A great find in the UDistrict

By busybaker |

Delicious noodle dishes at this hole-in-the-wall at the far (N) end of the Ave. I had the cumin lamb and my husband had the "tingly beef." Both delicious - perfect comfort food on a cold day. The place was busy on a Friday lunchtime but not too hard to get a seat. Try it, you'll like it!

Great spicy noodles at a great price

I took my daughter here while visiting her at UW. Great place for a quick and good meal. The food was really good. Excellent noodles and loved the spice. The service was quick and the price reasonable. Great find.

Delicious hand pulled noodles!

The room a sparse and efficient. A QR code on your table enables you to order online. Your dishes are quickly brought to you. The hand pulled noodles are outstanding. We ordered an extra plate for dessert.

Tasty and spicy noodles

Really enjoy this place. Affordable and delicious hand cut noodles. Try to go here whenever I am hungry and find myself in the Udistrict.

Unique experience, very good food

By Lauren K |

The food was very good and the noodles were chewy with good mouth feel but it's a little hard to eat because they are really long and hard to break. We really liked the "spicy tingly beef noodles"- it had a lot of Szechuan peppercorns so it tasted great at the time but we tasted the garlic in our mouths all night. The veggie dry noodles were very bland. They have a bunch of sauces on the side so you can make sauce it to your taste. None of the food is really spicy- not even the wantons in chili oil- just deeply red. Very inexpensive and full of local Chinese. They also have hotpots but most people seem to be eating the noodle dishes. I would definitely recommend it- just bring gum!

Surprised and pleased

Our family decided to try this while visiting Seattle based on reviews. I am so glad we did. We were taken aback by the lack of polished decor in the restaurant. I highly recommend the Spicy Tingly Beef Hand Ripped Noodles. The Pot Stickers, Yummy. Everyone enjoyed their meals an servings were huge. We tried the garlic cucumber salad based on one if the reviews. It was not my thing. I'm sure it was fine but not something I would order again.Good food, large servings, good value.

Amazing Traditional Food

By Evan T |

A good friend took me here as it was representative of what he grew up eating with his family when they went for authentic Chinese food. The dishes are prepared quite well and have flavors that only come out by properly cooking marrow bones. A real delight.

Good hand pulled noodles

By Al L |

We had the wontons in chili sauce, garlic broccoli "salad" (really more cold cooked broccoli), and "tingly" spicy beef noodles to go. All were delicious, and served quickly, despite the restaurant hopping with a dinner crowd. The place is efficient: order at the counter and take a table if eating in. They will give you a plastic stand with a number and bring your food when it is ready. More American restaurants should follow this typically Australian way of serving - less waiting around than table service, but more pleasant than all counter service. We will be going back.

Delicious Chinese hand "ripped/stripped" noodles with many sauces

By Brown_Samantha |

We've been wanting to compare this place with Miah's Kitchen Biang Biang noodles for a few weeks, finally got to try it this weekend. It is located near 52nd on University Ave in the U-District. This area has so many places, competition has to be fierce. Well, no worries for this place if they continue to serve up freshly home made hand "ripped" or "stripped" noodles. Delicious!! We prefer this over the Biang Biang noodles. Has more flavor, and good with dry sauce or in soup. We got the spicy beef that came with cilantro and green cabbage, just the right amount of spice and seasoning. Also got the stewed pork with noodle in soup. The broth is good as well. Small dish of cucumber salad, came with sauce and cilantro. Found that to be just so-so, probably won't order again. We will be back soon! Free street parking close by.

cheap and tasty

By BackpackerNoMore62 |

Ten bucks for a tasty dish of fresh noodles makes for a good lunch in my book. Keep in mind that the noodles are VERY long, so they can be a bit difficult to eat.

Chinese restaurant out of rice at 5 pm

By Iggychic |

The dumplings are great. The sauce is hot as hell. We went across the street and bought soy sauce. O rice at dinner time so they substituted noodles which were yuck. My noodle soup broth had zero flavour The skewers were so spiced they burnt our mouth. We won't go back ever. Oh and they don't make tea....

Super Delicious hand pulled Chinese noodles :))

By G C |

This eatery is located in the UW district and features hand pulled noodles that are a must try for any Asian food aficionado :)). The place was packed with patrons happily enjoying their meals during our dinner visit... we found the cucumber salad, dry noodles with cumin flavored lamb, and the version with steamed chicken to be absolutely yummy (!!!). There’s a marvelous texture which results from the (laborious) dough stretching process that creates a wonderful gustatory experience... Portions are generous, prices are moderate, and we found the wait staff to be friendly/helpful too. Enjoy :)))

Great!

