If you order a noodle dish you can choose what type of noodle you want: fat spaghetti, fettuccine... which was fun. Where we were seated we could see them making noodles and that was neat. My sister said the Dan Dan noodles were a great ratio of meat, noodle and broth. We liked the fresh vegetables and good flavors. The portions were large and reasonably priced.

Came here with my son. We ordered Xian noodles and stir-fried noodles. Both we excellent and very fresh. Xian noodles had just a bit too much sauce on it. Very attentive and friendly wait staff but the place was a bit noisy. We will come again.

Xian has a very good deal with their happy hour, although I often order off it. The happy hour runs all day on Sundays. I always take advantage of the half price Ruby Tuna appetizer. It's not a bad deal at $10, but $5 makes it a steal. They present fresh, untouched ikura in little cucumber cups for a charming sashimi, and the sashimi scallops come thinly sliced layered with paper thin slices of cucumber and topped with smelt eggs. It's delicious and pretty. I don't have photos of the noodle dishes, but they've all been great with one exception. The pappardelle noodles were a little too doughy; I think they were just too thick for the cooking method. All the other sizes have been wonderful.

A very nice sushi and noodle restaurant located near Bartholomew District Park, that makes their own hand-pulled noodles in house. It may not look like much, but the food is very good with the usual sushi rolls (Alaska Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, etc...) but their signature is the hand-pulled noodles. Choose from Vermicelli, Spaghetti, Thick Spaghetti, Fettuccine, Pappardelle, and Triangle.

Long time haven't I tasted something so Chinese in American. Everything is well made and the price is far beyond the quality.

What a beautiful experience I sow this in Paris France and I want to go to a restaurant with this kind of experience and finally I did and the experience is just stunning.. love all the food and even a 5 year old child love it

We met friends at this restaurant for lunch. They sent the address and we drove in circles looking until we noticed it in an obscure corner of the shopping center. Selection is vast and the flavors are wonderfully spicy Chinese (at least my dan dan noodles were). If you want a relaxed meal that has surprisingly good flavors, give this a try. You won't regret it.

This one had the family split. My wife, who is Chinese, was not impressed with her broth or the inconsistency in the noodle thickness. My oldest liked her bento box a lot and the youngest was OK. My fried rice was okay, but the chicken was very plain. Given the many options available, I doubt we will be back. Overall, Fine noodles, good bento box, plain fried rice.

We went on a Thursday about 6:15 pm and there was a 15 minute wait for two of us or we can sit at the sushi counter which was empty. By 7 pm, this counter was packed as well. During happy hour (I believe 5-7pm), there are several rolls for $5 and three hot appetizers and a few cold ones. We ordered way too much food (lobster dumplings, shrimp tempura roll, stir fry chicken w pappardelle noodle (you can choose from 6 different types I think, spaghetti, triangle, etc) and red braised beef noodle soup. You can easily share one entree (since the portions are large) and a few appetizers and it would be adequate. The stir fry was excellent and the soup was good but too full to enjoy it. I will definitely go back during happy hour.

I thought it would be disappointed and the food would be more Americanized. The food was pretty delicious. I recommend the spicy chili wontons and the beef dan dan noodles.

Wanted a quick roll for the road and they delivered! I’ve been looking for a good sushi place this far inland - would definitely come back again when I’m in town

Delicious made from scratch pasta. First time here while visiting in Austin. I love sushi but decided on having the noodles. Wonton soup was delicious and my husband had the a very spicy one but it was delicious as well. Definitely will be back.

I've tried three different hand pulled noodles in north American. Once in Montreal, once in New York and once in Austin. They are all very good. This restaurant offers chilli oil for the hand pulled noodle. While personally I don't like the Dan Dan noodle which is different from Chinese taste. Price is good, 25USD for 2 people eating is enough. I didn't tried the sushi, I think they are yummy too.

