Great time - twice!

By Mchumphries72 |

We liked this place so much we actually went twice during our trip to San Antonio. First time was for some draft ciders and Octoberfest. We had a pizza and boneless wings. Excellent for bar food. Next trip we just had burgers and tacos. Again. Great service and great food. Highly recommend.

Great Food, Great Location, Great Atmosphere

By Mtzk316 |

We were In San Antonio staying at the Marriot River Center for a conference. We ate at Yard House 6 times. First time my wife ordered the shrimp tacos and I ordered the grilled chicken Philly. Antonio was our waiter and he took good care of us. The food was good. We returned the next day for lunch and ordered the pepper whisky wings and the Korean chile garlic wings with the Parmesan truffle fries. Luiz was our waiter and he was really helpful. Wings were so good we went back 3 other times for the wings. Next to the last visit, my wife ordered the lobster shrimp pasta and I had a burger. She said the pasta was the best dish that she had in San Antonio. The burger had me so full that we had to push our dinner reservations back 2 hours. We stopped by every night for a dessert. We loved the bread pudding. The brownie and chocolate cake were good. Unfortunately our last day there, our waitress was kind of all over the place and the wings were not as good but a manager came by and made everything better. If we ever return to San Antonio, it’s no doubt that we will dine at Yard House again.

Great Atmosphere with a terrific selection of draft beers

By Ashleigh G |

This place had an amazing atmosphere. The bar was also impressive. Nate, the manager was friendly and enjoyable to conversate with. My husband ordered the Chicken Nachos that he said were amazing and it was a sizeable portion (could be for 2). Unfortunately, I ordered a Margherita pizza. When my pizza did not arrive after my husband had started eating, I was informed by the bartender, Gaige, that my order had been "dropped" but that they were placing a rush on it. The result was a charred pizza. It was comped by Gaige. Overall, a relaxing environment in the early afternoon.

Great Food & Service During Busy Lunch Hour

By LuvToTravelx2 |

During our trip to the Riverwalk we ventured to the River Center Mall area to find a place for lunch and hopefully escape the summer heat. We dine often at Yard House in various states so figured we would give this location it a try. Apparently this is the place du jour during the lunch hour because there were a lot of people with company badges. Time was on our side so we sullied up to the bar and received prompt friendly service. The beer was cold! As anticipated, our entrees took a while to arrive but they were spot on with what we expect at Yard House. We actually came back the next day when they opened the doors!

Great happy hour

By Mjlock |

Went for a drink and appetizer during happy hour. Great beer selection and we had/dolit the chicken nachos as an app which was on their happy hour menu- you can’t beat the happy hour price.

Always an awesome experience and great food

By Oliver T |

Went to the Yard House and were seated in the skyway part of the restaurant. Awesome views. Great food and a good atmosphere. A must see.

Good Happy Hour

By missouri5 |

Enjoyed the afternoon happy hour prices for food and beer. The service at the bar was very good. Good location on the Riverwalk though a little difficult to spot the door.

Great food and service

By James D |

The location and food was great, at lunch appetizers were half off. At first we were going to sit inside main building but music was blaring. We moved to table on bridge and it was great and we could see the river. A great place for a family.

Always To go

By Kymmie1 |

Yard House is in a superb location to the Marriott Riverwalk and the food is always great. Burgers are delicious and juicy and the there are plenty of food choices. We usually do take out and the food is always fresh.

Late night

By Mike S |

This place is up and down. But it's open late and has a wide selection of food and a Lotta Lotta beers...............over all definitely worth checking out late night

Too busy/missed opportunities

By Phllps9 |

The food was good. They didn’t seem to have enough staff. There was confusion as to who ordered what and they appeared to be put off by that. They put 20+ ordered on one bill so by the end of dinner we had to wait for them to go around the table to figure out how to break it out.

Vegetarians can eat here

By JETT |

Ate here at the suggestion of our vegetarian friends. Everyone had different meals, and all of it was good. I asked for a single item with fries and they accommodated easily. My hubby had a burger, which was thick and cooked perfectly. It's a good place for grown-up groups.

Late supper

By DizzyBlonde23 |

On arriving late into San Antonio we were looking for somewhere near our hotel which was still serving food and came across Yard House. On entering although later on it was busy with a good atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful. We just ordered 2 soft drinks along with a grilled cheese sandwich which was served with a bowl of tomato soup. This was served quickly, was reasonably priced and was very hot and tasty. Would recommend visiting for drinks, eating or both and would visit again if ever in San Antonio.

Lunch with Family

This was our first visit to the Yard House restaurant. From the moment we arrived I knew we were at the right place. Our server Tyne was excellent thru out the meal. Food was wonderful especially the appetizer Firecracker shrimp. We will be back

Nice happy hour

By Vacationer9898 |

After a long day at a conference, Yard House proved to be the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a well-earned happy hour. The atmosphere struck an ideal balance — lively enough to feel social, yet relaxed enough to truly recharge. With its extensive beer selection and impressive lineup of half-price appetizers, this venue delivers exactly what you want after a busy day — quality food, cold drinks, and a comfortable setting. There was no shortage of space, and the noise level remained just right for casual conversation. While our server, Chennette, took our initial order and didn’t return to the table, the rest of the wait staff seamlessly stepped in to provide attentive service, keeping our drinks filled and ensuring everything ran smoothly. Their teamwork really stood out and added to the positive experience. By the end of our visit, we left smiling — satisfied with both the food and the service. Yard House is an excellent choice for those looking to relax with friends or colleagues over great bites and brews in a welcoming, modern setting. We’ll definitely be returning.

Disappointed family dinner

By lexus7831 |

Party family of 8. Only came for gluten-free menu. Mess up early with wrong amount of people, our fault. My husband ordered dr pepper, forgotten!! So everyone has drinks but him. We finally order THEY FORGOT HIS MEAL. SO the guy paying for everything got no soda and no meal. Waiter informs us who's FORGOTyourfood, .....over20 minutes later they bring him his meal!!! How is this " on the fly" 20 minutes later??? Everyone has eaten!!! Mine was supposed to be a rice bowl, steak. Not one piece of rice found and very spicy. Late dinner. Family in from UK and Oregon. 1st time to San Antonio for them!! We've been to Riverwalk 5 or 6 times no problem, sooooo frustrating. Kentucky pumpkin beer great, otherwise nothing special food wise and management got a lecture from me on what on the fly is supposed to mean !! Won't be back

New favorite for me!

By avis l |

First visit. I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonably-priced, interesting, variety menu. I tried the red quinoa salad. Delicious, and kind to my recently sensitive stomach. We had an international table, with visiting professionals from the Phillipines. They had eaten other places in town, but this restaurant satisfied their craving for a good steak. One party chose the Shitake Noodles as an appetizer,, so good I made immediate plans to come back with my husband. Broccolini seems to be their veg of choice, and they do it well. Nice variation from what you get elsewhere. Nice-sized portions that are share-friendly. Located in a downtown mall, so be prepared to walk from your car. Pleasant mall, convenient and perfect for tourists, conference attendees and out-of-towners,, but I was happy to find out there is another location in town that we locals might favor. Both are great. The food merits the "scratch-kitchen" description.

Too many beers.......just kidding

By Kevin M |

Went to the Yard House a few times this week. Once for a night cap, and the servers were excellent and witty. Went later in the week for another nightcap, and the food and drinks were great.