Stopped by here and thought it looked interesting - very glad we did. The noodles were amazing, and we enjoyed watching the kitchen making them. My boyfriend was slightly disappointed with his pork noodles but i think that was down to the english translations not being very descriptive, therefore we were uncertain what we ordered, but to be fair we didn’t ask for help!

Wow - great food

By Foodtwosome |

A nice modern simple restaurant with amazing food, based upon the two dishes we had. I opted for cumin spiced lamb noodles. Closest thing to what I ate in Xi'an. Sauce was not all that spicy, just rich and lush. Perfect foil for noodles. The noodles. Perfect. Perfect. He had the stewed pork, sauced was almost as good as the lamb. But what is noteworthy is that each dish tasted very different. Next time we're going to try the soup noodles. And then several of the sides. Lots there to like. And you can add chili, hot chili, sesame sauce and more to any dish. We'll be back again and again.

Zhēn bàng Noodles

By Going_with_Teen |

Extraordinary. Best noodles I've had in the States. Handmade and delicate, deliciously chewy noodles. A perfect compliment to the broth. Tried the pork soup; mild, simple broth, large serving, Wonton soup; spicy, delicate and filling. Potstickers, standard, very mild considering the chili pepper icon. A small side bar near the register has bowl of condiments to add to season to your personal taste. Pleasant staff kept people moving through quickly and tables clean. Don't forget to tip, it's not full service, but those kids were working hard.

Noodles and spring rolls for dinner

By ramsey48 |

This restaurant in the U district has all types of noodles I had cumin lamb biang noodles and spring rolls. The noodles were cooked to perfection and the spring rolls were nice and crispy. I did think that the prices were rather high but the portions are sizable since I took noodles home with me. Go early or order take out because I can get quite busy.

Delicious Hand Pulled Noodles

I had heard about this place opening and I finally ventured in. While I waited for my take out, the man sitting next to me said that he had been coming to eat there every day because it is that good. WhenI asked him, what he recommends, he said he just closes his eyes and points at the menu-and that so far, everything had been delicious. Our order was in fact delicious and especially flavorful. If you are looking for authentic asian noodles and sauces, this is your place. If you are in the U District, do not miss this place. And if you aren't in the U District, it is worth the trip. The restaurant is also well-staffed and friendly. There is a cooler where you can choose ingredients to be stir fried for you too.

Similar but not as good as NYC

By AndreaUbok |

I love Xi’an Noodles in Flushing and Chinatown, New York City. This looks like a similar menu and I was excited to see homemade lamb dumplings with a similar spicy sauce. So we sat down in the food court I’m waiting for our order. The food court was clean and quiet. There was visible security and lots of garbage receptacle. We ordered the lamb dumplings & spring rolls. The lamb dumpling were similar, the sauce and cilantro on top. The spring rolls were very salty and greasy. Our lunch cost double what we would have paid in NYC. I’m always taking it back for more charged $2.21 per bottle of water from Costco that costs us $.10

Spicy! I love it hot!

By SteveBTang |

Wow, this place makes some spicy noodles!! I generally like it spicy, and when i goto noodle places, i ask them to make it as spicy as possible.... But even then, most of the time, it's not that spicy.. Biut Xi'an Noodle proved me wrong.. I tried their "super spicy" noodle broth and it was REALLY spicy. It burned going down (but it hurt soooo good) and it will likely burn coming out.. I likely will regret this meal in the morning, but as of now , i love it! The dish i had was their spicy beef.. Really good.

Slurp! Moan! Chew! Repeat!

By washington_wahine |

I was writing another review on TA for a restaurant not far from here that cost about 20 times as much for 20 times less enjoyment. This is the most bang for your buck that you will find, foodwise, in Seattle. Forget those yuppie places like Din Tai Fung. This is yummy Asian at it's freshest and tastiest. Mostly noodles, but like none other.

Solidly good noodles

By vamsally |

The texture of noodles here are great. The tingly spicy versions are really not spicy, but worth a try.

Yummy noodles

Stopped in for a quick dinner and had a delicious bowl of hand shaved noodles with veggies. The broth was really good and quite garlicky. Enjoy!!

Very Much Do It Yourself, But Tasty And Quick

By FiftyFifty5050 |

We visit Seattle every other year from the UK as we have family here and have developed a routine of using the King County transport system to get us into the city, where we end up at the Westlake Center and, en route to the monorail, we stop off at Xi'An Noodles for lunch. Quite a modest menu, but freshly cooked to order and very tasty. The noodle bar has moved to a self service system using a screen, I didn't notice but my other half, who was sitting at a table, waiting, commented that the screen was covered in fingerprints and looked a bit greasy, which was sorted out by a quick spritz of hand sanitiser (a lasting good habit from Covid). We both had Biang noodles without soup and with different toppings. Very tasty, quite a challenge to eat with just a fork - perhaps the thinner noodles would have been easier but we both enjoyed our meal, convenient, well priced for Seattle and fills you up for a day of sightseeing and activity.

