The food was good and the service was very good. No special dishes but the food was very good and dit the bill. American style food, flatbread pizzas, sandwiches, good salads, good soup, the fish of the, Mahi-mahi was well prepared. Had 2 adolescent children and the restaurant was very good for them.

I wanted to be wowed by the food a bit more, but overall a good experience. We came for brunch with a party of 8 and most everyone was please with their meals, especially the stuffed french toast. The eggs benedict with crab cakes that 2 of us had were OK, but the eggs were way over-cooked. Perhaps they'd been sitting under warming lamps while the rest of our party's food was prepared. The tuna tower appetizer left a lot to be desired, as a good portion of it was very bland, shredded lettuce.

Excellent food and nice atmosphere. Service was almost "old world" it was so good. Although the menu is not the widest I've seen, there was certainly something for everyone, including vegetarian options. A pleasant surprise, and we will definitely go again.

Dined here with my boyfriend after church today. They are located at Preston and Forest and aren't something you'd expect in the middle of all the strip malls. Decor is modern with lots of open spaces and light rich woods. They had a brunch menu in addition to their lunch options. I had the Campanelle pasta -- a pesto pasta with Grilled chicken, sundried tomatoes and roasted red peppers. It was finished with pecans and was a great flavor combination. My boyfriends caprese burger was also great! It pairs fresh mozzarella with tomatoes and balsalmic on a burger. During brunch they also do bottomless champagne, mimosas and bloody marys. It's great, but they are a little slow to refill. Overall, was a great lunch. Service was a little slow, but friendly. It's a nice change from the usual chains in the area!

Dinner with another couple on the Tuesday after New Year's. I imagine this is typically a very slow time for the restaurant industry. However, we received very attentive service from a very personable waiter. The food is very good and the portions are plentiful. We also had some macaroons for dessert. These are the type that are heavy and filled with coconut. Delicious.

I like the classic decor. The people working here are very kind. I can see why some people may fall in love with this place. The food was not good and took away from the positives. My wife and I both had the Farmhouse Breakfast Bowl. The truffle Parmesan potatoes were dried out and overcooked. The biscuit under the gravy was stiff and rock hard on part of the top edge. The sausage link was okay, but I cannot lift it up as five-star awesome. The scrambled eggs had very little flavor and got lost in the bowl. My favorite part of the dish was the tiny portion of gravy on top of the biscuit. There was only enough for one or two bites, but I did like it a lot.

As someone who only travels there for work, Dallas is just another big city flaunting its steel, glass and concrete, short on personality. So I was quite taken with this friendly neighborhood restaurant that served up a terrific meal in a warm and pleasant environment. The service was great, especially since I was part of a large table of friends. The menu was surprisingly varied which was great as our group represented America coast to coast. Three of us shared a bottle of wine that the waiter recommended and it was excellent. Everyone was happy with their choices - most took fish. Two of us ordered the vegan Aubergine Stew, which is not only the best vegan dish I've had; it is one of the very best meals I've ever eaten anywhere. It was beautifully served too. High marks for achieving both presentation and taste! I started with a (huge) cup of wonderful mushroom soup thinking the stew might leave me hungry - boy was I wrong. It was filling and satisfying and actually kind of addictive (I'm still pining for more). As no one had room left for dessert, our waiter brought pretty little plates of dark chocolate bark that was yummy. All around, this was a perfect place for our group to reunite over a wonderful meal. I now look forward to my next trip to Dallas!

Have eaten at Woodlands several times. The ahi tuna nachos are fantastic, the sliders are wonderful comfort food, the grilled salmon salad is flavorful and filling.

I dined here recently with a group of friends. The first thing I noticed was the unique architecture and classic decor. Taste in architecture and decor varies greatly, but this really appealed to me personally. I tried the fish and chips and the fish was absolutely wonderful. It was cooked to perfection with a light, but tasty crust. Unfortunately, there was nothing special about the fries. I thought they would at least be handcut, but they appeared to be of the frozen variety. The cocktail and tarter sauce that came with the order were very good. I just wish there had been more of it. We didn't have to wait long for service and the waitstaff was very friendly and accomodating. However, I could only give four "stars" as they didn't hear some of the requests made regarding food and needed to make corrections (which they did with a smile). Overall it was a good meal in a restaurant with very nice ambiance and I would go back to try more of their food. My friends with me all enjoyed their entrees and no one had any complaints other than the fries and the orders not being understood correctly.

The restaurant is very nice. The server was friendly and efficient. I had the wedge salad. No cheap bacon bits here. The accompanying steak also was excellent. My friend had the sautéed spinach. Finally, a place which includes onions.

Family outing, great variety and excellent food. Good service. The crab cake eggs Benedict was fabulous!!! The chocolate bark was a great finish!

This is in my neighborhood and I have been here 1/2 dozen times ,its been ordinary every time and expensive. I would not go back.

