Great place for dinner in Manayunk. We ordered the gyoza and multiple rolls. It was very clear that they use high quality ingredients here. Great atmosphere, nice interior and enjoyable dining experience. Would definitely return.

Passed by this restaurant during lunch. Went in 'cause we're craving for Japanese food. Lunch was around $15-18. Service was slow despite there wasn't many customers. Food was decent. A good choice for Japanese food in the area.

Yanako is a favorite for our family, and we return here quite often for the consistent service, delicious food, and great atmosphere. Excellent Japanese cuisine, and while their sister restaurant- Chabaa Thai- is relocating, they have Thai classics as well.

Great food, presentation, and restaurant build out. We will be back! (not sure why I have to type 100 characters but here you go lol)

A small start-up sushi joint has a big problem maintaining a menu with a lot of variety. One solution is a small menu with a focus on quality and that's what you get at Yanako. The wood-paneled room is charming and the service is friendly and accommodating. Bring your own sake or beer.

We tried here for dinner on a Thursday night, mostly because we wanted something different. We were treated to a great atmosphere, fantastic service, and a flawless meal. I started with a Philadelphia roll, which provided 6 big pieces of sushi with a very good wasabi, that was not overly spicy, and a ginger that was a little assertive for me (it was not the fault of the ginger...I usually don't like ginger with my sushi). My entree consisted of a crusted chicken breast that was perfectly crusted, not overly thick or soggy. It was provided with two sauces, one sweet and the other savory. I enjoyed using both. The experience was amazing and we hope to return soon. The atmosphere was great, very good vibe. The service was outstanding. Just a great all around experience for when you want something different.

The rolls if you split them, are a decent deal. Plus, it has turned me onto sushi. It's gourmet Japanese food instead of mall teriyaki chicken (which I love) so keep that in mind. Not cheap! But get the front table and bring your own wine, and its a great date or friend date.

Joel make my experience extra enjoyable with his great recommendations. The sushi is fresh and delicious. Also enjoyed the shumai and edamame appetizers. BYOB!!!!

My first impress is staff. They are very friendly, care and good service I enjoy a lot all menu we order, sushi, avocado salad, especially the last one in picture i added. I can't remember the name. I really like it. So yummy. It good for starter too.

Went with a large group to celebrate friend's birthday. They have an upstairs area, which can seat large groups. Thank goodness it was a BYOB. I had the chicken teriyaki, wife had lobster tempura, others had what looked to be an excellent salmon tempura. Others had sushi, dumplings, etc. Service was overall good, especially for a large crowd, which took up two tables.

I wanted to go to Chabaa, which was closed. The sign in the door said a limited Thai menu was available at Yanko. After being seated, I found out that Thai items were only available on the restaurant week menu. I was very disappointed by that because I didn't want to have to order a four course dinner just to get Pad Thai. I ended up ordering salmon teriyaki. It took an hour for our entrees to come out. Our waiter was nice and the food was good but an hour for entrees to come out is too long.

I thought the food here was very fresh, nicely spiced, nothing too overwhelming, seemed authentic (but what do I know?), and the service was excellent. Our female serveer helped us out (newbies to sushi) and she was spot on with all her advice. We had soups, sushi, teriyaki, tempura, and since we brought our own bottle of wine, the final bill was not bad. No bottle cork fee (I appreciate that). Glad it's in my back yard. I will return from time to time.

Food and service was amazing. Atmosphere is very relaxed. Staff knowledgeable about the menu. Had a great time. Will definitely ear there again.

I was very pleasantly surprised with this little Thai place. The atmosphere was very serene, the staff extremely attentive, and the food was delicious and authentic. My co-worker found the food a little too spicey, but I thought it was perfect! I would encourage you to try this wonderful little restaurant!

Me any my wife like to eat Thai food. We haven't had any in years and we decided at the spur of the moment to try out this place. When we went in the staff were friendly and the place was clean. Definitely liked the interior decoration, but felt that the seating was too close to each other to enjoy any privacy. I got the green curry with beef and it was spicy. By the middle of the bowl my nose was running and I felt hot. I definitely enjoyed it and it had so much flavor. My wife ate the red curry one with chicken and hers was much more mild and it also tasted great. We did try the appetizer of the chicken on skewers with peanut sauce and we were impressed. We definitely want to go back and would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes Thai food.

We enjoyed a family birthday dinner for 5 people last week. Some appetizers priced a bit high but the entrees are a good deal. BYOB makes it affordable. A bit noisy when filled with people. I would prefer sitting downstairs for smaller party.

Excellent food, you can choose between Japanese and Thai restaurant Chabaa menu or mix and match. The atmosphere snd service was wonderful

The food is always top notch here! Every single sushi choice is amazing and there are always interesting specials like the beef sushi appetizer! The service is equally exceptional. It's BYOB and definitely a gem of Manayunk.
Best in Manayunk
As a Manayunk resident, Yanako is our favorite restaurant in the area. The food is always excellent, fresh, and delicious. The atmosphere is unique and beautiful. The waitstaff are friendly and helpful and seem passionate about the food they serve. One of the best parts is that Chabaa Thai is also available from the Yanako kitchen while their own restaurant is being renovated. You can get amazing Thai and Japanese at the same time, which is hard to beat.