Ho hum

By Rob |

Typical chain food and bar. If you can’t find a beer here that you like, well…. Good TVs and beer, but nothing spectacular. Ho hum, ho hum.

Always good and very good service !

By LpL |

Always good and very good service ! Thank you Alvaro ! We will return as soon as de come back in Texas.

Huge Menu and Beer Selection

By Kaleb S |

This restaurant has a massive dining room, an extensive menu, and a huge beer selection! If you can't find something that you like, then you are way too picky. We were sat quite easily on a busy night and our service was great!

If you haven't given the YARD HOUSE a try, you're TOTALLY missing out!

By Red_N_Resa |

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE! I've been here for 9 years and discovered this place about 2 years ago, staying in the Marriott, they were the ONLY descent place to get a late night meal. So I (we) ordered the Lobster Garlic Noodles and Hubby got the 20 oz Ribeye (med rare), it was the BEST! Since then I have tried other things on the menu, eaten in the restaurant the atmosphere is amazingly social, especially to watch sports. I love the drinks, but especially when special ordered for me and hand delivered by the mixologist. It van get a little crowded with visiting tourists and convention folks, but it hasn't stop me once from going. No matter what I ALWAYS go back to the Lobster & Garlic Noodles (about 8x a year), when trying to eat light, its the Mushroom & Garlic noodles. I am a ride share driver and to ALL my passengers, local or not, I ALWAYS suggest, if they have dinner plans, to give the Yard House a try especially for the steaks (which I think are the BEST in San Antonio), the Parmesan fries and especially the Lobster & Garlic Noodles. If you haven't given this place a try, you're TOTALLY missing out! PS I've never tried the one at La Cantera, only the one on Commerce Street.

Good Food, Great Location

By Ray-n-Sol |

We enjoyed the dinner while overlooking the river. The service was good. The shiitake garlic noodles were pungent with a sauce that complimented the mushrooms. The gardein orange course was done very well. The atmosphere was enjoyable but it likely is really hopping on game days. We highly recommend this eatery.

Beautiful location, great menu, fantatsic drink selection, questionable food

By Kimberly S |

After caroling on the Riverwalk, my family decided to continue the fun and eat downtown before returning home. We quickly settled upon a restaurant that could support vegetarians as well as carnivores and was within walking distance. We called ahead and walked in with no wait. (Let's hear it for Monday evenings!) The space was surprisingly large for riverwalk footage. We sat on the cross-through portion, which was lovely with the riverwalk holiday lights. GREAT atmosphere. The wait staff was still spread thin and we didn't see our waiter often. His understanding of the menu was spectacular and he was also able to give fantastic recommendations for beer, cider, and wine. We ordered quickly and had a long wait for our food, long enough we were concerned our order had been placed. Just as we went to search, our food was delievered. It wasn't anything spectacular, though portion sizes were typically-American large. The flavors weren't great (sweet and sour chicken was heavy on bread, mac and cheese was heavy on cheese but not flavorful, etc.) The food wasn't consistently warm, either. As the sweet and sour chicken was tough, I wonder if some of the food was prepared more quickly and then held until the rest was made. Most concerning, though, was that three of the four of us got sick overnight, suffering from stomach and digestive issues. Given the long wait for our food, I wonder what happened in the kitchen. My sister loves this restaurant and hasn't had issues before, so we may have caught the Yard House on an off night.

Excellent Food and Service

By Illinois_John |

Went here for dinner with my wife and 3 grandchildren (ages: 15, 12, 10). We negotiated with the hostess to be seated in a large booth so my wife would not be so cold. Even though they were at a low server level due to a shift change, we were eventually seated in a booth. We were all able to find menu items to our liking and most were on the early bird special menu. The drinks took a while to arrive, but the food came in a reasonable amount of time. Everything delivered to the table was eaten so it must have been good for our picky eaters to finish it all.

OUTSTANDING

By Wandrlustrcloudustr |

Hubby, BIL/SIL & I dined last night. Only 10 min wait after using call ahead seating. Hubby & I ordered halibut, ( a tad over cooked but sauce saved it) & it was DELICIOUS!!! Beers nice & cold! Others ordered grilled chicken salad & grilled chicken avocado sand, which they were very happy with! Our server Miranca was FABULOUS, professional & kind!!! GREAT FOOD & SERVICE! Highly recommend!

Great lunch stop

By Eric B |

We had a relaxing lunch today at the Yard House with some apps, sandwiches, and salads. They have a variety of food and a stupendous selection of beers.

Great food! But pricey!

By Matt & Heather |

We had a great experience! Food was phenomenal! Service was stellar. But the menu was overpriced. We had a party of 7, bill was $190 with tip. Pretty pricey since no alcohol was ordered. We probably wouldn’t return, just for the price alone. But everything else was spot on and enjoyable. Our party ordered 5 burgers with fries, Mac and cheese, and 2 appetizers; and iced teas were $3.25 - for an idea of value.

Terrible effort on their part.

By Bob Dorsett |

1 being the worst. Awful service with waitstaff that disregards people. I understand this is a tourist town and a tourist location but these people are not good.

Quiet for a Lunch Meeting

By passingthrough95 |

Met here for lunch with clients. Concerned about being able to have a conversation, but this restaurant had booths away from the bar that were good for a lunchtime business conversation. Good food selection too, not just burgers.

Awesome food and service

By Tulsabobt |

We walked into this place after discovering many of the downtown steakhouses were booked up with reservations. We got a table within 30 minutes and our server (wish I could remember her name) was awesome. My wife had a filet but likes them well done ( a tough task without butterflying them) but hers came out perfect! I had the Nashville hot chicken and it was one of the best things I have ever had. We finished the meal with the tro of mini desserts which were equally excellent. Love this place.

Will go back for happy hour

By Jackie |

Had an enjoyable lunch Loved the tomato bisque, but the roast beef dip was just so so. Queso was very good. Will go back for half price apps at happy hour and pint discounts. This place has a great atmosphere and prices are typical for the area.

The queso was divine & half price

By sabrinad652 |

Located inside a Riverside Shops near the Alamo. Erica was my bartender & she was awesome! I felt like she worked an entire bar by herself & its a big bar. Happy hour was great & I like the prices. The pizza is pizza, just a good price. The queso was devine. I highly recommend. Paradise Found Mojito & the Mailbu Peach Martini were winner cocktails. Great evening stop.

Good pub food. In mall, very convenient to Marriott.

By luvtotravel0330 |

Good pub food. Good service. We are appetizers as meals and were very satisfied. By far, the spinach dip was the best thing we ordered!

Service a tinge slow.

By Whereto2next |

We visited during Fiesta San Antonio. Thankfully the place was not crowded at all. It was rather slow actually. Still, our service was a bit slow and labored. The food was about average for yard house.

Not Bad

By marfak |

Although this is chain, the food was pretty good and we sat at a table overlooking the River Walk. Service was fine. It is in the RiverCenter so we did not have to go outside in the 100 degree heat to walk to it!

FUN PLACE

By Leslie G |

The food and service was excellent! Beer on tap was COLD! Prices were reasonable. Loved it. There was a group of 6 of us and they accommodated us easily. We also had close parking in the garage next door.

Food allergy friendly. Gluten free menu.