Went here for Sunday brunch. The restaurant was noisy and the decor not particularly inviting or classy for the prices charged. The mimosa I ordered was particularly uninspired and didn't look at all like it had orange juice in it. My main concern, however, is that I did not see "traditional eggs benedict" on the menu and was going to order something else, but the server assured me that they made traditional eggs benedict and it was just not listed on the menu. In reliance on her enthusiastic assurances, I ordered them only to receive two pitiful and really thin, soggy bottoms to English muffins and two eggs with absolutely no seasoning or garnishments on them except for a small amount of fairly tasteless hollandaise. The server also put down a side plate with some very thin-sliced ham on it. Was it "build-your-own" benedict day? I couldn't figure that out, but I won't be back. There are too many really tasty brunch locales with a lot more ambiance than this place and better food. The artichoke dip was very good, but the rest way below average. I cannot tell a lie!

Two of us had a late lunch. Very good service and easy parking. Had the Caesar with chicken and the Rachael with natural fries. Both were very good. Will return again.

Had lunch here with friends. Food is so overpriced for such average quality. Everything I guess was just okay, except, for a $15 hamburger, I would expect more than cardboard. But the biggest disappointment was our server with the worst attitude. I note there are other reviews suggesting this place is good, however we wont be back there again, the food was not good enough to justify the service experience we had.

Our first time to eat here, we were just passing by and looking for a quiet spot for lunch on a hectic shopping day, we saw the Grill and made a u-turn to try it out. We were not disappointed. We were greeted and treated like life long customers. My husband was a little intimidated by the menu, but chose the fish and chips and loved it. I had the chicken flat bread, it was wonderful, crispy and smoky. The coffee was mellow and strong, just perfect. , We were treated to a brownie sundae and it was to die for, smooth coffee ice-cream, decadent brownie and coco puffs topping. Complimentary hand made chocolate topped it all off. If you want to feel special, please go here, it will surprise you. I definitely will return with my girl friends and try more dishes.

The restaurant does not appear flashy from the outside but the food, wine list, and service make it way above par. The dinners were delicious, ample food, and the wine list was very good. We had a small private room and the wait staff could not have been friendlier and more helpful when we ranged in ages from 94 all the way to 16 months. This is definitely meant for a re-visit.

The food is very good but we primarily go back due to the outstanding service. Very attentive and friendly. A good gluten free menu and a very good weekend brunch and week day happy hours.

We been here a number of times and decided to make it our New Years Eve destination. Just a mile or so from the house so very convenient. Food was fantastic and service prompt but not hurried. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone, but probably keep it for special occasions or to impress out-of-town guests since it is on the pricey side. Wines are excellent and reasonably priced.

Selected this restaurant based on tripadvisor reviews and location. Not fine dining, but very good. Both my wife and I had the Seabass entre and enjoyed it. We split a dinner salad which was crisp and fresh and plenty for each of us. Service was prompt and friendly. Prices were reasonable.

I was pleased with dinning experience at Woodlands American Grill. I had a delicious steak salad that was perfect. Many wonderful menu choices. I wish they had a better selection of desserts, but overall I was happy with our experience. Good, attentive service in a nice setting that is is more subdued that your typical Dallas dinning scene.

We set outside even though 94 degrees. Decent breeze and covering umbrellas. Very good service. Had the tuna tower appetizer which was excellent. As to entrees, the wedge salad with steak (some grizzle) and the fish sandwich. A good piece of blackened swordfish. A good gluten free menu. All in all, a nice lunch.

the food burgers, soups, chocolate are very good. ask to be away from the children as these days children apparently no longer need to behave in public. outside is also good weather permitting.

Three of us went and had three different salads. I had a salad with maple glazed smoked trout, mixed greens, dried cranberries, glazed pecans and sections of citrus fruit with their membranes removed. I don't remember what the dressing is, but it was delicious. My friends had a special salad with sesame seared ahi tuna, truffled potatoes, and other stuff. They loved their salads, also. I would warn that the salads were $17 and $22, so it wasn't cheap. We also had cups of their staple mushroom soup and a special soup of the day, also very yummy. The price is a bit of a splurge for lunch, but I think it's worth it.

We were riding around looking for someplace to eat. Saw this place and googled the menu. We could not have ate dinner on a patio with better food than this place. We absolutely loved this place. The pork chop, and steak was finger licking good. Drinks, and staff are welcoming. I will scout this place out next time I'm in Dallas.

However this was a very good restaurant - good food, good atmosphere & great service. Definitely deserves repeat visits.

Easy parking, good presentation and friendly service with al Fresca dining available. Lighting and low noise level made for a comfortable relaxed experience. Food while good and reasonably priced was a shade below expectations. Varied menu of a range of typical American cuisine. Our guests enjoyed the appetizers. My rack of ribs was slightly dry and over cooked.

The trout salad is unique and delicious. I've also had good luck with the daily specials. A good spot for lunch or dinner. Ask for Drew as your server.

I have eaten at Woodlands grill several times--lunch, brunch and dinner. The food is unfailing good. It is delicious, beautifully presented, and sophisticated but not overly complicated. This evening, I was there for a special occasion dinner with several friends. The entire experience could not have been better. The service was outstanding--attentive but not hovering. We started with calamari and the fruit & cheese plate. The calamari was crispy and tender. Well seasoned too, with yummy aioli and cocktail dipping sauces. I had the Reggiano Chicken. The chicken was delicious. I would have preferred about half as much sun-dried tomato in the spinach but overall the dish was great. Others had the pork chop, sesame crusted tuna, fish & chips, crab cake, and C.O.B.A.L.T. sandwich. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food. We finished the meal with port and the brownie with ice cream. It was the perfect place to celebrate.

