Can't beat the fired chicken!!!🐓🐓🐓

By msdet1529 |

Haven't been to a YardBird in about 10 years since Las Vegas. We went in early at 11:15 and met a work colleague and we opened up the place. To start, we shared the fried green tomato BLT stack, followed by an order of Great chicken and waffles for our guest, and my wife and I had the Lewellyn's fine fried chicken. All three dishes were fresh, crunchy, hot out of the oil, flavorful and decent size bird!!! With a small spinach salad and mash potatoes with a dab of brown gravy and we were set!!! Wash it down with an a sweet ice tea and we were all set!!! Yum!!! Love a nice fried chicken? Must try Yardbird!!! Finger licking delish!!! 🐓🐓🐓

Excellent food, unique drinks, courteous service

By Tanya B |

This is one of our favorite restaurants, and we usually go to their Vegas location. We were in Dallas for a day, and the restaurant did not disappoint. Food and drinks were excellent as usual, but the service was even better - and good service is not easy to find these days. The restaurant is not cheap but it's very well worth the experience.

Great vibe but comes up short

By Will |

We were seated promptly as we had reservations for dinner with eight people. Inside you will find a swanky somewhat industrial take on a classic speakeasy. The atmosphere is wonderful. Dim but adequate lighting is great for a dinner vibe. The service started out slow and didn’t really improve. I would call the service fair. We ordered biscuits and deviled eggs for apps which everyone loved. I ordered the half chicken and others had lobster Mac and cheese and the chimichurri steak. I believe everyone was pleased with their selections mine notwithstanding. This restaurant is somewhat expensive with the half of a fried chicken priced at $36 with no sides. The lobster Mac and cheese $56. All said I do not think the cost is worth what you get. Was a decent experience but I won’t go back. Dallas has plenty of options which provide similar experience for a better overall value. Oh yeah….the honey hot sauce they are so proud of tastes like hot sauce but leaves the palette struggling to find the honey. I expected a more complex taste but it fell flat sadly.

FANTASTIC!! Do NOT miss out on this place! They had the BEST shrimp and grits I have ever tasted!

5/5 AMAZING!! The food and drinks were absolutely delicious! The service was fabulous and QUICK! It was a great experience! My friend and I went for lunch we had the fish dip + shrimp and grits and it was PHENOMENAL

Disappointing!

On April 1, 2023, I attended a brunch with a group of ladies in which we were celebrating birthdays. I brought in birthday cupcakes. The service we received from our server Jose H was excellent until we received our bill. Each person was charged a $5.00 cake fee. The total in the cake fee came up to $55.00. My complaint is if we or I had been made aware before we attended that there is a fee to bring in outside cake or cupcakes, I would have made other arrangements, or I would have paid the price only, not charged everyone in our party a $5.00 cake fee without any warning. That was embarrassing to the coordinator and me because we wanted a perfect brunch gathering, not people upset about a cake fee added to their bill when they did not order a cake, etc.

Amazing food and service, Gluten-free available

I have celiac and the Gluten-free chicken & waffles was absolutely incredible. Several other GF options available. The chef came out personally to talk to me about it. Family friendly. Service impeccable. Cannot recommend enough.

New Year Day lunch---get the chicken!

By midwstgirl |

Lots of people out NYD. This place was packed. Social distancing/COVID protocol was in force everywhere but the bar area. We sat at a comfy booth. Big glassy space, on cold and hot days you'll need a coat/take off your coat. Food: the salads are really really good. One is big enough to split. The deviled eggs---also a hit. We got the 1/2 bird----they'll do all white meat if you ask, no extra charge. So tasty! The honey hot sauce....yummm. Got the maple bacon donuts to go....awesome even the next day. I hope this place has staying power. Oh, and they validate ($10 value) if you park across the street. Woot. We will be back.