By Chasnas |

Gluten free menu! Excellent service and great food. The atmosphere is is family friend and the service was great. They took special care for the food allergies.

Nice Place!

By Bertha55 |

Had lunch at the Yardhouse location connected to the Marriott River center. Very nice, clean, modern restaurant. The menu has a great variety of options to choose from. I had the sliders and chicken tortilla soup. Both were very good. Prices were reasonable. I would definitely visit again if ion the area.

Not on my list to return

By DDLSMC |

The food was good. It wasn’t excellent. The cocktails were ok. The service was slow ! I wouldn’t go back but it was ok after we drove in from Houston and wanted to unwind a bit.

Great late night dinner

By TXTraveller2 |

Enjoyed a late dinner after 10:30pm on a Monday night. Lots of people dining. Always a great menu and beer selection. Nice, friendly staff—great way to end the night.

Refreshingly good

By Big Chris |

During our short stay in SA, it seems we were a magnet for overpriced bad food. The yard house was the ONLY exception. We had the Nacho app and spinach dip app. The nachos were great and plentiful. Wife said spinach dip was best she’s had. Nice environment and good service too. We’d definitely eat here again. Tried a half yard of some Irish crafted ale and it was the best I’ve had in a long time. Yum! I’d love to try some more of their menu!

Nice experience close to the riverwalk

By Francisco V |

This was my first time visiting a Yard House. Location was great. Food and service are also quite good. Highly recommended.

Bar food & drinks.

By Moderndaytravelette |

Servers were friendly but the food was basic bar food. Perfect for a sporting event & not expensive. Their women’s restrooms could use some extra attention. Got the “there’s a camera in here” vibes.

I compare this place to sort of a slightly lower end BJs. Lots of beers, decent menu

By davidr |

Service was fine but not exceptional. Our server had too many tables all getting busy so sometimes hard to get his attention. We had some hot wings and a tower of Onion Rings. These were both great. We should have doubled the orders and been happy. We did order a Jambalaya for me, NOT GOOD! Not rice. Pasta. The pasta was more like Chinese or even Thai thin pasta. It didnt work with the dish. The waiter told me it was supremely spicy. It was not. Wife had a filet and it was apparently good enough. She almost finished it. Good assortment of Beers. I had a Guiness and it was served Ice Cold as I like it but they also had it at room temp if I preferred it that way.

Great choices great food

By Stephen D |

MMMMM great lunch Busy day at TMEA, took almost 45 minutes to get seated, but the lunch pizza and tomato soup was wonderful. Friendly staff, nice ambiance. Ill be back.

Light lunch 🥗

By CapeHorn21 |

Mooshu egg roll app were really good with a hint of sesame oil. The Grilled Chicken Kale Caesar Salad entree was really fresh with a great variety of well paired toppings. Thanks Megan!

Late night takeout

By Jeffrey T |

Turned up late (2230ish) for some gluten free take out. If I’d realised they were open late I’d have eaten in. We were staying at the Menger and packing for late departure. Service was great. Staff really knowledgeable about the menu and what they could do to assist. They have the best range of beers available that I’d seen since being in town. Also had a good range of sports on the Tv too. Managed to catch part of the Singapore F1 Grand Prix live. Fully recommended this establishment and wish I’d found it earlier.

Great menu for all dietary needs!

By Arty_mom |

Yha staff is friendly, our waiter was very funny, ans professional. Great drink menu with Happy Hour prices, too. Great menu, wonderful atmosphere. the 6 oerson booths offer privacy and buffers noise. we enjoyed our drinks, sweet potato fries, gluten-free impossible burgers, shrimp, avocado toast, and more. great food. resobale prices for a dowtown/tourist area. Close to the Riverwalk, Alamo, and lots of shopping.

Large portions

By rmscheer |

Visting family in San Antonio and had delicious lunch here. Portions were large, especially for lunch. Food was tasty and served promptly. However, the price was a bit high.

Good food, LOUD music!

By Bill R |

The food was good, service was OK, music was way too loud! Good location on the Riverwalk. Lots TVs with multiple sports choices.

Love This Place

By Wine30GA |

Delicious food, hearty portions, excellent service and location is perfect along the riverwalk. Highly recommend

Enjoyed so much that went back a 2nd time in a week!

By vagabondgrandparents |

It's basically a sports bar/restaurant, but we sat in the back room and it wasn't as noisy as the rest of the restaurant where there was a "scene". Reasonable prices.

Good food and service

By julio6925 |

No issues during the visit. The food was good and the service was friendly. The speed was also fine. We would go back again.

Good food and atmosphere

By Bill N |

Arrived on busy without reservations immediately seated. The draft selection is endless and served cold. Had the grilled chicken and sweet potato fries it was yummy. The server was friendly and knowledgeable.

Excellent Food & Service

By Steve D |

Ate lunch here while visiting San Antonio. The food and service were very good. This place is a little hard to find in the River Walk Mall, but is worth looking for. From what we noticed, it is probably one of the better choices in the area.

SLOW Service

By Heather9876 |

We're not sure what happened. We got their first; literally, the section over the Riverwalk was empty tables but ours. Many others from our conference and elsewhere sat at tables after us. They all had their orders taken before ours, were served first, got their checks and left before we did!!! We were 30 minutes late getting back to our conference. Thank goodness the Cobb Salad I ate was a good portion and tasty! I usually enjoy Yard House restaurants. I know it gets busy at lunch time on the Riverwalk; so, it seems management needs to hire extra staff for about a 3 hour lunch shift.

Yummy affordable fare!

By fairgirl59 |

I love this restaurant, as it offers a variety of foods - not just Mexican, American, or Asian. There are a number of items which offer two serving sizes.

Great food, great drinks, great service!

By lhotaling8 |

We had lunch at Yard House and were pleased with the food, service and drinks. They have an extensive beer list, a good selection of local and non-local ciders and the lunch specials were delicious. The garlic shiitake pasta was great and a huge portion, and the soup and salad were great. The cheese curds were also quite yummy! The restaurant is quite large and accommodates large parties easily as well as families. The restaurant was conveniently located behind the Marriott Rivercenter and we were able to get to the restaurant without going out in the rain. Great stop for lunch or dinner!

Picturesque And Crowded Spot On The Riverwalk

By JYarba |

This branch of the Yard House chain of restaurants has a great location right on the San Antonio Riverwalk, right next to the gargantuan Marriott and Hyatt properties. Unfortunately this convenience comes with the inconvenience of long wait times and a very loud atmosphere. While the service was somewhat slow, it was pleasant and helpful, and each table conveniently has an e-device for quick ordering. The beer list is long and interesting. Try the bourbon salmon and pecan-flavored beer!

Ultimate draft beer selection with fantastic service!

By Single Traveler |

This restaurant/Drafthouse is an awesome environment; wheather your looking for any kind of draft beer or some fine dining with your significant other. Street -level, right above the Riverwalk....probably the nicest environment of ANY establishment I visited in my stay in SA. Prices are reasonable & they'll be happy to give you 2/3 oz. samples of draft to help you choose your favorite & their bartenders are happy to make your favorite mixed drink to perfection! This is a must visit around the Riverwalk district.

Yard House Always good

By Msqteepy71 |

Food is always great! Ordered the kale salad with Salmon! The fried cauliflower was my favorite appetizer! Amanda served us with a smile!

