arancini as an appetizer which were really good and tasty. For the mains, we ordered the veggie platter - which was extremely good and offered at least 6 varieties of different veggies and each were excellent cooked and flavored. We also ordered the lamb shank which was excellent tasting and had some good sides. The portion of each meal was also very large. For dessert, we tried the banana bread pudding which was small but delicious. Overall, it was excellent food in a nice ambiance with great customer service.

Perfect neighborhood restaurant

By somewhereingeorgia |

Exceptional service, atmosphere, and food. I had the fried chicken and it was just as good as I expected. I also had a peach cocktail that was light and bubbly. Everyone at the table bragged about their dishes, too. My only concern was the noise level rising as the evening progressed, but I'm not sure what can be done about that.

Nice meal in warm ambiance

By rapjkp |

A very nice evening at Wisteria with family of four. I asked to change the reservation from 2 to 4 at the last minute and was accommodated. We were quickly seated upon arrival. Our server was friendly, informative, knowledgeable and efficient. We started with oysters on the half shell, the special of bay scallops, bisque and beef carpaccio. All were good but the carpaccio was definitely a standout. All servings were generous. For entrees we ordered the fried chicken, catfish and trout. All were successful dishes but the fried chicken really was superb. Crispy ,tender and flavorful. They were also more than willing to change up this dish to exclude the greens and include mashed potatoes for one of our party. For dessert we all shared the peach buttermilk sorbet, apple pie and pear granita. Nice clean refreshing desserts to end a good meal. There is nothing new, surprising or terribly innovative at Wisteria, just fresh ingredients prepared in a delicious way reminiscent of Sunday dinners in the Deep South.

Great Food Complimentary Parking

Made early reservations so the staff was less busy so the staff was eagerly attentive to us. The menu provided some great choices with exotic combinations which made for a wonderful evening. Before moving to our table watched as the bartender prepared amply prepared cocktails.

Back on its Game!

By timatlga |

Group of five of us for dinner. The service, from the bartender to the host to the server were excellent! I had the gnocchi and meatballs. Excellent! The Caesar salad was delicious! Everyone at the table had different meals and all were pleased. Hadn’t been back in a while, but it’s definitely back on track and looking forward to the next meal!

Very good food with so so service

By Rick L |

We were seated early in a Friday evening. Not many others were there. Our server kept trying to rush us - even as we were deciding what to order. After we did order, the food came out so fast it was, frankly, uncomfortable. The food was very good. Not awesome; but certainly well above average. The place began filling up around 7:30 and there, definitely, was a nice energy and vibe in the place. To their credit, even though the food came way too fast, we stuck around at our table for at least 30 minutes after all was done; and no one pushed us to leave.

Great Anniversary Dinner

By Britt A |

My wife and I decided on Wisteria for our 22nd Anniversary and we couldn’t have been more satisfied. The wait staff was great and the food was amazing. I started with the ancho rubbed scallops with pork belly. They were phenomenal. Great spice (not too much) on the scallops. I had the iron skillet fried chicken with corn pudding (their version of corn bread) and braised greens. The chicken was moist and flavorful and the greens were perfect. The star was the corn pudding though. It was so good. My wife had the filet with mac and cheese. The steak was perfect and the sauce was super flavorful. The mac and cheese was amazing. I wish I had ordered a side of it myself. They treated us with a complimentary drink at the end for our anniversary which was a great ending to a memorable meal. Well done!

server Mitchell so knowledgeable and friendly and funny too

By Barefootsphynx |

Went on a Sunday evening, not crowded or noisy. Had special cod and oysters (on the small side but very good) and heirloom tomato appetizer. If you like tomatoes you must have this. Very summery and well spiced. Dessert comes in small portions and you get multiples. Love this concept to taste and share. Chef Walker has it going on.