A really great spot we used to frequent when living in Dallas, still exceptional. Came in for brunch and it was superb as well as our server Shon. the benedicts & omelets delicious. especially the brisket benedict. yum. Darn goo BM's too. Well done

I had lunch here last week. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, a good selection of menu items (although pricey for lunch), and attentive service. I had the portapella stack sandwich, which came with two fruit kabobs. It was OK, a bit bland and not something I would order again. My friend had a wedge salad that was plentiful. The restaurant was loud and carrying on a conversation was difficult at times. It may have been because we were seated between the bar and the waiting area. If I go back, I'd definitely ask to be seated towards the back of the restaurant where it appeared less busy.

For those of you that are tired of complicated, exotic dishes and working to google menu items to find out what they are and really want healthy, great food, this is the place for you. Upscale casual feel that is comfortable, affordable, enjoyable, and easy access, can park your own car. Love all of that and...it is delicious! Make sure to check out their specials. Saturday night is date night menu, think Wednesdays wine in the bar is reduced by the glass. Brunch menu is fabulous too!

I have been to this restaurant many times for both lunch and dinner. My reservation is always honored and the wait staff is knowledgeable and friendly. My husband loves the fish and chips. It is a good place for a business lunch, as well as celebrating a birthday.

Two of us went for happy hour, and sat outside. The service was outstanding and the food was also very good. Had the happy hour wine. For entrees, had the chicken flatbread and the turkey sandwich with Swiss and bacon. Substituted fries for the side salad. All very good and sizable enough To take home half. All in all, a very good meal and excellent service.

We were staying in North Dallas and needed a close restaurant. We enjoyed our evening in particular the ahi nachos. They started our evening with a good medley of flavors. Not spicy but flavorful. I had fish tacos and my son the Reuben.

Love brunch here--good variety of breakfast and lunch menu items in a comfortable setting. I have enjoyed each meal I have experienced here, with the exception of rubbery-textured mahi on one occasion. Drawback: very crowded at lunch and staff take reservations for booths, so it is nearly impossible to get one. I recently arrived without reservations at 11:30 and was told that every booth was reserved!

There’s something about Woodlands that immediately puts me at ease—they get that balance between nice and relaxed. The space feels polished without being overly pretentious, and the menu offers enough variety so everyone I bring can find something they love. The staff always treat you well, and I feel like they actually care. It’s my go-to when I want good food without fuss.

Sunday brunch. This former Wendy's location has transformed into a really great place for brunch and lunch. First, order the bread service and you'll get fresh, warm slices of baguette. Two in our group had the Preston Hollow Plate and were quite pleased with the fresh, abundant brunch food. Among the pricey main courses, I chose the fish-n-chips (sans chips) and was impressed with the light, flaky, non-fried taste of the fish. Service was super attentive for drinks etc, even if food service is a bit slow. The complimentary chocolate bark was a nice treat at the end. When in the area, we'll definitely return.

I went here with a group of people when I was in Dallas for work. Everyone LOVED their meal. Our waiter was great, like I said, we had a large group, and he was very attentive. The atmosphere is nice too. Would def go back!

Woodlands American Grill is not very good. The family and I ate here after church one day and I have to tell you we will never be back. The ONLY positive thing about our experience was the service. My wife's salad was extremely heavy on the vinegar dressing. She described it as having vinaigrette with a side of lettuce. I had the pulled pork sliders which consisted of what I can only guess was meat from the "bucket o'barbecue" one buys at Walmart and sandwiched between two stale and stale brioche buns that retained the case of cardboard somehow. I honestly wish I was making these descriptions up, but every, single thing about our food was subpar. The only thing that made it worse was the high price they charged. Woodlands is very proud of their less than mediocre food.

We went for a late lunch and sat outside. First, the service was excellent. Second, the food was very good. Had a flatbread that was excellent. Also, had the Rachael, which was effectively a turkey Rueben. Also very good, and both were large enough to eat and have a take home. Overall, a very pleasant lunch.

We were walk-ins for brunch on a Sunday and they accommodated. Apparently, they take reservations. The staff were nice and our server knows their menu well. It is mostly American fare but with a some twists on old Southwestern cuisine. Try their crab cake eggs Benedict and breakfast club - they will not disappoint. A bit pricey but worth it. A nice place to dine and have company for conversation.

I've eaten at the Woodlands American Grill several times before and enjoyed it. I guess this visit was just an off day. I will be back but not sure if order the fish again.

Polite staff. Clean dinning room. Cordon blue was tasty, martini was excellent. Chef special of the day was worth enquiring about(pork chop), my friend liked it. Hummus appetizer read well on menu, served in a tall dish-hard to share but tasted great. We never needed to ask for anything-service was on point.

The service was very good. This was a business meeting and yes it was a little noisy for that, overall it was OK. The food was good and timely. I would go back again.