Great service

By CaptSy |

Stopped on while on a cross country road trip and it was everything we were looking for. My girlfriend and I sat at the bar and had Keanu as our bartender. He was on point with all of our questions and had great recommendations for us. Amazing selection of brews and food items.

Good Soup, Lousy Salad

By Noah S |

Stopped for lunch and ordered the soup and salad. The tomato bisque soup was very good. The salad was equally bad. I could have gotten a better salad from the 7-11 refrigerator case. Too bad.

Dinner

By Sheri W |

Alyssa was excellent. Gave great recommendations. Friendly and courteous and professional. Helpful. She made our experience wonderful. I Had a Baja shrimp taco and vampire taco. Both excellent. My husband enjoyed happy hour and the watermelon margarita that Alyssa recommended - and house cheesesteak with onion rings. We shared the Miguel’s queso- also on happy hour special. Huge portion and very tasty. Great atmosphere. And good tunes playing. Wonderful service and clean restaurant. Even their tea is good. We will be back. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Anniversary Night 1

By Thomas |

The food was excellent (jambalaya, Ceasar salad, spinach dip). Seated promptly with a really nice view of the Riverwalk. Our waiter timely took our order and our food was prepared as ordered. I would definitely eat here again!

Nice beer flight

By Richard H |

Belgian beer flight was great. Nice different Belgian beers. Had some snacks to help. Sliders good. Boneless wings (Korean) very nice. Barman a bit awkward but overall good time had by all!

Great beer selection, good food

By 404HappyTraveller |

It’s a chain operation, but they do things very well, so this location is obviously well managed. This is the Riverwalk location, and we chose it because it was close to where we’re staying. It was actually a bit difficult to locate with Maps from the actual Riverwalk, but eventually we found it. Only a few people in line so we were seated quickly at a nice table overlooking the water and all the activities down there. The hostess and our server were both excellent. They have a huge variety of beer on tap, so we narrowed it down to a few local brews, and were offered samples of those to better pick. The menu has a wide variety of pub grub type food. Our orders came pretty quickly, and were, of course, large portions, nicely presented. We had the cheesesteak sandwich and the avocado chicken sandwich, and both were very good. They have an iPad type tablet at each table that does a multitude of things, including the server using it to quickly to present your bill, process your payment and print your receipt.

LATE NIGHT STOP

By Hiker1942 |

Was looking for a late night snack and a night cap and came across the Yard House right by our hotel. A very nice atmosphere and just about any beer you could desire. Waitress was there within minutes and worked the table on a regular basis. We had a couple of excellent appetizers and a few beers. Food was very good and the beer was icy cold. It was a nice way to end the evening.

Came here while at a tradeshow.

By Nailcutter |

Came here while at a tradeshow. Simple order of a chicken sandwich, ceaser salad and the tomato soup with grilled cheese. We also got fries from the server who was very good. Food was adequate and the restaurant was quiet for a Thursday night. Close to the Marriott and connected to the mall.

Peaceful Oasis above the Riverwalk mahem!

By Sue P |

Always had a tough time finding dining spot for a group of 6 on the riverwalk during busy times...this is the solution! Located above the riverwalk on east commerce street, put your name in here and go for a stroll, then come back for consistently great food and service. Found this gem during ncaa basketball, late night full menu, outstanding service and staffed to handle the volume. Even has an area with view of the riverwalk. Great place to watch sports too. We went back 3 times during our visit, it was that great!

Awesome place to start "Bar Hoppin'" @ SATX

By Boricua_Globetrotter |

Awesome place to start a "Bar Hoppin'" experience right in the heart of SATX. Great variety of beers and decent food. The atmosphere was welcoming, but that location is pretty epic. Cheers!

Happy Hour specials

By George P |

Happy hour drink specials brought us in,we stayed for HUGE Nachos and more drinks. Great selection of beers, and wines too. yard House is always a good stop whenever we see one. Anywhere we have been across the country it is always a great stop.

It Was Okay

By Richard D |

Went there for lunch with my wife. We entered from the Marriott door. Sign said to go through to ???? We ended up having to walk all the way through the restaurant to the other entrance. Service was okay, not great. Food was good, not excellent.

Food & Drinks

By ann d |

our server was great! Thanks Alex! Food was great. Had Crab Cake sandwich..can you say amazing! Guacamole was very good!

Gardein vegan burger

By ItalianChicken1 |

Well I was lucky as they had lots of vegan options. I got the vegan burger and it was very good. I opted for salad instead of fries and had to pay an extra $3.25. Nice dressing and tasty greens. The sangria was delish too. It was quite a long wait but worth it.

Good Food

By Jerry S |

It took a while to finally get someone to wait on us. Once the young lady came to the table the service was impeccable. Highly recommend this place.

Good food, good ambience, great prices!

By Faye S |

So glad to catch happy hour in the bar area where there are several food items that I like at 1/2 price like the pizza, sliders/fries...Wow, what a great deal! And the food was good! It was quite crowded so needless to say, the drinks are obviously a favorite as well! Service was good, too.

Happy hour

By SGTL |

This was one of the only places open. Went on late night happy hour. We got wings and cheese curds. The wings were pretty hot and the cheese curds were pretty great. The only thing was the dipping sauces were pretty bad. Good service. The prices were pretty high so I’m glad we went on happy hour.

YARD HOUSE is a great pit stop when at the River Walk...

By Eddel |

Yard House is probably the best pit stop for beer lovers visiting the River Walk. There’s no doubt San Antonio has its share of wonderful breweries and watering holes, but if you’re visiting the city, most likely you’ll spend some time wandering through the River Walk, and Yard House is the perfect place for knocking back a few cold ones. The highlight is the huge assortment of beers on tap. Just having a look at those nozzles will make every beer enthusiast happy. There are all kinds of beers from around Texas, the US, and beyond, but probably, the focus on truly local breweries falls a bit short of expectation. Anyhow, you’ll hardly have any trouble finding a beer suitable to your taste and mood. Regarding food, it is pub-oriented, and I would rate it “pub-good” also, with a marked focus on burgers, sandwiches, and chicken wings. Portions are plenty, grilled food is well-cooked, greens are fresh and crisp, and chicken wings are far from skinny; overall, a tasty experience. Service is not what you would call friendly, but still responsive, agile, and courteous –from hostesses to servers. Hard to explain but, though I did not find an actual flaw or complaint, it was hard for me to tip 20%. The downside to the experience (just a way to call it, though no big deal actually) is probably the venue. It felt somehow dispirited, however, probably due to the day and time when visited. Yard House, although next to the Riverwalk, does not have what you would call a scenic view. And the place is a bit tricky to reach from the Riverwalk and from the shopping plaza, so better access through Yard House’s main entrance on Commerce St.

Great venue!

By beeedell |

Food was great with an extensive menu. Connected to the Marriott for easy access. Loud and often very crowded.

We loved the Yard House!

By Kellie H |

We loved the Yard House! Our server, Sky was excellent and kind. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was fun.

Not worth the price

By bellydiva |

The food was plain no flavor. I had the Philly cheese steak. The fried onions on top. We’re pure flour. The best part of the plate was the pickle spear. Presentation. None

Not where you want to go for special orders

My wife asked for a salad without corn or croutons due to an allergy. Both requests were ignored and the waiter never came back to check on our meal, just to drop the check later. The usual lunch offerings for the rest of us was average at a high price. A discount on the expensive mall parking would have been appreciated. They have a very expansive beer menu. Next time I’ll just come in for that and skip the food.