After living in Japan for three years and now in Texas for two months, my oldest was dying for Ramen. The good is the Ramen soup was good. The beware is that the beef noodle tasted overwhelming of ginger. The taste was not subtle. So I took my sons soup and he had my Ramen. We look forward making our way through the soup menu to find our favorites. My husband truly did enjoy his maki rolls so we will be back. Another strange addition was a bowl with a kids scissors provided for the kid meals. Apparently many locals do not realize noodles are made to slurp. No one starred as we passed on the scissors and slurped away!

Went on a bustling busy night with my son and husband. We sat at the bar across from the Sushi chefs. Really fresh and tasty! The appetizer portions are generous. The shrimp and veggie tempura was surprisingly good - light and crispy with ample veggies. Good value for prices paid.

While doing a random search for dinner Xian showed up, hand pulled noodles caught my attention. I had the Dan Dan Noodles with thick spaghetti noodles. My 2 companions had Ramen. The noodles are hand pulled to order so delicious. The broth and meat was very flavorful. Great food for a very reasonable price. It's a small place in a strip center in the Mueller area, trust me you wont be disappointed in the food. We didn't try any Sushi so I can only vouch for the noodle dishes but suspect it would be very good. Sorry for the photo, I was 3/4 way through before I stopped long enough to remember to take a pic.

We were here for dinner and the food and service did not disappoint. We ordered ramen which was delicious and flavorful. Definitely best ramen we’ve had in Austin.

As a person who loves eating noodles, of course I don't want to miss this resto, especially after reading great reviews here. I ordered beef soup noodle and ask the red chili sauce in the side as I would like to share it with my kid. The waitress warned me politely to make sure that I added some later otherwise the taste won't taste as good as it should be. I ordered also Dan-Dan noodle. I selected spaghetti for both noodles. Based on what I learned from the review, Spaghetti noodles are apparently the common request for most people, so they are always fresh. If you choose the uncommon one like fettuccine and go there not on weekend, you may get not the fresh one and may not as chewy as the spaghetti one. The portion is big....so order 2 could easily feed 3-4 people. The beef soup noodle is great. The broth tastes delicious. I added red chili sauce...wow...it really enhance the flavor....and this sauce is not that really spicy. The Dan-Dan noodle is disappointed. I don't like the sour taste in this noodle. I ordered also the salmon sushi and they were just ok. I think noodles are their speciality.

Wow, never thought I could find a Xi'an noddle house in the heart of TX. After a long day of flying noodle soup can get rid of hunger and thirst right away. The spicy chicken with clear noodle (liang pi) was that bomb! The hand pull noodle just taste much better than machine made.

This hand pulled noodle joint is fantastic. It's in a shopping center and not a very romantic place for a fancy night out but the food is very reasonably priced and delicious. Don't be put off by the fact that they offer both Japanese and Chinese fare. Both kinds were awesome.

The noodles and terrific spices were much enjoyed. My husband had the Tom Yam thin noodles with chicken and light Kirin beer. He really enjoyed his selection. Our guest had Shoyu Ramen pork with the thicker noodles and was very happy. I appreciated the lobster dumplings, seared scallops, spicy salmon roll, and hot sake.

Excellent stir fry noodles (fettucini and chicken). Noodles have lots of texture and great taste. Beef noodle soup very good, sushi sampler was so-so appetizer. Plenty left over for second meal at home.

Love this noodle shop, more for their noodle dishes than their sushi. Their broth for their noodle soup is so delicious, you'll want to drink it up. They make fresh hand pulled noodles and it tastes amazing. You're also able to select the thickness of your noodles which is a great option to choose different noodle sizes for different dishes. Our favorite go to lunch dish is their beef stir fry noodles.

My husband I came across this place by ourselves once. I had my husband bring me back with the kids for my birthday. We enjoyed their Happy Hour Sushi price and kids loved it also. We will go back. Such friendly staff.

I love a place that offers sweet potato sushi! The noodles were good too, very good priced for the amount of food. I would eat there again!