We dined on a holiday weekend, and a Saturday night to boot. The place was far from crowded and the waitress explained they were busiest during the week. The four of had had drinks, appetizers and dinner ...and dessert of course. All were pleased with our meals.

She had the salad with the mixed greens, and loved it. I had the Woodlands burger, grilled to perfection, and seasoned just so. I love burgers, and this was one of the best. Our guest had the steak salad, and truly enjoyed it. The two girls had the brownie dessert and devoured them. I had the bread pudding and loved it. Joseph was our server and was exceptional! Try this place out... you won't be disappointed.

Had lunch with my friend and had a great time, this is the second time I have visited and both were for lunch. Brie, flat-bread an soup are fantastic as is the espresso. Its a little expensive but the atmosphere is great, very modern, wood and steel but very comfortable. Hard to believe this location used to be a Wendy s. the store has a new hip feel that is great. Will be back. Sal

This was our first visit and was for lunch on a Saturday. It was a perfect experience. The restaurant is well decorated and has separated seating areas making it more intimate. The food was wonderful. My Cedar Plank Salmon Salad had a good sized piece of salmon which was perfectly cooked. The salmon was brought out separately from the salad and only placed on the salad plate as it was served. The salad dressing was one of the best viniagrettes I have had, it tasted citrusy. He had a Reuben sandwich that he really liked. Its french fries were very crispy but large enough that the insides had a good potato texture and taste. They had a nice selection of wines by the glass. The optional brunch menu looked inviting but was not what we wanted today.

This location was once a Wendy's, but nothing about the place belies that. The food, atmosphere, & presentation were all great. The wait staff was very attentive to our large group, which is not all that common. The prices were middle of the road for a lunch, but the portions were huge. I had the chopped green salad w/avocado, feta cheese, and kalamati olives. It was $8.00 for a huge portion. Yum! Others at the table had french dip, fish sandwich, lettuce wedge w/bleu cheese, & soup. All liked their choice & they looked good to me. The mimosas the others drank looked good, too. No outdoor seating, but who wants to sit outside when it is 100 degrees?

Nothing confusing about the menu. Presentation is clean and not distracting. Service, while not overly doting, is concise and timely. We would suggest the Hollhock Pork and fish n' chips. The decor is reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture while residing in a shopping center. Go figure....

Nice ambiance, great food and service are what make this a pleasant stop in Preston Forest. Try the weekend brunch you won’t be disappointed

We stopped here with business associates to have cocktails and then a dinner meeting. Good experience, pleasant staff, very accommodating as one of our people was late in arriving, dinner was good.

Was taken here by business friends, and I, like them, ordered the fried chicken sandwich. It was so beautiful and so big, that I had to photograph it and post it to friends in DC. Tasted as good as it looked! The desert was in the same vein, a chocolate brownie buried under a chocolate sauce and a slowly melting scoop of ice cream. It was delicious. Loved this meal!

The service was good, but the food was bland. We sat outside and there was a lot of road noise from Forest Lane which did not make for a relaxing al fresco experience. The inside is cute. I might would go back for drinks, but I won't be running back anytime soon.

We stopped in for drinks and an appetizer. The beer was served in a cold glass. Our waiter who was also the bartender was very attentive and friendly. We ordered the brisket sliders. 3 come on the order. They were good but I would try another appetizer on our next trip.

Mediocrity Overpriced...at best! Just returned from the Woodlands Grill, disappointed is an understatement. Went with my In-Laws and my Wife. Firstly let me say that the restaurant is a delight and the waitress was faultless. Now the food however...where to start? Well, let's start with the appetizers...When cooked to order food arrives within 3 minutes of ordering, it SCREAMS pre-made and re-heated. This is definitely the case for our chicken flatbread (even after re-heating the base was undercooked!!) tasteless best describes this dish. The calamari was adequate IMHO, but, my wife thought it was reheated too?? Now, let's move onto the mains...Three of us ordered the Prime Rib French Dip. For some ungodly reason they swapped out the Toasted French Roll for Challah bread??? Sorry, but, "WHAT??" Who does that? So, the bread was an utter failure, the Au Jus was just greasy, tasteless water. My Wife ordered the Woodlands Chimichurri Steak. It arrived a beauty on the plate, however, the first bite my wife spat it out as it was over salted to being inedible. We complained about this and decided to change it out for the Campanelle Chicken Pasta, which was actually delicious. Then we ended with the Creme Brûlée which was satisfactory. So, all in all a disappointing experience and a $134 lunch (inc 20% tip)... unfortunately it's an experience that will NOT be repeated!

We sat outside and had great service. For entrees, we had the salad with chicken and the Rachael, basically a turkey Reuben, with fries. Both dishes were plentiful and very good. A decent wine list also.

Business lunch. Excellent food and service. Mid range price for the area. Wedge with bacon croutons good and unique. Will try that bacon at home. Roll up bacon, put on Skewer and deep fry until crispy. Yum.