Fun and good food

Hopping atmosphere, great late night deals, and best skillet bean dip in years. Good spice. Recently moved to the north where spice is a foreign word. Love the river walk.

Good visit

By Whereto2next |

I am happy with my visit to Yard House. We went during happy hour and were able to enjoy happy hour prices for the pizza and wings. This is an outstanding deal. I would visit this Yard House again!

Great welcome and great time

By dwilson |

We entered and were greeted warmly and shown to a table that suited us very well. The young lady who seated us has a relative in Toronto and we were happy to have had such a pleasant conversation with her! When we came back for a mid afternoon break from the heat (on a different day) she remembered us as did the manager! WOW impressive, very impressive, but now back to the review, the selections of beer are second to none and on an hot day - nothing is better! We started with the edamame before we selected our dinner and enjoyed our first draft! I had the Chicken Cobb Salad and it was really good - so fresh and well presented. My husband had the Lobster and Shrimp Agnolotti and he enjoyed it all! Delish. No room for dessert but we did have coffee, which was hot and flavourful. What a great, relaxed evening and we watched the Toronto Raptors beat the Milwaukee Bucks!! Not rushed, great service, friendly team members and a perfect location. What more could you ask for ?? I can't think...Thank you all - hope to see you again sometime!!

Amazing

This place is absolutely amazing. Best calamari I've ever had. Crispy Brussels sprouts were awesome.. I am barbecue Korean barbecue Philly cheesesteak was out of this world. And the Maui pineapple chicken was absolutely amazing. The chicken just melted in your mouth. And we ended our night with a oreo brownie.Co have a mode something or other and it was absolutely amazing. And to top it off. Our server Wes was so friendly, so welcoming and out of this world awesome service. We'll definitely recommend this place to everybody and we'll definitely be back.

Good Spot

By g97traveler |

This place has a ton of beer on tap. Just about anything that you could be looking for. They had a good lunch too. I had carne asada tacos and my wife had a chicken burger. Both were very good.

Good Variety

Stopped in for lunch and it did not disappoint. The nachos were delicious and tacos very tasty as well. Good customer service .

Twist to an old favorite

We started with drinks of course—Lavender Drop cocktail and blood orange beer. Love!! My husband got the Kurobuta Pork burger. I got the sliders. Also yummy! Anthony, our server, was helpful, friendly, and attentive. Highly recommend!!

Great place to catch the game

By KrisWisconsinite |

If your visiting from out of state, thus is the place to go to watch your team. Plenty of TVs and ample seating (though get there early if you have a group). My husband and I ended up sitting/eating at the bar. It was busy and the bar tending staff were prompt to offer another beverage. The food was delicious as well. Surprisingly, it wasn’t too loud. Amazing beer selections! Enjoy!

Amazing food great music

By Christina R |

The food here is outstanding I’m only giving it a 4 star because food portions are small for the price. But taste amazing. Service is rushed and you can tell it’s a tourist go to place. Beer on tap for days so many choices. The California roll appetizer is very good. I had the parmesan crusted pork loin... the best I ever had. Amazing, my husband got a vampire taco on the side... amazing to eat very unusual. His biggest complaint food portions for the price, but said food was amazing.

Nice restaurant

By Tervis |

Yard House is an American-style restaurant that offers its customers a spacious, modern and clean dining environment. The service here is good and the staff is friendly, which increases the pleasantness of the visit. The food is basic and does not offer special taste experiences, but the food is still good. However, the restaurant's diverse beer selection is noteworthy and offers something special for beer lovers. Overall, Yard House is a solid choice. I give the restaurant three stars out of five, but I could come to the restaurant again.

This restaurant Goes YARD!

By kwajsteve |

Pardon my juvenile baseball reference in the title, but the Home Run Derby is tomorrow. After my brother and I entered the door marked "Yard House" off Commerce Street and traipsed around the mall for 5 minutes thinking we were idiots, we realized the sports bar is actually up the giant staircase we had somehow missed upon entering. Francisco served us well, with just enough persistence to keep our water refilled without annoying us with his unwanted presence. The beer menu is extensive, and probably requires 20 minutes to study in depth. But the tabletop touch screens help narrow down your choices depending on your personal brew taste. We ordered cheese curds as an appetizer, a distinctly American food that probably isn't legal in more civilized nations. But as far as caloric intake, it's hard to get a better deal than fried cheese. For an entree, I was pleased with the sesame chicken bowl. The noodles, chicken, and mushrooms tasted fresh and were lathered with an unmistakable sesame flavor. On a night with an array of ball games, this place would be quite the hot spot. But even without a game to watch, it's a much more comfortable place to eat and drink than elbow-to-elbow with the clueless tourists down on the river.

Nice restaurant

By Lanthu |

My coworker took me here for a dinner. I ordered grilled chicken sandwich and fries sweet potato and salad. It's fresh and very tasty. My coworker orders shrimp pasta, it looked good as well. The atmosphere was nice, relaxing. Nice service as well. The pricing is so so, not too expensive, not too cheap. I would come back.

Sunday afternoon great dinner

By fcogarciam |

Started off with a draft local beer, the selection is impressive, and fresh taste. I tried a fixed price menu with an appetizer , main dish and dessert. Great choice, the appetizer was lobster, crab and antichoke, the main dish was skirt steak a la Arrochera and desert was a mini chocante souffle with a dash of vanilla ice cream. I enjoyed all, the soufflé was great. A great dinner at a great price. The skirt steak tasted good, just a tint of spiciness. Would enjoy coming back

Yard house restaurant San Diego Ca.

By Quest584653 |

My daughtwe, son in law and granddaughter went for a Casual family night out. Out serious was very poor. Our waitress seemed stressed and never smiled. From our observation it seemed she was covering several tables. Looked as if they were short staffed. The atmosphere was nice but I felt the food was over prided for the quality. The drink selection was nice and a big variety if you go there for drinks. A table next to us had queso and chips. They actually looked good. I may return for a drink and appetizers.

Early Dinner New Year’s Eve 2019

By you-and-me-2015 |

Early Dinner New Year’s Eve 2019 Service with a smile ... food was fabulous: Crabcake with mango chutney & Lobster Garlic Noodles — we would definitely order both again. Dessert Trio was also amazing!! The cocktails were small for the price; there are no frozen drinks. We were seated in the section that overlooks the Rivercenter courtyard which was great. Sports plays on the multitude of TVs (could see three from our table on both sides). It’s connected to the Marriott, so easy access for to go orders.

great beer selection

By janice r |

We are craft beer people and when we really wanted a good beer we found this place. It is very big and had alot of seating at the bar. We ended up going twice on our visit and really enjoyed it. The service was great and the selction and prices very good. If you want a good beer this is the place

Over Priced .

By Paul H |

Don’t be fooled by the 129 or so craft beers. , to find one you actually like would be expensive and liver destroying. They have “ yards of ale “ which are not , and do check out the cleanliness, of thes things ! Pretentious ? Oh yes.