Delicious

By Claire |

Great flavor and value! I ordered the noodles with vegetables and loved my dish. The noodles were so fresh and reminded me of delicious dumpling dough. The vegetarian option came with stir fried onions and broccoli and was mild in flavor but there’s a large topping bar to spice up your food. I’ve heard Xi’an gets really busy for lunch and dinner but I didn’t have trouble finding a table around 3:30 on a Sunday.

Best noods ever!

This place set the bar now for all noodle dishes. First time ever having hand pulled noodles. So yummy. We want more.

Delicious noodles!

By Katelin M |

The noodles were incredible and the meat was super flavorful and tender! I believe we got the #2, it had beef and cilantro to accompany the noodles. The sauce was really tasty as well, a bit on the spicy side but delicious nonetheless. The dumplings were very good as well, definitely recommend!

A-mazing Noodles. The hype is for real.

By melindae91 |

Friend suggested this for lunch because it was deemed one of best Chinese noodle houses in Seattle. Not much to look at from outside. Near university district. But the noodles were so tender. Fresh. Hand pulled. Had the tingly beef noodles. Loved it. Nice sauce bar. Spice it up even more. Small seating. Order and payfirst. They'll bring to your table. This was before the covid19 take out only rule. I'm sure they do that. All the dishes other patrons were eating looked delish as well.

Feels like you stepped into a Chinese cafe

By loveDCA |

Their specialty is hand-pulled noodles and the top pics are the beef and lamb. Noodles can also be served as a soup or in sauce. I got the lamb noodles in sauce and the size was plentiful, but it could've used a little more kick for spice. My friend got the tomato/egg noodles in sauce and also enjoyed it. Portions are pretty big, especially when most dishes are under $10. Service is quick. You order at the counter and they bring it out to your table. A nice addition to the U-district (although they've been around for a year in this location).

Our share of dumplings at Xian

Best Noodle Find in Seattle

By ladybird108 |

This place is new to the University District and is well worth the visit if you enjoy delicious hand pulled noodles with extra yummy asian sauces. There are several tables available and even a cooler where you can choose ingredients to be stir fried. Vegetarian and Non-Veg dishes; excellent flavors; well-staffed establishment. Clean restaurant and everything on the menu meets expectations.

When in . . . Seattle

Within a walk from my hotel (Bellevue location), this was a great experience for a quick and solid meal. I don't get worldly foods where I live so this was a real, delicious treat.

Hidden Gem

By Sam N |

We recently traveled to Seattle for a college visit to UW. In review of various publications, we noted that this restaurant was listed as a hot new restaurant. After a morning of touring we decided to visit this restaurant. Don't expect trendy decor but the food is worth the wait. The lines were steady but the hand pulled noodles were well worth the wait. If you like great food be sure to give this place a try.

very tasty, delicious food

By countymd |

We ordered spicy cucumber, spicy dumplings, beef pao mo, lamps and beef noodles. They are all every good. the pao mo and noodles are chewy. the service was friendly. we went there early so the wait time was not too long. after a while, there was a long line waiting. overall, very good and tasty. mandatory to add 15% tips when serving 5 people above. will go back again.

Fantastic!

By myklrl |

Stopped here based on all the positive reviews with no idea what to expect (or what to order). At the recommendation of the cashier, ordered a pork noodle plate, and a beef noodle soup. Both were amazing - full of flavor with incredible noodles that you can tell are fresh and hand-made. We both agreed the plate was more flavorful than the soup, but that’s not to say the soup was bad by any stretch. Prices are fair and the service is fast and friendly. The portions are more than enough to fill you up. Highly recommended!!!

Authentic but Disappointing

By Jeff K |

The restaurant is located in a food court. You place your order on a screen and wait for your order. It took about 10 minutes to get the food. I had a soup of wide noodles with lamb plus an Asian potato salad. The soup was decent but was very difficult to eat as a lot of the noodles were fused together. The soup splashed everywhere as a result. The lamb flavor stayed with me for several hours which was annoying. The potato salad was interesting but not very good. Overall the food seems to be authentic but I didn’t care for it.

Delicious!

By Julie F |

I had the lamb cumin with hand shaven noodles and the wonton dumplings in chili oil broth. Both were delicious and I will definitely be back for more. Friendly service, clean. I do hear it gets busy, but I can around 4 pm and was able to get a seat and the food arrived quickly. Only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars was they only have plastic cutlery which I found a little annoying since this isn't just a take out restaurant. Fork with the chewy noodles would be nice for the chopstick inept. But even for the soup. I had the big soup ladle, or this flimsy tiny plastic spoon. Minor detail and shouldn't detract from coming! I will be back again and with friends!