We went there last night for dinner and a nice relaxing evening. Everything started out very nice. My wife order a glass of wine. She said it was flat. Dinner.. I order pork chops and she ordered chicken. Hers was good. Mine was terrible. Very tough. I could barely cut it. I will say the mash potatoes was good

really great to be eating inside again. the mushroom soup while off the menu was a special and delicious as always. the steak salad, quinoa bowl, and Preston burger ere in top form.

My wife and I usually do take out or dine in at the bar once a week at this establishment. The service is always friendly, prompt , and professional. The food is outstanding, whether you just order a sandwich or get a " real" meal . It's a very comfortable space.

The food was excellent with a good variety. The staff was very attentive. The atmosphere was just what we were looking for: lively but not loud.

I guess it's the location that's misleading, nestled amongst strip center stores, but every time we eat here, we are delighted. The food is simply excellent - not fussy, but sophisticated enough for true foodies who appreciate nuanced flavors and solid technique. Most recently, I had the horseradish crusted salmon, which was so good I cleaned my plate (that almost never happens). My partner had the hollyhock pork chop and was equally happy with his meal. Cocktails and desserts are excellent also. If you're a bread pudding fan, try this one - it's one of my favorites.

The stars are just for the look of the restaurant and the service. The food, however, is atrocious, especially considering the premium prices. We came in on a Saturday around 3pm so there were only a couple other tables, which might've explained the good service. We started with two starters: Calamari and the Grilled Chicken Flatbread. Both came out less than 5 minutes of ordering, which worried me. Of course my worries were confirmed. Both appeared - and tasted - as if they were cooked earlier in the day and then sat under a heat lamp until some poor sods ordered them. The calamari itself was cooked just right but was a tiny portion and the fried coating was soggy and barely warm. The flat bread was dreadful! It was woefully under-cooked so the bread was soggy instead of being crisp as it should be. But I brought the leftovers home in the hopes I can crisp it up in the oven and cheer it up a bit. My husband and both my parents ordered the Prime Rib French Dip sandwiches and I ordered the Chimichurri Steak. The sandwiches tasted fine to me, though the meat was mostly well-done and would've been a lot better had it been sliced thicker. My hubby compared it to minute steak. But the bread, on the menu as toasted, was a very soft and most definitely UN-toasted challah, which was an odd choice for this sandwich. The fries were freshly made and had a very mild lemon flavor and not one bit of rosemary. The steak looked good but the first bite floored me with the amount of salt. By the 3rd bite I had to send it back it was so awful and inedible and I think my ankles were beginning to swell. They couldn't make it again because the meat is marinated in this awful salty concoction. So I ended up with the pasta with chicken, which was fine, but certainly not nearly $20 fine. Oh, and my father wanted a Dr. Pepper with his meal, but they don't even have normal sodas there. Without asking he was brought a Mr. Pibb version, but at least we weren't charged for it. We forged on and ordered a crème brûlée, which was good but didn't blow me away and certainly wasn't worth the price. I liked the custard, and the raspberries were very nice but they inexplicably added some white chocolate chips to the top after they brûlée the sugar. It was a sickly sweet and very odd addition that I ended up scraping off my portion of it. But I did very much like the cookies that came with it. I think had I just eaten my mother's sweet potato fries and those cookies I would've been much happier. In this neighborhood there are so many MUCH better choices. I hope the waitstaff here find jobs at these better choices because they're so much better than this.

I've only ever been to Woodlands at brunch, but we have tried a variety of items from both the regular and brunch menus and have yet to be disappointed! It doesn't hurt that they are also one of the few remaining brunch places that serves bottomless mimosas-- and they also will do champagne or bloody marys. All the staff has always been very friendly and accommodating, and to top all that off, there is rarely a wait for a table. A great find, it's become our weekly brunch spot.

My wife and I met the in-laws here for dinner last night and had high hopes, because we had heard good things. We both felt the portions were small and the food was not as good as it could be. I preferred the pork chop to my wife's filet mignon, but neither were better than average. On the bright side, the service was spectacular.

My husband and I had dinner here two days ago and both said, why don’t we come here more often. The food and service are always great and some items on the menu vary from time to time. Wine offerings are nice. Have not gone just for drinks and appetizers, but appetizer menu makes me want to try it out. Will be back soon.

We went to dinner here with another couple. Their website says it is meant to feel like Frank Lloyd Wright’s most famous structure, Fallingwater. It doesn’t. It has a wood and faux stone decor, but that’s pretty common around here. Menu was not extensive in any category, but it all sounded good, and what we ordered was good. Husband had aubergine stew, quite flavorful. I had chimichuri skirt steak. Both were good, but not for the a la carte prices and small entree portions. They have no wines by the glass under $10, and only a couple of those. Service was decent. Honestly, the decor and menu both reminded me of Seasons 52, but prices there are much more in line. We will go there instead of Woodlands in the future.

Last night, we left the restaurant after twenty minutes. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The chef, wait staff and back servers passed our table repeatedly. Not one person stopped by the table and asked if we even would like something to drink. It was so noisy it was difficult to communicate with my spouse, who was right next to me. Glad their business is doing well because I will not darken their door again.

Came here for a quick lunch and enjoyed their sandwich with french dip. It is really cooked perfectly, not that heavy even if you are in Texas, and the sauce is really nice. Liked the service and everything was efficient and fast.