Expensive Chicken, Don't ask how much for Mashed Potatoes

By avgjoey |

Everyone loves fried chicken and it was good but the price doesn't justify the cost and at that cost do you need to charge for mashed potatoes. The charcuterie board was awesome but was way too much for three diners. Service was very good. Need building with a modernistic feel. The crumble was delicious but ouch!

Delicious comfort food with a swanky ambiance

By Belinda K Z |

Loved the casual elegant vibe of the restaurant. We started at the bar, tried a Yardbird Old Fashioned primarily because of the description - the bacon infused bourbon whiskey intrigued me, and it was a good choice, if you like IPAs Dadgum is a great option too. From the menu we had Deviled Eggs (best we ever tried), Field Pea Hummus (yummy), Chicken & Waffles (good), and the Wagyu Tomahawk Ribeye - super moist as to be expected with delicious bone marrow to pair. Service throughout was stellar with Dylan being the lead star. We definitely plan to come back. *Reservations are recommended *

Scrumptious Fried Chicken!

By LindaTours |

We made a reservation since this location is very busy and had excellent service on a packed Saturday night. We loved their fried chicken and waffles, plus two different appetizers. Drinks were excellent as well. Our server was very efficient and friendly. Love the uptown area in Dallas.

Never Again!

By HP_Texas |

Had high expectations but what a disappointment. The restaurant looks very nice, but it goes downhill after you are seated. Wine selection was limited and they were out of what we ordered. Up sale to a more expensive bottle. Waited over 30 minutes for our appetizer then the food showed up a minute later, Luke warm and below average at best. Expensive for what you get and the service was terrible. People came and left at the tables beside us. Fried chicken and short ribs are not that hard to prepare. There are a lot of better restaurant choices in Dallas

Another Delicious Location!

I like to consider myself one of Yardbirds biggest fans! Every time we are near a city with a location, we have to go to check it off our list. Dallas was next for us, so we reserved a few weeks in advance and made it happen! For a starter, we ordered the buttermilk biscuits as always. They were fluffy and oh, so tasty. My mother always orders the fried chicken and it never disappoints. She accompanies it with a side of fries, which are tasty as well. I often switch it up, and I think I may have found my new favorite - the Lemon Rosemary Rotisserie Bird. I opted for the market vegetables instead of the mashed potatoes, and I’m glad I did. Some of the best chicken and vegetables I’ve ever had at Yardbird. Be prepared for a pricy meal, but in my opinion, it’s worth it every once in a while for a nice treat.

A good looking mess

I went here with my family (6 people) for a birthday celebration. The young lady that was the manager on duty at the time did not acknowledge us when we entered the restaurant. Had a reservation, arrived early and was stilled seated 10 to 15 minutes after our reservation time. I could understand if place was busy, but there were plenty of places we could have been seated. When finally get a table, it is dirty, and the floor had spills and food under table. The server was nonchalant and really didn't give service. Drinks took 15-20 minutes to come, and all we had was water and a couple of sodas. It was our first time there and our server didn't explain anything to us or even recommend any dishes or drinks. The 1st server didn't return after bringing out drinks. Then we got Shondra as our server. Food took 45 minutes to come out. We saw 10 -12 people come after us get their food and leave before we got our food. Then to end the horrible experience Ms. Shondra spilled champagne on my wife and toddler son!! All they offered us was an apology. We had to ask for manger to address our issues and she blew us off. I was embarrassed in front of my family in a place I recommended, because I thought we would have a pleasant experience. Thanks for proving me wrong. I have eaten at all the other restaurants in the area, and this is by far the worse experience I have encountered. If you like slow service, overpriced food, and a drink spilled on this is the place to go.

Good food, horrible ambiance

By ChicagoPair |

So, the food was excellent and our waiter was great. But the outdoor dining space is HORRIBLE. We ate outdoors because we are very covid conscious. Our city requires proof of vaccine or a negative test to dine inside and we just aren't comfortable dining inside in cities that don't take covid seriously. One would think an outdoor dining space in Dallas would have, at a minimum, fans (the other places we dined at had fans and/or misters) but not at Yardbird. No, they have heaters but no fans. We were seated along the driveway in a space with absolutely no air movement. We were dripping with sweat, which would have been bad enough. But the space was also crawling with mosquitos and we were eaten alive. When my husband asked the host if they had any bug spray, the host looked at him like we were crazy. Never ever again. Oh, and the wine is outrageously overpriced.