We had good service at lunchtime on the weekend. Nice decor. Both our dishes were tasty. My kids loved the Har Gow (shrimp in translucent wrapper)! I would really like to have a smaller portion available because I couldn't finish half of the giant $9 Tom Yam chicken noodle bowl.

We went on a Friday night that was pretty bustling-- we had to wait a few minutes (not long!) for a table and it was pretty noisy inside (hard for my dad to hear). We enjoyed the sushi, lots of sides (edamame, seaweed salad, etc.), and the noodle dishes. You can pick the type of noodle you want in some of them. I really enjoyed the cold (room temperature) noodle with chicken dish-- fresh veggies and not too much sauce. Our server was friendly and helpful.

This is one of the few locations in Austin where you can get authentic hand pulled Chinese Noodles. The chef makes them in house where you can observe him making the noodles at the counter. When you order a noodle dish you get to pick the thickness of the noodle as well. My favorites are the red braised beef noodles with papparadelle and the dan dan noodles with spaghetti. Do note that this place can get quite packed at dinner, and the wait time is generally double what the hostess tells you, so keep that in mind. Overall this is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin

Really fresh noodles in scrumptious soups and sauces. Also exciting sushi rolls, lots with a real zing. I had the Spicy lobster dumplings. Beautiful and perfectly flavored. A treat. This time I went simple and had the Xian Noodles with spaghetti noodles. The pork was fresh and came in large enough chunks that I could tell what I was eating. A multi-return restaurant.

I go to this shop all the time in Austin. I prefer their flexibility in choosing what type of noodles to go with your soup base. I always get the vermicelli with red-braised beef noodles. I can't vouch for either the sushi or other items here.

We didn't order the sushi. Maybe it was a mistake not to order what is listed first in the restaurant's name. I did order the noodles. I agree with everyone who says the noodles are wonderful: fresh and just chewy enough. But... why was this dish so bland? It tasted only of the peanut sauce, not much else, and the pieces of chicken were rubbery and flavorless. Then there was the fried rice. Granted, it's a hackneyed dish. However, my husband loves it, so that's what he ordered. It was, I hate to say, terrible. The rice was soggy with grease; the dish itself had no other taste. Could it be the wok had too much oil that wasn't hot enough? I don't know, but if he refuses to take the leftovers home, we have a serious problem. My quest for good Asian food in Austin will continue.

This place is quite good and reminds me of many of the really good beef noodle soup places on yong kang area of taipei. We’ve gone several times and love it. The sashimi is very good and the kids like the dumplings too. I had the red braised beef noodle soup with bok choy with thick spaghetti. Yummy and kid approved

I was in Xian last month and grew addicted to their hand cut noodles, consequently, this place intrigued me. Wow! I had the Dan Dan triangle noodles which couldn't have been better, cooked perfectly al dente. They were served in a chili oil sauce that had just the right amount of heat. Maybe a little heavy on the meat for my tastes, but that's a mere quibble. The pork bun starter was equally toothsome. And the price was very reasonable. Top notch!

I loved the atmosphere of this place, it had a really modern comfortable feel. The selection on the menu was very different from any asian restaurant I have visited. There were many selections for homemade pulled noodles and you could choose the style of noodle you wanted. I chose and alfredo noodle with pork and the meal was delicious. They also had several selections of sushi and sushimi. Overall the experience was very nice.

This is a nice Chinese and Japanese sushi combination restaurant. The hand made Chinese noodles are their specialty and you can get many different flavor ramen or noodles to suit your taste. The sushi are fresh and the rolls are bigger than most places in town. Our favorite is the all day happy hour where you can get traditional Chinese appetizers and Japanese sushi starters for much less than regular price. This is has become our neighborhood favorite and this is the best Asian food you are going to get east of I-35. Did I mentioned that our favorite is the all day happy hour on Sunday?

I've been here twice and their hand pulled noodles are great. They are fresh and authentic. I got the dan dan noodles and loved them. They are a little bit pricey but worth it every once in a while.