After a doctor's appointment and starving we drove upon this prime restaurant. The menu was expansive but our waitress lead us in the right direction I think. The chicken Milanese salad and the horseradish crusted salmon hit the spot for us. Well obviously they weren't enough because we ordered the banana pecan bread pudding that was delivered by the Executive Chef himself and it was completely sinful. Borderline expensive restaurant but worth it.

There burgers are way too tall to eat. Make them eatable please! I've been there three times and it's never been something to write about, so I'll end this review here.

I am very surprised by the good reviews for this restaurant. My wife and I were seated quickly when we arrived at our reserved time but that was the only thing that was quick the entire night. After we were seated it took a while for our waitress to come by and then it took another extended amount of time for our drinks to arrive and then the same for when we wanted to place our order. I will admit that after we placed our order the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. We ended up ordering just an appetizer and a couple of sides. The food that came out was just ok. We ordered the Nosh which included a smoked salmon/trout mousse and a red pepper hummus. The mousse was very nice but the hummus just tasted of rosemary. We also ordered the brussel sprouts and mac & cheese. The sprouts were under cooked and the mac was over cooked. The mac was cooked so long that the pasta was mushy and the sauce had broken. Overall, I was not impressed at all. Almost every dish on the menu had rosemary in it and it also seems like they are stuck in the 90's when it was popular to put a garnish on top of everything.

Ok food and service, nothing notworthy. Wife had chicken. I had steak. No complaints, just wont remember it. Best thing was Wente Merlot.

Our friends suggested we go here for a recent Sunday brunch/late lunch outing. We arrived about 2pm and the restaurant was still pretty crowded, but we were immediately shown to a table. The brunch menu was still available as was the regular menu. So, we did a bit of both in our group...breakfast scramble, hamburger, flatbread, wine, etc. Everything was actually very nice. Service was attentive...maybe a bit too attentive, but better that than being ignored as you are in so many restaurants these days. The décor is nice and to the modern side, but parking can be a challenge as the restaurant is located within the area of a busy Dallas shopping center. Do not let that dissuade you from trying the Woodlands. The menu has something for everyone and prices are not bad...moderate I would say. If you are local to the Dallas area, I would say the Woodlands reminded me a bit of Seasons 52. I will definitely be back and try additional menu selections. It appeared that the Woodlands offers a full bar and a nice bar area as well.

Went for the Easter brunch Buffet. Service was excellent so was the meal. The smoked salmon board was great as was the hearts of palm salad with olives and artichokes. The Mahogany chicken was amazing. So tender and flavorful. Brisket slider had just the correct amount of sauce: not to tangy or sweet. The assorted sweets were fine however the best ever was the short bread cookies with cranberries. Tasted a bit of almond. They were the best I have ever had. This was our second time to dine there. Service was excellent and everyone on staff was upbeat, smiling and helpful. You will not go wrong dining here.

We go to Dallas about three times a year. We have been going to the Woodlawns for about six years. I can hardly wait to get there. Makes my mouth water just thinking about eating their delicious and creative cuisine. Our friend that we visit in Dallas always has reservations for us the first night at the Woodlawds. He knows that's the first place I want to eat.

This restaurant has been a favorite of ours for years. We have spent many an anniversary or special occasion at this grill. We had dinner for two that cost over $130 and included an appetizer, two glasses of wine and 2 of the more expensive dinners. When I got home I checked the receipt and could not believe they had charged $3 for a glass of water. I had the wine and my husband had water. Will never ever be back to this restaurant. Unbelievable.

This is a nice restaurant but quite noisy, and it is hard to carry on a conversation. I have often wondered why some restaurants don't do more about acoustical problems and have heard that some don't want patrons to linger and talk so that tables can be turned more quickly. Although the food is good, it seems a little overpriced. It does, however, seem to be a popular place.

We enjoy the Brunch offered by Woodlands on both Saturday and Sunday mornings starting at 10:00 am. They have a nice brunch menu or you can order from the full menu as well and they often have a special as well. The food is always very good at reasonable prices and the Brunch Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s are inexpensive and quite tasty as well. The restaurant d core is modern and very clean and the service is friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend Woodlands if you are a single sitting at the bar or a group of 10 sitting in the back dining area or any size in between.

The last two weekends four of us have gone to brunch. The food was very good and the service excellent. We set outside and had a great time The salad are very good, the brunch menu also, as was the tuna appetizer. Good price on bloody marys, champagne and mimosas A very good experience.

We were having a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon and decided to give this a try. Years (many) it was a neighborhood burger joint but not today. When I think of Grill I think of red meat but their seafood steals the show. The fish and chips caught my eye and I thought chances are it will be like most places, greasy. Happily, I was wrong as the crust was crisp and dry while the fish was moist and well cooked. The sauces were great. I thought I had the winning dish but no, my wife did. The crab cake was rich and delicious using very little other than crab. The service was very good and attentive. Well worth a trip back as we do not live close.

Had fish sandwich and cup of butternut squash soup. Soup was delicious. Good fries too. The pickles that came with sandwich were yummy.