Extensive menu

By Rachael Barz |

A group of us visited for an early dinner and were seated quickly by a friendly waitress. Our drinks came our quick, the food menu is very large, and as a vego i've never seen so many options which was exciting. All the food was excellent and very generous in size. we will definitely be back.

Great Late Night Burger and Brew Place

By dkrumwiede |

We were tired of Convention food and drink and found a great place in " Yard House". I ordered a burger and fries at the bar and had a beer, one of the dozens they have on tap. There was great music playing, good late night atmosphere and the Burger was tasty. The setting of the restaurant is a span above the River walk. Very unique and enjoyable. If it is after 9 PM, check this place out!

Nice food and great atomosphere

By BHUANG69 |

My friend and I had a late dinner. I wanted something light and we spotted this place when we got out of our hotel. So in we went. There was going to be a one hour wait around 820pm and so we opted for eating at a bar, which was no wait. This place has so many different kinds of beers that it was hard for me to decide! I wish I can try different ones. My friend and I both got a beer and it was delicious. For food, I wanted something light and so I got the ahi crunchy salad. It was so good! There are many different types of vegetable, each with different texture. All of them form a very interesting texture profile when chewing. The soy vinaigrette dressing has a hint of sesame oil, which is so aromatic. It also came with six slices of seared ahi tuna, raw in the center and absolutely delicious. My friend had the chicken nacho, which tastes good too but a bit heavy for me. Two large beers (I think they are around $6 each, wow!), one salad and one chicken nacho -- final bill after tips was $57. Talk about great value!

Lived up to it's rating for sure,!

By Sarge56 |

Three of us showed up for dinner around 5:15 on Saturday night. The place was already jumping but we had no problem getting a table. Our server was AlanRay. He was an excellent server, always showed up when needed but not overly attentive. All of our meals came out quickly and correctly. The tomato bisque and Baja shrimp tacos were terrific. So was the ahi tuna appetizer and the Caesar salad. We we're delighted with the food and the service. We also thought the prices were quite reasonable for downtown San Antonio. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town!

Worst Yard House

By kmethvin |

Worst Yard House I’ve ever visited. One of the main reasons you visit the is the large selection of draft beer correct? After panning over the long beer menu, I found a chocolate stout that sounded perfect. “I’m not sure if we have that one, let me go check”. Of course they didn’t have it. Why have it on the menu if they don’t have it. Then she suggested a cherry beer? Why would I want a cherry beer when I was wanting a chocolate stout? Definitely not educated on her draft beers. I ordered the same thing I have eaten at every Yard House I have ever visited. The peppered fillet. Now if you’ve ever ordered the peppered fillet you know what I’m talking about. It looked as if everything was just thrown on to the plate and the gravy was actually served on the side. The carrots were not cut up and even had stems left on them. Both the carrots and the asparagus were so tough. I ordered my filet medium rare and it was cooked way too long which also made it tough and dried out. I wish I had taken pictures. Even my fork was so bent he could have chipped a tooth. This establishment needs a lot of retraining.

Overrated

By Lauren v |

The place is good, a lot of beer on tap but takes forever when the restaurant isn’t half full. Brought food before drinks or entree’s, and after a beer tasting we still had to call a waitress to ask for the actual glass of beer which took another 10’ to be served. Quite expensive too.

I think I got tape worm

By IamSwitzerland |

Food was pretty bad, cold and sort of low end. took out a "lobster pasta" which was terrible and got me sick for 3 weeks after my trip. Called the restaurant 2 times and lvm for the GM with no reply back. No receipt at all which I need for my expense report. Ugh.

GREAT

By Courtney T |

Great food, great beer, great service. Christian was a great waiter and very knowledgeable on the beers offered. We enjoyed the sliders and fries, but I felt like anything we ordered would have been on point. We went for lunch & I actually want to go back for dinner. They have so many options to choose from as well. Highly recommend, you won’t be sorry!

Great place for a bite, a drink, and to watch a game

By TheAboutExperience |

This was great place to enjoy the Super Bowl. The appetizers were fantastic and so huge that we did not even order any of the main plates.Plus we were sat at on the overpass that looks directly down onto the Riverwalk, which was awesome. Our waitress was very friendly in helping us decide which beers to get and even recommended some of her favorite ones. This happens to be the third different Yard House I have been to (Houston and Long Beach, CA were the others) and every single one has had great food, great drinks, and great staff. I would recommend trying this place not just for the drinks, but for the food and atmosphere.

Gluten Free Options

By ThereBeBears |

While they had a dedicated gluten free menu overall the food was average. The chicken bbq salad was over dressed and over sweet. The prices were good (for lunch). It was ok. Nothing spectacular nothing awful. Service was attentive.

Too commercialized

By TexasTravelertx |

Large menu, but I can not brag about it. Had the chicken sandwich, next person had pasta and shrimp, and the other person had fish tacos. Unfortunately, there was no flavor in any of these dishes with small portions.Maybe the pizza and burgers are better. If you want a bar like atmosphere with quick eats, then this is your place to enjoy company and taste different beers.

A happy hour deal you can't beat

By Corie Lee |

Ventured out for a stroll on the river walk and saw the happy hour specials here, so had to try it. Apps were 1/2 priced and so were pizzas. Three cheese pizza.... DELICIOUS... And I'm a pizza snob. Not too mention they had it to me superrrrr fast. Cheese curds... Okay, a tad greasy, but they're cheese curds, so 🤷. Fried calamari... Hubs said it was good. Nothing spectacular but definitely wasn't bad Blackened Ahi Sashimi... Hubs said it's was good as well. Again, nothing spectacular, but wasn't bad. All in all, we were very happy. For the price, would've been a good deal anywhere, but for the price in San Antonio on the Riverwalk, I don't know that you could've found any better. Would definitely come back again if it was happy hour.

Something for everyone

By Amy K |

Food was pricey but good. Nice selection and lots of beer choices. Server was great. We had jambalaya , BBQ pizza. and a burger that were good. Kale salad was DELICIOUS

Good Food, Service and a Nice Atmosphere

By Sarah M |

The service was good, the food was plentiful and the atmosphere was fun. Lots of fun and creative craft beer and drink selections. Portions were more than enough. Sadly we were too full for desert because they looked equally delicious. I would go back and clearly many locals met here as well.

Lunch

By Devon L |

We stopped in for lunch to check out the incredible beer selection on tap. They offered several options for flights and the watermelon margarita was delicious. For lunch we had the pizza and it was wonderful as well. We will definitely be back when we visit San Antonio again!

Decent spot

By Louis F |

Decent spot on the riverwalk with a lot of beer on tap and a large menu. You will pay tourist prices as it is on the Riverwalk but it is pretty good nonetheless.

Delicious Food - Expensive Cocktails

By SandraJBayCity |

The food was delicious. Our dinners included the Maui pineapple chicken, vegan chicken wings and the salmon. Service was great. Only complaint I had was a 9 oz Chardonnay was $17 a glass. I think that was a little excessive.

Unreal

By 981probinson |

A bunch of us went out looking for someplace to eat along River Walk and came across the Yard House. First of all, the do serve beer in half yards (32 oz) but not yards (64 oz). I haven't had since the 1960s. What a treat. Since I know the secret for not getting it all over you, I surprised my table mates. I can honestly say that I have never sen that so many varieties of beer and ales on draft in my life. I ordered the blackened Ahi Tuna. As good as any I have had in the countless Sushi places at which I've eaten. They did not have black Zambucca so I settled for the white. And finished off with a cup of Expresso. All in all, a treat worth repeating.