Family Brunch at Best

By TravelMom2Too |

Ambiance. Staff. And so much food. Opportunity to experience Sunday Brunch with my family. We didn’t have a reservation but was seated within 5 minutes. We had a great waiter. Delicious mimosas. And everyone tried a different dish. The signature chicken and waffles with e bourbon syrup was definitely top choice. I would recommend eating here to anyone.

Trendy restaurant in a great location

By Rob-34567890 |

Great atmosphere and an excellent location next to Klyde Warren Park. Food is good not exceptional- signature fried chicken in truth is about the same as you get in KFC but much better presented! Friendly staff, drinks can be expensive. Best to book.

Chicken. Waffles. Collards. Get them!

By review4you |

Have been wanting to try Yardbird in other cities but never got around to it. Today we made our initial debut in Dallas. Had the chicken biscuits and chicken and waffles. Biscuits were pretty good but those chicken and waffles. Oh my word. So good. Soo good. Didn’t love the side of watermelon but I lm sure others do. Then our waitress Mack allowed me to try a sample of the collards. I regret not ordering them initially. Some of the BEST collards I’ve ever had. Loved our the coffee was served with two little ginger snaps. Want to compliment Mack who was so friendly and accommodating! She was amazing, funny and warm! We may return later tonight. Yep. She was that good and the chicken was too.

Bird is The Word

We made a reservation and were seated upon arrival. My husband and I were able to order to order the chicken and waffles and share this plate. We both were full and the service was top notch.

Delicious

Stopped in with friends to celebrate a birthday. The food is a little pricey, but definitely worth it. Service was outstanding.

Average food, bad service

By Doll33 |

Went on a Sunday night. The food was average and the service was terrible. Nothing like the Miami location. For desert, they ran out of ice cream so they substituted whip cream without saying anything. After we asked about it, they pretended like they were surprised and it was a mistake, but then they admitted they ran out of it. The rest of the experience was similarly poor.

Nice Atmosphere and Excellent Food

By BigRobJ200 |

My family and I came here to celebrate my wife’s birthday. This was our 1st time visiting and it did not disappoint. The service was top tier, the food (especially the chicken) was excellent and the atmosphere was a nice touch. I will add if you’re coming here, be sure and bring plenty of cash, it’s pretty expensive. One last thing, be sure and make a reservation (at least a week out) if you’re planning visit.

Average Restaurant with great decor!!

By WarriorChik-Traveler |

This restaurant is really nice and upscale. My food was average unfortunately for me. The price paid for the Short Rib Pappardelle Pasta was not worth it in my opinion. The short rib tasted like boiled meat. I loved the ....Housemade English Muffin with Whipped Honey Butter, Seasonal Jam. Melted in your mouth! Key Lime Pie with Strawberry Sauce, Seasonal Fruit was AWESOME!! Oh... my cocktail was the Southern Peach. As a Makers Mark Bourbon drinker this drink was so so.

Fabulous food!

By Cathy B |

Four of us came here the first night we were in Dallas. It was about a 10 minute walk from our hotel (Sheraton Dallas). The service was delightful and the food delicious if a bit pricey. Although we didn't stop there, the bar looked fabulous and if we had been in town longer, we would have stopped by for a drink. Highly recommend!

Nice but $$

By cha |

Food was very nice and the servers were very friendly. It is expensive ($33 for salmon with no sides and sides are $15 each!!!). The food was nice but maybe I’m being a snob I don’t think it was worth the price. Alcohol was very expensive again with the cheapest red about $50! I would recommend if you are going for a nice dinner- lovely atmosphere even on a Sunday.