Went with my sons family. My wife had a noodle dish which I sampled and found quite good. I was trying to stay low-carb though so I got sashimi, which was also very good. We sat towards the back where a chef was making noodles, and that made for an enjoyable show.

I've been to Xian in China a few times and I love the noodles there so I was thrilled to see this restaurant in Austin. The noodles were very good but not very hot temperature-wise. I picked the noodles that had baby bock choy, thinking I could use some veggie. The amount of bock choy was so minuscule you would need a magnifying glass to find it!! If they could bring the food out hot and add some veggie, it would be excellent. Oh well.

We've eaten at Xian a couple of times in the last month, and are happy to return. The best dish I've had is Treasure Island, and it is one of the best dishes I've ever had anywhere. It presents as a circle of sliced avocado standing on edge containing pieces of different raw fish in a mildly spicy mayo/ponzu sauce, all of which sits in a pool of umami heavy ponzu. The generous sprinkling of sesame seeds adds texture in two ways, the dry crispy seeds and the ones that sit in the sauce and thicken it. And there's a surprise: the fish rest on a bed of daikon noodles. At $10, this is an amazing deal. OK, enough of my favorite. After all, Xian is also known for its hand pulled noodles. And they are great. The triangle noodles are our favorite, but you won't go wrong with any of them. I would recommend against the chicken stir fried noodles. The flavor is great, but we've tried this twice, and both times the chicken came out overcooked to the point of almost inedible dryness. The beef is much better cooked in the same dish, but it is definitely chewy because of the cut of meat. Still, it was quite nice to eat. The shoyu ramen was good, but not brilliant. And I think it's lovely that they have a small green (plus cherry tomatoes) salad. For $2, you get yourself a little bit of fresh veggies.

Great food and service and very reasonable prices. The beef noodles were just amazing. Would definitely come back

For our quick biz lunch, we stopped into Xian - my first time. The raves about the noodles made daily from scratch are spot on! While we waited for our orders to be prepped we watched the dough man throw, stretch, pull, roll, twist and make great noodles. We shared the salad and each had miso soup. The vegetarian roll and Boston roll were not competitive, just average at best. But the Dan Dan noodles with beef and the Xian noodles with pork were very good. Our server Jinjing was super attentive and made the new place even better on my first visit. Try the namesake Xian noodles! There is a lot of hot oil sauce in the Dan Dan noodles to the point of nearly overdone. But both bowls were delicious!

We saw this place on a show and we put it on our list to visit, so glad we made the effort. You can watch him hand pull your noodles, which are perfect and delicious! We went at lunch and I highly recommend the stir fried noodles, triangle style, and the pork buns! We also had the dan dan which seems quite popular, it does have a kick. All great. Waitress was nice and attentive.

I have never had hand-pulled noodles... and now I have and I am addicted!!! The stir-fried noodles with chicken is awesome. And the sushi is delicious too!!

Visiting Austin again with my family and everyone wanted to come back here for a second try. I went low carb last time but this time gave in and had the Dan Dan noodles. They were pleasantly spicy but not overpowering. There was ground chile in oil at the table though, so the heat could be ramped up per individual taste. My granddaughter enjoyed her noodle dish. They provided kid chopsticks secured at the top with a rubber band, and she did a great job demolishing her noodles with them. Soon she will graduate to regular chopsticks. Great fun!

This was the first time at Xian. The sushi was not the best but the noodles were great. We got the Dan Dan noodles and it was very good.

Handmade noodles are a rare find but I come here once a week now and get my fill. Good sushi, affordable, lunch menu is fantastic. They have a deal where you let the chef pick out your sushi. Makes decision easy.
Cool lunch spot
Big group of coworkers had lunch here recently. I had beef stir fry noodles, excellent noodles, wasn't crazy over beef texture, also loved the blistered green beans. Others enjoyed sushi, fried rice and egg rolls. Next time, I want to have a noodle dish in broth.