Try the Garlic Noodles

By Julia J |

Love love love this place!! I suggest getting on the list early because a wait time and get long. Happy Hour is really nice. I highly recommend the garlic noodles and the pineapple mule. I had the orange chicken for my main course and a brownie for dessert.

Poor service and poor food

By WayneForUK |

We were eventually sat in the back room and given menus. It was a while before any order was taken. Summary 40 mins from order to warm (not hot) food. Dirty silverware too. Despite extensive beer menu, it’s awful ! Positive. They can split a check

Big group, big fun!

By CTBG |

Attended with a huge group….service was phenomenal! Great place to watch sports and enjoy some good food and drink. Management and service team top notch.

Good Burgers and Brew

By Chelsea S |

My husband and I stopped by here due to the top rated reviews on trip advisor. It’s a typical sports type bar with soooo many beers on tap. I got their house six pack and the beers were tasty. I was surprised that 3/6 were from SLC, UT as that is where we are from. Burgers were cooked as requested, bacon was tasty. I got onion rings and he got fries. We had ordered a jumbo pretzel but our server forgot to put it in so we told them not to worry about it. He looked like he was training someone so it didn’t bother us too much and he apologized for his mistake. Overall a pleasant experience.

Loud and raucous

By Texmarc |

Went here for a meal and to watch the World Series. This is a large bar with a large selection of taps, located in the River Mall. The food was very good, although somewhat pricey ( remember we are in a tourist's tourist town) but it is a good place to watch a sporting event since there are BIG screen TVs in every direction all tuned to the same event. It was good, but this isn't the place to sit and visit with friends.

Reliable Late Night Option

By RiverRat68 |

The food menu is pretty much the same across the Yard Houses and compliments the large beer selection well. I went there late at night, mid week. It was good to find a reliable establishment that was still open although the food was sub-par, the service was bad and the place generally needed sweeping and cleaning up. Easy to get to from the Riverwalk and street level.

Great place for business or personal

By Rick H |

fantastic happy hour and how can you turn down a half yard for beer? Always love the food and staff - this location is ideal

Top to bottom, excellent

By IndyBlue9 |

On a business trip and chose Yard House for dinner. I ask Vinny the bartender for an imperial IPA recommendation and he immediately gives me two tasters of local beers and says "blind taste test." That's a man who loves his job and takes care of the customer. The entire experience was like that, excellent service, food and drink. The blackened shrimp tacos were terrific. This place does it right! Bravo.

Average

By Traveler76AZ |

We had dinner here. We had a variety of meals. I had the ribeye and shrimp. The ribeye was ok and the shrimp were small. The mashed potatoes and spinach were not very good. The other meals were just OK too.

Dissatisfied

By BLBUYS |

We were dissatisfied with our meals. Bothe the Carne Asada & Korean BBQ tacos were somewhat flavorless. The Truffle Parmesan fries appetizer was quite good though!

Just as good as the one at Fashion Island (Newport Beach, CA)

By katbunz |

The only previous experience I had with the Yard House was their Newport Beach, CA location at the Fashion Island Mall. I knew what to expect, and so when my husband and I arrived at our hotel (which was just across the street), I suggested having dinner here. We were not disappointed and we enjoyed our meals very much!

Broad menu; lots of beers; higher pricing

By hayes_jd |

A large menu with many food options. Though not a beer drinker, there must be 50 taps. I sat at the bar. Service was a little slow but they were friendly. Food is okay -- had one of their lunch specials (they have many) involving pizza and a salad. Their desserts were pretty good -- I have a small peach/apple cobbler (small being the key -- enough for a mouse). Pricing is a bit high but that's what you'd expect for the location. I was there during NFL game day so if your game is not on your TV, it is tough to see other games. So if you want to see a specific game,, you need to find the right viewing angle. (I was watching a blow-out game but the others nearby were fans of that team so we have to watch.)

Go there during happy hour

By Gregory Garcia |

I have been to YardHouse on about four occasions all during happy hour and you definitely get more for your money in terms of food. The half price appetizers and pizzas are legit and superb. Beers, cocktails and mixed drinks are $2 to $4 off regular prices. The food, drinks and ambiance are down to earth, unpretentious, wonderful and it’s one of the best national chain restaurants in town.

Hidden Gem

By John S |

Listed as a bar. Recommended by the concierge at the Marriott. Very large beer selection. Diverse menu with something for everyone. Poke nachos were awesome as was the calamari and tacos. Large portions, reasonable prices, and food quality was excellent for the venue. Absolutely, will stop anytime I am in San Antonio.

Happy Hour

By Lauren Woolstenhulme |

This place has fantastic food and good drinks. They have a happy hour where select main entrees, appetizers and drinks are 50% off. Fun environment and good service as well.

Excellent!

By queenofhearts7 |

Touring San Antonio, found ourselves at the Yard House and decided to have dinner there. It was nice to sit down after a long hot day of walking and enjoy the river walk view heading into night. We were seated fast and order the beer sampler to try. I'm not a beer drinker but did love the beverages. Then the food, OMG it was delicious. Sticking with the beer sampler, we ordered appetizers and had fried mac & cheese, boneless wings and the dessert trio, all excellent. Loved the Yard House and hope to go back some time!

Nice surprise

By Laura S |

We went on a friend's recommendation. It was a 40 min wait but well worth it. The view was incredible. We had a window seat looking down on the river walk. Our waitress was on task and friendly. I ordered spicy chicken and sweet potato pancakes. It was very good. My husband had the pineapple chicken. He said it was very good. My daughter had boneless wings she did not like them. She said the texture was yucky. We do recommend this restaurant.

This is a consistent chain.

By drjekyll |

Good happy hour, great tap selection, lots of TVs. Unfortunately, I didn't see it til later, but you can sit where you are over the Riverwalk. Salad was fresh.

Delicious Vegetarian Options!

By Sarah B |

We had a great waitress - the restaurant was busy but the space wasn't overcrowded. The drinks menu was awesome and there were so many veggie options - bbq brussel sprouts and buffalo cauliflower - very surprising compared to my experiences in Dallas where there were almost no veggie friendly restos

What's not to like about a yard of beer!

By Jeremy N |

The food here is really good, the service is excellent, and beer selection in pretty amazing. I had the prime rib (medium) and it was cooked perfectly.

Relaxed atmosphere with good food

By LuxeGirlNYC |

We recently had a work dinner here for about 12 people. The service was very good. Our server was very attentive. The food was very good. Our server recommended the Thai pork chop and it was delicious! I would definitely come back.

Good Food

By Sugah-n-Pops |

Great place for a nice meal. Within walking distance of the Marriott. The service was good, and the food was even better. I would recommend this place if you are in the area. I am sure to return when in the area again.