I decided to come in to Woodlands Grill and try this in advance of my church group making reservations for next week, so I wanted a sneak preview. And what a sneak preview THIS was. When I sat down in this nice interior which is good for casual dining, I had my server get me some fried calamari as an appetizer. That was a great choice! Wonderfully-seasoned (and hot) calamari was brought to my table with two different sauces (but preferring the cocktail sauce) and, together, it was great flavor all around. My main course was their trout (likely pan-seared) with a flavorful lemon caper sauce. The sides were fried polenta, sauteed spinach, and a stuffed artichoke. I loved the polenta and was very surprised at the light, international taste (as I've never had it before). That was a very nice touch. The trout and the sauce had wonderful flavor together. And the sauteed spinach was a great green veggie to put on the side here. Everything was washed down with a cold, fresh-brewed iced tea. Loving this Woodlands Grill! Didn't have room for dessert, but will try to catch it on my next visit, and that's going to be with my church group. Looking forward to this. A great sneak preview with great service, too. Fantastic visit!

My wife and I really enjoyed our time here. Had never heard of it, but wanted a place that took a reservation on Valentine's night, and this one did. It was a great choice. We both really liked our Bourbon Apple Ciders. The Spinach Artichoke Dip was excellent as our appetizer. My wife liked her crab cake a lot. My trout was good, but it was doused in too much sauce. Felt a little heavy. Service was quite attentive and friendly. With two drinks, and appetizer, two entrees, and one side (had the mac and cheese, which was super), our bill was $90 plus tip. Not a bad deal for a fun night out in a really nice place. Laid-back atmosphere. We would certainly return here.

My wife and I recently visited Woodlands for dinner. We have been a customer for about 10 years. We go about 9 or 10 times a year. In the past we have experienced good food at fair prices. We like to go Wednesdays for the 1/2 price wine by the glass special. This past Wednesday I had an unusually bad experience with a server behind the bar. As I approached to order 2 glasses of wine we were going to enjoy while we waited for a table in the dining area, A very rude lady asked me" What do you want" and before I could answer, she restated What do you want" I answered 2 glasses of wine. She then pointed out a large group entering and said to me Are you with them? I replied no. She then said I will get your 2 glasses of wine but you need to step back, your to close to the bar. When she brought the 2 glasses, she handed me the bill and said, here is what you owe and abruptly turned and walked away. I told the manager what happened and we left the glasses of wine and departed for another restaurant.

I have been dineing at the woodlands for almost ten years. It has always been a hit or miss experience. One week the food is excellent the next week it is margional. Some times the service is exceptional three days later the service is horrendous. That said; I keep going back, so draw your own conclusion. Usually the drinks are exceptional. All in all; overpriced.

We were a group of 15 so we were seated in a semi private back area which was really nice. There were many choices and we ordered several fish dishes, burgers, Mac & Cheese, and salad. Our server was attentive and kind, and dishes arrived in a short amount of time. Everyone was satisfied. Nothing special but very pleasant.

We had a wonderful dinner at the Woodlands. I had the pork chop , others had fish special, fish and chips and a steak. All in our party liked the food. Best part of the meal was it was very good for conversation. Our server was considerate, efficient and pleasant. Get the pork chops.

So pleased to finally get a good salad in Texas! I strongly recommend Woodlands. I had Salmon steak in a Caesar salad, beautifully cooked. My husband had a chicken meal - all were presented beautifully and the wait people were excellent. The restaurant was very well presented.

My wife brought our 13 month old and me here for lunch on a Tuesday. We had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. I had the Presron Burger and she had the ahi salad, both were delicious. The burger is huge and comes with a big side of fries. Definitely check this place out

My husband and I met my cousin and her husband for dinner here at their suggestion. It was a Wednesday and we almost went elsewhere. They were having Wine Down Wednesday and it seemed a little loud in the lobby. We persevered and were seated at a table away from the bar. My cousin ordered a fish plate which looked delicious. Her husband and I ordered the Reuben sandwich which was out of this world. My husband ordered their hamburger which he claimed was the best he had ever had. We took our time and caught up on family, business, sports, etc. and savored every bite of food. The service was great even though the restaurant was crowded. The level of noise was understandable due to their Wednesday promotion. We had no problem with our conversation--adjusting our level of conversation to meet the circumstances. We enjoyed the atmosphere and when we return to the area I can see us introducing other friends to this great restaurant.

Woodlands is one of my In-laws favorite places. And, it is a visual treat. The place is gorgeous. We went as a family to celebrate an occasion. The cocktails were wonderful, the wines enjoyable, the artichoke dip very nice. Dinner was OK and as my title says I would have preferred to give it a 3 1/2 as the food was good - better than average but not at the very good level. Similarly for my good rating below, 4 because there's no 3 1/2. But best of all, was the price. I'm from New York and in NY we pay more for this quality of food so I was overall happy - but I think that had more to do with celebrating the occasion rather than the food.

The two of us had an early dinner (and part of Happy Hour). We sat on the patio. Though it faces the parking lot and Forest Lane, the atmosphere was very good. We had the Greek dip appetizer, which was very good. Great was the flatbread and the Rachael with fries (basically a turkey Rueben). Coupled with the Happy Hour (house) wine. Excellent service. Will go again.