please your palate without hurting your ears

By Terry B |

Tonight two of us had a wonderful meal in a beautiful space where the "energy" of the restaurant was not piped in through loud music or too many hard surfaces. Wisteria is an established restaurant on Highland Avenue and I can see why it has been popular for more than 15 years. Seated at a table with white cloth and napkins we took a look at the menu and wished we could order half the items on it. Starters like Gouda stuffed arancini or the Ancho Chili glazed scallops on pork belly are just two things you could choose, or crab bisque or a lump crab salad. Special tonight was a salad of little gem lettuce with heirloom tomatoes. Of course the able bartender can mix what you would like perfectly. Also there is a knowledgeable, professional sommelier on duty as well. If you prefer water they have tap water or San Pellegrino and more. Back to the food: our waiter Christian was attentive without hovering, and he brought us delicious rustic bread along with the arancini [me] and scallops for my companion. Both are recommended. By the way, the menu changes with the seasons and availability of good local ingredients, and everything seems fresh and local. The lump crab salad had interesting ingredients including gouda with a unique flavor. And who can resist a green salad with fresh lettuce and heirloom tomatoes? These were just the prelude to our entrees though. The rack of lamb, cooked perfectly to order, was served with complementary accompaniments which included polenta and green pea pistou. My haddock was cooked just right, tender and not dry, and served with a bed of greens and cheese grits which I thoroughly enjoyed. The sommelier can help you pair some excellent wines if you don't want to read their admirable wine list, but we were celebrating an occasion and the Veuve Cliquot champagne we had was perfect for that! (and always wonderful). About your ears: this dining room-- and the bar as well --had people enjoying each other in conversation and against a background of jazz standards from various decades. The music was pleasant but not loud or obtrusive as in some places I've visited in Atlanta. After leisurely enjoying our entree, Christian brought us a dessert menu. The meal sufficed to please me, so the thought of a big dessert didn't. Our waiter explained that their desserts are modeled after "small bites", portions that could be shared, but the size of three or four spoonfuls. We got two desserts for the two of us to share. I chose the fig and berry granita (great when paired with Amaretto) and our other choice was the bread pudding. The granita was over-the-top delicious and the serving was just right to satisfy my sweet tooth but not make me feel full. Still, I wanted to taste the bread pudding and (be aware I've enjoyed bread pudding in New Orleans many times) I was happily surprised at how fresh and good this one is, no doubt helped by the hot bourbon sauce that was just right. We noticed that some people come in to the bar for an evening drink and I'm told that you can get dessert at the bar too. Our complete meal was memorable and I don't know why anyone would want to deny themself of any of the courses we had, but if you just want a pleasant dessert and your favorite after dinner drink, the bar at Wisteria is the place. Still though you should come for a meal! In sum: excellent food by Chef Walker, served in an attractive and not pretentious atmosphere with soft music in the background so you can enjoy your companions!

Neighborhood go to

We've been going to Wisteria since it opened and really enjoy walking down the street to great food and service. The menu does not change a lot but it's become a neighborhood fave.

Great food

Went to dinner with friends. All 4 of us had great food - trout, lamb shank and duck breast. Extremely helpful staff. Quaint building. Quiet, calm, relaxed atmosphere.

Simply Perfect and delicious

By Daryl F |

My second visit to Wisteria in Atlanta was just as exceptional as the first, further solidifying its status as a top culinary destination. Every dish I sampled was fantastic. A special shout-out to General Manager Chris Collins for clearly fostering such a well-oiled and welcoming environment. Our server, Jared, once again provided impeccable service—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely delightful. The kitchen crew deserves immense praise. From appetizers to desserts, each plate was a masterpiece of flavor and presentation.

Waiter over sold the special

By luv4phood |

When we first arrived, the restaurant was very busy. Made for an exciting first impression with a festive mood. Unfortunately, our waiter was not enjoying the mood and was downright annoyed that there were so many people to serve. I am usually a pretty easy customer but our waiter was very neglectful. A drink was spilled at our table and he all but ignored us. We actually had to finally apologize to another waiter and ask for his assistance with cleaning up the spill. When we finally ordered, the waiter insisted that the special was the superior fish offering. So, I went with it. I was supremely disappointed by a flavorless piece of sole, lackluster risotto and limp vegetables. The reports were similar from the rest of my party. With the many restaurants in Atlanta, there is no reason to waste an evening on uninspired food and subpar service.