Horrible Experience - 0 Stars

By Elisabeth B |

My friends and I traveled from Houston to San Antonio last weekend (June 18 - June 21) for a river trip weekend in New Braunfels. We got an air bnb in San Antonio and thought it would be great to go out to eat one of the nights. When we arrived at Yard House that evening, the hostess asked how many in the party (10) and that would be a brief wait. A few minutes later, she came back and stated the table was ready. She seated us in the back of the restaurant between two well lit dining areas. It seemed like more of a walk way than anything. It was poorly lit, so we had to use our own cellphone lights to read the menu. The waitress arrived like 10 minutes later and seemed like she wasn't interested in serving us. She disappeared and then a waiter came by and began taking our drink and appetizer orders. The body language of both servers was very standoffish. It personally made me uncomfortable. He seemed annoyed or like we were a burden to them. He finished taking the order and stated he would be back shortly. No one ever brought out complementary water or anything. We sat watching everyone else getting the proper treatment and service while we sat waiting. I got flustered by the mistreatment and went to the front to ask the hostess about our seating. She stated it was because the back dining area was closed, but we saw several parties getting seated back there while waiting for our drinks/appetizers to arrive (which they never did). I brushed it off and headed back to my table. We wait another 10/15 minutes..still no water, no word from the waiter, nothing. At this point I'm fed up, I tell the other people in my party that we shouldn't spend a dime in an establishment that can treat people the way that you all did. We left. No words needed to be said, our actions of leaving spoke volumes. I'm not sure if it was because we are black, but what I can say is that it felt like it. There are too many things going on in the world with this pandemic and racial tension. I've never experienced anything like this before. Houston and San Antonio are two different worlds. Needless to say, I will NEVER spend a dime at that restaurant or in that city again due to my experiences this past weekend. Y'all should humble yourselves and really take a look into who you have representing your business. Period. If I could give negative stars, I would.

Amazing Happy Hour Crowd, Beer, Food

By William S |

My wife and I are foodies and enjoy happy hours where ever we go. This place has it all - an amazing number of beers on tap (more than 100 I think) and a large varied selection of comfort food. We liked it so much, we went twice in the two days we were in San Antonio. Price were modest - just a great overall experience.

Not impressed

By Corina F |

The waiter Javi was very rude. When asked for food recommendations he responded very negatively implying that he could go down a list of his favorites but that he wouldn't because I would end up just choosing a burger. I asked for lemons and had to wait 15 minutes before he brought them. Someone else in my table asked for lemons and he said, "more than the ones you have right there?" pointing to my lemons. I did have to wait a while to get a drink refill. The food was good, it wasn't great. It was cold by the time I got it. I was mostly disappointed at what a jerk the waiter was being.

Great beer selection

By Darron D |

Great place with a wide variety of beer and typical bar food. If staying near the convention center easy walking distance

Huge selection of draft beer

By Kathy M |

This place has the largest selection of draft beer that we have ever seen in one place! But, food. We ordered the Carnivore Pizza and a Korean BBQ sandwich. Both were good. We also ordered the Parmesan Truffle Fries, which were excellent. Our server was Brittany and she was outstanding. When we asked for food recommendations, she was very helpful. All too often you ask for beer recommendations in a place renowned for local craft beer and the server says they don't drink beer. What?? Brittany knew it all and provided recommendations for beer based on our likes and the beer we got was great. Definitely worth a visit.

A beer fro everyone

By IraAllen |

Great selection of beers and solid bar food. Friendly servers but slow bar. Lots of vegetarian selections.

Good Eats

By Nolen_Jay |

Enjoyed this place so much we had two meals here during our visit to San Antonio. Great service and the food was very delicious.

Great food and atmosphere

By DaytonQueen4 |

They have a lot of beers on tap but I guess because of COVID, many were out but they still had plenty available to try. Nice laid back environment and the nachos are amazing. Definitely recommend.

Great happy hour prices

By vmsolko |

We went to happy hour just before it ended. Great deal. Had deals on beer, and half-priced appetizers and pizza. Good atmosphere. Didn't feel rushed. Our server was James and he was excellent.

Eat more pork!!!

By lacymo |

I had the pork burger & my husband had the pork tenderloin. Sooooo good. Calamari appetizer was quality. Beer perfected the visit! Glad to now be living in a city with a Yard House!!!

Food, beer and awesome music!

By Alex_Sinencio |

Loved it!!! The bar looks amazing and I love the beer selection although if you don’t like beer there are other options. Music perfect!! Nice selection of food and the service great. 3 times I sat at the bar and one at table, all of the servers are great!

Come Hungry, leave Happy!

By gmomfbay |

Yard House is one of the newer establishments on the Riverwalk in San Antonio, and has a huge variety of dishes for everyone. Lots of new flavors from Fried Rice to Poke bowls, to Korean ribs and fish and chips. Atmosphere is open and accomodating, with wide open space and seating at tables, booths, and even the large bar in the center of the restaurant. Food is a bit pricey, but dishes can be shared. Their drink list is extensive, and they boast a large variety of beers on tap.

Great spot

By Jer1513 |

Stopped in because they had advertised a long list of beers on tap. That was very true, and there was a lot of choices in a number of different styles. Something for everyone. The food was also delicious!

Great sports bar

By TheDude1974 |

Lots of TV’s, great beer selection, lots of choices on the menu, a large restaurant with accommodations for large groups. Lots of activity in this restaurant, it can get noisy. I wouldn’t call it a great sit down, enjoy an expensive dinner type of place, more of a sports bar vibe. We had primarily appetizers, including wings, nachos, steak bites, all of which were really tasty. Downside is that service can be slow, especially when it’s busy. It’s also kind of expensive, but remember, you are on the Riverwalk. Actually located just off the Riverwalk.

River walk view

By hoytz2016 |

It was a good restaurant the food was good view of Riverwalk was picturesque from huge restaurant windows, staff very friendly, service was good and they continuously refill your drink glasses..

Great food!

By ShanelnNature |

Food was excellent we just had some apps and they were delicious! We had the lobster , crab and artichoke dip and the calamari. Definitely recommend those but all the food that we saw being delivered to the tables looked awesome. Great service too!! We will be back!!

Good food, great service

By theokitty916 |

Went here for dinner. We were greeted and seating right away into a large, comfortable booth. I had a Sunset Sangria and it was very tasty. My husband had the Alamo Golden Ale and it, too, was smooth and flavorful. For my entree, I had the BBQ Chicken Salad; it was a very generous portion, topped with a ton of fried onions, and tasted great; my husband had two tacos (blackened shrimp & Asada), served with seasoned rice. He enjoyed his as well. Our server, Garrett, was very nice and attentive. WIFI was free and worked well.

Sì Many beers

By Ricchio |

It’s a decent place with a nice atmosphere where you can have a quick lunch but…. With ine of the widest draft beer selection i saw in my Life.

Yes. A part of the great selection of beers, great ambience for watching sports, great decoration, great service, you have to consider that this is a place for great food. Try the Halibut, delicious. Tender meat. Oktoberfest now.

Excellent service

Our waitress, Brynn, was so good! Service was amazing. We were served quickly and it was a great atmosphere. I would recommend for people looking for a really good place to eat with great service.

Beer, beer, beer

If you can't find a beer that you like, then you don't like beer. Great LARGE selection. I just had a cheeseburger to eat, but it was perfect for me: no pink but also not burned. Clam chowder was interesting and enjoyable. Service from beginning to end was very good. I normally care about price, but I was celebrating a good trade show experience.

Great food

Fun atmosphere and always great food. Asked about the crab cakes but they are no longer on the menu 😟 We had the house salad, chicken fingers (ask fir catsup) and Orange chicken very tasty and spicy). Service can be slow at busy times