The food is good and there are delicious dessert selections. But, oh my, the noise is so loud. It is difficult to carry on a conversation. I don't understand why they don't do something about the acoustics.

I've lunched here several times, but this was my first dinner. It is somewhat pricey for a casual neighborhood place, but the food is worth it. It's not romantic, and the food is not cutting edge, but it's extremely good for what it is. I had a very nice sesame tuna, as rare as I requested, sliced thin over delicious sauteed Asian vegetables. It comes a starch (forget what), but they substituted a very nice Greek-style salad for me for an extra $2. My husband had the special, a very tasty macadamia encrusted mahi, which came with three large, perfectly fried shrimp and sides that pleased him, while my mother thought her pork chop was very well prepared. Our waiter was a delightful guy, but very professional.

Best food every time ! Love the cheese board too. Have tried everything on the menu. Salmon always excellent.

It’s been far too long since I’ve been here. The food is great. Nothing too fancy, cooked very well. The atmosphere is upscale cafe. It feels appropriate for a nice dinner or one that’s slightly more casual. The half walls break it up so that it doesn’t look too big. Tonight, the service was a bit questionable. I feel like maybe they were unexpectedly short waitstaff. So we waited a bit for drinks and whatnot but you could tell that everyone was pitching in as much as they could. There was a lot of hustling happening but everyone kept their game face on. Even the chef was on the floor serving food, bussing tables, etc. You’ve got to give them a lot of credit for that. And even with the chef in front of house, the food came out promptly. And it was hot and tasty. I got the tuna and it was everything I wanted. The Asian slaw and sriracha mashed potatoes were a perfect compliment. My grandmother got the pork chop, Mom got the sea bass, and my sister got chimmichurri steak. They all loved theirs (my grandmother doesn’t eat much and she finished every bit of hers) but I was too happy with mine to even worry about a taste of theirs. Definitely give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Three of us had dinner. The service is outstanding. A very good sandwich (the Rachael) with fries. The flatbread was good , but not great. All in all, would return but not outstanding.

We made an Open Table reservation here for our anniversary. We were kind of disappointed when we realized our table was in the bar, but I feel like we were sat there because there were only two of us & it was a small table. As expected the service wasn't that great because our server was always doing stuff at the bar. The food was great! (that's why I'm sticking with 4 stars) but the service really took it down from what could be a 5 star restaurant. Our server also offered to box up the food at the end but didn't put everything in the box so when we got home all we had was a sad piece of chicken, no baked potato. I wish they would have just let us box it up ourselves so we could have actually eaten it as a meal again.

Four of us dined at brunch. Great day so we could sit outside. Very pleasant. The food is very good. We had the GF caprese chicken, the chicken salad, French toast and an omelet. All were well received. A good gluten free menu. Outstanding service. We'll return.

Woodlands is consistent in whatever they serve. They have a nice, wide menu selection and the service is top-notch. Try their soups during the cold season

The Frank Lloyd Wright inspired building is somewhat incongruous amongst the strip mall and fast food establishments. The building would show much better on a mountain or by a body of water. But in part, that's part of what makes the place so special. Once inside guests are treated too attentive, professional service and creative yet consistently good food. The atmosphere is busy enough to work guess feel like they are part of something yet quite enough where they can hold a conversation. The Woodlands is always close to the top of my list when people say they want to eat out in his part of town. Make reservations but have no reservations about going.

Great wine and creative menu items. I love the salmon salad with fried capers and roster red peppers. ...or the steaks or the salmon. Their desserts are always very tasty and a little different that the usual Dallas fare.

The menu is extensive and the food is very good - borderline excellent. The restaurant is a little on the noisy side. Service was pretty good but the food took a while to arrive and then our server was no where to be seen. Eventually he did bring a tea refill. Parking lot is small for the size of this restaurant.

I make it a point to eat here when traveling to Dallas on business. I have yet to have anything I did not like and who knew you can get good fish away from the coast. This last trip was fish tacos with grilled swordfish....awesome!

Kind of "new york" views in Dallas downtown. Service, food and people makes you don't want to leave.

We went with friends for Thursday lunch and it was very pleasant. The food was good, the service was good and I especially recommend the poached pears.

Stopped here without knowing anything about the place, what a great surprise! My hubby had the salmon and loved it. I had a green salad which was presented beautifully and lots of ingredients that complimented eachother. Our server, Greg, walked us through the menu and gave us a wonderful dining experience.

Wednesday's wines are half price. Delicious hamburger, filet is very good and salads are very good. Service is very pleasant.

We took our grandkids (5 & 8) along with their parents for dinner. There was a sufficient kids menu. The wait staff was very friendly and they were excellent with the children. Meals were very good and the wine list was good also. The atmosphere is fairly quite and the furnishings are modern style. Clientele was mainly local and varied in age.
Pleasant out door patio
Large menu with special everyday. Nice wine list, relaxing patio with umbrellas. The chef seems amiable to adjust menu items to suit special diets.
